Security chief tells UK MI5 and MI6 to go WOKE!
[DailyMail] Security chief tells our spies to go woke: With a full Ukraine invasion in Europe's worst crisis since WW2, MI5 and MI6 officers are being told to think about their 'white privilege'... and avoid using words such as 'grip' and 'strong'

  • UK's spies are being urged to consider 'white privilege' and declare pronouns

  • Leaked guide suggests agents should avoid genders terms such as 'manpower'

  • The spies are also encouraged not to speak on all-male panels in the document

  • Critics said security should be less focused on inclusion and more on Ukraine

Is Putin's Next Target the Baltic States?
[PJMedia] Who's next?

IMO Kazakhstan. Look at a map - adjoins the most targeted part of Ukraine. Resource rich. Home of Russia's spaceport. Not subject of any NATO or similar treaties. At risk of Chinese co-option (Uighurs are essentially eastern Kazakhs.)

Combine that with our exodus from A'stan. Add in the meetings today between Russia and Pakistan.

Mitt Romney Blames "Shortsightedness" of President Trump's America First Policies Following Russia's Invasion of Ukraine
Mitt Romney released a statement on Twitter last night after Russia invaded Ukraine.

Romney blamed the "shortsightedness" of President Trump’s policy of America First after news of the invasion.

Breitbart.com reported:
"Putin’s impunity predictably follows our tepid response to his previous horrors in Georgia and Crimea, our naive efforts at a one-sided ’reset’ and the shortsightedness of ’America First,’" Romney said in a statement released on social media Wednesday evening.

Romney’s statement hinted at Biden’s attempt to "reset" the relationship with Russia at the beginning of his term, but more aggressively criticized Trump’s "America First" foreign policy.

The Utah senator, and failed presidential candidate, also took a shot at former President Barack Obama who beat him in 2012 for the presidency.

"The ’80s called’ and we didn’t answer," Romney said, referring to a moment in the 2012 presidential debate when Obama dismissed his concerns about the threat that Russia posed to the world.
Under Trump, Putin did not make any additional significant actions against Ukraine, although he annexed Crimea in 2014 under former President Barack Obama’s administration when Biden was vice president.

USA Today - NATO chief calls Russian attack 'brutal act of war'
[USA Today] International condemnation of Russian President Vladimir Putin's pre-dawn attack against Ukraine mounted Thursday, as U.S. and Western allies prepared to impose punishing sanctions against Moscow for a stunning full-scale invasion that global leaders had been warning about for weeks.

The attack threatened to create global upheaval and escalate into the largest military conflict on European soil since the end of World War II.

"This is a brutal act of war," NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Thursday.

Here's what to know about Russia's attack on Ukraine:

  • WHEN DID THE INVASION START? At roughly 10 p.m. ET (5 a.m. in Ukraine), Russian forces began a military operation in eastern Ukraine.
  • HOW DID BIDEN RESPOND: Biden said G7 leaders would convene Thursday morning. He is expected to announce the harshest sanctions possible against Russia at noon ET.
  • HAS PUTIN SAID ANYTHING? Russian president has not made any comments since his declaration of war was televised in Russia. He met with the president of Pakistan at the Kremlin on Thursday.
  • ARE THERE CASUALTIES? Ukraine last reported about 40 people dead from Russian attacks.

Explosions were heard in major cities, including the capital of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odessa. Oleksii Arestovich, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said at least 40 people had been killed and dozens others wounded in the attack so far. Ukrainian authorities said Russian forces had hit military assets and other defense facilities, while footage shared by Ukrainian border guards showed Russian military vehicles moving across the border from Crimea.

Zelenskyy announced Ukraine had cut diplomatic ties with Russia, declaring martial law and offering to issue weapons to anyone who wants to defend the country. Despite pleas to stay home, people in Kyiv were jamming roads to leave.

Global markets plunged and oil prices skyrocketed on news of the invasion, a dramatic escalation after weeks of diplomacy talks failed to defuse the months-long standoff between Moscow and NATO countries over Ukraine's sovereignty.

#6  Jens Stoltenberg is a Norwegian politician who has served as the 13th secretary general of NATO since 2014. A member of the Labour Party

The Labour Party is officially committed to social-democratic ideals. Its slogan since the 1930s has been "everyone shall take part" and the party traditionally seeks a strong welfare state, funded through taxes and duties.

    Controversies
Stoltenberg participated in protest rallies against the U.S. war in Vietnam in the 1970s.[124] In 2011, Stoltenberg said "We sang the chorus, ‘Singing Norway, Norway out of Nato.' It was a hit."[124]
In 2001, Stoltenberg crashed his Labour Party-owned car into a parked car; he then left the premises without leaving a note with his name or number; the damages cost 8000 Norwegian kroner to repair.[125]
In 2002, Stoltenberg admitted to having used cannabis in his youth.[126] He therefore asked the Ministry of Justice and Public Security to evaluate his impartiality in the upcoming government response to the report on drugs by the Stoltenberg Commission, headed by his father, Thorvald Stoltenberg.[127]
In 2011, Stoltenberg received a prize from the UN Foundation for excellent global leadership and Norway's support of the UN. Earlier the same year, Stoltenberg had allocated 150 million Norwegian kroner of the foreign aid budget to the same foundation, which led to criticism.[128] Also in 2011 Stoltenberg got a 380,000 kroner boat as a birthday gift from the Norwegian Labour Party and the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions; the givers also paid the tax for the gift which led to criticism.[129][130]

    Fricking politician.

Huawei has one of its largest research facilities in Moscow, with plans to train 50,000 technicians at five Russian research centers. The Chinese telecom giant is building Russia’s mobile broadband network, but its partnerships in Russia extend to cloud computing, video surveillance and facial recognition, and other artificial intelligence applications.

Russia’s reserves of human capital are formidable. It graduated 445,000 engineers in 2015 vs. 238,000 in the United States. According to the OECD, Russia has about 215,000 electrical engineers, more than America’s 188,000.

Russia always has had superb science—with thinner resources it beat the US into space during the 1950s—but lamentable industrial organization. For the US, the combination of Russian scientific and engineering talent and Chinese industrial organization is a marriage made in hell.

Fortunately for us, both Russia and China are really, really bad at economics, and have been for about a century. So in the next few decades China will take control of Russia’s technology while its own sand foundation crumbles, just like all its ghost cities and the Three Gorges dam.

NRO chief warns satellite operators to ‘secure their systems’ as Ukraine crisis unfolds
[SpaceNews] Scolese said both government and commercial satellites systems are potential targets

As the Ukraine crisis escalates, U.S. National Reconnaissance Office Director Christopher Scolese warned that Russia’s military could target satellites to disrupt communications and GPS services.

“I think we’re seeing pretty clearly that Russia is committed to doing what they want to do in Ukraine, and they want to win,” Scolese said Feb. 23 at the National Security Space Association’s Defense and Intelligence Space Conference.

“So I think it’s fair to assume that, to the extent that they can, and to the extent that they feel it won’t extend the conflict out of their control, that they will extend it into space,” Scolese said.

Scolese said both government and commercial satellites systems are potential targets. “I would tell everybody that the important thing is to go off and ensure that your systems are secure and that you’re watching them very closely because we know that the Russians are effective cyber actors.”

“And, again, it’s hard to say how far their reach is going to go in order to achieve their objectives. But it’s better to be prepared than surprised,” he added.

    • Through the ad, Walked was taking aim at QAnon conspiracy supporter, Republican Lauren Boebert

    • The two- minute long ad sees unsuspecting people crushed by poop while smaller pieces rain down on everyone including children and soft toys

    • 'We are real Coloradans. We deserve a living wage, small government that actually works, and freedom of choice. Instead, we have bulls****.'

