The former President suggests, in an explosive documentary seen by DailyMailTV, that he had the fling with the ex-White House intern while he was in office because it helped with his own issues.

But the part about the Lewinsky affair - which the political couple rarely address in public - will likely be the most scrutinized.

The scandal led to Bill being impeached in 1998. But he survived the trial in the Senate and remained in office during his second term.

The last time Bill spoke about the scandal was in 2018 and it backfired spectacularly because he said that he did not owe Lewinsky a private apology.

This time he went through in great detail, at times appearing emotional as he talked about the moment he finally came clean to his wife.

His hand was forced in 1998 when it became apparent he had lied to a grand jury investigating his personal affairs by denying the affair.

Bill had also denied it to Hillary - and she believed him.

He said in the interview: 'I went and sat on the bed and talked to her. I told her exactly what happened, when it happened. I said I feel terrible about it. We've been through quite a bit in the last few years. I said I have no defense, it's inexcusable what I did'.

Hillary tells the cameras: 'I was just devastated. I could not believe it. I was so personally just hurt and I can't believe this, I can't believe you lied.'

Mechanic gets 3 years for sabotaging American Airlines plane in Miami
[NY Post] A former American Airlines mechanic was sentenced to more than three years in prison for tampering with a plane packed with 150 passengers set to take off to the Bahamas.

Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani, 60, was sentenced to 37 months behind bars Wednesday after pleading guilty in December to using a piece of foam to sabotage a Boeing 737 at Miami International Airport because he was upset over the airline's stalled union contract negotiations, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida.

Alani, a naturalized citizen originally from Iraq, had admitted to federal investigators that he doctored the plane's air data module system – which relays critical data like aircraft speed and pitch to pilots – in a bid to obtain more overtime work, court documents show.

The mechanic insisted to federal air marshals that he intended "not to cause harm to the aircraft or its infidels passengers."

Alani, of Tracy, California, used super glue to hold the foam in place prior the flight's scheduled take off, which was ultimately aborted. None of the 150 passengers or flight crew on the jetliner were injured since the plane never got off the ground, prosecutors said.

A judge found no evidence that Alani had links to ISIS, allegations that arose in September after prosecutors said they found terror propaganda videos on his cellphone.
"Nothing to see here. Go about your business, citizen"
"The indictment doesn't charge anything related to terrorism or terrorist activity," US District Judge Marcia Cooke said during Alani's sentencing in Miami. "I don't see anything."

Federal investigators ultimately found "no linkage" between Alani and extremist groups, Assistant US Attorney Randy Hummel said.

[American Thinker] Whoopi Goldberg's opinions reach and influence many female voters. Yesterday, she revealed herself to be an ignorant phony, claiming that the wife of Democrat frontrunner Joe Biden is a "helluva doctor ... an amazing doctor" and ought to be considered for surgeon general in the future Biden administration that she hopes for.

Unfortunately for her, Goldberg was taken in by the former SLOTUS of the Obama administration insisting on being addressed as "Dr. Jill Biden," based on her earning a doctorate in education from the University of Delaware in 2007. (Her dissertation was titled, "Student Retention at the Community College: Meeting Students' Needs.")

Here is a bit of inside baseball from academia. Doctor Biden does not have a Ph.D.; she has a degree known as a "doctor of education," an Ed.D. Holders of this credential are expected to be practitioners, not scholars who create new knowledge. Within the extremely status-conscious world of academics, it is regarded as a lesser credential, one often acquired mid-career (as was the case with Jill Biden) because school systems pay more for staff with master's degrees and even more for doctorate-holders.

Pentagon signs contract to produce more US Javelins for Ukraine
[American Military News] The U.S. Defense Department has signed a new contract for the production of Javelin anti-tank missile systems for partner countries, including Ukraine, Ukrinform reported on March 3.

The U.S. Army contract is dated February 28, is worth more than $18 million, and was awarded to Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, with work to be performed in Arizona.

The category of the award is for "guided missile and space vehicle manufacturing."

The beneficiary countries listed as part of the award include Georgia, Ukraine, Australia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Indonesia, Ireland, Jordan, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates.

The State Department in October approved the sale of $39.2 million in military equipment to Ukraine, including a second batch of Javelins, the world’s most effective anti-tank missiles, to help Kyiv in its ongoing six-year war against Russia-backed separatists.

The deal reportedly included 150 Javelin missiles and 10 launch units, adding to the 210 missiles and 37 launchers that Ukraine bought from the United States in 2018.

"The order was handed down by provincial party committees to local people's committees, Ministry of State Security offices, police stations, military-run factories run by the Second Economic Committee [of the Workers' Party of Korea], and even orphanages," a North Hamgyong Province-based source told Daily NK on Feb. 26.

"This is the first time the party has handed down an order for these organizations to prepare a months' worth of food. It's particularly noteworthy because North Korea isn't facing the threat of war," the source continued.

Karachi Bound Chinese Ship Carried Dual-Use Equipment for Nukes
[OpIndia] The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has confirmed that an industrial autoclave seized from the Chinese ship Dai Cui Yun could have been used for the manufacture of nuclear-capable long-range ballistic missiles or satellite launch rockets, reports WION.

