[IsraelTimes] A member of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force was killed in a drone strike in southern Lebanon’s Beit Lif earlier today, the IDF says.

More than 180 Hezbollah operatives have been killed in Israeli strikes since the start of the November 2024 ceasefire in Lebanon.

Europe
Trial opens for 3 ‘French’ boys charged with antisemitic gang rape of Jewish girl
The three attackers beat the girl and "forcibly penetrated" her while "making death threats and antisemitic remarks," the report said, citing an unnamed police source. One of the suspects was the girl’s former boyfriend, who confessed to the attack and said he had acted out of Dire Revenge after she hid her religious identity from him. Scare quotes in headline mine.
[IsraelTimes] The trial opens today for three French boys charged with the gang rape of a 12-year-old Jewish girl in 2024 outside Gay Paree, a crime that shocked the Jewish community at a time of rising antisemitic attacks.

The trial, which is due to last until Friday, is being held at a juvenile court in Nanterre, a suburb of western Gay Paree.

Two boys, aged 13 at the time, are being tried on charges of the gang rape of a minor on religious grounds. The third, then aged 12, is accused of being complicit in the crime.

All three boys are charged with sexual assault on a minor as well as recording and sharing sexual images, aggravated by being committed on religious grounds.

The girl told police she was approached by the three boys on June 15, 2024, in a park near her home in the northwestern Gay Paree suburb of Courbevoie, close to the La Defense financial district.

She was dragged into a shed where the suspects beat her and "forced" her to have sex "while uttering death threats and antisemitic remarks," one police source had told AFP.

Muriel Ouaknine-Melki, one of the victim’s lawyers, tells the court that their client "expects that the aggressors will be punished for what they did and that the punishment is in line with the gravity of their actions."

Clementine Berthier, the defense lawyer for one of the suspects, says she hopes "the trial would be serene and peaceful for all parties."

Judenfrei: Sarajevo hotel cancels European rabbis’ conference after minister calls to ban event
[IsraelTimes] The Conference of European Rabbis has been forced to relocate its biannual meeting to Munich from Sarajevo, after a Bosnian government minister called to "ban the European Jewish event from its city," says the body’s president, Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, the former chief rabbi of Moscow.

The CER’s biannual meeting was set to be held at a hotel in Sarajevo next week, "to discuss the most pressing issues facing European Jewish life today and matters of freedom of religion or belief," Goldschmidt writes in a tweet. "Shockingly, the hotel has suddenly canceled on us."

The cancellation follows an open letter published by Bosnian Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delic, in which he calls on "citizens and civil society organizations not to remain silent in the face of this attempt to morally humiliate our capital and our country."

He also reportedly refers in the letter to Israel as a "genocidal entity" committing "shameful crimes against humanity."

"We have been made unwelcome and this last-minute ministerial boycott of Jewish European citizens, dedicated purely to promoting Jewish life in Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and furthering dialogue and democracy across the continent, is disgraceful," says Goldschmidt, noting that the CER has heard nothing from other Bosnian government officials.

US Justice Department sues Palestinian cafe in California for refusing to serve Jews
[IsraelTimes] Lawsuit alleges Jerusalem Coffee House in Oakland told Jewish customers to leave on two occasions; also served ‘Sweet Sinwar’ drink to mark Oct. 7 massacre anniversary

The US Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against a California cafe, alleging that it discriminated against Jewish customers by refusing to serve them.

It accuses the Jerusalem Coffee House in Oakland of telling Jewish patrons to leave the premises, in violation of civil rights laws.

“It is illegal, intolerable, and reprehensible for any American business open to the public to refuse to serve Jewish customers,” Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said in a Monday statement, the day the suit was filed.

It was submitted to the US District Court for the Northern District of California under Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which enables prosecutors to obtain “injunctive relief that changes policies and practices to remedy the discriminatory conduct,” but not monetary damages for the discrimination victims, the statement noted.

Court documents allege that on two separate occasions, cafe owner Fathi Abdulrahim Harara ordered Jewish customers to leave the eatery. The customers were identified as Jewish “because they were wearing baseball caps with Stars of David on them,” according to the statement.

On one occasion, an employee at the cafe told a man, “You’re the guy with the hat. You’re the Jew. You’re the Zionist. We don’t want you in our coffee shop. Get out.”

In the second incident, Harara was said to have accused a Jewish customer, who was with his five-year-old son, of wearing a “Jewish star,” being a “Zionist,” and supporting “genocide.” Harara repeatedly told them to leave and “falsely accused” them of trespassing to the police.

“Neither customer stated anything about their political views to Harara or any other employees while at the coffee house,” the statement noted.

Pro-Hamas cafe in Oakland, Calif: The Jerusalem Coffee House is run by a pro-Hamas extremist named Abdulrahim Harara. The cafe unveiled an Oct. 7 celebration menu that features drinks honoring Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and the terrorist "intifada" attacks in Israel.

The lawsuit also alleges that on the first anniversary of the devastating Hamas-led October 7, 2023, invasion of Israel, the Jerusalem Coffee House announced it would be serving two new drinks: “Sweet Sinwar,” a reference to the late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who masterminded the attack that killed 1,200 people, and “Iced In Tea Fada,” named after “intifada,” the word denoting Palestinian uprisings, the second of which killed some 1,000 Israelis two decades ago.

In addition, the lawsuit notes that an exterior side wall of the coffee house displays inverted red triangles, “a symbol of violence against Jews that has been spray-painted on Jewish homes and synagogues in anti-Semitic attacks.”

The symbol is used in Hamas propaganda videos to indicate military targets. At the time that the new drinks were announced, last October, reports said that the red triangles also featured in the menu’s design motif.

“The Justice Department is committed to combating anti-Semitism and discrimination and protecting the civil rights of all Americans,” Dhillon said in the statement.

The Hamas attack triggered the ongoing Gaza war. Israeli forces killed Sinwar during fighting in the coastal enclave last year.

Jerusalem Coffee House opened in 2023 and, according to the publication Eater, is owned by Abdulrahim “Raheem” Harara, whose parents were born in Gaza. The café serves food and drink inspired by Palestinian cuisine. It also hosts fundraisers for the Palestinian Children Relief Fund, various workshops related to Palestinian culture, and events for the Muslim community and local activists.
The owner supports Palestinian causes and Antifa, so a little bit of tracing where they sent money should show connections to Hamas and other jihadi groups.

Iran executes man over 2022 protest killings; activists say he was framed
[IsraelTimes] Dissidents and human rights groups say Abbas Kourkouri was tortured into confessing to killing seven people who were likely shot by security forces

activists say he was tortured into confessing to killings likely carried out by security services.

The hanging of Abbas Kourkouri, also known as Mojahed Kourkouri, marks the first execution in nearly a year for someone arrested in the 2022 protests surrounding the death of Amini, who were tossed into the calaboose by police allegedly over not wearing her hijab to their liking.

Her death sparked months of demonstrations. Even today, some women refuse to wear their headscarves in public, openly defying a hijab law instituted by the country’s theocracy.

It’s unclear why authorities chose now to execute Kourkouri, 42, though tensions have been rising regionally over Iran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program, and the result of talks with the United States remains uncertain.

Iran is one of the world’s top executioners and has been cracking down in other ways on dissidents in the time since the Amini demonstrations.

Kourkouri "was sentenced to death without a fair trial and without access to a lawyer of his choice," said Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam of the Oslo-based group Iran Human Rights, which tallied an average of one execution in the Islamic Theocratic Republic every six hours over the last eight months.

SHOOTING HAPPENED DURING AMINI PROTESTS
Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency reported at the time that on November 16, 2022, two button men on cycle of violences shot at protesters and security personnel gathered at the central market in the southwestern city of Izeh in the country’s restive, oil-rich Khuzestan province.

The assault killed seven people, including a nine-year-old boy. It maimed three coppers and two members of the Basij, the all-volunteer arm of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

The death of the nine-year-old, named Kian Pirfalak, drew anger from Iranians, particularly after his family reportedly said it was security forces — not other button men — who opened fire.

Kourkouri was accused of being one of the button men and subsequently charged with a spate of offenses, including "moharebeh" — an Islamic term meaning waging a battle against God.

Authorities arrested him in December 2022 after reportedly shooting him in the leg. Activists say he was denied medical treatment beyond the bullet’s removal.

State media described Kourkouri as a drug pusher and "instigator" with a history of bully boy beliefs. But rights advocates say he isn’t the violent mostly peaceful person authorities have made him out to be, and was himself an innocent protester.

"He was arrested during the ’Woman, Life, Freedom’ protests, and the Islamic Theocratic Republic authorities attempted to blame him" for the attack, Amiry-Moghaddam said.

He added that the slain boy’s parents and uncle believed Iranian security forces were responsible.

The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency, which also monitors Iran, similarly dismissed the Iranian government’s claims.

"While authorities continue to describe the events of November 16 in Izeh as a ’terrorist attack,’ eyewitnesses and the families of victims have presented accounts that contradict the government’s narrative," it said Wednesday.

The group quoted Kian’s mother as saying: "On our way home, officers opened fire on our car."

State media earlier broadcast videos of Kourkouri taking blame for the attack. But Amnesty International said that authorities subjected him to solitary confinement and coerced his confessions, and that he wasn’t at the scene at the time of the killings.

One videotaped confession that had been aired on state TV showed Kourkouri in bed with his arm visibly bandaged and bloody, the rights group said. The footage resembled that of many other suspected coerced confessions broadcast by the Iranian broadcaster.

Kourkouri’s death brings the tally of executions related to violence at the Amini protests up to 11. The last such execution came 10 months ago, after Reza Resaei, 34, was sentenced to death over the killing of a security officer. Rights groups also said his confession was forced.

IRAN STILL FACES DISSENT YEARS LATER
On the streets of Iranian cities, it’s becoming increasingly common to see a woman pass by without a mandatory hijab, as the third anniversary of the death of Mahsa Amini and the mass protests it sparked approaches this fall.

The government has targeted private businesses where women are seen without their headscarves. Surveillance cameras search for women uncovered in vehicles to fine and impound their cars, and authorities have gone as far as to use aerial drones to monitor women.

The country’s reformist President Masoud Pezeshkian campaigned on a promise to curb the morality police’s harassment of women. But the country’s ultimate authority rests with its 86-year-old Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...>
Khamenei has in the past said "unveiling is both religiously forbidden and politically forbidden."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel holding two Gaza boat activists in solitary confinement, NGO claims
[IsraelTimes] Brazilian Thiago Avila and French-Palestinian EU lawmaker Rima Hassan said sent to separate prisons; activists seeking attention on the back of Gazan suffering, says French PM

The legal organization representing most of the activists detained aboard an intercepted Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
-bound aid boat said Wednesday that Israeli authorities had placed two of the campaigners in solitary confinement.

"Israeli authorities transferred two of the volunteers — the Brazilian volunteer Thiago Avila and the French-Paleostinian European Parliament member Rima Hassan — to separate prison facilities, away from the others, and placed them in solitary confinement," Israeli rights group Adalah said in a statement.

When asked for comment, the Israel Prison Authority referred AFP to the Foreign Ministry, which said it was checking the reports.

Hassan and Avila are among 12 activists who tried to sail to Gaza in an attempt to break Israel’s naval blockade of the Strip earlier this week.

The Israeli Navy intercepted the Madleen sailboat on Monday, detaining the activists off the coast of Gaza. The interception followed repeated warnings against attempting to sail to the enclave.

Eight of the activists remain in Israeli custody after they refused to sign paperwork agreeing to leave the country. They are expected to be deported later this week.

The other four, including two French citizens and Swedish campaigner Greta "Pippi" Thunberg
...an autistic sixteen year old Swedish expert on climate change, though I guess she's older now...
, left the country after agreeing to be deported immediately and being banned from Israel for 100 years.

Hassan and three other French activists were slated for deportation by the end of the week, on Thursday and Friday, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said in an X post Wednesday.

It is unclear when exactly the other four, including Avila, will be expelled from Israel.

In Gay Paree on Wednesday, French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou accused Hassan and the other French activists of capitalizing on the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict for political attention.

"These activists obtained the effect they wanted, but it’s a form of instrumentalization to which we should not lend ourselves," Bayrou said in the National Assembly, in response to LFI leader Mathilde Panot’s accusation that the prime minister failed to condemn Israel’s actions.