    • The ad also sees excrement coming out of a book, cellphone and even sees a man wearing a t-shirt with the letter 'Q' throwing up on a picnic table

    • 'Don't you ever wonder where it's all coming from?' asks Walker, before cutting to a desk that shows it to be Rep. Lauren Boebert

    • A lookalike then uses a firehose to spray more fecal matter around an office

    • 'Colorado needs a bull, not a bullsh*****,' says Walker as he hands out towels to people covered in excrement

    • Boebert is popular among conservative circles for her outspoken defense of gun rights and calling the January 6 riot committee a 'witch hunt'

    • She has become a divisive national figure for her flirtations with conspiratorial conservative thinking

NYT reporter suggests Putin didn't take military action under Trump because he was unpredictable
[FOX] The New York Times' chief White House correspondent said Wednesday on MSNBC it was "a good question" of why Russian President Vladimir Putin engaged in the military operation in Ukraine under the Biden administration, and not under Trump.

Former President Trump said Tuesday that Putin's aggressive actions in Ukraine would never have happened while he was president.

"I know [Putin] very well. Very, very well [and] ... this never would have happened ... had I been in office, not even thinkable," Trump said.

New York Times reporter Peter Baker said, "[Trump] said yesterday ’this wouldn’t have happened when I was president,’ or somehow he was too tough ... It is a good question whether President Trump was volatile enough that President Putin didn’t know how he would react to, you know, something more aggressive in Ukraine."

Russian missile cruisers on battle alert face NATO carriers in Mediterranean
It is Debka so salt as needed but...
[DEBKA] Three Russian guided missile cruisers took up battle positions in the Mediterranean on Wednesday, Feb. 23, opposite the USS Harry Truman, the Italian ITS Cavour and French FS Charles de Gaulle strike groups. For the first time, the consequences of the Ukraine crisis seem to be spilling out of East Europe over to the Mediterranean arena.

The Russian warship array finds the Moskva cruising south of Italy, the RFS Varyag, in the eastern part of the sea and the RTS Marshal Ustinov off the coast of Syria. They are all armed with Sandbox anti-ship cruise missiles, which have the capacity to sink aircraft carriers.

The three-ship Western fleet was boosted this week with four guided missile destroyers, USS Earl Porter, USS Roosevelt, USS Ross and USS Arleigh Burke DDG-51. Adm. Mike Gilday, chief of US Navy Operations, said that the US Navy was prepared to interact with the Russian Navy in the region. “Given this current situation, the chance for miscalculation is greater. That is why we train to a very high standard.”

Closer to Ukraine, the Pentagon released information about the American force ordered to the Baltic region on Russia’s borders, as first announced on Tuesday night by President Joe Biden. These forces include an infantry battalion of 800 troops heading to the Baltics, the repositioning of eight F-35 Lighting II Joint Strike Fighters further east, 20 AH-64 attack helicopters moving to the Baltics region and another 12 AH-64 helicopters heading to Poland.

Syria says three soldiers killed in Israeli strikes near Damascus
[IsraelTimes] State media claims most missiles shot down by air defenses, hours after Israel warns Syrian troops near border that they will be targeted for working with Hezbollah.

Three Syrian soldiers were killed on Thursday morning in an Israeli air strike near the capital Damascus, Syria’s state media said.

The alleged strike came hours after Israel apparently dropped leaflets on Syrian army positions warning that they could be targeted for collaborating with Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah.

"The Israeli enemy carried out an air assault with several missiles," state media SANA reported, adding three soldiers were killed.

There was also unspecified material damage, it said.

It claimed Syrian air defense intercepted most of the missiles in the attack, which occurred about 1:10 a.m.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which has an extensive network of sources in across the country, reported that explosions were heard in Damascus and its suburbs "after the interception of Israeli missiles by the Syrian regime’s anti-aircraft defense."

Video published by SANA purported to show a missile being shot down.

As a rule, Israel’s military does not comment on specific strikes in Syria, but has admitted to conducting hundreds of sorties against Iran-backed groups attempting to gain a foothold in the country.

Early Wednesday morning, Israel allegedly fired surface-to-surface missiles at an observation post and "finance building" near the border town of Quneitra on the Syrian Golan Heights.

Israel later dropped leaflets on the area warning Syrian soldiers that they could be targeted for working with Hezbollah.

"To the leaders and members of the Syrian army, we have warned you and continue to warn you, we will not stop as long as your cooperation with Hezbollah continues" the flyer read.

The flyer named the Hezbollah official that the IDF believes is facilitating the relationship between the Iran-backed terror group and the Syrian military, Jawad Hasham, the son of Hajj Hasham, who leads Hezbollah’s efforts along the Syrian border.

Strikes this month attributed to Israel also targeted a Syrian military post on February 17 and anti-aircraft batteries at the start of the month.
Another Times of Israel article adds:
The flyers, which were written in Arabic and addressed to “Syrian [Arab] Army soldiers,” matched the style of similar leaflets that have been dropped in Syria in the past and included the silhouette of an eagle — the symbol of the IDF’s 210th “Bashan” Division, which is tasked with defending Israel’s frontier with Syria and the Golan Heights. The IDF refused to comment on the matter.

In the pamphlet, the Israeli military appeared to take responsibility for the overnight strikes. The IDF generally does not publicly acknowledge strikes it has carried out in Syria in recent years, under its general policy of ambiguity regarding its efforts against Hezbollah in the country.

“To the leaders and members of the Syrian army, we have warned you and continue to warn you, we will not stop as long as your cooperation with Hezbollah continues” the flyer reads.

The flyer said Syrian soldiers “repeatedly” allowed Hajj Jawad Hashem “to breach the infrastructure of the Syrian army, including… in the finance building and Rwihinah base,” where the overnight strikes took place.

“Those who cooperate with Hezbollah… are targets,” it warns.

The IDF has repeatedly accused Syrian dictator Bashar Assad’s military of actively assisting Hezbollah and warned it against this, both through flyers dropped along the border and through overt, public appeals, in some cases naming the Syrian and Hezbollah officials involved, including officers from Syria’s 90th Brigade and 1st Division.

ISF Foils Three IS Bombings on Shiite Worship Places

"A terrorist group had recruited young Paleostinian men in Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years. It produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. That's three statements. Only the first is subjective....
to carry out major bombing attacks using boom belts" and other munitions, Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi told a presser.

"Three separate targets were to be hit at the same time," the ministry said, in an operation Mawlawi said would have caused a large loss of life.

Lebanon's Internal Security Forces (ISF) said the instructions for the bomb plot came from an IS operative based in the Paleostinian refugee camp of Ain al-Hilweh, who is in touch with fellow Sunni snuffies in Syria.

The instructions were passed to an undercover ISF agent who had successfully managed to infiltrate IS networks in Lebanon.
Indeed? Betcha his name was Mohammed or one of its variants.
On February 7, the ISF agent was instructed to prepare attacks on a Shiite religious compound in the al-Laylaki neighborhood, the Imam al-Kazem compound in Haret Hreik and the al-Nasser mosque in Beirut's Ouzai suburb, the ISF said.

He was given three explosive vests and other weapons to conduct the attacks on February 16, the ISF added.

Beirut's southern suburbs, a stronghold of Hizbullah

According to the ISF, the planned attack by IS was meant to "pay homage" to the group's slain leader Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi, killed in a U.S. raid on his home in rebel-held northwestern Syria last month.
But homage was prevented, by definition with Allah’s approval. Something to ponder while flying high on Captagon

Donald Trump: 'China's going to be next,' will ‘absolutely’ invade Taiwan following Russia-Ukraine crisis
[Yahoo News] Referring to the Russia-Ukraine Crisis, Trump praised Putin as a “genius” and stated that “China is going to be next” under Biden’s watch.

In a recent interview with the conservative talk radio program “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show,” former U.S. President Donald Trump confidently stated that “China is going to be next” and would “absolutely” be going after Taiwan.

He accused the Biden administration of being weak and assured the hosts that an invasion would “never have happened” under his own presidency. Trump also praised Putin as a “genius” for sending Russian troops into Ukraine under the guise of “peace keepers.” He stated, “Here’s a guy who’s very savvy.”

The hosts mocked President Joe Biden’s tweets from two years ago in which he wrote: “I’m the only person in this field who’s ever gone toe-to-toe with [Putin].” They claimed Russian invasions also took place under the Obama administration, suggesting the two leaders had weak positions on foreign policy.

    #1  Trump should quiet down.

Taiwan is an island and an invasion by China is a different kind of conflict than the Russian action in Ukraine.

