Britain
UK jails asylum seeker for random murder in ‘revenge’ for Israeli response to Oct. 7
[IsraelTimes] Judge says Moroccan national killed 70-year-old man in ‘a terrorist act’ meant ‘to frighten the people of Britain and undermine the freedoms they enjoy’

A Moroccan asylum seeker on Friday was sentenced to life in prison for randomly stabbing a British man to death in revenge for Israel’s military response to the October 7 onslaught.

Ahmed Alid, 45, murdered victim Terence Carney, 70, in the streets of the northeastern English town of Hartlepool, eight days after Hamas terrorists attacked Israel last October.

Judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb told Alid he had “attacked and murdered… in a terrorist act,” and said he would spend a minimum of 44 years behind bars.

She said he had “hoped to frighten the people of Britain and undermine the freedoms they enjoy” in actions “intended as revenge” for Israel’s response to the Hamas attack, in which terrorists killed some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took 252 hostages into Gaza.

“You intended it as revenge for the actions of a foreign country, Israel, and to intimidate and influence the British government in its international relations.”

Minutes before killing Carney, Alid had also attempted to murder his housemate, Christian convert Javed Nouri, by breaking into his bedroom and hacking at him while he slept.

Alid shouted “Allahu Akbar” (“God is greatest”) during the attack at the government-approved asylum seekers’ accommodation before fleeing into the street, still armed with a knife.

That attack on Nouri had been “an attempt to punish him for converting to Christianity,” the judge said, adding that he had shown “no genuine remorse or pity” for his victims.

Alid admitted to police that Carney was “innocent” but justified killing him by saying Britain had created the “Zionist entity” of Israel and should make them leave, adding: “They killed children and I killed an old man.”

He had denied murder, attempted murder and assaulting two police officers.

He was unanimously found guilty of all four charges by a jury at Teesside Crown Court in Middlesbrough last month.

In a victim impact statement, the victim’s wife Patricia Carney said she could no longer go into town because it was “too painful” to be near the spot where her husband was murdered.

Nouri said the attack had destroyed his sense of safety.

“I would expect to be arrested and killed in my home country for converting to Christianity but I did not expect to be attacked in my sleep here,” his statement said. “How is it possible for someone to destroy someone’s life because of his religion?”
In the days following the October 7 attack by Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
, Morocco-born Ahmed Alid, 45, became increasingly agitated, 'laughing and praising God' as the news of each atrocity was reported.

Eight days after Hamas attacked Israel, he launched a ferocious knife attack on Javed Nouri, a housemate in a four bed asylum hostel, who he hated because he had converted to Christianity.

After Mr Nouri fought off his attacker, Alid grabbed a kitchen knife with a 20 inch blade and ran into the streets in the early hours of the morning where he encountered Terrence Carney, 70, and, shouting Alluha Akbar, stabbed him six times causing fatal injuries.

Alid, from Fez, Morocco, came to the UK to seek asylum after drifting around Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
for more than a decade, finding a home in Hartlepool, Durham.

He could offer no explanation as to why he was claiming asylum, other than security services were 'harassing ' him at the shop he ran in the popular tourist city.

His housemate, Iranian asylum seeker Javed Nouri, reported Alid to police and Home Office housing managers on October 9 and 13 - revealing how he would sit in the kitchen with a knife and give him 'bad looks' following his conversion to Christianity. Mr Nouri was told no further action would be taken as Alid had not committed an offence.

Mr Nouri also described seeing Alid laughing at coverage of the October 7 attacks but was told by police there was nothing they could do unless he was carrying the knife around the house or using it to threaten people.

Two days after sharing his concerns, Nouri was woken at 5am to find Alid breaking into his bedroom brandishing two kitchen knives. The attacker stabbed him in the chest and face before he and another housemate were able to fight him off.

In a police interview following his arrest, Alid attacked two female officers, yelling 'Paleostine' and 'Allahuakbar' [god is great] as he grabbed one of them and wrestled her to the ground, causing his solicitor to dial 999.

Asked if he intended to kill more people, Alid said: 'I swear by Allah if I had a machine gun and I had more weapons that they would be in thousands.

'I was going to contact someone to get me a machine gun and I would have done more and then that person told me to carry on with the knife.'

He told the officers if it had not been for the wounds to his hands from the knife, he would have continued the killing.

The court heard Alid, a former pastry chef, had travelled from Morocco to Spain in 2007.

He spent just days or weeks in some countries, but stayed for years in Germany - where he was briefly incarcerated
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
for entering the country without a passport or visa - but never achieved his aim of opening a shop. The terrorist tried to marry a German woman but had lost his passport in Greece, he told the court, so the marriage could not go through.

He claimed asylum and spent the next three years living in a hotel in Hull and then state-funded accommodation in a terraced house in Hartlepool, waiting for his claim to be processed. While his asylum status was still being processed he was permitted to work four hours a week, but that did not lead to him getting a job and he was often seen jogging around Hartlepool to keep fit.

The devout Moslem, who prayed five times a day and attended communal prayer at a mosque, clashed with his housemates over religion.

Israeli tourist in Belgium brutally attacked for peeling off anti-Israeli sticker
[IsraelTimes] In police complaint, Amnon Ohana, 64, says his jaw was broken when he was attacked by 10 men in front of his daughter at a Bruges train station as conductor, passersby looked on

An Israeli tourist was brutally attacked by several men in front of his daughter at a train station in the Belgian city of Bruges on Friday, after he was seen removing an anti-Israel sticker.

The victim, Amnon Ohana, 64, and his daughter Shira, 29, told police in a complaint that his jaw was fractured when about 10 aggressors confronted him after he peeled the sticker from a wall at the train station.

In a video of the incident filmed by his daughter, two men can be seen shouting at the Israelis from an elevated position, before one of them, a man in his twenties, descends a flight of stairs in pursuit of them as a train conductor and passersby look on.

This altercation followed an earlier beating, which Ohana and his daughter escaped by running downstairs, the father said in the complaint.

Downstairs, the assailant was filmed punching the Israeli man in the ribcage and pushing him to the floor, where he continues to assault him as the daughter films and screams for him to stop.

"I have you on video, fuck off," the victim’s daughter can be heard yelling in the video.

Ohana’s discharge letter from Oostende hospital confirmed that he had a fractured jaw and multiple contusions across his body.

The Israeli embassy in Belgium filed a complaint on the incident, according to Hebrew media reports, demanding that the suspect be arrested and prosecuted. The Walla news site added that Israeli Ambassador to Belgium Idit Rosenzweig-Abu in Brussels was in contact with Ohana and his daughter.

Rabbi Mencahem Margolin, director of the European Jewish Association, warned in a statement that the assault was part of an escalation of antisemitic violence that, unless curbed, may likely lead to loss of life.

"It is no longer just verbal violence or spitting but real physical attacks that can end in disaster," Margolin said, calling on police to arrest the suspects, charge them with an antisemitic hate crime and punish them to the full extent of the law.

Europe
Shooting reported next to Israeli Embassy in Stockholm
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli Embassy in Stockholm has been sealed off after a shooting early this morning, according to local media reports.

Police press officer Per Fahlström tells newspaper Expressen that a police patrol heard loud bangs, suspected to be from a firearm. The area was cordoned off shortly after 2 a.m., and at 6:30 a.m. the police wrote that their investigations indicated there was a shooting in the area.

Police are posted at the Israeli Embassy, where they are searching for traces of gunfire. Fahlström does not comment on whether the embassy was the target of the suspected shooting.

A preliminary investigation into serious weapons crime has been launched. Fahlström has told media that several people have been detained, without elaborating further.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry says the incident is being probed by Swedish authorities and there are no further details available.

Belgium’s Ghent university severs ties with three Israeli institutions
[IsraelTimes] Belgium’s University of Ghent (UGent) is severing ties with three Israeli educational or research institutions which it says no longer align with UGent’s human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
policy, its rector says.

Pro-Paleostinian demonstrators in Ghent have been protesting against Israel’s operations in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. and have been occupying parts of the university since early this month.

The university’s rector, Rik Van de Walle, says in a statement that ties are being cut with the Holon Institute of Technology, MIGAL Galilee Research Institute and the Volcani Center, which carries out agricultural research.

"We currently assess these three partners as problematic according to the Ghent University human rights test, in contrast to the positive evaluation we gave these partners at the start of our collaboration," Van de Walle says.

Partnerships with MIGAL Galilee Research Institute and the Volcani Center "were no longer desirable" due to their affiliation with Israeli ministries, an investigation by the University of Ghent found, and collaboration with the Holon Institute "was problematic" because it provided material support to the army for actions in Gaza, the university claims.

The three Israeli institutions did not immediately comment.

California college professor to stand trial in death of pro-Israel protester last year
[IsraelTimes] Loay Abdelfattah AlnajiIf accused of striking Paul Kessler with megaphone; could face over 4 years in jail if found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and battery

A judge decided Wednesday that a Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, college professor will stand trial for involuntary manslaughter and battery in the death of a Jewish counter-protester during demonstrations over the Israel-Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
war last year.

Superior Court Judge Ryan Wright judge declared after a two-day preliminary hearing that there’s enough evidence to try Loay Abdelfattah Alnaji,
…previously in our archives as Loay Alnaji, he has been a faculty advisor for Moorpark College’s Muslim Student Association — a long-established youth arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America — and is an active member of the Islamic Society of Simi Valley. His YouTube channel, shut down after his arrest, while said to be an adjunct to his classroom teaching, was reportedly chock full of videos in Arabic. Make of that what you will, dear Reader…
according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.

Alnaji, 51, is accused of striking Paul Kessler with a megaphone in November during a confrontation at an event that started as a pro-Paleostinian demonstration in Thousand Oaks, a suburb northwest of Los Angeles.

Kessler, 69, fell backward and struck his head on the pavement. He died the next day at a hospital.

Alnaji was charged with two felonies: involuntary manslaughter and battery causing serious bodily injury, with special allegations of personally inflicting great bodily harm injury on each count, the DA’s office said.

If found guilty of all charges, he could be sentenced to more than four years in prison.

Alnaji posted $50,000 bail. An email and phone message for Alnaji’s lawyer, Ron Bamieh, weren’t immediately returned Wednesday.

Alnaji, a professor of computer science at Moorpark College, had espoused pro-Paleostinian views on his Facebook page and other social media accounts, many of which were taken down in the days after Kessler’s death, according to the Los Angeles Times.

CUNY college scraps Hillel Memorial Day event over anti-Israel protest, security fears
[IsraelTimes] Brooklyn’s Kingsborough Community College cancels gathering after request for more security; Baruch College nixes Independence Day event after Hillel refuses alternative locations

A branch of the City University of New York canceled an event organized by Jewish campus group Hillel this week marking Israel’s Memorial Day, citing an anti-Israel protest and security concerns.

The cancellation at Brooklyn’s Kingsborough Community College came following years of outspoken pro-Paleostinian advocacy across the CUNY system that has ramped up since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
war, along with longstanding allegations by Jewish groups that its administrators do not do enough to protect Jewish students. And they occurred shortly before a group of pro-Paleostinian activists staged an hours-long occupation of a CUNY building in Manhattan, even as the wave of pro-Paleostinian encampments at other schools is dying down.

"We felt saddened and dismayed that the college canceled our Yom Hazikaron event instead of providing security to protect us from threats," Kingsborough Hillel’s faculty adviser, Susan Aranoff, a business professor, told the New York Jewish Week, using the Hebrew name for Israel’s Memorial Day. "The college must protect freedom of expression for all."

The Hillel at Baruch College, another branch of CUNY, also said its event for Israel’s Independence Day had been canceled. The school told the New York Jewish Week it had offered alternative locations for that event, but Hillel declined to accept them. Queens College’s Hillel, meanwhile, did host Memorial and Independence Day events without incident.

A CUNY spokesperson said the university system is "committed to ensuring that every student and faculty or staff member is safe from violence, intimidation and harassment."

"We also reaffirm that everyone in our community has a constitutional right to free speech. CUNY is working with campus leaders to ensure all our community members are protected during school events," the spokesperson said.

Kingsborough Hillel, which serves about 30 to 40 students at the college in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, had planned a Zoom event with a former Israeli soldier and cybersecurity expert. The students attending the event were set to gather in-person on campus, where they planned to hold a memorial service and light a candle.

