South Korean ex-navy seal shares story of fighting in Ukraine
[New Voice of the Ukraine] Ken Rhee, a former South Korean navy seal and now a soldier of the International Legion fighting for Ukraine, spoke to NV about his combat experience, impressions of the Ukrainian military strategy and the local climate.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, tens of thousands of volunteers from many countries have joined the Ukrainian military on the battlefield — well-trained, experienced and equipped fighters of the world's strongest armies. Most of them joined the International Legion of Territorial Defense under the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was created in late February by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky specially for foreign citizens.

#1  I remember when entering the service in the very early 70s we were required to sign numerous papers. Among which declared that you were neither now nor before members or affiliated with certain groups. One of those groups was the Abraham Lincoln brigade, which was an American volunteer unit in the Spanish Civil War. Wonder how long it will take the Swamp to add this one to the list too.

#3  @P2K it is interesting what groups they add. For instance if you were part of the Foreign volunteer units in France during WWI or the flying Tigers in WW2, not an issue.

I guess as long as you pick the side that aligns with the US goals after the war you are ok.

Help for the Obscene, Unnecessary Baby Formula Disaster
[USSA News] As usual I must begin with this disclaimer lest the corrupt FDA send their dragoons to my front door. I’m not a doctor, I have no medical training. This column is for educational purposes and not meant to be medical advice. My right to free speech.

I doubt anyone in the U.S. isn’t aware of the horrific problem regarding the availability of baby formula. Desperate mothers across the country driving an hour or more to find at least a few cans or none. (South Carolina mother of six-month-old baby girl describes desperate plight of parents crying in Walmart after being faced with empty shelves while hunting for baby formula: ’My heart broke into 100 pieces’) Paying exorbitant prices on line. There’s been the usual ignorance on the part of buffoons and dullards on the Internet— both male & female telling mothers to just breastfeed their baby.

There are legitimate reasons why some women cannot breast feed their baby. Other women who are forced to work because two paychecks are needed just to make ends meet use baby formula. That blathering is just more distraction. Stay focused on why here in these united States of America this is even happening.

I spend a lot of time researching on the Internet (and books) and when I saw the headlines start popping up about this, I thought why? I half expected to see it is because of the Russia/Ukraine disaster. But, it appears baby formula manufacturers is pretty much controlled — just like the parasites who call themselves "mainstream media" by a small number of manufacturers: Top 10 infant formula manufacturers in the world

"The baby formula shortage became an issue for new parents back in November 2021, but this shortage is getting worse, not better. According to USA Today, "Nearly 40% of popular baby formula brands were sold out at retailers across the U.S. during the week starting April 24, according to an analysis by Datasembly, which assessed supplies at more than 11,000 stores."

#3  #1 It is, uh, interesting that the Abbott facility remains closed in light of their own internal investigation and that of the FDA and CDC. They did find a strain of the bacteria in question at the facility but not in the production area.

Further, the strain of bacteria did not match that found in either of the dead infants, and in fact the infants themselves had different strains as well. Thus making for 3 demonstrably separate. Yet the facility remains closed and the White House is spreading grossly inaccurate information about the rationale.

Just in time for Billy Gates. Looks as though he should be selling into, how shall we say, a positive curve.

Government warns women to stop playing with endangered ‘penis plants'
[NYPost] The Cambodian government is urging sexed-up citizens to stop playing with phallic-shaped flowers known as Nepenthes holdenii — saying the erotic-looking plants are at risk of extinction.

The Ministry of Environment issued the stern statement on Wednesday after a video showing several women picking the plants went viral on the internet.

Nepenthes holdenii is a tropical pitcher plant commonly found in the mountainous regions of western Cambodia. The flower — dubbed the “penis plant” due to its resemblance to an erect human phallus — has long been a protected species.

However, in recent years, locals and tourists have been pulling the frisky-looking flora from the ground at an increased rate and snapping selfies for social media.

The move has concerned officials, with the Ministry stating: “What they are doing is wrong and do not do it again in the future! Thank you for loving natural resources, but do not pick, [or] they will be ruined!”

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The Ukraine War and Materiel-Peter Zeihan
[YouTube] The Ukrainian military has been punching well above their weight, something I touched upon in an earlier video. The assessment of the Ukrainians and their success comes partly from Russia's inability to achieve key objectives, such as seizing Kyiv or achieving air superiority over Ukraine. It also comes from tracking the sheer number of tanks and armored vehicles that the Russians have lost--often several of each for every single Ukrainian example that is lost.

While this ratio may seem impressive--and it absolutely is--there is a key piece of context that is lost. The Russians have so, so, so many tanks and armored vehicles to continue to toss at Ukraine, whereas Kyiv is reliant on the goodwill of the United States and its European partners to keep them afloat.

Wars of attrition might not be new to the Russians, but that doesn't mean it's a comfortable place for Moscow to fight from. Russia has to remain very sensitive to the number of soldiers it is losing in the war. Beyond the staggering number of Russian military commanders the Ukrainians have been able to eliminate, Russian conscripts are also falling at an alarming rate. Moscow has to balance against public sentiment shifting quickly against the Ukraine war, but also minding the reality that it only has a finite number of young men at any time to operate its tanks and armored vehicles. The Ukraine War is going to be a drawn out endurance game, between the Ukrainian military and its vital foreign suppliers, and a Russian military sitting atop vast (albeit aging) stores of materiel.

Publisher pulls more than 300 Chinese-affiliated papers over peer reviews
[JustTheNews] The scientific publisher Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) retracted 349 Chinese-affiliated research papers after questioning the peer-review process, according to research journal watchdog Retraction Watch.

China is frequently implicated in research-related scandals such as sending scientists to the United States, tapping American professors for information and hiding evidence about the COVID-19 pandemic.

ACM pinpointed the issue to a company in China that organized a conference and was in charge of peer review, Retraction Watch reported.

The company became aware of the issue when a tipster told ACM two versions of a Jakarta conference were reported on the same dates in the same venue with many overlapping authors.

One of the Chinese company's workers told ACM that "the paper was peer-reviewed and after multiple requests, [the company] sent a PDF of the alleged review, which appeared itself to have been falsified, based on the metadata in the PDF sent to ACM," Scott Delman, ACM's director of publications, told Retraction Watch.

After a multi-month investigation where none of the 26 studies' authors responded, Delman said ACM determined it "couldn’t trust the integrity of the peer review process for this event and was compelled to retract all of the papers published from the conference."

ACM was aware of the issue following the ICIMTech conference several months later, the company found similarities between those papers and the papers at the other conference. ACM went on to retract 323 more papers.

The conference companies are "supposed to adhere to our policies and standards, but we don’t run peer review for them," Delman said.

"Paper mills seem to have seen an opportunity to find a loophole," he added, referring to fake-paper factories.

New Illinois law targets people involved in organized retail crimes
[JustTheNews] Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker
...scion of the Hyatt hotel family, multibillionaire, Chicago Democrat...
signed a bill aimed at cracking down on smash-and-grab burglaries, but Republican lawmakers say more needs to be done in fighting crime.

The governor signed the Inform Act into law, which enforces the new crime of organized retail theft.

National attention has been paid to dozens incidents on camera showing mobs of people rushing into stores to steal goods, even while employees and customers are inside.

“These brazen acts not only place retail employees and customers at risk, but also deprive local municipalities and the state of much needed tax dollars,” Chauncey Rice from the Illinois Retail Merchants Association said.

Last December, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force recovered $1 million worth of stolen goods from storage units. Raoul said the money received from the sale of stolen goods is then used to fund other criminal activities.

“Organized retail crime is very much linked to other dangerous criminal activity, such as human trafficking, gun trafficking, drug trafficking, and in some instances, terrorism,” Raoul said.

The law is intended to close prosecution loopholes that have been letting thieves off the hook by allowing the Illinois Attorney General to seat a statewide grand jury that could issue indictments for organized retail theft.

Anyone involved in a retail theft of $300 or more would be charged with a Class 3 felony, but state Rep. Ryan Spain, R-Peoria, said to make a real impact, criminal justice reform measures pushed through by Democrats, like the ending of cash bail Jan. 1, need to be scrapped.

“Democrats have acted in haste with the passing of House Bill 3653 , the SAFE-T Act,” Spain said. “It has created tremendous damage to the community of law enforcement and to criminal activity throughout the state of Illinois.”

House Minority Leader Jim Durkin, R-Western Springs, said the SAFE-T Act is anti-cop legislation and is driving quality police officers out of Illinois.

“Four-hundred Illinois state police troopers have left the job,” Durkin said. “We’ve had a municipality shut down their police department because we cannot and will not comply with this legislation.”

The Inform Act addressing organized retail theft goes into effect Jan. 1, 2023.
Why wait over half a year?

