The court, whose judges were all appointed by Democratic governors, marks the first time in history that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment has been used to disqualify a presidential candidate.

By a 4-3 vote, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump, who is running for president in 2024, is ineligible for office and should be removed from the state's Republican primary ballot.
The decision was made on the basis of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. In accordance with the third paragraph of this amendment, a person who held a military or civilian position after participating in an insurrection cannot hold public office (Trump has been charged in cases related to attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election and the attack on the Capitol in January 2021, he does not recognize guilt).
The Democrats are so afraid of Donald that they are ready to bring the matter to a civil war and are using false legal grounds. Let me remind you that Trump has not yet been found guilty of any crime, let alone “found guilty of insurrection.” Neither funding nor participation in this uprising was proven. Therefore (and this is simple logic) the decision is illegal.
Republicans have already reacted to this court decision.
Trump himself has already announced that he is filing an appeal and it should be considered by January 5, 2024.
Republican Party Chairman Ronna McDaniel said that the court decision is tantamount to “election interference.” The Republican nominee will be determined by Republican voters, not a partisan (Democratic) state court, McDaniel tweeted.
Vivek Ramaswamy, Trump's election rival, showed solidarity with the ex-president:
- I will withdraw from the Republican primary in Colorado if Trump's name is not returned to the ballot. It is up to the people to decide, not the democratic judges, who were not elected by anyone. In Colorado or wherever. And I demand that Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Chris Christie follow my lead. Otherwise, they are silently supporting what the police state is doing to Trump now. I am withdrawing from participation and I hope that they will also do the right thing.
The Republican Party in Colorado did it easier. Party members said they would withdraw from the state election and simply move to a national party electoral system that allows it to choose its candidate if former President Trump's vote stands.
Meanwhile, a trailer for the upcoming film “Civil War” was released in the United States with the bright slogan “the empire has fallen.” According to the plot of the film, a civil war began in the states, the country fell apart, and the population bravely destroyed the “cradle” of democracy. The film should be released in mid-2024, we are looking forward to the premiere. Who knows, some films tend to come true, maybe the film has the same producer as Servant of the People.

The document states that, according to the third section of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, participants in the insurrection are prohibited from holding the highest public office.
The Trump campaign responded to the court verdict and called the decision erroneous, promising to appeal it.
As Regnum reported , in November, according to materials from the Associated Press, a court in the US state of Colorado recognized Trump's involvement in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. An initiative group of left-wing citizens on behalf of independent voters in Colorado filed a lawsuit, noting that Trump's actions are contrary to the US Constitution. The judge admitted that the politician “provoked an uprising” with his public statements, however, according to the court decision, this involvement will not prevent him from participating in the presidential elections in 2024.
The Hill, citing a public opinion poll conducted by Bloomberg and Morning Consult, on December 14 noted the growing popularity of Trump, who was ahead of the current head of the White House Joe Biden in seven swing states - North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada, Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania. The average margin is 5.28%, with North Carolina reaching 11%, according to the survey.
The US presidential elections are scheduled for November 5, 2024. Most likely, as in 2020, the main candidates for the post will be Trump and Biden.

Answered my own question. A total of 54 percent of American adults approve of the ruling, according to the YouGov survey that questioned nearly 3,500 citizens. About 38 percent said they strongly approved of the decision.
My superficial analysis - All the Dems (38%) and 16% Never Trumpers.

The word tantamount in this sentence is unnecessary. It is election interference, plain and simple. If Ronna McDaniel is so indignant about it, why doesn't the RNC file a lawsuit of their own?

[NY Post] What a moron Vice President Kamala Harris has been mocked for serving up her latest word salad — this time saying during a TV interview that "this is the most election of our lifetime." A good photoshopper could create an impressive Venn Diagram.
During an appearance on MSNBC’s "The Last Word" with Lawrence O’Donnell, Harris slammed former President Donald Trump’s remarks that migrants were "poisoning the blood of our country."
But the veep then stumbled over her words while turning her comments to the 2024 presidential election.
"You know, every election cycle we talk about this is the most election of our lifetime," Harris said, without correcting herself.
"Lawrence, this one is, this one is," she told the host.
