CBS News Correspondent Catherine Herridge Predicts a ‘Black Swan Event' in 2024: ‘A National Security Crisis with Unpredictable High Impact' (VIDEO)
[Gateway] During the year-end CBS News correspondents roundtable, Catherine Herridge, the network’s senior investigative correspondent, made a grim prediction for 2024, referring to a potential ’Black Swan event’ — a national security crisis with unpredictable high impact.

A "black swan event" refers to an unpredictable or unforeseen event, typically one with extreme consequences. This term was popularized by Nassim Nicholas Taleb in his 2007 book "The Black Swan".
Like a terrorist attack from Illegals pouring across the Southern Border? Naaaahhhh. Couldn't be
Margaret Brennan, moderating the discussion, asked Herridge about her prediction.

Catherine Herridge, a seasoned reporter who has covered national security and intelligence for years, had an unsettling message regarding what the future might hold, especially under the Biden regime.

"Well, mine’s a little dark," she began. "I just feel a lot of concern that 2024 may be the year of a black swan event. This is a national security event with high impact that’s very hard to predict."

She outlined several factors contributing to her prediction. "There are a number of concerns- concerns, I have that factor into that. Not only this sort of enduring, heightened threat level that we’re facing, the wars in Israel, also Ukraine."

Herridge emphasized the internal divisions within the United States, which she believes could create opportunities for adversaries like North Korea, China, and Iran.

"And we’re so divided in this country in ways that we haven’t seen before. And I think that just creates fertile ground for our adversaries like North Korea, China and Iran. And that’s what concerns me most," she added.
You mean like waves of military age men (MAMS) streaming across out Southern border? Or foreign observations balloons transiting our sensitive areas? Or bio warfare disguised as a type of flu? Or a golden BB taking out an aircraft carrier along with 4000 US sailors ?
Responding to Herridge’s comments, Brennan noted the widespread anxiety such predictions could cause. "A lot of people are up at night with that concern, Catherine. At least in this town," Brennan said, highlighting the gravity of Herridge’s warning.

Saving something for a book are you? End the foking klikbait! Specific scenarios please, rank ordered and time-lined from most likely to least likely. Please return to your beltway sources and retrieve the facts, Indications and Warning (I&W), that sort of thing.

#8  Thanks for telling me what I already know. What any vaguely sentient being who lived in this country from even 2015 until now knows.

The deep state/commie/globalist faction is going to go the full, no holds barred Daffy Duck Grand Finale. They will do exactly what they think they can get away with and then some.

The only positive sign I think to look for is when their tone changes to tantrum from random threats and destruction. They will look a lot alike at first, but they need to be helped and guided into tantrum mode because it's an admission of defeat.

Oh well, Merry Christmas ALL. 'Happy is he who can say, Tomorrow do your worst for I have lived today'. After all happiness is cryptonite to a commie.

Pulled Brisket-Topped Latkes
[MyJewishLearning] I would like to say that this is the first time I have combined brisket and latkes into one recipe, but I would be lying. I just love finding ways to use brisket, like the brisket latkes I created last year and one of my newer creations: brisket-stuffed cabbage.

Like so many great recipes, this one was created by accident. At a Hanukkah party several years ago I served potato latkes, pulled brisket and some homemade challah rolls. Pretty soon my friends ditched the rolls and started topping their latkes with the brisket. And a new star was born.

If you are asking yourself, "can I use my family’s beloved brisket recipe for this?" The answer is absolutely. As long as the recipe calls for a significant amount of liquid so that it has a bit of sauce to it, whatever recipe you fancy will work great.

