IDF: Troops in West Bank tie up 2 Paleo wannabe Hashashins
[IsraelTimes] In overnight operations in the West Bank, the IDF and police say troops nabbed two Paleostinians who allegedly shot up an army post several hours earlier.

The two suspects had shot up the military position near Nablus. The IDF says during their arrest in the West Bank city, a gun believed to have been used in the attack was seized.

In another raid in the Nur Shams refugee camp near Tulkarem, police and IDF troops detained a wanted Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terrorist.

Omar Abu Halal is suspected of being involved in previous shooting attacks and manufacturing bombs, the IDF says.

‘Matchless champion of the Jewish people': Israeli, US officials mourn Joe Lieberman
[IsraelTimes] Allies and opponents pay tribute to the former Connecticut senator, whose career in public service blazed a path for religious Jews in American politics.
Also a former Democratic vice presidential candidate (with Al Gore in 2000), followed by becoming a former Democrat in 2006, when the Democratic party made it clear they preferred their Jews considerably more liberal and considerably less Jewish. Connecticut's voters, however, liked Joe just fine, and overrode the Democrats to send him back to the Senate as an Independent.
Israeli officials joined their US counterparts in paying tribute to longtime US senator and first Jewish vice presidential nominee Joseph Lieberman, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 82.
from complications following a fall, it was reported.
In one of his last interviews released just last week, Lieberman heavily criticized US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer for the speech he gave on the Senate floor calling for early elections in Israel.

Calling the speech “outrageous,” Lieberman accused Schumer of “crossing a diplomatic red line,” and dismissed the speech as “a case of a high elected official in the US taking advantage of a friend.”

Inmate who escaped Hawaii jail, got struck by a vehicle while fleeing police has died
[Yawn!] Anybody know what's for dinner?
[NY Post] An inmate in Hawaii who broke out of jail, jumped onto an interstate during his escape and was hit by a car while fleeing police last week has died, authorities said.
I guess I should be interested, if only for the comedy value. Cue mournful ukelele music...
I had no idea mournful ukulele music was a thing.
Matthew J. Ornellas Jr., 33, beat feet from Kauai Community Correctional Center last Friday but, just moments after escaping the facility, became the victim of a serious hit-and-run.
"Har! I'm a dangerous desperado and you coppers can't catch me! Haleakkaloa!"
[VROOM! THUMP!]
"Aaaaiiieee! I am undone!"
"Does Haleakaloa have one K or two?"

On Thursday, the Hawaii Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said he died of injuries he suffered.
"He's dead, Jim!"
Officials at the facility said Ornellas scaled a fence with razor wire, and correctional officers gave chase but lost sight of him.
"Razor wire?"
"He's gettin' away!"
"I'm goin' around to the gate."
"Meet you there!"

The correctional officers then heard a loud sound and ultimately found Ornellas on the interstate, about 100 yards from the jail.
Yeah. The interstate. In Hawaii.
He was maimed and was subsequently hospitalized.
"Into th' ambulance wit' yez, me boyo!"
"You sure you're Hawaiian, Paddy?"

Orenellas was running north on the southbound lane of Kuhio Highway when he was hit, Kauai police said.
Important safety tip: Don't do dat.
He was serving time for a drug conviction, according to the Hawaii Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
A drug conviction? Like wow, man!
The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said it is continuing to investigate the escape.

MSNBC president Rashida Jones tries to distance herself from Ronna McDaniel hire
[NY Post] MSNBC president Rashida Jones has been on a mission to clear her name as one of the execs who courted former Republican National Committee boss Ronna McDaniel, and who lobbied the network to hire her in an ill-fated move that’s led to chaos at the network.

McDaniel was quickly dropped after MSNBC talent sparked a revolt over putting the Trump-backing politico on the air.

We’re told that on a 10a.m. call with talent on Thursday, Jones was telling staffers that reports have "overstated" her involvement in the network’s decision to hire McDaniel.

Insiders further told us it now feels like the "battle of the execs throwing each other under the bus at 30 Rock" in the wake of the McDaniel fiasco.

Sources described a frustrated Jones on the call as being "fed up." She was "very stern," said an insider. "It was the most firm she’s been on the situation."

9-year-old boy tries to drive himself to school, predictable results
[UNDEFINED] A 9-year-old California boy stole his mother’s car and attempted to drive it to school — but instead led an erratic police chase that ended with the child crashing into a cop cruiser.
I think I seen dis movie...
An officer first spotted a gray Volkswagen sedan strangely stopped in the middle of an intersection in Oroville at around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The officer instructed the driver to move the car, but the vehicle sped off and took police on a "short and erratic chase that ended in a dirt parking lot" just blocks away from Plumas Avenue Elementary School, CHP said.

Video shows teen gunman lean out car window and open fire in shooting that killed Vegas mother

[NY Post] Newly unveiled footage shows the moment a passenger fired a gun as he leaned out a car window during a drive-by shooting that killed a 43-year-old mother on a Las Vegas street.

Kevin Perez-Stubbs, 16, allegedly shot and killed innocent bystander and mother of one Shawna McCowan in April 2023 after she and a friend got caught in the gunfire.

She was walking with the friend and dogs on the same sidewalk as two teens toward whom Perez-Stubbs was allegedly shooting when she was shot, police documents reportedly stated, according to KLAS.

Two teens had gotten into a fight earlier at an apartment complex close by before the shooting erupted on the street.

New grainy surveillance footage obtained by KLAS this week showed McCowan and her companion walking up the street on the night of April 23 before a car with its headlights off drove toward the camera and two people were seen fleeing down the street.

A passenger then fired a gun while hanging out the window as the vehicle went down the empty street, according to the footage.

McCowan, who split time between Colorado and Las Vegas, was hit in the back and neck after multiple rounds were fired, according to police docs the station reported on.

The teacher, who also worked as a flight attendant, was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead, leaving behind a husband and son.

