Hamas, Hezbollah commanders killed in IDF strikes in Lebanon
[IsraelTimes] Early-morning strike kills top operations officer in Palestinian terror group, a day after attack eliminates senior logistics commander for Hezbollah

A Hamas

commander was killed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike

in the southern coastal Lebanese city of Sidon early Wednesday morning, the military said.

The Israel Defense Forces said the target, Khaled Ahmad al-Ahmad, served as chief of operations in the terror group’s western sector in Leb

Ahmad had advanced numerous attacks on Israeli civilians and troops during the war, the IDF said, adding that, "Recently, he worked to transfer weapons and to carry out terror attacks against the State of Israel."

The strike was carried out because "Ahmad’s activities posed a threat to the State of Israel and its citizens," the military added.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said an "enemy drone" hit a car in the Sidon’s Villas neighborhood, near the Imam Ali Mosque. Pictures showed a Renault on fire.

Hamas confirmed al-Ahmad’s death, saying he was a field commander.

The attack came a day after the IDF killed a Hezbollah commander in a dronezap in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon.

Tuesday’s strike killed Adnan Harb, who the military said headed Hezbollah’s logistics array in the terror group’s Badr regional division. The regional unit is tasked with the area north of the Litani River.

Strip on Wednesday killed dozens of Paleostinians, according to authorities in the Hamas

-run enclave, including reported strikes on a school that housed displaced families in Gaza City.

According to the Hamas health ministry, two IDF Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s early Wednesday hit the Karama School in Tuffah, a suburb of Gaza City, killing 15. Among those killed was a local journalist, Nour Abdu, Paleostinian media claimed.

Later in the day, an Israeli strike near a restaurant and market in the city killed at least 33 people, including women and kiddies, the reports said.

The corpse counts provided by Hamas, which do not differentiate between civilians and combatants, cannot be verified.

The IDF did not immediately comment, but generally says it targets Hamas terror infrastructure in the Strip, which is heavily embedded in the civilian population.

Rooters footage of the scene near the market showed maimed men being rushed away on the back of pickups and carts. Ambulances sped down shattered streets and a woman in tears carried a baby away from the scene, with two young children beside her.

Ahmed al-Saoudi said he witnessed the airstrike near the market. "People come to the market to get what they need if they can find it...Neither the people nor the animals were safe. Neither the young nor the old."

An image posted on social media showed what appeared to be a family of three — mother, father and son — lying dead on the street in pools of blood. The young boy was carrying a pink backpack. Rooters could not immediately verify the image that was purportedly from the scene near the restaurant.

SOLDIER SERIOUSLY WOUNDED IN COMBAT
Also on Wednesday, a soldier with the Golani Brigade’s reconnaissance unit was seriously maimed during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip, the military announced.

Another soldier of the Golani reconnaissance unit and two troops of the Oketz canine unit were moderately maimed in the same incident.

According to an initial IDF probe, the troops were hit by an bomb during operations in the Rafah area.

Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip stands at 414.

Union presses Norway wealth fund to divest from firms that aid Israel in West Bank, Gaza
[IsraelTimes] World’s largest sovereign wealth fund urged by Norwegian confederation of trade unions to pull investments from companies ‘that have activities in occupied Palestinian territories’

Norway’s $1.8 trillion wealth fund, the world’s largest, should divest from all companies that aid Israel in areas claimed by the Paleostinian for a future state, a leader at Norway’s powerful LO trade union told Rooters, intensifying an ongoing divestment campaign.

LO, the biggest confederation of trade unions in Norway, is aligned with the governing Labour Party and often exerts influence on policy beyond traditional workers’ rights issues.

"We want the fund to pull out of the companies that have activities in the occupied Paleostinian territories," Steinar Krogstad, deputy leader at LO, said in an interview.

LO’s general policy is that Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, the world’s largest, should not invest in companies that breach international law, Krogstad said.

"This question is more on the agenda now... because of Israel’s policy, attacks and war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. and in the West Bank," he said, speaking on the margins of the union’s congress, where the Paleostinian flag flew alongside those of the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
and Norway.

The Israeli embassy in Oslo did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

The United Nations General Assembly in September adopted a resolution calling for Israel to "end without delay its unlawful presence" in "Occupied Paleostinian Territory" and entirely pull out of Paleostinian areas within a year. The Israeli government rejected the resolution as "cynical international politics" that would encourage terrorism and harm the chances for peace.

Israel charged that the resolution ignores October 7 onslaught, when Paleostinian terror group Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
led a devastating cross-border attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and during which Lions of Islam kidnapped 251 people who were taken as hostages to Gaza.

Norway has been critical of Israel’s conduct throughout the military campaign aimed at toppling the Hamas regime in Gaza and freeing the hostages. In May last year, Norway, along with Spain and Ireland, formally recognized a Paleostinian state.

LO and 47 other civil society organizations sent Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg a letter, dated April 10 and seen by Rooters, to push for such a move.

The letter asks Stoltenberg — an LO member — to instruct the central bank, which operates the fund, to divest from companies "where there is an unacceptable risk of complicity in violating international law in the occupied Paleostinian territories."

It also asks Stoltenberg take the initiative to give more precise guidelines for the observation and exclusion of companies from the oil fund "in such a way that they are in accordance with international law."

Daily VG first reported on the letter.

Krogstad said LO would also request a meeting with Stoltenberg to discuss the issue. No date had yet been set, he said.

The finance ministry said the fund operates under ethical guidelines agreed on by parliament, with recommendations for divestments made by an ethical watchdog that is "professionally independent."

"We have a framework that works well and has broad support in parliament," Deputy Finance Minister Ellen Reitan told Rooters.

The fund has faced pressure to divest from companies active in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip since the start of the war in October 2023.

Since then, it has divested from Israeli telecom company Bezeq and another unnamed company is under consideration for exclusion by the central bank’s board.

Most other companies active in the West Bank territories have been cleared in a review by the fund’s ethical watchdog.

The fund held stocks worth 22 billion crowns ($2.12 billion) across 65 companies listed on the Tel Aviv stock Exchange as of the end of 2024, according to fund data. They represent 0.1% of the fund’s overall investments.

3 months into major Jenin operation, IDF signals gains as residents face ruin
[IsraelTimes] With over 100 terror operatives killed and hundreds arrested, Israel claims campaign improving security, as much of Jenin refugee camp remains decimated

More than three months into an Israeli military operation dubbed Operation Iron Wall, troops remain entrenched in the northern West Bank, with the Israel Defense Forces touting the extended counterterrorism campaign as an operational success.

The IDF initiated the operation in January, with some officials saying it would likely last just a few days. However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
it took troops some two weeks to secure control of the Jenin refugee camp, military officials told news hounds during a tour of Jenin on Wednesday.

Most of the Paleostinian civilians in the camp have evacuated, allowing Israeli troops to search and clear each individual building of infrastructure and weapons used by local terror groups. More than 40,000 Paleostinians have left their homes since the launch of Operation Iron Wall, according to Paleostinian refugee agency UNRWA.

Since the start of the operation, the military has reported killing over 100 terror operatives, arresting around 320 wanted suspects and seizing approximately 450 weapons in the northern West Bank.

In total, the IDF claims to have killed more than 700 Death Eaters in the northern West Bank, including 36 senior operatives from various terror groups, since the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. began on October 7, 2023, following Hamas
..always the voice of sweet reason...
’s invasion of southern Israel.

The military attributed the significant decline in terror attacks from the West Bank to these efforts. The last deadly attack occurred in January in the village of al-Funduq, where three people were killed and eight others were maimed.

Still, violence persists. On Wednesday evening, a shooting at Israeli troops at the Reihan checkpoint near Jenin left two injured, prompting the IDF to launch a manhunt for the perpetrators. Another attack took place in the southern West Bank, wounding another soldier.

The impact of the military’s efforts extends beyond the statistics. The effects of the IDF’s counterterrorism measures can also be felt on the ground, military officials said.

The commander of the Kfir Brigade’s Nahshon Battalion, Lt. Col. Yud — identified only by his first Hebrew initial due to security concerns — said that for the first time in his 15-year military career, he can enter Paleostinian towns and villages without facing stone-throwing or other forms of attack.

The goal of the operation, said the commander of the West Bank division, Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, "is to dismantle the entire system — from the roots — starting with achieving operational control over key strongholds, particularly Jenin."

"As a result of the operation, today we can operate anywhere, at any time, even in the heart of the camps," Dolf said.

The military’s ongoing operations have significantly damaged the infrastructure of the camp, which housed some 3,000 Paleostinian residents before the start of the counterterrorism operation. Once busy streets are now largely deserted, strewn with rubble and debris.

"We don’t demolish for the sake of demolishing," asserted the chief of operations in the IDF’s Menashe Regional Brigade, Maj. Alef, who also maintained anonymity for security reasons. He emphasized that the military only targets terrorist infrastructure and buildings deemed necessary to clear access routes for troops.

As part of these route-clearing efforts, the IDF said that in recent months it demolished roughly 100 buildings in Jenin, with an additional 100 in Tulkarem, to the southwest, and the adjacent Nur Shams camp.

Despite the devastation in the Jenin refugee camp, the city of Jenin remains a hub of daily civilian life. Its open-air market continues to operate, alongside functioning shops and schools throughout the city.

The IDF has yet to announce an official plan regarding what will happen to the Paleostinians who fled Jenin refugee camp in January, or when they will be allowed back to their homes. Many no longer have homes to return to.

The military has emphasized that its top priority is establishing security control over the West Bank to prevent future attacks originating from the area.

"We are conducting a systematic pursuit using intelligence to track down Death Eaters who fled the camp; we have a detailed tracking chart covering all routes," Dolf said.

The military believes that many Paleostinians involved in terror have become repeat offenders. It said that around 82% of those released in the 2011 Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange returned to terrorist activity — including Yahya Sinwar, the architect of Hamas’s October 7 attack, who was killed in Gaza late last year.

Similarly, officials claim that half of the Paleostinians freed in the November 2023 hostage deal with Hamas — which secured the release of 105 living hostages during a weeklong truce — have since reengaged in terrorism.

It remains unclear how many of the Paleostinian prisoners released as part of the most recent ceasefire deal in January, which secured the release of 33 hostages, have since resumed terrorist activity.

"Any terrorist who returns to terrorism will bear responsibility," Dolf vowed.

, northeast of Somalia, confirmed that the Federal State has, for the first time, procured four combat aircraft from an undisclosed foreign country, marking a significant step in its campaign to eliminate terrorist threats in the region.

According to the defense officials, the newly acquired warplanes will be deployed in support of ongoing and future operations aimed at dismantling turban groups operating in Puntland and surrounding areas.

"This is a historic moment for Puntland’s security sector," one senior officer said on condition of anonymity. "These aircraft will enhance our aerial capabilities and provide vital support to ground forces in the fight against terrorism."

The origin of the aircraft and specific model types were not disclosed, but sources close to the procurement say the deal was made discreetly through military cooperation agreements.

Puntland has been engaged in counterterrorism operations targeting both al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
and ISIS-linked fighters, particularly in remote areas like the Cal-Miskaad mountains and along the Gulf of Aden coast.

This development signals a growing intent by Puntland authorities to strengthen the Federal state's defense infrastructure as it faces the threat of ISIS and al-Shabaab in the mountains of the Bari region.

Officials did not specify when the aircraft would become operational, but military sources indicated training for air force personnel is already underway. Puntland has been battling against ISIS since December and has gained ground from the group in the Calmiskaad mountains.

Syria confirms backchannel dialogue with Israel on security matters
[IsraelTimes] Syrian president says talks aimed at ‘easing tensions’; report says they began in mid-April, centered on building confidence between Damascus and Jerusalem

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Wednesday confirmed that his country was currently taking part in indirect talks with Israel. Reports earlier in the day said that the United Arab Emirates had facilitated a backchannel for dialogue between Jerusalem and Damascus.

The talks were first reported by Rooters, citing three people familiar with the matter, who said that they were set up after al-Sharaa’s visit to the UAE on April 13, and are focused on security and intelligence matters and confidence-building between the two states, which have no official relations.

Sharaa said Wednesday that backchannel negotiations are aimed at "easing tensions and preventing the situation from spiraling out of control for all involved parties."

