Kazakhstan's Minister of Internal Affairs Details High Level of Organization Among Rioters
[SputnikNews] "Large groups of protesters in different parts of the city attacked patrol squads. They took control of seven gun shops and seized weapons and ammunition. They seized public transport and municipal vehicles and used them to ram squads of law enforcement. They threw homemade incendiary mixtures and fired guns at police. They burned service vehicles, including fire engines," Turgumbayev added.

US allocates USD 1.5 million for "human rights preservation in Kazakhstan."

US Embassy in Kazakhstan begins official "tender" to find "willing organizations" to distribute money.

US again allocates money to "strengthen the media landscape in Kazakhstan."

20.05.2021 (May 20, 2021)
The USA provides money in the amount of 240 million USD to build up military bases in 20 countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan (whether the governments of the countries ever agreed to this? ).

Thus, as you can see above, once Russia began moving its troops back toward the Ukraine Border in February into March, and the West realized they were going to have an actual fight on their hands over Ukraine, the West (i.e. U.S. Congress) regrouped and began throwing money at Kazakhstan. They decided THEN, back in March, they were going to move to destabilize Kazakhstan, and in April they started openly allocating the money to make it happen.

But wait . . . there's more!

Dec 16, 2021.
The US Embassy in Kazakhstan issues a travel warning for major Kazakh cities because of "upcoming demonstrations and warns of possible riots and mass arrests.

Well, well, well. That's some magic Crystal Ball the US Embassy in Kazakhstan has. They issued travel warnings about demonstrations and mass riots three full weeks BEFORE there was even any sign of such things. Gee, I wonder how they could have known? Maybe because THEY THEMSLEVES were arranging all of it?

Climax, MI - 170 Vehicle Pile-Up Triggers Fireworks and Evacuation
[ABC] A spectacular highway pile-up and fire in Michigan involved 170 cars, sparked a massive fireworks explosion and prompted an evacuation because one of the vehicles was carrying hazardous materials, police said.

Police asked people to evacuate within three miles of the huge chain-reaction crash because of the hazardous materials in one of the trucks.

The crash took place amid snowy road conditions on I-94 near the small town of Galesburg between Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Trooper Rick Carlson told ABC News.

There was at least one fatality. Firefighters struggled with a blaze that involved at least two cars and four large trucks. One of those trucks contained 40,000 pounds of fireworks and much of it detonated in a colorful explosion.

Twitter Doesn't Cancel Khamenei
[FrontPage] On Saturday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, tweeted: "Martyr Soleimani is an eternal reality that will live on forever. His assassins — including Trump & the like — will go down in history’s garbage bin, but of course after receiving retribution in this world for the crime they committed." This is a clear threat, but Twitter has not banned or suspended Khamenei’s account. After all, he was threatening Donald Trump, and as far as Twitter is concerned, what could be wrong with that?

Black Panther Defense Minister Leaves Congress to Spend More Time With His Hate Group
[FrontPage] Rep. Bobby Rush, the former Deputy Minister of Defense for the Black Panthers, announced that he’s joining his fellow Democrats fleeing the sinking ship ahead of the midterms, not for political reasons mind you, but in order to spend more time with his grandchildren.

"We plan to arm the total black community so when the pigs come down on us, we will be equal," Rush once bragged. "We advocate offensive violence against the power structure... we are at war and the Minister of Defense must be in charge."

As a House Democrat, Rush, suffering from criminal hypocrisy and a broken mirror, falsely claimed during the BLM riots that President Trump "wants to instigate a race war".

A month after two police officers were murdered, the cops finally raided a Black Panther apartment where Fred Hampton, the chairman of the Chicago chapter, was holed up. This time around, the Panthers got the worst of the exchange. Rush, who had been there hours earlier, emerged at Jesse Jackson’s service, claiming that he had been marked for death by the cops.

"If I was out on the street, they would have shot me down," he claimed.

Lia Thomas dominated by fellow Ivy League transgender swimmer Iszac Henig
[NY Post] Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls
It's a mixed-up, muddled-up, shook-up world
Except for Lia, Iszac ... L I A, I S Z A C.

The University of Pennsylvania’s transgender swimmer, Lia Thomas, was defeated by another transgender swimmer.

The record-shattering Thomas previously competed on the Penn men’s team and has transitioned to female.

But at an Ivy League swim meet Saturday, a Yalie, Iszac Henig, defeated Thomas in both the women’s 100- and 400-yard freestyle races, the Daily Mail reported.

Henig, who is transitioning from female to male, set a record for the women’s 50-yard freestyle, the outlet said.

Henig was able to compete on the women’s team because she had yet to start testosterone treatment, according to a June piece in The New York Times.

#1  Ivy League colleges are beclowning themselves now with out of control Wokeness and absurd levels of affirmative action preference for "under-represented minorities" that now include queers and chicks-with-dicks. Talented white and Asian males are increasingly saying F-you and dropping out of these madhouses in favor of excellent state flagship public schools.

This trend will destroy the reputation of Harvard Yale Princeton etc. Employers will come to see these as BS finishing schools for virtue-signalers whose distinctive skills are verbal fluency and a knack for figuring out how to tell liberal elites what they want to hear: Woke Soetoros.

Prediction: by 2030, at least one of Harvard, Yale, and Princeton will no longer be ranked among the world's top 25 universities.

#2  The people who do the rankings are just as woke, or maybe even woker. It's the schools that resist this that will be downgraded.
Posted by: Ed || 01/09/2022 11:48 Comments || Top||

#3  If you include the alphabet people, URMs ("under-represented minorities") now make up about 35% of those who attend Harv-Yale-Pton. Recruited athletes, children of big donors, other alumni and staff, and foreign students make up another 40%. Most of the remainder are drawn from fewer than a dozen "feeder" elite prep schools.

Which means that the odds that one of these ridiculous Woke Finishing School classes will produce another Richard Feynman or E.O. Wilson or James Watson or John Updike, George Kennan, Henry Kissinger, TS Eliot et al. are effectively zero.

Hospitals across the U.S. turning to foreign nurses as healthcare workers are fired over vaccine mandates
[FoxNews] Upwards of 5,000 international nurses are waiting on approval for U.S. visas.

Short-staffed hospitals across the country are turning to international nurses to fill staff shortages as thousands of healthcare workers across the country are being cut loose for not submitting to a coronavirus vaccine.

Administrators at Billings Clinic in Montana have contracts with two dozen international nurses and is one of "scores" of hospitals across the country bringing in nurses from other countries to address staffing issues including retirements, according to an NPR report.

The report states that a backlog of more than 5,000 international nurses are waiting from countries like Ghana, Thailand, and the Philippines to be cleared to obtain visa approval to work in U.S. hospitals.

"We are seeing an absolute boom in requests for international nurses," Lesley Hamilton-Powers, a board member of AAIHR and a vice president for Avant Healthcare Professionals in Florida, said.

The push for more international nurses comes as thousands of nurses and healthcare workers across the country are losing their hospital jobs over coronavirus vaccine requirements.

Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic recently fired 700 unvaccinated employees who did not submit to coronavirus vaccines. Over 500 healthcare workers have been fired in Massachusetts for disobeying vaccine mandates and over 30,000 healthcare workers in New York have been fired.

Nearly twice as many military members died from suicide July-Sept than from coronavirus since pandemic's start
[FoxNews] 163 service members committed suicide in Q3 2021.

According to data released by the Pentagon, 163 service members committed suicide in Q3 of 2021 which broke down into 70 active service members, 56 reserve members, and 37 members of the National Guard.

Suicides among active members of the military dropped from Q2 to Q3 but suicides rose among reserve and National Guard members.

Nearly twice as many members of the U.S. military died of suicide from July to September than have died from the coronavirus during the entire pandemic.

As of January 8, 86 members of the military have died from the coronavirus.

In September, the total number of coronavirus deaths in the military was 43 and the doubling of deaths from September to January is partially due to the Delta variant spike, the Pentagon says.

A total of 476 members of the U.S. military committed suicide in 2021 through three quarters. In 2020, Pentagon data shows that 701 service members committed suicide.

In December, the military began taking disciplinary action against U.S. service members who had not complied with the federal government's vaccine mandate. More than 200 Marines have been booted from the United States military for refusing the vaccine.

The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.

This summer, a research paper concluded that a staggering 30,177 American active military personnel and veterans involved in post-9/11 wars are estimated to have died by suicide – a figure at least four times greater than the 7,057 service members who were killed in combat during that time.

Army paratrooper Robert Nicoson acquitted after Syria gunfight allegations
[FoxNews] Nicoson, a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, faced seven charges, including failure to obey an order and reckless endangerment.

An 82nd Airborne Division soldier was totally acquitted Friday evening during a court-martial after facing a series of charges stemming from a deadly gunfight in Syria in 2020.

"He was fully acquitted of all the allegations," said Phillip Stackhouse, the civilian defense attorney representing Sgt. 1st Class Robert Nicoson, in a statement to the Army Times.

"Sergeant First Class Nicoson, and his family, continue to be humbled and thankful to those that have supported him and stood by his side," he continued, after the military hearing at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Nicoson was initially charged with two counts of failure to obey an order, two counts of reckless endangerment, one count of communicating threats, and three counts of obstructing justice for his role in a deadly firefight that took place Aug. 17, 2020, near the northeastern Syrian town of Qamishli.

The firefight started when Nicoson’s patrol sought passage through a pro-regime checkpoint and was initially blocked from doing so. After a discussion through translators, the U.S. forces were allowed passage before they were met with small arms fire, according to a report by Task & Purpose.

