Spitzer hooker in Sheen 'threesome'
HOLLYWOOD heavyweight Charlie Sheen has been dragged into the Eliot Spitzer call girl scandal with claims he solicited Ashley Dupre's services.

Jason Itzler, 41, self-styled dirtbag King of All Pimps, has claimed he sent Dupre, under the name Victoria, and another girl, Cheryl, report Daily Record. He said the girls dressed up as cheerleaders for a threesome with the actor, costing him up to $20,000 a session. "Sheen got the girls to dress up as cheerleaders and chant his name while performing sex acts.

"They loved Charlie. They said he was a great guy. A great lover.

"One time he had them dressed up like cheerleaders, chanting 'Charlie! Charlie! He's our man. If he can't do it, nobody can!'"

Itzler added Sheen also liked to pretend to be a porn film director and got the women to act out various lesbian scenes for him. Sheen, who has admitted using hookers, denied the story when it broke two years ago.

900 Feet Up With Nowhere to Go but Down
video at link

MOAB, Utah — He had learned this extreme form of tightrope walking from a homeless man who wrote books on quantum physics. But that was years ago, while goofing around on a flexible piece of nylon webbing tied close to the ground between a tree and the bumper of a Chevy van.

This was something else entirely for Dean Potter, one of the worldÂ’s best climbers, barefoot in the dying sun last Friday, walking between ledges of a U-shaped rim above Hell Roaring Canyon, a 400-foot sheer sandstone wall on his right, a 900-foot drop to a dry riverbed on his left. No leash tethered him to the rope. Nothing attached him to earth but the grip of his size-14 feet and the confident belief that, if needed, his parachute would open quickly and cleanly and not slam him into the canyon wall.

At 6 feet 5 inches and 180 pounds, wirily strong, Potter dressed in jeans and blue T-shirt emblazoned with a hawk. He wore a wide headband over unruly hair, gaining the appearance of a less gaunt and reckless Keith Richards as Alpine daredevil. As Potter stepped onto the 180-foot rope — a strand of iridescent blue against desiccated canyon shades of brick and tan and coppery green — he was believed to be the first person to combine the adventure sports of highlining and BASE-jumping.

He was also taking another stride toward his longing for avian flight, not as a birdman in a nylon wing suit or squirrel suit, which he had tried, but as a soloist who could jump off a cliff in a way that he did not yet understand, with a strength and concentration that he did not yet possess, and simply fly. Trance music pulsed from speakers on the canyon ledge with knowing lyrics: “Sometimes I think my dreams are wild.”

-------

Potter, an Army brat who grew up in New Hampshire, began slacklining in 1993 under the tutelage of a Yosemite character named Chongo, famous among climbers for his itinerant lifestyle and his obsessive musings on theoretical physics.

On his Web site, chongonation.com, Chongo warned that even for rock-climbing experts and extreme sport professionals, a misstep while highlining could result in serious Newtonian consequences of action and equal and opposite reaction.

Last Thursday at Hell Roaring Canyon, Potter believed he was finally ready to walk the 180-foot rope while tethered to a leash around his waist. During a couple weeks of rehearsal, he had felt exposed on the rope, with a touch of vertigo. A parabola of sandstone curved off to his right, never more than 60 feet away. To his left, the gorge yawned a half-mile wide. Straight ahead, the rope was anchored to a narrow promontory that seemed to hover, drawing his vision a mile down the canyon.

“When I get in the middle, an emptiness takes over,” Potter said. “I felt a little helpless.”

#5  Thank you all so very much. Dave had so many friends, many of whom are just now finding out about his death. He had chronic health problems, but the suddenness of it was an awful shock to us all.
And of course, everyone is treating me with kid gloves, expecting me to go completely unglued from the experience of being the one to find him. I haven't yet. Maybe I should just fake a fit or something, just to get it over with.

#8  No, Muggsy. He was a new age (in the sense of the internet) guy. I was sometimes paid through paypal, or cash, or whatever. The friends he spent all of Friday with said he had a hell of a headache, and didn't feel well at all. They brought him home after taking his car to the shop. He last talked to someone on the phone about 10 PM.
Just got back from his place, spending a couple of hours sorting things out with his other employee/friend. We were both actually rather calm - I think having to focus on the things that had to be done, about his place, the clients and his businesses was kind of steadying.

