Armed man who sought to kill Brett Kavanaugh arrested near Supreme Court justice's home
[CNBC] A man armed with a handgun, knife, and pepper spray was arrested by police near the Maryland home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, authorities said.

The man told police he was there to kill Kavanaugh, who lives in Chevy Chase, just outside of Washington, D.C. according to authorities.

Kavanaugh’s home, like those of other conservative Supreme Court justices, was the site of protests last month after the leak of a majority draft opinion that would overturn the constitutional right to abortion. That draft was written by Justice Samuel Alito, another conservative.

The man is not from Maryland. He arrived near Kavanaugh’s home in a taxi. Authorities said he was stopped near the residence, but not at it.

The Supreme Court in a statement said: "At approximately 1:50 a.m. today, a man was arrested near Justice Kavanaugh’s residence. The man was armed and made threats against Justice Kavanaugh."

"He was transported to Montgomery County Police 2nd District," according to the Supreme Court."

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan in a statement said that both the U.S. Marshals Service and Montgomery County Police acted "quickly to apprehend the suspect and prevent him from causing any harm."

The Supreme Court is expected in the next several weeks to issue a final decision on a Mississippi abortion law that was the subject of the draft opinion. Wednesday incident occurred hours before the court released a ruling on a case unrelated to abortion.

Montgomery County Police Department did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment. A spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Service said the agency was looking into the arrest.

Security has been tightened at all nine of the justices’ homes since last month, after the unprecedented leak of the draft.

The Department of Justice in mid-May that the Marshals Service is providing "around-the-clock security" at the homes of all nine justices.

A spokesman for the Marshal Service told CNBC that security measures are still in place at the justices’ homes.

Hogan, the Maryland governor, said in a statement that he and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin "will continue to partner with both federal and local law enforcement officials to help ensure these residential areas" where Supreme Court justices live "are secure.

"I call on leaders in both parties in Washington to strongly condemn these actions in no uncertain terms. It is vital to our constitutional system that the justices be able to carry out their duties without fear of violence against them and their families," Hogan said.

Sudden Adult Death Syndrome Aussie style
[GatewayPundit] Australia is famous for its totalitarian COVID restrictions and vaccine mandates. The Deputy Premier of NSW boldly declared that even businesses that accept unvaccinated people will be subject to exceptionally heavy fines back in 2021.

Australia’s Northern Territory has officially imposed an authoritarian lockdown on citizens who have not been ’fully vaccinated’ against Covid-19 as officials scrambled to deal with the highly-mild Omicron variant back in January. Any individual w16 or older and who was not fully vaccinated will not be able to leave their homes until the middle of next week, even if it’s to go to work or to get exercise outdoors.

Now the country is confronting an epidemic of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. The syndrome is striking down healthy and active young people in Australia.

The Daily Mail reported:

People aged under 40 are being urged to have their hearts checked because they may potentially be at risk of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

The syndrome, known as SADS, has been fatal for all kinds of people regardless of whether they maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle.

SADS is an ’umbrella term to describe unexpected deaths in young people’, said The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, most commonly occurring in people under 40 years of age.

The US-based SADS Foundation has said that over half of the 4,000 annual SADS deaths of children, teens or young adults have one of the top two warning signs present.

International-UN-NGOs
UN Funded Invasion
[Federalist] AUSTIN, Texas — During a recent trip to a Reynosa, Mexico migrant camp, I took photos of a United Nations-supported International Organization for Migration (IOM) operation to hand out cash debit cards to intending and repeat border crossers.

One of two workers at a plastic folding table inside the Reynosa camp, which was filled to capacity with at least 1,200 mostly U.S.-expelled Central Americans, said they were distributing the cards for IOM to help migrants waiting until they cross the Rio Grande at greater leisure to claim asylum, for which most will be declared ineligible years later. Many parents, for instance, got about $400 every 15 days, I was told, or $800 a month if they were still there to collect it, although the support level varied.
Much more at the link. We need to quit financing the UN.

Mexican President Vows to Influence American Elections
[OffthePress] Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador expressed he would be willing to influence the rhetoric surrounding the U.S. midterm elections if any candidate were to speak poorly about Mexicans, while speaking on his desire about the U.S. reforming its immigration system.

"We are not going to allow Mexican migrants to be questioned in campaigns to supposedly win votes, we do not accept xenophobia, we do not accept racism," he said at a May 20 press conference, referencing the U.S. November elections. He noted that his policy is "non-intervention and self-determination."

Wisconsin school district drops sexual harassment probe into 3 students accused of using the wrong pronouns
[FoxNews] A Wisconsin school district is closing a Title IX inquiry into three middle school students accused of sexual harassment for using improper pronouns.

"We have issued clear directives and expectations to all students involved in this matter for the purpose of preventing bullying and harassment and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all of our students," Kiel School District said. "Based on these actions, and pursuant to District policies and procedures, the School District considers this matter closed."

The students subject to the Title IX inquiry were represented by a conservative legal group called the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty.

"We are pleased that the Kiel Area School District has finally ended its misguided Title IX investigation," the group said. "While the District’s statement attempts to reframe the investigation, it was always primarily about ‘mispronouning.’"

Title IX prohibits sexual harassment at schools that receive federal funding and demands schools facilitate an environment free from sex-based discrimination. It states: "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

"The District may not be willing to admit it publicly, but it has recognized that it has no legal basis to demand that our clients refrain from 'mispronouning' other student," the legal group continued.

Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty also said it will ensure the inquiry is erased from the students' academic records.

"We wish they would have dismissed it right away – that could and should have happened," said an attorney with the legal group. "I don’t know why they took two weeks to dismiss it, but we’re glad they finally did.".

Following the Title IX inquiry, the district was plagued with bomb threats.

"Over the last several weeks, our school district and community have been greatly impacted by media attention related to a complaint involving harassment," the district said.

Local police will continue to collaborate with the FBI and the Wisconsin Department of Justice to investigate the threats, according to Fox 11.

Florida: Haiti's Special Olympics team mysteriously vanishes, leaves behind all luggage
[FoxNews] Florida authorities are investigating the mysterious disappearance of several members of Haiti’s Special Olympics delegation who are missing after they checked into their hotel room in Osceola County on Monday and were not seen again.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office identified six members of the Haitian Special Olympics soccer team who have not been seen since around 2:30 p.m. at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the Orlando Sentinel reported. Osceola County is located just south of Orlando, Florida.

The individuals are Atione Joseph Mithon, 32; Nicholson Fontilus, 20; Peter Mianovich Berlus, 19; Anderson Petit-Frere, 18; Steevenson Jacquet, 24 and Oriol Jean, 18, WFTV in Orlando reported.

The Special Olympics USA Games released a statement later on Monday, saying five of the six missing individuals were not athletes and did not have a disability. The sixth has an intellectual disability, per the report.

Osceola County police do not suspect foul play.

While there is no indication the missing Haitian Nationals desired residency in the U.S., WFTV reports the number of Haitians who have attempted to illegally enter the U.S. tripled from 2020 to 2021.

The Human Rights Watch reported last year that political instability in Haiti's government has caused it to struggle to meet even citizens' basic needs. "Haiti is facing one of its worst outbreaks of violence since 1986," the report added.

[NYPOST] An Iranian scientist who was developing top-secret missiles and drones mysteriously died after a dinner party.

Ayoob Entezari reportedly returned home after the party with food poisoning symptoms and later died in the hospital.
Seems like instead of infrastructure, Someone (cough, cough) is going after the personnel
Other reports suggested Entezari was assassinated by Mossad, the Israeli national intelligence agency.

The judicial authorities of Yazd Province, however, said Dr. Entezari was just an ordinary employee of an industrial company and died in the hospital due to “illness”.
Long list of other sudden deaths in recent years of key Iranian personnel can be read at the link.

#12  These things do happen. His first few months in Egypt, Mr. Wife alternated between food poisoning and dysentery until he gave up eating meat — even from the fancy restaurants of the Mena House hotel — and then anything washed and uncooked. But his last attack of food poisoning followed a private dinner party hosted by colleague’s wife in Geneva, and his last attack of dysentery probably resulted from breathing the dust after he landed in Mumbai, before he either ate or drank.

Or it could have been poison. Those Persians are as subtle as Byzantines, ‘tis said.

Biden Administration Quietly Raised Amount of Ethanol Required in Summer Blend Gasoline from Ten Percent to Fifteen
[ConservativeTreehouse] Last Friday the Biden administration raised the mandatory amount of biofuel, specifically ethanol, that must be blended within the U.S. gasoline supply. The previous amount of 10% (summer blend) was raised to a year-round 15% (waiver) by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This is likely to lead to two sets of bigger issues, less food and higher gas prices.

♦ First issue. – The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is a government mandate, passed in 2005 and expanded in 2007, that requires growing volumes of biofuels to be blended into U.S. transportation fuels like gasoline and diesel every year. Approximately 40 percent of corn grown in the U.S. is used for ethanol. Raising the amount of ethanol required in gasoline will result in the need for more biofuel (corn). With farming costs and outputs already under pressure this could be problematic.

♦ Second issue – The EPA enforces the biofuel standard by requiring refineries to submit purchase credits (known as Renewable Identification Numbers, or RINs) to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proving the purchases. This enforcement requirement sets up a system where the RIN credits are bought and sold by small refineries who do not have the infrastructure to do the blending process. They purchase second-hand RIN credits from parties that blended or imported biofuels directly. This sets up a secondary income stream, a trading market for the larger oil companies, refineries and importers.

The RIN credit trading platform is similar to what we might expect to see if the ‘Carbon Trading’ scheme was ever put into place. However, now that summer biofuel requirements for blended gasoline have gone from 10% to 15%, the price of the RIN credits will likely jump. This will cost refineries billions in additional expenses,…. which will mean the cost of the gasoline from the refineries will increase,….. which will mean the cost of the gasoline at the pump will go higher.

♦ Third Issue – “Ethanol is a valuable source of octane in finished gasoline, but it is chemically different than petroleum gasoline and cannot be used in concentrations above 10 percent in small engines — like outboard boat motors, motorcycles, lawnmowers, generators or chain saws — or in any cars made before 2001. Complicating matters further, most cars on the road today still aren’t warrantied to run on gasoline with more than 10 percent ethanol. Retail stations also must have compatible infrastructure in order to sell gasoline with higher ethanol blends.” This issue is known within the industry as “The Blend Wall.”

