ISIS Loses Ground in Puntland as Final Offensive Gains Momentum
[Garowe] The ISIS snuffies in the northeastern state of Somalia — Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
, are increasingly losing ground as the region pulls the final assault on the group, whose activities had raised concerns among stakeholders, including the US State Department of the US.

Last week, the Puntland security forces launched the third and final phase against ISIS bully boys, with local authorities exuding confidence in defeating the group, which is limited to the Bari region within the Cal-Miskaad mountains.

Just upon the launch of the third phase, the fighting in Miraale valley, one of three areas where the snuffies are hiding, was reportedly intense. The terrain appears to be challenging. In Curaar valley, the snuffies launched an attack on government forces four nights ago, losing 7 men.

No fighting has been reported in the vicinity of Karinka Qandala to the north of Tog Jaceel valley, where snuffies are still suspected to be holed up. But to a large extent, the snuffies have lost ground in all aspects, including some of the strategic forward operating bases.

Security analysts believe the snuffies have stocked food and weapons in multiple locations in an attempt to prolong the war. The motivation level of Puntland forces is reportedly still high and could prove decisive, though it’s difficult to say how long the operation will last, analysts say.

Further, it is now clear that the majority of ISIS fighters are from outside Somalia, including top wanted individuals. The fact majority of them are foreigners eventually could work against the snuffies as they will struggle to mix in with the locals.

Another advantage is that locals are now more confident to report ISIS activities to the security forces. It’s crucial that Puntland builds on that and not squanders public support. Members of the public work closely with security teams on the frontlines by providing intelligence reports.

However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
the whereabouts of ISIS leaders are not known. Emir Abdulkadir is unlikely to be on the frontlines, which requires him to move regularly, given his age, security sources believe. They assess that he is in a different zone where there is no fighting, or may have left Somalia well before the military operations started.

The speculation is that he is either in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
or Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
, where ISIS could exploit that country’s civil war. Last year, the US released a statement confirming his death, but the reports would later be reversed following intense scrutiny by the US Africa Command.

But the final assault against the group has significantly helped the group to control strategic bases, including an explosives factory where the group depends on for manufacturing and assembling weapons. The group controls sections of the Bari region, though.

At least two children killed in Somali special forces’ raid on Al-Shabaab leader’s house
[ShabelleMedia] At least two children were killed during a fierce overnight clash between U.S.-trained Somali special forces known as Danab and a senior al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
member in the Buladul-Amiin area of Somalia’s Lower Shabelle region, residents told Shabelle Radio.

The confrontation reportedly erupted when Danab commandos launched a raid targeting the residence of a man identified as Mohammed Abukar, alleged to be a member of the al-Qaeda-linked bully boy group al-Shabaab.

According to an eyewitness who spoke with Shabelle Radio, Abukar opened fire on the troops and managed to escape, though he was reportedly injured. A maiden of tender years, said to be his daughter, was maimed in the exchange, while two children, believed to be his grandchildren, were killed.

The Danab unit reportedly arrived in the area via helicopter from the Balidoogle airbase, a key U.S. and Somali military installation located roughly 90 kilometers northwest of Mogadishu.

The full extent of casualties on the side of the Danab forces remains unclear.

Danab forces, who receive specialized training and support from the United States, frequently carry out targeted raids against high-ranking al-Shabaab operatives, as part of ongoing efforts by the Somali federal government to dismantle the bully boy group’s leadership.

Police say armed terror operative apprehended in Qalqilya, in the West Bank, 4 more released in hostage trade rearrested
[IsraelTimes] The Israel Police says that an armed terror operative affiliated with Palestinian Islamic Jihad has been arrested in Qalqilya, in the West Bank, during a joint operation with the IDF, Shin Bet, and the police’s Lahav 433 major crimes unit.

In a statement, the police say that the detained terror suspect had been en route to carry out “operational activities” at the time of his arrest.

During the joint raid on the terror cell, police say that troops seized several M16 rifles.

In addition to his affiliation with the Islamic Jihad, police say that the detained terror operative has also cooperated with Hamas in the West Bank.

4 Palestinians released in recent hostage deal rearrested in Qalqilya overnight

[IsraelTimes] Palestinian media reports that Israeli troops arrested four Palestinians last night in the West Bank city of Qalqilya who were released as part of the recent ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas.

The detainees — three men and one woman — are identified as Abdallah Al-Walwil, Sameh Shubaki, Maysara Afaneh, and Margaret Al-Ra’i.

There has been no official response from Israel regarding the reports.

This is the first reported instance of Israel rearresting individuals released in the recent deal.

Israel released close to 2,000 Palestinian security prisoners during a ceasefire between January and March, in exchange for the release from Gaza of 30 hostages and the bodies of eight slain captives.

Israel using AI to help target Hamas leaders, locate hostages in tunnels — report
[IsraelTimes] Israel has used artificial intelligence tools to target Hamas leaders amid the war in Gaza, according to a report in the New York Times.

The report opens with a strike at the end of October 2023 that targeted Ibrahim Biari, the commander of Hamas’s Central Jabalia Battalion, who the newspaper says the Israeli military was able to locate by using an AI-infused audio tool to track where he was making phone calls from.

The Israel Defense Forces said the strike that killed Biari, in which dozens of civilians were said to have been killed, targeted a Hamas tunnel complex under the densely populated camp. The incident is being investigated by the military.

In addition to concerns over civilian casualties, Israeli and US officials quoted by the New York Times say there were also instances in which the AI technology resulted in mistaken identifications and arrested.

The report says that Israel employed AI to identify partly obscured or wounded faces using facial recognition, create lists of possible targets and make an Arabic chatbot to scan and analyze text messages and social media, with many of these technologies created in a partnership between Military Intelligence’s Unit 8200 and reservists employed at major leading tech firms known as “The Studio.”

Additionally, Israel reportedly also used the same audio tool that helped locate Biari as part of its efforts to find hostages held in tunnels beneath Gaza, with a pair of Israeli officers saying it has been sharpened over time to more accurately locate people.

There were no reports of injuries or damage in the attack.

The Houthis did not immediately claim responsibility for the overnight attack, which came a few days after a missile launched by the rebel group set off sirens in northern Israel for the first time.

’s funeral, Trump was asked whether concerns about humanitarian aid for Gaza came up in his phone call with Netanyahu earlier this week.

"Gaza came up and I said, ’We’ve got to be good to Gaza,’" Trump said.

"Those people are suffering. We’ve got to be good to Gaza. We’re going to take care of them," he added.

"There’s a very big need for... food and medicine. We’re taking care of it," Trump said.

Pressed on whether he’s pushing Israel to allow aid into Gaza, Trump responded. "We are," adding that he wants "to get food and medicine into Gaza."

Asked how Netanyahu responded to the request, Trump said, "Well. He felt well about it."

It was the first time Trump had publicly weighed in on the issue of humanitarian aid for Gaza, which was a repeated point of conflict between Netanyahu and the Biden administration.

The revelation of the discussion between Netanyahu and Trump came shortly after the World Food Programme said it had run out of food stocks in Gaza due to the sustained closure of crossings into the enclave.

"No humanitarian or commercial supplies have entered Gaza for more than seven weeks as all main border crossing points remain closed. This is the longest closure the Gaza Strip has ever faced, exacerbating already fragile markets and food systems," the WFP said in a statement to journalists.

WFP, one of the main providers of food assistance in the Paleostinian territory, said it had "delivered its last remaining food stocks to hot meals kitchens in the Gaza Strip" on Friday.

It said, "These kitchens are expected to fully run out of food in the coming days."

Trump demands US campuses report foreign funds amid concern over anti-Israel influence
[IsraelTimes] Executive order says funds can be revoked if schools fail to disclose sources, in latest salvo of White House’s crackdown on US colleges and universities

US President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
on Wednesday issued an executive order requiring American colleges and universities to report all foreign funding, apparently amid concern from Jewish and pro-Israel groups that countries such as Qatar

were promoting anti-Israel discourse on campus.

Echoing the activist group’s call for greater reporting standards, Trump’s order requires colleges and universities to report all gifts and funds from foreign countries and says funds could be revoked from schools that fail to comply with reporting standards.

It is the latest salvo in a broad set of White House efforts cracking down on campuses — including freezing billions of dollars of funding and arresting some student activists.

Last month, the US House of Representatives advanced a bill that sought to lower the threshold for reporting gifts from most foreign countries from $250,000 to $50,000.

The House bill received support from pro-Israel lobby AIPAC and the Republican Jewish Coalition. Opponents, including umbrella groups for colleges and universities, say the legislation will inappropriately expand government monitoring of higher education and could hinder international collaboration.

