Journalists Tow Camper Behind Electric Truck, End in Stunning Failure When They Only Make it 85 Miles
[WesternJournal] Maybe you’ve seen the bumper sticker on a truck that says "Yes, this is my pickup. No, I won’t help you move."

If you have an electric pickup, you may want to think about reversing the idea of that bumper sticker. Because helping someone make a short-distance local move may be about all you can do.

That’s an exaggeration, of course, but not by much. Because if you want to tow a trailer or a boat, your destination had better be close; otherwise you’ll be making frequent stops to recharge your battery system.

YouTube publisher Fast Lane Truck did a comparison between an electric and a gas-powered pickup to determine how far each could tow a 3-ton box trailer.

The contestants were an electrified Ford F150 pickup vs. a GMC Denali Ultimate Edition with a 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine.

Each towed an identical new "toy hauler" trailer about 25 feet in length that, while empty, was large enough to transport an entirely-sheltered automobile.

The vehicles began their test in Longmont, Colorado, heading southbound on Interstate 25 toward Denver, about 33 miles away.

The F150 charged up and the GMC filled up before taking to the road. The electric truck’s computer estimated 160 miles of range, which included calculating for the size and weight of the trailer. The gas-powered GMC’s computer, also taking the trailer into account, estimated 264 miles of range.

Off they went, with the goal of the F150 getting 147 miles down the road to a fast-charging station in Pueblo, Colorado.

But that estimate was optimistic. The electric truck had only traveled 6 miles when the computer recalculated range from 160 to 150 miles, cutting things very close if it was to reach Pueblo. That called for a change of plans — the new charging stop was Colorado Springs, about 45 miles closer.

After going 50 miles, the electric truck recalculated its range to indicate it couldn’t even make Colorado Springs. South of Denver, the truck was down to a 20 percent battery charge and, concerned about being stranded with a dead battery, the driver had to turn around and drive the F150 back north to the Denver exurb of Castle Rock to find a fast charger.

With low battery warnings blazing, and power automatically reduced to 90 percent, the electric truck, with 9 percent left on its battery, hobbled into a Target parking lot in Castle Rock.

But that caused another problem. Battery chargers tend to be lined in rows on the edge of parking lots. Because they do not provide a drive-through like a traditional gas pump, they cannot accommodate a vehicle with a trailer.

As a result, the F150 test vehicle and trailer were blocking a major portion of Target’s parking lot. "They’re probably not going to sponsor us in the future," quipped one of the test participants.

The gas truck? Its computer showed 129 miles of remaining range, so that driver had enough range to return to their starting point in Longmont.
That Target is right in my downtown area. So sad when you can't even haul shit from Longmont to Pueblo.

#2  Probably would have been better to drop off the trailer, go back and recharge, then return, pick up the trailer again, and continue to the next recharging point.

Or carry a generator inside the trailer along with all the nasty fossil fuel you can tow.

#4  The batteries are heavy and each maker has different interfaces. They are expensive to the extent that compared to stealing catalytic converters the crime wave that would be produced would probably be breathtaking.

Still, it's a good idea.

#7  Can one get a spare battery for such things,...

It is easy to imagine an automated electric 'gas station' where you pull in, slide out the old battery, slide in a new one, and away! That implies a level of interoperability and manufacturer cooperation that has to be baked into the design. Batteries weigh about 1,000 so moving them around is interesting. I wonder what kind of warranty you get on a pre-owned battery? No doubt the lawyers would have a field day with the liability issues.

The ignored question here is where the electricity to put in the batteries comes from in the first place.

#8  Based on intel from an acquaintance (as Ford hasn't publicly published this yet) battery packs for the F-150 Lightning weigh between ~1,800 for 'Standard Range - 98 kWh' and ~2,400 pounds for the 'Extended Range - 131 kWh'.

#9  Innit funny. We have these vehicles from dozens of makers that all use exactly the same fuel. It's available literally everywhere. Most of these vehicles can go 300+ miles on one tank full.

#10  Interesting numbers, Mullah Richard. According to my calculations, an infinitely large battery would give you the ~300 mile range of an internal combustion engine.

[Shrieking Harpy] Elizabeth Warren Calls to Shut Down Crisis Pregnancy Centers ‘All Around the Country'
[Breitbart] Pro-abortion fanatic Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has called to shut down crisis pregnancy centers “all around the country” for their work in helping women seek alternatives to abortion.

Speaking with reporters, a visibly upset Warren falsely accused crisis pregnancy centers of fooling women out of getting an abortion, “In Massachusetts, right now, those ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ that are there to fool people who are looking for pregnancy termination help outnumber true abortion clinics by 3-t0-1. We need to shut them down here in Massachusetts and we need to shut them down all around the country.”

Elizabeth Warren’s condemnation of crisis pregnancy centers comes after multiple clinics around the country have been subject to vandalism and intimidation by radical pro-abortion groups like Jane’s Revenge. Just this week, a director of a crisis pregnancy center in California told the Senate Judiciary Committee that her clinic had to hire 24-hour security due to ongoing threats.

Pregnancy care centers from coast to coast are being targeted for violent assaults of vandalism and hateful attacks online and in the media,” said Heidi Matzke, the director of the Alternatives Pregnancy Center in California. “Just last week… a man approached our care center with an armed machete.” She added:

We have been forced to hire 24-hour on site security. We have had to reinforce doors and bullet-proof our walls. We’ve had to paint our building with anti-graffiti coating. We’ve added cameras, armed our staff with pepper spray and stopped running our mobile clinic because of threats of violence.

This past June, as the Supreme Court stood on the precipice of overturning Roe v. Wade, the radical abortion group Jane’s Revenge threatened domestic terrorism against crisis pregnancy centers.

“From here forward, any anti-choice group who closes their doors, and stops operating will no longer be a target. But until you do, it’s open season, and we know where your operations are. The infrastructure of the enslavers will not survive. We will never stop, back down, slow down, or retreat,” it said in an open letter.

#12  In Germany, in addition to the time limitation, the woman has to go to an obstetrician for counselling, then once she has a doctor’s note she can make an appointment of the procedure three days hence... so long as that still is within the time limit. I don’t recall if Germany’s health insurance plans cover the surgery.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
What's on Biden's schedule on his last day in Israel?
[Jpost] President Biden will travel to Bethlehem to meet with Mahmoud Abbas, Chairman of the Palestinian Authority.

US President Joe Biden will depart Israel Friday afternoon, on a direct flight from Tel Aviv to Saudi Arabia.

Much of his last day will focus on the Palestinian Authority, as he expected to announce that the US will contribute $100 million for the east Jerusalem hospital network. According to a senior administration official, the network provides services to 50,000 patients from east Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza annually.

MEETING WITH ABBAS
After visiting the Augusta Victoria hospital – without being accompanied by Israeli officials – he will travel to Bethlehem where he will meet with Mahmoud Abbas, Chairman of the Palestinian Authority.

“At the meeting, President Biden will underscore his commitment to a two-state solution which President Biden and Prime Minister Lapid both affirm their support for at the press conference,” the official said.

President Biden will announce an additional $201 million for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), the official said. “It has been a priority for President Biden to rebuild ties with the Palestinians that were severed by the previous administration.”

Biden will also announce that Israel and the Palestinian Authority will relaunch Israeli Palestinian economic discussions by reconvening the Joint Economic Committee that last met all the way back in 2009, the official added, saying this is “a long-awaited step.”

Later, he will visit the Church of the Nativity, “to underscore support for Christians who face challenges in the region, the official continued. “

FLIGHT TO SAUDI ARABIA
After that, he will become the first American President to fly directly from Israel to Saudi Arabia, where he will carry a message encouraging peace, stability, and an integrated, more interconnected region.

”After landing in Jeddah, President Biden will have bilateral meetings with Saudi leaders including the King, the Crown Prince, and ministers from across the Saudi government together with his team," said the official.

Speaking about Biden’s visit to Saudi Arabia, the official said that Biden is “committed to ensuring that the United States will not leave a vacuum in the Middle East to be filled by China, Russia or others.”

“That would be a great danger to the Middle East, to the people of the Middle East, and ultimately to the United States of America,” the official said. “So for Putin to be visiting Tehran at this moment in history, and we know that he is hoping to receive a significant number of drones and UAVs from Iran to fight his illegal war on aggression in Ukraine - that speaks for itself. Putin is making a bet on Iran, we’re making a bet on a stable, more integrated, more prosperous, more secure, Middle East.”

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Snack and Die Early
[American Thinker] Recently, I sat in my airplane seat before takeoff and watched a parade of the obese squeeze down the aisle. Many seemed barely able to shuffle through the narrow space; how they would maneuver their bodies into the 18"-wide seats that awaited them was another mystery.

Never was it more evident to me how unhealthy our society has become than witnessing that performance. I estimated that at least half the passengers on the airplane appeared sufficiently overweight to be clinically obese. How did this happen?

"Something to drink, sir?" asked the polite flight attendant as she passed my row. She placed the famous Southwest snack mix package next to my water. I studied the ingredients: Canola oil, soybean oil, corn syrup along with sugar. There were at least 40 separate ingredients listed, some of which I couldn’t pronounce, a few I didn’t even recognize.

I have eaten these bits of pretzels, crackers, and nuts, before; no doubt, they are sufficiently tasty and salty to make you want a second package. It even says right on the front of the package: "Snack and Smile." Maybe it should tell the truth: Snack and Die Early?

Many years ago, I woke up to the realization that the food industry and the government agencies that oversee them do not seem to have our best interests at heart. All you need to do to verify this point is look around you to see what the overconsumption of processed, highly refined foods has done.

It has led to a pandemic of chronic illness, autoimmune problems, heart disease, diabetes and more. Mix this ingestion of inflammatory chemicals with putting 70+ doses of different vaccines into every school age child’s arm, encouraging mothers to formula feed (when they can find and buy the product), and surrounding ourselves with new powerful electromagnetic fields and you begin to see the danger.

Big pharma has contributed to this new world of chemical engineering by providing and advertising a drug for every ailment. And many of the largest pharmaceutical companies are also in the food business as well.

You want to purchase anything for example you will scrutinized. Your LDL is too high you can't have that. You are allowed three potato chips with your four insects. Your alarm wakes you up and you are directed to walk three miles to begin your day. You have sat too long at your computer and it shuts off. Then at a moment of desire you are directed to avoid such activity. Snack and die early doesn't sound so bad.

#6  Note well, we have lived in a very narrow and unique period of human history when food was both readily available and accessible. This condition has lasted more than two or three generations now. The human body has evolved over thousands of years and its adaptation doesn't move that fast. The Navajo have been the canary in the cage in this case and its manifestation is now appearing in the population as a whole. Up till recently they survived in a very barren environment. Their bodies were adapted to extract every possible nutrient out of any food they could get. Now they suffer in general with diabetes and obesity. Two reasons they suffered disproportionately in the initial COVID wave.

