[Breitbart] Twenty-three people were shot, five fatally, during the weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
Yesterday, Breitbart News reported at least 15 people were shot Friday into Sunday morning alone in Chicago. The .victims included two fatalities, both of whom were killed on Saturday.
ABC 7 / Chicago Sun-Times notes the number of shooting victims for the entire weekend rose to 23 by Monday morning, and there were three additional shooting fatalities.
The first additional fatal shooting occurred Friday night around 7:45 p.m., when 37-year-old Michael Conrad was shot while sitting "in a white Chrysler in the 4400-block of North Hamlin Avenue." Conrad tried to drive from the scene but crashed. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The second additional fatal shooting occurred Sunday at 7:44 p.m., when a 20-year-old man "in the 1200-block of West 72nd Place" was shot in the head during a drive-by incident. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
The final fatal shooting of the weekend occurred at 9:35 p.m. Sunday, when another 20-year-old man was struck by gunfire while standing in this kitchen "in the 2100-block of West Maypole Avenue." The gunfire came from outside of his home. The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.
[IsraelTimes] Police say they arrested 314 Paleostinians who were illegally residing in Israel over the weekend in a crackdown following last week’s terror attack in Elad.
The suspects in that attack were a pair of Paleostinian workers who crossed into Israel from the West Bank illegally through a hole in the security barrier.
In addition to the 314, roughly 40 others were arrested for illegally employing, transporting and providing lodging to illegal workers, police say.
[IsraelTimes] Mahmoud Sami Khalil Aram sought to cross for unknown reasons near Tulkarem; army says he was shot by troops seeking to arrest him
Israeli troops opened fire and killed an unarmed Paleostinian man attempting to cross the security fence into central Israel on Sunday afternoon, the army said.
The Paleostinian Authority health ministry confirmed the death of the man, identifying him as Mahmoud Sami Khalil Aram. Health officials called him a "young man," but did not immediately give his age.
According to the military, Aram sought to cross the security barrier illegally near Tulkarem in the northern West Bank.
"The troops shot toward him in accordance with the arrest procedure. The suspect was evacuated for medical treatment," the army said.
Under the rules of engagement, Israeli soldiers are allowed to open fire in order to arrest suspects. An Israeli army later spokesperson confirmed Aram was unarmed.
Tens of thousands of Paleostinians are estimated to cross the security barrier illegally to work in Israel. In recent weeks, several faceless myrmidons have also exploited gaps in the fence to arrive in Israeli cities and commit attacks.
[IsraelTimes] In worrying development for Israel, now-abandoned bases reportedly transferred to IRGC and Hezbollah; Moscow has been main force in Syria preventing Iranian expansion
Russia has begun the process of withdrawing some of its troops in Syria to help bolster its forces in Ukraine, the Moscow Times reported.
According to the Friday report in the independent, Dutch-based paper, several military units have been relocated from bases across the country to three unnamed Mediterranean airports, from where they will be transferred to Ukraine.
The report also said that the now-abandoned bases have been transferred to Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guards Corps, as well as the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah.
Damascus is a staunch ally of Moscow, which intervened in the Syrian civil war in 2015 by launching Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s to support Syrian President Bashas Assad’s struggling forces.
Russia’s intervention in Syria marked a turning point in the conflict.
It enabled pro-regime forces to wrest back lost territory in a series of victories against rebels and jihadists involving deadly bombardments and massive destruction.
More than 63,000 Russian military personnel have deployed to Syria, Moscow says.
The new development could be problematic for Israel, which has sought to prevent Iranian entrenchment in Syria.
In an op-ed for Israel’s Channel 12 news, Middle East pundit Ehud Ya’ari warned that without Russian influence in Damascus and on the ground, Tehran could more easily push its units into Syria, as well as influence the Assad regime.
"Israel has no way of truly influencing the considerations of the Russian deployment in Syria," Ya’ari said. "However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... as they lower their military presence in this country, Iran’s growing grip in the region is a development to worry about. It is worth remembering that Russia, even when cooperating with Iran ...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence... in Syria, has always sought to limit and shrink Iran’s foothold there and the depth of Iran’s infiltration of Assad’s army and security services."
Jerusalem and Moscow have in recent years maintained a so-called deconfliction mechanism that works to prevent Israeli and Russian forces from clashing in Syria. Israel has waged a years-long campaign of airstrikes aimed at pro-Iranian fighters located there and at preventing the transfer of Iranian-supplied weaponry.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has avoided criticizing Russia directly for invading Ukraine as Israel seeks to maintain its freedom of movement in the skies of neighboring Syria, which are dominated by Russian forces.
Early on in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, launched at the end of February, Israel sought to walk a diplomatic tightrope between Moscow and Kyiv, preserving relations with both of its allies and offering to broker talks, while supplying Ukraine with humanitarian assistance.
However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... as reports have emerged of Russian atrocities in Ukraine, Israel has shifted its tone and become more outspoken in its criticism.
*The Israelis have been careful to not hit Russian units. They can be more direct now.
*The Russian units going to Ukraine are going to find out that there's a BIG difference between a fanatical, semi-literate goon screaming something about Allan's snackbar and the highly motivated, well-equipped, and well-trained Ukranians.

This is going to get interesting. I doubt the Russians coming from Syria will be as amused once in the Ukraine as I will be watching it.
[Breitbart] The New York Times published a lead editorial on Sunday in which it warned that overturning Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 abortion law, would mean ending interracial marriage, repeating an erroneous argument the left has spread for days.
As Breitbart News reported last week, some Democrats reacted to the leak of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft decision by claiming that all other social rights were at risk if Roe were to be reversed, and states could even ban interracial marriage.
But Justice Alito specifically distinguished abortion from all other cases, because it involves a potential human life, adding: "Nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion."
Nevertheless, in an editorial titled "America Is Not Ready for the End of Roe v. Wade," the Times argued:

"America Is Not Ready for the End of Roe v. Wade,"
Oh, America is. You are just not part of America. Amazing how quickly they forget their unending hatred and ridicule of America and Americans aka deplorables.

Simply put.
Roe Vs. Wade (RvW) was owned by many on both sides of DC Swamp in the early 1970s and the still then prevailing older generation racist atmosphere that America was finally putting behind itself.
However, as the abortion moral question evolved it became a Democrat vs. Republican Political agenda item.
Some argue that the Democrat Party and some elites adopted RvW and still champion RvW because it has been a very efficient tool in the Population Control of the Black or African American & other Minority community populations.
--------------------------- According to:
CURE POLICY REPORT
THE EFFECTS OF ABORTION
ON THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
Presented to Congress in 2015 urbancure.org - blackcommunitynews.com
Black women have the highest abortion ratio in the country, with more than 19 million Black or African American babies aborted since 1973.
-------------------------
Note: 2020 US Census estimated the Black or African American alone population at about 41.1 million. Which accounted for about 12.4% of all people living in the United States. Given 49 years since Roe vs. Wade's "abortion on demand". It has reduced the potential Black Community growth by roughly 46.2%.

...A metric sh!t ton of chickens are coming back to roost with a vengeance, and PDQ at that.
One thing so many people seem to suddenly be noticing over the last week or so is that neither party, during any of the times they switched off control of Congress and the Presidency, ever bothered to either enshrine Roe into law (which, agree or disagree with it, they had/have the right to do) or completely ban it (ditto). They failed to do so because SCOTUS gave them a fig leaf that meant they wouldn't have to stand up and make a decision that, no matter which way it went, would end up sending a bunch of them home next election.
Well, they gotta make a stand now, one way or the other. If it wasn't for the cities that are going to burn, this would be fun to watch.

