Two hospital employees killed in shooting at Texas hospital, suspect had ankle monitor
[FoxNews] Two hospital employees were killed in a shooting at Methodist Dallas Medical Center on Saturday morning. Police have a suspect in the deadly shooting in custody.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Saturday, Methodist Health System police, Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of North Beckley Avenue, the hospital said in a news release.

According to WFAA, law enforcement found two nurses shot near the labor and delivery area of the hospital. Both of the nurses worked in the maternity ward.

After the shooting, a Methodist Health System police officer shot and injured the suspect, 30-year-old Nestor Hernandez.

Methodist Health System Police arrested Hernandez for capital murder.

Dallas Police say Hernandez is currently on parole for aggravated robbery and had an active ankle monitor at the time of the shooting.

The suspect was detained, stabilized, and transported to another hospital for treatment.

No joy at Sheetz 'Stop & Rob' for Ebony Jones
[Blaze] An employee of a Sheetz convenience store on Wyche Road in Stafford told police that store workers were attacked around 5 p.m. Wednesday, the Office of the Stafford County Sheriff reported.

Deputy C.C. Crossett responded to the call about the disturbance at the Sheetz store allegedly pulled off by a woman wearing a green shirt — and no pants, officials said.

Sure enough, arriving deputies saw a woman matching that description sitting in her vehicle at a gas pump, officials said.

The woman — later identified as 43-year-old Ebony Jones — was detained as Crossett spoke with one of the employees who said Jones tried to steal items worth more than $20.

When store employees tried to stop Jones, however, she sprayed the contents of an aerosol can at them and then exited the store, officials said.

#2  Proper actions are to let the robber have what they want. Let them go and then call police. Then lock the doors till the police arrive. Never attack or respond to attacker in combative manner. Should you respond you will face termination. Robber if ruffed up can sue employees and store chain. Hopefully store cameras are working and tape can be provided. If arrested court date is set. You are required to appear. Individual is subjected to arraignment and perhaps later locked up with 20 year sentence that is reduced to 15 years. You are notified of appeal sooner or later of discharge hearing. So perhaps five years later they are out. You will be notified of discharge and then worry of their return at their convenience. This was an armed robbery.

Terrified judge in Waukesha massacre case calls recess after Darrell Brooks stares her down

Darrell Brooks
...racist would-be rapper, actual wife beater and career criminal, responsible for the Waukesha Christmas parade massacre...
, the suspect accused of the Waukesha Christmas Parade massacre, slammed his fist and stared menacingly at Judge Jennifer Dorow, causing her to break the court for recess on Friday.

"I need to take a break," Judge Dorow said, "this man right now is having a staredown with me. It's very disrespectful, he pounded his fist, frankly, it makes me scared and we're taking a break."

This is not Brooks' first disruption as he was ejected from the courtroom on Tuesday after Dorow decided that the suspect was being too disruptive. He was allowed back into the room shortly thereafter.

After arguing, interrupting, and making several baseless objections, the judge excused the jury and the witness on the stand. Brooks continued to make comments, saying "What you doing is judicial misconduct," and adding, "that's not fair to the jury, they have a right to hear everything. Not going to sit here and let you fix the trial because you don't want to tell the truth to the jury," he said, to which Judge Jennifer Dorow ejected Brooks from the courtroom, saying that he will continue to participate by video from the next room over.

Brooks was previously removed from the courtroom for being interrupted on October 4, after disrupting the judge so much that he was removed. Brooks interrupted Dorow on several occasions, saying that he did not recognize the state of Wisconsin or Dorow as a judge.

While Brooks is using the idea of being a sovereign citizen
...like so much else, an idea not the exclusive property of one race or another...
as a defense he has been allowed to cross-examine victims, belittling and re-traumatizing them

The judge has done nothing except guarantee years of appeals and wrangling for this POS who has never eaten so well and regularly in his life. His days in the General Population common areas each day are fated to be treatment like a hero on the black side of the yard. Kanye West Wants to Build His Own Mini-City Called the ‘Yecosystem'
[RS] KANYE WEST MIGHT have plans as ambitious as running for president.

In the midst of all the chaos from West’s past month, his team filed a slew of trademark applications that would allow West to create his own mini-community — or as West intends to call it, the "Yecosystem."

West’s plan for his own small "universe" has been in the works for years, two Yeezy sources confirm to Rolling Stone. The sources describe it as a self-sustained enterprise that would have its own branded homes, retail stores that sell Yecosystem-branded food items and beverages. The plan is serious, with arrangements to launch the first campus as early as next month, one source says. Eventually, West hopes to establish these mini-communities across the country, the source says.

West’s vision is on par with Steve Jobs, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, another source says, adding that West is adamant on creating something equally as world-changing. "He’s trying to do shit that people couldn’t even conceive of and he’s trying to make it happen," they explain. "He comes from a good place. It’s definitely his goal that everything that people touch that’s his is a good thing and has a good impact on the world."

