IDF says 3 key terrorists killed in recent strikes, including leader of Oct. 7 Kissufim attack
[IsraelTimes] Recent Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip killed three prominent terror operatives, including a Hamas terrorist who led the attack on Kissufim on October 7, 2023, the IDF announces.

According to the military, a strike in Gaza City on Thursday killed Ali Naddal Husni Sarfiti, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Sarfiti had been jailed in Israel between 2002 and 2015 for involvement in terror activity, including providing military training and planning a suicide bombing on behalf of the PFLP, the IDF says.

“After his release, he operated in recent years to carry out terror attacks in Israeli territory,” the military says, adding that he was in contact with terror operatives in the West Bank and transferred millions of shekels to them for the attacks.

Additionally, the IDF says recent strikes in Gaza killed Sa’id Abu Hasnan, a member of Hamas’s Nukhba force in the terror group’s Deir al-Balah Battalion, “who infiltrated [Israel] and commanded the infiltration at Kissufim” on October 7; and Mustafa al-Mutawwak, chief of operations in Hamas’s Jabalia Battalion, who led attacks on Israeli troops in Gaza.

Palestinians report 3 killed in Israeli strike in Gaza’s Khan Younis
[IsraelTimes] Three Palestinians were killed an Israeli drone strike in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, the Hamas-linked Shehab news agency reports.

There is no comment from the IDF on the alleged strike, which comes amid offensive operations in the Gaza Strip.

There is no verification of the toll and Hamas-run authorities do not differentiate between civilians and combatants.

Four killed in overnight Gaza strikes, Hamas-controlled authorities say
[IsraelTimes] Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip overnight killed four Palestinians, according to local health officials from Hamas-controlled authorities.

Gaza’s Hamas-controlled civil defense agency says a number of people were additionally injured in an Israeli airstrike on tents near the Al-Iqleem area.

The figures cannot be independently verified and do not differentiate between civilians and combatants.

There is no comment from the Israeli military, which has said in the past that it is targeting terror operatives and infrastructure in the Strip.

IDF foils attempt to smuggle guns across border from Egypt via drone
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it foiled an attempt last night to smuggle 10 assault rifles into Israel from Egypt using a drone.

The drone had been identified crossing the border from Egypt into Israel, before it was downed by troops of the Border Defense Corps’ Caracal Battalion.

The drone and guns were handed over to police for further investigation.

In recent months, there have been frequent attempts to bring weapons and drugs over the Egypt border using drones. There have also been attempts to smuggle similar contraband from Israel into Gaza using drones.

France complains after Israel bars entry to officials; denies claims groups linked to PFLP
[IsraelTimes] France condemns Israel’s decision to cancel the entry visas of 27 French left-wing lawmakers and local officials two days before their planned visit to the country, says a French government spokesperson.

“The decision… is regrettable, unhelpful, and potentially harmful to France-Israel relations,” says the official at a press briefing.

The spokesperson says entry was denied to two French delegations “led by associations working toward cooperation” that “included several elected officials who were scheduled to visit Israel and the Palestinian Territories.”

Israel’s interior ministry said visas for the French officials were canceled under a law that allows authorities to ban people who could act against Israel.

In a statement on Monday, Israel’s embassy in France said any individual or delegation associated with the Decentralised Cooperation Network for Palestine or the France-Palestine Solidarity Association (AFPS) would not be permitted to enter the country because, according to the embassy, they were linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terror group.
“Keep your nasty, stinky Communists to yourselves. we have enough of our own here, we don’t need more.”
“The public allegations made by the Israeli Embassy in France, which imply a possible link between these associations and terrorist organizations, are unacceptable,” says the French official, adding that “France calls on the Israeli authorities to reconsider their decisions, which undermine actors working toward a sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians.”

Kurdish-led forces in eastern Syria say five fighters killed in ISIS attacks
[IsraelTimes] Kurdish-led forces say they have lost five fighters to Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group attacks in eastern Syria, adding that they have intensified security measures in the area.

"Five of our fighters were martyred and several maimed while repelling two attacks" in Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Democratic Forces says in a statement.

They were among "a series of organized terrorist attacks" in the province, the SDF says, adding: "Our forces... have intensified security measures and increased patrols throughout the region."

The SDF played a key role in the US-backed campaign against ISIS, which culminated in the jihadists’ loss of their last territory in Syria in 2019.

But holdouts continue to wage deadly attacks from hideouts in remote areas and are particularly active in the vast Syrian Desert.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported a decrease in ISIS attacks in areas under the control of the central government in Damascus since Islamist-led rebels toppled longtime ruler Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Horror of Homs...
in December.

The SDF-controlled northeast, however, has seen an increase in attacks, according to the Britannia-based war monitor.

The Kurds established de facto autonomy in the northeast in the early years of the civil war, which broke out in 2011.

But SDF chief Mazloum Abdi signed an agreement with interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa last month to integrate Kurdish institutions into the Syrian state.

Report: One dead, two injured in explosion at gunpowder warehouse in central Iran
An attack, inshallah, or careless handling again?
[IsraelTimes] At least one person is dead and two others are injured as a result of an explosion in a warehouse in Isfahan, central Iran, local media reports.

The explosion is said to have occurred at a warehouse of the fireworks and gunpowder manufacturer Avanar Parsian Chemical Industries Complex.

Iran International reports, however, that Avanar Parsian may also have ties to the Iranian military, as it holds licenses that allow it to produce and trade commercial, industrial, and chemical explosives.

The warehouse blast comes on the heels of a deadly explosion and fire at a port in southern Iran earlier this week, in which more than 70 people were killed and over 1,000 were injured.

Drone, apparently from Yemen, shot down by Air Force outside of Israeli territory
[IsraelTimes] A drone launched at Israel “from the east,” was shot down by the Israeli Air Force a short while ago, the military says.

The drone was intercepted before crossing into Israeli territory and as such, no sirens sounded “according to protocol,” the IDF adds.

The drone was apparently launched from Yemen.

Iraq
Drone attack injures two Peshmerga in Duhok province
[Rudaw] An unidentified explosive-laden drone on Tuesday targeted Peshmerga forces in the Amedi district of Duhok province, injuring two personnel, a senior security source told Rudaw, a day after a drone attack injured three other Peshmerga members in the same area.

"The drone fell on a Peshmerga military base, injuring two personnel," said the source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, adding that the two Peshmerga are in stable, pH balanced condition.

In a similar incident in the same town on Monday, another explosive-laden drone injured two Peshmerga while a third one was experiencing psychological distress.

The area is known for armed conflict between the Ottoman Turkish army and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

The Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) confirmed both attacks in a statement on Tuesday, blaming a "terrorist group" without naming it.

"Yesterday and this morning, a terrorist group carried out two separate drone attacks targeting Peshmerga force bases on the border of Duhok province, resulting in five Peshmerga being maimed," read the statement.

"The condition of the maimed is good, and the Peshmerga are ready with iron will to respond to any plot or attack by adversaries," it added.

PKK says expects Ocalan to lead party congress
[Rudaw] The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Monday stated that they expect the group’s incarcerated

"We hear that Leader Apo is hopeful and continuing his efforts. However,

we have yet to receive anything concrete that would allow the implementation of what was outlined in the February 27 call," read a statement from the PKK, adding, "We hope for a change in this situation - that Leader Apo will achieve conditions where he can live and work freely and be able to lead the party congress that everyone eagerly awaits."

PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan, who has been held in Imrali prison in northwest Turkey since 1999.

Ocalan called on the group to disarm and disband in a historic call on February 27, requesting them to take the struggle for Kurdish rights into the political sphere. Nevertheless, despite constantly showing rhetorical support, neither the Ottoman Turkish government nor the PKK has so far leaped towards actual peace.

The PKK has repeatedly stated it is unable to dissolve fully without Ocalan's attendance at an official congress to ratify such a decision.

Ocalan’s message sparked hope for an end to the conflict that has taken 40,000 lives and has been welcomed by many Western countries, including the US.

Despite the ceasefire, Turkey has continued to strike alleged PKK positions in the Kurdistan Region, where the group is headquartered.

On Wednesday, Ottoman Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler said that Ankara will later inform the PKK of the designated location where they should lay down their arms.

Omer Celik, spokesperson for Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), said last week that "new developments" could arise later this month regarding the grinding of the peace processor.

Founded in 1978, the PKK initially struggled for autonomy but now seeks broader cultural and political rights within Turkey. It is designated a terrorist organization by Ankara and its Western allies.

Long-awaited Harvard antisemitism report shows intense campus hostility to Jews, Israelis
[IsraelTimes] University’s president apologizes as task force urges reforms to admissions, curriculum, research and bias training; ‘being Jewish was largely irrelevant’ before Oct. 7, says student

Harvard University on Tuesday released its long-awaited internal report on campus antisemitism, depicting a hostile atmosphere toward Jews and Israelis before and after the October 2023 invasion of Israel.
Jew hate had become fashionable years before 10/7. And Harvard prides itself on being a thought leader in every area, which means entirely too many of them slavishly follow the common wisdom, however stupid and vicious it may be.
The report came amid heavy pressure on the university from the Trump administration and outlines a series of recommendations the university should take to remedy the campus environment.

The work of Paul of Tarsus (formerly Saul) as I recall. The Jerusalem faction led by Jesus brothers insisted that theirs was entirely a Jewish sect, while Paul claimed his own revelation gave him the responsibility to preach to and convert the gentiles without requiring conversion to Judaism first. The Roman conquest of Jerusalem in 70 AD made clear, as far as the followers of Christ were concerned, God’s opinion on the subject. And certainly the gentiles were happy to get all the morals, ethics, and monotheism without the limitations of keeping kosher and the discomforts of male circumcision.

