2022 Great Peanut Butter RECALL widens
[MSN] More products made with Jif pulled from shelves

More products are being pulled from store shelves around the country on the heels of a massive Jif peanut butter recall over salmonella concerns.

Since the J.M. Smucker Company issued the initial recall for 49 different Jif peanut butter products on May 20, at least 16 companies have issued their own recalls for products that were made with Jif, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The Jif sales and marketing team have been busy since P&G sold them to Smucker two decades ago.
Giant Eagle issued a recall of multiple bakery items containing peanut butter sold at three Pennsylvania supermarkets in Ebensburg, Indiana and Northern Cambria.

Albanese has recalled Rich's Mini Peanut Butter Cups and Rich's Giant Layered Peanut Butter Cups. The products were sold at stores nationwide.

Safeway Fresh Foods issued a recall of Quick Chek branded Apple and Peanut Butter Snack trays sold at Quick Chek stores in New Jersey.

A G Specialty Foods has recalled snack packs, snack boxes and pre-made sandwiches sold under multiple brand names due to a potential salmonella contamination. The products were distributed to retailers and foodservice companies in Oregon and Washington.

Bix Produce Company recalled its 5 ounce packages of "Egg and Cheese Curds Power Box" and "Egg and Cheese Curds snack box" sold regionally in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota.

Euphoria Chocolate Company issued a recall for its Peanut Butter Classic Truffles, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Meltaways, and Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Meltaways. They were sold from Euphoria Chocolate store's display case in Eugene, Oregon, and distributed to retailers and supermarkets across the state.

Fresh Del Monte has recalled fresh-cut fruit and vegetable products containing ready-to-eat Jif peanut butter cups. The products were sold nationwide under brand names Del Monte, 7-Eleven, Circle-K, and Get Go.

Fudgeamentals has issued a recall for fudge sold at stores nationwide under the Fudgeamentals and Walmart brand names. The recall includes eight products packaged in 8 oz. plastic containers and 16 oz. plastic trays.

Country Fresh recalled fresh-cut fruit snack trays and fruit snack cups sold at stores in 19 different states. The products are in a clear, square, or round plastic package with brand name Snack Fresh, Snack Sensations, Giant, Wegmans or Market32.

Taher has recalled packages of "Fresh Seasons Power Packs" distributed in retail stores and vending machines in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Garden Cut has recalled Apple Wedges and Celery Bites with Peanut Butter distributed to seven states: Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Mary's Harvest Fresh Foods recalled its Celery and Apple Peanut Butter Cups distributed in Oregon and Washington to retailers and supermarkets.

Coblentz Chocolate Company issued a recall for multiple products containing peanut butter that were through the company's retail store in Walnut Creek, Ohio and other retail locations.

Albertsons recalled 11 store-prepared items vailable for purchase at the following banners: Albertsons, Safeway, Lucky, Haggen, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Tom Thumb, United, Amigos, Market Street, Albertsons Market, Andronico's Community Markets, Vons, Pak 'N Save, Shaw's, Star Market, Randalls, Vons, Jewel-Osco, ACME, King's and Balducci's.

Cargill has recalled select lots of Milk and Dark Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Ritz Crackers, Peanut Butter Meltaways, Peanut Butter Eggs and Fudge sold locally through the Wilbur Chocolate Retail Store in Lititz, Pennsylvania and online at Wilburbuds.com.

Wawa has removed two products containing Jif peanut butter from all stores in its operating area along the East Coast of the U.S.

The FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are continuing to investigate a multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to certain Jif peanut butter products that were manufactured at the J.M. Smucker Company facility in Lexington, Kentucky. At least 16 people were sickened and two people had to be hospitalized.

Cases of illness have been reported in 12 states: Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, Ohio, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Recalled Jif products have lot codes 1274425 – 2140425. Any jars with those codes should be thrown away.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

If you've eaten peanut butter and are worried, symptoms tend to begin 12 to 72 hours after contact with salmonella, according to the FDA. Most who become ill recover within a week and do not need treatment.

Lot numbers can be sequential or be coded for date and time of production and the particular variety produced. I’m sure every lot is tested in an in-house lab for contaminants including salmonella, getting an answer within days to a week for each lot tested — food safety regulations are very strict about things like that — making it hard for me to imagine that many contaminated lots were produced before anyone noticed.

Afghanistan
The U.S. militarized Afghanistan's police force, funneling millions of dollars to brutal WARLORDS as officials ignored human right abuses, according to watchdog's damning report on America's 20-year war
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Damning new report condemns U.S.-led $21 billion effort to build Afghan police

  • It concludes that putting the Pentagon in charge of the plan meant police were focused on fighting the Taliban rather than tackling crime

  • That empowered warlords, while U.S. officials ignored human rights abuse

  • The Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction also concludes the strategy turned Afghans off the police and gave the Taliban inroads

#2  It's unfortunate the Inspector General hadn't been tasked with the job instead of the actual people who were put in charge. In other words, it's the typical BS after-action report. People who couldn't find their rear ends with both hands and a flashlight are given the job of figuring out how a complicated mission went wrong.

Kamil Galeev got it right. People who have no idea how to do something are asked to figure out how something should have been done. The end result? Gibberish tied up neatly with a bow.

It's a lot like Kissinger in action. The guy writes a bunch of plausible-sounding crap about historical events. Then he turns over South Vietnam to the North on the brink of victory, when North Vietnam had run out of SAM's, and their military installations were naked to US airstrikes, and calls craven surrender a peace agreement. This is a guy who simply should not be trusted near anything important*. Unfortunately for the South Vietnamese and the GI's who were sacrificed to his inept machinations, he was entrusted with the fate of an entire nation.

* There's a reason Kissinger spent no time in anything resembling real private sector work. P&L statements don't lie.

NHTSA investigates Ford Bronco 'catastrophic engine failure' reports
[Auto Blog] Ford's sixth-generation Bronco is under investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) over reports of "catastrophic engine failure." The federal agency wrote that it has received three petitions requesting a probe into the alleged problem.

Assigned NHTSA action number DP22001, the investigation stems from petitions that claim some Bronco models powered by the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 suffer from a valvetrain-related problem that manifests as a loss of power at highway speeds. Starting the engine is then reportedly impossible due to what is described as "a catastrophic engine failure." There's no mention of precisely which component fails.

"This defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and determine whether to grant or deny the petitions," the NHTSA wrote on its website. That means the investigation is not a recall, does not force Ford to issue a recall, and does not acknowledge an issue with the V6.

Enthusiast forum Bronco6G has been documenting cases of engine failures since Bronco deliveries began; as of writing, 50 of its members have reportedly experienced the issue described in the NHTSA's documents. Some describe it as a dropped valve, a problem which usually damages the cylinder and the head, and many of the affected SUVs have received a new engine. Ford said that it's aware of the issue.

"We are aware of a select number of engines with this concern and we are investigating. If any customers are experiencing issues, they will be covered under the vehicle's five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty," a spokesperson for the Blue Oval told The Drive in April 2022.

#1  Yes, your vacation trip may end rather abruptly and with little warning.

Broken Valve Springs

Broken or weak valve springs in an engine can cause many different drivability and performance problems. Broken valve springs cause excessive valve noise, compression loss and can cause severe internal engine damage. The actual breaking of the valve springs is not always the most serious consequence. Actions following the breaking cause the most serious damage to the engine. When spring breaks, it may collapse just enough to allow the valve to drop into the cylinder, where the piston may strike it. In addition, the valve stem locks or keepers may release the valve and allow it to drop into the cylinder, causing severe damage to the piston, cylinder head, and other nearby parts.

#2  The Ford 2.7L Turbo 'Nano' failures seems to have an engine build date range as shown here.

The first generation of these engines were also problematic, but worst issue seemed to have been a leaky oil pan. I'd prefer that to a sucked valve.

Florida man and woman crash into FedEx truck during sex act
[WPLG Local 10] Well, there's really no way to put this delicately. A Florida driver distracted by receiving intimate services from his passenger lost track of his surroundings and crashed head-on (it only gets worse from here, folks) into a FedEx delivery vehicle in Ft. Lauderdale on Thursday, resulting in "injuries to his private area,"

The man and woman were northbound in an SUV on North Ocean Boulevard when the driver apparently became distracted by his passenger's performance and crossed the center line, striking the delivery van as it traveled southbound near the intersection with Northwest 19th St. Neither occupant of the FedEx vehicle was injured; the only package harmed was the one being attentively gift-wrapped by the passenger of the SUV.

Aerial footage of the aftermath showed both SUV occupants being treated at the scene, pants around their ankles. Other reports indicate that the driver and his passenger were both injured in the collision, which happened while the deed was being done. Despite suffering perhaps the most predictable consequence in the world, the driver appears to have gotten lucky twice over, and the resulting injuries were not reported to be reproductively catastrophic.

Government Corruption
New Analysis Details Enormous Economic Consequences as Earners Flee Blue States for Red
[PJ] A new analysis of IRS data shows the financial consequences of gaining or losing population can be either extremely rewarding or devastating to individual states. In 2020, blue states repelled the highest earners while red states attracted them, resulting in massive economic losses and gains.

Wirepoints, an Illinois-based research organization, took a look at the latest migration data released by the IRS and drew some conclusions that should leave Democrat-run states in a cold sweat, wondering how they’ll ever be able to maintain their profligacy.

In the competition for America’s best and brightest residents, the most populous blue states are becoming perennial losers. In 2020, New York, Illinois, California, Massachusetts, and New Jersey suffered net losses in their population, with high-earners taking their income — and tax base — with them:

  • New York was the biggest loser, netting a loss of almost 250,000 residents, who took with them a net of $19.5 billion in income — fully 2.5% of the state’s entire adjusted gross income (AGI) in 2019.
  • California did second-worst, losing a net of 263,000 residents and $17.8 billion in income.
  • The third biggest loser was Illinois, whose 101,000 emigrants took income worth $8.5 billion with them
  • Massachusetts came in fourth with a net loss of $2.6 billion.
  • New Jersey took fifth place with $2.3 billion in lost income.

