Data Firm Claims Racism Causes 'Tree Inequity' in U.S. Cities
[BREITBART] An analysis from a geospatial data company argues the number of trees planted in different neighborhoods nationwide is unequal along racial lines, and says the threat of "tree inequity" is real and growing.

"EarthDefine uses an Artificial Intelligence (AI) classification model to detect areas of an aerial image that are covered by trees, as opposed to other ground cover like shrubs, buildings and asphalt. They then calculate the percentage of the total land area that is covered by trees — a metric called ’tree canopy cover,’" the the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
Chronicle reported and compared the Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, city’s tree cover with other U.S. cities.

San Francisco has an estimated 669,000 trees, covering about 15 percent of the city’s total area. This is significantly lower than other cities, including Los Angeles, which has a tree canopy cover of 21 percent, New York City has 24 percent, and Seattle and Portland have nearly 30 percent of the area covered in trees.

The Chronicle reported EarthDefine, in partnership with PlanItGeo, provides this data for all U.S. cities every two years to help city agencies and conservation organizations keep track of tree plantings.

But it is the what the left-wing media outlets promotes as an underlying reason why some neighborhoods have less trees than others that is controversial. The importance of trees is also a departure from the common consensus on their benefits:

Trees are hugely important to a city. Not only do they enhance its aesthetics, but they also provide wide-ranging environmental and social benefits. According to Vibrant Cities Lab, a collaboration between the US Forest Service, American Forests and the National Association of Regional Councils, trees can reduce air pollution, clean stormwater, as well as improve the physical and mental health of nearby residents. Some studies even find that more trees are associated with reducing certain types of crime and improving students’ academic performance.

To understand what type of neighborhood is associated with more or less tree cover, we compared the tree canopy numbers with the median household income of each San Francisco census tract — a geographic area with about 1,200 to 8,000 residents. Overall, we found that wealthier census tracts tend to have more tree cover than lower-income tracts. On average, a census tract with a median household income of over $150,000 has 15 percent of its area covered by trees, compared to just 7 percent in a census tract with a median income of $80,000 or less.

#1  If only there were some way to get more trees... hey, wait! I thought trees were racist because they remind black people of slavery and lynchings.

Some studies even find that more trees are associated with reducing certain types of crime and improving students’ academic performance.

Let me go out on a limb (no pun!) and suggest "most studies" have trouble with the whole correlation vs causation thing. Just because someone did a study and tortured some numbers doesn't mean it is worth a poot.

#5  Artificial Intelligence (AI) classification model

They say artificial intelligence is better than no intelligence at all, but not necessarily by much. I don't doubt you can train a neural net to identify trees in aerial photos, but whether they did a good job of training is another question.

While the letters "AI" may make your grant application sexier, people have been estimating ground cover using traditional image processing techniques on multi-spectral images since God invented satellites.

Parents of jailed Marine hail his courage calling out generals over Afghan disaster
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] A Marine Corps officer jugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
after releasing a series of Facebook videos criticizing military leadership for the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan, as well as a series of scathing posts lambasting "hypocrite" former presidents and generals, now sits in a type of solitary confinement with no phone, visitors, books, or even paper, his parents told the Washington Examiner.

"I anticipated it. I ran the gamut of rage to tears," said Cathy Scheller upon learning that her son Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller was arrested Monday. "I have taken up his cause. I will do everything I can to make sure this doesn’t disappear. I am very proud of him for standing for the service members and asking for accountability."

Scheller was three years away from retirement when a jacket wallah killed 13 service members during the Afghanistan airlifts. This prompted him to release a now-viral video that accused leadership of lacking accountability for the disastrous reaction to the fall of Kabul at the hands of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
He voluntarily resigned and forfeited his retirement after the first video, saying it was worth it to speak the truth. Military leaders apparently weighed their options, as Scheller wasn’t immediately arrested but was only ordered not to communicate on social media.

"Effective immediately upon your receipt below, you are hereby ordered to refrain from posting any and all material, in any form without exception, to any social media. In this context, the term 'social media' shall be construed very broadly to include any medium by which you may share information with groups of people..." Lt. Col. Scheller was told, according to a Sept. 25 Facebook post .

In that post, Scheller asked his followers to abandon divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
ness and fear before critiquing several generals and each of the former presidents except for Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Being a self-defined foreign policy whiz kid means never having to say you're sorry...
. Scheller claimed former President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
"divided the country," Barack Obama
They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them...
was "weak in any intestinal fortitude," and Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of the word is...
was "morally bankrupt. This includes his wife."