Last month, India had detained a Karachi bound Chinese ship. It has now emerged that the Chinese ship was carrying nuclear-capable equipment to Pakistan. The ship was detained by Customs at Kandla Port while en-route to Port Qasim, Karachi, on February 3 on the basis of an intelligence tip-off.

The ship had left Jiangyin Port on Yangtze river in China’s Jiangsu province on January 17, 2020, and was bound for Port Qasim in Karachi, Pakistan when it was intercepted at Kandla port on an intelligence tip-off. Port Qasim is in Karachi, Sindh, where Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), responsible for Pakistan’s ballistic missile programme is based.

Later, the ship was allowed to proceed to the Pakistani port on February 20 after the dual-use (civilian and military) equipment was seized. The autoclave was wrongly declared as an industrial dryer.

However, analysts at DRDO have now confirmed that the ship was carrying nuclear technologies from China to Pakistan.

"The autoclave can be used for the manufacture of the motor of very long-range missiles, with range upwards of 1,500 kilometres or even in the construction of a motor for the launch of satellites. Pakistan has the Shaheen-II missile in the 1,500-2,000 kilometre range and the platform was tested last May," said one of the officials to Hindustan Times.

According to DRDO’s technical experts, the seized 18-metre by 4-metre autoclave can indeed be used in the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) platforms. An autoclave is a pressure chamber which carries out various industrial and scientific processes. Prima facie, it can be used for civilian as well as military purposes.

With nuclear scientists at DRDO confirming that the Chinese ship was indeed carrying nuclear equipment to Pakistan, the customs can now seize the cargo and charge the vessel and its owners for violations of Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) export regulations.

Further, it is now up to India’s national security decision-makers to invoke the Weapons of Mass Destruction and Their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act 2005 as well as inform the UN under the WMD Convention to expose the nuclear proliferation nexus between Beijing and Islamabad.

Trump Solves Problem Caused by Obama-Era Regulation Which Was Stalling Ability to Test for Coronavirus
[Red State]- One of the issues that has been encountered with addressing the coronavirus has been a problem with testing.

...one of the reasons that testing on a state level has been stalled was actually because of an Food and Drug administration regulation instituted by Barack Obama.

The regulation demanded that state run laboratories could only use medical tests approved by the FDA.
And we all know how long FDA course of approval takes
...Commissioner Stephen Hahn first addressed the testing problem on Saturday by issuing new guidance that would allow the state labs to conduct not-yet-approved coronavirus testing on patients in response to the public health emergency. In return for skirting the Obama-era regulation, laboratories must apply for an F.D.A. review of the new test, document the test’s accuracy and notify the F.D.A. of the test’s validity prior to F.D.A. completing the approval process.

President Obama openly ran his administration with his phone and pen, not bothering to wait for Congress to pass actual laws in many cases, and his bureaucrats effected behavioural changes in their targets by issuing “Dear Colleagues” letters advising them of what was expected of them. So in many cases there are no actual issued regulations to look up in the records, just an observable change out in the real world where non-compliance led to harassment from the authorities — to include the IRS. Three examples that spring to mind are the slow-walking of TEA Party and pro-Israel IRS applications for registration as non-profit groups along with a variety of harassments aimed at the leaders of the groups; the institution at colleges and universities of new definitions of s3xual harassment, and the procedures for in-house trials and expulsions of male students based on them; and, oddly, the definition of even ditches and transient mud puddles on farms as bodies of water under the jurisdiction of whichever federal department regulates public lakes and rivers, requiring farmers’ compliance with all the regulations around actions and record-keeping, no matter how absurd.

The recent spread of the coronavirus is causing a global panic. Our shared terror arises not so much from the death toll of the new flu-like disease -- more than 3,000 people have died worldwide -- but from what we don't know about it.

Experts at least agree that the virus originated in China. But Beijing's authoritarian government hid information about its origins, spread and severity for weeks.

Such duplicity only fanned the fears of a global plague -- a hysteria not seen since the groundless fears of a YK2 global computer meltdown in the year 2000, or the political feeding frenzy during the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

...The method of the contagion has been perplexing to experts. Why is the mortality rate for infected patients in Iran roughly double that of patients in countries such as South Korea, Italy and Japan? Why have almost no children under 10 died from the infection?

Are governments unable (or unwilling) to count the infected, given the similarities in symptoms between the coronavirus and various colds and flus? Does such uncertainty suggest that we are undercounting the number of people sickened or killed by coronavirus?

Or are we instead overestimating its dangers? Thousands of patients may have already recovered from mild cases -- and perhaps never knew they were sick in the first place.

Evidence suggests that only about 2 percent of patients will die after infection. As in the case of other viral illness, the unfortunate victims are mostly elderly people with existing illnesses. Does that pattern suggest the coronavirus may be more like annual influenza outbreaks -- deadly to thousands but hardly the stuff to shut down a global economy?

...History also reminds us that nature remains unforgiving. We may live in the age of the Internet, smartphones and jet travel, but viruses are indifferent to so-called human progress.

Modern life squeezes millions into cities as never before. Jet travel, with its crowded planes and airports, can spread diseases from continent to continent in hours.

