Russian forces install new Melitopol mayor after abducting Ivan Fedorov
[NY Post] "Morale will improve or we'll shoot the rest of you!"
Russian military forces have installed a new mayor for the embattled city of Melitopol — one day after its elected mayor was kidnapped by a group of 10 Russian soldiers.

Galina Danilchenko, a former member of the city council, was proclaimed the acting mayor on local TV Saturday, CNN reported.
Now we have a name.
A new Quisling
Mayor Ivan Fedorov was taken from Melitopol’s crisis center Friday with a plastic bag over his head after he “refused to cooperate with the enemy,” Ukraine’s parliament said.

More than 2,000 residents of the Russian-occupied city in the Kremlin-backed rebel region of Luhansk staged a rally to support Fedorov Saturday, while Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded his immediate release.

American Foreign Policy Is Adrift. If There Is A Plan, It's A bad One, And if There Is No Plan, It's Just As Bad
[AceComments] It's hard to imagine a worse foreign policy than our current mess of reactive measures and half-measures and meaningless pontifications that emerge from the White House and the state department. We are in retreat everywhere, and have lost any sense of the simplest goals: to protect American interests throughout the world.

In fact it is difficult to see anything remotely good about our total capitulation to Iranian desires for nuclear weapons and Russia's interest in supporting Iran as a proxy to do mischief...and worse.

Cui Bono? Who benefits? It's pretty clear that Iran and Russia benefit, and America and our staunch ally Israel are the losers in this charade. And to make matters worse, this author suggests that the Biden junta is selling out Ukraine just to get Russia's support of the catastrophic Iran deal!

Ukraine first -- Israel next?:
Irina Tsukerman, a geopolitical and security analyst, suggests a more sinister linkage between Ukraine and the Iran deal. Biden could be sacrificing Ukraine in order to secure Russia’s co-operation in pushing the recalcitrant Tehran towards a deal, she argues. This may allow America to secure cheap Iranian oil, easing the squeeze on household budgets at home.

Worse still, once the nuclear deal is done, Biden may seek to handcuff Israel to prevent it from taking further military action in Syria or against Iran itself. Why? With the US hooked on Iranian oil, Biden would need to "contain" the regime and prevent it from turning the financial screw by raising oil prices.

But why support Iran in the first place? What possible benefit is there, even in the fever dreams and masturbatory fantasies of Biden's handlers? How can a reconstituted Iranian nuclear weapons program help American interests in the region? How can relaxing restrictions on Iran's terror network benefit America? After all, these are the people responsible for a huge amount of terrorism (much of it directed at America) over the last 40 years. That includes the bombing of the Marine Corps barracks in Lebanon in 1983! And we will be lifting sanctions against Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan, who led IRGC forces in Lebanon and Syria when Hezbollah bombed the Marine compound in Beirut and killed 241 U.S. service members.

The simplest reason for this insanity is a combination of two things:

The first is the obvious dislike of Israel on the part of so many of the actors in this farce. Valerie Jarrett and John Kerry come to mind, but the traditional anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment in the U.S. State Department has been allowed to emerge.

The second is a perverse desire for some sort of counterbalance to Israel's power in the Middle East. That it is benign, and is a huge positive matters not at all. These people would rather see a regional war than allow one country to have military dominance, especially a country that is unabashedly Western and Jewish. But by allowing Iran to produce nuclear weapons is a guarantee of much more instability in the region that can easily spill over to other places.

An ascendant Iran will broaden its terrorist activities, including unleashing Hezbollah in Lebanon. That will provoke a response from Israel, including increasing its attacks on Hezbollah in Syria (where Iran funnels arms). Russia has so far allowed Israel to enter Syrian airspace to attack arms transiting to Lebanon, but how long will that last? Will Israel have to fight the Russians as well as the Syrians, the Iranians and Hezbollah?

Of course China would never dream of taking advantage of regional unrest to further its own interests, so at least the world is safe from that complexity.

#6  Well, except for the United States. Biden took care of their oil industry.

One recent example:

Biden halts all new oil, gas leases
The Biden administration is delaying decisions on new oil and gas drilling on federal land and other energy-related actions after a federal court blocked the way officials were calculating the real-world costs of climate change.

The administration said in a legal filing that a Feb. 11 ruling by a Louisiana federal judge will affect dozens of rules by at least four federal agencies. Among the immediate effects is an indefinite delay in planned oil and gas lease sales on public lands in a half-dozen states in the West, including Wyoming, Montana and Utah.

The ruling also will delay plans to restrict methane waste emissions from natural gas drilling on public lands and a court-ordered plan to develop energy conservation standards for manufactured housing, the administration said. The ruling also will delay a $2.3 billion federal grant program for transit projects, officials said.

#7  to protect American interests throughout the world.

There's your problem. That's not our goal. That's NEVER our goal. Our goal is to protect the interests of the American people.

After all, these are the people responsible for a huge amount of terrorism (much of it directed at America) over the last 40 years.

Could that have something to do with the fact that the CIA overthrew the elected government of Iran in the 1950s and installed the brutal Shah, a dictator? How would we feel about a government that did that to us? Maybe stopping fucking with other countries would solve the terrorism problem. Just a guess! Let's give it a try, though. It couldn't be worse than what we've got going now.

#8  Could that have something to do with the fact that the CIA overthrew the elected government of Iran in the 1950s and installed the brutal Shah, a dictator?

It is my understanding that Britain took the lead on that project, to protect the interests of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, and that the Shah was already on the throne, having come to the throne upon the abdication of his father in 1941.

John Cleese censored in Austin for complaints about Aqueduct-builders
real article title:
John Cleese has his microphone taken away at South by Southwest festival for saying that Britain should get 'reparations from Italy and France' for Romans and Normans enslaving Britons

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • British comedian John Cleese in row with fellow comics over slave reparations

  • Monty Python icon had been at South by Southwest public event in Texas, USA

  • But he landed himself in hot water after joking about France and Italy owing Brits slave reparations for the Roman Empire and the Norman invasion of 1066

  • His microphone was eventually taken off him by American comic Dulcé Sloan

Comedy legend John Cleese had his microphone confiscated at the South by Southwest festival during a comedic discussion in which he suggested Italy and France owed historic reparations for enslaving Brits.

The Monty Python icon, 82, was riffing with other comics in front of the crowd in Texas when he talked about the 'competition' between cultures over who has been more oppressed by colonisations throughout history.

Pointing to world history being 'a history of crime', he added: 'It's a history of people who were stronger beating up people who were weaker and it's always been that. It's deeply, deeply distasteful.

'But to pretend that one lot were worse than another — you do know the British have been slaves twice, right?

Cleese explained: '[People] get competitive about this business of being oppressed. We were oppressed, the English, by the Romans from about 0 to 400.'

Despite the event being labelled a 'comedy panel', his remarks sparked horrified reactions and an awkward environment for those in attendance.

At one stage Cleese even had his microphone confiscated by American comic Dulcé Sloan, who said she did it to 'save a comic whose career I respect', per The Hollywood Reporter.

'And now you saved the colonizer,' Pasternack said. 'I saved a comic whose career I respect,' Sloan fired back.

Cleese rebutted claims that the British Empire was the first to colonise communities from other states throughout his 90-minute performance entitled 'John Cleese in Conversation.'

The British comic insisted England was owed 'reparations' from both Italy and France, referring to the historic invasions of the Romans, and 1000 years later by the Normans under William the Conqueror.

'I want reparations from Italy', he told the stunned crowd. 'And then the Normans came over in 1066... they were horrible people from France and they colonised us for 30 years and we need reparations there too, I'm afraid'.

His fellow comedians speaking at the event, Jim Gaffigan, Dulcé Sloan and moderator Dan Pasternack all unsuccessfully attempted to draw Cleese away from his rant.

Pasternack even explained to the audience at one point: 'And this is why your phones are locked up'.

As tempers started to flare, Sloan grabbed out and temporarily confiscated Cleese's microphone to cheers and applause from sections of the audience, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Speaking after the ordeal, Cleese explained his actions by saying: 'The thing is, I'm going to be dead soon. That's why I'm in favour of global warming - I don't want to be cold ever again'.

To which Pasternack jokingly replied: 'Where you're going you won't be!'
One thing I hate the modern clergy for is they've destroyed humor alongside their quest to destroy history.

Award-winning US journalist Brent Renaud killed in Ukraine: police
[NY Post] Oh noes! Now Putin's done it!
An award-winning journalist who was a former New York Times contributor has been killed by Russian forces near Kyiv, the region’s head of police said Sunday.
Walter Duranty: "Sorry, Comrade. Omelette/Broken Eggs and all that..."
Brent Renaud, 51, a video journalist, was fatally shot when Russian troops opened fire on a car near the Romanivsky Bridge in Irpin, police said.

"The occupants cynical [sic] kill even journalists of the international media who try to show the truth about the inaction of Russian troops in Ukraine," Kyiv Chief of Police Andrey Nebitov wrote on Facebook.

"Of course, the profession of a journalist is a risk, but US citizen Brent Renaud paid his life for trying to highlight the aggressor’s ingenuity, cruelty and ruthlessness," he continued.