The net result of Joe Biden’s EPA raising the mandatory amount of biofuel that must be present in the U.S. gas supply is this:

(1) Less food as more corn is needed for ethanol.

(2) Higher prices for finished and blended gasoline.

(3) Vehicle engines breaking down at a much higher rate.

By Law/reg., the Gas Pumps have to be labeled "may contain up to __% ..."

We have not seen 1 station around us change the WARNING stickers to read 15%, since the announcement 3+ weeks ago. Atlanta had a 18+/- hr "maintenance" shutdown several weeks ago for prep work and South GA had spotty outages. But still no 15% yet.

NOTE: By adding 50% more alcohol to gas it reduces Corn feed and food to even lower safety margin levels.

#5  Most places where marine engines are common have stations selling ethanol-free gas. I expect I'll be adding enough of it to my tank at fill up time to keep the ethanol percentage to 10%. It will cost more, but still much less than a new engine.

#6  This will wreak havoc with the small engines used for lawnmowers, chainsaws, chippers, etc.

You really shouldn't be using ethanol fuel (of any percentage) in those small engines, anyway. Ethanol can damage the plastic and rubber parts in small high-rpm engines resulting in carburetor failure, higher running temperatures, and/or total engine failure.

How many tons of carbon dioxide is released in the production of corn? How many more dollars will it cost? Economy
Inflation and Global Food Prices-Peter Zeihan
Americans are currently struggling with inflation and certain categories, like fuel prices, get an outsized amount of attention. It makes sense. There are few products people buy as frequently that have as volatile a pricing scheme. It's also universal. In a car-driven society, the pain at the pump is a metric most people are aware of.

But inflation certainly doesn't stop there. Everything gets more expensive. But for many items, like cars and kitchen cabinets, purchases are typically few and far between. In terms of social and political stability globally, food prices are something that I find much more concerning.

The United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organization does amazing work tracking global food prices and agricultural trends. They do work on par with the USDA, and I consider both to be preeminent sources of information in their field on the topic of American/global agriculture. And they publish their information for free.

The FAO publishes monthly updates to global food prices. The picture is...not good. We've seen global food inflation drop a couple ticks in April and May of 2022 due to some softening in global oilseed markets (Indonesia has relaxed their palm oil export ban a bit, and we've seen some declining demand for oil seeds due to price) but the overall picture is still one of a stark increase in food costs. It's a product of both an overall global inflationary environment, and a series of shortages due to conflict and poor weather (like the challenges facing Ukraine's grain exports).

2021, shown as the orange line, saw a pretty steady and straightforward increase in food prices between January and December, well over 2020 (in pink). 2022 is the aggressive, near-vertical line in red. The flattening out we see is again in large part due to some relaxation in food oil prices, but the news is certainly not good for global consumers. (And all of us in that bucket!)

If you want to break costs down into primary commodity groups, the FAO has you covered there as well. Peek at the second chart. Vegetable oils, the top line in green, is showing the greatest year-on-year increase. But prices have risen steadily across all globally traded commodity groups like cereals (including wheat) and dairy. We'll have to see how the sugar harvest plays out in Brazil this year, but meat prices are also slowly but steadily inching upwards--as much a product of rising feed import costs as it is growing demand for poultry and fears over a widening avian flu epidemic.

All of which represent a more expensive global food price environment. Large importers of food like Egypt are already scrambling and, according to some, purchasing Russian cargoes of stolen Ukrainian wheat. This is an issue that the US is starting to take seriously. And for countries dependent on food aid, like Syria and Yemen? Challenges abound, to say the least. While this is only one part of the global inflation story, it is one that most people globally will feel most acutely.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Child Playing In Meadow Stung By Fish
[Babylon Bee Fish] YOSEMITE VALLEY, CA—A young child was stung by a fish Tuesday while frolicking through a meadow in Yosemite National Park. The three-year-old girl, daughter of George and Shelly Quicken, allegedly provoked the wild fish when she began picking flowers for her mother.

The Quicken family was surprised to see a fish in the middle of a meadow and even more surprised when it stung the young girl.

"I've never seen a fish move like that," said Shelly Quicken. "It was FLYING!"

"Now I see it every time I close my eyes. It flies through my nightmares," she wept.

George Quicken admitted he thought the whole thing was a joke until he saw the stinger in his daughter's thumb. He acted quickly, plucking out the stinger with a pair of tweezers and preserving the evidence for marine biologists.

"I don't understand it!" he insisted. "Climate change must have forced an early evolution. Now they are invading the land. Soon, they could be anywhere."

Park rangers say the fish was black and yellow in appearance and capable of flying through the air at an incredible speed. Unlike other fish, it is actually repelled by water, which means it could be anywhere at any time.

"Listen, it's called a bee," said Ranger Tetradomadon. "Some court classified them as fish to put them on an endangered list, but they're just bees. Ya'll need to relax!"

The Quicken daughter was hospitalized out of an abundance of caution due to her history of fish allergies. Curiously, doctors claim to have seen no allergy symptoms present themselves.

At publishing time, rangers have had to shoo fishermen away from the park's meadows. No Fishing signs now blanket the otherwise grand landscape of the majestic national park.

Overdoing it with rape
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] Former Ombudsman of Ukraine Lyudmila Denisova commented on her stories about "atrocious" rapes.

She said that when she spoke in the Italian Parliament, she saw fatigue from Ukraine. And so she began to compose fairy tales in order to somehow push Italy to make decisions that Ukraine and the Ukrainian people need.

“Maybe I went too far. But I was trying to achieve the goal of convincing the world to provide weapons and put pressure on Russia,” the ex-ombudswoman said.

In principle, this is all you need to know about "raped Ukraine".

Database of foreign mercenaries fighting in Ukraine

ForeignCombatants.ru
is our database of foreign mercenaries and volunteers taking part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine war" in Ukraine. Although there are enough veterans in the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine, the vast majority are airsoft players and e-sportsmen.

Despite the huge number of publications in foreign media about the hard lot of mercenaries in Ukraine, no one has yet thought of creating a single public database to show the scale of the disaster.

Together with the @vatfor project, we did this: with the help of volunteers, we collect, catalog and translate information into foreign languages.

The purpose of the ForeignCombatants.ru project is to convince adventurers to abandon the role of "cannon fodder" and show how the Ukrainian authorities simply use them all.

If you want to join the volunteer team and help, you are welcome: write to @fcomb_bot

Top Los Angeles law enforcement officials have warned District Attorney George Gascon this week that he will be “next” to be thrown out of office following the successful recall effort against San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin.

Boudin, a former public defender in one of America’s most liberal cities, was recalled Tuesday after 60% of the city’s voters objected to his soft-on-crime policies — as lawbreaking runs rampant in the Bay Area city.

Both prior to and shortly after the recall vote, one of Gascon’s own prosecutors and the Los Angeles County sheriff indicated the top prosecutor — one of Boudin’s predecessors as San Francisco DA — would face a similar fate.

“I think tomorrow Boudin is going to be recalled, and what I want to tell everybody and tell [Los Angeles DA] George Gascon is, you’re next,” Deputy District Attorney Jon Hatami told Fox News on Monday. “The people of Los Angeles have had enough.”

Karnataka: 24 students suspended from Uppinangady college for wearing hijab to class
[OneIndia] At least 24 students were suspended at a college after they protested against the Hijab ban outside the Government First Grade College, Uppinangady in Dakshina Kannada district. The students even boycotted the classes in protest against the ban.

The college committee decided to suspend the protesting students for not following the guidelines. A few days back, 7 students were suspended in a similar protest.

The Puttur BJP MLA and the College Development Committee (CDC) chairman Sanjeeva Matandoor told PTI on Tuesday, "The students staged a demonstration. So they were suspended on Monday."

According to PTI sources, last week the girls came to the college in Puttur Taluk of Dakshina Kannada district wearing Hijab and protested demanding permission to wear the headscarf. The CDC met on Monday and decided to suspend them.

The panel had suspended seven girl students for coming to the college with Hijab.

The girls have been insisting upon wearing Hijab despite the Karnataka High Court ruling in March this year on the issue that head scarf is not an essential religious practice in Islam and everyone should abide by the uniform dress rule in the educational institutions wherever there is a dress code.

The court also upheld the Karnataka government's order which banned any cloth inside the education institutions that can disturb peace and public order.

The ruling came after a few girl students from a government pre-university college in the coastal district of Udupi approached the High Court after they were banned from attending classes with Hijab as some Hindu students in protest started coming to the college wearing saffron stoles.

The issue had sparked agitations by a section of students with saffron stoles versus Hijab row making headlines in parts of Karnataka earlier this year.

To control the situation, the Government had shut schools and colleges in Karnataka for a week in February.

Philippine troops kill regional Islamic State spokesman
[BenarNews] Filipino government forces killed a man identified as the front man for the East Asia branch of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
krazed killer group during a raid in the southern Philippines, military officials said Tuesday.

Troops and intelligence units carried out the "special operation" on Monday near Datu Saudi Ampatuan, a town in Maguindanao province, that led to "the death of Abdulfatah Omar Alimuden, a.k.a. Abu Huzaifah," the military said in a statement.

"Aside from being the spokesperson of the ISIS-EA, Abu Huzaifah was also in charge of the financial transactions of the Daulah Islamiyah-Philippines to the ISIS Central," the military said, using an acronym for the East Asia branch of Islamic State and also referring to the Filipino branch of IS.

Troops with the Army’s 601st Brigade, 40th Infantry Battalion and military intelligence units took part in the operation. They launched it based on witness information that the suspect was in a vehicle transporting materials to construct a madrassa, according to authorities.

The military’s Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom), based in Zamboanga city, declined to give more information.

"We are limiting the information about it because of an ongoing operation which we cannot divulge to the media. ... I don’t want to pre-empt our follow-up operation. There are key personalities that we are going after," Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario Jr., the WestMinCom chief, told news hounds.

"That’s all we can say for now, that we conducted a military operation and we neutralized Abdulfatah Omar Alimuden, alias Abu Huzaifah," he said.

Rosario could not immediately say how many IS turbans remained in the country.

"I’m not sure as to their number but definitely they are small. Compared to one or two years ago, they’re smaller. ... Our effort is continuing to end this terrorist group," Rosario said of IS in the Philippines.