Also, calling Putin a genius is not very helpful. Yes, it is true that Putin can out think Biden but then so can most 3rd graders.

I doubt there is anything that could have been done(reasonably) to stop Putin from invading Ukraine. The countries share borders and Putin has a well funded modern military. The west could make it hurt more but not prevent the invasion.

Football club bans players who have taken the coronary vaccine
[RESETT] The owner of the Romanian football club Steaua Bucharest has sensationally announced that the club will ban all players who have taken the coronary vaccine.

Gigi Becali - a Romanian businessman and politician - said he no longer allows vaccinated players to play because they "do not have the energy", writes the Daily Mail.

Becali claims that people who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus die in hospital, in contrast to those who do not want to take the coronary injection.

He also claimed that players at Romanian rivals CFR Cluj and Rapid Bucharest are struggling after the players have been vaccinated.

    - You'll laugh, but I may be right. The vaccinated lose their strength. It is scientific, he said according to the Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu, writes Daily Mail.

he also has a clinic that provided free ivermectin for basically anyone that asked for it.
Becali also recently said that Steaua Bucharest striker Claudiu Keseru - who returned to the club in August after six years in the Bulgarian team Ludogorets - can no longer play at a high level because he was vaccinated.

In Romania, only 40 percent of the population has taken the coronary vaccine.

The authorities in the country have stated via a post on Facebook where they write that football players who are corona vaccinated do not lose energy or strength, in response to a statement to Becali.

Canada PM revokes Emergencies Act: 'Existing laws and bylaws are now sufficient'
[NationalPost] Critics and opposition leaders have criticized the measures, particularly those meant to target money and bank accounts allegedly connected to convoy organizers and supporters

Just a day after MPs approved it and potentially hours before being put to vote in the Senate, emergency measures invoked by the Trudeau Liberals last week have been revoked...Even with the occupations ended, the prime minister said the situation was far from over.

"This issue won't just go away," he said, announcing that a parliamentary review of the government's decision to invoke the act would be struck within 60 days.

"We need to constantly work to defend and improve our democracy at home and around the world."

Under Sec. 62 of the Emergencies Act such reviews are mandatory and, according to the legislation, held in private...Section 63 also gives the Governor General the authority to order an inquiry into the circumstances that prompted the invocation of the order and measures taken during the emergency...The Act, which requires passage in both Houses of government, passed muster in the House of Commons on Tuesday in a 185 to 151 vote...As news broke in the Red Chamber that the prime minister was set to revoke the Act, Senators shrugged and went on with their debates...Earlier in the day, some senators said they were still "torn" in choosing how to vote on the extension of the Emergencies Act and it was unclear if the Senate would vote it down....Conservative Senator Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu suggested on Twitter the prime minister decided to revoke the act instead of risking it being voted down by the Senate.

"The Prime Minister knew the Senate would not support him. He chose to back down rather than to admit defeat," wrote Boisvenu in French.
    ...
The vote in the Senate was set to happen after the end of the debates, either Wednesday night or Thursday.

RCMP working to ‘unfreeze’ protesters’ bank accounts, Ottawa says
[TheStar] The RCMP began “sharing information” — related to the end of “unlawful” blockades — with banks and financial institutions as of Monday.

The federal government says the RCMP are working with financial institutions to "unfreeze" bank accounts locked by emergency orders that targeted people who organized, participated in, or donated to the so-called Freedom Convoy blockades.

Isabelle Jacques, assistant deputy minister of finance, told a Commons standing committee Tuesday that the RCMP began "sharing information" — related to the end of "unlawful" blockades — with banks and financial institutions as of Monday that should lead to affected accounts being "unfrozen."

    However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
Jacques said some bank account holders may still be subject to other court orders freezing their assets.

The province of Ontario won an order on Feb. 10 that froze the distribution of funds raised through the American online funding platform, GiveSendGo. And on Feb. 17 a group of Ottawa citizens, businesses, and employees who are suing key organizers of the so-called Freedom Convoy 2022 won a sweeping order to preserve their ability to recover damages.

The class action lawsuit has not yet been certified by a court, but it targets the accounts of individuals, specifically Patrick King, Tamara Lich, Christopher Garrah, Nicholas St. Louis and Benjamin Dichter — all key players in the protests — as well as the corporation "Freedom Convoy 2022 Human Rights and Freedoms" that lawyer Paul Champ said was set up Jan. 30 to collect nearly $11 million that was raised on GiveSendGo. The protesters occupied downtown Ottawa for 24 days after demanding a lifting of Canada’s pandemic restrictions. Police finally broke up the protest on the weekend. Blockades at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor and the border crossing in Coutts, Alta. were removed last week.

The Department of Finance officials said the emergency order issued by the Trudeau government led to between 206 to 210 accounts being frozen, totalling some $7.8 million.

Turkish warplanes bombard Kurd Kommie sites in northern Erbil

Shafaq News/ Turkey's warplanes reportedly bombed as site of the anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the north of the Kurdistan Region's capital city, Erbil, earlier today, Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses told Shafaq News Agency that the Turkish airstrikes targeted PKK sites near Mergahush and Rusour in the sub-district Sidekan, north of Erbil.

The eyewitnesses were not able to discern the nature or the size of damages sustained by the sites.

In July 2015, a two-and-a-half year-long ceasefire broke down, and the almost four-decade-long conflict between Turkish security forces and militants of the PKK, recognized as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU, entered one of its deadliest chapters in nearly four decades.

Since 2016, Ankara has launched a trio of transborder operations against anti-Ankara parties in the Kurdistan Region and northeastern Syria: Euphrates Shield (2016), Olive Branch (2018), and Peace Spring (2019).

At least 16 people of different nationalities were maimed as a result of the attack, the coalition said, adding that three of them were at death's door.

Earlier on February 18, the Arab Coalition destroyed an explosives-laden boat launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis in the south of the red sea.

The coalition added that the boat came from Yemen’s main Red Sea port of Hodeidah.

"The Houthi’s use of Hodeidah port threatens freedom of navigation and global trade," the Arab Coalition said in an earlier statement carried by SPA.

These attacks have invited global condemnation and high-level talks are underway to find a solution to the recurring issue.

The Arab Coalition routinely carry out targeted strikes in Yemen against the Iran-backed Houthi militia to deter the rising wave of violent mostly peaceful acts against Saudi Arabia, and more recently, the UAE.

The coalition maintains that the operations are conducted in line with international humanitarian law.

Constitutional Carry Passes in Alabama House of Representatives
[Breitbart] Constitutional carry legislation, House Bill 272, passed in the Alabama House of Representatives on Tuesday.

The NRA-ILA reports that HB 272 passed by a vote of 65-37 and now moves to the Alabama Senate.

On January 18, 2022, Breitbart News pointed to a report that Alabama Sheriff’s Association director Robert “Bobby” Timmons was reportedly working with Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Moms Demand Action to defeat the constitutional carry legislation bill.

Moreover, 1819 News quoted Timmons explaining his disappointment that the Supreme Court of the United States had not issued a ruling limiting Second Amendment rights to the exercise of self-defense in one’s home.

Timmons told 1819 News that he believes the carrying of a gun ought to require a permit in the same way that driving a car requires a license: “Absolutely without question for public safety just like a driver’s license, you need a driver’s license. If you don’t have a license, you can’t drive. If you don’t have a permit, you can’t carry a concealed gun.”

There are currently 21 constitutional carry states in the Union. Those states are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Blue states consider letting anatomical males into women's prisons, hiding their backgrounds
[JustTheNews] Maryland legislation would copy California, which is being sued by female inmates, while Washington House approves bill in response to leaks about violent male offenders housed with women.

As West Coast states deal with the fallout of putting anatomically male inmates in women's prisons, the East Coast is looking to join the club.

Maryland is considering legislation similar to a California law that lets inmates choose their correctional facility based on self-declared gender identity, an option that concerned even transgender inmates in the Golden State.

A purported draft executive order by President Joe Biden would do the same to federal prisons, prompting GOP Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas to introduce opposing legislation.

One chamber of the Washington State Legislature recently approved the nuclear option to deal with ongoing scrutiny of its transgender transfers: hiding basic information about male inmates, including their reported assaults on women, from the public.