Globalization is a two-edged sword. It may enrich billions of people, but the leveling effects of instant communication and travel can spread disease at a speed undreamed of in the past.

The dissemination of sophisticated Western science to non-Western societies that lack advanced research centers may be increasingly suicidal. Borders are now considered passe in the age of globalization. But their enforcement reminds us that not all nations are alike. All sovereign peoples should have the right to take measures for their own safety well beyond the purview of the transnational elites.

Last evening dining out with friends, one of their uncles, who's graduated with a master's degree and who worked in Shenzhen Hospital (Guangdong Province, China) sent him the following notes on Coronavirus for guidance:
1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.
4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it.
7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
10. Can't emphasise enough - drink plenty of water!
THE SYMPTOMS
1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.
3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.

#9  #3 good information. I will add that to my collection. Stores are having a run on a variety of products. Wipes sold out completely at our local Walmart. Being prepared is a good idea. Cool head is advisable. We are entering a period of strong airborne irritants, pollen and so on. A cough or sneeze will draw attention. Two units housing inmates are on isolation status. Two DOJ juvenile camps are on isolation status. Flu like symptoms. Most seem to recover. Those who are compromised medically speaking perhaps not so fortunate. Going to the hospital will be interesting when you have been out of the country. Right then you are taken to get blood sample. You will not be with other people as you wait for results. People will not cooperate. They go about oblivious to safety precautions.What I don't understand is they say it will end when the weather gets warm. Usually when we have a freeze these viruses die off. I guess this bug likes cold and is sensitive to what, 80-90 degree temperatures. Good luck all.

Cyprus Detains Syrian after Migrants Brought to Shore
[AnNahar] A 22-year-old Syrian man is in police custody suspected of people smuggling after Cypriot authorities brought 101 Syrian migrants safely to shore, police said Wednesday.

He was arrested on Tuesday after Cyprus marine police located the Syrians off the Cape Greco region in a crowded 15-meter (49 foot) craft and towed the boat to a fishing shelter in Paralimini on the south-east coast.

On Wednesday the suspect appeared before a court in Paralimini and was remanded in police custody for eight days on suspicion of helping migrants enter the country illegally for profit, a police spokesman said.

Head of the police operation Petros Zeniou said the migrants were checked by health workers for coronavirus before being brought to shore for processing.

Among the migrants were 43 children -- nine of them unaccompanied -- and 13 women, including four who were pregnant.

The Syrians -- mainly from the northern regions of Idlib and Aleppo -- were sent to a reception center outside the capital Nicosia.

Zeniou said the boat set off from Mersin in Turkey, a route often used by people smugglers bound for Cyprus.

He said an initial police investigation indicated the migrants had paid between 2,000-4,000 dollars each to make the journey by boat from Turkey.

"We are on the alert, there is certainly information that more boats are likely to depart from Mersin," said Zeniou.

The Republic of Cyprus, an EU members, says it is on the frontline of the Mediterranean migration route with the highest number of first time asylum seekers per capita.

Cypriot Interior Minister Nicos Nouris said on Tuesday that there were 17,000 asylum applications pending.

But Cyprus, located 160 kilometers (100 miles) from the Syrian coast, has not seen the massive inflow of migrants experienced by Turkey and Greece.

[LA Times] KIRKLAND, Wash. ‐ Parents keep their children inside. Few people shake hands anymore. More than two dozen firefighters remain in quarantine. Restaurants and hair salons are close to empty.

Such is life in Kirkland, Wash., the suburb just east of Seattle known for its folksy downtown and spectacular lakefront views, but now above all as the U.S. epicenter of COVID-19.

Of the 11 U.S. deaths from the coronavirus epidemic, eight were residents of a local nursing home that is struggling to care for others who may have been infected. An additional death occurred at a Kirkland hospital.

"I can’t kiss my kids," said Hamid Dabbaghian, a 48-year-old cashier at the Kirkland Whole Foods who recently moved here from Iran and feared catching the virus from customers. "As a newcomer to the U.S., I’m worried about my family, and worried that if I die, what will they do."

Others in this city of 90,000 remain nonchalant or fatalistic, expressing sympathy for those who have died but determination to carry on.

"It’s not the Holocaust. It’s not Armageddon," said Doug Evanson, 57, an Uber driver who frequently drops healthcare workers at the nursing home. "I don’t get why I need to go out and buy cases of drinking water when I can just turn on the tap."

Kirkland is an upscale suburb on the east shore of Lake Washington, with sunset views over the water and the tops of Seattle towers beyond. Its downtown features art galleries, whimsical sculptures, a marina and a Little League baseball field.

Like many cities in the area, it’s undergoing rapid growth and gentrification, with condominium construction and rising real estate prices. It has a Google campus and Northwest University, a Christian liberal arts school.

Saudi Arabia suspends 'umrah' pilgrimage over coronavirus fears
[AlAhram] Saudi Arabia on Wednesday suspended the year-round "umrah" pilgrimage over fears of the new coronavirus spreading to Islam's holiest cities, an unprecedented move that raises fresh uncertainty over the annual hajj.

The kingdom said the suspension was provisional, but with the umrah attracting millions of people annually, the decision has a huge potential impact.