Not only are fewer people moving into these sputtering states than are moving out, but the newcomers tend to bring less wealth with them than the leavers took. For example, people who moved to Illinois in 2020 made, on average, $30,600 less than those who departed. When taken as a percentage of the state’s 2019 AGI, this was a 1.9% loss for Illinois, making it second only to New York state for lost income as a percentage of state AGI.

Heading up the winner’s column were Florida, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, and South Carolina:

  • Florida was Americans’ number one destination, netting 167,000 new residents who brought with them $23.7 billion in new income — a hefty 3.3% of Florida’s total 2019 AGI.
  • Texas took second place with a net income increase of $6.3 billion.
  • Third-place Arizona gained $4.8 billion.
North Carolina took fourth place with an income increase of $3.8 billion.
  • South Carolina came in at number five with a net increase of $3.6 billion.

Wirepoints included a graph of the top ten states that had net gains in AIG in 2020:

Perkins Coie Update - Hillary's Attorney 'Operated' an FBI Office at Law Firm, But Wait, It Gets Worse...
[PJ] Do you ever get the feeling that we’re playing checkers while our enemies are playing chess? That things are not as they seem? That’s the way it feels in the story of Spygate, the Trump-Russia collusion lie, FBI corruption, and the latest chapter of that entire sad and duplicitous saga that was lived out in a D.C. courtroom this week. Hillary Clinton and Democratic National Committee attorney Michael Sussmann was acquitted by a jury whose forewoman said she felt the special counsel team led by John Durham should have better things to do than investigate a lawyer supposedly lying to the FBI about the president being a Russian spy.

    No biggie, you understand.

As I reported for PJ Media, the evidence in the Sussmann case pointed to an extraordinarily cozy relationship between the FBI and Perkins Coie. Sussmann had credentials to get inside the FBI and was considered to be a trusted Confidential Human Source (CHS).

But the latest news about this relationship gives rise to more and more troubling questions.

Congressmen Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Matt Gaetz (R-Fla) say a whistleblower informed them that Perkins Coie, for which Hillary and the DNC’s campaign attorneys Marc Elias and Sussmann worked, had an FBI outpost there. That’s right, an office space inside the Perkins Coie law firm was run "in concert with the FBI," according to Gaetz. And Michael Sussmann was "operating that worksite."

There could be a simple (cough) explanation to which the proletariat are not privy on why the FBI would have an outpost there, but Gaetz has a few questions. In an appearance on Fox News Channel’s "Tucker Carlson Tonight" (see video below) Gaetz wondered, "What reason would there be for that? What leverage would the Perkins law firm have over the FBI given this work they’re doing together? Why would [FBI Director] Christopher Wray allow it to continue?"

But wait, there’s one more question: "Why ... [was] the person on behalf of Perkins Coie operating that worksite Michael Sussmann himself [for the past 12 months]?"

Former Foggy Bottom Anti-Cop Spox Now Looking for Work.... or Something
[Free Beacon] The State Department deputy spokeswoman who called police the "largest threat to U.S. national security" is leaving her job after a 16-month stint that was marred by public gaffes and internal battles with her colleagues.

Jalina Porter will "transition out" of her job as the State Department’s number-two public face, spokesman Ned Price announced in a press release late Monday. It is unclear if Porter, who has a history of anti-cop rhetoric and reportedly clashed with career State Department officials, is shifting elsewhere in the Biden administration or exiting.

Porter entered the role under a cloud of controversy after the Washington Free Beacon unearthed a series of social media posts in which she claimed the "largest threat to U.S. national security are U.S. cops; Not ISIS, not Russian hackers, not anyone or anything else." In other posts obtained by the Free Beacon, Porter said, "I'm so tired of terrorist cops" and promoted a video directed at the Los Angeles Police Department that states, "Suck my dick and choke on it."

While Porter apologized for her remarks, which were made before she entered public office, it came to light that she clashed with career State Department officials who viewed her as unprepared for press briefings and prone to make policy gaffes that caused diplomatic headaches. State Department and diplomatic insiders who spoke to the Free Beacon said it is strange for the department to announce the departure of a top official without stating what her next role will be.

The Top 10 Creepiest and Most Dystopian Things Pushed by the World Economic Forum (WEF)
[The Vigilant Citizen] The World Economic Forum (WEF) is one of the most powerful organizations in the world. And, throughout the years, people at the WEF have said some truly insane and dystopian things. And they’ve managed to word these things in the creepiest ways possible. Here are the top 10 most insane things said by the WEF.

When one talks about the "global elite", one usually refers to a small group of wealthy and powerful individuals who operate beyond national borders. Through various organizations, these non-elected individuals gather in semi-secrecy to decide policies they want to see applied on a global level.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is smack dab in the middle of it all. Indeed, through its annual Davos meetings, the WEF attempts to legitimize and normalize its influence on the world’s democratic nations by having a panel of world leaders attending and speaking at the event.

A simple look at the list of attendees at these meetings reveals the organization’s incredible reach and influence. The biggest names in media, politics, business, science, technology, and finance are represented at the WEF.

Lauren Boebert TORCHES Dems Over Gun Control, Delivers Best Speech Of Entire Career
[Blue State Conservative] Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) took to the House floor this week and delivered one of the most powerful rebukes Americans have heard when it comes to the illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral efforts on the part of Democrats to remove individuals’ ability to defend themselves.

The speech, perhaps her best ever, raises every critical hypocrisy about this fake effort to keep America safe. In reality, the gun grab is just a totalitarian ploy to make sure the population is docile and defenseless.

Watch as Boebert perfectly captures the words, tone, mood, and energy in these critical times:

Herdsmen Strike In Abia, Abduct Pastor, Wife, Stab Cleric In The Chest

A holy man identified as Apostle Delight Uzo has been stabbed in the chest by assailants suspected to be Fulani
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
    herdsmen.

Uzo, according to reports, was attacked alongside some of his friends in Umuahia, Abia State.

He was said to have been stabbed in the chest and stomach and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

A Facebook user, Bethel Nwakaku, on Friday, said another pastor, Uche Okoro and his wife were kidnapped by the attackers.

He wrote, "Can the South-East governors with the military and police force claim to be ignorant of the invasion of the Fulani bandidos in Igbo land?

"This is my brother and friend Apostle Delight Uzo who was butchered and stabbed at the heart and stomach by Fulani bandidos just close to Umuahia on Saturday night.

"He and one other escaped half dead while others were kidnapped Pastor Uche Okoro and his wife). Daily, Abia State University (ABSU) students are being kidnapped and some others killed. I can now vividly say that the so-called unknown button men are Fulani jihadists. The prelate of the Methodist Church also confirmed that his kidnapping was by Fulani.

"I beckon on the politicians, the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force to rise and flush them out because there's so much anger in the land already."

    Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, Bossy was furiously chewing her cud and thinking...
Isaac Victor Akachukwu on his Facebook page noted that the kidnapped persons had been released after paying a ransom of N1million.

He wrote, "Let’s pray for Apostle Delight Uzochukwu, he and other three pastors were kidnapped by Fulani herdsmen on their way back from Umuahia, he was stabbed mercilessly. He escaped as Pastor Uche Okoro was kidnapped. He and his wife were later released after N1.1million ransom with deep wounds.

Biden tucked $500million bid to build more electric vehicles into the Ukraine aid bill by giving more funds to look for critical battery minerals
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
    • Both Biden and Ukrainian leaders had said that the $40 billion emergency aid package was essential for Ukraine's war against Russia

    • Tucked into that package was half a billion dollars to be allocated under the Defense Production Act to companies obtaining critical battery minerals

    • That's in addition to the $750 million DOD was authorized to dole out to mining companies when Biden first invoked DPA for critical minerals

Microsoft blocks Lebanese cyberattacks on Israeli firms, possibly directed by Iran
[IsraelTimes] Microsoft says group it has dubbed ’Polonium’ may be in cahoots with Tehran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security

Microsoft has suspended over 20 OneDrive accounts for abusing the file hosting service in order to carry out cyberattacks on Israeli companies across numerous industries, including defense and financial services

Company officials wrote Thursday that they had high confidence the organization behind the attacks, which it dubbed "Polonium," is based in Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...a formerly French, now an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. ...
, and said they had moderate confidence that it was collaborating with Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

"Such collaboration or direction from Tehran would align with a string of revelations since late 2020 that the government of Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
is using third parties to carry out cyber operations on their behalf, likely to enhance Iran’s plausible deniability" of direct cyberattacks, Microsoft said.

The company said Polonium has targeted organizations previously targeted by Mercury, an identified "subordinate element" within MOIS, and has used similar tactics to those of Iranian cyber groups "Lyceum" and "CopyKittens."

Microsoft suggested that these factors point to possible "hand-off" operations, whereby MOIS provides Polonium with access to previously compromised victim environments in order to execute new activity.

Microsoft has not linked any of Polonium’s attacks to those of other groups based in Lebanon, including Volatile Cedar, a cyber espionage group.

Early last month, the National Cyber Directorate launched a joint venture with the Communications Ministry to strengthen Israeli cybersecurity in the hopes of creating a so-called "iron dome" in the cyber sphere.

These reforms require firms to purchase cutting-edge cybersecurity technology to identify, contain and recover potential cyberattacks, as well as to create internal measures to show the cybersecurity efforts they take. In addition, companies must implement five levels of information security mechanisms.

In the past decade, Iran has conducted countless cyberattacks across the globe, affecting the US, Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
    and Israel.

    Europe
Spurred by Russian threat, Germany okays takes first step to okay $100 billion fund to beef up army
One of these days they’ll stop taking bows for finally meeting military spending promises at least a generation old, and finally start actually doing it.
[IsraelTimes] Move will push Berlin to meet NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
defense spending target after years of criticism, and transform neglected Bundeswehr into Europe’s largest military.

The German parliament voted on Friday for a constitutional amendment to create a special 100 billion euro ($107 billion) fund to rearm the German military and modernize its outdated equipment over the next few years.

Deputies of the Bundestag lower house approved the measure 567 votes to 96 with 20 abstentions after the center-left-led government and the conservative opposition agreed that defense spending would meet the 2% target "on a multi-year average," with help from the special fund.

The watershed move answers years of criticism from close allies that Berlin was failing to achieve NATO’s target of spending two percent of GDP on defense. The Bundesrat upper house, which represents Germany’s state governments, must still approve the measure.

