Today's: "Oh, that Joe. God love him"
[Wash Examiner] Joe Biden grew visibly irritated when asked whether he would take a cognitive test such as President Trump did.
"No, I haven't taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?" Biden said in a Tuesday interview. "C'mon, man."
Biden was asked a similar question last week, during which the former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee dodged the question by saying that he is constantly tested when he is on the campaign trail In his basement and with softball questions
This time, Biden compared the aim of question from the interviewer, who is black, to being asked to take a drug test.
"That's like saying you, before you got in this program, 'Will you take a test, were you taking cocaine or not?' What do you think, huh? Are you a junkie?'"
The full Tuesday interview will be aired Thursday at the combined convention of the National Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
Trump and his campaign is targeting Biden's cognitive ability as a campaign tactic, often pointing out when he stumbles over words and misspeaks.

Two signs of old age dementia are crankiness and lashing out. Biden is exhibiting both of them bigly.
#4
Also paranoia and memory loss (obviously). And I believe we've seen both of those in how he handles his few interviews. Memory loss for over a year now.

[JPost] Hezbollah also sought to import ammonium nitrate via Syria through influence in Lebanon’s agriculture ministry
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah threatened in the past to destroy Israel by causing a massive explosion in the port of Haifa using ammonia tanks that he said would be like a "nuclear" explosion. In addition Hezbollah allegedly sought to acquire ammonium nitrate via Syria since 2009 and tried to infiltrate the agriculture ministry in Lebanon to do so, according to leaked diplomatic cables.
The archival footage has been circulating in the wake of the massive explosion in Lebanon that killed more than 100 and injured 4,000 and has left hundreds missing. It illustrates Hezbollah’s terrorist strategy of targeting civilians for mass murder, despite the organization’s claim that it is "resisting" Israel by defending Lebanon.
A source quoted in a cache of leaked diplomatic cables and other reports noted that Hezbollah's supply of some explosive material had been cut off over the last decade. Hezbollah also allegedly sought to get the ammonium nitrate via Syria, bringing in thousands of tons of it from Homs. Hezbollah sought to dominate the agriculture ministry in Lebanon since 2009 to get a hold of the material.
In February 16, 2016 Nasrallah also said that ammonia is stored in Haifa and that there are 15,000 tonnes of gas Haifa and that explosions there might cause the deaths of tens of thousands of people. "the expert added that this is exactly like a nuclear bomb. In other words Lebanon has a nuclear bomb. This is not an exaggeration." Nasrallah laughs as he says this in the video, noting that Hezbollah refrained from striking the ammonia in the 2006 war.
Nasrallah told his audience that with several missiles his terror group could set off the ammonia with the same impact of a nuclear weapon. He said he had consulted experts and that 800,000 people would be affects and tens of thousands killed. In February 2017 he made another speech mentioning ammonia stored in Haifa. On Al-Mayadeen TV he said that a decision was made ‘several days ago that the ammonia storage tanks must be emptied." He claimed it was because the "resistance" had talked about the storage tanks.

Fascinating. It appears Allah did not approve of his little idea.
[NYPost] WNBA players on the Atlanta Dream squad, which is co-owned by Sen. Kelly Loeffler, showed up to their Tuesday game wearing t-shirts promoting the Georgia lawmaker’s Democratic challenger.
The statement against Loeffler, who is unpopular among many WNBA players for her opposition to the Black Lives Matter movement and the league’s affiliation with it, was captured on camera and posted to social media. but not seen by WNBA or Women's basketball actual fans, because...there aren't any
Members of the Dream’s Tuesday opponent, the Phoenix Mercury, even joined in — with players on both sides entering the arena wearing shirts emblazoned with "Vote Warnock" and "Black Lives Matter."
Elizabeth Williams, a center for the Dream, earlier Tuesday posted a photo of herself to Twitter donning the "Vote Warnock" shirt, a nod to Loeffler’s opponent, Raphael Warnock.
Loeffler, who has been part of Dream ownership since 2011, slammed the move and said she was being targeted by the cancel culture.
"This is just more proof that the out of control cancel culture wants to shut out anyone who disagrees with them," the lawmaker wrote. "It’s clear that the league is more concerned with playing politics than basketball."
Last month, the WNBA Players’ Association union called on league commissioner Cathy Engelbert to remove Loeffler as co-owner of the Atlanta Dream over the lawmaker’s stance on Black Lives Matter.
The association cited their opposition to Loeffler’s request to use American flags on warmup jerseys instead of the league’s plan to have "Black Lives Matter" on them.
In Tuesday’s statement, Loeffler said she stood by her views.
The lawmaker said she disagreed with the cause over what she called "its radical ideas and Marxist foundations, which include defunding the police and eroding the nuclear family."

Just a guess but the investment made by Loeffler in the WNBA franchise smacks of virtue signaling, where the Republican businesswoman/politician makes the effort to support women's sports - albeit one with few followers and even less revenue. And no one appreciates it much less watches it.

Loeffler must really not know what to do with her (her hubby's) loot if she is involved with the nest of kurvas known as the WNBA. Or, she is woefully naïve.
Connected to today’s report about Mr. Kolomoisky’s gift to political spouse Robert Powell?
Cleveland.com reported yesterday:
FBI and IRS agents Tuesday seized box loads of evidence that could determine whether the Ukrainian oligarch, Igor Kolomoisky, laundered millions of dollars through Cleveland real estate.
A long-running investigation into Kolomoisky went public for the first time when agents searched the offices of Optima Management Group in One Cleveland Center at East 9th Street and St. Clair Avenue. Agents in Miami also searched a business there involving the company.
The Cleveland publisher continued:
The lawsuit in Delaware alleges that Kolomoisky and others formed PrivatBank in the early 1990s. The government took control of it in 2016 after authorities suspected large-scale fraud, according to the lawsuit and published reports.
From 2006 through 2016, Kolomoisky and others "used PrivatBank as their own personal piggy bank — ultimately stealing billions of dollars from PrivatBank and using United States entities to launder hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of PrivatBank’s misappropriated loan proceeds," according to the lawsuit.
At this time we don't know what will become of this. We know for example that the Atlantic Council is critical of PrivatBank, as noted in the Cleveland article, but the Atlantic Council has ties to Adam Schiff's corrupt impeachment and George Soros. We also know Burisma is paid Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, thousands each month while Joe BidEN's VP under Obama.
We asked last year where are the billions of dollars that went missing in the Ukraine? What do Obama, Biden and Kerry and their children know about where the money is and are they connected? Maybe we're a step closer to finding out.

The Atlantic Council is complicit and part of the swamp. Show me a Republican with ties to the AC and I will show you a Never Trumper. Show me a Democrat with ties to the AC and I will present to you a Globalist.
The Atlantic Council received hush money and payouts from Burisma (look it up and then ask why). Kolomoisky/Burisma/PrivateBank are almost synonyms and it is not an exaggeration to say that AC took money that was looted from Ukraine.