All signs point to the venture being called "Yecosystem," as West’s team has registered a website domain for the name, complete with a mail server. It’s possible the name could change, as West is known to switch up plans at the last minute and trademarks have also been filed for Yzyverse, Yxyverse, and Yeezyverse. (A rep for West did not immediately reply to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.)

Sacheen Littlefeather's Sisters Say Claims of Native American Ancestry Were Fraudulent ‐ Report
[IndieWire] "And my [our] dad was born in Oxnard."
Any guesses as to the over/under of this story being the lead on the next Gutfeld?
Native American writer Jacqueline Keeler has published a San Francisco Chronicle piece alleging Littlefeather co-opted Indigenous ancestry to further her entertainment career.

In a bombshell story by Native American journalist Jacqueline Keeler for the San Francisco Chronicle, Littlefeather’s sisters Rosalind Cruz and Trudy Orlandi claim that the activist wasn’t actually Native American.

“It’s a lie,” Orlandi said of Littlefeather’s claimed heritage. “My father was who he was. His family came from Mexico. And my dad was born in Oxnard.”

Cruz added. “It’s disgusting to the heritage of the tribal people. And it’s just… insulting to my parents.”

Both sisters personally identify as Spanish, and accuse Littlefeather of manufacturing her Indigenous backstory to advance her entertainment career. Following her speech at the 1973 Oscars, she played Native American characters in several films including “The Trial of Billy Jack,” “Johnny Firecloud,” and “Winterhawk.” She remained a visible activist until her death in October 2022.

“I mean, you’re not gonna be a Mexican American princess,” Orlandi said. “You’re gonna be an American Indian princess. It was more prestigious to be an American Indian than it was to be Hispanic in her mind.”

Littlefeather’s sisters allege that she lied about much more than just her ancestry. Throughout her life, she claimed that her father was a violent alcoholic who abused her mother, a claim that both sisters deny. They both say that many of the stories she told from her childhood actually happened to their father during his childhood, and she passed them off as if they had happened to her.

Biogas. Ex-RAF top gun (call sign Hooligan) has made a killing training China's fighter pilots - and helped recruit dozens of British airmen paid £250,000 a year by Beijing... so why has the MoD only just woken up to this outrage?
[MAIL] His arm resting nonchalantly on the side of the cockpit and with the Tornado’s roof completely removed, dashing Keith Hartley turns to face the camera.

He looks every inch the national hero, risking life and limb during this 1988 test flight, which was conducted when Tornados and their pilots were on the front line of the Cold War.

Only when you take a second glance at this remarkable photograph do you realise that Hartley isn’t just flying without any overhead canopy: he has also removed his oxygen supply. That’s no mean feat at speeds exceeding 500mph.

Three decades on, the famous picture of the RAF’s ‘cabriolet’ testing programme, which the pilot autographed for posterity, still incites a certain awe, capturing the swagger and derring-do of the Top Gun era. Back then, Keith Hartley was the very Best of British. Known by the call-sign ‘Hooligan,’ his swashbuckling work played a key role in defending our realm.

Today, things are different. For while the former RAF officer remains gainfully employed in the aviation industry, his recent endeavours engender scorn, rather than envy. To former comrades, he’s no longer a hero.

Why so? Earlier this week the British government released a ‘threat alert’ about former British fighter pilots who are signing up to help train the Chinese equivalent of the RAF.

Excerpts from TFASA response:

* On 19 Oct 2022 a UK Ministry of Defence (“UK MoD”) spokesman told the BBC that: “the training and the recruiting of pilots does not breach any current UK law.” (BBC News).

* TFASA also wishes to highlight that it has been in contact with the UK MoD for many years and they are fully aware of the nature of the company’s business.

#3  Elements training Ukrainians now. Who knows how many troops their now. Marines in Sweden and other border nations at this time. Early on Navy seals lodged(hardly rustic) in fancy motel in I believe Kyiv. Short stay as military showed up and demanded they leave. So without hesitation they left. This story told by a Seal who was there. So at any time USA and NATO will attack when the mood suits them. Just as Putin warned of over many years. Same efforts worked in the Arab world called the domino effect. How did that turn out as with other areas as with Vietnam, Afghanistan and so on. Massive money printing. Pallets of money airmailed to even Russia during the cold war. Obama, and Biden promote this diplomatic effort. Perhaps Putin realizing this and China promote an alternate world dominate currency. With real value backing it up based on things of value not based on paper. So a short term effort. Past history demonstrates the end results repeatedly. Bloated and overextended in many conflicts saps the true wealth of any nation. Today's world the nuclear option is now available. Biden's mental state is an unsettling thought having the nuclear codes.

Former China President Abruptly Escorted From Party Congress
[ZeroHedge] “Mr. Hu "was not feeling well during the session" and left to rest in a room next to the meeting venue. "Now, he is much better,"
Yes. much much better.
As a reminder, Hu Jintao advocated maintaining good relations with the U.S., and was also an opponent of a military solution to the Taiwan issue. As SouthFront suggests, the former CPC Chairman’s escorting out of the hall is a clear demonstration of the renewed anti-Western foreign policy of Beijing, which, apparently, is ready for all measures, defending its sovereignty and the role of a superpower in the modern world.

