#1  The victims' brother made a statement at the vigil that the deaths have nothing to do with religion.

The name of the victim's brother which this MSM artcle conveniently leaves out is 'Islam Said'. Another fact about honor killings this MSM article left out is that usually the taking of a sister or sisters lives is agreed upon by the males in the Muslim family, such as brothers, uncles, etc.. Normally these males assist in that effort.

So the brother saying it was not religion is in my opinion his attempt to not bring additional shame to the family's sick ideology.

#2  It sounds like the father did not consult with anyone else in the family about killing his daughters. Does this mean it was murder, plain and simple, even in the eyes of another muslim?

If so, then no matter how you cut it, this a-hole has a huge problem. He won't be able to retroactively attribute it to religion instead of the usual pride begotten by insecurity.

Body 'presumably' Tijuana police commander's
Just a reminder that the WOT and drug gangs isn't so far away
One of two bodies found Thursday morning in Rosarito Beach may be that of a Tijuana police commander who was abducted from his house Sunday, investigators said.

Francisco Javier Robles, director of the Baja California Ministerial Police, said one of the bodies “presumably” was that of Jesus Alberto Rodriguez Meraz, commander of a police substation near the U.S. border in the Otay Mesa district known as El Centenario.

A group of armed assailants grabbed Meraz and another man on Sunday night at Meraz's residence in the Los Alamos section of the city.

#2  El Centenario

Shouldn't that be El Centro?
Posted by: Whomong Guelph4611 || 01/04/2008 9:17 Comments || Top||

#3  And the answer is:

The municipality of Tijuana is divided into administrative boroughs (delegaciones, in Spanish) of which the city of Tijuana occupies nine, which are in turn divided into colonias. These boroughs offer administrative services such as urban planning, civil registry, inspection, verification, public works and community development and are served by a delegado.

The boroughs are:

Centenario — This is the borough with the largest number of factories and maquiladoras. Its largest colony is Ciudad Industrial ("Industrial City"). Three of the city's most important streets, Boulevard Bellas Artes, Boulevard Industrial and Tijuana-Tecate Highway, are located here.

I edited the rest. From wikipedia.

Former Beauty Queen Kidnaps, Tortures, Robs Boyfriend

"Leave Britney alone!"
TUCSON, Ariz. — A former beauty queen accused of biting and torturing her ex-boyfriend over missing jewelry is out on bond while authorities search for another ex-boyfriend that police say helped her kidnap and assault the victim.

Kumari Fulbright, a former Miss Pima County and current University of Arizona law school student, was indicted on Dec. 18 on felony charges of armed robbery, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and two counts of aggravated assault related to allegedly holding her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend hostage.

The 25-year-old, midway through her second year in law school, faces a long prison term if convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated robbery and two counts of aggravated assault.

#11  Do you find many law students trying meth?

Looks like she was way beyond "trying" meth to me! Of course, it doesn't take long for meth to ravage a user.

Check out this gallery. Mouse over the pics for the "after" shot. Poke around the rest of the site and see what you think. It's an eye-opener if you haven't been introduced to meth abuse yet. Probably good for scaring the crap out of your kids about drugs if you haven't done it yet.

Bangladesh
Chittagong top goon 'Kana' Bakkar held after gunfight
Police yesterday arrested a top criminal after he was injured in an 'encounter' between his associates and the law enforcers in the city's Lalkhan Bazar.

Sources said Abu Bakkar alias Kana Bakkar, 35, received four bullets in his hands and legs in the encounter at Bagghona of Lalkhan Bazar at about 2:00am.
I didn't realize the RAB was hiring Paleo gunnies to do their work ...
Might be a case of interrogation by kneecapping.
After exchanging 50 rounds of bullet with the policemen, Bakkar's associates fled the scene leaving him.
Were they even ever there?
Police took seriously injured Bakkar to the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital where the on-duty doctors performed an operation on him and removed four bullets.
And left six others just as a reminder ...
The law enforcers recovered 13 bullets, a gun, an LG and six cartridges from the scene.

Officer-in-charge of Khulshi Police Station Kazi Shahabuddin, Assistant Sub-inspector Harunur Rashid and Constable Abdul Wadud were also injured in the incident.

Khulshi police yesterday filed two fresh cases against Bakkar. Bakkar, a top criminal backed by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), already had 19 cases filed against him on twelve systems different charges including murder, robbery and rape.

#4  I notice they list the bullets and the cartridges separately. Black powder? Slings? Thrown real hard?

#5  LG? Possibly they mean Long Gun (Rifle) translation seems full of errors.

By the way, a "Stutter Gun" is an automatic rifle (Like a BAR), think the "Shutter Gun" has been explained?

#6  I just visited the official RAB website. They have a list of weapons seized over the past year and have them broken down into the following catagories:

Kata Rifle
Revolver
Pistol
SBBL Gun
Pipe Gun
Local Gun (LG)
Shutter Gun
Shooter Gun
Shot Gun
Air Gun

That should clear things up, right?
Posted by: Steve || 01/04/2008 11:56 Comments || Top||

#7  Still doesn't tell us what a shutter gun is. Hmmmph.
Posted by: Steve White || 01/04/2008 15:40 Comments || Top||

#8  i kinda think mr. kana bakkar is one lucky guy; he didn't get to utter the famous RAB Tag line: ( all together now) "rosebud,"
and thus deprived us of the obligatory: "He's dead, Jim."

Four robbers beaten to death in two dists
Four robbers were beaten to death in Narsingdi and Mymensingh yesterday and on Wednesday night.

In Narsingdi, villagers beat two robbers to death at Sheker Char Fultola village under Sadar upazila early yesterday. They were identified as Sagar, 22, and Sujan, 20.

Local people said the two along with their accomplices stormed into the house of Promod Saha at about 3;00am and started looting valuables. When the family members cried for help, neighbours rushed to the spot and caught three of the gang. They beat them up, killing Sagar and Sujan on the spot and injuring Amir Hossain, 18. The villagers later handed over Amir to the police.
Texas style!
In Mymensingh, two robbers were beaten to death by a mob on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Kashibazar in Trishal upazila on Wednesday night.

Police said a gang of five robbers swooped on the pedestrians on the highway at about 10:00pm. Hearing the news, locals rushed to the spot and caught two of the gang, identified as Dulal, 35, and Jamal, 40. They beat up the two, killing them on the spot.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

#3  Not much different than Texas. We tend to use implements to apply the damage is all. Just proves that guns don't kill, humans do. And also shows that cops arrive only after the real action is over. You're on your own everywhere, figure it out.