ICC prosecutor reportedly ordered to keep silent on arrest warrants for Israelis
[IsraelTimes] Judges tell Karim Khan behind closed doors that public announcements are putting pressure on international court investigating alleged war crimes, Guardian reports

International Criminal Court judges have reportedly forbidden prosecutor Karim Khan from publicly disclosing any new applications for arrest warrants in his case against Israel, in a move apparently aimed at lowering pressure on the war crimes tribunal.

The secret order bars Khan from publicly announcing applications to the court for arrest warrants or his intention to seek them, as he looks to level fresh war crimes charges against Israelis, UK newspaper The Guardian reported Monday.

rebels in mid-March, the Pentagon said Tuesday.

The Houthis began targeting shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in late 2023 and the United States responded with strikes against them starting early the following year.

Since March 15, "USCENTCOM strikes have hit over 1,000 targets, killing Houthi fighters and leaders... and degrading their capabilities," Pentagon front man Sean Parnell said in a statement, referring to the military command responsible for the Middle East.

Britannia said on Wednesday it had joined the United States in carrying out strikes against Houthi targets.

"UK forces participated in a joint operation with US forces against a Houthi military target in Yemen," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

It said the Royal Air Force had struck buildings around 25 kilometers (15 miles) south of the capital Sanaa at night, which were being used by Houthi rebels to manufacture drones.

CENTCOM on Sunday had put the figure at more than 800 targets hit since mid-March, saying hundreds of Houthi fighters had been killed as a result.

2025 Q1 GDP contracts due to import inventory buildup
[BEA.gov] Real gross domestic product (GDP) decreased at an annual rate of 0.3 percent in the first quarter of 2025 (January, February, and March), according to the advance estimate released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the fourth quarter of 2024, real GDP increased 2.4 percent. The decrease in real GDP in the first quarter primarily reflected an increase in imports, which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, and a decrease in government spending. These movements were partly offset by increases in investment, consumer spending, and exports.

Indiana Middle School Hosted ‘Racially Exclusive Party' For Students, New Complaint Alleges
[Daily Caller] An Indiana middle school is facing a civil rights complaint over a "racially exclusive party" one teacher hosted for select students in her class.

A sixth-grade teacher at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School in Akron, Indiana, allegedly held a party in January with only Hispanic students while forcing the others to sit in a study hall, according to the complaint filed Friday with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights and Department of Justice (DOJ) Civil Rights Division.

"The School restricted non-Hispanic students from enjoying the privilege of participating in a party celebrating Día de Los Reyes Magos, or Three Kings Day, during school hours, despite the claim that the school loves to ’embrace cultural traditions,'" the complaint by the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL), a conservative legal group, alleges. "The school separated the children by race and let those of the ’right’ race enter the room of celebration, while the others remained outside. This is a clear violation of Title VI." Tippecanoe Valley Middle School did not respond to a request for comment.

VDH - Trump's counterrevolution and first 100 days only the beginning
[Free Press] No prior modern Republican president has sought to launch a counterrevolution aimed at reversing the economic, political, cultural, social, and military progressive trajectory of the modern era.

Trump has done just that—and in his first 100 days—in a comprehensive fashion that perhaps surpasses the ambitious agendas of even the first three months of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal or Ronald Reagan’s efforts to unleash the American free market and win the Cold War.

It is still far too early to assess the success or failure of such an unprecedented effort—given Trump’s wide-ranging, multifront offensives to redefine entirely trade and tariffs; restore deterrence abroad; rearm and refashion the military; end two theater wars in Ukraine and the Middle East; address deficits and debt; radically downsize government; eliminate the heresies of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the Green New Deal, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG); reform the universities; stop biological males from competing in women’s sports; and restore American confidence in, and reverence for, its founding, traditional values, and past achievements.

Despite Wall Street volatility in reaction to Trump’s tariffs, recent March—April data on job growth, inflation, energy prices, and corporate profit remain strong. The public—50 percent of which owns only about 1 percent worth of the stock market’s capitalization—is confused about investor hysteria. The Dow is about where it was gyrating from last May to August, when a 40,000- to 41,000-point summit was then considered astronomical and unprecedented.

The most controversial issue, of course, remains tariffs and trade. As long as Trump fixates on parity and reciprocity as part of a larger effort symmetrically to reduce or even end tariffs, he will retain public support—and likely reach deals with the five to six entities that account for the vast majority of trade disagreements (China, the ASEAN nations, the EU, Canada, and Mexico).

But if he doubles down on tariffs as a new source of massive revenue, the data does not support his argument. And the public will resent tariffing partners that run deficits with us as well as the idea in general of using asymmetrical tariffs for purely profitable purposes.

On the plus side, the border is now miraculously closed tight—something said to be impossible by the prior administration without "comprehensive immigration reform."

The public still supports the administration’s efforts to deport the 10 million-plus who entered illegally, especially the estimated 400,000—500,000 with criminal backgrounds. Trump was given a political gift from the left when it sought to canonize disreputable figures such as Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Luigi Mangione, and Mahmoud Khalil.

India's Modi gives army freedom to act as tensions rise with Pakistan after deadly terror attack
[FoxNews] Pakistani minister claims India 'intends carrying out a military action' against his country 'in the next 24-36 hours'

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is giving the armed forces near complete freedom of action to respond following a deadly attack on tourists in the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region on April 22 that saw 26 people killed by terrorists. India and Pakistan have exchanged fire every day since the attack along the Line of Control that separates the Indian and Pakistani areas of Kashmir.

The Times of India reported on Tuesday that Modi has given the military the operational freedom to decide on the mode, targets, and timing of the response to the attack in Kashmir.

Modi is set to convene another meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Wednesday to coordinate India’s next moves.

The move comes as Pakistan's Minister for information and broadcasting claimed on X that his country has "credible intelligence that India intends carrying out military action against Pakistan in the next 24-36 hours on the pretext of baseless and concocted allegations of involvement in the Pahalgam incident."

Modi recently said India will "identify, track and punish every terrorist, their handlers and their backers," in a post on X. "We will pursue them to the ends of the earth," Modi added.

India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told Reuters that the country has mobilized its forces because retaliation is "something which is imminent now."

The Resistance Front (TRF), an extremist group linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organization based in Pakistan, claimed responsibility for the attack in Pahalgam. Lashkar-e-Taiba was responsible for the 2008 Mumbai attacks and is known to have links with the Pakistani military and a partnership with Pakistan’s Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Pakistan has denied any involvement in the attack.
Pakistan lies, as usual.
The attack, which killed 26 people and was the worst terrorist attack on India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, has increased tensions on the Indian subcontinent between two nuclear-armed powers.

"An Indian military response is likely reflecting the more muscular foreign policy of the Modi government as noted by its actions following previous terrorist attacks," Chietigj Bajpaee, senior research fellow for South Asia at Chatham House, told Fox News Digital.

Bajpaee noted that a surgical strike or airstrike is the most likely form of retaliation, and the response will likely take a calibrated approach to limit collateral damage and civilian casualties and to control the escalation ladder in order to keep the conflict below the nuclear threshold.

"However, this is easier said than done given the possibility of accidental escalation" and a "broader tit-for-tat military escalation cannot be ruled out," he warned.

Although there was limited outreach from Modi in the past, two rounds of escalation in 2016 and 2019 have soured relations.

Sadanand Dhume, senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, told Fox News Digital that Modi is facing pressure to mount a tough response.

"The Indian public is outraged by last week’s terrorist attack in Kashmir, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is under immense pressure to respond to the atrocity by striking Pakistan, which has long sponsored attacks on India," Dhume said.

Already India has suspended the landmark 1960 Indus Water Treaty, a key water-sharing agreement covering rivers that overlap both countries. Pakistan’s Minister of State for Law and Justice told Reuters that Islamabad plans on challenging India’s suspension of the treaty and is raising the issue with the World Bank.

Pakistan said the impediment to the free flow of water would constitute an act of war.

The rivalry between India and Pakistan dates back to the partition of the former British colony of India in 1947, with the establishment of Muslim-majority Pakistan and Hindu-majority India. The partition plan also provided the contested regions of Jammu and Kashmir with the opportunity to choose if they wanted to join either newly established nation. Kashmir ultimately decided to join India in exchange for help against invading Pakistani militias, with India and Pakistan fighting three wars over the territory since 1947.

India and Pakistan have an estimated combined 342 nuclear warheads, according to the Arms Control Association.

Tariff revenue could spell income tax relief for Americans: Treasury Sec
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Tuesday said that revenues from tariffs will be able to provide income tax relief and made a number of points addressing countries getting to better trade deals with the United States.

When asked what President Donald Trump
...So far he's been unkillable, and they've tried....
's plan was with the tariffs, to either increase tax revenues for the US or create better trade deals with other countries, Bessent said that the administration is aiming for both points.

"So we're going to take in long term tariff revenue. We put a process in place. We have 18 important trading relationships. We will be speaking to all of those partners, or at least 17 of them, over the next few weeks, many of them have already come to Washington. What President Trump is referring to is the ability for tariff revenue to give income tax relief.

"And I think there's a very good chance that we will see this in the upcoming tax bill. The President campaigned on no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security, no tax on overtime, and restoring interest deductibility for autos, for American made autos, so tariff income could be used for tax relief on all those immediately," Bessent added.

When asked if there was a "role for significant tariff revenue in US fiscal policy," Bessent answered that tariffs will be able to "bring back American manufacturing and generate substantial revenues" in the US.

#1  I got three different numbers researching how much the middle class pays in income taxes per year.

First it gave me a $500 Billion figure. Then a $1T and $1.5 Trillion figures. We'll go with $1.5 Trillion. We need $4 Billion a day in tariff revenues to successfully offset our contributions to income tax.