Trump’s executive order cited a US Senate committee investigation into foreign funding that described the flow of gifts to American schools as a "black hole."

"Undisclosed foreign funding raises serious concerns about potential foreign influence, national security risks and compromised academic integrity," the order read.

US universities and colleges have seen a massive uptick in anti-Israel protests following the Hamas

Pahalgam LeT massacre Day 4: LeT Top Commander Altaf Lalli Shot Dead By Indian Security Forces
The hunt proceeds, I suppose.
OneIndia liveblog
It is the first major success for the Indian security forces which has launched an operation to eliminate the terrorists behind the recent Pahalgam incident where 26 civilians were killed.

Altaf Lalli held a senior leadership position within the LeT, making him a high-value target for Indian security forces. As a top commander, he was reportedly involved in planning and executing various militant operations in the region.

TERRORISTS HOUSES DESTROYED
Meanwhile, the houses of two LeT terrorists allegedly involved in the Pahalgam attack were destroyed in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday night in a blast.

The blast occurred when the officials were conducting searches inside the houses of two LeT terrorists Adil Hussain Thokar and Asif Sheikh.

Thokar, a resident of south Kashmir's Anantnag district, is one of the key accused in Tuesday's Pahalgam massacre, while Sheikh, resident of Tral in Pulwama district, is suspected to be involved in the conspiracy of the attack.

The explosives resulted in the destruction of the houses.

On the other hand, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has landed in in Kashmir on Friday to review the situation. The officials said Army commander, Northern Command, Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, accompanied the Army Chief.

The Chief of Armed Staff (COAS) would carry out a comprehensive review of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, while top Army commanders will brief him about the security situation and steps taken in the aftermath of Tuesday's attack, PTI reported citing officials.

The tensions between India and Pakistan are high as both countries have announced the suspension of important treaties and agreements signed to resolve conflicts. While New Delhi has announced the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, Islamabad has announced the scrapping of trade activities and closed airspace for India.

Homes raided as part of Michigan crackdown on pro-Palestinian vandalism targeting Jews
[IsraelTimes] Unusually, US federal agents involved in investigation of series of incidents in which homes and Jewish institutions were targeted with messages such as ‘F*** Israel,’ ‘Intifada’

US federal and state agents in Michigan raided at least three different home addresses connected to pro-Paleostinian activists Wednesday, as part of what authorities said was an ongoing investigation into more than a year of the group targeting homes and businesses, including prominent Jewish locations.

The raids — at homes in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and Canton — were not tied to immigration issues or on-campus demonstrations against Israel that have taken place over the last year and a half, according to a front man for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

"These search warrants were not investigative of protest activity on the campus of the University of Michigan nor the Diag encampment," the front man, Danny Wimmer, said in a statement, referring to the location of Michigan’s anti-Israel student encampment last year. "Today’s search warrants are in furtherance of our investigation into multi-jurisdictional acts of vandalism."

The raids, during which some people were detained but not arrested, followed acts of vandalism at the homes of members of the University of Michigan’s Board of Regents, whom pro-Paleostinian activists want to cut university ties with Israel.

Late Thursday, Nessel’s office provided a list of the vandalism incidents the raids were investigating. The incidents included one in December, when a group of protesters threw rocks through the window of Jordan Acker, a Jewish regent, while he and his children were home in the heavily Jewish bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit
... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang...
suburb of Huntington Woods, and left pro-Paleostinian graffiti on his car. Another incident from June 2024 targeted Acker’s law office.

Another incident, on the first anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
onslaught, targeted the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit in Bloomfield Hills with graffiti reading "Intifada" and "Fuck Israel." Non-Jewish regents at the university and the university president have also been targeted by protesters in their own homes. Other graffiti, targeting a predominantly Jewish country club, made explicit references to Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, which had hosted an event at the space the day before. The oldest incidents dated back to February 2024; the most recent occurred in March of this year.

A viral video showed officers breaking down the door of a home. Nessel’s office said Thursday that officers broke down the door "following more than an hour of police efforts to negotiate entry to satisfy the court-authorized search warrant."

Pro-Paleostinian activists at the university have been engaged in extreme tactics to pressure its leadership to divest from Israel.

Acker declined to comment on the raids on Wednesday. He previously called the targeting of his own home "terrorism" and "Klan-like."

The involvement of federal agents in investigating local vandalism is unusual. An attorney representing several University of Michigan protesters told the Detroit Free Press that she believed the raids showed that Nessel’s office was collaborating with the Trump administration, which has cracked down on pro-Paleostinian protesters and schools where they have been active and dispatched federal immigration authorities to arrest non-citizen student activists.

"Everyone who was raided has taken part in protests and has some relationship to the University of Michigan," said the attorney, Liz Jacob of the Sugar Law Center in Detroit. "We are totally convinced that, but for their viewpoints, these students would not have been targeted."

On Instagram, a pro-Paleostinian collective at the university said they were being targeted by "zionist state AG Dana Nessel," who is Jewish, and who they accused of working with Trump to "repress pro-Paleostinian speech." Online, other pro-Paleostinian groups attempted to link the raids with the high-profile detentions of activists Mahmoud Khalil and Rumeysa Ozturk on other campuses.

The University of Michigan, which has large Jewish and Arab American student populations, has taken more aggressive action against protesters since US President Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
’s reelection. In February, it suspended a leading pro-Paleostinian student group for two years, in part over its demonstration at a regent’s home.

The school also announced last month, amid pressure from the Trump administration, that it would do away with its flagship Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program. The school had previously fired a senior DEI staffer who allegedly made antisemitic comments at a conference.

Pakistan’s Dirty Laundry On Display: Defence Minister Admits Terror Links, ‘Did US Dirty Work For Decades’
[Oneindia] Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has publicly admitted Pakistain's role in supporting terrorists, a startling statement that further damages the nation's already damaged reputation abroad. Asif freely acknowledged what India and the international world have long pointed out-Islamabad's close ties to terrorist organizations-in an interview with Sky News, confirming that Pakistain had been doing the "dirty work" for the US and Western nations for more than 30 years.

This statement couldn't have come at a more striking moment as India struggles with the terrible Pahalgam terror assault, which killed 26 innocent tourists. "We have been doing this dirty work for the United States and the West, including Britannia, for about three decades," Asif states in the now-viral video.

This is a unique and shocking affirmation from a current Pak official regarding the nation's deliberate support of turbans under the pretense of geopolitics.

Asif doubled down on the mistakes made by his nation, admitting, "That was a mistake, and we suffered for that... Pakistain's record would have been unquestionable if we had not entered the fight against the Soviet Union and then the war following 9/11. The chickens have obviously gone home to roost, and there is no one else to blame but Pakistain.

#2  Interesting that he would mention 9/11, which was an attack on the US National Command Authority (United 93's likely target was the White House) sponsored/facilitated/orchestrated by Pakistan, a declared nuclear power.

The West has put up with passive and not so passive aggressive "allies" for many decades.

The result has been more aggression, more hostility and and the West now being existentially threatened.

Pope Francis Stacked the Deck
[Chick.com] With Pope Francis’ death, everyone wants to know —what will the next pope be like? Francis may be gone, but he’s done everything he can to stack the deck and answer that question.

As Francis’ health declined, he ramped up his efforts to secure his legacy of liberal leadership. After appointing 88 cardinals during his 12-year tenure, he added another 20 as his health deteriorated toward the end of 2024. Many of those 20 are outspoken advocates for the LGBTQ+ movement, liberation theology, and dialogue that continues Francis’ push that "all roads lead to Rome."

Of the 135 men who will vote for the next pontiff, a whopping 80% were appointed by Francis. In keeping with Francis’s liberal leanings, the majority of his appointees are theologically progressive, socially liberal, and culturally in step with the godless 21st-century West. It’s safe to say that the next pope won’t just continue Francis’s agenda—he’ll probably push it even further.

WOKE LEADERSHIP FOR A WOKE WORLD
The Vatican has long had a pattern: it reflects the spirit of the age. As Europe abandoned their Christian heritage, the Catholic church liberalized. As Western culture adopted a more ungodly moral compass, so did Rome — especially under Francis. Francis’s cardinal picks prove the point.

Easter Attack: Islamist Migrants Assault German Mother and Kids, Hospitalize Newborn‐ Authorities Target Victimized Family (VIDEO)
[GatewayPundit] What began as a typical Easter Sunday at a local playground in Upper Franconia, Germany, quickly descended into chaos and violence, offering a grim illustration of the ever-increasing tensions in a country plagued by the failures of multiculturalism and mass immigration of people from alien, anti-Western cultures.