The Women's Liberation Front (WoLF) is active in all three state fights, most recently testifying against the Maryland legislation (HB 453, SB 550) at two committee hearings this month.

The gender-critical feminist group, which defends sex-based rights, emphasized the Maryland proposals contain no exceptions for "male prisoners who have been convicted of rape or domestic assault."

Legal director Lauren Adams told Just the News the legislation isn't getting much attention "even locally." A search of The Washington Post, Baltimore Sun and Capital Gazette, the Legislature's hometown newspaper, found no coverage since the bills were introduced last month.

The legislation tacitly acknowledges that it would make Maryland prisons coed, prohibiting discrimination against inmates on the basis of both sex and gender identity.

Inmates "shall" be housed in men's or women's facilities, and bodily searches performed, based on their "preference." The corrections department can only veto the preference "due to specific and articulable management or security concerns," which must be provided in writing to the denied inmate. "Anatomy" is not a basis for denial.

Incoming inmates would be affirmatively asked for their gender identity and pronouns, and whether they identify as "transgender, nonbinary, or intersex."

Prison staff would be required to let inmates update their gender identity "at any time" upon their request, and use their pronouns in all communications regarding inmates, even when they aren't present.

The predictable results of the legislation are known from California, according to WoLF, which is suing the state on behalf of female inmates on 1st, 8th and 14th Amendment grounds. Anatomical males have assaulted or become sexually active with female inmates, Adams previously told the John Solomon Reports podcast.

Woman II Woman, an advocacy group run by ex-convicts, claimed female inmates had started "sleep schedules so that one woman is always on watch to make sure no one gets raped."

Earlier this month the Washington House approved a bill (HB 1956) that would prevent the public from learning about such violence, though the amended version is substantially shorter than the original.

    Scholarships for "Dirty Jobs"
[Townhall] Mike Rowe Scholarship Highlights the Lost Virtues of Hard Work and Sweat

Several months into her education, Wilson found out about the Work Ethic Scholarship Program from the Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation. The program provides financial support to students enrolled in trade school training programs who have demonstrated a continuing commitment to personal responsibility, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

"I was like, 'Hey, I am a huge 'Dirty Jobs' fan,'" she said of Rowe's wildly popular Discovery Channel show, in which he does every trade job created that makes the clocks, trains, planes, and automobiles run on time and keeps your toilet flushing, too. Rowe made a reality show out of unglamorous yet essential jobs that make everyone's lives safer and more comfortable. He brought to the forefront not just their existence but also the value these jobs have for the people who do them.

For generations, high schools have geared young people to apply to universities and colleges. They have largely ignored and dismissed trades as either beneath them or not part of achieving the American dream.

As a result, many young people obtained expensive degrees that have few job prospects, and their debt lasts them well into their 40s. This has also created a culture that has lost its connection with the value and appreciation of skilled labor and the joy of getting your hands dirty.

"But everywhere I went on 'Dirty Jobs,' I saw 'Help Wanted' signs. It slowly dawned on me that high unemployment did not necessarily stem from a lack of opportunity. I remember being surprised to learn that 2.3 million jobs were open when the unemployment rate surpassed 10%."

When a financial reporter at the Wall Street Journal asked his take on how such a skills gap could exist during times of high unemployment, Rowe shared his theory.

"Much of society had waged a war on work," he said. "And I talked at length about the stigmas and stereotypes that surrounded many of the jobs we featured on the show, along with the myths and misperceptions that keep so many people from exploring a career in the trades."

On Feb. 23, Rowe's scholarship application process opens for 2022. Across the country, there are thousands of Tracy Wilsons out there attending community colleges, trade schools, and apprenticeship programs, eager to show their value, even when so many do not acknowledge it. Wilson encourages anyone who is even remotely considering applying to do it.

"Not just for the money -- which was nice by the way -- but because you also get to experience expressing and understanding the importance of work," she says. "It is a virtue we don't value enough in society, but we can change that one job at a time."
I worked with engineers for 30 years, then with construction dudes for 15. Good folks.

Gantz says photo shows Iran gave Venezuela know-how to make advanced UAVs
Not nearly as exciting as the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, but real life rarely is.
[IsraelTimes] Speaking at the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations meeting in Jerusalem, Defense Minister Benny Gantz reveals a photo that he says proves Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
    has transferred to Venezuela
...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...
the know-how for it to produce advanced UAVs.

"This image shows a model of the advanced Iranian Mohajer UAV, presented by Venezuela’s president. In addition to developing Iranian UAVs in Venezuela, our assessments show that Iranian precision-guided missiles are being delivered for these UAVs and other similar models," Gantz says.

"With this image in mind, I can tell you that in my meetings with partners from around the world, including African and Latin American partners, I heard extreme concern about Iranian support for terrorism," he says.

Speaking on the Iranian nuclear deal, Gantz stresses that if a deal is signed with Iran, this "does not mark the end of the road."

"It opens the door to important action that must be taken," he says, including "stopping the development of ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads."

"Enforcement and supervision by the IAEA are crucial but not enough," Gantz says, adding that "we need to have offensive capabilities and a set of sanctions ready in our back pockets in case Iran violates the agreement."

"Iran truly is a global and regional challenge and not just a threat to the State of Israel," he says.

    Government Corruption
Top prosecutors in Manhattan DA's inquiry into Trump resign
[TheHill] Top prosecutors leading an investigation within the Manhattan District Attorney's Office regarding former President Trump and his business dealings submitted their resignations on Wednesday, just weeks before the term of the probe's grand jury expires in April, The New York Times reported, citing people with knowledge.

After the new Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg signaled pullback about moving ahead with the Trump probe, both Mark Pomerantz and Carey Dunne resigned, those sources told the newspaper.

Bragg was "grateful for their service," a spokesperson for the district attorney told the Times, noting that it was an ongoing investigation. The newspaper noted that it was not immediately clear why Bragg had doubts about the case.

Dunne declined to comment about the matter to the Times, while Pomerantz confirmed to the newspaper his resignation.

    DEVELOPING
Courtesy of Skidmark, Zero Hedge adds:
That said, the pause in grand jury activity in the Manhattan case coincides with the ramping up of NY Attorney General Letitia James' investigation, which is examining some of the same conduct by the former president.

Last week, James received approval from a court to question Trump and two of his adult children under oath, and has filed documents which accuse the Trump Organization of misrepresenting the value of its properties. According to one filing, the company engaged in "fraudulent or misleading" practices. While James lacks the authority to criminally charge Trump, she has the option of suing him.

Trump has denied inflating property values or defrauding lenders - accusing both Bragg and James of being politically motivated "racists."

Trump's accounting firm, Mazars USA, fired the Trump Organization and announced that it would no longer stand behind a decade of Trump's financial statements. That said, Mazars says it has not, "as a whole," found material discrepancies between information provided by the Trump Organization and the actual value of Trump's assets.

That said, even with Mazars' actions, a criminal case is highly unlikely according to the Times. Meanwhile, prosecutors have been unable to convince Trump CFO Alan Weisselberg to cooperate with the investigation.

Deloris Ruddock and the All-Black, All-Female 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion
[Steven Ambrose] During Black History Month, we are happy to once again share Historian Kevin Hymel’s article on Deloris Ruddock and the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion that was originally published in ARMY magazine in January 2021. The 6888th was the only all-female, all-black unit to serve overseas during World War II. Deloris Ruddock was one of the five surviving members of that battalion who attended the dedication of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion monument at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in December 2018. Kevin, who also attended, had the pleasure of speaking with this remarkable woman about her WWII experiences at that time.

On a cold November morning in 2018, crowds of people lined a road at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, cheering and waving small American flags. A parade of cars, led by police and motorcycle escorts, slowly rolled by. Inside the cars were five special guests, smiling and returning the waves. All five were African American women in their 90s who had come to witness the dedication of a monument to their service and a parade seven decades late. All had been members of a unique Army unit, one that had changed the face of the U.S. Army in the waning days of World War II.

The women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion snapped the stereotype that Black women would not serve their country during a global crisis. While their job did not carry much glory—they sorted letters so the letters could find their recipients—these women were pioneers, helping chart the path for future generations and making the Army the diverse reflection of America it is today.

