Abdikadir Ahmed Ali is reported to be among at least four soldiers who were recently trained in Uganda who died in a landmine explosion on Sunday evening in the Kahda district, Mogadishu. The explosion was the first in as many days within Mogadishu, which has been experiencing relative peace and stability.
Several others were maimed in the IED attack on their military vehicle, police said, adding that those injured were rushed to various hospitals within Mogadishu for advanced treatment. The al-Shabaab murderous Moslems have been targeting security officers who have heightened crackdown against the group in recent months.
Uganda trained at least 3,000 soldiers who were commissioned recently in a ceremony attended by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Kampala. The soldiers, Hassan Sheikh said, were to join the rest of the military in pursuing the al-Shabaab group across the country as the nation wages "the final assault".

Elsewhere, government forces in Mogadishu's Hodan district executed a planned operation on Sunday, leading to several significant arrests. Police said a man suspected to have engineered a recent grenade attack in a cop shoppe was among those arrested in the crackdown.
The suspect, Haanta Dheer, police said, was arrested in Mogadishu's Deyniile neighborhood where he was planning major attacks. Two women, purported to have aided the suspect in his assault, were also taken into custody, police said in a report to the media.
Security forces have heightened surveillance in Mogadishu in what is geared towards instilling safety in the busy capital, which was previously a hub for al-Shabaab terrorists. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud had promised a total crackdown against the murderous Moslems who have lost significant ground in the country.
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The Head of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese army sacked four generals who were on secondment to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces one month after the outbreak of war in the country.
In a decree issued on Sunday, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan relieved Major General Osman Mohammed Hamid Mohammed, Major General Hassan Mahjoub al-Fadel Abdel-Hamid, Brigadier General Absher Gibril Balayel, and Brigadier General Omer Hamdan Ahmed Hamad from their positions.
On April 16, al-Burhan ended the assignment of army officers seconded to the RSF and ordered them to return to their respective armies. However, ars longa, vita brevis... the four generals disobeyed the order and continued to serve in the paramilitary force.
The four dismissed generals held crucial positions within the RSF command structure. Major General Hamid Mohammed was in charge of military operations in the Rapid Support Forces, Major General al-Fadel Abdel-Hamid served as the director of the RSF Commander’s office, Brigadier General Balayel led the mobile forces that closed Sudan’s border with the Central African Republic in January, and Brigadier General Ahmed Hamad is currently heading the RSF negotiating team in the Jeddah negotiations.
When the leader of the former regime established the RSF, he decided to second over five hundred officers to train and manage the paramilitary force, which was initially designed to combat rebel groups across the country.
Earlier this month, Hemetti stated that he had been betrayed by 480 army officers who were tasked with training his forces shortly after the conflict with the army began. He mentioned that only four generals remained loyal to him.
The fighting between the regular army and the RSF in the Sudanese capital has entered its fifth week, with neither side appearing to achieve a clear victory. [WashingtonExaminer] An undocumented Democrat from Afghanistan on the FBI's terror watchlist was caught crossing the border in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, an official said.
San Diego County official Jim Desmond said an Afghan was taken into custody by federal law enforcement agents near the California coast.
"This apprehension occurred after the individual crossed the border alongside a group of migrants colonists near Otay Mesa, CA," said Desmond, the county supervisor for the fifth district, in a statement issued Sunday. "The presence of an individual on the terror watch list crossing our borders is a stark reminder of the failures of the Federal Government that are now being put on San Diegans and Americans."
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), whose district encompasses a large portion of the state's border with Mexico, confirmed the incident to the Washington Examiner on Monday.
"From day one, Biden tore up international agreements that were working, tied the hands of front-line law enforcement, and sent a message to the world that America’s border was open and our system of asylum would not be enforced," Issa said in a statement. "Is it any surprise that among the five million illegals Biden has permitted to violate our border that some of the world’s most dangerous holy warriors have also taken advantage of this presidential chaos to enter our homeland?"
The FBI and U.S. Customs and Border Protection both declined to confirm or deny the arrest.
[Dawn] Nine persons, including five security personnel, sustained injuries in a suicide kaboom in Mirali tehsil here on Monday, local officials said.
They said a jacket wallah targeted a vehicle of the security forces near Eidak village, which left nine persons, including five coppers, maimed.