Ahead of the event, anti-Israel protest groups issued a call to rally next to the campus on Oriental Boulevard, circulating a graphic that said, "Students and workers say no to rehabilitating the image of war criminals."

Kingsborough’s Hillel asked the administration for upgraded security due to the protest. Instead, the administration opted to cancel the event hours before it was supposed to start, the college’s Hillel told the New York Jewish Week.

A Kingsborough spokesperson confirmed the event had been canceled due to protests "out of an abundance of caution to ensure safety and appropriate access to campus for our students, faculty, and staff."

A number of faculty asked the administration to reverse the decision to no avail, Hillel said. Jeff Lax, a Kingsborough business professor and outspoken advocate for Zionist students, said he requested a meeting and waited outside the office of University President Suri Duitch for 20 minutes while she was inside, but said she did not come out to speak with him.

The pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protest still took place, drawing around 30 people who waved Paleostinian flags and, according to a video by Lax, chanted, "Resistance® is justified when people are occupied."

The protesters declared "victory" after the event.

"The shameful event allowing a former high-ranking IOF soldier on campus, hosted by Kingsborough Community College and Hillel, has been SHUT DOWN!" a student pro-Paleostinian group posted on social media, using a derisive abbreviation for Israel’s military that stands for Israel Occupation Force. "Power to CUNY students and workers! Free Paleostine!"

The next day, on Tuesday, Kingsborough Hillel was scheduled to hold an Israeli Independence Day event on an outdoor terrace on campus, but the college ordered organizers to move the event indoors. A photo from the scene showed nine security guards stationed outside the door.

Meanwhile,
...back at the bunker, his Excellency called the chief of staff and complained that the artillery was keeping him awake...
at Baruch, the campus Hillel said on Instagram last week that the college had ordered the club’s Yom Ha’atzmaut, or Independence Day, event on May 2 "canceled" due to security concerns.

Baruch College told the New York Jewish Week that Hillel had been offered other locations for the event.

"The safety of our students remains our top priority," the college said in a statement. "Regarding the Yom Ha’atzmaut celebration, Hillel was offered two alternative spaces on campus. They declined the opportunity to hold the event in these alternative locations, choosing to cancel instead."

Baruch Hillel did not respond to a request for comment, but posted on Instagram that the school is "sending a strong message to Jewish students that they cannot adequately protect Jewish students, while the protestors spew hateful and intimidating language in our public spaces without any repercussions."

The post added, "Baruch College is silencing the voice of the Jewish students and their ability to celebrate their Jewish identity proudly and openly."

In the same Instagram post, the Hillel also uploaded video showing protesters chanting, "Baruch Hillel you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide."

Across the city, Queens College’s Hillel held a Memorial Day event on campus on Tuesday and an "Israelfest" event on Wednesday to celebrate Israel’s Independence Day.

The college’s Hillel director, Jenna Citron Schwab, said no protesters were visible — a shift from earlier in the academic year, when the school was rocked by anti-Israel protests, and an interfaith meeting between Moslem and Jewish students was marred by inflammatory rhetoric and shouting. In March, vandals scrawled graffiti on campus including swastikas and threats to Jews. Schwab said the atmosphere has since improved.

"Every campus has its challenges," she said. "Right now, we’re working closely with the administration to tackle the challenges that we’re seeing."

Separately, on Tuesday night, anti-Israel protesters took over the CUNY Graduate Center, in the first protest of its kind at the Manhattan university. According to video distributed by protest groups on the Telegram messaging app, the protesters occupied the center’s lobby, chanting the slogan, "Disclose, divest, we will not stop, we will not rest," which has become popular at student pro-Paleostinian protests.

The demonstrators pasted signs onto an adjacent library, renaming it the "Al Aqsa University Library" after the Moslem holy site adjacent to the Western Wall and atop the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site. The mosque has been a flashpoint for conflict and is the namesake of Hamas’ title for its Oct. 7 invasion of Israel, which it dubbed the "Al Aqsa Flood."

Minutes after the CUNY demonstrators announced their rally at the Graduate Center, the protest group Within Our Lifetime, which endorsed the October 7 attack, sent out a statement urging its followers to "Flood CUNY for Gazoo

At 10:20 p.m., the Graduate Center’s interim president, Josh Brumberg, sent out an email to the campus community stating that he had emailed CUNY Chancellor Félix Matos Rodríguez about the protest, according to a copy of the email shared with the New York Jewish Week.

Brumberg said protesters’ demands included a meeting with Rodríguez, amnesty for other CUNY protesters, divestment from companies "complicit in the imperialist-zionist genocide," and cutting all ties with Israeli academic institutions.

Brumberg also said he had agreed to not discipline any of the demonstrators. Two weeks ago, more than 100 people were arrested when the NYPD cleared out an encampment at the City College of New York, another CUNY branch.

The protest at the Graduate Center dissolved that night, according to a statement from the school.

"After several hours of discussion, an amicable resolution was reached and the demonstrators left peacefully," the statement said. "The Graduate Center is committed to ensuring first amendment rights and freedom of expression while maintaining University policies to safeguard students’ right to an education and protect our community from harassment, discrimination, and vandalism."

Israeli soldier moderately hurt in West Bank stabbing; assailant caught
[IsraelTimes] Three Islamic Jihad gunmen killed overnight during IDF operation in Tulkarem; troops raid offices allegedly used to fund terror.

An Israeli soldier was stabbed near the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar and suffered moderate injuries, the military and medics said Thursday.

The Israel Defense Forces said the noncommissioned officer was stabbed at Yitzhar Junction, near Huwara, while in his vehicle. The stabber then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace.

The military said it launched a manhunt for the Paleostinian assailant and was blocking roads in the area. Three hours later, the suspected attacker was caught in the Paleostinian town of Awarta, not far from where the attack took place, the IDF said.

The maimed man was able to reach a nearby military position after being attacked. There, he told soldiers that he had slowed down and opened the window of his vehicle because he saw a Paleostinian gesturing to him with his hand, the Kan public broadcaster reported.

Medics took the soldier to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, which said that after receiving initial medical treatment he was now regarded as lightly maimed.

Huwara has been a hotbed of violence in recent years with several deadly terror attacks in and around the Paleostinian town, which have been met with Dire Revenge attacks from bad boy settlers who have repeatedly rampaged through it.

It was the second stabbing incident of the day after early in the morning a man tried to stab Border Police officers in East Jerusalem. Officers opened fire on the man, killing him before he could cause any injuries.

There was deadly violence in other areas of the West Bank, with three Paleostinian button men killed overnight in festivities with troops during a crackdown on terror funding in the territory, according to Paleostinian Authority officials and the IDF. The military said the raids targeted offices allegedly involved in funneling money for terror purposes in Tulkarem, Nablus, Qalqilya, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Tubas, and other locations. Cash, documents, and "technological equipment" were seized amid the raids, the IDF said.

In Tulkarem and Qalqiliya, troops came under attack — though none of them were hurt — and returned fire, according to the army.

Border Police troops also opened fire and killed three Paleostinian button men who were planting bombs in Tulkarem, the military said. The Paleostinian Authority’s health ministry identified those killed as Ayman Ahmad Mubarak, 26, Husam Imad Daabas, 22, and Mohammed Yusif Nasrallah, 27.

terror group later claimed the three as members of its armed wing.

Several others were maimed by IDF fire in Tulkarem, the PA ministry said.

On Wednesday, Paleostinian officials said Israeli troops killed a man as festivities broke out after a West Bank march commemorating the Paleostinian "Nakba," or catastrophe, of Israel’s creation in 1948. The Israeli army did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Since October 7, troops have arrested some 4,000 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,700 affiliated with Hamas

Climate activists breach German airport, glue themselves to runway during busy travel weekend
[NYPost] German police arrested eight climate activists who breached the grounds of Munich airport on Saturday, briefly causing the airport to close and leading to around 60 flight cancelations during a busy holiday weekend.
"Get the chainsaw!"
Six of the activists glued themselves to a runway, a police spokesperson said, adding the situation was now under control, with both of the airport’s runways open for arrivals and takeoffs.

Climate group Last Generation,
which has carried out similar protests in the past, said it was responsible for the action in a series of posts on X showing members on what appeared to be a runway or tarmac with protest signs.

The group later said six individuals had seated themselves on airport asphalt at 4:45 a.m. local time to block planes, and it criticized Berlin for subsidizing airlines at the expense of rail.

"Problem is the government, not our holiday," one of the signs read.

Ah, yes. But how is homosexuality defined, pray tell? Abusing pretty boys is not defined in that category, or the entire Ummah would have to be rewired. Nor is abusing powerless men included, because that would forbid one of the key pleasures of the strong jihad of the sword. What then is left? Only choosing a lifestyle of being abused by other men as if one were a woman, as far as I can tell.

Lawmakers brawl as Taiwan's parliament descends into chaos
[FoxNews] Taiwan’s parliament descended into a brawl on Friday as lawmakers disagreed over reforms in the chamber.

Video of the melee appeared to show punches being thrown, a curtain in the chamber being ripped and a lawmaker who was crawling over other members falling on his head. He was rushed to the hospital.

The fight came just days before the country’s new President-elect Lai Ching-te is set to take office on Monday with his party in the minority.

Lai Ching-te is succeeding President Tsai Ing-wen. Lai and Tsai are from the same party, with Lai having served as Tsai’s vice president.

Lawmakers were also seen jumping over tables and shoving and tackling colleagues.

One of the more controversial reforms being voted on was the proposal to levy criminal penalties for officials found to be lying in parliament.

The DPP has claimed the opposition parties are trying to move through reforms without the proper process in an "an unconstitutional abuse of power."

"The DPP does not want this to be passed as they have always been used to monopolizing power," The KMT's Jessica Chen, countered to Reuters while wearing a military helmet.

This isn’t the first time Taiwan’s occasionally raucous parliament has descended into chaos. In 2020, pig guts were thrown onto the chamber floor during a dispute over pork imports.

South Korea, with World's Lowest Birth Rate, Prepares Complete Overhaul of Fertility Policy
[Breitbart] Conservative South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol ordered his officials to begin a “complete review” of all federal policies to encourage Koreans to have children on Friday, following his announcement of the future establishment of a “low birthrate response planning ministry.”

Yoon announced the planned creation of a new ministry to address the nation’s birth rate collapse on May 9 during an extended press conference filled with newsworthy moments, including an apology offered for a corruption scandal involving First Lady Kim Keon-hee. The scandal, in which Kim was reportedly caught accepting a $2,200 Dior handbag as an illicit gift, peaked right before South Korea’s midterm elections in April, in which the left-wing Democratic Party crushed Yoon’s People Power Party (PPP).

The remarks Friday were made during what the Yonhap news agency described as a “financial strategy meeting” to reorganize federal government spending in Seoul. Yoon tasked his officials with studying the outrageous amount of money Seoul has spent on attempting to increase South Korea’s birth rate – over $273 billion since 2006 – and the relative success rates of individual programs.

There is no significant evidence that the billions have made a difference. South Korea has maintained the world’s lowest birth rate for a decade. As of 2023, the national fertility rate stood at 0.72 children per woman of childbearing age. Some parts of the country, such as Seoul, have logged birth rates as low as 0.55 children per woman. For comparison, “replacement fertility” – the rate at which women must have children in a country to ensure the population stays stable – is 2.1 children per woman of childbearing age.

Combined with the nation’s high life expectancy, South Korea is facing a situation in which its senior citizen population is booming, but few couples are having children, potentially plunging the country into an economic crisis when there are not enough workers to maintain social safety net programs for the elderly. Some estimates suggest South Korea’s population of participants in the workforce could fall by as much as 10 million people by 2044.

Polling and other investigations suggest several major reasons for the low birth rate, including economic concerns, particularly expressed by women who fear they will lose their careers if they become mothers, and an actively hostile social environment for children. “No-kid zones” – businesses and public spaces that explicitly ban children from being present – have proliferated in recent years, even restricting children from going to libraries and other traditionally kid-friendly spaces.

