15 Cartel Members Convicted in South Texas Drug Trafficking Conspiracy
[Breitbart] Fifteen members of one of Mexico’s most violent drug cartels pleaded guilty in a U.S. federal court to helping smuggle tons quantities of drugs into Texas. The cartel members will be sentenced later this year.

The convicted drug smugglers are all part of the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas, a criminal organization based in Nuevo Laredo The cartel is responsible for a large part of the violence in the Mexican border state of Tamaulipas and for several violent crimes in South Texas.

This week, Gustavo Alberto Duenes-Perez, went before a U.S. District Judge and pleaded guilty to various drug conspiracy charges. Duenes-Perez is the fifteenth member of the CDN-Los Zetas to plead guilty in recent days. All fifteen members will be sentenced in June. The cartel members along with several other individuals who remain unnamed in a multicount criminal indictment are all accused of working for the CDN-Los Zetas cartel.

According to information released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, the case began in March 2019 when agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration learned that the CDN-Los Zetas provided Duenes-Perez and his associates with funds to purchase a utility truck that would be used to transport drugs to a warehouse located in Laredo, Texas.

Authorities monitored the vehicle and through surveillance operations learned that Duenez-Perez regularly drove the vehicle. The drug smuggling cell that operated in Texas used personal vehicles and utility trucks to move drugs within Laredo from various stash houses and onto a ranch.

In April of that year, authorities followed Duenes-Perez as he and his group moved a load of drugs from a ranch to a stash house in Laredo.

Authorities raided the ranch and stash house, seizing a total of 11,240 kilograms (approximately 12 tons) of marijuana with an approximate value of $11.6 million.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Forensics Expert: 2,000 Bloodthirsty Serial Killers May Be Living in U.S.
[Breitbart] Cold case expert Paul Holes, who played an instrumental role in identifying Joseph James DeAngelo, better known as the “Golden State Killer,” said there could be as many as 2,000 bloodthirsty serial killers living in the United States.

“I’ve seen statistics that some two thousand serial killers are operating in the United States today,” Holes wrote in his new book Unmasked: My Life Solving America’s Cold Cases, the New York Post reported.

Holes, who Los Angeles Magazine notes served as a forensics chief in California’s Contra Costa County, told the Post that the number is “realistic,” though it is an approximation.

Holes explained that serial killers tend to prey on those who are on the fringes of society, including homeless individuals, drug addicts, and prostitutes. The former forensics chief said killers target such people, considering that they often fall out of communication with family, who may be accustomed to them disappearing for long periods.

“Often these predators are preying on people whose lives have spiraled down, so when they go missing, no one is really paying attention,” he told the Post. “Killers are hiding behind the opioid crisis.”

Holes went on to detail that murderers use the crisis as a camouflage, as less violence is required to strangle someone high on opioids as opposed to a sober victim. Pathologists may attribute the cause of death to drug use, not noticing a small bruise around a victim’s neck, or another subtle indicator that foul play was involved due to less violence being used, Holes said.

He referenced Samuel Little, a serial killer who admittedly strangled 93 women over four decades, according to the Post. Little would demand his victims swallow while choking them, which subdued the physical evidence to their bodies and made investigative efforts more difficult for experts, Holes explained.

The former forensics chief went on to chronicle the differences in how serial killers operate today as opposed to four to five decades ago.

Holes explained that while in the 1970s, a predator may have forced entry into someone’s home to commit a murder or targeted a hitchhiker, surveillance systems and other public safety efforts have deterred them from such brazen murders. Instead, they attempt to meet individuals, such as prostitutes, online and get them alone.

Holes used “genetic genealogy” and DNA mapping to help identify DeAngelo as the “Golden State Killer,” leading to his 2018 arrest, according to the Post and L.A. Magazine. DeAngelo pleaded guilty to 13 murders and 13 rape-related charges in June 2020 and was sentenced to life in prison without parole in August 2020, NPR reported.

Antifa mob wreaks havoc on GOP candidate's Portland rally: 'From roses to riots'
[FoxNews] Stan Pulliam says Portland police took 20 minutes to respond to calls from rallygoers.

Sandy, Oregon mayor and Republican gubernatorial candidate Stan Pulliam is devastated after an alleged Antifa group disrupted his "Fund the Police" rally in Portland on Saturday.

Prepared to throw firecrackers at attendees and deface campaign materials, the group brought a reminder of its "anti-fascist" message that often finds itself on the opposing end of free speech supporters.

During a Monday interview with "Fox & Friends First" guest host Joey Jones, Pulliam described the developments as "unbelievable."

"The city of Portland – from roses to riots. As a statewide candidate for governor, we should be able to go to the largest metropolitan community of our state and have a peaceful campaign rally," he said.

"Of course, less than 15 minutes in, we're greeted by Antifa, showing up with firecrackers that they're throwing at us, paint, feces all over our campaign [signs], our campaign bus completely destroyed…"

Pulliam used the instance to illustrate the state of Portland and to remind viewers that he would act as a fighter for the people of his state.

He also weighed in on claims that Antifa is fictitious, saying that certain naysayers denied that the development took place.

Antifa rioters clash with anti-mask protesters in bloody confrontationVideo
"It's unbelievable. We have video footage evidence that's all over Twitter, all over social media, the local news has picked it up, and just like you say, they're claiming it didn't even happen," he said.

Pulliam pointed to the wave of violent crime, including riots and homicides, and to a shortage of law enforcement which prompted a 20-minute wait for a 911 operator after attendees attempted to call the police.

Pulliam added these examples in stressing the need for change.

"That's why we're running for governor," he said. "Republicans are looking for a fighter, and we're going to take this fight all the way to the governor's office."

#1  In urban American cities, there is an emergent parallel to 1930's Germany that gives one pause. Conservatives, labeled falsely as fascists/nazi/white supremacists, are becoming the new Jews. Abuse, lies, and public intimidation are increasingly tolerated, even encouraged. (The "push-back on them" Maxine Waters comment for example). This Alinsky playbook strategy linked to tolerant city administrations and pliant media is creating a two-reality national consciousness along our main political divide.

And for the demokrat Puppet Show and profligate Congress, the fear of the looming backlash justifies last minute insanity and even suspect election irregularities.

Mayorkas admits he ‘could have done a better job' explaining mission of ‘disinformation' board
[FoxNews] DHS secretary says the board tackles 'disinformation that presents a security threat to the homeland'.
We’re the government, and we’re here to help.
Mayorkas announced that DHS created a Disinformation Governance Board to combat online disinformation during his testimony Wednesday before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security.