#4  Consider if the nation-wide, urban DA-PD pro-criminal policies were not insanity but a tactic to enrage voters as a prelude to political support for creating a National Police Force, and what that would mean. Think the DoJ and FBI now enforce a two-tier Justice system, imagine the power of a single, federal, DC managed and funded Police Force. Just spit-balling here, but imagine what it might do to that pesky Constitution and Bill of Rights. Ever notice that elected Sheriffs don't seem to have the problems that appointed Police Chiefs deal with?

Michael Flynn files $50 million claim against feds in prelude to lawsuit over Russia probe
The general organizes his war.
[JustTheNews] Former Trump national security adviser, retired general alleges "malicious prosecution," "political motivation" and "abuse of process" by FBI, DOJ, the Obama White House and Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

In a prelude to a formal lawsuit, former Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn has quietly filed a $50 million claim against the FBI and Justice Department for "malicious prosecution" related to the now-discredited Russia collusion investigation.

The notification, known as a Form 95 Civil Claim, obtained by Just the News, was filed Feb. 22. It names the DOJ, FBI, U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington D.C., Special Counsel Robert Mueller's office and the Executive Office of the President as potential defendants and alleges former President Barack Obama and the FBI had a vendetta against him that biased their actions.

Mexican President Praises Soldiers for ‘Protecting' Cartel Gunmen by Running From Them
[Breitbart] Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador sparked controversy for defending his country’s soldiers after a video showed them retreating from a convoy of cartel members. The president claimed the escape protected the lives of cartel gunmen.

The issue began this week when Mexico’s military announced operations in Michoacan. Hours later, a video became viral showing groups of cartel members in SUVs chasing soldiers out of the town of Nueva Italia.

Soon after, Lopez Obrador said during a news conference that they must protect his federal troops, but they must also protect members of criminal organizations.

“They are human beings, this is a different policy a completely different policy,” the president said. “To me, that was a responsible attitude.”

The comments earned Lopez Obrador criticism from all sectors of Mexican society.

“Sir, he who mutilates, rapes, dismembers, murders women and kids, and burns entire towns, etc., has lost all trace of humanity,” said Adrian Lebaron, whose daughter and grandchildren were killed by cartel gunmen in the border state of Sonora. “You leave in two years, don’t leave behind a country of impunity.”

On Friday morning, Lopez Obrador doubled down on his comments claiming that he was attacked by critics for his comments about preserving life.

“How are we going to want for someone to lose their life?” the president said.

On Friday morning, the president’s spokesman, Jesus Ramirez Cuevas, said that the effort to push the soldiers away was done to stop raids on cartel laboratories. He said that the military was successful in raiding 5 meth labs and 19 marijuana plantations in Nueva Italia.

Ukraine deploys new US howitzers at front lines of war
[Jpost] The M-777 howitzer consignment is part of a huge outlay of weapons from Washington to help Ukraine fend off Russia's invasion.

Ukraine has deployed many of its new US M-777 howitzers at the front lines and Washington has delivered all but one of the 90 artillery pieces they were due to send, the US embassy in Kyiv said on Sunday.

The M-777 howitzer consignment is part of a huge outlay of weapons from Washington to help Ukraine fend off Russia's invasion, which began on Feb. 24. The M-777 is seen as particularly significant because of its long-range and accuracy.

"M-777 Howitzers in action. Part of the United States' most recent $800 million care package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," it tweeted.

"All but one of the 90 Howitzers sent by the United States are now in Ukraine, many now deployed on the front lines," it said.

#3  This should not be a surprise to anyone who has studied modern Russian history. Everything that has been done in Ukraine was done by Russian forces during WWII, during the various "revolutions" in Russia prior to the establishment of the Soviet Union, and in response to the Hungarian and Czech uprisings (and others less-well-known elsewhere in the Russian empire).

Daoud Zubeidi, brother of jailed terror chief, dies of wounds from battle with IDF
Roooosebuuuuud.”
“He’s dead, Jim.”
[IsraelTimes] Zubeidi was taken to an Israeli hospital after his condition deteriorated; terror groups threatened to ’open the gates of hell’ should he come to harm.

Daoud Zubeidi, the brother of notorious terror chief and Gilboa prison escapee Zakaria Zubeidi, has died of wounds he sustained during a shootout with Israeli soldiers, the Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry said Sunday.

Zubeidi, 40, was among 13 Paleostinian button men reportedly injured Friday in fierce exchanges of fire with Israeli troops in and around the city of Jenin in the West Bank, during an arrest operation carried out by police special forces and the Israeli military.

After he was critically maimed in the shootout on Friday, Zubeidi was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but when his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

Paleostinian terror groups in Jenin — including both the loosely Fatah-linked al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades and Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
’s al-Quds Brigades — threatened to "open the gates of hell" should Zubeidi come to harm while in Israeli custody.
Yeah, yeah. Whatevs.
"Any harm to the life of Daoud al-Zubeidi will open the fire of hell in the face of the occupation," masked button men apparently affiliated with the al-Quds Brigades read out in a statement on Saturday.

Israeli police commando Noam Raz, 47, was killed during the same shootout on Friday. Mourners carried Raz’s coffin to the police cemetery on Mount Zion for burial on Sunday in a private funeral, away from the press.

Zubeidi’s brother Zakaria is notorious for criminal masterminding terror attacks during the Second Intifada. A child actor who turned to violence, Zakaria Zubeidi became a senior commander in the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. He frequently gave interviews to Israeli media and became a familiar face to the Israeli public.

In 2007, the Shin Bet security service and the Paleostinian Authority reached an amnesty deal for thousands of Paleostinians who had fought against Israel during the wave of violence. Zakaria Zubeidi was one of them, and founded a so-called "Freedom Theater" in Jenin with a director of both Jewish and Arab Israeli heritage, Juliano Mer-Khamis.

Over a decade later, Israeli forces apprehended Zakaria Zubeidi, accusing him of having resumed his terror activities. The Shin Bet security service later said Zubeidi had confessed to two shooting attacks on buses outside the Beit El settlement in the central West Bank in November 2018 and January 2019 that maimed three people.

While still awaiting trial in September 2021, Zubeidi fled Gilboa jail — along with five other high-risk Paleostinian security prisoners — in an escape that transfixed Israelis and Paleostinians for weeks.

The six prisoners — five of them members of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad, along with Fatah commander Zubeidi — made their way out through their cell’s drainage system and an empty space underneath the prison.

Four of the prisoners, including Zubeidi, were captured in northern Israel within the first week, while the other two made their way into the northern West Bank city of Jenin and hid out there until their arrest on September 19.

Israel has recently stepped up its operations in the West Bank and especially in the Jenin area, from which several Lions of Islam behind recent deadly attacks carried out in Israel hailed. The violence has left 19 dead in central Israeli cities since March 22, in the bloodiest wave of terrorism in years.

Around 30 Paleostinians were killed by Israeli forces in the same period; some perpetrated the attacks, while others died during violent mostly peaceful festivities. Still others were uninvolved civilians, such as al-Jazeera journalist Shirin Abu Akleh, who died under disputed circumstances in Jenin on Wednesday.

Satellite images show Syria site ‘completely destroyed’ in raid attributed to Israel
[IsraelTimes] Apparent underground site in Masyaf related to nearby research center was repeatedly targeted in Friday’s Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s, imaging service claims

Images can be seen at the link.
An Israeli satellite company and intelligence firm published images Sunday it said showed the damage at an underground facility in Syria from airstrikes days earlier that were attributed to Israel.

On Friday night at least five people were killed and seven others were hurt in the alleged Israeli airstrike in the northwestern Masyaf region of Syria, the country’s state news agency said.
... and if you can't believe the state news agency who can you believe?
Other media in the country said six were killed, all crew members of a Pantsir air defense system who attempted to take down the purported Israeli missiles.

ImageSat International (ISI) said the airstrikes targeted an apparent underground facility. "The structures were used as an entrance to underground tunnels. ISI has detected that the structures have been completely destroyed," the firm said.

The site was also struck in September 2018, and had since been rebuilt, according to ISI’s imagery. The firm said it assessed that the facility was related to the nearby Scientific Studies and Research Center, known as CERS, which was struck in airstrikes attributed to Israel in April.

The Masyaf area is thought to be used as a base for Iranian forces and pro-Iranian militias and has been repeatedly targeted in recent years in attacks attributed to Israel.

Western officials have long associated CERS with the manufacture of chemical arms. According to the United States, sarin gas was developed at that center, a charge denied by the Syrian authorities. The site has been struck numerous times in the past.

Friday’s airstrikes were the second alleged Israeli strike on the country in days, after missiles were reportedly launched at a site just across the border from Israel in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday.

There was no immediate comment from the Israel Defense Forces, which does not normally comment on individual strikes.