The opposition insisted during negotiations with Scholz’s coalition that the fund be used exclusively for the Bundeswehr, rather than go toward other things related to national security, such as aid to stabilizing poor countries or civilian cyber-defense measures.

The bulk of the German investment — 40.9 billion euros — will go toward the air force with the acquisition of 35 Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets to replace aging Tornado aircraft, 15 Eurofighter jets and 60 Chinook CH-47F transport helicopters, made by Boeing.

Nearly 20 billion euros will be earmarked for the navy, mainly for new corvettes, frigates and a 212-model submarine. More than 16 billion euros will beef up the army’s holdings with Marder transport tanks and Fuchs armored troop carriers.

The exceptional fund will be financed by additional debt. For that it was necessary to circumvent the "debt brake" rule enshrined in the constitution, which caps government borrowing. This was why the government needed the support of the conservative opposition to muster the two-thirds majority in parliament needed to pass the constitutional amendment.

Since the end of the Cold War, Germany has significantly reduced the military from around 500,000 in 1990 to just 200,000 today. Fewer than 30 percent of German naval ships were "fully operational" according to a report published December on the state of the military. Many of the country’s fighter aircraft are unfit to fly.
And then there are the shortages of vehicle spare parts, not to mention bullets
I understand a colorful collection is now available.

Iraqi forces keep pursuing the terrorists in different governorates

On Friday, Iraqi intelligence arrested a "dangerous terrorist" south of Baghdad.

The Iraqi Security Media Cell said that a joint force of intelligence and ground forces had arrested a prominent terrorist in the Radwaniyah area, south of Baghdad.

The detainee is nicknamed "Abu Miqdad" and "Abu Al-Sara." He held a position in the so-called Wilayat Al-Janoub (the South Sector), after which he was the commander of the divisions in the south of Baghdad.

He was handed over to the relevant authorities. The Cell said.

Yesterday, the Iraqi army arrested an ISIS leader on the outskirts of Baghdad. An official security source told Shafaq News Agency.

The 11th Division of the Army apprehended the so-called Emir Abu Qatar al-Iraqi while trying to reach the Iraqi capital.

The terrorist was handed over to the relevant authorities. The source said.

Earlier this week, the Iraqi Military Intelligence arrested an ISIS member west of Nineveh.

In a statement, the Agency said that the 15th Division, backed by the ground forces, raided the location of a terrorist in the village of Al-Sumoud in Zummar district, west of Nineveh, and arrested him.

The detainee is "an ISIS member working in the so-called Mutah Division – Wilayat Al-Jazira. His brother and son had worked with the terrorist organization, but the first was killed, and his son was arrested earlier.

Funder of ISIS Foreign Fighter Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison
[JusticeGov] Defendant Sentenced for Conspiracy and Attempt to Provide Material Support

A citizen of Uzbekistan and resident of Brooklyn was sentenced today to 15 years in prison for conspiring to and attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
    of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).

Dilkhayot Kasimov, 34, was convicted of both counts following a one-week trial in September 2019. According to court documents, in 2015, Kasimov’s co-conspirators Abdurasul Juraboev and Akhror Saidakhmetov planned to travel to Syria to fight on behalf of ISIS. Kasimov provided money — his own and cash collected by others — to help fund Saidakhmetov’s travel and expenses. On the evening of Saidakhmetov’s scheduled departure in February 2015, Kasimov drove to John F. Kennedy International Airport, met Saidakhmetov at the terminal and handed him $1,600 in cash on behalf of himself, co-conspirator Abror Habibov and others.

"Kasimov is an ISIS supporter who collected and gave money to another individual to fund his travel to join the terrorist group. With this sentence, Kasimov is being held accountable for his crimes," said Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew G. Olsen. "The National Security Division is committed to identifying and holding accountable those who seek to provide material support to foreign terrorist organizations. I would like to thank all of the agents, analysts and prosecutors who are responsible for this case."

"Today’s sentence demonstrates the significant consequences for those who help terrorist groups, including by facilitating travel of others to join ISIS," said U.S. Attorney Breon Peace for the Eastern District of New York. "Kasimov was part of a group of individuals who sought to travel to Syria to join ISIS or to fund others who sought to become imported muscle for ISIS. The Department of Justice and our law enforcement partners will continue working relentlessly to protect our country from holy warriors and those who would provide support to them."

"Providing financial support to potential ISIS-inspired imported muscle comes with a stiff penalty," said Assistant Director in Charge Michael J. Driscoll of the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
New York Field Office. "As Kasimov learned today, his actions will cost him 15 years behind bars. The FBI continues to make every effort to protect Americans at home and abroad and to bring other like-minded criminals to justice."

Co-defendants Juraboev and Saidakahmetov were each sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, while co-defendant Azizjon Rakhmatov was sentenced to 12.5 years’ imprisonment. Habibov and co-defendant Akmal Zakirov are awaiting sentencing. A seventh co-conspirator, Dilshod Khusanov, who was charged in a separate indictment, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to designated foreign terrorist organizations and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 5.

Human Rights Radar, a product of Morningstar subsidiary Sustainalytics, is meant to provide investors with information on issues in the world where alleged human rights violations take place.

According to complaints first raised by JLens, which advocates for Israel in the investing world, Human Rights Radar’s biased ratings amounted to an antisemitic boycott of Israel. It had accused Sustainalytics of supporting the Boycott, Divest and Sanction (BDS) movement.

Morningstar said its report had not found evidence that Sustainalytics products recommended or encouraged divestment from Israel and there was no evidence of pervasive or systemic bias against Israel across Sustainalytics products.

    However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
it did find that the Human Rights Radar product "exhibited bias in its outcomes by overrepresenting firms linked to the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict."

The report also found that Human Rights Radar "sometimes used inflammatory language and failed to provide sourcing attribution clearly and consistently."

As a result, Morningstar said it was dropping Human Rights Radar and would work to make Sustainalytics more transparent.

Morningstar also acknowledged that it had been overly dismissive of concerns raised.

"We stated then — and reaffirm today — that neither Morningstar nor Sustainalytics supports the anti-Israel BDS campaign. However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
in retrospect, our initial review was overly dismissive of the serious bias concerns raised by the organization JLens, the Illinois Investment Policy Board (IIPB) and other entities," the statement said.

Morningstar initiated the review two weeks before the IIPB was set to place the company on its blacklist, which would have barred state-run pension systems from investing in Morningstar.

    Two illegal immigrants held
[Dawn] The Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber crime wing has arrested two Pak illegal immigrants colonists allegedly involved in human smuggling and secretly filming women in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
Both the suspects had been arrested by Ottoman Turkish police and deported to Pakistain.

A FIA front man said the suspects were involved in human trafficking and secretly making films of women in Turkey and uploading those on social media. Both were deported to Pakistain by the Ottoman Turkish authority which led to the registration of a case against them by the cyber crime wing and launching of an investigation to track down their accomplices.

The arrests of the suspects — Mohammad Junaid and Ameer Khan - came about in separate operations after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, currently on an official visit to Turkey, took notice and directed the FIA to take action against them.

The front man said the suspects were involved in transportation of illegal immigrants colonists from Pakistain to Turkey.

    Southeast Asia
Thai peace negotiator: Rebel group responsible for attack in Deep South
Confirming that the original attack did, indeed, deserve to be posted on Page 1: War on Terror.
    [BenarNews] BRN
...Barisan Revolusi Nasional, the largest group in the Thai insurgency in the southern Thai provinces that make up the old Patani sultanate...
separatists carried out a dramatic attack along the Malaysian border last week that shattered a nearly two-month pause in violence in Thailand’s Deep South, a pro-insurgent Facebook page and a Thai government peace negotiator claimed.

Three Thai government security personnel were maimed when more than 10 button men armed with assault rifles and grenades attacked a cop shoppe and a customs office in the Tak Bai district of Narathiwat province on May 25.

The lead negotiator representing Barisan Nasional Revolusi rebels in Malaysia-brokered peace talks with Thailand challenged Bangkok’s claim and questioned the validity of the social media post that his group was responsible for the raid.

"On the incident in Tak Bai, the BRN army launched attacks against the Siam military and destroyed cars. Thanks to God, with Allah’s grace, three Siam military personnel were maimed, and their spirits shaken," said a message posted on Facebook on Tuesday, referring to Thailand by its old name and the largest holy warrior group in the mainly Moslem and Malay southern border region.

Thai military officials identified the poster as a BRN supporter.

On Wednesday, Lt. Gen. Thira Daehwa, who serves as the secretary for the panel representing Thailand in the peace talks, said he "could not believe that the BRN ignored the local people’s wish for peace and livelihood."

"It is possible that the attack was meant to [the] ruin peace talks atmosphere and Ramadan peace," Thira told BenarNews.

Anas Abdulrahman, the lead negotiator for the BRN panel, denied that the rebels were responsible.

"The Thai military has no evidence whatsoever to accuse BRN because no one declared that they are responsible for the Tak Bai incident," Anas Abdulrahman told BenarNews.

"So the Thai military assumes that those with the capability and capacity to launch such an attack would be BRN, so they accused us. And the attack in Tak Bai will not affect the peace negotiation process because it happened after the Ramadhan Peace Initiative expired."

Anas also noted the Facebook post was not on the BRN’s official page.

"Any official announcement will only be issued by the BRN central secretariat, BRN Information Bureau and BRN Negotiation Secretariat. BRN will not be responsible for any type of statements, media or announcements coming from any other medium or parties besides the ones mentioned here," he said.

During the coordinated attack, the rebels hurled explosives and opened fire with automatic rifles at a marine cop shoppe on the Kolok River that separates Thailand from Malaysia, police said. The rebels also targeted a customs office and a convenience store.

The raid marked the biggest eruption of violence since the two sides agreed in early April to a truce to last through Ramadan. The truce expired May 14.

Lt. Gen. Kriangkrai Srirak, the commander of the 4th Army Region which oversees the Deep South, released details about the ongoing investigation on Wednesday.

"Regarding the Tak Bai incident, we have compiled evidence and done a forensic examination, which showed that the weapons used and bombs and pipe bombs were linked to holy warriors. The spent shell forensics also showed the same links," he told BenarNews.