Alimuden, a native of Maguindanao, had a second role with IS while serving as the East Asia group’s front man, according to Maj. Andrew Linao, the military’s regional front man.

"He was also the finance officer. The suspect appeared to occupy a high position because he was the conduit in the transfer of financial support to the IS and at the same time considered as a high value target," Linao said.

"The neutralization is a big blow to IS especially in this part of the region and the operation prevented the group from wreaking havoc."

In May 2017, hundreds of local pro-IS fighters, backed by cohorts from elsewhere in Asia and from the Middle East, laid siege to the southern Philippine city of Marawi, transforming it into a battle zone. They intended to turn the lakeside town into the IS caliphate in the Southeast Asian region.

The United States and Australia assisted the Filipino army with intelligence information that helped Philippine government forces bomb IS strongholds around the city, finally dislodging the group on Oct. 23, 2017, after a five-month battle.

The bombings destroyed much of the city. Nearly five years later, many parts remain off limits because the military has not recovered unwent kaboom! ordnance.

over its lack of cooperation with the agency, two diplomats said Tuesday.

"The text was submitted overnight" from Monday to Tuesday, a European diplomat told AFP. A second diplomat confirmed the news.

The resolution urging Iran to cooperate fully with the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) marks the first time since June 2020 when a similar motion censuring Iran was adopted.

It is a sign of growing Western impatience after talks to revive the 2015 landmark nuclear accord with Iran stalled in March.

The vote is likely to happen on Thursday during the week-long meeting of the IAEA's 35-member Board of Governors, one of the diplomats said.

In a report late last month, the IAEA said it still had questions that were "not clarified" regarding traces of enriched uranium previously found at three sites, which Iran had not declared as having hosted nuclear activities.

IAEA head Rafael Grossi told news hounds on Monday after opening the board meeting that he hoped "to solve these things once and for all".

The negotiations to revive the accord started in April 2021 with the aim of bringing the United States back into the deal, lifting sanctions and getting Iran to scale back its stepped-up nuclear program.

The deal -- promising Tehran sanctions relief in exchange for curbs in its nuclear program -- started to fall apart in 2018 when the then U.S. president Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
withdrew from it.

Iranian foreign ministry front man Saeed Khatibzadeh told state TV on Monday that Iran would reject the resolution, saying it would have "a negative impact both on the general direction of our cooperation with the IAEA and on our negotiations".

China and Russia -- who with Britannia, La Belle France and Germany are parties to the Iran nuclear deal -- have warned that any resolution could disrupt the negotiation process.

"Russia will not associate itself with such a resolution," Russia's ambassador to the U.N. in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said in a tweet late Monday.

Analysts say the high stakes negotiations are unlikely to fall apart because of the resolution.

Lebanese army arrests 64 migrants trying to sail to Europe Lebanese migrants
[AlAhram] The Lebanese military arrested 64 migrants as they were trying to set sail from northern Lebanon on Tuesday in an attempt to get to Europe, the army command said.

According to an army statement, the migrants, Lebanese, Syrians and Palestinians, were all detained and were being questioned, except for one pregnant woman who was bleeding and was taken to hospital.

The migrants were apparently taken into custody before their boat was able to set sail. They were apprehended near the Sheikh Znad area, a few kilometres (miles) from the northern city of Tripoli.

The attempt came weeks after a boat carrying more than 60 migrants capsized on April 23 off the coast of Tripoli, Lebanon's second-largest and most impoverished city.

Seven bodies were recovered in that disaster, with 47 people rescued and some still missing. Survivors at the time blamed the Lebanese navy for causing the accident by ramming into the migrants' boat.

For years, Lebanon had been a country where refugees fled, but since its economic meltdown began in late 2019, thousands of people have left the country by sea, seeking a better life in Europe.

Lebanon is a small nation of 6 million people, including 1 million Syrian refugees who fled the war in their country which erupted in 2011. Lebanon is also home to tens of thousands of Palestinians, most of them descendants of people displaced after Israel was created in 1948.

Migrants usually pay thousands of dollars to smugglers who promise to take them on boats to European Union member states such as Cyprus, Greece and Italy.

Prophet remark row: Al-Qaeda threatens suicide attacks in Delhi, Mumbai, UP, Gujarat
[OneIndia] Dreaded terrorist group Al Qaeda has issued a threat saying that it would launch suicide kabooms in Delhi, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat
...where rioting seems to be a traditional passtime...
to "fight for the dignity of our Prophet".

The terror outfit's threat came in response to derogatory comments at Prophet by Nupur Sharma, now suspended BJP spokesperson.

"We shall kill those who affront our Prophet and we shall bind explosives with our bodies and the bodies of our children to blow away the ranks of those who dare to dishonour our Prophet... The saffron bully boyz should now await their end in Delhi, Bombay, UP and Gujarat," the letter, which went viral on social media stated.

"They shall find refuge neither in their homes nor in their fortified army cantonments, May our mothers be bereaved of us if we do not average our beloved Prophet," it said.

"We shall fight for the dignity of our Prophet, we shall urge others to fight and die for the honour of our Prophet," the statement further said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wine tasting, Vince was about to start on his third quart...
Maharashtra Police on Tuesday asked Nupur Sharma to appear before them on June 22 to record her statement in connection with her alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad.

The BJP had on Sunday suspended Sharma over her alleged insulting remarks against Prophet Muhammad that drew condemnation from several Islamic nations.

Stepping up pressure for legal action against Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal, opposition parties on Monday demanded that they be arrested for their controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad and accused the BJP of denting the image of the country.

While the ruling party faced more criticism at home, the diplomatic fallout of the row continued as Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
, Bahrain, Indonesia, Jordan, UAE and Afghanistan joined several Moslem nations in condemning the controversial remarks.

Nigeria church 'terror' attack death toll climbs to 22
[AlAhram] Authorities in southwest Nigeria's Ondo state said Tuesday that 22 people were killed and 58 others were maimed in a recent attack by button men at a church.

The violence at St. Francis Catholic Church in the city of Owo during Sunday mass was a rare assault in a region usually considered safer than others in the country, and drew widespread international condemnation.

"Hospitals in Owo were filled with the injured, most of who were at death's doors... Unfortunately the corpse count is 22," Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said in a broadcast, adding that 56 people were still in hospital and two had been discharged.

"The most unfortunate part is the lives of innocent children cut down in their prime and some severely injured by the mindless attackers," he added.

The governor described the button men responsible for the "vile and satanic attack" as "blood thirsty terrorists".

Police had said earlier that the button men hid among the worshippers inside the church and also opened fire on the congregation through the windows from outside.

"Investigations revealed that some of the button men disguised as congregants, while other gunnies who had positioned themselves around the church premises from different directions, fired into the church," the police said in a statement.

Fragments of explosives and three unwent kaboom! improvised bombs were found at the scene.

Father Andrew Abayomi who conducted the service told AFP that some worshippers managed to close the church door and hide in the vestry with others, including children, for about 20 minutes before emerging to scenes of carnage.

Two days later, the anger is still palpable in Owo, the governor said, urging residents not to take the law into their own hands.

"I can assure you that security operatives have been deployed to monitor and restore normality to Owo," he added.

The state has declared a seven-day mourning period and ordered the national flag to be flown at half-mast in Ondo.

Pope Francis
...Argentine liberation theologist, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio. He was elected pope in 2013. Rather than setting up shop in Avignon, where he belongs, the first Jesuit Pope chose to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse instead of the papal apartments. He is big on climate change, against consumerism, and in favor of throwing a blanket over homosexual activity (so to speak) within the clergy. He's not real sure about the Resurrection, about Christ's divinity, and a few other things that would have gotten him burned at the stake a few hundred years ago, but he's hot for a certain South American Earth Mother Goddess...
was "deeply saddened" by the "horrible attack", his number two, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, wrote in a telegram to the bishop of Ondo. The pope assures "all those who are affected by this unspeakable act of violence of his spiritual closeness", he said.

The attack came a day before Nigeria's ruling APC party started primaries for its candidate in the 2023 election to replace Muhammadu Buhari, who steps down next year after two terms in office.

Security will be a major challenge for whoever wins the race to govern Africa's most populous country and the continent's largest economy.

Nigerian security forces are battling jihadist groups in the northeast, criminal gangs in the northwest and centre and separatist stirrings in the southeast, among other challenges.

There has been no claim of responsibility for Sunday's attack.

Fifth Column
General John Allen turns out to be a Qatari asset.
[Twitter]

General John Allen, president of the Brookings Institute
John Rutherford Allen assumed the presidency of the Brookings Institution in November 2017, having most recently served as a distinguished fellow in the Foreign Policy Program at Brookings. Allen is a retired U.S. Marine Corps four-star general and former commander of the NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and U.S. Forces in Afghanistan. He is the co-author of the book Turning Point: Policymaking in the Era of Artificial Intelligence alongside co-author Darrell M. West (Brookings Press, 2020). He is also the co-author of Future War and the Defence of Europe alongside LTG (Ret.) Frederick “Ben” Hodges and Professor Julian Lindley French (Oxford University Press, 2021).

Allen served in two senior diplomatic roles following his retirement from the Marine Corps. First, for 15 months as senior advisor to the secretary of defense on Middle East Security, during which he led the security dialogue for the Israeli/Palestinian peace process. President Barack Obama then appointed Allen as special presidential envoy to the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, a position he held for 15 months. Allen’s diplomatic efforts grew the coalition to 65 members, effectively halting the expansion of ISIL. In recognition of this work, he was presented the Department of State Distinguished Honor Award by Secretary John Kerry and the Director of National Intelligence Distinguished Public Service Award by Director James Clapper.

During his nearly four-decade military career, Allen served in a variety of command and staff positions in the Marine Corps and the Joint Force. He commanded 150,000 U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan from July 2011 to February 2013. Allen is the first Marine to command a theater of war. During his tenure as ISAF commander, he recovered the 33,000 U.S. surge forces, moved the Afghan National Security Forces into the lead for combat operations, and pivoted NATO forces from being a conventional combat force into an advisory command. In Iraq, he served as Deputy Commander of Multinational Force – West, during the intense combat operations in the western desert of Al Anbar Province in 2007. Working closely with the Anbari tribes, he was a principal facilitator in the emergence of the Awakening (Sahawa) Movement of tribes of Al Anbar, which led to the defeat of Al Qaeda and other insurgent forces in Iraq’s largest province.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Complete Coincidence? At Least 7 Large Farm Fires Occur in US in Last 10 Days
[Western Journal] There were seven major farm fires in the United States over a recent 10-day period.