Nakba Day commemorations pass largely peacefully; 3 arrested at Tel Aviv rally
[IsraelTimes] Anniversary of Israel’s founding — which Paleostinians deem ’catastrophe’ — often sees heightened tensions, but few large rallies held this year

Paleostinians and Arab Israelis held scattered Nakba Day commemorations to lament the establishment of the State of Israel on Sunday, with the day largely passing without incident.

Paleostinians call Israel’s 1948 founding the Nakba, an Arabic word for catastrophe. Hundreds of thousands of Paleostinians fled or were expelled during the 1948 war as the nascent Jewish state fought for its survival.

Rallies are held every year on May 15, the anniversary of Israel’s Declaration of Independence. Israelis celebrate their state’s establishment on the Hebrew date, which shifts from year to year according to the Jewish calendar.

While the anniversary is often marked by high tension, the day mostly passed quietly across Israel, the West Bank, and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, with few major events held. A large rally in which thousands of Paleostinians participated had already been held on Israeli Independence Day two weeks ago.

During a protest at Tel Aviv University, a few dozen Paleostinians rallied to commemorate the "catastrophic" founding of Israel. Three Arab students were arrested by police after a brawl broke out between them and far-right activists from the Im Tirzu group, with both sides trading blame as to who was responsible.

Joint List party chief Ayman Odeh condemned the arrest of the three students. Only one of them remained in jug as of Sunday evening; the other two were released without charges, according to an Arab Israeli activist.

"A salute to the student movement for their essential work commemorating the Nakba," said Odeh.

But, the Tel Aviv rally aside, the day largely passed without incident.

In Ramallah, hundreds of Paleostinians joined a large rally in the city center. An air raid siren resounded through the Paleostinian Authority seat to herald the anniversary.

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
did not emerge from his compound to deliver remarks. But the Paleostinian leader’s office issued a lengthy statement on Saturday night calling for Paleostinians to resist "ethnic cleansing, settlement and Judaization."

"Abbas called on Israel’s leaders to leave the blind cycle of denial of the other, which has proven its futility and failure, and the denial of the legitimate national rights of the Paleostinian people," Abbas’s office said, according to WAFA, the official PA news agency.

Abbas repeated the Paleostinian Authority position on the establishment of an independent Paleostinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem.

The PA leader also called for the "affirmation of the right of return and a just solution to the Paleostinian refugee issue." Israelis consider the right of return for Paleostinian refugees from 1948 to be a death knell to the Zionist dream of a Jewish-majority state.

Scattered events were also held across the country in Arab cities and towns to commemorate the day. Participants lit torches and sang patriotic songs.

"My homeland, my homeland. The youth will not tire until your liberation," sang several young Arab Israelis in Nazareth, a national hymn.

2 Sikhs gunned down on outskirts of Peshawar
[DAWN] Two members of the Sikh community were killed after person or persons unknown opened fire on them near the outskirts of Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire...
, police said on Sunday.

In a statement, Peshawar Capital City Police Office Ijaz Khan said that the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sarband cop shoppe.

He also identified the victims as 42-year-old Suljeet Singh and 38-year-old Ranjeet Singh, adding that they owned spice shops in the Batatal locality.

Police reached the scene soon after receiving information about the incident and shifted the bodies to the hospital for his appointment with Doctor Quincy, Khan said, adding that officials were also collecting evidence from the scene of the crime.

"CCTV cameras from surrounding areas are also being checked," he said, adding that a search operation had been launched in the area to nab the suspects who managed to escape.

"Those involved in the incident will soon be unmasked," the officer said.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan took notice of the incident and order the KP Inspector General of Police to arrest the perpetrators. He added that the incident was an attempt to disrupt the law and order of Peshawar.
And the Indian response, reported by One India:
India on Sunday asked Pakistain to sincerely investigate the killing of two Sikh businessmen in northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and take strict action against those responsible for the "deplorable" incident.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said India has registered its strong protest with Pakistain on the continued "targeting" of members of the minority community in that country.

Bagchi said India expects that the Pakistain government would look after the safety, security and well-being of its minority communities.

The two Sikh businessmen - Saljeet Singh (42) and Ranjeet Singh (38) - were rubbed out on Sunday by unidentified button men in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

"We have seen the reports on the brutal killing of two Sikh traders by unidentified gunnies in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar. Sadly, this is not the first such case or a rare occurrence," Bagchi said.

He said "grave concerns" have been expressed by various quarters of the Indian civil society and the Sikh community at this shocking and deplorable incident.

"We have registered our strong protest with the Government of Pakistain on continued targeting of members of the minority community in Pakistain," Bagchi said.

"We call upon the authorities concerned to sincerely investigate the matter and take strict action against those responsible for this deplorable incident," he said.

According to police, both the businessmen went titzup after being attacked by two bike-borne assailants in the morning.

"We expect that the Government of Pakistain, in the discharge of its responsibilities, will look after the safety, security and well-being of its minority communities," the spokesperson said.

Iraq
US provided $219 million military aid to Iraq, Syria in 2022
[Rudaw] The US Central Command on Saturday announced that they had provided around $219 million in the first quarter of the 2022 fiscal year in aid to their allies in Iraq and Syria through the Global Coalition against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS).

"Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve provided approximately $219 million in assistance to Iraq partner forces and vetted Syrian partner forces in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022 through the Counter-ISIS Train and Equip Fund, or CTEF," read the statement from the US Central Command.

The statement added that since its inception in 2014, the CTEF has provided over $8.9 billion in assistance to its allies in Iraq in Syria, and the aid has included military vehicles, forklifts, ambulances, wreckers, fuel and water tankers, and communication assets ranging from radios to air traffic control systems and weapons packages.

The global coalition against ISIS was formally established in October 2014, after ISIS took control of vast swathes of territories in Iraq and Syria. Consisting of 79 nations and five international organizations, the US-led coalition’s mission has been "degrading and ensuring ISIS’s enduring defeat," it says on its website, using the Arabic acronym for the Death Eater group.

The terror group was territorially defeated in 2017, but it remains a serious security threat, especially in areas where there is a security vacuum between Erbil and Baghdad.

The mission has over the years aided the Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi army, and their Kurdish-led Syrian ally, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The combat mission of the coalition ended in Iraq at the end of the last year but it continues in Syria. The coalition continues advising Iraqi forces and Peshmerga.

(ISIS) members were killed in a fresh operation launched by Peshmerga forces in southwestern Erbil province on Sunday, while a Kurdish fighter was maimed, a commander told Rudaw.

Sirwan Barzani, commander of Peshmerga forces in Makhmour confirmed to Rudaw late Sunday that the latest operation in Mount Qarachogh by a joint Peshmerga and Iraqi army force led to the deaths of two ISIS fighters.

"One Peshmerga was slightly maimed and two ISIS fighters were killed in the festivities," Barzani said.

The Peshmerga ministry on Sunday announced that the force had conducted an operation in Mount Qarachogh, an area synonymous with ISIS activity.

"All the terrorist hideouts in the vicinity of the operation were destroyed and a large part of Mount Qarachogh was cleared," the ministry said.

Barzani said that several tunnels and caves used by ISIS as hideouts were destroyed in the operation.

Deborah's Murder: Prophet Muhammad Was Insulted While Alive But Never Killed Anyone For It

Islamic holy man, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has said that Prophet Muhammad (SAW), was on several occasions during his lifetime insulted by non-Moslems, yet he refused to attack or even kill persons who assassinated his characters.

Gumi made this known while conducting a religious teaching class in his Kaduna Juma'at mosque.

The Kaduna-based scholar, in a video clip obtained and translated by PRNigeria, said the prophet's refusal to retaliate when insulted by non-Moslems was because he did not want to be regarded or tagged a killer.

Sheikh Gumi spoke while reacting to the lynching of a female Christian student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, over allegedly blasphemous statements against Prophet Muhammad.

He observed that the best way Moslems can show that they love Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is by adhering to his religious teaching, and obeying him, instead of killing people over trivial issues.
"But, but, we're Muslim? Isn't that our thing?"
According to him, both Nigerian Moslems and Christians have agreed to live harmoniously together, hence no religious law is applied in the country, being a secular state.

"Hence, anyone who kills a non-Moslem who they have agreed to live peacefully with, will not smell the fragrance of Paradise for 40 years," he said.

Sheikh Gumi, while noting that no one is allowed to take the law into their hands in Islam, called on his fellow Islamic holy mans to impart sound religious tenets to their adherents instead of instigating them to perpetrate 'reprehensible' acts.

"If we think by killing Deborah, people who are not of the same faith with us will stop insulting our prophet, then we are in delusion," he concluded.

PRNigeria reports that Sheikh Gumi a medical doctor and a retired military officer is the current Mufti and mufassir at the Kaduna Sultan Bello Central mosque.