Nicoson’s unit, the 82nd Airborne Division’s Blackhorse Troop, 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, returned fire, killing one Syrian soldier. No U.S. soldiers were injured or killed in the 10-minute incident.

Onlookers captured the firefight on video, but its start was not recorded.

In the months following the firefight, an Army Criminal Investigation Division inquiry determined Nicoson was at fault.

On Friday, the jury — composed of two lieutenant colonels and six command sergeants major — cleared Nicoson of any wrongdoing and a motion to clear him of an eighth charge was granted during the evidence phase, according to the report.

"The trial lasted for a week and over 20 witnesses were called to the stand to provide testimony to a combat experienced panel," Stackhouse added in an email to Army Times. "After just over 2-hours of deliberations, the panel president delivered the verdict in open court."

Lt. Col. Brett Lea, a spokesman for the 82nd Airborne Division, confirmed the acquittal to the Army Times, but did not otherwise comment on its outcome.

Despotism Is the New Normal: Looming Threats to Freedom in 2022
[Rutherford Institute] Despotism has become our new normal.

Digital tyranny, surveillance. Intolerance, cancel culture, censorship. Lockdowns, mandates, government overreach. Supply chain shortages, inflation. Police brutality, home invasions, martial law. The loss of bodily integrity, privacy, autonomy.

These acts of tyranny by an authoritarian government have long since ceased to alarm or unnerve us. We have become desensitized to government brutality, accustomed to government corruption, and unfazed by the government’s assaults on our freedoms.

This present trajectory is unsustainable. The center cannot hold.

The following danger points pose some of the greatest threats to our collective and individual freedoms now and in the year to come.

Censorship. The most controversial issues of our day—gay rights, abortion, race, religion, sexuality, political correctness, police brutality, et al.—have become battlegrounds for those who claim to believe in freedom of speech but only when it favors the views and positions they support. Thus, while on paper, we are technically free to speak, in reality, we are only as free to speak as the government and tech giants such as Facebook, Google or YouTube may allow. Yet it’s a slippery slope from censoring so-called illegitimate ideas to silencing truth. What we are witnessing is the modern-day equivalent of book burning which involves doing away with dangerous ideas—legitimate or not—and the people who espouse them. Unfortunately, censorship is just the beginning. Once you allow the government and its corporate partners to determine who is worthy enough to participate in society, anything goes.

The Emergency State. Now that the government has gotten a taste for flexing its police state powers by way of a bevy of lockdowns, mandates, restrictions, contact tracing programs, heightened surveillance, censorship, overcriminalization, etc., "we the people" may well find ourselves burdened with a Nanny State inclined to use its draconian pandemic powers to protect us from ourselves. Therein lies the danger of the government’s Machiavellian version of crisis management that justifies all manner of government tyranny in the so-called name of national security. This is the power grab hiding in plain sight.

Pre-crime. The government is about to rapidly expand its policing efforts to focus on pre-crime and thought crimes. Precrime, straight out of the realm of dystopian science fiction movies such as Minority Report, aims to prevent crimes before they happen by combining widespread surveillance, behavior prediction technologies, data mining, precognitive technology, and neighborhood and family snitch programs to enable police to capture would-be criminals before they can do any damage. The intent, of course, is for the government to be all-seeing, all-knowing and all-powerful in its preemptive efforts to combat domestic extremism, a broad label that can be applied to anything or anyone the government perceives to be a threat to its power.

The Surveillance State. This all-seeing fourth branch of government, comprised of a domestic army of government snitches, spies and techno-warriors, watches everything we do, reads everything we write, listens to everything we say, and monitors everywhere we go. Beware of what you say, what you read, what you write, where you go, and with whom you communicate, because it is all being recorded, stored, and catalogued, and will be used against you eventually, at a time and place of the government’s choosing. Even agencies not traditionally associated with the intelligence community are part of the government’s growing network of snitches and spies.

I went home and went to a website that claimed it could track a person by their cell number.

I entered my cell number and used my home address as the starting point and it drew a map from my home to the exact point in the woods where I had placed my phone.

If I had any of your cell phone numbers I would know exactly where you are as you are reading this.

Chief Justice Roberts criticizes White House for referring to Biden's vaccine mandate as a ‘workaround'
[Republic Brief] On Friday, conservative justices questioned President Joe Biden’s vaccine requirement for businesses, as the Court heard arguments from Republican officials and businesses who want to block the policy.

Justices John Roberts and Neil Gorsuch have said that states and Congress should lead the effort to combat the pandemic, rather than a federal agency.

Amy Coney Barrett, a conservative justice, argued the workplace policy was too broad, affecting more than 80 million Americans.

GOP-led states and business leaders brought a lawsuit against the mandate for companies with 100 or more employees as an example of federal overreach.

It appears that the liberal justices sided with the Biden administration’s position that vaccinations and mandates were the best way to curb the pandemic.

Roberts, however, asked U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar whether the Official Safety and Health Act of 1970 authorized the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to adopt the mandate.

’That was 50 years ago that you’re saying Congress acted. I don’t think it had COVID in mind.

’That was almost closer to the Spanish flu than it is to today’s problem,’ Roberts said, referring to the pandemic of 1918.

Arguments were heard while the nation struggled with the latest wave of infections, spurred on by the highly infectious Omicron variant.

#7  Watch the hand you cant see. How this will work is vanguard corporations are submitting a CONFIRMATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH OSHA COVID-19 ETS document. These large national and Intl corps will require anyone doing business with them be in compliance as a condition of business. Consequently, Co's, whose legal dept's are awaiting the outcome, will be forced to establish protocols to fulfill compliance. State governing bodies, which are always equal to or more stringent than OSHA, will then require it. So you will not be forced to vaccinate, you will be forced to comply or quit your job and leave the state if you want to work. As an aside I think one reason for the illegal surge is to supplant the flight from blue states, to prevent losing electorals and red state electoral gains due to population shift.

‘It Is Dead': Federal Judge Sides With Biden Administration on Keystone XL
[Republic Brief] The Biden administration has been granted the request to dismiss a lawsuit filed by more than 20 GOP attorneys general challenging the revocation of the Keystone XL Pipeline’s permit.

In his ruling, Judge Jeffrey Brown of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas ruled that because TC Energy, the pipeline company, abandoned the project, he could not determine whether Biden’s action was constitutional. TC Energy announced on June 9 that it would permanently stop construction on the pipeline and focus on other projects.

Upon taking office, Biden canceled the pipeline’s federal permit by executive order on Jan. 20. U.S. officials stressed that a clean energy economy must be prioritized and that the Keystone pipeline would lead to the country losing its role as a global climate leader.

"The court takes TC Energy at its word that Keystone XL is dead," wrote Judge Brown, a Trump nominee, in his ruling on Thursday. "And because it is dead, any ruling this court makes on whether President Biden had the authority to revoke the permit would be advisory. Thus, the court has no jurisdiction and the case must be dismissed as moot."

Brown did not directly address whether Biden was constitutionally permitted to make the order.

The Biden administration was sued on March 17 by 23 states led by Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who claim Congress has the power to regulate foreign and interstate commerce. In the lawsuit, the AGs argued that Biden "must work with and abide by the limits set by Congress—whether he likes them or not."

Science & Technology
New study of Pfizer's COVID vaccine has some disturbing findings
[American Thinker] I just read a disturbing study of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine's efficacy by the Canadian COVID Care Alliance. This organization comprises over 500 independent Canadian doctors, scientists, and health care practitioners. The title of the article, "The Pfizer Inoculations for COVID-19: More Harm Than Good," is disturbing. The article itself, which discusses the many nuances of this study, is even more distressing.

You may recall the much-reported "95% efficacy" of the vaccine against COVID-19. We all assumed that if we were vaccinated, we would then only have a 5% chance of becoming infected. Sounds great, but the statement is misleading. In the Pfizer study, only 8 out of 18,198, or 0.043% of participants who received the vaccine, contracted COVID, while 162 out of 18,325, 0.884% in the control group who received injections of saline became infected. Therefore, while there was a Relative Risk Reduction of 95%, the Actual Risk Reduction was a mere 0.84%.

This disparity certainly changes one's perspective on just how effective the vaccine is. Everyone in the study, including the control group, had a less than 1% chance of infection. Of course, as the virus spread throughout the population, a higher percentage of people became infected. The conclusions of the study remain the same insofar as the likelihood of the vaccine preventing infection in any given controlled group of persons.

The article also asserts, among other things, that the study was conducted on relatively young and healthy persons but was then recommended to be used first on old, less healthy individuals. The trials did not follow scientific protocols, owing to the desire for rapid deployment. Follow-up studies were made virtually impossible because as subjects were unblinded — made aware of whether they had received the vaccine or the placebo. The unvaccinated largely chose to receive the vaccine. Thus, there is no control group remaining to study

The most damning findings concerned the lack of disclosure of possible, or even likely, long-term health risks on vaccinated versus unvaccinated individuals. These findings revealed significant increases for the vaccinated. It also pointed out that for adolescents and children, the vaccine posed all risk with virtually no benefit, since those young individuals, even if they became infected, had a near-universal good outcome. Myocarditis and other afflictions are a substantial health hazard facing vaccinated young people.

I would urge everyone to read this study by going to the link above. Seek out other studies and reports. We all owe it to ourselves to become informed and educated about something this important. Our lives and those of our children are at stake. We must also demand more disclosure than we have been receiving from the drug companies and from our government officials. Their priorities, whether political or profit-driven, are different from ours. The questions concerning those who have placed their political status or their desire for greater profits above the welfare of the population are subjects for another day.