Totally do-able.

Trump administration revokes 4K visas for students with criminal records for assault, robbery: ‘Breaking the law with no consequences’
[NYPost] The Trump administration has revoked the visas of 4,000 foreign students in its first 100 days — the bulk of which have committed crimes in the US including arson, assault and robbery, The Post has learned.

More than 90% of the rogue students who saw their visas nixed had committed crimes such as arson, wildlife and human trafficking, child endangerment, domestic abuse, DUI and robbery, a senior State Department source told The Post Monday.

More than 500 of them had assault raps.

"They came and they were breaking the law with no consequences," said the source.

"We set up a special action team to handle this."

The State Department worked with the Department of Homeland Security, which tapped into their databases and compared that information with existing law enforcement records.

Officials only considered "serious" cases as part of the effort.

"There were cases like where it was not a serious thing, like littering, or somebody had charges that were dropped, where we didn’t revoke those. Because it should be a serious matter," said the source.

The thousands of students, most of whom hail from Asia and the Middle East, were swiftly notified that the State Department had stripped them of their status in the US.

Some have already departed on their own while others will soon be rounded up by immigration agents as part of Trump’s mass deportation agenda.

Major US city that's on volcano watch is rocked by near-5.0 magnitude earthquake
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck just miles from an Alaskan city already on alert for a possible volcanic eruption.

The Alaska Earthquake Center recorded the tremor near Hope at 12:03am local time (4:03am ET).

The epicenter was located some 33 miles south of Anchorage, where thousands of residents reported feeling light shaking.

Anchorage sits about 78 miles from Mount Spurr, which continues to show signs of unrest with elevated seismic activity and increased gas emissions.

'Felt it from 45 miles north of Anchorage—first heard the building creak, then came a solid shake followed by a slight rolling motion at the end,' one local shared online.

Residents across the region have been warned to 'stay alert for aftershocks and follow local emergency guidance.'

The 4.7 magnitude earthquake is the fifth quake measuring a 4.1 or greater in the South-Central region of Alaska in the last 11 days.

This region is located within a seismically active region known as the Alaska-Aleutian subduction system that is characterized by the Pacific plate subducting (sinking) beneath the North American plate, creating a major earthquake hazard.

China is exhibiting ‘end-of-regime conduct,' expert warns of ‘perplexing' behavior
[FoxNews] China’s political system has become ‘intransigent and inflexible,’ Gordon Chang says

Something is "very, very wrong" in Beijing right now, according to foreign policy expert Gordon Chang, who is signaling more "end-of-regime conduct" coming out of Xi Jinping’s China.

"At a time when China needs friends because it's not selling goods to the U.S., it is going out of its way to antagonize not just the Philippines, not just Taiwan, but also South Korea and Australia," Chang, a senior fellow with the Gatestone Institute, said on "Mornings with Maria" Monday.

"This shows that... this is end-of-regime conduct, because Xi Jinping, he can't appear to be giving in to the U.S.," he added.

On Friday, President Donald Trump told reporters from the White House lawn that he’s spoken to Jinping "many times" now, before responding to a question about what exactly the two leaders discussed: "I’ll let you know at the appropriate time. Let's see if we can make a deal."

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Friday that Beijing backs international rules when it comes to tariffs imposed by Trump and that the U.S. levies show "extreme egoism." He explained that China would look for solidarity with other countries regarding the tariffs, noting that Beijing would uphold multilateralism to "inject stability into the world."

Beijing has publicly denied any ongoing negotiations with the Trump administration to bring down America’s 145% tariff and China’s 125% tariff.

"[Jinping] has configured the Chinese political system so that it is hostile. And also, because he's been making the claim that China has surpassed the U.S., he can't look dependent on trade with the U.S.," Chang explained. "And he certainly can't look like he's talking to the U.S. under pressure."

#1  Youtube "Empty Chinese Cities" - something is way off over there. I heard that Red China was over reliant on homes sales (one home per person) as a metric for measuring their demographic unrealizing people were creating fake paperwork to buy homes. Then when covid hit, the deaths per proportion to society were much greater than on paper leaving China with a whole lot less people than they thought. IDK the truth, but empty cities and villages are eerie - that's a fact, and there's lots of video of them mostly empty. Anyways..

I'm hearing that Hardline Commies are maneuvering against Xi and putting him on defense to protect his circle of power and influence.

I also heard an interesting fact that less than 1000 Party Members control China's manufacturing and export base.

#2  I'm reading reports from folks who do population counts all over the world. They are saying that, based on multiple known data factors within China, the current Chinese population might only be 900M (or even less) instead of the 1.4B the CCP publishes.
Number caskets and burial plots purchased over the last 5 years, number of active cellphones, rapid decline in personal taxes received, etc.
They lost a lot more folks during covid than they're letting on, young people aren't having children AND the one-child policies really bit them hard.

#4  I think a lot of the thinking about large scale deaths from covid in China are probably misinformed; remember, a lot of the deaths in the US were self inflicted: remdesivir, rationing of antibiotics, and secondary infections probably accounted for more than half the deaths attributed to covid here.

All China had to do to not get a lot of deaths was treat it like viral pneumonia was treated in the west in 2018.

Facebook blocks Charles Town, WV city council candidate's page with no further appeal
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Courtney Knill is running for city council in Charles Town, WV, but you wouldn't know that from her Facebook page, which has been locked. The candidate for Ward 3 told The Post Millennial that she woke up late last week to discover that her Facebook page was disabled. A message told her that she was in violation of community guidelines and she was accused of impersonating herself.

She was given the opportunity to appeal, and she went through that process. "All they had me do was record a video of myself where they had me point my face in a different direction, basically just showing that you are who you say they are," she said.

"They reviewed it, and then just today I got the notice: We disabled your account... reviewed your account. It still doesn't follow our community standards on account integrity. You cannot request another review of this decision, and you can download your information if you want. And that's it," she said, "done. Campaign Facebook page shut down." Fifth Column
Activist at Michigan Gaza fundraiser calls for end of America

[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] The Middle East Media Research Institute shared a video of a man in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, talking about how the United States must be destroyed. The bearded man, wearing a keffiyeh, walks along the street with a white woman, also keffiyeh clad, who looks on dumbly as he calls for the death of the nation.

"The message for the people of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
," he said, heavily accenting Gaza but otherwise speaking in a clear American accent, "is going to be more of the message that should be sent to the people here, in that they have achieved victory. We haven't done anywhere near enough. And the people here—I promise you—we do feel ashamed. We do feel like we're not doing enough. We do feel like change needs to come, because change must come."

"And in the form that it must come is that this empire, the American empire, that's been hurting our people since the beginning, the imperial western powers that have been hurting our people since the beginning, they must fall."

"And inshallah, inshallah, they will fall. And my message to people of Gaza and oppressed people across the world is that there are people here, both young and old, who are going to be willing to fight and are willing to put their lives and everything they can on the line to bring these empires down. Because they must come down."

The video was taken at a Dearborn Heights Fundraiser for the Middle East Children's Alliance on March 19, 2025. The fundraiser was for the "Gaza Emergency." The group writes "During 18 months of brutal attacks on Gaza, MECA team and partners are providing emergency assistance to children and families to help them survive."

California bill to bar trans-identified male sex offenders from women's prisons heads to committee
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Women's rights groups are hoping that after Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
blocked two bills to restore sex-separated sports in schools, they might be persuaded to at least prohibit trans-identified male prisoners who have committed sex offenses from preying on incarcerated women. Republican state Senator Shannon Grove, known for her steadfast protections for women, authored Senate Bill 311, the ''Incarcerated Women's Protection Act,'' that is set for a committee hearing on Tuesday, April 29. The bill seeks to prevent male sex offenders from being transferred to women's prisons, a practice that has led to state-enabled abuse, sexual violence, and institutional betrayal.

This bill takes direct aim at Senator Scott Wiener's controversial 2021 "Transgender Respect, Agency and Dignity Act" law (SB132) that has been flooding female prisons with male inmates. Sen. Wiener sits on the committee that will decide whether to kill the bill or let it move forward. Wiener has stood solidly with the transgender community even, or especially when that stance is harmful to females. Wiener recently lashed out at Governor Gavin Governor Hair Gel Newsom
...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland...
for stating that allowing transgender athletes to compete in women's sports is "deeply unfair," saying that the governor's stance is "profoundly disturbing" and standing with ''a vile bigot" a reference to Charlie Kirk who raised the issue on Newsom's failing podcast.

Any male prisoner can simply claim a transgender identity and can apply for a transfer request, moving them to women's quarters, regardless of their rap sheet or anatomy. Latest prison statistics reveal a shocking 45 trans-identifying males already housed with women, another 206 transfers pending, and with 871 requests awaiting processing. Even the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation recognizes that there is no shortage of men who find themselves looking at prison time who suddenly adopt a transgender identity. The floodgates are wide open under current rules, with zero restrictions on which ''trans-identified males'' get access to females. A 2022 public records request revealed that one in three male inmates seeking transfer to a women's facility is a registered sex offender.

Tom Homan reveals Biden admin's termination of DNA testing program for illegal immigrant families increased child trafficking
Tom Homan revealed during a press briefing on Monday something that many had already forgotten. The Biden administration ended a program from Trump's first administration to DNA test children and families at border crossings.

That cancellation facilitated the trafficking of children, as there was no way to verify that they were with a trusted parent or relative. Critics said at the time that this was dangerous, but />Biden's team ended it anyway, with advocates saying it was unethical to do the testing.

"Family residential centers are for families," Homan said in response to questions about family separation. "They're not jails, they're open-air campers built for families, which means they have child psychologists, they have pediatricians. And why family residential centers? Because we want to make sure that child is with a parent.