Oh, I'll probably cry buckets at the service. He was someone that I relied on... and now he isn't there any more.

Obama Converts to Judaism (humor)
Buffeted by criticism of his controversial Christian pastor while continuing to quell rumors that he is a Muslim, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill) took a bold step today to settle questions about his religious faith once and for all. "I am converting to Judaism, effective immediately," Mr. Obama told reporters at a press conference in Scarsdale, New York, adding that he would change his middle name from "Hussein" to "Murray."

As a sign of commitment to his new faith, the Illinois Senator said that he anticipated being Bar Mitzvahed sometime between now and the crucial Pennsylvania primary and that he would no longer campaign on Saturdays.

In a subtle sign of the shift in his religious affiliation, Mr. Obama's signature catchphrase "Yes, we can," was nowhere to be found in his speech, replaced instead by "L'Chaim."

Girl killed over honour
A 22-year-old girl was stabbed to death by her two brothers for honour in Baghbanpura on Saturday. The victim was identified as Shahnaz, daughter of Faqeer Hussain. The police said that ShanazÂ’s brothers, Babar Hussain and Shaukat Ali, had had a grudge against Shahnaz. On Saturday, they thrashed her to death. The police registered a case against the accused and sent the body to the city morgue for an autopsy.

Wrecks of HMAS Sydney and German Raider Kormoran Found
The group searching for HMAS Sydney has found the wreckage of the World War II Australian warship off the coast of Western Australia, the ABC has confirmed. The breakthrough by the Finding Sydney Foundation comes less than 24 hours after it announced it had located the wreckage of the German raider Kormoran, which also sank after a battle with the Sydney in November 1941.

The Sydney's entire crew of 645 went down with the ship in the Indian Ocean and its location has been a mystery for 66 years. The Australian ship was last seen badly damaged and steaming over the horizon after the exchange of gunfire with the Kormoran, which also sank after the battle.

Members of the crew on the research ship the Geosounder found the Kormoran using sonar technology and were confident of locating the Sydney. The wreckage of the Kormoran was found about 100 nautical miles off Steep Point, more than two kilometres below the ocean's surface, and the Sydney was found just 10 nautical miles west.

Chief executive officer of the Finding Sydney Foundation Bob Trotter says although the experts have been working in very deep water, they can be sure of their findings. "Very sure. David Mann's our project director on the water out there, has done this about 30 times before in very deep water and he's probably the world's best at finding manmade objects at the bottom of the sea in very deep water," he said.

Royce Laycock was son of an engine stoker who worked on the ship and was only four when his father died. "It's good news to know that they've found the ship, because you really didn't realise or know what happened," he said. "I've read all the books and stories and publications over the 66 years, and it's just good news."

The son of another sailor who died on the Sydney, Bob Honour, says it is an important discovery. "It's been a 66-year wait. Why?" he said. "Because they were trying to hide something? I don't know, I have no idea, I don't really care now. I'm happy to think they have found it after so long."

Lee O'Neill's father also went down with the ship, and he says he hopes the finding will bring closure to the families. "I've always wondered how a ship like that could lose all men," he said. "I've read so many books on it and heard so many different stories and spoken to people. Things to me just don't add up. I realise it won't bring him back and I accept that, but I just want to know what happened."

Even before an official announcement, federal politicians are having their say about how the discovery site should be commemorated. Coalition backbencher Bruce Scott says the wreck of the Sydney should be left as a permanent war grave. "It should be left with all on board to rest in peace. And the same with the Kormoran," he said. "It's a war grave and it should be left as other ships have around the world from the First and Second World Wars - on the sea bed.

"I think that's the way the sailors who went down with the Sydney would like to think it was that way as well, particularly the families."

Naval Association spokesman Les Dywer says it was a major discovery. "[I am] absolutely excited that they've finally unravelled the resting place of one of the greatest naval mysteries ever," he said.
"From hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee."