He added that "the Israeli intervention (military incursion into Syrian territory) constitutes a violation of the 1974 agreement" between Israel and Syria, and emphasized that since taking office, he has been committed to upholding this agreement.

Sharaa also stated that Syria is reaching out to any country with ties to Israel in an effort to pressure it to halt what he described as interventions and attacks in Syria.

He made the remarks during a presser following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Gay Paree. The visit marks the first trip by the Syrian president to Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
since he assumed office.

A Syrian security source described the effort to Rooters as currently focused on "technical matters," and said there was no limit to what may eventually be discussed.

The senior Syrian security source said the backchannel was limited strictly to security-related issues, focusing on several counterterrorism files.

The source said that purely military matters, particularly those concerning Israeli army activities in Syria, fell outside the scope of the current channel.

The intelligence source said UAE security officials, Syrian intelligence officials and former Israeli intelligence officials were involved in the mechanism, among others.

They spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation.

The UAE foreign ministry did not respond to a request for comment. The Israeli prime minister’s office declined to comment.

The mediation effort preceded Israeli strikes in Syria last week, including one just 500 yards from the presidential palace in Damascus, and Rooters could not establish if the mechanism has been used since the strikes occurred.

Israel has framed the strikes as a message to Syria’s new rulers in response to threats against Syria’s Druze, a minority sect that is an offshoot of Islam with adherents in Syria, Leb

and Israel.

Informal mediation between Israel and Syria aimed at calming the situation has taken place in the last week via other channels, according to one of the sources and a regional diplomat. They declined to elaborate.

Syria’s government has condemned Israel’s strikes as escalatory and as foreign interference, and says the new government in Damascus is working to unify the country after 14 years of civil war.

The new rulers have also made efforts to show they pose no threat to Israel, meeting representatives of the Jewish community in Damascus and abroad and recently detaining two senior members of Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

A letter sent by Syria’s foreign ministry to the US State Department last month, seen by Rooters, said, "We will not allow Syria to become a source of threat to any party, including Israel."

Israel has treated such claims with intense suspicion, due to the new leadership’s roots in Islamism and jihadism.

Puntland Denies UAE Installed Radar Systems in Bosaso for Strikes on Sudan, Yemen
[Garowe] The Minister of Information of Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
, Mohamud Aideed Dirir, has firmly denied recent reports alleging that the United Arab Emirates has installed radar systems in the coastal city of Bosaso to launch military strikes on Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. and Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the minister dismissed the claims as "fabricated propaganda" pushed by what he described as hostile actors opposed to Puntland’s stability and progress in the war against terrorism.

"Countries like The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
, Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
, and some entities masquerading as international media outlets are behind these baseless allegations," said Minister Dirir. "They cannot accept the fact that Puntland has defeated terrorist groups which Turkey itself has fought for years without success."

The minister's comments come in response to widespread speculation and unverified reports on social media suggesting the UAE may be using Bosaso as a launch base for military operations beyond Somalia’s borders — claims that have not been substantiated by any independent sources.

The UAE has a known security and economic presence in Puntland, particularly in maritime operations through its long-standing support for anti-piracy efforts and port development in Bosaso. The UAE, however, did not comment on the claims of radar installations in Puntland.

The DOJ said that Tarek Bazrouk, 20, "deliberately targeted and assaulted Jewish victims at protests relating to the Israel/Gaza war." Bazrouk was arrested on Wednesday morning.

Bazrouk’s case appears to be the first time the DOJ has brought federal hate crime charges related to the recent Columbia protests. A DOJ spokesperson could not confirm that information.

The assaults allegedly all took place in Manhattan, at an April 2024 protest outside the New York Stock Exchange, a December 2024 protest outside Columbia University, and a January 2025 protest near Gramercy Park.

Bazrouk allegedly punched two of the Jewish victims in the face and kicked another in the stomach, according to court documents filed on Wednesday. Bazrouk also stole an Israeli flag from pro-Israel protesters at the Columbia University protest, according to the Justice Department.

The DOJ said that Bazrouk showed support for Hamas
..always the voice of sweet reason...
and called himself a "Jew hater" in text messages obtained from a search of his cell phone.

Bazrouk is charged with three counts of committing hate crimes, each of which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, according to DOJ.

An attorney for Bazrouk could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Jerusalem Post has more about his actions resulting in arrest for those three instances of assault and battery, and Mr. Bazrouk’s pride that some of his relatives back home are members of Hamas.

3 soldiers wounded, 2 seriously, in West Bank attacks
[IsraelTimes] Two reservists come under fire close to Reihan checkpoint; moments later, Palestinian rams car and stabs soldiers near Hebron

Three Israeli soldiers were maimed in attacks carried out by Paleostinians in the northern and southern West Bank on Wednesday afternoon, the military said.

In the first incident, a Paleostinian gunman opened fire on troops in a vehicle while they were operating near the Reihan checkpoint in the northern West Bank.

The Israel Defense Forces said two reservists were seriously maimed in the attack.

The pair were airlifted to Rambam Hospital in Haifa for treatment.

The IDF said it launched a manhunt for the assailant.

Shortly after the shooting, a Paleostinian rammed his car into a military post at a junction near the southern West Bank city of Hebron. The assailant got out of his car and stabbed one of the soldiers before being shot, the military said.

An officer was moderately maimed. He was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

The assailant was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba at death's door, according to first responders.

Since late January, the IDF has been carrying out a major offensive in the northern West Bank, dubbed Operation Iron Wall, focusing mainly on the areas of Jenin and Tulkarem.

The offensive followed a spike in West Bank violence since October 7, 2023. Since the Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
onslaught, troops have arrested some 6,000 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 2,350 affiliated with Hamas.

According to the Paleostinian Authority health ministry, more than 950 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time. The IDF says the vast majority of them were button men killed in exchanges of fire, rioters who clashed with troops, or murderous Moslems carrying out attacks.

During the same period, 51 people, including Israeli security personnel, have been killed in terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Another eight members of the security forces were killed in festivities with terror operatives in the West Bank.

Security forces arrest suspect in yesterday’s West Bank shooting attack

[IsraelTimes] Overnight, Israeli security forces detained a Palestinian suspected of carrying out yesterday’s shooting attack near the Reihan checkpoint in the northern West Bank that seriously wounded two reservists, according to the military.

The suspect was arrested in the nearby village of Barta’a, Palestinian media reports.

Afghanistan
Taliban Earning Billions, Giving American Weaponry to Terrorist Groups as Afghanistan Once Again Becomes Jihadi Hotbed: Report
[Free Beacon] The Taliban took in $3.4 billion in revenue over the last year,
…how much from international donations versus sales of opium derivatives and American weapons?
boosting its cash supply by 14 percent amid the return of Afghanistan as a central safe haven for terrorist organizations across the Middle East, according to a U.S. government watchdog group.

The repercussions of the Biden administration’s disastrous 2021 military withdrawal from Afghanistan continue to reverberate across the war-torn country, with multiple al Qaeda affiliates accessing American-supplied "weapons seized from the former Afghan National Army," according to a new oversight report by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR).

The United States left 78 aircraft, 40,000 military vehicles, and over 300,000 weapons in Afghanistan in a withdrawal that saw 13 American service members lose their lives. According to the SIGAR report—which the watchdog group delivered to Congress on April 30—the Taliban transferred many of these arms directly to terrorist affiliates, while others made their way to the black market.

The Pentagon assesses that of around $18.6 billion worth of U.S. equipment provided to the Afghan Army over decades of support, $7.12 billion in weaponry remains in the Taliban’s possession. As a result, "terrorist groups continued to operate in and from Afghanistan amid ongoing U.S., UN, and regional concerns that the country remains a terrorist haven."

More than two dozen terrorist organizations are currently active in Afghanistan, including the Islamic State-affiliated Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). At least four al Qaeda offshoots are also using the country to organize operations. "Terrorist groups," SIGAR reported, "continued to use Afghan soil to train and plan attacks and a ’small but steady’ flow of foreign terrorists continued to travel to Afghanistan and join one of over two dozen terror groups based there."

#3  The Taliban has both protected and banned opium production, alternating depending on their own needs — whether they need more money or to placate the outside world. Last I recall, they had several years’ worth in storage, so they banned more planting. And who knows — the border wall Iran is currently building may prove to be impervious to narco bribes as well as Afghan refugees.

Africa Subsaharan
America Must Stop Funding South Africa's Discriminatory University
[Townhall] There’s a university where Hamas, Hezbollah, and Houthi leaders are welcome — but Israeli academics are not. This particular ivory tower is also the largest recipient of U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) money outside the United States. Welcome to South Africa’s University of Cape Town (UCT).
The funding of a 'white' genocide appears to be once again permissible. But let's not talk about it, shall we ?
The NIH announced on April 21 that it would no longer provide awards to domestic recipients that engage in discriminatory boycotts against Israel. The NIH should swiftly extend this directive to apply to foreign recipients like the University of Cape Town.

U.S. taxpayers provide $350 million annually to South Africa for medical research — 70 percent of the country’s total yearly spending for the cause. A leaked March 2025 NIH memo listed South Africa and China as "countries of concern" poised for funding cuts.
Good.
The university’s extremism dates back years. In March 2023, just months before Hamas’s October 7 atrocities against Israel, the student group UCT Palestinian Solidarity Forum (PSF) welcomed representatives from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad as well as Hezbollah spokesperson Ibrahim al-Mousawi via video conference.
A Marxist - Islamic Jihad reality the West was instrumental in creating. The final blow came in 1995. Jy oes wat jy saai (You reap what you sow).
Promoting another al-Mousawi event in September 2023, PSF announced, "A video message will be recorded by the participants that will be sent directly to the Palestinian resistance Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad! Come out and show South Africa’s support for the mujahedeen in Palestine!" PSF hosted al-Mousawi again in March 2024, this time alongside a Houthi representative, via Zoom.

‘Tasteless': NYC Tears Down Statue Of Thomas Jefferson, Erects 12-foot Statue of 'Overweight Black Woman
[Redstate] New York City previously tore down a historic Thomas Jefferson statue only to now erect a 12-foot bronze statue of an "overweight black woman," which many blasted as "tasteless" and more.

The statue is called "Grounded in the Stars" and was unveiled on Wednesday in Times Square, created by artist Thomas J. Price. The artist's "Man Series," a stop motion animation, will also appear nightly throughout May on the district’s billboards, providing a "two-part takeover" in the district that "amplifies traditionally marginalized bodies on a monumental scale," per the Times Square website.

Price said, per the Times Square site.
Lord Garth gives us a tweet about it, commenting:

Antarctica discovery sends climate change deniers into mass celebration
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Scientists have made a shocking discovery in Antarctica that has climate change deniers claiming there's now proof global warming is just a hoax.

Researchers from Tongji University in Shanghai found the frozen continent suddenly reversed its decades-long trend of catastrophic melting and actually gained record amounts of ice in recent years.

Although the Antarctic Ice Sheet had been losing ice at an alarming rate for nearly two decades, between 2002 and 2020, that trend sharply changed in 2021.

From 2021 through 2023, the study found unusually 'intense snowfall' in Antarctica helped build up layers of fresh ice, an event that also caused sea level rise to slow as well.

The world's sea levels have been growing in height as ocean temperatures rise and more glaciers melt due to global warming, threatening to flood major coastal cities worldwide.

Overall, scientists found that this three-year climate reversal cut the annual rise in global sea level rise by nearly 15 percent, a significant difference.

Before this recent change in Antarctica, the study calculated that the ice sheet lost about 120 billion tons of ice per year over the previous two decades. Between 2021 and 2023, the continent gained roughly 108 billion tons of ice each year.

While the researchers noted that the surprising results only reflect a temporary change in Antarctica's weather patterns that could eventually change back, climate change skeptics quickly pounced on the findings on social media.

The scientists who made the discovery found that, between 2021 and 2023, abnormal weather patterns brought more moisture to the continent, especially the Eastern half of Antarctica.

These patterns were likely caused by shifts in winds or storms, possibly influenced by climate changes, but the study authors made sure to note that this change was an 'unprecedented' event.

Despite the historic gains in ice growth throughout Antarctica from 2021 to 2023, the study revealed that the continent suffered a net loss of 1.848 trillion tons of ice over the last two decades.

This ice loss added about 5.99 millimeters (roughly a quarter of an inch) to global sea levels by February 2020.