UPS cutting 20K jobs due to fewer Amazon shipments
[FoxBusinessNews] UPS and Amazon reached a deal earlier this year to reduce Amazon's volume of UPS shipments

United Parcel Service (UPS) said Tuesday that it will cut about 20,000 jobs and shutter 73 of its facilities as the logistics giant cuts costs amid a move to reduce shipping volumes from its largest customer, Amazon, and broader economic uncertainty.

The move, which amounts to a cut of about 4% of the company's workforce, makes UPS the first big American company to move forward with large-scale layoffs in the face of slowing trade due to the Trump administration's tariffs.

A slowdown in global trade is likely to reduce the need for shipping services between companies, potentially hurting parcel delivery firms.

"The world has not been faced with such enormous potential impacts to trade in more than 100 years," CEO Carol Tome said during the company's earnings call.

It also comes after UPS announced in January that it reached an agreement with its largest customer, Amazon, to cut its volume by 50% by the second half of 2026. Amazon accounted for 11.8% of UPS' overall revenue in 2024.

"The actions we are taking to reconfigure our network and reduce cost across our business could not be timelier," Tome said.

Last year, UPS said it would cut its workforce by 12,000 jobs, and added that it expects expenses of between $400 million and $600 million related to separation benefits and lease-related cuts in 2025.

UPS also faces a sharp downturn in volume from China-linked bargain e-commerce sellers Temu and Shein after the U.S. moved to collect tariffs on goods that were previously duty-free under a threshold of $800 per individual sale.

To help keep its customers updated about tariffs and trade policy changes, UPS launched a website that tracks various developments in negotiations as well as offers the ability to connect with experts and explore options to manage tariff costs.

UPS is also offering a new UPS Global Checkout service that shows the cost of customs fees and duties on international purchases at checkout.

#7  Amazon has been working towards this for some years now. In addition to "last mile" facilities they have some fairly sketchy drivers making local deliveries in personal vehicles.

At one point they were buying UPS trucks and repainting them in Amazon colors, but those seem to have been replaced by electric vehicles.

The drones will be more widely used as soon as they can convince the FAA and local authorities to okay them.

#8  It seems like every time I go into a store and try to find something a sales clerk tells me I have to order it online. Well, that means I have to wait for it sometimes for weeks and also that I will have to pay for shipping. Wouldn't it be nice if there were stores where you could actually find stuff, buy it right then and there and take it home?

Dems embrace 'Dark Woke' in attempt to push back against Trump
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] It seems that the Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat.

About fighters from the DPRK in the Kursk region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Telegram channel of avcgroup

[ColonelCassad] Opinion from the Kursk direction on the participation of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk operation of the Russian Armed Forces.

About fighters from the DPRK

After the President and the Chief of General Staff officially acknowledged the participation of the KPA SSN in the CTO in the Kursk region, we will make our contribution: Yes, we knew, yes, there were nuances in the interaction, but we did not advertise it to the entire district, while the package openers with foam at the mouth proved the opposite, playing into the hands of the enemy, because everything has its time.

The Korean fighters had two features: high physical training and high marksmanship training. It is no secret that the North Koreans, due to the peculiarities of life in their country, are physically developed and accustomed to living in harsh conditions, which cannot be said about their southern counterparts. As for marksmanship training, in the KPA a huge amount of time is devoted to it and for almost any private Kim, the "Kalash" is almost native. So, the Korean comrades, having understood what was going on, began to shoot down almost all the drones in the area - both the Ukrainian Armed Forces and, let's face it, ours were also getting it. At one point, the guys even tried to change their flight routes in order not to fall under the watchful eye of the Korean soldier, because the number of drones shot down had already begun to go off the scale.

As for the participation of the KPA SSN fighters in the attacks - no one immediately sent them to assault work. At first, the guys sat on the third line, delved into the situation, then, having gotten used to what was happening, began to pull up to the supplies and fortifications. And only after that, the Korean comrades asked for assault work - by trial and error, they determined the tactics of action taking into account what was happening "on the ground". Yes, the acquired skills of the KPA turned out to be not quite in demand in the conditions of the counter-terrorist operation in the Kursk region, but the Korean friends quickly reorganized and managed to carry out a number of operations, inflicting good damage on the Ukrainian terrorists.

To sum it up, we can say the following: The guys from the Korean special forces are certainly heroes who decided to support the Russian army in the fight against the Ukrainian Nazis in the Kursk region. With their fortitude, bravery and dedication, high level of training and ruthlessness towards the enemy, the KPA SSN wrote their name into military history, gained invaluable combat experience, which will certainly be useful in training the DPRK army, taking into account the changed nature of military operations in general. We thank the Korean people and personally comrade Kim Jong-un for the assistance provided. Our cause is just, the enemy will be defeated, victory will be ours!

P.S. In Pyongyang, they announced that a memorial dedicated to the heroes of the battles in the Kursk region will be opened there.

We should open one here too. In Moscow, Kursk or Sudzha. Well, and open a Kim Jong-un Street somewhere.

Another shootout occurred on the border between India and Pakistan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A shootout occurred between Indian and Pakistani troops along the international border in Jammu in the Pargwal sector of Jammu and Kashmir. This was reported on April 29 by India Today.

According to the publication, Pakistan violated the ceasefire for the sixth time, which led to a "harsh response" from the Indian army.

"Pakistan has been violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control for five days in a row, escalating tensions between the adversaries," the article explains.

It is noted that the army personnel opened fire for the first time in this region after the Pahalgam terror attack. Earlier, exchanges of fire between the Indian and Pakistani armies were observed in the Tutmari Gali, Rampur, Uri, Gurez and Sunderbani sectors.

Earlier, Regnum news agency reported that Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif called on the Indian authorities to respond to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's proposal to create an independent commission to investigate the terrorist attack in Kashmir.

The politician noted that the investigation team that will identify those responsible for the terrorist attack in Kashmir could be created by third countries, such as Russia, China or Western countries, and thus resolve the crisis that has arisen between Pakistan and India.

Putin says world needs new security architecture
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The world community must direct its efforts to creating a new architecture of equal and indivisible security. This was stated on April 29 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary session of the international forum "Great Heritage - Common Future" in Volgograd.

“The world community needs to work together to create a new architecture of equal and indivisible security that would reliably protect all states without harming the interests of others,” the Russian leader noted.

According to Putin, this is especially relevant today for the countries of Eurasia, which must create a space on the common continent where peace and stability prevail, making it an example of sustainable economic, social and humanitarian development.

The Russian President expressed the opinion that the already adopted multilateral forms of cooperation could form the basis for the formation of such an architecture. Putin cited the Union State, the CSTO, the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, ASEAN as examples, and also recalled the existence of other influential structures.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on Tuesday Putin arrived in Volgograd, where he met with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.

Speaking at the forum about the hero city of Stalingrad, the Russian president pointed out that during the Great Patriotic War the fate of the future of all mankind was decided here. The Russian leader emphasized that it was during the Battle of Stalingrad that a radical turning point occurred in the war against Nazism, which resulted in the defeat of the fascist troops on the banks of the Volga.

Putin added that both Russia and Belarus will always remember how, during the Great Patriotic War, the peoples together defended their homeland and, at the cost of enormous sacrifices, brought peace to Europe.

Putin called Stalingrad the place where the fate of the entire world was decided
I would argue that Operation Watchtower more was where the fate of the world was decided, but then I'm prejudiced.
Stalingrad during the Great Patriotic War became the place where the fate of the entire world was decided. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 29 at the international forum of the Union State "Great Heritage - Common Future".

Opening the event, the Russian President called Volgograd a sacred land for all the peoples of Russia and for all the peoples of the former Soviet Union.

“It is symbolic that the forum is taking place in a hero city where the fate of the entire world was decided,” Putin said.

During the Battle of Stalingrad, a radical turning point occurred in the war with Nazi Germany. The enemy was stopped and defeated on the banks of the Volga, the head of state recalled.

"A decisive blow was dealt to the Nazi war machine. A radical turning point in the war was ensured, the road to the West, to Berlin, to the great Victory, the 80th anniversary of which we will solemnly celebrate very soon - on May 9," he noted.

Putin called Victory Day a holy holiday for Russia and the CIS countries
There can be no doubt.
Victory Day is a sacred holiday for Russia and other post-Soviet countries. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 29.

"In Russia, as in many republics of the former Soviet Union, Victory Day is one of the most significant and sacred holidays. During the war, our peoples together went through the most difficult trials, defended their independence and future," he emphasized.

The head of state also added that the victory over Nazism is the common heritage of Russia and the CIS countries, which is why Moscow is expecting the leaders of a number of states to attend the ceremonial events on May 9.

FSB publishes documents on execution of Roma by Nazis in Donbass
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

For their relatively small numbers, the Romas had tremendous cultural influence over Transcaucusus peoples, and around the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.

[Regnum] During the Great Patriotic War, punitive forces from among the Nazi troops and their accomplices shot 36 Roma near the village of Novo-Bakhmetyevo in Donbass. This follows from the archives published on April 29 by the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Donetsk People's Republic on the case of collaborator Alexander Dinkel, convicted by a USSR court.

FSB publishes documents on execution of gypsies by Nazis in Donbass in 1941
During interrogation, Dinkel confessed that in the autumn of 1941, in the village of Novo-Bakhmetyevo, he showed the Nazi intelligence service the houses of the Gypsies that were in the deserted village. After that, the punitive forces took the people out of their houses to the outskirts of the settlement and shot them; in total, the Germans killed 36 citizens of the USSR of Gypsy nationality.

"After the shooting, the Germans went around and finished off those who were still alive <…>. Let me explain that I did not bury the shot gypsies immediately after the shooting, but the next day. I dug a big hole, dragged the corpses there and covered them with earth," the collaborator told investigators.

