Report: Netanyahu gifted Trump a golden pager; US president: ‘That was a great operation’
[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly gifted US President Donald Trump with a golden pager and a regular one, a reference to the clandestine operation that decimated the Hezbollah terror group.

“That was a great operation,” Trump responded, according to Channel 12 news.

In return, Trump gave Netanyahu a photo of the two of them from the visit, with the dedication “To Bibi, a great leader.”

In September, thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah operatives across Lebanon suddenly exploded, killing and injuring dozens. A day later, hundreds of walkie-talkies also blew up, killing and injuring scores more.

The attacks, swiftly attributed to Israel, came as Israel stepped up a counteroffensive against the Iran-backed Hezbollah, which began striking Israel almost immediately after the allied Palestinian terror group Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack.

Trump and Netanyahu have a lot in common. Bibi is responsible for the Lamest Genocide Ever, and Donald is implementing a fascist takeover by reducing the power and scope of the feral government. They should both get the Nobel Prize for something. But not the Peace one, that has been tainted by previous recipients.

Report: Jared Kushner behind Trump’s plan to take over Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Former White House senior adviser Jared Kushner was reportedly behind his father-in-law US President Donald Trump’s plan, announced yesterday, for the US to take over Gaza and clear it of Palestinians.

Kushner was involved in crafting Trump’s prepared remarks that he made alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Puck news reports, citing an anonymous source familiar with the matter.

Netanyahu had not requested that Trump pursue such a plan ahead of time, Puck adds.

Kushner appeared to hint at the entire idea in a speech he gave last year.

“Gaza’s waterfront property — it could be very valuable, if people would focus on building up livelihoods,” Kushner said during an event at Harvard.

“It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but I think from Israel’s perspective, I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,” Kushner added. “But I don’t think that Israel has stated that they don’t want the people to move back there afterward.”

Israeli man accused of West Bank checkpoint ramming that injured guard
[israelTimes] A 54-year-old Israeli from Taybeh is accused of a ramming attack at a West Bank checkpoint two weeks ago that injured a guard there, police and the Shin Bet say.

Jawad Azzam is to be indicted in the coming days.

Officials say on January 16 Azzam veered from his lane at the checkpoint near Qalqilya and hit the guard as he crossed another lane, before crashing into a pole. The guard was moderately hurt.

Investigators ruled out the possibility that a technical malfunction led to the crash, the statement says.

US national security adviser says allies encouraged to suggest own solutions to Gaza
[IsraelTimes] US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz suggests that President Donald Trump’s plan to take over Gaza need not be the final word on the matter and that allies are encouraged to provide their own alternatives to rebuilding Gaza.

“Everybody’s heart breaks for the Palestinian people across the region, and rightly so, but [Trump is] not seeing any realistic solutions on how those miles and miles and miles of debris are going to be cleared, how those unexploded bombs are going to be removed, how these people are physically going to live [there] for at least a decade, if not longer that it’s going to take to do this [reconstruction],” Waltz says during an interview with CBS News.

“The fact that nobody has a realistic solution, and he puts some very bold, fresh, new ideas out on the table, I don’t think should be criticized in any way. It’s going to bring the entire region to come up with their own solutions if they don’t like Mr. Trump’s solution,” he adds.

Asked whether it matters if the Palestinians might oppose Trump’s plan to remove them from Gaza, Waltz responds, “Of course it does.”

“But one of the key points President Trump made last night was, ‘Tell me what real better alternatives they’ve ever been offered?'”

He argues that what Trump is offering is far more enticing for Palestinians than their current situation in Gaza.

Palestinians report 4 killed in Rafah; IDF says suspects were ‘imminent threat’ to troops
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says troops fired warning shots to disperse suspects approaching forces in several areas of the Gaza Strip today.

In one incident, the military says several suspects were just a few dozen meters from troops and were identified as an “imminent threat.” The soldiers opened fire on the suspects.

Palestinian media report that four were killed by Israeli fire in the Rafah area.

The IDF says it is “determined to fully maintain the terms of the agreement in order to return the hostages,” and is “prepared for any scenario and will continue to take any necessary actions to thwart any immediate threat to IDF soldiers.

“The IDF calls the residents of Gaza to follow its instructions and avoid approaching the troops deployed in the area,” the military adds.

‘I thought we voted for America first’: Trump Gaza plan has US lawmakers skeptical
Not everyone is ready when the Overton Window moves.
[IsraelTimes] Skeptical US lawmakers say they still favor the two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians that has long been a foundation of US diplomacy. Some also reject the idea of spending US taxpayer dollars or sending in US troops to a region that has been devastated by more than a year of war.

“I thought we voted for America first,” Republican Senator Rand Paul says on X. “We have no business contemplating yet another occupation to doom our treasure and spill our soldiers blood.”

Republicans hold narrow majorities in Congress over Democrats, who reject the idea outright. “That is ethnic cleansing by another name,” Senator Chris Van Hollen says on MSNBC.

Republican Senator Jerry Moran says the idea of a two-state solution cannot just be thrown out. “It’s not something that can be unilaterally decided,” he tells reporters.

Senator Lisa Murkowski says she will not speculate about any possible proposal to send US forces into a region “that has seen enough turmoil.”

“I don’t even want to speculate on that question, because I think that is quite frightening,” she says.

Wait for it.
Trump 1st proposes something that drives the offending, or surrounding nations crazy. That places the USA at the head of the table and in control.

Then the offender(s) must beg and/or negotiate for the USA to give ground. The results being the offender(s) properly addressing the issue they have failed or avoided in doing.

#6  Gaza, not Palestine.

If you will allow me a stab or two...

Palestine has been an insolvable problem for decades.
Gaza is about what to do with the Gazans while the ruble is bulldozed and we negotiate on what to rebuild for the future.
In a nutshell, saying Gaza instead of Palestine reframes the problem and allows for discussions that otherwise could not take place.

It also opens the topic of why neighboring countries will not take in the Gazan refugees. Seems unneighborly, eh? Is there something fundamentally wrong with the Gazans?

Australia passes tough hate crime laws, with jail time for Nazi salutes, in bid to tackle antisemitism
[IsraelTimes] Australia passes tough anti-hate crime laws, including mandatory minimum sentences for terror offenses and displaying hate symbols, in a bid to tackle a recent surge in antisemitism.

The laws will impose minimum jail sentences between 12 months for less serious hate crimes, such as giving a Nazi salute in public, and six years for those found guilty of terrorism offenses.

“I want people who are engaged in antisemitism to be held to account, to be charged, to be incarcerated,” Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who had initially opposed mandatory minimum sentences for hate crimes, tells Sky News.

The government’s hate crimes bill was first introduced to parliament last year, creating new offenses for threatening force or violence against people based on their race, religion, nationality, national or ethnic origin, political opinion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex status.

Recent months have seen an escalation of attacks on synagogues, buildings and cars of Jewish community members across the country, including the discovery of a caravan laden with explosives with a list of Jewish targets in Sydney.

Albanese has been criticized by the center-right opposition party for being weak on crime and failing to address the rise in antisemitism.

The Liberal-National coalition began calling for mandatory minimum sentences to be added to the hate crimes bill last month.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke, who introduced the amendments enabling the provisions late on Wednesday, says the changes are the “toughest laws Australia has ever had against hate crimes.”

The state of New South Wales, where most of the antisemitic attacks have taken place, said on Wednesday it would also strengthen its hate speech laws to reflect those already in place in Western Australia and Victoria.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards transform ship into country’s first drone carrier
[IsraelTimes] Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have taken delivery of the country’s first ship capable of launching drones and helicopters at sea, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reports.

Amid military exercises lasting from early January to early March, Iran’s armed forces have unveiled new weaponry as Tehran braces for more friction with Israel and the United States under US President Donald Trump.

“The Revolutionary Guards took action to transform a commercial ship… into a mobile naval platform capable of carrying out drone and helicopter missions in the oceans,” says Navy Commander of the Revolutionary Guards Alireza Tangsiri.
"Or as a reef"
The Shahid Beheshti, a former container ship, is equipped with a 180-meter (590-ft) runway and can operate without refueling for up to one year, Tasnim said.

The ship is different from previous Revolutionary Guards warships because it can launch and retrieve larger drones such as the Qaher and Mohajer-6.

“The addition of this ship into our fleet is an important step in increasing the defense and deterrence capability of Iran in distant waters and in maintaining our national security interests,” Tangsiri adds.

Last month, Iran’s navy received its first signals intelligence ship.

Iran’s Khamenei names Hezbollah leader as his ‘representative’ in Lebanon
[IsraelTimes] Supreme leader’s announcement comes 5 months after Nasrallah assassinated in Israeli airstrike, replaced by current head Naim Qassem

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...>
has named Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem
... the Grand Vizier of the Hezbullies...
as his "representative" in Leb
...The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else?...
, Iranian media reported Wednesday.

"The leader of the revolution in a decree introduced Sheikh Naim Qassem, secretary general of Hezbollah, as his representative in Lebanon," Tasnim news agency said.

Tasnim carried a copy of the official decree, which said Qassem will represent Khamenei in handling "non-litigious matters" and "managing religious affairs" in Lebanon.

The news agency recalled that Qassem’s predecessor His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The late, lamented satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...>
— who was killed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on south Beirut in September 27 — had held the same title.

Hezbollah is part of the "axis of resistance," an alliance of Iran-backed gangs opposed to Israel and its US ally.

Khamenei, who has the final say in all matters of state in Iran, has representatives in all of Iran’s provinces with a mandate to collect religious funds and perform other duties.

