Afghanistan
Importing Enemies
h/t Instapundit
Perennial Democratic White House aide, congressman, Chicago mayor, and ambassador-in-waiting Rahm Emmanuel's sole memorable utterance‐his only candidate for Bartlett's‐is his cynical 2008 maxim that the good guys (i.e., his team) must "never let a serious crisis go to waste." He was speaking of using the financial crisis to usher in sweeping changes to law, policy, the economy, and society that would otherwise not have been possible through ordinary democratic processes.

The same logic applies now to the Democrats'‐and many Republicans'‐insistence that America be flooded with Afghan "refugees." Importing as many immigrants as possible, from cultures as alien to traditional America as possible, is the ruling class's top priority, after protecting its own wealth and power. But since importing millions upon millions of foreigners is the primary tool by which the ruling class maintains that wealth and power‐by suppressing wage growth and dividing the population‐it can be hard to disaggregate these two priorities.

...And now, just like thirteen years ago, our rulers want to use a crisis they created as justification to ram through what they always wanted to do anyway. Which, in this case, is to resettle a hundred or two hundred thousand (the number varies depending on who's speaking) foreigners with no tradition of liberty‐who are indeed from a culture deeply alien, even hostile to, Western civilizational norms‐in your communities.

The justification for this is already being trumpeted: we must save our "allies," translators and such, who helped us throughout our twenty-year failed experiment. This argument, though offered in bad faith, is effective because the vast majority of American consider abandoning an ally to a deadly enemy dishonorable.

But does anyone really believe that America has, or ever had‐even over the duration of two decades‐200,000 "allies" in Afghanistan? That we ever employed even a fraction of that number as translators? The claim is risible on its face.

The regime has in any case already admitted that, of the roughly 111,600 Afghans (as compared to 5,400 American citizens) already evacuated, it has no idea who the vast majority of them are. Our masters tell us that we must save "allies" and "translators"‐and then in the next breath admit that they're indiscriminately taking anyone.

...There surely are some translators or others who really did help American forces and who deserve to be evacuated. If Americans could trust their government to establish and operate a serious vetting system to identify those truly worthy of resettlement‐vouched for, say, by two or more of our soldiers who worked directly with the applicant in the field‐most would support refugee status for such people. But they would number at most in the thousands, not the hundreds of thousands currently in process of resettlement.

...Beyond those (few) genuine allies and translators, America has no obligation to bring over "refugees" at all. Those who claim such a reason on the basis of Colin Powell's "Pottery Barn rule"‐"you break it, you bought it," a rule that Pottery Barn does not actually impose‐are incoherent. For by this logic, the United States is perpetually bound to compound its worst disasters with further deliberate errors: wreck a country, import its citizens. Or is that simply the plan?

Instead of "you break it, you bought it," how about, "when you're in a hole, stop digging"? Why do 2,500 American deaths, 20,000 injuries, and $2 trillion in losses obligate us to take on additional problems and burdens? How do our genuine obligations to a few hundred translators extend across an entire population of more than 37 million? Such arguments are a combination of sophistry and guilt-trip, in the service of ruling class pieties and political (and pecuniary) interests.

Convicted rapist reached the U.S. on Afghan evacuation flight
[Wash Times] A man who had been convicted of rape and deported from the U.S. was allowed to board an Afghan evacuation flight and reach America, law enforcement sources say.

When American citizens were having trouble catching flights out of Kabul, Ghader Heydari made it on an Ethiopian Airlines charter flight for evacuees.

Border officials flagged the 47-year-old on his arrival at Washington Dulles International Airport. They appear to be the first to have spotted his criminal and immigration history and derailed his entry.

Heydari is being held at the Caroline Detention Facility in Bowling Green, Virginia, The Washington Times has learned.

"They are bringing far too many people in far too quickly to be able to effectively vet them," said Ken Cuccinelli, a deputy secretary at Homeland Security in the Trump administration.

How One Officer's Enlisted Men Ensured He Received the Medal of Honor
[Mil.com] Matt Urban was a decorated World War II soldier with more lives than any cat. He was wounded seven times in combat, then returned to lead his men six times -- and has the Purple Hearts to prove it.

Urban served in the Army throughout the duration of WWII, somehow surviving numerous wounds that might have killed anyone else. His official list of feats is so long, he was one Distinguished Service Cross short of surpassing Audie Murphy as the war's most decorated American soldier.

But he didn't receive his Medal of Honor until 1980 because the required paperwork somehow got lost in the shuffle. It was the men he served with in 2nd Battalion, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division who ultimately ensured that President Jimmy Carter awarded him America's highest award for conspicuous gallantry.

Born Matthew Urbanowicz, Urban began college at Cornell University in Upstate New York, where he joined the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps. Upon graduating in 1941, Matt Urban (who formally changed his name after the war) was commissioned a second lieutenant and joined the infantry at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

When the United States entered World War II, Urban was on the ground from the first day of the Invasion of North Africa until the last day of the war in Europe, leaving Germany with the rest of his troops. In between, he fought in Sicily, landed at Utah Beach on D-Day, and advanced into Belgium.

Along the way, the Germans dubbed him "The Ghost," because no matter how many times they thought they had finally killed him, Urban seemed to respawn. His ability to recover and rejoin his men surprised the U.S. Army just as much. Urban snuck away from medical tents, transport ships and hospitals just to return to the fight alongside his men in the 60th Infantry.

Veteran Green Beret says special ops volunteers will STAY in Kabul to save Afghan refugees after using encrypted phones and 'shepherds' to rescue more than 500 allies in secret nighttime operations
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Retired Army Lt. Colonel Scott Mann has served multiple tours in Afghanistan

  • He and two fellow Green Berets are leading Task Force Pineapple, which he described as an 'underground railroad' of service members rescuing Afghans

  • The mission began with an Afghan commando stuck outside of Kabul airport who reached out to the three US military members for help evacuating

  • They led him through his perilous journey using encrypted chat messages

  • Active service members stationed at the airport have been unofficially lending a hand by jumping into waist-deep sewage to pull Afghans out and other methods

  • Task Force Pineapple was named for an image of the fruit that fleeing Afghans would flash on their phone at US troops looped into the mission as a sign

  • The pineapple image on their phones mean they have been vetted and guided by Mann and other 'shepherds' who are largely retired veterans helping remotely

  • Mann described Afghans being beaten, trampled and shot at in their journey

  • He said the next step would be to figure out how to 'move them out of the country unconventionally' without the use of Hamid Karzai International Airport

Israeli weapons in Afghanistan
[Jpost] How Israeli weapons were used to hunt the Taliban: From drones to missiles and armored vehicles, Israeli-made weapons systems helped coalition forces against Taliban fighters.
Details of which weapons at the link.
And according to some reports, it wasn’t only Israeli weapons systems in Afghanistan.

Though Israel does not comment on foreign reports, Iranian media reported in 2019 that troops were sent to Afghanistan to collect intelligence on Iranian military movement.

According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Israeli troops operated out of a United States Air Force base in Shindand in the western Afghanistan province of Herat some 75 km. from the Iranian border and were collecting intelligence on Iranian movement around the Persian Gulf region.

Russia’s Sputnik News stated at the time that the Israelis were operating “under the flags of the United States and the United Arab Emirates.”

Sputnik quoted an expert on Israel as saying that the Israeli troops were operating under the framework of American forces stationed there, and that the activity was carried out with the knowledge and approval of the Afghan government.

Vegas store requires proof-of-horse photo to deter customers seeking Ivermectin for COVID-19
[Washington Examiner] A store in Las Vegas is requiring any customer who wants to buy Ivermectin, a drug primarily intended to treat parasitic worms in animals, to bring a photo with their horse.

Several people are seeking Ivermectin this summer to try to treat or prevent COVID-19 despite warnings from health officials, causing V & V Tack and Feed to be sold out of the drug, according to KTNV in Las Vegas .