Kriangkrai said the attackers attacked the marine cop shoppe because it was involved in recent crackdowns on illegal cross-border activities. He alleged that the suspected holy warriors, who have not been identified, have ties to criminal syndicates involved in smuggling drugs and illegal goods across the frontier.

"We have to arrest the attackers. They — the affected trafficking syndicate and the forces of Evil — are linked. We have evidence, and we won’t let them go unpunished," he said.

Malaysia has served as a controller of peace talks between the government and southern Thai rebels — most recently BRN. Facilitator Rahim Noor said more talks were scheduled for July.

Kriangkrai, the Thai regional army commander, said the attack would not affect efforts to bring peace to the Deep South.

"Peace talks will continue to allow people to have a better quality of life and safety to live a normal life," he said.

The armed separatist movement in the Deep South against Buddhist-majority Thailand began in the 1960s. Since the insurgency reignited in January 2004, more than 7,000 people have been killed and 13,500 others in regional violence, according to Deep South Watch, a local think-tank.

Iran probes death of another Revolutionary Guard colonel, denies assassination
    [AnNahar] Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
said on Friday it has launched an investigation into the death of a member of its Revolutionary Guards and denied reports that he had been assassinated.

"A member of the Revolutionary Guards died in recent days in an accident in his home," the official news agency IRNA said, citing what it called an informed source.

It rejected "allegations" by foreign-based opposition media that Colonel Ali Esmailzadeh, a commander of the Guards' external operations unit, the Quds Force, had been killed in recent days in Karaj, west of Tehran.

The denial comes days after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps accused Israel of shooting dead Colonel Sayyad Khodai on May 22.

Iran on Monday vowed to avenge the death of Khodai, 50, who was shot full of holes by assailants on cycle of violences outside his home in the east of the Iranian capital.

It was the most high-profile killing inside Iran since the November 2020 murder of top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh -- an act the Islamic republic also blamed on its arch enemy Israel.

IRNA said an investigation had been opened into the latest death, without giving further details.

The Guards are designated as a terrorist group by the United States.

Govt employees protest for 2nd day in Jammu, seek transfer from Kashmir

A group of babus government employees, mostly teachers, staged a sit-in here for the second day on Friday to press for their transfer from Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
to their home districts in the Jammu region following a string of assassinations by Death Eaters in Kashmir.

These employees have returned to Jammu after their colleague, Rajni Bala, was rubbed out by Death Eaters at a school in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Tuesday.

Under the banner of 'All Jammu-based reserved categories employees association', the protesters took out a march from the Press Club to Ambedkar Chowk on Thursday and followed it by another sit-in at Panama Chowk in the heart of the city on Friday.

"We are not going to return to Kashmir to resume our duties in the prevailing alarming situation following the assassinations. We prefer to die here rather than go back," said Surinder Kumar.

He urged the government to take note of their protest and ensure their transfer from Kashmir to the Jammu region.

Kumar said they have already served in Kashmir for 15 years and "are not willing to return to get killed at the hands of terrorists".

Women teachers, who took part in the protest, expressed their unwillingness to return to the Valley because of the security issues.

"Where are the safer zones in Kashmir? We have to move out, drop our children at local schools and attend to our duties," a woman said.

She said they were living happily with the local population in Kashmir over the past decade and claimed that assassinations have triggered fear among them.

#1  The New Narrative: the time for NEGOTIATIONS is now.

    1. CNN: Western allies meeting regularly to game out potential framework for Ukraine ceasefire as war hits 100th day
"Washington (CNN)Staring down the prospect of an extended stalemate in Ukraine, the US and its allies are placing a renewed emphasis on the need for a negotiated settlement to end the war... .US officials have in recent weeks been meeting regularly with their British and European counterparts to discuss potential frameworks for a ceasefire and for ending the war through a negotiated settlement, multiple sources familiar with the talks told CNN. ... [These involve] Ukraine committing to neutrality with regard to NATO in exchange for some security guarantees, and negotiations between Ukraine and Russia on the future of Crimea and the Donbas region."

    2. Jeffrey Sachs [professor at Columbia and former served as an adviser to three United Nations secretaries-general]:"it is in Ukraine's interest to return to the negotiating table, which it has refused to do since late March. I believe that the US should recognize that it acted irresponsibly in pushing for NATO enlargement into Ukraine and Georgia."

    3. Andrew Latham, The Hill: "Russia’s inevitable victory is [not desirable and won't be] total. The outcome of this war is a Pyrrhic victory [for Russia] at best. But it will be a victory nonetheless — and we in the West had better come to grips with that hard truth. ...

"Just as Ukraine lacks the ability to liberate all its pre-2014 territory, it also lacks the ability to liberate the recently conquered territory in the Donbas or along the Azov coast. Unlike in the north of Ukraine, these territories are central to Russian interests in Ukraine and, as such, Russia simply will not withdraw from them as it withdrew from Kyiv earlier in the war.

"Nor will Ukrainian forces – themselves, it should be noted, suffering terrible attrition all along the battle front and growing weaker with each passing day – be strong enough to compel them to do so. No, like the previous two scenarios, this one is simply an impossibility.

"And that leaves only one other conceivable outcome: a fragmented and partly dismembered Ukraine, neither fully part of the West nor entirely within the Russian sphere of influence.

"A Ukraine fragmented in that the whole of the Donbas and perhaps other territories will be left beyond Kyiv’s control; partly dismembered in that Crimea will remain part of Russia (at least in Russian eyes); and not fully part of the West in that it will not be free to join NATO or even to have a meaningful partnership with the EU. Simply put, this outcome is not only not impossible, it’s not even improbable.

"And when this final scenario comes to pass, who will have won the war in Ukraine? Well, it won’t be Ukraine."

Oregon overdose rates soared by 700% after decriminalizing ALL drugs last year: Officials admit millions in funding for treatment centers was held up and few offenders even bothered to use them but insist they will continue the scheme
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
    • Oregon voters approved a ballot measure in 2020 to decriminalize hard drugs after being told it was a way to establish and fund addiction recovery centers

    • The scheme - the first in the nation - went into effect in February 2021, and sees possession of controlled substances classed as a Class E 'violation'

    • No longer a felony or misdemeanor, possession now carries a maximum $100 fine, which can be waived if the person calls a hotline for a health assessment

    • Yet of the 1,885 people who received tickets for personal possession in the first year, only 91 called the hotline

    • On Thursday, state officials provided an update on the scheme and said that they had underestimated the work to dispense grants to healthcare providers

    • They said the $300 million scheme had 'potential', but admitted only $40 million in funds have been disbursed

    • A Republican representative for the Eagle's Pass area said that in her district there has been a 700% increase in overdoses and a 120% increase in deaths

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
From the Russian Perspective: Operation on Denazification of Ukraine: operational summary June 3rd (updated)
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] 22:25 Rockets flew from Crimea. Explosions are already heard in Odessa. Probably air defense, ”the Ukrainian media write. Also explosions in Nikolaev.

In many regions of Ukraine, an air raid alarm is roaring.

21:13 Servicemen of the 25th Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine got American grenade launchers M-32. This modification of the South African MGL grenade launcher, created for the US Marine Corps and Special Forces.

21:12 The UN calls on Russia and Ukraine to resume negotiations to achieve peace as soon as possible, said the representative of the UN Secretary General Stéphane Dujarric.

21:11 Residents of Kherson and Zaporozhye are unlikely to be interested in the position of the European Union, choosing to link their future with Russia, Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, believes.

"Josep Borrell said that the European Union not only does not recognize, but also condemns the issuance of Russian passports to residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. <...> The inhabitants of these regions want to determine their own destiny, to link it with Russia. And they are unlikely to ask the opinion of the European Union," Slutsky wrote in his Telegram channel.

21:10 Deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region Stremousov commented to RIA Novosti on his inclusion in the EU sanctions:

"We are not afraid of sanctions, we are Russian people… I will not suffer from these sanctions in any way. I am not going to go to the European Union, I am not going to invest money in their banks and do business with them."

21:10 While the Armed Forces of Ukraine are unsuccessfully trying to advance in the direction of Kherson, everything is unchanged in Nikolaev: the Ukrainian command continues to use the city to restore combat capabilities and deploy military facilities:

Residents of the Salt world region from time to time observe the movement of tractors with tanks along Heroiv Stalingrad Avenue. It’s easy to guess where they are being taken: an armored plant still functions in Nikolaev. There, the equipment is repaired and retrofitted with subsequent shipment to the front line.

20:02 The Russian Embassy demanded detailed explanations from the United States why Mi-17s are being transferred to Ukraine without the knowledge and consent of Russia as an exporting country, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. The new package of "military assistance" from the United States to Ukraine includes four Mi-17 helicopters, which the Russian Federation previously transferred to the United States for Afghanistan.

20:00 Russian servicemen and the Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered several tons of humanitarian aid to Izyum. Residents will be provided with food and essential goods. The distribution of humanitarian aid will be targeted: the Ukrainian regime has declared local residents enemies and is delivering targeted strikes at places where the civilian population is concentrated

18:54 "Fight" in Odessa: Kharkiv citizen attacked policemen with a grenade. The mass distribution of weapons by the Kyiv regime led to a surge in crime and tragedies. So, a resident of Kharkov and his cohabitant decided to sell grenades, a Kalashnikov assault rifle and cartridges in Odessa.

18:49 Ukrainians en masse sell weapons received from the West. The assortment includes rifles, grenades (from five pieces), pistols, body armor, etc. It is noteworthy that only one seller already has 32 successful transactions.

17:47 Independent journalist from the USA Lancaster told RIA Novosti that the Ukrainian military is firing rockets with cluster warheads at peaceful settlements in the Kherson region, as they have done for the last eight years in the Donbass

17:00 Residents of Melitopol continue filing documents for obtaining Russian citizenship. Neither the large queue nor the heat stops them. People have been waiting for this for eight years.

17:00 The EU does not recognize and condemns the issuance of Russian passports to residents of Kherson and Zaporozhye, Borrell said.

16:58 Several explosions thundered in Dnepropetrovsk. There was no air raid.

16:57 The governments of the Lugansk People's Republic and Moscow signed an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.