Four teenagers were charged with murder following the incident.

Accused gunman Perez-Stubbs, 16, his brother Johnathan Perez-Stubbs, 19, and Mezarius Finch, 17, were arrested last year, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Earlier this year, Tyshean Tillman, 19, was arrested and charged with open murder with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit murder, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department said.

Tillman was the alleged driver while Jonathan Perez-Stubbs and Finch were passengers in the car, police have said.

Tillman, Finch and Johnathan Perez-Stubbs all took plea deals, though more information was not revealed because the records were sealed, KLAS reported.

Kevin Perez-Stubbs’ trial on murder and conspiracy to commit murder charges is reportedly set for June.

’Child murderer’: Jewish woman accosted at Amsterdam home over daughter’s IDF service
[IsraelTimes] Incident, including fliers, is part of an antisemitic wave that is ’spiraling uncontrollably,’ a leader of the local Jewish community says

Three women accosted a Jewish nurse on her doorstep in Amsterdam on Wednesday, calling her a "child murderer" because of her daughter’s service in the Israel Defense Forces, she said.
Just a friendly visit…
The incident in the heavily Jewish suburb of Amstelveen followed weeks of incitement in fliers and social media posts against the nurse over her daughter’s military service in Israel, De Telegraaf daily reported.

One of the women who allegedly accosted the nurse told her that she should be ashamed of herself, adding "I don’t understand why you are still here in the Netherlands," the nurse said.
..to convey friendly advice.
Speaking to De Telegraaf anonymously, the nurse added: "It feels like in World War II when the addresses of Jews were given out."

The intimidation followed the surfacing online of a video of the nurse’s daughter in IDF uniform. Fliers advertising her address in Amstelveen and accusing her of complicity in "child murder" began appearing around her neighborhood in February, with online banners bearing the same message, she said.

People flying Paleostinian flags came looking for the woman at her workplace, too, she added.

"Residents beware, a child murderer lives in the neighborhood. This genocidal maniac returned from her murderous activities in Israel and will be soon be tried," the text of one flier reads, featuring pictures of the nurse’s daughter. "Her mother sent her bitch daughter to kill babies, she is also an accomplice," read the text, which included the address, workplace, and names of the two women.

Naomi Mestrum, the director of the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel, the Dutch Jewish community’s watchdog on antisemitism, told De Telegraaf that the three women "specifically targeted" the nurse in an organized action.

The woman is planning to complain to police shortly, Mestrum said, but "her feeling of safety has been seriously compromised."

In an interview published Thursday in De Telegraaf, Chanan Hertzberger, the chairman of the Central Jewish Organization, an umbrella group representing Dutch Jewry, called on the government to do more to protect its Jewish citizens from antisemitism, which he said is spiraling uncontrollably following the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",, sparked by the terror group’s October 7 onslaught in southern Israel.

"My son was beaten up after soccer practice. When they go out, Jewish youngsters are accosted. Our children are not safe in their educational institutions," Hertzberger said.

"We’ve had enough of this abuse. We are normal Dutch citizens and that’s how we demand to be treated," he said.

The intimidation is reaching "new lows," he added, citing a protest action by pro-Paleostinian demonstrators who interrupted a concert by Lenny Kuhr, a Dutch-Jewish singer, on Sunday in Waalwijk near Rotterdam.

One protester called Kuhr, who has children living in Israel, "a terrorist, a Zionist" before being escorted out of the venue.

PA’s Abbas announces new cabinet, with little-known figures taking key roles
[IsraelTimes] Interior minister from previous government retains position; incoming Jerusalem affairs minister Ashraf al-Awar ran as Fatah candidate in postponed 2021 elections

The Paleostinian Authority has announced the formation of a new cabinet as it faces international pressure to reform.

President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
, who has led the PA for nearly two decades and remains in overall control, announced the new government in a presidential decree on Thursday. None of the incoming ministers is a well-known figure.

Abbas tapped Mohammad Mustafa, a longtime adviser, to be prime minister earlier this month. Mustafa, a politically independent US-educated economist, vowed to form a technocratic government and create an independent trust fund to help rebuild Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
. Mustafa will also serve as foreign minister.

Interior Minister Ziad Hab al-Rieh is a member of Abbas’s secular Fatah movement and held the same portfolio in the previous government. The Interior Ministry oversees the security forces. The incoming minister for Jerusalem affairs, Ashraf al-Awar, had registered to run as a Fatah candidate in planned elections in 2021 that were canceled.

At least five of the incoming 23 ministers are from Gaza originally, but it was not immediately clear if they are still in the territory.

The PA administers parts of the West Bank. Its forces were driven from Gaza when Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, seized power in 2007, and it has no power there.

It has little popular support or legitimacy among Paleostinians, in part because it has not held elections in 18 years. Its policy of cooperating with Israel on security matters is extremely unpopular and has led many Paleostinians to view it as a subcontractor of military rule.

Opinion polls in recent years have consistently found that a vast majority of Paleostinians want the 88-year-old Abbas to resign.

The United States has called for a revitalized PA to administer postwar Gaza ahead of eventual statehood.

Israel has rejected that idea, accusing it of failing to condemn Hamas’s attacks and encouraging terror through incitement in education and the payment of stipends to tossed in the slammer
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
and slain Lions of Islam and their families. It says it will maintain open-ended security control over Gaza and partner with Paleostinians who are not affiliated with the PA or Hamas. It’s unclear who in Gaza would be willing to take on such a role.

Hamas has rejected the formation of the new government as illegitimate, calling instead for all Paleostinian factions, including Fatah, to form a power-sharing government ahead of national elections.

It has warned Paleostinians in Gaza against cooperating with Israel to administer the territory, saying anyone who does so will be treated as a collaborator, which is understood as a death threat.

