American Tourist Killed In Attack Near Historic German Castle - American arrested
[iHeart] An American tourist was arrested in Germany for allegedly killing an American woman and injuring another in an attack near the historic Neuschwanstein Castle.

Authorities said the 30-year-old suspect approached two women, ages 21 and 22, on a hiking trail near the castle. The man, who has not been identified, convicted the two ladies to follow him to a remote trail, promising them a breathtaking view of the castle.

The man then proceeded to attack the younger woman. The other woman intervened and tried to stop the attack, but the suspect pushed her down the slope of the mountain. He then tried to sexually assault the 21-year-old woman and then pushed her down the slope as well.

Both women fell about 165 feet. The 22-year-old woman was responsive when rescuers found them and was taken to the hospital. The other woman was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect fled the scene but was quickly arrested by the police. He remains jailed on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and a sexual offense.

#1  Happy June 19th America.

As far as I am concern the J19 holiday is Woke Joke.

Martin Luther King Jr. is the real reason the DEMOCRATS were forced to "openly" halt their Anti-Black racist agenda. Not some collection of WHITE Generals seeking laborers to move and haul supplies.

So we have 1 real Black Holiday (MLK Day) and a Woke Joke made by the LSD's for a political agenda song to rake in votes.

#7  Deriving its name from combining June and nineteenth, it is celebrated on the anniversary of the order by Major General Gordon Granger proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865 (two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued).

It is literally a celebration of being the last to know...

#9  20th person shot at Juneteenth celebration - it's not quite "headless body found in topless bar", but it's what we got.

I never heard of Juneteenth before living in Texas, but it always seemed a bit amusing for a 'holiday', mostly due to the timing. I imagine it went something like this:

General Granger: I have come to declare that on January 1, 1863, President Lincoln issued the final Emancipation Proclamation. You are all free.
Crowd: Yay!
Guy in back: Hey, wait a minute! Eighteen sixty three was 2 years ago. I been picking cotton for the last two years when I didn't have to? Dayamn!

US Navy base in Mississippi erects massive barrier made of SHIPPING CONTAINERS to stop stray bullets flying into sailors' homes amid gun violence across the neighborhood
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • The boxes were set up alongside the south side of Seabee Base in Gulfport after gunfire broke out at an apartment complex across the street

  • They were placed there in October and were meant to be a 'temporary solution' but the Navy is considering building a permeant concrete wall

Ecuador's Bella Montoya gone for sure this time
[BBC] An Ecuadorean woman has died days after mourners at her funeral were shocked to find her alive in her coffin.

Bella Montoya, 76, was first declared dead by a doctor at a hospital in the city of Babahoyo last week.
That's why they call it a Medical Practice
But when mourners attending her wake heard her knocking on her coffin, she was immediately rushed back to the same hospital for treatment.

After seven days in intensive care, Ecuador's health ministry confirmed she died on Friday from an ischemic stroke.

The ministry's statement added that she had remained under "permanent surveillance" while at the hospital.

Speaking to a local newspaper, her son,Gilbert Barbera said, "This time my mother really did die. My life will not be the same."

Following her death on 16 June, Ms Montoya was taken back to the same funeral home ahead of her burial at a public cemetery, local media is reporting.

Local media reported Ms Montaya had a condition called catalepsy - where a person experiences seizure, loss of consciousness, and the body becomes rigid.

A commission of experts has been assembled by the Ecuadorian health ministry to review her case.

Army's Top Enlisted Leader Engaged In Hours-Long Twitter Battle Over Pride Post
[Daily Caller] The Army’s top enlisted leader shot back at criticisms of a post from the 82nd Airborne celebrating LGBTQ+ members in a two-day Twitter battle, tweets show.

Twitter users, many of whom described themselves as veterans in their account bios, mocked the 82nd Airborne’s Friday morning post kick-starting the unit’s observance of Pride Month as a "disgrace" and distracting from the Army’s mission, the comments show. Sgt. Maj. Michael Grinston, the Army’s top enlisted leader responsible for morale and discipline issues in the service, condemned the criticism as harassment and shot back at tweets through Saturday morning as senior military leaders have not shied away from weighing in on American cultural controversies.