It’s "through diplomatic action, and efforts to bring together several states to pressure the Israeli government, that we can obtain the only possible solution" to the conflict, he added. "In no way whatsoever do the gesticulations of Ms. Rima Hassan, her instrumentalization of the suffering of Gazooks, help to achieve these goals."

He said the French consul has visited all four French activists in Israeli detention.

Milei, visiting Knesset, says Argentina to move its embassy to Jerusalem in 2026
Unadulterated happy news.
[IsraelTimes] Argentinian president warmly welcomed by Netanyahu, Ohana and Lapid, who all praise his pro-Israel stance, welcome him as a ’true friend’

Argentinian President Javier Milei, who is on a three-day visit to Israel, spoke at a special Knesset plenum session held in his honor on Wednesday, at which he announced that his country would move its embassy from the Tel Aviv area to Jerusalem next year.

He was warmly welcomed in the Knesset by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana and Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, all of whom effusively praised the warm ties that have developed between Israel and Argentina

under his leadership.

"Javier, you are a true friend. With this visit, we are bringing our relations to new heights. 12,000 kilometers separate Buenos Aires, Israel and the Knesset in Jerusalem," Netanyahu said to the visiting South American leader. "This great distance is compensated for by the closeness of our hearts."

Milei, who first announced his intention to move the embassy during his first state visit to Israel in February 2024, announced in the Knesset plenum that "in 2026 we will make effective the move of our embassy to the city of West Jerusalem."

The embassy is currently located in Herzliya, just outside Tel Aviv.

Milei opened his remarks on a somber note, addressing the October 7, 2023, Hamas

murderous Moslems during the onslaught, the military said.

The second hostage, whose name was set to be permitted for publication at a later time, was also kidnapped from Nir Oz and murdered during the onslaught. His family was notified that the body had been recovered.

The operation to recover the bodies was carried out by the army’s 36th Division and was "enabled by precise intelligence" obtained by the military’s Hostages Headquarters unit, the Military Intelligence Directorate, and the Shin Bet, the Israel Defense Forces said.

After the bodies were brought to Israel and identified at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, also known as Abu Kabir, officials notified their families and the kibbutz.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered his condolences in a statement, saying: "Together with all citizens of Israel, my wife and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their dearest loved ones."

"We will not rest until we return all our hostages home, the living and dead," he added.

Defense Minister Israel Katz said, "returning the bodies of the [slain hostages] during the expanded ground maneuver was set as one of the goals of the operation."

Nir Oz was one of the worst-hit communities during Hamas’s October 7 terror onslaught.

In all, 47 people were killed in the kibbutz during the onslaught. Another 76 were kidnapped by the murderous Moslems to Gaza. Currently, four hostages are presumed alive, and the bodies of five captives from Nir Oz remain held in the Strip.

Yaakov, 59, and his partner, Meirav Tal, were kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, as Hamas murderous Moslems assaulted the community. Yaakov’s sons, Or and Yagil, were also taken captive from their mother’s nearby Nir Oz home.

Tal and Yaakov’s sons were released in a November 2023 hostage deal with Hamas.

Yagil thanked Israel’s security forces for recovering his father’s body in a post on Instagram. He expressed his hope that the remaining hostages will be returned "through a deal that doesn’t endanger soldiers."

Meanwhile,

on Wednesday, an Israeli television report claimed that Israel formulated a response to the latest offer in the ongoing hostage-ceasefire negotiations with Hamas that includes some flexibility but maintains its demand not to end the war.

According to the unsourced report in Channel 12 news, Israel is offering flexibility in the timeline of the release of hostages, as well as in lengthening the period of time of a ceasefire.

The report claimed, however, that Israel is standing firm on its refusal to agree to a permanent end to the war, and is also demanding to continue to control the distribution of humanitarian aid in the Strip.

The TV report said that the latest amendments were formulated in a limited meeting of officials last night that included Katz and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer.

The latest US proposal offered a 60-day truce in the war-torn Gaza Strip, accompanied by a partial Israeli military withdrawal and increased humanitarian aid deliveries, in exchange for the release of 10 living hostages and 18 deceased hostages. Hamas’s response to the offer included a demand that would make it more difficult for Israel to resume fighting if talks on a permanent ceasefire were not completed by the end of the 60-day truce.

Channel 12 also reported that several unnamed senior ministers have begun to speak out about the need to end the war against Hamas, citing the "diplomatic damage" being caused by the lengthy fighting and the enormous damage in Gaza.

Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are now holding 53 hostages, including 52 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led murderous Moslems on October 7, 2023.

They include the bodies of at least 31 confirmed dead by the IDF, and 20 are believed to be alive. There are grave concerns for the well-being of two others, Israeli officials have said.

Hamas released 30 hostages — 20 Israeli civilians, five soldiers, and five Thai nationals — and the bodies of eight slain Israeli captives during a ceasefire between January and March, and one additional hostage, a dual American-Israeli citizen, in May as a "gesture" to the United States.

The terror group freed 105 civilians during a weeklong truce in late November 2023, and four hostages were released before that in the early weeks of the war. In exchange, Israel has freed some 2,000 incarcerated
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
Paleostinian terrorists, security prisoners, and Gazook terror suspects detained during the war.

Eight hostages have been rescued from captivity by troops alive, and the bodies of 46 have also been recovered, including three mistakenly killed by the Israeli military as they tried to escape their captors, and the body of a soldier who was killed in 2014.

The body of another soldier killed in 2014, Lt. Hadar Goldin, is still being held by Hamas, and is counted among the 53 hostages.

Former CIA analyst sentenced to 37 months in prison for leaking Israeli attack plans
Whether he acted to spite Israel or to help Iran, if Iran gets nukes he will own the outcome. And if Mossad finds him later, he’ll deserve whatever follows.
[IsraelTimes] Asif Rahman faced up to 20 years behind bars for leak of top secret files outlining Israel’s preparations to strike Iran in retaliation for ballistic missile attack

was sentenced to 37 months in prison on Wednesday, the Justice Department said.

Asif Rahman, 34, who worked for the Central Intelligence Agency since 2016 and held a top secret security clearance, was arrested by the FBI in Cambodia in November.

In January, Rahman pleaded guilty at a federal courthouse in Virginia to two counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information.

He faced a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

Iran unleashed a wave of close to 200 ballistic missiles on Israel on October 1 in retaliation for the killings of senior figures in the Tehran-backed Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
and Hezbollah terrorist groups.

Israel responded with a wave of strikes on military targets in Iran in late October.

According to a court filing, on October 17 Rahman printed out two top secret documents "regarding a United States foreign ally and its planned kinetic actions against a foreign adversary."

He photographed the documents and used a computer program to edit the images in "an attempt to conceal their source and delete his activity," it said.

Rahman then transmitted the documents to "multiple individuals he knew were not entitled to receive them" before shredding them at work.

The documents, circulated on the Telegram app by an account called Middle East Spectator, described Israeli preparations for a possible strike on Iran but did not identify any actual targets.

According to The Washington Post, the documents, generated by the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, described aviation exercises and movements of munitions at an Israeli airfield.

The leak led Israeli officials to delay their retaliatory strike.

Katz urges Egypt to block Gaza-bound activist convoys
[IsraelTimes] Cairo says it backs ‘pressure on Israel’ to lift blockade but stresses foreigners seeking to visit border with Strip must receive official approval

Defense Minister Israel Katz on Wednesday called on Egypt to block two pro-Paleostinian activist convoys planning to head to Egypt’s Rafah border crossing with Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. "I expect the Egyptian authorities to prevent the arrival of jihadist protesters at the Egypt-Israel border and not to allow them to carry out provocations or attempt to enter Gaza," Katz said in a statement.

Katz added that such actions "would endanger the safety of (Israeli) soldiers and will not be allowed."

His comments came as hundreds of pro-Paleostinian activists on a Gaza-bound convoy arrived in the Libyan capital, driving eastward with the stated aim of breaking Israel’s blockade of the Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
-ruled Paleostinian territory.

The Soumoud convoy — meaning steadfastness in Arabic — left Tunis in buses and cars on Monday, hoping to pass through divided Libya and Egypt, which organizers say has yet to provide passage permits, to reach Gaza.

Egypt said on Wednesday that it backs efforts to put "pressure on Israel" to lift its blockade on Gaza, but added that any foreign delegations seeking to visit the border area must receive prior approval through official channels.

Egypt "asserts the importance of putting pressure on Israel to end the blockade on the (Gaza) Strip," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

It added that Egypt "will not consider any requests or respond to any invitations submitted outside the framework defined by the regulatory guidelines and the mechanisms followed in this regard."

The Sinai Peninsula is a tightly controlled security zone, with access routes frequently punctuated by military and police checkpoints.

DETENTIONS
After 20 months of war sparked by the Hamas-led October 2023 terror onslaught, Israel is facing mounting international pressure to allow more aid into Gaza to alleviate widespread shortages of food and basic supplies.

The United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
has claimed Gaza was "the hungriest place on Earth."

Another activist group, the Global March to Gaza, which is coordinating with Soumoud, said it is organizing a separate mobilization starting in Cairo on Friday.

Organizers told AFP on Wednesday that around 4,000 participants are expected to join the march, adding they are not planning to enter Gaza.

According to the plan, activists would travel by bus to the city of Arish in northern Sinai before walking on foot for 50 kilometers (30 miles) to the Gaza border.

Participants would then camp near the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing for a few days and return to Cairo on June 19.

Catherine Le Scolan-Quere, spokesperson for the group’s French delegation, said that several Frenchies who arrived in Egypt to take part in the event were detained in their hotels or upon arrival at Cairo airport.

Carolie Laghouati, a 39-year-old French nurse, said her friend along with nine others were detained by the Egyptian police at Cairo airport.

"We’re locked up here, they tell us not to leave, they don’t tell us what’s going on, our passports are confiscated," said her friend in a video sent to AFP.

The spokesperson of the French delegation hoped the permits would be issued "quickly" by the Egyptian embassy in Gay Paree and the French embassy in Cairo.

Fifth Column
US judge says Trump can’t cite foreign policy as grounds to detain Columbia activist
[IsraelTimes] Court delays release of Mahmoud Khalil until Friday to give time to appeal, notes government is also arguing he was employed by UNRWA but omitted this on visa application

The Trump administration cannot use US foreign policy interests to justify its detention of Columbia University student and pro-Paleostinian activist Mahmoud Khalil,
…at age 30 the Damascus-born Palestinian (with dual Algerian citizenship through his mother, whose family were revolutionaries back home) got a Masters in Paleo protest from Columbia, applying his training as Apartheid Divest’s frontman supporting Hamas since 10/8/2023, which overlapped his work as a UNWRA political affairs officer. Since his arrest by ICE he’s been represented by 19 attorneys, including CUNY law prof Ramzi Kassem, himself a Paleo student activist at Columbia back in the day, and the ACLU. Mr. Khalil worked his way through college in Beirut as a popular, MI-6 vetted local staffer at the British embassy leading soft power projects, on one of which he worked with his future wife — Leb-American dentist Noor Abdalla, who interestingly is a hijabi, suggesting either Muslim Brotherhood or Hezbollah connections. No doubt it was for her sake he went to Columbia instead of Oxford…
a judge ruled on Wednesday, but stopped short of ordering Khalil’s immediate release.

US District Judge Michael Farbiarz in Newark, New Jersey, said his ruling would not take effect until Friday morning local time to give the administration the chance to appeal.

Farbiarz wrote that the administration was violating Khalil’s right to free speech by detaining and trying to deport him under a little-used provision of US immigration law granting the US secretary of state the power to seek the deportation of any non-citizen whose presence in the country is deemed adverse to US foreign policy interests.

"The petitioner’s career and reputation are being damaged and his speech is being chilled," Farbiarz wrote. "This adds up to irreparable harm."

The judge also barred the administration from deporting Khalil on the grounds that his presence was allegedly adverse to US foreign policy.

"This is the news we’ve been waiting over three months for," Khalil’s wife, Noor Abdalla, said Wednesday. "Mahmoud must be released immediately and safely returned home to New York to be with me and our newborn baby, Deen."

Farbiarz noted in his ruling that the government has also argued it is detaining and deporting Khalil in part because of alleged omissions on his green card application.

But the judge said evidence presented by his attorneys showed lawful permanent residents are virtually never detained for such a thing.