15:47 In Kyiv and in many regions of Ukraine, an air raid alarm is roaring.

15:46 In Energodar discovered the hideout of Ukrainian terrorists. Ammunition, smoke bombs, Nazi literature, as well as the flags of the "Right Sector" were seized from the cache. Explosive objects were intended to commit terrorist acts and kill law enforcement officers and government officials in the liberated settlements of the Zaporozhye region.

14:37 The Russian military destroyed in the Nikolaev area a command post of the Ukrainian UAVs - the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

14:37 Head of the Zaporozhye Regional State Administration signed a Decree "On the nationalization of the property of the state of Ukraine in favor of the Zaporozhye region."

The Decree regulates land plots, natural resources, objects of strategic sectors of the economy, property owned by Ukraine as of February 24, 2022.

"We are talking about strategic objects: roads, railways, stations of the energy complex, land plots that belonged to the National Academy of Sciences. Everything that belonged to the state of Ukraine. This does not apply to private property. We cannot leave workers of the railroad, highway, national parks without wages. All state facilities, for the duration of the special operation, have been transferred to the administration of the Zaporozhye region since today," said the Head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region Yevhen Balitsky.

13:52 The only chance for Ukraine is to capitulate to the Russians. General Twitty, former deputy commander of the US European Command, shared his vision of the situation in an interview with Military Watch:

"Ukrainians are doomed in this battle, the only way to stop the collapse of Ukraine is to accept Russia’s conditions as soon as possible, to capitulate to them. The Ukrainians do not have enough combat power to resist, they are not sufficiently motivated and shamelessly inferior to the Russians in aviation and technology. No help from the West will fix this."

13:49 Against the background of the political catastrophe of Kyiv in Mariupol and military failures in the Donbass by the Kyiv regime with the financial support of the UK organized shooting "spiritual" videos for Western and Ukrainian audiences.

In particular, on May 28, in the area of the settlement of Meshkovka, Mykolaiv region, staged video materials were filmed about the allegedly “high efficiency” of the use of Western weapons by Ukrainian nationalists. To give the future picture more drama, at the insistence of the British curators, a "reconstruction" of the never-existing "battle" of the Ukrainian Nazis with the outnumbered "Russian servicemen" was created on the set.

The roles of the “opponents” of the Ukrainian Nazis in the staged short film were played by members of the local territorial defense unit wearing red armbands. Due to the lack of captured Russian equipment, the “mock enemy” appears in the frame on Ukrainian armored personnel carriers and armored vehicles.

13:48 Russia leads stopping the enemy offensive in the Kherson region. Russian artillery destroys the advancing Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Davydov Brod. The Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eve indirectly admitted that the offensive ended in failure.

13:47 So far, there is no understanding about the time frame for a possible referendum in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions on joining Russia - Peskov.

13:47 The special operation to protect the Donbass will continue until all the intended goals are achieved - the Kremlin.

12:47 Full-scale hostilities returned to the Kharkiv region. "Come and See" made an actual map specifically. To date, it can be stated that the Ukrainian offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region has completely bogged down. Fights go for Shestakovo and Stary Saltov.

According to Go and See sources, Russian DRGs may already be operating in Tsirkuny. In other words, the RF Armed Forces are gradually taking away the settlements recaptured by the Ukrainians as a result of the recent counter-offensive. However, the complete blocking and assault of Kharkov itself will become possible only after the liberation of Donbass.

12:46 Ukrainian POW Lieutenant Shuvaldin Alexander Valeryevich told journalists about how fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine independently learn the basics of handling weapons through the Internet, as well as about propaganda against Russia.

12:46 Presumably, the first French mercenary was killed in Ukraine during a special operation of the Russian Armed Forces near Kharkov, Radio Europe-1 reports. According to him, the young man died a few days ago, having received a "mortal wound during artillery shelling."

He was in the ranks of the so-called International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine and participated in hostilities against Russian military personnel. As the radio station clarifies, in total, about 150 mercenaries from France operate in Ukraine on the side of Kyiv.

11:57 Kyiv, with the financial support of the UK, is making films about the supposedly high effectiveness of Western weapons in Ukraine.

11:57 Russian aviation destroyed 13 Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, the Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system, two Grad MLRS installations.

11:57 During the day, three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by means of air defense of the Russian Federation, three missiles of the Uragan MLRS were intercepted.

11:57 Rocketeers and artillerymen hit 26 command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a day.

11:56 Since the beginning of the special operation, the RF Armed Forces have destroyed 1,087 UAVs and 3,386 armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

11:55 Kyiv makes fake videos about the "high efficiency" of Western weapons.

11:55 The Russian Armed Forces hit 21 areas of concentration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a day with high-precision weapons.

11:53 Ukrainian militants stole humanitarian aid intended for civilians. Another evidence that the inhabitants of Donbass are second-class people for Kyiv. At one of the bases of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Krasny Liman, huge stocks of humanitarian aid were found, which they kept for themselves and did not transfer to civilians.

11:25 To Kupyansk (Kharkiv region)arrived Russian humanitarian aid. More than 20 tons of food were delivered to the city. The cargo included: cereals, butter, canned food, pasta.

11:24 Military APU told how Russian military personnel treat prisoners. Ukrainian media claim that Russian soldiers abuse captured soldiers. Lieutenant Alexander Shuvaldin noted that information is being disseminated on the territory of Ukraine that is directly opposite to what actually exists.

“No one inflicted bodily blows, a normal attitude. There are many inconsistencies from Ukrainian propaganda. The most elementary thing is that in Russia everyone is a "thug". In fact, here I am in captivity for three days, Russians normally treat me like a person. If you ask for water or cigarettes, they all give. The food is good," said the lieutenant.

10:55 Refusal to negotiate threatens Ukraine with loss of national sovereignty -Medvedev.

10:48 Russian flag now fluttering over Novokonstantinovka. The “Warrior” unit, together with the residents of Novokonstantinovka, the Priazovsky district of Melitopol, raised the Russian flag.

8:26 In the Kharkiv direction, the RF Armed Forces are conducting a counteroffensive. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are moving additional tank units to Udy. The RF Armed Forces are fighting for Fedorovka and Shestakovo. In the Khotomli area, the Armed Forces of Ukraine built a pontoon crossing.

8:15 Another batch of humanitarian aid weighing 1,500 tons has been delivered to Ukraine and the Donbass, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported.

Man behind infamous NSBA letter says organization's leaders 'completely backstabbed' him
[FoxNews] The former interim executive director and CEO of the National School Boards Association, Chip Slaven, spoke with Fox News Digital to clear the record about the infamous letter he sent to the Biden administration, as well as to comment on the organization's recent independent report that appeared to place the blame squarely on him.

During the two-hour interview, Slaven rebutted the notion that the White House asked for the letter, he explained the backstory behind his concerns about the rising threats against school board members, and said the narrative that the NSBA intended to call parents "domestic terrorists" had gotten out of hand and was not based on fact.

The NSBA sent the letter to President Biden in September 2021 which asked for incidents at school board meetings to be federally looked into, and said that school officials were facing threats and violence. Most notably, the NSBA requested that actions should be examined under the Patriot Act as domestic terrorism.

[GatewayPundit] CISA Releases Much-Anticipated Report on Dominion Voting Machines – Reveals Software Is Exploitable and Attackers Are Able to Insert Malicious Code to Alter Results

    CISA
...Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency ...
released its much-anticipated report on Dominion Voting Machines on Friday afternoon before the weekend.

Last Saturday, CNN admitted that Dominion Voting Machine Software has flaws that can be exploited.

Federal authorities finally admitted to this truth last Saturday during the long holiday weekend.

The same officials who did not inspect the machines after the election told CNN that there is no evidence that the machines were tampered with.

The Gateway Pundit has been reporting on Dominion for two years now. It appears officials are finally catching up on something we already knew.

The report shows that software could be leveraged by an attacker to gain elevated privileges and to install malicious code.

Bomb kills two peacekeepers in Mali: UN
[AlAhram] Two UN peacekeepers were killed and two others injured Friday after an improvised bomb went kaboom! in central Mali, a front man for the MINUSMA mission tweeted.

The soldiers were part of the Egyptian contingent of the UN peacekeeping mission, a security official said.

"The head of MINUSMA condemned the attack," front man Olivier Salgado posted.

He said the incident took place near the town of Douentza, on the road to Timbuktu.

On Wednesday, a Jordanian blue helmet died in an attack on his convoy in Kidal, in northern Mali.

With 13,000 members, the mission is one of the UN's biggest peacekeeping operations, and also one of its most dangerous.

It says 174 troops have died from hostile acts.

U.S. Marine Corps Goes Woke, Celebrates ‘Pride Month' with Rainbow Bullets
[Breitbart] The U.S. Marine Corps went full woke on Wednesday, marking the first day of “Pride Month” with a celebratory image featuring rainbow bullets.

“Throughout June, the USMC [U.S. Marine Corps] takes #Pride in recognizing and honoring the contributions of our LGBTQ service members,” the U.S. Marine Corps said in a statement posted to social media.

“We remain committed to fostering an environment free from discrimination, and defend the values of treating all equally, with dignity and respect,” it added, using the hashtags #PrideMonth and #USMC. The statement is accompanied by an image of a Marine helmet adorned with six bullets, each a different color, comprising a rainbow:

Commenters were woefully unamused by the pandering attempt.

“Maybe focus on what’s actually important to the nation’s defense. China and Russia are bolstering up their ranks with masculinity understanding it’s necessity, while we seem to be celebrating sexual choices and gender changes in our military,” one user remarked as another said, “This makes me sad.”

    “Is this satire?” another asked.

“I’ve seen it all now,” another exclaimed as one added, “Focus on building warriors and less about social bullshit.”

The tweet came on the first day of “Pride Month,” which spurred mass pandering from the Biden administration, corporate media, and various organizations.

A number of us saw then the militancy of the gay movement to not just seek tolerance, or even overt acceptance, but dominance and demands of acceptance of increasingly aberrant behavior. We were shouted down, and now, they move to obliterate every aspect of traditional normalcy. This isn't tolerance, it is imperious, aggressive imprinting of societal norms. Police from across US discuss 'perfect storm' of issues facing cities over past 2 years
[FoxNews] Police chiefs expressed concern with how district attorneys and judges are prosecuting criminals at the annual MCCA/PERF conference.