Store associate Shelly Smith told the outlet demand began to rise months ago, and that's when she put up a sign warning customers that Ivermectin can be dangerous to humans.

"The first sign came about several months ago when you started seeing articles about Ivermectin treating COVID. So, when I was ordering my Ivermectin, I noticed our distributors had that [warning], so I figured let me hang one too just to let people know, 'Do not take this,'" Smith said.

#9  Way back in the early days of this insanity I had an in person meeting with my Dr. She told me she had a patient who had his wife come down with full blown case of the Winnie the Flu. Since he tested positive but had no symptoms he couldn't return to work untill he had a negative test. A month went by and still positive. She said on a DR. message board there was a report that some docs in Brazil found that Ivermectin gave positive results, so a what the heck she gave him the dose and the next time he tested he was negative. I joked that maybe I should go to Tractor Supply for some Ivo-Mec pour on. I am surprised it took so long for people to realize that they could get this stuff OTC. The key is most folks have no idea of what the correct dosage is. BTW the stuff is fatal to tortoises and there was a case of public aquarium killing a bunch of sharks with it. In humans it is being used to treat "river blindness" Matbe the problem is Lawyers have the same effect as sharks when treated with this drug.
Of course taking drugs meant for animals can have side effects.

Afghanistan
White House defends letting billions in military equipment fall into Taliban hands
[Washington Examiner] White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that it was not the Biden administration's intention to arm the Taliban with billions of dollars in military equipment originally given to the Afghan government but claimed that the United States is taking steps to "reduce the amount of equipment" in the Taliban's possession before completing the troop withdrawal at the end of the month.

Psaki, fielding questions at Monday's White House press briefing, declined to "get into details" of how specifically U.S. forces are carrying out the equipment destruction or
recovery but assured reporters "that is part of their effort."

Rep. Jim Banks, an Indiana lawmaker who chairs the Republican Study Committee and served in Afghanistan, estimated the value of what was left behind at $85 billion.

The top White House spokeswoman outlined a series of choices the U.S. made that led to Taliban forces obtaining American-supplied equipment.

"We had to make an assessment several weeks ago about whether we provide materials to the Afghan National Security Forces so that they could fight the fight. Obviously, they decided not to fight, and we made the decision to provide them with that equipment and the material," she continued. "We have not assessed that any group on the ground, whether it's ISIS-K or the Taliban, has the ability to attack the United States."

Psaki added, "There's a difference between the threat that is posed to U.S. men and women serving or people who are gathering outside of the gates in Kabul and whether these individuals can attack the United States."

I read the WH Quote: "We had to make an assessment several weeks ago about whether we provide materials to the Afghan National Security Forces so that they could fight the fight. Obviously, they decided not to fight, and we made the decision to provide them with that equipment and the material,"

What is the bottom line?
Was this equipment property of the US Gov., or Sold/leased/loaned to the Afghan National Security Forces?

Either way it sounds like US DOD /SOS/INTEL Grps. and the WH JC's
missed or this call by a country mile.

What if they knew and planned for it?
Then was the bigger SOS / DOD / Intel Diplomatic plan to ARM the Taliban to keep RUSSIA, IRAN, AND CHINA from quickly expanding their territories.

The Taliban have an ‘Emirate,' if they can keep it
[JPost] - In 1787 the American statesman Benjamin Franklin was leaving the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia when he was asked "what do we have, a republic or a monarchy?" He replied, "A republic, if you can keep it." Having won in Afghanistan, the Taliban now have an Emirate, in their own terminology, but they will have to try to keep it.

In some ways, it is a fitting comparison to look at the US leaving Afghanistan in 2021 and the way the British left their former American colonies after the battle of Yorktown in 1781. The US was not really defeated by the Taliban, but many think that this decision to leave marks a turning point in US post-Cold War hegemony on the world stage. That remains to be seen.

The larger question is what the Taliban victory means for them and for like-minded groups. The Taliban emerged out of the chaos of the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan. They were, as their name suggests, younger men then. The mujahideen, Afghan fighters infused with religion, had pushed the Soviets out, but the Taliban took many years to come to power.

...The horrors the Taliban inflicted on Afghanistan foreshadowed the sectarian genocidal policies of Al Qaeda and its fellow travelers in Iraq after 2003 and then the ISIS genocide against Yazidis and Shi’ites. It was the Taliban who had persecuted Shi’ites in Afghanistan and, like ISIS, they destroyed the historical fabric of Afghanistan. This attempt to erase archaeological and religious history and minorities had a Nazi-like quality to it.

Today’s Taliban is said to be different.
No more bacha bazi boys for the local commanders, no more partnership with the opium trafficking gangs, no more confiscating pretty daughters of the locals to marry off to Talib hard boys, no more beating and killing women not fully covered in a burqa? Maybe at the college-educated top, but down in the trenches we are already hearing reports of old behaviours returned with a vengeance.
That means its "emirate" is one that might flourish if they can get recognition and investment. Unlike the 1990s Taliban, this one has links to China, Russia, Pakistan, Qatar and Turkey. In fact, it appears that some of their special forces had training from some backers. Some of them know how to fly helicopters. They have inherited a small arsenal from the Afghan army and from abandoned US-led Coalition equipment. They have drones, a Blackhawk helicopter and armored vehicles.

...The US has hopes for the Taliban to be able to manage their Emirate responsibly. "The statement is positive. We, our allies, and the international community will hold them to these commitments," US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad tweeted on August 28. This week he noted that "the Taliban now face a test. Can they lead their country to a safe and prosperous future where all their citizens, men and women, have the chance to reach their potential? Can Afghanistan present the beauty and power of its diverse cultures, histories and traditions to the world?"

...Meanwhile, the Taliban will want to bring in China, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Malaysia and Turkey for investment opportunities. They will want to neutralize any opposition, such as in the Panjshir Valley. They will also want to get the abandoned equipment left behind working so they can secure the country.

These are big tasks. But they may have support from Qatar and others that will come out in the open now. They will have to decide how much they want to let these foreign countries have a say in running things in Kabul. They have an Emirate, if they can keep it. It remains to be seen if they will want to host Hamas and other groups, like HTS from Idlib, and provide guidance on other terror armies that want to transform into states.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Finally! Christhian Rivera gets sentenced to life without possibility of parole
[HotAir] College student Mollie Tibbetts disappeared while jogging on July 18, 2018. More than three years later her killer Christhian Bahena Rivera
...an illegal alien from Mexico...
finally received the maximum sentence, life in prison without possibility of parole.

Judge Joel D. Yates told Bahena Rivera, “You, and you alone, forever changed the lives of those who loved Mollie Tibbetts. And for that, you and you alone will receive the following sentence.”

Bahena Rivera, wearing a mask and headphones, was stoic as Yates sentenced him to a “lifetime sentence with no eligibility for parole.”

Bahena Rivera, 27, was sentenced to the maximum penalty under the law in a high-profile case that also became politicized, in part because of the defendant’s status as an undocumented immigrant.

The number of twists and turns in this case has been remarkable. In fact, if someone published a novel with this many twists it would be considered unrealistic. Start with the fact that Rivera was identified thanks to a home security video in which his car was seen following Tibbetts. Then, after a long interrogation, he brough police to the site where her body was found in a corn field. But police later admitted they hadn’t fully read Rivera his rights until they were at the corn field which rendered a portion of what amounted to his confession inadmissible during his the trial. Then there was the delay caused by the pandemic which meant his trial didn’t start until May of this year.

But the biggest surprises came during the trial. After his defense attorneys did their best to heap suspicion on Tibbetts boyfriend who was 100 miles away at the time of her disappearance, they suddenly announced he would take the stand to tell the real story of what happened.

Bahena Rivera said two armed men who were wearing black and had their faces covered by stocking caps showed up at his trailer after he finished showering that evening. The men directed him to get in his car and drive, and they passed Tibbetts as she ran several times before directing him to stop, he said.

