Somali troops vacate Wabho days after take over
[ShabelleMedia] The reports reaching Wabho in Galgadud region indicate that the Somali forces and the local militia have left the area last night after days in control.

Major Ismail Abdimaalik, a military officer, said that the reason for the withdrawal was an order from the high command of the army, but he did provide further details on the matter.

The government forces and the local people who came out of Wabho area are said to have returned to the Mahas district in the Hiraan region where they had already left the army.

The latest news says that the Wabho area has been peacefully retaken by al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
There are no further details given by the Somali government as to why it withdrew its troops from Wabho area in Galgadud region.
Garowe’s take on the story:
The Somali National Army [SNA] failed to guard one of the strategic towns in the country, letting al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all of which have enough problems without them...
easily retake it in what has been considered a major loss in the ongoing fight against the group, which controls large swathes of rural central and southern parts of Somalia.

According to multiple sources, the Somali army with backing from the local militia left Wabho town in the Galgadud region within Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
state on Friday night, paving way for the return of the al-Shabaab. The town has been instrumental in the war against al-Shabaab given its strategic positioning.

According to Major Ismail Abdimalik, the man who has been coordinating the crackdown against al-Shabaab, the troops were ordered by senior commanders in the army but did not give reasons. Usually, the military is required to monitor towns that are liberated from al-Shabaab.

Last week on Wednesday, the Somali army with assistance from local militia liberated Wabho town without meaningful struggle and their exit came as a shock. According to a government report, the hard boyz had been in charge of the town for 15 years.

Locals said the forces mainly drawn from elite squads have already returned to Mahas District in the Hiiraan region. It is not clear why they abandoned the town despite expectations that they were to stay around until people-led administration is picked.

Further reports show that the al-Shabaab have increased their attacks ever since President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud announced a crackdown against them. The multiple operations going across the country have left hundreds of al-Shabaab hard boyz dead.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been encouraging local militia to join the fight, a move which has yielded fruits. Most towns in Somalia are now free from al-Shabaab following operations by the national army, local militia, and the African Union

Southern Yemeni separatists withdrawing from Aden as Saudi-led forces take over occupation duties
The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias, on Sunday began transforming its weapons outside its most prominent stronghold in Aden.

This was reported by Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
News Portal, based on testimonies of local sources.

According to the local sources, dozens of trucks left the STC’s camps in Aden under tight security protection at midnight, and some of those locomotives headed towards Dhalea and others Yafee.

During the night hours, Aden witnessed a heavy deployment of the factions of the Security Belt, which will take over the tasks of securing the city, under the leadership of the Ministry of Interior in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition forces.

The transfer of STC weapons from Aden coincides with Saudi arrangements to hand over the city to the Salafi forces named "Shield of the Homeland" forces affiliated with Saudi forces, while finalizing the integration of the STC factions under the name of the Ministry of Defence.

Bodyguard of Taiz puppet governor murdered under mysterious circumstances
One of the escorts of Taiz province governor loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, Nabil Shamsan, was assassinated in mysterious circumstances inside a hotel in the port city of Aden, controlled by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia.

Human rights and media sources reported on Saturday that workers of a hotel in Aden found the personal escort of the Taiz governor, Muhammad Faisal, hanging inside one of the hotel rooms, without mentioning reasons.
The noose and gravity. But mostly the noose
The sources confirmed that the workers found Faisal’s body two days after his liquidation, amid a media cover-up to obliterate the crime, and record the incident as a "suicide."

Faisal was accompanying the governor, Shamsan, who visited Aden few days ago, during which he met the prime minister of the pro-coalition government, Maeen Abdulmalik al-Wahsh, at the Ma’ashiq Palace, according to the sources.

This comes within the framework of the crisis that emerged between Shamsan and the governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, who is affiliated with STC, against the background of the latter’s signing of an agreement to build houses on Mayoun Island, which belongs to Taiz province administratively.

In February 2021, Shamsan’s housel was stormed by the STC militia, who kidnapped the commander of the so-called "Military Police", Jamil Aqlan, along with the governor’s personal driver for several hours.

i island of Socotra to train them in Riyadh, during the past hours.