#4  It's not truly a vaccine. It's actually a super-risky gene therapy that teaches the body to manufacture spike proteins. This means that its effects are much riskier and much less predictable than a normal vaccine.

For public health policy, the big problem is that the risk-benefit calculus varies enormously by age. Young people are at almost zero risk from COVID but are at great risk of myocarditis from the vaccine.

If we had followed the Great Barrington Declaration doctors' wise approach and focused our efforts on the elderly, we would have been far better off in every way.

This self-inflicted catastrophe has destroyed public confidence in the medical profession and shown our political class to be power-mad idiots who blindly follow each other's worst instincts without any regard for data, evidence or logic.

‘We Have Been Lied To': Megyn Kelly Slams Bureaucrats Like ‘Prophet' Dr. Fauci Raking In The Cash
[WIRE] Megyn Kelly this week laid into bureaucrat "prophet" Dr. Anthony Fauci for "lying" to the American public regarding protocols and realities on all things COVID-related, citing flip-flops on quarantine timelines, cloth masks, and vaccine protection.

"The truth is that ’10 days’ [for quarantining] was a made-up standard from the beginning," Kelly said on her show, referring to the recent change from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to cut back the ten-day quarantine frame to five days, so long as you don’t have symptoms.

"As was the six-feet distancing rule," Kelly continued, "as was the cloth mask rule, as was the 70% for herd immunity rule. I could go on."

"The point is: we have been lied to, we have been actively misled, we have been led around like mules on a tether by government bureaucrats, like Fauci, who wants to shut down your job while he makes north of $400,000 a year — and we learned this week is set to retire with a pension of over $350,00 a year."

"These people wanna muzzle your kid all day at school while they parade around maskless at dinners and the Met Gala," slammed Kelly, seemingly referring to far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and other elected Democrats.

"They want to scare parents into sticking an experimental vaccine into their kids’ arms over and over and over — not one, but two shots, and then a mandatory third. Or no sports, or school, or indoor fun of any kind, despite the data that unvaccinated young people face a risk far less severe than that of fully-vaccinated adults."

Rand Paul hijacks The Babylon Bee: ‘Is Fauci Advising Justice Sotomayor?'
[Breitbart] Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) asked if Dr. Anthony Fauci is "advising" Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor after she touted falsehoods during oral arguments on Friday at the Supreme Court as justices weighed President Joe Biden’s coercive vaccine mandates.

"We have over 100,000 children, which we’ve never had before, in serious condition, many on ventilators" from the coronavirus, Sotomayor asserted on Friday, raising eyebrows.

After the remarks surfaced, Sen. Paul, a prominent critic of Anthony Fauci, tweeted: "Sotomayor: ’over 100,000 children...in serious condition, many on ventilators’ Is Fauci advising Justice Sotomayor? Will YouTube censor her?"

Air Force Admits to Lowering Physical Fitness Standards to Allow Woman to Join Elite Unit
[American Greatness] The U.S. Air Force allegedly went out of its way to lower the standards of physical fitness tests and other exams in order to ensure that a female candidate could ultimately qualify for the elite Special Tactics team, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

The allegations stem from an anonymous memo that was received by the Beacon, claiming that a female candidate who repeatedly failed and quit multiple times when she initially couldn’t pass the training program was allowed to try again until the qualifications were lowered in her favor.

Lt. Gen. Jim Slife, head of the Air Force Special Operations Command, has since responded by claiming that "norms" have indeed changed.

"How we bring trainees through the pipeline today is different than the way we brought them through the pipeline 15 years ago, because our understanding of the best way to get trainees to meet these standards by the time they join the operational force has evolved," Slife said. "It will continue to do so."

The memo claims that the woman first received "preferential treatment" during the Special Tactics Officer selection process after she quit a swimming test. Despite this, she was "invited to return" to attempt the training again, which itself was a violation of "societal norms" in the Air Force.

The memo continues by describing how the woman "self-eliminated" on multiple occasions after she continued to fail various physical fitness exams; nevertheless, she was directly approached by Air Force leadership and encouraged to "stay in the training pipeline despite her effort to self-eliminate/quit." Those in leadership allegedly predicted that she would ultimately pass the exams "regardless of if she meets standards or not."

The incident is just the latest in a series of examples of women being arbitrarily favored for advancement in the military, ever since the 2015 decision by Barack Obama’s Secretary of Defense, Ash Carter, to make all combat roles available for women. But veterans, Republican lawmakers, and others have pointed out that the vastly different standards for men and women are necessary due to their extreme physical and biological differences, thus meaning that some roles could only be fulfilled by men.

"The military community is not against women serving in the Air Force Special Warfare unit," said an anonymous service member regarding the incident described in the memo. "However, we want the first female to have earned the beret and NOT have been given it."

Slife, however, defended the conduct alleged in the memo by pointing out that "there is a difference between standards and norms. Norms may adapt over time, but the standards are always tied to our mission. As the mission changes, the needed standards may change as well, but that hasn’t happened in this case."

He also accused the authors of the memo of "bullying and harassment" against the female candidate, claiming that it was "singling out a fellow service member for public abuse."

Bulli Bai app case: Mastermind connected to similar Sulli Deals case
[OneIndia] The investigation in the 'Bulli Bai' application case has so far suggested that the intention of the criminal mastermind was to get publicity and make an identity of his own, the Delhi Police said on Friday. The probe has so far not revealed anyone else's involvement in motivating Niraj Bishnoi (21) into doing such activities and his action can be attributed to the type of social media content he consumed, it said.

Police officials said there is a possibility about his alleged involvement in the earlier 'Sulli Deals' case and that they are investigating the matter. "There is a possibility that his network is linked to Sulli Deals. The devices used by him are being scanned. Through him, we might also reach the culprits of Sulli Deals," they said. Interestingly, in a case registered in southwest district where a woman journalist had registered a complaint, Bishnoi had allegedly posed as a media person and tried to mislead the investigation by the cyber cell unit, police said.

"During the Sulli Deal probe, he tried to mislead our team by calling them on WhatsApp by impersonating himself as a media person. He also tried to extract information about the developments in the probe. We found this through his phone records," the police official said. Bishnoi, the creator of the Bulli Bai application, had earlier also created an account on Twitter making lewd remarks on the picture of a complainant and even tweeted about the auction of the person, police said on Friday. One of such accounts came into light when the Sulli Deals case was under investigation. Through this handle, he had tried to plant some information regarding the possible propagator/originator of the Sulli Deals app, they said. With the arrest of the engineering student, the Delhi Police had said it has solved the case related to hundreds of Moslem women being listed for "auction" on the Bulli Bai app on the Github platform. During interrogation, it was found that Bishnoi had earlier created various Twitter handles with the initial name of "giyu" which is a gaming character.

Ghislaine Maxwell victim says Virginia Giuffre told her about sleeping with Prince Andrew
[NYPOST] One of the key witnesses in Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex-trafficking trial came forward Friday with new information about Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s sexual abuse allegations against Prince Andrew.

Giuffre, who was 17 at the time, is currently suing Andrew in New York, accusing him of sexually assaulting her when she was underage.

NYC hate crime victim dies from his injuries
[NYPOST] An Asian man who was brutally assaulted in an April hate crime attack has died from his injuries, the NYPD announced Saturday.

Yao Pan Ma, 61, was repeatedly kicked in the head April 23 while collecting cans in East Harlem, cops said.

Ex-con Jarrod Powell was caught on video assaulting Ma, and busted four days after the savage attack, which left the victim in a coma.

Ma died Dec. 31, the NYPD said.

Powell, 49, was initially charged with attempted murder and two counts of of assault as a hate crime. He has pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
The case has now been designated a homicide, though upgraded charges were not yet filed, the NYPD said.

Powell, who has at least 15 prior busts dating back to 1988, claimed the victim attacked him first — and that video of the sickening assault was "a whole lot of bulls—t."

He was held on $100,000 cash bail at his arraignment. Ma, an out-of-work Chinese immigrant, was collecting cans at Third Avenue and 125th Street to help make ends meet when he was stomped.

Ma was taken to Harlem Hospital following the beating. His wife, Baozhen Chen, had feared her husband would not recover from his medically induced coma — and demanded justice for the father of her two children.

Police discover live deer in car trunk in DUI stop
[NYPOST] A Pennsylvania woman had more than junk in her trunk during a traffic stop this week.

Newberry Township Police were shocked to find a live deer in the trunk of the 19-year-old’s car when they stopped her Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence.

The driver told the officers she hit the deer and placed it in her trunk with the aid of a passenger. Both thought the deer was dead, but later realized it was still alive as they kept on driving in the area about 15 minutes south of Harrisburg, according to a report.

During the DUI stop, police asked the passenger, a 21-year-old man, to take the deer out of the trunk and put it back into the wild. It was not clear if the animal sustained any injuries.

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. Gunmen kill 140 people in Nigeria: residents
[AlAhram] Gunmen known in northwest Nigeria as "bandidos" killed at least 140 people in multiple raids this week, four residents told AFP Saturday, but there was no official confirmation.

Clashes between herders and farmers over access to land has plagued northwest and central Nigeria for years, with some groups evolving into criminal gangs who now terrorise local communities.

"We buried a total of 143 people killed by the bandidos in the attacks," said Balarabe Alhaji, a community leader in one of the affected villages in Zamfara state.

Hundreds of cycle of violence-riding button men rampaged through ten villages in Anka and Bukkuyum districts on Wednesday through Thursday, shooting residents and looting and burning homes, locals said.

Officials and security agencies have not yet commented on the attacks.