Both the federal government and local-level governments in South Korea have done little to address the social hostility, choosing to instead prioritize financial incentives. In January, the national government announced it would pay parents an up-front $1,500 bonus for every new child born. In April, Seoul city officials began considering a much larger bonus of about $72,500, or 100 million won, for the birth of a baby, emulating a policy implemented by the private corporation Booyoung Group.

Other cities have taken different initiatives. In Incheon, the government implemented a massive package of subsidies per child distributed throughout the child’s life, through age 18. In Seongnam, officials began targeting the problem at the root, hosting mass blind dating events in an attempt to boost marriage rates.

'I Can No Longer in Good Conscience Continue to Represent This Administration' – Biden Interior Department Staffer Abruptly Resigns
[Gateway] An Interior Department staffer abruptly resigned on Wednesday in protest over the Biden Regime’s stance on the Israel-Gaza war.

Lily Greenberg Call, a Jewish special assistant to the chief of staff in the Department of Interior, resigned in protest and blasted Joe Biden in a phone call with the AP.

In a phone interview with The Associated Press, Call blasted Joe Biden’s comments on Israel and Jews.

"In an interview with The Associated Press, Call pointed to comments by Biden, including at a White House Hanukkah event where he said "Were there no Israel, there wouldn’t be a Jew in the world who was safe" and at an event at Washington’s Holocaust Memorial last week in which he said the Oct. 7 Hamas-led attacks that triggered the war were driven by an "ancient desire to wipe out the Jewish people."" The AP reported.

"He is making Jews the face of the American war machine. And that is so deeply wrong," Call told the AP, noting that ancestors of hers were killed by "state-sponsored violence."

In her resignation letter, Call said she was initially excited to join the Biden Administration: "However, I can no longer in good conscience continue to represent this administration," she wrote in a letter.

Lily Greenberg-Call, a special assistant to the chief of staff in the Interior Department, went out with a bang Wednesday with a red-hot resignation letter to Interior Secretary Deb Haaland.

“I can no longer in good conscience continue to represent this administration amidst President Biden’s disastrous, continued support for Israel’s genocide,” wrote Greenberg-Call, 26 who additionally condemned Israel’s “violations of international law” perpetrated with “American weapons.”

Workers at Alabama Mercedes plants break string of wins for UAW by rejecting unionization
[Washington Examiner] Autoworkers at two Alabama Mercedes-Benz factories voted against a move to join the United Auto Workers union on Friday, breaking a string of unionizations in the South.

Unionization failed 56% to 44% with a total of 4,687 votes cast and 7% of eligible voters abstaining. The National Labor Relations Board said both sides will have to wait five days to file an objection.

UAW President Shawn Fain told workers the results were not what the union had hoped for, but he said the UAW eventually will prevail. "These courageous workers reached out to us because they want justice," he said.

Fain compared the unionization fight to the biblical David and Goliath. Sometimes Goliath wins a battle, "but ultimately, David will win the war," he said. "These workers will win their fair share."

In April, the UAW unionized workers at a Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, after two other tries.

Gov. Kay Ivey (R-AL) voiced her pleasure for the workers’ decision, saying the "workers in Vance have spoken, and they have spoken clearly! Alabama is not Michigan, and we are not the Sweet Home to the UAW."

The data reflects UAW unionizing a factory, many times results in that automaker opening a plant in a NAFTA location, then closing the US Factory location down to avoid the costs of always increasing UAW labor and production control demandss.

Eg. 2023 figures indicate the UAW membership is now only about 1/3 of what it was about 10 years ago.

Then there is the question of the UAW leadership donating $$$ Millions to political and social causes the Rank-n-File do not support.

White House says there will be a 'small US military component' protecting the new $320 million pier...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A 'small' contingent of U.S. military personnel will provide security for a new $320 million floating pier bringing food aid to hungry residents of Gaza amid Israel's war on Hamas, the White House said.

White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters the U.S. military members would be there to provide security and assist in the complex orchestration of moving relief by sea and then distributing it to desperate residents by truck.

He said there would be a 'small U.S. military component on the pier itself.'

'One is to provide a modicum of security for it. But also to assist with the logistics. You're going to have ships pulling up to this pier. Not the big cargo ships. They'll transport it to smaller ships off the coast of Gaza ... You're going to need some logistical support to get it from the ships onto the trucks,' he said.

His comments to reporters come just two days after U.S. Central Command announced it had successfully anchored the pier to the beach in Gaza.

It stressed that no U.S. troops entered Gaza proper.

'As part of this effort, no U.S. troops entered Gaza. Trucks carrying humanitarian assistance are expected to begin moving ashore in the coming days. The United Nations will receive the aid and coordinate its distribution into Gaza,' according to the statement.

Kirby was emphatic that 'there are no U.S. servicemembers in Gaza.' President Biden, while providing billions in U.S. congressionally-appropriated military support to Gaza and using naval assets to protect navigation while helping foil attacks on Israel, has not involved U.S. forces in Israel's operation in Gaza.

Kirby's comments about U.S. forces came as he said there was a 'robust security plan' for the effort, and that the administration was 'laser focused on ensuring the safety of everybody involved in this effort,' amid concerns it could be vulnerable to attack.

'Yes, we did' fund Wuhan gain-of-function research, 'virtually every lab' does it: NIH official
[JustTheNews] "The broad definition is lab jargon" without regulatory relevance, and it's not dangerous, Lawrence Tabak tells COVID subcommittee. GOP reads from damning unreleased emails about evading FOIA, misleading NIH.

National Institutes of Health Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak found himself in a Clintonian callback at a House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic hearing Thursday on NIH oversight of funding that may have helped unleash the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This is sort of like what the definition of 'is' is," Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, deadpanned as Tabak distinguished between the broad definition of gain-of-function research on a "news and events" page NIH erased between Oct. 19 and 21, 2021, and the narrow definition its regulators use for grant approval and compliance on a replacement page.

Incident involving Islamist militia leader in Eastern Sudan
[SUDANTRIBUNE] On Friday, a road accident involving a four-wheel drive vehicle carrying al-Misbah Abu Zaid, commander of the Islamist al-Baraa Bin Malik battalion, occurred on the Khashm El-Girba — Kassala road in eastern Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
. The accident resulted in two fatalities and several injuries.

According to the police press office, a tyre explosion caused the vehicle to overturn in the al-Shawak area. Among the injured was al-Misbah Abu Zaid, who was taken to Kassala Hospital for treatment along with eight others. He later appeared at the funeral of one of the dear departed.

The al-Baraa Bin Malik battalion is an Islamist fighting force allied with the Sudanese army.

#1  The Muslim Brotherhood rears its ugly head:
Arab Wall, Arab Assessments, 21 Nov ، 2023
"There is increasing speculation regarding the extent of the organizational affiliation between the Muslim Brotherhood and the “Al-Baraa bin Malik” battalion. This battalion is actively engaged in combat alongside the Sudanese army against the Rapid Support Forces. This speculation arises primarily due to indications suggesting potential links between the two entities. These encompass both the historical origins of the battalion’s establishment and the association of some of its leaders with Islamist symbols. The participation of the battalion in the initial confrontations in Sudan is significant due to its official affiliation with the reserve forces of the Ministry of Defense. This affiliation implies that there was an approval, albeit unannounced, for their involvement. ... The Brotherhood has played a multifaceted role in the armed confrontations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. From the initial days of the confrontations in April, the Brotherhood has aligned itself with the army and extended support through political and media channels

Human rights activists recognize Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiev as political prisoners
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The case against Abdulmumin Gazhdiev,
…a typo, intended to be Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, also spelt Abdulmumin Hajiyev, he’s the editor of the Chernovik newspaper. Along with Abubakar Rizvanov, head of the Ansar charity fund and Kemal Tambiev he was convicted of financing terrorism — collecting 68 million rubles and 200 thousand dollars for ISIS under the pretext of building mosques and helping poor Muslims. Israil Akhmednabiev (Abu Umar Sasitlinsky), a Dagestan preacher and founder of the Mukhadzhirun Islamic Foundation, had suggested they join forces for the work...
Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiev is politically motivated, human rights activists said. They recognized Rizvanov and Tambiev as political prisoners, demanding that the criminal prosecution of those convicted on charges of financing terrorism be stopped and that they be released, as well as an investigation into the torture of Kemal Tambiev.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, one of the three judges who passed sentence in the case of "Chernovik" journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, head of the "Ansar" foundation Abubakar Rizvanov and businessman Kemal Tambiev, Rizvan Zubairov, in his dissenting opinion criticized the grounds for the guilty verdict and, in fact, acquitted the journalist. Gadzhiev’s relatives expressed hope that the appellate court would take into account the defense’s arguments and the judge’s dissenting opinion.

Spain to recognize Palestinian state together with other countries
[Jpost] Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Friday that Madrid would only recognize a Palestinian state in a joint action with other countries.
How very progressive of you. Would that be the Palestinian/PLO state that is barely holding on in the West Bank or the Hamas state triggering the destruction of Gaza? Because as far as both are concerned, there can be only one.
In an interview with TV channel La Sexta, Sanchez also denied reports that the recognition would occur on May 21.
Probably better to postpone indefinitely, or until there is only one Palestinian terrorist government ruling over both statelets.

Government Corruption
Georgia court allows Donald Trump's appeal to remove the Fulton County DA from his election fraud case
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] The Georgia Court of Appeals has given a green light to Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
's case to remove Fani Willis from his election fraud trial in the latest blow to the Fulton County DA.

Willis has courted controversy while prosecuting the county's election interference case against Trump after it was revealed she had a past relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.

She escaped with just a slap on the wrist after Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee dramatically ruled she could stay on the Trump election interference case if Wade removed himself.

Trump and eight of his co-defendants charged in the Georgia state court have since urged the appeals court to overturn McAfee's March ruling.

Now the court has given Trump's appeal the green light to go ahead, but there is not yet a set timeline for when the case will be heard.

The court's decision to hear the appeal before trial could cause further delays in the case, one of four criminal prosecutions facing Trump as he seeks to unseat Democratic President Joe Biden in the November 5 election.

Trump has pleaded not guilty and accused prosecutors of a politically motivated effort to damage his campaign.

The court's decision to hear the case follows testimony inside McAfee's courtroom, which featured an acknowledgement from Willis and former special prosecutor Nathan Wade that they had a sexual relationship.

Lawyers for Donald Trump and multiple co-defendants tried to establish that the affair began before Willis brought Wade onto the case and said it posed a conflict of interest. But Willis said the relationship became romantic later.
"Until then, it was just about getting my mish smashed"
Following a dramatic evidentiary hearing with claims and counter-claims about lavish trips and cash reimbursements, McAfee gave the state two options: either Willis and her entire team step back from the case, or Wade remove himself from it.

He slammed Willis for a 'tremendous lapse in judgment' and for acting in an 'unprofessional manner', and found that while there was no actual conflict of interest, there was at least the appearance of one.

Wade stepped back hours after the judge's decision in March.

[REGNUM] On May 15, media reports appeared about the prevention of a conspiracy in Turkey. The purpose of the conspiracy is declared to be the overthrow of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. But very few details of this event are known. So what really happened there?
I ran a quick internet search on Turkey, as well as looking through the Daily Mail, the New York Post, Breitbart, the Times of Israel, the Jerusalem Post’s breaking news feed., and Rudaw. I found nothing about a plot against the Erdogan government. While this does not mean nothing happened, Hurriyet became a government mouthpiece during the Gulen nonsense back in 2015 or so.

Watch: Chief Economic Adviser Refuses To Admit Biden Is Lying About Inflation
[ZeroHedge] Joe Biden’s chief economic advisor refused to admit Thursday that the president keeps telling a huge lie by claiming that inflation was at 9 percent when he took office when it was really at 1.4 percent and shot up to 9 percent under Biden himself.

During an interview on Fox Business, host Neil Cavuto grilled Jared Bernstein, and told him directly “you’re lying,” and “just as bad” as Biden when he tried to dodge the matter.

CAVUTO: Why does Biden keep claiming inflation was 9% when he took office — when it was actually 1.4%?

BERNSTEIN: "The president talked about how concerned he was for households struggling with prices."

CAVUTO: "That's not what I asked you. Why does he keep misrepresenting… pic.twitter.com/lMaKNfeSOV

After Biden took office inflation surged to rates unseen since the early 1980s, peaking at an annual rate of 9.1 percent in June 2022, a full 17 months after he became president.