He is the eldest son of late Shaykh Abubakar Gumi, the first Grand Khadi of the old Northern Region who was instrumental to the propagation of Islam in Northern Nigeria.

Zahra Buhari-Indimi, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari has shared a video of Saudi Islamic scholar, Sheikh Assim al-Hakeem, teaching Moslems how to react to people who insult the Prophet.

In the video, Sheikh al-Hakeem advised Moslems to desist from taking matters into their own hands when there is a case of blasphemy
...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran...
against the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Zahra reposted a few seconds of the video on her Instagram stories on Sunday, in response to the gruesome murder of a female Christian student in Sokoto, Deborah Samuel, for alleged blasphemy on Thursday.

She was killed by her fellow students who are Moslems, and her body was also burnt.

Her remains were laid to rest in her hometown, Tunga Magajiya, in the Rijau local government area of Niger State on Saturday

Sheikh al-Hakeem is said to be one of the prominent propagators of Islam in English in Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
The Imam said, "This depends if you are in a Moslem country. This is a major offence that requires the intervention of the Moslem ruler. You simply report these individuals to the court or to the Moslem ruler.

"It’s the duty of the Moslem ruler to execute after going through the legislative processes and going in front of a panel of judges."

"You must not take matters into your own hands because this will turn the community into a jungle," he said.

Wisconsin middle schoolers accused of sexual harassment for using wrong gender pronouns
Hit back twice as hard.
[FoxNews] Three Wisconsin boys are facing sexual harassment charges from their middle school over accusations that they used incorrect gender pronouns on a fellow student.

"I received a phone call from the principal over at the elementary school, forewarning me; letting me know that I was going to be receiving an email with sexual harassment allegations against my son," Rosemary Rabidoux, a parent of one of the accused, told Fox 11 News last week.

"I immediately went into shock. I’m thinking, sexual harassment? That’s rape, that’s inappropriate touching, that’s incest" Rabidoux continued. "What has my son done?"

But none of the concerns Rabidoux had were at issue. Instead, her 13-year-old son, Braden, was accused of using incorrect pronouns to address another student at Kiel Middle School.

"(The investigating principal) said he’s being allegedly charged with sexual harassment for not using proper pronouns," Rabidoux said. "I thought it wasn’t real. I thought this has got to be a gag, a joke – one has nothing to do with the other."

Now her son and two other boys are being charged by school officials with Title IV violations, which prohibits gender-based harassment.

The incident in question reportedly took place in March, when a student announced a preference of "they" and "them" to identify them.

But Rabidoux said her son was merely sticking up for one of his friends.

"She had been screaming at one of Braden’s friends to use proper pronouns, calling him profanity, and this friend is very soft-spoken, and kind of just sunk down into his chair," Rabidoux said. "Braden finally came up, defending him, saying ‘He doesn’t have to use proper pronouns, it’s his constitutional right to not use, you can’t make him say things.’"

The mother told ABC 2 News that the new pronoun preference also caused confusion for her son, with her instructing him to just address the student by their name instead.

"It’s plural. It doesn’t make sense to him. I said so, I told him to call them by their names." Rabidoux said.

Now the parents are calling on the charges to be dismissed through an attorney with the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty.

"It’s not sexual harassment under Title IX, under their own policy, under federal law, and it’s probably a First Amendment violation. Almost certainly, if that’s their theory, that solely using the wrong pronoun, that that would be a First Amendment violation," said Luke Berg, the attorney representing the boys.

Assam police hands over ABT, AQIS terror outfit case to NIA
[IRAQSUN] Speaking of the recent arrest of 16 people having links with terror outfits Ansarul Bangla Team (ABT) and al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), Assam Director general of police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta on Sunday said that the police handed over one case to National Investigation Agency (NIA).

DGP said, "One particular case has already been handed over to NIA and shared information with Interpol to crack down Islamic radical groups in the state. NIA acted very actively. There are other cases also registered, I am sure NIA will like to take the other cases as well.""Some of them have been caught and some of them gave us a slip. But we have arrested a major network of activists, and we have also arrested several kingpins who have taken the lead. We found the links in Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, and Bengal. Some of them have given a slip to Bangladesh. So we have to take locked up activities accordingly," he added.

The DGP said that the police team made arrests from Madhya Pradesh, Tripura, and Bengal, while some of them ran escaped to Bangladesh.

"The people who were caught from MP underwent training here. The people who bravely ran away to Tripura, we caught them from there. One of them has given a lead we are investigating. Bengal police are also cooperating in the operation," DGP said.

He said that these people come here with visas for tourism purposes. But then violate the visa law and stay back to spread the words of Jihad.

"Actually, the visa is a problem, they come for medical tourism but they come here to proselytize the words of Jihad. So, we are keeping a hoax eye. And we will not allow any violation of visa law."In a long-drawn Operation on April 25, Assam Police busted several modules of terror outfits ABT, and AQIS in Assam, arresting 16 people so far.

After the operation, the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had termed the police operation a huge success of intelligence and an example of courage"It's a huge intelligence success and a true example of courage and dedication of Assam Police. Total Arrests so far -16," added Sarma.

Mufti Saiful Islam (Bangladeshi National), Imran Hussain, Noushad Ali, Khairul Islam, Badshah Soleman, Mamunur Rashid, Mufti Suleman Ali, Saddam Hussain, Moqibul Hussain are among some of the key accused arrested by the Assam Police.

Sharing the names of the accused, Assam Police said they will continue their offensive against the terror module.

Costa Rica declares emergency as hackers attack government
[IRAQSUN] President Rodrigo Chaves, who was sworn in as president on May 8, has declared a state of emergency in Costa Rica following a month of ransomware computer attacks.Chaves, who said Costa Rica is suffering at the hands of "cybercriminals" and "cyberterrorists", has yet to name the members of the National Emergency Commission.

The attacks began in April when the Finance Ministry reported that a number of its systems were affected, including tax collections and customs. Attacks also targeted the social security agency's human resources system and Labor Ministry.

Some systems, especially at the Finance Ministry, still are not functioning normally.

Meanwhile,
...back at the fist fight, Jake ducked another roundhouse, then parried with his left, then with his right, finally with his chin...
the U.S. State Department said last week, that the Russian-speaking Conti gang had been responsible for hundreds of ransomware incidents during the past two years.

In addition to the ransomware state of emergency, Chaves also eliminated the use of Covid face masks in public spaces and issued a decree that urged public institutions not to sanction officials who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Two Saudi-backed military officers killed in tribal retaliation attack
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] At least two senior military commanders loyal to the Saudi-led coalition forces were killed on Sunday in the city of Ma’rib, sources familiar with the matter reported.

The sources in Ma’rib affirmed that Brigadier General Abd Rabbo al-Ahraq, the staff of the 159th Infantry Brigade of the coalition, and commander of the Islah Party militia in Harib al-Qamish Front in Ma’rib, with the name of Gibran al-Mansouri, were killed.

Al-Mansouri and al-Ahraq were killed after being tried for the crime of abducting a girl from the Harib al-Qaramish tribe in al-Huwaitna area, south of the city.

After the young woman sought the help of her brothers, violent mostly peaceful festivities ensued which led to the death of the two Saudi-backed military leaders, as well as several bully boys, and one of the brothers, as well as the injury of another brother of the victim.

The sources added that many coalition recruits, leaders and tribal bandidos faceless myrmidons from Harib al-Qaramish flocked to the area, where fierce festivities erupted between them, which resulted in several deaths and injuries on both sides.

Saudi-led authorities planning to lease Socotra Island to UAE
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Local sources have revealed the objectives of a visit conducted by officials of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries that are loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, to the occupied island of Socotra, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
Press Agency reported, citing local source.

According to the source, minister Salem Abdullah al-Soqotri is seeking to activate the so-called "Dixam Agreement" and activate it under the direction of the Riyadh-backed Presidential Council, planning to lease Socotra island to the United Arab Emirates.

The sources confirmed that al-Soqotri carried out a campaign to collect the signatures of sheikhs and dignitaries on the island in coordination with UAE intelligence representative Khalfan al-Mazroui, in addition to taking approval from government offices under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia.

The sources explained that he provided huge amounts of money to all those who agree to separate Socotra island from Yemen.

The sources attributed the raid on the house of Sheikh Saad Abdullah al-Farajhi last week in the district of Qulansiyah on the occupation forces, saying it was due to his positions in rejecting the removal of the Yemeni island from the motherland.

The UAE took control of Socotra island at the end of October 2016 under the guise of providing humanitarian aid, under the Dixam Reserve Agreement that was signed by Salem Abdullah al-Soqotri, governor of Socotra, and the UAE intelligence, in the presence of Khaled Bahah, planning to lease the island and turn it into the "jewel of the Middle East", according to UAE claims at the time.