"The goal is to bring the resources of [DHS] together to address this threat," he said during the hearing, adding that the department is focused on the spread of disinformation in minority communities ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
So not just totalitarian, but racist as well? Goody.
Mayorkas explained Sunday that the board specifically addresses "disinformation that presents a security threat to the homeland."

"Disinformation from Russia, from China, from Iran, from the cartels," he said.
Right. Either only minorities care about that stuff, or only minorities are stupid enough to not be able to distinguish fact from fiction on those subjects. Do you choose the devil, Secretary Mayorkas, or the deep blue sea?
"This is a working group that takes best practices to make sure that, in addressing disinformation that presents a threat to the homeland, our work does not infringe on free speech, does not infringe on civil rights, civil liberties," he continued. "It's not about speech, it's about the connectivity to violence. That is what we need to address. You know, an individual has the free speech right to spew anti-Semitic rhetoric. What they don't have the right to do is take hostages in a synagogue, and that's where we get involved."

Great White North
Afghan interpreters fear families 'forgotten' by Canada
[BBC] In late 2011, Saifullah Mohammad Zahed was working as an interpreter for Canadian troops in Afghanistan's Kandahar province when he received a letter from the Taliban.

"They said they knew I was working for 'infidels' and told me to stop," he remembers. "They said they would kill me and my family if I didn't."

Soon after, Mr Zahed was able to move to Canada after six years working with Canadian and Nato forces in Kandahar, a province considered to be the birthplace of the Taliban.

It wasn't an idle threat.

"My dad was shot and killed by the Taliban," he told the BBC from his home in Calgary. "Since then, my family has been moving around, going from province to province. We've all been Taliban targets for a long time."

Mr Zahed is one of hundreds of Afghans who worked for Canadian forces as interpreters and in other jobs. Many are hoping to get their families out of Afghanistan - where they are at risk of retribution from the victorious Taliban - and bring them to Canada.

After the fall of Kabul last August, Canada's federal government vowed to welcome as many as 40,000 refugees and vulnerable Afghans to the country. As of 21 April, more than 11,300 Afghans had arrived in Canada.

As part of that effort, the government in November announced a pathway to permanent residency for extended family members of Afghan interpreters already in Canada.

But critics of the extended family programme have accused the government of burdening family members with unreasonable and often redundant bureaucratic hurdles - including documentation and biometrics - that result in delays.

Several Afghan interpreters in Canada described dozens of pages worth of necessary documents and few, if any, possibilities of family members leaving Afghanistan to complete the required steps in safety.

To date, not a single Afghan has made it to Canada through that programme.

Jenny Kwan is the opposition New Democratic Party's immigration critic, and has been advocating on behalf of at least 300 Afghan families - about 5,000 people in total.

She said that a primary problem is that many families still in Afghanistan are unable to safely travel to a third country where they can do the biometrics and submit the paperwork necessary to get to Canada.

"They're going to have to go to an office that's run by the Taliban right now and ask for passports," she said. "As you can imagine, red flags and alarm bells go off when the entire family shows up saying they need a passport to go to Canada."

Mr Zahed, for his part, said that the lives of family members still in Afghanistan are at risk each day they remain in the country.

While one of his two brothers was successfully smuggled out of the country to Turkey, another - who stayed in Afghanistan - has gone missing. His fate is unknown.

"The Taliban have been searching houses," he added. "I've got two other colleague that live here [in Canada] One has lost 11 [family members]since the Taliban took over. The other's sister was killed in a school. It's been really, really dangerous."

Another former interpreter, Ottawa-based Ghulam Faizi, told the BBC he has 18 members of his extended family left in Afghanistan, where they are living in hiding.

Three other family members have made it to Pakistan, where they have been waiting in vain for permission to travel to Canada.

"They've been there three months and now their Pakistani visas have expired," he said, saying some have never received a response from Canadian officials.

Many of the interpreters and those working on their behalf are frustrated by the treatment of Afghan allies when they look at how Canada is handling the process for Ukrainians fleeing war.

[legalInsurrection] Israel’s Mossad Foils Iranian Plot to Assassinate Israeli Diplomat, U.S. General. Three high-profile assassinations in Germany, France and Turkey were planned by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Israel has foiled an Iranian plot to assassinated an Israeli diplomat and a U.S. general. The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad thwarted the plan to kill the high-profile targets by detaining an operative of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Israeli media reported Saturday.

The hitjob planned by the IRGC included three targets in multiple countries: an Israeli diplomat in Turkey, a U.S. general stationed in Germany, and a journalist reporting from France, the Israeli sources confirm.

[Washington Examiner] Newt Gingrich is forecasting what could be a historic red wave this November.

The former House speaker predicts Republicans could pick up as many as 70 seats in the House in the midterm elections, as well as four in the Senate, returning control of both chambers of Congress to the GOP.

"I think we’ll pick up between 25 and 70 seats in the House. We'll probably pick up about four seats in the Senate," Gingrich told Maria Bartiromo on her Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures.

In the House, that would top the 63-seat gain by Republicans in 2010, the height of the Tea Party movement and the highest gain for both parties since 1948, notes the Washington Examiner's Paul Bedard. Democrats currently have a dozen more seats in the House than the Republicans. In the Senate, Democrats and two independents have control, with Vice President Kamala Harris as a tiebreaker.

In an Honest Election, I would agree with him.

However, given the LSD's absolute control of too many Election Operations, I have serious doubts.

eg. Atlanta-Fulton Co. GA. clear unrefutable evidence of massive voter fraud and not a single arrest.

"The force that made the arrest did not reveal the motive," he said, "but I do not believe it has something to do with the rocket attack on the Ayn al-Asad base."

The Security Media Cell (SMC) said on Saturday evening that two rockets had landed in the vicinity of the Ayn al-Asad base, causing no considerable damage.

Iraqi security forces strip 24 villages in Diyala of defensive arms

Iraqi security forces have disarmed 24 Kurdish villages in the vicinity of Khanaqin, an officer of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) revealed on Sunday, warning of a backlash on the security of the district.

In a statement to Shafaq News Agency, the media officer of the KDP's Organizations bureau/15, Sherko Tawfiq, said that forces from Diyala's Operations Command, the Police, and al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF) raided 24 villages to pursue wanted persons.

"As we support and endorse this quest, we do not approve seizing 200 weapons," he said, "these weapons are those people's means of defense against the threat of ISIS in the villages that lack a security presence."

Tawfiq called on the security forces to strike the roots of terrorism in the northern territories of Jalawla and Qara Tappa that nestle active ISIS cells.