In the big picture, they were for the most part relatively small-scale events. But with reports of so many fires at food production facilities, you can’t help but notice.

Coincidence? It could be. But it does get your attention.

A barn in Hanover Township, Ohio, burned Monday. Officials initially were concerned that a person was in the burning structure but found no people or animals inside, according to the Butler County Journal-News.

Saturday was a North Smithfield, Rhode Island, horse farm fire. Thankfully, none of the 40 horses was injured, but it was the second fire at the site in two days — a blaze Thursday destroyed a horse ring, WJAR-TV in Providence reported.

#1  A stack of green hay bales will spontaneously burst into flames if tightly stacked in a barn too soon before it has had a chance to dry out which is a common occurance early summer during hay cutting season.

#2  Every farmer has heard stories of someone affected by a hay fire. It certainly isn’t a minor incident since it can damage property and threaten lives. While hay fires can occur during transportation, they are more likely to be caused by spontaneous combustion once the bales are at the farm.

Actually, wet hay is more likely to lead to spontaneous combustion than dry hay. If wet hay with more than 22% moisture is stored in a barn or stacked then the risk of spontaneous combustion is increased. Further, the wet hay loses in forage quality.

When the internal temperature of hay rises above 130 degrees Fahrenheit (55 degrees C) it provokes a chemical reaction producing flammable gases that can ignite. Most hay fires occur within 6-weeks of baling. Heating occurs in all hay above 15% moisture, but generally peaks at 125 to 130 degrees F within three to seven days with a minimal risk of combustion or forage quality loss. In the next 15 to 60-days depending on stack density, external temperatures, humidity and rainfall the internal temperature will decline to a safe level.

I built a compost box three years ago, 1 cubic yard in volume, with pressurized 2" x 6" lumber. I got a temperature of 148 Fahrenheit a day after I loaded it, and the most recent batch (which I fucked up) still got a temp. of 126 F after a few days. Anything above 140 F and held for at least 24 hours will kill all seeds (crabgrass & other crap) and most pathogens.

The temperatures are caused by the nitrogen in the fresh grass (or hay, etc.) being released and interacting with the dead shit (carbon fuel). A small amount of water (sponge wet is how I've seen it described) helps with this decomposition process. Anything above 150 F can and will cause a fire.

Police crack down on individuals in touch with Pak-based terrorists: Officials
Always a good thing.

found to be in contact with terrorist commanders based in Pakistain, officials said today.

"J&K Police both in Kashmir and Jammu division have raided the residences and work places of such people and investigations with regard to the level of their involvement are underway," an official said. "As on today dozens of suspects have been picked up across J&K, " he said.

As per the official, DGP J&K Dilbag Singh has passed "unambiguous and very strong directions to all formations that anyone found in touch with any such entity in Pakistain or in any other country should be taken to task and the policy of zero tolerance of such anti-national activity has to be more strictly imposed".

The arrests come amid a fresh spate of murders in Kashmir. As per officials many murders and other terrorist crimes have been instigated from across the border using local hybrid terrorists.

"Some of those based in Pakistain like Sajad Gul, Ashiq Nengroo, Arjumand Gulzar etc. have been notified and designated as turbans by Ministry of Home Affairs under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

These terrorist handlers who are based in Pakistain are involved in serious terror crimes and as well motivating and inciting the young gullible boys to join terror ranks to commit terror crimes, " said the official.

Yeah, not to mention all the children. I'm thinking some form of public assistance just to keep them fed, clothed and housed. But then he has to figure out kitchen duties, shopping, bathroom schedules, who gets to drive the car(s), etc., etc., etc.

Summer 1919. Denikin's offensive
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Oleg Airapetov

[Regnum] The consequences of the weakening of the Red Army in the Denikin direction soon manifested themselves in full force. In May 1919, the Volunteer Army took control of the Donbass. Having repulsed the counterattack of the Southern Front, it began to move up and down the Dnieper. At the end of the month, Makhno betrayed the Bolsheviks. Grigoriev's rebellion only delayed the inevitable conflict for a while. Trotsky had a negative attitude towards the anarchist movement in Ukraine.

India-Pakistan
Varanasi blasts: Terrorist Waliullah Khan sentenced to death
[OneIndia] A local court on Monday sentenced terror convict Waliullah Khan to death for serial blasts in Varanasi that killed at least 20 people 16 years back.

District Sessions Judge Jitendra Kumar Sinha convicted Khan on Saturday but had held back the pronouncement on the quantum of punishment for the blasts in 2006 at Varanasi's Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple and a railway station.

On Monday, Khan was brought to the district court from Dasna Jail under tight security, overseen by a deputy superintendent of police.

The court also sentenced Khan to life imprisonment on an attempt to murder charge and ordered him to pay fines. The death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
will have to be confirmed by the Allahabad High Court.

A special task force had claimed in 2006 that Khan was linked to Bangladesh-based terror outfit Harkat-ul-Jehad al-Islami
...(HuJI), along with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) one of the Deobandi jihad groups set up by Pakistan’s ISI to drive the Soviets out of Afghanistan, after which the Bangladeshi branch sent Al Qaeda big turban Muhammad Ilyas Kashmiri to lead its Jammu & Kashmir effort. After he met an inquisitive American Predator, some Taliban big turban took over the assignment. HuJI not only lends personnel to LeT and JeM, but provided ministers to the first Taliban government as well...
and was the criminal mastermind behind the blasts.

The first blast took place at 6.15 pm on March 7, 2006 inside the crowded Sankat Mochan temple in the Lanka cop shoppe area. After 15 minutes, a bomb went kaboom! outside the first-class retiring room at Varanasi Cantonment railway station.

At least 20 people were killed and about 100 injured in the two explosions.

The same day, a pressure cooker bomb was also found near the railings of a railway crossing in Dashashwamedh cop shoppe area.

Khan was convicted in two cases lodged under the Indian Penal Code sections of murder and attempt to murder, and under the Explosives Act, district government counsel Rajesh Sharma earlier told PTI.

He was acquitted in a third case due to lack of evidence, he said.

Lawyers in Varanasi had refused to plead the case and the Allahabad High Court transferred it to the Ghaziabad district court.

In all three cases, 121 witnesses were produced before the court.

US State Department accuses UN of singling Israel out in its COI
[JPost] The United Nations released a Commission of Inquiry that blamed Israel for the ongoing conflict with the Palestinians.

The US State Department responded on Tuesday to an initial report by the United Nations' highly contentious Commission of Inquiry, which charged that Israel is largely to blame for its conflict with the Palestinians, saying that "the COI in its current form is a continuation of a longstanding pattern of unfairly singling out Israel"

"As we have stated repeatedly, we firmly oppose the open-ended and vaguely defined nature of the UN Human Rights Council’s (HRC) Commission of Inquiry (COI) on the situation in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, which represents a one-sided, biased approach that does nothing to advance the prospects for peace," said Ned Price, the State Department Spokesperson.

"The report of the Commission, released today, does nothing to alleviate our concerns," he added. "While the United States believes the HRC plays a crucial role in promoting respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms globally, this COI and report do not advance this goal."

Price went on to say that Israel is the only country subject to a standing agenda item at the HRC, "and has received disproportionate focus at the HRC compared to human rights situations elsewhere in the world."

#3  I don’t have nothing to believe from anyone!
I saw with my own eyes. Israel the multicultural “democracy”
A country where the French Jew jewelers in the marina screw the American Jewish tourists
A country where mashgiachs are more wealthy than lawyers (bribes)
A country where the poor Israeli Ethiopian Jews get shoot and treated as a third class
A country where the majority of Israeli Arabs are criminalized on a daily basis
A country that thanks to the sympathetic mostly Jews owned American media can shoot and kill protesters or bomb and invade neighbor countries.
A country living on a lie and on American assistance.

#4  Oh my. You are a naif, aren’t you! And you visited Israel in person to see all that? You sound like the tourists who spent ten glorious days in New York City or Miami Beach and now know all there is to know about America.

In America, lawyers on average earn less than taxi drivers. Why should it be different in Israel?

The natives screw tourists everywhere. It’s part of the experience. I enjoyed the exact same myself in Munich, in Budapest (oh God, in Budapest! They tried to charge me more for porcelain than I would have paid in Germany, just because I’m American), in the tourist traps of Mexico, and (oh God cubed!) in New York City. I’d have to ask Mr. Wife about Bulgaria, but he was there to work, not as a tourist, so his experience would have been very different.

I didn’t realize the Jews in France went in for making jewelry. Belgian Jews from Antwerp for diamonds, Yemenite silversmiths and and those fancy knives their Arab neighbours went in for back home, sure, but I was under the impression that in France they were mostly in intellectual professions.

It is a universal experience that Former Iron Curtain and Third World immigrants are treated like crap in their new, First World homes. It takes a generation or two to climb that ladder to success, and now the younger generation of Ethiopian Jews are doing so — very popular musicians, representing Israel in the Miss Universe contest, full academic scholarships from the best universities. and so forth. Was your experience different when you moved to California from Bulgaria? What about the other immigrants who arrived when you did?

Israel’s Arabs have been in recent years complaining that Israeli police have not been protecting them from criminals. The problem is that the criminals are their neighbours, who shoot, beat up, rob, rape, and murder each other at much higher rates than do the Jews in the next neighbourhood over. The kinds of terroristic attacks on Israeli Jews that we report here are really much less frequent than the criminal attacks on each other, in line with the same behaviours in nearby countries. On the other hand, there are plenty of Israeli Arab police, army generals, judges, television reporters, beauty contest winners, and everything else available in an integrated society.

After starting and losing four major wars against Israel, the Muslim Middle East world tried paying the local Palestinians to carry out a proxy war instead.— Intifada I, Intifada II, Hamas’s missile thing, the rash of knife and car attacks — and in all cases Israel responded with overwhelming force. Sorry, you’ll find no sympathy here for suicidal idiots being sent more quickly to their god than they intended.

21:44 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that "Ukrainian nationalists" placed armored vehicles and equipped firing positions on the territory of elevators and granaries in a number of settlements of Kharkiv, Sumy regions, as well as the "DPR". In particular, on the territory of the Zolochevsky elevator in the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly deployed "Western-style artillery guns, presumably American M777 howitzers, from which they fire at the border regions of the Russian Federation," Moscow said.

