Kalashnikov President Alan Lushnikov noted that the new rifle has the same reliability as the world-famous SVD (Dragunov sniper rifle). He added that the concern continues to produce the Dragunov rifle.
On December 13 , Regnum news agency reported on the creation in Russia of a new lightweight self-loading sniper and assault rifle in the interchangeable caliber 308 win (7.62×51). It is capable of automatic fire and should replace the LAR-10 “Counter” and “Smersh” rifles.
One of its advantages will be its lightweight weight - only 3.6 kg. Another fundamental feature of the new rifle is the ability to install replaceable cylinders, which will allow it to work both as a rifle and as an assault rifle. It was clarified that the production of all parts will be on the basis of the rifle manufacturer - Lobaev Arms, which will allow for more complete control over their quality.