"Why would the security forces seize those simple arms that protect the lives of the locals here, while to turns a blind eye to the heavy arms owned by the tribes that disturb the society's security even though it is relatively safe from security breaches?"

Diyala: 3 ISIS attacks kill 2, injure 3

A civilian was killed and two others were maimed in an ISIS attack north of Diyala, a security source reported.

The source told Shafaq News agency that ISIS murderous Moslems attacked in al-Butraz village, northeast of al-Udhaim district, a displaced family that returned to its home, killing one of its members and injuring two others.

A security force rushed to the scene of the incident and clashed with the terrorists, forcing them to flee.

Areas on the outskirts of al-Udhaim district are continuously subjected to terrorist attacks, due to their proximity to the borders of Saladin that lack security presence and suffer from security gaps.

A member of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF) was injured on Sunday in a failed attack on a military site in the west of al-Udhaim district, northeastern Diyala.

The media officer of the PMF's 23rd brigade, Hussein al-Husseini, said that a group of militants affiliated with the extremist ISIS group attacked with rifles sites of the brigade's 4th regiment in al-Udhaim basin near the borders with Saladin.

The stationing force managed to deter the attack and force the attackers to flee into the outskirts of Saladin, the officer said.

"The clashes resulted in injuring a fighter of the regiment," Husseini concluded.

An Iraqi soldier was killed in an ISIS attack in Diyala, a security source reported.

The source told Shafaq News agency that ISIS snipers attacked an army force deployed northeast of Baquba district, killing an Iraqi soldier.

Military reinforcements arrived at the scene of the incident and responded to the forces of Evil and forced them to withdraw.

Areas south of Kanaan district, Diyala, contain dangerous terrorist hotbeds, because they lack the required number of security forces to secure them.

Russian defense ministry facility in the southern Belgorod region bordering Ukraine catches fire

One person was injured in a fire on a Russian defense ministry facility in the southern Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, Belgorod region governor said on Sunday.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said a local resident suffered minor injuries and his life was not in danger. There were no immediate comments from the defense ministry.

Images posted to social media showed a large funnel of smoke rising above the ground. Rooters could not verify the reports.

Separately, governor of the Kursk region which also shares a border with Ukraine said that a railway bridge had been damaged on a line used by freight trains.

Speaking in a video posted on his Telegram channel, governor Roman Starovoit called the incident an act of sabotage.

Russia last month accused Ukraine of a helizap on a fuel depot in Belgorod, for which Kyiv denied responsibility, as well as shelling villages and firing missiles at an ammunition depot.

Other Russian regions that share a border with Ukraine have also reported cross-border shelling incidents since Moscow sent thousands of troops into Ukraine on February 24 in what it called a "special military operation."

Iraq
Turkish soldiers killed in Claw-Lock operation in Duhok
[Rudaw] Two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed during the ongoing military operation against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region’s Duhok province, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
’s defense ministry announced.

A Ottoman Turkish soldier was killed in a bombing blamed on the PKK, the ministry said on Sunday.

Another soldier, who was severely injured during festivities with the PKK earlier in April, departed this vale of tears and was reported dead on Saturday.

The PKK is an armed Kurdish group fighting for the increased rights of Kurds in Turkey. Ankara considers it a terrorist organization and a threat to its national security. Ottoman Turkish forces regularly pursue the PKK within the Kurdistan Region’s borders.

Turkey has launched a series of operations against the PKK in recent years, with the most recent beginning on April 18. Dubbed Claw-Lock, the new operation is aimed at PKK hideouts in Duhok’s Metina, Zap, Avashin, and Basyan areas.

The PKK said that at least 270 Ottoman Turkish soldiers have been "punished" since the start of the incursion, and around 57 others were maimed.

It also acknowledged 11 deaths in its own ranks during the latest operation.

However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
Turkey has confirmed the death of 13 of its soldiers, while claiming that it has "neutralized" 57 PKK fighters. Turkey’s army often use the term neutralize to refer to combatants killed or injured on the battlefield.

Both the PKK and Ankara often release exaggerated corpse counts of the other side.

The conflict is devastating local populations and the environment, with villagers fleeing their homes.

Iraqi officials have condemned the Ottoman Turkish breach of Iraqi illusory sovereignty, but Ankara continues its military operation.

Turkey has come under criticism from Baghdad, Erbil, Tehran, and the wider international community for violating Iraqi illusory sovereignty, but Ankara continues to establish increasing numbers of bases and outposts in the mountains of Erbil and Duhok provinces.

Mexican authorities capture a suspected leader of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Mexican authorities have captured a suspected leader of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel, the navy and the Morelos state prosecutor’s office said on Saturday.

Francisco Javier Rodriguez Hernandez, known as “El Senoron” or “XL,” was apprehended on Friday in the tourist city of Mazatlan, in the northwest state of Sinaloa, in an operation carried out by navy agents.

Rodriguez Hernandez, who allegedly heads the CJNG in the central state of Morelos, is wanted for aggravated homicide, including the murder of three doctors in April 2020, according to the Morelos Attorney General’s Office.

“In addition to the above, Francisco Javier Rodriguez Hernandez is wanted for the crime of criminal association, and is one of the main generators of violence in the state of Morelos,” it added in a statement, referring to the state neighboring the capital Mexico City.

“El Senoron” is also accused of controlling several laboratories for the production of synthetic drugs, according to the navy.

In July last year, authorities offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

The head of CJNG, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, is one of the most wanted drug lords in the world, with the US Drug Enforcement Administration offering $10 million for his arrest.

CJNG emerged in 2010 after the death of the regional leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel, Mexico’s biggest criminal group.

Mexico has been trapped in a spiral of cartel-related violence that has left more than 340,000 dead since 2006, when the government launched a controversial anti-drug operation with federal troops.

Kathy Boudin finally becomes a good communist at 78
[NYPost] Kathy Boudin, who spent decades in prison for her part in the deadly 1981 Brink’s armored truck heist as a member of the radical militant group Weather Underground, died of cancer at the age of 78 in New York on Sunday.

In October, 1981, Boudin and members of the group teamed up with the Black Liberation Army for the robbery to help fund their anti-government campaigns. They targeted a Brink’s armored truck, which they held up in Rockland County, making out with $1.6 million.

DHS Prepared to Support Importing 500,000 Illegals Per Month As The Puppet Show Steals Whats Left Of Your Children's Future
[ConservativeTreehouse] Skipping past the discussion of the DHS “disinformation board,”….. While appearing on an ironically named CNN broadcast “The State of Our Union”, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas tells John King’s ex-wife, that for several months DHS has been preparing to start handling and processing 18,000 illegal aliens per day (540,000/mo) as soon as CDC Title 42 is lifted.