Biden and the two former commanders in chief will take part in a discussion moderated by "The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert on Thursday night at Radio City Music Hall in front of thousands of guests.

Musicians Queen Latifah, Lizzo, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo and Lea Michele are slated to perform. Some high-paying attendees will get their pictures with the three presidents taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

In interrogation clip, captured PIJ terrorist confesses to raping Israeli woman on Oct. 7
[IsraelTimes] ’The devil took over me, I raped her,’ he admits; IDF says footage is ’further proof of the onslaught of murder and sexual violence by terrorist organizations’

The Israel Defense Forces on Thursday released new interrogation footage of a Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terrorist who was seen confessing to raping an Israeli woman in a kibbutz in southern Israel during the Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-led October 7 onslaught on Israeli communities.

The terrorist, Manar Qassem, who was captured by the IDF earlier this month in Khan Younis, said he was a member of Islamic Jihad’s naval forces.

In the interrogation carried out by the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 — which specializes in HUMINT, or human intelligence — Qassem is asked what he did on October 7, to which he provided a detailed response.

Qassem said he entered Israel through a breach in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
border fence between the Khan Younis area towns of al-Fukhkhari and Khuza’a, armed with a handgun and two grenades.

He said that as he reached the unnamed kibbutz, he entered the closest home, where he encountered a woman who was startled.

"I took her and threw her on the couch," Qassem told the interrogators, recalling in detail what she looked like and what she was wearing.

"The devil took over me, I laid her down, started undressing her, and did what I did," he said.

Pressed by the interrogator as to what he had done, Qassem responded by saying: "I slept with her."

Asked again, Qassem said, "I raped her."
Whoopi: "But it wasn't Rape-Rape"
"She pushed me, it didn’t last long... Two minutes. Maybe a minute and a half," he was heard saying.

At that point, according to Qassem, two members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades terror group entered the home and put the woman together with her mother for a short while, before taking both out of the house.

Qassem said he was left alone and decided to head back to the Gaza Strip. He said he heard gunshots and then shot one Israeli man near him before throwing one of his grenades and fleeing the kibbutz.

The IDF said the footage is "further proof of the onslaught of murder and sexual violence by terrorist organizations on October 7th," adding that it released the clip "in an effort to give voice to those who can no longer be heard."

Officials did not say whether they knew the fate of the woman, though the latter comment suggested she did not survive.

The release of the video came three weeks after the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
envoy on sex crimes during conflict presented a report at the UN indicating that rape and gang rape likely occurred during the October 7 Hamas invasion.

The 24-page report, based on more than two weeks of meetings on the ground, states that there are "reasonable grounds" to believe that Hamas committed rape and sexual abuse during its murderous rampage on October 7, and that there is an even higher standard of evidence to indicate that hostages kidnapped by Hamas that day were subject to rape in captivity.

Freed hostage Amit Soussana told The New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

in an interview published Tuesday that she was sexually assaulted by her Hamas guard during her captivity in Gaza.

The war in Gaza started on October 7 with Hamas’s unprecedented attack on Israel, in which turbans murdered some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 253.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza claims that more than 32,000 Paleostinians have been killed by Israel in the war. The number cannot be independently verified, and is believed to include both Hamas turbans and civilians, some of whom were killed as a consequence of the terror group’s own rocket misfires. The IDF says it has killed over 13,000 turbans in Gaza, in addition to some 1,000 who were killed inside Israel on and immediately following October 7.

German Soccer Player Ruediger Breaks Silence After Gesture Linking Him To ISIS
[MARCA] Germany's Real Madrid player gives details about the allegation he made against a journalist after accusing him of being in ISIS.

Antonio Rüdiger,Real Madrid's Germany international centre-back, has filed a complaint with the Berlin public prosecutor's office against journalist Julian Reichelt for linking a gesture in a photo of him to the terrorist group ISIS.

"For all those who do not want to recognise Antonio Rüdiger's Islamist salute as an Islamist salute: the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution calls this gesture "the ISIS finger" and sees the index finger as a clear sign of Islamism," Reichelt posted on his social media.
To be fair, it need not be ISIS. Any other Moslem supremacist version of the faith uses it as well, and even former President Obama, when speaking on the subject, as a private signal to his Moslem viewers that Islam will reign supreme, inshallah.
The image Reichelt complains about is an innocent post by Rüdiger as a greeting to Ramadan.

"May the Almighty accept our fasting and prayers". Now, the defender has given a word in 'Bild' where he explains what happened.

"The gesture I used is called a tawhid finger. In Islam, this is considered a symbol of the unity and oneness of God. The gesture is widespread among Muslims all over the world and only in the last few days has the Federal Ministry of the Interior classified it as non-problematic," he says.

RUDIGER ACKNOWLEDGES HIS RELIGION, BUT GIVES SOME NUANCES
"As a devout Muslim, I practise my faith, but I firmly distance myself from any kind of extremism and accusations of Islamism. Violence and terrorism are absolutely unacceptable. I stand for peace and tolerance.
Peace or submission? And does his tolerance run in both directions? The translation has him describing himself as an Islamist, not a simple Moslem.
Different faiths live together in his family. "Many of my family members belong to different religions. However, we respect each other and celebrate religious holidays together. Respect and tolerance are fundamental principles that we all stand for in our family," he added.

"However, I also recognise that due to insufficient attention, I have given third parties the opportunity to deliberately misinterpret my publication in order to divide and polarise. But I will not provide a platform for division and radicalisation, which is why I have decided to make a clear statement after our two successful international matches.

"At the same time, I will not allow myself to be insulted and denigrated as an Islamist. That's why I decided to file a report," adds the German national team player.

Rüdiger breaks his silence in 'Bild' after gesture linking him to ISIS: "I have given third parties the opportunity to misinterpret".

"It's all about propaganda and division; I will always resolutely defend myself against this. I hope this clarification will help to clear up misunderstandings and bring the truth to light. I would also like to thank the DFB, who supported me all the way in this matter," he concluded.