According to him, Lukashenka made it clear that he supports Russian military aggression: “In my opinion, the situation has only worsened recently, and Lukashenka has shown that he is in the same boat with Putin in this vile aggression. My opinion and assessment do not change - We need to look for other alternatives."

Nauseda also said that he does not see the possibility of resuming the transit of Belarusian fertilizers through Lithuania - such a condition for the transportation of Ukrainian grain through Belarus is put forward by Lukashenka.

19:54 Three shooters and a machine gunner of the "DPR" army were sentenced to 15 years for treason and participation in preparations for hostilities against Ukraine, the Prosecutor General's Office said. In court, it was proved that the convicts, being citizens of Ukraine, went over to the side of the enemy. In March 2022, they arrived in the Kharkiv region in order to contribute to the further occupation of the territory of Ukraine by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. There they were detained by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

19:51 Fake newspapers have been printed for Ukrainian prisoners of war. In the pre-trial detention center, the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will read that Ukraine has been completely captured, and its army has been defeated. As conceived by the authors of this "idea", the prisoners will become more accommodating, Vladimir Osechkin, founder of the human rights organization Gulagu.net , said on the Air program.

According to him, the FSB has already begun to produce newspapers, as well as television and radio programs that will imitate the Ukrainian and independent press for prisoners of war in the pre-trial detention center in Rostov-on-Don. 17:33 Macron's statements about the humiliation of Russia do not hold water, Zelensky said during a Financial Times video conference: "I don't quite understand what humiliation of Russia is. What kind of Russia? What are we talking about? That all these many years, more eight, they kill our people. Emmanuel is deeply immersed in the process, one of the leaders of the Normandy Four, he perfectly understands the details of the Minsk Document, all the agreements that were with the Russian side in the framework of Normandy-4, non-fulfillment of agreements, constant breakdowns. Russia assured that it was attacking military facilities, but dozens were killed thousands of civilians. Russia swears it doesn't want a food crisis, but it's destroying Ukrainian grain terminals. Does anyone else really take into account the Kremlin's promises?"

He hopes to deploy in Lithuania not only air defense systems, but also NATO brigades numbering from three to five thousand troops. Currently, 1,600 alliance soldiers are stationed in Lithuania.

16:29 Poland proposes to extend the seventh package of EU anti-Russian sanctions to all energy carriers and banks, said Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau after a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg.

16:27 Zelensky admitted during the Financial Times video conference that Ukraine is now not capable of attacking: "We are inferior in terms of technology, so we are not able to attack. We will suffer heavy losses, and people are my priority." The president also said that Western sanctions "didn't really affect" Moscow's position.

Pushing Russian forces back into positions held before the Feb. 24 invasion would mean a "major temporary victory" for Ukraine, Zelenskiy said, but full sovereignty over its territory remains the ultimate goal. He also stressed that victory in the war with the Russian Federation "should be achieved on the battlefield." At the same time, he confirmed that he was open to peace talks with Putin. "Ukraine clearly supported the pro-Western course, staked on better relations with Poland, and is starting to return more often to the history that united us," the Polish diplomat stressed. He noted that after the signing of a new agreement on good neighborliness, Warsaw will continue to work to ensure that "Ukraine integrates into Euro-Atlantic structures and thus draws closer to the West."

According to him, Ukraine is preparing to purchase gas from abroad in the amount of up to $8 billion.

Over the past six days, more than 70 attacks on the border areas have been recorded, over 50 of which were artillery, the rest - from small arms and aviation.

Demchenko also said that the total average daily flow at the checkpoints of Ukraine remains within 80-85 thousand people in both directions, the border guards do not record queues to leave Ukraine. Since February 24, 8.7 million people have crossed the territory of Ukraine in the directions of departure and departure. For departure - 5.4 million citizens, for entry - 2.8 million.

More than 300 Orthodox Ukrainians are now hiding in the caves and cellars of the Lavra complex. As the journalists found out, the monks still remain faithful to the Russian Orthodox Church and Patriarch Kirill, despite the fact that he actually blessed and justified the war against Ukraine, and the UOC announced its separation from the Moscow Patriarchate.

#1  An intelligence community 'damage assessment' review would likely conclude that... cats found in the barn owned by the farmer, were also property of the farmer. How could one safely assume otherwise? Steele's source status, "CROWN" or whatever, is actually an academic diversion which intentionally muddies the project's intent.

The goal of the project or actual intent was the establishment and sustainment of Carter Page as a recruited and paid source. Monitoring him (a US Person) as a potential espionage agent, accomplished the necessary "cover for action" goal.

Page had yet another intelligence community job to do. This is the legal work-around used to provide Page with Placement and Access (P&A) required in order to get the Trump Campaign monitoring accomplished.

The "cats in the barn" metaphor would likely also apply to Page being witting of his mission as a recruited source. One must assume he knew precisely what his mission was. He was after all, a top USNA grad, commissioned intelligence officer and seasoned operator. He knew the deal.

#2  So how does Carter Page insulate himself from the scheme and mission mentioned above? Thanks for asking. He pursues the 'victim role' through legal action at Perkins Coie, imagine that. Small world, no? Yes, that's the agency, the one with the 'on-site' FBI SCIF. A legal action which eventually went nowhere, as planned.

Kansas woman arrested for allegedly leading all-female ISIS battalion UPDATE: She pled guilty

A woman who once lived in Kansas has been arrested after federal prosecutors charged her with joining the Islamic State group and leading an all-female battalion of AK-47 wielding militants.

The U.S. Attorney in Alexandria, Virginia, announced Saturday that Allison Fluke-Ekren,
...mother of five, wife of three jihadis — sequentially, they kept getting killed, first the sniper, then the Bangladeshi drone expert, then the failed defender of Raqqa—teacher, home schooler, fluent in Arabic, Turkish, and Spanish. Two of the kids escaped her clutches, getting themselves to safety with her first husband in America...
42, has been charged with providing material support to a terrorist organization.

The criminal complaint was filed under seal back in 2019 but made public Saturday after Fluke-Ekren was brought back to the U.S. Friday to face charges. Her alleged participation in the Islamic State had not been publicly known before Saturday's announcement.

Prosecutors say Fluke-Ekren wanted to recruit operatives to attack a college campus in the U.S. and discussed a terrorist attack on a shopping mall. She told one witness that "she considered any attack that did not kill a large number of individuals to be a waste of resources," according to an FBI affidavit.

Prosecutors say she was a 'fervent believer' of ISIS ideology

That affidavit from FBI Special Agent David Robins also alleges that Fluke-Ekren became leader of an Islamic State unit called "Khatiba Nusaybah" in the Syrian city of Raqqa in late 2016. The all-female unit was trained in the use of AK-47 rifles, grenades and suicide belts.

In all, the affidavit cites observations from six different witnesses, including some who have been charged with terrorism offenses and some who were held at prison camps for former Islamic state members.

A detention memo filed Friday by First Assistant U.S. Attorney Raj Parekh states that Fluke-Ekren even trained children how to use assault rifles, and that at least one witness saw one of Fluke-Ekren's children, approximately 5 or 6 years old, holding a machine gun in the family's home in Syria.

"Fluke-Ekren has been a fervent believer in the radical terrorist ideology of ISIS for many years, having traveled to Syria to commit or support violent jihad. Fluke-Ekren translated her extremist beliefs into action by serving as the appointed leader and organizer of an ISIS military battalion, directly training women and children in the use of AK-47 assault rifles, grenades, and suicide belts to support the Islamic State's murderous aims," Parekh wrote.

FROM KANSAS TO SYRIA
According to court papers, Fluke-Ekren moved to Egypt in 2008 and traveled frequently between Egypt and the U.S. over the next three years. She has not been in the U.S. since 2011.

Prosecutors believe she moved to Syria around 2012. In early 2016, her husband was killed in the Syrian city of Tell Abyad while trying to carry out a terrorist attack, prosecutors said. Later that year, prosecutors say she married a Bangladeshi ISIS member who specialized in drones, but he died in late 2016 or early 2017.

Four months after that man's death, she again remarried a prominent Islamic state leader who was responsible for the Islamic State group's defense of Raqqa.

She told one witness in 2018 that she instructed a person in Syria to tell Fluke-Ekren's Family she was dead so the U.S. government would not try to find her, according to Parekh's memo.

Photos from a family blog called 4KansasKids show her and her children in the years they traveled between Kansas and Egypt, posing at the base of the pyramids in Egypt and playing in the snow in the U.S.

A 2004 article about homeschooling in the Lawrence Journal-World featured Fluke-Ekren and her children. She told the paper she pulled her kids from public school because she was dissatisfied with how her children were performing in public and private schools. Homeschooling allowed her to teach Arabic to her kids.

Court papers do not indicate how she was captured, or how long she was in custody before being turned over to the FBI Friday.

She is scheduled to make an initial appearance at U.S. District Court in Alexandria on Monday, at which time she would likely be appointed an attorney.
Update from Rudaw at 4:45 a.m. ET, edited for new information:
A former US schoolteacher who became a high-ranking Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
official and organized an all-female IS military battalion, pleaded guilty Tuesday to supporting a foreign terrorist group, the Justice Department said.

Kansas-born Allison Fluke-Ekren, 42, admitted to engaging in "terrorism-related activities" in Syria, Libya, and Iraq between 2011 and 2019.

"Fluke-Ekren ultimately served as the leader and organizer of an ISIS military battalion, known as the Khatiba Nusaybah, where she trained women on the use of automatic firing AK-47 assault rifles, grenades, and suicide belts," the department said.

Her husband was a member of the murderous Moslem Ansar al-Sharia
...a Salafist militia which claims it is not part of al-Qaeda, even though it works about the same and for the same ends. There are groups of the same name in Libya and Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. It still uses the old name now and then, probably because the stationery's not all used up and the web site hasn't expired yet...
group which attacked the US mission in Benghazi, Libya in 2012, and then became a leader of an Islamic State sniper group in Syria.

The department said the two were involved in murderous Moslem activities across the Middle East after they left the United States in 2011.

Fluke-Ekren was apprehended in Syria sometime after the early-2019 territorial defeat of Islamic State, and flown to the United States on January 28.

The court record indicates that her attorneys and the Justice Department spent months negotiating her guilty plea on a single count, supporting a foreign terrorist organization, a charge which brings up to 20 years in prison.