Law enforcement officers from across the United States gathered this week to discuss a "perfect storm" of issues that major city departments have faced over the past two years.

A diverse group of police chiefs from major U.S. cities met at the 2022 Police Executive Research Forum (PERF)/ Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) Annual Conference in San Francisco and pointed to four main issues plaguing departments since 2020: COVID-19, summer protests following the 2020 murder of George Floyd, a law enforcement workforce shortage and rising violent crime, particularly in the wake of three major mass shootings in Buffalo, New York; Uvalde, Texas; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"I think over the two days … we went through a myriad of issues that we've all seen through COVID before," Baltimore Police Chief and PERF President Michael Harrison told Fox News Digital. "[C]oming out of COVID has affected how people look at our profession from the outside, how we as officers look at ourselves on the inside, and how we perform and deliver police services and what we're up against — the obstacles that are in front of us."

Charlotte-Mecklenberg Police Chief Johnny Jenkins and Nashville Police Chief John Drake mentioned that they have diverted talent responding to property crimes toward violent crimes instead in an effort to curb fatal and nonfatal shootings.

Police chiefs from New York City, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, Milwaukee, Orlando and Los Angeles each expressed some concern with how their respective district attorneys or lead prosecutors, as well as their local court systems, have made significant judicial policy changes that have altered how and even whether accused criminals face justice.

NYPD Chief Kenneth Corey noted that 78% of those arrested for nonfatal shootings are currently walking the streets of New York City.

Overdoses Up 700% After Oregon Decriminalizes Hard Street Drugs. Officials Mystified.
[PJMedia] In November 2020, Oregon voters approved ballot measure 110, making Oregon the first state in the nation to decriminalize the possession of hard drugs. M110 made the possession of personal use amounts of hard street drugs like heroin or meth punishable by a citation of up to $100, and directed funding to drug treatment programs. The voters bought the argument that the state could better disburse resources to treatment rather than prosecuting offenders criminally. In addition, the citation and fine could be waived if the offender called a hotline that would offer a “health assessment.”

    Guess what happened next?

Officials at the Oregon Health Authority testified to legislative committees this week about the results of the program. It isn’t good. According to the Daily Mail:

Oregon’s first-in-the-nation scheme to decriminalize drugs and encourage those caught possessing them to seek medical help has been blighted with problems, officials admitted on Thursday – as one Republican politician said there had been a 700 percent in overdoses in her district in the last year.

Of the 1,885 people who got tickets in the first year of the program, only 91 called the hotline. Of those who called, only a handful had any interest in getting treatment.

According to an earlier report in January by Oregon Catalyst, of the 68 people who had called the hotline by that point, 49 expressed zero interest in getting help, and only 11 got connected to treatment services.

    Eleven.

A report by OPB notes that the program comes with some hefty strings, with rural areas struggling to provide sufficient resources:

Under the measure, providers applying for funds in different regions of the state, in many cases by county, must jointly form “Behavioral Health Resource Networks.” Each network must provide a range of services that includes needs screening, intervention planning, low-barrier substance use treatment, peer support, housing services, harm reduction and supported employment.

And, providers must provide services in a way that aligns with the spirit of Measure 110. For example, services must be culturally competent, inclusive and low barrier. This means that programs can’t eject a patient for a single relapse, and that harm reduction services — such as overdose reversing drugs, fentanyl testing strips and clean syringes — should be available for people who are not ready to abstain from substance use. In some regions, a single provider serves as the entire network.

Oregonians were sold a bill of goods when they approved Measure 110. In exchange for legalizing small amounts of hard street drugs, Oregon voters were assured that M110 would allocate significant funding for drug treatment, which has badly lagged in the state for years. Voters were told nonviolent drug users didn’t deserve to be locked up, and that marijuana tax money could pay for treatment. A report in April revealed the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) had gone AWOL. Treatment service providers were told when they applied for funds in December 2021 that OHA would make a decision by February 2022. By April, OHA was telling them to expect applications to be processed by the fall. Some non-profit treatment programs, relying on the promised grants, feared they might not stay open long enough to receive the funds.

In legislative testimony this week, Oregon Health Authority officials admitted they had no idea how complex the program would be to implement. They, of course, requested higher staffing levels to deal with it. Of the $276 million they received in funding for drug treatment grants to non-profits, only $40 million had been disbursed. The Secretary of State’s office is conducting an audit of the implementation of Measure 110.

IMHO, controlling firearms by a left-wing government is more about disarming law-abiding citizens that pose a threat to an out-of-control lawless government than it is about reducing crime and protecting citizens. Criminals and head cases will always find a way to obtain firearms. Control the border and you will reduce the number of drug related deaths.

    -Short Attention Span Theater-
Why America needs more British pubs
[The New Statesman] It’s springtime in Brighton, which means my day at the coworking space finishes when I hear colleagues remind me it’s sunny outside and ask if I’m joining them down the pub. I’m not, because I’m tired from researching this article about pubs. But I’m sure my walk home will include dodging pavement spillover as Brightonians crowd pubs' outdoor terraces.
The Rose & Crown, Oundle, UK.
This overflow of the somewhat inebriated and sunburned on to busy streets is not something I was familiar with before moving to England. As an American import, I was surprised by how regularly I heard the words "let’s go down the pub" when I first moved here, and instinctively thought the invitations were some sort of weird cultural hazing ceremony from my new band of alcoholic friends. That is until I realised that British pubs are not the same thing as American bars.

(Disclaimer: whenever discussing the difference between two countries, there is a risk of relying on stereotypes to prove a point. I am sure that someone reading this has had an excellent experience in an authentic American bar outside of a major metropolitan area, just as I’m sure another reader actually had a great meal at Hooters. I’m told Hooters has great wings. All the same, for the sake of this article I will be making grand, sweeping generalisations that by no means deliberately attempt to take aim at your local friendly American bartender. Your bartender and bar are great.)

There are some semantic distinctions that need to be made between the words "bar" and "pub".

    The Grand Turk
Turkish inflation hits highest rate since 1998 at 73.5%
It’s expensive to swan around as the regional hegemon. And really, even the confiscated upper middle class riches of the Gulenists will only go so far once they’re firmly imprisoned and no longer earning more in their drive to be the best at whatever they do. After that all that’s left is to go deeper in debt. Again.
[AlAhram] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
's inflation climbed to its highest level since 1998, hitting an annual 73.5 percent in May, official data showed Friday, an issue dogging President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
    ahead of elections next year.

Critics have blamed the country's economic woes on Erdogan's unorthodox economic policy of pushing for lower interest rates to combat price rises.

The central bank refused again last week to raise its main rate, keeping it at 14 percent.

Soaring food and energy prices pushed inflation even higher last month.

Transport prices jumped by 107.6 percent in May while the food was up 91.6 percent.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
pandemic have exacerbated the energy price spikes and production bottlenecks.

With elections looming in June 2023, the opposition and many economists have accused the national statistics agency of deliberately underestimating the magnitude of inflation.

The Inflation Research Group, made up of independent Ottoman Turkish economists, said Friday that inflation actually accelerated by a whopping 160.8 percent, more than twice the official figure.

The statistics agency did not publish the detailed list of prices per product that serves as a basis for its calculations, a move that raised fresh doubts about the accuracy of official figures.

"According to my own observations, the gap between reality and what is measured has widened this month, with the goal of hiding impoverishment," economist Murat Kubilay wrote on Twitter.

    RISK OF 'SYSTEMIC CRISIS'
The country's currency, meanwhile, has lost nearly 48 percent in value over the past year.

The collapse of the lira has pushed up the cost of energy imports and foreign investors are now turning away from the once-promising emerging market.

Rumours of military intervention in northern Syria further hit the value of the Ottoman Turkish lira, which was at 16.49 to the dollar on Friday. The currency has lost nearly 48 percent in value over the past year.

Erdogan's government has responded by using state banks to buy up liras in a bid to cut the currency's losses.

Turkey has cut taxes on some goods and offered subsidies for electricity bills for vulnerable households but even this has failed to stem inflation.

There has also been speculation that the central bank sells dollars to stem the lira's slide.

"If we don't see change in policy the country faces a systemic economic crisis," Timothy Ash, emerging markets strategist at BlueBay Asset Management, said on Twitter.

Sepoy martyred in gun battle after terrorists attack military post in North Waziristan: ISPR
Until the hudna is signed, all is fair. After the hudna is signed, of course, all must sit quietly until the TTP start up again.
[Dawn] A Pakistain Army soldier was martyred during an exchange of fire with holy warriors who attacked a military post in the Datta Khel area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's North Wazoo district on the night between June 1 and June 2, the military's media affairs wing said.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) late Thursday night, Pakistain Army troops "initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the holy warriors location" after the attack on the military post.

During an "intense exchange of fire" with the terrorist, 28-year-old Sepoy Hamid Ali, a resident of Sargodha, embraced martyrdom after fighting "gallantly", the ISPR said.

It added that the sanitisation of the area was being carried out to eliminate any holy warriors found there.

"[The] Pakistain Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers will not go unpunished," the ISPR statement said.

The incident comes merely days after two security personnel and as many children were maimed when a jacket wallah struck a vehicle of the security forces parked at a checkpost in the Razmak subdivision of North Waziristan district on May 30.

According to officials, the suicide bomber riding a cycle of violence had rammed his two-wheeler into the security forces' vehicle. As a result, two security personnel were maimed and two children playing nearby had also suffered injuries.

Two migrant workers injured in Shopian grenade blast

Police on Friday said that two migrant workers were maimed in a grenade blast in the Zainapora area of south Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain.
    ’s Shopian district.

A police front man said that two labourers suffered minor injuries in the blast which took place in the Aglar area.

    -Great Cultural Revolution
The Real Reason Why Mass Shooters Kill
    Thanks to TW and Besoeker.
[AmericanThinker] Tucker Carlson almost said it. He went right up to the edge and then drew back. He wheeled the cannon on stage, but he did not fire it.

