Woman Beats Up Man for Urinating in Closet
A 19-year-old woman who beat up her ex-boyfriend Monday after he drunkenly urinated in a closet told officers she hoped he would bail her out of jail because it was the right thing to do for their baby.

Bremerton police were called to the residence on the 1300 block of Warren Avenue at 2:40 a.m. after receiving initial reports that the 25-year-old had assaulted the woman, reports said.

When met by officers, the woman explained that the man had been drinking and was extremely intoxicated when he went to bed. At some point he woke up to use the restroom, but was so confused he urinated in the closet.

This embarrassed him, she said, so he tried to leave. But she wouldn't allow it.

"I attacked him," she told the officer, reports said. "He was so drunk that I beat the (stuff) out of him." . . .

Another Military Fake Busted, Plus New CA MF Law
The new director of the Three Valleys Municipal Water District in Claremont introduced himself with tales so harrowing, so seemingly courageous, that people took notice.

Fellow board member Dan Horan said Xavier Alvarez told him he saved a U.S. ambassador – and the American flag – while wounded by gunfire during a daring rooftop helicopter rescue in Lebanon. Horan said he was puzzled when Alvarez, a board member elected in 2006, later changed his story to say it happened in Iran. And he was skeptical when his colleague also bragged of rescuing Marines pinned down by Viet Cong gunfire in Vietnam.

On Sept. 26, authorities charged Alvarez, 49, with violating a 2005 federal "Stolen Valor Act" by standing up at a gathering of water officials in July and announcing he was a wounded veteran, 25-year Marine and a recipient of the fabled Congressional Medal of Honor. Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig Missakian, who is prosecuting the case, said Alvarez never served in the military.

To state Assemblyman Paul Cook, R-Yucca Valley, the case represents just one of many – far too many – episodes of people impersonating veterans, embellishing service records or claiming medals they never earned. Cook, a Marine Corps veteran and a Purple Heart recipient in the Vietnam War, this year pushed through a California version of the Stolen Valor Act.

The law, which takes effect Tuesday, adds another tier of enforcement to the federal act by allowing state and local law enforcement to cite anyone who falsely dons or claims a military medal or decoration the person didn't earn. Expanding upon an existing state statute allowing misdemeanor citations against people who falsely claim to be active service members or veterans, the law makes it an infraction to lie about military awards on a job application or in an interview or by boasting in public about medals never earned.

Cook said Assembly Bill 282 is needed because – save for a few federal prosecutions – "the FBI has bigger fish to fry" and there are simply too many cases of "repugnant" phony heroes whose lies defame the service of honorable veterans.

Some of the offenders are real veterans embellishing their service. Last summer, the FBI charged Augustine Hernandez, 76, of Montebello with posing as a U.S. Army general and wearing the Purple Heart and Bronze Star to a memorial ceremony – even though he retired from the U.S. Army as a private in 1954 with no such medals.

In 2002, a Roseville man, Justin McCauley, came home after serving as a Navy ordinanceman on the U.S. Kitty Hawk and falsely claimed in a Bee interview he was a Navy SEAL wounded in ground conflict in Afghanistan.

Others may have political or financial motives. In September, sentences and guilty pleas were announced for six Washington men charged with lying about their military service, including anti-war protester Jesse MacBeth, 23. He claimed to be a decorated Army Ranger who participated in Iraq atrocities, but he'd been discharged after a month in the Army in the United States.

Another Washington man, Reggie Buddle, 60, was convicted of posing as a Marine Corps chaplain so he could perform weddings, funerals and baptisms. Still another, Larry Lewis Porter, 52, was sentenced for making up combat experiences to fraudulently seek naval disability benefits for post-traumatic stress.

The new California law would penalize bogus warriors with an infraction and a $250 fine. But that is well below federal penalties allowing a $5,000 fine and six months in prison for lying about military honors. The federal law also imposes up to a year in prison for wrongly claiming the Congressional Medal of Honor or top military awards including the Army Distinguished Service Cross, the Navy Cross, the Air Force Cross, the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.

Cook, who unsuccessfully pushed for a felony statute in California, said he is seeking public humiliation for people peddling phony stories of heroism.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
There are better ways to spend Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve downright stunk for Robert Schoff of Des Moines, but he was able to laugh about it by Tuesday. Firefighters had to rescue the 77-year-old when he got stuck in the opening to his septic tank. He had dug a hole and reached inside to find a clog when he lost his balance and became wedged.

"It wasn't good, I'll tell you what," said Schoff, of 4300 N.E. 27th St. "It was the worst Christmas Eve I've ever had,"

The 5-foot-5-inch, 135-pound Schoff hollered, screamed, and hoped his wife, Toni, would hear his cries for help. He waited for an hour until she walked by a window and noticed feet in the air. "I saw these kicking feet and ran out, but couldn't get him out," Toni Schoff said.

She went to the house and called 911, and two Polk County sheriff's deputies arrived to yank her husband out.

A Delaware Township rescue crew took Schoff to the hospital, where he was treated for bruises and a ruptured eardrum. "How that happened, I don't know," he said. "I thought it was the end of my life. Thank God my wife saw me. I don't think I could have stood staying in there much more. She's my lifesaver."

Man dies after marathon lap dance session at strip club
Now this is the way to go...
PORT RICHEY - Until the tragic finish, Jason Transue was having quite a night at the strip club. The 28-year-old went to the Brass Flamingo, an all-nude gentleman's club on U.S. 19, about 8 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

He sat near the center stage to take in the entertainment. Dancer Vicky Gloria noticed he was spending money freely, so she invited him to the "Champagne Room" for a private dance. He accepted. Transue paid for one 30-minute dance, then wanted another, and another.

