Kat Cammack (R-Fla.) made a blood-boiling accusation: Even as American parents face the prospect of being unable to feed their infant children adequately amid a worsening baby formula shortage, the Biden administration has been shipping pallets of formula to the Mexican border to hand out free of charge to foreign nationals who enter the country illegally.
“Something that I absolutely have to share with you right now is the craziness of the Bare-Shelves Biden movement and the fact that they are sending pallets — pallets — of baby formula to the border. Meanwhile, in our own district, at home, we cannot find baby formula,” said Cammack. She held up two photos, one of alleged bare shelves in a Target store. The second photo, says Cammack, was sent to her by a Border Patrol agent and showed plentiful stocks of baby formula at Ursula Central Processing Center in McAllen, Texas.
Immigration detention centers have long stocked supplies to tend to the needs of the illegals who sneak over the U.S. border on a regular basis. Once a starving infant or sick child is on its soil, no civilized nation can refuse him or her the food and care he or she needs. But with the massively increased influx of aliens lured across the border by Biden’s lax policies, the demand for supplies has ballooned. The situation, coupled with the Democrats’ destructive policies that have crippled the supply chain, has placed even higher demand on dwindling provisions. Now, American parents are placed in the harrowing situation of being forced to compete with foreign nationals for the most basic nourishment their children need to survive and thrive.

I sure had a tough time breast feeding the kids. So did momma when she wasn't available for any of a hundred reasons.
In fact, if someone were to come into the room this night and play a recording of a baby crying, I could have the bottle, formula temperature correct, on mouth in 10 minutes. For bonus points I will wake up in time to do a proper burping and bed-tuck.

Because there are severe food allergies in Mr. Wife’s family, I exclusively breastfed the trailing daughters until they were ready to begin learning to eat solid food. I can therefore report from personal experience that not only does breast milk freeze beautifully, but in the heat of summer an infant not trained to demand body temperature bottles will very happily cool off with a breast milk slushy, that is a partially defrosted portion in a bottle.

California is certainly no fan of gun rights, especially when it comes to young adults.
The state is finally getting a taste of its own medicine in the judicial system, which thankfully is holding it accountable for some of its barricades to freedom.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled 2-1 on Wednesday that the California law which banned those under 21 from purchasing semiautomatic weapons is unconstitutional, the Associated Press reported. The court also said that a lower court in San Diego should have shot down the law sooner.
“America would not exist without the heroism of the young adults who fought and died in our revolutionary army,” Judge Ryan Nelson said, according to the outlet.
“Today we reaffirm that our Constitution still protects the right that enabled their sacrifice: the right of young adults to keep and bear arms.”

Point is: yesterday, a video surfaced purportedly shown the release of two Kh-22 (‘AS-4 Kitchen’) missiles from a Tu-22M-3 bomber.
Must admit, had to re-view that video two times just to trust my eyes.
The Kh-22 was originally developed — back in the 1960s — to strike heavily-protected targets on land, like air bases or major air defence installations, or heavily protected naval targets — like aircraft carriers. Developed back in the 1960s, it’s an old weapon: something like ‘1,5 generation’ of Soviet guided missiles. Unsurprisingly, in ‘land attack mode’ it had ‘circular error probable’ of about 3 miles: therefore, back in the 1960s it was usually equipped with a nuclear warhead. Certainly enough, conventional warheads were developed, as was an anti-radar variant, too and during the 1970s — and in conjunction with then brand-new Tu-22M bomber — it was considered the biggest threat for US Navy’s aircraft carriers.
Over the last few years, there were reports about an upgrade to the Kh-32 standard; but, considering the poor state of the Russian high-tech military sector since Moscow lost the contact to over 50 Ukrainian military research and development facilities, in 2014, and how, literally, ‘toxic’ this weapon is (because of its propellant), I have my doubts about that part of the story.
Anyway: apparently, after all these years, the Kh-22 now saw its combat premiere, too. Guess,might explain lots of Ukrainian reports about ‘mysterious detonations’ well away from anything meaningful, which appeared in the last few days.

This is perhaps because in May 2014, the separatists took these cities but the Ukraine side took these cities back in Sept 2014 and have held them since.
Russia has expended a lot of men and material trying to retake these cities.

