President Barack Obama is slated to deliver a prime-time address on Tuesday night in which he'll lay out his plans for the American war in Afghanistan. The address before the United States Military Academy at West Point on Tuesday night will not only be used to announce the immediate order to deploy roughly 30,000 more troops, but the administration will also use the occasion to convey how it intends to turn the fight over to the Kabul government, the New York Times reported.
But the administration may also face an unforeseen enemy as it lays out its long-awaited plans. And they are loud and they are legion: We're talking about preschoolers and their parents.
That's because ABC-TV was scheduled to present its annual screening of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at 8 p.m. tomorrow night. And we don't know about you, but that show is pretty sacrosanct around our house and not to be trifled with lightly.
A call to the White House may be in order here. We hear it's pretty easy to get through these days

I hear that the first group is basically Marines, so picking West Point for your background photo opt is another example of keen White House understanding of the military. The second part about "to turn the fight over to the Kabul government" smacks of pure Vietnamization. How'd that work out? So, it looks like we're going to have to allow the enemy freedom of movement up to and in our own borders [as in 9/11] with the expansion of the inept Homeland Security with more powers to control its citizens rather than really cleaning the nest of vipers in the first place. Hopey Changey.

He won't run, 746. He's enjoying a well-earnt retirement and the privilege of age to say exactly what he thinks. But what a fun ticket Condoleeza Rice-Dick Cheney would be, if only they would.

That combination would certainly bring the...impassioned... out of the woodwork, Dr. Steve. Can you imagine the outcry that Ms. Sarah is merely Chainey's sock-puppet?

VARIOUS GUAM LOCALS > opine that, ala VIETNAM WAR, its very hard to win WW2-style "TOTAL VICTORY" goals wid KOREAN-VIETNAM WAR-style "POLICE ACTION/LIMITED-HALF WAR" methods, regardless of the merits. Also ala VIETNAM, the [tansient/tempor]US-ALLIED milfors are fighting agz the peoples whom permanently live there + whom historic WAGE "PEOPLE'S/GUERILLA WAR" WHERE OUTLASTING THE ENEMY = ENEMY'S PATIENCE IS MORE IMPOR THAN PER SE BATTLEFIELD-COMBAT VICTORIES.
On GEOPOLX, believe that POTUS BAMMER CAN'T NUKE THE AFPAK LOCALS [MilTerrs] UNLESS THE US IS WILLING TOR RISK RUSSIA, CHINA, etc. + NUCLEAR TERRORISTS NUKE THE US IN RETURN. The GOOD NEWS for the USA + Obama is that the US Economy is curr so weak or bad, + getting worse under the BAMMER, that YOUNG AMERS HAVE NO REAL CHOICE BUT TO JOIN THE MILITARY. REGIONAL WARS) BEYOND AFPAK WOULD PROB BE IN THE BAMMER'S = USA's POLECON INTERESTS RIGHT NOW!
A friend sends along the following chart from a J.P. Morgan research report. It examines the prior private sector experience of the cabinet officials since 1900 that one might expect a president to turn to in seeking advice about helping the economy. It includes secretaries of State, Commerce, Treasury, Agriculture, Interior, Labor, Transportation, Energy, and Housing & Urban Development, and excludes Postmaster General, Navy, War, Health, Education & Welfare, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security432 cabinet members in all.
When one considers that public sector employment has ranged since the 1950s at between 15 percent and 19 percent of the population, the makeup of the current cabinetover 90 percent of its prior experience was in the public sectoris remarkable.

Since you have a socialist agenda, why in heavens name would you hire actual capitalists? This makes perfect sense given when the One wants to take us. I'm simply wondering when the torches and pitchforks start coming out....