One of those women was Deloris Ruddock, now 97, a native of Washington, D.C. Ruddock was a high school student at Cardozo Business School when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.

"I was too young to have a reaction," she said about learning of the attack that brought the U.S. into World War II.

After her high school graduation, someone recommended she join the Army. Before World War II, Black women were not allowed into the military, but the war brought change. Her father had been deferred from serving, but when she asked about joining, he agreed.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Approves Up to 700 National Guard Troops for Trucker Convoy
[Breitbart] I anticipate another 'furry' vs. Gypsy Biker situation with Pelosi's 'peacekeepers'
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has authorized an order to mobilize as many as 700 National Guard members ahead of an upcoming trucker convoy to the nation’s capital.

The National Guard said in a press statement that Austin approved requests from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) for National Guard assistance with traffic control during “First Amendment demonstrations expected in the city in the coming days.”

“The people who live, work and visit the District are part of our community, and their safety is our first mission priority,” said Maj. Gen. Sherrie L. McCandless, DCNG commanding general, in the statement.

“Our MPD and USCP partners have asked for our help in ensuring people can demonstrate peacefully and safely, and we stand ready to assist,” she said.

Austin approved approximately 400 National Guard members to provide support to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) at designated traffic posts, provide command and control, and cover sustainment requirements along with 50 large tactical vehicles to be placed at those designated traffic posts on a 24-hour basis starting no later than 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, or as “soon as logistically possible.”

The mission is approved through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 7, as Breitbart News previously exclusively reported.

Austin also approved a request from the USCP for assistance for up to 300 National Guard troops from outside D.C. to assist at designated traffic posts and select Capitol entry points starting no later than 7 a.m., on Saturday, February 26.

The statement said Guard members will not carry firearms or take part in law enforcement or domestic-surveillance activities.

The approval does not allow for the use of helicopters or other aircraft by the National Guard or the sharing of equipment with law enforcement agencies, it said.

The DCNG will provide command and control for both missions, although units from outside the District will remain under operational and administrative control of their respective governors.

Breitbart News is told that the states sending National Guard members include West Virginia, Vermont, and New Jersey.

Avakov, Kolomoisky: Russia opens over 400 criminal cases
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[UKRINFORM] The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has initiated more than 400 criminal cases targeting Ukrainian officials, military servicemen, and volunteer fighters who defended Ukraine from Russian occupation, and is setting up a "trial".

This was reported on the Investigative Committee’s website, Ukrinform reports.

Russian detectives brand the persons targeted in the fabricated cases "war criminals whose victims were civilians, including women and children."

The IC accuses the Ukrainian side of "employing prohibited means and methods of waging war" and claims that it has established complicity in crimes on the part of 85 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies.

Among them are former commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine Ihor Voronchenko, ex-commander of the Air Force Serhiy Drozdov, ex-commander of the Airborne Troops Mykhailo Zabrodsky, and others.

Russian investigators plan to "bring to justice" former Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, his ex-deputy Anton Gerashchenko, and ex-Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko, who allegedly "incited terrorism."

According to the IC, former Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Heletey and former Chief of General Staff Viktor Muzhenko allegedly "issued orders to completely destroy the ethnic group of Russian-speaking citizens."

The Russian Investigative Committee is also "charging" the former head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Ihor Kolomoisky and ex-Verkhovna Rada Head Oleksandr Turchynov (without revealing the charges).

Russian investigators accuse commanders of several brigades and the Aidar Battalion of "shelling civilians," claiming that they know by name all members of the "Right Sector" and "Azov" Battalion fighters, who are being accused of "committing violent crimes."

At the same time, accusations are made against Russian citizens who fought on the side of Ukraine at that time.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation added that "the list will be supplemented."

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the “LPR/DPR” puppet statelets and signed the relevant decrees.

At the same time, he accused Ukraine of escalating the situation in Donbas.

On Tuesday, the State Duma and the Council of the Russian Federation ratified agreements with the so-called "LPR/DPR" on friendship and mutual assistance, including military.

The Federation Council also unanimously approved a motion by Russian President Vladimir Putin to use the Russian military abroad.

U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday announced a decision to impose the first package of sanctions against Russia. The European Union has also adopted new sanctions.

Russian FSB thwarts terrorist attack in Crimea, arrests 6
[ALMAYADEEN] The 6 arrested are part of the Ukrainian nationalist Right Sector terrorist organization.

On Wednesday, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said that it has thwarted a terrorist attack in one of Crimea's Orthodox churches, and has arrested 6 Russian citizens.

The citizens, reportedly, are supporters of the Ukrainian nationalist Right Sector organization - a party that is banned in Russia.

"The Russian Federal Security Service prevented a terrorist act in the Republic of Crimea. As a result of the measures taken, we arrested six Russian citizens, who are supporters of Ukrainian extremist organization Right Sector, who were preparing to detonate an improvised explosive device in one of the Orthodox churches in the region in order to intimidate the population," the FSB said in a statement.

The FSB confiscated compartments of an improvised explosive device found with one of the detained men, also finding correspondence with plans and symbols of the party.

Ukraine claims that Crimea is occupied by Russia. However, Crimea became part of Russia after a March 2014 referendum in which 96% of Crimeans voted to rejoin the Russian Federation.

Last month, German Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Kay-Achim Schonbach said that Crimea, despite Kiev’s attempts to pressure Russia, will never return to Ukraine.

"Crimea is gone, and it will never come back," he said at a conference hosted by India's Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses.

As for the countries that want to be part of NATO, the Vice-Admiral said that Georgia meets the criteria for membership, but it joining the alliance is “illogical”, considering how this would impact its relations with Moscow.

Earlier this month, Zelensky stressed that his country would like to join NATO, asserting his belief that it would be a "security guarantee" for Ukraine and saying Kiev was counting on Berlin for entry.

"We count on the support of Ukraine's full membership in the EU. Such a step would be a powerful signal of the geopolitical choice of the Ukrainian people, recognized by our legislation and many countries of the world," he said at a joint press conference with the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz.

Russia has been demanding a written commitment that Ukraine would never be able to join NATO and that the alliance would not place any military equipment in certain countries in the region surrounding Russia.

Moskalkova: Situation in Donbas meets all signs of genocide
[REGNUM] The situation that has developed in Donbass meets all the signs of genocide, which are enshrined in international documents and national legislation. This was stated by the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova.

“It must be admitted that the situation that has developed there meets all the signs of genocide that are enshrined in international documents and national legislation,” RIA Novosti quotes her.
She added that since 2014 there has been a whole chain of events, including the prohibition of payment of pensions and benefits.

Follow the development of events in the broadcast: “Russia recognizes the DPR and LPR. Reaction and comments – broadcast”

As REGNUM reported , on February 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that a genocide was taking place against the Donbass by the Ukrainian authorities.

DPR and LPR asked Putin to help repel Ukrainian aggression
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Rusvasna] The heads of the DPR and LPR Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to help repel the aggression of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to avoid civilian casualties and a humanitarian catastrophe in Donbass.

This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin received letters of appeal from the head of the Luhansk People's Republic, Leonid Pasechnik, and the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Denis Pushilin.

The appeals emphasize that at present, due to the aggravation of the situation and threats from Kiev, the citizens of the Republics are forced to leave their homes, their evacuation to Russia continues.

The actions of the Kiev regime testify to the unwillingness to end the war in the Donbass.

Kiev continues to build up its military presence on the line of contact, while receiving comprehensive support, including military support, from the United States and other Western states.

The Kiev regime is focused on the forceful solution of the conflict.

Taking into account the above, the heads of the two Republics, in connection with the current situation, as well as in order to prevent civilian casualties and a humanitarian catastrophe, on the basis of Articles 3 and 4 of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Republics, ask the President of Russia to assist in repelling aggression Armed forces and formations of Ukraine," he said.