The connection between snow melting and sea level rise has real consequences. Rising sea levels can flood coastal cities, erode beaches, and harm ecosystems.

Recent studies have argued that climate change is the major driving factor for flooding problems in major cities like New Orleans, which is now sinking as that entire Gulf Coast area erodes.

In fact, climate scientists have warned that the rising sea levels triggered by melting Antarctic glaciers has now put over two dozen cities at higher risk of sinking over the next three decades.

Despite the evidence that climate change is doing widespread damage, a University of Cambridge professor said skeptics still have a valid argument about so-called 'climate alarmists.'

Mike Hulme told DailyMail.com that climate alarmists have created so much distrust and ill will among the public by blaming almost all of society's issues on the climate emergency.

The 'inevitable' US disasters that keep scientists up at night

'Climate change is cited as the sole explanation for everything going wrong in the world. Drought, famine, flooding, wars, racism – you name it. And if it's bad, it's down to global warming caused by humans,' Professor Hulme said.

'I disagree with the doom-mongers. Climate change is not like a comet approaching Earth. There is no good scientific or historical evidence that it will lead to human extinction or the collapse of human civilization,' the professor of human geography added.

To Hulme's point, the new study revealed a much more complicated picture of what's happening at the South Pole.

While this study and others have uncovered trends linked to climate change, such as ice melting speeding up and oceans becoming hotter, the same research can find wild swings where temperatures drop and appear to debunk those trends.

From 2021 through 2023, scientists said the main reason Antarctica was able to rebuild so much of its ice was because of 'large precipitation anomalies' - or massive snow totals that can't be counted on year after year.

Just like in other regions that get snow throughout the world, blizzards don't strike every single year like clockwork, which is why the scientists believe this reversal may be a temporary event.

While climate deniers are taking a victory lap right now, the study published in Science China Earth Sciences still showed a concerning trend developing throughout the 21st century.

Indian strikes martyr student, her brother and army officer's 7-year-old son in AJK
[GEO.TV] Three youngsters — a university student, her younger brother, and the 7-year-old son of a Pakistan Army officer — were martyred in Indian missile attacks on civilian areas in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), security officials said Wednesday.

In a devastating response to Indian aggression, Pakistan armed forces shot down five Indian Air Force (IAF) jets, a combat drone, and destroyed a brigade headquarters, including several checkposts, after New Delhi carried out missile strikes.

India's attacks on different cities in Pakistan resulted in the martyrdom of 31 innocent civilians, while 57 others have sustained injuries, according to DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.

In Kotli, a missile strike destroyed a house next to Abbas Mosque, martyring 22-year-old Misbah Kausar, a BS student at the University of Kotli, and her little brother, Umar Musa. Their funerals were held in the Nakyal sector.

In a separate attack, seven-year-old Irtiza Abbas Turi, son of Lt Col Zaheer Abbas, was martyred during a strike in the Dwarandi area of Azad Kashmir on the night of May 6—7.

The funeral prayer for Irtaza was solemnly held in Islamabad, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) handout.

The ceremony was attended by several high-profile dignitaries. These included the Honourable President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar; Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif; and the Information Minister.

From the military leadership, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf attended the funeral.

Ceasefire in Ukraine comes into force on the night of May 7-8 - the 1168th day of the SMO
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] A 72-hour ceasefire was declared by President Vladimir Putin in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. As in the case of the announcement of the Easter ceasefire, the Russian side, guided by humanitarian considerations, invited the Ukrainian side to follow this example. But the Kiev authorities refused.

Moreover, Volodymyr Zelensky hinted on television on April 29 that he wanted to strike at the Victory Parade in Moscow on May 9. To which the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova noted: the words of the head of the Kiev regime are further proof that it is he “and his extremist pack who are undermining peace efforts.” This news marked the new, 1168th day of the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine.

The ceasefire, which will be in effect from 0:00 Moscow time on May 8 until 0:00 Moscow time on May 11, was announced on April 28 by the Kremlin's Telegram channel.

Later, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the aim of the Russian-proposed ceasefire was to test Kiev's readiness to find ways to sustainable peace.

At the same time, in the event of a violation of the ceasefire by the Kiev authorities, the Russian Armed Forces will provide an adequate and effective response.

China-Japan-Koreas
China Threatens 'All Necessary Steps' to Punish CIA for Defections
[Breitbart] The Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned the CIA on Tuesday for publishing videos urging Communist Party officials to defect and work with America, threatening to “take all necessary steps” to stop American intelligence operations against Beijing.

The Foreign Ministry was responding to a the CIA publishing a video on the social media site Twitter last week encouraging Chinese government officials, in Mandarin, to consider working with American intelligence. The video suggests to Chinese officials that loyalty to the Communist Party does not keep them safe from genocidal dictator Xi Jinping’s many purges of potential rivals or dissenting voices and that working with the CIA could help them protect their families.

The video invited Chinese officials to work with the CIA in “creating a better future” for the world and their families, highlighting the fictional story of a Communist Party officials who finds that securing a high rank was “insufficient to protect his family in these turbulent and unsettling times.”

“My purpose remains the same. Only my path has changed. No matter what my fate may bring, my family will know a good life,” one fictionalized defector says.

Another adds: “The party raised us to believe that our dedication to the path they lead us on would bring prosperity to us all. But the gains of our collective efforts are indulged by a select few. So, I must forge my own path.”

The CIA published the video on May 1, a communist holiday known as “International Workers’ Day.”

The success of these recruitment efforts remains to be seen, though one anonymous CIA official told Reuters last week, “if it weren’t working, we wouldn’t be making more videos.”

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian expressed great offense at the video when asked to common on Tuesday, the first day following the end of China’s week-long May Day communist celebrations.

“The U.S. has long been using all kinds of despicable methods to steal other countries’ secrets, interfere in their internal affairs and commit subversion,” Lin declared. “Such behavior severely violates international law and basic norms governing international relations, and seriously endangers international security and stability.”

“The U.S. not only maliciously smears and attacks China, but also blatantly attempts to lure Chinese personnel, even government officials, to be their informants,” he continued. “This is a serious infringement on China’s national interest and pure political provocation. China strongly condemns it.”

Lin concluded that China would “take all measures necessary to resolutely push back infiltration and sabotage activities from overseas and defend national sovereignty, security and development interest.”

The Chinese Foreign Ministry, naturally, did not address the extensive recent evidence of covert Chinese espionage globally, and in America in particular, when condemning overt efforts by the CIA. From establishing illegal secret police stations in a large number of foreign capitals to infiltrating sensitive American sites, Beijing is one of the world’s most active and aggressive intelligence-gathering states.

In 2023, American officials revealed that they had uncovered over 100 attempts by Chinese nationals to enter sensitive American sites, including missiles ranges and the Kennedy Space Center. Chinese nationals were also identified suspiciously scuba diving near military sites in Florida, reports at the time indicated.

That say year, the Department of Justice arrested two Chinese nationals, and accused dozens of others, of establishing a secret police branch in New York City.

“This prosecution reveals the Chinese government’s flagrant violation of our nation’s sovereignty by establishing a secret police station in the middle of New York City,” U.S. Attorney Breon Peace denounced at the time. Human rights researchers found evidence of similar illegal police operations by the Chinese Communist Party throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.

More recently, in April, Chinese national Ming Xi Zhang was convicted after being arrested by ICE agents in Newark, New Jersey, of illegally acting as a Chinese foreign agent.

Beijing’s complaints about the CIA video follow a turbulent beginning of the year for U.S.-Chinese relations, as President Donald Trump has initiated a process to rethink America’s trade relationship with the world. As part of that initiative, Trump imposed tariffs on nearly every trade partner, requesting talks to agree to deals more favorable to the American people. According to the White House, China is the lone holdout refusing to negotiate, resulting in China facing a 145-percent tariff on exports to America.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian insisted on Monday that China would continue to “fight” America’s attempts to defend its industries.

“There are no winners in tariff and trade wars, and if the US side really wants to solve the problem through dialogue and negotiation, it should stop threatening and pressuring,” Lin asserted, “and engage in dialogue with China on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit.”

Chinese dictator Xi Jinping is expected to travel to Moscow, Russia, on Wednesday to attend ceremonies celebrating the end of World War II and for private discussions with strongman Vladimir Putin, one of China’s closest allies. While Chinese state media has not named the U.S. tariffs as a topic of discussion, the two are expected to discuss their joint response to the Trump administration’s attempts to create a fairer trade environment and to end Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, which China has supported despite its previously friendly relations with Kyiv.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Not a girl, but a 'fruit platter.' Why do the Epstein defendants die?
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Olga Kuznetsova

[REGNUM] In the last days of April, those who are commonly called conspiracy theorists once again had a reason to worry.

On the 25th, 41-year-old Virginia Giuffre was found dead - the one who is commonly called the first and key witness in the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein and socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who provided sex services to the powerful.

It was Virginia who first threw off the veil of anonymity and directly accused both Epstein and several celebrities - including Britain's Prince Andrew - of sexually exploiting minors and described in detail what had happened to her.

In essence, Giuffre has condemned herself in advance to a bloody legal battle with her former offenders, the American media, and Western justice.

This is quite a serious step that requires courage, a strong character and fighting endurance. And it is even stranger that Virginia's own family calls her death a suicide, and law enforcement officials do not see any criminal motive in the incident.

ORGANIZERS AND CLIENTS
At the age of seven, Giuffre was molested by a close friend of her parents, later the girl was placed in foster families, she ran away from home, at 14 she lived on the streets, was repeatedly subjected to physical violence, and at one point even spent six months with an elderly sex trafficker.

And against the backdrop of such a life, she, working at a resort in Mar-a-Lago, met people who offered her to earn two hundred dollars a day from just one client instead of nine dollars a day. At first, just doing massages, and then not only massages.

According to Giuffre herself, one can conclude that she understood from the very beginning what the matchmakers wanted from her. She just decided that she could not refuse because of her life and financial situation.

The story unfolded in a way that was quite predictable for this “industry.” Ghislaine Maxwell sought out the right girls, persuaded them to cooperate, and, together with Epstein, taught them “how to properly handle wealthy clients.”

Epstein himself "tried out" girls together with his friends, and then rented them out to influential people for a while. One of Giuffre's "clients" was the younger brother of the current British king, Prince Andrew.

"They passed me around like a fruit platter," Giuffre said, describing her "work" for Epstein and Maxwell.

Several years later, Virginia, having lost most of her illusions, entered a massage school in Thailand, where she met her future husband and subsequently gave birth to three children.

In 2009, Giuffre filed her first lawsuit, against Maxwell, accusing the socialite of engaging in sex trafficking. Giuffre kept her name anonymous, appearing in the documents as " Jane Doe 102."

The lawsuit prompted several similar lawsuits from other victims — all of whom were satisfied with undisclosed compensation awards. In January 2022, it was reported that Giuffre had received about $500,000 in compensation.

However, after the birth of her daughter in 2010, Virginia decided that she could no longer remain anonymous.

In 2011, she gave her first scandalous interview, to which she attached a photograph of herself standing hugging Prince Andrew at Maxwell's house in Belgravia.

In 2014, Giuffre founded a nonprofit organization that brings together survivors of sexual exploitation and abuse.

In 2021, she filed a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew. Giuffre denied the claims, but the following year the parties reached an out-of-court settlement that included a significant donation from the royal to a nonprofit headed by Giuffre.

Virginia's allegations led to Prince Andrew being suspended from his royal duties and charities, and reportedly being banished from Buckingham Palace.

CIRCUMSTANCES OF DEATH
In early April this year, Virginia Giuffre came forward with a statement that she had been in a car accident that left her with kidney failure, and doctors had "given her four days to live" and transferred her to a special urology hospital. Giuffre also posted a photo of herself with a bruised face.

A little later, authorities in Australia, where the car crash occurred, reported that they had no reports of casualties as a result of the incident.

Police, however, shared information that a "minor" collision between a car and a school bus occurred on March 24. The car was damaged, Virginia herself is in hospital, her life is not in danger.

The Giuffre family did not provide details, saying only that the mother of the family published the data thinking she was doing it for her personal page on a social network.

Then the media featured mutually exclusive stories: Virginia got worse, then everything was fine, then her condition was again stable and serious. Along the way, it turned out that the woman had previously accused her husband of domestic violence and before her death had fought for custody of the children.