Khalil, in his statement to the court last week, also disputed that he wasn’t forthcoming on the application.

For example, he said he was never employed by or served as an "officer" of the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees, as the administration claims, but completed an internship approved by the university as part of his graduate studies.

Neither the State Department nor the Justice Department, which represents the administration in court, immediately responded to requests for comment.

Khalil was arrested on March 8 after the State Department revoked his green card. He has since been held in immigration detention in Louisiana.

Khalil was the first known foreign student to be arrested as part of Republican President Donald Trump

Khalil isn’t accused of breaking any laws during the protests at Columbia, but the Trump administration has argued that noncitizens who participate in such demonstrations should be expelled from the country. They say such protesters express views that are antisemitic and pro-Hamas.

Gaza aid group says Hamas killed at least 5 local staffers, possibly abducted others
[IsraelTimes] GHF says operatives attacked bus ferrying workers to distribution site, while Hamas-linked accounts say terror group targeted members of Israel-backed clan, which it denies

The Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
Humanitarian Foundation said Wednesday that Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
operatives attacked a bus transporting its local Gazook staffers, killing at least five, injuring others and potentially taking some hostage.

The bus was ferrying the staffers to one of GHF’s aid distribution sites near the southern Gaza Strip’s Khan Younis at around 10 p.m. on Wednesday when it came under attack, a GHF statement said.

The statement noted that GHF was still working to gather the facts on what unfolded and a spokesperson didn’t immediately provide any corroborating evidence.

Hamas-linked social media accounts published a statement on what they said was the terror group’s attack on members of the Israel-backed Abu Shabaab clan in which five people were killed and 12 more were maimed.

It was not immediately possible to verify the identities of those killed. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
a Facebook page run by the Abu Shabaab clan issued a statement denying that its members were targeted by Hamas.

"This attack did not happen in a vacuum. For days, Hamas has openly threatened our team, our aid workers, and the civilians who receive aid from us. These threats were met with silence," GHF said, adding that the attack will not deter the organization’s efforts to provide aid to Paleostinians in Gaza.

Hamas has pushed for the resumption of aid distribution through UN-backed mechanisms, which Israel and the US say allowed the terror group to divert much of the aid. The UN has denied this, while arguing that the GHF model for aid distribution endangers Paleostinians, by forcing them to walk long distances across IDF lines in order to pick up boxes of food.

Red Thingy and Hamas-linked health officials have reported near-daily mass-casualty incidents involving Paleostinians trekking to aid sites since GHF’s launch on May 26. The IDF has acknowledged on at least eight different occasions that it fired "warning shots" that struck those who strayed off the pre-approved access routes.

GHF said Wednesday it has distributed roughly 271,200 boxes of aid to date, but they are largely filled with dry food products that need to be prepared elsewhere.

An average of 65 aid trucks have entered Gaza each day since Israel partially lifted its blockade on May 19, but the World Food Program says roughly 300 trucks a day are needed to properly serve Gaza’s population, which IDF officials acknowledged was on the brink of starvation before it resumed allowing aid in last month after a 78-day blockade.

The UN and other humanitarian organizations have argued that neutralizing the threat of looting requires flooding Gaza with as much aid as possible so demand and costs go down, rather than rationing assistance as Israel has done over the past month.

Just before 3 a.m. Thursday local time, GHF issued an additional statement updating Gazooks that it had just finished distributing boxes of food at its central Gaza site, even though the IDF has repeatedly warned Paleostinians not to approach aid sites before 6 a.m.

The GHF announcement was made on its Arabic Facebook page, which it uses to communicate with Paleostinians about operating hours at the distribution sites.

A GHF spokesperson did not explain why the Israeli- and US-backed organization appeared to be distributing aid overnight, when the IDF has cautioned Paleostinians against walking to the sites. It has done so on several other occasions over the past two and a half weeks of operation.

Hours earlier, footage of a GHF aid site being completely overrun by Gazooks upon opening on Tuesday had gone viral on social media. The scene highlighted the chaos that has plagued GHF aid distribution sites since their launch.

Israel says 108 humanitarian aid trucks carrying flour, food entered Gaza Strip yesterday

[IsraelTimes] The Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announces that 108 humanitarian aid trucks carrying flour and food entered the Gaza Strip yesterday.

Israel resumed aid deliveries to Gaza on May 19, after a pause since March 2. Since then, 1,459 trucks have entered the Strip.

Some of the truckloads have been taken to the new aid distribution sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The contents of many of the trucks that entered Gaza in recent weeks are still awaiting collection on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom crossing.

The aid underwent an inspection by Israeli authorities before entering Gaza via the crossing.

Bill to disperse Knesset fails to advance after Haredi factions agree to withhold support
Once again Bibi survives absolutely certain political death. The man has more lives than a cat.
[IsraelTimes] The opposition-backed bill to disperse the Knesset fails to pass its preliminary plenum reading, with lawmakers voting it down 61-53 after most Haredi lawmakers agree not to support the proposal.

Lawmakers from Agudath Israel faction split after the Hasidic faction said it would back the bill, with two of its MKs voting in favor of disbanding parliament and one opposing the measure.

The failure of the bill to pass means the opposition cannot again file a motion to disband parliament for another six months.

Blast at Iran petrochemical site leaves 3 dead, 10 injured
Allah’s will, or something else?
[Rudaw] At least three people have been killed and ten others injured after a large blast rocked a petrochemical complex in Iran’s southern Bushehr Province on Wednesday. The incident comes just two months after another explosion killed around 60 people and injured hundreds others at a port in the south of the country.

Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency reported that “a fire at the Kaveh Petrochemical Complex in Bandar Dayyer, Bushehr Province, left three dead and ten injured.” Hassan Mousavi, head of prehospital emergency care for the province, said the incident was sparked by “a fire at a methanol storage tank.”

“The number of casualties may rise due to the severity of the fire,” Mousavi added.

The semi-official Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), cited Mojtaba Khaledi, the spokesperson for the Iranian Red Crescent, as stating that “the incident occurred at around 11:05 a.m. [local time] on Wednesday.” He confirmed that “three people were killed” and noted that “two more people are still trapped on the ship,” carrying the methanol tank.

Tasnim also quoted Kourosh Dehghan, director general of crisis management for Bushehr Province, who stated that the explosion was caused by welding operations on the ship.

Petro Kaveh Industrial Group’s methanol complex in Bushehr is among the world’s largest single-train methanol facilities, producing 7,000 tons of methanol per day.

Bushehr Province, situated along the Persian Gulf, is a key economic region for Iran. It hosts major ports, lies close to the South Pars gas field - the world’s largest natural gas reserve - and includes the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. The province is central to Iran’s petrochemical production and energy exports, making it vital to Iran’s national energy security.

Wednesday’s deadly incident follows a massive explosion two months earlier at the Shahid Rajaee port in Bandar Abbas, located in Iran’s southern Hormozgan Province, where nearly 60 people were killed and around 1,000 injured.

The port, a major commercial hub for Iran, processes approximately 70 million tons of goods annually and sits along the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a passageway for nearly one-fifth of global oil output.

Top US commander reports 'sticking points' in SDF's integration into Damascus forces
[Rudaw] US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Michael "Erik" Kurilla acknowledged on Tuesday there are some “sticking points” in ongoing efforts to integrate the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the new Syrian security apparatus.

“I would tell you it's actually going well right now there's some sticking points but what's happening is you have the Syrian Kurds are talking directly to [Syrian interim President Ahmed] al-Sharaa and the Syrian government right now,” Kurilla said when Congressman Abe Hamadeh asked him about SDF’s integration during a congressional hearing.

“Turkey has played a positive role in that as well but I think that we're on a good path right now,” he added.

Turkey, a longtime supporter of the anti-Assad Syrian opposition, emerged as a key ally of the new Syrian leadership. Ankara considers the People’s Protection Units (YPG), backbone of the SDF, as the Syrian offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) - which announced its dissolution in mid-May as part of ongoing peace talks with the Turkish government. The process has eased tensions between the SDF and Ankara.

Regarding integrating other minorities into Damascus institutions, Kurilla said the US is currently focused on the Kurds in northeast Syria (Rojava) for now.

SDF is the de facto army in Rojava and the global coalition's main ally on the ground in the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS).

In early December, a coalition of opposition groups, led by the now-dissolved Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) - then-led by Sharaa - toppled the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad in a swift offensive.

By late January, the new authorities in Damascus had disbanded the Syrian army and the long-ruling Baathist Party, annulled the constitution, and formed an interim government headed by Sharaa.

Sharaa and SDF chief Mazloum Abdi signed a landmark agreement on March 10, which included the integration of the SDF and Rojava institutions into the interim government. The deal has been welcomed by regional and international countries, including Turkey. However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan recently called on both sides to accelerate the process.

ISIS has tried to take advantage of the shifted security and political landscape in Syria. The SDF has reported a dramatic increase in ISIS activities in Syria, especially in the eastern province of Deir ez-Zor.

Kurilla reaffirmed that the global coalition partners are on the front lines, where “they remain crucial to the enduring defeat of ISIS battling the group across their respective countries as well as enabling the repatriation of ISIS detainees and displaced persons.”

Also on Tuesday, the global coalition member states affirmed their commitment in combating ISIS in post-Assad Syria during an anti-ISIS meeting in Madrid.

“The members addressed the ISIS/Daesh security risks in Syria, including those associated with detained ISIS/Daesh fighters and civilians in displaced persons camps in the northeast. They affirmed the Coalition’s continuing commitment to counter ISIS/Daesh in post-Assad Syria, including through increased border security and information sharing and the return and repatriation of Syrians, Iraqis, and third country nationals to their communities and countries of origin,” read a joint statement by the US, UK and Spain.

ERBIL-BAGHDAD TENSIONS
The CENTCOM commander also touched on tensions between Baghdad and Erbil after the Iraqi finance ministry recently said it would halt all budget transfers to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), including salaries for public sector employees for the remainder of the year.

Iraqi Finance Minister Taif Sami accused Erbil of exceeding its share of the 2025 federal budget by over $10 billion, a figure KRG Finance Minister Awat Sheikh Janab said was “made up.”

When asked why the US is still subsidizing Iraq even though it is withholding the public salaries and military equipment of the Kurdistan Region, he said the US ends up “working through them [the disputes], they [the Kurds] end up getting the salaries, they end up getting the equipment,” blaming Iran for the issues.

Salary disputes between the two governments have been ongoing for nearly a decade.

“Despite all of the the setbacks that Iran has been facing the last few months I think Iran is trying to double down on getting their grip inside of Iraq but I think Iraq is a sovereign nation and they don't want to be a vassal state of Iran, of course, although there's a lot of Iranian militias currently still operating Iraq,” he noted.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce emphasized, “We urge Baghdad and Erbil to resolve their issues through constructive dialogue, consistent with their constitutional responsibilities.”

Bruce noted that resolving the salary dispute would not only signal political progress but also foster an environment conducive to foreign investment. “A successful resolution would send a signal that Iraq is creating an environment in which US companies would want to invest.”

Bragg Soldiers Who Cheered Trump's Political Attacks While in Uniform Were Checked for Allegiance, Appearance
[Military.com] It was supposed to be a routine appearance, a visit from the commander in chief to rally the troops, boost morale and celebrate the Army's 250th-birthday week, which culminates with a Washington, D.C., parade slated for Saturday.

Instead, what unfolded Tuesday at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, bore little resemblance to the customary visit from a president and defense secretary. There, President Donald Trump unleashed a speech laced with partisan invective, goading jeers from a crowd of soldiers positioned behind his podium -- blurring the long-standing and sacrosanct line between the military and partisan politics.

As Trump viciously attacked his perceived political foes, he whipped up boos from the gathered troops directed at California leaders, including Gov. Gavin Newsom -- amid the president's controversial move to deploy the National Guard and Marines against protesters in Los Angeles -- as well as former President Joe Biden and the press. The soldiers roared with laughter and applauded Trump's diatribe in a shocking and rare public display of troops taking part in naked political partisanship.

Previously Deported Mexican Illegal To Be Charged With Attempted Murder In LA Riots
[Daily Caller] The Trump Administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed on Wednesday that Emiliano Garduno-Galvez, a previously deported illegal migrant from Mexico, will be charged for attempted murder in the ongoing Los Angeles riots.