He admitted that he personally killed one of the gypsies with "two or three blows" of a scythe. The regional UFSB also declassified unique footage that was filmed at the time by a KGB operator for Donetsk Oblast. It shows a reconstruction of the events of 1941 and Dinkel shows the place where the gypsies were shot.
German Nazis would not have had as much success in their murderous campaign but for local help.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on April 14, the FSB published archival documents with testimony from witnesses about the death in Feodosia of the pioneer hero Vitya Korobkov and his father Mikhail Korobkov, who were captured by the German Nazis in 1944. The boy and his father were members of a partisan detachment.

FSB reveals documents on Nazi medical experiments on Crimeans

Nazi doctors conducted medical experiments on Soviet prisoners of war and civilians during the occupation of Crimea. This follows from a corresponding declassified document published by the press service of the FSB Directorate for Crimea and Sevastopol.

It says that the Nazis conducted such experiments in occupied Simferopol.

“The document is a special message from the head of the SMERSH counterintelligence department of the 51st Army, Colonel A. T. Nikiforov, which he sent on April 24, 1944, <…> “about some experiments on corpses and experiments on Russian prisoners of war and civilians being conducted by German doctors in the strictest secrecy,” the message says.

Information obtained as a result of intelligence and operational work indicates that experiments on Soviet prisoners of war were carried out by German military doctors Gottfried Künter and Oskar Schulz. As Ivan Galkin, a former employee of the 1st Soviet Hospital of Simferopol, notes in his testimony, they removed internal organs (especially kidneys) and tested the drug tropacocacine on Soviet soldiers. Testing the latter provoked limb atrophy in people, which lasted up to 20 days.

All experiments were kept in strict secrecy; only German doctors were allowed to perform operations.

Ivan Galkin also said that the fascists kept experimental prisoners and peaceful Crimeans in the hospital basement. There, German doctors forcibly extracted 800 cubic centimeters of blood from Soviet people to donate to wounded German soldiers and officers.

26 killed in Nigeria as truck drove over explosive device
[LEMONDE.FR] At least 26 people were killed on Monday, April 28, when a truck drove over a roadside kaboom in northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
near the border with Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, a military source and a local resident told AFP. The attack happened in Borno state which has been a hotbed of the Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
jihadist uprising in Nigeria. More than 40,000 people have died there in the past 15 years of conflict.

"Twenty-six people died in the blast, comprising 16 men, four women and six children," said a military officer speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
because he was not authorized to talk about the incident. Three passengers were severely injured, said the officer. "I took part in the funeral of the 26 people killed in the earth-shattering kaboom, most of them were burnt beyond recognition," Akram Saad, a resident of the nearby town Rann, said. A medic at the Rann general hospital said 26 bodies were taken to the hospital, most of them "unrecognizable" from the earth-shattering kaboom.

Boko Haram and rival Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
West Africa Province (ISWAP) launch sporadic ambushes on convoys and plant landmines along highways in northern Borno. It was not clear which jihadist group was behind the mine blast although ISWAP is active in the area.

Lawmaker introduces resolution to move USDA to central Illinois
[THECENTERSQUARE] An Illinois state politician is pushing to move the United States Department of Agriculture out of Washington D.C., and into the heart of farm country.

State Rep. Regan Deering, R-Decatur, has introduced House Resolution 177 urging President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
and the U.S. Congress to begin the process of relocating the USDA from Washington, D.C., to central Illinois.

Deering emphasized that crops don't grow in a swamp, they grow in the fertile plains of central Illinois. She added that it's time the government relocated the USDA to a place where people are focused on planting crops, not just pushing paper.

''Bloomington and Decatur are home to major agribusiness giants like Archer-Daniels-Midland, Gromiant, Gromark and nearby universities such as [Illinois State University] and [University of Illinois]. These areas are hubs for agricultural innovation and some of the best producers in the country,'' said Deering.

Deering is the granddaughter of Dwayne Andreas, who helped build ADM into an agribusiness giant.

According to Deering, the Strategic Withdrawal of Agencies for Meaningful Placement (SWAMP) Act, originally introduced in Congress, aims to move agencies out of the bureaucracy of Washington, D.C., and into ''the heartland, closer to the people they impact the most.''

Good. The ones who don’t like hanging out with, and caring for farmers should not be working for the Department of Agriculture. Better for themselves and the country when they take their huge brains and apply them in more congenial surroundings.

At least three killed in clash between soldiers and Druze militants in Damascus
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] At least three people were killed and eight others maimed in violent mostly peaceful festivities that broke out early Tuesday in the city of Jaramana, located in the Damascus countryside. The fighting erupted between armed residents from Eastern Ghouta and Druze button men.

Videos circulated on social media captured scenes of intense exchanges of fire using light and medium weapons, with heavy gunfire clearly audible.

According to Syrian sources, large military reinforcements were deployed to Jaramana and engaged in confrontations with Druze button men on the city's outskirts, particularly near the al-Naseem checkpoint.

SECTARIAN TENSIONS SPARK VIOLENCE
The outbreak of violence followed heightened sectarian tensions triggered by the circulation of an audio recording attributed to a Druze religious figure, which allegedly contained derogatory remarks about Prophet Mohammad (PTUI!).

The situation escalated further following earlier student festivities in Homs between individuals from Sweida and other areas. In response, security forces arrested two students from Sweida, deepening the community's sense of grievance.

Amid the mounting tensions, the Druze-affiliated Syrian Brigade Party declared a state of general mobilization among its members, urging readiness to protect civilian and residential areas in Sweida province. The party blamed the ''Ahmad al-Sharaa government'' for remaining silent in the face of threats and suspicious activities observed around Jaramana in recent hours.

The spiritual authority of the Druze Moslem community in Jaramana issued a statement condemning the offensive remarks attributed to the audio clip, describing it as a fabricated attempt to incite strife and division.

The statement rejected the armed attack targeting Jaramana, noting that most of the casualties were members of the General Security Directorate, all of whom were residents of the city.

The Druze religious leadership stressed that ''protecting the lives, dignity, and property of citizens is the bare minimum duty of the state and its security apparatus.'' It also called on official authorities to publicly clarify the details of the incident.
Rudaw adds:
At least four Druze fighters were killed overnight in clashes with Syrian government forces in a Damascus suburb, a war monitor reported on Tuesday, after an audio recording insulting Islam sparked widespread anger.

“Fierce clashes with light and medium weapons erupted in Jaramana” between local Druze fighters and government-affiliated forces after “the circulation of a voice recording of a person from the Druze community stirring up sectarian strife,” said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based war monitor.

Four Druze fighters were killed and six others were injured in the fighting, and a Syrian army soldier also sustained injuries, according to the monitor.

The voice recording prompted mass anger in Syria, leading to protests, clashes, and elements of society in regions such as Hama calling for the extermination of the Druze community.

Syria’s interior ministry said it is investigating the “audio recording circulating on social media containing grave insults to the Prophet Mohammed.”

In a statement, the ministry thanked citizens for “defending” Prophet Mohammed but also emphasized “the importance of adhering to public order and refraining from engaging in any individual or collective actions that could disturb public security or infringe upon lives and property.”

Located on the outskirts of Damascus, the majority Druze and Christian suburb of Jaramana was the site of deadly clashes in late February between local gunmen and security forces affiliated with the Syrian government following a fatal shooting at a checkpoint.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) led the rebel coalition that toppled Bashar al-Assad’s regime in early December. Its then leader and now Syria’s interim President, Ahmad al-Sharaa, has repeatedly pledged to protect the rights of all Syrians. In December, the rebel coalition, including the HTS, agreed to merge into the Syrian defense ministry.

The international community has expressed concern that the new Islamist authorities in Damascus may impose strict Islamic rule in Syria, threatening the country’s minority groups, such as Kurds, Druze, Christians, and Alawites.

Following the February clashes, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Damascus to “not harm the Druze,” and stressed that Syrian authorities would “suffer the consequences” if they harmed the community.

Syria’s Druze, Christian, and Kurdish communities have expressed deep mistrust toward Damascus and rejected the interim constitution.
And from the Times of Israel:
The death toll in clashes that took place on the outskirts of the Syrian capital of Damascus last night and this morning has risen to 13, according to local rescue workers.

The clashes began overnight when gunmen from the nearby town of Maliha and other predominantly Sunni areas converged on the mostly Druze town of Jaramana, southeast of Damascus, security sources say.

Among the dead are two members of Syria’s General Security Service, a new security force composed mostly of former rebels, according to the interior ministry spokesperson, Mustafa al-

16.01 In order to implement the political interests of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the Kremlin has identified new representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church responsible for promoting the ideas of the “Russian world” in Ukraine.

The list includes:

• Metropolitan Varsonofy (Anatoly Sudakov) – head of the St. Petersburg Metropolitanate, closely connected with the Russian security forces. Actively participates in the implementation of propaganda activities under the guise of church activities.

Pilot Denfix, who has destroyed more than two dozen cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, noted that it is easier to detect and destroy drones in light.

"Therefore, unlike night combat work, I could clearly see the target in the sight. After the explosion, I was happy that I was doing a good deed and that I was able to see with my own eyes a destroyed enemy drone that did not reach its target and did not destroy anything on our home soil," the pilot said.

12.37 A forced evacuation of parents with children has been announced from several settlements of the Mezhevskaya community of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Families with children must leave the villages of Kolonna Mezhova, Novopodgorodnoye, Raipole, Sukhareva Balka.

10.20 The Security Service counterintelligence detained a Russian agent in Mykolaiv region – a 57-year-old employee of one of the departments of the Pervomaysky City Council, who was spying on the military. The woman was detained when she was at a meeting with her superiors and colleagues.