The Gulf state has decided "to suspend umrah temporarily for citizens and residents in the kingdom", the interior ministry said in a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency.

They were also barred from "visits to the Prophet's mosque in Medina", according to a foreign ministry tweet.

The move comes after authorities, alarmed over the spread of coronavirus across the Middle East, last week suspended visas for the umrah and barred citizens from the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council from entering Mecca and Medina.

Saudi Arabia on Monday confirmed its first case of new coronavirus after one its citizens who had returned from COVID-19 hotspot Iran tested positive.

The umrah, which refers to the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca that can be undertaken at any time of year, attracts millions of Muslims from across the globe each year.

The decision to suspend the umrah comes ahead of the holy fasting month of Ramadan starting in late April, which is considered a favourable period for pilgrims to perform it.

- LOGISTICAL CHALLENGE -
The holy sites, which draw millions of pilgrims every year, are a key revenue earner for Saudi Arabic.

Around two-thirds of the 18.3 million umrah participants in 2018 were citizens and residents of the kingdom, according to government statistics.

It is unclear how the coronavirus will affect the hajj, due to start in late July.

Some 2.5 million faithful travelled to Saudi Arabia from across the world in 2019 to take part in hajj, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.

The event is a massive logistical challenge for Saudi authorities, with colossal crowds cramming into relatively small holy sites, making it vulnerable to contagion.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's Vision 2030 reform plan seeks to decouple the kingdom's economy -- the world's top crude exporter -- from oil dependency towards other sources of revenue, including religious tourism.

The government had hoped to welcome 30 million pilgrims to the kingdom annually by 2030.

Brexit: Trade Secretary Tells World Trade Organization, ‘Britain Is Back'
[Breitbart] International trade secretary Liz Truss has declared at the World Trade Organization that "Britain is back", vowing to help reform the body.

The Secretary of State for International Trade was the first British minister to address the WTO’s General Council since leaving the EU, with Brexit Britain taking a seat as an independent nation in her own right at the council for the first time in early February.

Ms Truss told the WTO on Tuesday that countries must work together to reform the body, criticising unfair trading practices, protectionism, "industrial subsidies, state-owned enterprises and forced technology transfer".

Speaking in Geneva, Switzerland, she told the other 164 ambassadors from around the world that the UK’s vision is to update the WTO rulebook to tackle unfair practices, ensure the organisation works for all nations by "seeking a fairer deal for developing countries", and push back against protectionism.

"The UK will, like every other sovereign country, assert its ability to set its own laws and regulations in line with our WTO commitments, reflecting our own circumstances and ideas, while working tirelessly alongside other WTO Members to drive reform," the international trade secretary said.

Alleged Belgian airstrikes target Hezbollah site, Syrian airport
[Jpost] Syrian air defenses responded to attacks allegedly launched by Israel in southern and central Syria on Wednesday night, according to Syrian state news agency SANA. The Step News Agency reported that the airstrikes in Homs targeted a site belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist group and the Dabaa Military Airfield.

The attack was reportedly launched by Israel from over Lebanese airspace and the Golan Heights, according to SANA, and targeted Homs and the Quneitra region of southwestern Syria. The Syrian military told SANA that Syrian air defenses successfully prevented any of the rockets from hitting their targets.

Homs is nearly 125 miles (about 200 km) away from the Golan Heights.After the strikes overnight, the airspace above the Golan Heights east of the Jordan River was closed to civilian flights over 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) for the next three days. Israel did not claim responsibility for the airstrikes.

The airstrikes come just days after the IDF thwarted an attempted sniper attack along the Syria-Israel border in the Golan Heights on Monday as Israelis voted in the 23rd Knesset elections.
The Times of Israel adds:
SANA quoted a military source saying that at 12.30 am on Thursday (2230 GMT Wednesday) “our air defense observed Israeli warplane movement… several missiles were fired towards the central region.

“The hostile missiles were immediately dealt with, and were successfully confronted, none was able to reach its target.” Syria routinely and falsely claims to have intercepted Israeli missiles.

Israel has attacked the T-4, or Tiyas, air base near Homs on multiple occasions. Israeli defense officials have previously claimed the base is being used by Iranian forces as part of the Islamic Republic’s efforts to entrench militarily in Syria, something Israel has vowed to prevent.

Turkey Downs Syrian Jet as Moscow Warns Ankara
[VOA] ISTANBUL - Turkish forces shot down a Syrian warplane in Syria's Idlib province Tuesday, in an escalation of Turkey's military offensive against Syrian government forces. Ankara's assault is in retaliation for the killing of 34 Turkish troops in an airstrike blamed on Damascus.

The fighting increases the threat of confrontation between Turkish and Russian forces, a danger the Russian and Turkish presidents will be seeking to avoid when they meet Thursday. Russia backs Syria's government offensive near the Turkish border.

Turkey's military campaign is showing little sign of abating, with the third Syrian fighter downed by the Turkish Air Force since Sunday. The Turkish Defense Ministry said Tuesday that in the past 24 hours, more than 300 Syrian soldiers were killed and more than a dozen tanks, armored vehicles and missile systems were destroyed.