The situation in the Donbass after the recognition of the LPR and DPR by Russia

[REGNUM] The situation in the Donbass escalated to the maximum by February 21: the authorities of the republics reported about the penetration of Ukrainian saboteurs, shells fired by the Armed Forces of Ukraine flew into Russia, border guards liquidated a sabotage group that had penetrated into the Russian Federation, and due to the actions of the Ukrainian army, a significant part of the territory of the DPR was left without water supply.

After the decision of the Russian authorities to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR, the hostilities did not stop - and on February 21, 22, and 23, the Ukrainian army continued shelling the territory of the republics. On the evening of February 23, the heads of the DPR and LPR announced the aggravation of the situation and threats from Kiev and officially appealed to the President of Russia with a request to help repel Ukrainian aggression.

In Kharkiv, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk, the runways of airports were blocked by tractors in order to prevent the landing of Russian troops, says the Older Edda TV channel.
Russians began developing air assault troops in the 1970s to be delivered by parachute of helicopter, in anticipation of just this sort of countermeasure.

US sanctions international network funding Yemen's Houthis
[Jpost] The United States on Wednesday sanctioned a sprawling international network run by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and a Houthi financier that provided tens of millions of dollars to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, the US Treasury said.

The complex web of individuals and front companies shipped fuel, additional petroleum products and other commodities throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia, with the proceeds financing Houthi attacks in Yemen and its neighbors, a Treasury statement said.

The action freezes any assets of the designated entities and individuals that are subject to US jurisdiction and generally bars Americans from doing business with them.

The new designations come as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and some American lawmakers press the White House to return the Houthi movement to the US list of foreign terrorist groups in response to Houthi drone and missile strikes on the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The individuals and firms targeted on Wednesday are part of a network overseen by the Quds Force, the elite arm of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Said al Jamal, a Houthi financier sanctioned last year, the Treasury said.

They included Abdo Abdullah Dael Ahmed, a UAE- and Sweden-based commodities trader, his company, Moaz Abdallah Dael Import and Export, and Konstantinos Stavridis, a Greek businessman based in the UAE, and his firm, Fani Oil Trading FZE, the statement said.

Also designated were money exchange houses in Turkey and Yemen, Aurum Ship Management FZC, based in India, the UAE and Singapore; and its managing director, Chiranjeev Kumar Singh.

    Iraq
Iraqi forces killed five terrorists in Kirkuk

Shafaq News/ On Wednesday, Iraqi F-16s bombarded two ISIS hideouts, where the terrorists are believed to be holed up.

The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Yahya Rasool said that a force of the Counter-Terrorism Service, backed by the Iraqi aircraft, raided two terrorist organization sites in Qoshkaya of Al-Dibs district in Kirkuk Governorate.

The operation was based on intelligence provided by the Global Coalition and the Iraqi Aviation to the Counter-Terrorism Service.

The attack killed five ISIS members and eradicated the two caves. Rasool said.

He added, "The terrorists nicknamed Abu Al-Zubayr, Rimah, Abdul Rahman, Abu Khattab, and Abu Junaid." They were all militants.

Recently, ISIS became more active in Kirkuk, and the Iraqi Army carried out many operations against it in collaboration with the US-led Coalition.

Earlier this month, Iraqi warplanes destroyed a pivotal headquarters of ISIS in Kirkuk.

The Security Media Cell (SMC) said that the Iraqi F-16 fighter jets bombed a site of the terrorist organization in the Zghaytoun valley, southwestern Kirkuk.

"The airstrike was carried out following intel provided by the Counter-Terrorism-Services (CTS) in cooperation with the targets designation panel of the Joint Operations Command," the SMC said.

In 2017, Iraq declared final victory over ISIS after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country, three years after the militant group captured about a third of Iraq's territory.

Yet, ISIS still has sleeper cells in several Iraqi Governorates.

    Britain
UK Urged To Take Action Against 'Golden Visa' Recipients Linked To Russian Government
[ZeroHedge] The UK government has been urged to take action against people granted so-called “golden visas” who have close links to the Kremlin and pose a security risk to the UK, following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s order to send troops into eastern Ukraine.

The main opposition Labour Party has written to Home Secretary Priti Patel demanding answers to a series of questions about the Tier 1 Investor visa route for wealthy foreign investors, which the Home Office decided to scrap last week amid “security concerns.”

The visa, launched in 2008, has often been called a “golden visa,” as it offered residency to those investing £2 million ($2.7 million) or more in the UK, and allowed their families to join them.

There have been a total of 13,213 golden visas issued since the third quarter of 2008, with 564 issued between January and September 2021, according to analysis of Home Office data by the PA news agency.

Since this period in 2008, 2,581 have been issued to Russians, with 55 in the same nine months in 2021.

    Caribbean-Latin America
Mexican President to U.S.: ‘Don't Trust Ted Cruz, He is Crooked'
[Breitbart] President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) told U.S. voters not to trust Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), calling him “crooked” (chueco) and a “busybody” (metiche) during a Tuesday news conference in response to the Texas politician’s recent comments about cartel violence in Mexico.

“Why does he have to get involved?” Lopez Obrador said in Spanish. “I would tell our friends in the United States and our countrymen living over there to consider him a busybody.”

AMLO went on to claim Cruz was interfering in Mexican politics to create discord.

“If [Cruz] wants to be governor, legislator or president, the U.S. people should not consider someone like that,” AMLO said. “Imagine a candidate who interferes with the internal life of another country. Do not trust him, that Ted Cruz — because he is crooked.”

The statements from Lopez Obrador come in response to comments made during a February 16 meeting of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Cruz said the breakdown of civil society and rule of law in Mexico posed a danger to the United States.

“The current climate faced by politicians and journalists in Mexico is the deadliest ever,” Cruz said. “In 2020, more journalist were killed in Mexico than in any other country in the world. It alone accounted for a third of the journalists killed.”

Cruz also stated that since September 2020, 80 politicians have been murdered and 60 candidates dropped out of their races under threats from organized crime.

“President Lopez Obrador seems intent on making all these trends worse,” Cruz said. “On Friday he used his morning press conference to intimidate one of Mexico’s highest-profile journalists, Carlos Loret De Mola. He waved around private financial information and asked authorities to investigate it. He seems to be indulging in abusing power.”

Analyst: Democrats on ‘Suicide Watch' as Biden to Break Illegal Immigration Records, Again
[Breitbart] House and Senate Democrats are on “suicide watch” as President Joe Biden is currently on pace to break his own illegal immigration records, a new analysis suggests.

In 2021, Biden set new records for illegal immigration by enticing more than two million border crossers and illegal aliens to take the often deadly journey through Mexico to the nation’s southern border in the hopes of being released into the U.S. interior.

Steven Kopits with Princeton Policy Advisors accurately predicted last year’s illegal immigration levels under Biden.

“The trend is clearly headed in the wrong direction,” Kopits wrote at the time.

Now, based on January’s illegal immigration levels, Kopits is projecting that Biden will break his own record set last year by bringing 2.1 million border crossers and illegal aliens to the U.S.-Mexico border.

#4  No way on "Suicide watch". This rate of immigration has been their plan since Harry Reed was in charge of the Senate. Democrat plan is to give amnesty in time for the election and fight it out in court after the vote. Biden won't seek reelection and has nothing to lose. He can be everyone's fall guy while the Democrats maintain power.

It's interesting we can't find stories in the press about where all these illegals are settled. They must be going to "friendly" districts. For instance a military installation was chosen in southern Indiana was chosen for Afgan resettlement. Where did all those people go?

Pushilin wants to restore the historical borders of the Republics of Donbass
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Rusvesna] The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that the issue of the Republic of Donbass entering the historical borders of the former Donetsk and Lugansk regions could be resolved “by itself”. However, for the leadership and residents of the Republics, a peaceful path is preferable.

“The situation is such that the issue of the DPR and LPR reaching the historical borders can be resolved by itself, I would like the world to do so,” the Head of the Republic emphasized today during a press conference .

He also noted that so far there is no way to conduct any negotiations with Kiev, since there is no one to talk to.

“So far, it’s not that early to draw up our negotiating positions in detail, there’s just no one to talk to,” Pushilin explained the situation, answering a question from RT Arabic correspondent Maxim Al-Turi about a possible dialogue between the DPR and Ukraine.