The FBI’s primary job should be investigating politicians for things like this. In addition, they should be used like Elliot Ness. Our big cities are like Mexico, the politicians allow crooks and terrorists to do whatever they like as long as they do not terrorize the well to do. NYC?
[NYPOST] Lebanese rescue workers dug through rubble looking for survivors of a powerful warehouse explosion that shook the capital Beirut, killing 100 people and injuring nearly 4,000 in a toll that officials expected to rise.Tuesday’s blast at port warehouses storing highly kaboom was the most powerful in years in Beirut, already reeling from an economic crisis and a surge in coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... infections.
President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah... said that 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, used in fertilizers and bombs, had been stored for six years at the port without safety measures, and he said that was "unacceptable."
He called for an emergency cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
Officials did not say what caused the blaze that set off the blast. A security source and media said it was started by welding work being carried out on a hole in the warehouse.
"It’s like a war zone. I’m speechless," Beirut’s mayor, Jamal Itani, told Rooters while inspecting damage on Wednesday that he estimated would cost billions of dollars.
"This is a catastrophe for Beirut and Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... The head of Lebanon’s Red Thingy, George Kettani, said at least 100 people had been killed.
"We are still sweeping the area. There could still be victims. I hope not," he said.
Kettani earlier told broadcaster LBCI that the Red Thingy was coordinating with the health ministry to set up morgues because hospitals were overwhelmed.
Hours after the blast, which went off shortly after 6 p.m. (1500 GMT), a fire blazed in the port district, casting an orange glow across the night sky as helicopters hovered and ambulance sirens sounded across the capital.
The blast was heard throughout Cyprus, which is about 100 miles (160 km) away.
It revived memories of a 1975-90 civil war and its aftermath, when Lebanese endured heavy shelling, boom-mobileings and Israeli air raids. Some residents thought an earthquake had struck.
Dazed, weeping and injured people walked through streets searching for relatives.
"The blast blew me meters away. I was in a daze and was all covered in blood. It brought back the vision of another explosion I witnessed against the U.S. embassy in 1983," said Huda Baroudi, a Beirut designer.
Prime Minister Hassan Diab promised there would be accountability for the blast at the "dangerous warehouse," adding "those responsible will pay the price."
The U.S. embassy in Beirut warned residents about reports of toxic gases released by the blast, urging people to stay indoors and wear masks.
[AP] TOKYO — A governor in Japan is drawing skeptical criticism after he touted a gargling product as effective against the coronavirus, an assertion that, despite its dubiousness, emptied some store shelves of the medicine.
Shares of Shionogi & Co. and Meiji Holdings Co., which make Isojin, soared in Tokyo Tuesday trading after Osaka Gov. Hirofumi Yoshimura made the comments.
Yoshimura referred to a study carried out by the Osaka regional government on a sample of just 41 people. Experts said such a study is inconclusive.
Shionogi and Meiji shares were already coming down Wednesday, as subsequent Japanese media reports debunked Yoshimura’s claim.
Daily confirmed cases of the coronavirus have been shooting up in Japan, to more than 1,000 people. The nation had previously scored success in containing the cases, compared to harder hit nations like the U.S., Mexico and Brazil. Japan has recorded 1,023 cumulative deaths linked to COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins.
The high expectations on cures and vaccines underline the widespread worries in Japan, where there has been no lockdown but a series of warnings, asking people to wear masks, wash hands, social distance and gargle, even as businesses and restaurants stay open.

How Grandmother’s Gargling Remedy Could Help Abate The Coronavirus We also know about the cleaning power of bleach and are using it to sanitize surfaces amid the coronavirus. Have you ever wondered why this works? A certain chemical, hypochlorous acid (HOCL), in the bleach kills pathogens, including fungus, bacterium, and virus. Obviously, it is not safe to inhale or ingest bleach. However, we do have an easy and safe alternative.
Cells lining the nose and throat can produce HOCL when they are bathed with chloride. One of the easiest ways to accomplish this exposure is using sodium chloride, better known as salt or saline. The more chloride presented to the cells, the more HOCL they generate.

LONDON (Reuters) - Oil prices firmed on Wednesday after data showed a big drop in U.S. crude inventories, although concerns mounting coronavirus infections will lead to reduced fuel demand capped gains.
Brent crude was up 44 cents, or 1%, at $44.87 a barrel by 0810 GMT, while West Texas Intermediate oil rose 43 cents, or 1%, to $42.13 a barrel.
U.S. crude inventories fell 8.6 million barrels in the week to Aug. 1 to 520 million barrels, compared with analysts’ expectations for a 3 million barrel drop, the American Petroleum Institute found. [API/S]
Official figures are due later on Wednesday.
"A bullish sentiment is justified initially today on the U.S. stocks news, but we believe bulls may need to take shelter back at the ranch in coming days, as COVID-19 takes again the centre stage," Rystad Energy’s head of oil markets Bjornar Tonhaugen said.
Coronavirus cases continue to rise. In the United States, deaths are at more than a 1,000 a day, while dozens of states have had to pause or scale back plans to reopen their economies.
"We see gasoline demand coming in close to 7% year-on-year lower through Q3, with gasoil/diesel registering a decline of some 4%, implying a continued slowdown of the recovery, with a global return to 2019 levels this year increasingly in doubt," JBC Energy said.
The consultancy sees jet fuel demand at 50% lower through Q3 compared with last year.
[Tech Guy Blog] I’ve been thinking about the China seed story and something stuck me.
China has plenty of problem, a food crisis, an infection crisis, concentration camps and the three gorges dam on the brink all of these things cause internal problems.
Even worse their purchase of pols, reporters, businessmen, colleges, athletic teams and players internationally has been unable to stop their decline in influence externally thanks to the covid/wuhan/ccp virus which they generously gave to the world.
Communist dictatorships usually teeter over time. China as a communist state has now been around 71 years which is about as long as the Soviet state lasted (1917-1991 74 years) and now not only are they facing internal threats they are now facing the the single biggest external threat China’s Communist government has ever seen.

