-Lurid Crime Tales-
Ghislaine Maxwell Sentenced To Death Is On Suicide Watch
[CNN] ...but isn't suicidal, may need to postpone sentencing, lawyer says

Ghislaine Maxwell has been placed on suicide watch, even though she is not suicidal, and may need to postpone her sentencing, according to a letter filed on Saturday by her attorney.

Maxwell, 60, is set to be sentenced on Tuesday in Manhattan federal court after being found guilty of sex trafficking a minor and other charges related to a sprawling conspiracy to abuse young girls with the wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein. She is currently being held at a federal detention facility in Brooklyn.

Attorney Bobbi Sternheim said in the letter Maxwell was abruptly removed from the general population, sent to solitary confinement, and placed on suicide watch Friday without a psychological evaluation and "without justification."

"I met with Ms. Maxwell today..." Sternheim said in the letter. "She is not suicidal."

CNN has reached out to the Bureau of Prisons for comment on why Maxwell was placed on suicide watch.

It is unclear if Maxwell was placed on suicide watch because of her link with Epstein.

Sternheim said a psychologist evaluated Maxwell on Saturday morning and determined she is not suicidal. The attorney argues Maxwell is unable to properly prepare for sentencing. A spokesman for the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York declined to comment.

"If Ms. Maxwell remains on suicide watch, is prohibited from reviewing legal materials prior to sentencing, becomes sleep-deprived, and is denied sufficient time to meet with and confer with counsel, we will be formally moving on Monday for an adjournment," Sternheim said.

Federal prosecutors asked a judge in a court filing Wednesday to sentence Maxwell to 30 to 55 years in prison, arguing she "made the choice to sexually exploit numerous underage girls." Maxwell's lawyers last week asked a judge to sentence her to between 4.25 and 5.25 years in prison, saying her difficult childhood made her vulnerable to Epstein and she should not face a harsh sentence because of his actions

Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to state prostitution charges, was indicted on federal sex trafficking charges in July 2019 but died by suicide in a Manhattan federal detention facility a month later. The facility has since been closed down, possibly temporarily, to address "issues."

Maxwell, his confidante and former girlfriend, was arrested a year afterward and has been held in jail since. Prosecutors say Maxwell helped Epstein set up a scheme to lure young girls into sexual relationships between 1994 and 2004.

She was found guilty of five federal charges in December, including: sex trafficking of a minor, transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and three related counts of conspiracy. However, she will only be sentenced on three counts after the judge presiding over her case agreed two of the conspiracy counts she faced were repetitive.

Tucker Carlson says corporations are helping their employees get an out-of-state abortion because those 'without families are much cheaper for the company'
[Insider] Tucker Carlson on Friday said companies that help their employees get abortions are "against families."

The Fox News host on an episode of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" played a clip of President Joe Biden denouncing the Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark Supreme Court decision that made abortion a constitutional right nationwide.

"Notice that it's abortion that is the red line for them," Carlson said. "Abortion? Of all the issues, why is that so important to them?"

"It's obvious why it's so important to America's corporations, almost all of whom immediately weighed in to say, 'We'll fly you to get an abortion at the state of your choice,'" Carlson continued. "Well, of course, employees without families are much cheaper for the company."

In the wake of the Supreme Court decision Friday, various companies such as Disney, Netflix, and Meta have vowed to provide their employees with financial assistance to help them travel out of state to receive an abortion.

"It's much cheaper to pay for an abortion than it is to pay for maternity leave, or an extra name on the insurance policy," Carlson said. "So, it's all about the money for corporate America. It always is. Families are bad for big corporations. Therefore, they're against families."

Since May, abortion-rights advocates have feared that the Supreme Court would strike down Roe v. Wade. The fears began when Politico published a leaked draft opinion in which Associate Justice Samuel Alito called the decision "egregiously wrong from the start."

Weird: Democrats Suddenly Saying 'Woman' Today As If Everyone Knows What It Means
[Babylon Bee] U.S. - Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Democrats nationwide have been accusing the Supreme Court of taking rights from "women." Onlookers have confirmed this to be confusing, as it seems to suggest that Democrats do in fact know what a woman is.

"Women today have less freedom than their mothers!" Nancy Pelosi took the stand today to defend "women's rights to make their own reproductive decisions." Onlookers found themselves befuddled by the rhetoric about the "women's right to choose," since Pelosi should have no way of knowing what a woman is since she is not a biologist.

Trans activists have come out in opposition to this timely recollection of what a "woman" is, decrying Pelosi's "exclusionary and transphobic language." One activist, Jesse Wolfshine, explained that "inclusion of trans people starts with the erasure of women."

Eyewitnesses confirm that Mx. Wolfshine backpedaled and looked flushed when she realized she had used the word "woman," walking back her statement: "Only after women are gone can we progress - I mean, uterused people, since that's a woman part! I mean, that's a birthing person's part!"

Eyewitnesses confirm that Mx. Wolfshine still looks flustered while trying to erase women without using transphobic language, but still accidentally says "woman" after every two or three elaborate euphemisms for "women."

Migrants from sub-Saharan Africa flee wave of police raids in Morocco
[France24] Families arrested at home in the middle of the night, herded into buses and then abandoned to their fate in towns in the middle of the desert — since June 17, members of the sub-Saharan African community living in Morocco have been contacting our team, frightened by the wave of arrests targeting migrants in Laayoune, a town known as a departure point for people hoping to reach Spain’s Canary Islands.

Koffi (not his real name) is from the Ivory Coast. He lives in a neighbourhood called 25 mars (or March 25) in Laayoune, Morocco. The area is known as a gathering point for migrants hoping to reach Spain’s Canary Islands by crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Koffi says the recent wave of arrests has been particularly violent:

The police arrive in the middle of the night, often around 5am, when everyone is still sleeping. They knock two or three times and if the person doesn’t answer, then they break down the door and make everyone come out, including the women and children. Some people are willing to take great risks to escape the police. A friend broke his arm jumping out of the window.

Most of the people targeted in these raids are from the Ivory Coast,
...37% Muslim...
Cameroon,
...24% Muslim...
Mali
...93% Muslim...
or Togo.
...only 14% Muslim...
A video circulated online showing one man in a hospital room, his arm in a cast, explaining how he hurt himself jumping from the third floor in an attempt to get away from the police in early June.

More than dozen found dead in South Africa nightclub: Police
[Aljazeera] Police say at least 17 patrons were found dead inside a popular club in a township in East London, police say.

At least 17 people have been found dead at a nightclub in a township in South Africa’s southern city of East London on Sunday, police said.

Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana said police were alerted by members of the public to the incident at Scenery Park, about 3km (1.9 miles) from the city centre.