09:15 At night, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 100 attack UAVs and other types of drone imitators. 37 drones were destroyed, another 47 did not reach their target. The Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions suffered as a result of the Russian attack.

08.57 Russian troops attacked Kiev and the region at night with 11 Shahed-type attack drones. Of these, nine were destroyed by air defense systems, and two were lost to radar.

Critical infrastructure facilities were not affected. However, within Kyiv, as a result of the fall of debris from one of the downed drones, a fire was recorded on the territory of a recreation center in the Desnyansky district. There is destruction and damage to buildings and cars. Three people sought medical assistance.

08.35 As a result of a Russian drone attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a 12-year-old girl was killed in the Gubinis community of the Samarovsky district. A six-year-old girl and two adults were injured.

The girl was pulled out from under the rubble of her own home. They tried to save the child, but he died on the way to the hospital.

08.10 Over the past 24 hours, 178 armed clashes were recorded at the front. In particular, the Russians attacked the Pokrovsk direction 59 times, and 15 armed clashes occurred in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

Aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces destroyed 16 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, one air defense system and two artillery systems of the enemy.

07.35 As of April 29, 2025, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine amounted to approximately 950,860 people (+1060 per day).

04.10 Vice President of the United States of America J.D. Vance believes that Ukraine will not be able to win a war with the Russian Federation. He said that the country will not win if hostilities continue in the coming years. At the same time, Vance suggests that in such a case, a scenario of nuclear escalation by the Russian Federation is quite possible.

02.20 On the night of Tuesday, April 29, Russian military launched kamikaze drones in the direction of Ukraine. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that as a result of falling debris in the Desnyansky district, a three-story recreation center building burned down. One woman was injured, and doctors provided assistance to her on the spot.

01.14 French President Emmanuel Macron said that international pressure on Russia would be increased over the next eight to ten days to achieve a ceasefire in the war against Ukraine.

"In the next 8-10 days, we plan to increase pressure on Russia. I remain cautious because part of this equation depends on Moscow. We need to act as one," he said.

00.34 US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that negotiations to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian "conflict" are in full swing.

"The negotiations around the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict are in full swing... Sometimes you have to apply pressure, sometimes you have to be more friendly, sometimes you have to promise rewards, and sometimes you have to promise punishment, because "it's dirty, routine work, but it's the work that the American people elected the Trump administration to do," said J.D. Vance.

Al-Shabaab militants kill quarry workers in Kenya
[Garowe] At least five quarry workers were killed by the suspected al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
forces of Evil in Mandera, Kenya, officials said Tuesday, in the latest incident, which comes a fortnight after the forces of Evil released five local administrators who had been kidnapped.

Tuesday's raid at a quarry in Bur Abor village near the Kenya-Somalia border in Mandera East targeted quarry workers, who had been mining in the area. Those killed are non-locals who work within the area as casual laborers, officials said.

The incident took place at around 7 am East African Time when the armed fighters killed the innocent civilians. Although the group is yet to take responsibility, officials maintain that their operations resemble al-Shabaab's tactical operations.

"This is a deeply troubling event," said Mohammed Abdiaziz Roble, the village administrator of Bur Abor. "The identities of the victims are being confirmed, and efforts are underway to notify their families."

Previously, the forces of Evil have targeted non-locals, and at some point, the strategy forced a mass exodus of teachers and doctors working within the northeastern region. The government facilitated the exit as it sorted out security problems.

Roble said the village administration is working closely with local law enforcement to enhance safety and urged residents to report any suspicious activities. The attack comes three months after President William Ruto's visit.

"We are doing everything we can to ensure that justice is served and that our community is protected," he added.

Authorities have since heightened security across Mandera East and surrounding areas as investigations continue. In recent weeks, the forces of Evil had reduced attacks in Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa due to the high presence of security personnel.

The al-Shabaab forces of Evil are fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia. Kenya is among the countries that have contributed troops to the Horn of Africa nations, besides tightening security protocols within its borders.

Fifth Column
L.A. Drops Charges for Hamas Rioters, Charges 2 Jews Instead
[PJMedia] Los Angeles will not be criminally charging 300 pro-Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
UCLA and USC campus rioters, but the city will be criminally charging two Jews who had the temerity to fight back against the genocidal neo-Nazi
...adherents of a philosophy that was seen even at the time as pure evil, which makes them either consciously purely evil, or attention-seeking ratbags. Pick one, or both....
s. Adolf Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days, sometimes every few hour if it's an election year, as a politician somebody doesn't like...
would be so proud.

In Los Angeles, apparently, there’s absolutely no issue with calling for the genocide of Jews, attacking Jews, or enthusiastically cheering on murderous Islamic terrorists. But it is a problem if you as a Jew try to defend yourself and give the jihad-lovers a taste of their own medicine. It is deeply disturbing that such a situation could be happening in America and that Democrat politicians, leftist universities, and woke media are normalizing and even praising violent mostly peaceful Jew-hatred.

Hopefully the Trump administration will be investigating what appears to be a serious civil rights violation, and what is certainly a political and institutional seal of approval on violent mostly peaceful antisemitism. This is not justice, this is partisan weaponization of justice.

Only three of the pro-Hamas rioters are being referred for informal prosecutorial proceedings. "After careful consideration, we are filing criminal charges against two individuals and sending three others to City Attorney Hearings," blathered Hydee Feldstein Soto, Los Angeles city attorney, according to Daniel Greenfield at JihadWatch. "I want to thank the attorneys in my Criminal Branch for their dedication to the rule of law and their commitment to objectively evaluating the evidence and referrals received on each of these matters." Apparently attacking Jews purely for their religion is part of the rule of law. Who knew?

"The only two people charged are the Jewish targets of the pro-Hamas mobs," Greenfield emphasized. Don’t they know they’re just supposed to be doormats for terrorist-loving radicals?!?!

The vast majority of pro-Hamas perpetrators have their cases dropped.

[Hamas-linked] CAIR is cheering the move which should tell you everything.

Three, including a fellow named ’Ali Abuamouneh’ are being routed to ’diversion’ hearings. Only Edan On and Matthew Katz, Jewish community members who fought back against the Hamas mobs, are being charged...

Giving nearly every pro-Hamas arrestee a pass and charging only Jewish community members demonstrates many things, systemic prejudice, a weaponized justice system and bandidos bully boyz protecting their own... the one thing it does not demonstrate is "objectivity" and "dedication to the rule of law".

But leftists and Islamists led a campaign to intimidate Hydee Feldstein Soto and they got their way.

Ironically, Soto told Ballotpedia she had "zero tolerance for hate crimes." Except when they’re committed against her fellow Jews, apparently.

Greenfield also argues for the necessity of a Justice Department investigation into this shocking subversion of justice, with potential pardons for Katz and On.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Invested the treasury in hotels. Investments in Antalya did not save the Syrian militant
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Tsukanov

[REGNUM] Recently, Issama Buidani, the leader of the Syrian group Jaysh al-Islam,
…in Rantburg’s archives spelt Jaish al Islam, which used to be known as Liwa al-Islam
was arrested in the United Arab Emirates. The militant did not expect such a turn of events.

By the time of his arrest, the field commander had already retired and was trying to start a new life as a Turkish citizen and philanthropist. However, the change of name and citizenship did not save him from falling under the surveillance of French law enforcement.

CHANGE OF OWNER
For much of the time since its formation in 2013, Jaysh al-Islam has been under the secret "care" of Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh invested heavily in arming and training the militants and even hired dozens of Pakistani instructors to teach them mine-making and ammunition manufacturing.

Thanks to Saudi aid, the rebels were able to acquire several tanks and heavy artillery, as well as dozens of upgraded sniper rifles.

The well-equipped group not only served as the spearhead of resistance against government forces, but was also used to contain proxy groups sponsored by Turkey.

However, Saudi support ended after the 2017 ouster of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, whose people had been directing operations in Syria through the National Council for Political and Security Affairs.

His successor, Mohammed bin Salman, chose to distance himself from dubious groups and placed his bets on supporting the legitimate government.

Left without an external sponsor – and furthermore pressed by government forces – supporters of Jaysh al-Islam began a gradual drift towards Turkey and Qatar and by 2018 were positioning themselves as members of a united “pro-Turkish front.”

True, relations with yesterday's rivals (and now allies) remained strained. Jaysh al-Islam was unable to establish contact with most of the forces of the pro-Turkish proxy network, and also entered into conflict with one of its "poles" - the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* (HTS*) group.

There were constant clashes between them until the offensive on Damascus began in 2024.

FEATURED IN THE REPORTS
With the establishment of a transitional government led by former HTS leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, Jaysh al-Islam found itself out of work.

Its representatives did not get into high offices, but found themselves under the close attention of the "new security forces." Especially after the wave of ethnic and religious cleansing and pogroms that swept across the country in the first months after the change of power.

And although many of al-Sharaa’s former allies “distinguished themselves” in this direction, it was representatives of Jaysh al-Islam who appeared in reports on major Western television channels.

In addition, by that time the group already had a trail of mass murders and reprisals against foreign (mainly French) citizens, which made it a target of interest for the EU intelligence services.

In light of this, most of the group's functionaries preferred to lie low, so as not to fall into the hands of Interpol and not to become a bargaining chip in the struggle for spheres of influence in the new Syria.

IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO EXPEL
One of the leaders of Jaysh al-Islam, Issam Buydani, suddenly showed up in Turkey some time ago, already under the name Issam Beydatiuglu. With local citizenship and the status of a philanthropist.

According to Turkish publications, the former jihadist received his passport for investments in local resorts, spending at least 400 thousand dollars on these purposes.