Qassem was named Hezbollah leader in October after heir apparent Hashem Safieddine was killed in an Israeli strike shortly after Nasrallah’s death.

Hezbollah is to hold a public funeral for both Nasrallah and Safieddine on February 23. It had put off public commemorations for safety reasons until after a fragile ceasefire with Israel took hold on November 27.

Fifth Column
Protester who demanded ‘Zionists’ exit NYC subway gets 4 hours of community service
[IsraelTimes] Anti-Israel activist who drew widespread condemnation last year receives light sentence, prompting rebuke from leading Jewish security group

An anti-Israel activist arrested last year for demanding that "Zionists" identify themselves and leave a New York City subway car received a light sentence of four hours of community service on Wednesday, drawing a rebuke from a leading Jewish security group.
This followed an anti-Israel protest organized by Within Our Lifetime
Anas Saleh was arrested in June and charged with coercion in the third degree for the incident. A widely-circulated video showed him leading chants of "Raise your hand if you’re a Zionist" on a packed subway car.

"This is your chance to get out," he shouted. The call was repeated by other protesters on the train. Saleh and many of the other activists were wearing masks.

The footage drew widespread condemnation from public officials, including New York City Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
, who called the comments "reprehensible and vile."

Saleh was initially charged with attempted coercion, a misdemeanor, but a judge dismissed that charge.

In addition to the community service, Saleh will be required to take an anti-bias course, according to Jewish community members who attended Wednesday’s hearing.
Golly.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office said the sentencing had taken into account Saleh’s lack of a criminal history, conversations with a complainant, and Saleh’s completion of mandatory programming. He will do his community service at a Jewish congregation.

The Community Security Initiative, a group that coordinates security for Jewish communities in the New York area, commended the NYPD and district attorney’s office for their work on the case but criticized the sentencing.

"We are deeply concerned that New York’s current hate crime laws do not classify Mr. Saleh’s actions as a hate crime," CSI director Mitch Silber said. "We call on the New York State Legislature to update existing laws to accurately reflect the hate involved in such cases and ensure that perpetrators face appropriate consequences."

"We view with concern the penalty of ’community service,’" the statement said. "Accountability must be meaningful, and the justice system must continue to take threats, harassment, and exclusionary rhetoric against Jewish and pro-Israel communities seriously."

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office backed state legislation last year that expanded the number of crimes that are eligible for hate crimes prosecution.

New York Rep. Ritchie Torres also criticized the sentencing.
If only there were more Democrats like him.
"If you attempt to purge Jews from public places like subways, then the worst you can fear in NY is community service," Torres wrote on X. "The State of New York is sending a dangerous message that emboldens antisemitism."

The incident on the subway took place on June 10 after a large group of anti-Israel protesters left a demonstration in Manhattan’s Union Square to head to a protest against an exhibit commemorating the Supernova music festival, where Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
killed 360 people during its October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel.

That protest, led by the hardline anti-Israel group Within Our Lifetime, was widely condemned as antisemitic by government leaders in New York and Washington, DC.

Another anti-Israel protester, Christopher Husary,
…a resident of San Francisco, he came all the way to Manhattan to protest, vandalize the subway with the Hamas upside down triangle symbol, and hassle Jews…
was indicted for attempted coercion as a hate crime and aggravated harassment for another incident on the subway that took place around the same time.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg
...Soros-owned and operated Manhattan DA. Putting vicious and blood-thirsty criminals in jail only makes them unhappy, and they've led such hard lives after all...
’s office said Husary’s alleged victim, a 35-year-old Jewish man, boarded a subway at the Fulton St. station in lower Manhattan and saw Husary drawing an inverted red triangle, a Hamas symbol, on a subway door.

The Jewish man used his cell phone to photograph Husary, who then approached the man, who was wearing a kippah, and demanded he delete the photo.

According to Bragg’s office, Husary berated and threatened the Jewish man, calling him a "Zionist" and saying, "You’re not a real Jew." He then added, "We’ll find you and there will be consequences."

Husary is scheduled to appear in court again next week.

Antisemitic hate crimes have surged in New York City since the Hamas attack on Israel. In 2024, Jews were targeted in 345 hate crimes, more than all other minority groups combined, according to NYPD data.

The NYPD on Tuesday reported 18 antisemitic hate crimes in January.

Pro-Trump Arab American group changes name to protest Gaza ‘takeover’ proposal

Bishara Bahbah, chairman of the group formerly known as Arab Americans for Trump,
…some members are Moslem Arabs, some are Christian Arabs, and probably some are quietly something else…
said during a phone interview with The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on Wednesday that the group would now be called Arab Americans for Peace.

The name change came after Trump held a Tuesday presser alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House and proposed the US take "ownership" in redeveloping the area into "the Riviera of the Middle East."

"The talk about what the president wants to do with Gaza, obviously we’re completely opposed to the idea of the transfer of Paleostinians from anywhere in Historic Paleostine," Bahbah said. "And so we did not want to be behind the curve in terms of pushing for peace, because that has been our objective from the very beginning."

Arab Americans for Trump helped lead voter outreach efforts for Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential election in swing states such as Michigan and Arizona.

The group, independent from the Trump campaign, frequently facilitated meetings between Arab American community leaders and Trump’s allies, including Richard Grenell, now serving as Trump’s envoy for special missions, and Massad Boulos, the father-in-law of Trump’s daughter Tiffany and now a senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.

In the 2024 election, Trump became the first Republican presidential candidate to win Dearborn, Michigan — home to the nation’s largest concentration of Arab Americans — since 2000 on his way to winning the state. Trump visited Dearborn on November 1.

Bahbah said the group had been thinking about changing its name for "a while" and ultimately made the decision Tuesday. But Bahbah had said during a phone interview just prior to Trump’s Tuesday night presser with Netanyahu that the group’s name was Arab Americans for Trump.

In a blurb issued Wednesday by Arab Americans for Peace, the group said its members "appreciate the president’s offer to clean and rebuild Gaza" but "take issue with the president’s suggestion of taking over Gaza and removing its Paleostinian inhabitants."

Australian man arrested for hurling bacon while scrawling antisemitic graffiti
[IsraelTimes] 68-year-old allegedly spat on and threw ‘packet’ of cured pork at a passerby who confronted him over the vandalism

Police in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia have arrested a man who they say threw a "packet of bacon" at someone who interrupted his attempts at antisemitic graffiti.

The arrest, announced Tuesday, is the latest in a string as police crack down on antisemitic incidents in Melbourne and Sydney, home to Australia’s two largest Jewish communities.

The incident took place in a park on January 31, the Victoria Police said in a blurb. A 68-year-old man was seen allegedly scrawling "prejudice-motivated graffiti" on a fence when "a passerby approached the male offender and was spat on and had a packet of bacon thrown at him," the statement said.

He was charged with three crimes including "offensive graffiti."

"There is absolutely no place at all in our society for antisemitic or hate-based symbols and behavior," the police statement said. "Police will always treat reports of such crime seriously."

The mayor of the suburb where the incident took place said it was a "cowardly" attack meant to stir fear in local Jews who are already reeling from the arson of a prominent synagogue in December.

Officials in Sydney say they believe actors paid by foreign governments are behind many of the recent antisemitic incidents there.

Bacon and other pig products, which are not kosher to eat under Jewish law, have been used in antisemitic assaults before and have historically shown up in antisemitic imagery. In January 2020, an upstate New York woman was charged with a hate crime after allegedly throwing pork at a local synagogue in the middle of the night.

Carrying bacon for self-defense makes sense in highly specific circumstances. That stuff is like kryptonite to the Juice. It makes the Mooslims a litte nutzo, but they are usually so far gone you can't tell.

Pro tip: When deploying bacon tactically, take it *out* of the package. It is much more effective that way. Fight like you train, train like you eat.

Iraq
Trump’s hostage envoy warns Iraq of consequences if Elizabeth Tsurkov not freed
[IsraelTimes] Adam Boehler says Iraqi PM will be ‘complicit’ in captivity of Russian-Israeli researcher, who is believed to be held by an Iran-backed militia, if she ‘doesn’t come home NOW’

The Trump administration’s hostage envoy on Wednesday weighed in for the first time on the captivity of Princeton University researcher Elizabeth Tsurkov, an Israeli-Russian national
…one of those fools who believe that their good intentions will protect them when they walk neck-deep in evil…
believed to be held by an Iran-backed Iraqi militia, warning the prime minister of Iraq that he will be deemed complicit if she is not immediately released.

"Elizabeth Tsurkov is a Princeton student held hostage in Iraq!" Adam Boehler tweeted, adding that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
i "consistently made false promises to the prior administration about releasing her."

"BUT NOW [US President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
] IS ON TO YOU!" he added, warning that if Tsurkov "does not come home NOW then [Sudani] is either incapable and should be FIRED or worse COMPLICIT."

He shared a tweet by Tsurkov’s sister that slammed Sudani’s "incompetence and inaction," while railing at the Biden administration for "showering the corrupt Iraqi officials with hundreds of millions of our taxpayer dollars with no accountability."

"Thank God a tough leader with a backbone of steel is in the White House and is done playing games," Emma Tsurkov added, referring to Trump.

Tsurkov, a 38-year-old student at Princeton University, disappeared in Baghdad in March 2023 while doing research for her doctorate. She had entered the country on her Russian passport.

The only sign she was alive was a video broadcast in November 2023 on an Iraqi television station and circulated on pro-Iranian social media.