His post violated a direct order, and Scheller prepared himself for arrest at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina, where he is based. His parents received one phone call from him Tuesday, and his only words were, "Can you call my attorney?"

Government Corruption
Biden DHS Secretary Opposes Wall Because It's A 'Proud Tradition' For People To Cross Border Illegally For Asylum
[TRENDINGPOLITICS] The Democrats keep saying the quiet part out loud.
That's because they've gone so long without any accountability they're not even trying to hide their corruption.
During a Sunday morning interview with far-left Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, Biden DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the gang of subgeniuses trying to pass themselves off as the adults in charge of the series of calamities characteristic of the administration of a mentally challenged geriatric case...
opposes the border wall because it’s a "proud tradition" for the United States to let people in illegally through the southern border.
Sure. General Pershing made a name for himself escorting them... No. Wait... But he was on horseback and he didn't whip anyone.
"Why did you allow them in the country in the first place? Why didn’t you build — forgive me — a wall? Or a fence, from stopping this flood of people from coming across the dam. It looks like a highway when they cross the Rio Grande," Wallace asked.

The response from Mayorkas was simply mindblowing.

"It is the policy of this administration that we do not agree with the building of the wall. The law provides that individuals can make a claim for humanitarian relief, that is actually one of our proudest traditions," he said.

AZ Audit: 86,391 Ballots Cast For People Who Do Not Seem To Exist
[DJHJMedia] During the Maricopa county audit, Cyber Ninjas were unable to identify 86,391 voters. Democrats and no selected party votes made up a whopping 73.8% of the votes or 63,757 ballots total. Not selecting a party makes monitoring of nefarious registrations nearly impossible to verify.

Even the new registration forms include only three categories, R, D, and other.

Cyber Ninjas used Melissa Personator which is arguably the best program for confirmation of the citizenship of Americans and Canadians. It searches various databases including USPS and the Social Security databases.

Since Social Security lists everyone’s name, DOB, SS#, and addresses, there is no reason why legitimate voters cannot be found using the program. All voters should be readily listed except for the possible exceptions of illegal aliens.

Remember, these numbers are in addition to the 50,000 plus duplicate votes. They make no consideration the database might have been manipulated, but know it was hacked on Nov. 5th, 2020. If the Senate had just subpoenaed Maricopa’s VRAS servers and tasked CyFIR in order to investigate further, we would know much more than we do now.

Voter registrations between the 2018 and the 2020 elections jumped by an unbelievable 13.1. That’s 340,676 new voter registrations in just 2 years. That is unheard of in a state the size of Arizona.

#1  All voters should be readily listed except for the possible exceptions of illegal aliens.

Bingo! Why is our border being flooded with people from all over the world? Illegal (ghost) voters!

All the more reason to build the wall, develop alliances with South and Central American countries to limit the flow of illegal invaders and develop trade policies that stimulate industries in those countries...all Trump policies. There are spillover pluses such as limiting the spread of pandemics, shutting down human and drug trafficking. Instead, we have the cluster fook we have today--what an obamanation.

Pentagon loosens access rules to Special Access Programs (SAPS)
[Washington Times] The Pentagon has revised rules that will make it easier for political appointees and congressional staffers to gain access to the Defense Department’s most secret programs, raising concerns among security officials.

Deputy Defense Secretary Kathleen Hicks issued a memorandum to senior Pentagon officials on Sept. 20 stating that filling out a counterintelligence questionnaire is no longer required to gain access to special access programs. Known as SAPs, these are the most secret activities and programs within the department.

The eased rules specifically allow Senate-confirmed political appointees, members of the House and Senate, the professional staff of the congressional defense and intelligence oversight committees and senior White House officials access to the programs without filling out a prescreening questionnaire as required for all other officials in the Pentagon’s Special Access Security Manual: Personnel Security.

Also exempted from the prescreening questionnaire are national security advisers to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

A Pentagon official said the rule change could be "devastating" to the protection of highly sensitive programs.

Security officials "see this as a front-door or quasi-sanctioning method that will invite leaks, as previous measures affording proper protection of highly protected information are eliminated," the official said.

Special access programs are classified above the top-secret level and are reserved to protect the most sensitive information.

Hillary Clinton, a secretary of state in the Obama administration, received criticism for putting information from a special access program on her private email server, according to government documents related to a subsequent investigation. The sensitive information involved criteria to authorize drone strikes on terrorists.