The Turkish offensive is centering on Idlib, the last rebel stronghold, which Syrian forces, backed by Russian airpower, are fighting to capture. Ankara's ongoing offensive is expected to continue at least until Thursday, when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan meets Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

"The Turkish aim is to reverse the gains the Syrian regime has been making in Idlib over the last few weeks," said Asli Aydintasbas, a senior fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations.

"So that Mr. Erdogan could go to his meeting with Vladimir Putin on the 5th of March with a stronger hand," Aydintasbas said.

Bengal man sees red after his voter ID carries dog’s photo, plans to sue EC
[HindustanTimes] A West Bengal resident was shocked to see a dog’s photo instead of his own on his voter ID card and has decided to file a defamation suit against the Election Commission of India (ECI).

North Bengal resident Sunil Karmakar received his ‘corrected’ voter ID card on Tuesday. But instead of his own visage, he found himself staring at that of a hairy pooch.

“There were some errors in my voter ID card so I had applied for a correction. When the corrected card came, the information was correct, but my photo had been replaced,” the irate 64-year-old voter of Bewa II’s Ramnagar village in Bengal’s Murshidabad said.

Karmakar feels the error was intentional and intended to humiliate him in public. “People who saw my card, mocked it publicly. I will drag the Election Commission of India (ECI) to court,” he said.

The mistake may have occurred due to the large-scale panic across Bengal over a possible citizenship screening exercise. Over the past few months, more than 0.83 million peoole including 0.24 million new voters from 22 Assembly segments in Murshidabad district, scrambled to apply for fresh voter IDs and rectifications of errors in existing ones. The district administration had cancelled leave for all government employees to ensure an error free voters’ list.

Tensions are running high following the deaths of more than 50 Ottoman Turkish soldiers in Idlib in the past month, including 33 who were killed in an attack on Thursday.

[Rudaw] A Russia defense ministry-affiliated commission for reconciliation in Syria has accused Ottoman Turkish-backed forces of committing "fundamental change" in the demography of once predominantly Kurdish areas in northern Syria.

-backed forces have displaced some 250,000 Kurds from the northwest Syrian district of Afrin, and 135,000 from Sari Kani (Ras al-Ain) and Gire Spi (Tel Abyad) ‐ resettling ethnic Turkmen in their place, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, established in 2016 as a joint Russia-Turkey enterprise.

In early 2018, Turkey invaded the Kurdish enclave of Afrin with the help of its Syrian proxies. It launched another offensive on northern Syria in October 2019, this time driving the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) out of major towns along north Syria-Turkey border areas.

In Afrin, a widespread campaign of demographic change has been ongoing for almost two years. Much of its original Kurdish population now live in displacement camps in nearby Tel Riffat, Shahba and Sherawa.

Speaking to Rudaw on Tuesday night, Bashar Amin, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Syria (PDK-S) which forms part of the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) echoed the reconciliation center's statement.

Demographic change in once Kurdish-majority areas has been raised in meetings with American, Russian, and French officials, Amin said, who have urged "unity among the Kurdish sides."

The PDK-S official added that the aforementioned countries have agreed to act as guarantors in order for them to be able to stop the continued demographic changes of the Kurdish region.

"They have not turned down our request to become guarantees. Our meetings with them will continue," Amin said.

An ENKS delegation met last month with Ottoman Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to discuss abuses and demographic changes.

Turkey’s foreign minister rejected demographic change at the meeting and supported the return of displaced families to their homes, according to an ENKS post-meeting statement.

A report published Tuesday by the UN’s Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria apportioned blame for civilian casualties across international parties involved in conflicts across northern Syria, including Russia.

The UN panel accused Moscow for the first time of direct involvement in war crimes for the indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas in Idlib, where Moscow has provided air support in the Syrian regime’s push to take the northwest Syrian province and its surrounding areas from the control of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian proxies are accused by the inquiry of arbitrary arrest and torture, and looting of properties of Kurds in Afrin.

"Cases of detentions, killings, beatings and abductions, in addition to widespread looting and appropriation of civilian homes, by a variety of gangs operating under the umbrella of the Syrian National Army have been documented, in a consistent, discernible pattern previously documented in Afrin," the report detailed.

"The reported incidents primarily affected Kurdish residents in Afrin and adjacent areas," the report added. "Syrian National Army (SNA) fighters have placed family members in some of the homes of Kurdish owners who fled the area and provided "rental contracts" to newly accommodated individuals," it said of the SNA, an umbrella of Turkey-backed Syrian proxy groups.

US Targets Taliban, 30 Afghan Forces Killed in Afghanistan
[ToloNews] The US forces conducted an airstrike against Taliban fighters in Nahr-e Saraj, a district of the southern province of Helmand on Wednesday, a spokesman for US Forces in Afghanistan, Col Sonny Leggett, tweeted on Wednesday.

The airstrike is the first in 11 days, said Leggett. All sides had agreed to a Reduction in Violence (RIV) plan starting on February 22 that was aimed to create conditions for peace and a permanent ceasefire.

The attack took place one day after Gen. Scott Miller, commander of US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, warned the Taliban to keep their commitments.

“It is fragile--if the Taliban are not going to lower violence.” said Miller, “that causes a risk to the agreement.”