Given the incompetency rampant in government these days, it looks like the rest of us are about to return to more basic dietary menus.

Afghanistan
US ‘Does Not Support Organized Violent Opposition to the Taliban’
What utter asininity.
[ToloNews] The US Department of State said that Washington does "not support violent mostly peaceful opposition against the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
"We are monitoring the recent uptick in violence closely and call on all sides to exercise restraint and to engage. This is the only way that Afghanistan can confront its many challenges," a State Department spokesperson told The Foreign Desk as cited by the Long War Journal.

"We want to see the emergence of stable and sustainable political dispensation via peaceful means. We do not support organized violent mostly peaceful opposition to the Taliban, and we would discourage other powers from doing so as well," the US State Department representative said.

Analysts said the Islamic Emirate needs to form a policy through which it can alleviate the current challenges in Afghanistan.

"Diplomatic representatives are meeting the representatives of the Islamic Emirate. We call for a policy to rescue Afghanistan from the current situation," said Ahmad Khan Andar, a political analyst.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats Chumbaloni was staring into a hole that was just .45 inch in diameter and was less than three feet from his heavily sweating face ...
the US Department of State in a separate statement expressed concerns over human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
abuses in Afghanistan.

"We are alarmed by human rights abuses in Afghanistan, often attributed to the Taliban, and are disturbed by the extensive restrictions on the enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms by Afghan women and girls. The resolution will enable Afghan civil society to address the HRC directly during its September session," the statement said.

"The concerns and resolutions have come from the international community but they have had no effect on the rights of girls and women in Afghanistan," said Beheshta Baluch, a women’s rights activist muppet.

Meanwhile,
...back at the alley, Slats Chumbaloni was staring into a hole that was just .45 inch in diameter and was less than three feet from his heavily sweating face ...
the Islamic Emirate denied any violations of human rights in Afghanistan and said that the rights of all citizens are ensured based on Islamic Sharia.

"The Islamic Emirate is committed to all the rights which are given by Islam to the people, and all their rights are ensured," said Bilal Karimi, deputy front man for the Islamic Emirate.

Earlier, the UN Human Rights Council issued a resolution expressing concerns over restrictions imposed by the Islamic Emirate on women.

The Taliban are objectively and deliberately evil in their own right, for which they receive no instruction whatsoever. They are directionally less evil than Al Qaeda and ISIS only because they don’t have the Arab kinks for slavery and public torture, preferring the simpler Pashtun pleasures of bacha boys and taking young wives from the daughters of their unable-to-protest neighbours. But they are equally totalitarian, if slicker about it because they ruled over the country once before, and have experience.

Polygamous Man Killed by His First Two Wives in Southwestern Afghanistan
Example #24942077 of why polygamy is a bad idea:
[KhaamaPress] A polygamous man who had three wives was reportedly murdered by two of them in the southwest Afghan province of Nimruz, according to the state-run news agency
...and if you can't trust the state-run news agency who can you believe?...
of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Local Taliban officials were cited by the Taliban-controlled Bakhtar News Agency, which said that this man had three wives and was murdered by his first and second wives.

According to the Taliban local officials, the women were aided in carrying out the murder by their brothers.

Nothing concerning the motive for the murder or how it was carried out was mentioned in Bakhtar’s report.

The victim’s neighbors, however, reported to the police that the victim’s first and second wives were not happy with the man’s third marriage.

Nevertheless, the wives and the accomplices were reportedly arrested in connection with the murder of this man.

A case of family violence occurred last week in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, resulting in the deaths of one man and the injuries of three others, two women and a man.

According to the authorities, the man killed one man and injured three others after reportedly attacking his ex-wife.

There have been more instances of family problems and domestic violence escalating into violence and murders nowadays.

#6  This is actually what we call the Nangarhar Peer Review. 'Scholars' of splinter offshoots of the deoband school are called hanafi; the original Taliban were all deobandi hanafi. Salafi are what you get after the infusion of wahabi doctrine by mulla Omar and the likes. Decades ago, multiple factions splintered off, some toward traditional hanafi fiqh, and some toward wahhabism which we also call salafism. Because Omar, Bin Laden, all these bastards were using the global islamic eschaton as their motivational pep talk, which was created by Abd al Wahhab. The ghalba-e-islam [world conquest], taqiya, aligning with Marxists, etc to achieve dominance and ...whatever. This brought a salafist character to the Taliban. And they allowed it as long as Islamabad and AQ and all were happily united in throwing out the west.

It suits the interests of the Paki ISI to keep Afghans divided between the two moronic dogmas, because a United pashtun would become... troublesome. They're more or less the same, just some doctrinal differences. But in this realm, the influence over families, communities, able bodies is power. And power in the islamofascist world comes from doctrine and charisma. Now, the seat of doctrine, Afghanistan's version of Corinth or Alexandria if you will, is Gawd forsaken Nangarhar, where all these shitty scholars have their own sects and schools. And they have followers who are all armed and suicidal.

We believe, and we have good reason to, that the Taliban have been trying to resurrect the original puritan hanafi Islam and cull salafist influence because it brings with it the hand of the Jama'at e islami Pakistan. And they do this by first picking religious arguments with oval salafis, then gunning them down for being 'wrong'. This is called the Nangarhar Peer Review.

Other parties... ahem... have used it to good effect to hurt the 'Stain often. The Taliban have gladly shredded multiple congregations of salafis in Pak with nails and ball bearings because they believed the Jama'at was proselytising that side of the Durand line 😉. Trust me, that's a good thing. These people must remain stupid. So there.

Kabul Asks Ex-ANDSF Soldiers Studying in India to Return
[ToloNews] Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior Affairs asked all military students who are in India and other countries to return to Afghanistan.

Abdul Nafi Takor, front man of the ministry, told TOLOnews that these students will be assigned to the country's security and defense institutions based on their expertise.

"Afghan soldiers in India are the assets of Afghanistan, we hope they return to the country; based on their expertise we will assign them to different security and defense institutions," Takor said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pound, the little lost dog backed into the corner and showed its teeth. And what big teeth they were!...
officials of the Afghanistan embassy in India said that military students have not decided yet to return to the country due to security threats.

"These students are afraid of returning to Afghanistan, because they have no assurances about their future," said Abdulhaq Azad, press director at the Afghanistan embassy in India.

But some military experts believe that for the return of soldiers from India, the Islamic Emirate should build trust.

"Most people think that these students who have studied in India are not committed to their country. This is not true, these are professional and patriotic people, trust should be built," said Assadullah Nadim, a military expert.

More than 200 military students have completed their studies in India during the past eleven months, and since 2005, India has provided educational opportunities for hundreds of Afghan soldiers.

-Land of the Free
Court: Air Force Cannot Discharge Troops Who Filed for Religious Exemptions from Vaccine Mandate
[Breitbart] A District Court for the Southern District of Ohio on Thursday morning issued a temporary restraining order prohibiting the Air Force from enforcing the vaccine mandate against any airman who has filed a request for a religious accommodation, according to court documents.

Judge Matthew W. McFarland granted a motion brought by airmen to extend a court order from March 31 that prohibited the Air Force from disciplining or discharging plaintiffs fighting the mandate based on their religious beliefs to all airmen who filed religious accommodation requests as a "class."

The court order is a temporary restraining order (TRO), which is an emergency measure to preserve the status quo for up to 14 days while the judge is considering granting a preliminary injunction (PI), which would in turn last through the entire litigation process.

If the judge continues to believe that the mandate is illegal, then the court will convert the TRO to a PI at the end of that window, effectively protecting all of these service members while the Biden administration appeals the decision to the Sixth Circuit appellate court.

“For the reasons, that follow, Plaintiffs have satisfied the Rule 23(a) prerequisites, as well as Rule 23(b)(1)(a) and Rule 23(b)(2). Thus, class certification is warranted,” the court order said.

#1  ...If the USAF/DoD had been smart - which, y'know, they ain't - what they should have done was approved, at random, about 10-15% of the religious exemption requests, instead of the almost zero percent they actually did approve.

Had they done so, they would have been able to point at a small but undeniably positive number, and given how bureaucracies work, they could have given any number of explanations for each one and even the media would have been able to back them up.

Sri Lanka
Southern Islamic Caliphate: Lankan crisis could spell bigger trouble for India
Thinking ahead, the way we wish our people would do.
[OneIndia] With the Sri Lankan crisis deepening, Indian security agencies fear that this could lead to an attempt to set up Southern Islamic Caliphate in the country

Indian security agencies are keeping a close watch on the developments in Sri Lanka as violence continues to rock the economically-hit nation. While on the diplomatic front, India has made it amply clear that it stands with the Sri Lankan people and the democratic process to elect a new leader, on the security front the radar of the agencies has gone up in states such as Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

With scores of refugees attempting to enter India, the Intelligence Bureau warns that with them could come the members who had in 2019 planned on setting up a Southern Islamic Caliphate.

The plan to set up a Southern Caliphate came to light in a big way following the 2019 bombings in Colombo. It was revealed during the investigation that the main accused Zaharan Hashim had instructed bully boyz in Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala to help establish the Southern Caliphate.

Clues about such a Caliphate was first found when on September 1 2018, a case was registered at a cop shoppe in Coimbatore. The case pertained to a criminal conspiracy hatched to further the objectives of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
by targeting Hindu leaders and activist muppets.

The case was handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and during the probe, the agency came across a video in which Hashim had urged the Moslem youth from Sri Lanka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu to establish Islamic rule in the nation.

A further probe led the NIA to a case in Kerala where it was found that three persons, Abdul Rashid Abdulla (Kozhikode), Bestin Vincent (Pallakad) and Ashfak Majeed (Kasargod), had travelled to Sri Lanka in 2016. All these men were also in touch with Hashim.

Further the NIA also said that like their accomplices in Kerala, these persons from Tamil Nadu too were in touch with Hashim and were helping him set up the Southern Islamic Caliphate.

The fear of radical elements spilling in comes in the wake of the agencies flagging the refugee crisis that could emerge in India considering the situation in the Island nation. An Intelligence Bureau official tells OneIndia that along with the refugee crisis comes the security nightmare.

In addition to the radical elements trying to make their way into states such as Tamil Nadu and Kerala, the agencies also fear that a Tamil-Sinhalese conflict may erupt as there has been a history of the same.

Retired cop among two arrested in Bihar for plotting to target PM Modi
[OneIndia] The Bihar police have busted a terror module in Patna and arrested two terrorists. The police said that the module was planning on creating an Islamic nation by 2047 and they also had Prime Minister Modi on their target.