No group has grabbed credit for the kidnapping, but Israel believes she is being held by Kataeb Hezbollah,
...despite protestations from both sides that they are not connected in any way, the two groups have been known to train together, presumably on orders from the IRGC……
Last month, a senior Israeli official said Israel is working with allies in a renewed push to secure Tsurkov’s release, while Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein told journalist Barak Ravid that she is alive, and that Sudani is working for her release.

"Iraqi foreign minister Fuad Hussein told me in Davos that Princeton researcher Elizabeth Tsurkov who has been held hostage by an Iraqi militia is alive and stressed Prime Minister Sudani is working for her release," Ravid, who writes for the US Axios site and Israel’s Walla, posted on X.

Those statements came after special envoys for hostage affairs from several countries met the family of Tsurkov, and Israel asked the representatives to have their embassies in Baghdad lobby the Iraqi government and search for a way to start negotiations.

The Israeli official said that after months of covert efforts, Israel believes "changes in the region" have created an opportunity to work publicly for her release.

Denying US and Israel are planning a strike, Trump says he wants a deal with Iran
[IsraelTimes] US president urges that work on new nuclear pact start ‘immediately’; Iranian FM insists administration’s restoration of ‘maximum pressure’ policy ‘will turn into another failure’

US President Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
on Wednesday denied the United States and Israel plan to carry out a military strike on Iran, instead saying he wants to make a new nuclear deal with Tehran and that work on the pact should start immediately.

"I want Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
to be a great and successful Country, but one that cannot have a Nuclear Weapon. Reports that the United States, working in conjunction with Israel, is going to blow Iran into smithereens, ARE GREATLY EXAGGERATED," Trump wrote, apparently in the middle of the night, on his Truth Social platform. It was unclear which reports he was referring to.

"I would much prefer a Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement, which will let Iran peacefully grow and prosper," he wrote. "We should start working on it immediately, and have a big Middle East Celebration when it is signed and completed. God Bless the Middle East!"

The post echoed comments he made during a joint presser the day before with visiting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said the two of them are committed to ensuring Tehran never has a nuclear weapon.

On Tuesday, Trump restored his "maximum pressure" campaign on Iran, including efforts to drive its oil exports down to zero, in an effort to stop the Islamic Theocratic Republic from developing an atomic bomb.

The move brought back the tough US policy on Iran that Trump implemented throughout his first term.

Trump took exception to the idea that Iran is currently weak when it was suggested during his presser with Netanyahu.

"They’re not weak. They’re very strong right now, and we’re not going to allow them to have a nuclear weapon," Trump said. "It’s very simple."

"I signed a very strong proclamation," he said. "Doesn’t mean they won’t be weak [in the future]."

’A FAILED EXPERIMENT’
Responding, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Wednesday that the reimposition of a policy of heavy pressure against Iran will end in "failure" as it did when Trump was previously in office.

"I believe that maximum pressure is a failed experiment and trying it again will turn into another failure," Araghchi told news hounds following a cabinet meeting, while again claiming that Tehran was not pursuing nuclear weapons.

As part of the "maximum pressure" policy during his first term that ended in 2021, Trump withdrew the United States from a landmark nuclear deal between Iran and major powers and reimposed biting sanctions.

The deal — known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) — imposed curbs on Iran’s nuclear program in return for sanctions relief.

Tehran adhered to the deal until a year after Washington pulled out but then began rolling back its commitments. Efforts to revive the 2015 deal have since faltered.

"If the main issue is that Iran does not pursue nuclear weapons, it is achievable and is not much of a problem," Araghchi said, repeating the claim — derided by Western powers — that Tehran’s program is solely civilian.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also downplayed the impact of sanctions on Iran.

"America threatens new sanctions, but Iran is a powerful and resource-rich country that can navigate challenges by managing its resources," Pezeshkian said in a televised ceremony.

However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
a senior Iranian official told Rooters that "the holy manal establishment’s will is to give diplomacy with Trump another chance, but Tehran is deeply concerned about Israel’s sabotage."

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Tehran wanted the United States to "rein in Israel if Washington is seeking a deal" with the Islamic Theocratic RepublicOn Wednesday, Iran’s nuclear agency chief Mohammad Eslami insisted that his country remains committed to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, saying "Iran does not have, and will not have a nuclear weapons program."

in October 2023, and mounting discontent among many Iranians at the state of the economy, analysts say the holy manal establishment has few options other than to strike a deal with Trump.

The fall of Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Lord of the Baath...
in Syria in December, a crucial ally of Tehran, has severely disrupted Tehran’s "Axis of Resistance®," a network of regional gangs, terror proxies and allied states, with which Iran counters Israel and the United States while asserting its influence throughout the Middle East.

The Iranian official also said Tehran disagreed with "any displacement of Gazooks, but Iran-US talks are a separate matter," referring to Trump’s remarks that the US would take over war-ravaged Gaza and create a "Riviera of the Middle East" after resettling Paleostinians elsewhere.

"Iran does not agree with any displacement of Paleostinians and has communicated this through various channels. However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
this issue and the path of Iran’s nuclear agreement are two separate matters and should be pursued separately," the official said.

War in Gaza erupted on October 7, 2023, when the Paleostinian terror group Hamas led thousands of hard boyz in a devastating attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians. Terrorists also kidnapped 251 people who were taken as hostages to the Gaza Strip. The following day, Iran-backed Lebanese terror group began attacking across Israel’s northern border and the fighting escalated into open war by September the following year. Israel decimated Hezbollah’s leadership and depleted its fighting abilities before the two sides reached a mediated ceasefire at the end of November.

A ceasefire in the Gaza war, which began in January and includes the release of hostages, is in the midst of the first of its three phases, though the remaining two stages have yet to be negotiated and agreed on.
I'd really like a few things cleared up to solidify my knowledge base.

  • Could anybody hum the first few bars of the Paleostinian national anthem?
  • Who was the first king/potentate/president/prime minister of Paleostine?
  • Approximately when did he reign?
  • By which feats (or feets) of engineering did the indigenous Arabs who have been peacefully practicing Islam there since at least the time of the Natufians, manage to move the intrusive Hebrew temple under their second or whatever most holy mosque?

  • Gimme a little time and I'll think of a few more.

Iran displays Russian-made long-range air defense systems in military exercises
[IsraelTimes] Tehran claims drills, which come amid renewed US pressure, show Israel didn’t actually fell its air defenses in ‘malicious’ October strikes

    Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
used Russian-made long-range air defense systems in a military exercise on Wednesday, following Israeli strikes in October which Israel said had seriously weakened Tehran’s defensive capabilities.

Iranian state TV reported on Wednesday that in a simultaneous operation, Iran’s long-range air defense system Bavar-373 and Russian-made S-300
…I seem to recall that the Israeli Air Force can spoof the latter, but maybe the issue was that they weren’t turned on at the time…
shot down a hypothetical hostile target by firing missiles.

"Some enemy officials and media outlets, after the malicious attack in October, had claimed that they had rendered Iran’s long-range air defense systems non-operational," it said, referring to Israeli strikes.

Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian deepened military ties between their countries, signing a 20-year strategic partnership. Though the agreement made no specific mention of arms transfers, the two sides said they would develop "military-technical cooperation."

The exercises Wednesday took place one day after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met US President Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
to discuss regional topics including Iran’s nuclear program.

Both leaders said Iran could not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons, with Trump announcing earlier the resumption of his "maximum pressure" campaign on Iran to drive its oil exports down to zero in order to stop it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

"With me, it’s very simple: Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon," Trump said. Asked how close Tehran is to a weapon, Trump said: "They’re too close."

Last October, Israel carried out a series of Arclight airstrike

..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
invaded the Jewish state on October 7, 2023, launching the war in Gazoo

The Israeli military said the October strikes targeted strategic military sites in Iran — specifically drone and ballistic missile manufacturing and launch sites, as well as air defense batteries.

Then-defense minister Yoav Gallant said the Israeli strikes had weakened Iran’s attack and defensive capabilities, leaving it at a huge disadvantage in the event of future action.

In the wake of Israel’s retaliatory sorties, military officials in Israel saw an opportunity for a direct attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The Islamic Theocratic Republic, which is sworn to Israel’s destruction, says its nuclear program is strictly for civilian purposes, but it has enriched its uranium far beyond civilian levels and obstructed international inspectors, and it is understood to have had a military nuclear program in the past, which Israel maintains it never fully abandoned.

    Government Corruption
The USAID Scam Explained in 6 Short Paragraphs
[X] This USAID story is eliciting reactions that seem surprising to most people. Let me break down the real story for you. A short 🧵1/

USAID is a front for the CIA. They are an unaccountable agency, under the cover of humanitarian efforts overseas, who operate via various NGOs, to carry out domestic operations. 2/

When the dust settles we are going to find out that most of the domestic terror we have seen the last few years (think BLM and INTIFA riots) were funded by USAID. That is just the tip of the iceberg. 3/

They have been able to get away with this for so long because almost everyone in elected office in DC is either getting paid, just like the media orgs, or they are scared to raise the ire of USAID. 4/

Trump knew all of this which is why USAID was the very first government agency to get shut down. It is the conduit through which most of the deep state in DC operate. Now it is gone. 5/

The shrill responses from the uniparty eunuchs will grow louder until their own corruption is revealed. Buckle up. When all is revealed it will not only end many political careers, but there will be convictions and prison sentences. 6/

British academic Ghada Karmi demands extermination of Israel

    UK

The elderly Ghada Karmi, daughter of BBC Arabic Service broadcaster Hasan Karmi, so she is naturally a darling of the British establishment, is a Palestinian-born academic, physician and author. She has written on Palestinian issues in newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, The Nation and Journal of Palestine Studies. She claims the “Palestinian State” as her nationality and the PLO as her government, though the family left for Damascus in 1948 to clear the field for the triumphant five Arab armies, then subsequently moved to England, which has treated her much, much better than she and her deliberately Nazi vocabulary deserve. She has been Johnny One-Note about Israel for a very long time — propagandizing for the cause.