"The circumstances under which they died are under investigation," Kinana told Reuters news agency, adding it was too early to determine the cause of death of the young adults aged between 18 and 20 years.

Local television showed police officers trying to calm down a crowd of people gathered outside the club in the city, which lies on the Indian Ocean coast, nearly 1,000km (620 miles) south of the commercial capital, Johannesburg.

The Eastern Cape provincial community and safety department official Unathi Binqose, speaking from the scene, ruled out a stampede as cause of death.

"It’s difficult to believe it’s a stampede as there are no visible open wounds to those dead," Binqose told AFP news agency by telephone.

"Parents whose children did not sleep home are gathered here and they want to enter the tavern to look for their loved ones," Binqose added.

He said he understood the patrons were students "celebrating pens down, a party held after writing (high school) exams".

A regional local newspaper, DispatchLive, reported "bodies are lying strewn across tables, chairs and on the floor; with no obvious signs of injury".

More soon.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russia will soon exhaust its combat capabilities, Western assessments predict
[WAPO via MSN] The Russian military will soon exhaust its combat capabilities and be forced to bring its offensive in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region to a grinding halt, according to Western intelligence predictions and military experts.

"There will come a time when the tiny advances Russia is making become unsustainable in light of the costs and they will need a significant pause to regenerate capability," said a senior Western official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive issue.

The assessments come despite continued Russian advances against outgunned Ukrainian forces, including the capture on Friday of the city of Severodonetsk, the biggest urban center taken by Russia in the east since launching the latest Donbas offensive nearly three months ago.

The Russians are now closing in on the adjacent city of Lysychansk, on the opposite bank of the Donets River. The town's capture would give Russia almost complete control of the Luhansk oblast, one of two oblasts, or provinces, that make up the Donbas region. Control of Donbas is the publicly declared goal of Russia's "special military operation," although the multifront invasion launched in February made it clear that Moscow's original ambitions were far broader.

#5  Such pathetic, obvious lies from one of the biggest liars throughout this sorry spectacle. WaPo, the Times and the Brit tabloids have parroted Pentagon and MoD bullshit nonstop.

The truth is that this is one of the worst foreign policy disasters ever suffered by the US. Ukraine and the US have succeeded only in getting Ukraine destroyed. Before the war, Russia controlled only Crimea. The Minsk II agreement that Zelensky ripped up (on orders from Biden's neocon fools) would have ensured Ukraine's survival with control of 100% of its productive territory.

Thanks to that foolish decision and Biden's insane encouragement, the little clown has caused his country to lose almost 90% of its productive territory and close to a quarter of its geographic territory.

This is a spectacular humiliation for Biden and his foreign-policy idiots. Watch how they try desperately to spin it otherwise.

His red line is like every conqueror's red line. He will advance until his forces can no longer do so. Where that point turns out to be depends on how much equipment and ammo the West supplies to the Ukrainians. At the moment, the trickle of aid is sufficient only for Ukraine to lose, despite the torrent of road apples coming from Washington and the European capitals. We shall likely see that red line extending all the way to the Atlantic, and beyond, depending on how hollow Europe's military forces are, relative to their stated capabilities.

Space Force establishes intelligence unit to put sharper focus on orbital threats
[Space News] Space Delta 18 will run the National Space Intelligence Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base

The Space Force on June 24 established a new unit, Space Delta 18, responsible for providing "quality intelligence" to U.S. policy makers about the space domain, Lt. Gen. Stephen Whiting, commander of Space Operations Command, said at a ceremony in Dayton, Ohio.

Space Delta 18 will run the National Space Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. Whiting said it’s important for the Space Force to have a unit focused on threat analysis to help inform national defense policy and space systems acquisitions.

Space intelligence analysis was previously under the National Air and Space Intelligence Center. Space Force leaders pushed to have a separate organization co-located with NASIC.

"The question is why do we need to stand up a National Space Intelligence Center and the truth is that we needed a sharper focus on the space threat that is here today," Maj. Gen. Leah Lauderback, Space Force director of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, said at the ceremony.

Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines called the standup of the NSIC a "critical step to shape the future of the Space Force, improve acquisitions and drive innovation across the community."

Thank You SCOTUS? Stock Market Rallies After Court Overturns Roe
[Free Beacon] The stock market rallied on Friday in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade, with all three major Wall Street indexes snapping monthlong losing streaks.

The Dow Jones spiked early in Friday's session just as the Supreme Court announced its groundbreaking ruling. It remained strong and rallied into the close up more than 800 points, capping off the first week of gains this month. Both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted gains on Friday of about 3 percent.

Roe Is Dead and We Have Trump to Thank for That
[Red State] A lot has been said about former President Donald Trump over the years and quite a bit of it has been unkind. However, all of his accomplishments and failures during anyone’s presidency will always be overshadowed by what lasting effect he had well after leaving the White House.

Today, with the overturning of Roe v Wade, Trump’s legacy has been cemented as one of the greatest pro-life presidents in the history of our nation.

Trump is the one who reinforced our courts with three justices that would interpret the law as it was written, not as activists would like it to be interpreted. Justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett were all appointed to the court by Trump, allowing for the eventual collapse of Roe, a ruling that has allowed for the murder of millions and millions of innocent lives.

Love him or hate him, you have Trump to thank for this. The goal that many pro-life individuals have been working and striving for was made possible by the man whom many questioned when it came to his views on abortion.

Years down the line, much of what Trump did will be neutralized by bad decisions and incompetence. You can see this happening now with our economy as the work he’d done to repair and strengthen it is being demolished by an administration that clearly has no desire to do what’s necessary to maintain stability.

Alex Vershinin: The Return of Industrial Warfare
[RUSI] Can the West still provide the arsenal of democracy?

The war in Ukraine has proven that the age of industrial warfare is still here. The massive consumption of equipment, vehicles and ammunition requires a large-scale industrial base for resupply — quantity still has a quality of its own. The mass scale combat has pitted 250,000 Ukrainian soldiers, together with 450,000 recently mobilised citizen soldiers against about 200,000 Russian and separatist troops. The effort to arm, feed and supply these armies is a monumental task. Ammunition resupply is particularly onerous. For Ukraine, compounding this task are Russian deep fires capabilities, which target Ukrainian military industry and transportation networks throughout the depth of the country. The Russian army has also suffered from Ukrainian cross-border attacks and acts of sabotage, but at a smaller scale. The rate of ammunition and equipment consumption in Ukraine can only be sustained by a large-scale industrial base.

Over Six in Ten French Say Country has Seen Too Much Immigration
[Breitbart] A poll released this week has revealed that 65 per cent of the French public believe that the country has seen too much immigration, with older French far more concerned with the issue.