Two other journalists were also injured in the attack and taken to the hospital, Nebitov said.

Nebitov shared a video of a police officer at the scene with a bloodied man’s body.

So much for the "benign hegemon" argument justifying NATO's encroachment:
The base has hosted international NATO drills and a senior NATO official, Admiral Rob Bauer, previously hailed it as embodying “the spirit of military cooperation” between Ukraine and international forces. As such, the site symbolizes Russia’s longstanding concerns that the 30-member Western military alliance poses a threat to Moscow by operating so close to its territory.

"When Russia bombed the base near Lviv last night, it had to assume Americans were likely to be killed or injured. A coordinator of foreign volunteers in Ukraine told me the base was a hub for 1000s of them, coming from all over to help Ukraine. I met some from US, UK, Australia."

Like Harding of the Guardian has also been tweeting on the scene in Yavoriv (though Harding said today he's now heading back to the U.K.).

I remember when it was our Special Forces killing Russian mercenaries in Syria. Now it's the Russians who are killing American mercenaries in Ukraine. Of course, the former occurred under Trump, when instead of provoking Russia we were preventing Russia from invading.

#7  Confirmation from their own leader that Dutch Foreign Legion fighters killed, injured at Yavoriv

Gert Snitselaar, who coordinates the Dutch members of the Foreign Legion, told the Telegraaf and AD that it was clear Dutch people were killed in the attack. He did not want to offer a specific number just yet for fear of a disinformation campaign. "I was in contact with a few this morning, but since then there has been no communication," he told AD.

#8  Can't verify this for authenticity but the attached video at this link is apparently a Brazilian Foreign Legionnaire who, if my rusty Portuguese is correct, clearly confirms that a significant number of foreign fighters were killed in the strike on the Yavoriv training facility where they had been gathering.

The source of this video identified the speaker as "Thiago Rossi, ex Brasilian soldier that was part of #InternationalLegion in #Ukraine, [who] said that most of his Foreign unit was wiped in yesterday's Russian airstrike on their base in #Yavoriv near #Lvov."

In that Brazilian Legionnaire's video - presumably filmed today, he's fleeing on a bus to Poland and his voice his shaking - he says fue extermindos and keeps repeating the phrases mundo enteiro and todo gente and cabo -- the last IIRC is used often to mean the end, as in "wiped out."

#9  Looks like the Russians were indeed telling the truth when they said their cruise missiles killed about 180 foreign legionnaires in Yavoriv.

Here is a series of desperate messages by a foreign volunteer fighter, courtesy of Nolan Peterson (@nolanwpeterson on Twitter): "From an American volunteer on the front lines outside of Kyiv:
"Sitting close to the frontline, the last safe mode of transportation leaves for greener pastures. A core group of about 30 foreign fighters remains out of around 200 people who were here just minutes ago.. 1/"

"The base we came from was struck by rockets in the early morning hours. People we lived with for a couple days are confirmed dead. It is only a matter of time before our location is targeted. We are about to be cut off by a Russian tank column any day now..." 2/

Was China Betting on Russian Defeat All Along?
[GeopoliticalMonitor] China has been seen by many as the most important ally of Russia in the invasion of Ukraine. However, after nearly two weeks of fighting, confusing episodes have been culminating around China’s attitude to the war. Regarding both the UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions, China has abstained rather than voted on the side of Russia. Regarding the sanctions on Russia, China hasn’t shown much of a willingness to help thus far, and two major Chinese banks, the Bank of China and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, have even refused to help Russia process export transactions. Instead of supporting Russia, Chinese minister of foreign affairs, Wang Yi has called for de-escalation of the conflict. China seems to be pulling back its’ support from Russia, everywhere from diplomacy to economics.

On the other hand, however, Chinese statements right before the war seemed to have indicated Beijing’s full support for Moscow, and the fact that Russia waited for the end of the Beijing Winter Olympics seems to confirm rumors that Xi asked Putin to do so, indicating in turn that China was fully aware of what was coming, and decided to support it in full knowledge. Thus: Full support for the invasion before it started, but then a gradual pulling back once the invasion was underway — What’s going on here? Did China change its’ mind due to some unexpected occurrence?

What if nothing such happened, but it was a consistent strategy to encourage Russia to attack at first, but roll back its’ support after the war has started? Knowing the history of Sino-Russian relations, a Russian victory doesn’t seem to be in China’s interest. What is in China’s interest is a prolonged war of attrition, draining Russia’s resources as much as possible, weakening it as much as possible, meanwhile isolating it from the West as much as possible, and with a Russian defeat at the end.
Go read the whole thing. There's a neat map and stuff...

35 killed, 134 hurt in Russian attack targeting Yavoriv military range near Lviv: Live updates
[NEWS.YAHOO] A Russian Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on a military training base in western Ukraine killed at least 35 people and maimed 134, a local official said Sunday. The assault brought the war to within 25 miles of the border with Poland after a senior Russian diplomat warned that Moscow considered foreign shipments of military equipment to Ukraine "legitimate targets."

The United States and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants...
have regularly sent instructors to the range, also known as the International Peacekeeping and Security Center, to train Ukrainian military personnel. The facility has also hosted international NATO drills. Just weeks before the war began, Florida National Guard members trained there.

The base has become a crucial logistics hub and training center since Russia’s invasion began, The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported. It was not immediately revealed whether imported muscle were at the center when the assault took place.

The governor of the Lviv region, Maksym Kozytskyi, said Russian forces fired more than 30 cruise missiles at the Yavoriv military range, located about 20 miles northwest of the city of Lviv.

Russian fighters also fired at the airport in Ivano-Frankivsk, a city in western Ukraine about five miles from Ukraine’s border with Slovakia and Hungary. Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv said Russia’s goal was "to sow panic and fear."

The attacks early Sunday came after Russia bombarded cities across Ukraine on Saturday, pounding Mariupol in the south, shelling the outskirts of the capital, Kyiv, and thwarting the efforts of people trying to flee the violence.

Ukraine Worked with Democrats Against Trump in 2016 to Stop Putin. The Bet Backfired Badly.
[Gateway] Six years ago, before Russia’s full-scale invasion of their country, the Ukrainians bet that a Hillary Clinton presidency would offer better protection from Russian President Vladimir Putin, even though he had invaded Crimea during the Obama-Biden administration, whose Russian policies Clinton vowed to continue.
Good afternoon. We're here at the behest of the US Government and we've come to help.
Working with both the Obama administration and the Clinton campaign, Ukrainian government officials intervened in the 2016 race to help Clinton and hurt Donald Trump in a sweeping and systematic foreign influence operation that’s been largely ignored by the press. The improper, if not illegal, operation was run chiefly out of the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, where officials worked hand-in-glove with a Ukrainian-American activist and Clinton campaign operative to attack the Trump campaign. The Obama White House was also deeply involved in an effort to groom their own favored leader in Ukraine and then work with his government to dig up dirt on — and even investigate — their political rival.

Ukrainian and Democratic operatives also huddled with American journalists to spread damaging information on Trump and his advisers — including allegations of illicit Russian-tied payments that, though later proved false, forced the resignation of his campaign manager Paul Manafort. The embassy actually weighed a plan to get Congress to investigate Manafort and Trump and stage hearings in the run-up to the election.

#1  Ciaramella was a CIA detailee to the White House occupying the NSC’s Ukraine desk in 2015 and 2016. In that role, Ciaramella met face-to-face with top Ukrainian officials and provided policy advice to Biden through the then-vice president’s security adviser Michael Carpenter. He also worked with Nuland and Chalupa.Ciaramella was carried over to the Trump White House.

The scales appear to be falling from my eyes.

So obvious. The one US president of the last 30 years to resist NATO expansion has to be undermined by the Ukrainian-Democrat cabal. Trump PREVENTED Russian invasions. The Ukrainian-Democrat cabal PROVOKED Russian invasion.

Fuck these people, every last one of them - Hillary, Vindman, Nuland, Sally Painter. Damn them to hell for the mischief and damage these conniving idiots have caused us. And the world.

#5  I thought this interesting:

In effect, Obama officials greased a revolution. Within months, Yanukovych was exiled and replaced by Petro Poroshenko, who would later do Biden’s bidding – including firing a prosecutor investigating his son Hunter.

It wasn’t Zelensky who was president of the Ukraine at the time, it was the man he replaced. Part of losing that bet was that Mr. Poroshenko was president no more. And President Trump was just providing support for President Zelensky to do what he fully intended to do anyway — shut down the mess his predecessor had made with all the Democrats.

Perhaps Tucker Carlson's most profound monologue ever
[American Thinker] I won't lie: I'm a Tucker Carlson fan. He is willing to speak honestly about topics others ignore, sugarcoat, or lie about. Even when I don't agree with him, I find him worthwhile, and never more so than his Friday-night monologue about Biden's latest, terrifying power-grab and how our government is destroying the American economy. It was a tour de force, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Tucker opened with something I'd meant to write about and now don't need to: without a single pause, the Biden administration slipped effortlessly from COVID emergency powers (which are now passé thanks to polling) and is, instead, assuming war powers, even though we're not at war:
At exactly the moment when the emergency powers they awarded to themselves to fight COVID started to wane, our leaders began pushing for conflict with Russia. And then, on the basis of that conflict, they assumed historic war powers.