    Government Corruption
    Shocking! 'The Cartels Control Chicago
[WND] Chicago is at a breaking point — decades of corruption, mismanagement, and open-border policies have left its black communities struggling while politicians funnel resources to illegal immigrants.

More than $51 million meant for drug recovery was stolen, $1.9 billion in federal housing funds sits untouched, and crime is skyrocketing as the cartel launders money through real estate.

Meanwhile, schools are overrun, disease outbreaks are rising, and jobs meant for American workers are quietly being handed to those who crossed the border illegally.

P Rae Easley is leading the fight against this betrayal, exposing the lies of the political machine and demanding action.

Chicagoans are waking up — will you stand with them? Will you demand accountability, fight for your community, and reclaim what is rightfully yours? Now is the time to rise.

President Trump's stunning start: Reshape the government, remake the world
    [USA Today] Don't blink.

President Donald Trump, the sequel, has moved in his opening days with a velocity faster than any modern-day president, testing the boundaries of his power and challenging the checks and balances that have marked America's democracy from its founding.

He has even pitched plans to redraw the map of the world, from Greenland to Gaza.

To remind: It's only Day 17.

Laws stymied, notably the bill passed with bipartisan support banning TikTok. Appropriated funds withheld, although a second federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked the administration's sweeping freeze on federal grants and loans. Government agencies dismantled, starting with USAID; the Education Department may be next. A constitutional amendment guaranteeing birthright citizenship redefined by executive order. Tariffs threatened, imposed and paused on foreign countries, rattling the markets and allies.

Plus the "Fork in the Road" deadline − that was the subject line of the first email they received − looms Thursday for about two million federal workers to decide whether to take an unprecedented offer of buyouts. Even the CIA on Tuesday offered buyouts to almost all of its workforce.

The idea of a 100-day action plan, the milestone set by Franklin D. Roosevelt when he took office in the midst of the nation's worst depression, now seems almost quaint, like snail mail. Helped by a compliant Congress, Trump 2.0 is moving at fiber-optic speed, with more discipline and bigger ambitions than during his first term.

    Government Corruption
The USAID Scandal Is Getting Worse by the Minute
[PJ] The data is coming in so hot and fast today that it's all I can do not to fall behind too much, but the numbers all tell the same story: the Mainstream Legacy Media is a bought-and-paid-for arm of the Deep State. So while I was busy researching how more than $8 million in tax money went to Politico...

Politico's financials aren't public. I found estimates today that its 2023 revenues were as high as $400-plus million and as low as $7 million. Whatever the case, nobody, and I mean nobody forgets who paid it $8 million in subscription fees.

Anyway, a couple of hours later, Ian Miles Cheong reported, "The US Government gave the New York Times tens of millions of dollars over just the past 5 years despite paying relatively little money to the NYT in the years preceding 2021." We know who came into power in 2021. "For instance, in August 2024, the US government awarded $4.1 million to the NYT."

"The bulk of the funds came from the US Department of Health and Human Services at $26.90m, followed by the National Science Foundation at $19.15m."

Interesting that it was DHHS and the NSF ponying up 50 million American taxpayer dollars to a paper owned by a Mexican billionaire at a time when Washington wanted to silence certain voices on health issues pertaining to the emergence of COVID and the ridiculous government measures taken to "combat" it.

This post from Mike Benz was succinct and mind-blowingly on point:

Hundreds of women are raped then burned alive after rebel group breaks into prison and forces its way into female ward
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Hundreds of women were raped and then burnt alive after Rwandan-backed rebels sparked chaos by storming into the Congolese city of Goma, it has emerged.

The atrocity took place during a mass jail break from the Munzenze jail last week, as M23 fighters clashed with the Congolese army during deadly gun battles.

According to the UN, female inmates were butchered in their wing in the notoriously overcrowded prison after men forced their way in and went on a rampage.

While thousands of male criminals managed to flee the lock up, the area reserved for women was torched to the ground, Vivian van de Perre, the deputy head of the UN peacekeeping force in Goma, said.

Images taken shortly after M23 fighters reached the centre of Goma showed vast plumes of black smoke rising from the jail on January 27, as long lines of men sprinted away from the inferno, yelling.

It's unclear who was behind the slaughter of the female inmates as UN peacekeepers have been barred from entering the site by M23 rebels.

However, reports have suggested at least 141 jailed women were murdered, along with 28 young children, who had been in detention with their mothers.

Describing the carnage, Ms Van de Perre said the figure could be higher.

'There was a major prison breakout of 4,000 escaped prisoners. A few hundred women were also in that prison... They were all raped and then they set fire to the women's wing. They all died afterwards,' she said.

Local reports claim that during the mayhem, inmates were gunned down by guards as they attempted to stop the mass break out.

A week on from the rampage and the Munzenze jail lies in ruins and is completely empty, with the guards having deserted their posts.

A large part of the facility has been destroyed by blaze, including the prison administration's office. The prison was also looted in the wake of the escape.

Prior to the incident, Munzenze Central Prison housed around 4,400 inmates, well beyond its capacity.

On Tuesday it emerged that 2,000 bodies were still awaiting burial in Goma after the M23 rebels seized the city, which is the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's North Kivu province.

In a disturbing new claim following the uprising, the UN office of the high commissioner for human rights (OHCHR) warned that sexual violence is being used as a weapon of war by rival armed groups in Goma.

The city, home to one million people, is now under the complete control of M23 fighters.

On Monday the rebel group declared a ceasefire would begin on Tuesday for 'humanitarian reasons'.

FCC Opens Investigation into Soros-Backed Radio Stations for Broadcasting Live Locations of Undercover ICE Agents
[Breitbart] The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) has launched an investigation into radio stations backed by leftist billionaire George Soros for broadcasting live locations of undercover Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

As Breitbart News reported last year, a group backed by Hungarian-born Soros purchased over 200 Audacy radio stations and even took foreign investments to make his bid. The radio stations cover over 40 media markets in the United States, giving the leftist billionaire unprecedented control over communication.

According to Fox News, one of those stations, KCBS 740 AM in San Francisco has come under scrutiny from the FCC for “revealing live locations of undercover ICE vehicles and agents that were conducting deportation operations in the San Jose area.”

“The FCC’s Enforcement Bureau has already sent a formal Letter of Inquiry to the radio station as part of the FCC investigation,” noted Fox News. “The Enforcement Bureau proceeding is inquiring whether the radio station – which is licensed to operate by the FCC – is violating the terms of their FCC license, which requires that they operate in the ‘public interest.'”

The ICE agents were reportedly operating in response to violent gang activity.

“On January 26, the host of KCBS Radio Weekend News, revealed over the public airwaves that undercover ICE agents were “carrying out an operation on the east side of town” and then “revealed the specific make, color and model of several unmarked vehicles used in the operation,” per Fox News.

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr, a Trump-appointee, said in a statement that broadcasting such locations could potentially put agents at risk, which would violate the public interest.

“I want to express my thanks and appreciation to DHS and ICE agents. These law enforcement professionals are honorably serving this country and carrying out vital missions. Their safety is paramount. The FCC will hold broadcasters accountable for complying with their public interest obligations,” Carr told Fox News.

The US is scared by the power of the modernized cruiser Admiral Nakhimov
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The heavy nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov, when it returns to the Russian Navy after modernization, will become a significant symbol of the Russian Federation's power. This was stated on February 5 by the American publication The War Zone (WZ).

The authors of the material noted that many years of work on updating the ship have led to tangible results. A deep modernization has been carried out, it is planned that this will be a modern unit with a whole range of the latest weapons and systems.

The publication recalled that Admiral Nakhimov belongs to the 1144.2M Orlan project. The Russian Navy has one cruiser of this project, Pyotr Velikiy. It joined the Northern Fleet after a less extensive modernization.

The Admiral Nakhimov is planned to be equipped with 80 launchers for the Kalibr, Onyx and Zircon cruise missiles. The ship will be provided with S-300FM Fort systems and several Pantsir-M systems to ensure air defense. Many equipment elements are also planned to be replaced.

According to the publication, if the cruiser is equipped with weapons in accordance with plans, it will become the most powerful ship in the Russian Navy.

"But whatever the final configuration of the Admiral Nakhimov once it is back in service, this impressive warship will become a very significant symbol of Russia's naval power and could potentially serve for many years to come," the article says.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, in January, the Admiral Nakhimov underwent a physical launch of its nuclear reactor. According to sources in the military-industrial complex, the cruiser's factory sea trials are planned to begin in the summer of 2025, and it is to be handed over to the customer in 2026.

The cruiser Admiral Nakhimov was built in 1983, previously called Kalinin. It is a 1st rank ship. It has been undergoing modernization since 1999, but the actual work began only in 2013.

The Asayish said that over the past 15 days they have been conducting a wide-ranging security operation in the Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The statement added that the campaign specifically targeted “remnants of the collapsed Syrian regime and its affiliates, as well as ISIS sleeper cells.”