The two arrested bandidos faceless myrmidons have been identified a Athar Parvez and Mohammad Jallauddin. The police said that they were being trained in Phulwari Sharif ahead of the PM's visit. They held meetings on July 6 and 7 and discussed ways to target PM Modi.

During the raids the police recovered incriminating material and one of them was a document called '2047 India Towards Rule of Islamic India.' The police also recovered 25 pamphlets of the Popular Front of India (PFI).

The raids were conducted following a tip-off from the Intelligence Bureau. The probe revealed that most of the youth who came to this place were from Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It was also revealed that the arrested persons got money from several nations including Pakistain, Bangladesh and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
to run campaigns against India.

The police said that Jallauddin is a retired police officer from Jharkhand. Both were associated with the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and later the PFI, Phulwari Sharif Assistant Superintendent of Police, Manish Kumar.

Meanwhile the National Investigation Agency has joined the probe and sources tell OneIndia that they have picked up a third suspect in the case.

[Breitbart] The International Monetary Fund (IMF) published a paper Wednesday that warned of dark, troubled economic times ahead when the world can expect to have less of everything except “social instability.”

It cautioned tighter government controls in a host of day-to-day areas will be needed including elevated taxation rates, trade restrictions, monetary tightening, and fiscal measures directed at wealthy economies addressing “climate change” to help redistribute wealth to “vulnerable” countries.

The paper, authored by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, was released as G20 ministers and central bank governors gather in Bali, Indonesia, to chart the next 24-months of global financial performance.

Georgieva, a former CEO of the World Bank and European Union (E.U.) commissioner, outlined the first problem is rising inflation which delivers punitive taxation without legislation.

She makes clear “Inflation is higher than expected and has broadened beyond food and energy prices. This has prompted major central banks to announce further monetary tightening—which is necessary but will weigh on the recovery. Continuing pandemic-related disruptions—especially in China—and renewed bottlenecks in global supply chains have hampered economic activity.”

It is going to be a tough 2022—and possibly an even tougher 2023, according to the Washington, DC, based organization with increased risk of recession on a global scale that will usher in an age of austerity and denial.

The way to strangle inflation is through tighter controls.

The IMF goes on to caution “Most central banks will need to continue to tighten monetary policy decisively. This is especially urgent where inflation expectations are starting to de-anchor.

[REGNUM] 1772–1793–1795 This set of numbers will not say anything to a non-Polish - but it is burned by fire in every Polish chest. We remember. We will never forget. "Jeśli zapomnę o Nich - ty, Boże na niebie, zapomnij o mnie!"

These dates are the years of the first, second and third partitions of Poland. There was another one, unofficially called the "fourth", when, following the results of the Vienna Congress of 1815, Russia received the Duchy of Warsaw (whose lands, called the Kingdom of Poland, were then called "Kongresuvka"), and there was a fifth - between the Third Reich and the USSR in 1939. But there are still three canonical sections, and we will build on this.

What happened in the last quarter of the 18th century on the East European Plain? Three absolute monarchies divided the territory of the gentry republic among themselves. Three states with regular armies, bureaucracy, a stable system of taxation, developed industry, trade, crafts, communication routes, ports and religious tolerance - divided among themselves mired in anarchy and arbitrariness, torn apart by inter-confessional, class, inter-ethnic and social contradictions, without a regular army , roads, ports and any industrial production, stuck in the era of religious wars, not even a country, but a territory .... Doesn't it remind you of anything?

Today's Ukraine is in many ways the Commonwealth of 1772. Yes, Ukraine has Volodymyr Zelenskythere is an army actively pumped up with modern European weapons, but this is perhaps its only difference from the Poland of Stanislaw August Poniatowski. And the rest... Ukraine, like the Commonwealth, draws the basis of its export potential in the black soil of the middle Dnieper region - exporting grain abroad (in the 17th century it was wheat, now it is the same, plus corn, soybeans, rapeseed and barley).

Ukraine, like the Commonwealth, is at war with the rebels in the East (then they were Zaporizhzhya Cossacks, today they are the rebels of Donbass). Ukraine, like the Commonwealth, is actively clearing its religious space - squeezing out disloyal, from the point of view of official Kyiv, confessions and forcing the rest to complete and absolute obedience. Yes, my dear reader, there is a religious war going on in Ukraine, which has not been remembered in Europe since the Peace of Westphalia!

And, finally, Ukraine, like the Commonwealth, does not believe in the forthcoming division of its territory between its neighbors and continues to hope for some generous allies in the West, who at the right time will give her shoulder and extend a helping hand.... Under Poniatowski, the role of noble saviors was to be played by the French; under Zelensky, the Anglo-Saxons were appointed to this role.

Yes, in the coming division of Ukraine, Poland is destined for the obscure role of Austria and Prussia - but we have at least two justifications. First, the population of Western Ukraine is ready to withdraw from the power of Kyiv and agree to acquire a new sovereign in the person of Warsaw.

And secondly, the aforementioned irredenta will allow, firstly, to save the cities and villages of five Western Ukrainian regions from the horrors of war and, secondly, to end this war itself - for the simple reason that Volodymyr Zelensky will simply have nothing to fight after the falling away of Western Ukraine ...

And the end of the war is, above all, saved lives. Thousands and thousands of lives. Which, if we do not allow the irredenta of Western Ukraine to happen, will also be on our conscience. Which is already difficult enough….

#2  Some people seem to think that this kind of thing cannot happen in the 21st century. But those borders have been shifting back and forth for over a thousand years and there really is nothing special about the 21st century. If Ukrainians, Poles and Russians hate each other so much that they really cannot get along it might be better to let them separate after the borders have been peacefully negotiated so as to avoid bloodshed. Plebiscites might be appropriate to help determine where the people who live in a region want those borders to be instead of having it imposed on them by politicians and generals. Well, I can dream can't I?

#3  I say we give Ukraine east of the Dnipro river to the Russians and the western part to Poland. The Russians will be happy with their new defensible border and the Poles cannot *bleep* things up worse than the Ukrainians have. It's a win-win!

Egyptian, Iranian officials met secretly in Muscat
[Jpost] Cairo assured Tehran Negev Summit not aimed against the Islamic Republic, sources say.

Senior Iranian and Egyptian officials held a secret meeting in Oman on June 27, during Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi’s visit to the sultanate, informed sources tell The Media Line.

“Egypt assured Iran during the meeting that the Negev Summit is not directed against Iran and will not include any military moves against it. The meeting discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip, the Syrian issue, and other files in the Middle East, and opened the door to relations between the two countries,” the sources added.

The Negev Summit, which first met in Israel in March, is a discussion group that aims to promote economic and security cooperation between Israel and its Arab allies.

Iran’s Mehr News Agency confirmed the existence of the meeting in Oman, but it did not specify the issues that were discussed between Cairo and Tehran. Egyptian and Gulf news agencies and newspapers did not report any news about the meeting.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian did say on July 3 that “Egypt is an important country in the Islamic world,” but indicated that there were no direct discussions between the two countries.

3 Uyghurs escape from Thai detention center
[BenarNews] Thai authorities are searching for three Uyghur men who beat feet from an immigration detention center in central Thailand earlier this week, a police investigator said Thursday.

The trio broke out of their cell before dawn on Monday, police Col. Rattapong Tiasud told BenarNews. The runaways used a sharp tool to saw their way through metal bars as they beat feet from the detention center in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, about 320 km (199 miles) south of Bangkok, according to an image that BenarNews obtained from another source.

"We are searching for them, and I’m awaiting reports from the ground. The search is a bit slow because of the public holidays lately," said Rattapong, an investigator at the immigration bureau.

White woman riding NYC MTA bus bashed in head in clash with 3 Black passengers who told her they 'hate white people'
[NYDAILYNEWS] A white woman riding a Queens MTA bus was bashed in the head during a confrontation with three Black passengers who told her they "hate white people," police sources Thursday.

The incident is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force.

The 57-year-old victim was riding a Q53 bus in Woodhaven when she got into an argument with three Black women or girls about 6:50 p.m. Saturday.

As the exchange heated up, one of the women hit the victim over the head with a blunt object, leaving her bleeding from the head, police said.

"I hate white people...the way they talk," the victim recalled her attackers saying, police sources said.

The assailants rushed off the bus at Woodhaven Blvd. and Jamaica Ave.. They ran off and have not been caught.

The victim was treated at Jamaica Hospital, where she needed two staples to close the gash on her head

-Great Cultural Revolution
More Fallout for Democrats From 10-Year-Old Rape Victim Story
[PJMedia] The controversial story of a 10-year-old rape victim who was transported from Ohio to Indiana to procure an child sacrifice abortion has been very clarifying. First reported by pro-child sacrifice abortion leftists around the world, the story was picked up by PJ Media’s Megan Fox, who was the first news hound to ask questions about the sizable gaps in the narrative. Megan’s outstanding research arguably began the pressure campaign that ultimately produced an announcement of the arrest of the illegal alien rapist three weeks after the crime was first referred to police.

Why did the arrest take so long? It’s certainly possible Sherlocks wanted to make sure the case was rock-solid before making an arrest. Or was law enforcement dragging its feet on arresting an illegal alien in a high-profile, barbaric case until the spotlight the pro-aborts had shined on it was focused elsewhere?

But more importantly, the left has just lost another one of its major talking points as the post-Dobbs landscape takes shape: no one will force pregnant children to carry babies to term. Sorry, handmaids: barely-pubescent raped girls will not be experiencing the "forced birth" you’ve all been screeching about.

One of the many fishy aspects of this story is that the victim was transported across state lines to procure an child sacrifice abortion, even though Ohio’s new heartbeat law would have permitted the procedure to take place within the state. The law allows child sacrifice abortion in Ohio when medically necessary: "’Medical necessity’ means a medical condition of a pregnant woman that, in the reasonable judgment of the physician who is attending the woman, so complicates the pregnancy that it necessitates the immediate performance or inducement of an child sacrifice abortion."

This basically rules out forcing any pregnant girl to carry a pregnancy to term. How young is too young to have a baby? This will have to be established, and the medical community will come to a consensus. A momentous change like overturning Roe v. Wade will naturally take some time to sort out. But the tragic Ohio case has just given it a big nudge.

Still another piece of fallout is that Indiana is now investigating the doctor who performed the child sacrifice abortion, Dr. Caitlin Bernard, for failure to report the rape of a minor — something she’s been investigated for before. And not only that, even the mainstream media has been shamed into reporting the investigation. Good: it’s long past time the child sacrifice abortion industry took responsibility for reporting abusers consistently and in accordance with the law.

Was the poor victim unnecessarily transported across state lines for the procedure just so an activist muppet doctor would have a headline? Let’s pray that, for the sake of the child, that’s not the case. Perhaps the Ohio doctors were just overly wary of the newly triggered heartbeat law. But going forward, it’s now clearly established that children don’t need to travel out of states with laws like Ohio’s to terminate pregnancies.