If DHS estimates are accurate, between now and the November mid-term election, DHS will import an additional 3,000,000 illegal aliens from various nations around the world, through the U.S-Mexico border.

Cumulatively, this arrival estimate will put the number of illegal aliens arriving in the United States during Joe Biden’s first two years in office somewhere north of 10 million people. For scale, that’s an imported group of illegal aliens three times the size of the population of Mississippi. WATCH:

If his own estimates are correct, in combination with prior arrivals, the aggregate number of illegal aliens will easily exceed 50 million by the end of the year; more than twice the population of Pennsylvania and Ohio combined. Illegal aliens living in the U.S. will exceed 15% of the total population.

Approximately one-third of the United States workforce will be illegal aliens.

What do you think that scale of illegal labor does to wages?

Fourteen Ukrainians including a pregnant soldier have been freed in the latest prisoner exchange with Russia’s forces
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Fourteen Ukrainians including a pregnant soldier have been freed in the latest prisoner exchange with Russian forces, Ukraine said on Saturday, without revealing the number of Russians returned to Moscow.

"Today, we carried out a new exchange of prisoners. Fourteen of ours are coming home, seven military and seven civilians. One of the military women is five months pregnant," Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk said on Telegram.

In an interview with the BBC on Friday, Vereshchuk accused Russian forces of deporting large numbers of civilians into Russia and using them as "hostages."

"That’s why they captured all these hostages - civilians, women, employees of local councils, to try and use them," she was quoted as saying.

"We know there are more than a thousand hostages there - including almost 500 women," she said, adding that they were being held in prisons and pre-trial detention centers.

She emphasized the difficulty of securing the liberation of women in the exchanges.

"Now we refuse to hold an exchange with no women in the list. That is how we try to somehow rescue our women and civilians," she said.

Several exchanges between Moscow and Kyiv have taken place since Russia invaded on February 24.

Ariel terrorists planned in advance to torch car, were picked up by father: reports
[IsraelTimes] The two suspected shooters packed flammable materials in their vehicle ahead of attack, father of one has been arrested, reports say.

The two suspects in Friday’s deadly shooting in Ariel planned in advance to torch the car they used in the attack, and set out with flammable materials in the vehicle, according to Sunday reports.

New details from the investigation raised suspicions that the father of one of the suspects came to pick the two up after they burned the car, and helped them escape, the reports said.

activists have denounced it as unfair collective punishment.

Sunday reports said the weapons used in the attack were hidden in a bag in one of the suspects’ homes.

Earlier reports said the suspects had scoped out the site of the attack ahead of time, and had identified it as a vulnerable point in Israel’s West Bank security.

The father has been arrested as a key accessory.

Security officials believe that after the attack, the suspects drove for around 15 minutes, then stopped the car in an open area and burned it.

They remained on foot in the area for several hours, before making contact with one of their fathers, who picked them up in his vehicle and brought them home, Channel 13 reported.

The attackers planned the shooting for weeks, including by acquiring a stolen vehicle and firearms, and by scouting the area for potential targets, Sherlocks believe.

Vyacheslav Golev, 23, was shot full of holes inside a guard booth at the gate to the settlement on Friday night.

Earlier Sunday the military said Israeli forces raided the West Bank hometown of the two Paleostinian suspects.

During the operation in the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan, the homes of Youssef Sameeh Assi and Yahya Marei were measured and prepared for eventual demolition, the Israel Defense Forces said.

The IDF released video of troops preparing the home for demolition on Sunday.

Iraq
Iraq’s security forces say they have broken up a drug trafficking ring and seized more than six million pills of Captagon
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Iraqi security forces said Saturday they had broken up a drug trafficking ring and seized more than six million pills of the amphetamine-type stimulant Captagon, making several arrests.

Iraq’s northwestern neighbor Syria is the Middle East’s main Captagon producer.

Iraqi forces seized "around 6.2 million pills" from a warehouse in the southwest of the capital, the national security agency said in a statement, adding that the drugs were set for distribution "in areas of Baghdad and other provinces."

Three Iraqis and four suspects from other Arab countries were arrested in connection with the trafficking network, it added.

The statement said security forces broke up a second drug ring after an Arab national was arrested "in possession of six kilograms [13 pounds] of hashish," while two accomplices were also detained.

All 10 accused "admitted to links with international drug trafficking networks," it said.

Drug trafficking convictions can be punishable by the death penalty
in Iraq.

Trade in Captagon in the Middle East grew exponentially in 2021 to top $5 billion, posing an increasing health and security risk to the region, a report said earlier this month.

Captagon was the trade name of a drug initially patented in Germany in the early 1960s that contained an amphetamine-type stimulant called fenethylline used to treat attention deficit and narcolepsy among other conditions.

It was later banned and became an illicit drug almost exclusively produced and consumed in the Middle East.

The sale and use of drugs in Iraq has soared in recent years. Security forces have stepped up operations and make almost daily announcements of seizures or arrests.

In the first three months of this year, Iraqi security forces detained 18 suspected narcos in the largely desert province of Anbar, which shares a long border with Syria, according to an official source.

More than three million Captagon pills were seized in the same period.

Suez Canal chief says April revenues hit all-time record
[IsraelTimes] Egypt’s Suez Canal says its monthly revenues hit an all-time record, raking in $629 million in April.

The unprecedented income came as the Suez Canal in March increased transit fees for ships passing through the waterway.

Adm. Ossama Rabei, head of the Suez Canal Authority, says in a statement that 1,929 vessels sailed through the Suez Canal last month, compared to 1,814 in April 2021.

He says the revenues rose by 13.9% compared to April last year, when the crucial waterway received $553.6 million.

About 10% of global trade, including 7% of the world’s oil, flows through the Suez Canal, which connects the Mediterranean and Red seas.

The canal, which opened in 1869, is a major source of foreign currency to Egypt.

The annual revenues of the canal reached $6.3 billion in 2021, the highest in its history. The Canal said 20,649 vessels passed through the waterway last year, a 10% increase compared to 18,830 vessels in 2020.

The shipping industry is still under pressure from the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

Afghanistan
Central Bank: Over $760M in Cash Aid Has Reached Afghanistan
Jizya, big time. At least that's what it looks like to the Taliban and their fellows, regardless how the givers intended it.
[ToloNews] Da Afghanistan Bank (Central Bank of Afghanistan) says that more than $ 760 million has been delivered to Afghanistan so far from the international community.