Ohio warehouse shooting suspect at large after 1 killed, 5 injured: police
[FoxNews] Suspect Bruce Reginald Foster III apprehended following shooting at KDC/One manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio

A suspect in a New Albany, Ohio workplace shooting that left one person dead and five others wounded is in custody, police said Wednesday.

Bruce Reginald Foster III was apprehended after police executed a search warrant at an apartment in Columbus, Ohio, police said. A suspect opened fire at a cosmetic manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, police say.

Foster has been charged with aggravated murder, according to Licking County court records.

"He had been at work for some time when this occurred. We don’t have any reports that there was any issue – that he was in an area that he wasn’t supposed to be, or he was in trouble in any way or there was any conflict," New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones said. "It is not to say there wasn’t something, but after interviewing everybody we have -- and the supervisor of the company – we don’t have any reports of anything like that."

Jones earlier described the incident as a "targeted attack."

Foster is described by the New Albany Police Department as being "6-feet tall, weighing 175 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes."
An incomplete description, but for the rest a photo at the link is worth more words.
One person was found deceased inside the building while five others were transported to local hospitals, Jones said. As of Wednesday morning, their conditions are unknown.

Jones also said a handgun was recovered from the scene.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro: 'Cocaine is no worse than whiskey'
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

    Text taken from a vesti.ru

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] Colombian President Gustavo Petro has made a statement that cocaine is no worse than whiskey, but he says the drug is banned because it is produced in Latin America. As Petro said at a government meeting, if drugs were legalized, cocaine would be sold in the same way as alcohol.

"Cocaine is no worse than whiskey. This has been studied by scientists. <...> What has befallen the United States, namely fentanyl, is killing them. And in Colombia they don't do this," El Universal quotes Petro as saying.

The money earned from cocaine shipments could be used for anti-alcohol propaganda among children, the Colombian leader claims.

It is noted that Petro's statement has caused resonance and criticism in the country, which is the world's largest cocaine producer.

According to this wonderful logic, heroin is banned because it is produced in Afghanistan. And so it would be legalized and the money earned from selling heroin could be spent on helping orphans in Afghanistan. It is not yet known whether the President of Colombia is currently receiving a share of sales in Cali and Medellin.

A significant number of previous presidents and other leaders of Colombia were in one way or another connected with various drug cartels. The previous President Uribe did not hesitate to interact with the drug cartel "Los Rastrojos", which was involved in attempts to overthrow President Maduro in Venezuela and fight the guerrillas FARC and ELN.

P.S. The author condemns the statement of the President of Colombia. Do not use cocaine and heroin. Whiskey is better.

Better than a poke in the eye...

FSB busts Hizb ut-Tahrir terrorist cell in Crimea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] FSB officers have stopped the activities of a cell of Hizbut Tahrir
...an al-Qaeda recruiting organization banned in most countries. It calls for the reestablishment of the Caliphate...
al-Islami (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) in Crimea. This was reported on February 5 by the press service of the agency.
Good job, FSB! You got rid of some of the bad guys.
“The activities of a covert cell of the international terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, consisting of five citizens of the Russian Federation, have been stopped in the Republic of Crimea,” the department reported.

All members of the cell were detained.

The cell members spread the Hizb ut-Tahrir ideology among Crimean Muslims, based on the doctrine of creating a so-called global caliphate. They recruited citizens during underground meetings.

During the searches, the detainees were found to have propaganda materials banned in Russia, communication devices and electronic media that were used in terrorist activities. The FSB Investigative Department opened a number of criminal cases.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on February 14, 2003, the Supreme Court of Russia recognized Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami as a terrorist organization and banned its activities on the territory of the country.

In early March last year, FSB officers detained members of a Hizb ut-Tahrir cell in Crimea who were spreading terrorist ideology in the region and recruiting local Muslims to their ranks. In addition to propaganda literature and electronic media used for terrorist activities, large sums of Russian and foreign currency were confiscated from the cell members.

ICE raid targets 100 Tren de Aragua members in Aurora, CO
[NYPOST] Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers hit multiple apartment complexes across Aurora, Colorado in raids targeting 100 Tren de Aragua gang members on Wednesday — just five months after the Democratic governor dismissed reporting by The Post that the violent mostly peaceful migrant gang had taken hold in the Denver suburb.

ICE's Denver branch said officers made arrests alongside federal agents from numerous other agencies including the DEA, FBI, US Marshals and Customs and Border Patrol.

The agency did not not say how many gang members were ultimately nabbed in the raid.

Agents raided four locations in the Denver metro area in a series of pre-dawn raids Wednesday, a federal law enforcement source told The Post.

DEA could be seen deploying flash-bangs outside one Denver apartment complex before sunrise.

The Rocky Mountain DEA division wrote on X that the the raid was part of Homeland Security ''operations taking place throughout the metro area this morning.''

Feds were seen loading handcuffed suspects onto a bus parked outside at least one complex, according to Denver7.

Some agents were also reportedly seen at the Edge of Lowry and Cedar Run apartment complexes, the outlet reported.

The Edge, which is located in Aurora, had become overrun by Tren de Aragua gangbangers from Venezuela

...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...

, who took over the building after it fell into disrepair.

One resident of The Edge told Denver7 that on Wednesday morning ICE agents ''pounded on our door hard'' and ''yelled for us to open the door.''

A judge recently ordered the shutdown of the infamous apartment complex for posing an ''imminent threat'' to the community following a spate of TdA terror.

    Cyber
Google has abandoned the idea of not using AI to create weapons
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Google has removed from its principles for the use of artificial intelligence a clause that does not allow such technologies to be used to develop weapons. This was reported on February 5 by the Bloomberg agency.
    ”Dear President Trump,
Please throw money at us! You should have plenty after the DOGE group gets through cleaning out current unnecessary spending, even if bunches of it came in our direction until a few days ago.
    Your friends,
    Google”

It is clarified that previously, in the section on restrictions on the use of AI, it was said that it was unacceptable to use technologies that “cause or may cause general damage,” including weapons, but now these words are gone.

When asked to comment on the situation, a Google spokesperson wrote in a blog post that democracies should be leaders in AI development, guided by core values such as freedom, equality, and respect for human rights.

“We believe that companies, governments, and organizations that share these values should work together to create AI that protects people, drives global growth, and supports national security,” the statement said.

Former Google AI Ethics Team Leader Margaret Mitchell told the publication that she was concerned about the company changing its principles for using these technologies. She noted that such a decision would nullify all the work done by AI ethicists and Google activists, and now the company could start creating technologies that will be capable of killing people.

As reported by IA Regnum, in February 2024, American businessman and multi-billionaire Elon Musk announced "insane racist" programming at Google. The entrepreneur made this statement after an incident with the generation of images by the company's Gemini neural network, which inaccurately depicted the race, ethnicity and gender of historical figures in response to user requests.

In early December, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out the importance of legal regulation of issues related to the use of AI. The head of state specified that it is necessary to ensure the effective use of all these opportunities for the development of the economy and social sphere, but at the same time to ensure the safety of our citizens and their rights, including the right to privacy.

[ZERO] Globalist billionaire Bill Gates made the rounds on far-left corporate media outlets on Tuesday morning, criticizing Elon Musk's DOGE to fold USAID into the State Department—a move that would place Secretary of State Marco Rubio as the agency's Acting Administrator. Gates has panicked, and making the rounds on MSM shows just that because he knows that USAID's funding days for his nonprofit empire might be numbered, as Rubio will apply maximum oversight into grant distributions.

Gates appeared on NBC's Today Show, telling the host that Musk "doesn't appreciate the phenomenal work at USAID." He continued, "It's not partisan work."

However, according to a DailyWire report, 97% of the political contributions from USAID workers went to the Democratic Party. That's a good one, Bill.

    Government Corruption
FBI still refusing to provide information pertaining to the murder of Seth Rich
[AT] Seth Rich was a DNC operative. He was "mysteriously murdered in the summer of 2016" just "weeks before" Wikileaks released the results of its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. The matter of who leaked Clinton’s emails to Wikileaks directly pertains to the Russian Collusion Hoax that was perpetrated against President Trump. The murder is still unsolved. And the FBI still refuses to turn over records pertaining to the case to attorney Ty Clevenger, despite a federal judge ruling that the agency must do so way back in November of 2023. Even earlier, in September of that year, a judge demanded that the FBI and DOJ provide everything they had regarding Seth Rich to Clevenger.
I suspect the new and improved Justice Department will have something to say very soon about these refusals.
The FBI responded by requesting another 66 years before they’d be required to release the information.

66 years?! "If we put our best people on it, and maybe work a little overtime, I think we should be able to get our notes and emails together for you in, say, 66 years."

What the hell?! How can they get away with this preposterous intransigence? 66 years is essentially the span of time from the invention of the automobile until we landed on the friggin’ moon! They should be able to get any and all materials relevant to this investigation together in 66 hours! 66 days, tops.

This is just another example of a massive DNC-weaponized agency protecting itself...and the Democrat party...from a catastrophic public relations disaster and any subsequent accountability or penalties.

In a nutshell, it’s bulls**t and shouldn’t be permitted in a nation supposedly governed by equal justice and the rule of law.

This ties in, of course, with the way USAID and other federal agencies have been screaming about being investigated for waste and corruption. Democrats are making speech after speech, inside and outside the Capitol—each one shriller and more devoid of facts or rationality—in rabid defense of their favorite bloated cash cows. They appear to have gone bat-guano crazy, completely around the bend, off their rockers, off the rails, out of their minds. Really and truly. It is alternately hilarious and frightening to see.