[RollingStone] DONBAS, Ukraine — Just outside the city limits of Slovyansk, an Eastern Ukrainian city not far from the frontlines, the driver in the lead van switches on the hazard lights and pulls over. "They’re going to put on their [bulletproof] vests," says Ihor Koval, pulling in behind them. Ihor is the driver of the van I’m in and the organizer of this trip to deliver supplies to the Ukrainian Army Forces, among them volunteers who have signed up to fight one of the largest armies in the world. It’s the last leg of a 20-hour drive across nearly the entire width of Ukraine, and we’ve long since entered the Donbas, the flashpoint region in the east.
Despite the billions in heavy weaponry and materiels pouring into Ukraine, many fighters tasked with holding the line are still lacking in necessary supplies like body armor, consumer drones, and nighttime optics. So-called volunteers and informal networks like those organized by Ihor have taken it upon themselves to raise donations and sort out these logistics, sourcing supplies from all over the world. And as Russian forces now regroup and focus their efforts here in the east, Ihor is feverishly trying to ensure that those fighting them, including his cousin, are not left wanting for anything that could give them an advantage or save their lives.
Right now, though, Ihor is dead-set on making sure the Ukrainian volunteers awaiting this push from Russian forces at the very least have their share of traditional sausages and pastries for Easter this weekend. "I don’t care, man. I feel like I owe these guys big time," Ihor leans over to me and says, referring to the fighters at the front. "And I don’t care what’s gonna happen to me. One way or the other I’m gonna die, why not die doing this?"
The last few weeks have seen the Russian invasion of Ukraine begin a shift to a new stage. After failing to encroach on multiple fronts and encircle Kyiv due to strong resistance from Ukrainian forces, the Russian military has pulled back to concentrate their shattered forces in an effort to fully capture and annex the Donbas region, where the initial invasion began eight years earlier. This is where many fear the war will enter a new, even more brutal phase as two entrenched armies fight a modern day war of attrition with tanks and artillery blitzing everything in their path. It will be grinding, and it will be bloody, and there will be destruction and death visited on these lands that will take generations to heal.
[IsraelTimes] Bennett, Gantz, top security officials huddle; PM said to favor targeting Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip, while Gantz, backed by army and Shin Bet, wants broad arrest sweep in West Bank.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Minister Benny Gantz were said to be divided over which of the two options to pursue, during a meeting with top security officials about the terror onslaught.
Jenin was highlighted because most of the Paleostinians who carried out recent terror attacks came from the city or its surroundings, including two men arrested earlier in the day after perpetrating an axe attack last Thursday in the Israeli town of Elad that killed three people and seriously injured several others.t
A broad military operation in Jenin would aim to arrest suspects and prevent further attacks. It would also include additional arrest operations in other towns and cities as well as a show of force across the West Bank, according to reports.
Alternatively, an operation in Gaza would target the Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", terror group, the ruler of the Paleostinian enclave, which is seen as inciting Paleostinians to stage attacks.
The unsourced reports did not specify what a potential Gaza operation would entail.
Gantz, backed by the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet security service, favored a Jenin operation, while Bennett pushed for taking on Gaza, Channel 13 news reported.
[IsraelTimes] Closures, initially imposed over Memorial and Independence Days, were extended after deadly Elad attack; IDF bars residents of Rummanah, hometown of attackers, from entering Israel
"Following an assessment of the security situation, it has been decided this evening (Sunday) to open the crossings in the Judea and Samaria area, except for residents of the village of Rummanah — where the Lions of Islam who committed the terror attack in Elad lived — in the Jenin district," said a statement from COGAT, Israel’s military liaison to the Paleostinians.
The statement said that "until further notice, the Erez Crossing will remain closed to passage for residents of the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Strip."
However, some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves... it noted that "passage will be permitted only in humanitarian, medical, and exceptional cases and subject to approval from the head of COGAT."
The situation will be reassessed later in the week, the statement said.
The shutdown in the West Bank had only applied to Paleostinians. Checkpoints used by Israelis and foreign nationals to enter and exit the West Bank remained open as usual.
Most of the Paleostinians impacted are those who hold permits to work in Israel. About 140,000 West Bank Paleostinians work in Israel and in Israeli settlements. Another 20,000 Paleostinians from Gaza hold permits to work in Israel.
On Thursday, two Paleostinians hacked three Israelis to death with axes in Elad, a majority ultra-Orthodox city in central Israel, Israeli officials said. Police apprehended them earlier Sunday after a long manhunt.
[ZERO] The following is an abridged version of a talk delivered on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, during the question and answer portion of an OpenTheBooks.com virtual event. Videos, media, and other speeches are available at YouTube/OpenTheBooks.
Victor Davis Hanson, earned his B.A. at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and his Ph.D. in classics from Stanford University. He is the author of several books, including A War Like No Other: How the Athenians and Spartans Fought the Peloponnesian War and The Second World Wars: How the First Global Conflict Was Fought and Won. Dr. Hanson is also a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and a professor of classics emeritus at California State University, Fresno.
QUESTON:
Dr. Hanson, You and I are both native Californians. So looking at California, do you think we've lost the state? Or do you have any strategy advice to reverse this current downward trend set up that we have, and bring some success to us? Just in the state of California.
ANSWER — VICTOR DAVIS HANSON:
California is sort of like a prodigal son. We've all had members of our family that we love, and we grew up with and we thought they were stable, and then they take drugs or they get wayward, they get in trouble, but we don't disown them. Well, we don't move away from them. We try to work with them and hope they can find redemption.
I think that's what we're doing in California.
So, there isn’t one Republican statewide officeholder. Republicans only have 11 of 53 Congressional seats. The rest are Democrats. Both houses of the state legislature have super majorities (Democrats). The ninth federal appellate court is the most liberal in the nation. So, they got what they wanted; the left did.
#1
Well, we don't move away from them. We try to work with them and hope they can find redemption.
Well, there sure have been a heck of a lot of them moving to other states. We can only hope they moved because they were fed up with the status quo. Similar movements have occurred in other blue states as well leaving benind high taxes, over-regulaion and corruptocrats.
#2
They came with far fewer skills, and they came in mass over the last 30 years.
Let's see 2022 - 30 = 1992. Wasn't 1992 the year that Bill Clinton won the presidential election? Yeah, it was. He may have been a pervert but he sure knew how to turn California blue. Biden is doing the same thing now to the rest of the country.

So, upper middle class and working and middle class Hispanics (that are 40% of the CA population) are undergoing — I'm not even sure they're fully aware of it in the abstract — the most radical political shift in my lifetime.
The current chair of the California Republican Party is an Hispanic woman and one of the candidates for governor is Hispanic.
Some members of our Asian communities are shifting to the GOP as well, especially those who fled communism in places like China, Cambodia and Vietnam. They know what happens when communists take over and they get very emotional when they talk about it.
So I suppose there is hope. It's exactly the kind of shift that Democrats deserve. I just hope it's not too late.

There are currently NO GOP folks occupying any statewide office positions in CA. None. Dems have super majorities in both houses of the legislature. This is not going to change. I wish it were otherwise but no. I'm born, raised CA. I've seen all that has gone down. Short of getting nuked, nothing is gonna change in CA, the Dems - with the fealty of the CA GOP, have seen to this. At best, we can hope for a blip, but nothing more. CA is nothing more than the Dem's Potemkin Village. None of it is based in reality.

[NYP] History shows us that forced ideological conformity never ends well for Jews, but liberal Jewish institutions keep wanting to give it another go.
In a Wall Street Journal piece, Elliott Abrams and Eric Cohen, respectively chairman and CEO of Tikvah and co-chairmen of the Jewish Leadership Conference, reveal that Manhattan’s Museum of Jewish Heritage canceled a planned JLC event because Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was an invited speaker.
Write Abrams and Cohen: "We were working closely with the museum on the details for the June 12 event — until, out of the blue, we were told by the museum staff that Mr. DeSantis didn’t ’align with the museum’s values and its message of inclusivity.’ Either we disinvite the governor, they said, or our event was unwelcome."
The museum gingerly pushed back. On its Twitter account it said this wasn’t a "free speech or censorship issue" but "simply a contractual and logistical decision," which doesn’t actually contradict what Abrams and Cohen are alleging.
Yes, the museum made the "contractual and logistical decision" to deny rental space to Tikvah, an organization that has hosted many events at the museum, because DeSantis was to be a speaker. It’s not a "free speech or censorship issue" since that implies government is stopping the speech, and that is clearly not happening here.
#1
It's not the government doing it, but (to give another example) the possibility of someone not automatically mandarin-class aligned buying Twitter and loosening the speech codes is a light-your-neon-hair-on-fire-and-scream panic event...
#2
This is vile. Messers Abrams and Cohen should reschedule their event elsewhere, taking out ads in the New York Times and elsewhere to explain that they are doing so because the Museum of Jewish Heritage ha chosen to politicize what had heretofore been an apolitical event.
[Washington Examiner] The privilege of voting is precious to the people and is coveted around the world. Participating in elections is a hallmark of our citizenship. It is arguably the most consequential way that citizens can influence the direction of our republic. Lawmakers have an obligation to guard that privilege vigilantly, but the Biden administration has chosen instead to weaken the protections that ensure the integrity of the ballot.
Last year, President Joe Biden issued Executive Order 14019, "Promoting Access to Voting." This directed every federal agency, agencies that are staffed through partisan appointments, to create a plan to register and mobilize voters. It also orders these agencies to work with organizations such as activist groups to register and mobilize voters in whatever manner they see fit. In doing so, the Biden administration has politicized election processes that were uniquely guarded as a nonpartisan since the ratification of the Constitution in 1788.
There are few details about what the relationship between the federal bureaucrats and state election administrators would look like or where any oversight would occur. And the president has been even more opaque about who will decide which third parties will be selected to participate in these registration and mobilization schemes. As a result, the Foundation for Government Accountability filed a Freedom of Information Act request in July 2021 to obtain various documents pertaining to the executive order.
Nine months later, the Biden administration has yet to provide any meaningful, substantive response or produce any documents that would fulfill the public records request. This is in direct violation of the Department of Justice’s 20-day FOIA response rules. As such, the Foundation for Government Accountability has filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida with the expectation that the court will obligate the Department of Justice to release the requested FOIA materials.
The Biden administration's silence should concern all citizens. Silence, a lack of transparency, and an unwillingness to answer reasonable questions foster doubt in our election processes and election results at every level of government.
Democrats in Washington, led by the president, have tried to maintain unnecessary pandemic-era election policies while creating frivolous new ones. Their efforts would do grave harm to the nation’s electoral process by expanding federal control over state voting norms. Using taxpayer funds to pay political activists to join with federal bureaucrats is an unprecedented seizure of power from voters.
In the meantime, we have no choice but to ask: What is the Biden administration trying to hide?