Babandi Hamidu, a resident of Kurfa Danya village said the murderous Moslems were shooting "anyone on sight".

"More than 140 people were buried across the ten villages and the search for more bodies is ongoing because many people are unaccounted for," Hamidu said.

Idi Musa, a resident of another village, Kurfa Danya, said "the corpse count is huge. We are talking of around 150 people killed by the bandidos."

The bandidos also stole "around 2,000 cattle," Musa added.

Another resident who only gave his first name Babangida gave a similar account.

All four sources said they were present at burials in their respective villages.

On Wednesday, the Nigerian government officially labelled bandidos as terrorists, to bring tougher sanctions against convicted button men, their informants and supporters.

In the official gazette, the government said activities of Yan Bindiga and Yan Ta'adda -- meaning bandidos in the local Hausa language -- were "acts of terrorism".

"We labelled them terrorists... we are going to deal with them as such," President Muhammadu Buhari told Nigerian TV this week.

The 79-year-old former army general is also battling a more than decade long jihadist insurgency in the northeast.

About 200 bodies have been recovered and buried after gunmen suspected to be bandits invaded different communities in Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of Zamfara State.

Some of the communities are Barayar Zaki, Wanu, Rafin Gero, Laho, Lallaho, Kurfar Danya, Dutsin Dan Ajiya, Tungar Geza, Kewaye and Tungar Na More.

SaharaReporters gathered that over 200 corpses have been recovered from bushes as some of the people were caught unawares on their farmlands.

In Kurfad Danye alone, sources said about 140 bodies of vigilante members were buried on Friday.

The bandits, who were about 300 and armed with sophisticated weapons, had on Wednesday stormed the communities on motorcycles and started firing sporadic gunshot.

The terrorists also destroyed valuables, abducted and displaced several persons, including women and children in the affected communities.

Deadly attacks have raged across Zamfara State where banditry had thrived.

Farming and herding communities in the state have long been terrorised by gangs, who raid villages, steal cattle and kidnap residents for ransom.

Turkey to Withdraw Mercenaries from Libya
So they’ve said repeatedly. But it keeps on not happening.
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Friday, a Ottoman Turkish security delegation visited Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
and Misrata, informing officials of the transfer of a new batch of Syrian mercenaries outside the country early next week, according to al-Arabiya news. The Ottoman Turkish delegation met with Libya’s 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) in Tripoli, and held a tripartite meeting with an "Italian security delegation in order to coordinate security and logistical efforts."

Al-Arabiya mentioned that the Ottoman Turkish delegation also met Presidential candidate and former Interior Minister, Fathi Bashagha in Misrata. It noted that Ankara wants to appoint another envoy with, "wider powers" than its Ambassador in Libya.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
sent thousands of Syrian mercenaries to support the previous Government of National Accord (GNA), to fight the Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly...
Last week, JMC member, Emarji al-Amami said that the Libyan National Army (LNA) deported 300 Sudanese fighters last week.

Al-Amami told Fawasel Media that the deportation of the fighters came in accordance with the "goodwill initiative of the LNA, and are now waiting for a similar action from the other side in western Libya."

"The Military Commission is in a permanent meeting, in constant communication, and is working to accomplish its assigned tasks," he noted
"We hope that the politicians will reach an agreement that will bring the country out of its current situation," he added.

Al-Amami indicated that the JMC is awaiting the exit mechanisms of the Ottoman Turkish and Russian forces. Russia and Turkey will put these mechanisms under the supervision of the international community. "International observers will monitor the withdrawal of the foreign forces," he concluded.

Notably, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated on 10 October, that a new batch of 100 Syrian mercenaries had been repatriated to Syria. This coincided with the back-and-forth transfer operations of mercenaries. The batch also contained fighters who were transported to Libya in 2019, the SOHR said.

Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla al-Mangoush told Rooters in October, that some imported muscle have left the country. This comes as the government seeks to mobilize international support to withdraw the remaining forces.

"The reports are correct. There is a very modest start," al-Mangoush said at a news conference in Kuwait. "We are still seeking a larger and comprehensive organization for the exit of mercenaries," she added.

The ceasefire agreement between Libya’s warring parties called for all foreign mercenaries to be withdrawn within three months of its signing in October 2020.

When you know no treason charges are coming. Trump's Former CIA Director Gina Haspel Joins Attorneys Rod Rosenstein and Sally Yates at International Law Firm
[GatewayPundit] Former CIA Director Gina Haspel joined law firm King and Spalding. Her bio says:

Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Gina Haspel is a senior national security advisor for King & Spalding’s National Security and Corporate Espionage practice. She advises clients on globally significant projects, drawing on her unique experience as Director of the CIA to counsel clients on national security, information technology, cybersecurity and other issues. In particular, she helps the firm’s corporate, private equity, family office and other global clients to assess and manage institutional risks.

Haspel was in the UK during the beginnings of the Russiagate scandal against the candidate and then President Trump. President Trump did NOT do all he could to undo the corruption within the CIA:

Haspel joins fellow conspirator Rod Rosenstein who famously took over the DOJ under Jeff Sessions and ran the corrupt and criminal Russia collusion sham. Rosenstein signed a second scope memo to keep the investigation going even though there was no evidence to do so. This was all an illegal effort to remove President Trump from office.

Sally Yates is also at King and Spalding where she works alongside Rosenstein in the Special Matters and Government Administrations group. She is infamous for setting up General Michael Flynn in the first week of President Trump’s Administration.

Iran sanctions U.S. officials over Soleimani murder
[SHAFAQ] Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
imposed sanctions on United States individuals for their involvement in the liquidation of the Commander of the Quds Forces, Qasem Soleimani.

On Saturday, Iran's Foreign Ministry stated that the sanctioned individuals include Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr., and former National Security Adviser Robert C. O'Brien.

"The individuals on the list of sanctions participated in the decision-making, planning, organization, financing, support, as well as in the leadership or implementation of the terrorist act," the ministry explained.

Soleimani, head of an elite overseas unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, was killed along with Iraqi leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis on January 3, 2020, in a U.S. dronezap on his convoy at Baghdad airport.

Washington had accused Soleimani of criminal masterminding attacks by Iranian-aligned "militias" on U.S. forces in the region. His killing took U.S.-Iranian hostilities into uncharted waters and stoked concern about a major conflagration.

Iraqi Army, PMF thwart an ISIS attack north of Diyala
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

On Saturday, the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) foiled an ISIS attack on the outskirts of al-Azim district, north of Diyala Governorate.

A commander in PMF's "Nida'a Diyala " Brigade, Fattah al-Azzawi, told Shafaq News Agency, "ISIS elements attacked security points of the Popular Forces and the Iraqi Army, in Albu Bakr village, northwest of al-Azim."

He added, "the Army and the PMF clashed with the Lions of Islam and forced them to flee towards the border areas with Saladin."

"The situation is now under control," he affirmed.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella went down under the weight of the custard...
a security source told our Agency that the attack maimed two Iraqi soldiers.

Al-Azim district is exposed to frequent attacks on the borders of Saladin due to security gaps and the lack of military reinforcements.

Thousands of families were displaced from al-Azim, al-Saadiya, Jalawla, North Miqdadiyah, and East Mansuriya in 2014 during the ISIS invasion.

In 2017, Iraq declared final victory over ISIS after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country, three years after the Death Eater group captured about a third of Iraq's territory.

Yet, ISIS still has sleeper cells in several Iraqi Governorates.

Home Front: Politix
American Oligarchy
[AMGREATNESS] To observe that the Left and its cheerleading media have treated the one-year anniversary of the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot as a solemn occasion would be to understate the point. For the Left, the (actually) mostly peaceful demonstrations of that day, which for a small percentage of demonstrators did entail illegal trespassing of the Capitol, represented a watershed moment in the history of our "democracy." January 6 was the day, the narrative goes, where "deplorable" Trumpians attempted to effectuate an "insurrection" and a "coup," seeking to "overturn" the results of the perfect and pristine 2020 presidential election.

The lead-up to the one-year January 6 anniversary was endlessly promoted by our insular and self-congratulatory Washington press corps as something akin to the one-year anniversary of September 11, 2001. The imbecilic and senile dolt who is our commander-in-chief dedicated his January 6, 2022, remarks to excoriating his predecessor for that predecessor’s alleged incitement of an "insurrection." Defying parody, a candlelight vigil was held at the National Mall—"in remembrance of the attack on our democracy that occurred on January 6, 2021."

In fairness, it is true that modern America no longer meets a threshold definition of "democracy." But the Left is wrong as to why. America in the year 2022 is not a nation bedeviled by a great scourge of right-wing political violence, but it is a nation bedeviled by a monolithic and intellectually homogenous oligarchy

Missing Florida woman last seen swimming in alligator-infested river
[NYPOST] Authorities in Florida have released chilling footage of a missing woman swimming and wading in an alligator-infested river before she vanished.
Oh, golly! I wonder what happened to her?
Paola Miranda-Rosa, 31, who authorities say is schizophrenic,
...and who clearly didn’t see a need for treatment, with sadly predictable results....
was reported missing by her family three weeks ago after she was last seen at a relative’s Orlando apartment.
"I think I'll go for a swim."
"No, I don't feel like it."

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office revealed this week that hikers had since come forward to say they spotted the missing woman in Wekiva Springs State Park on Dec. 18 — a day after her family last saw her.
"It's a hot day."
"Not that hot. It's the middle of December."
"In Florida."

The hikers gave Sherlocks a video they took of the woman swimming solo in the river.
"I'm going in."
"No, I'm not. The river's full of alligators."
"They won't bother me. I ain't never been bit by an alligator."