I. Charles McCullough III, serving as inspector general of the intelligence committee, disclosed the compromise of this high-level information in January 2016.

Another program involved the enemy-targeting radar frequency for surface-to-air missile systems in Iraq. The information required secrecy to protect the lives of U.S. pilots.

The Pentagon defended the decision to ease the rules.

#1  A Pentagon official said the rule change could be "devastating" to the protection of highly sensitive programs.

"Devastating" also to the people associated with those programs, but perhaps that is a secondary goal. The primary goad being the elimination of SAP programs and elements.

No benefit to our National Security will be realized through these action.

CNN Slams 'Faulty Media Narrative' Of Border Patrol Whipping Haitians
[DAILYWIRE] After spending a full week promoting the discredited story that Border Patrol agents whipped illegal immigrants colonists from Haiti attempting to cross the U.S. border in Texas, CNN
...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for...
pushed back against the "faulty media narrative" — without retracting, or even mentioning, its own misstatements.CNN media correspondent Brian Stelter, media news hound Oliver Darcy, and news anchor Jake Tapper all addressed the erroneous reports emanating from social media.

"How can DHS claim to have an independent investigation into these Border Patrol agents, when the president says, quote, ’Those people will pay,’ and you say the images ’horrified us’?" Tapper questioned Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday’s "State of the Union."

Mayorkas doubled down that "what those images suggest, what they appeared to portray, was horrifying."

"But that’s the thing," Tapper responded. "Some of the initial descriptions of those images were just patently false. There’s now video out there that provides more context. Having seen the video, are you certain that there was actually wrongdoing?"

Biden cancels Wednesday Chicago trip to focus on salvaging $3.5T spending bill
That’d require him remembering what he was saying from the beginning of the sentence to the end of it. And also remembering both the quid and the quo,so the odds are he’ll be licking his ice cream cone while someone else makes the phone calls.
[FOXBUSINESS] President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S., father of Hunter. He blames Trump for losing Afghanistan.......
will postpone a planned trip to reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
on Wednesday so he can continue negotiations with Democrat holdouts on his $3.5 trillion spending bill, the White House confirmed.

Biden was scheduled to travel to Chicago as part of his administration’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign. A White House official said the trip will be rescheduled.

"In meetings and calls over the weekend and through today, President Biden has been engaging with members of Congress on the path forward for the Build Back Better Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal," the White House official said. "He will now remain at the White House tomorrow to continue working on advancing these two pieces of legislation to create jobs, grow the economy, and make investments in families, rather than failed giveaways to the rich and big corporations."

The Collapse of Biden's World
[PJMedia] Despite his vow to "build back better," China is forcing all of Joe Biden’s moves. The Asian giant’s decision to pursue its own climate policy, consisting largely of more industrialization with green trimmings, effectively kills the Paris accords, so long a part of the progressive platform. How could it not? Beijing produces more emissions than the EU and U.S. combined.

"In 2019, China’s emissions not only eclipsed that of the US — the world’s second-largest emitter at 11% of the global total — but also, for the first time, surpassed the emissions of all developed countries combined ... When added together, GHG emissions from all members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), as well as all 27 EU member states, reached 14,057 MMt CO2e in 2019, about 36 MMt CO2e short of China’s total."

Not only is climate change DOA, but the post-WW2 alliance structure is in the ICU. China’s naval expansion pushed Washington to undercut the planned Australian purchase of French conventional submarines in favor of U.K.-U.S. nuclear designs. "For Mr. Macron, the [AUKUS] submarine debacle demonstrates that the NATO alliance is debilitated to the point of dysfunction through lack of trust. The glue has gone. Without transparency — and in the submarine deal there was none — alliance, in the French view, becomes an empty word."

The "glue" that held NATO together was fear of the Soviet bear. But that once formidable bruin is mangy and supplanted by the much more formidable CCP dragon. The decline of European alliances reflects the strategic primacy of Asia. The irony was that up until Kevin Rudd became PM, Australia actually wanted to become part of Asia. But Chinese expansionism changed all that and stirred in the Aussie breast the old but not wholly forgotten memories of alliances with the English-speaking world.

But the ultimate blow to Biden’s Global World has been to its economic underpinnings. China had been going broke gradually, then all of a sudden. "The roots of the crisis date to [Chinese] tax reforms in 1994 which bolstered central government coffers but left local governments reliant on land financing for revenue." By China’s own reckoning, the country’s vaunted economic growth rested on three huge bubbles that, once exploded, could threaten the Party’s own legitimacy. "This year, Xi has set out to reform the ’three huge mountains’ of housing, education and healthcare to rein in soaring costs for city dwellers as a way to shore up legitimacy as the ’people’s leader’, analysts said."