#14  See if I got this right.

The age of the prime recruit pool has for their entire life the US has been combat deployed. Well, other than that three months between Kabul and Ukraine.

They new recruits grew up hearing from the media about W's shit war for profit. Generational recruits maybe had a parent or both deploy, maybe multiple time. Some had combat experience. Possibly killed, or maimed and crapped on by the VA. Maybe like my high school buddy committed suicide by bottle. He left a wife and two daughters.

Trump is elected and the media starts downplaying patriotism again. Starts recruiting for real women and gays. Flag waving is for suckers is back on the menu. Island Boys.

And so after all that, the dog fucking of Kabul happens and new recruits are affirmed about the media's tales of W's profit wars, and the generational recruits are like WTF did my family go through, for this?

And no sooner than the wire transfers have cooled, talking nuclear war against Russia. In the meantime, recruitment and media make it clear that trannies are what it takes to make it in the military. And you don't have to get your covid shot, sort of, but if you don't you'll be mopping the rain off the parking lot as a career.

And here you are. Fighting a twitter war. Like a baffoon. Sign. Me. Up. For That.

Freakin junior high school girls bathroom culture. Except every once in a while a dude goes in and punches a girl in the face. Commander in Chief Biden.

I hope it is that fake shock drama they like to use, which is of course part of the problem, because if they are actually surprised, they are idiots.

Massive bear breaks into Colorado home, devours pork chops: video
[NYPOST] A bear that let itself into a Colorado home on Wednesday was looking for more than just porridge.

The daring bear grabbed a quick meal before it was caught on video in Steamboat Springs trying to escape from a second-floor window after it accidentally locked itself in the home’s master bedroom.

Neighbor Heidi Hannah caught the intruder on video and called the police for help when she realized the home’s residents were not there.

The large bear made several attempts to drop to the ground, but it was apparently too high up.

It swung itself back into the bedroom, where an officer who responded to the call had opened the door.

The beast went back downstairs, slipped through the first-floor window it originally entered through, then disappeared into the woods.

The homeowner, Ryan MacFarlane, was at work when he learned the bear was in his home, he told Fox31 news.

We've kept the two torn screens for 4 years to show everyone. Oh yeah it came in over my work bench without disturbing a single tool or the project I was working on. Moved a trail camera to see if he came back and the next day there he was posing.

American Medical Association says BMI is 'racist' because measurement was designed based on white bodies in the 19th century

[Daily Mail] A leading US medical organization is urging doctors to ditch body mass index (BMI) as the primary measurement for a healthy bodyweight, citing its 'racist' roots.

The American Medical Association, the largest organization of doctors in the US, said the metric has been used for ’racist exclusion’ and fails to consider differences in body composition that vary based on race and sex.

Body mass index (BMI), devised by a white man considering white bodies, is measured by dividing a person's weight in kilograms or pounds by the square of height in meters or feet, and it has been deeply ingrained in the medical system as a way to measure population health more broadly.

But on an individual level, BMI does not take into consideration relative body shape and how fat is stored. For instance, Asian people who fall within a 'healthy' BMI range are still at a high risk of diabetes....

Harvey Risch, a professor of epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health, wrote an opinion piece in Newsweek in July 2020 advocating for the use of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19. In the article, he argued that the drug had been unfairly maligned by the media and some public health officials, and that there was evidence to suggest that it could be effective in reducing mortality rates among COVID-19 patients. However, it is important to note that Risch’s views were not universally accepted by the medical community, and that subsequent studies have not found strong evidence to support the use of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19.

User:

Which subsequent studies of non-hospitalized patients showed that hydroxychloroquine did not prevent deaths?

RebbeIO:

Several subsequent studies have investigated the use of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, including studies of non-hospitalized patients. One such study was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial conducted by the University of Minnesota and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in November 2020. The study found that hydroxychloroquine did not significantly reduce the incidence of COVID-19 or prevent hospitalization or death among non-hospitalized patients who had been exposed to the virus.

Another study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in November 2020, also found that hydroxychloroquine did not significantly reduce the incidence of COVID-19 among non-hospitalized patients who had been exposed to the virus. The study, which was conducted by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, found that there was no significant difference in the incidence of COVID-19 between patients who received hydroxychloroquine and those who received a placebo.