On April 25, the world media was abuzz with news that Giuffre had been found dead. Given the notoriety of the deceased, the department specializing in the investigation of particularly serious crimes was immediately brought into the case.

However, investigators did not have any suspicions about Virginia's death in the first hours after examining the body. Her father expressed doubts that his daughter had committed suicide, and her lawyer publicly made it clear that "not everything is so clear-cut in the case."

However, a little later, Virginia Giuffre's family acknowledged the non-violence of her death, and also expressed regret that someone who "was a fighter all her life" still could not bear the burden of violence inflicted on her.

The lawyer, who until recently doubted that her client had committed suicide, began giving interviews in the style of “everyone misunderstood me,” and she says she doesn’t see anything suspicious in what happened, doesn’t criticize the police, doesn’t interfere in the personal affairs of the Giuffre family, and doesn’t advise others to do so.

DIARIES OF THE DECEASED
However, the brand that Virginia Giuffre's name has become will live on. Her brother and sister-in-law have announced their desire to continue the deceased's work and plan to advocate for the victims of Epstein and Maxwell.

They did this by “accidentally leafing through” the deceased’s diaries and finding there many “words of support for the victims.”

Apparently, one should not be surprised if the recordings also contain circumstances of her “interaction” with Epstein and Co. that were not voiced by the deceased herself.

A SERIES OF SUICIDES
The history of Jeffrey Epstein's crimes has long attracted attention due to the mysterious suicides of key participants in the criminal process.

Epstein himself - according to the official version - committed suicide while in prison, just at the moment of questioning about the most interesting thing about his work - the list of clients.

It is worth recognizing that people like Epstein die “just like that” extremely rarely, and rumors about “difficult deaths in this case” have some basis.

In May 2023, Caroline Andriano, who also came forward with allegations against Ghislaine Maxwell and Epstein, who raped her when she was 14, died of a drug overdose.

Even earlier, in 2017, another victim of Epstein, Lee Sky Patrick, also died from drug use.

In both cases, the deaths were ruled the result of accidental drug overdoses, which both girls were heavily addicted to "trying to forget the stress of the violence they had experienced."

American criminologists and psychologists do not see anything suspicious in such situations, since crimes against sexual inviolability can seriously damage the psyche and cause “worse things.”

But what to make of the fact that one of Epstein's accomplices, modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, committed suicide in Paris's Sante prison in 2022?

THERE WAS NO SENSATION
When he took office, US President Donald Trump promised not only to reveal secrets about the assassination of John F. Kennedy, 9/11, or UFOs. He also guaranteed to tell the public what the FBI covered up in the Jeffrey Epstein case.

In February, US Attorney General Pam Bondi declassified the first batch of documents, which included copies of Epstein's private jet logbooks, a list of 254 "masseuses," and an address book.

The case also included a list of 150 pieces of evidence, including sex toys, massage tables, nude paintings and the like.

However, journalists immediately realized that all these lists and logbooks in one form or another had been circulating on the Internet for several years. There was no sensation.

The Prosecutor General's Office stated that so far they have only been able to obtain 200 pages on this criminal case, but they do not intend to stop and will continue to put pressure on the FBI.

Of course, we can wait a little longer, but there is an opinion that the public will not receive any “extra” information even under Trump. And all the inconvenient characters – victims, criminals, and investigators – will gradually be taken out of the game.

Some will (or have) gone into honorable retirement, and some will go to the next world. The American political machine will never shoot itself in the foot by telling truly inconvenient facts.

Well, is this the first time?

World Central Kitchen says it is forced to halt aid operations in Gaza
[IsraelTimes] The US-based World Central Kitchen charity says it has halted work in the Gaza Strip, saying it has run out of supplies and has been prevented by Israel from bringing in aid.
Betcha if they asked their Hamas-linked current and former employees to help, they’d get access to the supplies in the overstuffed Hamas warehouses…
“After serving more than 130 million total meals and 26 million loaves of bread over the past 18 months, World Central Kitchen no longer has the supplies to cook meals or bake bread in Gaza,” it says on Wednesday in a post on X.

Israel has faced growing international pressure to lift an aid blockade that it imposed in March after the collapse of a ceasefire deal. Israel has accused agencies, including the United Nations, of allowing large quantities of aid to fall into the hands of Hamas, which seizes supplies intended for civilians for its own forces.

World Central Kitchen was founded by celebrity chef José Andrés. An April 2024 Israeli strike on a World Central Kitchen convoy killed seven aid workers, for which the IDF apologized.

Raging Cartel Violence Forces Mexican Universities to Close Doors
[Breitbart] Universities in western Mexico were forced to close their doors due to the raging cartel violence in Sinaloa, which led to hundreds of murders, hundreds of forced disappearances, arson attacks, and other acts of violence. The schools are forced to offer remote classes despite the many claims made by Mexican government officials that security is improving in the region.
At least there is still a pathway for education there — for those who have internet access and devices, anyway.
This week, El Debate reported that the Sinaloa Autonomous University (UAS) and the Occidental Autonomous University (UAO) announced that they were temporarily closing their doors following a recent spike in violence throughout the state. Both schools claimed in their prepared statements that they were only looking out for the safety of their students and community.

El Debate reported that several local schools in municipalities, such as El Dorado, followed the universities’ example.

The temporary closings follow a series of shootouts and targeted killings between rival factions of the Sinaloa Cartel. While Mexico’s government has been trying to downplay the raging violence in Sinaloa for over a year, residents have lived in fear as cartel violence has spread to levels not seen in that region.

Breitbart Texas reported last year that two main factions known as Los Chapitos and Los Mayos have been waging a fierce turf war since Los Chapitos set up a trap that led to the arrest of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, who is currently awaiting trial in a U.S. Court.

The raging violence led to calls for the resignation of Sinaloa Governor Ruben Rocha Moya, who has repeatedly denied or downplayed the levels of violence in the region. The governor has also been publicly accused of having helped set up the meeting between El Mayo and Los Chapitos — a claim he denied.

Arabia
The US has given in to the Houthis
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.

If Trump's intent was to keep the sea lanes open and shipping free from attack by the Houthis, I frankly don't see this as an L for the US.

[ColonelCassad] Yesterday, the US effectively pulled out of the Yemen war by concluding a separate agreement with the Houthis.

The US will stop bombing Yemen, and the Houthis will stop attacking US ships and vessels in the Red Sea and off the coast of Yemen. Which they started doing after the US attacks on Yemen. At the same time, the Houthis retain the freedom to strike Israel and ships heading to Israel. Which is what they did before the US attack on Yemen. Yesterday, Israel went into hysterics about this, saying that Trump didn’t warn anyone and pulled out of the Yemen war, while missiles and drones from Yemen continue to hit Israel.

In fact, the US has not achieved anything significant. The total losses for the entire campaign, started by Biden, amounted to 2 F/A-18, 1 MQ-1 Gray Eagle and 22 MQ-9 Reapers, not counting everything else, including the supposedly damaged aircraft carrier.

The Houthis continued to pound Israel at the beginning of the war, and they continue to do so. And they will continue to do so. Today, the Houthi command once again announced that having dealt with the American aggressors, they will continue to support the Palestinians and strike the Zionists in order to strengthen the naval and air blockade of Israel. The bombing of the US and the Zionists does not scare them.

In general, the US under Trump decided to intensify the half-extinguished war, spent a lot of money on strikes, did not achieve any of the strategic goals and shamefully merged. The idea of organizing a land invasion of Yemen also failed - the Saudis flatly refused. They remember how their Houthis got drones at one time. And without the Saudis, the Emiratis alone will not be able to survive a new round of ground war. Even with the support of Israeli and US air forces, there is no guarantee that the Emiratis and the forces of the Southern Transitional Council under their control will be able to take Hodeida, which they have already broken their teeth on before.

In general, the Houthis confidently won this round of the US war and significantly increased their military and political prestige, once again showing that at the current stage they are the most sensible of the Arabs in terms of military affairs. The bet on an asymmetric war against a superior enemy in the form of the US, Britain and Israel has fully justified itself. Well, Trump has de facto lost face, although now he is trying to boast of "successes" in the form of agreements with the Houthis not to shoot at American aircraft carriers. Now that's a victory, so be it.

In March, by the way, it was 10 years since the beginning of the Yemen war, which continues with short pauses to this day.

This war perfectly shows that it is practically impossible to win a war with aviation and missiles alone - wars in the overwhelming majority of cases are won on the ground. And in the case of the Houthis - there are not very many who want to fight them in the Yemeni mountains.

So the honored Fremen of the Middle East have bent over the greedy Baron Donald Harkonnen.
Donald Harkonnen is a partial reference to a character in the Dune sci-fi series.
The character is murderous, corrupt, decadent — utterly vile in in every possible way. Interesting, though, that in the Russian translation the name is Donald; in the original English, written during the Cold War, the Baron’s name is Vladimir.
Rozhin, being the Stalinist that he is, isn't too fond of Donald Trump, so he substituted an incorrect given name with Donald.
Ah. How very clever of him.

Second US fighter jet crashes from aircraft carrier in Red Sea

Another US Navy fighter jet has fallen from the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea. This was reported by CNN citing informed sources.

The incident was likely caused by a malfunction in the braking system during the landing of the F/A-18 Super Hornet on the aircraft carrier.

According to the channel's source, the pilot and officer managed to eject. They received only minor injuries. A rescue helicopter lifted them aboard the aircraft carrier. The sunken fighter has not yet been found.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: May 7, 2025
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 21.38 US President Donald Trump believes that it is time to "make a decision" about the war in Ukraine, and he is not happy about it. The head of the American state stated this during a conversation with journalists in the White House.

20.43 Ukraine is ready for peace talks after a complete ceasefire, and some issues will have to be discussed with Russia. This was stated by the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak in an interview with the German Die Zeit, which he quoted on his Telegram channel.

20.23 The complete restoration of the protective structure over the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant after the Russian shelling will require more than 25 million euros.

American engineer Eric Schmiman, who worked on the arch project for over 15 years, emphasized that the structure was designed for 100 years of operation, but after the impact it became vulnerable to corrosion and the elements. He noted that repairs are complicated by high radiation levels, and the cost of the work could be hundreds of millions.

Schmiman also suggested that the best option would be to move the shelter 180 meters to reduce the radiation load on workers.

19.47 On May 7, Russian troops launched further attacks on populated areas in the Donetsk region, as a result of which a woman was killed and eight others were injured.

According to his data, enemy artillery wounded seven people in Mirnohrad. While the Russians dropped three aerial bombs on Ilyinovka.

The head of the OVA called on residents to leave the region.

19.19 Border guards detained a 26-year-old resident of Lviv region who tried to illegally cross the border with Moldova dressed in women's clothing.

But the "disguise" didn't work - the border guards exposed him behind his stubble and masculine facial features.

18.09 French President Emmanuel Macron believes that it is important for Ukraine's security not to publicly disclose details of the volumes and types of weapons that partners are transferring. He stated this at a joint briefing with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Paris, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, such “strategic uncertainty” is an additional protection for the Ukrainians themselves.

18.06 US Vice President J.D. Vance remains optimistic about the possibility of ending the war between Ukraine and Russia, but right now the Russian side is "asking for too much." He said this in an interview during an event at the Munich Security Conference in Washington.

17:52 In the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region, Russian invaders are forcing schoolchildren, students and government workers to watch the broadcast of the parade in Moscow.

In schools, it is mandatory viewing for elementary grades.

"The Kremlin's propaganda hides thefts, destroyed homes and lost freedom behind myths about the 'greatness of the empire,'" the Central Neural Network noted.

17.00 The man who aimed Russian UABs at the defenders of Kharkov received 15 years in prison. A local mobilized soldier, who was remotely recruited by the occupiers in August 2024, was sentenced.

At the request of the Russian GRU, he was supposed to adjust an air strike on the unit he served in. In exchange for coordinates for the fire strike, Russian military intelligence promised to "evacuate" the agent to the aggressor country.

16.22 One of the two power lines of the Zaporizhzhya NPP occupied by Russia has been de-energized again. Currently, the power supply for the Zaporizhzhya NPP's own needs is carried out through one line, which is a violation of nuclear safety requirements.