Battle rages for the region of Donbas

Russia pummelled positions in the east of Ukraine on Sunday, its defence ministry said, as it sought to encircle Ukrainian forces in the battle for Donbas and fend off a counteroffensive around the strategic Russian-controlled city of Izium.Since mid-April, Russian forces have focused much of their firepower on trying to capture two eastern provinces known as the Donbas.

"Russia’s war in Ukraine is not going as Moscow had planned," NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said.

Russia said on Sunday it had struck Ukrainian positions in the east with missiles, targeting command centres and arsenals as its forces seek to surround Ukrainian units between Izium and Donetsk.

Izium straddles the Donets river, about 120 km (75 miles) from Kharkiv on the main highway heading southeast.

"The hottest spot remains the Izium direction," Ukrainian regional governor Oleh Sinegubov said in comments aired on social media.

Ukraine’s military acknowledged setbacks in an update on Sunday morning: "Despite losses, Russian forces continue to advance in the Lyman, Sievierodonetsk, Avdiivka and Kurakhiv areas in the broader Donbas region."

In western Ukraine near Poland, missiles destroyed military infrastructure overnight on Saturday and were fired at the Lviv region from the Black Sea, Ukrainian officials said.

Nine civilians were maimed in Russian shelling of Sievierodonetsk hospital yesterday evening, Serhiy Gaidai, governor of the eastern Luhansk region, said on the Telegram messaging application.

Another 10 civilians were maimed in the southern region of Mykolaiv in the last 24 hours, the regional council said, without providing details. The reports could not be independently verified.

There was also no let-up on Sunday in Russia’s bombardment of the steelworks in the southern port of Mariupol, where a few hundred Ukrainian fighters are holding out weeks after the city fell into Russian hands, the Ukrainian military said.

Brightly burning munitions were shown cascading down on the steelworks in a video posted by a pro-Russian separatist commander.

A large convoy carrying refugees from the ruins of Mariupol arrived in the Ukrainian-controlled city of Zaporizhzhia after nightfall on Saturday after waiting days for Russian troops to allow them to leave.

Somali lawmakers go to 2nd round to choose next president; UPDATE: Hassan Sheikh Mohamud seals deal in 3rd round
[ALAHRAM] Legislators are choosing the country's next president in the capital, Mogadishu, which is under lockdown measures aimed at preventing deadly bad boy attacks .

The top four candidates out of 36 presidential aspirants will be on the ballot in the next round: incumbent President Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed, former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, former Prime Minister Hassan Khaire and regional leader Said Dani.

Dani, president of Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
state, led the first round of balloting.

Voting is taking place inside a tent in an airport hangar within the Halane military camp, which is protected by African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
peacekeepers.
Update from Garowe:
After a long and unprecedented wait, Somalia will have a new president, following an epic battle which saw former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud capture the seat from the incumbent Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed better known as Farmajo.

Sunday's late-night results were after all expected following relentless resilience from members of the opposition who ganged against Farmajo, whose tenure was characterized by massive human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
violations, arbitrary detentions and executions, triggering protests from thousands of critics.

But for the results to favour a spirited opposition, it took politicians three rounds of voting to determine the outright winner. All 36 candidates invested massively in all campaign platforms including defending their agenda before citizens and even on social media platforms.

During the first round, Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, a fierce critic of Farmajo, beat all candidates after garnering 65 votes. He was closely followed by Farmajo [59], Hassan Sheikh Mohamud [52], and former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire [47].

Another former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed scored 39 votes contrary to the expectations of his supporters while opposition leader Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame managed only 15. Abdulkadir Osoble scored 12 while Addow Ali Gees managed 8 of the 328 MPs who voted.

The scenario slightly changed in the second round of voting after Hassan Sheikh Mohamud scored 110 votes to Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo's 83 votes.
Said Abdullahi Deni scooped 68 while Hassan Ali Khaire managed 63, pushing the race to the third round where a simple majority between two frontrunners was to determine the winner.

In the third round, opposition bigwigs led by Said Abdullahi Deni and Hassan Ali Khaire, a former PM who fell out with Farmajo, ganged up to Mohamud's advantage, sealing a historic victory. Hassan Sheikh becomes the first Somalia president to be re-elected having served from 2012-to 2017.

The third round saw Hassan Sheikh Mohamud score 214 votes to Farmajo's 110 votes, sending Mogadishu into a celebratory mood. Farmajo's term expired last year in February but has been in office after stakeholders failed to steer elections in time.

Before clinching victory in the election, Hassan Sheikh took to his Facebook to rally politicians to consider supporting him in the third round. He said: "Please vote for me so that we can complete the journey of the process of building our nation together. Our country needs an inclusive government."

Similarly, Farmajo also asked politicians to consider him for the second term, noting that it will enable him "to promote the continuity of change in our Republic for the next years and fulfil my vision for our beloved motherland".

With Somalia walking up on Monday morning by starting to usher in a new administration, the outcome was expected given Farmajo's style of leadership which had even attracted criticism from his own Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble.

In a previous post, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who has been consistent with his criticism against Farmajo, maintained that should he get elected, he will ensure political freedoms are adhered to in the country. Under Farmajo's administration, Villa Somalia has often been accused of using security forces to muzzle freedoms of speech and association.

"Restricting, shrinking and or closing the freedom and the political spaces incorporated with a fear among our people was part and parcel of the current regimes political," he said in a previous post while condemning death threats directed at Hodan Ali, a political and security pundit.

threat, drought, the resurgence of clan militia, and weakened foreign policy. Despite his defeat to Farmajo in 2017, he reinvented himself by defending human rights in Somalia.

The result effectively ends the electioneering period which was marred with endless political squabbles. The main hero of the process is Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble, who stood firm to ensure the process was credible despite resistance from Villa Somalia.

In particular, critics say that the United States could arm Ukraine earlier and with heavier weapons if the intelligence community assessed that the Ukrainian army has a chance in confronting the Russian Federation. Only one intelligence unit has been able to provide a more accurate assessment of the performance of the Ukrainian army - the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation.

Walmart Is Shipping Baby Formula from Wyoming to New Jersey to Fill Demand
[Breitbart] A Walmart customer service representative confirmed to this Breitbart News reporter that an order of Enfamil brand infant formula was shipped out of Cheyenne, Wyoming, to North Bergen, New Jersey, “due to the unavailability of the item at the nearest fulfillment center in your area.”

Cheyenne is 1,738 miles from North Bergen. Walmart operates a “supercenter” storefront in North Bergen.

The Enfamil purchase, made on May 8 and arriving on May 12, was made for the purpose of feeding an eight-month-old infant, not in the interest of journalism.

The Enfamil powder is already a substitution for the Similac brand powdered formula typically consumed.

Walmart’s media relations wing did not respond to multiple requests for clarification as to the reasons behind the baby formula order requiring a cross-country shipment, how common such a move is for online orders, and confirmation that the order means the closest available Enfamil for parents in New Jersey is in Wyoming. A customer service representative did offer an explanation regarding the order.

“The reason why it was sent in from a different location is due to the unavailability of the item,” the representative said. “Due to the unavailability of the item in the nearest fulfillment center in your area, we have to request the item from other fulfillment center. [sic]”

The FDA added in the press release that “other infant formula manufacturers are meeting or exceeding capacity levels to meet current demand. Notably, more infant formula was purchased in the month of April than in the month prior to the recall.”
“Your order was unavailable because the item is currently out of stock due to its popularity,” the representative responded when asked if it was fair to conclude that the shipment details meant that the closest Walmart fulfillment center carrying Enfamil from New Jersey is in Wyoming.

At press time, the Walmart website shows none of the five Walmart “supercenters” within a ten-mile radius its North Bergen store are carrying the product.

The formula purchase’s transcontinental journey reflects the gravity of the growing crisis surrounding acute shortages families are currently facing of nearly every widely available brand of baby formula. As of last week, over 40 percent of baby formula stock is out on a national level.

While supply chain disruptions partially caused by lockdowns in response to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic had already strained national baby formula supplies, the shortages became more severe in light of the federal government shutting down one of the largest formula manufacturing plants in the country.

Several Similac lines and other brands produced by Abbott Labs have all but disappeared off of store shelves nationwide after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shut down Abbott’s Michigan processing facility in late March in response to an alleged bacterial outbreak; Abbott had issued a voluntary recall of some of the products affected in February. Abbott is America’s largest baby formula producer.

Mounting public concern regarding baby formula shortages led the FDA to announce on Wednesday that it would finally cede to Abbott’s request to begin to use the plant to make formula again, but only on a “case-by-case” basis.

“We recognize that many consumers have been unable to access infant formula and critical medical foods they are accustomed to using and are frustrated by their inability to do so,” FDA Commissioner Robert Califf said in a public statement on Tuesday. “We are doing everything in our power to ensure there is adequate product available where and when they need it.”