The poll, which was conducted by the CSA Institute, revealed that 65 per cent of French people overall say that the country has seen too much immigration with a small minority claiming that France has not seen enough immigration.

When broken down by age, only those in the 18 to 24-year-old demographic thought France had not seen enough immigration at 60 per cent, while 72 per cent of people 50 to 64 think France has seen too much immigration, broadcaster CNews, which sponsored the survey, reports.

Politically, those on the right are far more concerned about immigration than left-wing parties, however, among supporters of the far-left La France Insoumise party, just 51 per cent said that there had not been enough immigration into France, while the number was much higher among other left-wing parties.

Day 2: Pro-Abortion Democrats Riot in Democrat-Run Cities LOL
[Breitbart] Now that the moral and legal atrocity known as Roe v. Wade has been overturned, Democrats are entertaining the rest of us by rioting in Democrat-run cities.

Gee, who would have thought that the same people who want to kill innocent babies just because would become violent if they didn’t get their way?

You see, that’s the thing about Democrats...

You take away their slaves; they start a whole Civil War.

You make killing innocent babies a little more difficult; they riot.

But just like most of the Civil War was fought in the Democrat party’s slave-owning South, pro-abortion Democrats are not only rioting in their own cities; they’re rioting in cities where they still have the right to butcher innocent babies. So...

L-to-the-M-to-the-F-to-the-A-to-the-O.

#6  The suppression of much of the anticipated "spontaneous" violent protests across the country is so revealing about the true nature of the Demokrat Party street-level power. They whip up the useful idiots and their lap-dog media present it as a representation of "public outrage", or they don't if it jeopardizes their other media campaigns like J6 as a preemptive Trump attack. Massive rioting with actual violence would re-frame the idea of "insurrection" by unarmed, polite, conservatives walking around the Capitol building, often with police minders. So, we are seeing the paucity of real spontaneous reaction and what it actually shows about the reaction to SCOTUS.

4 terrorists killed during intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan: ISPR
[Dawn] Four bad boyz were potted during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in the Dossali area of the North Wazoo district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Saturday.

"During the exchange of fire, four bully boyz got killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists," the military's media affairs wing said.

It added that the bully boyz were "actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces".

On June 24, the Pakistain Army had killed two bully boyz in Kulachi area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan
... the Pearl of Pashtunistan ...
district.

Earlier, security forces had killed six bully boyz belonging to the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) during a search operation in Paroom area in Balochistan

's Panjgur district. Security forces had conducted an operation on a tip-off regarding the presence of bully boyz in Zamran Range near Paroom.

The ISPR said the slain bully boyz were involved in attacks on checkposts as well as IED attacks on security convoys in Paroom and surrounding areas of Panjgur.

The forces also recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition which, according to the ISPR, were to be used by bully boyz for disrupting peace in the area.

Facing heat from FATF, 26/11 planner Sajid Mir who was a myth becomes a reality in Pakistan
[OneIndia] Pakistain denied his existence at first and when the pressure increased, they said he was not a handler but a Mullah. The man is Sajid Mir who Pakistain claims to have arrested.

Mir was David Headley's handler who carried out the reconnaissance of Mumbai prior to the attacks of 26/11. An ISI asset, Mir carries an FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
bounty of $5 million on his head. In arresting Mir, Pakistain has once again displayed that it is all so predictable and the action comes at a time when the cash strapped nation is trying to wriggle out of the Grey List of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Pakistain has denied the very existence of Mir to such an extent that one had wondered whether the man was a myth.

The Intelligence files indicate clearly that Mir was the most important person in the 26/11 attacks. Until 2020, Pakistain denied the existence of this man. An Intelligence Bureau official tells OneIndia that Mir was working with the ISI before he was tasked the job of organising and overseeing the attacks of 26/11.

When Mir's name cropped up for the first time, Pakistain denied his involvement. In fact Islamabad spun a theory that the man being referred was a case of mistaken identity. Pakistain said that Mir was not part of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, but is a Moslem holy man.

The Intelligence files also show that he was withdrawn of all duties post the attack. The Indian Intelligence also managed to track his addresses to Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Mir, who has been given seven tier security was more or less a myth for long as the information on him was highly guarded by the ISI. Mir is a top player in the Lashkar-e-Tayiba. He has been called as an international terrorist as he has carried out operations in different parts of the world including La Belle France.

Prior to the 26/11 attack, he had visited India as a cricket fan. It is believed he was here to study the targets that the Lashkar-e-Tayiba was planning to hit on November 26 2008.

The 1976 born terrorist, Mir was initially holed up at Murdike as per the intelligence provided to India by the Mossad. Now his home is the near the Ganda Nala lane in Lahore Pakistain which is very close to Murdike which also happens to be one of the main base camps of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba.

No amount of surveillance done by the Indian agencies was able to track this man down. However it was the Mossad agents who had provided India with ample information and his movement and it was found that he had moved into the Muridke camp of the Lashkar.

J&K: Police bust Lashkar-e-Taiba narco-terror funding module in Budgam; 4 arrested
[OneIndia] In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, security forces have busted a narco-terror funding module of proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...
by arresting four terrorist associates.

As per Official sources, Police in Budgam along with 53 Rashtriya Rifles and 181Bn CRPF arrested four terrorist associates in central Kashmir's Budgam district.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested terrorist associates were involved in providing logistic support to proscribed terror outfit LeT by distributing proceeds of narcotics to active forces of Evil and terror operatives of the outfit. Investigations also revealed that module had been working on the directions of terror operatives for collection of narcotics and subsequently distributing the proceeds of narcotics among the terrorists.

Moreover, five vehicles have also been seized which were purchased from the proceeds of narcotics sales with the intention of keeping the money proceeds safe and were set to be sold on the directions of active forces of Evil or terror operatives (handlers) as and when the money/payment was required by the terrorists.

Besides, incriminating material of proscribed terror outfit LeT, explosive substance including 03 grenades, 02 AK-Magazines and 65 rounds of AK-47 were recovered from their possession.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation is in progress.

[IsraelTimes] Risk of COVID outbreak cited as reason for releasing on bail those on trial for Nizar Banat’s death; rights advocate says move ’illegal’ without judicial order

Fourteen Paleostinian security force members on trial over the killing of prominent activist muppet Nizar Banat, whose death sparked rare protests against the Paleostinian Authority, have been released on bail, multiple sources said Wednesday.

The group formally asked for their release on Tuesday, which was granted by the prosecution on the condition that they attend their court hearings, a top Paleostinian security official who requested anonymity told AFP.

The risk of coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

spreading in the West Bank prison where they were held was cited as grounds for their release in a letter seen by AFP, written by the prosecutor responsible for oversight of Paleostinian security forces, Abdelnasser Jarrar.