"Common sense" sends them into a frenzy. Truth and transparency frightens them. Accountability is their kryptonite. Speaking of truth, they care neither about "democracy" nor the people they are supposed to serve. They only care about their own power and money. They are frauds and charlatans. And hypocrites.

In fact, it’s beginning to look like they may be trying to foment—dare I say it—an insurrection.
There were supposed to be big nationwide protests yesterday under the headline 50 States. 50 Protests. 1 Day, but only a few Bernie Bros and Antifa types showed up in some cities for crowd sizes quantified as “dozens”. The insurrection lacks the usual screeching cannon fodder.

    -Short Attention Span Theater-
Delta and Japan Airlines planes collide at Seattle Airport
Testing all FAA staff for competence clearly ought to be a priority, followed by replacing those who don’t pass with those who can.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Japan Airlines jet sliced the tail of a Delta plane during a frightening collision at Seattle Airport on Wednesday morning.

The taxiing Japan Airlines plane that arrived from Tokyo struck the tail of a parked Delta plane at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 10:17am. Both aircraft were filled with passengers.

Terrified passengers, who were located between S Concourse and the south maintenance hangars, were astonished to see the wing embedded into the tail from outside their windows.

No injuries were reported and there was minimal impact to airport operations. Images online showed the Japan Airlines wing cut right through the Delta tail.

'So, we were sitting on the tarmac at SeaTac and another plane ran into us, just casually sliced into our tail. Very scary,' one witness said on X.

There were 142 customers on the Delta flight from Seattle to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The company said they are working to get passengers on a new aircraft.

'While in sequence for deicing, the tail of a Delta 737 aircraft reportedly made contact with a wing tip of another airline's aircraft,' a Delta spokesperson told DailyMail.com.

'There are no reports of injuries for crew or customers on the flight, and we apologize for the experience and delay in travels.'

Bondi's DOJ Day 1 directives: Fight weaponization of justice, eliminate cartels, lift death penalty ban
[FoxNews] Hitting the ground running, like all the rest of the Trump 47 hires.
Attorney General Pam Bondi will issue several major directives on her first day leading the Justice Department, including orders to combat the weaponization of the legal system; make prosecutors seek the death penalty when appropriate; and work with the Department of Homeland Security to "completely eliminate" cartels and transnational criminal organizations, Fox News Digital has learned.

Bondi was confirmed by the Senate on Tuesday night as attorney general and sworn in on Wednesday.

Fox News Digital exclusively obtained memos outlining Bondi’s first-day directives, which will lay the groundwork for the Justice Department under her leadership.

Bondi issued a directive regarding "zealous advocacy." Bondi said DOJ attorneys’ responsibilities include "aggressively enforcing criminal laws passed by Congress, but also vigorously defending presidential policies and actions on behalf of the United States against legal challenges."

"The discretion afforded Justice Department attorneys with respect to those responsibilities does not include latitude to substitute their personal political views or judgments for those that prevailed in the election," the memo states.

"When Justice Department attorneys refuse to faithfully carry out their role by, for example, refusing to advance good-faith arguments or declining to sign briefs, it undermines the constitutional order and deprives the President of the benefit of his lawyers," the memo continues.

Bondi, in the memo, states that "any Justice Department attorney who declines to sign a brief, refuses to advance good-faith arguments on behalf of the Trump administration, or otherwise delays or impedes the Justice Department’s mission will be subject to discipline and potentially termination."

Bondi is set to establish the "Weaponization Working Group," which will review the activities of all law enforcement agencies over the past four years to identify instances of "politicized justice."

The working group’s first reviews will include prosecutions against Trump led by former Special Counsel Jack Smith; Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg; and New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the civil fraud case against Trump and his family.

The working group will also review any potential prosecutorial abuse regarding Jan. 6, 2021; the FBI’s targeting of Catholic Americans; the Justice Department’s targeting of parents at school board meetings; and abuses of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, or FACE, Act.

Meanwhile, Bondi also will end the moratorium on federal executions and order that federal prosecutors at the Department of Justice, including U.S. attorneys' offices, seek the death penalty when appropriate — specifically with a focus on violent drug trafficking crimes.

Bondi also ordered that the Justice Department "re-evaluate instances of the prior administration electing not to seek the death penalty."

Bondi also is expected to rescind any DOJ policies that are "not sufficiently in line with President Trump’s death penalty executive order."

The move represents a major reversal from the Justice Department’s view of the death penalty under the Biden administration. In 2021, Biden allowed the DOJ to issue a moratorium on federal executions.

In December 2024, Biden commuted the sentences of 37 of the 40 criminals on federal death row, which President Donald Trump, in his executive order on the death penalty, described as the "most vile and sadistic rapists, child molesters, and murderers on Federal death row."

Bondi said she is now also directing the Justice Department to achieve justice for the families of the victims of the 37 murderers who had their death sentences commuted.

As for cartels, Bondi is directing the Justice Department to work closely with the Department of Homeland Security and other federal partners to "completely eliminate" the threats of cartels and transnational criminal organizations.

Bondi plans to re-imagine charging priorities relating to those cases in order to ensure that law enforcement resources are focused on dismantling the foundational operational capacity of cartels, as opposed to just picking off low-level offenders.

Here, the Justice Department is expected to temporarily suspend some "bureaucratic approvals and reviews" in order to prioritize speedy prosecutions and captures of those accused of severe offenses like capital crimes, terrorism or aiding the operations of cartels.

Bondi said Joint Task Force Vulcan, which was created to destroy MS-13, and Joint Task Force Alpha, which was created to fight human trafficking, would be "further empowered and elevated" to the Office of the Attorney General. Those missions are expected to expand — specifically Vulcan’s — with a new focus on destroying Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang now designated as a foreign terrorist organization.

Also on the cartel front, Bondi is directing the DOJ Office of Legal Policy to find legislative reforms to target equipment designed to make fentanyl pills and add Xylazine, a new deadly drug, to Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act.

And as for illegal migrants, Bondi has directed the DOJ to pause all federal funding for sanctuary cities.

Bondi also has directed the DOJ to identify and evaluate all funding agreements with nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) that provide support to illegal aliens.

She is also directing litigating components of the Justice Department to investigate instances of jurisdictions that are impeding law enforcement, and directing they be prosecuted, when necessary.

Meanwhile, Bondi will create a new Joint Task Force focused on holding Hamas accountable for its crimes against Jews during its terror attack in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. The task force will also "achieve justice for victims and fight terrorist-led antisemitism."

The task force will pursue criminal charges where applicable against Hamas; seek the arrest and extradition of Hamas leadership; and investigate antisemitism in the U.S.

Bondi is also directing the FBI to staff the joint task force with personnel "significantly experienced in investigating terrorism."

Beyond those directives, Bondi is directing the DOJ to confirm the termination of all diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs at the department by March 15. She also is demanding the removal of all references to DEI in training programs — specifically ending the emphasis on race and sex-based criteria and refocusing hiring and promotion guidelines "solely on merit."

Bondi will also work with the Department of Education to ensure that educational institutions receiving federal grants are adhering to "fair admission practices."

Bondi, a longtime prosecutor and former Florida attorney general, has vowed not to use her position to advance any political agenda, testifying to the Senate Judiciary Committee that "politics has to be taken out of this system."

Bondi told lawmakers in January that the "partisanship, the weaponization" at the Justice Department "will be gone."

"America will have one tier of justice for all," she said.

Before Bondi was confirmed, Fox News Digital exclusively reported that the Trump Justice Department fired more than a dozen key officials who worked on former Special Counsel Smith’s team prosecuting Trump, after acting Attorney General James McHenry said they could not be trusted in "faithfully implementing the president’s agenda."

And Friday, acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove issued a memo to the acting FBI director directing him to terminate eight FBI employees and identify all current and former bureau personnel assigned to Jan. 6 and Hamas cases for an internal review.

After the directive, on Tuesday, a group of nine FBI agents filed a lawsuit seeking to block the public identification of any FBI employees who worked on the Jan. 6 investigations into the U.S. Capitol riots in an attempt to head off what they described as potentially retaliatory efforts against personnel involved in the probe.

Top secret US spy plane is caught making mysterious trip to cartel stronghold
    Lots of photos, maps, etc.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The flight path of a US spy plane shows it conducted a mysterious mission over the Gulf of California in Mexico this week.

Tracking data captured the US Air Force RC-135 Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft taking off from Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska on Monday, flying southwest to California.

The Rivet Joint then headed south along the western coast of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico, moved north into the Gulf of California, and returned to base on Tuesday.

The aircraft appeared to stay in international airspace while operating near Mexico. It did not reach the end of the Gulf that is blocked by Mexico's territorial sea.

However, the area falls under the influence of the Sinaloa Cartel, a large and notorious drug trafficking organization.

US-Mexico relations have remained strained due to continued drug smuggling and illegal immigration into the US.

The flight has sparked speculations from the military collecting communications to US officials sending a message after Trump agreed to a 30-day pause on his tariff threats against Mexico, allowing time for the country to secure its borders.

An official told Air & Space Forces Magazine that the US was using the RC-135 to conduct 'ISR flights,' which gather information to support military operations off the coast of Mexico.

It's not yet clear exactly what the purpose of the flight was, but The War Zone speculated that the spy plane may be able to detect and intercept communications in the northwestern territory of Mexico.

The US Air Force describes the spy plane as supporting 'theater and national level consumers with near real time on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities.'

The interior seats more than 30 people, including the cockpit crew, electronic warfare officers, intelligence operators and in-flight maintenance technicians.