He said there is a need for the Taliban to lower violence in Afghanistan “otherwise, it’s hard to have an agreement.”

The Taliban resumed attacks on Afghan forces as President Ashraf Ghani at the same time refused to release 5,000 prisoners before the beginning of the intra-Afghan talks, which were planned for March 10.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with the Taliban’s deputy leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar on Tuesday evening, Qatar time, said Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid.

Trump said: "The relationship is very good that I have with the Mullah, and we had a good long conversation today. And you know they want to cease the violence--they'd like to cease the violence also."

But as Trump and the Taliban hold civil talks, 30 Afghan forces and four civilians have been reported killed in 15 provinces of the country.

16 out of 30 Afghan forces were killed in Kunduz province and six others were killed in Uruzgan province.

“After the Taliban attacks, the Afghan security forces attacked the Taliban to defend themselves and the people of Afghanistan. 17 Taliban were killed and 11 others were wounded,” said Nusrat Rahimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior.

Reactions were strong about the Taliban attacks on Afghan security forces, especially following the signing of the peace deal with the US.

“Allah banned the killing of Muslims. The Taliban should talk to the government as they did with the US,” said Mawlawi Siddiqi, a religious scholar.

“The intra-Afghan talks are the only way forward. The problems can be solved like this,” said Sayed Abdul Malik Hashimi, another religious scholar.

The Taliban have not commented about the attacks yet.

The US targeted the Taliban following a successful Reduction in Violence (RIV) week that started on February 22, in which all sides respected the terms and violence was greatly lessened, even in the most dangerous and volatile areas like Sangin, Helmand; Andar district, Ghazni; and Chak in Maidan Wardak.

They believe that the severe complications like lung damage are caused by an autoimmune reaction triggered by the virus.

This would provide an explanation for the fact that so far only older people have experienced these complications.

Perhaps there was some pathogen around, years ago , that made immune systems pathologically sensitive to something like corona.
Younger individuals would have never encountered that pathogen, hence no severe complications, even in individuals with compromised health status.

Eualio L. Martinez, 35, who works as a car washer, was charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal sexual contact, sexual assault and child endangerment, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Monday.

An investigation by his Special Victims Unit in tandem with police in Cliffside Park and Fairview began after a school nurse contacted borough police this past Friday about the alleged assaults, he said.

NORKS Caught Shipping Sand to China
Instead of pounding sand, the NORKS are shipping it for revenue to China.
[gCaptain] For several months last year, a steady stream of ships was observed dredging sand in a North Korean bay then transporting loads of it to China, a Washington-based think-tank said on Wednesday.

The extraction of sand from North Korea to China would violate a 2017 U.N. Security Council resolution that prohibits North Korea from “supplying, selling, or transferring sand,” the Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS) said in a report.

The group’s researchers tracked the dredging and transport of the sand through commercial satellite imagery and shipping databases.

“Between March and August 2019, C4ADS observed a large fleet of vessels originating from Chinese waters traveling to North Korea to dredge and transport sand from Haeju Bay,” the report’s authors wrote, describing unusual ship traffic in a bay less than 30 km (18.6 miles) from neighboring South Korea.

China has called for sanctions to be eased on North Korea, but also says it fully enforces the sanctions imposed with its assent by the U.N. Security Council.

The United Nations has found that North Korea has repeatedly circumvented restrictions on trade of things like coal and oil, often by conducting ship-to-ship transfers at sea.

But the unprecedented scale and coordination of the dredging operation “showcases the boldness and impunity with which sanctions evasion networks operate, even under close scrutiny” C4ADS said in its report.

In 2019, Haeju Bay saw at least 1,563 visits by ships, according to Automatic Identification System (AIS) data reviewed by C4ADS. That compares with only 418 visits in the previous two years combined.

The AIS data showed many of the ships returning to ports on the Chinese coast.

Some of the ships observed in satellite imagery appeared to be operating in convoys or other formations, suggesting they were coordinating their movements.

“The activity in Haeju demonstrates scale, and a level of sophistication unlike other known cases of North Korean sanctions evasion at sea,” the group said.

Analysts are working on methods to estimate the amount of sand that was exported, and how much that may have been worth to North Korea, one of the report’s authors, Lauren Sung, told Reuters.

But the rising value of sand suggests that the operation was lucrative for cash-strapped North Korea.

“As the price of sand has risen rapidly in recent years, so has the practice of both licit and illicit sand excavation and trade around the world,” the group said.

The Diamond Princess is something of a closed system lab for corona virus. Everybody, I think about 4000 people including crew, on board the ship has now been tested. Some 400 or so tested positive but had no symptoms (only one new positive in the past week). There were 300 or so with symptoms, there have been 6 fatalities

Qom’s deputy prosecutor announced that the man who captured the footage had been arrested.

ICE arrests man accused of raping teen in Brooklyn
[PIX11] Immigration and Customs Enforcement slammed New York's sanctuary city status Tuesday after ICE officers arrested a man accused of raping a teen in Brooklyn.