Troops raiding Gaza’s Shifa hospital kill senior Hamas commander, says IDF
[IsraelTimes] Death of soldier in southern Gazoo fighting brings army’s toll during ground operation to 253; large section of tunnel linking north and south Gaza blown up

Israeli commandos raiding Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
City’s Shifa Hospital killed one of the Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, terror group’s top commanders, the army said Thursday, as fighting raged in several areas of the Strip and the number of troops killed in combat reached the symbolically significant toll of 253.

The Israel Defense Forces said Hamas commander Raad Thabet was killed by soldiers from the Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit as he attempted to flee with two other operatives into the hospital compound.

Thabet was the top official in charge of recruitment and supply acquisition for the terror group’s armed wing, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said Thursday evening, announcing the killing.

He described Thabet as among the 10 most senior Hamas military commanders, and said he had been in close contact with leaders of the terror group, including its Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar and shadowy military wing head Mohammed Deif.

Israeli troops have been operating in the hospital since March 18, with the IDF saying that Hamas had re-established a command center there.

Hagari said troops also engaged in a firefight in the hospital’s maternity ward, killing three button men. Fighters also shot up troops after emerging from an emergency room, where they had been holed up, the army said earlier, noting that similar incidents had occurred several times over the past few days.

Troops have detained more than 900 terror suspects at Shifa Hospital during the raid, according to the IDF, and have killed more than 200 button men.

Hagari said Thursday that 513 of those captured had been confirmed to be members of terror groups, while 350 people were identified as patients and medical staff.

Shifa, the Gaza Strip’s biggest hospital before the war, had been one of the few healthcare facilities even partially operational in north Gaza before the latest fighting. It had also been housing displaced civilians.

Unverified footage on social media showed its surgery unit blackened by flames and nearby apartments on fire or destroyed.

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. terror group said in a statement they "bombed, with a barrage of mortar shells, gatherings of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the al-Shifa Complex" in a joint operation.

The IDF says it has evacuated civilians, patients, and medical staff to another part of the hospital "prepared and established to allow proper medical treatment to continue."

SOLDIER KILLED IN KHAN YOUNIS
In southern Gaza, the army announced the death of Staff Sgt. Nisim Kachlon, 21, of the Givati Brigade’s Rotem Battalion.

According to the IDF, the Hadera native was killed Thursday amid fighting in the Khan Younis area.

His death brought the number of troops killed since Israel’s ground offensive began to 253, matching the number of people kidnapped on October 7 as Hamas-led snuffies carried out a brutal assault on southern Israel. Some 1,200 people were massacred during the onslaught; most of those killed and kidnapped were civilians.

Israel has vowed to both wipe out Hamas and secure the hostages’ release. The army says there are 130 people kidnapped from Israel in Hamas captivity, including nearly three dozen people who were killed on October 7 or while held hostage whose remains Gazook snuffies continue to hold.

Talks for a temporary truce and the release of hostages appeared to advance earlier in the week, but fell apart after Hamas rejected a compromise, saying it is will only agree to a permanent end to the war and complete withdrawal of troops from Gaza.

Earlier, the IDF said commando and other forces had seized hundreds of weapons during an ongoing offensive in the al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Numerous button men have also been killed by troops in al-Amal, including with sniper fire, in close-quarters combat, and by calling in Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s, according to the IDF.

In a video published by the IDF, a cache of firearms, bombs, and other military equipment was seen being found by the Paratroopers Brigade’s reconnaissance unit in a building adjacent to al-Amal Hospital.

The World Health Organization says the al-Amal hospital has ceased to function due to fighting, leaving just 10 of 36 hospitals in the Gaza Strip partially operational. Another Khan Younis hospital, Nasser, was also surrounded by troops, Gazooks said.

International law stipulates that while a medical facility is a protected site in conflict, it loses that status if it is used for military activity. Israel has offered evidence Hamas uses such facilities as cover for terror purposes and says the group plunders humanitarian aid to take supplies for its fighters, depriving the civilian population.

In central Gaza, Hagari said troops destroyed a 2.5-kilometer (1.5-mile) section of a Hamas tunnel that was part of an underground network that connected between northern and southern Gaza.

He said more than 30 tons of explosives were used in the overnight demolition. The military released footage of it blowing up the tunnel.

In the southern Gaza city of Rafah an airstrike killed several people, according to Hamas health officials.

Israel has promised to launch a ground invasion of Rafah, saying the city on the border with Egypt is the last remaining Hamas stronghold in the Gaza Strip.

Over half of Gaza’s population has sought refuge in Rafah, many in makeshift tent camps, United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
shelters and crowded apartments. The US says it shares Israel’s goal of defeating Hamas but a major assault on the city would be a mistake.

According to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, at least 32,552 Paleostinians have been killed in Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip since October 7.

The figures cannot be independently verified, and are believed to include both civilians and Hamas members killed in Gaza, including as a consequence of the terror groups’ own rocket misfires. The IDF says it has killed over 13,000 combatants in Gaza since the war started, in addition to some 1,000 snuffies inside Israel on October 7.

On 3rd Friday of Ramadan, prayers again pass without incident at Jerusalem's Temple Mount
[IsraelTimes] Afternoon prayers for the third Friday of Ramadan have ended at the Al-Aqsa Mosque atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City, with the Israel Police reporting they passed without incident.

The Islamic Waqf says 125,000 people took part in the prayers, slightly up from last week, while police put turnout in the tens of thousands and the Foreign Ministry "over 50,000."

