There are, as far as I know, one or two jurisdictions left in the U.S. where prosecutors seek justice and uphold the law, rather than prosecute people so as to gain higher office. This isn't one of them...

George Zimmerman will go to jail. If he is acquitted of the Florida charges, he will be tried on Federal charges of violating Trayvon Martin's civil rights. If he is acquitted of those charges (unlikely), he will be tried for something else.
If he is acquitted, there will be riots across the country.

these accusations are unfounded and not relevant. She claims his family and he were racists but couldn't identify any particular incident or statement that proved that. Any Prosecutor with ethics and integrity would have never put her statement out and a Judge that was unbiased wouldn't have allowed it to poison the jury pool. He's been Nifonged. The Prosecutor Angela Corey and the Judge should be removed and lose their licenses

Frank has it right. This latest accusation has poisoned an already very week case for the gov't. I suspect Zimmerman will eventually be acquitted. I am told the local wine is superb and vila bargains abound in San Carlos Bariloche, Argentina. They will miss the coming revolution, but I wish he and his family well.

BTW -- there are various idiots claiming this *HAD* to be released by law. That's bunk -- it was entirely at the discretion of the judge. This isn't even admissible evidence under Florida law -- it isn't relevant and it's prejudicial.

Tyhe Minnesota Department of Vehicle Services is seriously concerned about people trying to game the system. So four years ago DVS got a federal grant to use facial recognition software, electronically comparing the facial features in photos from driver's licenses and state IDs.
"That's why we need this program to scrub these faces," said Doug Neville, communications director for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. "Because they're comparing points on a face, so whether you put on a beard or wear a hat, through the facial recognition program we're able to find those items."
Out of 11 million photos in the vehicle services database, facial recognition found nearly 1.3 million matches. Vehicle services then began going through those records by hand, looking at the pictures side by side. What they were after is fraud.
People like Pedro Chavez, aka Jose Cisneros, or Carlos Santiago, or Antonia Ledesma -- four separate Minnesota driver's licenses.
Detectives say the Albert Lea man was illegally collecting welfare for a decade, using real Minnesota driver's licenses obtained with phony documents. He was convicted of forgery, and deported.
"Is it a fraudulent birth certificate, is it a fake DL from another state?" Neville said. "Yes in all those cases as well as taking someone else's documentation and presenting it as their own."
Of these 24,000 driver's licenses, about 10,000 have been canceled. Beyond that, not much else has been done. Not a single name has been given yet to the Department of Human Services to check for welfare or food stamp fraud, and no names have been given or the Secretary of State to check against the voter rolls.
And what about criminal prosecution? "All I can say we've referred 5,500 cases to an agency who can take any action necessary," Neville said.

Millions of African citizens could come knocking on Israel's door in the next few years, demanding to be recognized as Jews, warns Dr. Shalva Weil. According to Weil, the past 15 years have seen a sharp rise in the number of tribes throughout Africa who are "rediscovering" their Jewish heritage.
Weil, from the Research Institute for Innovation in Education at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is an anthropologist and expert on Æthiopian Jewry who has spent years studying the Æthiopian community and its acclimation into Israeli society.
Weil recently gave a series of talks throughout South Africa and took part in a conference on African Jews hosted by the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, where she spoke about racism toward Æthiopian Jews in Israel.
The conference was the second one to be devoted to Black Judaism, after the establishment of the International Society for the Study of African Jewry (ISSAJ) by Dr. Edith Bruder of La Belle France. This year's event was held not only to encourage research on the issue, but also to allow representatives of the different communities to meet each other.
Weil explains that every one of the African groups has a unique story. For example, the Lemba people of South Africa, Zim-bob-we and in Mozambique and Malawi numbers some 70,000 Christians, but its leaders claim that they are the descendants of Yemenite Jews who migrated to South Africa. The Lemba people are seeking recognition as the descendants of Jews and have even appealed to the South African Jewish community for financial support to build synagogues.
Or take the Igbo Jews of Nigeria, who claim that they are descended from Syrian and Portuguese Jews who moved to Africa centuries ago. The Igbo Jews observe the laws of niddah and kosher slaughter, and circumcise their sons eight days after they are born, as well as observing the major Jewish holidays. The Igbo Jews have already built three synagogues that serve some 30,000 members.
Each such group has its own narrative, but they all want to strengthen their Jewish identity and hope that Israeli and Jewish institutions will recognize them as Jews.
Weil says that from an academic perspective, Black Judaism is a varied and exciting field. But she feels that the Israeli establishment is not aware of the phenomenon or its ramifications.
"It's important that in Israel people understand that millions of people throughout Africa consider themselves Jewish. Some declare themselves 'Jewish according to halacha.' As far as they are concerned, they are the sons of the lost tribes, and are certain that the Promised Land awaits them."

This started with the Ethiopian claim to The Ark of the Covenant. Then it expanded when a certain controversial film maker traced Jewish Ancestry into the heart of Africa after claiming the Ark was really a ceremonial drum.
Honestly I think it's entirely possible they do have Jewish heritage, and if they want to become Jewish with all the risk it entails let them. Just make it clear not to expect free hand-outs.

Researchers did some DNA profiling of the Lemba and found they had sequencing that matched, in part, the Cohen, or priestly caste of Judaism.
Makes sense to me.
They've found Aramaic inscriptions in Bactia and Minorahs in Kazychstan so finding remenents in Africa does not seem far fetched to me.

I saw a TV special on the Lemba and, as far as I can tell, they have a solid, scientific claim to being ethnically Jewish - or at least as Jewish as most people. Same thing could go for the Igbo for all I know.
From July 20, most likely the first of Ramadhan, the first Egyptian satellite channel completely operated by women wearing the full face veil (niqab) will be launched.
Named Mariya, after one of Prophet Mohammad's wives, who was a Coptic Egyptian freed slave, converted to Islam, it would have a full niqabi film crew. It will manage and operate the channel, including TV presenters, producers, directors and correspondents.
According to Al-Ahram on line the channel will air its programmes through the ultra-conservative Islamic Umma Channel for six hours every day. The majority of the programming will focus on the niqab and married life.
As it will be exclusively women managed channel men will be prohibited from working in or appearing on Mariya, and even participating in phone-ins during live programmes."

These are the same crooks who gave China most favored nation trade status knowing full well that they were dealing with a hostile totalitarian dictatorship that treats workers like slaves, disregards environmental protection and uses the profits to buy weapons that they aim at us.

Best to cut really hard and cut once.
i.e. call up the local heavies, then make the cuts. Then any obvious over-cuts you can recover from.
Of course the one cut that really needs to be made is the amount of bureaucratic direction in the economy, thus smaller state, less taxes on income (tax things the government creates instead, like patents, property rights and copyrights).

We were lucky - because we bit the green weiner when the rest of the world was not in a resession and had resources to export. In short, strategically, everyone has to pull on the rope and pay the piper to some degree. Dont really hear either party saying that in the USA - just mudslinging divisionist behavior perpetuated by the media. From the outside its concerning.