Informed sources confirmed that a Saudi military aircraft took off from the airport of the city of Hadibo, the capital of Socotra, carrying about 60 recruits from the island to train them in its territory, to form a militia parallel to the UAE on the island.

The sources said that the "Saudi 808 duty forces", which have been deployed on the island since 2018, had recruited dozens of Socotra sons in conjunction with the UAE’s recruitment of a new batch of young men and women over the past months.

The sources said that the Saudi-Emirati conflict has expanded on the island following the establishment of Abu Dhabi as a joint military base with the Zionist navy and naval observation posts in a number of areas of Socotra, especially on Abd Al Kuri Island during the past years.

Dagestani woman convicted of participation in ISIS

[KavkazUzel] A court in Makhachkala sentenced Gogush Absaidova to six years in prison, recognizing her as a member of the group of Syrian militants of the Islamic State. The punishment for the woman is deferred until her child is 14 years old.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in June 2021, the participants of the seminar in Moscow stated that, although the authorities recognize the need to return the wives and children of militants from Syria, including natives of the North Caucasus, the problems of their rehabilitation and social adaptation remain relevant.

Bomb rocks avenue in heart of Istanbul; 6 dead, dozens hurt UPDATE: Turks blame Kurds, boomerette
[10News] A bomb rocked a major pedestrian avenue in the heart of Istanbul on Sunday, killing six people, wounding several dozen and sending people fleeing the fiery explosion.

Emergency vehicles rushed to the scene on Istiklal Avenue, a popular thoroughfare lined with shops and restaurants that leads to the iconic Taksim Square. In one video posted online, a loud bang could be heard and a flash seen as pedestrians turned and ran away.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the blast a "treacherous attack" and said its perpetrators would be punished.

He did not say who was behind the attack but said it had the "smell of terror" without offering details and also adding that was not certain yet. The president said investigations were ongoing by the police and the governor’s office, including reviewing footage of the area.

Erdogan said six people were killed. Vice President Fuat Oktay later updated the wounded toll to 81, with two in serious condition, and also said it appeared to be a terrorist attack.

Numerous foreign governments offered their condolences, including neighboring Greece with which relations are tense. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said he was "shocked and saddened by the news of the heinous attack."

Turkey was hit by a string of bombings between 2015 and 2017 that left more than 500 civilians and security personnel dead. Some of the attacks were perpetrated by the Islamic State group, while others were executed by Kurdish militants who have led a decadeslong insurgency against the Turkish state for increased autonomy or independence.

Turkey has been fighting the militants — known as the PKK and considered a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union — in the country's southeast for years.

Following the string of attacks, Turkey launched cross-border military operations into Syria and northern Iraq against Kurdish militants, while also cracking down on Kurdish politicians, journalists and activists at home through broad terror laws that critics say are a way to silence dissent.

Turkey’s media watchdog imposed temporary restrictions on reporting on Sunday's explosion — a move that bans the use of close-up videos and photos of the blast and its aftermath. The Supreme Council of Radio and Television has imposed similar bans in the past, following attacks and accidents.

Access to some content on Twitter and other social media sites, such as videos, was limited.

Death toll from Istanbul explosion rises to 81

Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said that the number of people injured in the explosion in the center of Istanbul has risen to 81 people.

The explosion occurred on Sunday afternoon on the pedestrian tourist street Istiklal in the center of Istanbul. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously claimed six dead and 53 injured.

"We have 81 victims. The condition of two is serious," the vice president told reporters.
Video from Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
[ColonelCassad] In the center of Istanbul, a terrorist attack on a crowded pedestrian street.

A suicide bomber blew himself up among passers-by. At least 4 people were killed and many people were injured.

There is a 90% chance that the suicide bomber is associated with ISIS. As for the customers, let's see what the Turkish secret services say.

The Times of Israel adds:
An Israeli woman who was with her daughters and witnessed the blast said it occurred outside a restaurant that is popular with tourists from Israel.