She is scheduled to be sentenced on October 25.

- BORN ON KANSAS FARM -
Fluke-Ekren married a man named Fluke and had two children. They split and she married Volkan Ekren, a Moslem with whom she had at least three more children.

As Fluke-Ekren, she studied at the University of Kansas and then earned a master's degree in teaching from a college in Indiana.

- JOINING LIONS OF ISLAM -
But the Justice department suggested her husband was already involved with radical Islamists at that time.

They moved to Libya in 2011, the year of the Arab Spring uprisings and the beginning of the Libyan civil war.

They were in Benghazi in September 2012 when Ansar al-Sharia attacked the US mission and CIA office there, killing the US ambassador and three others.

Her husband took documents and an electronic device from the fire-charred compound and Fluke-Ekren helped him analyze the contents for the group, the Justice Department said.

They then moved to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
and Syria, where they became deeply involved with Islamic State, even living in the group's djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
, Iraq stronghold for a time.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] 23:25 VFU, during the retreat from positions in the seaport of Mariupol, deliberately set fire to a large granary, thus destroying more than 50,000 tons of grain.

22:35 No sooner had Shoigu informed about the creation of conditions for the resumption of railway traffic in the liberated territories, as Melitopol reports: the first freight train went to Crimea, grain was taken from local elevators.

21:45 Losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can amount to 200,000 soldiers. The Ukrainian army is rapidly retreating under the onslaught of the Allied Forces of Russia. At the same time, the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be in the hundreds of thousands of fighters, said the former deputy head of the US European Command, Lieutenant General Stephen Twitty.

" A total of 200,000 fighters somehow mysteriously disappeared from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and no one will say where they are today. A huge number of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine simply fell out of sight of the American curators. Either there was misinformation about the mobilization, or they are crushed," concluded Twitty.

21:45 More than 22,000 people were evacuated to the Russian Federation from the territories of Donbass and Ukraine per day.

21:45 Kyiv, with the support of the West, actually resorts to food terrorism against its own people.

21:45 The Armed Forces of Ukraine are placing howitzers and MLRS in the elevators of the Kharkiv region and the DPR, from which they fire at the border regions of Russia.

21:44 Ukrainian nationalists deployed armored vehicles and equipped firing positions on the territory of elevators and granaries in a number of settlements in the Kharkiv, Sumy regions, as well as the DPR, the Russian Defense Ministry reports.

In particular, on the territory of the Zolochevsky elevator (Kharkiv region), the militants placed Western-style artillery pieces, presumably American M777 howitzers, from which they fire at the border regions of the Russian Federation. The purpose of such actions is to provoke return fire, after which, according to an already worked out scenario, accuse the Russian Armed Forces of allegedly indiscriminate strikes on civilian infrastructure and creating a threat to Ukraine's food security, the Defense Ministry says.

21:10 Trains began to run from Melitopol towards Crimea, today the first 11 cars left the Melitopol elevator, the authorities report.

21:09 Explosions are reported in Kharkiv. They rise above the city clouds of smoke.

21:07 Fixed arrival to an infrastructure facility in the Nikolaev region.

18:23 The Pentagon gave Zelensky an ultimatum - to find those responsible for missile strikes on Western equipment or supplies will stop.

Ukrainian sources report that after missile strikes on warehouses with Western military equipment, a conversation took place between the Zelensky administration and a Pentagon representative. The Americans demanded that their wards eliminate information leaks in order to ensure the secrecy of the delivery of military aid to the front.

17:23 Missile strikes are carried out on the objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the vicinity of Kharkov.

17:22 In Kherson, they are considering a terrorist attack as one of the versions of an explosion in a restaurant - the deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the region.

16:10 Ukraine cannot go on the offensive because it is inferior to Russia in technology, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

16:08 Personnel the defeat of the Norwegian self-propelled units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a salvo of rocket artillery of the Russian army.

15:08 In the Vasilyevsky district of the Zaporozhye region continues issuance of one-time financial assistance. A payment in the amount of ten thousand rubles was received by pensioners from the village of Vidnozheno.

13:47 The liberated territories of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions are switching to the Russian holiday calendar. June 12 in Melitopol will take place celebration of Russia's Day. The Song and Dance Ensemble of the North Caucasian District of the Russian National Guard Troops was invited.

13:46 Active battles are going on in the Zaporozhye region in the Orekhovo and Gulyaipole regions.

13:45 The defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Davydov Brod. Ukrainian maps help clear up the fog of war on the front near Davydov Brod. The original front line ran along the banks of the Ingulets (RF Armed Forces) and Vysun (AFU) rivers north and east of Snigirevka. The entire area between the two rivers was in the gray zone until recently.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine transferred assault units to the Kalinovka-Murakhovka line. An additional line of defense was created in the Chervony Yar-Kaluga sector on the eastern bank of the Vysun. From the side of Kalinovka and Murakhovka, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced, which set up a pontoon crossing in the area of Veliky Artakovo.

Having crossed Ingulets, the Armed Forces of Ukraine rushed to attack Davydov Brod in the northeast. While the fighting was going on and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation were connected by a clash, from the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine they were crossing the bridge already at Davydov Brod, transferring reinforcements. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, having lured the Armed Forces of Ukraine into a fire bag, destroyed the bridge under Davydov Brod and liquidated the enemy grouping in the village.

At the same time, another grouping of the RF Armed Forces, using a pontoon ferry in the area of Veliky Artakovo, entered Belaya Krinitsa. At the moment, aircraft controllers remain in Kalinovka, who correct the fire of cannon and rocket artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine operating in the Kaluga region from drones.

12:36 "This lies, local residents confirmed that it was arson." The head of the administration of Svyatogorsk, Volodymyr Bandura, confirmed that the wooden skete in the Holy Dormition Lavra was set on fire by the Ukrainian Nazis.

"There is information that the Nazis kill clergy and monks, and then hide these facts," Vladimir Bandura added.

The head of the administration of Svyatogorsk also said that Zelensky and his team do not take care of people, but simply earn money.

12:35 A couple of weeks ago, the RF Armed Forces inflicted a hit at the training center based on the 91st National Guard Regiment in Akhtyrka. One warehouse and four barracks were hit.

Despite this, the training camp continues to function. Now the training of mobilized citizens is carried out under the full control of instructors from NATO countries - primarily from Poland and the UK. Under their leadership, sabotage and reconnaissance groups are being prepared, which will be involved in the regions of the Sumy and Kharkov regions bordering the Russian Federation.

Courses run at an accelerated rate. The first NATO-trained DRG has already arrived in Udy, Kharkiv region, where units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are now concentrated.

12:35 Ukrainian refugees in Poland plundered one of the points of assistance to them. The representative of the local authorities was extremely surprised.

12:35 The Turkish authorities intend to take advantage of the conflict in Ukraine to regain access to Western weapons lost after some steps by Ankara, including the purchase of Russian S-400 air defense systems and the start of a military operation in Syria, the American weekly Defense News reports.

11:53 In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: 190 aircraft, 129 helicopters, 1,139 unmanned aerial vehicles, 333 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,443 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 478 installations of multiple launch rocket systems, 1,807 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 3,464 units of special military vehicles.

11:53 Missile troops and artillery hit 39 command posts, 47 firing positions of artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as 426 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment. As a result of the strikes, more than 400 nationalists, 10 armored vehicles, three Grad multiple rocket launchers, 10 special vehicles, and three launchers of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems in the Kramatorsk region were destroyed.

11:53 Russian air defense systems shot down 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Liptsy, Strelechye, Dementyevka, Borodoyarskoye, Maryino, Petrovskoye, Grakovo, Small Passages of the Kharkiv region, as well as Vasilievka of the Nikolaev region in a day.

11:52 Operational-tactical aviation hit 65 areas of concentration of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of air strikes, more than 170 nationalists, nine tanks, two Grad multiple rocket launchers, a field artillery battery and eight vehicles for various purposes were destroyed.

11:52 High-precision air-launched missiles struck: two command posts, three firing positions of artillery batteries, as well as 18 areas of accumulation of manpower and Ukrainian military equipment. In the areas of the settlements of Vrubovka and Yakovlevka of the Lugansk People's Republic, two ammunition depots were destroyed.

11:50 In the Armed Forces of Belarus, training has begun on the transfer from peacetime to wartime, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reported.

10:41 AFU has lost a lot of foreign artillery, said Shashank Joshi, editor of The Economist. According to the editor of the publication, howitzers supplied by NATO countries are becoming unusable due to poor maintenance. Because of this, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to send them to Poland for repairs.

10:41 In Melitopol, more than 100 million rubles were paid to beneficiaries and state employees. Galina Danilchenko, the head of the military-civilian administration of Melitopol, announced this in the stream "Lituchka":

"We pay 10,000rubles each to pensioners, socially unprotected, public utilities workers, state employees. This is the first receipt of the ruble mass on the territory. Over 100 million were paid in Melitopol. Then comes the flow of ruble mass through the Crimea, many entrepreneurs now export fresh vegetables and fruits there. Naturally, ruble revenue comes here. Bank MRB opened. Ruble accounts have been opened, and enterprises can carry out activities."

10:40 Today, our artillery has been actively working since early morning, supporting the advancing units of the Russian army. We are advancing from the north in the direction of Slavyansk, which is less than 20 km away.

Subdivisions of the RF Armed Forces have reached the outskirts of Bogorodichne settlement, fire damage is inflicted on the enemy defending the settlement. Krasnopolie and Dolina.

Groups of Russian special forces continue to clear a large forest north of Krasnopolye, from which the enemy received reinforcements and where he went in case of hard shelling.

In the forests, there are shooting battles and mine warfare, fortified areas in settlements (where often every house with a basement is a firing point) fire damage is inflicted by artillery and tanks.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine practically does not try to counterattack, they respond with artillery and mortars, although the fire is quite dense. Apparently, despite the numerical superiority, Ukrainian defense will soon collapse.

Yesterday, Russian troops took Svyatogorsk, today the northern grouping of the Russian Armed Forces is knocking out the enemy from an extremely convenient area for defense north of Slavyanka, where an abundance of forests, settlements and rivers contributes to a long-term defense.