[PJ] For those who still live in a world of pink unicorns and think that there is no longer mainstream hate and anti-Semitism, I suggest that we present them with the story of the airline Lufthansa’s overt act of anti-Semitism on May 4.
More than 100 Jews, mostly Hasidic (and dressed in typical Hasidic clothing), were on a flight from JFK to Hungary through Frankfurt to observe the memorial of a great rabbi. Apparently, one or two of them did not wear a mask between sips of drinks, which caused great consternation with the flight attendant and pilot as Lufthansa still requires masks. As a result, ALL visible Jews (the ones who "looked Jewish"?) were banned from their connecting flight to Budapest.
To quote the Lufthansa representative, as recorded on video, "Everyone has to pay for a couple. It’s Jews coming from JFK. Jewish people who were the mess, who made the problems."
For a moment, let’s ignore the obvious anti-Semitism, illegalities, and discrimination. Let’s skip over the fact that over 100 people were punished as a group for the questionable actions of one or two people. Instead, we need to look at the reactions and lack of reaction as a result of this overt hate.
Lufthansa issued a qualified apology: "Lufthansa regrets the circumstances surrounding the decision to exclude affected passengers from the flight." This is similar to someone apologizing by saying, "I’m sorry you feel that way." It is simply not an apology for a clear act of hate. Rather than apologizing for their anti-Semitic action, they’re sorry for the circumstances surrounding it? Has the corporate world become so affected and scared by the hate of Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, BLM, and the far left that they can’t even take ownership for the obviously ugly action of discriminating against an entire class of people based on how they look?

[Breitbart] Wednesday on FNC’s "Fox & Friends," Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) demanded action from President Joe Biden and the Food and Drug Administration to solve the nationwide baby formula shortage crisis.

[Garowe] With just a few days to the presidential elections in Somalia, a jacket wallah targeted KM-4 junction which is located near the Aden Adde International Airport and the National Intelligence Security Agency [NISA] headquarters.
Police said four people died, including the bomber on the spot and several others were maimed after the suicide bomber targeted a car assigned to a top official whose name is yet to be revealed. The explosion just comes a few days before the country holds a presidential election.
The vehicle which was targeted was among those crossing towards the busy Aden Adde International Airport, which is frequented by high-profile politicians and visitors. It was just three weeks ago the al-Shabaab ...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa... snuffies also targeted the airport.
On Sunday, Somalia will be holding a presidential election that has attracted over 30 candidates, with outgoing President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo declaring interest in the seat. He will be facing among others, former Presidents Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Security concerns have been raised and despite the fact that security responsibilities were handed to African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Transition Mission [ATMIS] in the country, the attacks are persistently targeting areas located near Afisiyoni tent where elections will be held.
There is no group that has taken responsibility for the attack but the al-Qaeda associate, the al-Shabaab is known for such attacks. The group has heightened attacks within the capital Mogadishu in recent months as the country struggles to conclude elections.
Elsewhere, the al-Shabaab friendly media outlets reported that a suicide bomber driving one of its truck bombs that went kaboom! at a military base controlled by Burundian forces was a Kenyan national, who has been working with the group for a couple of years.
The bomber was identified as Jamaal Diba Diida alias Zubeyr al-Muhaajir. The May 3 attack killed at least 30 Burundian soldiers and was the first major attack targeting ATMIS Forward Operating Base since the new transition mission took over from AMISOM in March.
Al-Shabaab snuffies control large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia but their influence has been degraded by concerted military operations within the region. There have been also efforts by regional players to help the country stabilize.
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish authorities in Van province arrested a Kurdish couple, both aged around 80, for allegedly helping Kurdish rebels. A request for the home arrest of the woman, due to her disability was rejected, as reported by a local Kurdish media outlet.
Of course the Turkish authorities did. Resistance must be seen to be futile, with all nails firmly hammered down.
Makbule Ozer, 80, and her 79-year-old husband, Hadi Ozer, were detained in the summer of 2018 in Van province’s Edremit district for allegedly "aiding a terrorist organization," in reference to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The couple were sentenced to two years and one month. They were arrested by police on Tuesday, Kurdish Mezopotamya news agency reported.
"May Allah not accept this injustice done to my dear father and mother," their son, Ubeydullah Ozer, said in a tweet on Tuesday.
Dilan Kunt Ayan, the lawyer of the couple, told the agency that she had submitted an application to the Van court to change the elderly woman’s sentence to house arrest, but it was rejected.
She added that Makbule suffers from a disability.
"My client, who is an 80-year-old woman with a 52 percent disability, cannot even meet her personal needs alone, and her daily needs are met by her children. Implementing the prison sentence will not serve any purpose expected from the execution of sentences according to the law. This would put my client in a position [in which she would be] unable to meet even her daily personal needs," she said.
The court rejected the demand because "the legal conditions were not met."