Without even pausing, the Biden administration declared total economic war on a sovereign country. No American had been killed. The United States had not been invaded or attacked. And yet, with no meaningful public debate or congressional authorization, the Biden administration destroyed that country's currency, then removed it from the international banking system, then impoverished its population. Then the administration began seizing the property of people affiliated with that country, without a trial or due process of any kind, without even bothering to explain exactly what crime they had committed.

Tucker could have added that, earlier on Friday, Biden creepily and gleefully whisper-shouted into the microphone a boast about destroying the economy of a country with which we are not at war:

Elon Musk's Space X Might Need to Rescue an American Astronaut Stranded by Russia
[Redstate] Mr. Elon Musk, it looks like America and one of her astronauts aboard the International Space Station might need you. You know, the place where your space capsules have gone to a number of times, and have allowed the United States to not depend on the Russians for a lift up and back home.

Yeah, that place.

In what can only be described as living proof that a mess on Earth can leak into space, it seems that the Putin World Tour of ticking off everyone on the ground (except China, Iran, North Korea, and Belarus) has made its way into the heavens.

Approximately 254 miles up, anyway.

While all this mayhem goes on the Big Blue Marble we call Earth, there are astronauts from Russia and the United States looking on at the big, floating rock below, and probably scratching their heads at the madness. They work and live in close quarters, which is probably not a problem most of the time, but nowadays, it might be a tad bit weird.

When a crew transfer happens in the next month, it might get a bit more awkward, after Dmitry Rogozin, who is the head of the Russian Space Agency, made a bit of a veiled threat about not bringing back an American scheduled to leave on the Russian capsule.

Black Rifle opens fire on media: ‘Start telling the truth'
[Washington Examiner] Like a lot of Middle America, the gang at Black Rifle Coffee Company has had it with the liberal media.

And now it is showing it on a new T-shirt that mocks the press with its own plea to readers and viewers: "Trust Us."

CEO Evan Hafer told us, "The mainstream media has completely lost the trust of the American people. Since 2016, they’ve been caught lying about literally every issue: the Russia ’collusion’ hoax, the ’mostly peaceful’ Black Lives Matter riots, ESG investing, the Wuhan lab, and ’transitory’ inflation, to name a few."

He added, "Our message to the mainstream media is simple: Start telling the truth."

The coffee firm, started by a handful of recent war veterans, often takes a hard-line approach to cultural problems and uses its social media platforms to push its causes.

Ukrainian Perspective: Combat and Humanitarian Roundup
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] The Russian military continues to shell Ukrainian cities, while killing civilians, including children.

During the 17 days of the war, 82 children were killed by enemy shelling and bombing of the Russian military in Ukraine. On Saturday, March 12, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov announced this live on the air of a joint UA telethon.

"Unfortunately, we are losing our children. To date, 82 children have died in this war, they died from the bullets of the invaders sent here by Putin. This is a very big price for us because we are fighting for our independence," he said. Danilov.

At the same time, he expressed confidence that Ukraine would win this confrontation.

"I want to say that those people who behave impolitely will be very ashamed of them after we win," the NSDC secretary said.

Recall that the Russian military shot a column of women and children during the evacuation in the Kiev region. Seven people died.

Earlier, the SBU reported that the Russian military had been instructed to shoot civilians .

Sarpanch shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam, 3rd killing in a week
[OneIndia] Terrorists rubbed out a sarpanch
...apparently the equivalent of a village mayor, the elected head of the elected village council...
in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
on Friday. This is the third killing of a local elected representative by gunnies in Jammu and Kashmir this month.

One of the officials said, "At about 8:50 pm, snuffies fired upon Shabir Ahmad Mir near his residence in Adoura in south Kashmir's Kulgam district." They said Mir was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Mir was an independent sarpanch.

The area has been cordoned off and a hunt launched to nab the attackers, the officials said.

The killing drew condemnations from political parties.

On March 9, an independent sarpanch, Sameer Bhat, was rubbed out by snuffies on the outskirts of Srinagar.

On March 2, snuffies rubbed out an independent panchayat member, Mohammad Yaqub Dar, in the Srandoo area of Kulgam.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Woman raped at Manhattan church by homeless man
[NYPOST] A homeless man beat and raped a woman inside a Manhattan church — a "sickening" attack that ended only when a hero priest intervened, she claims in a lawsuit.

The terrifying ordeal began Jan. 30, 2019, when the 68-year-old victim, who lives nearby Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Hamilton Heights, noticed the lights were off, which was "abnormal."

So the woman, identified in the legal filing only as "Jane Doe," went to check, found the Catholic church’s doors open, called out, and was suddenly accosted.

The alleged attacker was a man who had hung around the church before and "exposed his genitals to older women," she said in the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.

The vagrant grabbed the woman, "covered her mouth, took her to the bathroom, locked the two of them inside and he proceeded to beat her with his fist and slam her against the wall. At that point, the perpetrator ripped off [her] clothes and raped her," according to the lawsuit.

The nightmare finally ended around 10 p.m., when Rev. Gilberto Angel-Neri came by, noticed the doors open and called out, prompting the victim to scream and her attacker to flee, she said in court papers.

Cops arrested Craig Ellis, 55, about two hours and a block away on Broadway. The homeless man with at least 43 prior arrests stretching back to the late 1990s allegedly had Jane Doe’s jacket and cellphone on him, police sources told The Post.

Ellis is being held on $100,000 cash bail, records show. He was hit with a slew of charges ranging from attempted rape and sexual abuse to robbery and assault and has undergone numerous psychiatric evaluations as the criminal case drags on, according to court records.

Jane Doe was taken by ambulance to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital after the attack.

The accuser and her husband claim the man who attacked her "was known to the church members and staff to be a danger to the community," and that Our Lady of Lourdes and the New York Archdiocese "failed to take reasonable security measures such that they allowed a dangerous person onto the premises."

She seeks unspecified damages.

Rev. Angel-Neri declined to comment. The Archdiocese declined to comment, saying it had yet to be served with the lawsuit.

Aleppo countryside bombed by Turkish forces

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, Turkish forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions bombed the village of al-Bogaz in the eastern countryside of the city of al-Bab, north of Syria, with mortar shells.

From their base in the village of al-Zarzour, east of the city of al-Bab, the Turkish forces bombed the village of al-Bogaz with several mortar shells, a military source told North Press.

No material damage or casualties were caused by the shelling, the sources added.

On March 5, the village of al-Jat, north of Manbij, was hit with two thermal missiles by the Turkish forces.

The towns, villages and cities, in north Syria, are constantly bombarded by the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed opposition factions.

Asayish and SDF arrest wanted in Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Internal Security Forces in North and East Syria (Asayish) managed to arrest a number of suspects and wanted during a security operation to pursue ISIS sleeper cells in the southern countryside of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

“The SDF and Asayish launched a broad security operation on Saturday dawn that targeted definite persons suspected of dealing with ISIS,” a military source of the SDF told North Press.

The source added that during the operation, wanted and suspected people were arrested, preferred not to mention the number, indicating that they will be subjected to investigation.

The military operation, supported by the US-led Global Coalition drones, started from al-Arisha district, passing through Shaddadi and Markada, reaching the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

With the operation started, the Asayish demanded the residents stay at home until it ends for safety’s sake.

The operation targeted more than 50 sites in different areas in Hasakah southern countryside, according to the source.

The operation came within the framework of pursuing ISIS sleeper cells following the recent attack on al-Sina’a prison in Guweiran neighbourhood in Hasakah city on January 20.

Terrorists Abduct 14 Worshippers From Mosque In Kaduna

Terrorists, locally known as bandits, on Thursday, invaded a mosque in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to the report, the bandits abducted about 14 persons in the attack and rustled an unspecified number of cattle from Tudun Amada village.

However, it is unclear if there were any casualties in the attack.

Eyewitness reports reveal that the heavy bandits divided themselves into groups; some were at the mosque while others moved from house to house abducting people.

Some of them rustled hundreds of cows, sheep, and goats.

About three weeks ago, bandits abducted the wives and four daughters of Mallam Ibrahim Tanko, the Ssrkin Hausawa of Anguwar Azara in Jere, along Abuja-Kaduna highway, Kaduna State.

The traditional ruler said the bandits, who wielded sophisticated weapons, invaded his house around 11:52pm on the day of the attack.

He said he managed to escape using one of the exit doors.

“It was after they searched and couldn’t see me that they went into a room where my daughters were sleeping and whisked four of them away at gunpoint,” he said.

The Sarkin Hausawa gave the names of his abducted daughters as Aisha Ibrahim, Farida Ibrahim, Zainab Ibrahim and Hussaina Ibrahim.

He said the bandits proceeded to a neighbour’s house and whisked away four residents alongside a nursing mother identified as Laraba Umar.