Yet, he keeps claiming it was ALREADY at 9 percent and that he inherited a weakened economy from Trump.

[Jpost] Spain will not authorize ships carrying weapons for Israel to call at its ports, Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares said on Friday, after the country refused to let a ship call at the southeastern port of Cartagena.

The ship was the first to be denied access to a Spanish port, Albares said, adding the refusal was consistent with the government's decision not to grant weapon export licenses to Israel since Oct. 7, as Spain doesn't "want to contribute to war."

Spain has refused permission for an Israel-bound ship carrying arms to call at the southeastern port of Cartagena, Transport Minister Oscar Puente said on Thursday.

The Marianne Danica was carrying a cargo of arms to Israel and had requested permission to call at Cartagena on May 21, Transport Minister Oscar Puente said on X on Thursday.

EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL ONBOARD
It was carrying nearly 27 tons of explosive material from India's Madras, El Pais reported.

The Foreign Ministry, which Puente said denied the authorization, did not immediately reply to repeated requests for comment.

Danica Maritime, the company managing the Marianne Danica, did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

The reports come amid a spat between the ruling Socialists and their hard-left partners over allowing the transit of vessels carrying arms to Israeli ports.

House passes bill allowing more officers to carry concealed firearms across state lines
[JustTheNews] The GOP-led House passed a bill on Thursday to allow more law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms across state lines.

The bill received support from 16 House Democrats while 185 opposed it.

The final vote was 221-185.

The LEOSA Reform Act, in it became law, would broaden the "authority for certain law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms across state lines."

The legislation would also allow "qualified active and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms and ammunition (including magazines) in school zones; in national parks; on state, local, or private property that is open to the public; and in certain federal facilities that are open to the public."
Another one to set aside until the Republicans control both Houses of Congress, and probably the White House as well.

Current information on the situation on the front line: May 17 (updated)
Direct Translation Via Google Translate. Edited.

On duty air defense systems destroyed one OTR over the territory of the Belgorod region and a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle over the territory of the Bryansk region.

20:07 Khar'kov and Khar'kov region. New arrivals.

Reported about new hits by FAB-500 and KAB-500 on buildings and structures of military personnel during offensive operations. It is also reported that enemy equipment, the T-64 tank and Ukrainian Armed Forces trucks have been damaged. Our KABs hit Ukrainian Armed Forces targets with pinpoint accuracy. The strikes were carried out by our front-line Su-34M bombers.

19:35 Kharkovskoe direction.

New massive strikes with Lancet loitering ammunition have become commonplace for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Thus, in Gontarovka, the enemy’s self-propelled gun “Bogdan” was destroyed and two T-64 tanks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hit.

18:10 Artemovsk direction.

Actively work our assault groups and armored vehicles. At the same time, we try as much as possible to minimize the risk of injury during an attack. Since early morning, our attack aircraft on Su-25SM aircraft have been sending the enemy a parcel of 122mm NURs.

Activity of various types and types of UAVs has also been reported.

17:12 According to the Russian Ministry of Defense for the past 24 hours in the Crimea and Krasnodar Territory was destroyed 125 enemy air drones. 25 naval drones were sunk in the Black Sea.

This was the largest unmanned attack of the year, during which the enemy achieved little - he disabled one substation in Sevastopol for several hours, damaged the Tuapse oil refinery and a tank in Novorossiysk. Moreover, the attack had been prepared for a long time, since April. They waited for May, but in the end it took place only in mid-May.

16:05 Around 15.30 Moscow time suppressed an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using aircraft-type UAVs against targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Duty air defense systems destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle over the territory of the Belgorod region.

14:17 Telegram channel “Fisherman":

Massive attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the south of Russia on the night of May 16-17, 2024.

Ukrainian formations carried out the largest-scale drone attack across Sevastopol and the Krasnodar Territory, launching a total of more than 140 aircraft and 20 sea drones.

In Sevastopol, the attack lasted several hours. The drones moved out from three directions in the Odessa region: attacks were noted in Sevastopol Bay, near Cape Fiolent, and in the Balaklava area.

In total, units of 31 Air Force and Air Defense divisions shot down 46 UAVs, five were suppressed by electronic warfare. Nine more drones were destroyed by rifle detachments of the Crimean Defense Group.

However, it was not without damage: one of the suppressed UAVs was still able to reach the Sevastopol substation. Because of this, most of the city was left without electricity. At the moment, power supply is being restored (at least two thirds of subscribers are already connected).

Simultaneously with the UAV raid, Sevastopol Bay was attacked by seven unmanned boats. Four of them were able to break through the booms and were destroyed on the immediate approaches, and three more were knocked out near Sevastopol.

The eighth BEC was immobilized by a naval aviation helicopter, and now they are trying to drag it to the shore. The ninth drone was also shot down about an hour ago west of Sevastopol.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also attacked the Krasnodar region. The main blow fell on Novorossiysk. The targets were oil depots, an industrial zone and the city port. In total, as of 12:00, more than 60 UAVs were shot down over Novorossiysk and on the nearby approaches.

There is information that BECs were used to attack the port, but at the moment we cannot confirm or deny the information.

The drones themselves, given their flight route, most likely entered Novorossiysk through the Sea of Azov, and the launch, most likely, was carried out from the Zaporozhye region.

In addition, in the morning an oil depot in Tuapse was attacked. Video of the drone's arrival was published by local channels. The UAV was flying through the mountains: this indicates that the drone flew around Novorossiysk and entered from the rear through Goryachiy Klyuch, bypassing the air defense position areas.

As we can clearly see, attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have again increased in the number of means used. This is the largest attack in the entire history of the Northern Military District, the purpose of which was to destroy energy facilities in Sevastopol and the Krasnodar Territory, as well as overload air defense systems.

Currently, local problems are present in several districts of Sevastopol; planned power-saving shutdowns have been introduced in the city to carry out repair and restoration work, but the main blow has still been contained.

At the same time, there is no need to relax. Remember last year's tactics? After massive UAV raids there is an equally large-scale missile attack, so this is to be expected now.

13:33 Statement by the head of the press center of the Vostok group -video.

Units of the Vostok group of troops continue to carry out combat missions in the special military operation zone.

During active operations, the group's units occupied more advantageous positions and defeated the manpower and equipment of the 58th motorized infantry brigade and the 128th territorial defense brigade in the areas of Velikaya Novoselka and Urozhayny.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 125 military personnel, two infantry fighting vehicles, three vehicles, a “Crab” self-propelled artillery mount and a 152mm “Gyacinth-B” gun.

12:37 Sumy region.

Reported about a new series of strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces. Tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces identifies enemy positions for high-precision strikes. The sound of an explosion was reported.

In addition, the enemy reports on his telegram channels about the work of our UAVs and aircraft.

The commander-in-chief said that the enemy launched an offensive much earlier than planned when he noticed the transfer of Ukrainian troops, but he was unable to break through the defenses. “However, we understand that there will be heavy fighting ahead and the enemy is preparing for this. The President also believes that before communicating with Moscow, a detailed plan should be created, agreed upon by the whole world. At the same time, Zelensky added that Putin does not benefit from dialogue with the whole world, “because even China will tell him: explain the seizure of territories. The deepest point of their advance is 10 km. There is no advance in the directions of some enemy brigades and did not have". According to the president, the Russians managed to break through the border due to a lack of air defense.

Zelensky added that the enemy reached the first line of defense, but “no one reached the concrete line of defense.” According to him, the first and second lines were built by the military, and the third, most powerful, by local authorities. At the same time, the president explained that it is the strongest, since it was not created under constant shelling.

08:18 Ukraine can use weapons from the United States only within its territory, Pentagon Speaker Sabrina Singh said: “We have not changed our position. We believe that the equipment, the capabilities that we provide to Ukraine, which other countries provide to Ukraine, should be used to return Ukrainian sovereign territory."

07:57 Air defense at night destroyed all 20 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type, which Russia attacked from Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk, the Air Force reported. The drones were destroyed within the Kharkov, Poltava, Vinnitsa, Odessa and Nikolaev regions.

07:40 Sevastopol was attacked by drones at night. “Governor” Mikhail Razvozhaev said that as a result of the attack, the work of the substation was suspended, there were spot power outages in the city, and classes were canceled in all schools, secondary education institutions and kindergartens.

In Novorossiysk, local residents counted at least 35 explosions overnight. According to them, the local port and oil depot were attacked. After the explosions, the port and part of the city were cut off. Authorities also said that public transport had been suspended. In addition, as a result of a night drone attack, a fire occurred at the Tuapse oil refinery. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that during the night the air defense allegedly destroyed and intercepted 102 drones: 51 over Crimea and 44 over the Krasnodar Territory, six over the Belgorod region and one over Kursk. In addition, six drone boats were allegedly destroyed in the Black Sea.

Ex-diversity boss at Facebook, Nike who orchestrated fake events to steal $5M gets five years, must pay back hefty sum
[NYPOST] The ex-diversity program manager for Facebook and Nike who stole more than $5 million from the mega companies to fund her "luxury lifestyle" was sentenced Monday to five years behind bars — and ordered to pay back the hefty sum.

Barbara Furlow-Smiles, 38, set up fake business deals, invoices and events — including a Juneteenth celebration — to line her own pockets, the Justice Department said.

"Furlow-Smiles shamelessly violated her position of trust as a DEI executive at Facebook to steal millions from the company utilizing a scheme involving fraudulent vendors, fake invoices, and cash kickbacks," US Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan said in a statement.

"After being terminated from Facebook, she brazenly continued the fraud as a DEI leader at Nike, where she stole another six-figure sum from their diversity program."

Furlow-Smiles pleaded guilty in December to the wire fraud scheme, which saw her take more than $4.9 million from Facebook before bilking a six-figure amount from Nike "to fund a luxury lifestyle in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Georgia, and Oregon," the DOJ said.

The social media company claimed her "crimes also resulted in anguish amongst those employees that worked closely with her," while Nike said her "complete lack of accountability or remorse was incredibly disappointing," according to sentencing memos obtained by CNBC.

From approximately January 2017 to September 2021, the Georgia native "led diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs at Facebook and was responsible for developing and executing DEI initiatives, operations, and engagement programs," prosecutors said.

She used her access to company credit cards and her power to "approve invoices for authorized vendors to pay numerous individuals," including her friends and relatives, "for goods and services that in truth were never provided to Facebook."

Those individuals — who allegedly included her former interns, her "university tutor," a hairstylist, baby-sitters and nannies — would later funnel kickbacks to Furlow-Smiles.

The associates — most of whom were reportedly unaware that the funds were coming from Facebook — would return the money to Furlow-Smiles in cash or via account transfers. The feds noted that the cash was sometimes delivered to Furlow-Smiles wrapped in T-shirts or other items.

She also misled Facebook into sending money to entities that did not provide kickbacks, including nearly $10,000 to an artist who created specialty portraits and more than $18,000 to an unnamed preschool.

Biden's betrayal of Israel sees the rise of the ‘Never Biden' voters
[American Thinker] In 2016, America was introduced to the "Never Trump" voter, people who contended that they were conservatives but that Donald Trump was such a disgusting human being that they couldn’t vote for him. By 2020, two things had happened: Some of them decided that, given his four years of successful conservative governance, they could vote for him despite his personality; others overtly or covertly joined the Democrat party. Now, it’s 2024, and we’re seeing a new breed of "Never" voter: The Jewish "Never Bidens" of the Democrat party.

I first learned that there was a name for these awakening Jews when a friend sent me an email with an incredible quotation: "My ’Never Again’ is trumping my ’Never Trump’ these days." In other words, the fear of another Holocaust is so great that Trump seems like a great option when compared to Biden.

I eventually traced the quotation to an Eli Lake essay at The Free Press entitled "The Rise of the ’Never Bidens’: Donors who once worried more about Donald Trump now see the president’s bid for a second term as the greater threat to America." Lake wrote about four very generous Jewish political donors, all of whom have been open about the fact that Biden’s decision to back Hamas, a genocidal, anti-American terrorist group, has given them second thoughts about their prior sense of revulsion when it comes to Donald Trump. Here’s the full context for that amazing quote about "Never Again" versus "Never Trump."
Cliff Asness, a Republican donor who says he "spent well over seven figures" to support Trump’s primary opponent Nikki Haley, told The Free Press that "My ’Never Again’ is trumping my ’Never Trump’ these days."