It is important to note that these studies are just a few examples of the research that has been conducted on hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, and that the scientific consensus on the drug’s effectiveness is still evolving.

User:

How many people died in the Minnesota study that you just referenced?

RebbeIO:

I apologize for the error in my previous response. The University of Minnesota study on hydroxychloroquine and COVID-19 that I referenced in my previous response was actually a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of post-exposure prophylaxis, not a study of non-hospitalized patients. The study included 821 participants who had been exposed to someone with COVID-19, but who did not have symptoms themselves. The study found that hydroxychloroquine did not significantly reduce the incidence of COVID-19 compared to placebo.

To answer your question, there were no deaths reported in the University of Minnesota study on hydroxychloroquine and COVID-19 post-exposure prophylaxis. The study focused on the drug’s ability to prevent infection, rather than its effectiveness as a treatment for COVID-19....

Fear of Bud Light-style blowup has woke publishing giant shook
[NYPOST] Ideologues’ standard playbook for injecting radical race and gender theories into K-12 classrooms and elsewhere: Do it on the sly and, when caught, rush to cover their tracks.

The latest example? The world’s largest education publisher, Pearson, started a clumsy purge of its digital footprint after a Heritage Foundation report exposed its obeisance to the ideas animating critical race theory.

Pearson, like so many other corporate behemoths, rushed all-in on "equity" in 2021, with new editorial guidelines vowing to make woke concepts like "intersectionality" and "colonial discourse" part of everything it does.

Thursday, Heritage researcher Jonathan Butcher let the larger world know about it. His report drew some media scrutiny — and poof!

The guidelines vanished from the web along with videos promoting the same ideas, and the company’s chief flack went into full-bore denial, insisting, "Critical race theory is not included in Pearson K-12 materials for public schools or in any materials for government contracts."

It’s always bunker mode as soon as these efforts get the tiniest bit of attention. You’d think fearless social justice warriors would be proud of their efforts!

But not Pearson — which operates a massive digital learning platform, produces materials for every grade level of US schools and plays a major role in both teacher licensure and federal agency hiring.

'Dead' woman found alive inside coffin at wake has died one week later. At least they think so.
[NYPOST] An Ecuadorian woman who seemingly rose from the dead when she began knocking on the inside of her coffin at her own funeral — has been declared dead again seven days later.

Bella Montoya, 76, was confirmed dead Friday evening after spending about a week in intensive care following her cryptic awakening, her family and the country’s health ministry confirmed.

"This time my mother really did die. My life will not be the same," her son Gilbert Barbera said, according to a local newspaper article translated by the BBC.

The retired nurse died from an ischemic stroke while she was being watched under "permanent surveillance" in the ICU, the ministry said in a statement.

Hospital workers had originally pronounced Montoya dead on June 9 after she reportedly suffered cardiorespiratory arrest.

She spent about five hours inside a coffin and woke up in the middle of her wake — shocking loved ones gathered in the city of Babahoyo to mourn her death.

Africa Subsaharan
‘Cobalt Red': The price Africans pay so we can have better batteries
[Washington Times] Electric vehicles are marvelous in many ways but if you think they’re "green and clean," you haven’t done your homework. Not to worry: Siddharth Kara has done it for you.

The author of three previous books on modern slavery and a senior fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health, he’s also one hell of an investigative reporter.

His most recent book is "Cobalt Red: How the Blood of the Congo Powers Our Lives." To research it, he made multiple journeys into militia-controlled areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the central African country where 75% of the world’s cobalt is mined.

"This rare, silver metal is an essential component to almost every lithium-ion rechargeable battery made today," Mr. Kara writes. "The Katanga region in the southeast corner of the Congo holds more reserves of cobalt than the rest of the planet combined."

So, Congo must be among the world’s richest nations, right? No, it is among the world’s poorest. More on that in a moment. First, a smidgeon of science.

The lithium-ion batteries that power electric vehicles require large amounts of cobalt to increase their "energy density," the ratio of mass to energy. Only "lithium-ion chemistries using cobalt cathodes are currently able to deliver maximum energy density while maintaining thermal stability," Mr. Kara explains.