Totalitarians. The details don’t matter, just the fact that totalitarian states are too brittle to survive black swan events, or even the accumulation of white swans — and there always is an accumulation of white swans followed by the unknown unknowns that are black swans.
“Communist state” is shorthand for the entirely of the above.
[Federalist] Outsports, an LGBTQ sports and activism blog owned by Vox Media, published the names of over 300 women athletes who stood their ground by signing a letter addressed to the National College Athletic Association Board of Governors asking for the preservation of women’s sports "without permission."
In the letter, hundreds of women athletes urge the NCAA board not to participate in a boycott organized by the American Civil Liberties Union and transgender athlete Lindsay Hecox against Idaho for passing the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, which necessitates participation by student athletes according to their sex. Wait! "transgender athlete Lindsay Hecox"?? What, "Vajayjay MahBalls" was taken?
"Fairness for female athletes should not be a political or partisan issue," the letter read. "We athletes have diverse views on many topics, but stand united on this fact: protecting the integrity of women’s sports is pro-woman, pro-fairness, and consistent with the purpose and promise of Title IX."
While many of the signatories were "afraid of the backlash that they might get on social media of being labeled a transphobe or a hater" if their names were released, Outpost published screenshots of all of the names claiming that it was "in the public interest, because those who stand in favor of discrimination ought to be held accountable."

The real laugh in all of this is watching these hate-filled radical feminists get a taste of their own medicine. The Frankenstein's monster they built to crush others has turned on them.
Another Black Jew hater who believes Nation of Islam propaganda with all his heart.
[IsraelNationalNews] Larry Johnson, a former running back who played seven seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs, tweeted multiple times to his more than 147,000 followers over the weekend that a Jewish “cabal” is involved in “Human Trafficking, Sex Trafficking, Pedophilia, Ritualistic Child Torture, Perversion, Human Sacrifice/Murder.”
And on Monday, he showed no signs of apologizing.
Johnson framed one of those tweets as a response to Max Kellerman, the Jewish co-host of ESPN’s “First Take” show, who said on the air recently that “Jews do not have a plan for world domination.” Kellerman was responding to social media posts by another NFL star, DeSean Jackson, who last month posted a quote he attributed to Adolf Hitler accusing Jews of having a “plan for world domination.” Jackson subsequently removed the post and apologized.
On Saturday, Johnson posted a video of Alan Dershowitz speaking to the pro-Israel organization Stand With Us in which the attorney said, in part, “We have earned the right to influence public debate, we have earned the right to be heard.”
Johnson’s accompanying tweet accused Jews of seeking to conceal “a lucrative market in pedophilia, human trafficking, child sex trafficking & torture.”
On Monday, Johnson noted the attention his tweets had garnered, posting: “I angered ‘Rabbis’ from here to Israel.”
Johnson played for the Chiefs until 2009, when he was suspended for “conduct detrimental to the club” for a series of tweets using gay slurs. He was later waived by the team.
Since February, Johnson has hosted a podcast called “Sight to the Blind,” which its description says “explores the dark roots of our society and culture to expose deep secrets that remain untold,” according to the site StopAntiSemitism.org. Johnson frequently quotes Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has a long history of anti-Semitic comments.
An early July episode of the podcast is entitled “Anti-Semite.” The episode description reads: “This is not a war of races but a war of nations. If you don’t know who controls the propaganda in this war, how can you tell who is the real enemy? Those who are not a nation have conspired to keep the true nation of Israel asleep and will use race and Hollywood marriages like The Smiths to do it.”
Another podcast episode description reads, in part: “What is the true nation of Israel? Where does the bloodline really come from? What is Satan’s scheme in today’s world?”
Johnson’s tweets are still up as of Tuesday morning.

Who commits the most human sacrifice?
After birth: The urban black male (both perpetrator and victim).

[Rudaw] Aircraft bombed a village in Sulaimani province on Tuesday, burning through a large swathe of farmland, a local official has said.
The bombing struck close to the Sharbazher district village of Galala, approximately 50 kilometers north of Sulaimani city center, at around 11:00 am, Mawat area mayor Kamaran Hassan told Rudaw.
Hassan said he suspected the strikes were carried out by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... , who have previously bombed the area "a dozen times".
The strikes did not cause any casualties, but "scorched a large swathe of farmlands and pastures," Hassan said.

[ToloNews] The US will reduce its military presence in Afghanistan to about 4,000 troops "very soon," said President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... , in an interview with Axios on HBO.
"We are largely out of Afghanistan," Trump said in an interview with the news website Axios which was filmed on Tuesday, July 28, and aired Monday, Aug. 3, on HBO.
"We'll be down in a very short period of time to 8,000, then we're going to be down to 4,000, we're negotiating right now," Trump said.
However, death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate... he did not specify any exact times.
Trump was asked about how many US troops will remain in Afghanistan on election day in November. He said that it would be "probably anywhere from four to five thousand."
The US-Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... agreement signed on February 29 calls for the US to withdraw troops from Afghanistan and it also called for the Afghan government to free 5,000 Taliban prisoners in return for the Taliban's release of up to 1,000 government detainees.
The Taliban has released around 1,000 detainees.
The Afghan government, under US pressure, has freed around 4,600 Taliban prisoners in accordance with a list provided by the Taliban, but has balked at releasing the remaining 400 prisoners on the list, saying these detainees have committed serious crimes.
The Afghan government is convening a consultative Loya Jirga, the grand assembly of Afghan elders and representatives, to find a consensus on the decision to release these 400 Taliban prisoners who are accused of crimes including murder, drug trafficking and abduction, a senior government official said on Monday.
At least 3,200 people will attend the Loya Jirga, according to presidential front man Sediq Sediqqi, who held a presser in Kabul on Monday.