The tragedy of rape and child sacrifice abortion is that the mother did not choose the pregnancy, but that’s also not the baby’s fault. I don’t believe there is a good answer in situations like that. But when you add in the loss of life or health of the mother, then the scales tip further to one sad side than the other. Pro-life absolutism is unlikely to become law in any state.

At any rate, pro-child sacrifice abortion leftists wanted to shine the spotlight on this story, and now they’re getting what they asked for. Good.

#2  Ace of Spades goes more deeply into the tweet in Skidmark’s link, coming up with this:

Jorge Bonilla @BonillaJL
This portion of a broader interview sheds significant light on the familial dynamics of this case, and further vindicates all skepticism over how the story broke and was handled. We don't even get to this point without the critical work of
@MeganFoxWriter and so many others.

This appears to confirm my thesis of a domestic situation wherein the confessed rapist is also the paramour of the victim's mother (other familial relation is possible but less likely). Unfortunately, I saw many such cases while working as a court interpreter.

The mother's distressed defense of the rapist suggests that
a: She is also here illegally and fears deportation
b: The defendant is the family's sole source of income
c: There is a likelihood of other children in the home
d: Mom is exposed to removal of the children under dependency proceedings (failure to protect). Has there been such a filing yet and if not why not?

Other questions: what was the time gap between the initial reporting of the rape and the filing of criminal charges? Why did the referring abortion provider not report the rape to authorities? Was the child forced to live with her rapist in furtherance of an abortion narrative?

Was the child compelled to stay quiet until after news of the abortion was leaked to the media? If so, how so?

Was criminal reporting of the rape of a Latina girl suppressed or delayed in furtherance of a political agenda?

These questions need to be answered ASAP.

Secret Service admits that agency DID delete texts from January 5 and 6 as part of a 'pre-planned, three-month system migration' - but pushes back on Inspector General's claims that it was 'maliciously' erasing evidence
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • The DHS watchdog sent a letter to the Homeland Security committees in the House and the Senate on Wednesday

  • 'Many' text messages between the US Secret Service were deleted after the watchdog made a request for electronic communications, the letter states

  • The Homeland Security Inspector General requested them as part of his office's investigation into the January 6 attack on the US Capitol

  • DHS employees refused to hand over documents until they were reviewed by the department's lawyers, the inspector general's office said

  • House Homeland Security Chair Rep. Bennie Thompson confirmed to DailyMail.com that his committee would be briefed on the matter

  • The Secret Service denied having 'maliciously deleted text messages' in a statement sent to DailyMail.com
“We had only the purest love in our hearts as we did it,” they added piously.

Fauci is once again spouting bad COVID advice
[NYPOST] Controversial ex-COVID czar Anthony Fauci reemerged this week to urge that, because of rising infection rates, we consider a return to comprehensive masking protocols. That’s bad health-care policy, because it doesn’t follow the science. No wonder nobody’s listening to Dr. Fauci.

Let’s face it: public-health messaging and open, honest debate haven’t been the Good Doctor’s strong suits. He’s the wrong man, at the wrong time, with the wrong advice. But the big problem is a misunderstanding of what’s actually going on.

Following large-scale vaccination efforts and the introduction of the various Omicron variants, states and municipalities with more robust masking regulations have not fared better than those with more targeted strategies for reducing the prevalence of serious disease. Even with today’s significantly more infectious COVID-19 strains, the number of serious viral manifestations remain very low — and, in the majority, most of them impact unvaccinated and high-risk individuals.

The information for treating the chi-coof is well established; I think they have doctors in a pinch where if they do or suggest anything they risk their career and possible expose for litigation.

More than 260,000 Troops Not Fully Vaccinated, Many Face Discharge Under Biden Administration Mandate
[Breitbart] At least 260,000 American troops — or about 13 percent of the 2.1 million total force — are not fully vaccinated despite a Biden administration vaccine mandate for the military, and many of them could face discharge.

According to the Department of Defense website, at least 268,858 service members as of July 13 are still not in compliance with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s August 2021 mandate for every member of the military to be fully vaccinated with two doses of a vaccine. That figure does not count the thousands who have not taken any doses.

Only about 20,000 of the more than 260,000 have received a temporary or permanent exemption, according to the latest statistics provided by the services. That means the rest face discharge from the military at a time the services are struggling to find new recruits.

#4  Dishonorable Discharge

Would not likely stand in court challenge. There is enough information out there that will give a court the basis to find that it was not a lawful order. That would over turn all those papers and have to be reissued as general discharges.

Besides, if the Trunk take over Congress in November, they can direct that any and all such discharges be classified as general. It's that or watch a lot of pet project disappear in appropriations, not to mention manpower cuts (to include targeting the number of general officers on active duty). I don't recall a single instance in which a Congresscritter ask for a revised discharge upgrade that wasn't granted. The word at the Puzzle Palace was basically - let the Wookie win.

Now Hillary and Chelsea roll out eight-part docuseries where they will hold 'intimate conversations' with Kim Kardashian and Megan Thee Stallion, after Freida Pinto signs on to play Huma in new TV series
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Reintroducing Hilarity to a new generation.
  • Hillary Clinton posted on Thursday a preview image of her upcoming docuseries with daughter Chelsea Clinton premiering on Apple TV+ on September 9
Will it do as poorly as the things the Obamas and Meghan Markle and her Prince did? I can’t imagine that Apple TV+ is a big market, and after driving away the half that are not interested, how much could there be left?
  • The duo will have 'intimate conversations' with big name stars in the eight-part series based on their work The Book of Gutsy Women

  • Episodes will include talks with reality TV star Kim Kardashian and rapper Megan Thee Stallion and other famous women like Amy Schumer and Kate Hudson

‘Defund the Cartels' ‐ Rep. Mayra Flores Talks Border Crisis in Exclusive Interview
[Breitbart] A newly-elected Texas Congresswoman is calling for the defunding of the Mexican cartels effectively in control of the U.S. southwestern border.

“We need to defund the cartels,” U.S. Congresswoman Mayra Flores said during an exclusive interview in Spanish with Breitbart News, where she talked about how criminal organizations from Mexico are the only ones benefiting from the current border crisis.

Flores made history in June when she became the first Mexican-born female to be elected to the House of Representatives. She flipped Texas Congressional District 34, which was historically a Democrat stronghold.

“Unfortunately, we have a border that is in control of criminal organizations,” Flores said, referring to the operational control along the border by the Gulf Cartel and the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas. Currently, the Gulf Cartel operates one of the most active human and drug trafficking corridors in Flores’s district. “It is a sad reality, but no one can cross the border into this country without having to pay thousands of dollars to criminal organizations.”

The issue which has been largely ignored by most politicians in Washington and helped create a cycle of violence and abuse where women and children suffer unspeakable horrors at the hands of cartel-connected smugglers, she said.

In many cases, victims suffer sexual and physical abuse. In other instances, victims are kidnapped and held for ransom. “It is something that is happening that in reality, it embarrasses me that it is happening in this country because we are better than that,” Flores added.

According to Flores, securing the border and creating a streamlined process for legal immigration would help to defund cartels.

“I believe that we need to secure our border and to help good people come here legally,” she said. “Where there is a safe process also where people can come without having to go through, like I said before, without having to go through hell.”

#2  The cartels are pretty careful about not provoking a US response by plugging ranchers or otherwise creating American martyrs. I think they should be designated as terrorists, but they aren’t on the radar of most Americans. If they kill a beautiful young Congresswoman, there will not be much political will to derail designating them as terrorists. People will be faced with the reality of the number of Americans that they are killing with fentanyl. Only Planned Parenthood and Toni Fauci kill more Americans.

Narco cartel doings are filed under War on Terror here, originally because of the longstanding connections between various cartels in Latin America and various jihadi groups, including Iran’s IRGC.

CNN Don Lemon Republicans must be treated as danger to society by media, cannot be 'coddled'
“Pay attention to MEEEEEE!!” he cries, but it won’t increase his abysmally small market share by so much as a single point.
[FoxNews] Lemon claimed he and other journalists 'are not doing our jobs' if they don't give GOP harsher treatment.
Given your ratings and your new boss, you will likely not have a job to do, Puddinghead
Appearing on CNN's New Day Thursday morning, Don Lemon once again urged the media to hold Republicans to a different standard than Democrats in their media coverage.

The primetime host tied the GOP to the threat of "growing extremism" on the right. He warned journalists to not give a "false equivalence" to both sides, and instead acknowledge Republicans were endangering America.

"We sit around and we talk about these things and we want to give this false equivalence to Democrats and Republicans. That is not where we are right now. Republicans are doing something that is very dangerous to our society and we have to acknowledge that. We have to acknowledge that as Americans, we must acknowledge that as journalists because if we don't, we are not doing our jobs," Lemon declared.

A Pew survey of nearly 12,000 journalists found that a majority of journalists, 55%, reject the idea that both sides "always deserve equal coverage."

Lemon was referring to Republicans who continue to support former President Trump after the January 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol, as well as the recent Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade.

"They have to answer for those questions if they come here on CNN, they must answer for that. If they go on MSNBC, they must answer for that. If they go on ABC, they must answer for that. And they cannot expect to be coddled when they go on to a news organization or if they step in front of a crowd of supporters or voters or Americans."

He made a similar plea in June, saying, "we cannot pretend as journalists" that both sides are "equal."

Majority of Democrats and young voters want to see the Supreme Court abolished, poll finds
[BizPakReview] A majority of Democrat voters say the Supreme Court should be abolished for its racist and misogynistic practices, according to a recent poll commissioned by the Heartland Institute.

In addition, 54 percent of young people aged 19 to 39 concur, regardless of their political association.
In other words, the people least likely to vote, but mostly to have strong opinions about that which they know nothing?
The survey of 1,025 U.S. voters was divided among party lines, with 53 percent of Democrats in favor of abolishing the current Supreme Court and replacing it with a "new, democratically elected . . . court with justices chosen by the American people directly," and 33 percent "strongly" in favor. Only 21 percent of Republicans and 38 percent of independents favored the ill-advised proposition.
We see thereby which portion of the population has absolutely no idea how the Constitution was designed to throw up huge barriers to that kind of thing happening.

#3  A whopping 67 percent of Democrat voters argue the Supreme Court is a “fundamentally sexist institution that favors men over women,” while only 18 percent of Republicans and 36 percent of independents share that opinion.

On the issue of race, 56 percent of Democrats believe the court is “a fundamentally racist institution” compared to only 14 percent of Republicans, 29 percent of independents and 34 percent of total voters.

On the ridiculous posited notion that the United Nations should be allowed to overrule the U.S. Supreme Court if it finds a decision to be violative of human rights, only 47 percent of Democrats opposed the idea, with 39 percent in favor and 11 percent undecided.