I still say they lack the manpower. No workers everywhere. Lower standards but even then few takers. These current protests in DC will see low turnout(my opinion, I don't bother to look). Morale is low in the military. Wokeness abounds. So actual workers few and far between.
[American Thinker] Dinesh D’Souza is an effective filmmaker and he didn’t disappoint with 2000 Mules, a riveting documentary examining the way leftist organizations used activists to stuff ballots in the 2020 election (and the 2020 Georgia run-off election that handed the Senate to the Democrats). However, after watching it, I felt there were some unanswered questions that also deserve scrutiny so I hope D’Souza follows up on these issues.
2000 Mules begins with the premise that Trump voters have found it impossible to believe that Trump lost the election. When they contrast his campaign appearances (60,000 screaming fans) with Biden’s campaign appearances (6 vaguely animated lumps sitting in little circles); the bellwether counties states showing Trump winning by a large margin; the significant gains Trump made with Hispanics and Blacks; the millions of votes Trump gained over the four years of his presidency; and the mysterious overnight counting shut-down in the states that ultimately gave Biden his "victory," they know that something is wrong.
The folks at True the Vote also suspected that something was wrong, very wrong. The founder, Catherine Engelbrecht, working with Gregg Philips and a team of computer analysts, came up with a very clever way to determine whether there was fraud. They suspected as much, thanks to the way in which Democrats in key states used COVID as an excuse to increase absentee voting. That included states which allowed only absentee voting with drop boxes across cities and towns, where there had been massive ballot harvesting. That is, people, both real and fake, didn’t fill out their own ballots. Instead, they were collected, completed, and put into drop boxes by partisan and paid activists.
To prove this theory, True the Vote obtained geo-tracking information for major urban areas in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Arizona, allowing them to follow cell phone signals. They marked all the drop boxes and all the facilities for left-wing non-profits. They then looked for cell phones that traveled between the non-profits and drop boxes at least ten times (to be sure to winnow out statistical noise). Through FOIA requests, they also obtained as many videos as they could showing people stuffing multiple ballots into the drop boxes, a completely illegal act.
Their data revealed 2,200 mules in just five cities, visiting between 20 and 45 drop boxes each, at which they dropped off an average of five ballots. When you do the math, the numbers are staggering:
[WashingtonExaminer] A political group funded exclusively by liberal financier George Soros ...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true... has dumped over $100,000 in support of a former public defender running to become a prosecuting attorney in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Soros is the only contributor to the Arkansas Justice and Public Safety PAC, which was founded in mid-April around the same time the financier donated $321,000 to the group. The PAC has since spent about $100,000 on research, polling, and consulting work, and in late April, the group purchased $40,000 worth of television advertisements in support of Alicia Walton's bid to serve as prosecuting attorney in Pulaski and Perry counties, the Arkansas Times reported.
Walton said during an interview in April she wants to empower victims while also providing a pathway for redemption for offenders.
"I have not only worked extensively within the criminal justice system, but I have also been a crime victim," Walton told Black Consumer News. "With that experience in mind, I will work to empower victims, dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline, provide a pathway for offenders to seek redemption, and provide more diversionary programs for those with mental health and substance abuse challenges. It is time for the criminal justice system to work for all of us."
Soros's intervention in the lead-up to the May 24 primary provides a significant boon to Walton, who has raised less than $20,000 for her campaign, according to the Capital Research Center. Walton's opponent, Will Jones, has raised $144,000 for his campaign.
The Arkansas Justice and Public Safety PAC is led by Whitney Tymas, who is also listed as the director or treasurer for similarly named Soros-funded groups that support liberal prosecutors in at least 12 other states.
"What we're really doing is leveling the playing field," Tymas told the New York Times
... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... in 2019, noting that district attorney races often have low voter engagement.
All candidates in the prosecuting attorney race run as nonpartisans, but the Republican Party of Arkansas expressed glee at Soros's intervention in Little Rock.
"Crime increases around the Nation where George Soros funded DAs and Prosecutors reign," the party said in a statement. "Now as crime is on the rise in Little Rock, Soros turns his attention and cash to the Central Arkansas Prosecuting Attorney's Race, supporting soft on crime Alicia Walton."
Soros has contributed more than $29 million in support of over 20 liberal district attorneys since 2016, according to the Capital Research Center.
Many of the prosecutors who won their elections thanks in part to contributions by Soros have presided over significant crime waves in their cities after assuming office.
President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Being a self-defined foreign policy whiz kid means never having to say you're sorry... and Democratic mayors in blue cities across the country have signaled in recent months a reversal from the "defund the police" mantra championed by liberal politicians in 2020.
[Dawn] Sitting in an office lined with books overlooking a giant prayer hall, Mohammed Ashfaq Kazi, the main preacher at the largest mosque in Mumbai, checked a decibel meter attached to the loudspeakers before he gave the call to worship.
"The volume of our azaan (call to prayer) has become a political issue, but I don't want it to take a communal turn," said Kazi, one of the most influential Islamic scholars in the sprawling metropolis on India's western coast.
As he spoke he pointed to loudspeakers attached to the minarets of the ornate, sand-coloured Juma Masjid in Mumbai's old trading quarters.
Kazi and three other senior holy mans from Maharashtra where Mumbai is located said more than 900 mosques in the west of the state had agreed to turn the volume down on calls to prayer following complaints from a local Hindu politician.
Raj Thackeray, leader of a regional Hindu party, demanded in April that mosques and others places of worship kept within allowed noise limits. If they did not, he said his followers would chant Hindu prayers outside mosques in protest.
Thackeray, whose party has just one seat in the state's 288-member assembly, said he was merely insisting that court rulings on noise levels be enforced.
"If religion is a private matter then why are Moslems allowed to use loudspeakers all 365 days (of the year)?" Thackeray told news hounds in Mumbai, India's financial hub and capital of Maharashtra.
"My dear Hindu brothers, sisters and mothers come together; be one in bringing down these loudspeakers," he said.
Leaders of India's 200 million Moslems see the move, which coincided with the holy festival of Eid, as another attempt by hardline Hindus to undermine their rights to free worship and religious expression, with the tacit agreement of the ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In recent weeks, a senior BJP leader began pushing for swapping marriage and inheritance laws based on religion with a uniform civil code, taking aim at rules that allow Moslem men, for example, to have four wives.
The BJP did not respond to a request for comment on Thackeray's initiative. It denies targeting minorities, and says it wants progressive change that benefits all Indians.
POLICE STEP IN
At the Juma Masjid, Kazi said he complied with Thackeray's demands in order to reduce the risk of violence between Moslems and Hindus.
Bloody festivities have erupted sporadically across India since independence, most recently in 2020 when dozens of people, mostly Moslems, were killed in Delhi following protests against a citizenship law that Moslems said discriminated against them.
While hardline Hindu leaders were seeking to undermine Islam, Kazi said, "we (Moslems) have to maintain calm and serenity." The state took Thackeray's initiative seriously.
Senior police officials met religious leaders including Kazi earlier this month to ensure microphones were turned down, as they feared festivities in Maharashtra, home to more than 10 million Moslems and 70 million Hindus.
On Saturday, police filed a criminal case against two men in Mumbai for using loudspeakers to recite the early morning azaan and warned workers of Thackeray's party from gathering around mosques.
"Under no circumstances will we allow anyone to create communal tension in the state and the court's order must be respected," said V.N. Patil, a senior Mumbai police official.
A bigwig for Thackeray's party said the initiative was not designed to single out Moslems but aimed to reduce "noise pollution" created by all places of worship.
"Our party does not appease the minority community," said Kirtikumar Shinde, adding that police had issued warnings to 20,000 party workers this month.
The issue of calls to prayer extends beyond Maharashtra. BJP politicians in three states asked local police to remove or limit the use of loudspeakers in places of worship.
The deputy chief minister of the country's most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, said over 60,000 unauthorised loudspeakers had been removed from mosques and temples.
[OneIndia] Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur condemned the incident of raising 'Khalistan' flags on the main gate and boundary wall of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala on Sunday morning.
"I condemn the cowardly incident of raising Khalistan flags at the gate of Dharamshala Assembly Complex in the dark of night. Only winter session is held here, so there is a need for more security arrangements only during that time," Thakur tweeted in Hindi.