A number of observers believe that Buidani, in one way or another, “poured” part of the “treasury” of “Jaysh al-Islam,” which amounted to tens of millions of dollars, into the country’s economy.

The news of the appearance of such a peculiar benefactor caused indignation among a part of Turkish society.

Turhan Çomez, a representative of the opposition Good Party of Balikesire, said that flirting with terrorists will not lead to anything good, and their investments only damage Turkey's image.

Some of Chomez's supporters went even further and launched an information campaign against Buidani on social media.

In their publications, they accused him of committing serious crimes in his homeland and called him a “field philanthropist,” hinting at his rebel past and the not entirely legal origin of the money he invested.

However, the opposition's information campaign had zero effect in practice. Buidani was not stripped of his Turkish citizenship and remained free.

Even a request to Interpol initiated by France did not help: Turkish security officials considered their colleagues’ arguments about Budayni’s participation in mass murders and extrajudicial executions in Syria “insufficiently substantiated” and dragged out a bureaucratic game that was expected to take more than one month.

THE FRENCH CONNECTION
However, Buidani was unable to escape justice - a few days after the uproar, he moved to the UAE, where he was detained by Dubai authorities at the request of France.

The Emirates' decision to detain Bouydani and hand him over to the French was part of a larger law enforcement effort.

Paris is preparing for a major trial aimed at investigating war crimes during the Syrian civil war, while trying to identify and arrest every dubious warlord it can get its hands on.

And the leadership of Jaysh al-Islam, whose hands were stained with the blood of citizens of the Fifth Republic, was among the first to come under attack.

Just a day after Buidani’s arrest, Islam Alloush, who occupied a fairly high position in the group’s hierarchy in the mid-2010s, was arrested in Marseille, France.

New arrests of yesterday's jihadists on the territory of third countries cannot be ruled out.

Official Damascus did not comment on the detention of the leader of Jaysh al-Islam, but it is highly likely that it assessed it positively. The UAE essentially freed the transitional government from the need to deal with its long-standing enemy on its own.

The ordinary militants remaining in Syria after the arrest of the “heavyweights” Buidani and Alloush are unlikely to decide to flee abroad (so as not to attract unnecessary attention from French law enforcement), which means they will be ready to fulfill any demands of the new authorities - if only they do not extradite them.

Türkiye also did not object, achieving several goals thanks to the arrest of the leader of Jaysh al-Islam.

On the one hand, it formally fulfilled its obligations to the field commander by granting him citizenship of the country, and on the other hand, it got rid of a dubious partner with the help of others.

Guarantees of Buidani's future freedom were probably not included in the deal.

Bangladesh
The Growing Threat of Radical Islam in Bangladesh
[PJMedia] Bangladesh’s political landscape was founded on secular principles under the leadership of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a leader who envisioned a nation where religious neutrality would be upheld. Yet, this landscape has shifted significantly after Bangladeshi Prime Minister the loathesome Sheikh Hasina
...Bangla dynastic politician and now exiled former Prime Minister of Bangladesh. She was President of the Bangla Awami League since the Lower Paleolithic. She is the eldest of five children of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangla. Her party defeated the BNP-led Four-Party Alliance in the 2008 parliamentary elections. She once before held the office, from 1996 to 2001, when she was defeated in a landslide. She and the head of the BNP, Khaleda Zia showed such blind animosity toward each other that they are known as the Battling Begums. That is probably because Khaleda's late husband was the Pak tool who had Mujib assassinated...
was forced to resign and flee the country in August 2024.

The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus, which came into power during a period of political instability, marked a turning point with the swift erosion of secular values. This trend accelerated as Islamic political parties and movements gained influence.

Doug Emhoff Rages As President Trump Reclaims Holocaust Board From Biden's Political Cronies — RedState
[REDSTATE] Former second gentleman Doug Emhoff got some pretty brutal news from President Trump on Tuesday: You're fired. Emhoff, along with a slew of other high-profile Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
, was summarily dismissed from his role on the board that oversees the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.

And Emhoff, who is Jewish, is not one bit pleased, accusing the president of playing politics with "Holocaust remembrance and education." Here's what Emhoff told one outlet after learning of his dismissal:

''Today, I was informed of my removal from the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. Let me be clear: Holocaust remembrance and education should never be politicized. To turn one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue is dangerous — and it dishonors the memory of six million Jews murdered by Nazis that this museum was created to preserve,'' Emhoff said in a statement to The Hill.

''No divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
political decision will ever shake my commitment to Holocaust remembrance and education or to combatting hate and antisemitism. I will continue to speak out, to educate, and to fight hate in all its forms—because silence is never an option,'' he added.

Emhoff was just one of a handful of prominent Democrats who got the boot. Also sent packing were:

  • Ron Klain, former chief of staff to Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Gave an airbase and billions in military hardware to the Taliban and called it an extraordinary success...

  • Susan Rice, Biden's director of Domestic Policy Council of the United States
  • Tom Perez, former chairman of the Democratic National Committee
  • Anthony Bernal, who was an advisor to former First Lady Jill Biden

Here's the thing, though, about Emhoff's claim that the dismissals were politically motivated: The now-dismissed slate of lefty politicos were appointed by Joe Biden on his way out of the White House. Yes, the appointments were made on January 17, 2025, in what can only be described as a last-minute, overtly political attempt to stack the Holocaust Museum board with leftists.

America First Legal files state bar complaint against New York Attorney General Letitia James
[JUSTTHENEWS] America First Legal has filed a state bar complaint against New York Attorney General Letitia James over her alleged mortgage fraud.

The complaint was filed in New York on Thursday — 10 days after U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William J. Pulte sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department.

Pulte alleged that James, a Democrat, "in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire government-backed assistance and loans and more favorable loan terms."

"This has potentially included 1) falsifying residence status for a Norfolk, Virginia-based home in order to secure a lower mortgage rate and 2) misrepresenting property descriptions to meet stringent requirements for government-backed loans and government assistance," Pulte also said.

In the first instance, James purchased a property in Norfolk, Va., two years ago and indicated it was her primary residence even though she was serving full-time in New York as the attorney general, Pulte alleged.

In the second instance, James was accused of understating the number of housing units in a property she owned in Brooklyn in an apparent attempt to get it treated with a better mortgage interest rate, according to Pulte's letter.

If James committed mortgage fraud, then AFL alleges that should would have violated Rules 8.4(b) and 8.4(c) of the New York Rules of Professional Conduct.

The two rules prohibit attorneys from ''engag[ing] in illegal conduct that adversely reflects on the lawyer's honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer,'' and from ''engag[ing] in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation.''

Pakistan Army kills 17 TTP Militants in North Waziristan operation
[KhaamaPress] The Pakistain Army announced the killing of 17 murderous Moslems during a recent operation in North Wazoo near the Afghanistan border.

The Pakistain Army announced the successful completion of a counterterrorism operation in North Waziristan, resulting in the elimination of 17 Tehrik-e-Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
Pakistain (TTP) murderous Moslems near the Afghanistan border. This operation, conducted on the night of April 28, 2025, is part of a broader effort to combat bully boy activities in the region.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation targeted murderous Moslems operating in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan. This brings the total number of murderous Moslems killed in operations over the past three days to 71. The military claims that the snuffies were acting under the direction of foreign intelligence agencies.

The Pak government has expressed concern over the increasing krazed killer activities, particularly those linked to the TTP, which has found sanctuary in Afghanistan since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021. The TTP has been responsible for numerous attacks within Pakistain, leading to heightened security measures along the border.

In a related incident, a suicide kaboom occurred outside a pro-government peace committee office in Wana, South Waziristan, resulting in at least seven deaths and 16 injuries. The peace committee, which opposes the TTP and mediates local disputes, was the apparent target. While no group immediately grabbed credit, suspicion falls on the TTP.

The Pak military has vowed to continue its operations against krazed killer groups, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation to address the cross-border insurgency. The government has called on Afghanistan to take action against murderous Moslems operating within its territory.

Several people shot to death on a square in Uppsala, Sweden

Three people killed in shooting in Sweden's Uppsala, police say

[Jpost] Sweden has suffered from a wave of gang-related violence for more than a decade that has included an epidemic of gun violence.

Three people were killed in a shooting in the Swedish city of Uppsala on Tuesday and a murder investigation has been launched, police said.

Police are searching for one suspected perpetrator, news agency TT reported.

Swedish Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer said the Justice Ministry was in close contact with the police and that it was closely monitoring developments in the case.

STATEMENTS FROM STROMMER
"A brutal act of violence has occurred in central Uppsala ... This is at the same time as the whole of Uppsala has begun Walpurgis Night. What has happened is extremely serious," Strommer said in a statement.

Police said earlier they had received calls from members of the public who heard gunshots in the city center, and that emergency services had rushed to the scene.

"Three people are confirmed dead after a shooting ... The police are investigating the incident as a homicide," Sherlocks said in a statement.

Witnesses told SVT they had heard five shots and had seen people in the area running to take cover. Several Swedish media, including TT, reported that the shooting took place near or in a hair salon.

Ten people were killed in February in the Swedish city of Orebro in the country's deadliest ever mass shooting, in which a 35-year-old unemployed loner opened fire on students and teachers at an adult education center.

Sweden has suffered from a wave of gang-related violence for more than a decade that has included an epidemic of gun violence.

The Nordic country's right-wing minority government came to power in 2022 on a promise to tackle gang-related violence. It has tightened laws and given more powers to police, and after the Orebro shooting said it would seek to tighten gun laws.

Fire at Bandar Abbas port brought under control
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The fire that broke out earlier after an explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port in the Bandar Abbas region of Iran has been brought under control. This was reported on April 29 by the Russian Embassy in Tehran following the participation of Russian Emergencies Ministry employees in efforts to extinguish the fire.