10:38 In the Sumy region and Kharkiv, an Azov unit was formed to replace the capitulated in Mariupol. It was headed by Denis Sokur, the leader of the local branch of the National Corps, which is part of the criminal elite in the region, a source in the Russian law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti.

The interlocutor of the agency added that Sokur had not worked anywhere for a day: “There is no car, no apartment, he lives in his grandmother’s three-room Khrushchev era apartment ... At the same time, tens of thousands of dollars, euros and hundreds of thousands of hryvnias are in bank accounts.”

08:50 In the new agreement with Ukraine, if Kyiv nevertheless makes contact with Moscow, the status of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will not be discussed, just as the issue with Crimea and Donbass is closed for Moscow, a high-ranking source in Russia.

"Moscow was ready to stop the special operation back in March, during the negotiations of the delegations in Antalya. Then Ukraine itself offered a neutral status and security guarantees without including Donbass and Crimea. [President of the Russian Federation] Vladimir Putin was ready to take this step, but the West put pressure on Ukraine, and therefore Kyiv withdrew its proposal," said the source of Izvestia.

08:40 - Advisor to the head of the office of Vladimir Zelensky, Alexei Arestovich, said that Ukraine has not yet seen the 5,000 helmets promised by Germany.

08:25 - On the territory of the Kherson region will hold a referendum on the entry of the region into the Russian Federation - the deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the region Stremousov. Ukrainian banks in Kherson region will no longer work - Stremousov

8:06 - HMMWV vehicles from the presence of the American army, transported from Germany to Ukraine for transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, were seen in the Czech Republic today

8:01 - TV broadcasting has been restored in the Zaporozhye region on the basis of the Russian multiplex, 30 channels and radio stations are available. The printing of local newspapers in a limited edition is also being resumed, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the region, said.

8:00 - Ukraine, by refusing to conduct peace talks with Russia, is fulfilling the will of the Western world, Sergei Lavrov said.

10 Underreported Revelations From Trial of Former Clinton Lawyer
[ET] While former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann was acquitted of lying to the FBI, a number of new details came to light during his trial. Some haven’t been made known or been widely reported.

1. FBI Lawyer, Sussmann Met With, Sought Perkins Coie Job
Sussmann passed along claims about Clinton presidential rival Donald Trump to FBI lawyer James Baker on Sept. 19, 2016, as well as data that supposedly supported the claims.

Baker gave the information to others in the bureau, triggering an investigation. The FBI and CIA both determined the claims were unsupported.

Baker, while testifying during the trial, described Sussmann as a friend whom he met when both worked for the Department of Justice (DOJ), the FBI’s parent agency. Baker, who left the bureau in May 2018, revealed that he was seeking to work for Perkins Coie, the firm that employed Sussmann, soon after.
More details on this, and the other nine 'revelations' at the link. Nice roll up, if long-winded.

  • Joining the parade of downsized products is Honey Bunches of Oats, which has seen the weight of its standard box, previously 14.5 ounces, lessen to 12 ounces

  • Another shrinkflation casualty to emerge in recent weeks was instant coffee provider Folger's, which shrank the size of its canisters by 7.5 ounces

  • The US inflation rate hit 8.5 percent in March, the highest seen since 1981

Mention sizes and prices several months ago.

Coffee now 42 oz down from 48 oz.
In some cases, stores are applying the 42 oz Large Container price to the 22-24 oz smaller containers and not stocking the large ones.

Cans of corn now 15 oz down from 16 oz. and up 19 cents.

Bacon $7.04 LBS being sold in 12 oz packs instead of 16 oz.

BTW: Not surprising, Aunt Jemima, now WOKE renamed and called PERL MILLING Company, is NOT selling and the shelves are loaded. They also used the rebranding to lose 40ml (about 1.4 OZ) in size during their rebranding.

Even the Black Community is pissed off about the name change.

One Black customer comment I heard in Wally World, "They took a successful Black person off the label and renamed it like some damn White company. "

[FoxNews] The Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin Tuesday warning of a "heightened threat environment" over the next several months as they monitor both risks of domestic terrorism and foreign adversaries looking to sow discord within the U.S. to promote acts of violence.

"The United States remains in a heightened threat environment, as noted in the previous Bulletin, and several recent attacks have highlighted the dynamic and complex nature of the threat environment," DHS said in a new bulletin from the National Terrorism Advisory System.

"In the coming months, we expect the threat environment to become more dynamic as several high-profile events could be exploited to justify acts of violence against a range of possible targets," DHS said.

The bulletin listed potential targets to include "public gatherings, faith-based institutions, schools, racial and religious minorities, government facilities and personnel, U.S. critical infrastructure, the media, and perceived ideological opponents."

The department said it is monitoring onling forums following the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, that have been encouraging copycat attacks.

The bulletin noted how pro-al-Qa‘ida and ISIS users online have celebrated the April subway mass shooting in Brooklyn, New York, and the January hostage situation at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas, carried out by a British national in an attempt to inspire U.S. based individuals to engage in violent activity.

The update from DHS Tuesday reiterated from its previous bulletin that individuals both for and against abortion online have advocated for violence against government, religious, and reproductive healthcare personnel, and facilities in response to the high-profile U.S. Supreme Court case.

"Chinese, Iranian, Russian, and other foreign malign influence actors have sought to contribute to U.S. internal discord and weaken its focus and position internationally," the DHS said. "As the U.S. 2022 mid-term elections approach, malign foreign actors could bolster their messaging to sow discord and influence U.S. audiences in keeping with practices during previous election cycles."

The bulletin noted how foreign actors have amplified narratives promoting societal division in the U.S., including since the onset of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.

"Threat actors have recently mobilized to violence due to factors such as personal grievances, reactions to current events, and adherence to violent extremist ideologies, including racially or ethnically motivated or anti-government/anti-authority violent extremism," DHS said.

The department stressed that "foreign adversaries—including terrorist organizations and nation state adversaries—also remain intent on exploiting the threat environment to promote or inspire violence, sow discord, or undermine U.S. democratic institutions."

"We continue to assess that the primary threat of mass casualty violence in the United States stems from lone offenders and small groups motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances," the bulletin said.

#10  This assessment predicts the rising anger the Puppet Show has created. They created a dialogue of "right wing extremism, militancy and white supremacy" in advance of any actual threat precisely to create the "threat" their policies are growing. This is classic agent provocateur reasoning on a national scale. Marxists think like this, and our woefully ignorant fellow citizens in the main are unaware of it as a revolutionary technique used to topple governments and systems in recent history. It appears the government is setting the stage for civil unrest to justify some kind of response this summer.

India: Why are Punjab singers under attack by criminal gangs?
[DW] The murder of rapper-turned-politician Sidhu Moose Wala has drawn global attention to the dark side of the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

music industry and the criminal networks operating within India and abroad.

No mention of Pakistani catspaw Khalistan (Sikh) liberation groups...
Rapper-turned-politician Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known as Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot and killed by unidentified people on May 29 in a crowded marketplace in the Mansa district in Punjab state, a day after his security was downsized by the state government.

The 28-year-old had a massive fan following both in India and abroad, especially in Canada and the UK, which have a sizeable Punjabi diaspora population.
…at least a portion of whom are Sikh…
According to Punjab police, Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, and gang member Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in a Delhi prison, were behind the attack. Initial investigations suggest that Moose Wala's death was the result of an inter-gang dispute.

Artists shared condolences online following the death of Moose Wala. Some also expressed concerns over the safety of artists in India's entertainment industry.

"Most people will never know the extent of what you have to deal with as a Punjabi artist behind the scenes on a daily basis," Amritpal Singh Dhillon, an Indian-born Canadian singer and rapper, and a close associate of Moose Wala, wrote in a post on Instagram. "With constant judgment, hate-filled comments, threats and negative energy directed towards people like us, who are just doing what we love."

Singer Mika Singh also shared his fears about celebrities becoming easy targets.

"Singers in Punjab often get such threats from gangsters. I am telling you from personal experiences, dealing with threats is very difficult," Singh said, while currently filming a reality show in Rajasthan. He has beefed up security measures as a precaution following the killing of Moose Wala.

PUNJABI ARTISTS UNDER ATTACK
Citing fears for his life, singer Mankirt Aulakh has also increased security. He said he requested Punjab police to step up security measures after receiving threats in April from the Davinder Bambiha gang.

The gang is reportedly engaged in a pie fight with associates of Lawrence Bishnoi. Industry insiders say scores of Punjabi singers are being threatened and attacked by gang members, and that extortion calls are seldomly reported.

"Many of the successful Punjabi singers or actors have linkages with Canada. Many of them have either permanent residency permits or have citizenship," Jaideep Sarin, a political commentator told DW, adding that Punjabi singers who have had success abroad are at increased risk of being targeted by gang members.

In 2018, unidentified persons shot Punjabi singer Parmish Verma in Mohali. He sustained a gunshot in the thigh. Gang member Dilpreet Singh, who is wanted on the account of numerous criminal cases including murder, claimed he shot Verma on his Facebook page.

In the same year, the well perforated carcass of budding singer Navjot Singh was found in an empty plot of land in Dera Bassi. Investigations are still ongoing.

During this time, actor-singer Gippy Grewal said he had also received extortion threats via video call from Dilpreet Singh, seeking protection money. Jalandhar-based Punjabi singer Rai Jujhar, meanwhile, said he received threats by an unknown person over the phone.

A BOOMING INDUSTRY
Punjabi music is one of India's fastest-growing music industries, according to Ghaint Punjab entertainment news.

The current value of the Punjabi music industry is around seven billion Indian Rupees (€84 million) and is growing at a pace of over 10% annually. The industry has more than 400 registered music labels that release around 15 to 20 songs every day. In 2019, the industry alone released more than 4,000 music videos.

"What we are seeing in the Punjabi music and film industry is what was witnessed in Bollywood years back. Extortion and protection money is now a given and the underworld is now wanting a share," Pramod Kumar, director of the Institute for Development and Communication in Chandigarh, told DW.

"These young musicians also seem to normalize violence through their genre of gangster rap and this is promoting a culture of violence," Kumar said.

#2  This is the culmination of an absolutely foolish strategy by the Ukrainian general staff. Instead of withdrawing from the Donbas to consolidate and regroup in more defensible positions to the west, or « reculer pour mieux sauter ».

Instead, the Ukrainians are losing not just what was always going to be lost (the Donbas), but also their best troops and huge numbers of the heavy weaponry supplied by the West.