Bahena Rivera, 26, said a man with a knife got out of the car and walked down the rural road. The man was gone for about 10 minutes as the second man in the back seat of the car grew nervous, saying, “Come on, Jack,” he claimed.

Dalton Jack just happened to be the name of Tibbett’s boyfriend. In any case, this sudden claim that two strangers in ski masks forced him to drive around with Tibbetts body in her trunk, a claim he’d never once mentioned in the three years since her disappearance, didn’t convince the jury which convicted him of first-degree murder after just 7-hours of deliberations.

But there was one more twist left in this saga. After his conviction, his attorneys claimed that two brand new witnesses had come forward to confirm parts of his story:

According to their court filing, a person incarcerated at an unnamed Iowa correctional facility approached their prison chaplain after seeing media coverage of the Bahena Rivera trial. On the stand, Bahena Rivera testified that two masked men had abducted him and forced him to assist with the kidnapping and killing of Tibbetts. Prosecutors afterward dismissed that account as fiction, but the witness, who is not named in the motion, told prison officials he could corroborate Bahena Rivera’s account.

Based on the new witnesses, the defense asked the judge for a new trial and managed to delay his original sentencing. But earlier this month the judge rejected those requests in a 13-page decision which pointed out the defense attorneys themselves had decided not to pursue the alleged witnesses’ claims at the time they were first reported to them.

How Biden became the godfather of corruption in Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

by Dmitry Steshin

Former Lieutenant Colonel of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) Vasily Prozorov, who has lived in Russia since 2019, has taken up research into the abyss of Ukrainian corruption. There was a whole book of material! On the eve of its release, he told kp.ru about a disease that endures the consciousness of the Ukrainian statehood.

Vasily Nikolaevich Prozorov: Born on 06/29/1975 in the city of Berdyansk, Ukrainian SSR. Ex-employee of the Security Service of Ukraine, lieutenant colonel. Since 2014, after the coup d'etat on the Maidan, he collaborated with the Russian special services for reasons of principle. The head of the Investigation Center is Vasily Prozorov. Part of the materials of the book being prepared for publication has been published on the website of the Center in the public domain.

TWO VARIETIES OF THEFT - AT ZELENSKY AND Poroshenko

As you know, one of the official reasons for the Maidan was the allegedly incredible corruption of the past government. Of course, it did not go anywhere after 2014, but only grew and multiplied, continuing to spoil life in today's Ukraine. For example, the European Union says it does not take Ukraine into its membership because of its corruption. Maybe this is just a formal reason for the refusal? I asked Vasily Prozorov to estimate the scale. It turns out that there are two types of corruption, one worse than the other:

"While studying Ukrainian corruption, I divided the post-Maid period into two parts: 'under Poroshenko' and 'under Zelensky.' What amazed me was that under Poroshenko, the level of corruption was off scale, but the stolen money remained in the country. Corrupt officials under Poroshenko did not separate themselves from Ukraine. It was a kind of 'pro-Ukrainian corruption,' people stealing money saw their future in Ukraine - oligarchs, businessmen, Rada deputies. Under Zelenskiy, everything turned 180 degrees, corruption became pro-Western.

- Like this?

- This is theft in the interests of other countries. Corruption in itself destroys the state, the social and political system, the economy, but when money is stolen in the interests of other countries.

- There is a feeling that Ukraine has been "degreased" in recent years. The country left the USSR with a GDP at the level of Germany. It is clear that in the 90s all the former Soviet republics had a hard time, but Ukraine became the only one of them that never reached its 1991 level.

- So, Ukraine is losing billions of dollars, I was amazed when I began to delve into it. The claims of the European Union are not empty, they have grounds. Moreover, corruption at all levels - from regional hospitals to the president himself. But I think that in Ukraine, too, they are right: the EU uses corruption as a reason for refusing to integrate. They are simply afraid to get involved with Ukraine.

DO NOT FIGHT BUT CONTROL

What can Europe fear with its well-oiled state machine? According to Prozorov, this corruption is systematic. In fact, this is an artificial model of state governance:

- The European Union knows that corruption in Ukraine is systemic. Moreover, the West has created in Kiev a vertical of bodies controlling corruption - the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (hereinafter NABU. - Auth.), A specialized “anti-corruption” prosecutor's office and the Anti-Corruption Court. That is, the West has an operational investigation in Ukraine, and support for accusations in court - prosecutor's supervision, and the court itself, which is considering all these cases.

- Tight bundle! Corruption should have been defeated long ago!

- Yes, it is a closed, self-sufficient system. But what's the problem: it is completely controlled by Western countries! And then this system has undeclared opportunities - a body that fights against the system of corruption receives dirt on any official and civil servant.

- That is, this is how the notorious "external control" of Ukraine works?

- I will give an example of pro-Western corruption that is literally killing the country. There was such a Nikolai Martynenko, an oligarch, was engaged in nuclear energy. His firms collaborated with Rosatom and ensured the operation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants. Martynenko supported the Maidan, became one of the leaders of the "Popular Front" of Arseniy Yatsenyuk. It was even called the "Popular Front" purse. And here such a giant as Westinghouse from the USA lays an eye on the Ukrainian nuclear industry.

Cases of corruption are quickly initiated, the oligarch is knocked out of business, from all spheres, he is even imprisoned for a while. As a result, Westinghouse enters Ukraine, and now it supplies TVEL (the main fuel cell in nuclear reactors - Ed.) For nuclear power plants, moreover, it is 30 percent more expensive than similar ones from Rosatom. The new Ukrainian government obediently signs contracts, and by 2025 60 percent of TVEL in the country will be from the United States. I think this is already a betrayal of the motherland.

- This is really something innovative in public administration - externally controlled corruption. Like the Film "Aliens," but American, by the way.

COLONIALISM 5.0
- Nobody denies the commercial interest of the USA in Ukraine. On the contrary, the Ukrainian authorities are very proud of cooperation with such a powerful country. But here in your book the scandalous story with the private gas production company "Burisma" is disclosed in detail. Where, by a strange coincidence, the son of the current American president ended up on the board of directors
- Yes, it became known that Biden's son was paid from $3 million to $10 million dollars, such a form of bribe, and not only to the son, but also to the father. This is true. But against the background of the schemes that worked in the Ukrainian Naftogaz, corruption in Burisma is a trifle. And Vice President Joe Biden was directly involved in these schemes.

- What were these schemes?

- The loudest one is “reverse gas deliveries”. Gas is supplied to Europe via a Ukrainian pipeline, and then from Slovakia, Poland and Hungary is returned back through "gasket firms".

- And his price is already different?

- So different that, according to some estimates, from 2015 to 2020, about 2 billion dollars were pulled out of the pockets of Ukrainians. And this scheme was lobbied by Biden, who achieved the appointment of his assistant, Amos Hochstein, as a member of the supervisory board of Naftogaz with very broad powers, up to participation in resolving personnel issues and monitoring the execution of transactions. Without his personal involvement, the "Russian gas reverse" scam would not have materialized.

- Now all the reasons for the US suffering over Nord Stream 2 are becoming clear.

- What's interesting: when Zelensky came to power, he perfectly understood what kind of scheme it was. Representatives of the Trump administration, lawyer and politician Rudolph Giuliani, for example: they needed dirt on Biden for the presidential elections, immediately became frequent visitors to him .

Zelenskiy and his advisers decided to drag out until the last moment, without taking sides. But in the event of Trump's victory, they were ready to rewrite this shop to other owners. US Energy Secretary Rick Perry came, held meetings with Zelensky. He urged him to replace the head of Naftogaz in order to appoint his own man. But Zelensky got out of it, remained "neither yours, nor ours." Unlike Poroshenko, who bet on Biden, and Trump won.

- I see a new colonial system of the world, it works even without guns and landings on the coast.