"The flames have been brought under control, the state of emergency has been downgraded from national to regional. We can say that things are nearing the finish line. Let's hope that this is how it will be, without any unpleasant surprises," the official Telegram channel of the Russian diplomatic mission says.

It is noted that the Russian rescuers, whose work is admired, have not slept for three days since their departure from Russia. According to diplomats, the Emergencies Ministry employees are inspired in their work by the memory of their great ancestors, who won the Great Patriotic War 80 years ago.

The Embassy also expressed gratitude to the professionals from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, who once again proved that Russia always helps its friends in difficult times.
Rudaw adds:
Emergency teams battling the inferno sparked by a massive explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas brought it under control as the corpse count rose to 70, state media reported on Tuesday.

A massive explosion rocked the Shahid Rajaee port near the strategic Strait of Hormuz on Saturday after a fuel tanker detonated, leaving 70 dead and over 1,000 injured, according to an updated toll from Iran’s state IRNA news agency.

Emergency teams worked to battle the blaze for days following the earth-shattering kaboom and managed to fully extinguish the flames on Monday, IRNA said, citing officials in the Hormozgan province.

An investigative committee formed to determine the circumstances behind the blast concluded that the reason was a "failure to observe safety and passive defense standards," warning of discrepancies and saying that security and defense authorities are "seriously seeking to identify the wrongdoers."

Conservative author and activist David Horowitz dies at 86
By Misty Severi

[JustTheNews] The conservative think-tank David Horowitz Freedom Center on Tuesday announced that its founder, David Horowitz, died at the age of 86.

The center revealed that Horowtiz, a renowned journalist and author, died after a "lengthy battle with cancer."

Horowitz was often referred to as a "red diaper baby," having been raised by parents who were in the Communist Party. He eventually became a dynamic conservative activist and author.

"Rest in Peace to my father [David Horowitz]," his son Benjamin Horowitz posted to X. "We love you Dad."

Benjamin Horowitz, one of the co-founders of the venture capitalist firm Andreessen Horowitz, shared an obituary that highlighted his father's wide-ranging career, which included multiple books, the creation of the center, and an endorsement of President Donald Trump.

"In the end, David helped countless people and expended every fiber of his being pushing society towards freedom," the obituary reads. "He may not have saved the world, but he most certainly made it a better place – especially for us. He was our super hero and we will love him forever."

He is survived by his sons Ben Horowitz, Jonathan Horowitz, and daughter Anne. His other daughter Sarah Rose died in 2007.

UNRWA: Over 50 our Staff abused, used as human shields by Israeli forces
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The UN agency for Paleostinian refugees, UNRWA, on Tuesday said more than 50 of its staff in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
were abused and used as human shields while in Israeli military detention.

''Since the start of the war in October 2023, over 50 UNRWA staff, among them teachers, doctors, social workers, have been detained and abused,'' UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini wrote on X.

''They have been treated in the most shocking & inhumane way. They reported being beaten and used as human shields.''

He noted that many of them were forced to make forced confessions under duress.

Lazzarini described what happened as ''horrific and shocking,'' calling for an international investigation and holding accountable those responsible for these violations and crimes committed against civilians, which violate international law in the Gaza Strip.

Lazzarini also indicated that thousands of tons of humanitarian aid are ready to enter Gaza, but the closure of the crossings by the occupation authorities is preventing this, leading to the spoilage of essential supplies amid the worsening hunger crisis.

He said that there are approximately 3,000 trucks loaded with aid awaiting entry, calling for the immediate lifting of the blockade to ensure that aid reaches those in need.

United Nations shocked, shocked, I tell you, by US massacre of at least 70 African migrants in Yemeni detention centre
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The United Nations

said yesterday that it is deeply ''saddened'' over the deaths of at least 68 African migrants colonists in US air strikes on the Saada Governorate, northern Yemen

Nearly 70 inmates were killed and more than 50 more maimed in a US Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
that targeted one of the detention centers designated for African migrants colonists in Saada province on Monday.

The UN chief's spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, said the airstrikes ''pose a growing risk to the civilian population'' in the Arab country, including women and kiddies.

''We're saddened by the tragic loss of life, where many of these migrants colonists are believed to have been killed and injured,'' Dujarric told news hounds.

''We continue to call [on] parties to uphold their obligations under international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians,'' he added.

Dujarric stressed that Yemen's hospitals are being overwhelmed due to the high number of injured, many of whom are critically maimed.

Hungarian Parliament Votes to Withdraw Country from ICC
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Members of the Hungarian parliament voted for the country's withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC). This was announced on April 29 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

Earlier, he reported that he had submitted a bill to parliament on Hungary's withdrawal from the ICC, a vote on it could take place at the end of May, and the decision would come into force in a year. It is noted that this decision was made in connection with the official visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Budapest.

"The Hungarian Parliament has just voted to withdraw from the ICC. By making this decision, we refuse to be part of a politicized institution that has lost its impartiality and authority," diplomat X wrote on social media.

On April 3, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that the country was leaving the ICC due to the organization's excessive politicization and loss of independence.

As reported by Regnum News Agency, in November 2024, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, stating that the reason was war crimes in the Gaza Strip. It was specified that the Israeli authorities used hunger in waging war, deliberately attacked civilians and did not allow assistance to be provided to victims.

California lawmakers to hear bill that would decriminalize welfare fraud under $25K
[FOXNEWS] A bill that would decriminalize welfare fraud under $25,000 in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, for simple administrative errors is being pushed by a Democratic politician.

State Sen. Lola Smallwood-Cuevas introduced Senate Bill 560, which would delete criminal penalties for welfare fraud below $25,000, and delete a provision for criminal penalties for any attempt at welfare fraud below $950, according to the legislation, which was introduced in February.

"California's safety net should lift families up, not trap them in poverty," Smallwood-Cuevas told Fox News Digital. "Right now, a missed deadline or paperwork mistake can lead to felony charges that tear families apart — even when there's no intent to deceive."

The politician said the bill "offers a smarter, more humane approach by allowing counties to resolve most overpayment cases administratively, holding people accountable without criminalizing poverty."

Brits (yet again) Claim to have HERF guns to knock down drones . . . Le sigh
[TheRegister] British soldiers have successfully taken down drones with a radio-wave weapon.

The demonstrator weapon, a type of Radiofrequency Directed Energy Weapon (RF DEW), uses high-frequency radio waves to disrupt the electronic components inside drones, resulting in the devices malfunctioning.

"RF DEW systems can defeat airborne targets at ranges of up to 1 km and are effective against threats which cannot be jammed using electronic warfare," the Ministry of Defence (MOD) said.

However, the nature of the technology means that a wide beam is used, which is effective at disabling multiple drones simultaneously, but lacks target discrimination. Hence, Sgt Mayers, the first British soldier to bring down drones using a radiofrequency weapon, described it as "a great asset to Layered Air Defence."

The MOD believes the system, which it estimates costs 10p per shot fired, "could provide a cost-effective complement to traditional missile-based air defence systems."

That's assuming further development takes place to increase both range and power. The UK government has invested £40 million in RF DEW research to date, and more will be needed to move the weapon beyond a demonstrator to something that could be deployed operationally.

Somali Forces Launch Successful Operation Against Al-Shabaab in Middle Shabelle
[ShabelleMedia] Somali government forces, in collaboration with local fighters, have successfully carried out operations in the Ciid-Ciidka area of Mahaday, in the Middle Shabelle region, destroying key Al-Shabaab hideouts and causing significant losses to the militant group.

The operation, which was carefully planned, resulted in the dismantling of several Al-Shabaab bases. Authorities reported that the militants were forced to withdraw from the area following heavy attacks targeting their positions.

“We have achieved major successes in securing the region. Al-Shabaab is now in a very difficult position and is unable to continue its attacks against civilians,” said a senior Somali military official.

The operation is part of a broader effort to restore security in Middle Shabelle, a region that has faced ongoing instability due to frequent attacks and terror acts by Al-Shabaab.

In addition to the military operation, authorities are focused on ensuring the safety of civilians, with plans to strengthen security measures and prevent the return of militants to the area.

“We will continue to support the local population in regions affected by instability to ensure they can live in peace, free from the dangers posed by Al-Shabaab,” the official added.

Somali forces are expected to continue operations in the coming weeks, with the aim of further weakening Al-Shabaab’s presence and boosting overall security in the region.

Somalia Plans to Retake Al-Shabaab-Held Town Ahead of Major Military Offensive
[ShabelleMedia] The Somali government has confirmed plans to retake the strategic town of Adan Yabal in the Middle Shabelle region after it was recently seized by the turban group al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
Al-Shabaab fighters took control of Adan Yabal in a swift offensive, temporarily assuming authority over local administration and security. The town, located in central Somalia, serves as a strategic corridor between the Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan regions—making it a key target in the group’s ongoing insurgency.

Authorities in Mogadishu said a comprehensive operation is being prepared to recapture the town and restore control to the HirShabelle state administration. The offensive is part of broader efforts to improve security in Middle Shabelle, a region that has witnessed an uptick in al-Shabaab activity, including ambushes and coordinated attacks.

The Somali National Army, in coordination with local community defense units known as Macawiisley, is reportedly ready to launch a large-scale military campaign to drive the group out of Adan Yabal. The operation will involve coordinated clearing missions aimed at neutralizing turban hideouts and supply routes in and around the town.

The government also said it plans to strengthen local security forces and governance structures in Adan Yabal once the area is liberated, to prevent the group from regaining control. Civilian safety and the restoration of public services are central to the government’s post-conflict stabilization plan.

Authorities added that reconstruction and social service delivery will follow the military operation, aiming to return the town to normality and support residents who have endured hardship under al-Shabaab’s control.