Deleted Web Pages Show Obama Led an Effort To Build a Ukraine-Based BioLab Handling ‘Especially Dangerous Pathogens
[National Pulse] A deleted web article recovered by The National Pulse reveals that former President Barack Obama spearheaded an agreement leading to the construction of biolabs handling "especially dangerous pathogens" in Ukraine.

The news comes on the same day that Biden regime apparatchik Victoria Nuland told the U.S. Senate that the American government is concerned about biological research facilities falling into Russian hands as a result of the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe.

Originally posted on June 18th, 2010, the article "Biolab Opens in Ukraine" details how Obama, while serving as an Illinois Senator, helped negotiate a deal to build a level-3 bio-safety lab in the Ukrainian city of Odessa.

The article, which also highlighted the work of former Senator Dick Lugar, was additionally included in Issue No. 818 of the United States Air Force (USAF) Counterproliferation Center’s Outreach Journal.

"Lugar said plans for the facility began in 2005 when he and then-Senator Barack Obama entered a partnership with Ukrainian officials. Lugar and Obama also helped coordinate efforts between the U.S and Ukrainian researchers that year in an effort to study and help prevent avian flu," explained author Tina Redlup.

Two ISIS terrorists caught in Baghdad

Shafaq News/ Iraq's Federal Intelligence Agency said it had arrested two persons who served in the formations of the terrorist organization ISIS in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The agency said in a statement earlier that the "terrorists wanted in accordance with Article 4/Terrorism for their affiliation to ISIS" were captured in two separate operations in Baghdad.

Upon preliminary inquiries, the first arrestee known as "Abu Obaida" confessed for serving in the "Nahawand unit", while the other said he drove a "drilling vehicle" deployed in constructing hideouts for the terrorist group.

Civilian killings: Forces gun down 4 terrorists in 3 encounters at J&K
[OneIndia] The security forces in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
have shot full of holes four Death Eaters in three separate encounters.

Two Death Eaters were from the Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
and they were killed in an encounter that broke out at the Chewaklan area in Pulwama, the police said.

In another encounter, a terrorist who was part of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba was killed, following an encounter at the Serch area in Ganderbal. One more Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorist was killed in the Rajwat area of Handwara.

"#Encounter has started at Nechama, Rajwar area of #Handwara. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice," the Kashmir Zone police said in a tweet.

According to Inspector General of Police, Vijay Kumar, the security forces launched joint operations at four to five locations on Friday night. This led to the killing of two Death Eaters of the Jaish-e-Mohammad and two from the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. One terrorist has been caught alive and the the encounters are Handwara and Pulwama are now complete.

Counter-terror operations were intensified in the Valley after a spree of killings of Hindus, Sikhs who are the religious minorities in the Union Territory. The civilian killings were reported in large numbers in September and October last.

However operations against the Death Eaters were intensified and by the month of October, the security forces had shot full of holes 13 terrorists.

The Jammu and Kashmir police said that the force is committed to hunt down these Death Eaters who try to create fear among the masses and spread mischief and tumult in the Valley. Such elements and their names should be excised from society the police also said.

Marine Corps Exceeds 1,000 COVID-19 Vaccine Separations, Navy at 469
[USNI] The Marine Corps has now separated more than 1,000 Marines due to refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Marine Corps separated 165 Marines over the past week due to their refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19. At 1,038, the Marine Corps leads the military branches for the most separations.

The Navy comes in second with a total of 469 separations, which includes 50 this past week. Of the separations this week, 24 had served for more than six years, while 26 served for less than six years. The highest rank was chief petty officer, said Lt. Travis Callaghan, spokesperson for chief of naval personnel, in an email.

The Air Force has separated 205 active-duty airmen, according to its weekly update. The Army has not yet separated a soldier.

The Navy, as well as the other branches, potentially could have more sailors that it would separate for refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19, but there are currently lawsuits preventing punitive action against a handful of service members who have refused to get vaccinated due to religious objections.

One lawsuit focuses on the Navy special warfare community and involves 26 Navy SEALs. The attorneys are currently aiming to make it a class action, which would apply to all members of the Navy. The case was heard by the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, which upheld a preliminary injunction preventing the SEALs from being punished for not being vaccinated.

Another lawsuit includes plaintiffs across the military branches, notably a Navy commanding officer of a guided-missile destroyer. The overseeing judge has also prevented the services from taking adverse action against the plaintiffs.

Liberty Counsel, the legal ministry representing the plaintiffs, is also seeking to turn the case into a class-action lawsuit, USNI News previously reported.

If the class-action lawsuit were to prevail, the Navy could have 4,000 sailors unvaccinated against COVID-19, which naval leaders have said is a risk to force health.

In a declaration associated with the navy commander lawsuit, Adm. Derek Caudle, commander of Fleet Forces Command, wrote that having 4,000 unvaccinated sailors "will create an unacceptable risk to readiness and could result in unnecessary deaths."

Currently, 4,593 active-duty sailors are not fully vaccinated, which could mean they are in the process of getting vaccinated, have an exemption or are waiting for a waiver request to be adjudicated. Sailors with an exemption are given non-operational billets, USNI News previously reported.

Another 3,241 members of the reserve are not fully vaccinated, according to the weekly COVID-19 updated.

The Marine Corps currently has 96 percent of its active-duty force fully vaccinated, with another 2 percent partially vaccinated. Its reserve force is 89 percent fully vaccinated with another 1 percent partially vaccinated.

When compared to the size of the force, the number of unvaccinated sailors and Marines is not a large percentage, Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro told news hounds Wednesday.

The Marine Corps has separated about 0.56 percent of its force due to vaccine refusal. The Navy about 0.13 percent.

The percentage of the active-duty sailors currently undeployable due to lack of vaccination is approximately 1.3 percent.

"And it’s incredibly important for all our sailors and our Marines to be properly vaccinated because this is an issue of combat readiness," Del Toro said. "We simply cannot put the lives of our other sailors who are vaccinated at risk."

The Navy granted 12 permanent medical, 212 temporary medical and 28 administrative exemptions for active-duty sailors. The sea service granted one permanent, 10 temporary and 31 administrative exemptions to reservists.

Although there have been 3,476 requests from active-duty sailors and 875 from reservists, the Navy has not granted a religious exemption. It did grant one to a member of the individual ready reserve on the condition that the sailor be vaccinated if called up to active-duty or reserve status.

The Marines Corps does not break down exemptions, but it has granted 992 medical or administrative exemptions.

The Marine Corps received 3,653 requests for religious waivers, with six approved.

The Air Force approved 19 religious exemptions, with the Army approving none.

Sound like some "creative paperwork" is being done to hide the real numbers both by the DOD and/or at the unit level, maybe some are getting listed as having had the shot by of the unit level QT wink and nod.

Besides given we have learned a few things about the VAX and the Virus.

1. The VAX does not fully avoid, nor protect a person from the China Flu, in many cases, it lessens the infection.

2. Frequent VAX Boosters are needed for each new strain or every 3 months during China Flu Season (Sept-Feb). How will this be accomplished in a War / Battle Zone?

3. Acquired Immunity provides far better immunization than the VAX.

4. The VAX & Boosters are still a High Risk, experimental VAX. Certain age groups and persons don't really need the VAX. Certain age groups and persons are prone to adverse reactions.

5. The CDC & NIH, both have avoided full detailed disclosure concerning the adverse reactions and other true data surrounding the VAX. They have gone so far as asking for a 50 year CYA Non-Disclosure clause concerning the VAX.

Yep. Pfizer has half the world in its pocket... or we should say, Pfizer has picked the pockets of half the world. We're actually paying them for colossal failure.

Funny that India which resisted paying Pfizer billions has achieved excellent results with its own treatments. Dr. Robert Malone is confident that these included ivermectin. Perhaps also hydroxychloroquine.

While the US and the rest of the Pfizersphere are reporting horrific side effects and being urged to take Pfizer jabs forever

#5  Since grom is not here, permit me to retort:

1. The VAX does not fully avoid, nor protect a person from the China Flu, in many cases, it lessens the infection.

This, in general, is what vaccines do. They are not a magick amulet. They prime your body to respond to something in the future. Like practicing football plays before the game improves your chances of winning.

3. Acquired Immunity provides far better immunization than the VAX.

The trick here is not dying while you are acquiring your acquired immunity. It is really the key!

4. The VAX & Boosters are still a High Risk, experimental VAX. Certain age groups and persons don't really need the VAX.

In a civilized society, we would recognize the risk from being in a hurry and skipping the usual 5 years and a bazillion dollars of testing, and we would take care of those who had an adverse reaction. Or died.

5.The CDC & NIH, both have avoided full detailed disclosure concerning the adverse reactions and other true data surrounding the VAX.

The amount of messaging, lying, political spin, journalistic ignorance and information suppression has made it nearly impossible for your generic person to figure out what is going on. It is almost more annoying than the pandemic itself.

Even a once respectable institution like Johns Hopkins, a brand name in public health stats, got into the game when they posted a paper showing there were no excess deaths from COVID. The paper was taking down after a few days because "people were drawing the wrong conclusions".