The FDA added in the press release that “other infant formula manufacturers are meeting or exceeding capacity levels to meet current demand. Notably, more infant formula was purchased in the month of April than in the month prior to the recall.”
Whew! Not a permanent problem, then.

#11  from a Powerline link -

At the White House press conference today, the Press Secretary mistakenly said that our formulas were tainted and killed two infants. The deaths of these infants are a tragedy. 🧵 [1/11]

The facts, however, are critical: A comprehensive investigation by Abbott, FDA and CDC found no evidence that our formulas caused infant illnesses. Specifically… [2/11]

CDC concluded its investigation with no findings of a link between our formulas and infant illnesses.

We conduct microbiological testing on products prior to distribution and no Abbott formula distributed to consumers tested positive for Cronobacter or Salmonella. [3/11]

All retained product tested by Abbott and the FDA during the inspection of the facility came back negative for Cronobacter and/or Salmonella. No Salmonella was found at the Sturgis facility. [4/11]

The Cronobacter sakazakii that was found in environmental testing during the investigation was in non-product contact areas of the facility and has not been linked to any known infant illness. [5/11]

Genetic sequencing on the two available samples from ill infants did not match strains of Cronobacter in our plant. Samples from ill infants did not match each other, meaning there was no connection between the two cases. [6/11]

In all four cases, the state, FDA, and/or CDC tested samples of the Abbott formula that was used by the child. In all four cases, all unopened containers tested negative. [7/11]

Open containers from the homes of the infants were also tested in three of the four cases; two of the three tested negative. The one positive was from an open container from the home of the infant, and it tested positive for two different strains of Cronobacter sakazakii… [8/11]

…one of which matched the strain that caused the infant’s infection, and the other matched a strain found on a bottle of distilled water in the home used to mix the formula. Again, neither strain matched strains found in our plant. [9/11]

The infants consumed four different types of our formula made over the course of nearly a year and the illnesses took place over several months in three different states. [10/11]

The formula from this plant did not cause these infant illnesses. [11/11]

* but govt shut down production. Meanwhile the govt continues to push vaccinations that have been linked to deaths.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] Senator Rand Paul's blocking of $40 billion in military aid to Ukraine is, of course, a temporary phenomenon, but at the same time it is remarkable. In the motivational part, Senator Paul pointed out in plain text that the huge money allocated to Ukraine could simply be stolen, and demanded at least minimal control over their spending. Which is what caused the delay.

Naturally, the question arises - why does Senator Paul say that money can be stolen in the "democratic" USA or in the "democratic" Ukraine? Senator Paul answers it himself, pointing to the experience of Afghanistan, where the United States, according to Brown University estimates, pumped $2.31 trillion over 20 years (from the fall of 2001 to the summer of 2021). The result of the war is known - the Taliban (banned in the Russian Federation) won, and after 20 years they again control the whole of Afghanistan.

At the same time, even before the US fled from Kabul, even the American media openly wrote that a significant part of American aid to the Ghani government was dissolved in an unknown place, mostly nodding that it was plundered by the functionaries of the Afghan puppet regime and local warlords. However, there were also questions about the American public and private defense contractors who actively mastered this money.

But this story was far from unique. The United States has spent, according to various estimates, tens or even hundreds of billions of dollars trying to overthrow the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria. Here, too, as you know, they failed (Russia and Iran tried). Already during the war, in the American media, the unflattering facts of embezzlement of American funds allocated for the “Syrian democratic revolution” began to surface. In particular, it was revealed that no one knows where the more than $350 million allocated by the CIA for the training of Syrian Free Army militants in training camps in Turkey has gone.

In fact, the money was spent, and the militants were not actually trained.
Something to be grateful for. However expensive the non-performance, surely succeeding in that effort would have been more so...
In fact, they simply stole it, attributing it to military operations in Syria. Also, the late head of the White Helmets, Le Mesurier, who threw himself out of a window in Istanbul, was accused of stealing money “for democracy”. According to a number of versions, together with Le Mesurier, the tails of the special services involved in financing the activities of the White Helmets were cleared, with the help of which they not only fabricated various fakes about “Assad’s chemical weapons”, but also mastered “democratic financing” through the special services, since there was practically no control over the spending of funds entering Syria.

In addition, one can also recall the accusations of the occupation administration of Paul Bremer, which oversaw the "reconstruction of Iraq" and received tons of cash from the United States, some of which disappeared in an unknown direction. According to an investigation by the US Congressional Commission, of the $60 billion in cash delivered to Iraq, $12 billion completely disappeared without any documents. Most of the remaining money was spent on ordinary handwritten receipts that left serious doubts about their authenticity and did not give any understanding at all whether imported cash was spent. Similarly, the British Parliament eventually found out that of the £16bn allocated to Iraq by Britain, £8bn was missing.

In general, for those who tend to remember previous US wars, it is quite obvious that the probability that a significant part of the allocated funds will again be dissolved in an unknown direction is close to 100%. Senator Rand Paul is clearly of the same opinion, which is why he demands increased oversight of spending, but it seems that under the conditions of Ukraine this oversight will not help anyway.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
After jump in food prices, Iran cuts off internet to prevent protests
[Iraq Sun] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has abruptly raised prices as much as 300 percent for a variety of staple foods, including cooking oil, chicken, eggs and milk.

In the hours before the price hike took effect, many Iranians waited in long lines to buy food and emptied supermarket shelves across the country.

Also last week, Iran's currency dropped to a low of 300,000 rial to the dollar.

Internet disruptions have been reported across Iran, as the government braced for possible unrest, advocacy group NetBlocks.org said.

Across the Middle East, food prices surged due to global supply chain issues and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which both export many essentials items.

Drought is also ravaging Iran's economy, along with Western sanctions over Iran's nuclear deal.

With inflation soaring to nearly 40 percent, the highest level since 1994, youth unemployment has also remained high. Iran's Statistics Center reported some 30 percent of Iranian households are living below the poverty line.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has promised to create jobs, lift sanctions and rescue the economy, but talks to revive the nuclear deal with world powers remain deadlocked.

As Iranians complain about the rising prices of flour, the top trending hashtag on Twitter in recent weeks has been #macaroni.

As she browsed a supermarket in Tehran, Mina Tehrani, a mother of three, told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named, "I am sure the government does not care about average people."

Tehran resident Hassan Shahbazzadeh also complained that Iranians had forgone meat or dairy to save money, and now have nothing left to cut.

"Now, even macaroni is taken off their dining tables," he said.

As online outrage over rising inflation increases, Iranian authorities appear to be bracing for the worst.

Last week, Article 19, a global research organization that fights censorship, reported that authorities have shut down almost all internet connectivity in cities across Khuzestan province.

Recent videos have appeared on social media of Iranians gathering in the streets of southern Khuzestan, chanting slogans against price hikes and against the country's leaders.

"The issue of high prices is security-related. People cannot tolerate it anymore," politician Majid Nasserinejad was reported to have warned.

#1  Screw IRAN

US HAS MANY Hidden Price Hikes!
Next time you pick up a can of something, look at the label for its NEW size.

Here in the USA, you might notice a lot of suppliers have moved away from 16 oz cans and/or started to 15.25 to 15.75 OZ. for fill levels. A 6.5+% increase for a still priced $1 can of whole corn. Some have increased the price to $1.19 for a can of whole kernel corn, or 7.8% more $$.

The 2 major brands of Coffee in Sam's club both have reduced size amounts. 48 OZ is now 41.5 OZ and the price is about $1.20 more also.

So some vendors are putting less in theirs cans, some
made "New and Improved" packaging and etc...

Some stores have switched from price per LBS, to Price per OZ to throw you off.

We restocked Pink Canned Salmon, great for Fried Fish Cakes, this past weekend. The price has gone from $2.75 a can to $4.79 (the new normal).

We caught a limited special at our KJ's Supermarket at 2 for $6 and bought 10 cans (Best By Date 9/2026).

Some of y'all might remember, during the Pandemic, Coke was going 5x 6 packs for $10. It now is 4 for $11 and the Best by Date was less 40 days out????

So Again I say Screw IRAN, we have our own problems.
But their problem is similar to ours. It is called
Political Leaders dabbling in economy management.

18:47 The Armed Forces of Ukraine, under the guidance of NATO instructors, equipped a stronghold in the residential buildings of Rubizhne. This was announced by a serviceman of the People's Militia of the LPR with the call sign "Almaz".

#15  Trevor Cadieu is now in Moscow awaiting trial. He does not have enemy combatant status. Reports are that he tried and failed to escape AzovStal using one of the humanitarian corridors.