- Yes, this is no longer necessary, the money is taken away and so, and the competing enterprises are liquidated.

GARBAGE ARMOR
- There is probably also corruption in the Ukrainian defense industry - it is for special people who are not afraid of blood. It is already openly said that it is largely for this reason that Kiev needs the war in Donbass to last as long as possible.

- I was picking schemes in Ukroboronprom. There were two such people, Sergei Pashinsky and Oleg Gladkovsky, under Poroshenko they were called "shadow kings of the defense industry." Pashinsky was a deputy and chairman of the Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, and Gladkovsky was the deputy head of the National Security Council. They were spinning billion-dollar schemes.

- Are there examples?

- For the Ukrainian army, outdated BMP-1s, still Soviet ones, were purchased in Poland and the Czech Republic. They were bought through Cypriot and Polish firms at the price of scrap metal, 25,000 euros per unit. Moreover, the hull and the tower were delivered to Ukraine separately, according to some estimates, "Ukrooboronprom" paid about 170,000 euros for them.

At the Zhytomyr armored plant for 30,000 euros they were collected, slightly modernized. They put up a connection and welded on the grilles from hits from a grenade launcher. As a result, one BMP-1 cost the budget 200 thousand euros. But! There is one detail: Ukrainian officials and the Ukrainian plant made money on this. The money as a whole remained in the country. Under Poroshenko.

- And under Zelensky?

- 2019, "Ukrooboronprom" is completely transferred under the control of the West. It was a raider takeover. They changed the leadership, announced a reform of the structure. Moreover, the plan for this reform was developed by the British Department of Defense! Then the Americans landed at all the enterprises of Ukroboronprom, analyzed and determined which industries are competitive with the West and which are not. And they took action.

- What else did they consider a threat to their business?

- The shipbuilding industry, inherited by Ukraine from the USSR. Three giant factories in the city of Nikolaev, capable of producing even aircraft carriers, with a hundred-year history, have gone bankrupt. The Black Sea shipbuilding plant was liquidated. And now Zelenskiy says he is going to strengthen the Ukrainian fleet by purchasing ships from the UK.

- The sales market was completely squeezed out.

MORTARS OF DEATH

- There was also a story that profits for corrupt officials are more expensive than people's lives. Almost two dozen of their own crews were killed by the Ukrainian Molot mortars.

- I was in rotation as deputy commander of the ATO (Anti-terrorist operation - as the war in Donbass was called in Kiev. - Ed.), And Colonel-General Mikhail Koval came to one closed meeting. And he said: "Nobody will give up Molotov, because this is our Ukrainian production, the Mayak plant in Kiev."

- And what about the military?

- They shrugged their shoulders, "Hammers" were accepted, but they did not use them. And when you start digging into this story, it turns out that the Hammers were lobbied by Mr. Pashinsky, and each mortar cost the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense 400,000 hryvnias (about 1 million rubles - Ed.). And the Mayak plant received only 150,000 for the mortar, the rest went to the gasket firms. Naturally, Mr. Pashinsky was interested in having as many of these mortars in the troops as possible.

- And what was wrong with them, sorted it out?

- According to my information, the guides in the barrels were made with a defect, therefore, when fired, the mortar burst, the mine went off in the barrel.

- Have you punished someone?

- No, all corruption scandals do not develop in Ukraine. There are no judgments and court decisions. Russia, which Ukraine loves to nod at, jails corrupt officials every week. With confiscation. There are no untouchables! And in Ukraine they are persecuted only for politics. It is not accepted for corruption.

- What will happen to Ukraine if the state of affairs continues in the next decade?

- This is my opinion, but I am afraid that Ukraine does not have this decade. And the future too. And it's not even about officials who steal and run away, but about quite prosaic things. For example, in the deterioration of infrastructure. I do not think that there will be an offensive in the Donbass in the fall, but the freezing Ukrainian cities are quite real.

India-Pakistan
What does the meeting between Taliban and Jaish-e-Mohammad mean for India
[OneIndia] The meeting between the leaders of the Jaish-e-Mohammad
...literally Army of Mohammad, a Pak-based Deobandi terror group founded by Maulana Masood Azhar in 2000, after he split with the Harkat-ul-Mujaheddin. In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
and Taliban
...Arabic for students...
has come under the radar of the Indian Intelligence agencies. The meeting that took place last week focused on India centric operations with the JeM seeking the help of the Taliban.

After the Taliban took over Afghanistan, several JeM faceless myrmidons were freed from jails and the concern for India is that these persons may be used to carry out strikes in India. While the Taliban is unlikely to spread its tentacles into Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, it could still provide support to the JeM which has its eyes focused on J&K.

The Intelligence Agencies are now focusing on social media accounts. Added to this ANI reported that the agencies are also keeping a close watch on two faceless myrmidons from Pakistain who are planning grenade attacks in Srinagar.

The Taliban following the takeover had said that Kashmir is India's internal matter and it would not interfere in it. However the JeM and Taliban share a close relationship and this was evident when it provided a safe haven during the Kandahar hijack, following which Masood Azhar
...One of the major players in Pak terrorism. In early 1994, India incarcerated him for his activities. In 1995, foreign tourists were kidnapped in Jammu and Kashmir. The kidnappers included his release among their demands. One of the hostages managed to escape but the rest were eventually killed. In 1999, he was freed by the Indian government in exchange for passengers on hijacked Indian Airlines Flight 814 that had been diverted to Kandahar. The hijackers were led by Masood Azhar's brother, Ibrahim Athar. Once he was handed over to the hijackers, they fled to Pak territory despite the fact that Islamabad had earlier stated that any of the hijackers would be jugged at the border. The Pak government had also previously indicated that Azhar would be allowed to return home since he did not face any charges there. Shortly after his release, he made a public address to an estimated 10,000 people in Karachi, firing up the rubes against America and India...
was released. The JeM and Taliban are ideologically similar in nature and hence this victory of the Taliban is quite worrisome for India.

Afghansitan watchers tell OneIndia that both the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and the JeM have played a crucial role in Afghanistan and one must note that there are nearly 1,000 of their fighters who co-exist with the Taliban.

Afghanistan has been a happy hunting ground for both these terror groups. These groups have very often regrouped on the soil of Afghanistan and this is would be a concern for India.

While the Taliban has made assurances that it would not let its soil be used as safe havens for terror groups, the question is how much can it be trusted. The Lashkar-e-Tayiba and the JeM have their primary interests in Jammu and Kashmir. National security watchers tell OneIndia that the worry is that the Taliban would let Afghanistan used by these groups who have their main interests in the Valley.

While the Taliban is unlikely to send its fighters into India the worry is that terror activities may overflow into India. Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat had said that everything that has happened in Afghanistan was anticipated. He said that only the timelines have changed and this has certainly surprised us because we were anticipating the takeover to take place a couple of months down the line. There are contingency plans in place to deal with the situation in India, he also said.

Afghanistan
Former British soldier stranded in Kabul plans escape for 400 Afghans
[Telegraph UK via Yahoo] A former British soldier stranded in Kabul is leading an escape effort for 400 Afghans across a Taliban-controlled border.

Ben Slater, 37, decided to escape Afghanistan over land seized by the Islamist group after the Foreign Office failed to approve visas for the air evacuation of himself and around 50 staff, mainly Afghan women, from the Nomad Concepts Group. Mr Slater is chairman of the group, which operates from Kabul.

A detailed plan for the escape, seen by The Telegraph, has been sent to the Foreign Office and Ministry of Defence in the hope that UK forces will assist their efforts on the ground and repatriate them when they reach their destination in a third country.

The location of Mr Slater’s convoy, and their final destination, cannot be revealed for security reasons.

He formerly served in the Royal Military Police, where he worked as a bodyguard to British ambassadors abroad.

Mr Slater has already helped evacuate dozens of people from Afghanistan on the UK’s airlift programme. But when he asked officials to organise the evacuation of himself and his staff — who are at risk of retribution from the Taliban after the West’s withdrawal — no visas were provided.