Ottoman Turkish Authorities have offered few details and nobody immediately grabbed credit.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s justice minister, Bekir Bozdag, told pro-government broadcaster A Haber that Sherlocks were focusing on a woman who sat on a bench by the scene of the blast for about 40 minutes. The explosion took place just minutes after she left. He said her identity was not yet clear, nor was it clear what group might be behind the attack.
And from Shabelle Media, sharing the report from Hurriyet:
The blast occurred on the pedestrian Istiklal Avenue, which is popular among local and foreign tourists and lined with shops and restaurants, at around 4:20 pm local time.

"Initial assessments showed that four were killed and 38 others were maimed in the blast," said Governor Ali Yerlikaya. The chief prosecutor’s office in Istanbul has appointed five prosecutors to investigate the deadly blast.

The Ottoman Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has imposed a broadcast ban on the earth-shattering kaboom.
Update from the Times of Israel at 2:15 a.m. ET:
The person who planted the bomb on Istanbul’s Istiklal Street that killed at least six people and wounded dozens has been arrested, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu told Turkey’s official Anadolu news agency on Monday, pointing a finger at the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his vice president, Fuat Oktay, had earlier said that “a woman” was responsible for the attack but it was not immediately clear if the female suspect was the one arrested.

Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag told pro-government broadcaster A Haber earlier that investigators were focusing on a woman who sat on a bench by the scene of the blast for about 40 minutes. The explosion took place just minutes after she left.

Erdogan called the blast a “treacherous attack” and vowed that its perpetrators would be punished. Oktay put the wounded toll to 81, with two in serious condition.

In additional comments to Anadolu, Soylu accused the PKK of being behind the attack. “According to our findings, the PKK terrorist organization is responsible,” Soylu said.

The bomb ripped through the bustling pedestrian avenue in the heart of Istanbul on Sunday, killing six people, wounding several dozen and leaving panicked people to flee the fiery blast or huddle in cafes and shops.

Several SNA Factions In Northwest Syria Re-Converge
Media outlets circulated on Saturday news that the Second Legion, affiliated with the Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), readmitted Sultan Suleiman Shah Division (al-Amshat) and Hamza Division to its ranks.

The New Arab Website cited military sources as saying, "The readmission of the two factions to the Second Legion came under The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
’s orders after designating Fahim Issa as a general commander of the legion."

This step came within the framework of reorganizing the SNA factions, according to the sources.

On October 26, there were reports talking about a Ottoman Turkish plan to merge the SNA factions into a unified army under a single command.

Within the reorganization framework, Liberation and Construction Movement (LCM) — which includes the factions of Ahrar al-Sharqiya, Jaish al-Sharqiya, 20th Division, and Suqur al-Sham — began to dissolve itself to implement the agreement that resulted from a meeting between the leaders of the SNA factions in the Ottoman Turkish city of Gaziantep, according to the sources.

On November 3, Ottoman Turkish officers and intelligence services (MIT) met the leaders of the SNA to touch on the issue of forming a new military council and a unified security and civil administration in areas under their control in northern Syria.

On October 11, the factions of al-Amshat and Hamza supported Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS, formerly al-Nusra

Front) during the festivities that took place in SNA held-areas, north of Aleppo.

The following day, the HTS controlled the city of Afrin and Jindires district besides tens of villages in the countryside of the city under the pretext of "repelling offences" from the SNA’s Third Legion against Hamza Division on the back of killing a media activist and his pregnant wife in the city of al-Bab in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.

On October 21, the HTS withdrew its forces and its heavy weaponry from the village of Kafr Janneh, Afrin and Jindires towards its areas of control in Idlib, following a Ottoman Turkish-brokered agreement between both sides.

Military sources told North Press in a previous statement that the great convergence between the HTS, al-Amshat and Hamza Divisions and other factions paved the way for the HTS’ security service to set a foot in these factions’ areas while disguised in their uniforms.

Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, Oleg Yegorov, said, in a presser, "During the past 24 hours, five shelling operations were recorded from posts of the HTS in the de-escalation zone in Idlib."

Four attacks were carried out in Idlib and one in Hama, he said, citing Russian media outlets.