He has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter and said that and strict action would be taken against the culprits. "Taking advantage of this, this cowardly incident has been carried out, but we will not tolerate it. This incident will be investigated immediately and strict action will be taken against the culprits. I would like to tell those people that if you have the courage, then come out in the light of day, not in the dark of night," he added further.
After the incident came to light, the cops flung into action and removed it from the gates and walls, Superintendent of police, Kangra, Khushal Sharma said.
Sharma suspected the hand of "some tourists from Punjab" behind the incident. "It might have happened late night or early morning today. We have removed the Khalistan flags from the Vidhan Sabha ...After the Libyan Civil War, Sabha grew in importance as a slave auctioning town. However, an investigation by the National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) revealed that while there was illegal slavery, reports were exaggerated, as slave auctions were rare and not made public. This was a great comfort to everyone but the slaves peddled in secret. The city was later seized by forces loyal to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and its leader Khalifa Haftar in January 2019, probably for its collection of MiG-25 aircraft.... gate. It could be an act of some tourists from Punjab," the SP said.
The police will register a case into the matter today, he further informed.
[Dawn] Around 800 Pak Hindus in Rajasthan, who came to India seeking citizenship on the basis of alleged religious persecution, returned to the country in 2021, according to Seemant Lok Sangathan (SLS), a group that advocates for the rights of Pak minority migrants colonists in India, The Hindu said on Sunday.
It quoted SLS as saying that many of the returnees went home after finding no progress in their citizenship application.
Their return is said to be embarrassing for India where the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) initiated an online citizenship application process in 2018. It also made 16 Collectors in seven States to accept online applications to grant citizenship to Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jain and Buddhists from Pakistain, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
The religiously-based citizenship law has been challenged by India’s opposition groups. A bureaucratic red-tape is a hindrance. Though the entire process is online, The Hindu said, the portal does not accept Pak passports that have expired, forcing people seeking refuge to rush to the Pakistain High Commission in Delhi to get their passports renewed for a hefty sum.
"If it is a family of ten, then they end up spending more than Rs1 lakh at the Pakistain High Commission to get the passports renewed. These people come to India amid great financial hardships and to cough up such a high amount of money is not feasible," an SLS official was quoted as saying.
The MHA informed the Rajya Sabha ...After the Libyan Civil War, Sabha grew in importance as a slave auctioning town. However, an investigation by the National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) revealed that while there was illegal slavery, reports were exaggerated, as slave auctions were rare and not made public. This was a great comfort to everyone but the slaves peddled in secret. The city was later seized by forces loyal to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and its leader Khalifa Haftar in January 2019, probably for its collection of MiG-25 aircraft.... on December 22, 2021, that according to the online module, as many as 10,635 applications for citizenship were pending with the Ministry as on December 14, of which 7,306 applicants were from Pakistain.
According to Mr Singh, there are 25,000 Pak Hindus in Rajasthan alone who have been awaiting citizenship, some for more than two decades. Many of them have applied in the offline mode.
In 2015, the MHA amended the Citizenship Rules and legalised the stay of foreign migrants colonists belonging to six communities, who had entered India on or before December 2014 due to persecution on grounds of religion, by exempting them from the provisions of the Passport Act and the Foreigners Act as their passports had expired.
[Dawn] THE danger is clear and present: militancy is on the upswing and matters could get worse before they get better.
As per statistics released by the Pakistain Institute for Conflict and Security Studies, April saw a 24pc increase in bully boy attacks as compared to the month before. There were 34 such attacks in April with a corpse count of 55. At least 25 people were maimed. In March, the attacks numbered 26, but the casualty figures were much higher — 77 dead and 288 injured — largely on account of the devastating suicide kaboom at a Shia mosque in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire... on the fourth day of the month which was claimed by the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group’s Khorasan chapter.
The frequency of attacks in March was twice that in February, indicating a rapidly worsening security scenario. Most of the violence took place in the tribal districts, parts of which have become hotbeds of militancy once again, followed by the rest of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and then Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... The second coming of the Afghan Taliban ...Arabic for students... last year has had a negative fallout on Pakistain’s security landscape. In fact, Lions of Islam of all stripe seem to have been emboldened by the success of the Death Eater force in driving out the world’s sole superpower.
There is an eerily symbiotic connection between the new regime’s takeover of Kabul and the rise in militancy in this country. The year 2021 saw the highest number of bully boy attacks in Pakistain after a consistent decline of six years — with the maximum occurring in August, the very month the Afghan Taliban seized power next door.
It soon became clear that, contrary to their pledges to the international community, Kabul’s new rulers were not going to take any action against the banned TTP, or any other violent mostly peaceful Death Eater outfit for that matter, that are taking refuge on their soil. This was partly because they feared that such action could drive some from its own ranks towards other bully boy groups. But the situation also presented the Afghan Taliban with the opportunity to repay the TTP for giving them safe harbour in erstwhile Fata when they were fleeing the US forces invading Afghanistan. At most, they were willing to facilitate talks between their ideological brothers-in-arms and the Pak state.
After the failure of the short-lived truce that came about as a result, the TTP has not looked back. Pakistain needs to neutralise the threats emerging on its western flank without delay.
[DW] A device that was discovered Friday in the basement of Ria Novosti's office in Berlin's Steglitz district was "probably incendiary," according to police. An investigation into the "dangerous object" is still ongoing.
A device found in the building of a Russian news agency in Berlin was "probably" explosive, German police said Saturday.
Police had initially been called to the location on Friday afternoon after an empty beer bottle was thrown at the building's facade.
The device was discovered in the basement of a place "housing the office of a Russian press agency," Ria Novosti, in the city's Steglitz district, police said Saturday.
"Yesterday, emergency services found a dangerous object at the building of a Russian news agency in Steglitz, which was probably an incendiary device," Berlin police tweeted. "It was destroyed by specialists."
UNCLEAR INTENTIONS
Whether it was a deliberate attack was initially unclear, a police spokesperson told German news agency DPA.
"There are also offices of other companies in the building," the spokesperson said. "The background is not yet known, the investigation is ongoing."
RIA NOVOSTI CLAIMS 'POSSIBLE TERROR ATTACK'
The Russian state-owned news agency reacted on Telegram by saying that the placing of the device constituted "a possible terrorist attack against Russian journalists and their families" in Berlin.
The incident came as Russia prepares to hold traditional Victory Day festivities on Monday to mark the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany while tensions endure over its invasion of Ukraine.
Regarding the May 9 commemorations, domestic intelligence in Germany is expecting "car parades and demonstrations" in support of Russia, and possibly the invasion of Ukraine, to take place in Berlin and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Russian state-owned news agency RIA Novosti is headquartered in Moscow.
[BenarNews] Russia’s arms sales to Southeast Asia have plummeted because of international sanctions imposed since the start of the Ukraine crisis in 2014 and the ongoing war will likely lead to a further decline, creating market opportunities for China and other countries, a new report says.
An article in the bulletin ISEAS Perspective published by the ISEAS —Yusof Ishak Institute, a Singapore-based research institution, has found that Russia’s defense industry has been hit hard, with export values reduced from U.S. $1.2 billion in 2014 to just $89 million in 2021.
Cumulatively Russia has been on top of the list of arms suppliers to Southeast Asia over the last two decades but the sales are likely to fall further and regional countries will look to divert their weapons contracts to other countries, the report says.
Data provided by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) show that in 2021 alone, Russia slipped behind the United States and China.
According to the ISEAS Perspective article’s author, academic Ian Storey, the biggest reason behind the fall is sanctions and export controls that the U.S. and Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... imposed on Russia’s defense industry since its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014.
Those restrictions haven’t necessarily prevented Southeast Asian nations from buying Russian arms, but there is less on offer as Russian manufacturers face difficulties in conducting financial transactions and accessing technologies and critical components.
"The conflict brought to an abrupt end longstanding and extensive cooperation between Ukrainian and Russian defense companies, especially in the production of engines for surface ships, helicopters and aircraft," Storey said.
Another factor is a pause in the military modernization program in Vietnam, Russia’s biggest customer in Southeast Asia. Hanoi began the program in the late 1990s and in the period 1995-2021, it bought weapons and military equipment valued at $7.4 billion from Russia. That accounted for more than 80 percent of Vietnam’s total arms imports.