"Biden is a huge disappointment, really a moral outrage with this arms embargo being only the latest and greatest outrage," continued Asness, the co-founder of AQR Capital Management. "Despite my long opposition to him, this makes me more likely, though I haven’t quite gotten there yet, to see Trump as the better of two bad alternatives."

Some might say, "Well, Asness is a Republican, so of course he’ll return to the home base for elections." Maybe, but what about Haim Saban, a major Democrat party donor, who issued a strong warning to the Democrat party about Biden’s decision to support Hamas:

Gaza war death toll mounts to 35,303
[GEO.TV] At least 35,303 Palestinians have been killed and 79,261 have been wounded in Israel's military offensive on Gaza since October 7, the Gaza health ministry said in a statement on Friday.
Not according to the other branch of the UN, which insists Hamas’s numbers are over by a good 10,000. So really a scant 25,000, of which 15,000 are jihadis, per Israel.

#2  Every Arab Muslim in Gaza and West Bank should be resettled in Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Saudi

Those countries were among the original arab muslim belligerents who declared war on Israel on its founding and are therefore responsible for the displaced ancestors of the arab muslims who now claim to be “palestinians”

Resettle them all and be done with it.
There can be no peace or any two-state solution, only removal.

Israel is stupid for not immediately hitting both areas with carpet bombing on October 8 and forced relocations of survivors on October 9.

Stupid for trying to get back the hostages. Should have sadly accepted their deaths and just gone hard to make sure Gaza and West Bank were cleared of Islam once and for all.

Israel should have known that a drawn-out conflict would only give the Muslim Brotherhood propaganda weapons more powerful than theirs.

I fear they lost their country by refusing to go hard early.

Israel may well cease to exist.

Russian Orthodox Church: the demolition of the chapel of the Desyatinny Monastery in Kyiv repeated the acts of Batu Khan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The Kyiv authorities repeated the acts of Batu Khan
…grandson of the great Mongol conqueror Genghis Khan, Batu Khan led that part of the Golden Horde charged with the conquest of the lands west of the Volga River, ie. Europe. If I understand correctly, they slaughtered armies and sacked cities all the way to the Adriatic Sea to the west, in Poland to the north, and over the Carpathian Mountains into Transylvania to the south before Batu was called back to help elect the successor of Ogedai Khan, breaking his momentum, after which he settled down to consolidate his rule …
by demolishing the Vladimir-Olginsky chapel of the Tithe Monastery of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Moscow Patriarchate. This was announced on May 17 by the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church for relations between the Church and society and the media.

The chapel was demolished on the night of May 17, 2024 in Kiev. Before its destruction, the facility was cordoned off by police and military personnel.

The Synodal Department indicated that after the demolition, believers come to the place where the temple stood to pray. It is noted that people will remember the persecution and destruction of the heritage of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in Ukraine.

“The memory of believers around the world will remain the memory of how, with the connivance of political forces patronizing the Ukrainian authorities and the silence of the human rights community, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, its spiritual and material heritage, are being destroyed with impunity, and its believers are being relegated to the category of people deprived of rights and voice.” says a statement published on the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The statement also emphasizes that those involved in the incident will be held accountable for their actions.

As reported by IA Regnum, the Church of the Tithes or the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was erected in 989–996. It was the first stone Orthodox church in Kievan Rus. Only the foundation remains of the monastery.

In 2007, a wooden Vladimir-Olginsky chapel was erected on the site of the temple. It was consecrated by Metropolitan Vladimir of Kyiv. In February 2018, the Kyiv prosecutor's office and the National Museum of History of Ukraine called the chapel an illegal development.

In 2021, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine obtained a court order for demolition. The parishioners appealed the court ruling, but on September 14, the appellate court ordered the dismantling of the Vladimir-Olginsky Chapel and the release of the site of the National Museum of History of Ukraine. Demolition was supposed to take place on May 7, but dismantling was postponed indefinitely due to technical reasons.

In April 2023, schismatics from the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) demolished a wooden church of the UOC in Lviv.

Learn to code is dead...
[Windows Central] I'm convinced NVIDIA's CEO was right about coding being dead in the water as a career option after watching OpenAI's GPT-4o coding demo

Besides privacy and security, job loss is a major concern for people with the prevalence of generative AI. With companies like Microsoft and OpenAI fully invested in the technology and making significant strides, it's unimaginable what AI will be able to do in just a few years.

Last year, Microsoft released its third annual Work Trend Index report which pointed out that 49% of the polled participants feared losing their jobs to AI. However, the vast majority of participants disclosed that they wanted to leverage the technology's capabilities to make work easier and save time.

This year's report focused on the State of AI at work, and interestingly, top company executives expressed their fears of there not being enough talent to fill open positions within their organizations. However, recruiters are prioritizing job applicants with an AI aptitude for vacant positions across cybersecurity, engineering, and creative design. Consequently, Microsoft reports there's been "a 142x increase in LinkedIn members adding AI skills like Copilot and ChatGPT to their profiles."

OpenAI just unveiled its new flagship GPT-4o model that can reason across audio, vision, and text in real-time, making interactions with ChatGPT more intuitive. And while it's still in the early release stages, the model is quite impressive going by the demos flooding the internet since its release. Definitely, faster and smarter than the "mildly embarrassing at best" GPT-4 model.

While watching OpenAI's Spring update event on Monday, one thing caught my attention — how insanely good GPT-4o is at coding. It's not only good but also fast and accurate based on short and precise prompts. Additionally, it's likely to get better in terms of performance via future updates coupled with new features.
Yes, there will always be a need for very accomplished programmers. Entry level, retrained from other fields? Not so much.
The problem is that there is no way to become accomplished without starting at the bottom and working your way up.

#8  Tell me when it starts creating its own language.

"AI has been known to develop its own language in various experiments and research studies. For instance, Facebook’s AI Research Lab (FAIR) created chatbots that developed their own language, which was not intelligible to humans. Similarly, Google’s Translate tool created its own language, which it would translate things into and then out of. These developments have raised concerns about the potential for AI to create its own language and potentially bypass human understanding.

In some cases, AI systems have been designed to develop their own language as a means of improving communication between agents. For example, researchers have used AI to create a language for negotiating between agents, which can lead to the evolution of a new language. This phenomenon has been compared to cryptophasia, where twins develop a language that only they can understand.

However, there are also concerns about the potential risks and implications of AI developing its own language. For instance, if AI systems develop a language that is unintelligible to humans, it could potentially lead to a breakdown in communication and understanding between humans and machines. Additionally, the development of a new language could also raise questions about the ownership and control of language, as well as the potential for AI to manipulate or deceive humans through its language."

Actually, this sort of thing has been happening ever since the Industrial Revolution. Some new machine is always being invented that threatens to throw millions of workers out of work. Hezbollah retaliates to Najjarieh strikes with rocket barrage
[An Nahar] Hezbollah targeted Friday a logistic military base in the occupied Golan heights with 50 Katyusha rockets, in response to al-Najjariyeh strikes.

The group said in a statement it has attacked the Tznobar base in response to the killing of two civilians in a strike on al-Najjarieh, near the coastal city of Sidon.

Hezbollah later targeted al-Raheb post in northern Israel in support of Gazoo

The Israeli air strikes on al-Najjariyeh killed one Hezbollah fighter and two Syrian children.

Hezbollah earlier on Friday launched "attack drones" on a command center in Ga'aton, in response to an Israeli strike on a car in Qana on Thursday that killed two Hezbollah members.

Earlier this week Hezbollah said it had targeted an Israeli base near Tiberias, about 30 kilometres from the Lebanese border -- one of the group's deepest attacks into Israeli territory since festivities began on October 8.

Israel says 14 soldiers and 10 civilians have been killed on its side of the border.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Human rights activists named the number of abducted people in Chechnya
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUel] At least 80 residents of Chechnya were kidnapped after a car with a DUSTUM license plate was set on fire; volunteers managed to establish the names of a number of them. In the village of Starye Atagi, Urus-Martan district, about 50 members of the family of Sayf-Islam Elmurzaev, who is suspected of setting fire to a car, were kidnapped, and about 30 people were kidnapped in the Shalinsky district, the Memorial Human Rights Center reported*. As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in Grozny an unknown person set fire to a car with a DUSTUM license plate and the inscription K13 on the door. A resident of the Chechen capital was detained on suspicion of arson; he surrendered himself after the abduction of his family, the opposition Chechen telegram channel reported. Analysts interviewed by the Caucasian Knot supported the opinion that the car is connected with the son of the head of Chechnya, Adam Kadyrov. They believe that the recent mass abductions in the Shali region are related to the arson of a car.

A telegram channel opposed to the authorities of Chechnya reported on May 7 about raids in the Olimpiysky residential area, where a car was set on fire, and searches and checks of residents of the complex. The telegram channel also reported on mass detentions of people in the Shalinsky district; as of May 7, about 30 people were detained. The Telegram channel lists the names of some of them.

Volunteers from the Human Rights Protection Center "Memorial"* interviewed local residents. Sources confirmed that between May 6 and May 14, security forces in Chechnya abducted from 80 to 90 people; only some of them were identified, the Human Rights Protection Center reported today person "Memorial"*.

At least six people were kidnapped in the village of Goyskoye, Urus-Martan district. One of them is Arbi Borchashvili. Previously, he was forcibly sent to a war zone in Ukraine, he was wounded and returned home in 2023.

In Gudermes, security forces kidnapped Abubakar Tsakaev, and in the Ippodromny microdistrict of Grozny, Dzhabrail Dauthadzhiev, who, according to the mentioned telegram channel, wore the same jacket as the car arsonist.

On May 9, security forces kidnapped about 50 members of the Elmurzaev family from the village of Starye Atagi, Urus-Martan district. Among those abducted are elderly people and women, including the pregnant sister of Sayf-Islam Elmurzaev - he, according to our sources, is considered the main suspect in the arson. It is reported that at first, Saif-Islam’s relatives were taken as hostages, but the kidnappings continued after his “detention.” Elmurzaev’s mother was in Ukraine under a civilian work contract. She was also returned home and detained.

Members of the Elmurzaev family from the village of Starye Atagi, who were abducted and held for more than a week, have been released. They are under house arrest, another telegram channel opposition to the Chechen authorities reported today.

According to information received by volunteers of the Memorial Center, in the city of Shali, security forces kidnapped more than 30 people. The Telegram channel in opposition to the authorities of Chechnya reported that 37 people were kidnapped in Shali. All those abducted, according to human rights activists, were taken to Grozny to the security department .

On May 13, information was received that those abducted from Shali, with the exception of four, were transferred to the police department in the Shali district. Yusuf Akhmadov, Umar Aliyev, Ruslan Ebishev and Abdusalam (surname unknown) were left in Grozny. It also became known that the security forces took a hunting shotgun from the house of one of them, sawed off the barrel and butt of this gun and charged the stolen person with possession and manufacture of firearms, according to a message on the center’s website.

On May 11, another resident of Shali, Dzhabrail Javatkhanov, was kidnapped. Relatives are being demanded to return home their brother Dzhabrail, who is in one of the European countries.

Human rights activists noted that they could not confirm that the death of a young man, whose body was found on May 7 in the Shali district, was connected with the car arson. There is also no confirmation of the connection between the arson and the abduction on May 5 in Grozny of two young people - natives of the city of Shali and the village of Agishty, Vedeno district. The two abductions are likely unrelated to the car arson and occurred before the video was released, the report said.

In Chechnya, the call sign “Dostum” and the number “K13” are secretly reserved for people related to Adam Kadyrov, an employee of the “Memorial” Center for the Protection of Human Rights confirmed information to the “ Caucasian Knot ” correspondent on May 14 in a telegram channel.

There is indirect confirmation of the connection between cars with DUSTUM license plates and Adam Kadyrov. For example, on April 28, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, published information about the open tactical shooting competition “Our People,” which took place at the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes. Second place in the competition was taken by the “Dostum” squad of the head of the security department of the head of the Chechen Republic, Adam Kadyrov, said the head of the republic.