The Communist Party encouraged the bubbles in order to tax them. But now, with the stream of new business finally exhausted and the entire edifice threatening to collapse like a house of cards, Chairman Xi has suddenly rediscovered Maoism.

For a long time, analysts chalked Chinese President Xi Jinping’s homages to Mao Zedong to "political stagecraft," but a Wall Street Journal examination of Xi’s recent writings and speeches suggests they should be taking him much more seriously. It now appears Xi is "forcefully" trying to get China back to Mao’s socialist vision, the Journal writes....

"Xi does think he’s moving to a new kind of system that doesn’t exist anywhere in the world," Barry Naughton, a China economy expert at the University of California, San Diego, told the Journal. "I call it a government-steered economy."

Like Indiana Jones, Xi is pursued by three giant rocks and hopes to reach the socialist bunker leaving Western markets to take the brunt of the impact. As Jason Zweig observed, it was too much to hope that Wall Street should have known better.

#1  From what I can see, Xi is determined to destroy the wealth of China. And without money to fund it, all the pipe dreams in the world are just that--pipe dreams. I'm beginning to wonder if Xi will destroy China faster than Biden will destroy America.

RNC challenges Vermont legislation giving voting rights to noncitizens
[FoxNews] Montpelier and Winooski in May made changes to their charters allowing noncitizens to vote.

The Republican National Committee is suing two Vermont cities over new town charters that allow noncitizens to vote in municipal elections.

"Democrats are trying to dismantle the integrity of our elections," RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Monday. "In addition to attacking widely supported safeguards like voter ID, Democrats also want foreign citizens to vote in American elections. Republicans are fighting back on this far-left assault against election integrity -- unlike radical Democrats, we believe that our elections should be decided solely by American citizens. This is a matter of principle and we will fight in all 50 states to ensure this remains the case."

The case centers around the Vermont cities of Montpelier and Winooski, who in May had changes to their charters approved by the state's Senate that allowed noncitizens to vote in their municipal elections.

"I believe if someone wishes to be able to vote they should be a citizen," Vermont state Sen. Brian Collamore told Fox News in an interview at the time. "The Montpelier bill allows what is defined as a legal resident of the United States to be able to vote in city elections. ... If someone is here on a permanent basis, why would he or she not want to participate in the process to become a citizen?"

Republican Gov. Phil Scott vetoed the legislation in June, citing "inconsistency in election policy" across the state.

"Allowing a highly variable town-by-town approach to municipal voting creates inconsistency in election policy, as well as separate and unequal classes of residents potentially eligible to vote on local issues," Scott said in a letter to legislators.

But the governor's veto was overridden by the Senate in a 20-10 vote, with Democrats getting just enough votes to clear the two-thirds majority needed for a veto override.

Now the RNC has promised to fight back, arguing the lawsuit is part of their "ongoing fight to secure the integrity of our elections – in this specific instance, ensuring that American elections be solely decided by American citizens.

"The suit also raises important concerns about how the laws will be implemented and whether non-citizens will end up on the same voter registration lists used for state-level and federal elections," the RNC said.

Greta Thunberg mocks Biden's 'Build Back Better' plan as 'blah, blah, blah'
[NYPOST] Teen climate activist Greta "Pippi" Thunberg
...an autistic sixteen year old Swedish expert on climate change...
mocked President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family, the guy who bungled Afghanistan......
’s "Build Back Better" plan as she chastised world leaders Tuesday for their "empty" promises of eco-action — dismissing it all as "blah, blah, blah."

"This is all we hear from our so-called leaders: Words. Words that sound great but so far have led to no action," the 18-year-old Swedish activist told crowds at the Youth4Climate summit in Milan, Italia.

"This is not about some expensive, politically correct green act of bunny hugging, or blah, blah, blah. Build Back Better, blah, blah, blah," she said, deriding Biden’s controversial $3.5 trillion post-COVID plan.

"Green economy, blah, blah, blah. Net-zero by 2050, blah, blah, blah. Climate-neutral, blah, blah, blah," she continued to applause.

"Our hopes and dreams drown in their empty words and promises," she said, accusing governments of "shamelessly congratulating themselves" for insufficient pledges to cut emissions and promises of financing.