In a harrowing incident caught on video that has since gone viral on alternative media, a 41-year-old German mother and her newborn baby were brutally assaulted—first by a 12-year-old Syrian girl who attacked her six-year-old son, and later by the girl’s Islamist mother and older sister in a brutal escalation that left the infant hospitalized.

According to local reports and eyewitness accounts, the ordeal began when the German boy was viciously attacked by the Syrian girl, who reportedly choked, beat, and sat on him in an unprovoked act of aggression. When the boy’s mother tried to intervene—holding her 12-day-old baby in her arms—the confrontation initially de-escalated.

Unfortunately for the German family, peace was fleeting. Roughly twenty minutes later, the Syrian girl returned with her mother and an older sister. The three then launched a frenzied attack on the German woman, punches and kicks flying.

In the midst of this assault, the infant—barely two weeks old—was injured and had to be taken to a hospital under suspicion of a concussion.

A 20-second video recorded by the mother moments before the attack captures the Syrian woman approaching with unmistakable hostility. Though the actual violence occurs off-camera, the screams of terrified children and adults are chilling. The mother, trusting her instincts, began filming out of what she later described as a “bad gut feeling.”

This was no ordinary playground scuffle. This was a targeted, racially and culturally charged assault against a German family in their own homeland—by those who were welcomed in as so-called ‘asylum seekers.’

But perhaps most shocking of all is what followed: rather than a full-throated investigation into the violent migrant attackers, the German state turned its attention to the victims. The father of the injured children, who had posted the video to Facebook to shed light on the ordeal, is now under investigation for “suspected sedition.”

His mobile phone has been seized by authorities, and he is accused of violating data protection laws and potentially inciting hatred, merely for showing the truth of what happened to his family.

Welcome to modern Germany, where the truth is treated as more dangerous than the imported violence itself.

The press office of the Upper Franconia Police Headquarters confirmed the ongoing investigations, not against the assailants, but against the German father. “In addition, comments and contributions from the owner are also examined on suspicion of sedition,” a police spokesperson stated. This is the same state that systematically ignores the growing pattern of migrant criminality while punishing its own citizens for speaking out.

In the West they are the lowest ranking members of the highest ranking social group, so they can safely vent their frustration by meting out degrading violence on members of the majority population.

Pete Hegseth Fired Up After Learning Obesity Rate Among Reserve Troops: 'FIT, not FAT'
[HatewayPundit] President Donald Trump’s administration has declared war on those who declared war on American citizens.

After all, among other things, the Trump administration values freedom, security, merit, and health. And those who declared war on American citizens did so in part by attacking all of those things.

Friday morning on the social media platform X, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth responded to an alarming new report about the incidence of obesity among National Guard and Reserve troops by calling the situation “completely unacceptable” and pledging a new military made up of “FIT, not FAT” service members.

“This is what happens when standards are IGNORED — and this is what we are changing. REAL fitness & weight standards are here,” Hegseth wrote.
In the meantime, regular military enlistment rates remain very high.

Victoria, Australia culls hundreds of koalas after wildfire, activists denounce policy
[Jpost] Up to 750 koalas have been fatally shot by helicopter snipers in the Australian state of Victoria over the past month, Australia's Liberal Party, currently in opposition, announced last week.

"The Allan Labor Government," referring to Labor Party Premier of Victoria Jacinta Allan, "approved the use of helicopter-based snipers to shoot up to 750 koalas in Budj Bim National Park, in what is believed to be the first aerial shooting of koalas in Victoria," the Liberal Party added.

This came as part of a "planned culling following a wildfire there that wiped out about 2,000 hectares of bushland last month," Sky News Australia added.

While Sky News Australia cited environment officials stating that the cull is necessary as many koalas are "already severely injured, dehydrated, or on the brink of starvation," this decision was criticized by some wildlife advocates.

President of the Koala Alliance, Jess Robertson stated "there is no way they can tell if a koala is in poor condition from a helicopter."

A Koala Alliance spokesman added "If koalas were shot out of trees, this means many joeys (baby koalas) would be left to suffer and die. It’s despicable. It’s cruel."

“The use of aerial shooting should be treated as a last resort. This is the first time that koalas have been killed by shooting from a helicopter in Australia. Aerial culling of koalas is an Australian first and sets a nasty ethical precedent,” Friends of the Earth Melbourne stated.

No rescuers have bee allowed inside the national part to help orphaned koala babies because the area was blocked off by fires, the Friends of the Earth Melbourne added.

Koalas are listed as an endangered species in Queensland, New South Wales, and the Australian Capital Territory, but not in Victoria, according to the New York Post.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
WATCH: Explosion rocks Iran's Bandar Abbas port near IRGC base, 195 516 700+ injured, 5 dead — was it mis-stored missile fuel?
[Jpost] The explosion reportedly occurred near an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps naval base, Army Radio reported.

A large explosion rocked Shahid Rajaee port in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas, semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Saturday.

At least 516 people were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, and it is unclear whether there are fatalities, Reuters reported.

The explosion reportedly occurred near an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval base, Army Radio reported.

The IDF has denied any involvement in the explosion, Maariv reported, citing sources within the military.
“Wudn’t us. Musta been Allah. Again.”
Footage online shows large mushroom clouds emerging from the site of the explosion.

"The source of this incident was the explosion of several containers stored in the Shahid Rajaee Port wharf area. We are currently evacuating and transferring the injured to medical centers," a local crisis management official told state TV.

Reuters said that efforts were ongoing to extinguish a significant fire, with the port's customs saying that trucks were being evacuated from the area and that the container yard where the explosion occurred likely contained "dangerous goods and chemicals."

It is unclear why Iran would not have moved the [solid ballistic missile fuel] from the port, particularly after the Beirut port blast in 2020, in which more than 200 people were killed in a chemical explosion.
State TV said "negligence in handling flammable materials was a contributing factor" in the explosion.

Oil facilities were not affected by the blast as the National Iranian Petroleum Refining and Distribution Company issued a statement saying, "The explosion and fire in Shahid Rajaee Port have no connection to refineries, fuel tanks, distribution complexes, and oil pipelines related to this company."

The large blast shattered windows within a radius of several kilometers, Iranian media said, with footage shared online showing a mushroom cloud forming following the explosion.
Update at 1:10 p.m. ET:
At least five were killed and more than 700 people were wounded and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, and it is unclear whether there are fatalities, Reuters reported.
The Times of Israel adds something interesting — the same information as in Skidmark’s Daily Mail article in comments, below:
The blast was purportedly linked to a shipment of a chemical ingredient used to make missile propellant.

The customs office at the port said in a statement carried by state TV that the blast probably resulted from a fire that broke out at the hazmat and chemical materials storage depot.

“The cause of the explosion was the chemicals inside the containers,” Hossein Zafari, a spokesperson for Iran’s crisis management organization, told Iran’s ILNA news agency.

In March, the port took in a shipment of “sodium perchlorate rocket fuel,” the private security firm Ambrey said. The fuel is part of a shipment from China by two vessels to Iran, first reported in January by the Financial Times. The fuel was going to be used to replenish Iran’s missile stocks, which had been depleted by its direct attacks on Israel during the war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“The fire was reportedly the result of improper handling of a shipment of solid fuel intended for use in Iranian ballistic missiles,” Ambrey said.

Ship-tracking data analyzed by The Associated Press put one of the vessels believed to be carrying the chemical in the vicinity in March, as Ambrey said. Iran hasn’t acknowledged taking the shipment. The Iranian mission to the United Nations didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday.

It is unclear why Iran would not have moved the chemicals from the port, particularly after the Beirut port blast in 2020, in which more than 200 people were killed in a chemical explosion. However, Israel has targeted Iranian missile sites where Tehran uses industrial mixers to create solid fuel, including during its response to a massive Iranian missile barrage launched at Israel last October.

There were no immediate allegations of blame issued by Iran against external actors.

Illegal Migrants Cost Texas $121.8 Million in Unpaid Health Care in Just One Month
[Breitbart] Texas taxpayers paid nearly $122 million to provide Healthcare to illegal migrants in November alone, says the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

The Texas HSHC is reporting that the costs to the state for health care for illegal migrants has topped $121.8 million in unpaid care in just the month of November alone. And that estimate is probably low.

In its report, the HHSC reported that non-citizens utilized hospitals in the Lone Star State more than 31,000 time during November of last year.

The data was taken from the state’s new reporting requirements mandated by an executive order that went into effect last August.

“The executive order directs Texas hospitals to provide HHSC quarterly reports on patients who are not lawfully present in the U.S.,” the report noted, “including the number of inpatient discharges, emergency department visits, and the cost of care provided to these patients.”