June 7 footage from the DHS shows Garduno-Galvez lighting a Molotov cocktail behind a tree as officers approached. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Los Angeles arrested Garduno-Galvez on June 9, according to a DHS press release, and he was charged with attempted murder the next day.

Muslim Leader Calls for Killing Americans And Their Leaders
[News With Views] Sa’ad bin Atef al-Awlaki, the newly appointed leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), has issued a call for all of the 4.5 million Muslims living in America to kill Americans and their leaders.

Start date: Sat., June 14. Flag Day for America, when a giant parade is planned in Washington DC.

Donald Trump has stated that Iran is ’much more aggressive than just days ago.’

The man calling for violence follows in the tradition of the Muslim leader, Anwar al-Awlaki, martyred in 2011.

Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, the leading English-language propagandist for al-Qaida, was killed in an American drone strike in 2011. According to the Combating Terrorism center at West Point, his influence has lived on, enhanced by his status as a martyr for Islam in the eyes of his admirers. His death, during Obama’s first term, was the first deliberate killing of a US citizen by his own government via presidential order. (emphasis mine)

Ok, a hunch here. Might this killing have been perpetrated by our own Muslim in the White House at the time, as the ultimate ta’qqia (lie) to get reelected? Obama knew that this act would make the man into a martyr, and strengthen, not weaken the Islamist cause. It would also serve the purpose of "clearing up" the skepticism about Obama’s "true faith".

In a 2008 interview with George Stephanopoulos, you may recall, Obama referred to his "Muslim faith", which he quickly corrected. All sources remind us that Obama has since "consistently identified as a Christian" Whatever.

Let’s get on to business.

Here, from World Population Review, is the 2025 population — BY STATE — of Muslims in America.

Embattled DNC vice chair [David Hogg] decides not to run after diversity re-vote called
[FoxNews] David Hogg, the 25-year-old progressive firebrand, will not compete in the new Democratic National Committee (DNC) vice chair elections that were decided today after a majority of members voted for a new election.

After three days of submitting electronic ballots, DNC members voted to uphold the Credentials Committee's resolution proposed by longtime Democratic Party activist Kalyn Free to host a re-election for two vice-chair positions, currently held by Hogg and Malcolm Kenyatta. Seventy-five percent of those who cast a ballot voted in favor of the resolution, while 25% voted against it. A total of 89% of DNC members cast a ballot.

"The DNC will immediately move to administer new ballots for the final two Vice Chair positions, one of which must be held by a male and one of which may be held by a candidate of any gender," said the DNC's Deputy Press Secretary Nina Raneses. "The election for the male Vice Chair position will commence tomorrow morning at 10:00AM ET."

With Hogg's withdrawal, Kenyatta is now the only candidate for the male vice chair slot.

The DNC's decision is the latest political blow to Hogg, who stirred up intraparty divisions this year for his $20 million pledge to support primary challenges against older House Democrats in safe blue districts he said are "asleep at the wheel" through his outside political action group, Leaders We Deserve.

"I came into this role to play a positive role in creating the change our party needs," Hogg wrote in a statement to the New York Times. "It is clear that there is a fundamental disagreement about the role of a Vice Chair — and it’s OK to have disagreements. What isn’t OK is allowing this to remain our focus when there is so much more we need to be focused on."

"Ultimately, I have decided to not run in this upcoming election so the party can focus on what really matters," Hogg added.

Meanwhile, Hogg also published a lengthy X thread explaining his decision not to run for reelection and criticizing many aspects of the Democratic Party, but deleted it shortly after posting.

Hogg's decision to leave the DNC comes on the heels of a damning Politico report, which included leaked audio from a Zoom meeting of DNC Chair Ken Martin lamenting Hogg's fallout at the DNC, claiming it has made it harder for Democrats to do their jobs and for Martin to demonstrate his ability to lead.

"No one knows who the hell I am, right? I’m trying to get my sea legs underneath of me and actually develop any amount of credibility so I can go out there and raise the money and do the job I need to put ourselves in a position to win," Martin told Hogg on the May 15 Zoom call. "I don’t think you intended this, but you essentially destroyed any chance I have to show the leadership that I need to. So it’s really frustrating,"

But the criticism didn't stop Hogg from defying advice and wading into additional Democrat primaries by endorsing Virginia state Del. Irene Shin in the special election to replace the late Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va.

Martin affirmed the DNC would stay neutral in Democratic primaries following Hogg's multimillion-dollar announcement. And the DNC chair gave Hogg the ultimatum to either rescind his vice-chair position or forego his political influence through his PAC.

"I commend David for his years of activism, organizing, and fighting for his generation, and while I continue to believe he is a powerful voice for this party, I respect his decision to step back from his post as Vice Chair," Martin said in a statement following Hogg's announcement he would not seek reelection as DNC vice chair. "I have no doubt that he will remain an important advocate for Democrats across the map. I appreciate his service as an officer, his hard work, and his dedication to the party."

Fifth Column
How China, Iran and the radical left are undermining America from within
[Washington Times] Every day, we hear in the news that we must prepare to fight China in a kinetic war. It is a foregone conclusion, as our national security officials forgo the use of cognitive skills to seek other options. This is exactly what China, Iran, Russia and our domestic adversaries seek.

It is worse than you think. Our adversaries have four armies inside the United States: the terrorist drug cartels, the radical left fascists such as Black Lives Matter, antifa and far-left Democrats, a Chinese national army nearly 500,000 strong — 300,000 students, 40,000 to more than 60,000 people on work visas, and 100,000 illegals/military-age men — and 30 million other illegal aliens. The enemy is within our borders, and the war has already begun as our adversaries seek to destroy, subvert and sabotage America without firing one shot.

We are losing badly and must wake up. After World War II, we kept the same structure and policies for defense, foreign policy, etc. The Korean War, a stalemate, altered little. Since then, America has lost every war it has fought — Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan — except one: the Cold War. In every other engagement, we may have had kinetic successes but lost the war because we never won in the cognitive domain, altering thought, will or intent.

We won the Cold War because we understood the primary battleground was, is and will remain predominantly a battle in the cognitive domain, that of the human mind and spirit. During the Cold War, we leveraged a whole-of-government approach to strategically communicate. We had a military to deter our enemies and the economy to financially outmaneuver them. Unfortunately, the day we declared victory and started dismantling those capabilities and capacities with the so-called peace dividend, we also lost the Cold War. The oligarchs, despots and dictators assumed power and advanced multiple threats and dilemmas against us, including nuclear capabilities, terrorism, drugs, globalism and bioweapons.

Today, our leaders remain unaware, unprepared and unarmed in fighting this cognitive war, and we are losing badly. Our go-to solution? Apply the kinetic hammer, the only tool in our toolbox. President Trump is trying the economic hammer, but we need more alternatives. We bankrupted the Soviet Union financially and cognitively into submission. Our adversaries are doing the same to us as we fund a trillion-dollar defense budget for a World War II force structure and a weak industrial base and forgo any capabilities, capacity and expertise to fight in the cognitive domain. The existential threat to America is the ongoing cognitive war, which I detail in my book "The Cognitive War: Why We Are Losing and How We Can Win."

For the naysayers who do not think we are already at war, let me provide a few short reminders.

Millions of Americans have been killed by the China flu (COVID-19) and fentanyl.

Irish fury over asylum crisis: How resentment is boiling over nationwide, with thousands attending latest anti-migrant protests following huge surge in refugees and country's pro-Palestine, anti-Israel stance
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Thousands took to the streets of Cork over the weekend for two very different demonstrations - one a pro-Palestine march and the other described as a 'national protest for Ireland'.

Some 3,000 people joined the latter, an anti-immigration rally organised by Ireland Says No - which attendees said signalled a feeling in the country that 'enough is enough'.

Protesters, describing themselves as Irish patriots and nationalists, said they have two main grievances - 'mass migration' and a belief that they have been forgotten by the government.

Footage of the march shows a sea of tricolour flags raised above the crowds, with chants including 'Ireland for the Irish' and 'Whose streets? Our streets!'.

The rally's lead organiser, ultra-nationalist Dublin councillor Malachy Steenson, said that the size of the crowd would instill confidence in people who were concerned about airing their criticisms.

'We don't care what Brussels says,' he told the crowd, 'we are going to take this country and run it for the benefit of its people.'

Speaking before local elections in November, he stated his view on how he felt this could be achieved: 'We need to close the borders and stop any more migrants coming in.'

Recent figures show that Ireland is housing more than 33,000 applicants for what is known as 'international protection', up from 7,244 in 2017.

According to official statistics, the number of Palestinians who applied in 2024 increased by more than 700 per cent from the previous year - when the conflict in Gaza erupted.

The Irish government has been vocal in its support of the Palestinian people, officially recognising the Palestinian state last year and formally intervening in South Africa's International Court of Justice case alleging genocide by Israel in Gaza. Both decisions drew condemnation from Israel. The Irish government was asked whether its show of support would strengthen Palestinian asylum claims, but refused to comment.

The protests in Cork passed peacefully on Saturday, with police dividing the two marches with a barrier and organisers of each encouraging marchers to behave responsibly.

Speaker Derek Blighe, the former president of the Ireland First party who failed to get elected to the Dail in November, told crowds that young Irish people felt they had no choice but to leave the country. He accused the government of putting 'diversity and climate and foreigners first' and said that nationalists wanted to give the Irish diaspora 'a homeland to return to'.

As many as 150,000 people moved to Ireland in 2023-24, Central Statistics Office (CSO) figures revealed, the highest number in 17 years. Around 30,000 of these were returning Irish citizens.

In terms of asylum seekers, alongside arrivals from Africa and the Middle East, 100,000 refugees flocked to the country following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Each costs the country nearly £70 a day, according to estimates - a figure that has increased by a third in two years.

Last month, around a thousand people joined a march in County Donegal's Letterkenny, while several hundred organised a counter-protest. Local independent councillor Seamus Treanor said people living in his ward did not feel safe in their own homes due to heightened levels of anti-social behaviour.

'I want to get one thing straight - the reason we have a housing problem in this county is because our government opened our borders, and invited the whole third world to come in.

'They came in their tens of thousands, and communities like Carrickmacross are suffering the consequences.'

At the end of last year the Irish Refugee Council revealed there were a record 3,001 asylum seekers homeless in Ireland. Pictures of encampments in Dublin and reports last year that a former paint factory was being turned into accommodation for 550 asylum seekers sparked fury among anti-immigration campaigners.

Gardai clashed with hundreds of people at the former Crown Paints factory in Coolock last July. A number of fires were started at the site and dramatic photos showed a digger in flames. The police force charged 15 people in relation to the public order incidents at the north Dublin site.

In November 2023, right wing figures including MMA star Conor McGregor ramped up fury over online misinformation and unsubstantiated rumours that a Algerian migrant had stabbed three children outside a kindergarten in Dublin. Riots exploded in the city, with a bus and tram torched and property destroyed as around 500 thugs rampaged across the city. Some of the rioters started a fire on the ground floor of a Holiday Inn Express following rumours that migrants were staying there. Others reportedly petrol-bombed a nearby refugee centre, with fire crews who responded being 'pelted with projectiles' and beaten with iron rods. Police officers were also attacked, with around 50 sustaining injuries, while one cab driver was punched and dragged from his taxi.

To date, 85 people have been arrested in connection with the November 2023 riots, with 66 charged.

While anti-immigration protests in Ireland have been peaceful in recent weeks, Dublin saw another wave of violence in February, again seemingly fuelled by anger over migration levels. Shocking videos showed Dublin descending into chaos - with knife fights on the streets and mass brawls erupting in residential roads. There were similar scenes of violence in Northern Ireland on Monday night.

Anti-immigration riots erupted in Ballymena after two teenagers of Romanian descent appeared in court accused of attempting to rape a local girl. Social media footage showed homes in Co Antrim on fire after a masked mob lit curtains after windows and doors of terraced properties in the town were caved in.
Four houses were destroyed after 2,500 people gathered in the Harryville area. Two more properties were also damaged and 15 police officers hospitalised. Police have said the violence is being investigated as racially-motivated hate attacks.

Food shortage fears at one of America's biggest grocery chains after huge tech outage hits supply chain
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Whole Foods has issued a warning to customers following a cyberattack on its main supplier.

