[Red State] For the sake of the Republican party, this better not be true, though there’s reason to believe it might be. We’ll do a little reading between the lines in a second.
A new report from Fox News is claiming that John Durham may be looking to "punt" the end of his investigation beyond the November election.
Two sources familiar with Durham’s investigation told Fox News this week that Durham is working expeditiously to try to finish the probe by the end of summer, but that several lines of investigation are not yet complete.
"He believes it’s critical to do them," one source said. "He is feeling more pressure to get this done and wrapped up."
The source also told Fox News that Durham "does not want this to be viewed political," and the closer it gets to November, Durham could "punt it to after the election."
On its face, this doesn’t seem very definitive to me. But I have worried that the DOJ may move to not release their findings in order to not "interfere" with the election. While that may seem ludicrous to those of us that have watched this unfold for years, don’t underestimate the pressure of bureaucratic decorum. Durham is not a partisan, he’s a careerist, and if he feels his work may be overly politicized, he may seek to protect it.
Julie Kelly, who’s been focused on this issue like a laser beam, responded this morning and appears to believe there’s some truth to it.
AG Barr reported on Fox yesterday that he "didn't know precisely where Durham was with the investigation, was not aware of a timeline, hadn't spoken to Durham lately, hadn't been following it" etc. (paraphrasing) A strange admission of lack of knowledge from a man alleged to be 'a brilliant legal mind' and top DoJ official. His statement was not exactly reassuring to say the least. Strange, very strange.

Quite frankly, only the disillusioned or naïve actually believe something will come out of this. It is all blah blah blah that gives Fox pundits and windbag former & current elected officials to talk about. And that's all it is: talk/blather.

Barr and Durham have one chance to do it right. Meanwhile we have been burning time by the ton.

Two sources familiar with Durham’s investigation
While I admit to being more than normally gullible, my first thought when I see unnamed, anonymous sources is whether this really comes from the inner circle or if this is Deep Staters making stuff up to cause trouble. Or even fake news fed to potential leakers to see who is leaking. Fox News is only less unfriendly to the Trump administration, now that the sons are in charge, which is not the same as actually friendly.
There were many, many convoluted schemes, some merely unethical, some criminal, some in grey areas.
And the people who were scheming have used every means possible to delay, to deceive, to mislead and, failing that, to fail to recollect.

Who would be prosecuting the Epstein/Maxwell, et. al. crimes (child-trafficking and other crimes against humanity)? Is it the Southern District of NY? Not a lot of confidence in the SDONY.
[FEE] Noo Yawk, Joizy and Mahssholistan. The rest of us will have to pay for the evil and stupidity of the left.
And New York State is really only Downstate — the region that encompasses New York City and the surrounding communities. Upstate and Western New York pretty much look like the rest of the country.

#10 (a) This is not a competition. (b) Even if it was, being better than NY, NJ, and Mass is hardly something to be proud of.
(c) Right now Texas has 125000 active cases. Given 5% percent mortality (for active cases) that works to 6250 deaths. And since infection rate increases, 6250 is just a start.
Now Florida is really f*cked because with current 200000 active cases and death rate of 11.5% it'll have 23000 deaths if no single additional person gets sick!.
The Dems are out to shut down the economy and hang everything on Trump; I have no qualms about doing the same to them -- particularly since doing so is justified by the record.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you aren't from the US, right?
If so, then you aren't facing the same stakes that we are.

That's why I see the forest, not just trees.

One of our prime ministers said "When USA has a cold, Israel has pneumonia."
+ As you probably noticed, I have a very different view of CV-19 significance than most here. In fact, I believe it's a bigger game changer than A bomb. So, the only country capable of stopping China - which unleashed biological weapons - playing silly bugger games, gets me mad!

Well I'm posting from Munich, as I always have. Why is this relevant?

I don't live there, you don't live here. You hear agenda anecdotes via the media (not so different here, admittedly). Since the start of the Chinese Virus, I personally know of no one that died of it, much less comorbidity complications, even among my extended family's (anecdotal) knowledge

and I, like several others here, live in San Diego County - in the newly so-called "Hot Zone" only because of Mexico

As a matter of fact I know more than ten people who got it. Nobody has died fortunately but the sniffles it was not.
This shouldn't be a political issue of right vs left. The virus is real, and a true SOB. We still know very little about it but it's serious and will continue to do harm.
It's not even guaranteed that people who went through it develop a lasting immunity. And the virus seems to be able to attack many vital organs and leave permanent damage.
Don't take this lightly.

in the newly so-called "Hot Zone" only because of Mexico
Now, if I were interested in scoring debating points, I'd say something like "This sounds as if you admit that quarantine rules imposed by the (D) Gov Newsom actually had some merit".
However, I'm not - I'm just tired of hearing "covid is a hoax imposed by democrats to destroy American economy and win election". In fact, given all the people outside USA who died of it, I find it aggravating.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