Along with the Ramadan prayers, hundreds of Christians participated in a customary Good Friday procession through the limestone walls of the Old City, commemorating one of the faith’s most sacred days with noticeably thinner crowds amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Police say they arrested 11 people in the Old City throughout the day, including several suspects for chanting "incitement and support for terrorism" following morning prayers at the Temple Mount.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Did The US First Catch Wind Of The Crocus Terrorist Attack By Spying On Kiev?
Russia really, really wants it to be seen as Ukraine…
[TheAltWorld] This accounts for why the US only passed along vague information to Russia since it assumed that the GUR wouldn’t go through with the Crocus plot after ordering them to call it off, but Washington still wanted to discredit its rival’s government and security services, ergo its embassy’s provocative warning at the time.

The New York Times (NYT) cited unnamed sources on Thursday to report that "The adversarial relationship between Washington and Moscow prevented U.S. officials from sharing any information about the (Crocus terrorist attack) plot beyond what was necessary, out of fear Russian authorities might learn their intelligence sources or methods." This vindicates President Putin, who the West hitherto claimed had downplayed terrorist threats in the run-up to one of the worst attacks in Russian history.

Without actionable intelligence and informed only of the US’ vague warning that large gatherings like concerts could soon be targeted, his security services were unable to stop the plotters, thus meaning that Washington is partially responsible for what happened by withholding specific information about it. Just as scandalously, this bombshell also prompted speculation about the exact sources and methods that America employed to first catch wind of this attack.

While it’s possible that the US learned about this from spying on the radical Telegram channel whose curators reportedly recruited the culprits, such as if the CIA had a mole inside that preacher’s team, the case can compellingly be made that this might have actually been brought to its attention by spying on Kiev. Last spring’s Pentagon leaks confirmed that the US has been spying on Zelensky, which Ukrainian officials told CNN was "unsurprising" but still left them "deeply frustrated".

Those documents also confirmed that the US was spying on Ukraine’s military-intelligence service GUR as well, from whom they learned about a plot to attack the Russian port of Novorossiysk on the first anniversary of the special operation and then ordered them to stand down to avoid provoking Moscow. Seeing as how the Washington Post (WaPo) reported half a year later that the CIA rebuilt the GUR from the ground-up after 2014, it’s obvious that they embedded moles within that institution from the get-go....

In ‘historic' step, High Court orders halt to yeshiva funds for students eligible for draft
[IsraelTimes] In a step that could have deep political and societal ramifications, the High Court of Justice issued an interim order Thursday evening barring the government from providing funds to ultra-Orthodox yeshivas for students eligible for IDF enlistment — as the legal framework for deferring their military service will no longer exist.

A government resolution from June 2023 instructing the IDF to temporarily not draft Haredi students despite the expiration of a law governing the matter will itself expire at midnight on March 31.

The court decision, which goes into effect April 1, comes after the government delayed for days the submission of a proposal to the court for plans to increase ultra-Orthodox military enlistment, and constitutes a sharp indication from the judges that their patience with repeated attempts to put off decisions on the matter is finally running out.

[American Thinker] Within the classic Taoist book of wisdom is found the parable of the empty boat. Fishermen, casting their lines from the banks of a stream, get all entangled when an empty boat drifts past them. They all laugh, knowing that it was just an accident. But when someone is sitting in the boat, they all throw rocks at him — because the problem was caused by preventable negligence.

Yes, there was a crew aboard the Dali, but was the engine failure a true accident or was it easily preventable? If a fluke mishap killed the engine, then, in a Taoist sense, the boat was empty. But if reasonable maintenance might well have prevented this catastrophe, then the boat was occupied, and stones should be thrown. Various "experts" on maritime affairs have just now said container shipping is a particularly cut-throat and thus price-competitive business.

Our esteemed chief executive has pledged the overly generous American taxpayers’ money to fix the damage. However, Lloyds of London comes to mind as being on the hook for this mess.

Such events are actually not all that unusual. It’s just the immensity of the disaster that causes one to shudder.

Years ago, I was visiting friends in Bremerton, Wash. Ferry service across the Puget Sound was seriously compromised when the Bremerton Ferry’s engine died just as it was docking at Seattle. Typically, ferries back their engines to slow down when docking. But without that reversal of thrust, the ferry slammed into the dock and took it out of operation for several months. Momentum on the water, especially of a seriously massive vessel, takes a lot of effort to control. Baltimore Harbor will be impacted as well, for quite a while.

Some mild speculation is suggesting the possibility of an intentional terrorist cause behind this disaster. Skeptics point out that much greater human harm would’ve occurred should this have happened during rush hour rather than the dead of night. But precise timing may not have been possible, considering tides and other traffic. Methodical forensic analysis of the engine failure has yet to provide an answer.

#2  An early report I read spoke of the repeated power outages aboard the Dale while at dockside, with the cause attributed to the immense power load and wiring needed to service the excessive number of on-board containers with air-conditioning/temperature control settings for perishable cargo. The inference was a mix of overloaded electrical demand linked to spotty maintenance, and human error and violation of capacity for profit?

war as protesters interrupted the event.

Biden, who traveled with Obama on Air Force One to New York, took part in a discussion with Clinton moderated by "The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in front of thousands of guests. Organizers say the event raised more than $25 million for Biden’s US reelection campaign.

But the fundraiser was punctuated by several protests inside the massive auditorium, with attendees rising at several different moments to shout over the discussion, referencing Biden’s backing of Israel in its war with Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
.

"Shame on you, Joe Biden!" one yelled.

Obama and Clinton offered a presidential perspective of the Gaza crisis that stressed the political realities of being in the White House.

A president needs to be able to support Israel at the same time as fighting for Paleostinians to have more access to food, medical supplies and a future state, they said.

"It’s a lonely seat," Obama said. "One of the realities of the presidency is that the world has a lot of joy and beauty, but it also has a lot of tragedy and cruelty."

People "understandably, oftentimes, want to feel a certain purity in terms of how those decisions are made," he said. "But a president doesn’t have that luxury."

When a protester inside the theater interrupted Obama, the former president snapped back: "You can’t just talk and not listen... that’s what the other side does."