15.50 Russian troops have struck the village of Aleksandro-Kalinovo in the Ilyinovka community of Donetsk Oblast. This was reported by the head of the OVA Vadim Filashkin on Facebook.

"This morning, the Russians dropped two aerial bombs on the village, killing two women, aged 47 and 67. Six private houses were damaged," he said.

15.25 Russian drones attacked the Kiev region. Four people who were near a store in the Fastiv district were injured. Among them, an underage girl, a woman and two men.

14:47 Combat units of the National Guard received modern armored vehicles. This was reported by the Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Oleksandr Pivnenko. In particular, the National Guard received Leopard 1A5 and Leopard 2A4 tanks, which have already proven their effectiveness in combat conditions.

13.46 Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense has approved more than 60 types of ammunition for various purposes for use. The largest group is for unmanned systems. This is reported on the department's website. It is noted that the list of new products includes ammunition for artillery and mortars, engineering ammunition, ammunition for small arms of various types: both Soviet calibers and for NATO calibers.

12.36 Lithuania is considering launching the production of sea drones according to the "1+1" scheme: one for itself, one for Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense Dovilė Šakaliėne, Militarnye reports. According to her, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense is interested in Ukrainian attack surface drones, missile drones and other weapons.

11.40 As a result of a Russian strike in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kiev, a family of volunteers was killed - an elderly woman and her son, who kept ten cats at home.

The family lived on the top floor of a five-story building. The boy had a disability, and his mother looked after him. During the shelling, the family could not go down to the shelter.

The bodies of two people and five cats were found at the site of the shelling, and one surviving cat with severe burns was found under the window. The animal is currently in the oxygen chamber of the clinic's intensive care unit.

Head of the KGVA Timur Tkachenko reported that as a result of a drone attack in the Shevchenkivskyi district, a mother and son were killed - born in 1960 and 1997. The deceased woman did not live two days before her birthday.

11.15 The Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB agent who spied on the Defense Forces in Sumy region, posing as a military man.

The Russian agent turned out to be a 44-year-old local resident who, on orders from the FSB, was spying on the military in the Kursk direction.

9.50 The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to Russia's night attack. Such behavior demonstrates the true nature of the Russian Federation - not as a "liberator," but as a state committing war crimes, noted Minister Andriy Sybiga.

"Putin is responding with such brutal blows to Ukraine's unconditional offer of a ceasefire for 30 days or longer. He is deliberately mocking the peace efforts of the United States," the head of the Foreign Ministry said.

9.33 Residential buildings were damaged in the Zhitomir district as a result of an attack by Russian drones. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties or injured.

9.17 In the Kaluga region of the Russian Federation, the Shaikovka airfield, where Tu-22M3 aircraft are based and Kh-22 missiles are stored, was hit. The Kubinka airbase in the Moscow region, where Su-27 and MiG-29 aircraft are based, was also hit. This was reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Andrei Kovalenko.

8.50 Over the past 24 hours, 171 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian invaders have been recorded at the front. Aviation, missile forces and artillery have struck 10 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, an electronic warfare station, a radar station, four UAV control points, four artillery systems, a control point and two ammunition depots of the Russians. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 7.

Trump: Options on Iran’s centrifuges are ‘blow them up nicely or blow them up viciously’
[IsraelTimes] Asked whether the US has given Iran a choice between turning over its nuclear centrifuges and uranium or “get bombed,” US President Donald Trump responds, “It’s that simple.”

“I would much prefer a strong, verified deal where we actually blow them up… or just de-nuke them,” Trump tells conservative talk show host Hugh Hewitt in an interview, apparently referring to Iran’s nuclear centrifuges.

“There are only two alternatives there, blow them up nicely or blow them up viciously,” the president adds.

Britain
Report: Arrested Iranian nationals were planning attack on Israeli Embassy in London, Iran gov’t had demanded their people be respected
[IsraelTimes] Eight Iranian men arrested in the United Kingdom over the weekend are suspected of plotting to attack the Israeli Embassy in London, according to an unsourced report in The Times newspaper.

“Police have refused to publicize details of the alleged plot, but it is understood the embassy was the main target,” says the report, without naming sources.

“Dan Jarvis, the security minister, refused to give details of the immigration status of the suspects citing the continuing police inquiry,” the newspaper adds.

There was no immediate comment from Israel’s Foreign Ministry or the embassy.

After two separate arrests of the men were conducted in counter-terrorism operations on Saturday, British Interior Minister Yvette Cooper called the operations “some of the biggest counter-state threats” the country had seen in recent years.

Commander Dominic Murphy, head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, said earlier this week that “the investigation is still in its early stages and we are exploring various lines of enquiry to establish any potential motivation as well as to identify whether there may be any further risk to the public linked to this matter.”

British media on Tuesday reported mounting speculation that the seven Iranians and one other person arrested over the weekend had been “hours away” from carrying out an attack on a synagogue or a location linked to London’s Jewish community, though there was no confirmation of the reports.

Iran urges UK to uphold rights of 8 Iranians arrested in terrorism investigations

[Rudaw] Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday urged the United Kingdom to "ensure respect" for the rights of Iranian nationals, a day after British counter-terrorism police secured arrest warrants to extend the detention of seven out of eight Iranians arrested on Saturday. Five are being held "on suspicion of terrorism offences," while three others were detained in a separate investigation by London police's Counter Terrorism Command.

In a statement on X, Araghchi noted that he was "disturbed to learn that Iranian citizens have reportedly been arrested by UK security services," expressing his country’s readiness "to assist investigations" if "credible allegations of misconduct are established."

"We call on the UK to ensure respect for our citizens' rights and afford them due process," the Iranian foreign minister added.

Araghchi’s remarks came a day after British counter-terrorism police secured warrants to further detain seven out of eight Iranians arrested on Saturday, in two separate investigations.

"Detectives have secured warrants of further detention for four of the five men arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences this weekend. The men can now be held for questioning until next Saturday [May 10]," London's Metropolitan Police Service said in a post on X.

"All five men, who are all Iranian nationals, were arrested on suspicion of preparation of a terrorist act," the British police elaborated in a statement, adding that the fifth man was "released on bail, with conditions, to a date in May."

The five men were arrested over a suspected plot to target a specific premises, however the British police have not named the targeted site.

The Metropolitan Police stated in another Monday post on X that "Warrants of further detention have also been secured in relation to three men arrested as part of a separate and unrelated national security investigation."

The three people were "arrested in London as part of a Counter Terrorism Policing investigation," the Metropolitan Police had previously explained in a Sunday statement, clarifying that "this investigation is not connected to the arrest of five people yesterday [Saturday] as part of a separate Met Counter Terrorism operation."

Dan Jarvis, the UK’s security minister on Tuesday described the two operations as "significant and complex," and that "they were some of the largest counter-state threats and counter-terrorism actions we have seen in recent times."

Jarvis emphasized the British government’s "response to the unacceptable threat we face from the Iranian state, and the steps we are taking to ensure that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies have the tools they need to disrupt and degrade Iran’s malign activity on UK soil."

In early March, the UK announced it would require the Iranian state to register all activities aimed at exerting political influence within the UK, subjecting Tehran to an increased level of scrutiny.

Jarvis then stated that he would include Iran's state institutions, its security services, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the highest tier of an upcoming registration scheme, designed to safeguard against covert foreign influence.

In an October speech, Ken McCallum, the director of the UK’s MI5 domestic security service, stated that at least 20 "potentially lethal" plots backed by Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
have been thwarted in Britannia since 2022. These plots were primarily aimed at dissident Iranians who oppose the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
DOJ Reportedly Gave ‘Limited Immunity' to Human Smuggler Who Owned Van Driven by Kilmar Abrego Garcia for Details on 2022 Trip
[TennesseeStar] News emerged on Tuesday that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), who The Tennessee Star reported last week is now investigating Kilmar Abrego Garcia, offered "limited immunity" to the owner of the vehicle driven by the El Salvadoran national on his November 2022 trip
… back when the Biden administration was running things…
from Texas to Maryland that was briefly interrupted by a Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) traffic stop in Tennessee.

After confirming The Star’s previous reporting, the ABC News report revealed that Jose Ramon Hernandez Reyes, who the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed was the owner of the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Abrego Garcia in 2022, recently spoke to a DOJ lawyer regarding the stop after being offered immunity.

Hernandez Reyes was previously arrested in 2019 and convicted of human trafficking in 2020. At that point, he was sentenced to 18 months behind bars, then deported and ordered not to return for three years.

According to the Tuesday report, Hernandez Reyes violated the terms of his sentence and illegally reentered the United States sometime later, allowing DOJ attorneys to interview Hernandez Reyes at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Talladega, Alabama.

The outlet, citing sources familiar with the interview, reported that Hernandez Reyes "recently spoke" with attorneys who asked questions about his connections to Abrego Garcia.

Hernandez Reyes reportedly told the DOJ officials that he met Abrego Garcia in 2015, just three years after the latter man reportedly admitted to illegally entering the United States.

After they met in 2015, the prisoner reportedly admitted to DOJ officials that he paid Abrego Garcia to transport illegal immigrants from Texas to various destinations throughout the United States.

The Star was first to report that Abrego Garcia was stopped by THP in 2022, when he was transporting nine people without a valid license, and the agency later confirmed it was instructed to release Abrego Garcia by the "Biden-era FBI." DHS has additionally confirmed that troopers suspected Abrego Garcia of human trafficking during the stop.

Abrego Garcia is an El Salvador citizen who was deported by the Trump administration to his homeland in March. He claimed that the deportation violated the final deportation order issued in his immigration case in 2019, which contained a "withholding of removal" that specifically forbade his deportation to one of two nations, either Guatemala or El Salvador.

Body-worn camera footage released by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security to The Star last week revealed Abrego Garcia was carrying $1,400 in cash at the time of the arrest. Hernandez Reyes was convicted of charging passengers $350 for transportation from Texas to other parts of the country.

Five suspects arrested with explosives in Kenya
[Garowe] The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya have arrested five people with explosives that were in transit, in what could shape the ongoing offensive against the al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
Death Eaters in the northeastern region.

The DCI confirmed that the multi-agency security teams intercepted a passenger bus headed to Meru from Mombasa, nabbing a cache of weapons in the process. The vehicle was intercepted around the Kanyonyoo-Embu highway.

The discovery came during a meticulous search that revealed a medium-sized white carton, branded with the LATO Milk logo. Inside, authorities discovered a dangerous haul: ten water gel explosives labelled EXPLOGEL V6, one detonating cord, and two IDEAL Electric Detonators, detectives said.

After the discovery, the vehicle was swiftly escorted to Kanyonyo Police Station, where the driver, Lawrance Kioko Mutuku, and the conductor, Said Rashid Amour, were taken into custody pending investigation.

However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
acting on forensic leads, detectives from the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) and the Anti-Terrorist Police Unit (ATPU) zeroed in on the key suspect — Brenda Imboyanga Makhulungu, who was apprehended in Kakamega town, several kilometres west of Nairobi.

Brenda, the registered sender of the package, had declared the explosives as "Dawa ya Maji" at Tahmeed’s Kakamega office, orchestrating its journey from Kakamega to Mombasa and then to the Meru-bound bus via Kitui.

The investigation widened, leading to the arrest of two additional suspects, David Tindi Andala and John Kariuki Kung’u, in Meru town. All five suspects are now in jug in the ongoing probe, with the bus and the seized explosives detained as exhibits.

In recent weeks, security forces in Kenya have been pursuing al-Shabaab Death Eaters in the northeastern and Lamu regions, where the group has managed to kill dozens of innocent civilians and security officers, who have paid the price of the operations.

Multi-agency security teams have been keeping the Death Eaters at bay in eastern parts of the country, with the Kenya Defence Forces managing operations in the country. Over 14 Forward Operating Bases have been opened along the border with Somalia, with many soldiers expected to be deployed.

RUMINT: US, Israel discuss US heading temporary postwar administration of Gaza, say sources
Anonymous sources say:
[IsraelTimes] The United States and Israel have discussed the possibility of Washington leading a temporary postwar administration of Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, according to five people familiar with the matter.

The "high-level" consultations have centered around a transitional government headed by a US official that would oversee Gaza until it has been demilitarized and stabilized, and a viable Paleostinian administration had emerged, the sources say.