Another wishful article…Not sure the writer realize that after this so called special operation in Ukraine, Russia will hit a jackpot selling missile technology to south east Asia, India, Iran, Gulf countries etc.

A bigger factor than sanctions is the poor performance of the Russian military. If the originating country can't get decent performance from their weapons...

The old argument was that 'others' had been operating the equipment and that the problem was in the users implementation not the product. Now the manufacturer is actually using the goods and its still below contemporary standards in the field. Well, its still good enough to keep the peasants down and cheaper than the competition as long as you're not going to engage in first world warfare.

The SU-35 sales have been tanking for a while after Egypt got their hands on some and found they were shit and canceled the orders. Same with the S-300 after Israel bombed the shit out Syria at will.
Russia will still be able to sell missiles, guns and anti-tank weapons like usual but their "high tech" stuff is taking hits as the world sees it as the crap it is.

The principal selling point of Russian arms is "no questions asked". That's a pretty big deal, given all the political conditions imposed by Western arms manufacturers.
The other selling point is kickbacks/commissions to the people the purchasing country has deputized to acquire weaponry. The Russians will gladly tack on the cost of these add-ons to the final price tag. Western arms sales people might provide non-cash incentives, but cash on the barrelhead to purchasing reps is generally a no-no, and risks prison terms for the sales team, thanks to the FCPA.
Buying agents don't really care if the weaponry works - only that they get their commissions/kickbacks. As long as palm-greasing continues to be standard practice in the Russian arms industry, Russian weaponry will continue to have a market.

China is trying to fill that role. However, they can't find many buyers for their J-11 and J-16 fighters either as they are crappier than the Russian jets.
[AlAhram] Ami Sana hangs a tattered tarp for a bit of shade where she can rest on a break from pounding stones under the scorching sun.
"The work is hard. It makes my body weak, but what else can I do?'' she asked.
The mother of six is one of 2 million people displaced by Burkina Faso ...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other... 's rapidly rising Islamic holy warrior violence, according to the UN.
Amid the clamor of clanging pickaxes and falling rocks, Sana has found work in the Pissy granite mine on the outskirts of Burkina Faso's capital, Ouagadougou.
Lifting heavy rocks and hammering them into gravel to sell to construction companies is tough work that doesn't earn her enough to adequately feed or educate her children, Sana said. But it's the best work that she could find.
The rush of civilians from rural villages plagued by holy warrior violence has put pressure on Burkina Faso's cities.
"Some of the host cities have doubled or tripled in size in the past three years, and their infrastructures are often stretched to a breaking point,'' said Hassane Hamadou, country director for the Norwegian Refugee Council.
"Schools can't absorb all the new children, water points can't provide enough for all. Hundreds of thousands are left without access to an education, clean water or healthcare as a result,'' he said.
The influx of displaced people is causing competition among the approximately 3,000 people working at the granite mine. At least 500 displaced people started working at the mine last year making it harder for the original miners to earn a living, said Abiba Tiemtore, head of the site.
"With more people, it's hard to collect as many rocks and it's impacting our daily income,'' she said. Miners who used to make approximately $1 a day say they are now lucky if they make 80 cents.
When it seized power in January, Burkina Faso's ruling junta vowed to stamp out holy warrior violence but it has done little about the swelling numbers of displaced.
The government has a responsibility to provide the swelling numbers of displaced with those social services, said Alexandra Lamarche, senior advocate for West and Central Africa for Refugees International.
The minister of humanitarian affairs did not respond to a request for comment on the situation.
So far the junta has not succeeded in stemming the holy warrior violence. In January, 160,000 people were newly displaced, the second-largest monthly increase in three years, according to a report by international aid groups. Hard-hit areas like the Center North region, which hosts Burkina Faso's largest displaced population, are buckling under the pressure.
"The impact of people moving from their farms into big cities is disorientation (and) the increase of poverty (and) fear,'' said Abdoulaye Pafadnam, former mayor of Barsalogho, one of the main towns in the Center North region.
The violence is cutting off access for aid groups to reach people in need. Roads that were safe to travel six months ago are lined with explosives and the United Nations ...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly... had only one helicopter until recently to transport people and aid across the country.
The pressure on cities has also started creating rifts between some host and displaced communities. In the northern town of Ouahigouya, people sheltering in a crowded displacement camp said locals chase them from the forest if they try to chop wood for cooking, accusing them of trying to destroy it.
With no end to the jihadi violence in sight, the numbers of Burkina Faso's displaced are expected to continue flooding urban centers where they'll be hunting for jobs.
"I worry that I have no means to take care of my children,'' said Fati Ouedraogo, a displaced mother of 10 in Ouahigouya. "When the children are crying I don't know what to

[KhaamaPress] According to the developer company, the receivers will be able to manage the computer merely with their thoughts thanks to the technology.
According to Bloomberg, the American company Synchron, the major competitor of Elon Musk’s Neuralink, has begun testing its brain implant in humans.
The paperclip-sized implant will be put in six patients with acute paralysis in New York and Pittsburgh. The device should assist people in managing digital devices simply through the power of thinking.
The stentrode implant (named after the terms stent and electrode) is a type of brain-computer interface. A stent is a malleable metal frame containing electrodes that record neural signals in the brain.
The prosthesis is placed through a puncture in the jugular vein in a minimally invasive operation that does not necessitate accessing the skull. Once in a blood artery above the motor cortex — the portion of the brain responsible for movement — it stretches, the electrodes are close to the walls of the blood vessel close to the brain, and it could record neural signals.
Signals are transferred from the brain to a device placed beneath the skin in the chest. Hands-free activities such as texting, email, online shopping, and accessing medical services are possible thanks to the translation of brain activity into a standardized digital language.
A clinical trial should be conducted to determine how efficacious and useful the implant is. The Stentrode could be commercially available if the trials are successful.
Neuralink, Elon Musk’s business, is also working on a small device that can connect the human brain to a machine interface. Musk claims that an implant for patients with severe traumatic brain damage will be available in four years, and that the technology would be accessible to anybody in ten years.
People will be able to boost their productivity by multiple times, command the digital world with the power of thought, connect with the dead, and so on, Musk claims.

Kalma is home to over 100,000 displaced people who fled their areas and villages during the counterinsurgency campaign launched by Sudanese government bully boyz in 2003.
In a statement to the Sudan Tribune, the general coordinator of the displaced people camps in Darfur Yagoub Fori accused a government force without indicating their affiliation of attacking a training of the youth football team, organized by the junior team in Kalma camp.

"The assailants belong to a well-known regular force as it is confirmed by the license plate number of their vehicle," he stressed.
Speaking about the circumstances of the incident, Ezaldin Musa, a resident of the camp, told Sudan Tribune that the football team objected to the intrusion of the button men into the training field.
"In response, the gunnies fired several rounds of bullets at the youth before fleeing," he added.

In the video there was a *pop* in the roof mounted battery pack and within 5-to-6 seconds it had burned through to the cabin. It was a *cough* Energetic Reaction *cough* that looked like a thermite burn -- made me a believer that the technology isn't viable yet, truly.

We don't call 'environmentalists' watermelons for no reason. Green on the outside and red inside when they spontaneously combust. The buses were just doing their part to cull as the greenies want to do.

My son works at a Large Southeastern Metro Fire Station.
They are fighting more and more Electric Vehicle Fires. Thermal Runaway makes fighting the fire really a surround and control process to reduce spreading.
Some places have even put signs up forbidding Electric Vehicle parking near their buildings.
Take a few seconds. Now, after the combustion you see what most people would think to do when unprepared and ignorant - something I believe we can agree on over the last 2 years - go get some water ASAP and douse the flame..dude was lucky he slipped. Watch how quickly fumes fill that room, and these ain't old campfire smells, this is the same aisle as mtth production fumes. Lucky it wasn't raining.

Maybe the bus driver can give us a little egress safety spiel before engaging the clutch. Something like: “Hail Mary full of grace…”

If SNL was funny they might do a skit about this.
Have a 'stewardess' go thru the two-minute safety, drop-down-oxygen, and exit protocol with every stop. And of course the oxygen for the drop-down masks is stored in the ceiling panels close to the batteries... perfectly safe.

[AyPee] Afghanistan’s Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... rulers on Saturday ordered all Afghan women to wear head-to-toe clothing in public — a sharp, hard-line pivot that confirmed the worst fears of rights activists and was bound to further complicate Taliban dealings with an already distrustful international community. The decree says that women should leave the home only when necessary, and that male relatives would face punishment — starting with a summons and escalating up to court hearings and jail time — for women’s dress code violations.
It was the latest in a series of repressive edicts issued by the Taliban leadership, not all of which have been implemented. Last month, for example, the Taliban forbade women to travel alone, but after a day of opposition, that has since been silently ignored.
On Sunday in the capital, Kabul, many women on the street were wearing the same large shawls as before. Women also arrived unaccompanied at Kabul International Airport, while in the city women boarded small buses alone.
The United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said it was deeply concerned with what appeared to be a formal directive that would be implemented and enforced, adding that it would seek clarifications from the Taliban about the decision.

10:04 British intelligence notes that Russia is transferring high-ranking commanders to the battlefield, but this is unlikely to help her. Difficulties with command and control, as well as the poor performance of the Russians on the front line, dragged senior commanders onto the battlefield, who presumably took personal control of operations. Russian commanders rarely delegate operational authority to their subordinates, who in turn do not gain vital command experience.
However, it is not clear whether the presence of these commanders on the battlefield led to an improvement or change in the operational concept. Planning errors and failures continue to undermine RF progress.
Placing commanders on the front line exposes them to significant risk, resulting in a disproportionately high loss of Russian officers in this war. Accordingly, forces react slowly to setbacks and cannot change their approach on the battlefield. These challenges are likely to remain unchanged given the relative lack of operational command experience among assigned officers.