Republicans were decidedly against the fantasy proposal of UN oversight at 77 percent with 17 percent in favor of it. Thirty-seven percent of total voters agreed, but young voters aged 19 to 39 were 48 percent in favor, a number that decreased significantly with age. Only 27 percent of those aged 40 to 64 thought UN oversight was a realistic idea, down to nine percent of those aged over 64.

Ukraine continues to block foreign ships in seaports
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The Kiev regime continues to evade solving the problem of foreign ships blocked in the seaports of Ukraine, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev , head of the National Center for Defense Control of the Russian Federation, said at a briefing on July 14 .

Dozens of foreign ships are blocked by minefields and the threat of shelling from the Ukronazis.

“In six ports (Kherson, Nikolaev, Chernomorsk, Ochakov, Odessa and Yuzhny), 70 foreign ships from 16 states remain blocked. The threat of shelling and the high mine danger created by official Kyiv do not allow ships to freely go to the open sea.

... At the same time, there is a danger to navigation and damage to port infrastructure from the drift of Ukrainian mines torn from anchor along the coast of the Black Sea states , ”said Mizintsev.

The Russian side has organized two sea corridors in the Black and Azov Seas for the safe exit of ships.

“The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have created the necessary conditions for the functioning of two maritime humanitarian corridors, which are safe lanes for the movement of ships:

Detailed information on the operation of the maritime humanitarian corridors is transmitted daily every 15 minutes via VHF radio on 14 and 16 international channels in English and Russian, ” the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation specified.

Floating mines found in the Bulgarian Black Sea

[REGNUM] Several munitions that pose a danger to navigation were found in the Black Sea near the village of Kamen-Bryag in the Dobrich region of Bulgaria. This was reported on July 14 by the Sofia information portal News. bg .

According to preliminary data, we are talking about floating mines. The origin of the ammunition is unknown. It is noted that the Bulgarian Navy sent two minesweepers to the region. No other details were provided in the message.

Recall that earlier the Bulgarian authorities warned about the increased risk of ships colliding with Ukrainian mines, regularly carried into the territorial waters of Bulgaria due to hurricanes and storms.

WATCH: Texas Police Apprehend 300 Migrants in Single Group
[Breitbart] Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Troopers and Texas Army National Guard soldiers arrested nearly 300 migrants in a single group on Tuesday. Throughout the day, state authorities arrested more than 400 crossing the Rio Grande locally.

The video shows state authorities escorting migrants from the Rio Grande to a rally point where they are offered water before transport. According to a Texas DPS spokesperson, this was one of two large migrant groups apprehended Tuesday.

The group consisted of mostly single adult males and females although family units with small children were visible. Temperatures in the region have been consistently in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Several migrants are heard asking for water in the footage and others appear to be having trouble walking due to the heat.

The spokesperson told Breitbart Texas the large migrant groups were taken off private property and transported to the Eagle Pass Camino Real Port of Entry, where they would be turned over to Border Patrol. The spokesperson says Mexico will not accept the migrants directly from the Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol troopers as the migrants must first be processed by Border Patrol.

Breitbart Texas observed the migrants staging at the Eagle Pass Camino Real Port of Entry where they awaited transfer to the Border Patrol. Transporting the migrants from points of apprehension to a recognized port of entry along the border is the result of a recent executive order signed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The order is in response to calls from several Texas municipalities urging the Abbott to declare the border crisis an “invasion.”

As reported by Breitbart Texas, the Border Patrol apprehended nearly 500 migrants in one single group earlier on Tuesday.

Wild video shows Florida home invaders running for their lives after resident opens fire

[NYPOST] Pulse-pounding video shows the moment a trio of Florida home invaders frantically reverse course after a resident blasts at them with a gun.

The footage from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office shows the men gathering and chatting in front of the residence on July 7 before one of them opens the door and shoves the homeowner inside.

Two of the suspects barge in while a third can be seen standing guard outside with what appears to be a firearm.

Deputies said the homeowner dropped a gun he was holding while trying to fend off the attack and that the pistol was picked up by one of the intruders.

But the victim managed to scramble to another part of the house where he kept additional firearms and began shooting at his assailants.

Gunfire can be heard exploding on the Ring camera footage, followed by all three invaders scampering out of the home and away from the scene, cops said.

They climbed into a nearby getaway car being driven by a fourth suspect and fled.

Da’Torrance Hackworth, 20, and Antonio Dewayne Dean Jr., 18, were both picked up and now face a slew of raps including home invasion and illegal gun possession.

Joseph Roman Sanders, 18, remains on the lam, and deputies are still trying to identify a fourth suspect.

Sheriff Chip Simmons said the victim will not face any charges for shooting at the men and backed the rights of homeowners to defend themselves in a recent interview on Fox.

"If someone breaks into my front door, barges in and attacks me or my family they are going to get shot," Simmons said. "I afford that same consideration to the residents of my county."

Putin signs law punishing calls against Russian security
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA Novosti] Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a federal law supplementing the Criminal Code with an article on public calls for activities directed against the country's security. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

Thus, criminal liability threatens persons who make public calls for activities directed against the security of Russia , as well as those who prevent the authorities from exercising their powers to ensure this security. The maximum penalty is up to four years in prison.

It will be clarified that the use of one's official position, as well as the media or the Internet, increases the maximum sentence to six years in prison, and when these actions are committed by an organized group of persons, up to seven years.

Thus, the Criminal Code is supplemented with the article "Repeated propaganda or public demonstration of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols, or paraphernalia or symbols of extremist organizations, or other paraphernalia or symbols, the promotion or public display of which is prohibited by federal laws", providing for a maximum penalty of up to four years in prison.

The law also provides for the amendment of the Criminal Code with an article “Violation of the rules for centralized management of technical means to counter threats to the stability, security and integrity of the functioning of the Internet information and telecommunications network and the public communications network on the territory of the Russian Federation”, which provides for a maximum penalty of up to three years in prison.

In addition, the Criminal Code is supplemented by the norm "Violation of requirements for the protection of state secrets", which introduces criminal liability for traveling abroad by a Russian citizen who was admitted or previously had access to state secrets, whose right to travel was obviously limited for him. This provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to three years.

Putin signed a law on reducing fines for participants in foreign trade
Also, illegal movement or transfer of carriers containing state secrets outside Russia is punishable by imprisonment for up to four years.
In the article "Mercenary work" the sanctions are tightened and brought into line with the penalties for crimes similar in nature and degree of public danger.

China-Japan-Koreas
Report: China Is Buying Its Own Cotton to Offset ‘Massive Losses' from U.S. Slavery Ban
[Breitbart] The government of China announced it would make a large purchase of cotton from occupied East Turkistan for its reserves, the South China Morning Post reported on Tuesday – an apparent desperate measure in light of the implementation of an American law banning slave-made products from the region.

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA), which passed Congress last year and took effect on June 21, bans the import of any products from East Turkistan, which China calls “Xinjiang,” to the United States unless the potential importer can prove that no slave labor was involved in the production or manufacture of the imports. The Act became law after years of campaigning by human rights activists in Uyghur groups to try to keep products made by Uyghur slaves off of American store shelves.

China is currently engaging in a genocide campaign against Uyghurs, the native population of East Turkistan, and other Muslim-majority ethnic groups in the region. The Communist Party is executing the genocide in part through the imprisonment of millions of people in concentration camps, where survivors say they endured extreme torture, rape, indoctrination into communism, and slavery, among other crimes. Extensive investigations by journalists and human rights advocates have gathered evidence indicating that significant percentages of Chinese products are now being made by Uyghur slaves and the Communist Party actively complicates the ability of companies to know the origin of what they are buying.

They also accuse the Ukrainian military leadership of neglecting the lives and health of their subordinates, the lack of modern weapons and the cases when their husbands had to go with machine guns alone against tanks and aircraft. #12  Ambassador Melnyk, is that you?

NYTimes on Ukraine's pro-Nazi emissary to Germany, Andriy Melnyk, who in Berlin of all places lavishly praised Ukraine's favorite Nazi, the mass murderer Stepan Bandera who is worshipped in Ukraine to this day:

"in Bandera’s native west, statues are erected in his honor; streets are named after him. Grzegorz Rossolinski-Liebe, a Polish historian in Berlin, said that Ukraine “sooner or later will have to deal with Bandera.”

"Part of the reason Bandera remained so prominent, he said, was that even leading intellectuals refused to reconsider the history. “They don’t really want to open Ukrainian history to the history of the Holocaust, the history of fascism,” he said.

"To many Ukrainians, Mr. Melnyk’s views are uncontroversial: Bandera — who was assassinated in Munich by Soviet agents — is seen as an anti-Soviet freedom fighter who made difficult compromises in the fight for independence. They deny his Nazi collaboration by pointing out that Germany later interned him in a concentration camp over his independence efforts...."

#13  from Spengler at the right-wing American site, PJMedia:

Yes, Ukraine Has a Nazi Problem, And Its Name Is Andriy Melnyk

Germany’s leading center-right newspaper Die Welt posted a banner headline at the top of its page last Friday evening just before Shabbat came in here in New York: “[Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andrej] Melnyk’s statement trivializes the Holocaust.” In a radio interview last week, Melnyk compared Ukrainian Nazi leader Stephan Bandera to Robin Hood and vehemently denied—in the face of massive historical documentation—that Bandera had helped to murder 800,000 Ukrainian Jews during World War II. The Banderites also helped to murder between 40,000 and 100,000 Poles.

Poland’s embassy to Berlin also denounced Melnyk’s statement.

Yet there was barely a peep in the American press—I found a single passing mention in the Washington Post and nothing elsewhere—and not a word from any American Jewish organization.

The incident was a top item in every major German news outlet, but unmentionable in the American media, not to mention polite company. Echo-chamber-driven group-think has achieved a new dimension of control.

Israel’s embassy to Germany had declared: “The statements of the Ukrainian Ambassador are a distortion of the historical facts, a trivialization of the Holocaust and an insult to those who were murdered by Bandera and his people. The statements of the ambassador undermine not only the values that we all treasure, but also undermine the brave fight of the Ukrainian people to live in peace and with democratic values.”

Holocaust denial is sadly endemic, but I can think of not a single instance in the past generation when a senior official of a Western-allied country—let alone one that will receive $70 billion in aid from the United States—openly and unashamedly defended a perpetrator of genocide against Jews. Yet that is what Ukraine’s Ambassador Andrej Melnyk did vehemently and without shame.

#14  Bandera the Nazi is worshipped as a hero in Ukraine. They don't even try to hide it. This is well known in Poland and Germany and across East Central Europe. Only in the USA does anyone try to deny or suppress this obvious well-known fact.