According to the discussions, which remain preliminary, there would be no fixed timeline for how long such a US-led administration would last, and it would depend on the situation on the ground, the five sources say.

The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to discuss the talks publicly, compare the proposal to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq that Washington established in 2003, shortly after the US-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein.

The authority was perceived by many Iraqis as an occupying force and it transferred power to an interim Iraqi government in 2004 after failing to contain a growing insurgency.

Other countries would be invited to take part in the US-led authority in Gaza, the sources say, without identifying which ones. They say the administration would draw on Paleostinian technocrats but would exclude Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
and the Paleostinian Authority.

Judge orders Trump admin to detail legal grounds to deport anti-Israel Columbia activist
[IsraelTimes] A federal judge instructs the Trump administration to detail the legal precedent for its plan to deport Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist whose presence in the country the government alleges could harm US foreign policy interests.

District Court Judge Michael Farbiarz in Newark, New Jersey, orders the administration to supply a catalog of every case in which US officials have employed the law being used against Khalil, a former Columbia University graduate student who was a leader in anti-Israel protests on campus.

The judge asks to know the specifics behind US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s determination of the risks posed by Khalil’s presence in the US. He gave the government until 9:30 a.m. ET tomorrow to respond.

Khalil was arrested in March at his apartment building in New York City in the presence of his wife, a US citizen. Khalil became a permanent US resident last year and has been detained without charges since his arrest.

The administration is seeking to deport Khalil under a section of immigration law that allows for the deportation of “an alien whose presence or activities in the United States the Secretary of State has reasonable ground to believe would have potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences.”

Fight between swearing girls in hijabs filmed in Caucasus
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] A conflict between a group of girls in the Caucasus was captured on video. The corresponding video was published by the Telegram channel "ChP Kavkaz".

The footage shows the beginning of a conflict between five, presumably schoolgirls, wearing hijabs. Another girl records the events on her phone camera. One of the girls in a white hijab hits another in a black one, the third tries to separate them, but the fight continues with obscene language from the friends.

It is not known for certain what caused the conflict, but from the video it can be assumed that the victim allegedly "disgraced" her opponent in front of the boys. It is not specified where exactly the incident took place.

“Learn to be more than just decorative Muslim women!” the author of the publication wrote.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, a similar incident had previously occurred in Dagestan. At that time, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the republic, Marina Yezhova, called for a change in approaches to upbringing after a fight between teenage girls in hijabs.

Climatologist Kokorin: Moscow to experience more tornadoes and strong winds in summer
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Against the backdrop of general climate change, tornadoes and strong winds will occur more often in Moscow in the summer. This was reported by climatologist Alexey Kokorin.

"Tornadoes have been recorded in the Moscow region before, because heat waves can penetrate quite far. Most likely, this will not be a typical phenomenon for Moscow and the region, but we will definitely have more strong winds, gusts of about 30 meters per second, and we need to adapt to this," he noted in a conversation with the Moscow agency.

Kokorin also added that such unusual weather phenomena as tornadoes and whirlwinds, against the backdrop of global warming, will be encountered more often not only in the capital, but also in other regions of Russia.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, noted earlier that on May 2, in Moscow and the Moscow region, covered in snow, a 116-year-old record for the volume of precipitation was broken. As a result of the snowfall, about 26 thousand people in more than 90 settlements in the Moscow region were left without electricity.

Home Front: Politix
Trump's closest ally's chilling warning to the president about 'neocons'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Marjorie Taylor Greene senses something anti-Trump is afoot in the GOP.

Marjorie Taylor Greene sees a schism in the Republican party, and it's not between her and President Donald Trump, she told the Daily Mail in a sit-down interview, it's among 'neocons' and conservatives.

The firebrand warned that congressional Republicans remain 'addicted to foreign wars' - despite the president running on a mandate to end America's involvement in conflicts overseas and bring peace to the world.

Greene sent shockwaves through Capitol Hill last week when she wrote on X: 'I represent the base and when I'm frustrated and upset over the direction of things, you better be clear, the base is not happy.'

The Georgia congresswoman clarified her long post was not about the president but 'typical Republican leadership,' which, along with 'classic neocons,' she accused of co-opting the MAGA movement away from Trump.

Neocons are generally Republicans who advocate for U.S. intervention in global affairs, like the wars in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq and more.

'I'm not naming and names in particular, but everyone pretty much knows it's the same old, same old,' Greene said of the forces influencing the GOP. '[The] Classic neocon establishment in Washington. It's just an existence. It's a conglomerate.'

An obvious example of this, she argued, is the Senate's discontent with Ed Martin, Trump's nominee for U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.

The Trump nominee is currently opposed by Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., and because of that Martin's bid may not pass. Greene, therefore, blames Tillis, among others, for obstructing Trump's agenda.

'We have problems in Congress,' she told the Daily Mail. '[Trump's] agenda is not being passed in Congress.'

The project is so dear to the president's heart that a poster of the name change has hung in the Oval Office and he had hats made with the new phrase.

'He literally keeps the map next to his desk,' Greene told the Daily Mail.

Though with some Republicans reportedly upset over the measure, Greene dared any GOP lawmaker to jump out of line and 'stand with Mexico.'

Overall, the congresswoman also vehemently warned against those advocating for foreign wars and status-quo Washington procedure, a prevailing wind forcing the president's White House wayward.

'The Republican establishment wants to do this like a speed bump,' Greene warned while leaning forward in her seat. 'They know that President Trump can't run again.'

'They would love to continue just steaming ahead in their same path, and try to get over him like a speed bump and keep going,' the Georgia congresswoman continued.

'And my voice is important to not allow that to happen,' she added.

The Georgian has been a MAGA ally for a decade and wrote for conservative online outlets before becoming a member of Congress three days before January 6, 2021.

Greene boasts one of the largest social media followings for any member of Congress on X, with a combined 6.3 million, 1 million on Instagram and over 500,000 on Facebook.

When Daily Mail asked Greene why she thinks the 'base' is displeased, she immediately pointed to one thing, the same reason highlighted in her post from the week prior: war.

'Washington, DC, has an addiction to foreign wars,' Greene told the Daily Mail. 'President Trump is on record for decades being against foreign wars, saying that we need world peace.'

Then she congratulated the president on striking a peace deal with the Houthis in Yemen, which have been bombing ships in the Red Sea, a critical shipping route.

'This is exactly one of the reasons why I've always supported the President is because he has worked for peace and stopping foreign wars,' the lawmaker said.

'However, we had been seeing people here in Washington pushing him towards one a war with Iran, which we do not want. American people don't want that. No one's no one's interested in a war Iran,' Greene stated.

She then dove into the Ukraine war, the U.S.'s war in Afghanistan and other conflicts that the country lost so much in, which she blamed on 'neocons.'

'That's why I said, if you're losing me and I'm angry at you and I'm frustrated ... You're losing the base.'

'And you can read all the comments, I'm right,' Greene claimed, adding the 'comments back me up.'

The policeman who liquidated the terrorist in Dagestan had saved people before
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Police officer Murad Magomedov, who eliminated a terrorist in Makhachkala, is not performing a heroic act for the first time; he saved people and was wounded during militant attacks on churches and synagogues in 2024, and also helped victims of a gas station explosion in 2023. The man is currently recovering after a recent fight with a terrorist; doctors have managed to stabilize his condition and prepare him for another operation. Regnum News Agency was told about this by the police officer's colleagues and relatives.

On May 5, 2025, terrorists armed with machine guns attacked traffic police officers in Makhachkala when law enforcement officers tried to stop a car. They opened fire on the police at the intersection of Kerimov and Magomedtagirov streets and took over the patrol car. Three law enforcement officers were killed in the shootout. One was wounded by a gunshot, and several local residents were wounded, including a 17-year-old girl. One attacker was eliminated, the other was wounded and taken to the hospital.

He is currently charged with committing crimes under Articles 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt on the life of law enforcement officers), 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hijacking without the intent to steal), 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal arms trafficking), and 226 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft of weapons).

One of the heroes who fought back the terrorists was 26-year-old police officer Murad Magomedov. During the shootout, the man received a gunshot wound to the leg. But despite the serious wound, the policeman rushed at the militant, snatched the knife from him in hand-to-hand combat and neutralized the terrorist. Murad Magomedov received multiple stab wounds and was hospitalized in serious condition. Before losing consciousness, the man managed to film his face, cut by the criminal's knife.

The footage shows a police officer rushing at the terrorist and knocking him to the ground. The incident is filmed from a second-floor window by frightened bystanders.

A SEASONED HERO
The police officer's former partner Magomed served side by side with him for four years in the patrol and guard service of the Makhachkala Ministry of Internal Affairs. They spent all these years together in the same crew and many times found themselves at the center of the most high-profile incidents, participated in repelling a terrorist attack at an Orthodox church on June 23, 2024 and saved people after a gas station explosion on August 14, 2023.

In June 2024, the partners came under fire during a terrorist attack on the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Makhachkala.

On June 23, armed militants attacked two Orthodox churches, synagogues and a traffic police post in Makhachkala and Derbent. Law enforcement officers resisted the terrorists, the attackers were eliminated, but more than 16 law enforcement officers and several civilians were killed in the clashes, and the number of casualties reached 61 people. On Ermoshkina Street in Makhachkala, the attackers attacked a traffic police post and set fire to a synagogue, after which they also attackedHoly Dormition Cathedral on Ordzhonikidze Street.

"There was a massacre there, we changed the morning shift and came under fire at the cathedral. Our crew was one of the first to arrive at the scene, within 10 minutes. Murad, I and other crews were shooting back at the terrorists," Magomed recalls.

The militants were eliminated. Criminal cases were opened on the basis of the attacks under the articles "Terrorist act", "Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of firearms" and "Theft of firearms".

A year earlier, on August 14, 2023, Magomed and Murad literally witnessed an explosion at a gas station in Makhachkala. A fire broke out in the building of the car service, located at the intersection of Kulinskaya Street in the village of Novokuli and the Federal Highway of Makhachkala, and the fire spread to the premises where flammable fertilizer was stored. An explosion occurred, which damaged nearby houses, a gas station, and passing cars. The number of dead and injured exceeded 100 people, the explosion damaged about 45 buildings, including 40 residential buildings.

Seeing the explosion, Magomed and Murad rushed to the scene; the police were very close and miraculously were not injured.

"We were not physically injured, but psychologically this tragedy left a deep mark. So many dead and wounded, I have never seen anything like this before. I got out of the car, screaming, there was darkness all around, and a woman with two children in her arms came out to my voice. And they had shrapnel wounds on their faces. We immediately put them in a civilian car and sent them to the hospital," Magomed said.

This continued all night, the police officers helped pull out the wounded, then searched for the bodies of the dead. Both police officers did not leave the scene even after the end of their shift. 63 people were taken to hospitals, including 16 children. 11 victims, including two children, are in serious condition. Another 35 people died.

After the terrorist attack in 2024, Magomed transferred to another unit, and his partner remained in the same crew. Less than a year later, on May 5, 2025, Murad again entered into a fight with terrorists and was seriously wounded. The former partner was also at the scene, but missed Murad by a few minutes; he saw the policeman being taken to the hospital. Magomed learned about his friend's feat from his fellow soldiers. He is confident that Murad Magomedov deserves the highest award for his actions and other merits.

"This is his third feat, in fact. For the fact that we participated in countering the terrorist attack at the church last year, we were both awarded the title of "combat veteran". For this new feat, I think he should be awarded the title of Hero of Russia, he deserves it," the policeman said.

He is on the mend.

Murad Magomedov is currently recovering. On May 7, he was transferred from the Central Hospital of Makhachkala to the medical unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan, where he will undergo surgery on his leg on May 8. Murad's aunt Zemfira told how her nephew is feeling and what prognosis the doctors are giving for his treatment. In the fight with the terrorist, Murad Magomedov received three deep cut wounds to his face and arm, a concussion, and a through-and-through bullet wound to his thigh, which broke the bone. On the first day, the man received stitches for the cut wounds and stabilized his condition. The doctors waited for the swelling on the injured leg to go down to perform the surgery. And his relatives and colleagues hoped and believed that the man would survive and soon regain consciousness.