Family members identified the woman in the video as Miranda-Rosa, the sheriff’s office said.
"Yessir, that's them."
Authorities have been using high-tech underwater camera systems to trawl roughly 4.5 miles of the river near where Miranda-Rosa was last seen.
"The water's fine."
"I shouldn't be here."
"Look at that cute alligator over there."
"He's a big 'un!"
"Lookidat! He's coming over to play."
"I wish I'd stayed on the shore."

They have also been scouring the woods on either side of the river for any trace of her.
Check the stomachs of the alligators that look particularly satisfied.
She self-identifies as She/Her/Lunch

Oh, she sailed away on a sunny summer day,
On the back of a crocodile.
“You see,” said she, “he’s as tame as he could be,
“I’ll float him down the Nile.”
Well, the croc winked his eye as she waved to them goodbye,
Wearing a happy smile,
At the end of the ride, the lady was inside,
And the smile was on the crocodile!

Iraq
Syria hands over 50 ISIS suspects to Iraq
[Rudaw] Iraq has received 50 nationals suspected of being Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) members from Syria, Iraq's Security Media Cell said on Saturday.

The cell says the handover took place at the Rabia border crossing in coordination with Iraq's Joint Operations Command.

The SDF arrested thousands of ISIS fighters and their wives and children when they took control of the group’s last stronghold in Syria in March 2019.

Most are being kept at al-Hol camp in north-eastern Syria, which officials have referred to as a ticking time bomb. It is populated by more than 60,000 people - mostly women and kiddies of different nationalities.

ISIS sleeper cells are active in the camp and multiple deaths have been reported over the past months. Many Iraqi nationals have also been returned to Iraq from the camp, despite Iraq being one of the world’s top executioners, according to Amnesia Amnesty International.

Since the rise of ISIS in 2014, thousands of people have been detained across Iraq for suspected links to terrorist groups, including ISIS, while hundreds have been executed. At least 17 people sentenced to death for terror charge were executed in 2020, reported AFP while Amnesty recorded 100 executions in Iraq in 2019, a number that dropped to 45 in the following year.

Iraq's Kata'ib Hezbollah warned against ''splitting'' the most prominent component
[SHAFAQ] Iraq's Kata'ib Hezbollah warned against "splitting" the Shiite ranks, confirming that the new government should be only "Iraqi."

A security official of the Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah group in Iraq, Abu Ali al-Askari, said on Twitter, "We affirm that the next government must be Iraqi, neither eastern nor western, nor British, nor American, nor Emirati."

Concerning the support of Sunni blocs to a Shiite component (The Sadrist), al-Askari stressed, "the intervention of the Sunni forces (Azm and Takadum) or the Kurdish parties in favor of one party of the largest component (Shiites) will contribute to the instability of the country."

"If they got gains, they would be temporary, and everyone will lose."

Al-Askari concluded, "the attempt to dominate and exclude the majority, which represents 90% of the largest component, will lead to splitting the ranks, and this is what the enemies of the Iraqi people want."

Terror Threat in Asian Countries Declined in 2021, Singapore Think-Tank Reports
[BenarNews] Terrorist threats in Southeast and South Asian countries declined in 2021, a Singapore think-tank said in its annual threat assessment published this week, noting that COVID-19 movement restrictions had "flattened the curve of terrorism."

There were fewer terror-related incidents in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Bangladesh as governments battled the pandemic, according to the Counter Terrorist Trends and Analysis report published by researchers at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies.

In Thailand in 2021, meanwhile, violent mostly peaceful incidents connected to an insurgency in the far south were similar to those in the previous year, the researchers found.

Chinese man pleads guilty to stealing Monsanto trade secret
[FOXBUSINESS] A Chinese national admitted in federal court Thursday that he stole a trade secret when he worked for Monsanto and one of its subsidiaries in Missouri, federal prosecutors said.

Haitao Xiang, 44, formerly of Chesterfield, Missouri, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit economic espionage. He was indicted by a grand jury on eight charges in 2019.

Prosecutors said in a news release that Xiang transferred a trade secret to a memory card and then attempted to take it to China for the benefit of the Chinese government.

Xiang worked as an imaging scientist for Monsanto and one of its subsidiaries, The Climate Corporation, from 2008 to 2017.

Court records say Monsanto and The Climate Corporation developed a digital online farming software platform to help farmers collect field data to increase productivity.

Part of the platform was an algorithm called the Nutrient Optimizer, which the companies considered a trade secret and their intellectual property, prosecutors said.

NYPD commissioner blasts Manhattan DA's lenient agenda in letter to NYPD officers
[NYPOST] NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell sent an e-mail to cops on Friday saying she’s "concerned" for their safety in light of the progressive policies announced this week by the new Manhattan district attorney that some see as soft on crime.

"I have studied these policies and I am very concerned about the implications to your safety as coppers, the safety of the public and justice for the victims," Sewell wrote in the email obtained by The Post.

"I am making my concerns known to the Manhattan District Attorney and hope to have frank and productive discussions to try and reach more common ground."

District Attorney Alvin Bragg, in his first memo issued Monday, instructed his staff to stop prosecuting many low-level offenses, to seek reduced charges for certain crimes and not to ask for bail except in the most serious cases.

Sewell, who also recently started in her role after being appointed by new Mayor Eric Adams
...retired New York City police captain, member of the New York State Senate, first Black Brooklyn borough president, law and order Dem after a brief fling with the Publicans. The New York Times isn't fond of him, suspecting he may not actually be black...
, said the progressive approach will erode quality of life in the city, and sends a message to coppers that they are not protected.

Her message diverges from that of Adams, who has stood by Bragg amid outrage over his approach.

Asked on Wednesday about the DA’s policy not to go after smaller offenses, Adams told news hounds: "I know DA Bragg. I respect him, he’s a great prosecutor."

In her email to all uniformed members of the department, Sewell said she had already raised some issues with Bragg, including his refusal to prosecute resisting arrest charges unless they are part of a larger, felony case.

That decision "will invite violence against coppers and will have deleterious effects on our relationship with the communities we protect," Sewell wrote.

The top cop also raised concerns about the new policies downgrading felonies to misdemeanors in certain cases.

For instance, Bragg’s memo states that suspects initially charged with armed robbery of a store would get hit with petit larceny instead, misdemeanor, provided no victims were seriously injured and there was no "genuine risk of physical harm." The DA’s Office clarified on Wednesday that it would still prosecute armed robberies involving a gun as a felony.

Sewell said that classifying gunpoint robberies in businesses as misdemeanors instead of felonies endangers cops and is bad for business owners, who are reeling from increased theft.

Iraq
Armed group uses live bullets against demonstrators who prevented holding a Soleimani's memorial in Wasit
[SHAFAQ] A force affiliated with the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq movement stormed a square downtown the city of al-Kout in Wasit after a group of demonstrators attempted to prevent the movement proponents of organizing a commemoration of Qassem Soleimani
, the commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Quds force, and the deputy commander of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

The commemoration ceremonials were scheduled to take place in the same square the demonstrators gathered in.

Eyewitnesses told Shafaq News Agency that the armed force deployed live bullets to disperse the demonstrators who torched tires on the roads and inside the square.
Rudaw adds:
According to the security source, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, some "150 to 200 demonstrators" stormed the ceremony in the Iraqi city of Kut, some 160 kilometres (100 miles) southeast of Baghdad.

The protesters tried to "prevent" the commemoration, moving in just before it was due to begin and tearing down portraits of Soleimani and Muhandis, he said.

"Members of an armed faction opened fire and maimed two demonstrators," the source said, without giving further details.

Sajjad Salem, an independent member of parliament linked to an anti-government protest movement that began in October 2019, posted a video on Facebook showing gunnies in a square, with gunshots ringing out.

Salem said the video showed shots being fired by members of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq force, a key component of the Hashed.

The commemoration was suspended and security forces have deployed heavily though Kut, an AFP news hound said.

Detractors of the Hashed accuse it of acting on behalf of Iran, which wields considerable cross-border influence in Iraq, and accuse it of crushing the protests that began in 2019.

secretary-general’s aide Hussein Khalil as well as between ex-minister Ali Hassan Khalil and PM Najib Miqati in a bid to reach a solution for the government paralysis crisis, ad-Diyar newspaper reported on Saturday.Ministerial sources told the daily that a consensual "format" is being mulled behind the scenes.

The so-called format would not be depicted as a defeat for the Shiite Duo nor it would prevent the state budget’s approval, the sources added.

This exit calls for holding a Cabinet session to pass the draft state budget with Finance Minister Youssef Khalil as the only representative of the Shiite Duo, the sources said, noting that the session would exclusively tackle the state budget.

Al-Joumhouria newspaper meanwhile reported that the past few days witnessed intensive contacts aimed at reaching a so-called governmental-judicial solution for the crisis.

"Top judicial officials promised senior governmental officials that the Court of Cassation’s general commission would approve separating the jurisdiction of the investigative judge (into the port blast case Tarek Bitar) from that of the Higher Council for the Trial of Presidents and Ministers, based on a similar precedent in this regard related to the Bourj Hammoud waste incinerator," the daily said.

Optimism, however, "totally faded after the governmental officials noticed an evasion of the made promises and a deliberate attempt to block this exit," al-Joumhouria said, noting that the top judicial officials started coming up with excuses related to Covid-19 infections.

Sources close to Prime Minister Najib Miqati meanwhile stressed that that "the atmosphere is positive" as to holding a Cabinet session aimed at passing the state budget, revealing that the call for the session is expected to be made in the beginning of next week.