“We, within the framework of the Minsk (negotiations - approx. RV), how much did we demand this? Of course, in order for a peaceful settlement to be possible, we just need a dialogue to begin with,” the Head of the Republic noted.

He also added that the Republic is well aware of the types of equipment and weapons of the Ukrainian troops.

“We are well aware of the threat posed by the new weapons that were delivered to Ukraine in the recent period of time,” Pushilin emphasized.
My prediction is that the two republics eventually will merge into one republic called Novorossiya.

As reported by news agency REGNUM , British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said earlier that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly "will not be limited only to Ukraine." In her opinion, the Russian leader is ready to "invade the states of the former USSR, primarily the Baltic countries."

US Army: new recruits more prone to training injuries than previous generations
[DVIDSHUB] Why Today’s ‘Gen Z’ is at Risk for Boot Camp Injuries

For today's generation of 18-to-25-year-olds, making it through recruit training and successfully transitioning from civilian life into the military is not easy.

Today's recruits are coming from a far more sedentary lifestyle compared to previous generations, making their skeletons more prone to injuries because they're not used to the kind of intense activity they will face at basic training.

"The "Nintendo Generation" soldier skeleton is not toughened by activity prior to arrival, so some of them break more easily," said Army Maj. Jon-Marc Thibodeau, a clinical coordinator and chief of the medical readiness service line at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

#7  I believe there are plenty of studies noting that physical work at formative years influences bone, tendon, and muscular development. Otherwise known as, don't arm wrestle anyone who has been stacking hay since they were ten.

Amateur athletes, what we used to call school athletics, has come a long ways, and with some perhaps a bit too tight; you want the guitar string to twing, not snap. They all want to go on to College with that scholarship, maybe make big bucks some day. Takes a good portion of able bodies out of the prime recruiting pool.

Nintendo Generation isn't quite right; they were still outside riding bikes and playing pick-up during the day.

These are the kids born turn of the century, and there are a number of factors which lead to being screen heads, raised by 'Smart Phones" and parents who for whatever reason didn't emphasize as least basic physical conditioning. Remember the scene in WALL-E when the humans were shown as totally out of shape and unable to get away from their screens, or even really think, and everyone giggled because "That Would Never Happen ha ha good one."?

Traffic Deaths Way Up in Washington DC especially in black precincts
[WashingtonPost] Lower-income neighborhoods in the District [of Columbia] recorded eight times more traffic fatalities in recent years than the city's wealthiest area, an analysis shows, as residents call for more enforcement and road improvements following the deadliest year on city streets in more than a decade.

The 40 traffic fatalities in the nation's capital last year were the most since 2007, fueled by what authorities say is a proliferation of unsafe driving during the coronavirus pandemic that reflects an alarming rise in traffic deaths nationwide. The toll has fallen disproportionately on the city's two poorest wards, which contain less than one-quarter of Washington's population but nearly half of its road deaths.
as you might expect, the WaPo and the 'experts' they interviewed say this is because of racism even though the mayor since 2014 is black and the one before that was black and the city council is majority black and the chief Transportation official of the city is black, etc.

    Must.not.post.Joe.Biden.references...
It revealed that in the 30 seconds before and after, the man's brainwaves followed the same patterns as dreaming or recalling memories.

Brain activity of this sort could suggest that a final "recall of life" may occur in a person's last moments, the team wrote in their study, published in Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience on Tuesday.

Dr Ajmal Zemmar, a co-author of the study, said that what the team, then based in Vancouver, Canada, accidentally got, was the first-ever recording of a dying brain.

He told the BBC: "This was actually totally by chance, we did not plan to do this experiment or record these signals."

So will we get a glimpse back at time with loved ones and other happy memories? Dr Zemmar said it was impossible to tell.

Unknown individuals kill young man in Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A young man was shot to death, yesterday, by unknown individuals in the eastern countryside of Daraa, south Syria.

The 22-year-old Omar Abu Safi was killed by unknown persons in al-Harak city, in the eastern countryside of Daraa, a local source told North Press.

“Abu Safi was with three other young men who were survived,” the source said.

Abu Safi was not involved in the military formations of the opposition factions, according to the same source.

Daraa has recently witnessed several killings of former opposition members, who either reconciled with the government forces or rejected reconciliation.

LG Electronics Shutters Alabama Solar Factory Amid ‘Rising Commodity Costs’
[ZeroHedge] Soaring material costs, supply chain constraints, and intensified price competition are some of the reasons why LG Electronics Inc. will shutter its solar factory in Huntsville, Alabama, according to a company press release.

"The decision comes as uncertainties in the global solar panel business continue to increase due to a variety of contributing factors, including the intensification of price competition and the rising cost of raw materials," LG said.

Soaring commodity prices have sent solar-grade polysilicon prices up more than 550% in the last two years. Polysilicon is a critical raw material in producing solar photovoltaic cells for panels.

Other commodity prices have risen, along with soaring labor and freight costs have added to LG's margin compression where it appears solar production has become uneconomical.

The plant was opened in 2019 with 550 megawatts of annual panel output. Panel production is expected to wind down next month and officially shut down at the end of June. Around 160 employees and 60 contract workers will be fired or shifted to other LG manufacturing units.

    -Lurid Crime Tales-
Top Republican: Biden engaging in 'cover-up' of massive pandemic relief fraud
[JustTheNews] Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee, accused Democrats and the Biden administration of attempting to cover up massive pandemic relief fraud.

"Right now our Democrat colleagues are continuing to turn a blind eye to what's possibly the greatest theft of American taxpayer dollars in American history," Brady said on Tuesday during a briefing on the estimated $80 billion of pandemic unemployment payment fraud.

"Faced with billions of dollars lost to unchecked unemployment fraud involving organized cybercrime and international crime rings, Democrats have ignored repeated calls for congressional oversight hearings," he added.

Stimulus funding was needed in the early days of the pandemic when the economy shut down, but the continuation of most relief programs into late 2021 led to increased fraudulent activity, Brady argued.

"It was necessary to help the jobless, but these programs lingered and became one of the most flawed and wasteful recovery efforts ever enacted by the federal government," said the Texas Republican. "In fact, total state and federal spending on enhanced pandemic unemployment benefits exceeded $850 billion in less than two years. These programs have stunted our economic growth and worsened the labor shortage, resulting in the highest inflation in 40 years."

Brady noted that lawmakers still "don't know how much of the taxpayers' dime has been lost to fraud."

"At the low end, the White House estimates nearly $80 billion has been lost to fraud last year, but outside experts put that number much higher, estimating that criminal fraudsters have stolen $400 billion from American taxpayers — that's half of all the COVID unemployment aid," he said. "And put another way, $400 billion is more than the entire 2021 budgets of the Army and the Navy combined. And yet Democrats have the nerve to say that Americans need to pay more in taxes."

The unprecedented level of stolen pandemic relief has led to increased identify theft victims, Brady said.

"Last year, when congressional Democrats rammed through the partisan $1.9 trillion so-called COVID stimulus, which drove inflation, by the way, in a major way, our colleagues rejected numerous Republican amendments that would have targeted relief and prevented fraud," Brady said.

"Now, the Biden administration has taken unilateral action to sweep suspected fraud under the rug, allowing states to waive large numbers of suspicious claims and forego recovery and restitution for taxpayers," he added. "This is a cover-up from the Biden administration on an issue that has cost American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. Enough is enough, it's time for Congress to go after fraudsters and recover the dollars that have been lost."

Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee have introduced the Combating COVID Unemployment Fraud Act.

According to Brady, the bill focuses on "preventing fraud on the front end, supporting the clawback of privately paid dollars and providing relief to victims of unemployment fraud and identity theft."

Brady argued that the bill would end the "pay and chase models" of public benefits by "emphasizing identity verification, and putting in place digital identity proofing services before we give out the benefits."

Brady warned that the Democrats' "dysfunctional IRS" is not prepared to help Americans who may only have just learned they are fraud victims.

"I worry economic growth has peaked for this presidency, and we are entering a wage price spiral that will drive inflation higher and longer for Americans," he said. "There is simply too much at stake not to act."