[Jpost] Conviction appears to be the first criminal penalty for violent mostly peaceful BDS activity
A Berlin court convicted on Monday a BDS activist for assaulting people during a presentation by an Israeli survivor of the Holocaust at the Humboldt University in the capital.
In a dramatic setback to the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaign claim that it is a non-violent mostly peaceful initiative targeting the Jewish state, the Berlin court declared Stavit Sinai guilty for her violent mostly peaceful conduct.
The Berlin daily B.Z. titled its article about the BDS activists at the trial: "It is so shameful. Disgusting hatred of Jews in and in front of the Berlin courtroom."
Sinai’s conviction appears to be the first criminal penalty for violent mostly peaceful BDS activity in Germany.
The paper reported about the anti-Israel bad boy: "Lecturer Stavit S. is guilty. She hit the door of the hall ’wildly’ from the outside, injuring two people... Either she pays €450, or sits in prison for 30 days." The Jerusalem Post reported in 2017 that three BDS acitivst — Ronnie Barkan, Majed Abusalama and Stavit Sinai — stormed the Humboldt University in Berlin in order to disrupt a talk titled "Life in Israel — Terror, Bias and the Chances for Peace" by Yesh Atid MK Aliza Lavie and an Israeli survivor of the Holocaust, the now 85-year-old Deborah Weinstein.
The court dismissed the criminal trespass charges against Barkan, Abusalama and Sinai. Abusalama said he is a Paleostinian journalist from Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... . He lives in the United Kingdom.
The B.Z. journalist, Anne Losensky, wrote the trial was about "trespassing and assault," adding that "All three seem to enjoy the trial so they can use it at as propaganda against Israel."
Losensky wrote that "They wear masks made of the Paleostinian scarf [keffiyeh] — a symbol of the annihilation struggle against Israel." She continued that they showed "raised fists — as if the criminal court were a tribunal against Israel."
According to the B.Z., Sinai declared "I regret nothing." Her lawyer said Israel’s policy is "apartheid.
"
Berlin’s domestic intelligence agency, which documents threats to the democratic order of the city-state, deemed the conduct of the BDS activists to be antisemitic in its 2018 report. Last year, the Bundestag declared BDS to be an antisemitic movement.
The B.Z. reported that Barkan is a 43-year-old Slovak with an Israeli passport and Sinai as a 35-year-old Romanian with an Israeli passport. Barkan has previously disrupted a Holocaust film festival in Berlin.
BDS activists also protested outside of the court house.
From time to time they do something about the most egregious whippers-up of Jew hatred, but not about the increasingly unchecked anti-Jewish, anti-Christian, and anti-French behaviour at all levels of society, thanks to the increasing boldness of the colonizers they invited in.
[Jpost] Police in La Belle France have again arrested Alain Soral, one of the country’s most prominent purveyors of anti-Semitic sentiment.
Police in La Belle France have again arrested Alain Soral, one of the country’s most prominent purveyors of antisemitic sentiment.
Soral, who has previously been sentenced to prison for inciting racial hatred and denying the Holocaust was apprehended at his Gay Paree apartment on July 29 in connection with his website, "Equality and Reconciliation," Le Gay Pareeien reported. The website outlines conspiracy theories about how Jews exercise their power and calls for a revolution.
Separately, Facebook closed on Monday the Facebook page and Instagram account of Dieudonné M’bala M’bala,
...professional Cameroonian-French comedian whose given name means God-given, he invented the quenelle, intended as an inverted Nazi salute that for a while was all the rage in French selfies to show Joo hatred and thumb their noses as the mores of polite society. Periodically he is imprisoned in France and Belgium for pushing terrorism, the usual tropes of Joo hatred, and other related species of vileness, but there is a definite market for his type of humour. He likes to be photographed laughing with like-minded celebrities and national leaders...
a political ally and friend of Soral.
Soral’s arrest was over incitement to hatred against Jews and actions that "endanger the fundamental interests of the republic." People accused of publishing incitement and other non-violent mostly peaceful offenses involving racism and calls for insubordination rarely get arrested in La Belle France. But Soral has been multiple times, though he has so far avoided prison by appealing his convictions.
Both Soral and Dieudonné have gained attention for posting antisemitic content and receiving multiple convictions for incitement and Holocaust denial. Several weeks ago, YouTube deleted Dieudonné’s channel and videos.
The action against Soral, who along with Dieudonné founded the now defunct Anti-Zionist Party in La Belle France, reflects a growing willingness on the part of the judiciary to use force against purveyors of antisemitic sentiment.
Social networks, including YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, had for years resisted or ignored calls to deprive Soral and Dieudonné of a platform on those services, citing the firms’ commitment to free speech.

It seems Macron is not willing to accept a policy of appeasement toward Erdogan. It didn't work for France in the nineteen thirties, and it won't work now.
and Harvard Attorney Alan Dershowitz debated on the topic of the coronavirus vaccine back in July.
During the debate, Kennedy Jr. claimed that Dr. Anthony Fauci invested $500 million in the vaccine (with taxpayer $$)
...that kind of thing is part of his job, actually, and fulfills a directive from President Trump. Hopefully he invested similar amounts in a number of companies working on other vaccine options, to increase the odds of getting one that actually works...
that is not safe by any means
...all medical research is a high risk investment. That’s half the reason it’s so expensive to turn a viable idea into a salable product — all the failures each success must subsidize. So low-profit items like vaccines generally don’t get attention unless there is a major grant upfront to cover the development costs...
and Fauci owns half the patent so he's due to make millions.
Probably not due anything at all, actually. Generally, patents registered while working for a company or the government are signed over to the company or the government paying one’s wages. Sometimes the worker will get a small bonus, though I never got anything more than an attagirl for the little thing I did for that sparkly kids’ toothpaste. Now if he bought stock in the company, that’s illegal insider trading for which you can go to jail.
If true, would explain a bit
It’s possible Mr. Kennedy, Jr., esq. is right about the investment without being right about vaccines.

I have a feeling that the mouth doesn't know what the hand is doing.
once again easier to pin it on an inanimate object rather than the perpetrator
if there were no guns, they'd be using machetes. if there were no machetes, they'd use clubs. if there were no clubs, they'd use their teeth and fists.

/\ Ethnic tribal denial. To deny the existence of Twyfelfontein (uncertain spring) UNESCO Namibian cave paintings might be racist. To declare the people of that region have not progressed very far in 40,000 to 60,000 years, also racist.
In some areas, civilization is in a primal, possibly genetic, stand still. A 'new patches to old wine skins' sort of dynamic. Could it be a recipe for failure ?

They seem to think the cops cause gang violence instead of the keep being there as a result of gang violence. Not a lot of logic going on regarding that entire issue.
#8
...the logic is to bury anything that may indicate its the community's fault. It's like the old Admiral rule - 1. the Admiral is never wrong, 2. If the Admiral is wrong see point 1.

Wow, I live in a nice little rural Nevada community with lots and lots of guns in almost every household. That pesky gun violence thingy has not reared its inanimate head here at all. Could the cause be some other set of factors, perhaps cultural and political? The default response will be the usual racism charge, but the truth remains the same.

M. Murcek, this is an early test object for a returnable second stage for the coming largest rocket ever. It is 9 meters wide. (most rockets max at 3.6m) It's 50 meters high and can carry >> more than 100 ton payload. No rocket has done that. Not even the Saturn V.
This is the first test hop of the stainless steel rocket. This one is missing the payload and leading cone area (hence the box of steel rolls at the top). When development is completed it should be able in passenger mode to carry 100 astronauts.
Not bad for a single stage.