#4  We already have greater firepower. The problem is that when you have such firepower, every problem looks like a hospital.

China is horribly and uniquely vulnerable to a US blockade of its oil supplies in the Middle East. The moment they start anything, we turn off the energy supplies like we did to Germany. China will deindustrialize rapidly just like Germany is going to do over the next 6-12 months.

IRS raises 401(k) contribution limit by record amount as inflation rages
[FoxBusinessNews] The IRS on Friday raised the amount that Americans can set aside for retirement in their 401(k) and other tax-deferred plans next year.

Beginning in 2023, workers will be allowed to contribute up to $22,500 to their 401(k), an increase of $2,000, or about 9.8% — the biggest jump since 2007, when the limit was $15,500.

The IRS makes such cost-of-living adjustments annually, but in times of painfully high inflation, the increases are more significant and impactful for taxpayers. The government reported last week that the Consumer Price Index, which measures a basket of everyday goods, rose by 8.2% in September, much more quickly than expected. Core prices, excluding gasoline and food, jumped by 6.6%, the fastest rise since 1982.

Just a fraction of people — about 8.5% — who contribute to a retirement account hit the maximum in 2018, according to a Congressional Research Service report.

The IRS also boosted the contribution maximums for IRAs and lifted the limit to $6,500 for 2023, up from $6,000 in 2022. The catch-up contribution amount for IRAs will stay at $1,000, meaning that anyone age 50 and older may stash away $7,500 next year.

Under the latest changes, more Americans could qualify for Roth IRAs, which tax contributions upfront, allowing individuals to grow their investment earnings tax-free (unless the money is withdrawn before an individual is 59½ years old).

The newest income phaseout from the IRS will rise to $153,000 from $144,000 for individuals and to $228,000 from $214,000 for married couples who are filing jointly.

One in four Americans has no retirement savings, according to a recent report from PwC, a professional services network. They report that U.S. households with individuals between the ages of 25 and 64 have a massive retirement savings deficit, with a total of $3.68 trillion less in savings than they should have in order to be prepared.

Federal Reserve research suggests that the median retirement account balance in the U.S. was just $65,000 in 2019.

Earlier this week, the IRS announced that it would set higher tax brackets and standard deductions for 2023.

For next year, the IRS is increasing the tax brackets by about 7% for both individual and married filers across the income spectrum. The top tax rate will remain 37% in 2023.

Europe
A Story of Jewish Partisan Resistance During World War II
[American Thinker] When the Nazis were gunning down Jews of the Eastern Polish town of Lenin into trenches, an officer pulled 17-year-old Faye Schulman (then called Faigel Lazebnik) aside. He’d seen her working at a studio earlier. So, he ordered her to take vanity pictures of him and other Nazis; he also told her to develop the negatives of the photos the Nazis had taken of the massacre. Almost 2,000 Jews were shot dead in Lenin. Several others were beaten, stripped naked, and sent to "work" camps in boxcars. Despite being terrified, the teenager secretly made extra copies of the photos to document the war crimes for future testimony.

Four Winters: A Story of Jewish Partisan Resistance and Bravery in WW2, a documentary film written, produced, and directed by Julia Mintz, presents Schulman’s story, along with that of seven other teenaged fighters like her who lived in the forests of Poland, Belarus, Lithuania, and Ukraine, waging guerrilla warfare against the Nazis. It took Mintz over a decade to track down these fighters — in their 80s and 90s — for interviews and gather photographs and film footage.

Camera in hand, she later escaped to the forests and joined a group of Russian resistance fighters to avenge the death of her parents and six brothers and sisters. The group made her the resident "nurse", hoping she may have picked up some skills from a brother-in-law who was a doctor. She assisted the group’s ’doctor,’ actually a veterinarian. They’d dress wounds with cloth sterilized by boiling. But she was also an unemotional fighter who learned to use a rifle and stalk the forests in her leopard-fur coat. During a raid for food and weapons, she urged fellow fighters to burn her childhood home so that the Nazis wouldn’t be able to use it.

Her focus, though, remained on building evidence. She was so resolute about documenting Nazi atrocities and the partisans’ activities that she learned to develop photographs under a blanket. "I want people to know there was resistance. Jews did not go like sheep to the slaughter," Schulman, who died last year in Toronto, aged 101, would say. Her more than 100 photographs of the massacre and her partisan years — and her life itself — are proof of that.

Short video trailer.

#1  "I want people to know there was resistance. Jews did not go like sheep to the slaughter,"

Contrary to the common stereotype, Warrior Israel did not spring fully formed from nothing in 1948, like Athena from the brow of Zeus.

Nor was it just Partisans in the woods of Eastern Europe during the war. While seeking the story of the Jewish union workers who beat bloody the fascists who intended to rampage through their London neighbourhood, I came across this happy post-war tale:

The British Jews who fought postwar fascism on London's streets
Harry Kaufman and Jules Konopinski, two of the last surviving members of the 43 Group.

Thank you, Besoeker.