He described himself as being "massively let down" by the UK Government and has launched his own operation to save 400 Afghan nationals includes the 50 staff and himself.

Ministers have advised any British nationals or Afghans eligible for resettlement in the UK to attempt to make passage to countries that neighbour Afghanistan so they can be repatriated. But concerns have been raised that Foreign Office officials failed to adequately prepare with Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to allow people to travel to the UK.

Officials are reportedly concerned that Russia has encouraged Afghanistan’s neighbours not to accept Western citizens in transit to their home countries or to facilitate Afghan refugees seeking resettlement in Britain and elsewhere.

This is precisely why Trump kept sticking it to them despite saying nice things about Putin. He probably figured you don't want to make it too personal against a guy you gotta negotiate with. Problem is this gave the Dems room to fake hawkishness and lost Trump some national security voters. I looked at the way he whacked the Russians in Syria and thought the media portrayal of Trump as a Russian patsy was akin to its portrait of George Floyd the violent drug felon as a gentle giant.

I see the Newsom referendum as a bellwether poll. If Larry Elder wins, the Dems will get steamrolled in 2022. And Trump 2024 will just be a formality.

Senator Seeks Investigation Into Americans Reportedly Denied Entry to Kabul Airport
[Free Beacon] The ranking member on the Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations has instructed the Biden administration to hand over internal information about its decision to reportedly prevent a busload of Americans from entering Afghanistan’s airport to be evacuated from the war-torn country.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) is using his oversight authority to investigate allegations that U.S. military leaders prevented U.S. citizens and others from entering the Kabul airport as part of emergency evacuation efforts coordinated by nonprofit groups.

Johnson says he has been "receiving reports that contradict the Biden administration’s narrative and are troubling to say the least," according to an information request obtained by the Washington Free Beacon that was sent on Friday to the Biden Pentagon and State Department. This includes reports that "a group of over 400 individuals including U.S. citizens were turned away at the airport" on Thursday and told by a U.S. military commander that the "rescue is over."

Johnson is one of several congressional foreign policy leaders demanding the Biden administration turn over information related to its ongoing emergency evacuation of Americans from Afghanistan. Americans waiting to be rescued contradict the Biden administration’s claims the mission is running smoothly. The administration maintains that it can rescue every American stranded in the country by an Aug. 31 deadline set by the ruling Taliban and agreed to by the United States. It is unclear, however, how many U.S. citizens are scrambling to leave.

Final US evacuation flights leave, ending America’s 20-year Afghanistan war, equipment left behind disabled
[IsraelTimes] A few hundred US citizens are left behind as final military transports depart just before midnight; General hopes they will still be able to leave Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
-ruled country.

The United States completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan late Monday, ending America’s longest war and closing a chapter in military history likely to be remembered for colossal failures, unfulfilled promises and a frantic final exit that cost the lives of more than 180 Afghans and 13 US service members, some barely older than the war.

Hours ahead of US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass. Don't say he didn't warn us...
’s Tuesday deadline for shutting down a final airlift, and thus ending the US war, Air Force transport planes carried a remaining contingent of troops from Kabul airport. Thousands of troops had spent a harrowing two weeks protecting a hurried and risky airlift of tens of thousands of Afghans, Americans and others seeking to escape a country once again ruled by Talibs.

In announcing the completion of the evacuation and war effort. Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, said the last planes took off from Kabul airport at 3:29 p.m. Washington time, or one minute before midnight in Kabul. He said a number of American citizens, likely numbering in "the very low hundreds," were left behind, and that he believes they will still be able to leave the country.

The airport had become a US-controlled island, a last stand in a 20-year war that claimed more than 2,400 American lives.

The closing hours of the evacuation were marked by extraordinary drama. American troops faced the daunting task of getting final evacuees onto planes while also getting themselves and some of their equipment out, even as they monitored repeated threats — and at least two actual attacks — by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group’s Afghanistan affiliate. A suicide kaboom on Aug. 26 killed 13 American service members and some 169 Afghans.

The final pullout fulfilled Biden’s pledge to end what he called a "forever war" that began in response to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, that killed nearly 3,000 people in New York, Washington and rural Pennsylvania. His decision, announced in April, reflected a national weariness of the Afghanistan conflict. Now he faces condemnation at home and abroad, not so much for ending the war as for his handling of a final evacuation that unfolded in chaos and raised doubts about US credibility.

The US war effort at times seemed to grind on with no endgame in mind, little hope for victory and minimal care by Congress for the way tens of billions of dollars were spent for two decades. The human cost piled up — tens of thousands of Americans injured in addition to the dead, and untold numbers suffering psychological wounds they live with or have not yet recognized they will live with.

More than 1,100 troops from coalition countries and more than 100,000 Afghan forces and civilians died, according to Brown University’s Costs of War project.

The final US exit included the withdrawal of its diplomats, although the State Department has left open the possibility of resuming some level of diplomacy with the Taliban depending on how they conduct themselves in establishing a government and adhering to international pleas for the protection of human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...

US military disables scores of aircraft before leaving Kabul airport
[IsraelTimes] Also rendered useless were armored vehicles as well as a high-tech rocket defense system worth millions of dollars that could not be dismantled in time.

The US military disabled scores of aircraft and armored vehicles as well as a high-tech rocket defense system at the Kabul airport before it left Monday, a US general said.

Central Command head General Kenneth McKenzie said 73 aircraft that were already at Hamid Karzai International Airport were “demilitarized,” or rendered useless, by US troops before they wrapped up the two-week evacuation of the Taliban-controlled country.

“Those aircraft will never fly again… They’ll never be able to be operated by anyone,” he said.

“Most of them are non-mission capable to begin with. But certainly they’ll never be able to be flown again.”

He said the Pentagon, which built up a force of nearly 6,000 troops to occupy and operate Kabul’s airport when the airlift began on August 14, left behind around 70 MRAP armored tactical vehicles — which can cost up to $1 million apiece — that it disabled before leaving, and 27 Humvees.

The vehicles “will never be used again by anyone,” he said.

The US also left behind the C-RAM system — counter rocket, artillery, and mortar — that was used to protect the airport from rocket attacks.

The system helped fend off a five-rocket barrage from the Islamic State on Monday.

“We elected to keep those systems in operation up until the very last minute,” before the last US aircraft left, McKenzie said.

“It’s a complex procedure and time-intensive procedure to break down those systems. So we demilitarize those systems so that they’ll never be used again.”

#1  Thermite is a pyrotechnic composition of a metal powder and a metal oxide that produces an exothermic oxidation-reduction reaction known as a thermite reaction. If aluminum is the reducing agent it is called an aluminothermic reaction. Most varieties are not explosive, but can create short bursts of extremely high temperatures focused on a very small area for a short period of time. The thermite is simply a mixture of metal, often called the "fuel" and an oxidizer. Its form of action is thought very similar to other fuel-oxidizer mixtures like black powder.

Second, helicopters can fly. We should have been flying them over to India. If someone is gonna get free helicopters I'd rather India get them. Also, each helicopter could have gone out loaded with civilians and/or carrying containers filled with stuff.

Gantz says Israel to extend NIS 500 million loan to Palestinians
[[IsraelTimes] Defense Minister Benny Gantz says Israel is offering an NIS 500 million ($155 million) loan to the Paleostinian Authority in order to prevent its collapse.

This arrangement allows the Israeli government to effectively circumvent a law passed in 2018 that requires it offset the payments the PA makes to Paleostinians maimed, incarcerated

, or killed by Israel — including avowed bandidos forces of Evil — by confiscating the same amount from the Paleostinian tax revenue that Israel collects.

The half-billion shekel loan that Israel is giving to the Paleostinian will be paid off from those confiscated funds.