[Jpost] Border Police arrested a Paleostinian with a loaded pistol in the glove compartment of his car near the West Bank city of Jenin on Monday night.
The car was stopped by police after the suspect raised their suspicion. Border Police found a loaded FN pistol wrapped in paper in the glove compartment of the car.
The suspect, a resident of Jenin in his 30's, was transferred for questioning by Israel Police.
[THEFEDERALIST] Robert Powell, the husband of Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, D-Fla., reportedly took $700,000 from a Ukrainian oligarch named Igor Kolomoisky. Mucarsel-Powell sits on the House Judiciary Committee, the committee that drafted two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... for his alleged abuse of power with regards to Ukraine.
In 2018, the Daily Beast reported that a number of businesses linked to Kolomoisky hired Powell as an attorney. One of those firms paid Powell at least $700,000 over two years, according to public records.
The Miami Herald reported Powell was working for companies tied to Kolomoisky for 10 years. Powell made most of his money in the two years leading up to his wife’s election in 2018.
Kolomoisky has been accused of contract killings and embezzlement in the past. Yet, in 2018 when Mucarsel-Powell was running for her seat, she did not see her husband’s work as relevant to her campaign.
"Debbie Mucrasel-Powell is running for Congress, not her husband. To imply that Debbie has anything to do with her indirect shareholder of a parent company that once employed her husband is an enormous stretch," said Michael Hernandez, senior communications advisor for her campaign in 2018.
While Mucrasel-Powell may have convinced her constituents that her husband’s work is unrelated, it is a clear conflict in the current impeachment of Trump. Mucarsel-Powell voted to impeach Trump.

Igor Kolomoisky: On October 1st we reported that the Biden (and now Kerry) scandal in the Ukraine is much more than about the money paid to Hunter Biden for being a Board member at the largest gas producer in the Ukraine, Burisma Holdings. The real scandal involves billions in funds from the IMF and US in aid that has gone missing.
Burisma (Ukraine’s largest oil and gas provider) has been the subject of many recent news articles because of its scandalous close-knit ties with President Obama’s Vice President Biden and Secretary of State Kerry. (Yes, Kerry is involved here too)
A controlling shareholder of Burisma is believed to be held by an entity called Privat Group:
The Privat Group, or PrivatBank Group (Ukrainian: Група “Приват”, Grupa “Privat”) is a global business group, based in Ukraine. Privat Group controls thousands of companies of virtually every industry in Ukraine, the European Union, Georgia, Ghana, Russia, the United States and other countries. Steel, oil & gas, chemical and energy are sectors of the group’s prime influence and expertise. None of the group’s capital is publicly traded on any stock exchange.
Privat Group is controlled by Ukraine’s largest commercial bank, PrivatBank, whose owner was Igor Kolomoisky. PrivatBank was later nationalized by the Ukraine in December 2016, taking 100% control of the PrivatBank entity, a month after the 2016 US election:
Kolomoisky’s bank, PrivatBank, is later revealed to be a recipient of billions of dollars of IMF funds. Kolomoisky is believed to have looted those funds:
At one point in time, Kolomoisky had been placed on a US Government Visa ban list due to his questionable business practices; however, shortly after Archer Devon and Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma, that ban was mysteriously lifted, and there has been no investigation into these missing funds.

It is germane to the discussion here, Clem. It only becomes an issue when we don’t catch duplicate article posts, and each develops its own discussion thread. Take it as a great-minds-think-alike compliment. :-) On an exciting day, three or four of us will submit the same or similar articles on a single story, confirming its importance to our readers — so I try to make final passes before and after the midnight rollover, weeding out duplicates and stacking under one post related articles.
[IsraelTimes] Syria’s al-Watan newspaper claims that the four people killed by the border fence in Sunday night’s security incident were "four citizens walking in the village close to the ceasefire zone, when they were targeted by Israeli shelling."
The Israeli army has said the four were gunnies who crossed the border and planted bombs to attack Israeli troops.
Local sources tells al-Watan that among the "deaders" was one Faisal al-Saeed, a local official in Syria’s ruling Ba’ath party.
Al-Watan is owned by Rami Makhlouf, formerly one of Syria’s richest men and a close confidant of President Bashar.

So they are, after all, going to have a convention? Will they let Joe out of his basement for this event?
“Once the bullet goes up,
who cares where it comes down?
That’s not my department,” says Wehner ibn Braun.
[IsraelTimes] After East Jerusalem parents say they don’t know what’s hurting son, Hadassah doctors stunned to find he’d been shot; neurosurgeon, paged on way to Shabbat dinner, pulls bullet out.
A nine-year-old boy from East Jerusalem is recovering after doctors at Hadassah Medical Center removed a bullet that hit him in the head, passed through his brain, ground to a halt upon reaching the inside of his skull and then migrated back into his brain.
The parents, residents the Paleostinian neighborhood of Ras al-Amud, brought in their conscious but sleepy son, who only had a tiny wound on his head and a bit of blood on his hair. Doctors were staggered when the bullet showed up in a scan.
Neurosurgeon Guy Elor told The Times of Israel he was "amazed" that even though the bullet went through "very important brain structures," the boy was chatting and recovering, and was expected to have minimal brain damage or none at all.
Police have opened an investigation and are probing, among other lines of inquiry, the possibility that the bullet came from celebratory gunfire for the Moslem Eid el-Adha festival that was observed this weekend, Israel Police front man Micky Rosenfeld told The Times of Israel.
The incident comes two months after a four-year-old girl from Issawiya, which is close to Ras al-Amud, was killed by an apparently stray bullet fired by an unknown shooter.
The boy, an Arab citizen of Israel, was taken to Hadassah University Hospital in the Ein Kerem neighborhood on Friday night by his parents, who gave a vague report. He is currently in recovery. "We wuz cleaning... uh...our cutlery...and a bullet went off. I thought the paring knife wuz unloaded"
"It was pretty strange," Elor said. "Nobody at the hospital had a clue that he had been shot by a gun. It was a nine-year-old who was a bit sleepy. The mother reported that he was playing with his friends and something happened, maybe something fell on him. The story really wasn’t clear, but there was no suggestion that he was shot. He had just a tiny wound on the top of his head."
When the boy was sent for a CT scan, staff saw a bullet lodged in his head. Elor, the on-call neurosurgeon, was on his way home to eat Shabbat dinner with his family. Hospital residents phoned him, and told him to pull over to the side of the road and look at imaging. "The scan showed that the bullet went into the head from the right side, went through the brain, and was stopped by the back side of the skull," Elor said.
He drove straight back to the hospital, and two hours after the boy’s arrival, surgery was underway.
He decided to operate immediately, and was confident that he would find the bullet outside the brain, near the skull.
"After stabilizing the boy, we took him to the operating room and tried to locate the bullet where we saw it on the CT," he said. "To our surprise it wasn’t there. We had to use some high-tech tools while the patient’s head was open to see where the bullet had disappeared to, and we found it had migrated back to the left side of the brain."
He removed it successfully, and said that careful work by the anesthesiologist prevented the brain from swelling. Elor said the child was "very lucky," commenting: "Had the bullet gone in at another angle it would have caused much more damage to the brain and left significant neurological damage."
He added: "Today [Sunday] the patient is in an extremely good condition — awake and communicating with us. We’re surprised and happy. His brain seems to be recovering remarkably."