"We fought for Murad's life for two days, everyone was on edge, his mother's face was gone, she was very worried, she was literally on duty at the hospital. Everyone was waiting for him to wake up, including his colleagues, young patrol guys. They stood there, crying, it turns out that Murad covered them with himself, literally saved them. They were cornered, they themselves said that if he hadn't stopped this militant, this terrorist would have killed them too. We are all waiting for him to recover, he is our hero," the woman explained.

According to the aunt, Murad's colleagues are constantly in touch with his relatives, they inquire about his condition and offer help to the family. So far, almost no one is allowed into the man's ward, only the closest relatives, and even then not for long. The policeman is in a state of shock. After hospitalization, the parents were on duty at their son's ward all night and were very worried, because they did not know what condition Murad would be in when he woke up.

"When his mother came into his room, he started crying, he was in shock. The doctors warned us about this, a neurosurgeon will be monitoring him. He barely speaks yet, but he recognizes his relatives. We are happy about this, even though he is weak, even though he is in a serious condition, but at least he will recognize them," the woman shared.

The man was hospitalized almost at the same time as his new 26-year-old Islam, who was also wounded by terrorists. The men had worked together for several years and became friends. But doctors were unable to save Islam, he received serious injuries, from which he died in the hospital.

"It was very scary to watch how they were first brought in, and then Islam was taken to the morgue. It's terrible, they spent all their time together, they started serving in the same year. Murad hasn't been told yet that Islam is no more," Zemfira explained.

According to the woman, Murad had been injured before, but he took it very calmly. According to the rules of his profession, he rarely told his family about what he had to deal with at work, and he never bragged about his achievements.

"He had wounds before, but not so serious. He didn't even pay attention to them, he would bandage them himself at home, and that's it. He rode horses since childhood, grew up in the mountains, he is not at all fearful. He is always the first to climb, he is not afraid. You saw how in the video he jumped over that fence with a shot leg and chased that militant, how he took away the knife. Another person, probably already wounded, would have been scared, would have walked away. But Murad fought to the end, risked his life," Zemfira said.

After the shootout on June 23, 2024, Murad's family was seriously scared for their son. His aunt asked her nephew how it was that he always found himself in the center of the most dangerous events.

"He reacts to everything very quickly, running-running, and he's already there. He says, why did I go to the service, why do I need such a job if I'm not going to help. It's always like this with him, if he's needed, he runs, even in civilian clothes, even in his own car, even in his own free time, without eating, without sleeping, he'll run," the woman explained.

Zemfira is confident that Murad’s character is the result of proper upbringing and good relationships in the family.

FAMILY
The policeman's mother works as a primary school teacher, and his father is a farmer. Murad has two younger twin brothers. They are 21 years old, one of them is into martial arts, and the other followed in his father's footsteps and is learning to farm. His relatives really want Murad to meet a girl and get married, but the policeman doesn't have a wife or children yet.

"When it all happened, they wrote on Telegram channels that his wife and children were waiting for him at home. Unfortunately, this is not true. He has never been married, and he has no children. But we hope that they will appear. He is very shy in this regard. He is very well-mannered, we told him that it was time to start a family, and he joked in response: "Find a worthy bride, show her to me, I will definitely get married," the aunt said.

Now the family is waiting for Murad to undergo another operation and for him to be visited. The policeman has a long rehabilitation ahead, but his relatives and colleagues are very happy that Murad is already on the mend.

Arabia
Setting the Levers: How Little Qatar Controlled the Politics of Major Countries
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Tsukanov

[REGNUM] The European Commission (EC) has decided to stir up the “inconvenient past” and launched a re-investigation into the Qatari corruption scandal of 2022. The focus is on Henrik Hololei, a European official from Estonia, who is accused of secretly working for Doha.

Despite the fact that the investigation is still “internal”, it could well result in criminal prosecution – especially since a precedent has already been set, and not only in Europe.

The EC may have been partly prompted to look at the scandal of three years ago from a new angle by similar crises in other countries, where the interests of official Doha were also involved.

QATARGATE 2022
The 2022 corruption scandal in the European Parliament (also known as "Qatargate") was one of the largest in the history of the EU. The total damage caused to Europe by foreign lobbyists was estimated at several tens of billions of euros in monetary terms.

At least ten senior EU officials were put under investigation, including then-Vice President Eva Kaili and influential MEP Antonio Panzeri. For some, most notably Kaili, it was the end of their political careers.

And although agents of influence from Morocco and Mauritania also had a hand in the behind-the-scenes struggle for control over EU decisions, it was Qatari lobbyists who became the main headache for the European community.

As EC functionaries later noted, Doha skillfully manipulated individual MPs and their family members.

In this way, Qatar has managed not only to improve its own reputation ahead of the 2022 World Cup, but also to secure preferences for national oil, gas and technology companies, as well as to secure generous European investments in the “domestic” digital sector.

In addition, thanks to its connections in the European Parliament, Qatar has gained the opportunity to influence the situation in the Palestinian Authority and the Gaza Strip, unobtrusively promoting its creature through the hands of European officials.

A couple of years later, this greatly helped Doha become a universal mediator between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas.

THE HOLOLEI CASE
However, the shadow of the Qatari corruption scandal did not ruin the careers of all those involved.

The case of the former Director General of the EC for Transport, Henrik Hololei, is indicative. The European official spent a lot of time in Doha, which he allegedly visited "at the expense of the inviting party," and often combined working meetings with sheikhs and vacations in fashionable establishments in the Qatari capital.

Moreover, Qatar's good nature and hospitality coincided with a period when Khololei was authorized by the EU to negotiate with it on "open skies," which would have given the national airline Qatar Airways greater access to the European Union than other Arabian carriers.

It is worth noting that the main and most active negotiations took place precisely during the period when Qatar was under diplomatic blockade and was effectively isolated from its neighbors.

It is not surprising that the European official soon began to face questions from the prosecutor's office and his colleagues at the EC.

In 2022, Khololei was a suspect in the "Qatargate" scandal, but he was not included in the "shameful cohort" with his high-ranking colleagues, since some of the accusations against him were never proven.

In addition, even before the preliminary charges against Kaili and Panzeri were approved, the official made a deal with his colleagues and voluntarily left his position. However, he did not leave the transport directorate itself, but only took a lower position as a political adviser, where he remains to this day.

However, it seems he never managed to completely shake off his past. In the spring of 2025, the EC reopened its internal investigation into Hololei.

Formally, the verification procedure began back in March to re-check information about the European official’s past abuses during his business trips to Qatar.

However, by May, the EC began talking about certain “new episodes” in the already investigated case and about the presence of a “Qatari trace” in its latest decisions and initiatives.

Investigators suggested that even after leaving office, Khololei retained the role of Qatar's behind-the-scenes lobbyist and continued to help his former partners promote decisions in the European Parliament that were beneficial to them. For these purposes, he used the parliamentary network and NGOs close to the European Parliament.

If the accusations against the European official are confirmed, he will be forced to leave the EC permanently and will most likely become a defendant in a criminal case along the same lines as Kylie did earlier.

TWIN SCANDAL FROM 2025
The renewed interest in Europe in the already forgotten scandal can be explained, among other things, by the great hype surrounding the “Qatar dossier” in Israel, also known as “Qatargate”).

The issue is that those close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have been drawn into a scandal involving lobbying for Doha's interests and passing it secret information for more effective strategic planning.

At first, European law enforcement officials did not pay much attention to developments in Israel.

However, after the Israeli version of “Qatargate” went beyond the borders of the Jewish state, and information emerged about Doha’s attempts to influence the image and policies of other countries (Egypt and the United States), the EC reasonably assumed that the “tentacles” of Doha’s influence could well extend into Europe.

And so they decided to check their officials for dubious connections - and started with those who had already been caught committing abuses in the past.

It is quite possible that Khololei is far from the only one who has decided to reboot old ties with Qatari sheikhs, guided by the idea that the European “Qatargate” is no longer as interesting to investigators as its Israeli “twin”.

This means that new names well known to Europeans may soon appear in the case.

Be that as it may, both scandals – the European and the Israeli – demonstrate that over time Qatar has not only not lost its influence on global processes, but has also been able to increase them with a minimal expenditure of resources.

Having set up “levers” not only in the Middle East, but also in the Old World, Doha remained mostly in the shadow of the major powers, but influenced the vectors of their policies, controlling the situation through its lobbyists.

#1  One of these days some smart guy is going to investigate which Americans were paid off when the US base was founded in Qatar. And which politicos in Washington continue to be paid off by the al-Thani rulers. And why the al-Thani's funding of the Muslim Brotherhood does not even raise a ripple of interest in the USA. And why the FBI has no interest in the Ikhwan's activity in the USA. And which American academics have been for years on the Qatar payroll. And which US Olympics officials are on the Qatar payroll. Etc., etc., etc.

Great White North
Was Trump trolling Canada an Alinsky play?
Alinsky rules 4 and 5: Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.

Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. There is no defense. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.
[HotAir] Mark Carney Could Tear Canada Apart

In an election that seemed all but guaranteed to land Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives in government, Canada instead re-elected Mark Carney’s Liberal Party for another four years. Carney, former governor of the Bank of England, first became Canadian prime minister in March, taking over from the scandal-mired Justin Trudeau
...hereditary prime minister of the Great White North...
. The increasingly unpopular Liberals were set to be tossed by the populist-leaning Poilievre, until US president Donald Trump
...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!...
’s threats to annex the country. This derailed the national discourse and caused liberal-left voters to rally behind Carney.

The Liberals’ victory, however, was extremely narrow, and their fourth term in government is set to be a rough ride. For starters, Carney will have to form a minority government. It will also have to contend with the fact that Poilievre’s Conservatives made significant gains among younger voters. For those aged between 18 and 34, support for the Conservatives outpaced Liberal support by 44 per cent to 31 per cent. Young Canadians remained impervious to Carney’s anti-Trump appeals — only 18 per cent of 18- to 29-year-olds were worried about Trump, compared with 45 per cent of voters over 60.

The youth were not the only group the Liberals failed to win over. In Western Canada, Trump’s threat to make Canada the 51st state provoked little concern, and Alberta and Saskatchewan remained Conservative strongholds. In fact, voters in these provinces were far less fearful of Trump than they were of Carney’s green agenda.

The Trudeau government — in power since 2015 — had already done its best to alienate the Canadian West with its unpopular federal Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act 2018, more commonly referred to as the carbon tax. As the biggest oil-producing provinces in the country, Alberta and Saskatchewan were most affected by this. Although Carney scrapped the carbon tax ahead of the election, he has shown every indication that he intends to continue with every other aspect of Trudeau’s Net Zero agenda. After all, in 2021, Carney said he believed that half of the world’s oil reserves need to stay in the ground.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Katz says still time for deal to head off Gaza op, but no stopping once it starts
[IsraelTimes] Defense Minister Israel Katz says once Israel launches a major offensive planned in Gaza after next week it will not stop until it reaches its goals of conquering and holding the Strip.

“Operation Gideon’s Chariots is intended to defeat Hamas and bring about the release of all the hostages. We will act with great force to destroy all of Hamas’s military and governmental capabilities, while creating strong pressure for the release of all the hostages,” Katz says in remarks published by his office following an assessment with the IDF’s 162nd Division, which is due to take part in the offensive.

He says that “unlike in the past, the IDF will remain in every area [it conquers] to prevent the return of terrorism and to clear and thwart any threat.”

“From the moment the maneuver begins, we will act with great force and will not stop until all objectives are achieved, including the voluntary emigration plan for the residents of Gaza,” Katz adds.

He says the campaign will not be launched until US President Donald Trump wraps up a trip to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates slated for May 13 to May 16, indicating it could still be called off if a hostage deal is reached.

The current preparation phase “allows a window of opportunity until the end of the US president’s visit to the region to carry out a hostage deal,” he says.

He says that Israeli troops will remain in a buffer zone inside Gaza “in any temporary or permanent arrangement,” as it is intended to protect Israeli communities and prevent Hamas from smuggling weapons.

Nigeria: Reps in Uproar Over Worsening Insecurity, Demands Action, Warn of Citizen Revolt - allAfrica.com
[ALLAFRICA] A stormy session erupted in the House of Representatives on Tuesday as politicians from insurgency-ravaged regions issued stark warnings about Nigeria's deteriorating security situation, lamenting fresh attacks by Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
and accusing the federal government of inaction.