The pair of former presidents also defended Biden’s handling of the economy, which has been getting low ratings in national polls.

Clinton said Biden’s economic numbers have significantly outpaced Trump’s administration.

"I believe in keeping score," Clinton said. "He’s been good for America" and deserves another term.

Before the event, the three leaders’ motorcade passed hundreds of protesters demonstrating against Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza, another sign that some young voters and other progressives who voted for Biden in 2020 are furious about his staunch backing of Israel in its response to the October 7 Hamas attacks, in which members of the terror group launched a massive cross-border assault, killing close to 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 253, more than half of whom remain in Gaza.

LIZZO, $500,000 TICKETS
The event included musicians Queen Latifah, Lizzo, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo and Lea Michele performing. Some high-paying attendees had their pictures taken with the three presidents by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Former president Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
, Biden’s Republican challenger in November’s election, was in the New York area on Thursday as well, attending a wake for a slain New York City policeman.

Biden, 81, has faced concerns about his age and fitness for a second four-year term. Recent Rooters/Ipsos polls show his approval rating at 40 percent and in a tight race with Trump, 77, ahead of the November 5 election.

The support shown by Biden’s predecessors was meant to demonstrate party unity and project fundraising strength.

Tickets for Thursday’s Biden event cost between $250 and $500,000, according to a Democrat familiar with the planning. More than 5,000 people were expected to attend.

Biden’s high-profile allies are seeking to shore up his support despite opinion polls showing tepid enthusiasm for the president and in contrast to a Republican Party where many major figures oppose Trump.

Biden showed flashes of humor at the event. He referenced former president Harry Truman’s advice that if you wanted a friend in Washington, get a dog. Biden quipped that he got one and it bit a Secret Service agent. The president’s dog, Commander, left the White House last year after a series of biting incidents.

The event closed with each of the men donning aviator sunglasses, Biden’s trademark.

"Dark Brandon is real," Biden bellowed, referencing a meme about himself.

TRUMP IN LONG ISLAND
Earlier on Long Island, east of New York, Trump attended a wake for Jonathan Diller, the policeman who was bumped off during a routine traffic stop earlier this week in the city.

"These things can’t happen. We need law and order," Trump, surrounded by mourning uniformed officers, told news hounds gathered outside a funeral home in Massapequa.

Trump has sought to make supporting police a focal point of his campaign while criticizing law enforcement that targets him.

He faces four criminal trials for his efforts to undermine the 2020 election, his mishandling of classified documents, and his involvement in a "hush money" scheme involving a porn star. He was fined hundreds of millions of dollars for overstating his net worth to lenders. He says he is innocent.

Biden has been routinely outraising Trump and taking in more money than his rival in big donations as well as in small donations under $200. Biden’s reelection effort raised over $53 million in February and $10 million in the 24 hours following his March 7 address to Congress.

Trump aims to raise $33 million in an April 6 fundraiser, a source familiar with the Republican’s plans told Rooters.

A Trump campaign adviser said on Thursday the candidate won’t be able to match Biden’s totals, blaming the disparity on the Democrat’s "billionaire" supporters and painting a picture of a Trump campaign fueled by grassroots, working-class supporters.

After the polls, the two parties were reportedly mulling to unite with PTI's successful independent candidates looking to join other parties in the parliament, so that they could jointly form a government in the provinces and Centre where they could have possessed a majority number of parliamentarians.

Gohar, however, claimed that the JI was "under pressure" not to talk to PTI on the said matter and the party's leadership was avoiding meetings with him.

The PTI politician's comment came during his appearance in Geo News programme 'Capital Talk' in which he said that the JI leaders did not attend a meeting that was decided to take place between him, Liaquat Baloch and other leaders of both parties.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Strikes in Syria near Aleppo kill 38, injure dozens, say security sources
[IsraelTrimes] UK-based Syrian Observatory says Israel attacked missile depots for Hezbollah near Aleppo airport, while state media says drone strikes by insurgent groups occurred simultaneously

The Syrian army claimed that Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s early Friday near the northern city of Aleppo killed and maimed several people and caused material damage, while security sources cited by Rooters said that at least 38 people had been killed.

Syrian state media quoted an unnamed military official as saying that the Israeli strikes coincided with drone attacks by Syrian holy warrior groups on civilian targets in Aleppo and its suburbs. It did not give an exact number of casualties.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor with questionable funding and sourcing, said Israeli strikes hit missile depots for Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? ’s terrorist Hezbollah group in Aleppo’s southern suburb of Jibreen near the Aleppo International Airport. It added that 36 soldiers were killed and dozens were maimed in the strikes. The Observatory said explosions were still heard two hours after the strikes.

Two security sources cited by Rooters said that the strikes killed 38 people, including five members of Hezbollah.

Syrian state news agency SANA said the pre-dawn strike killed and maimed civilians, as well as military personnel, without providing a corpse count.

There was no immediate statement from Israeli officials on the strikes. Israel frequently launches strikes on Iran-linked targets in Syria but rarely acknowledges them.

On Thursday, Syrian state media reported airstrikes near the capital Damascus, saying it maimed two civilians.

Aleppo, Syria’s largest city and once its commercial center, has come under such attacks in the past that led to the closure of its international airport. Friday’s strike did not affect the airport.

The strikes have escalated over the past five months against the backdrop of the war in Gazoo

’s unprecedented attack on Israel in which holy warriors murdered some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 253. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza claims that more than 32,000 Paleostinians have been killed by Israel in the war, an unverified figure which includes more than 13,000 Hamas operatives killed by Israel.

Israel has exchanged near-daily, cross-border fire with Hamas ally Hezbollah since the Gaza war began, sparking fears of a major regional conflagration.

At least 346 people have been killed in Lebanon — mostly Hezbollah terrorists, but also including at least 68 civilians — in festivities with Israel over the last six months, according to an AFP tally.

