#2 Something similar going on in Oregon at the state level, IIUC, where anyone who walked out of a meeting to break quorum is being denied re-election. These would be the rural offices, mostly Republican. Wasn't so long ago this tactic was the most bravest thing a politician could do with wall to wall hype supporting such a tactic.

Wonder what's different?