"The murderer cannot be a judge," Jihan Banat told AFP, describing the decision to release the suspects on bail as "political."

"If the Paleostinian Authority is worried about the spread of the coronavirus, why doesn’t it release all the other prisoners held on charges?"

Banat died in June last year after security forces stormed his home in the flashpoint city of Hebron and dragged him away.

The top Paleostinian prosecutor has accused the 14 security force members of beating Banat to death. The PA has promised accountability through a military trial in the West Bank.

The Independent Commission for Human Rights, a Paleostinian public body, said there were "irregularities throughout the release process."

"There is real concern about the lack of legitimate court procedures in this case," he added.

‘They call it electricity bomb here bcz [because] they don't know real name’
Looooong piece full of speculation from a few years ago. Grab your favourite reading beverage, and perhaps a couple of pastries, and enjoy.
[TheDrive] Is The United States Firing Off “Electricity Bombs” in Syria? War zones are full of bogus rumors, but the U.S. military is doing a great deal of very real work on exotic electric weapons.

It sounds like something straight out of Call of Duty video game sequel, James Bond movie, or Batman comic. Troops call in an air strike, but instead of high explosives, the pilots employ a weapon that screws with the enemy’s electronics, disabling them or making them catch fire or even explode, becoming little bombs in of themselves. But it’s not a plot device from a Hollywood blockbuster or video game. It’s a detail passed along from a journalist in Syria – and what’s more, some part of the report might be true. We've seen at least one similar rumor emanating from a modern battlefield in the past.

The new report emerged on July 7, 2017, when Jenan Moussa, a “roving reporter Arabic Al Aan TV,” an Arabic-language satellite television network with its headquarters in the United Arab Emirates, wrote on Twitter that members of the U.S.-supported Syrian Democratic Forces told her American warplanes sometimes dropped an “electricity bomb.” The SDF fighters added that when the weapon went off, anyone carrying metallic items would “burn.”

Opening Harry C Byron's WWII Footlocker
[YouTube] Harry Columbus Byron, Jr. came to Tappahannock in 1996 to join his sisters and his nephews, Phil Stinchcomb and Gary Youngling. The extended family had settled here after Phil’s employer transferred him to Tappahannock. For 20 years, Byron lived comfortably in his cherished cabin on Youngling Place in Dunnsville until he was moved to The Orchard in Warsaw, for a short time, before he passed away in 2016. At the age of 98 his physical health was poor but his mental health was sharp as ever.

He served as a U.S. Army Private First Class and Technician 5 during World War II and kept a neat footlocker of his clothes, photos, and treasured memorabilia. After he died, his nephews, Phil and Gary, discovered his WWII footlocker under a pile of blankets in a closet. They agreed to donate the footlocker and its contents to the Essex History Museum to be shared as it saw fit. The footlocker and its contents will be on display at the Essex History Museum in the Historic District of Tappahannock, when the museum reopens after coronavirus pandemic. In the meantime, this video not only opens the footlocker, but it opens the treasurers of a young Army soldier during World War II.

Captured Severodonetsk 90% destroyed
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Vesti] Russians do not hesitate to show such photos today, signing them "Severodonetsk is completely liberated from Ukrainian neo-Nazis"

Severodonetsk is completely occupied.

"After the withdrawal of units of our troops, the enemy is consolidated in the regional center of Severodonetsk and satellite villages: Sirotin, Voronovo and Borovskoye," head of the Lugansk regional military administration Sergei Gaidai said on Saturday evening, June 25. He noted that now it is possible to leave Severodonetsk only through the temporarily occupied territories.

"The Rashists establish their own rules in the city, appointed a "commandant", shoot propaganda stories with people leaving Azot's shelters. The city is 90% destroyed, it will be very difficult to survive there, the orcs will not be able to restore communications," Gaidai notes.

The head of the region added that "this is not for long, we will return our city, Severodonetsk is Ukraine."

The fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have to move away from Severodonetsk, since there is no point in being in broken positions, Gaidai said yesterday . At the same time, in the morning and afternoon reports of the General Staff it was reported that the fighting for Severodonetsk was continuing. In the meantime, the defenders of Severodonetsk withdrew from the city to new, more fortified positions.

Earlier, Gaidai claimed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could recapture Severodonetsk, although this city has no special strategic significance.

#1  Earlier, Gaidai claimed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could recapture Severodonetsk, although this city has no special strategic significance.

So typical of Zelensky and his handlers to waste their best troops in pointless last stands of no strategic value whatsoever. Their entire approach is focused on winning the propaganda war: every battle is to be portrayed as another Stalingrad; the struggle is between the forces of light & goodness and the forces of totalitarian darkness, the Shire vs the Orcs. All of it an absurd theater cal show staged by the little comedian playing a T-shirted De Gauls.

All throughout this farce the western peoples have been lied to repeatedly. Billions in aid have been squandered or stolen. Thousands have been killed.

This is the worst catastrophe since the Vietnam War. Even worse than Iraq. A total, crushing failure.

Mali’s army neutralizes 50 extremists

Mali’s army said it had “neutralized” 50 extremists in an area in the center of the country where more than 130 civilians were killed a week ago.

The government blamed al-Qaeda-affiliated extremists for the massacre of civilians in Diallassagou and two neighboring villages last weekend, the latest mass killings in the Sahel region.

“Fifty (extremists were) neutralized” in the Diallassougou area where “the operational priorities were directed following the terrorist attack against the populations on the night of June 18 to 19,” the army said in a press release late Friday.

The army also reported “two terrorist watchmen neutralized” in the central Mondoro area, in addition to “eight terrorist suspects arrested” in the south of the country during a separate operation.

The government has blamed al-Qaeda-affiliated Macina Katiba
...one of the key members of JNIM (Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin), Al Qaeda in North Africa’s franchise in Mali. Macina Katiba is active in Mali’s central Mopti region..
extremists for the killings of 132 civilians in the Diallassagou area in central Mali, one of the hotbeds of the violence that has plagued the Sahel for years.

The group denied carrying out the massacre in a statement, the SITE Intelligence monitoring group said Friday.

The Diallassagou bloodshed is one of the worst civilian killings Mali has seen in recent years.

The Sahel country has since 2012 been rocked by extremist insurgencies.

Violence began in the north and then spread to the center and to neighboring Burkina Faso and Niger.

According to local sources, huge military forces belonging to Musleh al-Tharhani, police Chief of Dar Saad, and Saleh al-Sayed, director of Lahj security, stormed and raided the house of transport brigade commander Amjad Khaled in the north of Aden.

The operation came hours after Amjad Khaled issued a statement accusing the STC of masterminding the series of recent assassinations in Aden city.