Gantz’s announcement came after a meeting he held the night before with PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas

, who also goes by the nom de guerre Abu Mazen. This was the first such meeting between high-level Israeli and Paleostinian officials in nearly a decade.

"I told Abu Mazen that we aren’t going anywhere and that the Paleostinians aren’t going anywhere. I went to the meeting in order to build confidence and preserve the interests of the State of Israel and the important ties we have with the Paleostinian Authority, which I believe we need to strengthen," Gantz says.

"As the Paleostinian Authority gets stronger, Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, gets weaker, and so long as it has greater governance, we will have more security and we will have to act less," he adds.

The defense minister says Israel will also recognize the status of thousands of Paleostinians currently living in the West Bank without proper documentation, most of whom came from the Gazoo

Israel was also digitizing many of its permit applications for Paleostinian in order to streamline the process and make it cheaper and easier, according to Gantz.

An additional 16,000 Paleostinians will also be permitted to work in Israel, 1,000 of them specifically in tourism, and Israel will also approve more building in Area C of the West Bank, which is under full Israeli security control, he says.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew: Biden 'Cognitively Impaired or He's Purposely Harming the Country'
Well, he's a democrat, so...
[BREITBART] In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Thursday, Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) blasted President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The guy who lost Afghanistan, aka Biden's Bungle...
and his chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, lamenting the recent decline of America and deeming the president "cognitively impaired" and/or "purposely harming the country," while urging moderate Democrats to follow his lead and join the Republicans to hold this administration responsible.

The Republican congressman began with harsh words for the current administration.

"I am so tired of being disgusted with what is going on in our country in general, but with this administration, with this Congress, it’s been mistake after mistake," he said.

"There’s nothing at all in what they do that reminds me of American exceptionalism or Americanism, and the same here," he added. "The America I know is strong and powerful and brave, courageous and smart."

Afghanistan Withdrawal:

Regarding the U.S.’s current reliance on the terrorist Taliban
...Arabic for students...
for the safety of Americans seeking to leave Afghanistan, Van Drew slammed the "completely terrible and totally nonfunctional plan" employed by the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us...

#1  These graphs have been normalized to population size, I wish that was the standard presentation (cases, or hospitalizations, or deaths, per 100,000 population or such.) It looks to me like if we similarly normalized the current case rate wave height for the US it would come in at 3 times the rate in non-Ivermectin Africa. (Israel would be double that again.) There has to be a difference in data collection, validity etc. but those are huge apparent differences.

#6  Not just river blindness. Ivermectin, together with a couple of other drugs, is widely used for a large spectrum of infestations. It's especially useful in children, since heavy helminth infestations can cause malnutrition and permanent harm. "Schoolchildren are an especially appropriate, cost-effective target for mass treatment. Treating children has been shown to reduce transmission to untreated members of the community."

WRT the graphs, the daily death rate in (e.g. Liberia) is a couple orders of magnitude higher than the rates listed. I'd guess that total death counts might be within shouting distance of reality, but COVID death counts--not so much. I'd also guess that the seasonal variation in malaria deaths would swamp the COVID variations, so we might not learn much from the total daily death rates either.

It would be useful to compare cohorts, but I'm not sure if death rates by age are available.

Afghanistan
Wait – the Taliban Offered Control of Kabul to US Forces...And We Turned Them Down?
[Townhall] Well, the fiasco that erupted concerning the safe evacuation of American citizens from Afghanistan could have been much less chaotic. The Washington Post had a lengthy piece Sunday detailing the fall of Kabul. It circles back to everything you already know. The Taliban were racing toward reconquering the country. The Afghan government was totally aloof. And everyone in the Biden orbit was on vacation when calamity hit. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani dithered on getting his act together, more concerned about the digitization of the economy than the Taliban threat. The publication noted that he agreed to step aside days before the Taliban took control of Kabul. The US assumed he would be there to help with the transitional government that included the Taliban. Instead, he fled, but here's the real issue.

Buried mid-way through the piece is the Taliban offering the US to take control of not just the airport but all of Kabul. Chaos was engulfing the city as news of the government's collapse spread. Security was a priority. The Taliban offered the US to take control of the city, and we turned them down (via WaPo):
...
The result of this decision by President Biden & Gen. McKenzie is that Khalil Haqqani—an al Qaeda-linked terrorist with a $5 million U.S. bounty on his head—was placed in charge of security of Kabul.

#2  1. The WaPo today had an editorial (not an op-ed) that was highly critical of Biden.

2. I doubt the US could have controlled Kabul with the 6k troops that were, I think, available at that time. There were hundreds of ISIS prisoners released on Aug 5 or so and these would have tried as much as they could to take out any US troops they saw.

Posted by: Lord Garth || 08/31/2021 17:37 Comments || Top||

#3  Taliban didn't know how many defenders were in the city. That most likely assumed we had more or they wouldn't have made the offer. Even a few days probably would have helped.

ISIS prisoners should have been kept until after the last American was out. they could act as hostages for good behavior.

Taliban Cuts Telecom Service to Panjshir
[TOLONEWS] Local residents in Panjsir province, the only province that has not fallen to the Taliban

, say that the Taliban has cut telecommunication networks in the province.

Panjshir residents say that the lack of phone and internet networks is causing serious challenges.

"They have cut off telecommunication services in Panjshir for the last two days. Panjshir people are facing challenges in this regard and cannot get in touch with their relatives living in other parts of the country," said Gul Haidar, a Panjshir resident.

Mustafa, a Kabul resident, says that his relatives and friends live in Panjshir but he cannot contact them. "All my relatives and friends are in Panjshir. Unfortunately, on one hand the road to Panjshir is closed and on the other hand the communication networks are not working," he said.

Panjshir residents added that the Taliban has closed roads and other routes leading to Panjshir valley and that food prices have skyrocketed in the province.

"They (Taliban) claim that 80 percent of Panjshir's problem has been solved and the people have no fight with us. But they have closed the road for the people," said Jumadin, a Panjshir resident.

The Taliban has yet to comment.

Ahmad Massoud, son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, leads the resistance against the Taliban in Panjshir.

So far both sides have insisted on solving the problem via dialogue, and in the past two weeks neither side has attacked the other.

However,

Three Cartel Gunmen Incinerated During Border City Shootouts in Mexico
[BREITBART] Three cartel button men died in a fierce shootout with authorities when their vehicle caught fire and their bodies were incinerated. That shootout is one of several that took place during recent days in the Mexican border city of Matamoros, Tamaulipas.A fiery
...a single two-syllable word carrying connotations of both incoherence and viciousness. A fiery delivery implies an audience of rubes and yokels, preferably forming up into a mob...
shootout took place this week when a group of Gulf Cartel button men clashed with Tamaulipas state coppers on the west side of Matamoros. Following a brief exchange of gunfire, the three button men riding in an SUV attempted to flee. The group sped away along the highway known as Sendero Nacional.

Police officers chased the button men and exchanged gunfire during a rolling shootout. The clash ended when the button men crashed into the wall of a manufacturing plant and their vehicle quickly became engulfed in flames. By the time local firefighters responded and put out the flames, the three button men had been partially incinerated.

Since that shootout, Tamaulipas state authorities engaged in several festivities and shootouts with Gulf Cartel button men in Matamoros. This led to several arrests and left button men and coppers maimed. Security conditions in Matamoros worsened in recent weeks as button men expanded their extortion operations. They also turned to armed robberies and carjackings — similar to the current trends in Reynosa. The escalation in violence in Matamoros is also linked to an apparent internal conflict within the leaders of that faction.

As Breitbart Texas reported, over the summer, the Matamoros faction of the Gulf Cartel had announced they were stopping a long-term pie fight with the faction in Reynosa in an attempt to restore peace to the region. Despite such claims, both border cities continue to suffer from violent mostly peaceful crimes at the hands of the criminal organization.