We’re gong to let you go on vacation more often, Frank G, if that’s the kind of thing your relaxed brain comes up with.
The Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s were intensive, with 15 militia members reportedly killed.
Iranian positions near Albukamal, a key border city in Syria that is near Iraq, were hit by "unidentified jets," according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). These areas are festooned with pro-Iranian militias who have entrenched themselves at a base called Imam Ali and spread like a carpet along the western bank of the Euphrates River.
They have a network of bases and smuggling routes, as well as houses they occupy all the way to Deir Ezzor and also inland toward bases known as T-4, T-3 and T-2. This area has been hit by airstrikes monthly for more than a year.
The recent attacks took place between five and nine in the morning, apparently on August 3, although the reports emerged on August 4. They targeted Iranian-backed forces at Imam Ali, an area named al-Sekka and also in the desert near Deir Ezzor. There were casualties and weapons were destroyed. "Military vehicles affiliated with the targeted forces transported the dead and injured," SOHR says.
The SOHR report was picked up at al-Ain, where the report also notes that "15 Iraqi militia members loyal to Iran" were killed. The airstrikes were intensive. al-Ain says that a major explosion also happened at al-Hizam al-Akhdar area near Albukamal, targeting an Iranian militia there.

Iran has signed a deal to support Syrian air defense, which could see it deploy the 3rd Khordad or Bavar systems. Tehran tried to move a 3rd Khordad to T-4 base in April 2018, but it was hit by an airstrike.
The Syrian regime blames Israel for airstrikes in Syria. Jerusalem has carried out more than 1,000 airstrikes on Iranian targets. Israel says it carried out other airstrikes in Syria on August 3 in retaliation for a thwarted IED planting effort by an unknown group in Syria near the Golan. "Jets, attack helicopters and aircraft struck military targets in southern Syrian belonging to the Syrian armed forces," the Israel Defense Forces said on Monday. al-Ain says that this is "noteworthy" in its reports about the strikes by unknown aircraft near Albukamal.
Hezbollah says one of its members was killed on July 20 in airstrikes in Syria and blamed Israel, leading to tensions. On June 24, wide-ranging airstrikes hit a number of locations in Syria, including "dish hill" near Suwayda and also points near Deir Ezzor. At least seven Iranians and Syrians were allegedly killed in those strikes; reports at the time indicated that Iran might respond.

The suspected cross-border abduction of Jamshid Sharmahd appears corroborated by mobile phone location data, shared by his family with The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, that suggests he was taken to neighboring Oman before heading to Iran.
Iran hasn’t said how it detained Sharmahd, though its announcement of the arrest came against the backdrop of covert actions conducted by Iran amid heightened tensions with the US over Tehran’s collapsing nuclear deal with world powers.
Iran accuses Sharmahd, 65, of Glendora, California of planning a 2008 attack on a mosque that killed 14 people and maimed over 200 others, as well as plotting other assaults through the little-known Kingdom Assembly of Iran and its Tondar krazed killer wing. I would think it would complicate matters when you eventually go to trial to have a list of post-parole crimes. If they have a trial after the useful idiots currently in charge of Portland have been tossed some of these folks might seriously get time.
The northern Latakia countryside witnessed a heavy battle on Monday after the foreigner-led Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP)
...formerly the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, this Uighur jihadi group is listed under Tehrik-e-Taliban in the Al Qaeda organization table. Now based in Badakshan, Afghanistan with a second branch in Al Nusra-controlled Idlib-Latakia with a rump group remaining in China. The Russians and Americans take turns killing off their Syrian emirs — they’re on their third Number 1 in three years, so he’s about due to kiss a missile...
attacked the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the Jabal Turkmen region.
According to a field report from the Latakia Governorate, the Turkestan Islamic Party began their attack on Monday by attempting to infiltrate the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the mountaintop of Jabal Hassan al-Rai
The jihadist rebels attempted to utilize the dense forest and mountain terrain to overwhelm the Syrian Arab Army troops in the area.
However, there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly... according to a source in Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army was able to repel the jihadist attack after a fierce battle with the foreigner-led group.
In response to this jihadist attack, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a big assault on the key town of Kabbani,
...also known as Kbanah, it appears to be one of the few roads that you would need to cross the hilly terrain (logistics!) and try to pinch off another salient (only road and so forth) [thanks for the explanation, magpie!]...
which is currently under the control of the Turkestan Islamic Party.
Since the end of July, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from the National Defense Forces and Elite Republican Guard have repeatedly targeted the strategic mountaintop town of Kabbani, which has become the Turkestan Islamic Party’s primary stronghold in the Jabal al-Akrad region.
[FOXNEWS] Mayor Jacob Frey, the Minneapolis Democrat who faced sharp criticism over his handling of the George Floyd riots in June, on Monday seemed to place much of the blame on Gov. Tim Walz, another Democrat, for failing to act quickly on early requests from the city for state intervention, a report said.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune published a detailed report that shed light on the interaction between the mayor's office and Walz in the early days of the protest. The governor's office made it clear that National Guard Troops were ready within 24 hours of the mayor's informal request, but Frey seems to be unconvinced that the governor's office took the unfolding crisis as serious as the moment demanded.
The report also shows clear fissures in Frey’s relationship with Walz. Frey told the paper that he remembered a presser that the governor held outside the smoldering Third Precinct when he called the city’s response to the unrest the night before an "abject failure."
Frey said watching the presser was "definitely a hit in the gut."
"Not just for me, but for so many in our city that were doing everything they could...Everyone was pouring themselves into stemming the violence," he said.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Monday, a massive fire broke out at the Misrata International Airport, which is partially operated by the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces in Libya.
Pictures taken of the site showed the height of the flames in the departure hall of the airport.
According to Libyan sites, firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, which was seen from a distance, according to what activists documented.
The Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. The Libyan National Army (LNA) has repeatedly accused the GNA of receiving Ottoman Turkish supplies at the Misrata Airport.

It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... response.
De Blasio has a history of clashing with health department officials. In May of this year the mayor opted to place city hospitals in charge of coronavirus contact tracing efforts, despite the health department’s experience with contact tracing for AIDS, measles, and other outbreaks.
"I leave my post today with deep disappointment that during the most critical public health crisis in our lifetime, that the Health Department’s incomparable disease control expertise was not used to the degree it could have been," Barbot wrote in her resignation letter. "Our experts are world renowned for their epidemiology, surveillance and response work. The city would be well served by having them at the strategic center of the response not in the background."
At a Tuesday presser, de Blasio did not directly say whether Barbot was fired.
"You’re going to have disagreements along the way," de Blasio told news hounds. "It had been clear certainly in recent days that it was time for a change, and really about how we move forward."
Barbot was criticized by de Blasio after the New York Post reported on a March conversation she had with NYPD chief of department Terence Monahan, who was pushing to supply officers with masks.
"I don’t give two rats’ asses about your cops," Barbot told Monahan. "I need them for others."
However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... a health department official told the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... that police had tried to commandeer health department masks that were bound for hospitals, and that Barbot was responding to that attempt.
New York City has seen over 23,000 deaths and 231,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus. More than 2.5 percent of the city’s population has been infected.