Michael Flynn appears before Jan. 6 panel, invokes Fifth Amendment rights
[JustTheNews] Former Trump national security advisor attempted last December to quash subpoenas committee issued him.

Former Trump National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. (Ret) Michael Flynn appeared Thursday before the Democrat-controlled House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and exercised his Fifth Amendment rights in response to the panel's questions, his attorney says.

Flynn was subpoenaed to appear before the committee in November, 2021 and was also asked to produce documents and testimony in reference to a Dec. 18, 2020 meeting in the Oval Office, during which the seizure of voting machines was allegedly discussed.

In the letter sent to Flynn by the committee in December, members wrote that he and others discussed declaring a national emergency as part of a plan to promote the message that the presidential election has been "tainted by widespread fraud."

He was also allegedly involved in efforts to draft memos to seize voting machines that Trump ultimately did not sign.

Flynn was not Trump's national security advisor at the time, having resigned in February 2017 over a matter related to the Russia collusion ordeal.

In December, Flynn filed suit against House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
and members of the select committee seeking "declaratory and injunctive relief" from the subpoena going after his records and testimony. Flynn's legal efforts to quash the committee's subpoenas were thwarted.

US paying $2 million a month to protect Pompeo, ex-aide from Iranian threats
[IsraelTimes] The US State Department says it’s paying more than $2 million per month to provide 24-hour security to former secretary of state Mike Pompeo and a former top aide, both of whom face "serious and credible" threats from Iran.

The department told Congress in a report that the cost of protecting Pompeo and former Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
envoy Brian Hook between August 2021 and February 2022 amounted to $13.1 million. The report, dated February 14 and marked "sensitive but unclassified," was obtained today by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

Pompeo and Hook led the Trump administration’s "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran, and the report says US intelligence assesses that the threats to them have remained constant since they left government and could intensify.

The threats have persisted even as US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. An incredibly corrupt version of Jar-Jar Binks, only well into his dotage. The dumbass who abandoned Afghanistan....
’s administration has been engaged in indirect negotiations with Iran over a US return to a landmark 2015 nuclear deal.

As a former secretary of state, Pompeo was automatically given 180 days of protection by the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security after leaving office. But that protection has been repeatedly extended in 60-day increments by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken due to "a serious and credible threat from a foreign power or agent of a foreign power arising from duties performed by former Secretary Pompeo while employed by the department," the report said.

Hook, who along with Pompeo was often the public face of the Trump administration’s imposition of crippling sanctions against Iran, was granted the special protection by Blinken for the same reason as Pompeo immediately after he left government service. That has also been repeatedly renewed in 60-day increments.

The latest 60-day extensions will expire soon and the State Department, in conjunction with the Director of National Intelligence, must determine by March 16 if the protection should be extended again, according to the report.

The report was prepared because the special protection budget will run out in June and require a new infusion of money if extensions are deemed necessary.

NIA charges two ISIS operatives for projecting skewed narrative of imagined injustice in India
[OneIndia] The National Investigation has filed a supplementary chargesheet against two gunnies of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in connection with the Voice of Hind case.

The NIA in its supplementary chargesheet while naming Afshan Parvaiz and Towhead Latief Sofi said that they were involved in the publication of the magazine, Voice of Hind. The magazine aimed at inciting and radicalising the youth, the agency also said.

Investigations showed that the ISIS had organised a campaign in cyber space to further terror activities on the ground in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". ISIS gunnies operating from various conflict zones along with the cadres in India assumed pseudo online identities and created a network, the NIA said. Further the agency said that an India centric online propaganda magazine Voice of Hind was published on a monthly basis.

The aim of the magazine was to incite and radicalise impressionable youth by projecting a a skewed narrative of imagined injustices in India to arouse a feeling of alienation and communal hatred. During the searches the NIA seized a large number of incriminating documents and digital devices such as mobile phones, tablets, laptop , hard disks and T-Shirts having ISIS logo.

Terrorists Invade Niger Market, Kill Trader, Abduct Many

At least one trader has been reportedly killed and an unspecified number kidnapped when terrorists invaded a rural market in Chibani, a community in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State on Friday afternoon.

According to Daily Trust, the terrorists also reportedly invaded the Mararaban-Daudu community, also in the same local government and kidnapped residents.

A resident, Shehu Abubakar, said that the attackers launched the attack around 12pm when the market was filled to its capacity and operated for about three hours.

It was learnt that the terrorists carted away food items after the traders fled.

"We don’t know where many traders are right now because they haven’t started returning. A lot of goods were destroyed, apart from the ones they stole.

"Up till 5pm, traders had not gone back to the market to pick their goods. One person was killed and his remains taken to the police station at Sarkin Pawa,” he said.

Libya Armed Groups Step Back after Tripoli Escalation

Libya's parliament-appointed prime minister said Friday that armed groups backing him had withdrawn from positions around Tripoli, after the U.N. warned of a new escalation in the divided country.

Libya has had rival administrations since the eastern-based assembly swore in a prime minister earlier this month in a challenge to interim premier Abdulhamid Dbeibah.

Dbeibah has refused to hand over power to Fathi Bashagha, arguing that his own administration, installed last year under a United Nations-led peace process, has a mandate to rule until elections.

Pro-Bashagha forces had deployed on the eastern edges of Tripoli on Thursday, prompting the U.N. mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to warn against any escalation.

But Bashagha's office said in a statement in the early hours of Friday that the groups had "opted not to use arms, and to return to their bases."

Three children wounded in Turkish forces’ shelling on Raqqa countryside

AIN ISSA, Syria (North Press) – Three children were wounded on Saturday in the bombing of the Turkish forces and Turkish-backed opposition factions on the village of al-Heisha in the western countryside of the town of Ain Issa, north Syria.

More African migrants eye the Canary Islands
Another invasion route to keep track of, because apparently migration is a fundamental right.
[DW] Thousands of migrants colonists from West Africa are taking the risky journey to Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
via the Spanish Canary Islands. As a result, aid organizations have said that 2021 saw more fatalities in the Atlantic than ever before.

Madala Tounkara, of Mali, was still a minor when he boarded a small wooden fishing boat seven years ago and set off on a perilous sea voyage from the coast of Mauritania in West Africa. Like many African migrants colonists, his longed-for destination was the Canary Islands — a Spanish archipelago off Africa's northwest coast. To reach Gran Canaria, the boat carrying Tounkara had to contend with the raging waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Government Corruption
Two Colorado County Clerks Sue Deceitful Secretary of State Jena Griswold
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Two Colorado County Clerks have the data that could end crooked Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s career.

The two Republican County Clerks — Elbert County Clerk Dallas Schroeder and Douglas County Clerk Merlin Klotz asked the court on Friday to allow them to compare the data they saved from the 2020 elections to the servers after Secretary of State Griswold altered the machines.

Griswold does not want anyone to examine the voting machines after she had them worked on for some reason?

It is interesting how Democrats have fought EVERY SINGLE audit into the 2020 election?

Normally a 2020 Election type situation would have a big * beside it in the history books.

But it is now 99.99% electronic media and history is history only for a nanosecond.

Book Burning is no longer needed by the National Socialists or the Liberal Democrats. They have control of Social Media.

Zelensky Ready to Negotiate, Open to High-Level Peace Talks in Jerusalem
Tom Ozimek
Mar 12, 2022

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that he’s ready to hold high-level peace talks with Russia, flagging Jerusalem as a possible location and expressing hope that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett could help broker a deal

Putin struck an optimistic note on the several rounds of technical negotiations between Ukrainian and Russian delegates in Belarus, saying he saw a positive shift in the discussions.

Moscow has demanded that Ukraine cease military action, pledge never to join NATO and enshrine neutrality in its constitution, acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory, and recognize the separatist-controlled regions of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states.

Zelensky earlier signaled openness to a compromise with Putin on some of his key demands for halting the offensive in Ukraine, including on NATO membership and the status of the contested territories

Media reports indicate the al-Shabaab fighters killed four construction workers, injured two in an attack in Lamu, Kenya on Friday. The coastal county has been a hot spot for the bully boyz due to its proximity to Somalia where the bully boyz have a huge base.

Local media reported that attackers also burnt two vehicles as they caused havoc across the village. Reports indicate that military manning the village were elsewhere for various operations when the bully boyz carried out the attack, leading to questions about the safety of locals.

Through proxy media sites, al-Shabaab grabbed credit for the attack, adding that it has killed six Kenyans and one Chinese in the attack which took place in the vicinity of Majengo, Lamu County. Chinese companies have lately been winning construction tenders in Kenya.

Kenya media reported one Chinese national was missing but no confirmation yet from Kenya police. It's the first time al-Shabaab is killing a foreign national within the county since 2020 when the bully boyz attacked the Manda Bay base controlled by US Africa Command.

Despite a number of security operations by Kenya aimed at clearing al-Shabaab from Boni Forest, the group’s Jaish Ayman unit continues to operate it. Unit commander Maalim Ayman was designated by the US for allegedly planning the Jan 2020 attack on Manda Bay which killed three Americans.

