[PJ] On Friday, Michael Savage -- conservative talk show host and Berkeley Ph.D. in nutritional ethnomedicine -- referenced Nathaniel West's classic 1939 novel about the burning of Los Angeles, The Day of the Locust, to describe what will occur in the USA should Trump be brought down by his assorted "Globalist" enemies.
People will "resort to mob violence" when they "are finally aware of the fact that they’ve been tricked by their society, and that no matter how hard they work as middle class people" they are denied."That is what’s going to happen in this country," Savage said. "You have not yet seen mob violence in this country. You’ve seen some mob violence instigated by George Soros’ mobs. ... But you haven’t seen the thing I’m telling you is coming in this country. You haven’t seen the ’Day of the Locust’ yet."
"Deplorables" gone wild and burning down our cities? Civil war?
Savage seems to agree that the common man, whom he names Eddie, would not be amused: "And if [the left] take(s) Trump down, through (Special Counsel Robert) Mueller or through any other source and deny Eddie his vote, there will be a civil war in this country."
As is well known, Savage, a onetime pal of Allen Ginsberg and other Beats, is now considered by many to be a "conservative extremist," therefore a fringe personality from the fever swamps of conspiracy land. Nevertheless, he is the no dummy and is the author of 40 books on subjects as disparate as Alzheimer's and beer-tasting, not to mention economics and politics. Few of his critics have anywhere near the vitae.
But that's the anecdotal part. The more important question is is he right -- is our democratic republic about to explode? Can the Deep State co-exist with an awakened populace, even a partially awakened one? Increasingly, beneath all the leaks and counter-leaks, the missing emails and accusations, what we are looking at is a sclerotic system that has become increasingly built on self-preservation and not on the people's will, in fact is largely disinterested in and disconnected from that will.

....what we are looking at is a sclerotic system (becoming rigid and unresponsive) losing the ability to adapt)that has become increasingly built on self-preservation and not on the people's will, in fact is largely disinterested in and disconnected from that will.
Simon describes the government of the past 50 years, possibly longer. The difference now is, they've been threatened.

IMHO, both. You listen to the left and it sounds like a nervous breakdown. You listen to the right and it sounds like civil war. Presently, we are somewhere in between. That could change at any time.
#5
Yes it is. All it needs is a small push to go in either direction. Currently it is on the path to a full nervous breakdown on the left. A coup or an attempt to seize power will be met with violence from the right and could lead to civil war.
We are really on the edge of something and I don't think it is good.

Our political leaders are acting in the same manner as the British parliament did in the 1700's. The political leaders today, like the British parliament are not taking our wishes into account, they feel they know better and we should just accept their desires. We elected a leader and they refuse to let him represent us. They pass bogus rules and investigate him in an effort to find a reason to remove him. The adage from the two parties is, "How dare the people vote someone that is not an elite member of our group". They, both sides are not representing us, they are on the edge of tyranny. Both sides are supporting the investigation of Russia and "Trump". They are not investigating the Russian influence, or they would be investigating the Dems and Fusion GPS as well. This is nothing more that a Coup by congress to remove the leader we elected to represent us. I'm no extremist, I swore an oath. It has no expiration date. Remember, it does not take the full society, only a few percent need to come together, to be pissed off enough to take action. They are not the fringe, Deplorable's gone wild, they are patriots, the 3% that have, and will, always defended this nation....

1700? Slightly before this time, Oliver Cromwell was Lord Protector of England, Ireland and Scotland. He and his Roundheads laid waste to Scotland and Ireland and killed many of the citizens of these two countries--it has been described as a "near genocide." He tossed out the Rump Parliament of England. He had the King executed. In other words, he drained the swamp of his day.
[FOX] Dan Bongino stated that Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is a fraud for supporting illegal leaks of sensitive information coming out of the White House.
"Maxine Waters is a fraud. And I don't use that term lightly. I can prove it to you. She's an actual fraud," the former Secret Service agent said on "Fox & Friends."
Although she swore to uphold the Constitution, Waters now suggests that people should "violate the Constitution," Bongino pointed out.
Waters said on "The View" yesterday that she is "not at all" concerned about the leaks.
"I am so glad they're telling us what's going on," Waters said. "I need to hear these conversations."
Waters asserted that many of those working in the White House do not believe in the president's agenda, and so undercut him by leaking.
Bongino reminded that the leaks work to "destroy our efforts at international diplomacy."
[TownHall] From the moment Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election, a plan was hatched to blame Russia for her historically epic loss and use it to hamstring Donald Trump’s presidency.
Always a hive-mind, Democrats in and out of the media could be counted on to do their parts, and they’ve done just that. But what started out as a few near-riot protests to keep their base angry has morphed into a slow-rolling coup.
The book "Shattered" documented how the Clinton campaign was not interested in an autopsy, it had a plan:
That strategy had been set within twenty-four hours of her concession speech. Mook and Podesta assembled her communications team at the Brooklyn headquarters to engineer the case that the election wasn’t entirely on the up-and-up. For a couple of hours, with Shake Shack containers littering the room, they went over the script they would pitch to the press and the public. Already, Russian hacking was the centerpiece of the argument.
From that, the idea that horrified Democrats during the campaign ‐ that one of the participants would refuse to accept the election results ‐ became an accepted, forgotten fact and the first salvo in what would become a sustained war against the duly-elected president.
Since that meeting, the media dutifully has gone over and above its duty to the cause. After eight years of slumber, print and cable news "journalists" became "woke" to the cause and blew past reporting to a level of propaganda activism that would make Leni Riefenstahl tell them to pump the brakes.
There has been enough embarrassment to go around, but none have beclowned themselves more than CNN’s Jim Acosta. He spent a month whining about not having the cameras on in the press briefing room to capture his antics and add to his sizzle reel so he could get his own show. Then, he showed himself to be the Forrest Gump of the press pool when he equated a poem written to raise money to build the base of the Statue of Liberty with actual law. He then proceeded to congratulate himself, repeatedly, for his performance.
But the media isn’t just a clown show of correspondents fumbling basic facts and shunning logic in its progressive pursuit of a new Nixon. It’s the PR wing of the Democratic Party’s "resistance." No story is too absurd, no leak too damaging to the nation’s security not to publish. After years of repeating Obama administration spoon-fed talking points, they media now gleefully reports anything that might damage the Trump administration for that sake alone.
The Washington Post published complete transcripts of President Trump’s phone conversations with the president of Mexico and the prime minister of Australia. There was no news value in them; they simply took out portions to present out-of-context to embarrass the president. That was enough for the Post to stop its presses, but it is a decision that will do real damage to the presidency and the country.