[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Amid the Afghanistan crisis, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) promoted a fundraiser on Wednesday for an organization that has ties to Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, and the Taliban

The Democrat congresswoman retweeted a post from Khaled Beydoun, a critical race theorist, which urged followers to donate to a non-profit organization called Baitulmaal. The organization's leader, Mazen Mokhtar, has reportedly worked with the Taliban and other terrorist groups.

Baitulmaal fundraises for Hamas and distributes aid to the "families of deaders of the Paleostinian people," according to the Washington Free Beacon.

The notorious "Squad" member has a history of antisemitic behavior and expressing support for terrorist groups.

Within days after being sworn into Congress, she hosted pro-Hezbollah activist, Abbas Hamideh, who repeatedly compares Israelis to Nazis.

In December 2020, the Michigan representative retweeted an antisemitic post for the International Day of Solidarity with the Paleostinian People, calling for the destruction of the State of Israel, which was deleted after facing backlash.

According to a 2020 analysis by the Middle East Forum, Baitulmaal works directly with Hamas Lions of Islam in the Gazoo

Earlier this year, the Paleostinian government paid $42,000 to the family of a Paleostinian terrorist that stabbed two Israelis to death. Two others were maimed in the attack, including a two-year-old child, Free Beacon reports.

Congresswoman Tlaib demands Israel release body of alleged Palestinian attacker

[IsraelTimes] Without mentioning Mai Afana’s attempted June assault on soldiers, Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib slams Israeli policy of holding onto bodies of assailants

Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib called for Israel to return the body of a woman who was killed while she attempted to kill Israeli soldiers.

In a Twitter thread on Saturday, Tlaib, one of Israel’s harshest critics in Congress, slammed Israel for its policy of holding onto the bodies of assailants who are killed during an attack.

"Meet Mai Afana’s mother, Khuloud, who is fighting to be able to bury her daughter & begin her healing," wrote Tlaib, a Paleostinian American. "Mai was a mother, loving daughter & successful PhD student. She was killed by the Israeli government last June. Israel won’t release her body to her family."

Attached to the tweet was a photo of Afana’s mother holding up a poster of her daughter.

Afana was killed on June 16. The Israeli military said at the time that she had rammed her car into a West Bank checkpoint near Jerusalem and then, holding a knife, had rushed the soldiers at the checkpoint. An Israeli soldier was lightly injured in the attack.

Israel routinely holds bodies of assailants as a means of bargaining for live Israeli captives and the bodies of Israelis held by Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, in the Gazoo

Caribbean-Latin America
Caribbean Sea is Mandarin for ‘Chinese Lake’
I was in Antigua and Dominica last week on a Caribbean cruise. Lovely places, with strict restrictions for getting off the ship. The tour guide on Antigua told us how the Chinese were helping out their small, impoverished little island, independent since 1981. The Chinese finished a new airport there a few years ago and are building several new facilities, including a new hospital. There may be a few Chinese supervisors on these projects, we were told, but the bulk of the work would be done by locals. A few minutes later, I saw several oriental workers doing apparent manual labor.

Someone asked about the white streetlights with little turbines on top, all along miles of highway. Provided by the Chinese, but not all were spinning in the breeze. Perhaps typical Chinese quality?

The next day, we toured Dominica, (independent since 1978) and drove past the "Dominica-China Friendship Hospital", a large, three-story facility. The Chinese will also assist in financing Dominica's international airport. I bet the runways will be long enough to accommodate Chinese jet fighters.

Maybe the Chinese are looking for opportunities for single men and tourists, or perhaps the ‘Belt and Road' initiative will someday turn the Caribbean Sea into a Chinese lake.

I discovered I could read more about these projects on the interwebs. Take a look at the map.

It's not that much money. They don't have teachers' protection rackets masquerading as unions there. No racial quotas for incompetents, either.

Re the projects - the Chinese are hoping to do the same thing that car dealerships do to make a profit - they get you with the fine print, which the leader who signs it agrees to because of a fat deposit in his new Panamanian bank account. His successor can similarly be paid off to abide by the agreement's terms - after all, it's only taxpayer money at stake, not his newly established secret bank account.

#5  You know all the chicanery European firms used to get up to in terms of paying off local nabobs in these locales? Chinese companies are doing this with CCP connivance. With China becoming a significant market for some of these countries, Beijing has the ability to tank their economies in the short term, thereby making local rulers wary of incurring its displeasure, lest their domestic rivals take advantage of temporary economic discontent to win office in their place.

Florida Redistricting Has Dems in a Panic Over Losing the House
[PJMEDIA] Florida redistricting after the 2020 census, plus the state’s rapid population growth, will help redraw the country’s election map next year.

POLITICO reports that "Florida has gained nearly 3 million people since the last redistricting process a decade ago," and that expansion has "set the stage for a remaking of its political lines headed into a 2022 election likely to determine control of the U.S. House."

The paper’s Gary Fineout and Matt Dixon remind readers that redistricting "will be controlled by Republicans, who already hold 16 of the state’s 27 congressional districts." Democrats worry that "the new maps will only further banish them in Florida’s political desert."

Florida will gain a 28th seat in the next Congress, not to mention a 30th Electoral College vote in the 2024 presidential election. That nicely matches the losses suffered by New York State, and ironically enough, New Yorkers fled their own COVID lockdowns for Florida.

The seeming miracle here — at least to this Coloradan’s eyes — is that the faster Florida grows, the redder it gets.

It isn’t due to redistricting dirty tricks in Florida, either, even though you can expect Dems to scream bloody murder about them anyway. Governor Ron DeSantis revealed this spring that an "overwhelming" number of new residents are registering R instead of D.

Afghanistan
White flag over the Green Zone: the embassy quarter in Kabul is empty
Direct translation via Google Translate. Edited.
By Aleksandr Kots

[KP] The Green Zone is the safest area in Afghanistan. Here are the diplomatic missions of Western states, government buildings, the presidential palace.

The quarter is surrounded by tall fences, ornate checkpoints with powerful barriers. Yesterday, everything was in full swing here - thousands of Afghans, who worked in the embassies of NATO countries, pounded the doorstep in the hope of leaving the country. In words, the Taliban, of course, declare a general amnesty, but who knows what will hit them in the head when no one can protect these people.

It's completely empty here today. There is a huge queue just to the bank office - financial institutions have finally begun to open. But in order not to bring down the frail economy with frozen accounts, the limit on cash withdrawals is set - up to $200 per week.

We brake at the main entrance to the "Green Zone." A lonely woman in a burqa knocks on the window. In her hands are laminated documents, apparently indicating that she worked for one of the Western diplomatic missions. So, she has the right to evacuate. I just spread my hands. A joint post is 50 meters away. Next to the American Humvee and the French armored car are two road police officers and a dozen Taliban. Law enforcement officers returned to service, only removing the republican flag of Afghanistan from their chevrons. A white Taliban flag now flies over the Green Zone.

The militants, as owners, are leading us along a concrete security corridor -- 10 meters wide and 5 meters high. Embassy of Saudi Arabia, France, and behind it are government buildings and the presidential palace. This corridor was once the target of their terrorist attacks. Today they claim that they are guarding Western diplomatic missions awaiting the return of diplomats.

“We are ready to ensure their safety and continue cooperation in all areas,” the bearded man near the French embassy assures me. Our leadership says that nothing threatens foreign diplomats in our country. It is necessary that they take an example from the Russian embassy, from the Russians who have remained and continue to work normally.

At the entrance of the British Embassy, a picture of the flight is read. There are containers with keys on the counter, some of them are lying on the floor. In front of the entrance there are open cells, where, apparently, mobile phones were handed over. There are badges on the floor with the names of Afghans who worked for the British.

"We do not pursue them. The gardeners still come to do their work, the bosses told us not to touch any of them," the Taliban fighter assures me.

"And if the bosses say that they are collaborators and deserve punishment," I asked.

The Talib shrugged indifferently, patting the machine gun with his hand.