In February 2023, a video with Adam Kadyrov was published in the telegram channel “Adviser KRA”. On his jacket on the right there is a patch with the inscription DUSTUM Adam Kadyrov wore a cap with a DUSTUM badge when he demonstrated his shooting skills to a delegation from Guinea-Bissau, a video about which was published by Ramzan Kadyrov on May 10.

The "Caucasian Knot" wrote that on September 25, 2023,  Ramzan Kadyrov  published a video recording of his son Adam beating Nikita Zhuravel in a pre-trial detention center. The head of Chechnya praised his son for this act. After this, Adam Kadyrov received the title of Hero of Chechnya and the highest state awards of Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria, and  in total at least nine  state and public awards.

In November 2023, the 18-year-old son of the head of Chechnya, Akhmat Kadyrov, was appointed Deputy Minister for Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the republic. A position of this level  cannot be held by  a person without completed higher education; this restriction is established by republican law, lawyers interviewed by the Caucasian Knot indicated.

In February 2024, Akhmat Kadyrov was appointed Minister of Youth Affairs of Chechnya. He was also awarded the highest award of the republic. And on April 28, Kadyrov announced the appointment of Adam  as curator of the Russian Special Forces University . According to him, this was done at the request of the head of the university, Baibetar Vaikhanov.

On November 5, 2023, it became known that Adam Kadyrov, shortly before his 16th birthday, was appointed head of the security department of the head of the republic. This appointment does not correlate well with labor legislation for teenagers and only emphasizes the hereditary principle of the formation of power in the republic, lawyers, security officials and human rights activists pointed out. For Adam Kadyrov, this is a test of his ability to lead Chechnya after his father, they suggested.

Ramzan Kadyrov  is building a management system in Chechnya  based on family and personal ties, and strives to demonstrate the success of his children in their careers, and the new appointment of his daughter Khadizhat was no exception, noted analysts interviewed by the Caucasian Knot.

Years of leadership of Chechnya allowed Ramzan Kadyrov to build a total family cult. Leadership positions, key positions, awards and names in honor of relatives - all this confirms the course towards the “Akhmatization” of Chechnya. How Kadyrov makes himself and his relatives idols is described in the “Caucasian Knot” reference “ In the name of father and son: how the cult of the Kadyrovs is being implanted in Chechnya.

#1  "How many J6 protestors were arrested

According to the provided search results, more than 1,000 people have been arrested in connection with the January 6 United States Capitol attack."

"How many J6 citizens remain in jail?

According to the search results, there are various numbers mentioned regarding the number of J6 citizens remaining in jail. Here’s a summary:

Less than 40 remain behind bars (from the article “Are there hundreds of Capitol Riot defendants still in jail?”)
78 remain jailed pending trial (from the article “What to know about Capitol riot defendants and the Justice for J6 rally”)
Around six dozen defendants who have been charged in Jan. 6 cases remain jailed awaiting trial (from the article “Jan. 6 defendants have been charged with crimes”)
Three were already in jail on unrelated charges, and one presented some combination of problems that led judges to conclude there were no release conditions that would be enough to protect the community or ensure a defendant would show up to court again (from the article ‘“Justice For J6” Says They’re Rallying For Nonviolent Offenders. Most Alleged Capitol Rioters In Jail Are Charged With Violent Crimes.’)
It’s difficult to provide an exact number, as the numbers vary across the search results. However, based on the available information, it appears that around 100-120 J6 citizens remain in jail, with some possibly already having been released or having their charges dropped."

Arab League calls for peacekeepers in 'occupied Palestinian territories'
[GEO.TV] The Arab League

It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The meeting of Arab heads of state and government convened in Bahrain more than seven months into the conflict in Gaza that has convulsed the wider region.

The "Manama Declaration" issued by the 22-member bloc called for "international protection and peacekeeping forces of the United Nations in the occupied Paleostinian territories" until a two-state solution is implemented.

The declaration also called on "all Paleostinian factions to join under the umbrella of the Paleostine Liberation Organization," which is dominated by Hamas' political rivals, the ruling Fatah movement.

The Arab League added that it considered the PLO "the sole legitimate representative of the Paleostinian people".

#2  The subject of of "Arab Peacekeepers" (an oxymoron) was addressed in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973.
In 1973 it took Soviet Union & USA working together to save Egypt from a defeat that would destroy them as a country.
Things are a lot different now: the imbalance between Israel and Arabs - using borrowed tech they don't really understand - is much greater.
Also, Israel no longer has any illusions about it's Great Ally & post-civilized West in general.

#4  In 1948 the surrounding arsb muslim countries declared war on israel the second the british administrators left

It is their fault that their fellow arab muslims were displaced, because the Arab League told them to flee the war and after they defeat Israel and push the Jews into the sea and they could all return to an Islamic state.

That is the history.

There were less than a million displaced arab muslims, from that original war started bt the Arab Muslim states.

They lost.

There are now about 5 million? Several million Arab Muslim descendants now claiming a new ethnicity “palestinian” using the pan-arab flag from the Arab Revolt and Syrian Ba’ath party.

They are the arab muslims of gaza who voted in hamas and support hamas in the west bank.

They do ths brcause hamas is muslim brotherhood.

They know that if they “free palestine” theywill demographically swamp the small Jewish democracy woth arab muslims and it will cease to exist as a jewish state.

This is the goal.

That is why the arab muslims of Gaza and west bank need to be resettled once and for all in Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Saudi who were the main belligerents in the original 1948 war.

Then they can get on with their lives peacefully among their brothers and sisters.

The only reason these countries do not willingly take them is because they are using them as a weapon against israel hoping to destroy it as they failed to do in 1948.

This is a religious imperative. It is not about land, it is about ensuring that Islam rules over the Jews, since Islam once held that territory.

But these countries simply must be made to take the, because no teo-state solution is possible.

Peace is not now and never will be possible unless the Arab Muslims of Gaza and West Bank are all resettled with their brothers and sisters in those neighbouring lands, where they share a culture, arabic language, and sunni Islam.

Also Qatar should be made to take some as it is Muslim Brotherhood HQ and hosts the hamas leadership.

So Hamas, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Saudi should all be made to resettle the refugees of Gaza and also move there the Arab Muslims of West Bank.

Otherwise long-term Israel cannot defend that tiny sliver of land they are on. Muslim Brotherhood will get drones and they wont be able to defend it.

It is too small. So i fear Israel will not survive at all long-term, and I think they should have gone hard the day after that October 7 attack.

i think that not to do so was a strategic error for Israel, since Muslim Brotherhood propaganda is so well-integrated now into Western Media. Israel had only a small window to act before the Muslim Brotherhood diaspora was able to kick in to the western countries and destroy support.

Within a week, the Russian Armed Forces liberated 12 settlements in the Kharkov region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Over the course of a week, Russian military groups of troops “North” liberated 12 settlements from the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov region, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, said at a briefing on May 17.

“During the week, units of the North group of forces, as a result of active actions, liberated 12 settlements in the Kharkov region,” he said.

The villages of Borisovka, Bugrovatka, Gatishche, Krasnoe, Lukyantsy, Morokhovets, Ogurtsovo, Oleynikovo, Pylnaya, Strelechya and the villages of Glubokoe and Pletenevka were liberated from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian military continues to advance deeper into the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As Regnum reported, on May 17, the head of the military-civil administration of the Kharkov region, Vitaly Ganchev, said that Russian troops had liberated more than 200 square meters. km of territory in the north of the region. The Russian Armed Forces are conducting clean-up operations in the city of Volchansk, he said, adding that Russian troops are advancing quickly, which is why panic has grown in the Ukrainian army and desertions have become more frequent.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted on May 17, he said that the Kiev authorities are to blame for the offensive of Russian troops near Kharkov. The operation in this direction is the creation of a sanitary zone, which is necessary because the Ukrainian Armed Forces are shelling the Belgorod region. As Putin stated, the Russian Armed Forces today have no plans to capture Kharkov.

Medvedev: supplies of new missiles to Kyiv can expand the sanitary zone to Poland

The West, by supplying the Kiev regime with increasingly long-range missiles, may force Russia to establish a sanitary zone in Ukraine of such a size that it will reach Poland or further, said Deputy Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev on May 17 in the Telegram channel.

He recalled the repeated warnings of Russian President Vladimir Putin that in order to ensure the security of Russian cities in Ukraine, a buffer zone will have to be created, the width of which will depend on the weapons transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Medvedev noted that Kyiv received Storm Shadow/SCALP-EG missiles with a range of at least 550 km. Moreover, the distance from Belgorod to Kyiv is 429 km.

“In other words, Russia should be everywhere there (550 km plus another 70–100 km to be sure) <...>, if this goes on, the guaranteed sanitary zone will be somewhere on the border with Poland. Or already in Poland itself,” wrote the deputy chairman of the Security Council.

Medvedev emphasized that this would be a very dangerous situation, since the concept of “non-strategic nuclear weapons” is quite loose. Such weapons involve charges whose power significantly exceeds the power of the nuclear bombs dropped by the United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he added.

As Regnum reported, Putin said on May 17 that the shelling of Russian territories by the Ukrainian army is forcing Russia to take control of the regions of the Kharkov region. He emphasized that the Kiev regime is to blame for this. The president also said that there are no plans to take control of Kharkov yet.

On the evening of May 17, the Ukrainian Armed Forces once again attempted a terrorist attack on Russian regions. Russian air defense systems shot down a Tochka-U missile over the Belgorod region. In addition, Ukrainian militants attacked the village of Novaya Naumovka in the Belgorod region, where one person was killed and another was injured.

Israel strikes on Lebanon killing three
[GEO.TV] Israeli air strikes on Friday hit an area of southern Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
far from the border, Lebanese official media said, with a source close to Hezbollah reporting three dead including two Syrian nationals.

Lebanon's state-run National News Agency said "Israeli strikes targeted Najjariyeh and Addousiyeh", two adjacent villages about 30 kilometres (19 miles) from the Israeli border just south of the coastal city of Sidon.

The NNA reported "victims" without elaborating.

A source close to Hezbollah told AFP that three people were killed in Najjariyeh -- two Syrians and a Lebanese man.

Hezbollah said the attack was carried out with an "attack drone carrying two S5 rockets", which are normally launched from jets.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Nation Building's Last Stand in Gaza
[FrontPage] Rafah isn’t just the last stand for Hamas, but for an entire foreign policy establishment.

The desperate effort to keep Israeli soldiers from going into the last Gaza stronghold of the Islamic terrorist organization is about more than the sum of the geopolitical parts. After nation building failed in Afghanistan and Iraq, and everywhere else it’s been tried, the radioactive ’Palestinian’ nation building experiment from over 30 years ago is its last hope.

Long before George W. Bush tackled nation building after 9/11, his father began the era of turning Muslim terrorist groups into countries with the project to give the PLO a state. Where the first Bush failed, Bill Clinton succeeded with the Oslo accords and a Nobel prize for Arafat.
“Succeeded”, anyway. He got the accords signed, and then Arafat promptly ignored the responsibilities he signed off on, while happily skimming billions off the top of the international and Israeli donations.
The PLO state failed long before Iran took over Iraq and the Taliban took over Afghanistan. There had never been anything peaceful, democratic or aspirational about Arafat and the PLO. By the time that Hamas had captured Gaza after winning democratic elections, it had long been clear to everyone outside of D.C. that rather than ending terrorism, statehood had incarnated it.

Any ’Palestinian’ state was doomed to be a terrorist state. The only question is who would run it. And the answer was that the biggest and deadliest terrorists would command popular support.

When Iraq and Afghanistan went bad, America could just leave, Israelis did not have that luxury. Sharon forcibly expelled the Jews living in Gaza to the other side of a border wall, but despite all the sob stories that the terrorists were living in an "open air concentration camp" with five-star hotels and mansions, walls weren’t that hard to get through even before Oct 7.

Israel has been stuck living next door to a failed thirty year nation-building experiment gone bad. And everyone in the international community is worried that the Oct 7 war will see it taken apart.

Lately the nation building experts have taken to warning that Israel is doing it the wrong way. Former CIA Director David Petraeus who also oversaw American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been arguing that Israel needs to pivot to a "counterinsurgency" model. And then we’re back to "winning hearts and minds" instead of actually trying to win a war.