#6  They tried that routine once before with Texas. After they attacked American troops in 1846, they saw the US occupy Mexico City in 1847 and on 2 Feb 1848 signed the Treaty of Hidalgo Guadalupe giving up claims to Texas, California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Try it again, and we'll take the rest.

#7  Actually, we bought it.
We could have annexed Mexico after the Mexican-American war. A lot of Congressmen did not want to absorb a bunch of "those people" (Catholics) into the country. So we purchased California, New Mexico and Arizona.
Texas used to be part of Mexico too. Maybe they will try to take that back too.

Well... If we don't do something about controlling our border with Mexico that may very well happen. We've been inundated with these squatters now for years. As they build mass and gain political influence (more than they already have) I can't see our feckless politicians have the gonads to do anything about it.

We really are in danger of losing California, and maybe a few other Southwestern states as well. Of course, this may be by design. I know there are many people here that do not accept the worries expressed by folks citing the NAU...but every sign points to that as an eventually that certain forces are attempting to bring into reality.

Mexican schools have taught for decades that the U.S. stole these states, and now American schools (some of them) are teaching the same revised history.

#14  We really are in danger of losing California, and maybe a few other Southwestern states as well

Don't count New Mexico in that pool. The real Native Americas hold a lasting grudge against the 'conquistadors'. Outside of Alaska, NM has one of the largest, if not largest, Native American populations. Nearly every time there is celebration of Hispanic historical heritage, the native make their voices heard. They're not impressed by the 'lost lands' argument of the activists. They have their own long list of trials and tribulations they suffered under Spanish and Mexican rule.

#15  Legal Mexican immigrants to the USA also aren't very keen on going home to Mexico or having California become part of Mexico again.

"I'll pick up a gun before I let any part of this country be taken over by that shithole," one of them once told me.

Now, if we could only get a few of those kinds of people to actually go home with their convictions (and guns)...

#44  How many blacks and asians are in power in Toronto?

Don't know. We had a Jewish mayor. Does that count as "asian" in your opinion?

#45  Toranto Troll, [paleo puke]

My vote, Rantburg's Own, Joe Mendiola. If willing..

Joe could use him for KA-BAR practice, and depending on his mood make long or short work of him her or it..

#46  Is that a threat? Should I be escalating this to the appropriate authorities? Fred? Should I file a police complaint? (in case they find me floating in lake Ontario, so that they'll know where to start their investigation).
I'm serious about this.

#47  Is Rantburg now resorting to threatening death?
Posted by: CR || 03/16/2008 19:32 Comments || Top||

#48  Waaaaah. Waaaaaah.

Want some cheese with that whiiiiiine, troll?

#49  Online threats of death or bodily injury is a class 6 felony in your country, I believe, and there are plenty of precedents.
Posted by: CR || 03/16/2008 19:36 Comments || Top||

#50  Considering the fact that Joe lives in Guam, and hasn't been part of this discussion with a self-centered troll - but I repeat myself, I don't see a threat. Of course, I'm not privy to what your mother is saying to you from the top of the stairs.

Here, have some cheese....

#51  since none of us know who you actually are - the very definition of "anonymous troll" - nice try making it stick. But be honest to yourself whether you want to expose yourself , and your Mom's basement computer IP.....?

Once a loser, always a loser.

#52  For one reason or another it wouldn't be difficult for Fred to find out who I am, my address, etc.

Veiled threats is where I draw the line. It's too bad Rantburg stooped to this level.

#55  CR, I understand your anxiety. I suggest you contact mac-d-only to prepare for immediate extraction to a safe house in Afghanistan. It's been great having you here. We'll miss you; but, your safety is paramount to all of us here at the 'burg. Don't forget to keep your seat belt fastened.

#56  CR...file the un-veiled Dire Complaint with your elite Human Rights (Inquisition) Commission! The HRC will move it to the top of their Dire Stack if it is tear stained!

#57  Don't worry CR, if you come here you should know what to expect from the Rantburgers... They have leveled threats at many people that stumble over this site... I have been observing what happens here for some time. However I do try to stay out of the ring most nights. I find that all but the trailing wife are somewhat maniacal, I rarely agree with her but she will debate a point with only a few mild insults... If you want to intelligably debate someone, check her out sometime!!!