Central Bank officials said the money that the world donated to Afghanistan is beneficial in maintaining the value of the Afghan currency.

"In total, $761,600,000 has been delivered. This aid preserves the value of the Afghani," said Saber Momand, front man for the Central Bank of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter wished he had thought to pack sun block...
the Ministry of Economy, called on the international community to provide humanitarian assistance in coordination with the institutions of the Islamic Emirate.

"Humanitarian aid provided through the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
should be done in coordination with ministries and government departments so that aid reaches the vulnerable families in a transparent manner and with accountability and reporting," said Abdul Rahman Habib, front man for the Ministry of Economy.

One of the reasons for the internationally-provided cash aid to Afghanistan is to prevent widespread poverty and food shortages. But Afghans say the aid is not being distributed in a fair way.

Seventy-year-old Mirajan is the father of a family of six who spends his days with his cart on the streets of Kabul trying to find a piece of bread for his family. He complains about the lack of humanitarian aid.

"Donations come but they do not give it to us. There are representatives of the people in our area who say that if you share fifty percent of the aid with us, I will put your name on the list. If you do not, I will not take your name," said Mirajan, the worker.

After the fall of the previous government, with the freezing of Afghanistan's assets by the United States, the international community pledged millions of dollars to prevent economic collapse in Afghanistan.

The UN Secretary-General has warned of a liquidity crisis in Afghanistan and stressed that the UN is working with the US Treasury Department and the Bank of Afghanistan to release frozen assets in Afghanistan.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel said to block Palestinian-American activist from traveling abroad
[IsraelTimes] Ubai Aboudi is head of Bisan, one of six Paleostinian groups that Israel last year designated terrorist organizations; groups deny terror ties and continue to operate

Israel has prevented the director of a Paleostinian civil-society group from traveling abroad to attend a professional conference in Mexico, the activist said.

Ubai Aboudi is the head of Bisan, one of six Paleostinian groups that Israel last year designated a terrorist organization. Israeli officials declined to comment on the travel ban.

In an interview, Aboudi said he tried to exit the occupied West Bank last week in order to travel to the World Social Forum, an annual gathering of civil society groups that this year is taking place in Mexico. But he said he was stopped by Israeli officials at the crossing into Jordan.

"I was informed that I am banned from traveling. I asked why I am banned from traveling. They said they did not want to inform me," he said. Aboudi, who is a US citizen, said that just a month earlier, he traveled to Jordan without any problems.

The Bisan Center for Research and Development is a nonprofit that says it is committed to promoting a Paleostinian society based on "freedom, justice, equality and dignity." Aboudi has been arrested in the past by both Israel and the Paleostinian Authority, which administers autonomous areas of the West Bank, for his political activities.

Bisan is among six Paleostinian human rights

groups that Israel last year effectively outlawed after designating them terrorist organizations.

Israel says the groups have ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine — a small Paleostinian faction with an armed wing that has carried out deadly attacks on Israelis. The PFLP is considered a terrorist group by Israel and its Western allies.

But Israel has provided little evidence backing up its claims against the six groups. The groups all continue to operate, though the Israeli crackdown has concerned international donors and caused some to cut ties.

Aboudi says he has no ties to the PFLP. The activists have said the Israeli move is an attempt to silence groups that have documented alleged harsh treatment against Paleostinians over the years.

"There is no explanation for what happened to me except that this was an attempt to silence the Paleostinian voice," Aboudi said.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: May 1st, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 22:52 Arestovich said that as a result of attacks on Russian headquarters, almost 200 people were killed within five days - "this is what has been established, but in fact there are more of them." Among them are at least 30 senior officers: "The senior officer who commanded the command post died, the elite Russian special forces were liquidated, who were guarding someone serious, many were killed. Whether Gerasimov was there - it's impossible to say for sure yet."

22:49 Arestovich said that the Russian army really has a lot of volunteers, "but they are only manpower, this is also not for long." According to him, of all those "who came in the last two weeks," no more than 30% survived.

22:47 The British edition of The Times reports, citing Ukrainian intelligence, that Russia has developed "clear plans" for an invasion of Moldova.

22:43 The Russians captured the driver of the evacuation bus in Popasna and recorded a propaganda interview with him, said the head of the Luhansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai: "The invaders forced him to say that the Ukrainian authorities are not engaged in evacuating people, that we left our own to their fate. Lies, which the Russians only live on. They kill, lie and destroy. I understand that Mikhail had no other option."

22:41 Scholz said that he is trying to change the position of several states that still remain "neutral" in relation to Russia after its attack on Ukraine. In particular, the chancellor plans to invite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a special guest to the group's summit to be held in the Bavarian Alps from 26 to 28 June.

22:39 Russian invaders are shelling settlements 50 kilometers from Krivoy Rog from the occupied territory of the Kherson region, said Alexander Vilkul, chairman of the Krivoy Rog VA.

22:37 Lavrov said that Moscow "does not aim to change the Kiev regime - only the United States is doing this."

He also commented on the possibility of completing the "operation" of the Russian Federation by May 9: "Our military will not adjust their actions to any date, including Victory Day."

22:35 Biden insists on the inevitability of punishing Russia for military aggression against Ukraine: "Just as Putin decided to launch this brutal invasion, he could decide to end it. Russia is the aggressor, and the world must and will hold Russia accountable."

22:33 Finland plans to strengthen the defenses on the border with Russia, said the commander of the border service of North Karelia, Marko Turunen. He said that now only thin barbed wire fences separate Finland from the aggressor country, which can only hold animals.

22:17 At the end of the evacuation from Azovstal, the Russians again opened fire on the city, said the commander of the 12th operational brigade of the National Guard Denis Shlega.

22:03 Zelensky: "Today, Russian troops continued to strike at the territory of our state. The fact that they choose their targets proves once again that the war against Ukraine for the Russian army is a war of extermination. They hit the warehouses of agricultural enterprises. They destroyed the warehouse with grain. They also shelled a warehouse with fertilizers. They continued to hit residential areas in the Kharkiv region, the Donbass, etc. They are pulling up forces to the south of the country to try to attack our cities and communities in the Dnipropetrovsk region."

21:16 Japan's largest oil refinery Eneos Holdings Inc announced that it has no plans to buy Russian oil. The Japanese say they will not resume buying oil from Russia until "all the problems associated with Russia's invasion of Ukraine are resolved." The company organized alternative supplies from the Middle East.