In the statement, Amjad Khaled revealed the involvement of these factions in masterminding the assassinations in Aden, including the commander of the Al-Anad axis, Thabet Jawas.

Amjad Khaled informed senior authorities about a plan to target Jawas a year before the crime was carried out, the statement said.

Earlier last week, the so-called anti-terrorism faction in Aden published the results of what it described as investigations into the killing of Thabet Jawas, accusing Amjad Khaled of masterminding the operation.

689 mines removed in Yemen in just one week
by Emad Almarshahi

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] The Executive Center for Mine Action announced the removal of 689 mines, explosive devices and ammunition remnants of the US-Saudi-UAE aggression in several governorates within a week.

The center explained that during the period from June 18 to 23, the center’s teams worked to clear an area of 33,386 square meters of war remnants, and a total of 689 mines and remnants of the aggression were discovered and collected, including 23 anti-tank mines, 37 explosive devices, and a total of 647 shells and various ammunition.

The center’s teams have also placed hundreds of warning signs about the dangers of mines and cluster bombs in the streets, roads and entrances to the civil facility in Al Hawk District of Hodeidah Governorate.

The mine center works in difficult conditions and lack of equipment, as the US-Saudi aggression has prevented the entry of mine detectors since 2018, while field teams face multiple dangers and obstacles because of this.

The victims of cluster bombs have reached more than 25,000 civilians since the beginning of the US-Saudi aggression on Yemen. The Director of the Executive Center for Mine Action, Brigadier General Ali Safra, has pointed out that the support and resources allocated to field clearance do not reach the level of 2% of what is required to be cleaned.

The director of the Executive Center for Mine Action Brigadier Ali Safra stated that Hodeidah, Bayda, Ma’rib, Jawf, Nihem and Saada are the most infested areas for mines and bombs, in which the aggression used the most deadly and latest military technology in the country.

He explained that the Center is continuing to work to clear areas contaminated and affected by the bombs and mines of the US-Saudi aggression, pointing out that mines and remnants – especially cluster bombs – have become a national issue and a societal problem that must be disposed.

The Executive Center for Mine Action announced the discovery of 544 mines and cluster bombs left over from the aggression during the first week of January 2022.

The Mine Center’s field work is concentrated in dangerous areas and densely populated directorates. However, the UN’s curtailment of its support programs and the coalition’s prevention of the introduction of detectors raises the specter of death that threatens the lives of women and children.

US court sentences Iraqi man to over three years in prison for defrauding
[Rudaw] A court in the United States sentenced an Iraqi man to over three years in prison, accusing him of leading a conspiracy to defraud the US refugee programs, said the Department of Justice in a statement on Friday.

Aws Muwafaq Abduljabbar,
...who lived and worked for the US State Deptartment in Jordan...
44, was sentenced to 37 months in prison by a judge in the US District Court for the District of Columbia after pleading guilty in January to the role he allegedly played in a scheme to cheat the US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), said the Department in the statement.

In addition to Abduljabbar, the conspiracy also involved Haitham Isa Saado Sad
...Jordanian who lived and worked for the State Dept. in Jordan...
and Olesya Leonidovna Krasilova,
...Russian who worked for State in Russia...
both also aged 44, who were previously employed in US State Department offices in Jordan and Russia, respectively.

"As part of their duties, both defendants had access to the State Department’s Worldwide Refugee Admissions Processing System (WRAPS), a database containing sensitive, non-public information about refugee applicants and their family members," read the statement.

Abduljabbar had paid Sad and Krasilova to steal records from the database, in particular those from Iraqi applicants, allowing the former to assist applicants in receiving fraudulent admission into the US.

The US in March resumed reviewing cases of Iraqis that have served alongside US service members, over a year after the program was put on hold in January 2021.

In May, Chasib Hafedh Saadoon al-Fawadi,
...who forgot to mention on his application that he’d been on the Iranian payroll back home as a member of one of the Shiite Popular Mobilization Forces...
an Iraqi who lived in New York, was sentenced to 48 months in prison after allegedly admitting to submitting false information to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services while applying for permanent residency in the country in 2017.

Palestinian teen killed by IDF gunfire; military says group threw rocks at road
[IsraelTimes] Mohammad Hamad, 16, dies of wounds; IDF says troops opened fire while carrying out arrest after group threw stones at highway near settlement; no further clarification given

A Paleostinian teen died of his wounds hours after he was shot by Israeli troops on Friday, Paleostinian officials said.

Mohammad Hamad, 16, was a resident of the village of Silwad, near Ramallah.

He was shot and maimed on Friday evening and died hours later, an unnamed Silwad councilor told AFP on Saturday.

The teen was near a road leading to the neighboring settlement of Ofra when he was shot, the councilor said.

The official Paleostinian news agency Wafa said that Hamed was maimed by Israeli gunfire and then taken away by Israeli forces. It said the teen died in Israeli custody, and that the army was expected to release the body later Saturday.

A spokesperson for Israel Defense Forces told Army Radio that there was a group throwing rocks at the road, and that troops opened fire while carrying out an arrest.

There was no clarification given as to why the troops had opened fire during the arrest procedure.
Clearly the author hasn't read his own writings
Settlers have said that there has been an increase in stoning incidents on roads in the West Bank in recent months.

Israeli security forces have stepped up their operations in the West Bank following a deadly wave of terror attacks inside Israel that left 19 people dead since March 22.

At least 46 Paleostinians were killed over the same period, according to Paleostinian officials.

Some were shot by Israeli soldiers while committing terror attacks, while others were engaged in violent mostly peaceful shootouts with soldiers, and still others — such as Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh — were bystanders.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Severodonetsk liberated
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] June 25 is the day of the second liberation of Severodonetsk from the Nazis.

In the evening of this day, the Russian Defense Ministry officially confirmed the establishment of full control over the entire territory of Severodonetsk. All civilian hostages at the Azot plant were also released. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also recognized the loss of Severodonetsk. Earlier, Zelensky said that the fate of Donbass was being decided in Severodonetsk. The fate of the Donbass was decided by the troops under the command of General Surovikin.

Borovskoye, Sirotino and Voronovo have also been liberated. The remnants of the enemy forces fled to Lisichansk, which has been in operational encirclement for 2 days. Gorskoe and Zolotoe were also liberated today. The remnants of the enemy forces tried to break through the minefields near Stepnoy.

All in all, a very successful day. We are waiting for the liberation of Lisichansk and the completion of the liberation of the territory of the LPR.

After that, Artemovsk, Soledar and Seversk will come to the fore. And of course Slavyansk.