The private session lasted more than two hours. All the while, Transue was "drinking heavily," Gloria told investigators. About 1 a.m., she asked some male employees to move Transue to another room so he could sleep. Club employees checked on him periodically, according to an investigator's report. At 2 a.m., someone noticed he had no pulse and was not breathing. A manager called 911.
Woo hoo! Unnnnnnh ... rosebud ... thump.
But Transue was already dead.
He's dead, Vicki...
He was a health care technician with no criminal record. He lived in Hudson, where a roommate told investigators Transue's only family lived in New York.

Pasco sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said there were no signs of foul play. Toxicology tests will be performed to determine Transue's cause of death. Results could take up to six weeks. Gloria told investigators she did not see him take any drugs. "It's not very often," Tobin said, "that we have somebody go in the Brass Flamingo and wind up deceased."
Tune in again next week for another episode of "Tales of the Brass Flamingo"...

Miss France dethroned over sexy photos
THE president of the Miss France beauty pageant has demanded the winner of the 2008 competition hand back her crown after a magazine published suggestive photographs of the 22-year old model. "If she had some courage and a bit of dignity she would say 'I'm resigning because I'm not worthy to carry on as Miss France'," the head of the Miss France committee, Genevieve de Fontenay, said on Europe 1 radio.

Valerie Begue, who comes from the French-run, Indian Ocean island of Reunion, was elected Miss France 2008 on prime time television earlier this month. She has ruled out standing down, saying the pictures were published without her consent. The photos showed the bikini-clad brunette floating in a swimming pool on a wooden cross in a Christ-like pose. Another one showed her licking condensed milk in a provocative fashion.
clearly a talented girl
healthy lass, milk clearly is good for you ...
Anyone standing for the Miss France crown has to sign a contract saying they had never been photographed in the nude or in suggestive poses. "If I had been aware (of the pictures), she would never have been let into the Miss France competition I wouldn't want to be seen walking down the streets with a girl like that," Ms Fontenay said, ...
... licking condensed milk is a no-no ...
... so is eating crackers in bed, not that I'd complain in this case ...
... indicating she would take legal action if necessary.

It is not the first time the competition organisers have been embarrassed by their queen. The 2004 Miss France, Laeticia Bleger, was suspended for six months after photos of her surfaced in Playboy.

An 'encounter' tale: Manisha’s three kidnappers killed
Inspector Dakshinamurthy will be visiting the 4 remaining accused shortly
Will he be bringing the number 7 pliers?
"Into the isolation booth, Panu! You're the next contestant on the popular new game show, Quiz Time with the Inspector! And now for your first question: What color is my lucky truncheon?"
WARANGAL: Three of the seven accused in the eleven-year-old girl Manisha’s kidnap and murder case were killed in an encounter with the police in the wee hours of Wednesday at Thatikayala village in Dharmasagar mandal here.
At the very village well where they killed the little girl and dumped her body.
The heart [urp!] bleeds.
The three accused — Thokala Raju, L. Ashok and B. Naresh — were taken to the scene of offence by the police to reconstruct the case. As they reached the agricultural well on the outskirts of Thatikayala village, Thokala Raju snatched a 9 mm pistol from Circle Inspector K. Dakshinamurthy’s trousers and began firing even as he tried fleeing from the spot.
So Raju had his hand in the Inspector's trousers?
"He grabbed my gun and tried to get away. I never thought he had it in him, wearing those leg irons and his hands cuffed behind his back and all."
Taken aback by the sudden development, Sub-Inspector B. Ravinder and other policemen sprang into action and hit back.
[BANG! BANG! BANGETY BANG!]
The other two associates who tried to escape were also killed in the firing.
"Aaaaiiiieeee!" [THUD!]
"Aaaaiiiieeee!" [THUD!]
"Rosebud!"
"Rosebud!"
"They're dead, Jim!"
They got between Raju and the Sub-Inspector you see
No, that's a 'crossfire'. This is a 'encounter', you don't have to explain entry wounds in the back.
In a 'crossfire' the entry wounds are always behind the ears ...
The shocked police officer Dakshinamurthy told newsmen that had they not been alert, the accused would have killed them.
"Yeah. Really. Coulda banged the lot of us!"
“I am shocked at the courage of Raju who chose to kill us and escape,” he said, sweating.
An even more shocked Raju had his hand down his trousers
Raju was kinda shocked there at the end, too.
Raju was a rowdy-sheeter accused on twelve systems in several cases including a double murder case in different police stations in the Warangal town. Another deceased in the encounter L. Ashok was a butcher by vocation. He was known to beat up his brother and other members of his family often. When the police caught him on Sunday evening, he was planning to murder his old rival.
Clearly a candidate for a preemptive encounter
The police seized a sword from him. The third accused B. Naresh works as a ‘hamali’ and was involved in a road accident case.
real upstanding fellows
At the Thatikayala village, hundreds of people gathered at the encounter site to have a look at the bodies of the cruel men.

#2  ‘Killers got what they deserved’

Hundreds of women and children who came to the encounter site on the outskirts of Thatikayala village said the three got the right punishment. A class IX student Ashwini who reached the spot to have a look at the three dead said her parents had stopped her from attending school for 15 days after Manisha’s kidnap came to light. Everybody in the village feared for the safety of their children. “We are happy to see them dead. They are heartless people who killed the innocent girl. Whoever kidnaps children should be killed like this,” the girl said.

Swapna, a class IX girl who was also at the spot with other children said the killers deserved the punishment.

“The police did a good job. Otherwise they will again harm others after coming out of jail,” she said.

by the way - Coronado cops are, and always will be, dicks. Anyone working at North Island NAS would agree...too much time on their hands