#17  An excellent study by the Berlin-based Polish historian quoted in the New York Times article:

Stepan Bandera: The Life and Afterlife of a Ukrainian Nationalist. Fascism, Genocide, and Cult

Grzegorz Rossoliński-Liebe is a research associate at the Freie Universität Berlin. He studied cultural history at the Viadrina European University and wrote his doctoral dissertation about Stepan Bandera and the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists at the Universität Hamburg. His dissertation is the first comprehensive and scholarly biography of the Ukrainian far-right leader, and the first in-depth study of his political cult. Rossoliński-Liebe was a fellow of the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation, the Jewish Claims Conference, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah, and the German Historical Institute in Warsaw.

Honest question to "badanov": You seem like a well-intentioned, serious person. The discussion is about whether or not Ikraine's nationalists glorify their Nazi last. Obviously, they do-- as evidenced by both Lev Golinkin's article with its dozens of links and impeccable sourcing and Grzegorz Rossoliński-Liebe'a excellent study that I linked to above.

Are you trying to deny, or brush off, the tons of solid evidence about the widespread, fervent cult of Stepan Bandera in today's Ukraine?

Just FYI and all your American traitor friends, not only have Finland and Sweden been added to NATO, Ukraine is going to informally be a part of it.

The current DoD bill added $ 100 million just to train Ukrainian pilots on the US equipment. In a couple of years they'll have every piece of NATO equipment except F 35s.

"Today, the West's ruling elites are raising the degree to which they manipulate the public consciousness right before our eyes. The ruling classes of the Western countries, which are supranational and globalist in nature, realized that their policies are increasingly detached from reality, common sense and the truth, and they have started resorting to openly despotic methods.

The West, which once declared such principles of democracy as freedom of speech, pluralism and respect for dissenting opinions, has now degenerated into the opposite: totalitarianism. This includes censorship, media bans, and the arbitrary treatment of journalists and public figures.

These kinds of prohibitions have been extended not only to the information space, but also to politics, culture, education, and art – to all spheres of public life in the Western countries. And, they are imposing this on the world; they are trying to impose this model, a model of totalitarian liberalism, including the notorious cancel culture of widespread bans.

However, the truth and reality is that the people in most of these countries do not want this life or this future, and really do not want the formal semblance of sovereignty, they want substantive, real sovereignty and are simply tired of kneeling, of humiliating themselves before those who consider themselves exceptional, and of serving their interests even to their own detriment.

#42  We have the Russian perspective and the Ukrainian perspective here, and our readers have the knowledge and experience to make their own judgements.

As for the Russians dying out — which is true — unfortunately at the current birthrate the Ukrainians are dying out as well. And, if the published numbers are true in both countries, at a slightly faster rate even before the current Russian effort to clear the land of Ukrainians. From the CIA World Factbook:

Russia:
median age: 40.3
population growth rate: -0.22% (shrinking, not growing)
total fertility rate: 1.6 children per woman

Ukraine (pre-invasion):
median age: 41.2
population growth rate: -0.5 (shrinking, not growing)
total fertility rate: 1.56 children per woman

In two generations, at the rate both countries are going, both countries will be empty, with nobody left to prevent the dwindling hordes from Africa and Middle East from wandering in. Not that they’ll stay, with no rich country to batten off (and no proper clothes for the bitter winters), but that won’t help the two wonderful peoples who won’t be there to see it.

Incidentally, the Jewish publication, The Forward makes much of its Jewishness, but really they are really boring, plain vanilla Socialists with a gloss of Manhattan — fine if you want to know what’s in the local theaters and art galleries, but otherwise even more parochial than the rest of New York City.

Finally, about David P. Goldman, the polymath who owns the Asia Times and writes columns for both its editorial page and P.J.Media as Spengler: after long writing on the subject in both publications, a decade ago he published How Civilizations Die: (And Why Islam Is Dying Too) . The blurb explains:

Thanks to collapsing birthrates, much of Europe is on a path of willed self-extinction. The untold story is that birthrates in Muslim nations are declining faster than anywhere else — at a rate never before documented. Europe, even in its decline, may have the resources to support an aging population, if at a terrible economic and cultural cost. But in the impoverished Islamic world, an aging population means a civilization on the brink of total collapse — something Islamic terrorists know and fear. Muslim decline poses new threats to America, challenges we cannot even understand, much less face effectively, without a wholly new kind of political analysis that explains how desperate peoples and nations behave. In How Civilizations Die, David P. Goldman, author of the celebrated Spengler column read by intelligence organizations world wide, reveals how, almost unnoticed, massive shifts in global power are remaking our future.

So, gentlemen, if you wish Ukraine to survive, stop fighting on the internet and go make babies with your wives.

The same to the pro-Russia trolls who are doing the same. It will be a terrible thing when all we have of both your peoples is some YouTube videos of folk dancers, some math formulae, and a few translated books in our libraries because nobody remembers the original languages.

#46  Back on topic, Zelensky was never aligned with Ukraine's far right while running for office. He shifted hard right when it became clear that without far-right support he would have no power whatsoever.

After Biden came back into the White House the return of the Nuland-Sullivan cabal pushed Zelensky into a far more provocative and reactionary position beginning in March 2021.

#52  The ruling classes of the Western countries, which are supranational and globalist in nature, realized that their policies are increasingly detached from reality, common sense and the truth, and they have started resorting to openly despotic methods.

The West, which once declared such principles of democracy as freedom of speech, pluralism and respect for dissenting opinions, has now degenerated into the opposite: totalitarianism. This includes censorship, media bans, and the arbitrary treatment of journalists and public figures.

I know who this is: V.V.P.
Putin!

That may be what you are interested in discussing. We find the entire point overly Scholastic and unimportant. As it happens, the exact same could be said about Russia, with equal justification, so mentioning it at all, let alone going on about it for endless comments, is utterly, utterly boring.

And as others have said, counterproductive.

Instead of wasting your time being ineffective here, you should go home and make some babies with your wife so that the Russian people does not die out completely in the next two generations, leaving only the emigrants — primarily Russian Jews, as it happens — to carry on your culture.

Mali to suspend all new UN peacekeeping rotations
[AlAhram] Mali said Thursday it was suspending rotations of the UN's peacekeeping mission for "national security" reasons, in the latest complication in ties between the ruling junta and international partners.

Rotations of the MINUSMA mission are being suspended, including those that have already been scheduled, the foreign ministry in Bamako said.

The suspension will last until a meeting is held to "facilitate the coordination and regulation" of the rotation of contingents, it said in a statement.

The announcement did not expound on the reasons for the move.

But it came four days after Mali arrested 49 Ivorian soldiers it later described as "mercenaries" intent on toppling the country's military-led government.

Ivory Coast says the soldiers are so-called National Support Elements (NSE) -- a UN procedure allowing peacekeeping contingents to use outside contractors for logistical duties.

The soldiers, who were arrested after arriving at Bamako airport aboard a special flight, comprised the eighth rotation under this scheme, according to Ivory Coast.

Mali's statement on Thursday did not refer to the Ivorians' arrest, nor did it give a date for talks to discuss MINUSMA rotations.

But it assured the UN mission that Mali would "work diligently to create conditions conducive to the lifting of this suspension of rotation, which is an essential step in enabling the deployed contingents to ensure the proper implementation of MINUSMA's mandate."

UN MISSION
MINUSMA -- the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali -- was launched in 2013 to help one of the world's poorest countries cope with a bloody jihadist campaign.

It is one of the UN's biggest peacekeeping operations, with around 12,200 soldiers and 1,700 police sent by some 50 countries.

Its mandate was renewed for one year on June 29, despite Mali's "firmly opposing" requests to allow freedom of movement for human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
Sherlocks with the mission.

On July 7, MINUSMA head El-Ghassim Wane told a news conference that the mission needed the "support and cooperation of the Malian authorities", calling for "constant dialogue" to overcome "misunderstandings".

In mid-January, Mali suspended MINUSMA air operations for several days following what it said was a reorganization of the process for approving flights over conflict zones.

The suspension was lifted after "fruitful discussions", authorities said.

MINUSMA operates regular flights between Mali and neighbouring countries for supply missions and to evacuate maimed fighters.

FRENCH PULLOUT
Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his shoulder. Ow! he exclaimed, with feeling......
La Belle France's Barkhane anti-jihadist mission is expected to complete its pullout from Mali in the coming weeks after relations between Gay Paree and Bamako are foundered.

The junta has brought in Russians that it says are military advisers but which La Belle France says are paramilitaries of the controversial Wagner group.

In April, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said around 300 civilians had been massacred in central Mali the previous month by Malian forces and suspected Russian fighters.

Mali's military regime also spent the first half of 2022 under economic sanctions by its West African neighbours over its failure to respect its timetable for restoring civilian rule.

Mali underwent coups in August 2020 and May 2021, creating a political crisis that coincides with an ongoing security crisis.

Jihadists joined a regional insurgency in northern Mali in 2012 and then extended their campaign to the centre of the country and neighbouring Burkina Faso

and Niger.

Thousands of civilians have died, more than two million have fled their homes, and economic damage to countries that are among the poorest in the world has been severe.

Yasin Malik seeks physical appearance in court

Chief of banned JKLF Yasin Malik
...chairman of one of the two factions of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. JKLF is a Kashmiri nationalist organization founded in Birmingham, UK in 1977. Branches weren't actually established in Kashmir for another ten years. It has the usual demands for separation of J&K from secular India so it can become an independent Islamic rathole. It seems to have no interest in Pak Kashmir breaking away to join it. In 1994 Malik renounced violence after he was released from jail and from that point he and his organization pursued peaceful means to impose their will on the region...
on Wednesday requested a special court here for physical appearance in a case related to the kidnapping of former chief minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed’s daughter Rubaiya, failing which he would sit on an indefinite hunger strike, officials said.

They said that Malik, who is undergoing a life sentence in a terror-funding case, appeared before the court through video conference.

Malik said he has written to the government for a physical appearance before the court.

He also informed the court that he has requested for cross examination of witnesses himself and said he would sit on hunger strike if his request was not accepted by the government.

The case pertains to the kidnapping of Rubaiya Sayeed on December 8, 1989. She was freed from captivity five days later on December 13 after the then V P Singh government, supported by the BJP at the Centre, released five Death Eaters from the Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Liberation Front (JKLF) in exchange.

The case had gone into virtual cold storage and was revived after Malik was picked up by the National Investigation Agency in 2019 on charges of terror funding.

In January last year, the CBI, with help from special public prosecutors Monika Kohli and S K Bhat, framed charges against 10 people, including Malik, in the Rubaiya kidnapping case that turned out to be a turning point in the Valley’s volatile history.

Iraq
Kurdish security council says it killed four ISIS fighters responsible for deadly attack on Peshmerga
[Rudaw] Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) said late Thursday that its forces, in coordination with the global coalition against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) and Iraqi forces, killed four members of the group who were allegedly behind the deadly attack against Peshmerga forces in Erbil province late last year.