Given that he fled Canada to escape criminal charges by the Canadian authorities, it's a good bet he can be turned by the Russians (a la Snowden).

As the former next-in-line to head up the Canadian Armed Forces, ex-Gen. Cadieu would be an extremely valuable source of operational information for the Russians. This is a huge development.

Ouch. Blood will soon be "at a low ebb," too.

#15 Given that he fled Canada to escape criminal charges by the Canadian authorities, it's a good bet he can be turned by the Russians (a la Snowden).

Yes, Cadieu faces arrest if he returns to Canada. He's a "man without a country." An excellent prospect for turning.

As the former next-in-line to head up the Canadian Armed Forces, ex-Gen. Cadieu would be an extremely valuable source of operational information for the Russians. This is a huge development.

At minimum he can tell the Russians operational details about all the NATO forces and mercenaries on the ground and help the Russians target them. Huge development, for sure.

The evacuation is planned for later on Monday after an agreement was reached, the military said.

"According to the Russian ministry, it has suspended hostilities at Azovstal to allow the humanitarian evacuation later in the day.

"Novoazovsk is a small city about 40km east of Mariupol, which is controlled by the militia force of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The evacuated troops will apparently remain in the custody of the breakaway republic, which Russia recognized as an independent state before launching its attack against Ukraine in late February."

No. He will be interrogated and tried and sentenced as an ordinary criminal. Definitely not a spy. Why the hell would a spy get caught in the Mariupol killing field?

The Canadian government disavowed him long ago. The Ukrainians have repeatedly told foreign mercenaries to stop coming and fucking things up for them.

This is an enormous loss.

Perhaps not There are suggestions that his 'crime' from 30 years ago was ginned up to separate him from the Canadian military. Nice journalistic use of the conditional mood to suggest something might possibly could maybe happen. Dollars to donuts, it won't.

To me, the story stinks. Guy with 30 year mil career, in line to become head of the Army, retires due to a 30 year old allegation of 'sexual harassment'. First act as a civilian is to vacation in Mariupol which is currently under siege by the Russian army. Combine this with RUMINT about British and NATO advisors and it smells even more.

Battle for Serpent's Island May 7-8
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian news source Zvezda News

The idea of the operation to capture Serpentine came to the Ukrainian authorities from London. The goal was to overshadow the celebration of Victory Day in Russia, the DPR and the LPR;

The assault on the island began on the evening of May 7 after a lengthy reconnaissance of Serpentine from Ukrainian UAVs;

With the onset of darkness, three Ukrainian Su-24 bombers with a covering Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 fighter, flying up to the island at extremely low altitudes, launched a bombing strike. The duty aviation forces of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed all enemy aircraft over the sea;

After the strike, the enemy sent the first landing troops to the island. The special forces units of the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry on three landing assault boats of the Centaur project approached the Serpent, having managed to land 24 saboteurs. All Ukrainian boats were flooded, eliminating the possibility of evacuation. During the ensuing battle, the Russian military managed to push the enemy's special forces to the coast and destroy

Kiev made another attempt to storm. Under the cover of a Mi-24 helicopter, three Mi-8 transport-landing troops with special forces on board advanced to the island. In one of the Mi-8s there was the coordinator of the landing of units - the Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Aviation - Colonel Igor Bedzai;

The entire helicopter group, when approaching the island, was destroyed by Russian Aerospace Forces fighters. The pilots, the landing force and the coordinator of the operation were killed.

Another six helicopters for the landing of the second wave were in full readiness at a military airfield in the Odessa region. The airfield was hit by high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which destroyed six Ukrainian Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters;

Within two days, aviation of the Black Sea Fleet and air defense systems destroyed 30 Ukrainian UAVs in the Zmeinoye area, including nine attack "Bayraktar-TB2";

The action invented by the West led to the senseless death of more than 50 Ukrainian militants and servicemen of the elite units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the loss of four aircraft, 10 helicopters, three boats and 30 UAVs;

Footage with killed saboteurs on Serpentine here

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

As for our losses. From what was published it is known about:

1. Damaged Tor air defense system (the enemy declared it destroyed)
2. Destroyed ZU-23 / 2 (1-2 pieces)
3. Destroyed Mi-8 helicopter
4. Destroyed landing boat of the "Serna" type "(it seems to have been lifted there by a crane the other day - the condition is unknown, but apparently they will let it go to the metal)
5. Two damaged / destroyed patrol boats of the Raptor type.
6. Losses in people are unknown, but they were when the UAV hit boats and a helicopter.
7. Most of the ground buildings of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the island are seriously destroyed.

Ukraine indirectly acknowledged the failure of the attempt to capture Zmiyiny Island (in addition, some names of the dead officers became known), but stated that it would continue attempts to capture it. In the following days, several more UAVs were shot down over the island, including two Bayraktars.

Of the unsubstantiated claims
1. From our side, they wrote in social networks that foreign military advisers died on the island. So far, there is no actual confirmation of this information. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has not officially confirmed this topic.
2. On the part of Ukraine, they wrote about the defeat by missiles and even the sinking of the frigate "Admiral Makarov" and the auxiliary ship "Vsevolod Bobrov." Both ships were seen in Sevastopol after May 8 without visible damage. But familiar sailors confirm.

In general, this story somewhat smoothed over the painful impression after the loss of "Moscow", and the Black Sea Fleet confirmed its control over the northwestern part of the Black Sea. But the very fact of contesting this control suggests that the enemy will continue to try both to take possession of Serpentine and to move the fleet to the coast of Crimea. It is clear that the war here is not with Ukraine, but with NATO, therefore, it is by no means possible to underestimate the enemy here, so as not to be surprised later by unpleasant surprises, as was the case with the death of the Moskva cruiser.

In general, the picture is gradually clearing up and over time, of course, we will learn more details about the largest battle on the Black Sea since the Great Patriotic War.

Four terrorists killed in raids on hideouts in North Sinai over last three days: Armed Forces
[Al Ahram] The Egyptian Armed Forces announced on Sunday the killing of four Lions of Islam during a series of raids on a number of krazed killer hideouts in North Sinai, as part of its ongoing anti-terror operations.

A statement released by the military spokesperson said that the Air Forces destroyed three four-wheel-drive vehicles and a number of hideouts that terrorist groups used to plan their attacks.

The Army also destroyed a camouflaged four-wheel drive vehicle used by Lions of Islam in attacks on the Armed Forces and confiscated two RPGs, three multi-purpose machine guns, one pistol, and 60 bullets of different calibres, the statement added.

The military also said it found during the post-raid inspection of Mokataaa village a number of weapons and large caches of ammunition, magazines, explosive charges, suicide belts, TNT explosives, 21 mobile phones, three laptops and one tablet.

"The Armed Forces continue with relentless determination their sincere national efforts to eradicate terrorism and pursue it in all strategic directions," the statement stressed.

The Armed Forces’ goal is to achieve security, safety and stability for the people of Egypt, the statement added.

On 7 May, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced the death of an officer and 10 soldiers as well as the injury of five others after foiling an attack launched by a group of Lions of Islam on a water lifting station in western Sinai.

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) — that was formerly known as Ansar Beit al-Maqdis — grabbed credit for the 7 May attack, which was the first major terrorist attack in North Sinai in recent years.

A day after the attack, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi directed the Armed Forces during a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) to continue purging North Sinai of terrorists.

On Wednesday, the Army killed seven Lions of Islam in an ambush near a security checkpoint. However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
an officer and four soldiers were also killed, while two others were maimed.

In 2018, the Armed Forces launched a major counter-terrorist drive dubbed "Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018" that succeeded in almost eradicating terrorism from North Sinai as well as the Nile Delta and desert areas.

As a result, the rate of terrorist attacks in North Sinai has declined in the past few years following massive and successive security and military operations.

Egyptian court sentences 4 to life, woman to 3 years in Islamic State Espionage Case
[ALAHRAM] A Cairo criminal court sentenced on Sunday four people to life and a woman to three years in prison that were convicted in the

Life in prison carries a sentence of 25 years in jail in Egypt.

The court also acquitted three from charges of espionage in the same case.

The verdicts are not final and can be appealed.
*sigh* Ten years from now they’ll finally have wended their way through the entire appeals process to the final verdict, whoever they are. But in the meantime they’ll be put on trial for other things, and so still be wending through. Still, they’ll be living in jail the entire time, so it’s like having been sentenced to life imprisonment...
The prosecution accused the defendants of spying for the terrorist group Islamic State

The defendants allegedly agreed to supply ISIS’ members within the country with necessary funding and information about vital institutions — specifically Gargoub Maritime Port, and Ramses and Sidi Gaber Train Stations — in order to attack them.

These communications were conducted through Telegram — a messaging application — the prosecution explained.