A report published by the Wall Street Journal claimed the US Africa Command soldiers manning Manda Bay were not adequately equipped to deal with immediate threats in the county. Five al-Shabaab turbans from different countries were killed during the attack.

The East African nation has been laying strategies to flush out the bully boyz who control huge swathes of rural central and southern Somalia. The US is also contemplating sending more troops to Somalia, over a year after the unprecedented exit.

But, now the flip side of the coin this is not being addressed.

When we hand over a broken computer to a Repair shop we are "trusting" them with our lives contents. READING & releasing that data is a breech of that trust.

If he wasn't in it for the fame and/or wrongfully trusting the BIDEN DOJ/FBI. Then he should have quietly passed the data to a Q-Anon type source for release.

#4  Breach of trust? Hunter Biden abandoned his laptop. The owner went through it after it became his property.

Moreover there are lots of anti-cheese pizza laws on the books. Repair shops are doing a disservice if they don't scan your hard drive for CP. Lots of pedos got busted this way.

1st of all to clarify I am NOT defending HUNTER.

I am addressing only the issue of proper handling of customer assets and the part why the guy's customer dumped him.

I myself, having been "invited" to do "legal" ITSEC/TCSM since 1988. The one thing I learned is to Guard and Control your customer's data.

The "Abandoned Laptop" is still the property of the Owner UNTIL they are contacted, or there is a legal notice run in the Legal Section of the local Newspaper.

The name Hunter Biden alone surely allowed alternative avenues of contact.

I have a vague recollection that the laptop's owner was contacted, but said owner never actually did anything about it. I am too lazy to go and check, though.

Somalia-based ISIS Affiliate Pledges Allegiance to New Leader
[Garowe] The ISIS-linked faction in Somalia, has pledged allegiance to the new leader who was announced last Thursday, as the group seeks to revamp itself after years of losses in an operation instigated by several military teams in the works.

The Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
branch has been battling to make a presence in the Horn of Africa nation but their efforts have often been thwarted. The group has a very limited presence in Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
state, northeastern Somalia.

On Saturday the group said in a statement that it recognizes Abu al-Hassan al-Hashemi al-Quraishi as the group's leader, just days after he was picked. The new leader succeeds Abu Ibrahim al -Quraishi who died last month alongside his successor Abubakr al-Baghdadi.

ISIS affiliate was formed in 2015 in Puntland by a Somali-British man named Abdulkadir Mumin after defecting from al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all of which have enough problems without them...
. The group has, however, faced resistance from al-Shabaab, a dominant group in Somalia.

The al-Shabaab group controls large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia and has for decades tried to expand territory. The rivalry between the two groups has made it difficult for both to expand, an advantage to various security forces.

ISIS has resorted to guerrilla attacks since losing its last significant piece of territory in Syria and Iraq. The US military killed the group's first two leaders in special operations in Syria.

Somalia has been a hotbed of terrorism and the United States is now contemplating the possibility of redeploying soldiers to the country to help in fighting against terrorism. The US had withdrawn over 700 soldiers last year following a decree by former President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...

Therefore, we can conclude that the Ukrainian authorities no longer deny that the Ukrainian Armed Forces and nationalists themselves are shelling, obviously in order to keep civilians in the city.

Francis Fukuyama: Well, he's been right before? Or not...
[American Purpose] Preparing for defeat

I’m writing this from Skopje, North Macedonia, where I’ve been for the last week teaching one of our Leadership Academy for Development courses. Following the Ukraine war is no different here in terms of available information, except that I’m in an adjacent time zone, and the fact that there is more support for Putin in the Balkans than in other parts of Europe. A lot of the latter is due to Serbia, and Serbia's hosting of Sputnik.

I’ll stick my neck out and make several prognostications:

Russia is heading for an outright defeat in Ukraine. Russian planning was incompetent, based on a flawed assumption that Ukrainians were favorable to Russia and that their military would collapse immediately following an invasion. Russian soldiers were evidently carrying dress uniforms for their victory parade in Kyiv rather than extra ammo and rations. Putin at this point has committed the bulk of his entire military to this operation—there are no vast reserves of forces he can call up to add to the battle. Russian troops are stuck outside various Ukrainian cities where they face huge supply problems and constant Ukrainian attacks.

The collapse of their position could be sudden and catastrophic, rather than happening slowly through a war of attrition. The army in the field will reach a point where it can neither be supplied nor withdrawn, and morale will vaporize. This is at least true in the north; the Russians are doing better in the south, but those positions would be hard to maintain if the north collapses.

There is no diplomatic solution to the war possible prior to this happening. There is no conceivable compromise that would be acceptable to both Russia and Ukraine given the losses they have taken at this point.

The United Nations Security Council has proven once again to be useless. The only helpful thing was the General Assembly vote, which helps to identify the world’s bad or prevaricating actors.

The Biden administration’s decisions not to declare a no-fly zone or help transfer Polish MiGs were both good ones; they've kept their heads during a very emotional time. It is much better to have the Ukrainians defeat the Russians on their own, depriving Moscow of the excuse that NATO attacked them, as well as avoiding all the obvious escalatory possibilities. The Polish MiGs in particular would not add much to Ukrainian capabilities. Much more important is a continuing supply of Javelins, Stingers, TB2s, medical supplies, comms equipment, and intel sharing. I assume that Ukrainian forces are already being vectored by NATO intelligence operating from outside Ukraine.

The cost that Ukraine is paying is enormous, of course. But the greatest damage is being done by rockets and artillery, which neither MiGs nor a no-fly zone can do much about. The only thing that will stop the slaughter is defeat of the Russian army on the ground.

Putin will not survive the defeat of his army. He gets support because he is perceived to be a strongman; what does he have to offer once he demonstrates incompetence and is stripped of his coercive power?

The invasion has already done huge damage to populists all over the world, who prior to the attack uniformly expressed sympathy for Putin. That includes Matteo Salvini, Jair Bolsonaro, Éric Zemmour, Marine Le Pen, Viktor Orbán, and of course Donald Trump. The politics of the war has exposed their openly authoritarian leanings.
"i.e.: Everyone I don't like"
The war to this point has been a good lesson for China. Like Russia, China has built up seemingly high-tech military forces in the past decade, but they have no combat experience. The miserable performance of the Russian air force would likely be replicated by the People’s Liberation Army Air Force, which similarly has no experience managing complex air operations. We may hope that the Chinese leadership will not delude itself as to its own capabilities the way the Russians did when contemplating a future move against Taiwan.

Hopefully Taiwan itself will wake up as to the need to prepare to fight as the Ukrainians have done, and restore conscription. Let’s not be prematurely defeatist.

Turkish drones will become bestsellers.

A Russian defeat will make possible a "new birth of freedom," and get us out of our funk about the declining state of global democracy. The spirit of 1989 will live on, thanks to a bunch of brave Ukrainians.

#2  /\ The Russians had the Wehrmacht directly up their arse until Uncle Sam came to their assistance. In 1948 the US, UK, and FR joined their sectors in an effort to unify the German people and heal the land. The Russians countered by cordoning off their sector and claiming it as a client state. How quickly the Russians had forgotten US and Allied assistance.

World War II Allies: U.S. Lend-Lease to the Soviet Union, 1941-1945

Even before the United States entered World War II in December 1941, America sent arms and equipment to the Soviet Union to help it defeat the Nazi invasion. Totaling $11.3 billion, or $180 billion in today’s currency, the Lend-Lease Act of the United States supplied needed goods to the Soviet Union from 1941 to 1945 in support of what Stalin described to Roosevelt as the “enormous and difficult fight against the common enemy — bloodthirsty Hitlerism.”

Then, the immigrants. Africa is bursting at the seams with people who want a new life. Russia is undergoing a demographic collapse. Oh FFS... not this idiot again. The "intellectual" who told us liberal democracy would sweep the world and bring about the "end of history" - the most retarded phrase coined by any intellectual since Marx and Engels. This was the delusion, as Mearsheimer puts it, behind the Nuland-Obama wrecking crew's idiotic pretension of being "21st century people."

The foolish doctrine of liberal internationalism has done such extraordinary damage to the US. This has killed more of our and the world's people, caused us to lose wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, helped ruin Libya and is the ultimate cause of the disaster in Ukraine.

    -Lurid Crime Tales-
NYC man with lengthy rap sheet charged in unprovoked flipping of wagon carrying toddler
[NYPOST] A man with a history of assaulting kids allegedly attacked a Queens toddler by allegedly flipping the wagon she was sitting in, police said.

Christopher Elder, 31, accosted a woman who was pushing her toddler granddaughter as she tossed out trash in Flushing early Friday, according to the NYPD.

The incident unfolded about 6:20 a.m. at 45th Avenue and Robinson Street when Elder, of Queens, began shouting at the woman, Maria Zamora, 48, who doesn’t speak English.

He allegedly grabbed and shook the cart with both hands and then kicked it into the street causing the woman’s 3-year-old granddaughter, Sophia, to fall to the pavement, authorities said.

Sophia suffered a cut to her head and was taken to Flushing Hospital Medical Center, where she received five stitches, the complaint says.