ISIS attacked Peshmerga forces in Liheban and Khidirjija villages in Qarachogh area in Makhmour district late December 2. Ten Peshmerga fighters as well as three civilians, all brothers, were killed as a result. The youngest of the brothers was 11 years old. The incident was locally and internationally condemned.

ISIS had grabbed credit for the attack, adding that all the dead were members of Peshmerga forces.

The KRSC said in a video late Thursday that its forces killed four ISIS fighters who took part in the deadly attack in December, identifying two of them.

"Following detailed investigation and based on intelligence, the hideouts of the bandidos forces of Evil were identified which were located in areas under the federal government’s control. On the evening of July 5, 2022, in coordination with the coalition forces and the Iraqi forces, we were able to target Hachim Mohammed Rasheed Rabi’ al-Ashaqi and three other fellow bandidos forces of Evil and give them the right punishment," it said, adding that Ashaqi was the head of ISIS fighters in Qarachogh.

The Kurdish security council identified one of the dear departed ISIS fighters as Salih Mahmoud Atiya al-Jabouri who it said was the head of ISIS checkpoints on Mount Qarachogh.

The KRSC also arrested a Kurdish taxi driver who confessed to have aided the dear departed ISIS fighters by selling them essentials like rice, sugar and communication means.

Kazim Ismael, one of the brothers of the killed villagers, told Rudaw at the time that ISIS fighters surrounded their house. "We fought with all the strength we had, we resisted but unfortunately they were martyred."

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani visited the house of the Kurdish family hours after the incident. "Some steps have been taken to form two joint brigades to fill the [security] gap that is being talked about, but the necessary practical steps have not been taken until now," he said.

Science & Technology
How much of a gamechanger is Russia's new potential space laser for US, Israel?
[Jpost] An open-source investigation published last week by The Space Review found that Russia is developing a new laser system in the Greater Caucasus mountain range that will disable foreign satellites.

US satellites have been under attack by Russia and China since at least 2021 – and they are now going to potentially be even under a greater threat of severe attacks as Moscow develops a new satellite disrupting weapon.

TIPPING THE SCALES
Will the latest development tip the scales against the US, and indirectly Israel, in a way that could alter the playing field in space wars – with significant impacts also regarding military power and surveillance capabilities on Earth itself?

In November 2021, NASA put an International Space Station spacewalk on hold that had been planned, citing a “debris notification” that could put crew members at risk.

Though the specific source of the potential hazard was not disclosed, the decision came within weeks of a Russian anti-satellite weapon test that created a cloud of shrapnel in Earth's lower orbit.

Unlike that anti-satellite weapon, the latest Russian weapon is being presented as more of a blinding and disabling one, suppressing electro-optical systems of satellites using solid-state lasers.

In some ways, this is a relief, as weapons that disable and blind do not leave shrapnel in their wake, which can create substantial future risks to anything and anyone in Earth’s orbit for an indefinite period of time.

However, the latest weapon may also be cheaper and easier to activate, and may especially allow Russia to blind American intelligence, and possibly even Israeli intelligence, in crucial arenas.

For decades, US superiority with satellite intelligence has facilitated Washington projecting power across the globe and giving it distinct advantages.

These advantages have often accrued also to Israel, whether it was tracing the Karine A mega weapons boat in 2001 which was beyond Jerusalem’s surveillance capabilities, or more recent tracking, early warning and sharing of intelligence by the US with Israel to assist with national defense.

If Russia blinds America, Israel will also become a little bit more blind.

Of course, the Jewish state has far more of its own satellite surveillance today than it did in 2001, but it still does not come anywhere near what the US can do.

Moreover, relations between Israel and Russia are tenser now than they have been in more than a decade because of the situation in Ukraine.

How does it work? The beacon is thrown next to a military facility. The beacon is capable of emitting an infrared signal for several days.

The IR radiation from the LED fixes the drone. An industrial operational-tactical military drone takes a target from a distance of at least one kilometer. Then the signal goes to the MLRS. The transfer time is seconds. Next comes the blow.

ISIS executes Syrian woman in al-Hol camp: Monitor
[Rudaw] A Syrian woman was allegedly killed in the notorious al-Hol camp on Wednesday by members of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS), reported a monitor, days after her husband was also found dead inside the camp.

The ISIS members shot the woman in the head in "broad daylight," alleging that she had been dealing with the internal security forces (Asayish), according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The identity of the victim was not revealed, but she is reported to be originally from Aleppo, and the wife of the man who was also killed in the camp earlier this week.

The body of a displaced Syrian citizen from Deir ez-Zor was found in al-Hol’s third section on Saturday, after his throat was slit using a sharp object.

The SOHR added that following the killing of the woman, the bully boyz uttered shouts vowing to kill whoever "cooperates" with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) or the international organizations working inside the camp.

The recent murder raises the toll of the people killed in al-Hol to at least 26 since the start of 2022, eleven of which have been Syrian nationals.

Thousands of ISIS fighters were arrested by the SDF, after the forces overran their last stronghold in March 2019. A large number of the bully boyz and their families were taken to al-Hol camp, which currently houses around 56,000 people.

Al-Hol has been labeled a "ticking time bomb" by Kurdish and Iraqi authorities, as ISIS sleeper cells continue to carry out operations inside the camp on a regular basis.

In the latest edition of its propaganda magazine, ISIS claimed to have conducted 10 attacks in Syria from June 30 to July 6, killing and injuring 16 people.

#1  Old testament method was so scientific, so exact and logical.

Kill 'em all, small and big. Leave not even the old and withered alive. Do not care for them, or give them water to drink, like some kind of pansies. Do not distribute crayons to kiddies in camps. Do not patch them up or pick out girlies you'd like to 'liberate with your strong arms'. Just annihilate and move on. Sing a Psalm once you're done and we'll be a-okay, son.

#2  That method did not take into account Yezida slaves, captured en masse because they’re kaffir, the girls and women sold into concubinage, the boys to be brainwashed and aimed as jihadis against their relatives back home.

I have no problem making choosing jihad an immediately capitol crime, though — after whatever questioning seems useful.

#2  Someone is getting some good intel.

What this presents is a problem. Russians have had generals (acting like colonels) near or in the front lines because they have to personally direct operations. However, if they are within HIMARS range, then they become priority targets. That means moving back which then relies upon subordinates to carry out the operation. However, the generals are up there because they don't have reliable subordinates (who are doing captains work anyways). Someone is targeting the sociological weakness of the Russian system.

#4  So, the Russians conclude that to kill NATO generals they have to attack Brussels? The Pentagon?

Valid strategy. That is why in war they are the most heavily defended with SAMs and air cover and anti-missile systems.

Rather deep targets from front lines. Usually those missiles are also nuke capable. Want to wait to find out?

#8  HIMARS are high value targets. There appears to be an ELINT signature or leak enabling targeting. Presumably the Russians could emulate that pattern and effectively ambush the HIMARS with counterbattery fire or loitering drones creating an ambush after they salvo. Wouldn’t have to destroy it simply disable it long enough for follow on strikes to take them out. Believe there are only eight currently operating. Curious that they haven’t been more aggressively targeted

#12  How effective were we in locating SCUD launchers in the Gulf War with air supremacy?

Piss poor, even with near 50% of strike aircraft dedicated to finding towards the end of the air campaign.

Cloluck Bourbon1058 has hit on the question that most people ask. HIMARS are very hard to hit because they don't stay in one location more than 5 minutes and that is to fire. The Ukrainians use them at night as they know the Russians have shit to none for night vision, can't fly drones deep into the Ukraine as they get shot down as fast as they send them (see Putie-pie begging Iran for drones) and the Russians can't get air superiority. Combine all that with a huge lack of technological solutions like counter battery radar and they will only be able to take out a HIMAR if they are very lucky.

So far the Ukrainians are showing they understand hit and fade tactics very well and they are very effective against a slow, lumbering and untrained military like the Russian army.
Posted by: DarthVader || 07/15/2022 10:44 Comments || Top||

#13  HIMARS mobility aside, Class V (ammunition) is the weakness, and the danger for unexpected consequences. The Russians have got to have (perhaps with PLA help) good orbital tracking of the resupply routes and points of entry into Ukraine from NATO. Interdiction at the point of entry/transshipment would seem to be within cruise missile/IRBM range for convention strikes if momentary air superiority is unlikely.
Circular probability of error/ poor vodka maintenance might result in a NATO country strike in error(intentional or not). Poof, escalation dance begins and somebody says tac-nuke. To Quote Admiral from Hunt for Red October:

#15  Circular probability of error/ poor vodka maintenance might result in a NATO country strike in error

The ability to determine a strike near the border or across the border is nil. The Russians know that. Those NATO countries on the 'frontline' most likely have an air defense zone that starts at the border to that distance inside of the Ukraine their systems will reach. Not the the Ukrainians would object to a no-go zone in that case. AWAC can detect launch and direction from way into country and vector the appropriate ADA asset.

Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana Trump dead at 73, former president announces
Was she pushed?
[FoxNews] Former President Trump's ex-wife Ivana Trump has died at age 73 after being found at her New York City apartment unconscious and near the bottom of a staircase.

"I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!," Trump said in a Truth Social post.

A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department told Fox News that police responded to a 911 call on Thursday and found the 73-year-old unconscious.

An NYPD spokesperson told Fox News Digital there is no criminality suspected and police are staging outside her Upper East Side home for security purposes.

Partners in love and business — with her playing roles such as manager of one of his Atlantic City casinos — Ivana and Donald were fixtures of New York's see-and-be-seen scene before their high-profile divorce. At the time, Donald Trump had met his next wife, Marla Maples.

The split was acrimonious, but Ivana ultimately remained friendly with her ex-husband, whom she famously called "The Donald." She enthusiastically backed his 2016 White House run and told the New York Post in 2016 that she was both a supporter and an adviser.

Nigerian Air Force Bombs Bandits' Camp Of Niger Republic Kingpin, Shrige

A fighter aircraft of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has bombed the enclave of a notorious armed Niger Republic bandit, Maliki Shrige, at South Jaja community in the Zurmi local government area of Zamfara State.

According to PRNigeria, the military Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s also eliminated scores of his armed fighters while fleeing in surrounding communities.

Shrige, a wanted bandit kingpin, and his cohorts met their waterloo after actionable provided their precise locations before the precision airstrikes.

He is said to be the arrowhead of the terrorist group launching attacks on bordering communities in Zamfara and Katsina states.

A military intelligence operative disclosed that Shrige, a notorious terrorist from the Niger Republic, alongside his foot soldiers had in February this year migrated northward to South Jaja where they had established new hideouts, as well as staging areas from where they launched attacks on adjoining villages and towns.