You don’t have to stop with brisket as a topping for your latkes. You can make a "top your own latke" party this Hanukkah season, serving up grilled pastrami, pulled brisket, caramelized onions or any other fun topping you like. Watch as your guests get creative with their latkes. You can also shake it up by adding some sweet potato latkes or parsnip latkes into the mix.
A bit surprised there's no front page today, but I'm sure there are good reasons for that. God Bless All Rantburgers and their own beloved. Recipe at the link

Olde Tyme Religion
Some Catholic bishops reject Pope's stance on same-sex couples
[AFRICANEWS] In an extraordinary pushback against Pope Francis
...Argentine liberation theologist, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio. He was elected pope in 2013. Rather than setting up shop in Avignon, where he belongs, the first Jesuit Pope chose to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse instead of the papal apartments. He is big on climate change, against consumerism, and in favor of throwing a blanket over homosexual activity within the clergy. He's not real sure about the Resurrection, about Christ's divinity, and a few other things that would have gotten him burned at the stake a few hundred years ago, but he's hot for a certain South American Earth Mother Goddess...
, some Catholic bishops in Africa, Poland and elsewhere say they will not implement the new Vatican policy allowing blessings for same-sex couples.

Others downplayed the policy approved this week by Francis as merely reaffirming the Vatican's long-standing teaching about marriage being only a union between a man and a woman.

The reactions show how polarizing the issue remains and how Francis' decade-long effort to make the church a more welcoming place for the LGBTQ+ community continues to spark resistance among traditionalist and conservative Catholic leaders.

Some of the strongest responses came from bishops in Africa, home to 265 million Catholics, or nearly a quarter of the world's 1.3 billion Catholics. Many of those Catholics live and their churches operate in societies where homosexuality is condemned and outlawed.

Out of the continent’s 54 countries, 31 have laws criminalizing homosexuality, more than any other continent, according to the Human Dignity Trust, which defends LGBTQ+ rights.

Zambia's bishops conference said same-sex couple blessings were "not for implementation in Zambia." The bishops conference of Malawi said "blessings of any kind" for "same-sex unions of any kind" would not be permitted.

In Zambia, gay sex is punishable by between 15 years and life in prison and the law puts it in the same section as bestiality. Malawi’s laws call for up to 14 years in prison for homosexual sex, with the option of corporal punishment for those convicted.

Zambian bishops said there should be "further reflection" on the blessings and cited the country’s laws against homosexuality and its "cultural heritage" that rejects same-sex relationships as reasons for its decision.

The Polish bishops conference — among the most conservative in Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and a reference point beyond the continent given its ties to St. John Paul II — said it has no plans to give blessings to same-sex couples.

Marriage, the conference asserted, remains only the union between a man and a woman, and sexual acts outside of that are "always an offense against God’s will," according to a statement by spokesperson Rev. Leszek Gęsiak.

It is unusual for an entire national bishops conference to publicly voice dissent of a Vatican policy, though the declaration from the Vatican doctrine office did not instruct bishops to allow blessings of same-sex couples but merely provided guidance on how they could be done if people requested them.

The document, entitled "Fiducia Supplicans," says that blessings can be offered to people in same-sex relationships if they are not confused with the ritual of marriage and reaffirmed that marriage is a lifelong union only between a man and a woman.

The announcement Monday by the Vatican office reversed its 2021 statement that had ruled out blessings for same-sex couples because God "cannot bless sin."

The U.S. bishops conference, seeking to downplay any shift, stressed that the church's teachings on marriage have not changed and that the announcement "articulated a distinction between liturgical (sacramental) blessings, and pastoral blessings, which may be given to persons who desire God’s loving grace in their lives," according to a statement.

Some of the more piqued opposition came from Francis' usual critics.

German Cardinal Gerhard Muller, who previously headed the Vatican doctrine office, said the declaration was "self-contradictory" as it still said same-sex relationships were contrary to God's law while allowing same-sex couples to receive a blessing.

How many in the Catholic priesthood and its version of a political bureaucracy are closet GAY's themselves?

However, how many are willing to force him to step down and disrupt the Vatican comfortable apple cart they control and abuse, is also a good question?

eg: ... Catholics in Atlanta question Archbishop Wilton Gregory building a $2.2 million residence for himself.

#15  To my understanding, The Pope is first among equals although the Vatican has some power over who gets to be a bishop and who gets removed. St Nicholas was removed as a bishop and restored by a higher power. This will be sorted out at a level higher than The Vatican as it always is. Strickland was removed, Chaput was retired, but in the end only one vote counts. Church figures need to fear God’s opinion as the son’s of Eli found out.