21:14 The Azov Regiment provided unique footage of the rescue operation in Mariupol:

21:10 Zelensky is convinced that the war in Ukraine will not give Russia anything, but will only increase the number of states that will work to isolate the Russian Federation: "What can be Russia's strategic success in this war? Honestly, I don't know. Destroyed lives of people, burned or the stolen property of Russia will not give anything, it will only increase the toxicity of the Russian state and the number of those who will work to isolate Russia."

20:43 Adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petr Andryushchenko, published a video of the evacuation from Azovstal:

20:38 Zelensky spoke about the evacuation from Azovstal: "Today we finally managed to start the evacuation of people from Azovstal. New people are recruited into those units whose personnel was almost completely destroyed or significantly weakened in March-April. With weak motivation. weak combat experience. They just want to get the right amount. So that they can throw these units on the offensive ... But why do Russian soldiers themselves? Why do their relatives? Russian commanders lie to their soldiers when they say that some kind of serious responsibility for refusing to fight. And at the same time they do not tell, for example, about the preparation by the Russian army of additional refrigerators for storing corpses. They do not tell what new "planned" losses the generals are expecting."

IDF announces West Bank, Gaza crossings to close for Memorial Day, Independence Day
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli army announces it is imposing a closure on border crossings between Israel and the West Bank and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip during Yom Hazikaron and Yom Haatzma’ut.

The closure will begin Tuesday at 3 p.m., and last until midnight between Thursday and Friday, May 6.

The Israel Defense Forces says the border crossings for Paleostinians will reopen "subject to a situational assessment."

Such closures are standard practice during festivals and holidays, in what the military says is a preventative measure against attacks at those times, which are seen as periods of increased tension.

A closure was imposed during the first and last days of Passover but was not extended over the entire holiday. During the holiday of Purim in March, the military skipped it all together for the first time in five years.

Europe
European Union leaning towards ban on imports of Russian oil by end of year; Germany slashing imports already
Everything should be over by then.

Germany slashes energy reliance on Russia
When Germany does something, they do it thoroughly.
[IsraelTimes] Germany says it has made progress in sharply reducing its reliance on Russian energy, a strategic shift Europe’s biggest economy has embarked on since Russia invaded Ukraine.

Russian supplies now make up 12 percent of Germany’s oil imports compared to 35 percent previously, the economy ministry says in a statement.

Coal from Russia has also been slashed to eight percent compared to 45 percent of Germany’s purchases previously.

Dependence on gas remains substantial, but Europe’s biggest economy had also reduced its Russian sources to 35 percent of the total compared to 55 percent before Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.

The government had in March laid out plans to halve oil imports from Russia by June and to end coal deliveries by the autumn.

Germany is also expected to be able to largely wean itself off Russian gas in mid-2024.

"All these steps that we have taken require an enormous effect from all players and they also mean costs that are being felt by the economy and consumers," says Economy Minister Robert Habeck.

"But they are necessary if we no longer want to be blackmailed by Russia," he stresses.

The reliance of Europe’s biggest economy on Russian energy has been exposed as an Achilles’ heel as Western allies scramble to penalize Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
for his attack on Ukraine.

The export giant has since been racing to find alternative energy suppliers to replace Russian contracts.

Police arrest 5 for suspected attacks on buses going to Western Wall during Passover
[IsraelTimes] Residents of East Jerusalem and Qalqilya set to be indicted in the coming days, report says.

Police in Jerusalem over the weekend arrested five suspects for attacking buses and cars headed to the Western Wall during Passover last month.

The suspects are from East Jerusalem and Qalqilya, Ynet reported.

Prosecutors are expected to indict them in the coming days.

The alleged attack took place on the morning of April 17, when a group of rioters gathered and attacked the vehicles outside the Old City.

The assailants smashed the windows of the bus and did other damage by hurling stones at the vehicle.

A collaborator in a private car helped hold up traffic by stopping in the road, allowing the attackers to target the vehicles.

Several buses were heavily damaged in the assault, and some passengers were lightly injured.

The attackers expeditiously departed at a goodly pace after, but at least two were apprehended soon after in East Jerusalem.

Last month, police detained 20 suspects for riots in the Old City at the time, including some who allegedly threw stones at buses.

Other suspects were detained for throwing rocks and firecrackers at police from Old City rooftops, and for assaulting Orthodox Jews headed to pray at the Western Wall.

The attacks took place amid sky-high tensions in Jerusalem between Israel and the Paleostinians.

The Moslem holy month of Ramadan, typically a period of friction, saw regular festivities at the flashpoint Temple Mount.

The Old City compound is the holiest site to Jews, and the al-Aqsa Mosque, which sits atop the Temple Mount, is the third-holiest shrine for Moslems.

This year, Ramadan coincided with the week-long Jewish Passover holiday, which brought thousands of Jews to the Old City, including to the Western Wall, which is located beneath the Temple Mount.

Ramadan comes to an end this week, but tensions remain high. The head of the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terror group in Gazoo

Republicans Slam Biden Plan to Divert VA Resources to Deal with Self-Inflicted Border Crisis
[LI] During congressional hearings focused on the Biden border disaster, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas indicated that the Biden administration was considering diverting resources from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to help illegal immigrants if and when the Title 42 controls ended.

Title 42 expulsions are removals by the U.S. government of persons who have recently been in a country where a communicable disease was present. Biden has slated to end them on May 23.

Republicans are slamming the administration for this proposal.

...{S]everal representatives have sent a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas about the ’mishandling’ of the border and called the possible usage of VA personnel at the border ’deeply troubling’ as it is already hard for veterans to see doctors.

’Moving VA medical staff away from our veteran’s healthcare needs to examine illegal immigrants is a recipe for disaster,’ the letter, written by Georgia Representative Jody Hice, said. ’Wait times for a veteran to see their doctor can average 22 days and reach as high as 42 days. This is unacceptable mismanagement of federal government resources by the Biden administration.

’Biden’s failed open border policies are no excuse to funnel resources away from our veterans. Our men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our liberties and our country’s sovereignty deserve the best resources for their health care needs.

’The Biden Administration must provide the American people answers. Even the thought of abandoning our veterans’ care for the needs of illegal aliens is disgraceful.’

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, says he still hasn’t received an answer from Biden on these plans.

In his letter, Cruz urged the president "to secure our Southern border and immediately renew Title 42," a public health authority that’s allowed federal agents to quickly expel illegal immigrants during a public health emergency. The Biden administration announced it was ending it May 23. Unless halted by the courts, border officials say ending Title 42 will result in roughly 18,000 people rushing the southern border a day, overwhelming Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement as a result.