Miguel Federico Ajqui-Ajtzalam, 20, was originally arrested by the NYPD on Thursday, according to ICE. He was released from custody after his arraignment ‐ though ICE had issued a detainer ‐ and was then arrested again, this time by ICE, on Monday. Local Enforcement and Removal Operations Director Rhomas Decker called Ajqui-Ajtzalam's release "inconceivable."

"It’s frightening that our detainer was ignored and he was released onto New York City streets to possibly re-offend," Decker said. "The safety of city residents, especially the more vulnerable, continues to be a priority for ICE enforcement."

The victim was 13, an NYPD spokesperson said. Ajqui-Ajtzalam, a Brooklyn resident, was 19 at the time the criminal report was filed.

"The NYPD does not conduct civil immigration enforcement and we will only honor immigration detainers under the following circumstances: ICE presents a warrant issued by a federal judge establishing that there is probable cause to take the person into custody, and the person has been convicted of a "violent or serious crime" within five years of the arrest or is a possible match on the terrorist watch list," an NYPD spokesperson said.

In January, ICE blamed the death of a 92-year-old Queens woman on New York's sanctuary city status, which allows the city to shield undocumented immigrants colonists who have broken the law from deportation requests, in some cases.

The Democratic Party's fanatical devotion to unrestricted, free (i.e., at taxpayer expense) abortion on demand, even up to-- and past-- the moment of birth is both disgusting and frightening, and they're becoming more extreme with each passing year.

Chinese Students Plead Guilty to Illegally Photographing Navy Base
[AmGreatness] Two Chinese men who had previously been arrested have pled guilty to illegally taking photographs of a U.S. Navy base in Key West, Florida, according to ABC News.

As previously reported by American Greatness, the two Chinese nationals, Yuhao Wang and Jielun Zhang, both 24 years old, were students attending the University of Michigan at the time of their arrest. They illegally drove onto the property of the Sigsbee Annex at the Naval Air Station, even after being turned away once already by security.

Having pled guilty, they now face penalties of either a $100,000 fine or up to a year in prison. Their sentencing is currently set for May 11th.

Is Muqtada al-Sadr able to snuff out Iraq’s mass street protests
[THEBAGHDADPOST] When Iraq's anti-government protests began last year, it was supporters of renowned Shiite Muslim cleric Moqtada al-Sadr who added heft.

They came in the thousands, manning front lines during clashes with riot police and providing security for the demonstrators as they settled in for the long haul.

Now, it might be Sadr who extinguishes their fight.

A flurry of statements from the cleric in recent months has fractured the movement, prompting accusations of betrayal. He has pulled his supporters away from protest camps and then sent those followers back to battle those who remained.

Threats made by his militiamen have sent political activists into hiding. Sadr’s followers have attacked his critics with knives.

“They’re insulting Sadr, and we can’t allow it,” cried one of his supporters, Saeed Alaa al-Yassiri, on a recent day in Baghdad’s central Tahrir Square as his group pushed other demonstrators back with sticks and knives. “They’re serving American agendas now. This square needs to be cleaned.”

Sadr is a storied figure in Iraq, with a history of agitation against U.S. troops and fierce loyalty from tens of thousands of pious and working class acolytes.

But he is also something of a shape-shifter; in the years since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, the cleric has positioned himself variously as a sectarian militia leader, a revolutionary figure and a nationalist who can unify the country. His reliance on Iranian support has also waxed and waned, depending at times, it has seemed, on the optics for his political base.

But Iraq’s youth movement has emerged as a challenge to his long-standing image as a man who can command the country’s streets. As the largest spontaneous uprising in the country’s history, the protest movement has already felled one government and rejected a prime minister-designate that Sadr had backed. The candidate, Mohamed Tawfiq Allawi, stepped aside Sunday.

More than 500 demonstrators have been killed by Iraq’s security forces and Iran-backed militias since October, human rights and security officials say. The violence has turned what started as anti-corruption protests into a revolt against the entire political system, with growing anger and mockery directed at Iran’s leading role — and now at the cleric himself.

“In this sense, it is the nature of Iraq’s protest politics that has changed, not Sadr himself,” said Ben Robin-D’Cruz, a researcher on Iraqi politics at the University of Edinburgh.

FBI Arrests Military Translator on Espionage Charges
[VOA] An American military translator based in Iraq has been arrested and charged with handing highly classified information to a Lebanese national with apparent ties to the Lebanese Hezbollah terror group, the Justice Department announced Wednesday.

Mariam Taha Thompson, 61, formerly of Rochester, Minnesota, was arrested by FBI special agents on February 27 at an unidentified overseas military facility where she worked as a contract translator. She faces charges of delivering defense information to aid a foreign government and was scheduled to make her first appearance in federal court in Washington on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Justice Department, the FBI investigation leading to Thompson's arrest uncovered that she had accessed dozens of secret military computer files on human intelligence sources over a six-week period beginning December 30, a day after U.S. strikes against Iranian-backed forces in Iraq.

The files included "true names, personal identification data, background information, and photographs of the human assets, as well as operational cables detailing information the assets provided to the United States government," the Justice Department said in a statement.

A court authorized the search of Thompson's living quarters on February 19 and found a handwritten note in Arabic with classified information that she intended to send to a Lebanese national in whom she had a romantic interest. The note found under a mattress included names of human assets and instructions that their phones should be monitored.