The supplier, United Natural Foods (UNFI), was forced to shut down certain systems after detecting unauthorized activity on its internal networks in recent days.

As a result, Whole Foods has alerted employees about the potential for food shortages at its more than 500 locations across the US, according to an internal memo obtained by TechCrunch.

The Amazon-owned grocery store added that the cyberattack has impacted UNFI's 'ability to select and ship products from their warehouses,' and that this will 'impact our normal delivery schedules and product availability.'

Whole Foods spokesperson Nathan Cimbala said: 'We are working to restock our shelves as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for customers.'

Shoppers have shared images of their trips to the store, showing that many of the shelves are empty.

Ed Clearly, a Florida native spending the summer in Pennsylvania, posted on X: 'Small sample size of how empty these store shelves were today. Truly remarkable.'

'[I] haven't seen a store like this since a hurricane was barreling towards Florida.'

UNFI said Wednesday that it is slowly restoring its systems, adding that it should increase 'capacity over the coming days.'

The supplier is the largest publicly traded wholesale distributor of 'healthier food options' in the US and Canada, according to its website.

It operates 53 distribution centers and delivers goods to over 30,000 stores.

In May 2024 the company announced an eight-year extension to serve as primary distributor for Amazon-owned Whole Foods.

The memo also provided staff a talking point when dealing with questions from customers, prompting them to only says that UNFI has been experiencing a 'nationwide technology system outage,' according to TechCrunch.

Julie Chang, a California local, was met with empty shelves during her visit to a Whole Foods in San Diego.

'At Whole Foods just now. Lotsa shelves empty I asked what's going on. One of the largest food distributors in the US got cyberattacked,' she posted on X.

'That's troubling the food supply can be disrupted this way.'

The same scene has also been reported in Illinois, Colorado and Florida.

One Whole Food shopper shared that their location 'hasn't had water, eggs, real or milk substitutes for days.'

The grocery store has been forced to display signs where shelves and cases are barren, which read: 'We are experiencing a temporary out of stock issue on some products.'

The company said the incident temporarily hurt its 'ability to fulfill and distribute customer orders.'

'We apologize for the inconvenience and should have your favorite product back in stock soon.'

A Whole Foods spokesperson told Reuters in an email on Monday that the company was 'working to restock our shelves as quickly as possible' and referred additional questions back to United Natural.

UNFI, based in Rhode Island, said in a June 9 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it “proactively” took some systems offline after becoming aware June 5 of unauthorized activity on certain networks.

The company said the incident temporarily hurt its "ability to fulfill and distribute customer orders.” It added that the incident "is expected to continue to cause temporary disruptions" to its operations.

SDF announces capture of suspected ISIS member in Hasaka
[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday that a suspected Islamic State

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (ISIS) member was captured in an earlier operation with US-led coalition forces in northeast Syria’s (Rojava) Hasaka province.

Waddah Marwan Taisan, also known as al-Awdah, was captured in Hasaka’s Til Kochar area, near the Iraqi border, in a "special security operation" with US-led coalition forces on May 22, the SDF said in a statement.

"He managed several Telegram accounts affiliated with the terrorist organization, through which he promoted its bully boy ideology and encouraged youth to join its ranks using fabricated narratives and false claims," the statement added.

The operation came amid an escalation of ISIS attacks in the area, particularly targeting Kurdish-led forces and civilians, with the murderous Moslems seeking to exploit a security vacuum sparked by increased instability following the fall of Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

’s regime.

ISIS and its so-called "caliphate" was territorially defeated in Syria in 2019, two years after its defeat in Iraq, but the group has recently sought to regain ground, especially after the fall of the Assad regime.

The SDF, backed by the United States, is the de facto army of Rojava, and has fought to prevent the murderous Moslems from reestablishing a foothold in the shifting security landscape.

Earlier in June, an SDF operation in the notorious al-Hol camp in Hasaka captured another ISIS operative.

ese doctors' network said on Tuesday, warning of a ''frightening'' spread of malnutrition.

The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have besieged El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, since April 2024, blocking food and humanitarian aid from entering the city of nearly one million people. Residents now line up to obtain 'Umbaz', a peanut residue used as animal feed, which has become the only food available for many to survive.

In a statement, the Sudan Doctors Network said the 179 deaths were a result of ''deliberate rocket shelling by the RSF''. The group issued an urgent appeal to save more than 350,000 children at direct risk of severe acute malnutrition due to the ''deliberate siege''.

It called for an immediate humanitarian corridor, warning that any delay ''constitutes genocide for the nearly one million citizens besieged'' in the city.

The RSF has intensified shelling, even as its ground assaults have been repelled by the army and its allies since mid-May. The repeated targeting of the Abu Shouk camp for displaced people has forced about 500 new families to flee in the last three days alone, a camp spokesperson said.

Sudan army pulls back from border zone, cites threat from Libya
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
's army said on Wednesday it had evacuated a strategic border zone shared with Libya and Egypt, calling it a defensive move against potential incursions by militia forces loyal to Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly...
The move follows an accusation by the Sudanese army on Tuesday that Haftar's forces, fighting alongside Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), had attacked its border posts.

A group loyal to Haftar denied the charge, calling it a ''blatant attempt to export Sudan's internal crisis and create a virtual external enemy'' and said one of its own patrols had been attacked.

In a statement, a Sudanese army front man said the evacuation of the triangle area was part of ''defensive arrangements to repel aggression.''

Tensions in the remote region flared on June 6, when a Libyan unit loyal to Haftar reportedly entered about 3 km (2 miles) into Sudanese territory near Mount Arkenu. A clash with an gang allied with Sudan's army left two Libyan soldiers dead and others captured, according to the initial report.

Russians have 10 km left to the border with Dnipropetrovsk region - Ukrainian General Staff
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] Defense forces hold back the enemy in the Novopavlovsk direction
In the Novopavlovsk direction, Russian troops still have about 10 kilometers to cover to the administrative border of the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.

In the Novopavlovsk direction, Russian troops are trying to advance towards the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. They have about 10-15 kilometers to go before they reach it. This was stated by Vladislav Voloshin, a representative of the Southern Defense Forces, on the air of a telethon on Wednesday, June 11.

"This is the direction from the southeast of Dnipropetrovsk region. For the enemy in our Novopavlovskoye direction to reach the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions, he has much more than 600 meters left. He has several settlements left, in particular: Zelenoye Pole, Novopol, Volnoye Pole, Novosyolka. Therefore, it is not far in principle, it is somewhere around ten, or even fifteen kilometers," Voloshin noted.

He also added that the Russian army is actively operating in this direction, using infantry assaults in small groups. Over the past 24 hours alone, 35 attacks have been recorded there.

"The enemy is maintaining a high intensity of such assaults there, trying to break through to the Dnepropetrovsk region. In other directions, perhaps there are 600 meters left, I am only talking about our direction, and the enemy still has about 10 kilometers left," the representative explained.

Let us recall that since the beginning of the current day, 99 military clashes have occurred on the front in 11 directions.

Palestinian banks face crisis as Israel ends critical financial protection
[GEO.TV] Israel cancelled a waiver on Tuesday that had allowed Israeli banks to work with Paleostinian ones, threatening to paralyse Paleostinian financial institutions, Israel s finance minister Bezalel Smotrich said in a statement.

Phantom arsenals: Israel again caught in scandal over arms supplies to Kyiv
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Tsukanov

[REGNUM] The Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Brodsky recently stunned the press with unexpected revelations. The diplomat stated that the Patriot anti-aircraft systems that Tel Aviv received from the US in the early 1990s “are now in Ukraine” and are involved in “protecting its skies.”

Considering that Israel had kept its distance in the Ukrainian conflict in the previous years and publicly avoided providing military support to Kyiv, Brodsky’s statement had the effect of a bomb going off.

And although the Israeli Foreign Ministry quickly backed down, calling the ambassador’s statements “personal speculation,” there were only more questions for Tel Aviv.

SCHRODINGER'S SUPPLIES
This is not the first time that the Israeli defense sector has found itself in trouble in the Ukrainian direction – and once again because of the talkativeness of diplomats.

For example, in January 2025, journalists already caught Tel Aviv trying to organize the supply of captured Russian-made weapons to the Ukrainian army.

Small arms and ammunition (including, for example, the Kornet ATGM) captured by the Israeli army during operations in Lebanon and Gaza were supposedly supposed (after initial sorting in Germany) to be transported to Rzeszow, Poland, and from there transferred to Ukraine along with other batches of foreign aid.

Such a big detour was necessary so that Tel Aviv could formally fulfill its obligations to its partners without officially joining Kyiv’s weapons donor club.

However, the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, Yevgeny Korniychuk, who was privy to the details of the scheme, revealed the cards before Tel Aviv had time to put the arms shipments into production. As a result, the Israelis, who did not want to spoil relations with Moscow, had to urgently wind down the behind-the-scenes deliveries that had not yet begun and justify themselves in the press.

And Brodsky, the main "hero" of the current scandal, is not raising the uncomfortable topic for the first time. Thus, back in August 2024, the diplomat admitted in an interview that the Israeli government had "long been talking" about writing off the outdated Patriot batteries and then transferring them to Kyiv.

The decision was postponed for a long time due to the fundamental disagreement of high-ranking security officials - Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Chief of General Staff Herzi Ha-Levi. However, after their resignations and the subsequent appointment of pro-Kiev "hawks" to key positions, the formal restrictions were de facto lifted.

TIME FOR EXCHANGE
At first glance, Tel Aviv's hypothetical decision to transfer its missile systems to Ukraine seems illogical. Especially since, in the context of the ongoing asymmetric conflict with Iran, weakening the density of the "air dome" could cost the country dearly.

Even taking into account the somewhat increased sympathy for Kyiv in the Israeli military departments, local security forces would hardly dare to take the risk.

However, the real reasons for such an escapade are quite prosaic: the United States advised Israel to give the old systems to Kyiv. Thus, back in the summer of 2024, it became known about negotiations between Washington and Tel Aviv on the modernization of individual units equipped with Patriot systems.

According to the agreement, the Pentagon assumed obligations to replace four to eight batteries if Israel was ready to transfer the decommissioned systems to a “third country.”

The agreements were not finalized due to the change of presidential teams in the United States, but Donald Trump's supporters, apparently, have not abandoned the idea of their predecessors.

Moreover, at the beginning of 2023, the US was already resorting to trickery and “profitably exchanging” outdated “Patriots” with the Arabian monarchies for subsequent independent dispatch to Ukraine. While the Gulf countries formally remained “above the fray.” The scheme did not promise the Israelis great risks, but it did promise significant dividends.

Volodymyr Zelensky also unwittingly highlighted some of the contours of the hypothetical deal. A few days before the scandal, he publicly complained that the US, contrary to agreements with Kiev, “decided to transfer 20,000 missiles to the Middle East to combat kamikaze UAVs.”

Considering that it was drones that caused the most damage to Israeli facilities during short-term skirmishes with Iran, it is not difficult to determine the final recipient of strategic supplies. Massive supplies of consumables for combating UAVs could well have become an additional incentive for Tel Aviv to conclude a deal.

However, premature public triumph once again spoiled the game for some businessmen.

RIGHT OF REPLY
The new fact of Israel's violation of its own "weapons taboo" did not go unnoticed by Moscow. Unlike the January incident, when Tel Aviv's secret supplies through the Polish arms hub could only be judged by indirect signs, the current scandal was perceived more harshly.

For example, parliamentary circles have already stated that Russia, in response to the creation of conditions for further escalation of the Ukrainian conflict, may well arm “some countries” in the Middle East, acting on the principle of “an eye for an eye.”

And although this was said in passing, without the appropriate authority and without mentioning potential recipients of targeted assistance, the statements caused nervousness in official Tel Aviv. Moscow's most promising partner in the region is clear even without additional explanations.

Israeli newspapers loyal to the opposition camp even demanded that the authorities "immediately and convincingly refute" the fact of deliveries, and that diplomat Brodsky be demonstratively removed from office, so as not to deepen the conflict with Moscow and return to the previous status quo.

However, for now the authorities are in no hurry to develop the controversial topic too much, limiting themselves to denials through the Foreign Ministry. And partly this strategy is also correct: overly active justifications by Israeli officials may well be considered a sign of lies.

#2  How much of a scandal is it?