Carlson almost blurted out the most taboo truth in Washington, the unutterable heresy that the political class suppresses more ruthlessly than any other. He asked us to consider — after eliminating all the standard leftist cliches and a few rightist ones — why do these young shooters keep committing mass murder? What characteristic do they all share? What is going on here, and why can we not even discuss it?

It seemed almost as if he was inviting someone to say what he could not. So I will oblige him.

The shooters, the mass murderers, even most of the terrorists, and essentially all violent criminals (plus many drug addicts and a majority of the homeless) share this one quality: they are all fatherless.

And no, fatherlessness is not intractable. These destructive and self-destructive adolescents are not victims of impersonal forces that defy remedy — still less of "irresponsible" fathers who "abandon" them, as the political class invariably reports without evidence. These falsehoods provide the politicians with excuses to throw up their hands in despair or devise useless, self-serving programs that actually make the problem worse. The shooters are the products of government policies that intentionally remove children from their fathers and proliferate single-mother homes. They are the offspring of the two hatcheries that breed fatherless children: the welfare state and the divorce industry.

The social science is unequivocal. Virtually every major social pathology can be laid at the door of fatherless homes and communities — not race, not poverty. Single parent homes. That means crime, truancy, addiction, and more single parents.

Decade after decade, the problem only worsens until we are left with not only social chaos, but, increasingly, political chaos, too, and even tyranny. It is easily demonstrable that the BLM riots in 2020 that prepared the way for the leftist takeover of the U.S. government were perpetrated by dysfunctional, violent, and fatherless adolescents.

The problem will certainly not be ameliorated by feel-good palliatives like those implemented by the Clinton and Bush administrations and recently once again enacted in Florida. These programs claim to confront fatherlessness but in reality funnel more money to the welfare apparatchiks and divorce operators so they can create more fatherless children, on which their business depends. So diabolical is the political class in both political parties that it devises measures to exacerbate the problem in the very process of pretending to address it.

How about using the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) published "Key Considerations of the Active Shooter" as a starting point?

There is no one demographic profile of an active shooter.

Many active shooters display observable pre-attack behaviors, which, if recognized, can lead to the disruption of the planned attack.

The pathway to targeted violence typically involves an unresolved real or perceived grievance and an ideation of a violent resolution that eventually moves from thought to research, planning, and preparation.

A thorough threat assessment typically necessitates a holistic review of an individual of concern, including historical, clinical, and contextual factors.

Human bystanders generally represent the greatest opportunity for the detection and recognition of an active shooter prior to his or her attack.

Concerning active shooters, a person who makes a threat is rarely the same as the person who poses a threat.

Successful threat management of a person of concern often involves long-term care taking and coordination between law enforcement, mental health care, and social services.

Exclusionary interventions (e.g., expulsion, termination) do not necessarily represent the end of threat-management efforts.

While not every active shooter can be identified and thwarted prior to attacking, many potential active shooters who appear to be on a trajectory toward violence can be stopped.

I agree, too many walk around with a Smartphone in their Social Media realm, not noticing their surroundings world.

Based on my HRT and profile of hostile threat training. My own observations, likely 85+ out of a 100 would not notice any displayed threatening issues.

Those that did notice would not take the time. Instead, worry about lawsuits and Social Media turning on them using ___ phobia smearings, for report an "IT's" hostile mental illness signs.

What is usually left are those that would whip out a cell phone camera to be the "on the scene" chronicler for their Facebook bud's. Instead, providing basic 1st aid or help.

This latest election year, school shooter displayed how many of the warning signs and how many reported "IT"?

How many of the give or take, 100 present at the scene acted to stop "IT" instead of watch it?

I believe it was just 1 in 100+ that acted, while usual mass majority of others stood around.

#7  #3 NN, I have enjoyed your posts and the perspective you bring to this site, but this is utter nonsense. Perhaps applicable in another manifestly past time but not now.

The swine from Parkland wasn't any ambiguous psychological puzzle to solve, rather he spent years...YEARS telling everybody he ever met and people he already knew his primary ambition was to be a school shooter.

Thus after people saw and heard something they said something in accordance with the great dictum. To what end? Absolutely nothing. They couldn't keep tabs on him since that would be spying. AS IF the alphabet agencies couldn't tell you every and any detail about your life with about 20 minutes notice.

How about that charmer from Virginia Tech. A troubled lad, oh yes very troubled. Let's see now based on his troubled behavior, people changed majors, changed dorms, moved off campus, and left the school altogether. For the big deal of the day when confronted with the loss of tenure if she would not have him in her class, the nice English teacher basically said cram your tenure. Quite the record for somebody who NEVER said an audible word his entire time there.

Again, people sure saw something and everybody not only said something they did so repeatedly, and the result was what again? If only he had used the wrong pronoun, then they would have had him sure.

This is a concept of community policing that arises out of compassion as much as concern is sadly from 'Bedford Falls'. There has to be somebody on the other end of the line who will take substantive action. All the studies and white papers in the world won't do what 5 minutes of common sense could have accomplished in virtually every instance.

I would guess there are two reasons (1) The best and brightest don't seek duty at the schools so the ones onsite lean towards cowards or lazy (2) the ones that arrive later are terrified to the point of paralysis of killing children in the crossfire or being blamed for instigating carnage. I don't think this second group are as concerned with their own safety so much as fear of making it worse, so they plan to talk them down if possible.

Is a Caspian alternative to Russian gas possible?
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
    by Pavel Kukhmirov

    [Sevastopol]
Gazprom will suspend gas supplies to energy companies in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands due to non-payment for April. Deliveries have been stopped for Shell Energy Europe ( Germany), Orsted ( Denmark ), and GasTerra ( Netherlands ), since Gazprom has not received payments from them under the new scheme in rubles. At the same time , the German company Uniper announced that it had made a payment for gas for the first time under the new scheme proposed by Moscow.

Against the backdrop of what is happening in Europe in particular and in the Western world in general, the question of alternative sources of gas and ways to obtain it is periodically raised. The Caspian region in this sense could indeed become an important alternative supplier of energy resources to Europe. But, at a minimum, Brussels itself is pursuing an extremely passive and politicized energy strategy here.

After the collapse of the USSR, there was a feeling that the Caspian had the potential of an alternative to the Persian Gulf in terms of its hydrocarbon reserves. But the arrival of the world's leading oil companies there and the development of new projects showed that such estimates were too optimistic.

As it turned out, hydrocarbon reserves turned out to be much more modest, and the cost of production and transportation is much higher than expected. But Western countries managed to squeeze out Russia and gain access to the largest projects in the region, such as Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shah Deniz (Azerbaijan), as well as Tengiz, Karachaganak, Kashagan (Kazakhstan) . In addition, they are involved in the construction of strategically important alternative pipelines "Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan" and "Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum" bypassing Russia.

But they limited themselves to this: the flow of investments dried up, and new ambitious projects (like the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline from Turkmenistan, bypassing Russia) remained on paper. As a result, Azerbaijan, without the EU, independently implemented the projects of the Trans-Anatolian and Trans-Adriatic pipelines, bringing Azerbaijani gas to the market of southern Europe.
The Ukrainian crisis found the situation exactly like this.

Kazakhstan's projects in the surrounding regions are mainly focused on oil. For the most part, they are tied to contractual obligations with Russia and China, so they do not count.

Azerbaijan, after the launch of the Shah Deniz project and reaching the design capacity of the offshore fields Karabakh and Umid, is already supplying the maximum possible volumes of natural gas: up to 10 billion cubic meters to Turkey and about 10 billion cubic meters to Bulgaria, Greece, Albania and Italy. A slight increase in exports is possible by optimizing the management of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and additional investment in the deepwater part of the Gunashli project.

In addition, additional volumes of gas to the south of the EU could come from Turkmenistan, but the huge investments in infrastructure necessary for the underwater Trans-Caspian pipeline and the increase in production are unlikely to be approved by the European Commission even in the current conditions.

It is possible to add several billion cubic meters per year after the launch of the Azerbaijani-Turkmen border field Dostulug. Theoretically, it is also possible to connect the existing Turkmen fields to the pipeline infrastructure of Azerbaijan. But this also requires active intervention and investment, and Brussels takes the position of an outside observer.

And most importantly: the most important and most serious potential resource of the Caspian could be the unblocking of Iranian exports. But here, at a minimum, it is necessary to restore the nuclear deal with Iran and, most importantly, fulfill the obligations of the Western countries themselves to unfreeze Iranian finances and lift sanctions against Iran. But Europe is not its own mistress here. And few people care about her interests.

We can sum up the following: of course, the Caspian could become a serious alternative to Russia, but for a number of reasons it is impossible to implement this now and will not be possible for a very long time.

Canada protecting Khalistanis, gangsters has become a bane for India’s security
[OneIndia] The killing of Sidhu Moosewala has once again put the spot-light back on Canada.

India has often raised concerns about pro-Khalistan elements operating in Canada.

The Indian High Commission in Ottawa has flagged concerns to the foreign ministry of Canada about the gangster involved in violent mostly peaceful crimes in Punjab. It may be recalled that following the death of Moosewala the Punjab
    1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Police had said that Goldy Brar, a Canadian based member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang who has 16 cases against him in India was involved in the incident. Further Bishnoi's nephew has grabbed credit for the killing of Moosewala.

Post the blast in Ludhiana, the police had found that the same was linked to Lakhbir Singh Landa, who lives in Canada. Landa has 20 cases against him in India.

Last year the National Investigation Agency had filed a chargesheet against four operatives of the Khalistan Tiger Force in connection with cases of assassinations. The probe revealed that accused Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force, a designated terrorist had along with Arshdeep Singh formed a gang and recruited the other accused. Their intention was to threaten and extort money from businessmen based in Punjab. They also effected the assassination to disturb communal harmony in Punjab. Both Nijjar and Singh are currently in Canada.

Prior to this the NIA had filed a chargesheet against operatives of the Khalistan Liberation Force
...Khalistan is the idea of an independent Sikh homeland in the Indian (and Pak, but they don't dwell on that) Punjab. The local troublemakers are financed by the Sikh diaspora, who love the idea of the folks they left behind murdering their neighbours before dying romantically for a hopeless idea, with training and additional funding from Pakistain’s ISI as yet another arrow in their quiver aimed at the Indian throat. The Khalistan Liberation Force, like Antifa, is the umbrella for a bunch of Sikh groups that have engaged in armed struggle® against India since the 1980s...
. It said that the foreign based KLF leadership had recruited, financed and armed a local gangster Sukhmeet Pak and tasked him to execute the killings through his associates.