Armenian forces fire on Azerbaijani positions near border
[NATION.PK] Armenian forces fired on Azerbaijani army positions across the border on Saturday, Baku announced.

The Armenian troops stationed in the Yukhari Shorja area fired automatic grenade launchers and large-caliber weapons at about 1.50 p.m. local time (0950GMT) in the direction of the Kalbajar region on the Azerbaijani side, said a statement by Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry.

"As a result of the retaliatory actions undertaken by the Azerbaijan Army Units, the opposing side was suppressed," the ministry said, reporting no losses of personnel or military equipment.

"Currently, the situation in this direction is stable, the Azerbaijan Army Units control the operational situation," it added.

Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have been tense since 1991, when the Armenian military occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as Upper Karabakh, a territory internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, and seven adjacent regions.

Clashes erupted in September 2020, and during the six-week war, Azerbaijan liberated several cities and nearly 300 settlements and villages.

The 44-day conflict ended in November 2020 in a Russia-brokered deal that saw Armenia cede swathes of territory it had occupied for nearly three decades.

Rozhin: Briefly about Kazakhstan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] 1. Former head of the KNB Massimov was detained in the case of high treason. De facto, this already finally legitimizes the existing belief that the whole reason was the dismantling of the Kazakh clans and their struggle for power, in which Tokayev is now winning. In addition to Masimov, other unnamed high-ranking officials are reported to have been arrested.

2. Nazarbayev's press secretary said that he had not left Kazakhstan yet. It was also stated that Nazarbayev had held telephone conversations with the leaders of the CIS countries and that he called on everyone to "rally around Tokayev." It looks like an admission of defeat and the establishment of autocracy in Kazakhstan. But here it is better to wait for the video statements of Nazarbayev himself - so far they are being made on his behalf.

3. The suppression of the hotbeds of armed uprisings continues in the country, and it is too early to talk about full control over the situation. Nevertheless, in a number of cities they are already really putting things in order and began to eliminate the consequences. Plus, the funeral of the victims of the bloody events began. Today it became known that an Israeli citizen, as well as a young child, was killed in the same Alma-Ata.

4. The country continues to experience interruptions to the Internet and communications. The access control regime is gradually being built on the roads, which is already yielding certain results. While the peacekeepers take control of strategic objects, the authorities accumulate loyal troops and police units and send them to problem areas.

In general, it can be assumed that the events after the introduction of the CSTO troops and the arrests of officials involved in organizing the protests and riots, are embarking on a path leading to the stabilization of Kazakhstan, which will now be solely ruled by Tokayev. without looking back at the elbasy.

Kazakhstan. 01/08/2022 Evening

[ColonelCassad] The main for the evening in Kazakhstan.

1. The cleansing process in Kazakhstan is still ongoing, with videos and reports of ongoing gunfights between the military and police with armed militants. The Russian Foreign Ministry confirms information about dozens of killed militants. In Alma-Ata, they continue to collect the corpses of people killed on January 5-6 (among the dead there are 2 or 3 children). There are no Russian citizens among the victims. Life in a number of districts of the city is gradually returning to normal and the worst for Alma-Ata is most likely over. Of course. these events will remain in the memory of the townspeople for many years. Such a "black January", which seemed to bode nothing.

2. The normalization of transport links is gradually underway, including the resumption of the work of the airports of Kazakhstan. The airport in Almaty is promised to resume work on January 10. The Russian Federation provides assistance to citizens wishing to leave Kazakhstan and who had difficulties with departure during the events of January 5-7. Interruptions in the Internet and communication continue, which causes problems with the operation of electronic banking and the inability to use plastic cards. Shops in Almaty, which have already opened, work for cash. It is also worth noting that it was the Chinese specialists who helped the Kazakh authorities to block the Internet. The Chinese are now great masters in this area.

3. In the leadership of Kazakhstan, behind-the-scenes negotiations and resignations continue. Apparently, now there is a bargaining on the final terms of the honorable surrender of the Nazarbayev clan, which will save the face of Nazarbayev himself and save his family from criminal prosecution. The subject of bargaining is the future place of the Nazarbayev clan in the system of power and property of Kazakhstan. Of course, you can forget about the times when Tokayev was subordinate to Nazarbayev.

Now he is the sovereign ruler. But it is quite understandable that if we go to a complete clean-up of the Nazarbayev clan, this will increase the risk of an escalation of the conflict within the country. Therefore, such a fog around the main culprits of what happened. As soon as the parties agree on all the conditions, a list of the main culprits / scapegoats will be made public, including some members of the Nazarbayev clan. And they may not be. In any case, for objective reasons Tokayev will be much closer to Moscow and Beijing than Nazarbayev. And a little further from Ankara, Washington and Brussels, which upsets many in the west.

Judging by social networks, the Turks are most upset, who are already beginning to accuse Erdogan of not being too active in the Kazakhstani crisis and ultimately allowing Moscow to outplay himself. But, I believe, due to the economic influence of Turkey in Kazakhstan, Erdogan will remain in the game, even if his opportunities there will be reduced. that he was not very active in the Kazakh crisis and, as a result, allowed Moscow to outplay himself. But, I believe, due to the economic influence of Turkey in Kazakhstan, Erdogan will remain in the game, even if his opportunities there will be reduced. that he was not very active in the Kazakh crisis and, as a result, allowed Moscow to outplay himself. But, I believe, due to the economic influence of Turkey in Kazakhstan, Erdogan will remain in the game, even if his opportunities there will be reduced.

4. The authorities of Kazakhstan confirm the January decision to abandon the increase in gas prices from 60 to 120 tenge, and also preserve the state regulation of gas prices. In addition, until July 1, a moratorium is introduced on any increase in utility tariffs for the population. Taking into account the resignation of the government, which was associated with a conspiracy of gas workers that led to an increase in gas prices, in fact, all the initial demands of the protesters against the increase in gas prices were met. The plans of those forces that planned to use these justified protests of the citizens of Kazakhstan for their own selfish purposes have failed.

But I am sure that the citizens of Kazakhstan will be interested to know the names of the direct perpetrators of both the price increase and those who planned to use the protests in the internal political struggle, which led to the bloody events in Almaty.

5. The CSTO contingent has already got involved in the routine work of ensuring security and will complete its full deployment in the next 2-3 days. There are no clashes or conflicts, it is a purely security mission. The Kazakh authorities assure that as soon as the situation in the country stabilizes (according to various estimates, it will take another 2-3 weeks), the contingent may begin to prepare for the withdrawal (previously the figure of 1 month for the operation was called).

In principle, the task of the CSTO to show the ability to quickly transfer troops to the attacked country has already been completed, now the task is to show the effective work of the contingent and complete the operation beautifully, so that later it can be referred to as an example of the effective and active use of the CSTO troops, which of course will destroy the myth that ... that the CSTO is a paper structure incapable of anything.

This operation certainly surprised and upset many, since such agility was clearly not expected from the CSTO. Pashinyan, as the formal political leader of the operation on behalf of the CSTO, looks ridiculous, of course, but quite in the spirit of modern postmodernism, it is clear that the operation is being led from Moscow.

Why are Caucasians Vanishing in TV Commercials?
[American Thinker] First it was responsible manly smart men...
Commercials take up 27% of commercial television screen time and are the main source of income for TV and radio stations. In most cases, advertisements on all channels appear simultaneously, so don't try to change the channel, there will be commercials elsewhere, too. Nowadays they have also taken over the Internet. For a financial support, websites have to run ads on their pages, the largest share supplied and controlled by Google. Ads pry into your eyes, unceremoniously interfere with text, and on YouTube, in the most inappropriate places they cut into the action of films, lectures and concerts, tearing apart musical performances. There's no escaping commercials, we've grown accustomed to them, and they become almost as much a part of our lives as food, toilets, and sleep.

In the United States today, the White population (not including Hispanics) is 57.8%. In real life Caucasians are still in the majority, but now on TV and the Internet they are swept under the rug like trash. Blacks compose 14% of the U.S. population but appear in 50% of commercials. White actors now appear for promotion of health insurance, gold, loans and some medicines. Moreover, if a White person appears in a commercial, he/she is usually old, sick, a freak, or at the very least, an appendage to a Black partner. If there's a doctor on the screen, he's usually Black, while the patient is usually White. Caucasian young men appear in only 4% of the commercials! If some aliens began to study the population of Planet Earth through our TV commercials they would have a somewhat distorted picture of Americans, to put it mildly.

#13  We're developing two cultures. One is for normal people who want to see a dramatic or comedic treatment of life's struggles, and aspirations.

The other is the 'official' culture of corporate consumer advertising + NFLX/Hollywood, Broadway and the Pravda-media: this increasingly resembles the Bolsheviks' surrogate reality," per historian Richard Pipes. From ch. 6 of Russia Under the Bolshevik Regime, "Culture as Propaganda," p. 283:

"Propaganda was not a Bolshevik invention of course. The novelty of what the Bolsheviks did lay in the centrality of propaganda in Soviet life: previously used to touch up or to distort reality, in communist Russia became a surrogate reality.

"Communist propaganda strove, and to a surprising extent succeeded, in creating a fictitious world side by side with that of every day experience and in stark contradiction to it, which Soviet citizens were required to pretend to believe."

It's not just commercials, literary characters and historical figures have their ethnicity et al changed in the visual representation. Really woke commercials/entertainment will have NO blondes. None of this is targeted at anyone over say 18 probably, as they have codified their reality. This is for kids and teens to casually but repeatedly be exposed to it and it becomes reality.