However, the estimate of expenses is probably low because the data is predicated on the number of patients who answer questions about their immigration status on hospital intake forms and some migrants won’t answer the questions.

Still, this is the first report of its kind in Texas and if every month is similar going forward, the yearly total would approach $1.46 billion per year.

The reporting requirements are similar to a law in Florida mandating that hospitals report the number of uninsured migrants they see each month.

One recent report in Florida found that illegal migrants had cost the state $660 million in unpaid medical bills incurred by migrants.

When he signed his executive order last August, Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott said, “Texans should NOT have to foot the bill for illegal immigrants healthcare.”

Despite the reporting requirements in both Florida and Texas, no migrant is refused medical services.,

The judge handed down the maximum sentence of 87 months just before noon in Central Islip on Long Island.

Federal prosecutors say the former congressman exaggerated or fabricated large parts of his backstory to defraud voters and donors in New York's 3rd Congressional District. He faced nearly a dozen criminal charges before pleading guilty to two counts last August.

Judge Strikes Down Illinois Law Requiring Pro-Life Doctors To Promote Abortion
[Federalist] “I didn’t know, I didn’t know," sobbed a mother, crying in anguish as she rocked back and forth, as only one who has carried the burden of regret for 20 years can.

A nurse at a prolife pregnancy center was conducting an ultrasound for that mother’s 18-year-old daughter, who was pregnant. The mother and her pregnant daughter told the nurse that they had already decided on an abortion, but came in for an ultrasound, just to know how far along she was.

Seeing the flickering black-and-white image, the pregnant daughter’s mother broke down. The small figure on the screen was nine weeks old — the same age as the child she had aborted 20 years earlier. Back then, she had believed it was just a clump of tissue. Now, witnessing for the first time what an unborn child at that gestational age looked like, she saw on that ultrasound a baby — her grandchild — and the weight of that realization crashed down on her.

The nurse paused the scan to console the daughter’s mother and tell her about the resources that her center offers for post-abortive parents. "The mother, at the end of that visit, she went up to her daughter and told her that she would help her, that they were going to keep the baby," the nurse, Pasha Bohlen of Pregnancy Aid South Suburbs, testified during trial in Schroeder v. Treto, Jr.

That moment reaffirmed Bohlen’s belief, one that is shared by hundreds of pro-life doctors and pregnancy resource centers across Illinois, that abortion offers no medical benefits — only harm. Yet, for the better part of the last decade, the state of Illinois has battled in court to force pro-life doctors and pregnancy centers, like Bohlen’s, to share so-called "benefits of abortion" with the pregnant mothers in her care.

Radicalized son of a CIA director was killed fighting for Russia in Ukraine: report
[NYPost] The radicalized son of a CIA director was killed last year while allegedly fighting for Russia in Ukraine, according to a new investigation.

Michael Alexander Gloss, the 21-year-old son of the CIA’s Deputy Director for Digital Innovation Juliane Gallina Gloss and a Navy veteran father, was killed on the front lines after enlisting in the Russian army, according to a lengthy investigation by independent Russian outlet Important Stories.

His death was confirmed by The Post Friday by his father, Larry Gloss, who said his son suffered from mental illness and had a fixation on water purification.

"One of the manifestations of his mental illness was grandiosity," Larry Gloss explained. "He always cared about the environment. He always wanted to take care of those disadvantaged, less able.

Amid Main Stream Media Doom and Gloom on the Economy, One Economist Sees Growth
[RedState] I'm not going to pull any punches here, and I have to tell you I'm a bit of a worrywart about things that are related to the economy of the United States. Now that we have Donald Trump in office, I do recall the economy thriving in his first term, yet the threat of tariffs, not just on Mexico and Canada but the whole wide world, has me on edge a bit.

Now, by a bit, I mean a whole hell of a lot.

Democrat Chicago Mayor Uses Trump Tariffs As Opportunity to Raise Taxes
[TOWNHALL] In a classic move of big-government opportunism, reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
Mayor Brandon Johnson
...Hizzonner da Mare of Chicago. He was elected in April 2023 to replace the disastrous Lori Lightfoot and immediately set about out-Richtering her. A member of the Democratic Party (naturally), Johnson previously worked as a social studies teacher in the city's stellar public schools system. He helped organize the 2012 teachers strike. Prior to becoming Da Mare, he served on the Cook County Board of Boodling Commissioners from 2018 to 2023...
(D) is using President Donald Trump
...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down...
's tariffs as a convenient excuse to hike taxes on already overburdened residents. Rather than tightening the city's bloated budget or cutting wasteful spending, Johnson is pointing to international trade tensions to justify squeezing more money out of working families and small businesses.

During an interview with WVON on Thursday, Johnson claimed that ''the fluctuations of the market and Trump's tariffs'' have led to significant financial setbacks for the city, ''just because of the uncertainty and the chaos.'' The Democrat mayor also proposed a financial transaction tax and showed interest in a corporate head tax. He claimed these measures would shift the burden onto the people Trump aims to protect.

''[T]hat is something that I do support, a progressive income tax, a financial transaction tax, there's a corporate head tax, there [are] a lot of things that we can do that [place] the burden on the very people that Donald Trump is trying to protect,'' he added.

In addition, he claimed the city's budget problems stem primarily from pension costs, market fluctuations, and Trump's tariffs, which he says have cost the city's fund about a billion dollars due to ''uncertainty and chaos.'' He warned that Chicago would ''have to do more with less,'' blaming Trump's policies for the city's spiraling economic woes, despite having long soaring pension costs, worsening personnel costs, and a massive debt.

Police find unexploded bomb near Netivot, believe it was left there by Hamas during Oct. 7 attack
[IsraelTimes] The Southern District police say they found an unexploded bomb in southern Israel this morning that they believe was left there by Hamas terrorists during the October 7, 2023, attack.

Officers found the explosive device in a small, suspicious-looking bag in an open area near Netivot.
A photo of the ugly thing can be seen at the link.
A spokesman says the bomb was likely left by Hamas terrorists who tried to invade the city on October 7, 2023, but were thwarted by police and local security forces who worked to encircle the city and guard its entry points.

A police bomb squad is working to neutralize and further examine the explosive.

Human smugglers raise border-crossing prices under Trump after Biden bargain years
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Ruthless human smugglers are charging migrants up to $40,000 for a passage into America under Donald Trump's watchful eye - nearly triple the amount they were charging during the Biden years.

El Paso, Texas is once again the #1 hot spot for border crossings into the US, even though the number of migrants sneaking into the US has plummeted. Across the entire US-Mexico border, 264 people a day are crossing illegally and about 52 of them are doing so in the El Paso Sector, which includes Texas's sixth largest city and all of New Mexico, the US Border Patrol reported in its March encounters. Under Trump, getting into El Paso is harder than ever- meaning the only way in is through cartel smugglers who are charging double and triple than they were before.

A VIP package is now setting some back $40,000-a-head.

'Things Are Moving Quickly' in Maine State Rep's Censure Appeal
[TOWNHALL] Maine state Rep. Laurel Libby (R) said Thursday that ''things are moving quickly'' in her lawsuit against the state's Democratic House speaker after being censured in February for a Facebook post about a high schooler who allegedly competed as a male one year and as a female the next.

''We have filed an emergency appeal in the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and so, that is moving forward,'' Libby told Newsmax.

''We'll be looking for a quick response, because my 9,000 constituents are disenfranchised every day that I cannot speak or vote on their behalf. I'm headed to session from here, and I won't be able to represent them fully.''

Libby stated at the time that she has no plans to back down, saying that ''[B]ullies are pretty predictable. And so, as anticipated, Speaker Ryan Fecteau and the Democrat majority did censure me. And they have declared that I cannot vote or speak on the floor until I apologize."

''But if there's one thing that I know about bullies, is you don't back down," she added. "And so, I have no intention of backing down from this fight and will continue to speak up for Maine girls.''

In a subsequent interview, Libby made the point that ''[W]hat's shocking about it is the biological male participating in girls' sports in Maine. Shortly after President Trump issued his executive order, Maine went against it, and a biological male won the girls' pole vault championship — state championship here in Maine.''

President Trump signed an executive order earlier this year banning men from women's sports, giving federal agencies the power to ensure that Title IX is followed in order for federal funding to be given. The Trump administration states that Title IX's interpretation of ''sex'' means biological sex.

Feral woman's shocking act towards female cop who tried to stop catfight outside California school
Policing in California sounds like a special level of Hell.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Shocking footage captured the moment two coppers fought off several teen girls as they attempted to break up a wild catfight outside a school.