In May following the Rocket Propelled Grenade attack on the Punjab Police's Intelligence headquarters in Mohali, the police had found that it was the handiwork of the pro-Khalistan outfit Babbar Khalsa and the ISI. The key conspirator had been identified as Lakhvir Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran. He has been in Canada from 2017. Singh a gangster is a close aide of one Harwinder Singh, who was close to Babbar Khalsa International chief, Wadhwa Singh and the ISI.

The anti-India sentiment from Canada is a well known fact. Pro-Khalistan groups such as the Sikhs for Justice have been trying to rake up sentiments and revive the Khalistan movement in Punjab. The biggest concern for the Indian security agencies of late has been the Sikhs for Justice. This proscribed outfit has a strong presence online and has been able to radicalise several persons to fight against the government of India. Last year the NIA widened the ambit of its probe in connection with the Sikhs for Justice (SJF). Sources tell OneIndia that there have been a lot of funds that have been channelised in the past couple of months. Over USD 1 lakh has been collected in the name of the farmer protests, the official cited above said.

In November a team of the National Investigation Agency reached Canada on to probe the funding routes for pro-Khalistan groups which have been instrumental in creating unrest in India. The NIA team also discussed with Canadian authorities the findings of the probe against terror groups such as the Babbar Khalsa International, Khalistan Zindabad Force, Sikhs for Justice and Khalistan Tiger Force.

The day before, Energoatom called all reports about possible scenarios for disconnecting the Zaporizhzhya NPP from the energy system of Ukraine without any grounds: "Energoatom officially declares that today there is only one scenario - this is the stable and reliable operation of the ZNPP in the energy system of Ukraine. economic, political, or security."

11:07 Russia turned to China for help and even tried to put pressure on Beijing, but the Chinese refused to help because of fears of sanctions. According to The Washington Post, citing two anonymous US and Chinese officials, the Kremlin, in particular, demanded that Beijing honor trade commitments made before February 24. But the Chinese side stated that the interests of its own people are more important for it, and therefore the support of the Russian Federation is limited mainly to diplomatic steps - abstaining from voting in the UN Security Council and spreading Kremlin narratives, in particular, about the presence of American biological laboratories in Ukraine.

Sources on both sides claim that Chinese leader Xi Jinping challenged his aides to find ways to help Russia without exposing China to Western sanctions, but that proved nearly impossible.

10:47 Podolyak: "Russia's No. 1 task is to undermine trust between Ukraine and the United States. Ukraine is waging a defensive war and does not plan to use the provided MLRS to attack targets in Russia. Our American partners know where their equipment is used. Any stuff about such intentions - propaganda of the Russian special services.

10:10 Bulgaria will never again negotiate with Gazprom, Deputy Prime Minister Asen Vasilev said. He recalled that the contract with the Russian gas monopolist was supposed to be valid until the end of the year, but the Russians unilaterally stopped deliveries, so further dialogue with such a supplier does not make sense and is even dangerous.

“If we now sign a contract with Gazprom and they stop supplying gas in February, we will be left without gas for industry and without heating for people,” Vasilev answered a question about the resumption of negotiations on energy carriers with Russia from a member of the pro-Russian nationalist party Vazrazhdane.

09:16 British intelligence, after analyzing the results of 100 days of war in Ukraine, notes that the Russian troops failed to achieve their initial goals of capturing Kiev and Ukrainian centers of power. After the failure of the original plan, Moscow adapted it, focusing on the Donbass, where it is now enjoying tactical success. Russian forces have built and maintained momentum and now appear to have the initiative, analysts say.

Russia controls more than 90% of the Lugansk region and is likely to fully establish control in the next two weeks. The RF has achieved these recent tactical successes at the expense of a significant expenditure of resources and the concentration of forces and fire on one part of the overall campaign. At the same time, Russia was unable to create a maneuver or movement on other fronts or directions, all of which went on the defensive.

Compared to the original plan of the Russian Federation, none of the strategic goals was achieved. For Russia to achieve any sort of success, ongoing huge investments and probably a considerable amount of time will be required, intelligence says.

08:29 In May, representatives of the Pentagon visited Ukraine, who studied the captured Russian military equipment, writes The New York Times. According to the publication, experts dismantled Russian ammunition and equipment, including missile guidance systems and laser rangefinders, and found that almost all of them included parts from US and EU companies: microcircuits, printed circuit boards, motors, antennas and others. The publication recalls that since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, supplies of semiconductors from the West to Russia have decreased by 90%.

07:57 The Russians suffered heavy losses in the Popasnyansky direction: units of the 150th motorized rifle division of the 8th combined arms army of the Russian Federation lost at least 50% of their personnel, weapons and equipment. The enemy is demoralized and refuses to take part in hostilities, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning summary .

Fighting continues in the center of Severodonetsk. In the Severodonetsk direction, the Russian invaders continue shelling the positions of the Defense Forces and civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Severodonetsk, Borovskoye, Ustinovka and Lisichansk. Enemy assault aircraft launched airstrikes near Mirnaya Dolina. In addition, in the area of Metelkino and Belogorovka, the enemy tried to conduct assault operations, suffered losses, and retreated to previous positions.

03:33 The American Institute for the Study of War notes that Moscow continues to carry out "inconsistent" occupation activities in southern Ukraine, which confirms both the strong resistance of the Ukrainians and the "probable indecision of the Kremlin about how to integrate the occupied territory."

The report also states that Russian troops continue to prioritize the capture of Severodonetsk at the expense of other lines of advance. The invaders continue to storm Severodonetsk and Lysychansk in order to gain full control over the Lugansk region. In addition, the Russians gradually advanced around Avdiivka.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian counter-offensives in northwestern Kherson Oblast have driven Russian forces back to the eastern bank of the Ingulets River and are likely to continue disrupting Russian land lines along the T2207 highway.

02:40 The mayor of the occupied Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that, according to intelligence, more than 100 Russians "were eliminated by the Melitopol partisan movement and the cooperation of special services." However, he added that the real figure is probably higher.

00:13 UN Deputy Secretary General Martin Griffiths arrived in Moscow for two days to discuss the possibility of exporting grain and other food products from the Black Sea ports of Ukraine, writes Reuters.

00:06 Members of Congress demanded detailed information from the Biden administration on spending funds for military assistance to Ukraine, writes Politico. According to the publication, some lawmakers are already warning that the next aid package could lose the support of Congress if there is no full accounting for funds spent by the Pentagon. Soldier, civilian injured in ongoing Anantnag gunfight

Three Army soldiers and a civilian have been injured in an ongoing shootout at Rishipora area of south Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain.
    ’s Anantnag district on Friday.

A police front man said the soldiers and the civilian received gunshot injuries during the initial exchange of fire and have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.

The exchange of fire was going on when this report was filed.

The encounter broke out this evening after security forces cordoned the area following a tip off about the presence of holy warriors.

Kyiv maintains contact with Azov people - minister
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] The GUR informs about the conditions of detention, food and the possibility of releasing the defenders of Mariupol.

The Ukrainian authorities maintain communication with the captured soldiers of the Azov Battalion through intelligence agents. Minister of the Interior Denis Monastyrsky spoke about this on the air of the telethon on Friday, June 3.
A bit of Ukrainian spycraft legerdemain, I s'pect.
"Today, communication with the captured fighters of the Azov regiment is carried out by our intelligence officers from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. It is through them that we learn more information: about the conditions of detention, food and the possibilities of their release," the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

He expressed his conviction that all Azov residents will be released, as the authorities are doing everything possible for this.

Recall that the defenders of Mariupol have been held captive by the invaders since May 20. Kyiv intends to exchange fighters.

What does the fundamental crisis of Western markets look like?

    By Pavel Kukhmirov

    [Sevastopol]
Producer prices (PPI) in the euro area soared 37.2 percent in April compared to the same month a year earlier. According to Interfax , this is evidenced by the data of the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat). The rise accelerated from 36.9 percent in March and became the highest in the history of the index calculation. At the same time, analysts on average expect an even more significant increase - by 38.5 percent. The peak of inflationary pressure in European countries has not yet been passed, experts say.

Frankly crisis phenomena occur not only in the European market. They erupted throughout the modern West. Not only on it, but on it in the first place. There is an increasing impression that the sanctions served only as a trigger for something that was long overdue.

For example, the US stock market is literally in a fever: the indices of exchange activity have fallen by 20 percent from their November peaks, starting a new long “bearish trend”. And it's not just swings: the S&P 500's current streak of weekly falls is literally the worst since 1932. That is, from the very depths of the Great Depression. And this is just one example, and there are many.

The US financial sector is rammed not only by sanctions wars and record inflation. And adding to the situation of tension is also the inept actions of the US Fed, which raises rates, hoping to somehow keep up with inflation.

At the same time, the head of the Fed, Mr. Powell, is already openly declaring his inability to guarantee a soft landing for the economy. And this can be understood in such a way that the US economy, addicted to cheap money, may simply not be able to withstand the growth of rates and tightening the screws in the monetary sphere.

The ruling Democrats are trying to somehow stop the rise in inflation by passing in Congress an “anti-price hike act,” which allows Biden to declare an “economic emergency” and freeze the prices of some essential goods. The measure for America is simply unprecedented - the "market" no longer decides.

And it is already clear that such a policy in the conditions of American capitalism will instantly lead to a new wave of deficits. The US is already promising fuel shortages this summer, the busiest time of the year for the transportation industry. Which obviously also threatens with a large-scale crisis in the field of truckers, which can simply bring down all logistics.

And now the head of the US Treasury, Yellen, is scaring the entire planet in advance with the prospect of stagflation, accompanied by a collapse in the economy and rising prices. And it also scares the world with hunger, from which 1.5 billion people could suffer. And few doubt that the threats are real. There is nothing surprising in the fact that the current situation in Western markets is compared to the Great Depression. Now the liberal world order is facing a fundamental crisis. The strongest in the last 90 years.

And it may very well be that everything that happens is just the beginning.