“In my opinion, this is a brilliant statement. It is on the same line as Mr. Lavrov’s statement regarding the state of Israel. All this really shows what the political elite of the Russian Federation is thinking about. Putin is not just thinking about this, they are thinking about it, they live in this, they boil in it. These are their blood vessels, through which these infectious bacteria travel, the desire to destroy everyone," the adviser to the head of the OP said.

A response to the Russian story a few days ago saying the same thing: that Ukrainians don't take their dead from the Russians in corpse exchanges so they don't have to acknowledge them.

/\ Yes, the real tragedy. Young men and women on both sides who absolutely have no interest in war. Old people and children caught in the shredder. All because of some lunatic, power hungry politician. Absolutely sickening.
[PJMEDIA] To hear Democrats today, outrage over the possible overturning of Roe v. Wade will cause a blue wave this November. It’s an amusing theory that doesn’t quite hold up under scrutiny. Even Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) pointed out earlier this week that child sacrifice abortion is by no means the number one issue in his state. "Inflation is the number one driving factor I believe in my state. Right now, it’s hurting everybody, not just at the pump, but at the grocery store, at the drug store, at the pharmaceutical. Everything they do," he explained.
Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem mschine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family... ’s cheerleaders at CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... seem to agree. On Thursday, the left-wing network acknowledged that, according to their latest poll, Biden is near "the point of no return with Americans on the economy" and dangerously close to an "irreversible severing of public confidence in his capacity to deliver prosperity and financial security."
And Biden is taking his entire party down with him.
CNN surprisingly acknowledged the Democrats’ "looming political disaster" in the upcoming midterms because "the White House initially underestimated and has failed to tame" inflation.
"The party seems stuck in a dangerous political position of insisting the economy is doing well while voters think it’s in the tank," the analysis reads.
While the poll was taken before the leak of the draft majority opinion in Dobbs, CNN concedes that the numbers for Biden are so bad, that it won’t be enough to turn things around for them. "The depth of voter disquiet about the economy also suggests that a potential backlash against the Supreme Court possibly overturning the nationwide right to child sacrifice abortion may not save Democrats in November."

[BIZPACREVIEW] U.S. Rep. Eric I farted on national television Swalwell ... U.S. Representative-for-Life from Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,'s 15th congressional district since 2013. Naturally he's a Dem. His district covers most of eastern Alameda County and part of central Contra Costa County. He was rapidly eliminated from the 2020 Dem nomination pool. He looks a lot like Greg Marmelard, and has the distinction of being one of the few politicians to ever fart on national teevee... has once again made a complete fool of himself, this time with a defense of child sacrifice abortion in which he brought up the completely unrelated issue of school shootings to blame Republicans for mass murder as justification for his support for the killing of the unborn.
Drawing on President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. S I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass.... ’s recent demonizing of nearly half of the American electorate whom he accused of being the "most extreme political organization" in the nation’s history, the California Democrat upped the ante with his latest unhinged Twitter outburst.
"You know who had a heartbeat? Every child murdered in their school because Republicans are the party of mass shooters. This isn’t about heartbeats. This is about criminalizing women," wrote Swalwell.
Democrats and their allies have been more hyperactive on Twitter than usual this week following the shocking leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion suggesting that the landmark child sacrifice abortion ruling Roe v. Wade may be struck down, sending leftists into a frenzy with the crazed rantings of leading party members including Senator Elizabeth Being Native American has been part of my story since the day I was born Warren ...The Great White Squaw, Lizzie is the Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts. She traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. She has high cheekbones that stretch all the way to the top of her head. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that. She had a DNA test to prove her lineage and it turns out she's colorless... egging on those who are emotionally fragile, with some activists going so far as to put out maps with the approximate addresses to the homes of conservative justices.
Swalwell’s conflating of mass shootings and child sacrifice abortion rights is utterly ridiculous to anyone who is capable of rational thinking, unfortunately, that does not include the vast majority of the party’s base of "woke" mouth breathers who, having already faced no consequences for violence, rioting and political intimidation during the summer of 2020, wouldn’t need much to push them to act out against Republican targets this year when tempers rise along with the temperatures.

[FoxNews] Alleged subway shooter Frank James has been indicted after authorities say he shot multiple people on a Brooklyn train station last month.
According to the indictment from the United States District Court Eastern District of New York, a grand jury indicted James with carrying out a terror attack against a mass transit system as well as discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
New York City Police, left, and law enforcement officials lead subway shooting suspect Frank R. James, 62, center, away from a cop shoppe, in New York, Wednesday, April 13, 2022. The man accused of shooting multiple people on a Brooklyn subway train was arrested Wednesday and charged with a federal terrorism offense.
If convicted on the first count, James faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. If convicted on the second count, James faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison with a maximum of life in prison.
No date has been set for the arraignment.
James is accused of injuring 29 people in a Sunset Park, Brooklyn, subway station around 8:25 a.m. on the morning of April 12. James was allegedly aboard a Manhattan-bound N train during morning rush-hour when he placed a gas mask on his face, activated a smoke canister and opened fire inside the train and on the platform of the 36th Street subway station.

"O Nabih be at ease, Berlin has become Shiyyah," Berri supporters are seen chanting in videos and on live television, referring to the Beirut southern suburb of Shiyyah, which is a stronghold of Berri and his Amal Movement.
The Amal Movement also enjoys a strong presence in Germany, especially in the capital Berlin.
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.
A bit of background:
The Ukrainian 36th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade was the main component defending at Shirokino on the northern coast of the Sea of Azov, starting from about March, 2015. In Rantburg's archives are several stories about this unit, ending with how they successfully forced the separatists out of Shirokino after many weeks of fighting.
Accompanying the 36th was the Azov Battalion, with its bases being Mariupol.
[ColonelCassad] The commander of the 36th separate marine brigade, Colonel Baranyuk, was not killed during an unsuccessful attempt to break through from the territory of the Ilyich plant.
In fact, Colonel Baranyuk was taken prisoner.
It is obvious that misinformation was launched about the death of Baranyuk while his interrogations were going on + perhaps Baranyuk himself was used to speed up the surrender of the remaining forces of the 36th brigade at the plant named after Ilyich.
One way or another, this is the first captured brigade commander since the beginning of the NWO.
Another video (https://t.me/boris_rozhin/47583?single) with the captured brigade commander of the 36th infantry regiment Baranyuk and his chief of staff lieutenant colonel Kormyakov, who was also captured during an unsuccessful attempt to break out from the territory of the Ilyich plant.
Valuable catch for military intelligence.
Here is a video of part of Col. Baranyuk's interrogation, in which he discusses the different command structures, his infantry brigade under the Ukrainian ministry of defense and navy, and the Azov Battalion under the Ukrainian interior ministry.
The translation itself is not very good, but the video is translatable.
Adds Russian Spring:
The brigade commander, Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Volodymyr Baranyuk and Chief of Staff Colonel Dmitry Kormyankov were captured after an attempt to leave the Azovmash plant and have already testified about the circumstances of their capture and their conduct of hostilities in Mariupol.
They say that the Marines and the command of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not hesitate to fight side by side with the Azov National Battalion, according to a video recording of the testimony of the brigade commander and the brigade chief of staff, made at one of the points on the territory of the DPR.
"I went to the headquarters of Azov. We saw the literature, the pictures that are there. And the flags that are Nazi, Germany. Were with them... I'm not interested in literature that talks about Nazism and fascist symbols. I’m not interested in this," says Chief of Staff Colonel Dmitry Kormyankov.
Of course, in captivity, he quickly turned into an anti-fascist who fought side by side with the neo-Nazis exclusively "as part of the order."
"To fight not shoulder to shoulder, but to fight within the framework of a combat order received from a senior commander. Within the boundaries that are determined for you by the senior commander," he answers the question of whether he is interested in fighting together with the Azov people.
The same story with the brigade commander Baranyuk: interesting things are revealed in captivity.
Once in captivity, he declared that he was "a categorical opponent of all sorts of Nazi moments like these."
"These were not my colleagues. So by the will of fate it turned out that they were my neighbors at that moment. During the defense of Mariupol. It could be like any other unit… At least I didn’t see people with UPA* books and, let’s say, with Nazi symbols," said Baranyuk.
During the defense, he claims to have received "a certain sector of defense." “Both to my right and to my left were units of the Azov battalion,” he added.
Azov brands Colonel Baranyuk as a coward:
"Azov" began to brand the commander of the marines of the 36th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladimir Baranyuk, who was taken prisoner.
A member of a neo-Nazi gang today, during a press conference broadcast from the Azovstal plant, said that Baranyuk "ran away like a coward, thinking only of himself, forgetting about his duty."
“He refused to obey the order (of the Nazis from Azov,” RV note) and tried to flee the city with a small group in armored vehicles, trying to break through, ”said a gang member.
Recall that video evidence appeared today that brigade commander Baranyuk and chief of staff of the 36th brigade Dmitry Kormyankov were captured, and not killed, as previously thought.
As Russkaya Vesna reported, Kormyankov sharply turned into an anti-fascist in captivity , saying that “all these neo-Nazi things” were never close to him personally. He spoke extremely negatively about "Azov" and "Azov", saying that the marines were subordinated to "Azov", whose commanders led the defense of the city. Thus, trying to remove at least part of the responsibility for war crimes.
[NYPOST] Sen. Mitch McConnell, the top Republican in the Senate, said national child sacrifice abortion legislation is "possible" if the Supreme Court strikes down Roe v. Wade.
"If the leaked opinion became the final opinion, legislative bodies — not only at the state level but at the federal level — certainly could legislate in that area," the Kentucky Republican told USA Today.
"And if this were the final decision, that was the point that it should be resolved one way or another in the legislative process. So yeah, it’s possible," McConnell said.
The debate over child sacrifice abortion rights has taken on new emphasis since the revelation last week of a draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito that shows the court is poised to strike down the 1973 landmark decision as early as June.
In the opinion, Alito wrote that "Roe was egregiously wrong from the start" and argued that states should decide on whether to restrict child sacrifice abortion rights.
Some Republicans have been more critical of the leaking of the document than what’s in the decision, fearing a potential backlash at the polls during November’s 2022 midterm elections.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] At least 11 members of the Egyptian military, including an officer, have been killed in an armed attack on the Sinai Peninsula, an army front man said.
Five security personnel were also injured in the attack, the army front man has said, adding that the security forces "foiled a terrorist attack" on a water-lifting station east of the Suez Canal.
"The terrorist elements are being chased and besieged in one of the isolated areas in Sinai," the front man added in a statement on Saturday, AlJazeera reported.
The military gave no further details or the attack’s precise location, but two northern Sinai residents told News Agency that Dare Not be Named the attack took place in the town of Qantara in the province of Ismailia, which stretches eastwards from the Suez Canal.
No group grabbed credit for Saturday’s ambush, one of the deadliest attacks against Egyptian security forces in recent years.
Last week, suspected fighters blew up a natural gas pipeline in northern Sinai’s town of Bir al-Abd, causing a fire but no casualties.