The prosecution also charged the defendants with financing a terrorist group to commit an act of terrorism, the statement said, as they collected, received, possessed, supplied, transferred, and provided money and information to ISIS with the intention of using them to commit terrorist crimes.

#1  I agree with the lesser sentence for the woman as there is probably little difference between living in Egypt and a prison sentence for her. Three years and then she has to cook her own meals and live with ISIS symps for the rest of her natural life. No more welfare. Three years of supporting her is enough.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Putin to hold emergency meeting on suspicious fires across Russia
[Jpost] While the Kremlin makes out the raging fires as a seasonal event, dozens of fires in key facilities have broken out across the country in what cannot be simply brushed off as "seasonal wildfires."

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting regarding dozens of destructive fires in a number of regions all across Russia on May 10, the Kremlin press service reported.

A state of emergency was introduced in 77 areas of the Russian Federation throughout the Kurgan region and in one municipality in Khakassia. A special fire emergency was declared in 49 regions of the country, according to the Kremlin press service.

Putin will receive reports from several government sources, including the acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov and about a dozen governors and heads of regions.

On May 5, a series of large fires broke out in the city of Kursk, which borders Ukraine. The fire was confirmed by Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations and has completely burned down a gunpowder plant, killing at least two workers.

On May 4, several fires broke out in the industrial zone of Nizhny Novgorod, a city about 400 kilometers east of Moscow. At the same time, Russian police arrested suspected arsonists who attempted to set on fire a military enlistment office in the city of Nizhnevartovsk using Molotov cocktails, Interfax Russia reported.

On May 3, "Prosveshchenie," a pro-Kremlin publishing house in Moscow that is heavily affiliated with President Vladimir Putin was burned down in a large fire, The cause of the fire wasn't identified by Russian authorities, TASS reported.

On May 1, a fire broke out in the FKP Perm Powder Plant in the city of Perm in the Ural mountains, which produces gunpowder and ammunition. As a result of the fire, blasts tore through the plant, killing two and injuring at least three, according to local authorities. The Russian State Labour Inspectorate claimed that the deadly fire and explosions were caused by "a product catching fire."

On April 30, a massive fire broke out at a power plant in Sakhalin island, the cause of the fire was claimed to be "engineers' attempts to shut down a turbine generator," according to energy supplier Sakhalinenergo.

On April 28, Several explosions caused fires across Kustanayskaya street in Moscow, while Russian authorities haven't provided any explanation for the cause of the fires, nor even acknowledged them, several videos of the incident circulated online.

On April 27, a fire had broken out at an ammunition depot in Belgorod, in the village of Staraya Nelidovka, some 30 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, according to Russian authorities. The source of the fire was not been disclosed.

Since the war with Ukraine began, 5 different enlistment offices were set on fire, even in Moscow itself, with some of the arsonists claiming they were deliberately targeting personal files of future conscripts and reservists in order to prevent mobilization.

The fires are often brushed off as accidents or not acknowledged altogether by Russian authorities, and the real cause of the blazes remains unexplained. While Ukraine hasn't taken responsibility for the fires, there have also been no official reports of local unrest.

#1  The desperate Rantburg propaganda doesn’t work ….
Because in reality….
Another appeal of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The 115th brigade is in touch.
Brief summary:
There is no way to follow orders. The evil enemy, with the help of irresistible force, drove us out of the positions we occupied from April 19 to May 3.
They were forced to flee to the rear, because the General Staff did not prepare a reserve position. We cannot perform combat missions due to low moral and psychological state.

Desperate outgunned Ukrops are asking for help , smart ones are captured alive and treated well . The second video is from today , the same story

Arabia
Yemeni Defence Ministry: Armed Forces have advanced weapons of deterrence
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
’s minister of Defence in Sana’a, Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atifi, affirmed that "the Yemeni Armed Forces have advanced strategic deterrent weapons, with high-precision technologies and high combat capabilities and expertise, to deter the enemy."

The minister affirmed, during his visit on Sunday to the army and popular forces stationed on the fronts of Jizan, that "the Armed Forces are keen to keep pace with the overall developments required by the battle of modern weapons in the field despite the siege and the aggressive war on Yemen."

"We in Yemen are keen on the just and honourable peace, as much as we are ready to confront the worst possibilities," he said.

The minister went on to say: "One of the most important goals of the declared and undeclared coalition countries in Yemen is to subject the Yemeni people in order to make them give up their illusory sovereignty, freedom, decision, unity, wealth and strategic location in the service of the Zionist entity."

Al-Atifi added: "It is time to stop the farce of aggression, lift the siege and leave from Yemen."

The Minister of Defence conveyed to the fighters on the fronts of Jizan the congratulations and of the Leader of the Revolution, Abdul-Malik al-Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...

North Korea mobilizes military to battle epidemic
[RT] North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
n leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
has criticized top public health sector officials for their "irresponsible work attitude" amid a widening outbreak of Covid-19, ordering the country’s military forces to provide assistance stabilizing the situation.

Speaking at an emergency politburo meeting on Sunday, Kim Jong-un issued an order "on immediately stabilizing the supply of medicines in Pyongyang City by involving the powerful forces of the military medical field of the People's Army," according to the state-run KCNA.

It is unclear how exactly the military will be involved in the nationwide effort to halt the spread of the mysterious "fever," but Kim specifically emphasized the need "to correct the vulnerable points in medicine supply system and take strong measures for transporting medicines."

The order comes after Kim complained that the drugs released from the state stockpiles "have not been supplied to inhabitants through pharmacies correctly in time." He accused civilian officials in charge of the epidemic response of "not properly recognizing the present crisis but only talking about the spirit of devotedly serving the people."

North Korea has been battling an "explosive" spread of the disease since late April, with a "maximum emergency quarantine system" and strict lockdowns introduced nationwide last week. Authorities have confirmed that at least one patient died carrying the Covid-19 Omicron variant, but without mass testing and vaccination programs they have stopped short of attributing any other cases to the virus behind the global pandemic.

"From the materials submitted to the court, it follows that the person involved is a supporter of the ideas of neo-Nazism and planned an armed attack on people in one of the shopping and entertainment centers in Sochi on May 9," the press service's Telegram channel said.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Buffalo Killer Wasn't Conservative, Also Despised Fox News, Greg Gutfeld, Ben Shapiro, Rupert Murdoch
By Warner Todd Huston

[WesternJournal] After a self-identified “white supremacist” allegedly shot up a New York grocery store, many news outlets and left-leaning Twitter users went wild trying to pin the crime on Fox News, Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, Greg Gutfeld and other people on the right. But now it has been revealed that the suspect openly hated all the conservatives the media wants to blame as a motivation for the crime.

On Saturday, a man police have identified as Payton Gendron, 18, of Conklin, New York, allegedly committed the murder of ten people and the wounding of three others inside a Tops Friendly Market in a predominantly black neighborhood of Buffalo, New York.

Witness said the man entered the store wearing military-styled gear and opened fire with a rifle while yelling racial epithets in an act police called “racially motivated violent extremism,” the Associated Press reported.

The shooter also carried a helmet cam on his head and reportedly began streaming the shooting live on the streaming platform Twitch for several minutes before the site shut down the live feed.

Authorities did not speculate on the motive for the crime, but leftists in the media and on Twitter immediately blamed conservative TV personalities.

Science & Technology
Here's The Official Explanation For Mars 'Doorway'
[ZeroHedge] The Brits have 'debunked' a photograph taken on May 7 by NASA's Curiosity rover on Mars which resembles a doorway cut into the side of a cliff.

There are two explanations; it's a small, naturally occurring rectangular gap, and it's a tiny, naturally occurring rectangular gap.

In a statement to Science Live, France-based planetary geologist Nicholas Mangold says it's less than 3 feet (1 meter) high.

Professor Sanjeev Gupta at Imperial College London told the Daily Telegraph that it's even smaller - measuring roughly 30cm by 45cm. (11" x 17"), and caused by small fractures in the rock.

"There are linear fractures throughout this outcrop, and this is a location where several linear fractures happen to intersect," according to the scientists.

One can also look at the surrounding area via gigapan, where a similar 'cave door' can be seen to the left.

Curiosity is currently climbing an 18,000 foot mountain, Mount Sharp, the crater of which the rover landed in August 2012. The odd photo was taken on Greenheugh Pediment, which notably has rough, 'gator-back' terrain that resembles reptilian scales.

As VICE notes, "The door-like formation is just the latest in a series of weird extraterrestrial features spotted over the decades by interplanetary explorers, robotic and human, that have sparked the imaginations of onlookers. Earlier this week, people marveled at new images of claw-like scratches that stretch for hundreds of miles across the western hemisphere of the red planet, which were captured from outer space by the European Space Agency’s Mars Express orbiter. These are not the markings of some giant Martian cat in search of a scratching post, but rather ancient fault lines."