This followed the extermination of scores of terrorists, as well as total decimation of their logistics and hideouts at Doumborou Forest in Zamfara, following airstrikes executed by NAF jets on February 17, 2022.

According to the source, reports from locals at Shimfida also revealed the miscreants had been launching several attacks and ambushes on their own troops' locations in the Zamfara community.

"Consequently, surveillance aircraft were deployed to unravel the modus operandi of the depraved turbans around the general area. Footages revealed significant terrorists' activities were moving in and out of multiple huts with mounted solar panels.

"Furthermore, the footage showed armed turbans moving on cycle of violences along multiple tracks leading into the huts within the areas of interest.

"The footage corroborates valid Intel from locals and own deployments around the location that the huts are strategic points from where the miscreants launch most attacks on villages, communities and towns in ZAMFARA and KATSINA states.

"Accordingly, on the 13 July 2022, the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji dispatched a formation of fighter jets armed with rockets and bombs in an Air Interdiction mission at intervals to eliminate and infuse maximum casualty on the turbans as well as destroy their enclaves.

"After confirming the target location to be active with scores of turbans and large herds of rustled cattle within the huts, the information was relayed to the fighter jets for the extermination of the targets.

"Accordingly, the fighter jet armed with bombs was established overhead the target area and vectored to the target location. On arrival, scores of turbans were spotted within the huts and multiple cycle of violences are also seen moving into the huts. Consequently, the location was decisively engaged with bombs.

"Reports from the locals and own deployments at locations around SHIMFIDA substantiated that terrorist kingpin MALIKI SHRIGE and his cohorts suffered maximum casualties as about 45 turbans were neutralised with their logistics demolished during the Air Interdiction," he said.

Caribbean-Latin America
My Socialist Hell: Venezuela's Mass Wiretapping Campaign to Silence Dissent
A taste:
[Breitbart] Jesús Faría, Venezuelan socialist party lawmaker, admitted on July 5 — Venezuela’s Independence Day — that the Maduro regime actively engages in internet censorship by brazenly reminding Venezuelans, “you can’t say whatever you like.”

These statements, coupled with evidence of mass communications wiretapping happening in Venezuela, serve as a reminder that no one is safe to freely speak here and that expressing dissent against the regime and its authorities can come with a huge price.

At the head of the socialist regime’s censorship and privacy-breaching framework is the National Commission of Telecommunications (Conatel), the entity that regulates all telecommunications in the country, be it phone, internet, and media.

Conatel has blocked access to dozens of dissenting websites, has forced local TV channels into self-censorship, has penalized political satire, neutered newspapers, closed more than 190 radio stations and taken shows off air, and has ordered private phone carriers to engage in mass surveillance and wiretapping of phone communications to curb dissent.

MASS-SCALE PHONE SURVEILLANCE
Having lived two thirds of my life under chavismo and lived through the rise of Hugo Chávez’s “Bolivarian Revolution,” I witnessed the constant presence of an unproven fear among friends and family most often expressed with the phrase, “you cannot say that over the phone.” It was a reference to the regime’s alleged — but always unconfirmed — wiretapping of phone conversations.

At first, in the first half of the 2000s, I remember it being a sort of playful urban legend — but with time, and, as the Socialist Party cemented its grip on Venezuela, what was once a myth became a reality with proven evidence.

Hispanic Journalists Drag Jill Biden for Comparing Them to 'Breakfast Tacos'
Can’t blame them — it’s not only rude but nonsensical.
[REDSTATE] No, that headline isn’t satire. Jill Biden did actually compare Hispanics to "breakfast tacos" on Monday while speaking in San Antonio. She also apparently can’t pronounce the word "bodega," instead going with "bo-gah-da." Was she trying to cop a faux-Spanish pronunciation to up her street cred? The First Lady has a history of such, including her infamous "si-se-podway" gaffe during the 2020 campaign.
"I ain't no ways tahrrred. I've come tooo farrr" Oh wait, that was Hillary "Ms. Authentic" Rodham
As RedState reported, these latest flubs came during something called a "LatinX IncluXion" conference, which can be translated to "Democrats want to lose Hispanic voters." And while the right has had a good time with the "breakfast tacos" comment, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists didn’t find it funny at all.

They released a statement dragging Jill Biden and her speech writers for coming up with such a line.

I’m honestly surprised the NAHJ put this statement out. You’d expect most of them to be Democrats given nearly everyone in the press is a Democrat, and no one on the left is handled with kid gloves more than Jill Biden. But this was a bridge too far, I guess, or maybe the shift among the Hispanic electorate is reaching the journalism ranks as well? You’ve got to love the snark about "Dr. Biden and her speech writing team" needing to "take the time in the future to better understand" Hispanic cultures.

Still, I’m left wondering how this happened? As someone who has traveled to many Central and South American countries, I can assure you that, much to my disappointment, they don’t all eat tacos. You would expect the First Lady and her staff to know that, keeping things simple in her remarks. After all, what is there to gain with such stupid pandering? Yet, for reasons completely unknown, Jill Biden went with the "breakfast tacos" line anyway.

The broader red flag here for Democrats, though, is just how screwed they are with Hispanics. The fact that the First Lady even appeared at an event that included the made-up, ridiculous word "Latinx" was a huge misstep. Democrats need to be seeking a return to normality with Hispanic voters, not leaning into leftwing insanity that alienates them. Yet, here’s Jill Biden talking about "Latinx" and "breakfast tacos." If she was actually trying to make Hispanics recoil in horror, what would she be doing differently?

This is a prime example of how hubris in politics can be destructive. Democrats, having previously convinced themselves that Hispanics would be part of their permanent majority, simply refuse to believe that things have changed. And instead of shifting their messaging, they keep going full-bore into a brick wall of woke-ism. Don’t get me wrong, as a Republican, I’m happy to watch the meltdown, but as a political observer, it makes me wince.

#1  Some of the political advisors and speech writers for Joe, Jill and Kamala are about as helpful to their cause as Michael Vick’s posse. It’s as if Kamala has hired Bevis and Butthead to craft her messaging. She was always unlikable and stupid, but she competently knifed several other candidates in the Dem debates. Who penned the breakfast food analogy? Was that person aiming for some Taco Bell ads? A person can be stupid, but there ought to be at least one non-insane handler in the chain to voice a doubt about whether the taco quip would offend people. Maybe there was some push back. Maybe somebody talked Jill out of wearing a sombrero during the speech and decided to let her go with the lesser of two evils. Every day Hunter’s assertion that he is calling the shots becomes more believable.

#5  In James Ellroy's LA crime novels, which are unashamedly accurate in their depiction of racism in the 40's, 50's and 60's, "taco benders" riding in "taco wagons" were some of the milder sobriquets.

Government Corruption
Ex-Stonecrest mayor gets 57 months in COVID fund fraud case
[AJC] Jason Lary, founding mayor of Stonecrest, will serve nearly five years in prison for pocketing COVID-19 relief money meant for the businesses, churches and people of the city he helped create.

Lary was also ordered to pay nearly $120,000 in restitution.

The former mayor will not report to prison until at least Dec. 15, an allowance made so he can continue treatment for his ongoing battle with prostate cancer and a more recent diagnosis of lymphedema.

"What he did was deplorable. Absolutely deplorable," United States District Court Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr. said. "At the time of the greatest medical and economic catastrophe in generations, Mr. Lary, instead of being the honest and respectable mayor that he was elected to be ... used that as an opportunity to steal."

Europe
Sweden convicts former Iranian official over prison executions
[DW] The court handed down a life sentence to former Iranian prison official Hamid Nouri after he was accused of taking part in the mass killings of dissidents in 1988.

A Swedish court on Thursday sentenced a former Iranian official to life in prison for participating in the 1988 mass killings of nabbed
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
dissidents.

Hamid Nouri was convicted for war crimes and crimes against humanity over his role in the killing of at least 5,000 prisoners across Iran, alleged to have been ordered by Ayatollah Khomeini.

Thursday's verdict followed court proceedings that have been running since August 2021.

FIRST TRIAL OF IRANIAN FOR PRISON PURGE
Nouri was arrested at a Stockholm airport in 2019 after Iranian dissidents in Sweden filed police complaints against him.

The proceedings marked the first time an Iranian prison official has gone on trial for the 1988 purge of prisoners.

The executions were Dire Revenge for attacks carried out by exiled dissident group the People's Mujahedin of Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
(MEK) towards the end of the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-88.

Nouri argued that he was on leave during the period when the killings took place and said he worked in another prison.

Nouri told the court on the last day of hearings on May 4 that he hoped "these hands will be cleared... with the help of God."

Several witnesses, however, testified that they recognized Nouri as being present during the executions.

IRAN PROTESTS
According to Iranian media, Tehran summoned the Swedish charge d'affaires and handed him a note of protest.

"Iran is absolutely certain that Noury's sentence was politically motivated and it has no legal validity," Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said in a statement.

The trial has soured ties between Sweden and Iran and has led to worries about reprisals against Western prisoners held by the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

Swedish law allows courts to try Swedish citizens and other nationals for crimes against international law committed abroad.

China-Japan-Koreas
China Urges World to Disregard Protesters Storming Banks for Cash
[Breitbart] China’s state-run Global Times claimed on Tuesday that Western media was unnecessarily “hyping” protests by roughly 1,000 people in Zhengzhou, China, on Sunday in which participants demanded several rural banks release millions of dollars of deposits after unceremoniously freezing them in April, ignoring the fact that Chinese security personnel physically abused and injured several demonstrators during the rally.

The Chinese Communist Party-controlled newspaper’s editors the following on July 12:

Chinese experts on Tuesday refuted recent Western media hype over problems with four rural banks in Central China’s Henan Province that have sparked widespread attention as well as swift regulatory actions, noting that the cases are “isolated” and do not represent any nationwide systemic risk and China has the capability to prevent major financial risks after years of efforts to set up a multiple-layered financial risk aversion mechanism.

#2  I have been told there is a bank run in California. I have seen nothing reported as yet. I can imagine why it would not be reported. Source is a local bank. I will say no more as that would cause problems for who knows who. Culprit seems to be Iran not Russia. EMP attack. So idea is get your money; as if it is EMP attack, how long would you go without money. I believe the election this year will be very interesting.

Largest Stolen Valor Fraud in US History
The fella doing this presentation is seriously funneh
He is. Sarah Cavanaugh is a very naughty girl.

The New York Post adds:
Cavanaugh, of East Greenwich, is charged with wire fraud, identity theft, forging a military discharge certificate and fraudulent use of military medals. She faces a maximum of 24 years in prison, but as part of the plea agreement prosecutors will recommend a lighter sentence on the low end of sentencing guidelines.

The judge is not bound by the recommendation.