The fighting has also displaced tens of thousands of people in southern Lebanon and in northern Israel, where the IDF says 10 soldiers and eight civilians have been killed.

Update from the Times of Israel at 12:40 p.m. ET
The Hezbollah terror group announces the deaths of six members killed “on the road to Jerusalem,” its term for operatives slain in Israeli strikes.

They are named as Ahmed Shehimi from Markaba; Mustafa Makki from Tebnine; Ibrahim al-Zein from Chehour; Ali al-Haf from Halloussiyeh; Mustafa Nassif from Haffir; and Ali Naim from Selaa.

Naim was reported to have been killed in an Israeli strike on a car in the Lebanese town of Bazouriye, close to Tyre this morning, while the other five are believed to have been killed in an alleged IDF strike in Syria’s Aleppo overnight.

Their deaths bring the terror group’s toll since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip to 263.

Jewish Democratic group endorses primary challenger to NY Rep. Jamaal Bowman
[IsraelTimes] Jewish Democratic Council of America and AIPAC have both endorsed bid by George Latimer, as incumbent walks back remarks that claims of Hamas sex abuse were ‘propaganda’

On September 30, 2023, while House Dems were desperately attempting to delay a vote that avoided shutting the government down so they could blame it on the Pubs, Bowman pulled a fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building, causing the building to be evacuated. Bowman told reporters he thought it was a doorknob or something. Capitol Police released a statement saying they were investigating the fire alarm incident, and maybe a few rubes somewhere expected something to come of it. Republicans introduced a motion to expel Bowman from the House but that evaporated too. Bowman issued a statement saying they were Nazis. in Missouri, marking the first time that the Jewish Democrats have endorsed primary challengers to Democratic incumbents.

war has become a focal point of the closely watched campaign.

Latimer, a centrist who serves as Westchester County executive, has been firmly supportive of Israel since Hamas’s October 7 attack, when faceless myrmidons murdered close to 1,200 people, mostly civilians, across southern Israel, and kidnapped 253. Bowman, who is a member of the Squad, the group of progressive Democratic members of Congress, has been harshly critical of the Israeli military campaign in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. , accusing Israel of "genocide."

The Jewish Democratic Council of America announced its endorsement of Latimer on Thursday alongside 21 other candidates, including New Yorkers Mondaire Jones in the 17th district and Josh Riley in the 19th district.

In a statement, the council’s chair-elect, Susie Stern, called Latimer an ally to Jewish New Yorkers who "resolutely stands behind our community when challenging moments arise, including the current one."

Latimer hailed the council’s endorsement as well as the group’s support for causes including supporting Israel, fighting antisemitism, combating gun violence and protecting child sacrifice abortion rights.

"As we continue to build our grassroots campaign, their support will be vital for making sure every voice is heard in this critical election," Latimer said in a statement.

Latimer entered the race in December after months of speculation that he would mount a challenge to Bowman, who was first elected in 2020 and after receiving encouragement from Jewish supporters. He has also nabbed an endorsement from the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC. The Democratic Majority for Israel, an advocacy group, applauded his entry into the race.

Latimer has taken a more pro-Israel stance in line with more centrist Democrats. He visited Israel in November on a trip organized by the Westchester Jewish Council. He said earlier this month that he supports a temporary ceasefire that would lead to the release of the hostages, in line with the Democratic party leadership.

Both candidates raised around $1.4 million in the last quarter of 2023.

In February, Latimer accused Bowman of taking money from Hamas while speaking at a campaign event. Bowman threatened a defamation lawsuit in response.

Bowman, a former middle school principal, unseated longtime incumbent Eliot Engel, who is Jewish, in 2020. His ties with many Jewish constituents had frayed before October 7 due to his criticism of Israel. He angered Jewish voters early in the war by urging a ceasefire on October 16 in a statement that did not mention Hamas, terrorism or Israeli hostages.

The liberal Israel lobby J Street rescinded its endorsement of Bowman in January over his rhetoric on the war. Bowman has aimed his fire at AIPAC and publicly feuded with it online.

Bowman’s remarks on Israel have continued to dog him. This week, footage surfaced by Politico showed Bowman at a November rally expressing doubt that Israeli women had been raped on October 7, calling the allegations "propaganda." In a statement to Politico this week, Bowman walked back those comments.

"The UN confirmed that Hamas committed rape and sexual violence, a reprehensible fact that I condemn entirely," the statement said, noting that Bowman voted for a resolution condemning rape and sexual violence by Hamas. "So let me be clear, and ensure my words are not twisted: I always stand against sexual violence in all forms and stand for peace for all."

In November, Bowman held a meeting with Jewish constituents focused on antisemitism. There was a small protest ahead of the event, though two participants told the New York Jewish Week at the time that the meeting was productive and Bowman appeared attentive to their concerns. Ahead of the meeting, two prominent rabbis in the area said most of the community would decline to attend the event.

Separate from the war in Gaza, the congressman has faced other controversies in recent months. In January, the Daily Beast reported that Bowman had promoted 9/11 conspiracy theories on his personal blog in 2011. The House formally censured Bowman in December for pulling a fire alarm at the US Capitol, which he said was an accident.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hezbollah's rocket architect killed in IDF drone strike in Lebanon
[JPost] Israeli media reported that a senior Hezbollah official responsible for the terror group's rocket production was killed in the targeted strike.

An Israeli drone strike on a vehicle on the outskirts of Tyre in southern Lebanon on Friday killed a senior Hezbollah official, according to Israeli and Arab media.

The IDF later confirmed the death of Ali Naeem in the strike.

The IDF said Naeem, a senior Hezbollah official, served as the deputy commander of the terror group's rockets and missiles unit.

"Ali was considered to be a significant source of knowledge in the terrorist organization, and leader in the field of rockets. He was also one of the leaders for heavy-warhead rocket fire and responsible for conducting and planning attacks against Israeli civilians," the IDF added.

