FAA's diversity push includes focus on hiring people with ‘severe intellectual' and ‘psychiatric' disabilities
See Pete.
[FoxNews] The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is actively recruiting workers who suffer "severe intellectual" disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website.
Those of sound mind and body need not apply
"Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring," the FAA’s website states. "They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism."
So long as it’s a position where their handicap does not interfere with their ability to do the job well, that’s fine. Wouldn’t want anyone incapable of maintaining precision under great pressure as an air traffic controller, though.
The initiative is part of the FAA’s "Diversity and Inclusion" hiring plan, which says "diversity is integral to achieving FAA's mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond." The FAA’s website shows the agency’s guidelines on diversity hiring were last updated on March 23, 2022.

The FAA, which is overseen by Secretary Pete Buttigieg's Department of Transportation, is a government agency charged with regulating civil aviation and employs roughly 45,000 people.

All eyes have been on the FAA and airline industry in recent days after a plug door on a Boeing 737 Max 9 blew out during an Alaska Airlines flight on Jan. 5. The FAA grounded all 737 MAX 9 planes after the incident and is carrying out "extensive inspection" and maintenance work.

On the FAA’s website, the agency states that people with "severe" mental and physical disabilities are the most underrepresented segment of the federal workforce.

"Because diversity is so critical, FAA actively supports and engages in a variety of associations, programs, coalitions and initiatives to support and accommodate employees from diverse communities and backgrounds. Our people are our strength, and we take great care in investing in and valuing them as such," the FAA reads.

When asked for comment on the initiative, including what roles people with disabilities would fulfill, the FAA told Fox News Digital that the agency thoroughly seeks and vets qualified candidates "from as many sources as possible" for a range of positions.

"The FAA employs tens of thousands of people for a wide range of positions, from administrative roles to oversight and execution of critical safety functions. Like many large employers, the agency proactively seeks qualified candidates from as many sources as possible, all of whom must meet rigorous qualifications that of course will vary by position," the FAA said.

#9  but what about all the people floating around in the aluminum tubes ?

Some of them will get the Elon Musk Zoom meeting chip. Others will go to Rekall(tm) - "We can remember it for you wholesale".

As people do worse at the ATC task because Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DIE), AI will get better. Eventually, AI will replace the people because it does not have to be particularly good at a task, just better than humans.

Actually right now, with just a bit of training, ChatGPT is capable of generating properly formatted, syntactically correct ATC commands. Sure, sometimes they will be wrong, or even wildly inappropriate. But humans make mistakes too, right?

Other changes in the airline industry: Flight insurance will include a Killed by an AI clause. This came after American Airlines loses a lawsuit where they argued that since the plane was under control of an AI at the time of mishap, the AI was responsible for the crash, and since robots are not people, no one was legally liable.

When was US 'more safe'? Donald Trump tells his supporters
[GEO.TV] As his legal troubles continue to exacerbate with temperatures reaching freezing levels in Iowa, former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
refreshes the memory of his fellow citizens Sunday about the "safety and security" of America when he was in the White House.

Donald Trump recalled referring to North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
that the US was "more secure" when he was in power, referring to his personal ties with the leader Kim Jong-Un.

While addressing his supporters during the rally at Indianola, Iowa he said: "Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
[is] very smart, very tough, but he liked me and I got along really well with him and we were safe."

Just hours after his rally in freezing temperatures, North Korea fired a intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) into the East Sea Sunday as its first launch of 2024, according to the South Korean military.

#1  Trump: ‘We Have Wars in Ukraine, Israel, and Yemen’ but Not on Southern Border

#2  Hard to get graft from the cartels.

I'm afraid it's all too easy to get graft from the cartels. Many of our politicians do and that's why we don't have a war on our southern border.

Fani Willis DEFENDS 'having an affair with colleague as they prosecuted Trump in election interference case' and claims attacks are 'racially motivated'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis appeared to defend accusations of having an alleged secret lover co-prosecutor as they oversee the Georgia case against former President Donald Trump.

Willis was accused in a stunning court filing by one of Trump's co-defendants of having an affair with Nathan Wade, who was paid more than $600,000 as a special prosecutor assisting her office.

Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has filed a formal complaint of misconduct against Willis, while House Republicans have kicked off an investigation into Wade.

The former president pointed to the allegations Tuesday and said it meant the Georgia prosecutor was 'totally compromised' and that the racketeering case against Trump and 18 codefendants 'has to be dropped.'

In an impassioned 35-minute speech at the Big Bethel AME Church in Atlanta Sunday, she did not directly refer to - and did not deny - the accusations but suggested that criticism of her was racist and sexist.
Most things seem to be.
'You cannot expect black women to be perfect and save the world. We need to be allowed to stumble,' she said.

#1  Anytime a black woman is accused of anything, it is because of racism and sexism.

#9  The same old tiresome bromide. I guess these b.s. claims and exclamations still work; else, they would stop using them.

"You cannot expect black women to be perfect and save the world."

Nobody is, lady, and you'd be the furthest from anybody's mind to fill that role.

"We need to be allowed to stumble"

LOL, yeah, o.k. Put her on the waiting list for a Rhodes Scholarship.