I recall the Patriot Missiles for the Patriot Batteries in Israel were held up by the Obama-Biden regime, along with other bombs, missiles, and arms.

I recall some Jew talk about moving away from American Missile Dependence to self reliance on domestically produced munitions.

Recall too with all their layers of AMD, Patriots are pretty much a bottom tier legacy system in Israel anymore.

The dispute is stalling the formation of a government intended to rule areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its allies.

While alliance members agreed that RSF commander Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, known as Hemetti, would head a presidential council, a rift emerged over the next most powerful role.

The sources said armed movements led by al-Hadi Idris and El-Tahir Hajer are blocking the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North's (SPLM-N) demand for the premiership.

''The SPLM-N will likely withdraw if it is denied the post,'' sources within the alliance told Sudan Tribune.

3. The State Department is pulling nonessential staff and families from Bahrain and Kuwait.

4. U.S. military dependents in Bahrain have been cleared for temporary departure.

None of these moves came from Fleet Forces Command, meaning this likely came from the top, possibly the White House. Something serious is unfolding.

Trump gives ominous warning as Pete Hegseth authorizes major military move in the Middle East
[MAIL] President Donald Trump delivered an ominous warning on Wednesday as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized a major military move in the Middle East amid rising tensions in the area.

The Defense Department has announced it has authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from bases in the Middle East ahead of continued negotiations with Iranian officials over its rapidly advancing nuclear program

It affects bases in Iraq, Syria, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates - but primarily affects military spouses and their children in Bahrain near the US Navy base, according to Fox News.

US says reducing presence in Iraq
[Rudaw] The United States is reducing its footprint in Iraq and evacuating non-essential staff in line with measures to keep its diplomatic personnel safe, two US officials told Rudaw on Wednesday.

"We are constantly assessing the appropriate personnel posture at all our embassies. Based on our latest analysis, we decided to reduce our Mission in Iraq," the State Department said in an email.

It came after reports that Washington was preparing to partially evacuate its embassy in Iraq due to "heightened security risks in the region," according to Rooters, citing American and Iraqi sources.

The potential evacuation, which sent oil prices rising, is also taking place amid ongoing talks between the US and Iran

expressed pessimism over the Islamic republic’s readiness to cease uranium enrichment - a key US demand.

"President Trump is committed to keeping Americans safe, both at home and abroad," the State Department official said.

A Pentagon official later told Rudaw that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth "authorized the voluntary departure of military dependents from locations" across the Middle East, saying the decision came amid rising regional tensions.

In response, an Iraqi government source said that Washington's decision to partially reduce its diplomatic presence is not exclusive to Iraq.

"These steps concern measures related to the American diplomatic presence in a number of Middle Eastern countries and not only Iraq," the source said while praising Iraq’s security and stability, as reported by state media.

On Wednesday, Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh threatened attacks on American bases in the region if the ongoing nuclear talks faltered and Iran was subjected to military strikes.

"If conflict is imposed on us, the opponent’s casualties will certainly be higher, and in that case, America must leave the region, because all its bases are within our reach," Nasirzadeh said. "We have access to them, and we will target all of them in the host countries without hesitation."

Trump has repeatedly threatened to strike Iran if the two sides fail to reach a deal.

Also on Wednesday, Iraqi army chief of staff General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah met Major General Kevin Leahy, commander of the US-led global coalition against the Islamic State

(ISIS) members were captured in an operation in the northern Raqqa province.

"Our forces raided the hideout of the terrorist cell and successfully captured two terrorists, Abdul Sattar Abdul Fattah al-Muhammad, known as "Abu Amira," and his brother, Muhammad Abdul Fattah al-Muhammad, known as "Abu al-Baraa," the SDF said in a statement.

The operation, supported by the US-led international coalition, was carried out in al-Mansoura, a large town some 25 kilometers southwest of Raqqa, the former de facto capital of ISIS’s so-called "caliphate."

"The two forces of Evil were involved in the manufacture of improvised bombs (IEDs) and operated a facility specialized in producing weapon silencers and bombs," the statement added.

On Tuesday, another SDF operation captured an ISIS operative in Hasaka province’s Til Kochar area, near the Iraqi border. The operative managed ISIS-affiliated Telegram accounts and recruited youth to join the bully boy group, according to the SDF statement.

The operations come amid an escalation of ISIS attacks in the area, particularly targeting Kurdish-led forces and civilians, with the bandidos hard boyz seeking to exploit a security vacuum sparked by increased instability following the fall of Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

ISIS and its so-called "caliphate" was territorially defeated in Syria in 2019, two years after its defeat in Iraq, but the group has recently sought to regain ground, especially after the fall of the Assad regime.

The SDF, backed by the United States, is the de facto army of northeast Syria (Rojava), and has fought to prevent the bandidos hard boyz from reestablishing a foothold in the shifting security landscape.

Earlier in June, an SDF operation in the notorious al-Hol camp in Hasaka captured another ISIS operative.

Druze leader denounces Syria's constitutional declaration as ‘tyranny’
A transcript of the interview can be read in English at the link.
[Rudaw] The spiritual leader of Syria’s Druze community, Hikmat al-Hajari, on Monday reiterated his rejection of Syria’s new constitutional declaration, labeling it a "declaration of tyranny" that threatens the country’s sectarian and ethnic fabric.

"What was called the constitutional declaration was in reality a declaration of tyranny, and we and all of Syria's components did not agree with most of its articles," Hajari told Rudaw in a written interview. "What it lacks in rights is not just for the Kurds but for all sects, spectrums, and components."

The constitutional declaration, signed in March by interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa, was introduced by the Islamist-led interim government that came to power after Sharaa’s now-dissolved Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

.The document emphasizes Islamic jurisprudence as a primary source of legislation, drawing criticism from Syria’s Christian, Druze, Kurdish, and Alawite communities, who view it as exclusionary and a threat to religious and cultural diversity.

"The brothers [HTS] who reached Damascus call on us saying that ’whoever liberates decides,’" Hajari said, explaining that the new government makes unilateral decisions without consultation of minority groups. "All of us as one people are partners in victory. Otherwise, we will return to another face resembling the tyranny of Bashar."

and Israel, have expressed growing concern over the Islamist-led government since Assad’s fall. Tensions have risen between local groups in the Druze-majority province of Suwayda and the new authorities in Damascus.

In April and May, deadly festivities erupted in Suwayda after an offensive audio recording about the Prophet Muhammad - initially attributed to a Druze holy man - sparked sectarian anger. More than 100 people were killed in the fighting, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Rijal al-Karama (Men of Dignity) Movement, the largest Druze gang in Suwayda, has played a key role in defending the province from external threats and local corruption since the fall of Assad.

In early April, Hajari denied making any political agreements with Damascus, calling the current government "extremist in every sense of the word."

While the state-run SANA news agency reported in late May that Druze representatives had reached a "preliminary agreement" with the government to halt the violence, local outlet Suwayda24 said the meeting ended without a clear deal, noting only "non-binding points," including a proposed ceasefire and the formation of a joint committee to address the aftermath of the festivities.

Somali Forces Launch Major Military Push in Middle Shabelle region Tuesday
[ShabelleMedia] Somalia’s federal government has deployed significant military forces to the Middle Shabelle region in a bid to retake towns and districts controlled by Al-Shabaab militants, security sources reported Tuesday.

Large contingents of federal troops have been mobilized to key areas, including Wargaadi, Cadale, and other strategic bases, as part of a final push to recapture the Aadan Yabaal district and other areas seized by Al-Shabaab in heavy fighting months earlier.

Local Macawisleey militia units are also participating in the operation, joining federal forces in preparations to reclaim Al-Shabaab-held territories in the Middle Shabelle region. The combined forces are reportedly coordinating efforts to dislodge the militants.

In recent days, fierce clashes have erupted between Al-Shabaab and federal troops, supported by Macawisleey fighters, in areas along the border of Middle Shabelle and Hiiraan regions. These battles are part of a broader campaign to expel the extremist group from the region.

Local journalists report a tense atmosphere, with residents fearing an escalation of violence. The federal government has vowed to continue operations against Al-Shabaab until Middle Shabelle is fully liberated.
Al-Qaeda-affiliated militants, the al-Shabaab, are trying to make a comeback in central regions, following heavy fighting in the outskirts of Moqokori village, where the militants have been pushing out government troops and local fighters on the frontlines.

For the better part of Monday, for the fifth straight day, the Al-Shabaab fighters engaged the Somali National Army (SNA) and the local forces in a fierce battle, with the group determined to retake the strategic village in central Somalia.

Last week, the militants captured Xawaadley and El Hareeri villages, pushing deeper into the eastern Hiiraan region, forcing the government troops to wage counterattacks. So far, the government troops have yet to get a better footing.

Al-Shabaab is sending more reinforcements every day, local security officials said, adding that they are aiming to capture Moqokori and Mahas towns. The militants seem to have regrouped following defeats in recent months.

According to Ali Jayte Osman, the former Hiiraan governor, the Somali government is doing little to protect citizens from Al-Shabaab rage. The former governor blames Hirshabelle leadership for struggles in the fight against Al-Shabaab.

The insurgents have stepped up operations in central Somalia, despite airstrikes and resistance from government troops and allied militias. The militants released footage of child soldiers training during Eid al-Adha, further signifying their expansionist mentality.

Jeyte asked President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to dismantle Hirshabelle state and instead appoint governors for Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions, saying regional leaders are undermining efforts to fight Islamist insurgents who are gaining ground

ese army dronezap on Tuesday hit a school being used as a shelter for displaced people in West Kordofan state, killing at least eight, including a child, and injuring nine others, a local emergency response group said.

In a statement received by Sudan Tribune, the West Kordofan State Emergency Room said an army drone struck the Abu Zabad Secondary School for Girls, which was sheltering people who had fled the war seeking safety. The group demanded that both warring parties comply with international law and protect unarmed civilians.

The strike comes amid escalating tensions in West Kordofan, where both the army, backed by allied armed movements, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been mobilizing fighters for renewed confrontations.

The RSF has captured several towns in the wider Kordofan region in recent weeks after fierce battles.

The emergency group issued an appeal to international organizations for a rapid response, saying displaced people were overcrowding shelters, residential neighbourhoods, and public squares in the Abu Zabad area.

'Read the inscriptions on the Reichstag.' Why Russia should always teach the Germans
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Gevorg Mirzayan

[REGNUM] Distance education. This is how one can characterize the current correspondence conflict between Russia and Germany. A conflict where Russians teach Germans history and responsibility for their actions.

It all started on June 5 at the White House, where German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, in a desperate attempt to please Trump, declared that it was the United States that liberated Europe from Nazism and that the key moment of this liberation was the landing in Normandy in the summer of 1944.

Trump (who, apparently, had not forgotten the insults Merz had previously directed at him) did not appreciate the bending over and pricked the chancellor with words about how, supposedly, it had been an unpleasant day for Germany.

“Trump loves this kind of bullying,” explains Dmitry Ofitserov-Belsky, a senior research fellow at the IMEMO RAS, to IA Regnum.

The statements were not appreciated in Moscow either. State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that Merz forgot "who really liberated the world from Nazism." And he added that "it was the Soviet multinational people who did this, paying a high price of 27 million lives."

Not America, which lost less than half a million people in the entire war and fought mainly in the Pacific Ocean against the Japanese. Not America, which came to Europe only at the end of the war in mid-1944, when the Soviet troops had already broken the back of the Wehrmacht. And not America, which did not take Berlin.
It was a worldwisde project, and there were those who lost a higher percentage of their population than even the brotherly republics of the Soviet Union. Not to mention that some part of Soviet war deaths resulted from Soviet Russian mismanagement of its war, and prewar preparations. All those unnecessary famines, all those sent en masse to the gulags or internal exile. Yes, successive German governments have been rudely dismissive of Russian/Soviet contributions, but today’s Russia has been holding oil and natural gas hostage, which does tend to sour the attitude…
And finally, to clear his memory, Vyacheslav Volodin suggested that the Chancellor go to the Bundestag “to see what is written on the walls of the Reichstag and in what language.”

Also, to avoid writing twice, Volodin accused Merz of condoning neo-Nazi forces and pursuing anti-Russian policies, and also outlined some of the consequences of such actions.

"We know that the German government is planning to launch missile production in Ukraine. This is drawing Germany more and more into military action against Russia. You yourself understand what this could lead to," the speaker explained. He added that Russia does not want clashes, but if this happens, it is ready.