The raids are part of the investigation in a terror funding case. Sources tell OneIndia that the case pertains to terror funding and the criminal conspiracy hatched by terror groups operating under various pseudo names at the behest of their commanders in Pakistain.
On May 11, the NIA had raided the home of Abdul Khaliq,Javid Ahmad Dhobi at Syed Kareem and Shoaib Ahmad Choor at Sangri Colony in Baramulla district in connection with the same case.
The raids come in the wake of the horrific Poonch attack in which five soldiers were killed. Days after this attack five more soldiers bit the dust in an attack that took place in the forests of Rajouri.
Earlier on the NIA had attached the properties of three accused persons at various locations in Kashmir under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act following a court order.
The NIA has carrie out multiple raids in Jammu and Kashmir to crack down on new terror groups which have been mushrooming off late. In recent times groups such as the The Resistence Front, United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (UL J&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, PAAF among others have been operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
These groups have become prominent following the abrogation of Article 370. Home Ministry sources say that these are just other names for groups such as the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad ...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
NIA investigations so far have revealed that Jamaat-e-Islami (J&K) members had been collecting funds domestically and from abroad through donations as well as for purported charitable purposes, such as promotion of education and health.
"The funds were, instead, being used for violent and secessionist activities in J&K. They were also being channelled to proscribed terrorist organisations, such as Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and others through well-organised networks of Jamaat-e-Islami cadres," said the NIA.
Further, as per the investigations, Jamaat-e-Islami was also engaged in motivating the impressionable youth of Kashmir and recruiting new members (Rukuns) in J&K for carrying out violent, disruptive, and secessionist activities.
[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a supplementary chargesheet in connection with a Lashkar-e-Tayiba off-shoot case.
The charges were filed against one Faisal Muneer, who is a member of the banned The Resistence Front, which is an off shoot of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. The NIA has accused Muneer of conspiring with Pakistain based operatives to transport firearms and explosives in order to carry out acts of terror in India.
He is accused of entering into a conspiracy with his handlers based in Pakistain to deliver consignments of weapons and explosives to active terror commanders and operatives of these outfits for commission of acts of terror in India, the NIA said.
The probe by the NIA says that as part of the conspiracy with other co-accused and handlers, Faisal had actively worked for the above mentioned terror groups. He also received funds for the operatives of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, the NIA probe found.
He is the fourth person to be charged in this case which the agency had registered suo-motu in 2021.
The NIA had earlier filed a chargesheet against Arsalan Feroz, Muzamil Mushtaq Bhat and Mudasir Ahmed Dar. The agency said that these accused persons were operating as over ground workers of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and The Resistence Front.
The probe also learnt that Muneer was also an over ground worker and was involved in receiving, collecting and supplying weapons. These materials were dropped off by the Lashkar-e-Tayiba operatives using drones in areas situated near the international border area of Samba and Kathua. After receiving the arms, Muneer would store it at his residence, following which the same would be delivered to Death Eaters in Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids in Bhathindi area of Jammu on Monday.
Quoting official sources, KNS reported that searches were being conducted at the residences of two Jammu residents.
"The raids are being carried out at the houses Anwar Hussain S/o Abdul Aziz resident of Vidhata Nagar Bathindi and Sarpanch Hafeez-Ullah S/o Barkat Ali resident of Bathindi, Jammu," they said.
An infiltrator was detained on the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir while he was trying to intrude into this side of the border, reports said today.
Quoting officials, news agency KNO reported that the intruder was nabbed while he was trying to infiltrate from Tarkundi area.
The apprehended intruder, initially identified as Mohammad Usman, is a resident of Kotli district, Kerela village of PoJK.

The SDF Media Center said in a statement that on May 8, the SDF Special Units carried out an operation that resulted in "dismantling an ISIS terrorist cell in the town of al-Dashisha," south of Hasakah.
The operation was backed by air surveillance and ground support by the US-led Global Coalition, the SDF statement said, adding that the units captured the leader of the ISIS cell and an accompanying suspect.
The ISIS leader "had been actively planning terrorist attacks against our military, security forces, and civilians," the statement said. He facilitated the movement of ISIS cells and "was directly responsible for their activities" in southern Hasakah and northern Deir ez-Zor.
The statement said that the SDF units discovered "weapons, technical equipment, and incriminating documents solidifying his affiliation with ISIS."