The official statement of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the liberation of Severodonetsk:

The units of the People's Militia of the Lugansk People's Republic, with the support of Russian troops under the command of Army General S.V. Surovikin, as a result of successful offensive operations, completely liberated the cities of Severodonetsk and Borovskoye, the settlements of Voronovo and Sirotino of the Luhansk People's Republic.

Thus, the enemy's attempt to turn the industrial zone of the Severodonetsk enterprise "AZOT" into a stubborn center of resistance was thwarted. Currently, the territory of this enterprise is controlled by units of the People's Militia of the Lugansk People's Republic.

With the liberation of Severodonetsk and Borovskoye, the entire left-bank territory of the Seversky Donets within the borders of the Lugansk People's Republic came under its full control.

More from Rozhin:
War in Ukraine. Summary 06/25/2022

[ColonelCassad] 1. Severodonetsk.
The city has been completely liberated, including the entire industrial zone of the Azot plant. All civilian hostages have been released.

Borovskoye, Voronovo and Sirotino were liberated. The remnants of the enemy forces from Severodonetsk withdrew to Lisichansk.

2. Zolotoye.
The liquidation of the boiler is completed. The remnants of the enemy forces tried to break through the minefields towards Disputed.

Like Severodonetsk, Zolote, together with Gorsky, will actually disappear from military reports in the coming days, just as Mariupol disappeared.

So far, there is no clarity on the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (killed / wounded / prisoners) in Severodonetsk, Gorsky and Zolote - up to 800 prisoners and more than 1000 killed were declared yesterday.

3. Lisichansk.
The city is in an operational environment. The only road to the city from Seversk is under fire control of the RF Armed Forces.

There are signs of preparations for the withdrawal of the AFU grouping from Lisichansk to Seversk.

Today, fighting began directly in Lisichansk itself and on the outskirts of the Lisichansk refinery.

The battles for Belaya Gora and Privolye continue.

4. Soledar.
Fights for Berestovoye and Belogorovka, as well as near the Artemovsk-Lysichansk highway in the area of the captured Nikolaevka. The pressure on the enemy front north of Soledar will obviously increase in the coming days. The enemy, in turn, will prepare to defend the Soledar-Seversk line.

5. Artemovsk.
Fights in Klinovoe and near Pokrovsky. So far, it has not been possible to completely cut off the Novolugansk and Uglegorsk TPPs. The enemy is still holding Semigorye.

6. Avdievka.
Positional battles near the Avdievka-Konstantinovka highway and on the outskirts of New York. After the build-up of counter-battery work on our part, the intensity of shelling of Donetsk decreased somewhat.

In addition to terrorist shelling, the enemy fires at the DPR army units and targets ammunition depots. Our troops are focused on the destruction of guns and MLRS of the enemy.

7. Ugledar.
Quite intense fighting continues in the area of Yegorovka and Pavlovka. The enemy is trying by his activity to force the command of the RF Armed Forces to reduce pressure in other directions and along the way to improve their tactical position, taking advantage of the fact that there are no large forces in the Uludar direction now.

8. Kharkov.
The RF Armed Forces have seized the operational initiative in this direction and are putting pressure on the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Uda, Tsupovka, Dementievka and Verkhny Saltov.

A direct threat to Kharkov and Chuguev has not yet been created - so far, the UAF is gradually taking away what was lost in May during the counteroffensive of the UAF to the border.

9. Slavyansk.
Fighting in the area of the Valley and Krasnopolye, as well as in the area of Prishib, Bogorodichny and Sidorovo. The pace of progress here is still low.

10. Nikolaev.
Positional battles in the Nikolaev and Krivoy Rog directions. The activity of both sides is constrained by artillery.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue to inflict intensive strikes on manpower and equipment in Nikolaev, incidentally inflicting strikes on Krivoy Rog and in the Nikopol directions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to fire missiles at Kherson and Skadovsk.

11. Odessa, Izyum, Zaporozhye - no significant changes.

#3  How remarkably foolish it was for the US not to force Zelensky to negotiate seriously in March.... and foolish of Biden in late 2021 to allow, or perhaps urge, Zelensky to rip up the Minsk II Accords and vow he would seize Crimea and gain NATO membership.

The Ukrainians have lost everything. Their country is destroyed, they have no economy to speak of. They are completely dependent on strangers' largesse. All because they did the bidding of some insane Washington neoconservatives who thought by spilling Ukrainian blood, they'd teach Vladimir a lesson.

A total fiasco. Such an extraordinary waste. So foolish.

Back on the streets: Two members of Rotherham grooming gang are quietly freed from jail after serving just HALF of their 10 year terms for rape offences
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Qurban Ali and Tayab Dad both had 10 year terms for part in scandal

  • But the pair have since been released on licence half-way through their sentence

  • Rotherham grooming gangs sexually abused and trafficked up to 1,400 girls
Under the current legal system, a prisoner serving a determinant sentence for a fixed length of time, will be released under the supervision of the probation service after serving half their term.

MailOnline can reveal that Ali, 59, jailed in February 2016, after being found guilty of conspiracy to rape, was released in 'early' 2021 and is currently on probation.

Similarly, Dad, 40, who was found guilty of one count of rape at a second trial in February 2017, was released from prison in the first few months of this year.

Both men are currently on license, with strict conditions, although it is not known whether this restricts their movement or prevents them from returning to the Rotherham area or south Yorkshire.

Because of the legal rules in place governing inmates' rights under determinant sentences, officials were unable to refer their cases to the Parole Board for assessment.

In cases where their is an indeterminate sentence - such as a life sentence for murder where the court thinks a person is a danger to the public - a prisoners' release follows a parole hearing.

The Parole Board has the power to grant a release under license or to reject the parole bid. In the case of being turned down, the board will summarise its findings in a report.

Assailant sentenced to 15 months in prison for 2021 mob attack on Arab driver
[IsraelTimes] Yaakov Cohen also given 8-month suspended sentence, ordered to pay NIS 5,000 compensation to Saeed Mousa for assaulting him in Bat Yam during Israel-Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, war.

Tel Aviv District Court on Wednesday sentenced a man to 15 months in prison for participating in a mob attack on an Arab motorist in the central coastal city of Bat Yam during a period of inter-community violence last year.

The Tel Aviv District Court also gave Yaakov Cohen an eight-month suspended sentence and ordered him to pay NIS 5,000 (around $1,450) in compensation to the victim, Saeed Mousa. Cohen has been in jug for 13 months, which will be considered time served.

Cohen, 32, was convicted in April of inflicting serious bodily injury under a plea bargain.

Prosecutors intend to appeal the sentence, according to the Ynet news site. A conviction for inflicting serious bodily harm can carry up to 14 years in prison.

The incident took place in May, when a mob yanked Mousa from his car and proceeded to beat him in an assault that left him motionless and bloodied on the ground, and seriously injured.