The melee unfolded around 3pm Thursday outside Entrepreneur High School in Highland, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, as a witness filmed the fight escalate to the point where one girl punched and pulled a female officer by the hair.

It reportedly began as officers with the San Bernardino school police attempted to break up a fight in the school parking lot, and the footage begins as several other girls join in the scrum.

As a female officer handcuffed one girl on the ground, a male officer shoved two teens away as he yelled: 'Back up, back up.'

One of the girls then screamed expletives in his face, and struck the officer in retaliation to him pushing her away from the fight.

When the girl then attempted to attack the female officer handcuffing another teen on the ground, the male officer swept her legs and took her to the ground as well to put her under arrest.

At that moment, another girl joined in the chaotic scene as she screamed at the female officer to 'get off of her', and pulled out her phone to film the confrontation.

It appeared the first girl who was arrested had been fighting the second, as when she was picked up in handcuffs she screamed in the other girl's face as she lay on the ground.

This is reflects an unspoken but increasing police belief of being hung out to dry by their department post-arrests when dealing with perpetrators of color. There is an entire litigation attorney industry specializing in racial defendants arrested by white officers, regardless of actual criminal behavior.

Remains of 5,000-year-old woman from the upper crust of the Caral civilization found in Peru
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The remains of a 5,000-year-old woman from the upper layer of the Caral civilization have been discovered on the coast of Peru. This was reported by the British agency Reuters.

"Archaeologists on the coast of Peru have discovered the 5,000-year-old remains of a woman who may have belonged to the upper echelons of the ancient Caral civilization," the report said.

According to the agency, the city of the same name, located approximately 180 km from the Peruvian capital of Lima, is considered the oldest in South America and was inhabited at the same time as the ancient Egyptian, Chinese and Sumerian civilizations.

Archaeologists told reporters that the body of the woman, who died between the ages of 20 and 35, was found in a robe of blue and brown feathers, believed to belong to Amazonian macaws. The tomb was surrounded by offering baskets, vases, pumpkins and a toucan's beak, the researchers said.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, archaeologists previously discovered a Dene (Athabascan) cache dating back about 1,000 years during summer excavations at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Alaska. The Eklutna elders, with whom the researchers consulted, said that there had once been a fishing camp at the site where the cache was found.

In November 2024, in Mexico, scientists from the local National Institute of Anthropology and History discovered an underground portal to the afterlife that was used by ancient Mesoamerican civilizations.

'Funniest Thing I've Read All Day': Elon Musk Mocks Zelensky For Claiming Every U.S. Taxpayer Dollar Is Accounted For
[ZeroHedge] Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has hilariously declared that every single dollar of U.S. taxpayer money sent to Ukraine since Russia’s 2022 invasion has been meticulously tracked and accounted for, dismissing concerns about corruption or misuse. The claim, one of his most audacious yet, came during an interview with Daily Wire co-founder and conservative podcaster Ben Shapiro.

Shapiro, known for his interventionist views regarding foreign affairs, pressed Zelensky on the issue of transparency, zeroing in on the nearly $200 billion in U.S. aid allocated to Ukraine’s defense.

“There’s lot’s a questions about where the money is going pensions, to war profiteering, to corruption,” Shapiro noted, before asking: “What kind of transparency can you provide to the American people to guarantee that there taxpayer dollars are being used in the best possible way to fight Russia and defend Ukraine, and to ensure, if the United States wants, would an audit be possible by the United States for where those dollars are going?”

"As for the audit, the United States has the understand there’s United States inspectors working, there’s inspectors of European countries, because we’ve also allocated their money and grateful to them," Zelensky replied. “That is why we told them at once we’re ready to have any inspections from the very beginning of the way, inspectors coming from the United States, Europe, and our own inspectors.”
To be fair, ‘til now the American inspectors were very likely in on the scam at the behest of the Bidens, père et fils, and their administration.
“We have complete reporting and accounting, absolutely transparent within the ministry of defense,” the Ukrainian president added. “There’s access to all the figures starting from the very first year of the war.”

On the evening of March 22, 2024, terrorists stormed Crocus City Hall, where a concert was to be held. They opened fire on guests and staff, then set a fire. As a result of the terrorist attack, 144 people were killed and 551 were injured.

The Secretary of the Security Council emphasized that threats from terrorist organizations that seek to establish cells on Russian territory, especially in the North Caucasus, still remain. Western countries use terrorism to contain the Russian Federation in Central and South Asia, the Middle East and other regions.

In 2024, more than 200 terrorist attacks were prevented, including 14 in educational institutions and public places. More than 1,800 terrorists were detained, 42 attackers were neutralized. More than 120 thousand materials of terrorist content were removed, accounts worth more than 230 million rubles were blocked.
That sounds awfully impressive.

Tinubu govt urged to engage ex-servicemen in fight against bandits, Boko Haram
[GAZETTENGR] Muhammed Babandede, a former comptroller-general of Nigeria Immigration Service, has asked President Bola Tinubu's government to consider engaging the services of ex-servicemen in the fight against bandidos and Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
Mr Babandede made the call in Abuja at the 21st anniversary of the Peace Building Development Consult book launch and award presentations.

Mr Babandede noted that many able and trained officers had been retired, hence the urgent need to bring them back to assist in the fight against insecurity.

UN agencies for food, refugees plan deep cuts as funding plummets, documents show
[Jpost] The UN agencies for food and refugees are planning deep cuts due to unprecedented funding shortfalls, with the former set to reduce its workforce by up to 30%, affected up to 6,000 jobs.

The humanitarian sector has been roiled by funding cuts from major donors, including by former top donor the United States under President Donald Trump, and by other Western countries as they prioritize defense spending.

California floats plan to allow homeless students to sleep in their cars amid housing crisis
[FoxNews] Democrat's bill would allow car camping for college students in response to sky-high rent prices.
My sister rented a furnished trailer illegally parked in her Santa Cruz landlord’s backyard, back in the 1990s. But formally living in a car is well beyond the pale — how hard can it be to build more college dormitories?
A new bill in the Golden State would allow homeless community college and state university students to sleep in their cars during the blue state's housing crisis.
that's not a "plan". That's an admission
A Public Policy Institute of California report found California has among the lowest homeownership rates and the most expensive housing in the U.S., with rent about 50% higher than the national median.

The California bill seeks to provide a short-term solution to the state's decades-long housing strife.

Assemblymember Corey Jackson, a progressive California Democrat with a doctorate in social work,
Golly…
proposed a bill in March that would require the chancellors of the California state universities and the governing board of each community college district to develop an overnight parking program with "basic needs coordinators and campus security" by late 2026.

"This bill confronts a harsh reality to many of our students who are sleeping in their vehicles or other displaced settings as they are unable to find affordable housing, and that's jeopardizing their education," Jackson said. "What I am proposing is practical, immediate relief, overnight parking programs that turn campus lots into safe, temporary havens while the state works on lasting solutions."
They’ll be ready to rock the next time they have to escape a forest fire, anyway.
Almost three out of five California community college students are housing insecure and one in four are homeless, a survey conducted by the Community College League of California in 2023 found.

Operational and tactical situation in the Kursk direction at the end of April

[ColonelCassad] Operational and tactical situation in the Kursk direction at the end of April

WHAT THE ENEMY IS PREPARING FOR US IN THE SUMY REGION
After the main enemy forces were driven out of the territory of the Kursk region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine concentrated large units on pre-prepared lines in the Sumy border area.

The command of the operational-tactical group "Sumy" (OTG "Sumy") is responsible for organizing the defense in this area, which was tasked with tying down the forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, preventing the withdrawal of the released units to the rear areas for rearmament and their transfer to the Donetsk and Kharkov operational directions.

After the UAV units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation established tight fire control over the main logistics route for rotation, evacuation and supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sudzhansky district, the command of the OTG "Sumy" accelerated the creation of a defense line covering Sumy. The enemy was aware that it would not be able to hold a bridgehead in the Kursk region for a long time, so in November 2024 it began fortification work.

At the moment, Sumy is covered by a chain of fortifications along the highways in the area of the settlements of Belopolye, Rechki, Sklyarovka, Severinovka, Stetskovka, Velyka Chernetchina, Velyka Rybitsa. At the same time, the construction of fortifications was accompanied by a heart-rending howl of UA publics that the preparation of the defense of Sumy has failed, etc.