"[T]he Department of Homeland Security has been considering potential strategies for dealing with the anticipated influx of migrants when CBP’s Title 42 authority is revoked," Cruz said in a statement. "Reportedly, one such strategy, according to a source from within CBP, includes diverting VA medical personnel and deploying them to the border. The CBP source went on to say ’[w]e’re going to take medical services away from people ... [w]ho went to combat ... to give free medical attention to illegal migrants.’"

This "is completely unacceptable," Cruz said.

Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) sent a letter yo Biden’s Veterans Affairs Secretary asking if any resources from the VA will be diverted from serving our nation’s veterans to deal with the crisis Biden has created on our southern border.

"We need to ensure that no money that was set aside to help our veterans is being diverted to the southern border," Miller said. "VA resources should be used for our veterans, not to manage President Biden’s self-created crisis at the southern border. Instead of depriving our nation’s heroes of resources, the Biden administration should reinstate the effective border security policies of the Trump administration and complete construction of the border wall."

#1  I commented this earlier, My wifes tax return was mostly taken to pay back VA bills that we never got a bill for. Yet these assholes are sending the Va resources to help these cockroaches. I hope everyone of the cocksuckers in Washington D.C. die a horrible death.

#2  The Puppet Show is acting like an Imperial state, all the parts of government are available for re-driection by Imperial Edict (Executive Order). The flaw is that the very agency that should be stopping these actions as unconstitutional is the most infested with the Magic Kenyans followers, the risible Department of Justice. And since no one has gone to jail for the theft or diversion of public monies to purposes for which they were not appropriated since the beginning of Obama 1.0, the pattern of acceptance is set even for the weak-kneed GOP leadership. Veterans could literally be dying for lack of treatment earned by their service, while illegal aliens are treated for free . YJCMTSU!

Drug overdose deaths among adolescents on the rise
[FoxNews] According to a study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association, deadly overdoses among adolescents nearly doubled from 492 in 2019 to 954 in 2020. They jumped another 20% in 2021.

George Youngblood, who has worked with Teen and Family Services in Houston, said the COVID-19 pandemic affected hundreds of children across the country in the same way that it did Lydia.

"The more we isolated our kids without being able to do all the social-emotional learning that they needed to do, I think that the mental health crisis became so acute. They experienced anxiety and depression," Youngblood said.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse has found that drugs are becoming deadlier.

"There has been a huge rise in illicitly manufactured prescription pills that contain fentanyl, at least 30% of which have doses that can kill someone," the institute's director, Dr. Nora D. Volkow, said. "We believe this may be one of the factors that’s putting teenagers at a higher risk for overdose mortality."
I seem to recall that fentanyl comes from China...
Last year, the El Paso sector of Customs and Border Protection alone seized more than six times the amount of fentanyl it did in 2018.

Last week, President Biden released the first National Drug Control Strategy focused on untreated addiction and drug trafficking. Federal officials said about two-thirds of drug overdoses over the last year were related to fentanyl.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Report: Biden Labor Secretary Covered for Police Union that Enabled Convicted Child Rapist
[Breitbart] U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Marty Walsh protected records that showed the Boston Police union knew about a top official’s history of child sexual abuse during his tenure as Boston mayor.

Patrick Rose, former president of Boston’s police union, pled guilty to 21 child rape and sexual assault counts on Monday. Walsh’s successor as mayor released records that showed the police conducted an internal investigation into Rose after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy.

After the Boston Globe requested records of a 1995 police department investigation into sexual assault allegations against Rose following his 2020 arrest for child rape, Walsh cited the victim’s identity as a reason for not releasing the records.

However, the records ultimately released by Walsh’s successor redacted the victim’s identity. The records showed the police department’s internal investigation concluded Rose likely sexually assaulted the young boy. The documents also revealed that the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association and the Boston police union advocated for Rose to be taken off desk duty following the 1995 investigation into his sexual assault.

Despite the investigation’s conclusion, Rose continued to work as an officer until his retirement in 2018. Rose even served as president of the police union from 2014 to 2017.

After Rose’s conviction, he was sentenced to 10-13 years in prison and ten years on probation.

In addition to Rose, Walsh also withheld information about domestic abuse allegations against former police commissioner Dennis White. The Washington Free Beacon reported that a Boston police officer swore in an affidavit that Walsh knew about the domestic abuse allegations against White when he appointed White to be the city’s police commissioner.

Walsh ultimately suspended White after the Boston Globe reported on the accusations against him. After suspending White, Walsh claimed to be unaware of the allegations against him.

Again, Walsh refused to release White’s alleged abuse records after the Boston Globe requested them. Walsh also reportedly delayed an investigation into White while the U.S. Senate considered his confirmation as Labor Secretary.

  • Several European countries, though, have moved to ban the use of puberty blockers for children and adolescents

  • In Sweden, a television investigation found that 13 adolescents who were given puberty blockers started having adverse reactions

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Day 67 of Invasion; Day 13 of Battle of Donbass
from Militaryland and Understandingwar; source link to former

Continued Ukraine efforts to erode Russia positions in north near Kharkiv but little actual change in territory.

Russia apparently discontinued its offensive NE of Slovyansk and started a new offensive NW of Slovyansk. Perhaps this was because Ukraine moved troops in to defend against the former. The new offensive area is actually riskier for Russia as the logistic chain is longer and more exposed but there may be strategy behind it that is not readily discernible.

Russia also advanced by some 5 km south of Slovyansk near Velyka Novosilka but met Ukraine resistance and stopped.

Russia is moving to require the use of Russian currency in areas they hold in the south so this may be added to their Donbass war aims.

Ukraine forces still hold on to part of Mariupol, although Russia declared victory back on April 21.

Both sides are bombarding the other. Ukraine apparently hit another Russian command post near Izyum yesterday.

Iraq
At least six rockets target Erbil province, rocket launcher seized in Ninevah
[Rudaw] At least six rockets landed in Erbil province’s Khabat district on Sunday night, with the rockets originating from Nineveh province, according to the Kurdistan Region’s Directorate General of Counter Terrorism (CTD).

The rockets caused no casualties or material damages, the Region’s counter-terrorism directorate added, and were fired from the proximity of al-Hamdaniya district. The Iran-linked Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, or Hashd al-Shaabi) have a strong presence in al-Hamdaniya.

Erbil Governor Omed Koshnaw confirmed to Rudaw that the attack caused no civilian or material damage.

Hadi Salimi, Rudaw’s news hound on the ground, said that the rockets were likely targeting the Kawergosk oil refinery, which was the target of last month’s attack.

According to the Peshmerga ministry, the site of the attack has previously been targeted "several times by Katyusha rockets."

A number of Katyusha rockets landed in the Khabat district of Erbil near the Kawergosk oil refinery on April 6, without causing any casualties or material damage.