President Trump is hugely popular overseas. These leaked transcripts appear to be an attempt to isolate the President from contact with foreign leaders.

And I am still baffled as to why Trump & Co. do not pursue proceedings against Hillary, Loretta, Johnny P., and even N'Obama (surveillance) to name a few.

Ever since the cockroach infestation of the Whitehouse occurred with the Clintons moving in, the radicalization of DC began.
A lot of work and progress had been made in painting DC red over the past twenty five years that was to culminate with the coronation of the Red Queen from Berkeley Hillary regardless of the fact that it took voter fraud, murder, and violent militant force against the supporters of the white knight. The media was to transform the rest of the country but failed as the voters defeated "Progressivism" at the ballot box.
The Red Queen knows that her socialist kingdom after decades of work will soon be torn down and all of her leftists must go all the way out on the limb to save the kingdom and destroy the white knight. And they will do it via the only means possible, by impeachment of the President via the Senates Democrats and Establishment Rinos that they have total control thereof.
As Maxine boldly proclaimed this week after the progress of Mueller, "after Trump, Pence is next."

#4, I would suggest DC has always been willfully isolated for quite a long time. Now being more open we can see the poison has made its way into all areas in DC being it Government or private enterprises. Being open about it was contrary to normal operating procedures. In full view, they now are the targeted. The media has presented a false face to us all and the American people can see no truth in their presentations and have turned away. Hense revenue is declining rapidly.
[Jpost] The crisis that began three weeks ago with the murder of two border policeman near the Temple Mount did not ignite ‐ for the time being ‐ a third intifada.
Within a week, the country’s headlines shifted from the crisis on the Temple Mount to reports that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s once-trusted aide Ari Harow was about to turn state’s witness.
Within seven days, the palpable tension a jittery nation felt last week ‐ over whether the Friday Moslem prayers at al-Aksa Mosque would trigger a third intifada ‐ gave way to other news: Harow; Elor Azaria; the plight of the workers at Haifa Chemicals and at Teva; the Gay pride parade in Jerusalem; the Facebook feud between Netanyahu’s son, Yair, and Ariel Olmert, the son of Ehud Olmert, triggered by the younger Netanyahu’s alleged failure to pick up after his dog.

A few years ago in Israel there was a popular car sticker "Have Arabs, have terrorism". Of course, the supreme court forbade it - "racist don't you know". Just like Catholic Church once proclaiming that Earth is flat.
Grab a cup of the beverage of your choice, dear Reader, and set aside a bit of time. This is a long one.
[IsraelTimes] Authors Cathy Scott-Clark and Adrian Levy say while the West carefully curates the narrative of the global jihadi group, there was rife dissent over 9/11 and other ’policy’.
Over the past two decades, there have been a number of pivotal moments in which al-Qaeda’s ongoing war against the West has shifted the contours of global geopolitics. Most notably, the 9/11 attacks sent the "war on terror" into a whole new dimension -- first with the United States-led invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001, and then with the subsequent invasion of Iraq in March 2003.
Despite intensive military counter-operations, western understanding of al-Qaeda has been severely limited, primarily because governments and intelligence agencies tend to control and simplify narratives. No longer. A new book discusses the history of al-Qaeda’s forces -- with an insider’s perspective.

[Breitbart] "The one thing I’ve learned is that good conservative values have to be fought for and defended zealously at all time. We face huge enemies with the establishment and the media... and the biggest enemy of all that we face are those that are within in our ranks, those that masquerade as conservatives but actually follow liberal agendas," Farage said.
His comments come swiftly on the back of Senator John McCain’s rebuffing of a GOP bill to repeal Obamacare, and indeed Mr. Farage named Sen. McCain personally in his remarks.
"Who are the people really trying to stop the [Trump] agenda that won the election from succeeding? It isn’t the Democrats, it isn’t CNN. It’s John McCain and people in his own party," he said.