[Rudaw] The Iraqi parliament on Wednesday gave the first reading to a bill seeking to ban the normalization or establishment of relations with Israel. The legislation would also apply to the Kurdistan Region.
The Iraqi parliament convened on Wednesday and elected the members of the legal committee. As its first work, the committee examined the "Banning Normalization and Establishment of Relations with the Zionist Entity" bill, which was later sent to the MPs to discuss.
The legislature gave the first reading to the bill, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
The bill requires almost all officials, including those in Kurdistan Region, government institutions and media to refrain from establishing relations with Israel.
The main part of the bill criminalizes the normalization of relations with the "Zionist entity," a reference to Israel, in addition to "banning of the establishment of diplomatic, political, military, economic, and cultural relations and any other sort of relations with the invading Zionist entity."
This comes weeks after prominent Shiite holy manMoqtada Tater al-Sadr ...hereditary Iraqi holy man and leader of a political movement in Iraq. He had his hereditary rival, al-Khoei, assassinated only a few hours after the holy rival's appearance out of exile in 2003. Sadr said that the "issue of normalization and Israeli ambitions to dominate our beloved Iraq" was one of the core reasons for the Sadrist Movement’s involvement with the electoral process again.
The normalization of ties with Israel as part of the Abraham Accords is a US-led joint Middle East peace initiative. Four countries - the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Bahrain, and Morocco - have announced normalization agreements with Israel, with America's support.
A conference advocating for Iraq to join the Abraham Accords was held in the Kurdistan Region's capital of Erbil in September and was attended by more than 300 Sunnis and Shiites from across the country.
Widespread condemnation from Baghdad and Erbil struck the conference, with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi calling it "illegal" and saying that the concept of normalization with Israel is illegal as per the Iraqi constitution.
Sadr also expressed his staunch rejection of the conference. He said Erbil "must forbid such terrorist Zionist meetings" and called on the Iraqi government to arrest all who attended, threatening to take action himself.
Days after, an Iraqi court issued arrest warrants for three people accused of participating in the conference.

Paleostinian health officials name the victim as 18-year-old Thair Khalil al-Yarouzi. According to the ministry, the bullet struck him directly in the heart, killing him.
The Israeli army confirms that troops fired rubber bullets at Paleostinians who threw stones at an Israeli military outpost near the Psagot settlement, and says they hit several people.

One of the three was Mahmoud Bakr, whom the military identified as a senior smuggler who worked with a number of terror groups in the Strip. Over the years, Israel has stopped multiple attempts to smuggle military gear and weapons into the Strip, both through the sea and via shipments entering the Paleostinian territory.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was to co-host the meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, but Washington’s top diplomat tested positive for COVID-19 and was replaced by senior diplomat Victoria Nuland.
Senior officials from dozens of other countries are also attending the meeting, under high security at a discreet luxury hotel in Marrakesh.
The discussions were to cover "stabilization efforts in areas previously impacted by ISIS," strategic communication against the group’s "radicalization propaganda" and the battle against imported muscle, the Moroccan foreign ministry said.
The meeting comes three years after the coalition helped Syrian fighters to crush the "caliphate" IS had proclaimed in Iraq and Syria and as the jihadists step up their efforts to bolster their presence in the Sahel region ... North Africa's answer to the Pak tribal areas... and West Africa.
The Global Coalition against ISIS (an Arabic acronym for IS) was formed in 2014 after the gunnies seized huge swathes of Iraq and Syria and now included 84 states and international organizations.
Officials have long warned that IS continues to pose a worldwide threat despite its loss of a territorial base.
IS has vowed to take vengeance for its elusive leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, killed in a US raid in northern Syria in late 2019.
It has also urged its supporters to take advantage of the war in Ukraine to carry out attacks in Europe.