As a result, global demand for cobalt is enormous and expected to grow explosively. Twenty-four nations have pledged to eliminate the sale of gasoline-powered vehicles by 2040. They are using subsidies, regulations and mandates to propel this transition — whether most buyers and sellers of cars like it or not.

Cobalt can be mined using machines that run on diesel fuel, a fact often ignored when EVs are called "emissions-free." But Mr. Kara’s focus is on the more than 30% of cobalt mining in Congo that is "artisanal" — a euphemism for "hundreds of thousands of people engaged in the feverish excavation of cobalt in medieval conditions."

More specifically, Mr. Kara surreptitiously visited numerous mines where cobalt was being extracted "by the blistered hands of peasants using picks, shovels, and rebar" in "hazardous pits and tunnels."

His investigations revealed that cobalt mining in Congo involves "slavery, child labor, forced labor, debt bondage, human trafficking, hazardous and toxic working conditions, pathetic wages, injury and death, and incalculable environmental harm."

One local researcher told Mr. Kara: "The mining companies have polluted the entire region. All the crops, animals and fish stocks are contaminated."

No one accepts "responsibility at all for the negative consequences of cobalt mining in the Congo," Mr. Kara writes, "not the Congolese government, not foreign mining companies, not battery manufacturers, and certainly not mega-cap tech and car companies."

He’s not wrong, but I’d argue that he doesn’t sufficiently emphasize Beijing’s role in the exploitation of Congo’s resources and people.

Roughly 90% of Congo’s mining exports go to China, where they are processed and where batteries are manufactured for sale around the world. The energy source for this processing and manufacturing: mostly coal, the most polluting hydrocarbon.

How did China achieve its dominant position in Congo? Mr. Kara observed that some Congolese

"When high-ranking diplomats (and there is no higher ranking than Blinken) visit other countries, it is an act of tradition and respect to roll out the red carpet. It’s also customary for that person’s foreign counterpart, usually the one he’ll be negotiating with, to be in attendance to greet said diplomat and escort them to the meeting place or where they are staying. In this case, Blinken was met with a low-ranking official while given essentially zero pomp and circumstance, and the reason China snubbed him isn’t exactly a mystery."

US warned of a wave of bankruptcies due to the decision of the authorities
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

In my personal opinion, US business do not fail from high interest rates. They fail from a sudden shift in business conditions.

[Regnum] The decision of the US Federal Reserve System (FRS) to postpone the cut in the refinancing rate for a couple of years may provoke a wave of bankruptcies among American companies due to expensive loans. This, as reported by Bloomberg , was warned by the chairman of Renta 4 Bank Juan Carlos Ureta.

“If these monetary conditions continue for as long as the Fed says, we will see massive bankruptcies in the corporate sector, and this process is just beginning,” he said.

Due to the high U.S. base rate, firms’ spending on loan repayments in the first quarter of 2023 was 22% higher than a year earlier, according to the agency. In May, the country recorded 16 corporate defaults, when companies failed to pay interest on loan bonds, before that there were six more.

By January 2024, U.S. companies will have about $260 billion of debt due within a year, about double the current level, according to US financial conglomerate Morgan Stanley.

As IA Regnum reported , in May 2023, the International Monetary Fund warned that serious problems were expected in the banking sector while maintaining high interest rates. According to experts, this may lead to an increase in the number of bankruptcies among banks.

#1  One of the leading causes of personal bankruptcy in the USA is currently medical related bills.

But, I thought ObamaCare was gonna fix and protect us?

All I have seen is Doctors now charging $500+ for a simple 5 to 10 min look over. Plus Private and O-care insurances covering only 2/3's at best ... After $$$$ initial deductibles, and $$ co-pays.

#2  The extremely high cost of medical care and meds discourages trips to the doctor and helps facilitate the culling.

"Means testing" provides full payments for JAB compliant government approved, abortions, reassignments, urban gunshot wounds, approved birthing, emergency room visits, etc.

If you must ask what the service provided actually costs, you probably cannot afford it. Please continue to shelter in place.

NN2,

Remember always: The Affordable Care Act was not meant for 300 million Americans. It was meant for 535 Congressmen and Senators, and ONE President. It did nothing for anyone else.