The debate was sparked by a motion of urgent public importance moved by Rep Ahmed Satomi on the recent fire incident at the armory at Giwa Barracks and the escalating attacks on military formations in Borno and Yobe state.

The motion was quickly snowballed into emotional testimonies and dire warnings, with some politicians declaring that if urgent steps are not taken, Nigerians may turn on their elected representatives.

Hon. Yusuf Gagdi (APC, Plateau) issued a searing rebuke to those downplaying the severity of the crisis. "When the governor is crying, and someone within the comfort of his own says the governor is raising an unnecessary alarm, we are rascals. Nigerians are being killed. This is unacceptable," Gagdi fumed.

He added, "Until the right thing is done by us here... until the government responds with action, not just media statements, don't bet that any member of the National Assembly is safe--not by Boko Haram, but by the people that elected you and I. Time will come, if action is not taken, that Nigerians will take their destinies in their own hands.

"Mr. Speaker, we must stand up and find a way of bringing this issue of insecurity together. Otherwise, you and I is the same. No matter how Nigerians respect us, we are moving to a level that Nigerians will fight us the way they fight criminals and the way they fight Boko Haram.

Hon. Ahmed Jaha (APC, Borno), whose constituency includes Chibok, gave a chilling update: "Ten peasant farmers were slaughtered in Pulka, 14 in Chibok, and military officers in Izge and Kampu. In Wajiboko, Boko Haram used weaponized drones. The Nigerian Army is outgunned and undermanned. I have seen it. Nobody told me. I was there."

Jaha warned the House not to be complacent: "Between 2015 to 2019, the government spent N19.7 trillion on security. Yet Boko Haram is resurging worse than ever. We must do proper oversight."

"Mr. Speaker, I am taking as a victim of the recent resurgence of an insurgence of Boko Haram. I went to my constituency on Saturday to sympathize, to condone with the people that bit the dust as a result of this sporadic, uninterrupted attack.

Caribbean-Latin America
‘Precise Operation' ‐ Marco Rubio Announces Daring Rescue of Venezuela Regime Hostages
[Breitbart] U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Tuesday that the five Venezuelan dissidents trapped in the shut down Argentine embassy in Caracas for 14 months were rescued in a "precise operation" and are now on U.S. soil.

"The U.S. welcomes the successful rescue of all hostages held by the Maduro regime at the Argentinian Embassy in Caracas," Rubio said. "Following a precise operation, all hostages are now safely on U.S. soil. Maduro’s illegitimate regime has undermined Venezuela’s institutions, violated human rights, and endangered our regional security."

"We extend our gratitude to all personnel involved in this operation and to our partners who assisted in securing the safe liberation of these Venezuelan heroes," the secretary of state added.

Although Sec. Rubio did not disclose details of the rescue operation, "unobjectionable sources" confirmed to the Argentine outlet Infobae that "it was a military operation commanded from the United States." Neither socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro — who was just arriving in Russia at the time of Rubio’s announcement — nor any regime member or Venezuelan propaganda outlet has publicly commented on the matter at press time.

The five Venezuelan dissidents — Pedro Urruchurtu, Magallí Meda, Claudia Macero, Humberto Villalobos, and Ómar González — are close associates of María Corina Machado, who leads Venezuela’s only mainstream center-right party, Vente Venezuela. The now-rescued five dissidents sought shelter in the Argentine embassy in March 2024 after Venezuelan authorities issued arrest warrants and remained there up until the unspecified rescue operation.

A sixth dissident, 70-year-old Fernando Martínez Mottola, was also part of the group sheltered in the embassy, but voluntarily turned himself in to Venezuelan authorities in December. Martínez Mottola died from a stroke in February.

The group was among those targeted by the "Bolivarian Fury," a violent dissident crackdown campaign Maduro launched in 2024. Maduro justified the crackdown by claiming that those targeted were involved in dubious and unproven assassination plots against him and other members of his authoritarian regime.

Maduro launched the crackdown campaign shortly after receiving a generous oil and gas sanctions relief package from former U.S. President Joe Biden in exchange for vague promises that he would take actions leading to the holding of a "free and fair election."

No such free election took place in Venezuela. Instead, Maduro held a fraudulent "election" on July 28, 2024, proclaimed himself the "winner" while refusing to show any kind of documentation corroborating the claimed results, and launched an even more brutal dissident crackdown campaign. The opposition candidate in the sham election, 75-year-old diplomat Edmundo González, fled to Spain in September while Machado, who was banned from running, remains in hiding facing threats of arrest.

The Maduro regime repeatedly refused to grant safe passage to the dissidents, forcing them to remain inside the embassy for 14 months. The regime kept the embassy itself in a constant state of siege, cutting its access to running water and power, stealing the building’s fuse box, and constantly harassing the dissidents, among other actions.

After Maduro cut ties with Argentina and several other countries that refused to acknowledge his "victory" in the sham July 2024 election, Brazil agreed to take custody of the Argentine embassy and the sheltered dissidents in August. A month later, the Maduro regime revoked Brazil’s custody permission. Brazil responded to Venezuela at the time that it would nevertheless continue to protect the Argentine embassy and the Venezuelan dissidents until the government of President Javier Milei designated another country "acceptable" to the Venezuelan regime.

President Milei welcomed the unspecified rescue operation and the dissidents’ transfer to the United States in a statement on Tuesday expressing gratitude to those involved — especially thanking Rubio for his "personal commitment" to the operation, "which has made it possible for these true heroes to finally regain their freedom."

#9  Oh, come ON.
The deep state has long wanted regime change in Venezuela and they already have their handpicked stooge Guaido in waiting.
These are Guaido's stooges, just like Biden's buddies in the FBI, Secret Service and DoJ who let the two assassination attempts on Trump go through.
Why else do another country's political dissidents matter to us? Let them all go to hell.
Who's next, we going to raid Israel to free the dissidents being held hostage there?
Raid the UK to free Tommy Robinson?
No, because the deep state isn't planning on regime change in those countries.

Columbia University calls in police after anti-Israel activists invade library
Watch as the university Alinskys their Alinsky — scroll down and enjoy, dear Reader.
[IsraelTimes] Demonstrators call for an ‘intifada revolution,’ disrupting studies before finals week, as the Ivy league school grapples with pressure from Trump administration

Columbia University called in police to arrest anti-Israel demonstrators on Wednesday after the activists reignited campus protests with an invasion of the main university library.

The renewed protest came amid heavy federal scrutiny of the university by the Trump administration and took place immediately before final exams.

The campus coalition of protest groups, Columbia University Apartheid Divest, sent out a video of the protest on Telegram late Wednesday afternoon.

The clip showed masked protesters chanting "Free Paleostine" to the beat of a drum, led by a demonstrator standing on a table. The group shared photos of vandalism inside the library, including graffiti that said, "We will always come back for Paleostine." In the past, the group has voiced open support for violence and terror groups.

In an emailed statement, the group said it had "flooded" the library.

"The flood shows that as long as Columbia funds and profits from imperialist violence, the people will continue to disrupt Columbia’s profits and legitimacy. Repression breeds resistance," the statement said.

The protesters issued demands, including "full financial divestment from Zionist occupation, apartheid and genocide," a boycott of "complicit institutions," and amnesty for all students and staff "targeted" with disciplinary procedures.

Video shared by Jewish students showed masked protesters shoving past a security guard, filing into a library room and putting on keffiyehs while chanting, "There is only one solution, intifada revolution."

Campus officials told the protesters that they needed to show their student identification cards to leave the building.

"If you fail to do so you will be arrested," a public safety officer told demonstrators through a megaphone, video showed.

"We are asking you to please leave," he said, drawing angry shouts of "let us go" from protesters.

The university said in a statement that the protesters had taken over a library reading room.

"These disruptions of our campus and academic activities will not be tolerated. Individuals found to be in violation of University Rules and policies will face disciplinary consequences," the statement said.

During the standoff between the protesters and campus security, other activists attempted to force their way into the building, injuring two university safety officers, acting Columbia President Claire Shipman said in a statement.

One Jewish student posted a video of individuals blocking his access to the library, and saying, "Don’t let this guy in. He’s a fucking Zionist."

Shipman said the university called in police because the situation was unsafe and the administration believed many individuals were on site who were not affiliated with the university. Within Our Lifetime, the leading anti-Israel protest group in the city, had sent out a message to its followers urging them to rally at the campus, which is closed to the public, and held a march in the area.

"Requesting the presence of the NYPD is not the outcome we wanted, but it was absolutely necessary to secure the safety of our community," Shipman said. "Disruptions to our academic activities will not be tolerated."

Footage from the scene showed police leading a line of handcuffed, masked protesters out of the building.

New York leaders condemned the demonstration, while backing the right to peaceful protest.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
voiced support for Jewish New Yorkers.

"To parents of students protesting: call your children and make clear that breaking the law is wrong," Adams added. "We will not tolerate hate or violence."

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said in a statement, "Everyone has the right to peacefully protest. But violence, vandalism or destruction of property are completely unacceptable."

The NYPD confirmed on Wednesday night that protesters had been taken into custody, but did not yet have information on the number of arrests or charges.

The university’s response was a stark contrast to last year, when protesters set up an unauthorized encampment on the university lawn. The administration at the time negotiated with the demonstrators, and only called in police weeks later after the protesters smashed their way into a campus building.

Jewish students and faculty voiced support for the university’s response.

"Strong words and action from Columbia," Brian Cohen, the head of Columbia’s Kraft Center for Jewish Student Life, said on X. "I appreciate all that President Shipman and the Public Safety team did to restore order at Butler Library."

Wednesday’s takeover occurred during days set aside for studying ahead of the university’s final exams next week.

The university commencement is scheduled for May 21. Last year’s commencement was canceled due to protests.

Reps to Investigate Giwa Barracks Fire, Boko Haram Resurgence - Pointblank News
[POINTBLANKNEWS] The House of Representatives on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, resolved to investigate the recent fire incident at the Giwa Barracks armoury in Maiduguri and the escalating spate of Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
attacks on military formations in Borno and Yobe states.

The resolution followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Hon. Satomi Ahmed, representing Jere Federal Constituency of Borno State, during Tuesday's plenary.

Moving the motion, Satomi described the situation as a ''deepening security emergency.''

Raising alarm over the deteriorating security situation, Satomi noted that the last two months have witnessed a resurgence in Boko Haram attacks on military posts, resulting in casualties among soldiers and residents. He pointed specifically to the Giwa Barracks, which not only suffered a destructive fire at its armory but has also been subjected to repeated terrorist assaults.

''These continued attacks on our military installations are extremely worrisome,'' Satomi stated. ''The commitment and courage of our troops are being tested, and urgent measures must be taken to protect both personnel and the communities around them.''

Following deliberation, the House unanimously endorsed the motion and ordered a comprehensive investigation into the Giwa Barracks fire to uncover its cause and prevent similar incidents in the future. The politicians also pressed for an audit of security procedures across all military establishments in the affected states to identify weaknesses and bolster defenses.

Furthermore, the Green Chamber called on the relevant security agencies to intensify counter-insurgency operations in the region, particularly in areas most susceptible to attacks. Lawmakers equally urged that adequate compensation and support be provided to the families of soldiers and civilians impacted by the recent violence.

To oversee the process, the House directed its Committees on Army, Defence, and National Security to lead the inquiry and report back within four weeks.

Restating its dedication to the wellbeing and efficiency of Nigeria's military, the House emphasized that ensuring the safety and morale of troops is critical to the sustained fight against terrorism.

Meta blocks Muslim news page in India after govt request
[GEO.TV] Meta has banned a prominent Moslem news page on Instagram in India at the government s request, the account's founder said Wednesday, denouncing the move as "censorship".

Instagram users in India trying to access posts from the handle @Moslem -- a page with 6.7 million followers -- were met with a message stating: "Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content."

There was no immediate reaction from the Indian government on the ban, which comes after access was blocked to the social media accounts of Pak actors and cricketers.

"I received hundreds of messages, emails and comments from our followers in India, that they cannot access our account," Ameer al-Khatahtbeh, the news account's founder and editor-in-chief, said in a statement.

"Meta has blocked the @Moslem account by legal request of the Indian government. This is censorship."

Meta declined to comment.

A front man for the tech giant directed AFP to a company webpage outlining its policy for restricting content when governments believe material on its platforms goes "against local law."