Merz remained silent in response. However, his CDU colleague, who is also the speaker of the Bundestag, Julia Klöckner, joined the discussion. She made a number of theses that surprised the experts and forced Vyacheslav Volodin to respond to her as well.

For example, she said that Germany remembers everything correctly. “The German Bundestag knows that Germany was liberated from National Socialist tyranny by the armed forces of the United States, France, the Commonwealth states (meaning the British. — Ed.) and the then Soviet army, including many Ukrainian soldiers,” Klöckner said. And in her speech — nominally, it seemed correct — she made a whole series of semantic throw-ins.

Firstly, it put the main liberators – the USSR – in last place. Behind even the French, of whom far more fought in the ranks of the Wehrmacht than in the Resistance and the forces of the anti-Hitler coalition.

Secondly, she spoke disdainfully of the main liberator. "It is unfortunate that you cannot even accurately name the army that took Berlin, calling it "former Soviet". In this regard, I am forced to remind you that it was the Red Army," said Vyacheslav Volodin.

Thirdly, Kleckner specifically mentioned Ukrainians in the ranks of the Red Army, which consisted mostly of Russians. “If we go all the way down this path, then let’s also list the Belarusian, Kazakh, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and other soldiers,” Volodin suggested.

However, Kloeckner did not mention Ukrainian soldiers by accident. She actually drew a parallel between Nazi Germany and today's Russia.

"Anyone who uses the history of World War II to justify a war of aggression against their neighbor in violation of international law insults the memory of real victims and distorts the concept of liberation," said Frau Klöckner. She added that there is "no fascist regime" in Kiev today and called on the Russian State Duma "to demand an end to the war that President Putin is waging so that the Ukrainian people can live in sovereignty, territorial integrity, peace and freedom."

However, in reality there are no parallels here. Kyiv is home to a Nazi regime that glorifies Nazis (SS fighters and punitive forces), conducts Nazi propaganda against Russia, and has integrated neo-Nazi structures into its armed forces.

And the State Duma – as well as the Russian authorities as a whole – are already demanding an end to the war so that the Ukrainian people can live in sovereignty, territorial integrity, peace and freedom.

But they are demanding this not from Putin, but from the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky. The one who is surrendering Ukrainian sovereignty (by introducing partial external control of his state by the West), who, with his adventurous actions, has deprived the country of part of its territory. Who, by refusing to negotiate in 2022, has deprived it of peace. And who, finally, has deprived the Ukrainian people of freedom - including the freedom to choose a new president.

"The presidential term of the head of the Ukrainian state expired a year ago, and his powers, according to the Constitution of Ukraine itself and a number of other laws, should have been transferred to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada. This is clearly spelled out in Ukrainian legislation," said Vyacheslav Volodin.

According to him, the constitution of this country does not provide for any legal, constitutional ways to extend the powers of the President of Ukraine, even under martial law.

But Klöckner is not embarrassed. She perceives all of Volodin's claims as baseless threats. And, according to her, the Bundestag cannot be intimidated. "We, in Germany, firmly stand on the side of democracy, freedom and self-determination, against any imperialist aggression! The German Bundestag will not be intimidated - neither in its foreign policy, nor in its historical self-awareness, nor in the culture of remembrance," she said.

However, neither Vyacheslav Volodin nor anyone else from the Russian leadership intends to intimidate Frau Klöckner. They are merely reminding her of Germany's historical experience and calling on her to soberly assess the consequences of her own actions.

It would seem, why tell Germany and its politicians their own history so many times? Because as soon as they forget it, they will instill in themselves fantasies about their innocence for past sins and immediately repeat them.

"The Germans would really like to think that they have been liberated. Liberated from the darkness that was cast upon them or something like that. In reality, their grandfathers and great-grandfathers were Nazis, exterminating people on an industrial scale. And they elected Hitler themselves, democratically. Therefore, they need to be reminded of all this. As long as the Germans remember their responsibility, they are unlikely to be ready to fight," says Dmitry Ofitserov-Belsky.

And they are being pushed into war. Those European politicians who are now talking about Russia's obligatory attack on Europe. The very same ones Vyacheslav Volodin is addressing.

Talking, for example, about the answers and responsibility for the possible transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine, which will be guided and serviced by Bundeswehr officers. "That is, German missiles will hit Russia and this will be done by German officers. Thus, you are once again pushing Germany and the German people into another armed conflict with Russia. Do you have a mandate for this from the German people? From your voters?" he asks.

And it remains to be hoped that following Volodin, these questions will be asked of Frau Klöckner and her boss Herr Merz by German voters themselves. It is time for them to move from distance education of their leaders to electoral education.

Treasures from the San Jose ship that sank 300 years ago have been found in the Caribbean
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Researchers from Colombia have studied coins scattered around the wreckage of a ship that sank in the Caribbean Sea and have obtained evidence that the fragments are part of the Spanish galleon "San Jose" that sank more than 300 years ago. This was reported on June 11 by Live Science magazine.
Wreck diving is so cool.
The coins, minted in 1707, point to a vessel that followed the route of the Tierra Firme fleet in the early 18th century. The galleon San José is the only vessel that matches these characteristics.

The wreckage was discovered in 2015 but has only now been identified.

Using special underwater equipment, the researchers took detailed photographs of the coins found at the shipwreck site. They were able to establish that the finds included hand-minted, irregularly shaped coins that served as the main currency in Latin America during the Spanish Empire.

The coins bear the date of minting and the location of the mint in Peru. Analysis of these features helped to establish the time frame of the shipwreck and determine the route of the sunken vessel.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, in December last year, underwater archaeologist Alexandre Monteiro stated that approximately 250 treasure ships were lying in the area of the Azores and Madeira archipelagos, as well as on the Portuguese mainland. As an example, he cited information discovered about the Spanish ship Nossa Senhora do Rosario from 1589, which sank near the Troia Peninsula. According to archival records, the ship was officially carrying 22 tons of gold and silver.

Commander-in-Chief of Ukrainian Ground Force Drapatiy resigns
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Mykhailo Drapatiy announced on June 11 that he had left his post.

"I have completed six months of work as commander of the ground forces. I am leaving the post with a clear conscience... This is not the end. This is a transition to the next stage," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Drapatogo, when he took up the post of commander-in-chief of the ground forces, he saw that the command was in a state of managerial stagnation, so he had to work to change the situation. The process is still only in its initial stages.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, Drapatiy announced his decision to resign on June 1, after a missile strike by Russian troops on a Ukrainian Armed Forces training center. He said the reason was that he was unable to ensure that his orders were carried out. The Ukrainian army reported that the attack resulted in deaths and injuries, but did not provide exact casualty figures.

On June 3, the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that he had decided to appoint Drapatiy as the commander of the joint forces. In this position, he noted, he would be able to fully focus on the front.

At the same time, the Russian army continues to advance in different directions. On June 11, the 55th Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 90th Tank Division of the Center military group of the Russian Armed Forces reached the western border of the Donetsk People's Republic and began to advance in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Units of the Vostok group also entered this Ukrainian region.

US Reveals How Israeli Border Guards Tormented Thunberg
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Well, it is Politico

[Regnum] Israeli border guards mocked Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and other passengers on the Madleen ship, which was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. Politico wrote about this on June 11.

The newspaper reports the account of a French doctor, Baptiste Andre, who was also on the ship. According to him, there was no physical violence from the Israeli military, but they mocked verbally, limited access to food and water, and also deliberately deprived passengers of sleep - as soon as someone fell asleep, they turned on music and danced.

"I don't have the legal qualifications to explain what happened, but there were acts of abuse," the doctor said.

Earlier, Regnum reported that the activists who were on a boat to the Gaza Strip with Thunberg would be deported from Israel. The activists who refused to sign the deportation documents and leave the country will appear in court, which will then decide on their expulsion from Israel. Thunberg arrived home in Sweden on June 10.

On June 9, an alarm was raised on a vessel heading to the Gaza Strip with 12 pro-Palestinian activists, including Thunberg. Afterwards, the Israeli army boarded the vessel and contact with it was lost.

According to Al Jazeera, the Madleen was intercepted by the Israeli army in neutral waters. After that, all crew members and passengers were ordered to turn off their mobile phones.
They couldn’t do that, because reportedly they’d already thrown their phones overboard to keep them out of Israeli hands.
Before this, the head of the Israeli Defense Ministry, Israel Katz, ordered the country's army to take any measures to prevent the vessel with activists on board from reaching the shores of the Palestinian enclave.

Later on June 9, Thunberg accused the Israeli authorities of kidnapping the activists and called on friends and family to pressure the Swedish government to quickly release everyone on the ship.
Not only did they release them, but they sent them home without charge for the airline ticket. They didn’t even pin their eyelids open to force them to watch the compilation of home movies Hamasniks made during the 10/7 invasion, so dear little Gretakins still doesn’t know what her beloved Hamas did to those Joooooooos that day. Really, I don’t understand what this silly person is complaining about.

Togo's president faces calls to resign after protests over new role allowing indefinite rule
[AFRICANEWS] Togo's President Faure Gnassingbe is facing growing pressure following a government clampdown on protests calling for his resignation over recent changes in the constitution that could effectively keep him in power indefinitely.

Activists on Tuesday condemned the arrest and alleged maltreatment of dozens of people following staged protests late last week in Togo's capital, Lome, and on social media.

The Togolese leader, who has ruled since 2005 after the death of his father, was sworn in as President of the Council of Ministers in May. The powerful role has no official term limits, and he is eligible to be re-elected by parliament indefinitely.

Opposition politicians have denounced the move as a ''constitutional coup.''

Around half of the 80 protesters who were arrested were released late Monday. However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
at least 25 remain in jug, a local rights group said, urging authorities to release the others.

''What we know is that several people were beaten during their arrest,'' Aim Adi, director of Amnesty International's office in Togo, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

In addition to the release of the remaining detainees, "what the Togolese now want is the end of this regime, which can no longer offer anything to the people after 20 years of absolute and repressive power of Faure Gnassingbe,'' said a coalition of political groups known as ''Hands Off My Constitution''.

Demonstrations are rare in Togo as they have been banned in the country since 2022, following a deadly attack at Lome's main market. But the latest change in government structure has been widely criticised in a region threatened by rampant coups and other threats to democracy.

Public prosecutor Talaka Mawama has defended the arrests and described the protests as ''part of a revolt against the institutions of the Republic.''

Record number: nearly 1.3 million Haitians now internally displaced
[AFRICANEWS] Never before has Haiti recorded this many internally displaced persons (IDPs) within its borders, according to a new report released by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM).

The root of these dramatic population movements lies in the gang violence, which has held the country in its grip for several years now. But the number of armed attacks, kidnappings, rape cases and sexual violence have made the situation unbearable for large parts of the population.

While most armed gangs operate in the capital, Port-au-Prince, the violence has been spreading to the countryside and other parts of the country - also increasing refugee numbers there.

"As more people are forced to flee, the number of spontaneous displacement sites is also rising. Since December, these sites have jumped from 142 to 246. The sharpest increase is in areas that previously had none, like the Centre department, which now hosts 85 sites," notes the IOM.

The Centre and North departments saw the largest increase in IDP numbers, and 77% of IDPs continue to be hosted in the provinces outside the capital.

The humanitarian situation has worsened in the face of this crisis: with refugee numbers putting a strain on local infrastructure and resources, many face a life without access to schools, healthcare or clean water.

International efforts to curb the violence have so far not yielded the results that governments and Haitians alike hoped for. A Kenyan-led police mission is currently the main international force deployed to fight the gangs.

There were no immediate reports of casualties. Israel has been hitting Houthi targets with air strikes in a military campaign launched after the country severely weakened Iran's other Middle East partners.

The Israeli military on Monday urged the evacuation of the Houthi-controlled ports of Ras Isa, Hodeidah and Salif.

"We warned the Houthi terror organization that if they continue to fire toward Israel, they will face a powerful response and will be subjected to a naval and aerial blockade", Defence Minister Israel Katz said in a statement on X.

US Treasury Secretary Bessent Warns of Possible Default on Government Debt
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The United States may face a default on its national debt in the second half of the summer. This was stated on June 11 by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Bloomberg reports.
That sounds like there is an if attached to that.
It is specified that at a hearing in the Committee on Revenue and Expenditure of the US House of Representatives, Bessent was asked when the US will reach the ceiling on the national debt, which exceeds $36.9 trillion.