various groups, e.g., salafist, al q, ISIS, etc have been involved
in 2021, most of the attacks against Egypt were ISIS or ISIS allies. One group, the Army of Islam, works with Hamas to train fighters in Gaza then sends them to carry out attacks against Egypt in the Sinai under ISIS instruction

[NYPOST] As many as 60 people were feared to have been killed in the Russian bombing of a village school in the eastern Ukrainian region of Luhansk, the regional governor said on Sunday.
Governor Serhiy Gaidai said Russian forces dropped a bomb on Saturday afternoon on the school in Bilohorivka where about 90 people were sheltering, causing a fire that engulfed the building.
"The fire was extinguished after nearly four hours, then the rubble was cleared, and, unfortunately, the bodies of two people were found," Gaidai wrote on the Telegram messaging app.
"Thirty people were evacuated from the rubble, seven of whom were maimed. Sixty people were likely to have died under the rubble of buildings."

[GatewayPundit] The virtual premiere for the movie ’2000 Mules’ was held last night live from Las Vegas.
In the film, Dinesh D’Souza and True the Vote provide answers and evidence on the stolen 2020 Election. The explosive documentary was released on Tuesday at select theaters across the nation.
According to the evidence discussed in the movie, if you factor in just the Mule ballot traffickers: Trump won with 305 electoral votes. That does not even count all the other fraud that occurred during the election like the mysterious ballot drops at 3 in the morning or the questionable machines.
In April, TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk went on with Joe Hoft on 93.3 FM to discuss the movie. Kirk, who is featured in the film, said this about the evidence collected for the film, "They saw that some of these mules would visit these drop boxes every night. And then go to Stacey Abrams ...sour grapes lo-o-o-o-o-ser (Loser! Loser! Loser!) of the 2018 Georgia governor's race. Now she wants to be somebody's vice president so she can sour grape about that too... ’ headquarters and then go back to the drop boxes.
The movie discusses the Democrat-linked stash houses but does not mention any names or locations.
Last night Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips announced they will be releasing ALL of the addresses of the ballot stash houses.
Stecey Abrams may want to find a good lawyer.
On Saturday night political columnist Brian Cates posted this on the stash houses:
Tonight during the virtual premiere of 2000 Mules, Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips announced they will be releasing ALL the addresses of the stash houses run by the NGO’s that were orchestrating this massive criminal racketeering operation in multiple states.
This also helps explain how a radical Marxist candidate like Rafael Warnock can win in Georgia.

The Rental Agency Car Cleaners found 1,000's of illegally printed ballots left in the car trunk and called the GBI/GSP/APD.
I seemed to have missed the GBI/GSP/FBI investigation results, and the name of the Stacy Abrams campaign worker indicted for voter fraud?

OH! a google search fails to show it ever happened now? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm! I wonder how that happened?
[NYPOST] Of course the ink is barely dry on the Supreme Court’s draft decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, and a draft is not quite a ruling, but it’s been refreshing to finally be hearing nothing from business leaders on this contentious cultural issue.
Maybe our corporate elite has finally woken up to the notion that it’s bad business to piss off more than half the country with virtue-signaling on progressive issues. Or maybe they’re ignoring the political noise and keeping busy doing what they get paid to do — trying to run profitable companies that provide returns for their shareholders.
Either way, silence is golden, and we can thank Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for making it happen.
DeSantis did something that would have made movie character Jimmy Malone proud. Malone, played by Sean Connery in the 1987 flick "The Untouchables," is the tough, veteran cop who explained to Eliot Ness how to beat Al Capone and his criminal gang: "They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue."
For the record: I’m NOT advocating violence in defeating the corporate wokesters, or anyone for that matter.
But there is something to be said about following Jimmy Malone’s logic and taking the battle to corporate woke gangsters if they choose to become an arm of the AOC-Elizabeth Being Native American has been part of my story since the day I was born Warren ...The Great White Squaw, Lizzie is the Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts. She traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. She has high cheekbones that stretch all the way to the top of her head. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that. She had a DNA test to prove her lineage and it turns out she's colorless... wing of the Democratic Party ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... . And that’s exactly what DeSantis did in his battle and convincing victory over the virtue-signaling of the Disney theme-park and entertainment corporate empire.
According to my sources, the C-suite types weren’t just closely watching but also learning something about a new brand of GOP politics after DeSantis counter-punched Disney CEO Bob Chapek.
Chapek thought it was a smart idea to follow the lead of some of his far-left employees who demanded he speak out against a Florida law they inaccurately and libelously dubbed "Don’t Say Gay."
Keep in mind, the law doesn’t say that all; it merely states that kids from kindergarten through the third grade don’t need sex-ed lessons or gender-identity preaching when they’re supposed to be learning the ABCs and how to add.
LEFTY RALLYING CRY
The cultural left doesn’t really care about the truth when it comes to advancing its agenda. Left-wingers and their friends in the media created the fake meme as part of a rallying cry hoping to generate public and corporate pressure to get the state to back down. And it worked at least for awhile. After keeping his mouth shut (Smart!), Chapek gave in to the woke heat (Dumb!), and publicly attacked the law.
Disney’s corporate headquarters are in Burbank, Calif. But, it’s fair to say, Florida is its second home. It’s among Florida’s largest employers. The Disney World theme park is a cultural landmark of the state, so much so that the company has received corporate welfare writ large for decades and its complex near Orlando operates as a de facto independent local government.
No longer. DeSantis did what politicians should have done when all those corporate CEOs decided to give in to the woke mobs in the streets and on Twitter by attacking Georgia’s voting law as racist when it merely checks for ID: He fought back.
He didn’t just criticize Disney and Chapek for political grandstanding, he pushed through the Florida legislature a law that rescinds the company’s corporate-welfare goodies, which includes tax breaks, access to the low-cost municipal bond market, and other privileges.

Suppose the leak *was* from a 'conservative clerk'... assuming such a thing exists. What if it was a false flag op to drive the progressive Dems, which is to say all of them, into a collective frenzy of violent lunatic activity that would make America realize these people are fuggen' nuts and should be nowhere near the levers of power. Or maybe they were crazy to start with. It's hard to say.
#7
If that 'makes sense', then why did one Twitter account ID one of Sotomayor's clerks as the primary suspect within two or three hours, and laid down some compelling evidence about her pro-abortion background?
It only 'makes sense' if you ignore that angle. Then again, I wouldn't put it past Roberts to be the leaker.