Gabriel Zamora, Sophia’s uncle, said Saturday that he rushed to the hospital when his mother told him what happened.

"Someone hit me. Someone kicked me," Zamora said the tot told him.

"Now she’s very scared. She didn’t want to come home yesterday," Zamora said.

He said she liked to ride in the little blue wagon, which was outside the family’s home Saturday.

Sitting inside was a brown paper grocery bag Zamora said that Elder left behind. It contained two cups of instant ramen noodles, one of them open.

The little girl, who had a bandage on her forehead and a cut under her left eye, came out to wave to a photographer.

Elder was caught nearby at 45th Avenue and Kissena Boulevard, and then taken to Elmhurst Hospital for evaluation.

He was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment. He was arraigned Saturday in Queens Criminal Court and sent to jail without bail until his next court date on March 28.

Elder appeared to have been near the Zamora’s building Friday morning to visit a relative.

His uncle, Tyrick Elder, said he was at the apartment house to see his brother when Christopher appeared around 6 a.m. and was banging on the door so hard it fell off its hinges, according to a criminal complaint.

Tyrick Elder had an order of protection against his nephew, the complaint said.

Christopher Elder was also charged with criminal contempt and criminal mischief Friday.

A woman who lives in the building said she had seen him there previously knocking on his relative’s door.

Elder has a long rap sheet that includes at least eight prior arrests, many for unprovoked assaults, including a Dec. 11 arrest in Flushing in which he allegedly assaulted a 9-year-old girl by throwing her to the ground, police said.

On Feb. 25, Elder allegedly hit a 30-year-old man in the head with a glass bottle at a U-Haul location off the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, cops said.

Following his arrest Friday, he was charged in that incident, too.

#1  We're close to the endgame now. The Russians are mopping up in the East and Kyiv's on its last legs.

Despite the western media's BS, propaganda and cheerleading, the truth is that Zelensky is desperate and would be wise to accept Bennett's advice and give up. John Mearsheimer agrees:

#2  We hear lots of posturing puffery about "morality." The truly moral solution now is for Ukraine to renounce Zelensky's reckless and foolish vow to take over Crimea and Sevastopol (issued March 24, 2021); divorce itself from NATO and the US; and agree to the Minsk II terms with new emendations reflecting the new military reality in the Donbas.

As Mearsheimer says, this "modus vivendi with Russia" would be the best outcome by far for the US, for Russia -- "and most importantly, for the Ukrainian people."

#12  I’ve got as far as the first question in Nero’s link. Interesting.

We’ve been hearing voices both past and present saying that the reason for what has happened is, as George Kennan put it, the strategic blunder of the eastward expansion of nato. The great-power realist-school historian John Mearsheimer insists that a great deal of the blame for what we’re witnessing must go to the United States. I thought we’d begin with your analysis of that argument.

I have only the greatest respect for George Kennan. John Mearsheimer is a giant of a scholar. But I respectfully disagree. The problem with their argument is that it assumes that, had nato not expanded, Russia wouldn’t be the same or very likely close to what it is today. What we have today in Russia is not some kind of surprise. It’s not some kind of deviation from a historical pattern. Way before nato existed—in the nineteenth century—Russia looked like this: it had an autocrat. It had repression. It had militarism. It had suspicion of foreigners and the West. This is a Russia that we know, and it’s not a Russia that arrived yesterday or in the nineteen-nineties. It’s not a response to the actions of the West. There are internal processes in Russia that account for where we are today.

I would even go further. I would say that nato expansion has put us in a better place to deal with this historical pattern in Russia that we’re seeing again today. Where would we be now if Poland or the Baltic states were not in nato? They would be in the same limbo, in the same world that Ukraine is in. In fact, Poland’s membership in nato stiffened nato’s spine. Unlike some of the other nato countries, Poland has contested Russia many times over. In fact, you can argue that Russia broke its teeth twice on Poland: first in the nineteenth century, leading up to the twentieth century, and again at the end of the Soviet Union, with Solidarity. So George Kennan was an unbelievably important scholar and practitioner—the greatest Russia expert who ever lived—but I just don’t think blaming the West is the right analysis for where we are.

Their baseline culture is Western by heritage, but since the times of Peter the Great they have been rebuffed almost continually until the great tragedy of Marxist theocracy, but even that rotted fairly quickly. Some 12 missiles were fired from Iranian territory and fell near the US consulate in Erbil in northwestern Iraq on Saturday night.

The Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Service announced that 12 ballistic missiles were fired from "outside the borders of Iraq and the Kurdistan region, specifically from the east," according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Independent open-source intelligence (OSINT) accounts shared videos reportedly shared by Iranian civilians showing missiles being fired from Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
at the time of the attack, with at least one of the videos being geolocated to a site in Khasabad in the East Azerbaijan province of Iran.
Tweeted videos can be seen at the link.
The governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, stated earlier in the night that multiple missiles fell in the area, saying it was unclear whether the target was the US consulate or the airport in the city.

While damages were reported in the attack, no casualties were reported.

The health minister of Kurdistan stated that there were no injuries or deaths reported in the attack on Saturday night. A US official told Rooters on Saturday night that there were no US military casualties in the attack.

The missile attack came as negotiations to return to the JCPOA nuclear deal with Iran stalled in Vienna.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell tweeted on Friday that the talks in Vienna needed a "pause," due to "external factors." Borrell added that a final text is "essentially ready and on the table."

Iranian foreign ministry front man Saeed Khatibzadeh stated on Saturday that there were at least one or two key issues that the US and Iran had not yet reached an agreement on. He added that the two states disagree on how sanctions should be lifted, with Iran wanting more sectors released from sanctions and the US wanting less.

Iranian officials stated that it is unclear when negotiations will resume.

Funker530 adds more, with video at the link:
Breaking footage was just released, which reportedly shows multiple cruise missiles launched from Iran striking the US consulate in Erbil, Iraq.

Very few details have been released at this time, but the video apparently shows these missiles flying out from the Iranian Khasabad missile base in Eastern Azerbaijan Province.

Update from the Times of Israel at 11:40 a.m. ET:
Iran claims it targeted ‘strategic Zionist center’ in Iraq missile strike
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards take responsibility for the missile attack on the US consulate complex in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil early this morning.
    So now we know.
A "strategic center for conspiracy and mischiefs of the Zionists was targeted by powerful precision missiles," says a statement on the Guards’ official website.
They hit the local television station. So not terribly precise.
It warns that any future attacks by Israel "will face harsh, decisive & destructive responses."

Iranian state media agency IRNA, citing local reports, earlier claimed without evidence that “secret Israeli bases” were targeted in the attack.

The attack caused some material damage but no casualties.

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russia intensifies assault, warns U.S. weapons sent to Ukraine are 'legitimate targets'
[LA Times] Russian forces kept up their bombardment of cities across Ukraine on Saturday, capturing the eastern outskirts of a key southern port and waging an increasingly violent campaign with an eye to encircling the capital even as they sought to bring a political veneer to their occupation in cities they have captured.

The moves come as the White House announced it would send an additional $200 million in arms and equipment for Ukraine. That announcement came hours Moscow signaled it could soon expand the war to embroil Kyiv's allies, warning the U.S. that it would consider convoys carrying weapons to Ukraine to be "legitimate targets."

While wide-scale Russian bombing campaigns intensified in cities including Mariupol, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv, Russian forces plan to conduct a referendum that would turn the city of Kherson — the first major city captured by Russian forces earlier this month — into a vassal breakaway republic, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

"Given zero popular support, it will be fully staged," he wrote on Twitter, warning that it was a repeat of Russia's playbook in 2014, when Russian-backed separatists held a referendum that led to the creation of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics in eastern Ukraine.

"Severe sanctions against Russia must follow if they proceed. Kherson is & will always be Ukraine."

Sergey Khlan, a deputy in the Kherson Regional Council, said in a post on Facebook on Saturday that Russian authorities were contacting deputies and asking for their cooperation in holding the referendum to create a putative Kherson People's Republic.

"The creation of Kherson People’s Republic will turn our region into a hopeless hole without life and future," Khlan wrote.

"Do not give them a single vote! Do not give them any opportunity to legitimize [the Kherson People’s Republic]... Enter the history of Ukraine not as traitors whom nobody wants, but truly as citizens whose names will be remembered by the next generations."

Meanwhile, in Moscow, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Saturday that shipments of Western weapons to Ukraine could be attacked by Russian forces, according to Russia's ITAR-TASS news agency. Western nations’ "thoughtless transfer" of portable air defense and antitank missile systems to Kyiv, Ryabkov said, demonstrated "the escalatory component of Washington’s policy."

The White House announced Saturday it approved an additional $200 million in arms and equipment for Ukraine, on top of $350 million President Biden approved last month.

"We have warned the U.S. that the U.S.-orchestrated inundation of Ukraine with weapons from some countries is not just a dangerous move, but also an action that makes these convoys legitimate targets," Ryabkov said. The Russian diplomat did not say whether Russian forces would target such convoys in Poland or Romania, NATO countries that border Ukraine.