A young Paleostinian man was shot on Wednesday in Jerusalem’s Old City after lunging at officers, police said, as tensions surged following the killing of a journalist in the West Bank amid festivities between Israeli troops and Paleostinian button men during an Israeli army raid.
According to Israeli police, the Paleostinian in his 20s yelled "God is Great" in Arabic while making threatening gestures at officers near the city’s flashpoint Temple Mount holy site.
"He lunged aggressively and ran quickly toward the officers stationed on the scene with an object in his hand, crying out ’Allahu Akbar’ and waving his hands toward them in stabbing and attacking movements," Israeli police said in a statement.
Officers opened fire, wounding the alleged assailant. The Paleostinian was rushed to the Hadassah Hospital at Mount Scopus at death's door, a Hadassah spokesperson said.
Police did not say if the suspect had been carrying a weapon.
"This was not a knife, but a different object that he drew out of a plastic bag," a spokesperson for the police’s East Jerusalem division said.
The spokesperson declined to elaborate further.
In most cases, police publish photographic evidence of knives or other weapons after attempted attacks, but refrained from doing so this time.

We decided to play it safe back in late 2020 and have been buying extra COTS storage food each month.
Doing so, we have noticed when stocking our pantry shelves, that some major name brand Can Good item sizes have been trimmed a few OZ's here and there
likely for pricing appearances.
We also noted Best By Dates are now running only about 11 to 14 months out. As compared to same brand Items we purchased over a year ago that still have longer Best By Dates than the new purchased stuff.

[Al Ahram] Researchers trying to learn what killed the first person to receive a heart transplant from a pig have discovered the organ harbored an animal virus but cannot yet say if it played any role in the man’s death.
A Maryland man, 57-year-old David Bennett Sr., died in March, two months after the groundbreaking experimental transplant. University of Maryland doctors said Thursday they found an unwelcome surprise — viral DNA inside the pig heart. They did not find signs that this bug, called porcine cytomegalovirus, was causing an active infection.
But a major worry about animal-to-human transplants is the risk that it could introduce new kinds of infections to people.
Because some viruses are "latent," meaning they lurk without causing disease, "it could be a hitchhiker," Dr. Bartley Griffith, the surgeon who performed Bennett’s transplant, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
Still, development is under way of more sophisticated tests to "make sure that we don’t miss these kinds of viruses," added Dr. Muhammad Mohiuddin, scientific director of the university’s xenotransplant program.
The animal virus was first reported by MIT Technology Review, citing a scientific presentation Griffith gave to the American Society of Transplantation last month.
For decades, doctors have tried using animal organs to save human lives without success. Bennett, who was dying and ineligible for a human heart transplant, underwent the last-ditch operation using a heart from a pig genetically modified to lower the risk that his immune system would rapidly reject such a foreign organ.
The Maryland team said the donor pig was healthy, had passed testing required by the Food and Drug Administration to check for infections, and was raised in a facility designed to prevent animals from spreading infections. Revivicor, the company that provided the animal, declined to comment.
Griffith said his patient, while very ill, had been recovering fairly well from the transplant when one morning he woke up worse, with symptoms similar to an infection. Doctors ran numerous tests to try to understand the cause, and gave Bennett a variety of antibiotics, antiviral medication and an immune-boosting treatment. But the pig heart became swollen, filled with fluid and eventually quit functioning.
"What was the virus doing, if anything, that might have caused the swelling in his heart?" Griffith asked. "Honestly we don’t know."
The reaction also didn't appear to be a typical organ rejection, he said, noting the investigation still is underway.
Meanwhile doctors at other medical centers around the country have been experimenting with animal organs in donated human bodies and are anxious to attempt formal studies in living patients soon. It’s not clear how the pig virus will affect those plans.

"But it was enough to make people ill if they were genetically predisposed to illness from it."
Dr Haley said the key to whether somebody fell ill was a gene known as PON1, which plays an important role in breaking down toxic chemicals in the body.
His team found veterans with a less effective version of the PON1 gene were more likely to become sick.
The latest study - largely funded by the US government - involved more than 1,000 randomly-selected American Gulf War veterans.
Dr Haley, of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, said: "This is the most definitive study.
"We believe it will stand up to any criticism. And we hope our findings will lead to treatment that will relieve some of the symptoms."

More than 50,000 British troops served in the war which followed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait.
The Royal British Legion said research suggests up to 33,000 UK Gulf War veterans could be living with the syndrome, with 1,300 claiming a war pension for conditions connected to their service in the Gulf.