It was designed to 'detect, identify and geolocate signals,' and provides on-the-spot intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination capabilities.

When the Pentagon first announced the deportation flights on January 22, a senior military official suggested that high-end intelligence-gathering aircraft (like the RC-135) could be involved.

'There could be some additional airborne intelligence surveillance support assets that would move down to the border to increase situational awareness,' the official said.

But the flight map captured the aircraft soaring over Sinaloa Cartel territory, adding more mystery to the mission.

The Sinaloa Cartel is considered one of the largest and most powerful drug trafficking organizations in the Western Hemisphere, primarily involved with trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and heroin into the US.

Courtesy of NoMoreBS, The War Zone points out that the plane flew two sorties, and has all sorts of what looks to be very technical information that should interest those of you who understand such things.

So it's basically a "Looking Glass" type aircraft on a data collection mission.

A mission for possible future corrective actions.
IF!!! The Mexican Gov fails to address the Cartel and the 8+ Million Mexican deportee return issues.

    NEXT!!
Given, so many West Coast area Illegals need a new place to stay, that has places to house them ☺.

Trump should announce the USA will declare that the Baja peninsula Territory will be used to relocate deportees.☺

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Pentagon has begun developing a plan for the complete withdrawal of US troops from Syria.
[Regnum] The Pentagon is developing a plan for the complete withdrawal of all American troops from Syria in 30, 60 or 90 days. This was reported on February 5 by the NBC television channel, citing two American officials.
This time the generals are taking President Trump seriously, instead of trying to baffle him with flimflammery like they did in Afghanistan. Because we all saw how that turned out.
They specified that US President Donald Trump and administration officials close to him recently spoke in favor of a complete withdrawal of troops from the country's territory. Following this, the US Department of Defense began preparing plans to implement this step.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had failed to cope with social problems in the country, in particular due to the destructive actions of the United States, which occupied the resource-rich northeast of Syria. The minister emphasized that it was the strangulation of the Syrian economy that contributed to social tension in the country, and Damascus had to resort to unpopular measures, including reducing subsidies for socially significant goods and services.

In December, Trump said Syrians would have to cope with the crisis in their country on their own, without help from the United States or France. He said he refused to participate in supporting the country.

Russia has helped the Syrian government fight terrorist groups, pledging to provide support while the republic's army is conducting the fighting. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted in 2015 that Russians would not be "greater Syrians than the Syrians themselves."

On December 8, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Bashar al-Assad had resigned as President of Syria and left the country, ordering a peaceful transfer of power. He and his family arrived in Russia, where they were granted asylum. The head of the "salvation government" formed in Idlib, Mohammed al-Bashir, became the acting Prime Minister of Syria.

Later, on January 29, the new Syrian authorities announced the termination of the previous constitution and the dissolution of the country's parliament. Ahmed al-Sharaa was declared the head of the new administration of the interim government of Syria for the transitional period.

Orientalist does not believe in US plans to withdraw American troops from Syria

The withdrawal of American troops from Syria in the foreseeable future is impossible, despite the statements in the press, said Stanislav Tarasov, an expert on the problems of the Middle East and the Caucasus, in a conversation with IA Regnum.

NBC reported earlier on February 5 that the Pentagon was developing plans to withdraw US troops from Syria. It was claimed that the information was received from US officials, and the plan itself would involve withdrawal of troops in 30, 50 and 90 days.

"The thing is that this is a regular fake. The day before, US President Donald Trump personally made a statement that he was reviewing the issue of withdrawing troops from Syria. He specified that the situation is really difficult, but this withdrawal of troops is suspended," Tarasov said.

The orientalist said that Trump motivates this position by the escalating fighting in northern Syria between the Syrian army, which is supported by Turkey, and the Kurds, who are supported by the United States. The expert also pointed out that there is a danger of Turkey invading Syria, which also influenced Trump's decision to suspend the withdrawal of American troops.

"The withdrawal of these troops will mean that the Kurds are losing the power to support their actions. A civil war will begin there, a real meat grinder. And therefore, such rumors that are going on in parallel, about 60-90 days and so on, are fakes that are designed to test the situation. By all indications, the Americans will remain in Syria in the foreseeable future," Tarasov said.

The expert believes that the NBC report cannot be any kind of backup option for the Americans, since this topic has long been in Trump's field of vision. As the orientalist recalled, the Republican raised this issue during his first presidential term. The agency's interlocutor believes that, despite the American administration's statements about weakening its presence in the Middle East, the situation remains tense and there is no talk of withdrawing US troops from there.

"In fact, this is what is called a pyramid, from which they are trying to pull out one brick. But even from this, the pyramid can collapse. There must be clearly thought-out actions here. And there is no need to rush even to pressure the Americans regarding the withdrawal of their troops from Syria, because if they only start doing this now, a civil war will break out there," the expert explained.

At the same time, Tarasov noted that any agreements between the US and Turkey are possible only if the States surrender the Kurds. And Washington is not doing this at the moment, on the contrary, it is protecting the Kurds from Ankara's pressure, the orientalist added in conclusion.

Earlier, Regnum news agency reported the words of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov that the former President of Syria Bashar al-Assad was unable to cope with social problems in the country, in particular, due to the destructive actions of the United States, which occupied the resource-rich northeast of Syria. The minister emphasized that it was the strangulation of the Syrian economy that contributed to social tension in the country, and Damascus was forced to resort to unpopular measures, including reducing subsidies for socially significant goods and services.

10:30 European countries have defined key parameters for the creation of a special tribunal that will have the authority to hold accountable political and military leaders of the Russian Federation who bear the highest responsibility for the crime of aggression. This was reported by the Presidential Office.

8:40 Four people were injured as a result of a Russian drone attack in Kherson. Four men - 42, 31, 36 and 52 years old - were hit by the enemy drone. The victims suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to the legs and arms.

7:58 In Kharkiv, as a result of a night drone attack, non-residential buildings - architectural monuments and an educational institution - were damaged and burned. One person was injured.

7:25 As of February 5, 2025, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine were approximately 844,070 people (+1,140 per day).

Trump Treasury head defends Elon Musk's DOGE despite 'squawking' from critics
[FoxBusinessNews] Scott Bessent details Trump's economic agenda, including his tariff policies and goal to re-privatize the economy

Since billionaire Elon Musk joined forces with President Donald Trump to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), various Democrats and other critics have complained over the Tesla founder's influence on the federal government.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, however, came to Musk and DOGE's defense Wednesday on "Kudlow."

"Elon Musk is the greatest entrepreneur of this generation," Bessent told FOX Business host Larry Kudlow in his first interview since joining the Trump administration.

"DOGE is not going to fail. They are moving a lot of people's cheese here in the capital, and when you hear this squawking, then some status quo interest is not happy," he continued.

Bessent's defense comes after weekend reports claimed the Treasury Department granted DOGE personnel access to the federal government's payment system. The Treasury spends roughly $6 trillion per year on payments for federal agencies.

Since then, a Treasury Department official told members of Congress on Tuesday that a tech executive working with DOGE, will have "read-only access" to the government's payment system, stressing that it is committed to safeguarding the system after the department was granted access.

The official wrote a letter in response to lawmakers who were concerned that DOGE's access to the government's payment system for the federal government could lead to security risks or missed payments for various programs, including Social Security and Medicare.

"At the Treasury, our payment system is not being touched," Bessent said Wednesday. "We process 1.3 billion payments a year. There is a study being done — can we have more accountability, more accuracy, more traceability that the money is going where it is. But in terms of payments being stopped, that is happening upstream at the department level."

The Treasury's payments are managed by its Bureau of the Fiscal Service, which disburses nearly 90% of all federal payments and conducts more than 1.2 billion transactions per year, according to its website.

While lawmakers have expressed concerns that Musk possesses too much power within the U.S. government, Bessent emphasized the billionaire's efforts are part of the Trump administration's "mandate" from the American people.

"The U.S. doesn't have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem. I think we can up the revenues, we can up the growth, and most importantly, President Trump got elected because of this affordability crisis... What is he going to do for the affordability crisis? Real wage growth for working Americans is the best way to fix this," Bessent said.

Bessent argued "gigantic government spending" fueled economic growth under the Biden administration but failed to bring about "real" wage growth.

In contrast, Bessent explained how the newly-elected Trump administration will tackle the affordability crisis by re-privatizing the economy, cutting taxes and regulations, addressing the growing deficit and boosting domestic energy production.

    -Lurid Crime Tales-
Furious Los Angelenos chase down arsonist trying to start a new fire a month after disaster
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Furious Los Angeles residents who survived the deadly wildfires chased down and apprehended a man who they say sparked another blaze near their homes.

The residents of Chatsworth, California were caught on camera chasing a man - who was later identified as 41-year-old Alejandro Martinez - down a mountainous road in their vehicles on Monday.
Nuts, narco gangster, illegal alien? The Daily Mail doesn’t say.
One man was also seen following Martinez on foot, eventually catching up to the firebug and pushing him to the ground.

'Wrong neighborhood buddy! Wrong neighborhood,' a bystander then tells him.

By the time Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, Martinez was lying in a prone position to surrender himself to the authorities, who quickly handcuffed him and escorted him into the back of a police vehicle.

But he could be heard protesting in Spanish, 'I haven't stolen anything, seriously,' Fox 11 reports.
Congratulations for being a wannabe murderer instead of a thief.
Stolen property, however, was not what the residents were concerned about. They instead told officers they saw Martinez - who was wearing black and hiding in the brush - start a fire at around 4.30pm on Woolsey Canyon Road, and followed him as he tried to flee the scene.