Under the CARES Act, Congress allowed self-employed individuals to apply for unemployment benefits for the first time, which experts say opened the floodgates for fraudulent claims. The supplemental federal unemployment bonus payments were continued through late 2021 under President Biden's $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act.

Indiana Republican Rep. Jackie Walorski said the White House has estimated about 19% of all pandemic unemployment claims were improperly paid out.

"And that's only a partial estimate," she said. "The truth is we don't know the size and scope of unemployment fraud or the full extent of federal law enforcement officers' efforts to prosecute and recover funds. Democrats simply aren't interested in fulfilling their responsibility to investigate the funds and in the federal programs."

both the CARES ACT of 2020 and of 2021 were passed under Trump. The latter was signed in late Dec 2020.

    • Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed that the Ukrainian people will 'fight back' if Putin invades

    • Ukraine was earlier on Wednesday placed on a war footing with state of emergency declared; 200,000 military reservists called up; border areas restricted and citizens given right to arm themselves

    • Boris Johnson pledged more British weapons to help defend Ukraine, and tougher sanctions if Russia attacks Putin gave sabre-rattling speech to troops, praising their 'readiness' and boasting of 'advanced' weapons

    • Video footage appeared to show clouds of smoke rising up into the night sky near Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, but it was unconfirmed whether it was as a result of shelling

Ukraine conflict: Russia announces special military operation in Donbas
[BCC] Russian President Vladimir Putin has launched a "special military operation" in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region.

In a televised address, he urged Ukrainian soldiers who are facing off Russian-backed rebels to lay down weapons and return to their homes.

Mr Putin said Russia did not plan to occupy Ukraine, but warned that Moscow's response would be "instant" if anyone tries to take on Russia.

Ukraine said that "Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine".

In a tweet, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote: "Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under strikes. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win. The world can and must stop Putin. The time to act is now."

Reports are now coming of explosions in several Ukrainian cities, and gunfire near main Boryspil airport in the capital Kyiv.

US President Joe Biden said Washington and its allies would respond in a united and decisive way to "an unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces" on Ukraine.

"President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering," Mr Biden said. "The world will hold Russia accountable."

In a last-ditch attempt to avert war shortly before Mr Putin's announcement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia could start "a major war in Europe" and urged Russian citizens to oppose it.

Mr Zelensky said Russia had almost 200,000 troops and thousands of combat vehicles on Ukraine's borders.

Russia is launching its military operation just days after recognising the self-proclaimed people's republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine.

The breakaway regions - who control large swathes of the Donbas region - later asked Moscow for military support.

In his announcement, Mr Putin said the military operation's objective was to defend those people who had been subjected for eight years to "genocide by the Kyiv regime".

It was an apparent reference to mass street protests in Ukraine that ousted Pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych in 2014.

Mr Putin also said that Moscow would seek "demilitarisation and denazification" of Ukraine.

Mr Putin has repeatedly accused the US and its allies of ignoring Russia's demands to prevent Ukraine from joining Nato military alliance and offer Moscow security guarantees.

On Wednesday, Ukraine's state of emergency was overwhelmingly approved by lawmakers, and is now in force nationwide.

It introduces personal document checks, blocks military reservists from leaving the country, bans mass gatherings and places restrictions on radio communication systems. Kyiv's mayor said checkpoints would be set up in roads into the city, and access to government buildings would be restricted.

    #28  Situation at 5 pm.

Despite the massive strikes with rockets and aviation across Ukraine, the Armed Forces are doing an effective resistance. Russians' hopes for the lack of resistance and air force did not justify. Loud statements about the complete destruction of the Ukrainian air defense and air force, simplified by real combat actions.

Our pilots are performing combat flights, and Russian aviation is forced to recognize losses.

On earth Russia is trying to destabilize Ukrainian defense. Separate battalion tactical groups are trying to wage a maneuverable war, to push for maximum distances to disrupt our communications. Russians are trying to avoid contact fights. When they meet the resistance, they try to bypass the knots of resistance.

Key border regional centers of Kharkiv, Sumy, the capital of Kyiv, successfully defeated the first Russian attacks. The Russians are trying to create a threat from the back of big cities, so they are moving fast without covering the flanks. Suddenly the enemy failed to capture these big cities.

This creates an opportunity for defense to attempt by maneuverable combat groups to beat Russian columns that go along the highways.

The most difficult situation is now looking south.

Ukraine receives the necessary intelligence information, military management works.
Russia is trying to destroy all resistance nodes and firearms, ammunition warehouses. They create a threat for Kiev to take hostage the multi-million capital and thus force the leadership to surrender on Russian conditions.

But the desperate resistance of the Ukrainian army gives us time to get new help from our partners.

We are all one today around our state, our army, our Homeland. We will be together in this time.

Putin doesn't want to occupy. He wants to upend the Nazi social culture that has taken hold in Ukraine. He wants an independent Ukraine without a military force, that Russia would be as her security guarantor.

It is a complex thing he is trying to accomplish.

#52  Javelin can be top down or direct attack, depending on the user selection. They built a steel rack above their tanks to get the charge to go off and explode before it hit the top of the tank. Didn't work, Javelin pierced the steel rack and exploded as designed.

And not a good plan to take heavy losses for whatever reason, especially with Russia's demographic problem.

#59  From Russian military blogger Andrey Chervonets:

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

At the moment, Ukraine has lost its military fleet, almost the entire air defense system, with the exception of MANPADS. The runways have been put out of action, the “mosquito fleet” has been destroyed, and the information warfare troops have ceased to exist. The Security Service of Ukraine burns documents in a panic, and command and control of the troops is completely disrupted.

But the talking heads in Ukraine still continue to say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are winning

As a result of Russian strikes, 83 ground facilities of the military infrastructure of Ukraine were disabled, two Ukrainian Su-27s, two Su-24s, one helicopter and four Bayraktar TB-2 drones were shot down, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

Confirmed losses in equipment are: one T-80 tank on the district of Kharkov, two to three MTLB armored personnel carriers, two Tigers (T-72) personnel left the damaged vehicles), two Ka-52 (1, 2), one Su-25 (non-combat loss, on the territory of the Russian Federation)

Strength: two dead. Ukrainian media disperse information about the capture of a group of Russian servicemen from a reconnaissance platoon. Well, if they were ambushed, I don’t see anything reprehensible here. The main thing is that they are alive and will be exchanged in any case.

From the last broadcast, the information was confirmed that the North Crimean Canal blocked by Ukraine was unblocked and the water went through the canal to the Crimea. What appeared confirmation video.

The information about the capture of the airfield in Gastomel by Russian troops was confirmed. Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to knock out paratroopers, Ukrainian artillery is working

Sumy apparently became the first regional center occupied by Russian troops. Russian tanks entered the center. In this direction, the Russian units took control of Konotop and Baturin. The further goal is the capture of Poltava and the dissection of the northwestern grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine into two parts.

In Akhtyrka, Sumy region, a convoy of the Russian Armed Forces was attacked from the window of a high-rise building. Waited. I had to fire back. The attackers were destroyed by a point shot.

Russian troops did not take Odessa. Only the port is captured. It can be assumed that a landing of a Russian strike force in the port should be expected at night.

Helicopters fly over Dnepropetrovsk. Whose - is still unknown.

A column of Russian armored vehicles was found on the outskirts of Melitopol (this city from Crimea is "to the right")

Chernobyl under the control of the RF Armed Forces is just the best guarantee of security for both Ukraine and Europe ...

At night, a march will probably take place with the encirclement of large cities and the capture of important objects. Tomorrow we should expect news from Kherson and Kharkov, but denser news about Kiev and the appearance of the first news about Poltava, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye and Mariupol.

Newsweek: US authorities expect the Ukrainian capital to be captured by Russian forces within 96 hours.

The well-known Svidomo and Maidan patriot Aleksey Goncharenko, in order to maintain the low morale of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is busy spreading outright fakes.

A video about the destruction of a column of tanks from Bayraktar in Syria two years ago, he passed off as "the destruction of tanks of the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Russian Federation from a Ukrainian drone."

At the same time, he knew that this was a fake, since the video was purposefully mirrored horizontally so that there was less likelihood of his identification. But he underestimated the people, they identified.