"In mid to late summer," the US Treasury Secretary replied.

Bessent clarified that he could not name a specific month, since, in his words, it was a “moving target.” In addition, he clarified that the current White House administration intends to reduce the deficit ratio to less than 4% by the end of US President Donald Trump’s term.

Earlier, Regnum reported that US Treasury Secretary Bessent said the White House would never declare a default on US government debt. According to him, the US administration always "keeps its finger on the pulse", preventing the collapse of the financial system.

In late March, The New York Times reported that Washington could default on its national debt between July and October 2025. According to the newspaper, the White House is actively trying to cut government jobs and spending.

In May, US President Trump introduced a bill to reduce government spending that would increase defense spending. In particular, the spending concerns the creation of the Golden Dome air defense system and tightening border controls.

South Africa buries unclaimed bodies of illegal miners
Always more bodies where those came from…
[AFRICANEWS] The Northwest provincial authorities said no family members came to claim the 30 bodies. More were expected to be buried in the coming days.
Weren't they already buried?

In total, 78 corpses were recovered during an operation to get illegal miners - also known as zama zamas - out of a decomissioned gold mine in Stilfontein, southwest of Johannesburg in January.

Most of the miners hailed from Zim-bob-we, Lesotho and Mozambique.

So far, only 25 bodies have been claimed and handed over to relatives, according to the province's department of health.

The province explained that the law only allows it to keep bodies for 30 days after which they are interred as unclaimed persons.

Nearly 2000 illegal miners were arrested at the old gold mine in Stilfontein. Of these, 1,128 are from Mozambique, 473 from Zim-bob-we, and 197 from Lesotho.

South African authorities were accused by activists and rights groups of using starvation to push the miners out of the pits where they had barricaded themselves.

Brian Wilson obituary: Troubled genius who wrote most of The Beach Boys' hits
[BBC] Brian Wilson's work with The Beach Boys made him one of pop music's true geniuses.

His songs, including Surfin' USA, California Girls, I Get Around, Good Vibrations and God Only Knows, have become classics.

His vision, incorporating complex melodies, intricate harmonies and avant-garde themes, was a watershed in popular music, moving it away from the boy-meets-girl narrative that had dominated the genre.

But the pressure of fame combined with increasing dependence on drugs created a prison from which Wilson found it increasingly difficult to escape.

Against all the odds, he re-emerged in the new millennium to delight his old fans and capture a new generation of music lovers.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Kentucky man arrested for releasing a raccoon into a business months after fleeing police on a mule
[WHAS11] MURRAY, Ky. — A man from Murray, Kentucky, was arrested last week after police say he released a raccoon inside a business. This comes just months after the same man was arrested for attempting to evade police officers on a mule.

On June 6, 2025, Murray Police Department responded to a call that a person had intentionally released a raccoon into an open business, and that he had fled the scene.

Soon after, officers initiated a traffic stop on Jonathan Mason, 40. According to police, he refused to roll down his windows or exit his vehicle. Officers physically removed Mason from the vehicle.

Investigators learned the raccoon that was released into the business bit a person,
…oboy — rabies shots, just in case!
and that Mason was previously warned that he was not allowed on the property of the business.

Mason was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense. He was lodged in the Calloway County Jail.

About six months prior to this incident, Mason was arrested for a different crime, also involving an animal.

In December 2024, Murray Police Department responded to a local bar after an "unruly individual", who had been asked to leave was refusing to do so. Officers found Murray outside the business under the influence of alcohol.

Mason had ridden a mule to the establishment and refused to stop when ordered by an officer. Authorities say Mason resisted as the officer continued to try to place him under arrest.

Witnesses told investigators they say Mason whip the mule at a different establishment an "unnecessary amount" of times in addition to mistreating the animal in other ways.

As a result, Mason was arrested, the mule was stabled, and Mason was charged with Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Alcohol Intoxication In a Public Place, Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest and Cruelty to Animals 2nd Degree.

Just two days after the mule incident, Mason was arrested once more for attempting to flee police while riding the mule down the roadway intoxicated. He was charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 3rd Degree and Cruelty to Animals 2nd Degree.

Kots: 1212 by 27. Staggering body exchange ratio.
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the Facebook page of Russian military field correspondent Aleksandr Kots

[Facebook] Here is the explanation of the prolonged ugly pause in the process of body exchange. For several days, refrigerators with 1,212 frozen corpses with an unrepentant "cargo of 200" stood on the border. And in Kiev they could not explain clearly why Ukraine does not pick up its fallen. We did not demand anything in return. It was the Minister of Defense of Ukraine in Istanbul that there was an agreement for the exchange of dead under the formula "6000 by 6000". Although Medinsky said clearly that returning 6,000 "killed defenders" is our unilateral initiative.

But he stressed that we are ready to accept our heroes if Ukraine hands over to us.

I mean, technically Kyiv could immediately open a box at the border without any conditions on our part and just take their own. But politically, it would be a serious blow. Here's the kumekali on Bankovaya, how best to circumvent this case without unnecessary reputational losses.
Bankovaya is the name of the street where the Ukrainian president's office is. Kumekali is a mild insult which roughly translates to "brave child."
On Wednesday, the SBU even published another portion of materials on diversions in the Russian background in hopes of overshadowing the inevitable.

But the ratio of the exchange - 1212 to 27, according to my source participating in the process - is unlikely to go unnoticed even in the distilled Ukrainian information space, which even published lists of people stuck at the border of telephones have not penetrated. The day before, weeping women questioned Ukrainians returning from captivity whether they had seen a fighter with such a name, father and surname. And he's right on that sad list.

All these days, the Ukrainian side has been feverishly trying to get out of the unpleasant situation. And they found 27 bodies of our fallen heroes, who will now be able to send their relatives off with dignity. I do not think that Russia pursued political goals.

In the end, we do not fight with the dead, unlike the disgusting side that demolishes monuments and rolls into concrete fraternal graves of the Great Homeland. We simply can't do it any other way - neither in a Christian way, nor in a Russian way, or in a more human way. The dead must be buried. And that's why we've been collecting, keeping them, doing DNA examinations for 3.5 years...

At the same time, when I, for example, went to the liberated settlements of the Kursk region, I was obligatory to discover "fresh" corpses of the occupiers and the bodies of our defenders killed last year. Ukrainians did not move a finger to collect the dead.

In Goncharovka Hospital near Suzha, on the first floor, there was a position of drones Ukrainian Armed Forces, and on the third, the body of the killed girl was decomposed. And they were not at all embarrassed by this neighborhood.

I remember, in Suligovka near Izyum, we entered the newly taken Ukrainian positions. I lost four dozen phones from my account. Our commanders went out in connection with the enemy, offered a humanitarian pause and transport of the dead to the other side. In response, shit and mortar fire. We also collected those corpses...

Because the Russians can't do it otherwise.

More from Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
Ukraine receives their dead from Russia
Commentary by Boris Rozhin:
[ColonelCassad] Ukraine has finally received their war dead from Russia.

A total of 1,212 Ukraininan KIAs were handed over from refrigerated trucks located on the border.

Russia has agreed to give up another 4,788 KIAs as part of the asset transfer.

The funniest thing is that the Nazi clowns in Kiev said that the frozen assets were obtained as a result of great efforts, while they should have come a week ago and simply picked them up from the border. The case with the dead at the border was becoming completely toxic, so they decided to pick them up, but now they are thinking about how not to pay their families for them.

In the West they write that the Russian Federation has up to 40,000 killed Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers in a frozen state.

So, 6,000 is certainly not the limit.

kumekali (кумекали) = figuring out a wise response (mildly derogatory comes from term for gossiping women)

Kenyan Forces Foil Al-Shabaab Plot, Kill Two Militants in Pre-Dawn Raid
[Garowe] The multi-agency security teams, acting on credible intelligence, launched a pre-dawn operation on al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
hard boyz who were planning to terrorise Kenyans using the Alungu-Elwak road, Mandera County, officials said, while confirming the incident, Tuesday.

According to the officers, the bully boyz were also in the final stages of placing explosives on the main road targeting civilian vehicles. It is the norm of the hard boyz to plant explosives on major link roads within the northeastern parts of the country.

"The bully boyz were caught in the act of setting up the IED. A fierce firefight ensued, during which two hard boyz were neutralised and others sustained serious injuries before fleeing into nearby thickets with our gallant officers in hot pursuit," officials said.

"Recovered items include two AK-47 rifles, a Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) warhead, and a fully assembled IED, averting a potential large-scale attack on civilian traffic." This successful operation highlights the continued commitment and vigilance of Kenya's security forces in the fight against terrorism.

The incident comes a day after the Mandera County leadership held a high-level meeting with the regional administration of Jubaland in Kismayo
...a port city in the southern Lower Juba province of Somalia, at the extreme southern end of the country (always assuming Somalia can be called a country). It is the commercial capital of the autonomous Jubaland region....
, with security within the region featuring predominantly during the encounter.

Jubbaland’s First Vice President, Mahmoud Sayid Aden, met with the Governor of Mandera County, Adan Khalif, in Kismayo to discuss shared security concerns along the porous frontier, where the al-Shabaab holy warrior group continues to threaten lives, trade, and regional stability.

Vice President Aden underscored the Jubbaland administration’s commitment to defeating al-Shabaab and protecting civilians on both sides of the border. Kenya Defence Forces plays a critical role in the stabilisation of Somalia.

"We will not allow al-Shabaab to disrupt economic activity or endanger the lives of our citizens and neighbors," Sayid said after the talks, stressing the importance of maintaining open and secure trade routes for the benefit of communities who depend on cross-border commerce.
Shabelle Media tells the tale without the hyperventilating:
Kenyan Security officers from the anti-terror police unit killed two terrorists during an ambush in Mandera on Monday.

According to the Counter Terrorism Policing, officers from the elite Special Operations Group (SOG), acting on intelligence, launched an operation in the wee hours of the night in Mandera and ambushed the terrorists as they were planning to launch an attack.

The militants from the Al Shabaab terror group were reportedly planning to terrorise Kenyans using the Alungu-Elwak road, Mandera County.

In a related development, on the morning of May 8, the elite SOG neutralised an Al-Shabaab terrorist in Garissa while responding to the reports by locals of militants attempting to plant improved explosive devices (IEDs) along the Dadaab-Hagadera road, targeting civilians and security vehicles.

During the exchange of fire, one militant was killed, and three others were injured. Security officers also managed to arrest one of the suspects.

The authorities recovered several weapons from the scene, including a PKM machine gun, an AK-47, a pistol, a comms radio, and an IED remote.

Turkey’s T129 ATAK helicopters conduct first test flight in Mogadishu as military ties with Somalia deepen
[ShabelleMedia] Ottoman Turkish-made T129 ATAK combat helicopters carried out their first test flight from the TurKSOM military base in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, marking a new phase in Ankara’s growing military support for the Horn of Africa nation.

Three of the advanced attack helicopters were recently delivered to Somalia to bolster the fight against the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab

group, which remains active in the country’s south and central regions. The deployment represents The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
’s most high-profile military contribution yet to Somalia’s counterterrorism efforts.

Over the past decade, Turkey has emerged as Somalia’s top military partner, playing a central role in rebuilding and training the Somali National Army (SNA). Through its military base in Mogadishu, Turkey has provided continuous support in the form of training, equipment, and strategic guidance.

In addition to its military presence, Turkey has been patrolling Somalia’s territorial waters for the past ten years under a bilateral agreement aimed at curbing piracy and securing maritime trade routes in the Indian Ocean. Ottoman Turkish naval forces continue to operate off the Somali coast to safeguard both local and international shipping.

Turkey is also involved in offshore oil exploration projects along Somalia’s coastline, reinforcing its strategic and economic ties with the Somali government. These energy initiatives are expected to play a key role in the country’s economic future and energy independence.

The arrival of the T129 ATAK helicopters, known for their maneuverability and firepower in rugged terrain, is seen as a significant boost to Somalia’s aerial capabilities.

The move highlights Ankara’s commitment to enhancing Somalia’s security infrastructure and reflects broader efforts to stabilize the fragile nation through military, economic, and geopolitical cooperation.
