White House Stammers After Peter Doocy Nails Illegal Immigration Question
[Red State] Most of the White House press room can’t be bothered to ask tough questions, and they certainly can’t be bothered to ask tough follow-ups. Fox News’ Peter Doocy is the exception, and he left Biden press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre fumbling through her cheat sheets with a perfect question on illegal immigration.
She's an actual moron. Watch her rifle for an answer through her briefing book
The setup is that world-class tennis player Novak Djokovic has been denied entry into the United States in August of 2022. Yes, apparently, foreign travelers are still banned from entering the country if they haven’t been vaccinated against the coronavirus. That despite mountains of data showing and numerous admissions from even the most dedicated COVID hysterics that the vaccines do not stop the spread of the virus.

Doocy took that and asked Jean-Pierre on Monday why the administration is barring Djokovic but allows illegal immigrants who are unvaccinated to enter the interior of the country. Not only did she have no answer, but she also got so flustered that she walked into a rhetorical door.

National Archives head emails staff that it's not an anti-Trump agency
[Washington Examiner] The head of the National Archives and Records Administration rejected the notion that the agency is plotting against former President Donald Trump in an email sent to staff members last week.

Debra Steidel Wall, NARA's acting archivist, told staff members that in the wake of actions taken by the agency in seeking Trump's presidential records, NARA has received messages from the public accusing the National Archives of being anti-Trump or congratulating the agency for "bringing him down," and that "neither is accurate or welcome." The email was reportedly sent by Wall on Aug. 24 and first obtained by the Washington Post.

"The National Archives has been the focus of intense scrutiny for months, this week especially, with many people ascribing political motivation to our actions," Wall wrote in the email.

"NARA has received messages from the public accusing us of corruption and conspiring against the former president, or congratulating NARA for ’bringing him down,’" she continued. "Neither is accurate or welcome."

The discovery of over 700 pages of classified material mixed with other documents in 15 boxes of presidential records collected by the National Archives from Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in January led the agency to believe that more sensitive records could still be in Trump's possession in Palm Beach, Florida.

After the January discovery, the Justice Department opened an investigation into Trump's handling of presidential records and the DOJ seized another batch of documents with sensitive national security information stashed in the basement of Mar-a-Lago. In August, FBI agents searched the resort and reportedly recovered 26 boxes of material.

NARA's referral of the matter to the DOJ, and the subsequent FBI raid of Trump's home, ignited a political firestorm. Wall told staff in her email, however, that the agency is "fiercely non-political" and an "honest broker" simply seeking to preserve government records.

#1  St. Louis, July 12, 1973: A Disaster with Long-Lasting Repercussions

In 1973 a devastating fire in the National Personnel Records Center destroyed about 17 million military personnel files. A loss with long-lasting repercussions, it affects our understanding and knowledge of many individual WWII stories.

#3  So Debra Steidel Wall who assumed office May 1, 2022 and is the "ACTING" National Archives head wanted to be on "Record" as officially saying it is NOT an anti-Trump agency.

BTW: Her replacement is the nominee Colleen Joy Shogan who, surprise!!! was born and raised in Greater Pittsburgh and donates $$$$ to the DNC according to OPENSECRETS.ORG

But, as the old saying goes.

Actions speak louder than words.

#4  Hey B, I've been in the official situation requesting the records of a reactivated servicmember and the NPRC said they were lost in the fire. Problem was that his records were sent after the fire. They just didn't want to do the work they existed for. It had degenerated into a workfare program for the low skilled in the area.

#5  At the point any document hits the national archives, it should be viewable by any taxpaying American without an appointment, forms or legal hoops to jump through. And by that standard, it should not matter who else has a copy stored wherever.

#6  Ref #4: I was involved peripherally in a CID Deep Dive and 15-6 investigation, on a fellow ultimately convicted of USG Credit Card abuse. Unfortunately for him, Paris honeymoon airfare and hotel expenditures were not classified as official gov't binnes. In the process, his microfiche disclosed a "completed Ranger training" entry and certificate (less TAB). He was wearing the TAB in his last 3 pro-board fotos. ORB did not match the official paper. Fort Benning confirmed non-grad status. Neither CID or his chain of commander were amused.

You never know what you will find in those records.

#7  Always, always keep paper copies of things you want to include in official records. It never fails to amaze me the confidence we all place in MILPERCEN or ARPERCEN or HQ/CMC records, especially if you actually visited the bowels of those places and spent a little time with some of the denizens in their dwelling cubes. The expression "just wed or near dead" comes to mind for many.

Court grants DOJ request for lengthy rebuttal to Trump special master request
[Washington Examiner] A judge granted the Department of Justice's request for an extended response to Donald Trump's petition for a special master to review materials seized by federal officials from the former president's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The decision came shortly after DOJ officials wrote in a filing Monday, "The government seeks to file a response up to forty pages in length in order to adequately address the legal and factual issues raised by Plaintiff's Motion and Supplement and the Court's August 27 Order requiring a response from the government."

Trump has sought the appointment of a special master to oversee the department's combing of evidence obtained from his Mar-a-Lago resort during the Aug. 8 search and seizure by FBI agents. A judge has signaled her "preliminary intent" to side with Trump in the special master request.

In the filing, the DOJ noted that Trump's lawyers filed a 27-page and 10-page motion and supplemental motion in his special master request. They argued they needed an exception to exceed the 20-page limit on opposition moratoriums due to the nature of the case. A hearing on the special master request has been set for Thursday.

Top FBI agent resigns amid claims he shielded Hunter Biden from probe: report
[NYPost] Hope it's just the start of the weeding out. This POS Timothy has poisoned the system for too long
A top FBI agent at the Washington field office reportedly resigned from his post last week after facing intense scrutiny over allegations he helped shield Hunter Biden from criminal investigations into his laptop and business dealings.

Timothy Thibault, an FBI assistant special agent in charge, was allegedly forced out after he was accused of political bias in his handling of probes involving President Biden’s son, sources told the Washington Times on Monday.

The agent was escorted out of the field office by at least two "headquarters-looking types" last Friday, the sources said.

Thibault and the FBI didn’t immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment on Monday.

Thibault, a 25-year-veteran, had already been on leave for a month after the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), started raising concerns about whistleblower claims the FBI had obstructed its own investigations into the first son.

Timothy Thibault, an FBI assistant special agent in charge, was reportedly forced out after being accused of political bias in the handling of Hunter Biden probes.

In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray in July, Grassley said Thibault and FBI supervisory intelligence analyst Brian Auten were allegedly involved in "a scheme" to "undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation."

Thibault also allegedly tried to kill off a valid avenue of investigation of possible Hunter Biden criminality up until at least one month before the Nov. 2020 election, according to Grassley.

"Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required by FBI guidelines.... [and] subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future," Grassley wrote.

It was the same month The Post first started reporting on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, which included troves of emails related to his shady overseas business dealings.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg revealed last week that the social media giant suppressed The Post’s bombshell Hunter Biden report following a vague FBI warning about possible "Russian propaganda" tied to the 2020 presidential election.
Internal disciplinary measures prior to discharge? Detailed investigation? Co-conspirators? Oh well WTF, we'll just let him slide out the back door with pay, benefits, clearance, etc. It's for the good of the organization, you'll see.
