Sonny Boy's Humorous Blunder
SEOUL, Feb. 21 -- Goof or genius?
Goof. Of Qadaffi proportions.
Last week, North Korea's official television station aired footage of leader Kim Jong-il's past military inspections, during which his third son and heir apparent, Kim Jong-un, was seen watching a tank drill while apparently holding a pair of binoculars upside down.
Pic at the link. Yup, they're upside down.
The scene, belatedly discovered by South Korean journalists on Monday, was considered a rare blunder by North Korea's official media that spares no austerity in praising the ruling dynasty. It also contrasted with the intensifying cult of personality surrounding the 20-something man that the communist regime unveiled to the world as a four-star general in September last year.

Many South Korean Internet users appeared to be ready to disagree that Kim Jong-un could be so gifted as a military commander, as they looked at the footage of him holding binoculars.

"What a hilarious guy!" Woo Chang-wook said on Nate, referring to Kim. "You're making me laugh big-time!"

"The dark future of North Korea seems to be contained in those binoculars," Im Hyun-ju said on the same major portal site, calling Kim "dimwitted."

A brief bout of controversy even erupted on the Internet, with some users siding with Kim and saying that the binoculars were held rightly, an indication of the growing public scrutiny surrounding the young man anointed as successor to the nuclear-armed North.

The footage that showed Kim Jong-un holding binoculars was aired on Feb. 16, the 69th birthday of Kim Jong-il.

#2  Who'll dare hold a binocular upside up from now on?

That would be a sign of subversion wouldn't it?

#3  Couldn't he tell something was wrong when he realized the little figures in the image were all upside down? Or maybe they were new type of binocular with special nose cup for runny nose from eating too much kimche. Or maybe he's a goof AND a genius.

#5  Good thing he wasn't looking across the DMZ with the binoculars backwards.

Now Indiana Dems bravely run away
The sissies left two behind for procedural purposes.

Now might be the time to enact a bunch of legislation that requires a simple majority of those present. Just sayin' ....

#1  Now might be the time to enact a bunch of legislation that requires a simple majority of those present.

I believe the Wisconsin Republicans planned to start voting today on items that needed only a simple majority -- which I think is just about everything except disbursing money, ie budget.

#3  Nah, just pass a law that any elected official that flees the state to avoid fulfilling the duty of his office is guilty of treason against the state. Also seize all their assets to be sold to pay for the special election to replace them.

#4  Many midwestern states have established procedures for recalling / removing state reps, starting with petitions. I would think that quite a few are now circulating in Wisconsin, but have not found news coverage if this is indeed the case.

#5  Just apply to them the same standard applied to most commecrial employees: any employee missing more than 3 consecutive days without a valid absence (official travel, vacation, personal day, pre-approved unpaid leave, sabbatical, sick day, short term or extended disability) is considered to have resigned his position by means of extended unexcused absence absence and the position will be declared vacant.

#6  Good idea O.S. I'll bet that if a bill to that effect went before the Wisconsin legislature tomorrow then you'd see a bunch of AWOL senators heading north to Madison. "Welcome back senators, first we'll vote on the governor's budget bill then...."

Fleebaggers
Indiana Democrats trigger Statehouse showdown over anti-union legislation

Given the White House and DNC involvement in the Madison protests, it seems clear that this has become a national strategy on the part of Democrats — to run out on legislatures where they hold the minority, and to hijack government in an attempt to make the majority the servant of the minority. The party should change its name to the Anti-Democrats … or, since they seem enamored of running away as a political tactic, we can take a page from their book and call them Fleebaggers instead.

#8  Where are the teleprompters?

A better question, why would somebody with such a good seat, so to speak, release this video?
Posted by: swksvolFF || 02/22/2011 12:21 Comments || Top||

#9  Teleprompters are for people who have to talk by a carefully choreographed script. Its DC/Hollywood.

Take this man into his own world where he does not have to read from a script, only then people begin to know who he is. That used to be the job of a free press. This video is one of those rare glimpses at the real person the majority of this generation has elected as President.

#12  Time to rein in (neuter) the unions. They have power far beyond their numbers. They have had an open door to BO since his regime began. Something like 10-12% of the work force are unionized. About half of that number are in public unions and half in private companies unions.

#13  Now you know why Obama wants to take over the private sector. To pillage and "spread the wealth" to union thugs.