#10  Sometimes I worry about spending too much time in front of a screen. I think too many people these days spend too much time on their phones, on their computers or in front of the TV. And, believe it or not, I have other things to do.

But I look forward every morning to Rantburg and the civil, well reasoned discourse. Can't find it anywhere else. I miss it when it's down.

Great White North
Canada Now Euthanizing Autistic People
[HotAir]
Imagine one day you discover that your adult daughter, who still lives with you, wants to be euthanised. As far as you are aware, she is healthy. She suffers from autism and ADHD, but no physical illnesses or disabilities that you know of. You know that she has faced many difficulties in her life, but you love her and desperately want to prevent her death. You are left fighting against her doctors, who encourage her decision and are perfectly happy to help her go through with this. To make this nightmare even worse, no one will even tell you why your daughter has been approved to die.

This is the awful reality facing one father in Alberta, Canada. A judge issued a ruling this week that clears the way for a 27-year-old woman, known to the court only as MV, to be accepted into Canada’s medical assistance in dying (MAID) programme. Despite the attempts by her father – known as WV – to prevent this, there was really very little that could have been done. Under Canadian law, the court had no choice but to allow his daughter to be killed. According to the twisted logic of assisted-dying campaigners, this is the ‘compassionate’ option.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
VDH: Occupied Gaza
[Townhall] Prior to October 7, there were roughly two million Arab citizens of Israel but no Jewish citizens in Gaza. Gazans in 2006 voted in Hamas to rule them. It summarily executed its Palestinian Authority rivals. Hamas canceled all future scheduled elections. It established a dictatorship and diverted hundreds of billions of dollars in international aid to build a vast underground labyrinth of military installations.

"COLLATERAL DAMAGE"
Hamas began the war by deliberately targeting civilians. It massacred them on October 7 when it invaded Israel during a time of peace and holidays. It sent more than 7,000 rockets into Israeli cities for the sole purpose of killing noncombatants. It has no vocabulary for the collateral damage of Israeli civilians, since it believes any Jewish death under any circumstances is cause for celebration.

Hamas places its terrorist centers beneath and inside hospitals, schools, and mosques. Why? Israel is assumed to have more reservations about collaterally hitting Gaza civilians than Hamas does exposing them as human shields.

"DISPROPORTIONATE"
We are told Israel wrongly uses disproportionate force to retaliate in Gaza. But it does so because no nation can win a war without disproportionate violence that hurts the enemy more than it is hurt by the enemy.

The U.S. incinerated German and Japanese cities with disproportionate force to end a war both Axis powers started. The American military in Iraq nearly leveled Fallujah and Mosul by disproportional force to root out Islamic gunmen hiding among innocents. Hamas has objections to disproportionate violence -- but only when it is achieved by Israel and not Hamas.

"TWO-STATE SOLUTION"
Prior to October 7, there was a de facto three-state solution, given that Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza were all separate states ruled by their own governments, two of which were illegitimate without scheduled elections.

It was not Israel, but the people of Gaza and the West Bank who institutionalized the "from river to the sea" agenda of destroying its neighbor.

Israel would have been content to live next to an autonomous Arab Gaza and West Bank that did not seek to destroy Israel in their multigenerational efforts to form their own "one-state solution."

"CEASEFIRE"
The so-called international community is demanding Israel agree to a "ceasefire." But there was already a ceasefire prior to October 7. Hamas broke it by massacring 1,200 Jews and taking over 250 hostages.

Hamas violated that peace because it thought it could gain leverage over Israel by murdering Jews.

Hamas now demands another ceasefire because it thinks it is no longer able to murder more unarmed Jews. Instead, it now fears that Israel will destroy Hamas in the way Hamas sought but failed to destroy Israel.

Did Hamas call for a cease-fire after the first 500 Jews it massacred on October 7?

"RAMADAN"
President Joe Biden believes that the Muslim religious holiday of Ramadan requires Israel to agree to a ceasefire.

But did either Hamas or any other Arab military ever respect Jewish -- or even its own -- religious holidays?

The October 7 massacre was timed to catch Israelis unaware while celebrating the Jewish religious holidays of Simchat Torah, Shemini Torah, and Shemini Atzeret on Shabbat.

Moreover, Hamas's surprise attack was deliberately timed to commemorate the earlier sneak Arab attack on Israel some 50 years earlier.

On October 6, 1973, the Israelis were the target of a surprise attack when celebrating the religious holiday of Yom Kippur. Arab armies also assumed they would achieve greater surprise when attacking during their own religious holiday of Ramadan.

So, Arab militaries fight opportunistically both during Jewish and their own Islamic holidays. Egyptians and Syrians still boast of their 1973 surprise attack on Israel as the "Ramadan War."

Only Westerners, not Arabs, believe there should be no war during Ramadan.

"CIVILIAN CASUALTIES"
Israel risks the lives of its soldiers to prevent civilian deaths. Hamas risks the lives of its civilians to prevent terrorists' deaths. Israel considers it a failure, and Hamas considers it globally advantageous when more civilians die than its soldiers.

"FOREIGN AID"
The Biden administration threatens to cut off or slow-walk aid to Israel if it continues to retaliate against Hamas even though they started the war. So the administration promises to give more aid to Gaza after the October 7 Hamas massacres than it gave to Gaza before Hamas's attack.

"PRISONERS"
The international community that favors Hamas, nevertheless, knows it would be safer to be a prisoner of Israel than of Hamas. It knows women are not going to be raped in custody by Israelis but are by Hamas. And the unarmed are more likely to be mutilated and decapitated by Hamas than Israelis.

Is the international community more likely to charge Israel than Hamas for war crimes because the Jewish state seeks to avoid civilian deaths that Hamas finds useful?
The nice, liberal "people" simply can't sleep at night when they think of a Jewish state?