Cohen is alleged to have struck Mousa’s car and kicked him after he was pulled out of the vehicle by the crowd.

The prosecution accepted Cohen’s argument that he had thought the mob attacked Moussa because he was a terrorist. In return, any references to racist motives were dropped from his case.

He is the second person to be convicted in the case; several others have been charged.

In January, Lahav Nagauker was sentenced to one year in prison for his involvement in the attack. Nagauker, who was 20 at the time, was convicted earlier of incitement to violence and racism as part of a plea deal that resulted in lighter charges.

The court said Nagauker was not involved in the actual attack, but threw a bottle at Moussa’s car, damaging the rear windshield. The State Attorney’s Office appealed to the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
over his sentencing, arguing it was too lenient.

The beating, which took place in the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam, occurred while Israel was at war with the Hamas terror group in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip. The 11-day war ignited an unprecedented wave of internecine Jewish-Arab violence in cities around the country.

At least 10 people have been charged in the incident. In all, hundreds of people, most of them Arabs, were arrested for the nationwide violence, which saw mobs of Jews and Arabs vandalize property and violent mostly peacefully clash, in some cases resulting in deaths.

Two juvenile defendants whose names are barred from publication admitted in plea agreements to assaulting Moussa.

The unprovoked beating of the motorist was caught on live television, shocking the public.

Mousa was on his way to the beach in Bat Yam when he was set upon by a group that had gathered to attack Arabs and Arab-owned businesses in the Tel Aviv-area city, according to an indictment filed in the case.

According to prosecutors, Mousa attempted to reverse away from the mob, but hit a car behind him. He then accelerated forward, with people jumping out of the way, before crashing into another car.

He was then dragged out of the car by the mob, with some claiming he had attempted to run over pedestrians, and was beaten badly. He was taken to Ichilov Hospital at death's door, and his health has improved since.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: June 25th, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespndent] 23:52 The decision on the status of a candidate for Ukraine was made "in 30 seconds," Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Olga Stefanishyna said on the air of the telethon. According to her, immediately after the discussion about the Balkan countries, there was a mood for a difficult consideration of the issue of Ukraine - and suddenly information came that the decision had been made.

The Deputy Prime Minister named the third country that hesitated over Ukraine - this is Portugal, which has long maintained skepticism. As for Hungary, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, Zelensky's conversation with Orban on the eve of the EU summit played an important role.

22:59 Zelensky said in an evening video message that “Russian missile strikes are not just the destruction of our infrastructure, they are also very cynical, calculated pressure on the emotions of our people, able to break the spirit of Ukrainians."

The President recalled that the fifth month of a full-scale war began today: "The occupiers were going to capture most of our country on the fifth day, but they were forced to arrange such a missile display for the fifth month, which strategically does not change anything for Russia."

The head of state also said that on Monday, June 27, he would participate in the G7 summit: "The NATO summit will also be held this week. 45 missiles in half a day - and just on the eve of the meetings. Everything is clear. Another confirmation of our position. This is confirmation, that sanctions packages against Russia are not enough, more armed assistance is needed for Ukraine, and air defense systems - modern systems that our partners have - should not be in training grounds or in storage, but in Ukraine, where they are needed now.

22:47 The status of a candidate member of the EU gives Ukraine access to financial assistance and support programs totaling 14 billion euros, Adviser to the Prime Minister Kirill Kryvolap said on the air of the telethon. According to him, Kyiv will also get access to EU structural funds: "Ukraine can count on 90 billion euros a year of international assistance for 2-2.5 years."

22:45 Ukrainians who have entered Russia will be allowed to cross the border even without documents, Vereshchuk said on the air of the telethon: "We have an agreement with the border guards - if the Ukrainians manage to reach the border with Ukraine, we will let them through without passports, without identity documents.” "The main thing is to find a way to return home. Call us, we will help with tickets, help with passport documents."

According to her, the Russian-Ukrainian border is closed, so now people get back to Ukraine through third countries - mainly Estonia and Latvia. The Ministry of Reintegration intends to launch free buses from these countries.

22:39 Switzerland can start providing consular services to Russia and Ukraine, Swiss President Ignazio Cassis said, BBC reports. According to Kassis, Ukraine asked Switzerland for such a service - to provide consular assistance to its citizens who now live in Russia. And now, according to him, retaliatory negotiations are continuing with Moscow.

In a similar pattern - in the absence of diplomatic relations after the 2008 war - Switzerland helps Georgian citizens in Russia and Russians in Georgia. The Swiss embassy in Tbilisi has a department of Russian interests, and the embassy in Moscow has a department of Georgian interests.

22:06 As a result of today's attacks by Russians on the city of Sarny, Rivne region, three people were killed and four injured, said the head of the OVA Vitaliy Koval. Rescue robots continue.

22:03 Russia is not ready for serious negotiations, Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of the Presidential Office, said on the air of the telethon: "The main 'negotiations' are taking place on the battlefield." Zhovkva is sure that the topic of negotiations with the Russian Federation will not be the main one either at the OSCE summit or at the G7 summit.

21:57 Russia must respect all the rights of British citizens Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin "sentenced" in the "DNR", British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons said: "This is a fictitious case. It is completely unacceptable to talk about them as mercenaries. They are not mercenaries. "They are prisoners of war. They fought on the basis of the same contract as the Ukrainians, on the same terms as the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They have rights that Russia violates. That is why Russia must respect their rights." Simmons assured that everything possible is being done to free the British.

21:46 The leaders of the G7 countries have previously agreed on an embargo on Russian gold, Reuters reports citing sources. Gold exports are the second largest source of profit in the Russian state budget after energy exports. The 48th G7 Leaders' Summit will be held at the Bavarian castle of Elmau in Germany from 26 to 28 June.

21:34 In the Krasnopolsky community of the Sumy region this afternoon, two Russian helicopters, without flying into the territory of Ukraine, fired six missiles at one of the villages, said the head of the OVA Dmitry Zhivitsky. As a result, civilian infrastructure was destroyed and damaged - a hospital, a cultural center, a library, a school. The enemy also dropped two munitions onto the territory of the community from a drone. In all cases, there were no casualties.

21:12 Ukrainian troops withdrew from the destroyed Severodonetsk in the direction of Lysichansk, Major General Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, said in an interview with Reuters: "The actions taking place in the Severodonetsk area are a tactical regrouping of our troops. This is a retreat to advantageous positions to obtain a tactical advantage .Ukrainian forces are moving to higher ground to continue defensive operations."

20:47 Ukraine does not intend to take steps towards joining NATO, realizing the futility of such efforts because of the positions of individual countries of the alliance, Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of the OP, said in an interview with the Financial Times.
So much for Turkey’s attempted quid pro quo with Sweden about the Kurds.
20:16 On the territory of the Rivne region, the Russians launched two missile strikes in the evening, hit infrastructure facilities. Previously without casualties, said the head of the OVA Vitaliy Koval.