The tough talk came on a day that Russian forces sustained "heavy losses in manpower and equipment" in areas northeast of Kyiv and were prevented from regaining a foothold on previously captured frontiers, according to the Ukrainian military.

    Arabia
Saudi Arabia says it executed 81 convicts in a single day — its largest mass execution
    [CBSNEWS] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
on Saturday executed 81 people convicted of crimes ranging from killings to belonging to bad boy groups — the largest known mass execution carried out in the kingdom in its modern history.
Also known as: "Taking out the trash"
The executions carried out surpassed even the toll of a January 1980 mass execution for the 63 bully boyz convicted of seizing the Grand Mosque in Mecca in 1979, the worst-ever bad boy attack to target the kingdom and Islam's holiest site.

It wasn't clear why the kingdom choose Saturday for the executions, though they came as much of the world's attention remained focused on Russia's war on Ukraine. The number of death penalty
cases being carried out in Saudi Arabia had dropped during the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. #4  You’re right, Lord Garth. From the Times of Israel:

The report does not give a reason for Iran’s suspension [of secret talks], but it comes after Saudi Arabia put to death 81 people convicted of crimes ranging from killings to ties to militant groups, a group that activists believe included over three dozen Shiites.

Shiites, who live primarily in the kingdom’s oil-rich east, have long complained of being treated as second-class citizens. Saudi Arabia’s executions of Shiites have stirred regional unrest in the past.

Iran, the largest Shiite Muslim country in the world, and Sunni powerhouse Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic ties in 2016 after Saudi Arabia executed prominent Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr.

    Briefly about Ukraine. 03/12/2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Eedited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Brois Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] 1. Mariupol. Storm of the city. Promotion in all directions. The enemy defends stubbornly, but he is pressed. It is already formally possible to travel to Crimea from Donetsk. Although a full-fledged land corridor has not yet been opened. The de-blockade of Mariupol, which Azov and Zelensky are asking for, is practically impossible in the current realities.

    2. Volnovakha. Completely freed and cleaned. The troops are already freely passing through it in the direction of Ugledar, closing the front with the RF Armed Forces, which are also advancing in the direction of Velikaya Novoselka - Ugledar with an emphasis on Ugledar.

    3. Donetsk - Gorlovka. Shelling of the cities of the DPR. Front near Avdiivka, Maryinka, Pesok, etc. noticeably perked up, but there is no significant progress.

    4. LPR. Fighting in Rubizhne and around Severodonetsk. In Popasnaya (which was prematurely declared liberated a couple of days ago), fighting continues - LNR troops control part of the city.

    5. Izyum. Fighting in the city area and on the southern outskirts. The situation in the city itself is incomprehensible, locals confirm the presence of the RF Armed Forces in the city and the fighting going on in the south. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to pin down the Russian troops in Izyum and Balakliya with attacks in order to prevent their advance to the south and in the direction of the Slavic-Kramatorsk agglomeration.

    6. Nikolaev. The city is blockaded, the RF Armed Forces are methodically attacking enemy positions on the outskirts, there is no assault yet. Part of the group left in the direction of Krivoy Rog and Nikopol.

    7. Kherson - Zaporozhye. The power of civil-military administrations is being strengthened in the liberated territories. The communications of the group operating in the Zaporizhia direction are being established. At Gulyaipole - fighting. The front line in the area of Kamensky and Orekhov without major changes.

    8. Kyiv. Fighting to the east and west of the city, with again accentuated by the desire of the RF Armed Forces to move south in order to achieve a complete encirclement of the city.

    9. Chernihiv - no major changes. The city is blocked, in the city itself a hotel where foreign mercenaries were located was destroyed at night.

    10. Sumy - no major changes.

    11. Odessa. They continue to wait for the landing, but it is still not there. However, the city continues to fortify, transferring reinforcements from western Ukraine. There are no signs of an offensive by the RF Armed Forces from the PMR.

    12. Belarus. Despite another wave of fakes that Belarus will attack Ukraine (yesterday at 21.00), the Belarusian Armed Forces do not show a noticeable increase in their presence on the border beyond the increase in the number of BTGs of the Belarusian army on the border with Ukraine from 5 to 10. The very border of Ukraine with Belarus is actually not guarded.

In general, for the evening of 12.03. One can note significant successes in the development of the offensive of the DPR army, as well as the troops of the RF Armed Forces in the Zaporozhye region.

Ukraine violates agreements on humanitarian corridors - Russian Defense Ministry
[REGNUM] Agreements on humanitarian corridors, which were supposed to be opened in Ukraine for the evacuation of civilians to safe areas, continue to be cynically violated by Kyiv. This was stated on March 12 by the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev at a briefing.

"The Ukrainian side continues to cynically violate the agreements reached on opening humanitarian corridors towards Russia," Mizintsev said. "Notification of the population in the cities of Kiev, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy and Mariupol was simply not carried out."

As REGNUM reported , on March 11, the deputy head of the People's Militia Department of the Donetsk People's Republic, Eduard Basurin , said that 69 people left the besieged Mariupol through the humanitarian corridor in a day.

The ICR qualifies the actions of the Ukrainian armed groups as a gross violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and the Convention on the Laws and Customs of War on Land.

    Ukrainian security forces shelled Donetsk
[REGNUM] During the shelling of Donetsk by the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU), two more people were injured. This was reported on March 12 at the headquarters of the territorial defense of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"During the shelling of the Kuibyshev region, a young man was injured," the headquarters’ Telegram channel said. "A woman was wounded in the Kiev region.”

    So I will ask...
Fred poked his head in the O-club on Monday to say hey.

He still is ill but is recovering. He wants to -- at least part time -- get back into Rantburg.

He hates to bleg, so I will. His coffers, his sole recompense for his efforts at Rantburg, is running low and are in need of replenishment.

At his last bleg he mentioned Zelle at his email address, and there is a Paypal link on the front page. If you ask real nice, he could provide a snail mail address for donations.

Rantburg will go on regardless, but your donations will help Fred with his expenses.
Update just after midnight on Sunday 13. March: I was distracted by that little excitement in Ukraine, and neglected to roll over the bleg since Wednesday. If you are able to give and have not yet, please help us help Fred keep this place going.

This information was posted this week. I played my small part by telling him Thailand lifted restrictions and Vietnam quickly followed. My friend was in security during the Vietnam war. Spook stuff I believe. I must add Vietnamese prefer Americans to Chinese. Seems Americans are truly welcomed.

Sierra Club nixes Israel trips amid pressure by progressives, anti-Zionists
[IsraelTimes] US-based environmental nonprofit accused of ’greenwashing’ Israeli-Paleostinian conflict, cancels visits to Jewish state while keeping planned trip to China.

The national environmental nonprofit Sierra Club, headquartered in Oakland, has canceled its scheduled trips to Israel in response to pressure from progressive and anti-Zionist groups.

News of the Sierra Club’s decision came in a mass email obtained by J. that was sent out by Mary Owens, the chair of the Sierra Club’s National Outings team, to hundreds of volunteers who lead part-recreational, part-educational, conservation-focused trips around the world.

For years, the Sierra Club has offered trips to Israel to explore the country’s biodiversity, bird migrations, desert landscape, and ancient ruins.

Last year’s trip was called "Natural and Historical Highlights of Israel," offered for two weeks in March for about $5,000 per person. It advertised a "comprehensive journey through this enduring land," with birdwatching, sea snorkeling, a visit to the Dead Sea, and evenings on a kibbutz. Sierra Club outings are a major source of fundraising for the organization.

On the Sierra Club’s website, more than 250 upcoming trips are listed, including more than 200 to sites in the US and others to places like Malaysia, Nepal, and Antarctica. A trip to China is planned for October.

The website no longer lists a trip to Israel, and a number of web pages with information on past Israel trips were down on Friday afternoon. A notice appears at the top of the Middle East destinations landing page noting "There are currently no Middle East trips scheduled."

The email from Owens, who said she was not authorized to speak to the press, described the Sierra Club’s decision to cancel its trips — one scheduled for this month, and another for March 2023 — as the result of an advocacy push from one "Jewish American activist" and a host of both progressive and anti-Zionist groups, including the pro-Paleostinian Adalah Justice Project; the Indigenous rights group the NDN Collective; the Campaign for the Boycott of Israel; Jewish Voice for Peace; the Sunrise Movement; and the Movement for Black Lives.

An employee with the NDN Collective confirmed he was aware of his organization’s efforts but was not authorized to say more. A request for comment from JVP, the Jewish anti-Zionist group, went unanswered.

The email from Owens read: "On January 20, the board of directors received an email from a Jewish American activist urging us to cancel our upcoming trips to Israel (scheduled for March 15 and 29, 2022 and March 2023), saying that we are greenwashing the conflict there and providing legitimacy to the Israeli state, which is engaged in apartheid against the Paleostinian people."

The decision comes as the Sierra Club, one of the oldest and most influential environmental nonprofit organizations in the US, has made a push to fold progressive values and language more overtly into its mission, including rhetoric around social justice and anti-racism.