Dems terrified of 'Tucker Carlson primary' after Ted Cruz smackdown makes him new king of 2024
[BIZPACREVIEW] Tucker Carlson’s resounding smackdown of Senator Ted Cruz;
...US Senator from Texas. Republican contender for president in 2016, his stiff and abrasive manner earned him the title most hated man in the Senate. After a close win over Beto O'Rourke, who tried to out-Lastino him, he grew a beard and let his biting wit shine through. Cruz's comments have been known to leave life-threatening wounds at better than forty feet...
for parroting Democrat talking points about the so-called "insurrection" has stirred up the party’s media mouthpieces who are piling on the Texas Republican who was put on the spot by the Fox News ratings king for his flippant remark that Trump supporters were terrorists. On Thursday, Carlson hosted Cruz and raked him over the coals for the misleading characterization that was also used by AG Merrick Garland
...Attorney General of the U.S., who classifies indignant parents as domestic terrorists. The is the respected legal scholar Obama nominated for the Supreme Court...
, remarks that the senator admitted were "dumb" while walking them back in an interview that has leftists jittery over the influence that Tucker will have on GOP candidates as the all-important midterm elections draw nearer.

One talking head who wasn’t pleased about Cruz’s straying from the narrative that the chaos at the Capitol was a legitimate threat to overthrow the entire U.S. government was CNN
...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for...
’s Brian Stelter who bemoaned Carlson’s clout with the Republican base and what he fears will be a "Tucker Carlson primary" this year and in 2024.

During a "CNN Newsroom" segment with co-host Victor Blackwell, Stelter said, "Cruz folded like a paper airplane. I think what it shows is the Republican messaging about being tough on crime, which is something that’s gone back decades, that Cruz was trying to lean into, has come up against this denial of the Jan. 6 crime," putting a devious spin on the GOP’s anti-crime message.

"So, you have Tucker Carlson try to take a position that what we saw with our own eyes didn’t really happen, or not that many coppers were maimed," he continued, "even though some of the officers that were attacked that day still can’t get back to work because the injuries were so severe. But Carlson’s in such profound denial about that, Victor, that he has to put on this performance and Cruz absolutely begged for forgiveness."

He added, "About a year ago, media news hounds like yours truly started to say Tucker Carlson is the new Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
, and I’ve never seen a bit of proof that’s better than this. This is the ultimate example of Tucker Carlson’s power, he essentially now runs the GOP media and as we think about the midterms and 2024, there is going to be a Tucker Carlson primary and you just saw what it’s going to be like. It’s going to be this kind of obsession with sticking to the party orthodoxy and denying the reality of the riot."

Procter & Gamble trains their people to write their famous one page memos starting with a single sentence labeled Conclusion, followed by a short paragraph for Background, another two paragraphs or so for Data, and a final sentence or two under Next Steps. New hires spend a good part of their first six months rewriting to master the style and cut out all verbosity to meet the single page limit, part of the reason P&G only hires at the entry level.

Challenging, but it brutally forces clarification of thought as well as respect for the time of others.

Eleven Colombian police wounded in explosives attack on truck
[AlAhram] At least 11 Colombian coppers were maimed in an attack against their truck using explosives in the southwestern city of Cali, President Ivan Duque said Saturday.

At least 11 Colombian coppers were maimed in an attack against their truck using explosives in the southwestern city of Cali, President Ivan Duque said Saturday.

The truck was badly damaged in the blast. No civilians were reported injured.

"We condemn the cowardly terrorist attack against members of the Mobile Anti-Riot Squad," in the city's Puerto Rellena area, Duque said on Twitter.

"We sympathize with the 11 uniformed officers maimed in the attack, 3 of them seriously," added the conservative president, who did not give details about the alleged perpetrator.

Cali's security undersecretary Jimmy Dranguet told AFP it was an attack "with explosives."

With 2.2 million inhabitants, Cali is the third-largest city in Colombia and one of the most violent mostly peaceful in Latin America.

It is in one of the biggest coca cultivation areas in Colombia, the world's largest cocaine producer.

Colombia is officially at peace after signing a pact with the FARC guerrilla group in 2016 to end more than a half-century of armed conflict.

But it has seen a flare-up of violence in recent months due to fighting over territory and resources by dissident guerrillas, the ELN rebel group, paramilitary forces and narco mobs.

New Year Celebration By Nigerian Christians Unjust To Muslims --MURIC
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The Moslem Rights Concern has urged the Nigerian Government to declare the first of Muharram Hijrah, which is the first day in the Islamic calendar, as a public holiday to favour Moslems.

MURIC Director, Prof Ishaq Akintola, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

According to Akintola, the New Year celebrations according to the Gregorian calendar was "unfair, unjust and undemocratic" to Moslems in Nigeria.

He stated that if the Nigerian Government failed to properly recognise the first day of the Moslem calendar as it has recognised the Christian calendar, it should stop declaring New Year holidays.

Akintola said, "As usual, the Federal Government declared January 1, 2022, a public holiday in recognition of the first day of the Christian Gregorian calendar but because the day fell on a Saturday, FG created an alternative by declaring the following Monday a public holiday.

"This is an aberration and a gross injustice because Nigerian Moslems have been demanding the declaration of the first day of the Islamic calendar as a holiday for more than 20 years to no avail.

"It simply means that FG under President Muhammadu Buhari is also supporting the Christianisation of Nigeria. It considers the first day of the Christian calendar as sacred while the first day of the Islamic calendar is regarded as unimportant.

"MURIC frowns at this lopsided arrangement. It is unfair, unjust and undemocratic. We demand an immediate review of FG’s holiday policy.

"We demand the declaration of the first day of the Islamic calendar as a holiday to justify the 1st January holiday that is declared annually by FG. January 1 holiday is a Christian colonial creation designed to dignify and rubber-cushion the pomp and pageantry of Christmas. In the interest of peace, FG should review this Christian colonial heritage.

"Nigeria became independent 62 years ago and 62 years is long enough to right wrongs perpetrated by the British slavemasters. Democracy is fraudulent without equal participation, equal rights and justice.

"We demand parity now and only the recognition of the first day of the Islamic new year can balance the equilibrium and ensure parity, justice and fair play.

"Holidays are part of the dividends of democracy. However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
the dividends must not be dished out in a selective manner."

Europe
Sweden and France launch joint team to prosecute IS fighters over crimes against Yazidis
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Sweden and La Belle France have launched a joint team to investigate crimes against humanity and war crimes carried out by imported muscle from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) group against the Yazidi minority.

The two countries' ongoing investigations are coordinated by the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust). The new task force aims to streamline their efforts and enable information and evidence to be shared more swiftly.

"The main aim of the JIT will be to identify FTFs [foreign terrorist fighters] who were involved in core international crimes, such as genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, primarily perpetrated against members of the Yazidi minority during the armed conflict in Syria and Iraq," read a statement released by Eurojust on Friday.

The new team will reduce the need for multiple interviews of the same victims who have experienced traumatic events at the hands of IS.

The Yazidis are an ethnic group whose ancestral homeland stretches through northern Iraq and parts of Syria.

The minority group were specifically targeted and oppressed by IS when the gang invaded Iraq's Sinjar region.

Girls were forced into slavery and human trafficking rings, boys were forced to fight for the group, while men were executed if they didn't convert to Islam - or often executed in any case.

In May 2021 a UN investigations team ruled, "there is clear and convincing evidence that the crimes" perpetrated by IS "against the Yazidi people clearly constituted genocide".

The plight of the Yazidis has garnered international attention, but nearly seven years after IS launched its assault on the Sinjar Valley they continue to face difficulties in the region. Up to 200,000 Yazidis are still displaced with a majority living in camps for internally displaced persons in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Eurojust said the establishment of a joint French and Swedish team would be of "added value" to other EU member states or third countries, "who want to end the impunity of FTFs involved in core international crimes such as slavery or sexual violence against members of the Yazidi community".

In a Germany, a landmark case was held in November in which an Iraqi man was sentenced to life in prison - becoming the first member of IS to be convicted of genocide against the Yazidis.

faceless myrmidons on Friday targeted members of the Somali National Army [SNA] in central Somalia, in an attack that comes amid ongoing political instability in the Horn of Africa nation.

Officials said at least two members of SNA's Danab brigade were killed and nine others maimed after a kaboom targeted a military convoy in Dhusumareb, the regional administrative capital of Galmadug state.

A top military general told news hounds that the military convoy was hit by a landmine while traveling between the town of Guriel and Dhusamareb. The two towns have been a center of focus for al-Shabaab on the last several occasions.

"The military convoy belonged to Danab commandos, and we understand the attack was an improvised bomb [IED] planted near the road, killing soldiers," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

Mohammed Deeq Abdi, a local journalist, told Anadolu Agency that nine maimed soldiers were admitted to a hospital in Dhusamareb. Of the maimed soldiers, reports indicate, four sustained serious injuries.

In their proxy media outlets, the al-Qaeda linked group, al-Shabaab, claimed the attack leftover 15 soldiers dead. However,

the reports could not be independently verified by Garowe Online.

Elsewhere, on Friday, Galmudug

regional soldiers repulsed an al-Shabaab attack on the town of Bahdo in the same region. Somali national TV reported that 17 bad boyz were potted in the retaliatory attack, citing military commanders as saying.

Further, the Somali National Army on Friday also announced killing at least five al-Shabaab faceless myrmidons in the Middle Shabelle region. The operation was executed by the Special Forces from Danab unit, who are trained by the US Africa Command.