Based on my 40+ years experience in the workplace, "it makes sense" is what you say when you have zero support for your position. No facts, no data, no research, no work at all in fact. That is when you say, "It just makes sense."

I continue to enjoy the tin-foil hat conspiracy mind games, so consider this:
The leak is not in fact from anyone in the court, liberal or conservative, but rather from an IT hacker with world class tools, experience and access. Motive being the further disruption and internecine hatred rending the fabric of American society. Deep state or ChiCOM, Iranian or Ruskie, I suspect all of them have opportunity, motive and means.

I suspect the leaker is some low level employee in the printing office that happened to read the first few pages and realized what they were printing.
[GatewayPundit] Florida just got a massive win for election integrity.
A federal appeals court just reversed a lower court’s decision to overturn Florida’s newest election integrity laws.
The laws established Election Crimes and Security and worked to strengthen voting rules in the state. This includes signature verification on mail-in ballots.
Epoch Times reported:
On Friday, May 6, a federal appeals court granted Florida’s request to reinstate portions of the state’s election laws, struck down by a district court judge who ruled the measures unconstitutional and discriminatory.
On May 1, 2021, the Republican-controlled state Senate approved SB 90 (pdf), which overhauled Florida election law ahead of the 2022 midterm elections and 2024 presidential election. Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the bill into law May 6, 2021, with immediate effect, strengthening voting rules in the state and establishing the nation’s first Office of Election Crimes and Security at the Department of State.
The law requires vote-by-mail ballot signatures to match the most recent signature on file to be counted. The measure also dictates that political parties and candidates cannot be shut out from observing the signature matching process.
The court also dealt a massive blow to the lower court’s claim that the law was attempting to suppress the black vote.
The Tallahassee Democrat:
The ruling also took issue with Walker’s scathing finding that the legislation, championed by Gov. Ron DeSantis and Republican politicians, was part of a pattern of Black voter suppression. Walker took the extraordinary step of putting Florida under federal supervision for future voting laws that deal with certain topics. The district judge "failed to properly account for what might be called the presumption of legislative good faith" in his analysis, the appellate court said.
"For starters, in its 288-page opinion, the district court never once mentioned the presumption," the ruling says. "And while we do not require courts to incant magic words, it does not appear to us that the district court here meaningfully accounted for the presumption at all."

[RIA Novosti] The commander of the special purpose company of the main department of the national police of the Kherson region, Lieutenant Colonel Nikolai Salamakha, after meeting with Russian security forces on the eve of Victory Day, voluntarily handed over a disguised warehouse with dozens of Kalashnikov assault rifles, machine guns, hundreds of grenades, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
After inspecting the base of the special forces of the Kherson police on Sretenskaya Street (the former "Berkut"), Russian security forces found 120 boxes of ammunition (80 boxes of 7.62 caliber cartridges, 40 boxes of RGD-5, F-1, RGM grenades) and 50 small arms AK-74 , AKSU, Ukrainian-made police shotguns, 2 NSV "Utes" machine guns with a hundred boxes of rounds.
As Russian security officials told RIA Novosti, Salamakha also said that, at the direction of the Kiev authorities, he was to lead a special unit to carry out "sabotage operations" on the territory of the Kherson region.
At the same time, he stated that "being the heir of a WWII veteran who honors the memory of his ancestor," he voluntarily shared "the plans of his leadership against his Russian brothers and the civilian population of Kherson."
In addition to what was said, Salamakha named the names of former employees who were responsible for the safety of the warehouse: Gennady Ivanenko, Andriy Gladkiy and Yuriy Turchenko, as well as Artem Redchem and Vitaly Chaika, Ukrainian intelligence liaison officers.

"He is completely oblivious to it," the senator said.
Johnson said the first thing President Biden and Mayorkas must do is acknowledge there is a problem at the border.
"It is enormously frustrating. [Biden and Mayorkas] will never solve the problem if they won’t first admit they have one ... and if they won’t acknowledge the root cause. And ... the root cause of the problem is President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. S I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass.... and Secretary Mayorkas," he said.

There's beaucoup bucks to be made in drugs, human trafficking and money laundering. Besides, there are those who have exotic and unusual sexual tastes to be satisfied via trafficking (sarc) (See Epstine and Ghislaine for more).

[UnserstandingWar] Russian forces did not make any significant advances on any axis of advance on May 8. The Ukrainian counteroffensive northeast of Kharkiv City has likely forced Russian troops to redeploy to Kharkiv instead of reinforcing stalled Russian offensive operations elsewhere in eastern Ukraine. Russian forces are continuing their attempt to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts but have not made substantial territorial gains since securing Popasna on May 7.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Russian forces are likely amassing in Belgorod to reinforce Russian efforts in northern Kharkiv to prevent the ongoing Ukrainian counteroffensive from pushing closer to the Ukraine-Russia border.
Russian forces near Izyum focused on regrouping, replenishing, and reconnoitering Ukrainian positions in order to continue advances to the southwest and southeast of Izyum.
Russian forces continued their ground attacks to drive to the borders of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts but did not make any territorial gains
Russian troops continued to assault the Azovstal Steel Plant and advanced efforts to economically integrate occupied Mariupol into the wider Russian economy.
Russian troops may be preparing for a renewed offensive on the Southern Axis but are unlikely to be successful in this endeavor.

It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... The commander of counter-terrorism in the STC, Mohammed al-Shubji, and the deputy commander of the Security Belt in Dhalea were killed on Friday evening in armed festivities with elements believed to be affiliated with the al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula ...the latest incarnation of various Qaeda and Qaeda-allied groups, including the now-defunct Aden-Abyan Islamic Army that boomed the USS Cole in 2000... (AQAP), the STC said in a statement .
"There is a plot to export terrorism to the south again, by releasing dozens of terrorist elements from the prisons of the Islah Party in the first military region in the city of Seiyun of Hadhramaut province," the statement read.
The STC vowed to continue the battle in order to "eradicate terrorism and all those behind it."
On Friday, elements believed to be affiliated with al-Qaeda infiltrated the border governorate of Bayda with the A Shu’ayb district, and were arrested in the city of al-Awabel, before a military force arrived and took them to Dhalea and without verifying their identities, STC media reported.
According to the sources, upon their arrival at the Security Belt headquarters in the city, the armed elements began firing at the security forces headquarters, resulting in several deaths and injuries on both sides.

Maybe someone at the pentagon or whitehouse should gloat over how many weapons they sent again. Then, tell once again how much more you are sending. Idiots, every GD 1 of them.

My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

The modern context is drawn from the shifting support of the English for the French Revolution, which seemed to change with the emergency of that pesky affinity the French had for industrial-style decapitation of the nobility by the dozens daily.
"Perfidious signifies one who does not keep his faith or word (from the Latin word perfidia), while Albion is an ancient and now poetic name for Great Britain."

Planes loaded with military equipment loaded on aircraft and sent over the weekend. I was told Monday but happened Saturday and Sunday at Dulles. One vet said old equipment but I don't believe that. So oil from National reserves to three countries and all this equipment most likely given away leads me to believe no restocking of National reserve or military hardware.

May 8 (UPI) -- Two men accused of killing three people in an attack in the Israeli city of Elad were arrested by Israeli forces Sunday, security officials said.
The two suspects, 19-year-old As'ad Yousef As'ad al-Rifa'i and 20-year-old Subhi Emad Sbeihat, were arrested in a forested area near Elad, Israel Defense Forces, Shin Bet security agency and Israel police said in a joint statement.
"A joint team spotted the two suspicious figures near a quarry," the joint statement said.
The men were unarmed at the time of the arrest but axes used in the attack were later found by security forces nearby.
They were arrested about a kilometer from the scene of the attack.
Al-Rifa’i confessed to security forces that he committed the axe attack with Sbeihat, killing Oren Ben Yiftah, a 35-year-old driver from Lod, and Elad residents Yonatan Havakuk and Boaz Gol, both in their 40s.
The Israeli military said Sunday that troops were operating in Rummanah, the hometown of two suspects, in order to map out their residences ahead of a potential demolition.
Israel regularly demolishes the homes of Paleostinians accused of carrying out deadly terror attacks as a matter of policy.
Still more from the Times of Israel at 8:00 a.m. ET:
Oren Ben Yiftah, who drove a pair of Paleostinian turbans to Elad before they murdered him and proceeded to kill two others, was part of a WhatsApp group that organized the ferrying of illegal Paleostinian workers, Channel 12 reports.
Tens of thousands of Paleostinians are estimated to cross the security barrier illegally to work in Israel. The IDF has sought to crack down on the phenomenon during the recent wave of attacks, after long turning a blind eye due to the belief that there was a joint Israeli and Paleostinian interest in allowing in cheap labor.
Yiftah received a message on the day of the attack updating him that two Paleostinians had crossed illegally from the West Bank and were waiting for a ride, Channel 12 says.