OK, it has not been peaceful 50++ days.
Local government by either inaction and/or direct involvement has shown it has no wish to protect it citizens. This a City Gov. in Open Rebellion.
This solely politically based riot threatens the lives and private property of all citizens. The city has had time to wait it out and that failed over a month ago. Plus come elected officials even joined the rioters/looters in some cases.
Federalize the National Guard of a neighboring state using the Obama era developed Civilian control process. Bring them in on buses, deploy and surround the Rioting Thugs, arrest for rebellion. Then Federally detain them outside the city in a temporary tent camp.

Instead of tear gas use skunk scent and make it super unpleasant for them to be there. Bonus is it won't show up on cameras. Just spray them with a super soaker and enjoy the fun.

I've always liked the idea of tent camps as a cheap solution to the problem of where to keep large numbers of miscreants.

[NYPOST] Disgraced Democratic donor Ed Buck ...Big time Dem donor accused of being a homosexual predator. By the time the third party boy corpse is found OD'd in your house you need a really good lawyer really bad... has been charged with four more felonies, including enticing victims to travel interstate for prostitution. The Justice Department announced Tuesday that a Los Angeles federal grand jury returned an updated indictment with the additional felony charges, bringing a total of nine counts against Buck, 65, before he is scheduled to head to trial in January. "disgraced" = "Got caught". If not caught, he would still be right as rain
Prosecutors have alleged Buck operated a drug den in his West Hollywood home, where he administered methamphetamine to men against their will during sexual encounters.
Among the new charges, prosecutors claim Buck knowingly lured one of his victims, Gemmel Moore, 26, to travel to Los Angeles, where Buck provided methamphetamine to Moore who then fatally overdosed on July 27, 2017.
Buck is also responsible for the fatal overdose of another victim, Timothy Dean who died in Buck’s apartment, on January 7, 2019, prosecutors believe.
Buck scouted his victims through social media sites and a gay dating website, according to the indictment. Once inside his home, Buck would prepare syringes of meth and would in some instances personally inject his victims with or without their consent, prosecutors allege.
The high-profile political donor is being held in federal custody without bond.

[Jpost] The targets hit in the strikes included lookout points, intelligence gathering mechanisms, anti-aircraft weapons and more.
The IDF carried out Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s against targets belonging to the Syrian military in southern Syria on Monday night, in response to an attempted terrorist attack that was thwarted along the Syrian border the night before.
IDF aircraft, including fighter jets and helicopters, carried out the strikes, according to the IDF.
The targets hit in the strikes included lookout points, intelligence gathering mechanisms, anti-aircraft weapons and means of control and command at Syrian military bases.
That sounds fairly comprehensive...
"The IDF sees the Syrian regime as responsible for all operations carried out in its territory and will continue to act with determination against all attacks on the illusory sovereignty of the State of Israel," the IDF said.
Syrian air defenses responded to "enemy targets" southwest of Damascus on Monday night, according to Syrian state news agency SANA.
According to the agency, only material damage was caused in strikes that targeted the Quneitra area in southern Syria. al-Arabiya reported that injuries were caused in the strikes.
Shortly before the strikes in Quneitra, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that airstrikes by unidentified aircraft had targeted sites on Monday morning belonging to pro-Iranian militias in Albukamal in the Deir Ezzor area of Syria near the Iraqi-Syrian border. Deaths and injuries were reported in the strikes, which damaged armories and other sites belonging to the militias.
IDF soldiers thwarted an attempt to place bombs near the Syrian border fence late Sunday night.
"Special forces that were carrying out an ambush near an IDF post in the southern Golan Heights spotted a cell with a number of hard boyz planting bombs along the border. An IDF force and an aircraft opened fire together on the four-member cell and hit them," the military said, adding that no soldiers were harmed in the incident.
"We don’t know who sent them," said IDF front man Brig.-Gen. Hidai Zilberman on Monday. "There are a lot of players in Syria, some acting for Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and some not. We cannot say right now that this is a Hezbollah attack, but we can’t rule it out either."
Later on Monday, the army said that during an investigation of the scene, some 25 meters from the perimeter fence inside Israeli territory, weapons and a bag containing a number of bombs were found.
The foiled attack took place near an abandoned military post in the southern Golan Heights on the Syrian border where the IDF had operated the Mazor Ladach field clinic, which was opened in August 2017 and closed a year later, Zilberman told news hounds.

Joe Biden 'wants to make sure that American jobs stay here' said AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka.
Biden doesn't know what he wants anymore. And his handlers have come up with the slogan "Build Back Better." I'd be worried if I were a union leader. Unless I were paid to think otherwise, of course.

Secretary General of Kataeb Party killed in Beirut Port explosion
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Secretary General of the Kataeb Party, Nizar Najarian, was reported dead after suffering a severe injury at the party’s headquarters during the massive blast at the Port of Beirut on Tuesday.
According to LBCI, the party’s secretary general died as a result of a severe head injury at the party’s headquarters, Beit al-Wassit (Central House), in Beirut.
Several politicians have mourned his death, including the President of the Kataeb Party of Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... , Samy Gemayel.
The Lebanese Health Ministry has reported that as many as ten people have been killed as a result of the earth-shattering kaboom at the Port of Beirut.
Civil defense units are now combing through several areas around the earth-shattering kaboom’s epicenter to help civilians and put out fires.
Those responsible for Beirut 'catastrophe' will 'pay price': PM
[Al Ahram] Lebanon's prime minister vowed Tuesday that those responsible for two massive blasts in Beirut's port, which killed at least 50 people and injured thousands, would be held to account.
"What happened today will not pass without accountability. Those responsible for this catastrophe will pay the price," Hassan Diab said in a televised address.
Diab also appealed for international assistance to help Lebanon, which is already mired in its worst economic crisis in decades.
"I am sending an urgent appeal to all countries that are friends and brothers and love Lebanon, to stand by its side and help us treat these deep wounds," the prime minister said.
A security bigshot said earlier that the earth-shattering kabooms that shook the entire capital could be due to "kabooms" confiscated and stored in a warehouse "for years".
Diab in his speech promised announcements about "this dangerous warehouse that has been in existence for six years, since 2014".
Wheat in Beirut's port granaries not usable, Lebanon will import wheat
[Jpost] Lebanon's economy minister, Raoul Nehme, told local media on Tuesday that the wheat in Beirut's port granaries can not be used and that the ministry lost track of seven employees in the granaries. The minister also told local media that Lebanon will import wheat and added that the country currently has enough wheat until they begin importing it.
Another straw on the camel’s back on the way to national bankruptcy.