The Biden administration has never stopped insisting that Israel needs a "day after" plan for rebuilding Gaza under a PLO government and some "moderate" terrorists from Hamas. Three generations after it became the norm, fighting a war without nation building as an endgame is so impossible that warfare experts can’t even understand what they’re seeing in Israel.

But among all the other problems with nation building is that it doesn’t work. And the Israelis who have been living next to the original chernobyl of nation building know it better than anyone.

Nation building has failed in every single Muslim country it’s been tried, not just by the United States after 9/11, but by the British between WWI and WWII. The entire Middle East is one long great nation building disaster shaped by primeval nation building experiments such as the Sykes-Picot agreement, the Hashemite monarchies and finally the recession of colonialism.

But it’s not just Muslim countries where nation building has backfired in familiar patterns.

D.C. elites can look to Haiti where decades of interference led to one disaster after another. The armed gangs overrunning the island nation started life as police forces. Democracy initiatives just worsened tensions and led to murderous outbreaks of political violence.

The same situation abounds across much of Africa, and parts of Latin America and Asia, where no amount of nation building could overcome tribalism, gang violence and political extremists.

Our nation building fails even worse than the British variety because it follows the American model of trying to overcome tribalism, assuming that democracy will empower individuals instead of blocs, and that having elected officials control institutions will lead to good government when in reality the majority seizes power and then viciously suppresses minorities.

American foreign policy believes that no people or group are good or bad, they just lack sufficient representation or the ability to participate in democratic elections. And that any governments that suppress any group, no matter how evil, are inherently illegitimate.
Any group but anyone who opposes the Left's most recent craze.
...Our "day after" plans for Afghanistan and Iraq cost us a generation of fighting men for nothing. Even the ’Surge’, the last stand of the counterinsurgency model, did nothing to stop Iraq from falling into the hands of Iran which is now using it to launch attacks on American bases.

"Truly winning this war would require creating some sort of government in Gaza that could gain the support of the people and prevent Hamas from returning after Israeli soldiers pull out," ex-neocon Max Boot argues in his Washington Post column.

But what if killing Jews is what the ’people’ in Gaza really want? Just as what the Shiites in Iraq really wanted was to step on the Sunnis and the Kurds, what the Sunnis in Iraq really wanted was to kill the Shiites and rape the Yazidis, and what the Kurds wanted was their own country. And just as a whole lot of Afghans really wanted to lock up women and mandate beards again.

Nation building’s faulty premise is that people everywhere want what Americans want.
Or used to. Nowadays???

East Palestine resident says whistleblower is 'tip of the iceberg' for disaster response 'cover-up'
[FoxBusinessNews] EPA disputing whistleblower’s claims that mistakes were made in train derailment response

East Palestine, Ohio, residents are expressing frustration after learning that the emergency response to the toxic train derailment last year was riddled with mistakes.

"We're just hanging in there. It's all we can do," East Palestine local Linda Murphy said on "The Bottom Line" Thursday.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is disputing whistleblower claims of mistakes and "no confidence" in early data collected from the site where a Norfolk-Southern train hauling caustic materials derailed along the Pennsylvania-Ohio border.

A person who said he helped craft the technology and interpret data from advanced radiological sensors on a high-tech EPA plane used to survey the damage and take hazmat readings told The Associated Press the aircraft was enlisted too late. In turn, the whistleblower told the outlet, it may have been unnecessary to burn off toxic vinyl chloride from five rail cars in a controlled release.

"My understanding is [the plane] was supposed to be here and collect hundreds of hours worth of data, and it didn't do that. It didn't collect the data where it was supposed to, when it was supposed to. The whole thing was a fail," Murphy said. "I think that this has been a cover-up."

In a lengthy response to a Fox News Digital inquiry, the EPA pushed back on the allegations, saying whistleblower characterizations of the plane's response are "false," adding weather conditions prevented the plane from promptly surveying the location.

"That sort of information that they're giving people, it's very disheartening," Murphy responded. "I'm so elated that he has come forward. And hopefully this is the tip of the iceberg and we're going to start getting some truth, because we certainly haven't been getting it up until this point."

Since the disaster, the agency said it has collected 28,000 air samples and that, in the time since residents were allowed back to their homes, there have not been "sustained chemicals of concern found in the air." The agency added it will continue to honor public records requests and be transparent in its response to the tragedy.

Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine's office said that when it comes to whistleblowers, anyone with time-sensitive and pertinent information has been asked repeatedly to come forward, including in the immediate aftermath of the Norfolk-Southern spill.

However, East Palestine residents remain skeptical of the EPA’s defense and worried over potential health impacts from the controlled burn.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
There is no goal to take Kharkov yet
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited,

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] Regarding questions regarding Kharkov.

1. Even before the start of the offensive, I said (readers will not let me lie) that the current grouping of the Russian Armed Forces in the Belgorod region is not sufficient to capture Kharkov. Solving the tasks of liberating Kharkov requires at least two serious operations to capture Zolochev and the Zolochevsky fortified area and liberate Chuguev. A frontal assault on Kharkov from the north seems like a dead-end idea.

2. The RF Armed Forces are now solving the problem of occupying part of the areas in the north of the Kharkov region, which will allow at least the liberation of several dozen settlements, inflicting serious losses on the enemy and reducing the intensity of enemy attacks on the Belgorod region. The further the troops advance and extend the range of artillery and drones to the south, the better.

3. At the same time, if the Ukrainian Armed Forces are unable to hold their positions in the north of the region and allow frontal breakthroughs, the scale of the operation may expand to more ambitious scenarios, such as encircling part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces forces in the Kharkov region, which is what Syrsky fears.

4. At the same time, it is important to understand that if now there are no intentions to storm or completely encircle Kharkov, this does not mean that they will not appear a little later, when the size of the group in the Kharkov direction can be increased depending on the plans of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

5. It is important to understand that the General Staff now poses a dilemma for the enemy - where the main blow will be delivered. The enemy is now torn between the need to defend Chasov Yar, hold the cracking front in the Ocheretino area and reinforce the front north of Kharkov. But there are other sectors of the front where crisis trends are also observed. If the Russian command is able to take away the remnants of reserves in crisis areas and find a weakness in the enemy’s formation, then the consequences for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be catastrophic, which is what the Americans are actually warning about. And there it won’t be so important - they will break through in the Kharkov region, somewhere in the Donbass or in Zaporozhye. Let me remind you that the enemy believes that the main spring-summer offensive of the Russian Armed Forces has not yet begun.

6. Well, yes. "War is the path of deception." During the war, no one from the military-political leadership is obliged to tell the truth about the real goals of certain operations. No one has canceled the elements of disinformation. In the case of Putin, the simplest example is the denial of the presence of Russian troops in Crimea and the subsequent admission that they were there after the successful completion of the Crimean operation.

Russia has no plans to take Kharkov yet, Putin said

President Vladimir Putin, at a press conference following his visit to China, said that Russia currently has no plans to capture Kharkov.

“As for Kharkov, there are no such plans today,” said the head of state.

As the president emphasized, the blame for the operation in the Kharkov direction lies with the Kiev regime, and the actions of the Russian military are a response to the shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. It is connected with the need to create a sanitary zone, he added.

According to the president, the Russian military is making progress in this area every day.

As Regnum reported, Putin, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, arrived in Beijing on a two-day state visit. The leaders took part in the opening ceremony of the Years of Culture of Russia and China, held in 2024 and 2025, and a concert to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. A conversation between Putin and Xi Jinping took place at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Then Russian-Chinese consultations continued in an expanded format. An exchange of views took place on current international and regional issues. The leaders discussed the Ukrainian issue in great detail.

The official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, reported on May 16 that units of the Russian group of troops “North”, as a result of active actions, advanced into the depths of the defense of the Ukrainian army in the Kharkov region.

In this direction, the Russian military liberated Borisovka, Ogurtsovo, Pletnyovka, Pylnaya, Strelechya, Gatishche, Krasnoe, Morokhovets and Oleynikovo. The military also improved the tactical situation in the area of Volchansk, Neskuchny, Liptsov and Vesely.

ese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State.

Local sources reported at least two drones targeted the Kosti port, located approximately 270 kilometres south of Khartoum. Eyewitnesses described hearing explosions and seeing thick smoke rise from the site. One police officer was injured in the incident.

Neither local authorities in White Nile State nor the warring parties have provided any official statements regarding the drone attack. However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
this incident marks a continuation of a trend observed over the past month and a half, where cities under army control have been targeted by unidentified drones. Notably, similar attacks have occurred in Atbara, Gedaref, Shendi, Merowe, and Dongola.

Meanwhile,
...back at the revival hall, the congregants were being herded into the paddy wagon...
in El Fasher, artillery shelling resumed on Friday, with the RSF heavily bombarding southern neighbourhoods. Intermittent festivities also erupted between the army, allied armed struggle movements, and the RSF east of the city.

The ongoing fighting in El Fasher has tragically resulted in the deaths of over 50 civilians in the past week. Grave concerns are rising for the hundreds of thousands of displaced people who sought refuge in the city, fleeing violence elsewhere in the Darfur region.

RSF control cripples harvest in Sudan's Al-Jazirah Scheme
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Farmers in Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s vast al-Jazirah Scheme reported a near-total failure of the cotton and wheat harvests due to the ongoing conflict and control of the area by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The exception lies in the Managil and 24 Qarshi areas, still under army control in western al-Jazirah. Here, harvests proceeded as usual.

Alaa El Din al-Bilawi, a farmer in South al-Jazirah, explained that the cotton harvest failed because ginning factories, crucial for processing cotton, are closed. This leaves the crop vulnerable to damage in the fields.

Cotton and wheat are critical crops for both export and domestic consumption in Sudan. The failure of these harvests is a significant blow to the nation’s economy and food security.

The situation is particularly dire in the south, where 55,000 acres were planted with cotton before the RSF took control of al-Jazirah last December. Since then, the RSF has expanded its influence heavily, reaching the borders of neighbouring Sennar State.

Biden Fundraises Off Lawfare Circus After Taunting Trump For Being Stuck In Court
[THEFEDERALIST] President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences...
taunted former President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
on Wednesday for being confined to a Manhattan courtroom while fighting a lawfare campaign being led, in part, by a former Biden Department of Justice official. But the incumbent took his indifference to the weaponization of law a step further: he is now fundraising off the lawfare circus.

Biden released a 14-second clip on Wednesday in which he finally agreed to debate Trump — after dodging the possibility for months. Biden closed out his highly-edited video by mocking Trump’s limited availability to — simply put — be a presidential candidate.

"So let’s pick the dates, Donald," Biden said. "I hear you’re free on Wednesdays."

Biden’s campaign doubled down by releasing a $32 T-shirt that says "Free On Wednesdays."

Biden’s mocking remarks are a reference to the Democrat campaign strategy of weaponizing lawfare against Trump, as Biden trails in the polls. As Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
hold out hope the lawfare circus will boost Biden’s popularity, they’ve expressed shock that Trump is "still ahead of Biden in recent polls" and wondered why the lawfare campaigns are "not hurting" Trump. A newly released New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

/Siena College poll finds despite Democrats’ best efforts, Trump leads Biden overall in five key swing states among registered and likely voters.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
A third expedition to search for those killed at Khalkhin Gol in 1939 has launched in Mongolia.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The third international search expedition “Khalkin Gol. The greater our glory”, organized by the Foundation for the Preservation of Cultural and Historical Heritage “Connection of Times and Generations” and the 1st mechanized search detachment “Avangard”, started in Mongolia. The expedition group is represented by searchers and scientists from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, the press service reported.

The active phase of the battles of the Red Army and Mongolian troops against the Japanese armed forces at Khalkhin Gol began 85 years ago - in May 1939. The local conflict ended on September 15, 1939, when Japan, admitting its defeat, agreed to a truce with the USSR.

“This victory was one of the main reasons for Japan’s refusal to attack the USSR after June 22, 1941. 85 years have passed, but not all the facts have been studied, not all names have been restored. And this work is extremely important for us, search engines,” said Elena Tsunaeva, executive secretary of the Russian Search Movement.