The highest density of fortifications is recorded to the northwest of Sumy - from Stetskovka to Gritsenkovo, and to the northeast - from Radkovka to Velyka Chernetchina. At the indicated positions, we see units from the 44th and 49th Artillery Brigades, the 643rd Anti-aircraft Machine Gun Battalion, the 48th Engineering Brigade, the 49th Obstacle Brigade and the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade (ObrTrO).

The enemy fears the closure of the flanks of the advancing units of the Russian Armed Forces, therefore it holds a tactically advantageous bridgehead on the border of the Kursk region: in the area of the settlements of Oleshnya and Gornal.

This area is covered by units of reconnaissance and attack UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Miropol tactical direction, stationed in the area of the settlements of Miropolye, Zapselye, Grunovka, Mogritsa (Sumy region). Here the enemy is facilitated by the presence of stable functioning logistics.

In other areas, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not making any attempts to cross the state border of the Russian Federation. Nevertheless, sorties of individual enemy SOF groups are noted in the area of Gogolevka (Kursk region).

Directly on the territory of the Russian Federation (Oleshnya - Gornal strip), units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to be recorded from the following: 129th Separate Bolotnoye Troops, consisting of the 238th, 248th Battalions and the 253rd Assault Battalion "Arey"; 6th Ranger Regiment; 109th Separate Airborne Troops, comprising the 108th Battalion; 241st Separate Airborne Troops, comprising the 243rd and 252nd Battalions; 33rd Engineer Battalion; 82nd Separate Airborne Assault Brigade (AAB), comprising the 1st and 2nd Battalions; 36th Rifle Battalion "Steppen Wolves"; 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade (OMB); 95th AAB, comprising the 1st Airborne Assault Battalion; 210th Assault Regiment "Berlingo"; and units of the "Rugby Team" and "Pegas" RUPPLs.

ENEMY GROUPING IN THE MIROPOL TACTICAL DIRECTION
In the first part of the analysis of the situation in the Kursk direction, we noted:

At the moment, the enemy fears the closure of the flanks of the advancing units of the RF Armed Forces, therefore, it continues to hold a tactically advantageous bridgehead in the Kursk region (in the area of the settlements of Oleshnya and Gornal).

This small bridgehead is covered by enemy forces concentrated in the Miropolye tactical direction: 129th Separate Troops Brigade, consisting of the 239th Battalion and the assault battalion (from among the prisoners) "Shkval"; 17th Separate Brigade of the National Guard "Raid", consisting of 1 battalion; 106th Separate Troops Brigade; and units of reconnaissance and attack UAVs "Casper" and the joint detachment "Shmel".

In the area of the settlements of Grunovka, Glybnoye, Bezdrik (southwest of Miropolye), forces from the 107th Separate Brigade are concentrated. rocket artillery brigade, which inflicts fire damage on positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the area of the settlements of Guevo, Plekhovo, Ozerki, Borki (Kursk region), as well as the 43rd and 44th Artillery brigades. This area is tightly covered by enemy electronic warfare and counter-battery weapons, including those of the 138th Separate Radio-technical Brigade.

The arrival of new enemy UAV units armed with "FPV drones" with an increased flight range is recorded in the Miropolye area. In particular, over the past three weeks they have been inflicting fire damage on vehicles moving along the roads of the Bolshesoldatsky, Belovsky, Korenovsky, Rylsky and Glushkovsky districts of the Kursk region.

Obviously, without a serious advantage on the border, the enemy will work to exhaust our forces. According to some reports, General Syrsky has taken personal control of the issue of maintaining control over the Miropol district by the Sumy Joint Task Force.

If the Russian Armed Forces finally push the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the border area in the Oleshnya-Gornal strip and advance to the Miropol-Zapselye area, the enemy units holding back the left flank of our units moving to Yunakovka will find themselves squeezed from two sides. It is also necessary to take into account the state of the enemy troops in this area, which are pretty battered in the battles in the Kursk region (read more about this below).

UKRAINIAN UAV FORCES IN THE SUMY REGION: TACTICS AND INTERACTION ISSUES
Despite the fact that the enemy suffered significant losses during the retreat from the Kursk region, and many units need to be withdrawn for rearmament, the Sumy Joint Task Force command sets the task of holding positions, regardless of losses, which contributes to the decline in morale of the Ukrainian troops. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are relying on wearing down the advancing units of the Russian Armed Forces by permanently deploying reconnaissance and strike UAVs (RUBPLA).

The RUBPLA units concentrated in the area of Yunakovka, Vodolaga, Belovody, Yablonovka, Maryino, Sadki, Mogritsa, Zapselye, Miropolye (Sumy Region) deserve special attention:

▪️413th Separate Battalion of Unmanned Systems (UAS) "Raid", consisting of 3rd Battalion "Nachtigal";

▪️ separate units of the RUBPL: "Malibu", "Pumba", "Alcor", "Grom Team", "Destruction Team", "Syndicate", "Couriers of the Apostle Peter", "Foxtrot", "Chimera", "BIKER'S TEAM", "Erebus Group", "Bombassaero", "Whirlwind";

▪️ company of attack UAVs "Serafimi";

▪️ special forces detachment "Faust";

▪️ platoon of attack UAVs "Ignis Vindicta" (R9);

▪️ battalion of UAVs of the 36th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade and a unit of attack UAVs of the 501st Battalion of the same brigade;

▪️ platoon of UAVs "Simargl";

▪️ battalion of UAVs of the 21st Separate Naval Infantry Brigade;

▪️UAV company of the 25th Separate Assault Battalion;

▪️UAV detachment "Shadow";

▪️UAV battalion of the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade;

▪️UAV company "Pegas" of the 1st Separate Tank Brigade;

▪️UAV battalion "Khorne Group";

▪️RUPPL platoon of the Separate Special Operations Center "West-1" of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

▪️RUPPL unit of the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade, consisting of the 4th Self-propelled Artillery Division.

The use of UAVs by the enemy in the direction of active offensive operations of the Russian Armed Forces is not always systematized. The enemy pursues the goal of inflicting maximum damage on our units and slowing down the pace of our advance into the depths of the Sumy region. Uses pre-prepared lines, fortifications and defense lines in forested areas, as well as control of dominant heights.

The main areas of concentration of the UAV units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are covered by barrel artillery and electronic warfare. Counter-battery weapons (AN / TPQ-36 and AN / TPQ-50, made in the USA), tied to the duty crews of the UAVs from the above-mentioned units, are actively used.

The enemy is improving the means of detecting our UAVs, seeking to identify the locations, positions of our crews and command posts. The use of aerostats of the Ukrainian manufacturer "Aero Bavovna" has been noted, which carry up to 10 kg of payload and rise to an altitude of more than 1000 meters.

Aerostats, along with radio relay and reconnaissance, are used as an interceptor. The aerostat is equipped with a device for placing an interceptor drone, while the operator monitors his sector through a thermal imager and, upon detection of a UAV, drops a kamikaze drone for ramming.

We believe that we need to take into account these aspects of the enemy's tactics when organizing further work in the Sumy operational direction.

Attack on Crimea. 04/24/2025
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Telegram channel of @rybar

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] 🔻Last night, the Ukrainian side again attacked the Crimean peninsula with drones. In recent weeks, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been attacking the northwestern part of the peninsula daily with three to four UAVs.

▪️But this night, 60 drones were used. 58 drones were destroyed by the Black Sea Fleet aviation forces, the 31st and 52nd Air Defense Divisions and maneuverable fire groups in the area of Yevpatoriya and Armyansk.

▪️There was no actual damage to military facilities. One of the UAVs hit a false position in the vicinity of Yevpatoriya, and another crashed without detonation into a 10-story building in Komsomolske. There were no casualties as a result of the attack.

▪️The launch was carried out from the Zatoka area in the Odessa region along two routes - in the direction of Yevpatoriya and towards Krasnoperekopsk - this area has been the main target of Ukrainian attacks for almost six months.

🖍Such an emphasis of Ukrainian formations on this part of the peninsula raises certain suspicions. If we recall previous strikes, including by means of unmanned boats with FPV drones, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are specifically hitting air defense.

🚩Time after time, radar stations, launchers and other positions on the coast from Lake Donuzlav to Armyansk come under the sights of UAVs. And the task is simple - to weaken the defense in this area.

❗️If we recall how many floating craft the Ukrainian formations have accumulated in the Black Sea, as well as the arrival of special units of the Main Intelligence Directorate ( https://t.me/inners_of_the_politics/419 ) in the Odessa region, a logical question arises: why is all this being done? And the answer, it seems to us, lies on the surface.

High resolution map

I would expect that the enemy in the near future will probably try to resume raids on the Chornomornaftogaz rigs off the western coast of Crimea + a landing on the Tendrovskaya Spit is not excluded.
A direct one-way landing on Crimea looks like an unlikely scenario for now, unless the goal is to sacrifice a landing for the sake of short-term PR.