"Gambole is one of al-Shabaab's strongholds in the Middle Shabelle region. A heavy shootout erupted during the operation, but our commandos killed many al-Shabaab terrorists, including five senior commanders," a military official said.

Col. Ahmed Abdullahi Nur, commander of the 16th Danab Commandos, also confirmed the operation and the killing of al-Shabaab operatives.

Nur said operations against the terrorist group, which has been fighting against the Somali government and African Union

Austin [TX] sees hundreds of sex offender cases removed from police officer supervision due to defunding
[FoxNews] Hundreds of convicted sex offenders are no longer being monitored by sworn police officers in Austin, Texas due to the city’s move to defund the police and cut police academy classes.

As of 2019, there were about 1,600 registered sex offenders in Austin according to the state's sex offender database. There is no law preventing any of them from living near schools or other places where children tend to congregate, according to a local news report. About 650 of those cases were handled by officers who checked in on the registered sex offenders weekly to ensure they were where they reported themselves to be. But three of those officers were sent back to patrol as a result of the decision to defund the police, including slashing three cadet classes at the police academy, in August 2020. Defunding the police forced the department to cut the Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit (SOAR).

Those cases once handled by sworn police officers are now being monitored by civilian employees, including two who only work part-time. The civilian monitors lack arrest authority and some question whether they are able to keep up with the increased caseload.

An Austin Police Department spokesperson confirmed to Fox News that three police officers who were tasked with monitoring sex offenders were assigned to patrol due to budget cuts and that civilians were assigned those cases.

"The lack of cadet classes at APD over the last couple of years has contributed to an officer staffing shortage," APD told Fox News. "In order to prioritize the Department’s ability to respond to 911 phone calls and keep the community safe, APD has had to reallocate some personnel from our support units back to patrol. The Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit (SOAR) is one of the units affected by these staffing challenges and lost 3 officers who were re-assigned to patrol in the process. These officers’ duties and tasks while assigned to SOAR were to perform sex offender compliance checks, and to track down and arrest those with outstanding warrants. With the absence of these officers in the SOAR unit to assist with these tasks, the unit has limited capacity to perform these functions. There are currently 1 sergeant, 3 detectives, 1 full time civilian, and 2 part time civilians who now work in this unit."

Mayor Steve Adler and Council Member Greg Casar, both Democrats, championed the vote to slash the police department's funding in August 2020. Casar is now running for Congress.

A current member of the Austin City Council told Fox News that the civilian employees are not able to monitor and apprehend sex offenders the same way that police officers are.

"I spoke recently with two women who are contractors that oversee putting ankle monitors on violent offenders," Austin City Councilwoman Mackenzie Kelly told Fox News. "It surprised me to learn that these violent offenders often remove the monitors and dump them in trash bins. There are no officers going out to check on the whereabouts of these violent offenders and it appalls me. At a very minimum the city is responsible for public safety and we are doing an injustice to victims of violent crimes by not staffing this unit."

Kelly won her seat on the city council in the wake of the vote to defund APD.

Ethiopia's PM Abiy Ahmed releases high-profile political prisoners
[Garowe] A few days after calling for national reconciliation, Æthiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has ordered the release of his fierce critics, most of them from his Oromia backyard, who questioned the liquidation of popular musician Hachalu Hundesa.

The members of the Oromo Federalist Congress [OFC] were arrested after staging protests over Hundesa's liquidation. Protests locked Addis Ababa, the capital of Æthiopia, leading to the crackdown.

Some of those arrested included media entrepreneur Jawar Mohammad, Bekele Gerba, Dejene Tafa, Hamza Borana, and many others who were arrested from the premises of Oromia Cultural Center in Addis Abeba on June 30, 2020, a day after the killing of Hachalu Hundessa.

Although some were released eventually, a total of 35 people, including the children of Bekele Gerba were arrested on that day. The government has remained mum over the arrest until Friday when the government opted to release them.

Before their release, they were subjected to a pre-trial hearing as the prosecutor established charges against 20 defendants in Jawar Mohammed’s file in September 2020. The charges include ten counts in violation of Proclamation No. 1176 /2012 on Terrorism Prevention and Control; Telecom Fraud Proclamation No. 761/2004 and the Arms Management and Control Proclamation No. 1177/2012, The Addis Ababa Standard reports.

The trial of the defendants on Jawar Mohammed’s file was one of the most highly anticipated hearings featuring symbolic resistances by supporters, arrests, and attacks on families, massive social media campaigns, refusal to appear by the defendants.

In February last year, protests broke out in different parts of Oromia regional state. Protestors who erupted into the streets in Ambo and other places raised several demands, including the release of Oromo politicians, a resident of the city told Addis standard then.

Many students were arrested and beaten by police according to eyewitnesses. In January 2020 the defendants refused to proceed with the hearing protesting with hunger strike the arrest of about 80 of their supporters from the premises of Federal High Court, Lideta branch.

On February 05, Æthiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Chief Commissioner Daniel Bekele said that "very close supervision is required to prevent any grave threat to their health and life and that reasonably justified demands of the prisoners must be addressed."

He added that "during visits to prisons or attending court hearings visitors must be treated properly." Samantha Power, USAID administrator, and representative Ilhan Omar
...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She was apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side...
also voiced their concerns over the deteriorating health conditions of the prisoners, who were on hunger strike and their treatment by the government.

The release of the defendants on Jawar Mohammed’s file comes at the heels of the release of Eskinder Nega, founder of the opposition Balderas for Genuine Democracy, and the defendants on his file who were facing terrorism charges, and Five out of 20 senior TDF leaders who were accused of organizing an illegal group to overthrow the constitutional order.

In his Christmas [Gena] message, Abiy Ahmed insisted on national reconciliation as the country battles with a series of internal crises. The Tigray conflict has eroded confidence in the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize winner.

"It will enable us to maintain our unity, it’s a given that Æthiopia will benefit from reconciliation," the PM’s message read. In a separate message, the Prime Minister said that pledged to bring about transitional justice to hold those who committed crimes accountable.

Is The Omicron Variant Manmade?
[AndMagazine] The first cases of Omicron were detected in Botswana. In announcing the discovery of the new strain, the Botswanan Ministry of Health and Wellness revealed that Omicron "was detected on four foreign nationals who had entered Botswana on the 7th of November 2021, on a diplomatic mission. The quartet tested positive for COVID-19 on the 11th of November 2021 as they were preparing to return." These four diplomats became patients zero, one, two, and three to be infected with Omicron. Botswana has not revealed the nationality of the diplomats in question.

Botswana’s announcement suggests that a small team of individuals from an unknown nation outside Africa flew in and flew out of Botswana over a period of only a few days and stayed just long enough to spread the virus to the local population. Where did they come from? How did they get infected?

#8  If I were a villainous group/nation creating a virus to take down my enemies I would also make a virus that would be milder but spread quicker that I could unleash after my first one had done its damage to sort of restore things somewhat so that someone was around for me to sell things to or rule over in the aftermath.

#13  Good luck NN2NI.

The bat lady is a spike specialist. Omicron has an unusual number of spike mutations. I wonder if the density of spike mutations is matched by mutations elsewhere in the RNA, or if it's another graft job.

Biden administration guidance prioritizes race in administering COVID drugs
[FoxNews] New York and Minnesota among states prioritizing race in COVID treatment distribution.

Guidance issued by the Biden administration states certain individuals may be considered "high risk" and more quickly qualify for monoclonal antibodies and oral antivirals used to treat COVID-19 based on their "race or ethnicity."

In a fact sheet issued for healthcare providers by the Food and Drug Administration, the federal agency approved emergency use authorizations of sotrovimab – a monoclonal antibody proven to be effective against the Omicron variant – only to patients considered "high risk."

The guidance, updated in December 2021, says "medical conditions or factors" such as "race or ethnicity" have the potential to "place individual patients at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19," adding that the "authorization of sotrovimab under the EUA is not limited to" other factors outlined by the agency.

Older age, obesity, pregnancy, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are among the multiple medical conditions and factors associated with what are considered "high risk" individuals by the FDA.

Some states, including New York and Utah, have made it clear they will prioritize certain racial minorities over other high-risk patients when it comes to the distribution of particular COVID treatments.

Joe Manchin pulls his $1.8 trillion spending compromise off the table: report
[NYPost] My 2 cents: this could be a stopping point in the Donk Crazy Descent in America. It "appears" that pressuring Manchin and Sinema in crazeee contemptuous terms/actions may not have worked so well?
It does, indeed. But if so, to what will they turn their malign attention next?

As Georgia ballot harvesting probe starts, some election evidence has vanished already
[Just the News] Since 1960, federal civil rights law has required state and local election officials to "retain and preserve" records relating to elections involving federal officeholders for 22 months after ballots are cast.

That would seem to be a good thing as Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger embarks on an investigation into whether third-party liberal activists in 2020 illegally gathered and delivered absentee ballots for voters — a practice known as harvesting that is outlawed in the Peach State.

But some of Georgia's largest counties tell Just the News that they no longer possess evidence that could be helpful to probing the harvesting allegations: video camera surveillance footage that monitored the drop boxes installed around Georgia to help voters cast ballots during the pandemic.

Election officials in several counties say the reason they discarded the footage is that the emergency rules issued by the State Elections Board said they only needed to keep the footage for 30 days after the election.

"We took direction from the Secretary of State and State Election Board, assuming they were not implementing a Rule contrary to law," said the Cobb County elections office, which acknowledged it deleted its video footage from 2020. "Drop boxes were established under an emergency order from the Governor."

Fulton County, home to Atlanta and the state's largest voting metropolis, said it too has long since deleted the files.