The oil refinery is one of the largest refineries in the Kurdistan Region and is operated by the Iraqi-Kurdish oil company KAR Group, the owner of whom's residence was targeted by Iranian missiles in March.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps grabbed credit for the March 13 missile attack on Erbil which caused extensive damage. At least four of the missiles landed on a property belonging to the CEO and founder of KAR Group, Baz Karim Barzinji in the early hours of March 13.

Earlier on Sunday, Karim in a statement said that there were no justifications for the Iranian missile strikes on his property in March, and thanked an Iraqi parliamentary fact-finding committee after it found no evidence for Iran’s accusations.
Al Arabiya adds:
Six missiles targeted the KAR Group oil refinery in Iraq's northern city of Erbil on Sunday, leading to fire erupting in on of the man oil tanks, Iraq’s security forces said.

The fire was brought under control, the security forces added.

Kurdish businessman thanks parliamentary committee, denounces Iranian missile strike on his property

[Rudaw] A Kurdish businessman whose house bore the largest brunt of the Iranian missiles that targeted Erbil in March expressed his regards on Sunday towards a parliamentary fact-finding committee after its report last week discredited the validity of the strikes.

The report confirmed that "the justifications for the attack were invalid and based on misleading information," Baz Karim Barzinji said on his Twitter, adding that "a serious error in assessment and information occurred," on the side of the perpetrators.

Investigations into the missile attack in a report by the Iraqi parliament's fact-finding committee found no evidence to support the Iranian accusations and concluded that Karim's residence was neither an Israeli base nor was he involved in any form of political activity or movement.

Under the pretext of striking an Israeli base, Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
fired a dozen ballistic missiles targeting areas surrounding the US consulate building in Erbil in the early hours of March 13, injuring two civilians and causing severe material damage to houses. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) grabbed credit for targeting "the strategic center of the Zionist conspiracy and evil by point-to-point missile," an accusation vehemently rejected by Kurdish authorities.

At least four missiles landed on the residence of Karim, the CEO and founder of the Iraqi-Kurdish oil company KAR group, an individual whose house Iran claimed harbored a secret Mossad (Israeli intelligence) base in Erbil.

A loaded rocket launchpad was seized in Nineveh plane, an hour after a missile attack targeted an oil tank in Khabat district, a security source reported.

The source told Shafaq News agency that the security forces launched a search campaign following the Khabat attack, during which they found a rocket launchpad loaded with three rockets.

The rockets were possibly prepared to be launched on Zlikan base or Khabat district, according to the source.

A source who works at the Khabat oil refinery, Erbil, revealed to Shafaq News agency that the recent attack targeted an oil tank.

The source noted that the special teams managed to control the fire.

One person sustained minor injuries in the attack, according to the source.

Earlier today six rockets landed in the vicinity of the Khabat district, west of Erbil, Kurdistan's Counter-Terrorism Agency said in a statement on Sunday evening.

The statement said that the rockets landed near the Bahdinan river, causing no damage.

"The rockets were launched from al-Hamdaniyah, a sub-district of Nineveh's Bartala district," he continued.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia to discuss extending term of $3 billion loan
[IsraelTimes] Pakistain and Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
say they will discuss extending the term of a $3 billion loan to help Islamabad’s faltering economy.

The Gulf nation has long been an intelligence partner of Pakistain as well as a regular source of financial relief for successive governments.

The latest sign of support follows a visit to Saudi Arabia by new Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif
...Pak dynastic politician, brother of PM Nawaz Sharif, chief minister of Punjab...
, who has inherited a crippling national debt, galloping inflation and a feeble rupee.

A joint statement says the kingdom would continue to support the Pak economy and had discussed "augmenting the $3 billion deposit with the central bank through term extension or otherwise."

Saudi Arabia also pledged "to further enhance the financing of petroleum products" at a time when the South Asian country is suffering from frequent power cuts.

The statement comes after recent talks between Pakistain and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the release of funds under an existing $6 billion aid program that had stalled due to concerns about the pace of reforms.

The cash-strapped nation’s foreign exchange reserves plunged below $11 billion last month.

India-Pakistan
Indian security forces have killed 62 militants, including 15 foreigners, in the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region this year
In case you've lost count...
Indian security forces have killed 62 murderous Moslems, including 15 foreigners, in the disputed Jammu & Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
region this year, a senior police official said on Sunday.

Kashmir, claimed by India and Pakistain but ruled in parts by each country, has long been the site of an armed insurrection against New Delhi. Two of the three wars between India and Pakistain have been fought over Kashmir.

India, which says it seeks to keep bad boy murderous Moslem groups from expanding their base, accuses Pakistain of funding murderous Moslem groups who want independence for Indian-administered Kashmir, a claim Islamabad denies.

The state’s police chief, Vijay Kumar, said some of the faceless myrmidons killed this year had links with Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
, a murderous Moslem group that has in recent years allegedly recruited and trained men to fight Indian authority in Kashmir.

A hallmark of the group is to conduct "fedayeen" attacks where men are willing to fight to the death but are not jacket wallahs.

Kumar said 15 faceless myrmidons linked with the Pakistain-based murderous Moslem group Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
- which took responsibility for one of the deadliest attacks on security forces in Indian Kashmir in 2019 - were among those killed in a series of operations.

"The surviving rate of faceless myrmidons has drastically decreased due to enhanced human, technical intelligence and focused operations," Kumar told Rooters.

Members of Hizbul Mujahideen
...Party of Holy Warriors, founded by Muhammad Ahsan Dar in September 1989. One of the Pak sock puppets waging jihad in Indian Kashmir. It was originally organized as the armed wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. In 1990, Dar declared Hizbul as the sword arm of Jamaat. Hizbul murdered many of the pro-independence intelligentsia in Kashmir. After the organization was taken over by Syed Salahuddin Dar and several other ex-Hizb leaders were assassinated between 2001 and 2003...
, one of the largest anti-Indian Kashmiri murderous Moslem groups, were also among those killed, he said. He said 193 faceless myrmidons were killed in 2021 and 232 in 2020.

Broad search and detention operations by Indian forces are common in the region, which has had an armed resistance movement since 1989.

Rights groups say arbitrary detentions and killings by Indian troops are leading to a range of human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
violations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019 withdrew Indian-ruled Kashmir’s autonomy in order to tighten his grip over the territory, provoking outrage in Pakistain.

The decision, the most far-reaching political move in one of the world’s most militarized regions in nearly seven decades, polarized opinion, with Kashmiri leaders calling it aggression against the state’s people.