Meanwhile, the fire Martinez allegedly ignited grew to around 100 square feet in size before it was extinguished by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, according to KTLA.

'Thank God there were no strong winds, because it could have gone much worse,' videographer Gabe Cortez told the Los Angeles Times in the aftermath.

'Given all the recent fires, communities and people are just so much more aware of these types of things now and they're on high alert.'

Brandon Taylor, a photographer with Traffic News LA who recorded the incident, added that the 'residents were furious.'

'They've gone through the Woolsey Fire, which started just a mile from there,' he explained. 'With the dry vegetation, they were really concerned about him starting another fire and losing their homes.'

The deadly infernos, which are now mostly contained, burned through more than 57,000 acres in Southern California, killing 29 people and destroying more than 16,000 homes and businesses last month.

Investigators are still working to determine what may have caused the fires, with some suggesting it may have been the work of arsonists.

'We had numerous fires in the LA County region almost simultaneously, which leads us to believe that these fires were intentionally set by a person,' LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone told BBC, adding that about half of the brush fires he responds to were intentionally set.

At least eight people have already been arrested in connection with starting the recent fires, according to CNN.

Martinez now joins the growing list as he was due to appear in court on Wednesday.

He was being held on a $75,000 bail, and the LA Times reports that there was a warrant out for his arrest at the time the brave civilians detained him - though it is unclear what the warrant was for.

His day in court came as California Gov. Gavin Newsom was scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump to discuss whether residents will receive any federal aid after State Farm General asked the state government to approve emergency price hikes to its insurance policies.

The company sent a four-page letter to the California Department of Insurance on Monday pleading with regulators to allow an average rate increase of 22 percent for homeowners.

State Farm, a California-based subsidiary of the much larger State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, also wants to be able to slap condo owners and renters with a 15 percent increase.

Those who rent out units to tenants should be hit with a 38 percent increase, according to the letter, which was signed by top-level executives at the company including CEO Dan Krause.

'We are requesting that you take emergency action to help protect California’s fragile insurance market by immediately approving interim rate increases...with rates to be effective May 1, 2025,' the letter read.

State Farm General justified this by saying it had received more than 8,700 claims related to the wildfires as of February 1 and has now paid over $1billion to customers as a result.

    Massive layoffs at the CIA
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from an article which appeared in rbc.ru

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] The CIA has joined Trump's program to reduce the government apparatus, as part of which the agency's employees were offered to resign and receive salaries for eight months in advance. The agency called it part of a strategy to "reenergize"

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has distributed among its employees an offer to resign with the condition of receiving salaries for eight months and benefits, CNN and The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report with reference to sources.

An assistant to the CIA Director appointed by the new President Donald Trump, John Ratcliffe, said that the agency is also freezing the hiring of new employees who have already received offers.

The agency representative said that this step is part of an effort to "ensure that the CIA's employees are aligned with the administration's national security priorities" and called it part of a "comprehensive strategy to reenergize the agency."

During the election campaign, Trump promised to reform the US bureaucracy and after taking office, he began to implement the plan. The TV channel and the newspaper note that the CIA was the first national security agency to be affected by these measures.

According to CNN, Ratcliffe personally decided that the agency should be involved in this program of action. The channel's sources noted that it is not yet clear whether all employees will be able to take advantage of the said conditions, or whether they only apply to certain positions.

WSJ, citing an assistant to the new director, indicates that the CIA now intends to pay more attention to the Western Hemisphere and those countries that are not considered US adversaries. The agency is going to take on tasks to combat Mexican drug cartels and will probably monitor the Mexican government in view of the trade war.

CNN points out that, according to some members of Trump's team, in recent years the CIA has begun to focus too much on analysis at the expense of covert intelligence collection and covert operations.

On the first day of his presidency, Trump signed dozens of executive orders, including those related to the work of the federal government, and, for example, banned the hiring of civil servants and the adoption of new regulations until his administration establishes "full control" over the federal government. In addition, government employees were ordered to immediately leave remote work and return to their workplaces.

The US administration also created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will be headed by entrepreneur Elon Musk, the goal of the new structure is to carry out massive layoffs and purges in the government apparatus.

In fact, this is a continuation of the purge of people associated with the Democrats, as has already happened with the leadership of USAID. In this case, this public is offered to receive severance pay and leave the CIA on their own. It can be expected that after this stage, there will be targeted dismissals/transfers to secondary positions of those who persist in their delusions. Trump has not forgotten the role of the CIA in interfering in American domestic political processes in the interests of Clinton and Biden, so revenge is inevitable, especially since there is his own man at the head of the CIA + there is a motivation of "cost reduction", within the framework of which a lot can be done with Musk's visa, including bypassing the US Congress, which especially outrages the Democrats. The usual restraining mechanism for balancing processes does not work.

The next round will be in the courts, where the Democrats will try to put up a fight, because at this rate Trump will still break a lot of firewood in the process of fighting the "Biden legacy", and the midterm elections are still far away.

In general, the partial restructuring of the CIA is beneficial to us, since it will certainly hit the agency as a whole, despite public statements that it will not affect the CIA's day-to-day work. However, I would not count on Ratcliffe turning out to be someone like Bakatin and doing to the CIA what Bakatin did to the KGB.
Vadim Viktorovich Bakatin, briefly the last chairman of the KGB before the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. He died in 2022, having done his best to be one of the good guys under difficult circumstances, as far as I can tell.
After all, we are talking about a soft purge of Trump's opponents within the intelligence services.

    Government Corruption
Bribery is rampant in the U.S. government and military—but it’s also legal.
    [X]

    John Ʌ Konrad V
    @johnkonrad
Fact: Bribery is rampant in the U.S. government and military—but it’s also legal.

To understand what’s going on at USAID you must understand how bribery works in America today.

Here’s how to legally bribe a 4-star US Army General:

American bribery operates differently than the classic cash-in-a-suitcase (or bitcoin today!) model still used in most other countries. It relies on trust, time, and reputation—making it nearly impossible to prosecute.

Example 1: Bribing a General in Africa

A corrupt general in Africa demands $2 million cash (or gold or BYT) up front. Why? Because if you don’t pay later, he has no way to enforce the deal.

    Example 2: Bribing a U.S. General (Legally)

If you’re a defense contractor in the U.S., you play the long game:
1.Invite the general into a secure, private meeting.
2.Thank him for his “dedicated support” on a project “for the American people.”
    3.Wink.
4.Casually mention that a board seat might open up at your company—about five years after he retires.
5.Tell him to call you in ten years to “help find good candidates.”

Fast forward five years: Boom. He lands that board seat. It pays $500,000 per year for five years. Congratulations—he just pocketed $2.5 million, plus interest.

    The Board Seat Shuffle

This gets even better. Say Widgets Inc. lands a huge contract thanks to General Smith, and Cogs Inc. gets another big deal thanks to Admiral Jones.

Instead of directly paying them off, Widgets Inc. gives a cushy board seat to Admiral Jones. Cogs Inc. returns the favor by hiring General Smith.

No money exchanged while they were in uniform. No laws broken.

    The Enforcement Mechanism: Reputation

But what if Cogs Inc. fails to pay Admiral Jones?

    Simple: Reputation kills them.

Word spreads fast in the high-trust world of defense contracting. Generals and admirals still in uniform hear the whispers. Suddenly, Cogs Inc. starts losing contracts.

    Example 3: USAID

Want to bribe a Congressman? Here’s how the game works. First, get them to steer a juicy contract your way. Take some of that money and set up a nonprofit—nothing flashy, just enough to move funds around. A few years after they’re voted out, suddenly there’s a cushy board seat waiting for them. In the meantime, have them use their connections to secure a USAID grant for the next wave of Congressmen or staffers. Rinse and repeat to expand the ponzi scheme and just like that, you’ve built a self-sustaining influence machine.

    The lesson?

The bribe is exactly the same as a cash payoff—it’s just delayed, sanitized, and hidden behind a veil of “corporate best practices.”

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how government bribery legally thrives in America.

If this goes viral I might post 2/2 an even more ingenious bribery system: How China Bribes A Foreign General

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Political, military and religious entities in Suwayda Governorate, southern Syria, establish a political council to represent the region’s perspective in the new Syria
    [PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Political, military and religious entities in Suwayda Governorate, southern Syria, announced on Monday the establishment of a political council, presenting a political, security, and economic vision reflecting the region’s perspective in the new Syria.

The council aims to represent local factions, notable religious figures, intellectuals, and politicians.

Ziyad Abu Hamdan, a member of the council, stated that its formation seeks to “fill the political void, unify perspectives, and mobilize efforts in line with the evolving needs of Syrians in the upcoming phase.”

The council asserts that it is not a political party and does not adhere to any specific ideology. Instead, it is founded on key principles, primarily “linking political discourse to a comprehensive national project, engaging with all political and democratic forces, and working toward shared interests that embrace Syria’s diversity.”

The council’s formation follows consultative meetings and dialogue sessions held late in 2024, where committees were prepared for participation in the Syrian national conference in Damascus—steps that ultimately led to the council’s establishment.

Abu Hamdan welcomed the appointment of Ahmad al-Sharaa as the head of Syria’s transitional phase, describing it as “a crucial step in organizing the Syrian state.”

The council’s program also emphasizes “preserving Syria’s unity—both its people and territory—building a decentralized democratic state based on regional governance rather than sectarian divisions, and ensuring that power remains with the people through a parliament elected under a new constitution rooted in the principle of separation of powers.”