Europe
Drug mafia in France declared open war on authorities and police
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Olesya Orlenko

[REGNUM] For the second week, organised attacks on prisons and their staff have continued in France. This unprecedented phenomenon is already being called extraordinary.

It demonstrates the catastrophic state of the country's penitentiary system. While the authorities are looking for a solution, the employees of the relevant institutions are in fear and despondency.

AMRA LIBERATED
In recent years, drug trafficking has increased dramatically in France. Statistics show that between 2023 and 2024, drug trafficking in the country increased by 130%. This puts it in first place in Europe in terms of illegal sales and use of drugs.

Accordingly, the number and influence of organized crime groups is growing. These structures have gone beyond the territories in which they previously operated, and are gradually taking over more and more cities, and the population is beginning to feel the effects of their activities.

And, of course, the process of expansion turns into tragedies. In particular, shootouts become part of everyday life in many cities.

As a result of such showdowns, many civilians have died over the past three years. And the executors of the "orders" for murder are often minors. The situation continues to worsen every year.

A parliamentary commission to study the issue of drug trafficking, created in 2023, found that drug trafficking has increased fivefold in recent decades.

However, the real marker for officials and society, showing how powerful the French mafia has become, was the escape from custody of Mohamed Amr, the leader of one of the criminal groups.

The convoy escorting Amr from the courthouse to prison was attacked by a group of unknown assailants. After a shootout in which two guards were killed and three were seriously wounded, the criminal managed to escape and leave the country.

Amr was then detained in Romania and is awaiting transfer back to France. But the authorities wondered whether the same situation could happen again, with the same or another prisoner.

DARMANIN'S LAW
Since December 2024, the country has been developing a law to combat drug trafficking. Its initiator was Gerald Darmanin, who at that time took over as head of the Ministry of Justice.

The main point of the bill was the idea of placing dangerous leaders of criminal groups in specially protected prisons. According to Darmanin, it is also important to deprive criminals of the opportunity to communicate with the outside world. To this end, the draft provides for stricter rules for searching prisoners' personal belongings and confiscating their mobile phones.

The lower house of the French parliament has already voted for the bill, and its final approval is expected on April 28-29.

Representatives of the French criminal world were predictably unhappy with the upcoming innovations. In response to their adoption, a series of attacks on correctional institutions and penitentiary system employees began on April 13.

The criminals set fire to their personal transport and damage the housing of prison employees. They shoot firearms at the walls, doors and windows of places of detention, using Kalashnikov assault rifles.

Of particular concern to the staff are the constant threats that either come in the form of ominous messages or are made directly on the streets when encountering strangers.

DDPF
Interior Minister Bruno Retaillo announced statistics on April 23: 65 attacks were recorded, including attempts that were prevented.

Responsibility for these crimes is claimed by members of the Telegram group "Defense of the Rights of French Prisoners" (DDPF). According to them, the conditions of serving sentences are very difficult due to prison overcrowding.

Thus, according to data as of March 1, correctional institutions in France were filled to 131%. In addition, as members of the DDPF say, the procedure for searching prisoners is humiliating for human dignity.

In an attempt to determine who is leading the DDPF group and these attacks, police have put forward the main theory behind the surge in violence: criminal underworld revenge for the new drug trafficking law.

Moreover, the offenders began to have imitators who had no direct connection with them: this is how one of the cars burned down on April 22 in the vicinity of Lyon.

Experts emphasize that previously, organized crime tried to avoid confrontation—and especially direct armed clashes—with the state machine in general and law enforcement agencies in particular.

Now, however, criminals are openly conducting coordinated military operations, which suggests that the mafia has declared some kind of war on the authorities and the police.

PRISONERS ARE DEPRESSED
The question being discussed in the socio-political space is: how did the situation get to the point where it became possible for large criminal forces to exist that feel quite confident and are not afraid to challenge the state?

One of the reasons cited is the weakening of state political and social institutions: a reduction in programs to work with the population, the abolition of the institution of local police officers, a decline in the quality of education, etc.

To this must be added a deep economic crisis with no prospects for its resolution in the near future.

All these factors contribute to the deterioration of the social atmosphere and living conditions. And the resulting vacuum is filled by criminals, who expand their activities and recruit new supporters.

According to both Darmanin and Prime Minister François Bayrou, such a blatant reaction from the criminal world demonstrates the correctness of the government's actions in tackling the drug trafficking problem.

The authorities promise to take measures to protect the employees of the penitentiary system soon. In the meantime, employees of places of detention complain of depression and stress, and each institution is trying to introduce measures to protect its employees.

Pam Bondi Divulges the Disturbing Details on Two Judges Arrested for Protecting Illegal Immigrants
[TOWNHALL] Attorney General Pam Bondi highlighted two cases in which federal authorities arrested two judges for allegedly trying to shield illegal immigrants colonists from deportation.

The two cases occurred over the past few days in Wisconsin and New Mexico. During an appearance on Fox News' "America Reports," Bondi commented on Judge Joel Cano and his wife's arrest in New Mexico.

The couple is accused of harboring an undocumented Democrat suspected of being a member of the Tren de Aragua street gang in their home.

Cano is facing obstruction charges, Bondi explained. ''He took one of the TdA members' cell phones himself, took it, beat it with a hammer, destroyed it, and then walked the pieces to a city dumpster to dispose of it to protect him.''

His wife is also facing charges for destroying evidence, the attorney general said.

#3  Wisconsin judge may have had authority to grant her illegal sanctuary in her court until ICE came back with a judicial warrant - standard administrative warrant would only be valid on public property and it might be arguable that a courtroom is not exactly public property under the law. ICE could have just stayed outside and arrested him when he left or waited for their judicial warrant and gone in and gotten him. We'll have to wait and see how it unfolds but I will be surprised if the charges against the judge stand.

Drone wounds 8 in Lebanon after exchange of shelling on Syria border
[NAHARNET] Lebanese official media said eight people were maimed in a drone attack in a border village, as Syria said it responded to artillery fire from Leb

Eight Syrian refugees were maimed and taken to hospital in the northeast Lebanese area of Hermel after an "explosives-laden drone blew up" in the border village of Hawsh al-Sayyed
...Arabic term meaning your/his lordship. Groveling in His Exalted Presence is encouraged...
Ali, Lebanon's National News Agency said.

The Lebanese Army sent reinforcements "after gunfire was heard," the report added.

Syrian state news agency SANA, carrying a statement from an unnamed defense ministry source, said Lebanon's Hezbollah had launched artillery shells at Syrian army positions in the Qusayr area of Homs province, near the Lebanese border.

"Our forces immediately targeted the sources of the fire," the statement said.

"We are in contact with the Lebanese Army to evaluate the incident and have stopped targeting the sources of fire" at the Lebanese Army's request, the statement added.

Lebanon and Syria's defense ministers signed an agreement last month to address border security threats after festivities left 10 dead.

Earlier in March, Syria's new authorities accused Hezbollah of abducting three soldiers into Lebanese territory and killing them.

The Iran-backed group, which fought with the forces of toppled Syrian president Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

Lebanon gets $250 million World Bank loan to ease electricity crisis — Naharnet
[NAHARNET] The World Bank will grant Leb
...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects....
a $250 million loan that will be used to help ease electricity cuts in the crisis-hit country, the country's finance ministry said.

Lebanon has faced major electricity problems for decades, but the situation became worse following an economic meltdown that began in late 2019. The 14-month Israel-Hebzollah war that ended in late November also badly damaged electricity and other infrastructure in parts of Lebanon.

The state-run National News Agency said the deal between Lebanon and the World Bank was signed in Washington by Finance Minister Yassin Jaber and Jean-Christophe Carret, the bank's regional director.

Lebanese officials including Jaber, Economy Minister Amer Bisat and Central Bank Governor Karim Souaid are in Washington for the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

"This loan forms a strong push to steps of reforms that Lebanon is carrying out to fix this sector," Jaber was cited by the news agency as saying. Most people in Lebanon rely on private generators to produce electricity that is high in cost and causes pollution.

The loan will be used to improve collection of electricity bills as well as improving solar farms that would save $40 million annually, according to the report.

Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam have vowed to work on implementing reforms and fighting corruption and decades-old mismanagement by the ruling class to get Lebanon out of an economic crisis that the World Bank has described as among world's worst since the 1850s.