The Russian search group included students from the Financial University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), as well as from Transbaikal and Mongolian State Universities. The tasks of the expedition, in addition to searching for the dead, include a description of the unrecorded burials of Soviet soldiers and the restoration of Soviet monuments and monuments installed in the area.

On the first day, searchers managed to find the remains of two soldiers, as well as elements of uniforms, personal belongings and fragments of Red Army weapons.

It is noted that during previous search expeditions, which took place in 2019 and 2023, extensive work was carried out to clarify the real picture of the fighting at Khalkhin Gol. Then search teams discovered the remains of 14 Red Army soldiers, two Mongolian soldiers, several unregistered burials and the wreckage of a Soviet SB-2 high-speed bomber.

As Regnum reported, on June 24 last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law renaming the day of military glory on September 3 from the Day of the End of World War II to the Day of Victory over Militarist Japan and the End of World War II. The law was adopted by the State Duma and approved by the Federation Council.

Anti-Israel protesters put fake corpses at University of Michigan official’s home
[IsraelTimes] Board member Sarah Hubbard says some 30 people demonstrated at her home, pitched tents; another board member says masked activist left list of demands at his home

Pro-Paleostinian, anti-Israel protesters wearing masks pitched tents and placed fake bloody corpses outside the home of a University of Michigan board member Wednesday, raising tension with the school.

Sarah Hubbard, chair of the university’s governing board, said the 6 a.m. demonstration at her home in Okemos involved 30 people.

"They approached my home and taped a letter to my front door and proceeded to erect the tents. A variety of other things were left in the front yard," Hubbard told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named. "They started chanting with their bullhorn and pounding on a drum in my otherwise quiet neighborhood."

Video on social media appeared to show the crowd chanting that Hubbard is "funding genocide."

She and her husband stayed inside. Okemos is 60 miles (100 kilometers) from the Ann Arbor campus.

The protesters left 30 to 45 minutes later when Meridian Township police arrived, Hubbard said. No arrests were made. Three tents and fake corpses wrapped in red-stained sheets were left behind.

Jordan Acker, another member of the Board of Regents, said someone with a face covering left a list of demands at his home at 4:40 a.m.

Protesters at the Ann Arbor campus have an encampment on the Diag, a prominent public space.

The group is demanding that the university’s endowment stop investing in companies with ties to Israel. But the university insists it has no direct investments and only less than $15 million placed with funds that might include companies in Israel. That’s less than 0.1% of the total endowment.

"There’s nothing to talk about. That issue is settled," Hubbard said.

In social media posts, a coalition calling for divestment acknowledged the protest and said it would "remain relentless in the struggle for a free Paleostine."

"Please stop complaining on Twitter and come to the encampment to actually negotiate," the group said, referring to Hubbard.

The university said the protest at her home was not free speech. "The tactics used today represent a significant and dangerous escalation," spokesperson Kim Broekhuizen said.

School officials have not disclosed any plans to break up the encampment on campus, which was created in April.

"We would prefer that they would leave on their own," Hubbard said.

I can see why a many news sources now avoid the term "Students".

Given a quick look at the Campus & City arrest record data & NEWS video coverage. What we generally know and/or is reported:
* about 6+ out of 10 protesters are NOT Students, and/or not locals.
* many even travel hours to reach the protest location.
* they present a consistent/progressively demanding uniform message.
* they have professionally/commercially made signage and banners.
* there are always 100's of suddenly available new matching PLO type facial coverings colors to be worn.
* plus, the presentation and agenda seen here in the US and across Europe is too uniform to be anything other than scripted by a central authority.

Which all now, given the presented evidence, begs the real question:

Whom, is funding these too well Mega $$$$$$$ funded & cloned protests?
Is it IRAN, Palestine, Hamas, China, Russia and/or the Democrat Party that has a strong Anti-Jewish element. An element moving (D) more towards National Socialism practices?

Or.
Is it us, the US Taxpayer, since O'Biden Regime has provided 100's of Millions of Taxpayers $$$$$$$ to the same donor sources over the last 3+ years?

Belgium cuts off ticket sales for soccer match against Israel over ‘security concerns’
[IsraelTimes] No details given for move affecting September UEFA Nations League game; Asian soccer federation backs Palestinian proposal to suspend Israel from FIFA over Gaza war.

Ticket sales for a Belgium-Israel soccer match in Brussels as part of the UEFA Nations League have been paused because of security concerns.

No details were available over what concerns led officials to stop selling tickets for the game, scheduled for September 6 at King Baudouin Stadium.

"The Royal Belgian Football Union is in constant contact with the security services, the city of Brussels and the federal government," the Belgian soccer body said in a statement on Thursday. "The security situation is being analyzed and developments are being closely monitored."

"Safety comes first, always," Belgian soccer chief Piet Vandendriessche said.

Ticket sales for other Belgium home matches against La Belle France on October 14 and Italia on November 14 are going ahead as planned.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Safieddine warns Israel 'Hezbollah ready to use new weapons'
Will they be as effective as the recent salvo from Iran, an embarrassing percent of which did not make it past Iran’s borders?
[An Nahar] Head of Hezbollah's executive council, Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, warned Israel on Friday that Hezbollah is ready to use new weapons in the battlefield.

Hezbollah has regularly fired missiles across the border with Israel over the past seven months, but has on Thursday launched its first successful missile Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
from within Israeli airspace, using a drone that fired two missiles. The attack maimed three soldiers, one of them seriously, according to the Israeli military.

The group has stepped up its attacks on Israel in recent weeks, particularly since the Israeli incursion into the southern city of Rafah in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. Strip. It has struck deeper inside Israel and introduced new and more advanced weaponry.

"The resistance on the southern border has proven that it has many options in the battlefield," Safieddine said.

Also this week, Hezbollah launched three anti-tank guided missiles at an Israeli military post that controlled a surveillance balloon flying over the border. They released camera footage afterward to show they had hit their mark. Hours later, the Israeli military confirmed that the spy balloon had been shot down over Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel.
"We have multiple options that are guaranteed to succeed and to exhaust the enemy," Safieddine said. "If the enemy wants to continue the fight, we are ready to use new weapons," he added.

Hezbollah's use of more advanced weaponry, including drones capable of firing missiles, explosive drones and the small type of guided missile known as Almas, or Diamond, that was used to attack the base controlling the balloon has raised alarms within the Israeli military.

"This is a time of major changes," Safieddine said. "What is happening in Gaza, on the (southern) border, and in the region undoubtedly carries great implications."

"It shows the fragility and apparent confusion of the Israeli enemy," he added.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Area C will never be part of Israel
Long. A taste:
[Jpost] The year 2023 will be remembered as the year that witnessed the collapse of two closely related pillars of Israel’s West Bank policy. Together, these policies constitute grave misconceptions that nevertheless have been proudly championed by Israel's ultra-nationalist right-wing government. The first policy pillar is the “divide and rule” strategy, whereby the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were intentionally separated to prevent the establishment of a future Palestinian state and to facilitate the sequestering of the West Bank and its ultimate annexation to Israel. This pillar crumbled to wrack and ruin on October 7th when it became abundantly clear that allowing Hamas to grow at the expense of the Palestinian Authority has grave consequences. The second pillar, the “battle over Area C,” sought to create spatial and demographic conditions permitting the annexation of an area that accounts for 60 percent of the West Bank. This pillar has been disintegrating gradually over several years.

The roots of these failed policies can be found in Israel's abdication of its legal commitments that were ratified in the Oslo Accords.
Given that both the Palestinian Authority/PLO/Fatah and Hamas abdicated their legal commitments from the beginning, it seems unfair and unrealistic to demand Israel stick to them.
In the declaration of principles, the State of Israel accepted the notion of unity of the West Bank and Gaza Strip: “The two sides view the West Bank and the Gaza Strip as a single territorial unit, whose integrity will be preserved during the interim period.” With regard to Area C, the agreement stated: “The Parties agree that the area of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, except for the issues that will be negotiated in the permanent status negotiations [Jerusalem, settlements, and military sites] will be gradually transferred to Palestinian jurisdiction, to be completed within 18 months from the inauguration of the Council.” It also stated that: “‘Area C’ means areas of the West Bank outside Areas A and B, which, except for the issues that will be negotiated in the permanent status negotiations, will be gradually transferred to Palestinian jurisdiction in accordance with this Agreement.” In simple terms – all the agreements signed by the State of Israel define the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as a single territorial unit. This principle has guided all negotiations conducted by the two sides. Area C, therefore, has been under an extremely extended temporary status pending its eventual transfer to Palestinian jurisdiction.

Regarding the first failure – the collapse of the “divide and rule” policy – the Palestinians are united in their insistence on a joint future for the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Yes, yes. But does that mean Hamas will rule or Fatah/PLO/Palestinian authority? I admit it’s a silly question, as it looks like Hamas is the more popular option in both territories, and the PA demonstrated their inability to hold Gaza in the teeth of Hamas armaments back in 2007.
Similarly, there is overwhelming consensus in the international community on the two-state solution as the only viable solution to the conflict.
So? The international community doesn’t have to worry about Palestinians rampaging over the border with pillage, plunder, rape, torture, and murder in their minds. So it is none of the international community’s business.
Israel has also accepted this principle in all negotiations with the Palestinians, and it is only the stalemate in diplomacy during the Netanyahu years that gave rise to the catastrophic divide and rule strategy. Because the territorial integrity issue is clear and undisputed, we focus on the second failure – the battle over Area C. Our research, conducted as part of the T-Politography project, a project dedicated to empirically monitoring changing levels of Israeli and Palestinian control in the territories in several different domains, examined the period from 2010 through the end of 2023. During these Netanyahu years (with a one-year Bennett-Lapid government), we found clear evidence that Israel is squandering its resources on a lost cause.

Motivated by the idea that it is possible to annex most of the West Bank without its Palestinian population, Israel devoted its full force and all the means at its disposal to shape the political future of Area C. This process included unprecedented budgetary allocations for the expansion of settlements; the establishment of additional government ministries as channels for the indirect transfer of funds; the encouragement and retroactive whitewashing of illegal outposts by the government; the construction of roads such as the Hawara and El-Arub bypasses, each of which cost over 200 million US Dollars; attempting to legislate the Regularization Bill – a bill that would allow the seizure of private Palestinian land; attempting to abolish the grounds of reasonableness clause (both legislation initiatives were canceled by the Israeli Supreme Court); and the absence of an immediate and forceful response to settler violence against the Palestinians. The process reached its peak in 2023 with the transfer of responsibility for the Civil Administration of the West Bank to ultra-nationalist Betzalel Smotrich as an additional minister in the Defense Ministry, which effectively turned him into the de-facto governor of the West Bank.

The Palestinian side did not remain impassive in the face of this Israeli campaign. The Palestinian struggle for Area C was implemented through the Fayyad Plan, a two-year plan formulated by former PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in 2009. The plan offered a roadmap for building Palestinian infrastructure and institutions to establish a de facto Palestinian state throughout the West Bank. The plan enjoyed international support and a budget of over half a billion euros from the EU.

#1  Globalist nonsense. The world is waking up from that stupid dream. All Israel has to do is to endure until we can deal with Arabs (all of them, not just "Palestinians") in the only way they understand.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
5 brigades from the hottest sectors of the front told Le Monde that NATO ammunition never reached them
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Le Monde interviewed 5 brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbass, where the fiercest fighting is taking place. They all confirmed that neither the ammunition according to the “Czech plan” (800,000 shells) nor the US aid package reached them.

“We read the news, but we are realistic. We rely only on what we really have. We don't have a shortage of small arms ammunition, but we do have a shortage of everything else: drones, anti-drone capabilities, shells, missiles... And we see supplies continue to decline and become increasingly unstable. They only cover the bare minimum,” said one of the military men.

The absence of UAVs and artillery fire support leads to losses, the Armed Forces of Ukraine say.

“We also lose a lot of equipment to enemy FPVs (drones); we absolutely need jammers. My battalion lost its last encoder 2 days ago."

Near Bakhmut, tank crews of the 28th Brigade feel a lack of shells and fuel. “We have only one anti-drone jammer for the entire company, consisting of 10 T-64 tanks. Every pair of tanks needs at least one silencer,” adds another fighter.