Court documents identify Thompson's co-conspirator as having apparent connections to the Hezbollah. The group was designated as a foreign terrorist organization by the State Department in 1997.

More than 300 illegal Chinese immigrants busted on southern border
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Some 328 illegal immigrants colonists from China have been nabbed jumping the U.S.-Mexico border so far this year, according to Homeland Security data that raises the prospect a coronavirus carrier could sneak into the country via the border.

Three other people from South Korea ‐ another country with rapidly spreading cases ‐ have also been arrested at the border, as have 122 people from the Dominican Republican, where the coronavirus has now been detected.

All told, more than 1,000 illegal immigrants colonists a day are caught attempting to sneak in from Mexico, which detected its first case last week, and since has identified five others.

Thousands Of Muslim Invaders Living In Scotland Have Just Won The Right To Vote
[Gov.Scot] Approval for Scottish Elections (Franchise and Representation) Bill.

The right to vote in Scottish Parliament and local government elections has been extended today, with the passing of the Scottish Elections (Franchise and Representation) Bill.

The Bill extends voting rights to all foreign nationals with leave to remain, including all those granted refugee status.

It also extends candidacy rights to foreign nationals with indefinite leave to remain, and to those with pre-settled status.

This also marks the first time in the history of the Scottish Parliament that a Bill has passed after requiring a super-majority, the support of two thirds of the 129 members elected.

Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution, Europe and External Affairs Michael Russell said:

“This Bill, a historic piece of legislation, is an example of Scotland’s ability to take the lead in making progressive reforms, and one of which we should be proud.

“It also reflects the reality of modern Scotland: a nation committed to robustly meeting our duties to the treaties that safeguard our human rights, that welcomes those who seek to join our society, and gives a democratic voice to the most marginalised in our communities.

“EU and Commonwealth citizens already have the franchise, but it was critical that we recognised the enormous contribution of others by extending the right to vote.

“This extension is especially meaningful in the atmosphere of uncertainty surrounding the UK Government’s plans for the immigration system – but instead of instilling insecurity and fear, this Government is using the powers that it has to send the message that Scotland is open, welcoming, and home to all those who so choose.

States trying to curb impact of 700,000 losing benefits with new food stamp rules
[FoxNews] New Trump administration rules taking effect April 1 are putting hundreds of thousands of people at risk of losing their benefits.

From Hawaii to Pennsylvania, states are scrambling to blunt the impact of the new rules, with roughly 700,000 people at risk of losing benefits unless they meet certain work, training or school requirements. They’ve filed a multi-state lawsuit, expanded publicly funded job training, developed pilot programs and doubled down efforts to reach vulnerable communities, including the homeless, rural residents and people of color.

Currently, work-eligible, able-bodied adults without dependents under 50 can receive monthly benefits if they meet a 20-hour weekly work, job training or school requirement. Those who don’t are limited to three months of food stamps over three years.

However, states with high unemployment or few jobs have been able to waive time limits. Every state except Delaware has sought a waiver at some point, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

The new rules make it harder to get waivers. They’re the first of three changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, which feeds 36 million people nationwide.

The Trump administration has touted the change as a way to get people working and save $5.5 billion over five years. Able-bodied adults without dependents are 7 percent of SNAP recipients.

DNC Will Raise Debate Threshold After Tulsi Gabbard Earns a Delegate

[Heavy] An official with the DNC has announced on Twitter that the threshold for participating in a Democratic debate will be increased. This announcement was made around the same time that American Samoa caucus rewarded Tulsi Gabbard with a delegate after she earned 29.3 percent of the votes with 99 percent reporting. The DNC's debate threshold had allowed anyone to qualify to be in a debate if they gained one delegate in a primary or caucus, but the tweet from an official with the DNC indicates that might change.

Xochitl Hinojosa, the communications director for the Democratic Party according to her Twitter account, tweeted about the threshold changes on Twitter.

She wrote: "We have two more debates– of course the threshold will go up. By the time we have the March debate, almost 2,000 delegates will be allocated. The threshold will reflect where we are in the race, as it always has."

Netanyahu: Gantz trying to steal the election
[JPOST] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Blue and White leader Benny Gantz of trying to steal Monday's election on Wednesday after Gantz began efforts to pass a law that would prevent an indicted MK from forming a government.

Speaking at a meeting of the MKs in his right-wing bloc, Netanyahu said the effort to pass the bill would undermine democracy. The leaders of the parties in his bloc vowed to remain united and insist that only Netanyahu form the next government.

[NYPOST] Republican Pierce Bush, a grandson of former President George H.W. Bush, failed to advance out of Tuesday’s primary in his bid for a Houston congressional seat, becoming the first member of his family to lose a race in Texas in more than 40 years.

Aside from the recognition of coming from America’s most enduring Republican dynasty, Bush 34, was endorsed by the outgoing GOP incumbent, Rep. Pete Olson, and raised more money than many of the other 14 candidates in the field.

Troy Nehls and Kathaleen Wall, staunch defenders of President Trump, advanced instead to the runoff. That raised questions about whether the Bush family’s sharp personal festivities with the president in recent years turned off Republican voters.