Arabia
Mercenaries engage in violent infighting in occupied Mahrah
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Hand-to-hand confrontations broke out between recruits from the Saudi-backed ''Dera al-Watan'' factions and coppers from the city of Qishn in Mahrah province, eastern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
Informed sources reported that the reason for these festivities was the police's seizure of a truck loaded with 300 cartons of cycle of violences and spare parts on Tuesday. The truck was heading to Socotra via the Qishn port, west of al-Ghaydah city.

The sources explained that one of the ''Dera al-Watan'' recruits intended to send the shipment to a merchant in Socotra, and the police tried to confiscate it, but the ''Dera al-Watan'' recruits strongly objected, which led to the matter escalating into verbal altercations and fistfights.

These arguments almost turned into armed confrontations near the port, the sources added.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The war was caused by talk about NATO
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Bris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] "I think the reason the war started was because they started talking about joining NATO"

(c) Trump

We've known this since 2014.

Only here Trump is being disingenuous again. It was the US that consistently dragged Ukraine into NATO, and not Ukraine itself that decided to do so. It was George W. Bush who opened this door back in the 2000s. Trump's attempts to pretend that the US had nothing to do with it are quite pathetic.

Ukraine also shamefacedly admitted to killing its own prisoners of war in the downed Il-76 in the Kursk region.

"I'll explain with an example: when we receive a package and see that there are body parts in it, we understand that we are talking about the remains of more than one body. Remember the situation with the downed Il-76, in which there were about 60 prisoners of war? More than 500 remains were returned from that plane"

(c) Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Timchenko

Which is what was said from the very beginning. And how many cries there were that "there were no prisoners of war there" and all this was "an FSB provocation". In fact, they deliberately shot down the plane with their prisoners of war using a Patriot air defense system.

Kennedy Center LGBTQ pride events have been canceled: organizers
Oh well.
[NYPOST] Organizers and the Kennedy Center have canceled a week's worth of events celebrating LGBTQ rights for this summer's World Pride festival in Washington, DC, amid a shift in priorities and the ousting of leadership at one of the nation's premier cultural institutions.

Multiple artists and producers involved in the center's Tapestry of Pride schedule, which had been planned for June 5 to 8, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that their events had been quietly canceled or moved to other venues. And in the wake of the cancellations, Washington's Capital Pride Alliance has disassociated itself from the Kennedy Center.

''We are a resilient community, and we have found other avenues to celebrate,'' said June
"Jim"
Crenshaw, deputy director of the alliance. ''We are finding another path to the celebration — but the fact that we have to maneuver in this way is disappointing.''

#1  ....Works for me.

Kennedy Center should be a showcase for all that is great in the Arts, not whatever cause happens to be up front today. Mind you, I gather that the place is falling apart and when we were there a few years ago the decor and design was so dated (54 years ago, for cryin' out loud) as to be embarassing.

Al-Qassam Brigades: We will fight till either victory or martyrdom
Martyrdom it is, then. Or rather, more martyrdom. Y’all have a large collection of martyrs already — some number well over 20,000.

The feats of our fighters from Beit Hanoun to Rafah are a source of pride, a military miracle, and a call up for the Umma's youths and forces, Abu Obeida said in a statement .

He added: ''Our fighters in the combat zones and defensive ambushes are ready for confrontation and have pledged to remain steadfast until victory or martyrdom.''

The Paleostinian resistance intensified its attacks on the Israeli occupation forces across Gaza Strip, inflicting more losses upon them.

In this context, al-Qassam Brigades announced that its fighters managed to snipe four Zionist occupation soldiers in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, leaving them dead or injured.

Israeli media outlets reported casualties among a special Army force in Rafah, South of Gaza, adding that 4 injured soldiers, including 3 seriously, have been evacuated.

The Zionist media also indicated that the deputy commander of a company was injured in an anti-armor fire in Rafah.

Meanwhile,

al-Quds Brigades also announced bombarding the Zionist enemy forces and vehicles stationed in al-Muntar Hill, east of Gaza City, with mortar shells.

At least 50 Palestinians massacred in Gaza

Strip during the past 24 hours in the ongoing aggression on the besieged enclave.

The ministry said, in a statement on Thursday, that two of the deaders were recovered from under the rubble caused by previous attacks, noting that the corpse count since March 18, 2025 has risen to 1,978 deaders and 5,207 injured.

This brings the toll of the Israeli aggression to 51,355 deaders and 117,248 injured since October 7, 2023.

A number of victims are still under the rubble and in the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews have been unable to reach them, the ministry added.

The Israeli view:
Intense fighting reported in Gaza, as Katz says combat has ‘heavy prices’

[IsraelTimes] Reservist seriously wounded, 2 lightly hurt in southern Strip, as Israel said to carry out major strikes across the enclave; IDF warns residents of Gaza City’s Zeitoun to evacuate

, Defense Minister Israel Katz said Friday that the Israel Defense Forces was making strides but paying a heavy price in the enclave, where a reservist was killed on Thursday and another was seriously maimed by RPG fire on Friday afternoon.

"The achievements are great, but still, the dangers are great and the prices are heavy," wrote Katz on X.

His comments came as heavy strikes were reported in both the northern and southern Gaza Strip.

"Thousands of IDF soldiers in the standing army and reserves are now heroically fighting in Gaza for the release of hostages and to destroy Hamas

terrorists," said Katz, adding that the military was operating "intensely" to ensure ground troops were protected.

"All Israeli citizens must embrace and strengthen IDF commanders and soldiers and pray for their safety and success," he said.

An hour after Katz’s statement, the IDF issued an evacuation warning to Paleostinians in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City ahead of Israeli strikes on the area in the Strip’s north.

In a post on X, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man Col. Avichay Adraee published a map of the area that is to be evacuated, saying the warning came in light of attacks by terror groups against Israeli forces in the area. Adraee urged the Paleostinians to head for western Gaza City.

Mohammed al-Mughayyir, an official with Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defense rescue agency, told AFP that the corpse count from Israeli strikes on Friday had risen to at least 40.

WAFA, the Paleostinian Authority’s official news agency, said that an elderly Paleostinian couple was killed Friday by Israeli artillery fire near Zeitoun, another Paleostinian was killed in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood and three were killed in an airstrike on a school housing displaced people in central Gaza City.

According to WAFA, two more Paleostinians were killed in dronezaps on Jabalia and Beit Hanoun, also in northern Gaza.

Hamas’s civil defense agency also reported at least five people — a couple and their three children — had been killed Friday when their tent was struck in the al-Mawasi area of the southern city of Khan Younis.

Agency front man Mahmud Bassal said the dear departed woman had been pregnant.

The IDF did not immediately comment on those reported strikes. The military says it takes precautionary steps to minimize harm to civilians, accuses Hamas of embedding itself in civilian infrastructure, including schools, to carry out attacks on Israel and Israeli troops.

The military said its fighter jets had on Friday afternoon carried out several strikes in the Tel Sultan neighborhood of Rafah, south of Khan Younis, in an attempt to kill button men who fired an RPG at an army Humvee, and possibly also opened fire with light arms.

The attack seriously maimed a soldier from the IDF’s 205th Reserve Armored Brigade’s 5250th Battalion, and lightly injured two more troops, the military said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout the long-awaited message arrived. They quickly got to work with their decoder rings...
the Hamas civil defense agency on Friday said the toll from an Israel airstrike on a house in northern Gaza’s Jabalia the previous day had risen to 23.

"Civil defense teams recovered 11 bodies last night and this morning following the Israeli bombing that targeted a residential house ... in Jabalia," Mohammed al-Mughayyir, an official with the agency, told AFP.

"This is in addition to the 12 victims recovered at the time of the attack yesterday," he added.

The IDF said on Thursday that it had struck a Hamas "command and control center" in the area of Jabalia, without specifying the target.

Over 2,000 Paleostinians have been killed in Gaza since Israel resumed hostilities there on March 18, out of more than 51,400 killed since the war there was sparked by the Hamas onslaught of October 7, 2023, according to the Hamas-controlled health ministry.

The figures cannot be independently verified, and do not distinguish between combatants and civilians. Israel says it has killed some 20,000 combatants in battle as of January, and another 1,600 turbans inside Israel during the Hamas onslaught.

Bitar questions ex-PM Hassan Diab in Beirut port blast case
[NAHARNET] Former prime minister Hassan Diab appeared Friday before Judge Tarek Bitar for interrogation in the case of the 2020 catastrophic blast at Beirut's port.

Diab arrived from abroad for the questioning and he reportedly met with Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Latif Daryan, who ''advised'' him to appear before Bitar in order not to be accused of obstructing the investigation.

Former General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim and former State Security head Tony Saliba had been interrogated by Bitar earlier this month.