According to Fox News, the "Copyright Clause Restoration Act of 2022" would cap copyrights granted to corporations by Congress to 56 years, and would retroactively implement this change on corporations, which would include Disney.
Hawley told Fox that "woke corporations" like Disney had raked in billions of dollars due to these special copyright protections.
"The age of Republican handouts to Big Business is over. Thanks to special copyright protections from Congress, woke corporations like Disney have earned billions while increasingly pandering to woke activists. It's time to take away Disney's special privileges and open up a new era of creativity and innovation," Hawley said.
Hawley's office said that Congress had used the "Mickey Mouse Protection Act," which amended the Copyright Act of 1976 in 1998, to extend copyrights for corporations up to 120 years.
The act, officially called the "Copyright Term Extension Act," increased the duration of copyrights by 20 years.
Hawley's action comes as Disney continued to be at odds with the state of Florida, after the company condemned the state's Parental Rights in Education Act.
Opponents of the bill, including Disney, have said that the legislation protecting children from gender identity indoctrination would harm LGBTQ youth.

Joseph McKinnon, 60, killed Patricia Dent, 65, inside a Trenton home Saturday, the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies responded to the residence over reports of "an unresponsive male lying in his yard," Sheriff Jody Rowland said in a news release.
When they arrived, they found McKinnon’s body. Medical crews were called to the scene and tried to revive him, Fox Carolina reported. He's dead, Jim.
During their investigation, deputies found a second body in a freshly dug pit, Rowland said. The body was identified as Dent, who lived with McKinnon, authorities said.
He had a "cardiac event" while covering the pit, authorities said. Investigators believe McKinnon attacked Dent in the home. An autopsy determined she died by strangulation.

[NEXSTAR] — A U.S. Army soldier stationed at a base in Alaska died after being injured by a bear on Tuesday, officials at the base confirmed.
The soldier, who was stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, was participating in a training exercise in Eagle River, Anchorage, with a small group of other soldiers, according to a news release. Officials at the base did not say if any other trainees had sustained injuries.
The name of the deceased soldier was being held until a next-of-kin was notified.
Wildlife Troopers from Alaska’s Department of Public Safety were dispatched to locate the bear. The area has also been closed off to the public.
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson will provide additional details as they become available, the news release said.

The UN atomic energy watchdog chief said Tuesday that he was "extremely concerned" about Iran’s lack of cooperation as the EU seeks to unblock talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.
Talks between world powers and Iran have stalled since mid-March as negotiators seek to return to the landmark accord that curtailed the Islamic republic’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
The ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency is "trying to clarify a number of still open matters with Iran," IAEA head Rafael Grossi told a European Parliament committee.
"I am referring to the fact that we, in the last few months, were able to identify traces of enriched uranium in places that had never been declared by Iran as places where any activity was taking place," he said.
"The situation does not look very good. Iran, for the time being, has not been forthcoming in the kind of information we need from them... We are extremely concerned about this," he said.
EU diplomat Enrique Mora, who chairs the negotiations, said he was on his way to Tehran Tuesday as the United States — which is seeking to come back to the deal it unilaterally left in 2018 — voiced hope for progress.
Mora tweeted he would hold talks with Ali Bagheri, Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator, and other officials.
"Work on closing the remaining gaps of this negotiation continues," he said.
The IAEA and Iran announced in March that they had agreed an approach for resolving issues crucial to reviving the 2015 nuclear accord.

Some how though, the war has not seemed to go your way. Biden offered Zelensky safe passage to leave the country so that your guy could walk in unopposed.
He hinted early in February that he wouldn't object to snipping off a bit more of Ukraine territory.

I stopped watching FauxNews the moment they started treating NeverTrump guests as serious news. Haven't watched it in years.
The reason to go to a news aggregation site like Rantburg is that you get exposed to sources you won't see on any cable news channel and if there's a question about the legitimacy of a given item, it emerges in the comments quickly enough.
None of the cable news channels debunk their own reports in real time.

At the end of WW2 Finland who fought with the Nazi's and were involved in the staving of over a Million people in St Petersburg were forced to seek peace with Russia.
In the peace treaty of 1948/9 the Russians said that Finland must remain Neutral in perpetuity or else the Russians would annihilate them. The Finns were very happy to sign that agreement under those terms. However we see that once a group of Nazi's reappear in Ukraine the Finns rush to their aid.