On 5 November, the center revealed that the HTS and the Turkistan Islamic Party are preparing to attack Khmeimim Air Base in Latakia.

The bandidos holy warriors have equipped a great number of drones with a range of action of up to 70 kilometers at workshops near the settlement of Khirbet al-Jouz, in Harem, north of Idlib Governorate, Yegorov added.

Iran issues first death sentence related to anti-government protests
[IsraelTimes] Tehran court says the accused committed serious felonies, including ’setting fire to a government building’ and ’conspiracy to commit a crime against national security’

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
on Sunday issued its first death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
linked to participation in "riots," amid nationwide protests since the death of Mahsa Amini, the judiciary’s Mizan Online website said.

The accused was sentenced in a Tehran court to death for the crime of "setting fire to a government building, disturbing public order, assembly and conspiracy to commit a crime against national security, and an enemy of God and corruption on earth," one of the most serious offenses under Iranian law, Mizan Online reported.

Another court in Tehran sentenced five others to prison terms of between five to 10 years for "gathering and conspiring to commit crimes against national security and disturbing public order."

All those convicted can appeal their sentence, Mizan added.

Dozens of people, mainly demonstrators but also security personnel, have been killed during the protests, which the authorities have branded as "riots."

Earlier on Sunday, the judiciary said it had charged more than 750 people in three provinces for involvement in such incidents.

More than 2,000 people had already been charged, nearly half of them in the capital Tehran, since the demonstrations began in mid-September, according to judiciary figures.

Judicial chief for the southern province of Hormozgan, Mojtaba Ghahremani, said 164 people had been charged "after the recent riots," Mizan Online earlier said.

They face accusations including "incitement to killing," "harming security forces," "propaganda against the regime" and "damaging public property," the website said, adding that their trials would begin "from Thursday in the presence of their lawyers."

Another 276 people were charged in the central province of Markazi, its judiciary chief Abdol-Mehdi Mousavi was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
100 young people were released after signing pledges not to participate in any future "riots," IRNA said.

In central Isfahan province, judicial chief Asadollah Jafari said 316 cases had been filed in connection with the recent strife.

Twelve have already gone to trial, the Tasnim news agency reported him as saying late Saturday.

Amini’s death on\ September 16 came days after her arrest by the morality police for an alleged breach of the country’s strict dress rules for women.

Authorities have denied claims by rights groups abroad that about 15,000 people have been detained in the ensuing unrest.

Iran on Sunday criticized a Friday meeting between French president Emmanuel Macron and opponents of the Islamic republic, calling Emmanuel Macron’s comments after the encounter "regrettable and shameful."

Macron met with four prominent Iranian dissidents, all of them women.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Syrian air defense systems repelled an Israeli air force missile attack southeast of the city of Homs, SANA reported on November 13, citing a Syrian military source.

“Our air defense forces are firing at air targets and managed to hit several enemy missiles,” the source said.

It is noted that the Israeli Air Force strikes from the airspace of neighboring Lebanon.
The Times of Israel adds:
According to Syria’s Sham FM radio station, in Sunday’s strike Israeli jets targeted the Shayrat Airbase, south of the city of Homs.

Military sources speaking to Rooters on condition of anonymity said the strikes had targeted a runway. The sources cited by the news agency said the airbase had recently been used by Iranian forces.

Images shared on social media appeared to show a large fireball and prolonged secondary explosions following the attack.

The runway and underground facilities at the Shayrat airbase have undergone a major expansion by the Russian military in the last three years.

Two Syrian soldiers were killed and three others were injured in alleged Israeli airstrikes that hit the Shayrat airbase southeast of Homs on Sunday evening, according to Syrian state media SANA.

The airstrikes were conducted from over Lebanese airspace in northern Lebanon, according to SANA. Syrian journalist Nour Abo Hasan reported that the airstrikes targeted a shipment of weapons intended for Hezbollah which was on its way to Lebanon near the airport.

Russia, which maintains a major military presence in Syria, has forces stationed near to Shayrat air base and uses the base, security sources say.