News reports say there was 2750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in that warehouse from a seized cargo in 2013. That's more than the main 1947 Texas City explosion but the explosion was less powerful since in the Texas City explosion, the cargo ship's hold acted like bomb case, magnifying the blast wave.

Poor Lebanon. It was the French Riviera and Amalfi Coast combined with better beaches and skiing and gambling thrown in for good measure. Beautiful place with beautiful architecture and beautiful girls everywhere and an otherwise warm population. Then they had a vermin infestation of paleo's and Hizbo. Gradually ground down into chaos and now this. Tragic.

Hahahaha - Happy Birthday Obama. I dont believe in coincidence, follows I dont think it was a mistake that this happened on Zero's birthday. Somebody is poking fun at symbolism.
Netanyahu warned Hezbollah about their missile factories in residential Beirut neighborhoods. His 2018 UN Speech, he held up a Beirut city map with suspected missile sites and labeled right there in front of that apartment complex sitting next to the dock - dotted in red outline was one which happens to be ground zero for the explosion.
Fireworks factory (plausible deniability). Ammonia Nitrate (stuff that goes boom "might come in handy") warehouse. All proxy to a location that was ID'd in an Israeli geo-political white paper as a Hezbollah missile factory. Which was ground zero for a 4.5 Richter Scale Blast on Obama's birthday.

For energy yield of the blast, I found one site where the guy gives his full analysis and estimates 0.3 kiloton (same as my estimate earlier today) TNT equivalent.
I can't yet find a similar full analysis of the estimates that come out as 2 or more kilotons.
BTW, the bomb at Hiroshima was about 15 kilotons TNT equivalent.

[ToloNews] A district governor in Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. , who has spent four years in Guantanamo Bay on charges of links with the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... , led an operation against a group of four ISIS attackers who planned an assault on the city of Jalalabad and its airport as other members of the group stormed a jail in the eastern part of town, local officials said.
A good thing he was clever enough to be there to intervene, under the circumstances.
The officials said that simultaneously with the attack on Jalalabad prison, ISIS attackers were hiding at a residential building in Behsud district — four kilometers from Jalalabad city and its airport — to shell the city from there. The officials said 440 rounds of mortar shells were about to be used by ISIS fighters on Jalalabad city and airport from Behsud district. The mortar rounds were shown to media by local officials on Tuesday.
"The attack was very complicated. It was a chain attack and was part of the prison attack so that involved attacking Jalalabad and its airport," said Waisuddin, an army officer.
"I know about their activities," said Ghalib Mujahid, the district governor for Behsud district who led the operation. "For instance, if they go to Kunar or Achin..."
The attack on the prison was conducted by 11 ISIS fighters. It started with a boom-mobile explosion at around 7 pm Kabul time on Sunday and continued for almost 20 hours. The attack left 27 civilians and two security force members dead. At least 50 others were maimed, officials said.
According to the Defense Ministry, five prisoners were also killed. Local officials said the attackers destroyed a wall of the prison and tried to escape.
"ISIS and Taliban (member) and those who were accused of kidnapping--big crimes, some of them were sentenced to death and some of those who were sentenced to long-term jail have succeeded to escape," said Nasir Kamawal, member of Nangarhar Provincial Council.
"The government and the Taliban are focusing on talks. ISIS is showing its power," said Zabihullah Zmarai, a former member of Nangarhar Provincial Council.
ISIS on Tuesday posted a photo of 11 attackers and claimed that three of them were Indian nationals, four Tajikistan nationals, and that one Pak and three Afghans were involved in the attack.
[IsraelTimes] Afghan authorities are searching for about 270 inmates — most of them Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... fighters — who remain on the loose after escaping during a deadly prison raid.
At least 29 people were killed when Islamic State button men attacked the facility in Jalalabad on Sunday, with fierce fighting lasting until yesterday afternoon.
More than 1,300 inmates tried to escape, a senior Afghan security official tells AFP on condition of anonymity, but most were either swiftly re-arrested or surrendered when surrounded by security forces.
But some 270 prisoners are "still on the loose", the official says. "Most of those who escaped are from ISKP," he says, referring to Islamic State’s Afghan branch, known as the Islamic State in Khorasan Province.
Acting Interior Minister Massoud Andrabi said on Twitter that IS's new head in Afghanistan, Shahab Al-Mahajir, was a member of the Haqqani network, considered a Taliban offshoot.
Washington has branded the Haqqani network, accused of carrying out numerous deadly attacks in Afghanistan, a terrorist organisation.
[OilPrice] One of the world’s largest oil producers and exporters, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has just launched the first nuclear power plant in the Arab world. Touted as a major milestone for the UAE and its energy diversification, the project raises questions about the economic viability of an expensive nuclear power plant in one of the best spots for solar energy in the world.
More importantly, the project also raises questions about the geopolitical implications of a nuclear facility in the restive Middle East region, where tensions increased after the assasination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani earlier this year. When haven't the ME tensions "raised"? If there's no external reason, these tribal assholes will create an internal one
Iran could trigger a nuclear arms race, experts say.

[Spectator] It puts Democrat-controlled states at greater risk of missing "safe harbor" deadline.
In other words, the Democratic campaign to convince the public that it is dangerous to vote in person primarily scares their own voters.
The Democrats are obviously committed to using the COVID-19 pandemic as the latest pretext for achieving their longtime goal of widespread voting by mail. They may, however, end up outsmarting themselves. The Democrats are so invested in their revisionist history concerning Bush v. Gore that they have forgotten why SCOTUS actually stopped the Florida recounts on December 12, 2000. That was the "safe harbor" date after which the state’s electors may not have been counted. Federal law requires that states must resolve post-election disputes (e.g. recounts) within 35 days after Election Day or risk disfranchising their voters. In 2000, that would have changed the outcome of the presidential election.
What does this have to do with mail-in voting? Acting on the assumption that Congress is unlikely to pass legislation requiring every state to send mail-in ballots to all registered voters, a number of Democrat-controlled states are moving to pass bills that will mandate vote-by-mail schemes within their own borders. Nevada just became the latest state to adopt such a plan. The obvious problem is that Election Day is only three months away and the logistical difficulties of expanding mail-in voting are legion. Five states, including Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, conduct elections exclusively by mail and still have serious problems after years of trying to get it right. Indeed, they have literally lost millions of ballots.

The DEM game plan appears to be:
1. Suggest Trump won't leave if he loses
2. Steal the election by inventing votes and adding them during the mail-in ballot confusion.
Actual election theft is the one case Trump won't actually leave.
3. Claim we told you so, he's lying about the cheating and just refuses to leave because he's a Cheeto-head bad man Hitler.