There are now said to be discussions of a cease-fire between Zelensky and Putin. All the pressure on Putin is coming from his own general staff: they insist that Russia NOT negotiate, rather, to continue winning, to push on and seize even more land, to take Odesa. Hard to disagree with their logic.

#7  Total shitshow. NOW they tell us -- the Ukrainian jokers are lying even to Austin and Milley.

Big NY Times article today quoting Haines and other US Intelligence Community officials to the effect that they know next to nothing about "the state of Ukraine’s military forces and strategy in the Donbas."

As a result, we don't know what the fuck these assholes are doing, why they're doing it, and therefore whether or not they're about to be encircled and annihilated in the Donbas.

Here's The NY Times today, finally spilling the beans: "The United States provides regular, near real-time intelligence updates to Ukraine about the location of Russian forces, information that the Ukrainians use to plan operations and strikes and strengthen their defenses.

"But even in high level conversations with Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, or Lloyd J. Austin III, the secretary of defense, Ukrainian officials share only their strategic goals, not their detailed operational plans.

"Ukraine’s secrecy has forced U.S. military and intelligence officials to try and learn what they can from other countries operating in Ukraine, training sessions with Ukrainians and Mr. Zelensky’s public comments, American officials said.

"Ukraine, the officials said, wants to present an image of strength, both to the public and to its close partners. The government does not want to share information that could suggest a weakening of resolve, or give the impression that they might not win.

"In essence, Ukrainian officials do not want to present information that might encourage the United States and its other Western partners to slow the flow of arms."

#10  Well, this has been obvious from the beginning. The picture presented to the American and British public about Ukraine's battlefield success has always been full of lies and exaggerations. The German and Austrian press has presented plenty of examples of stunning Ukrainian failures, but none of this has been given to the US. It's quite astonishing that this information was withheld from Austin and Milley and the Biden people.

The New York Times is clearly preparing their readers for the inevitable: "another intelligence failure"

This woman is saying aloud what we in Europe already knew:

" 'How much do we really know about how Ukraine is doing?' said Beth Sanner, a former senior intelligence official. 'Can you find a person who will tell you with confidence how many troops has Ukraine lost, how many pieces of equipment has Ukraine lost?' "

"...the public information about Ukrainian casualties, equipment losses and morale is incomplete. There may be a potential cost if the intelligence community cannot present a fuller picture to the public or Congress about Ukraine’s military prospects, Ms. Sanner said.

"If Russia advances further, the failure to understand the state of the Ukrainian military could open the intelligence community to accusations that it failed to deliver a full picture of Ukraine’s prospects in the war to policymakers.

“ 'Everything is about Russia’s goals and Russia’s prospects for meeting their goals,' Ms. Sanner said. 'We do not talk about whether Ukraine might be able to defeat them. And to me, I feel that we are setting ourselves up for another intel failure by not talking about that publicly.' "

#12  ^ Your (understandable) outrage is better directed at Austin and Biden, I think. Zelensky is no better than he ought to be, as they say.

He and the Ukrainians are merely doing what's done by every ambitious third-world mountebank with a grudge against American neo-conservatives' latest bête noire. He presented himself as an heroic champion of 'freedom' and 'democracy,' made theatrical appeals as another Holocaust-style victim in Washington and Hollywood to Congress and to Jewish media executives and Wall Street money men, and asked for billions in American military supplies. It's an old routine, and a supremely lucrative one.

As always, the money is squandered or stolen, the neo-partisans are defeated on the battlefield and abandon their weapons, and the little man who cried wolf absconds with hundreds of millions to a safe offshore haven, never to be heard from again.

All of it is completely predictable.

#15  We’ve seen what the Obama administration did when Israel informed them about plans for Iran, and no doubt other things. And the Biden administration copies Obama’s methods slavishly, the Obama who promised Russia that after his reelection he would be free to act instead of pleasing the electorate.

Given that, would you trust the Biden team with your abilities and plans? I certainly would not.

As for the New York Times, cher Jean-Paul, if they reported the sky was blue I would check for myself from several different vantage points. They combine all that is Pravda and Izvestia in one well-written, fabricated package. Anyone who believes what appears in their pages without checking other sources is a naive.

One must ask, though, what makes Jewish media executives different than non-Jewish media executives? Do you know many personally, or is this the kind of general knowledge absorbed from the atmosphere? In order to judge the validity of your claims, we must understand from whence comes your knowledge.

#17  how you feel about being lied to repeatedly by your leaders about this war?

"In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies." - Winston Churchill

#18  The German and Austrian military and intelligence analysts, and publications like Die Welt and Der Spiegel, have reported objectively and without efforts to push a slanted narrative. The French outlets also, and same for Chinese and Arab media. All have noted when Russians were defeated, and have also noted the many colossal defeats which the Ukrainians have suffered.

Only the American and British press outlets have consistently -- until the last few days -- pushed a relentlessly, absurdly one-sided view of the actual progress of events on the battlefield.

Now we understand why. US intelligence is being deceived and kept in the dark by their Ukrainian client -- just as they were by Ahmed Chalabi, Hamid Karzai, and the South Vietnamese leaders Diem and later, Thieu.

Again and again, America embraces mountebanks and little third world Napoleons who lead America into foolish overseas adventures that end in disaster. Plus ça change...

#20  Jewish media executives in the US have pushed the absurd notion that Zelensky is a kind of Warsaw Ghetto resistance figure up against Russian Nazis. Zelensky made outrageous slurs against Kissinger, whose family actually did escape the Nazis, while hiding behind his own sordid history of supporting the notorious neo-Nazi brigades and the Ujraunuans' beloved Nazi, Stepan Bandera.

Zelensky has tried again and again to exploit the Holocaust. Here is a summary by a Times of Israel writer:

"...both sides are guilty of inappropriately invoking the Holocaust. Already early on, Zelensky compared Ukraine, to Ukraine has shared images of Putin as Hitler. Using images of the Holocaust to establish victimhood is never a sound strategy.

...Putin is not an antisemite. His affinity for Jews and the Jewish people is well known. Stories about his Jewish childhood friends, neighbours, and teachers are countless. Like the time he visited Israel and bought his 93-year-old former teacher an apartment in Tel Aviv. Putin has spoken publicly about the elderly Jewish couple who helped raise him, and the Jewish judo coach who was a major influence on his life. Putin maintains close ties with the Chabad movement. It could be argued that Putin’s public embrace of the Jews has contributed to the decline in antisemitism in Russia in recent years. Of course, none of this makes his war Kosher.

"Many of Ukraine’s national heroes, from Stepan Bandera to Bogdan Khmelnitsky are drenched in Jewish blood. But these butchers aren’t consigned to history. As Ukrainian nationalism rises, they are celebrated in today’s Ukraine, with dozens of statues, parades, street signs and even a bank note. The neo-Nazi Azov brigades form part of the Ukrainian National Guard.

"It’s Zelensky, married to a Christian and who reportedly had his children baptized, who has repeatedly attempted to make this a Jewish issue. Zelensky told Jewish leaders that Russia bombed the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial, a claim later revealed to be untrue. He made a similar dubious claim about the Jewish pilgrimage site of Uman.

"Ukraine’s President has attempted to drag Israel into the conflict on numerous occasions, and lashed out with a special venom reserved for Israel when it hasn’t gone his way. He accused Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet of ‘not being wrapped in our flag’. That’s the same religiously observant Bennet, who broke Shabbat flying to Russia attempting to negotiate peace.

"Zelensky demanded to speak at Yad Vashem. When this was rebuffed, a Ukrainian official called it a corrupt institution. Zelensky did speak to the Israeli Knesset, though some Arab MKs boycotted his speech. He again compared Ukraine’s situation to the Holocaust and urged Israelis to help Ukraine in the same way the Ukrainian nation helped Jews during World War II. Needless to say, his Holocaust revisionism did not go down well in Israel...."

Jew-hate and America-hate are a large part of Der Spiegel’s raison d’être. They wouldn’t know objective, unslanted reported if it dropped a steaming pile of fresh horse apples onto their collective shoes.

"If I can't convince them they are wrong, I might as well make some money out of them," argued Dimitar, a Bulgarian man who spent years earning income from spreading disinformation and fake news at home.

It was this thought that set Dimitar, who would not give DW his real name for fear of repercussions, on the road to becoming an administrator of what he calls a "fake news website" in Bulgaria. The "them" he is talking about are people who fall for disinformation online. Making money out of them turned out to be easier than he ever imagined.

#1  Yup, we've got it in America too. Here's a piece about the deeper psychological motivations behind those who cling to fake news and won't let go.

People Who Defend Empire Narratives Are Really Just Defending Their Worldview From Destruction. If you consider the possibility that the news media and their government are lying about Ukraine, you must necessarily consider the possibility that they're lying about other things, too.

UN did not confirm Ukraine's accusations against Russia of stealing grain
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA Novosti] The UN does not have confirmation of Ukraine's statements about the alleged theft of grain by Russia, said the representative of the secretary general of the organization Stefan Dujarric.

"We are in contact with the office of the World Food Program, they do not confirm these accusations," he said at a press conference.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that there were no problems with the export of grain from Ukraine . In addition, he called the allegations that Moscow allegedly hinders the transportation of food, a bluff. The head of state called on Kiev to clear the ports for the safe passage of ships.

Putin noted that grain can also be exported along the Danube through Romania , Hungary and Poland . The cheapest way is through Belarus , but for this you need to lift sanctions, he explained.

However, on Monday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky refused to export grain through Belarus and help "friendly" neighbors.

#1  Belarus allowed Russian troops passage on their way to invade. Why should the Ukraine trade with them?

#2  Unfortunately “UKRAINE” doesn’t have choices, Ukraine will cease to exist in the nexts weeks or months. Right now it’s just noise, It’s over! Capisci.
Did you really think that everything will be as was?
Germans Italian French and the rest cannot compete in the world without Russian resources. Using American resources will put them out of business.
Russia will not permit this to repeat, if the euro wants to keep their standards of life, trading with Russia will demand the American/European military alliances to be terminated.
You will see, in the nexts few months the European military and political detachment from the North American sphere. The CIA screw up biggly…..
Belarus will own a big chunk of that land that’s was called Ukraine.

Ain't gonna happen. I can see them maybe pinching off a little along their common border, but central Ukraine is flat and undefendable. Not the place to fight the Poles/NATO.