18:51 Lukashenka told Putin at a meeting in St. Petersburg that Lithuania's isolation of Kaliningrad is "actually a declaration of war." Lukashenka also asked Putin to help with a "mirror response" to NATO air flights with nuclear weapons near the borders of Belarus and said that Minsk is concerned about the "confrontational policy" of Poland and Lithuania: "We are very stressed by the confrontation policy pursued by the neighboring states of Poland and Lithuania. The policy is disgusting, the behavior is aggressive."

In turn, Putin told Lukashenka that the Americans have 200 nuclear tactical munitions in Europe, and 257 aircraft have been prepared for their possible use: “We must take care of our security. over the next few months, we will transfer the Iskander-M RTK to Belarus."

18:37 After the withdrawal of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians are fixed in the areas of Severodonetsk, Sirotinoye, Voronovoye and Borovsky, the General Staff reports. At the same time, their assaults in other places were repulsed.

18:34 As a result of another shelling of Kharkov, the nuclear subcritical installation Source of Neutrons was damaged. The buildings and infrastructure of the industrial site were damaged, the SNRCU reported. The radiation background in the experimental hall of the building is within the normal range, the installation itself has been transferred to a deep subcritical state.

18:07 The Russian army occupied Severodonetsk, the Ukrainian military retreated to more fortified positions , said the head of the military administration of the city Alexander Stryuk: "The city is completely under the occupation of the Russian Federation, which is already trying to establish its own rules there - a commandant has been appointed, he is collecting some kind of asset. The city so destroyed that it will be difficult for people to cope with this situation."

According to Stryuk, the civilians who were on the territory of the Azot plant are partially leaving it, and propaganda videos are being filmed with them. Now there is no opportunity to leave the city for the territory controlled by Ukraine - only for the occupied ones.

Kadyrov said that 800 civilians had been "liberated" from the territory of the Azot plant. The head of the Lugansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai, said a few days ago that 568 people remained at Azot, including 38 children - mostly employees of the enterprise and their families, they refused to evacuate.

17:56 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed the data of British intelligence that the Southern Group of Russian troops in Ukraine is commanded by General of the Army Sergei Surovikin. According to DW, this was reported by a representative of the Russian ministry. ‘Mentally Ill’ Man Sentenced to Care After Conviction For Killing Five in Bow-and-Arrow Attack
[Breitbart] A man was found guilty Friday of murder and attempted murder for fatally stabbing five people and wounding four others in southern Norway when he attacked strangers with a bow and arrows and knives.

The Buskerud District Court sentenced Espen Andersen Bråthen
...Danish known wolf — mostly for schizophrenia, burglary, drugs, and self-radicalizing himself into a threat after converting to Islam. Even his friends said he was a ticking time bomb. He is also in the Rantburg archives as Espen Andersen Braathen...
to compulsory mental health care. Three forensic psychiatric experts who assessed him concluded he has chronic paranoid schizophrenia and was mentally ill at the time of the attack on Oct. 13, 2021. Both the prosecution and the defense had called for compulsory mental health care for Andersen Bråthen.

Andersen Bråthen was found guilty of 11 counts of attempted murder for shooting at people with a bow and arrows in Kongsberg, a former mining town of 26,000 people. He was carrying 62 arrows and four knives at the time of the attack.

The three-judge court said the defendant had explained during the trial that started in May and lasted until June 6 "that he had decided to kill people in order to achieve rebirth. He said he thought he was going to go blind. The accused therefore believed that it was urgent to kill."

Andersen Bråthen had watched "a large number of videos" showing situations where people were stabbed, and had explained "that he watched such videos to learn how to use weapons so that they became as deadly as possible," the court said.

The 38-year-old’s defense lawyer, Fredrik Neumann, said, according to Norwegian broadcaster NRK, that his client "had delusions with religious and magical content."

"We are dealing with a sick person. A person who is without guilt," prosecutor Andreas Christiansen said in his final speech, Norwegian news agency NTB wrote. Another prosecutor, Vibeke Gjøslien Martins, said that he "did not stop until he was arrested, and he had a clear and distinct goal of killing more," NRK quoted her as saying.

Andersen Bråthen was arrested more than half an hour after he started firing arrows inside a grocery store and attacking people inside their homes. He attacked people with knives after his bow broke, the court said.

Andersen Bråthen also was sentenced to pay compensations to the victims.

Given, there is NO CURE for chronic paranoid schizophrenia, he will always be a threat to society and those around him.

Having taken 5 lives and injured 10+ others, to achieve what he called rebirth, instead of just committing suicide. He will get a lifetime of free room and board.

Which means the families that he adversely impacted will now continue to share in paying his room, board and medical care for life.

#2  The war was lost months ago. It is foolish and criminal to prolong it by even one day. Biden must force Zelensky back to the negotiating table -- without preconditions and with no more of this nonsense about how Ukraine "will" win because it "must" win and all that bullshit.

The European people see that the US led war against Russia is a total failure. The sanctions are hurting the West far more than they hurt Russia. The Ukrainians have suffered vastly greater losses than the Russians have. Ukraine as an independent self-sustaining nation has been utterly extinguished.

A totally predictable but nonetheless astonishing disaster. Truly amazing, for both its speed and its scope.

Iraq
Third rocket attack targets Sulaimani gas field in a week
[Rudaw] At least one rocket struck Khor Mor gas field, operated by the UAE-based Dana Gas in Chamchamal district of Sulaimani, a security source from the field told Rudaw, marking the third such attack in under a week.

The gas field was targeted by a Katyusha rocket which landed near a warehouse of the field, much like the previous two attacks on the field, the source said on the basis of anonymity.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, the source added.

Meanwhile,

Rudaw news hound Peshawa Bakhtiyar said that it is unclear whether the attack came from a rocket, but the alarm system was rung in the field.

The scale of the damage is still unclear.

Iraqi President Barham Salih condemned the rocket attacks on Khor Mor gas field later on Saturday, saying they are "targeting the stability of the country and targeting the national economy."

This is the third such rocket attack on Khor Mor gas field in less than a week, with the field having been previously targeted on Wednesday and Friday.

On Friday, the gas field was targeted by at least one rocket which caused a fire to break out but reported no casualties or injuries.

A Katyusha rocket struck the field on Wednesday, slightly injuring two contractors.

Khor Mor field produces 452 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, according to Dana Gas.

The Kurdistan Region has been facing an unprecedented number of rocket and drone attacks since the beginning of the year, mostly blamed on Iran-backed militias.