Not that America opened itself up in Kabul, showing the world something unexpected. It is well known about the cynicism of her foreign policy and readiness for the sake of her interests to walk on other people's bones. But the US withdrawal from Afghanistan will go down in history. No sooner had the dust settled from the August 26 terrorist attack at the capital's airport, which killed 13 American Marines and one and a half hundred unarmed civilians, as a new explosion shook Kabul.
Doubts exist as to how all 150 civilians died.

The Taliban conducts anti-terrorist operations

[Chernovec] 25 dead ISIS Bad Guys in eastern Afghanistan

The situation sounds exotic, it looks too. Flying detachments of the movement in pickup trucks, with machine guns and grenade launchers drove through Kabul all night, looking for ISIS participants who claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack at the airport.

While urging the residents of the city not to go out and stay at home. Plus, the Taliban expanded the security perimeter, making it impossible to illegally climb into the airport.

As part of the anti-terrorist operation, the anti-terrorist unit neutralized three ISIS terrorists. This is our brave new world.

The Taliban have also launched large-scale operations against IS in eastern Afghanistan. IS lost 25 people killed, the Taliban managed to capture three checkpoints and repel the ISIS counteroffensive, losing only one person killed.

Blinken vows efforts to help Americans and others to leave Afghanistan
[JPost] Secretary of State Antony Blinken vowed on Monday after the US military completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan that the Biden administration will keep up "relentless" efforts to help Americans, Afghans and others leave the country if they choose to do so.

Speaking at the State Department, Blinken said less than 200 Americans were believed to have remained in Afghanistan.

Head of Tunisia's Qalb Tounes Party Held in Algeria
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Liberal party leader Nabil Karoui, runner-up in Tunisia’s 2019 presidential election that saw Kais Saied elected, has been arrested in Algeria along with his MP brother, media reports said Monday.

The privately owned Radio Mosaique FM said border police arrested the Qalb Tounes party chief and his brother Ghazi Karoui in the Tebessa region of northeast Algeria.

Senior party official Oussama Khelifi told news hounds "official information" was still being awaited.

The arrest of the brothers has not yet been confirmed by the authorities in either country.

"We have not heard from Karoui for a week," Khelifi said.

Riadh al-Nouioui, front man for Kasserine court in central Tunisia, told AFP that "the authorities are investigating two people suspected of helping the Karoui brothers escape" to Algeria.

Nabil Karoui founded the private Tunisian channel Nessma TV, which is partly owned by Italia’s former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.

Karoui has been under investigation since 2017 in a money laundering and tax evasion case.

He was arrested in 2019 and spent more than a month in prison at the height of the presidential election campaign.

He was freed but rearrested last December and spent six months in pre-trial detention before being let out again in June 2021.

Karoui’s presidential campaign focused on the fight against poverty and his opposition to Islamist politics despite allying himself with the Islamist-inspired Ennahda party.

He lost out to Saied, a retired law professor and political newcomer, as the electorate rejected the political class that had ruled since the 2011 revolution.

On July 25, Saied dismissed parliament, sacked the prime minister and granted himself sweeping powers, invoking the constitution as justification.

Since then, there has been a wave of travel bans and house arrests targeting parliamentarians, magistrates and businessmen in an anti-corruption purge.

Iraq
Six Iraqis on Death Row Executed, Three for 'Terrorism'
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Six Iraqis sentenced to death, three for "terrorism", were hanged Monday in a prison in southern Iraq, a medical source told AFP.

The source said the hangings took place in Nasiriyah prison, where death row prisoners are held.

Those not executed for "terrorism" were sentenced over "criminal cases".

Rights group Amnesia Amnesty International says it recorded more than 45 executions in Iraq last year, including many of people accused of belonging to the ISIS group.

Since Baghdad officially declared victory over ISIS in 2017, Iraqi courts have sentenced hundreds to death for crimes perpetrated by the holy warriors who had set up a so-called "caliphate" in territory seized in Iraq and Syria in 2014.

Only a small proportion of the sentences have been carried out, as they must be approved by the president.

Barham Salih, who has held the post since 2018, is known to be personally against capital punishment.

According to an AFP tally, at least 14 people sentenced for "terrorism" have been executed in Iraq since the start of the year, all at the Nasiriyah prison.

Earlier this month, a man who murdered a senior Iraqi official in broad daylight was sentenced to death amid revulsion over the government’s failure to halt a wave of liquidations.

In January, an official from Iraq’s presidency told AFP more than 340 execution orders "for terrorism or criminal acts" were ready to be carried out.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel Provides Intel to Western Countries on Extremism Financing
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu scaled back Israel's intelligence cooperation with the United States when President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. An incredibly corrupt version of Jar-Jar Binks, only well into his dotage. The dumbass who abandoned Afghanistan....
took office earlier this year.

Sources in Tel Aviv said that Naftali Bennett's government decided to cancel Netanyahu's instructions and release its information on sensitive issues, including extremism financing.

The sources noted that the Israeli National Security Council held numerous meetings with their US counterpart last week and other secret meetings with US and European officials.

They explained that the intel provided by the Israelis relates to Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and its affiliates and all terrorist activities in the region.

The meetings also discussed the hard boy organizations in Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and the Americas. Israel provided information about the funding of these organizations. It asserted that the "follow the money" proven has proven its effectiveness in combating these organizations, so Israel is pursuing it through high-tech means and cyber-attacks.

That changed after the election of Biden, who promised to restore the nuclear agreement with Iran, which Israel so vigorously opposed.

Netanyahu even curtailed intelligence sharing with the United States in the spring because he did not trust the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know...
The risk of such dependence became clear in April when Israel set off explosives at Iran's Natanz nuclear plant.

Netanyahu ordered his national security officials to reduce the information they conveyed to Washington about planned operations in Iran, US and Israeli officials said.

On the day of the attack, the Mossad gave the US less than two hours' notice, according to the officials, far too short a time for Washington to assess the operation or ask Israel to call it off.

ISIS Attacks Russian-Backed Militia in Deir Ezzor
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] A Russian-backed Fifth Corps militia was attacked by unknown assailants in the desert of the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, coinciding with intense Russian air raids on ISIS positions.

Ein al-Euphrates network reported that the Fifth Corps established a checkpoint near its military point in al-Masrib, west of Deir Ezzor, but unknown elements targeted the point with two RPGs, injuring three members.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported a comprehensive attack of ISIS cells on posts and positions of regime forces in the al-Masrab desert in western Deir Ezzor. Five Russian fighters have taken part in the combat, but no casualties have been reported.

SOHR documented the death of three fighters from the National Defense Forces (NDF) due to the earth-shattering kaboom of an old landmine planted earlier by ISIS in al-Duwayr village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout the long-awaited message arrived. They quickly got to work with their decoder rings...
according to the Euphrates Post, Deir Ezzor witnessed increased displacement movement over the past few days, whether from areas under the control of the Assad regime or the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The website said it was the most significant displacement in the region in years due to forced conscription, unemployment, and the deterioration of living and economic conditions.

The Post news hound stated that the National Defense Forces in Ras al-Ain in al-Hasaka countryside arrested dozens of young men from Deir Ezzor province fleeing towards the north of Syria.

They were placed in prisons and their families were asked to pay between $500 and $100 in exchange for their release.

IDF chief threatens response as Gazans riot on border for 3rd night

[IsraelTimes] ‘Calm and security will allow an improvement in civil conditions, but rioting and terror will lead to strong response or operation,’ Aviv Kohavi says, as hundreds gather in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Hundreds of Paleostinians demonstrated on the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel on Monday for a third straight night of riots, as the head of the Israel Defense Forces warned that the army would not hesitate to respond to any violence.

Gazooks from so-called "night confusion units" set tires alight and rolled them toward soldiers stationed along the frontier, and lobbed improvised explosives, in a repeat of violence seen along the border the previous two nights.

As Israeli troops responded, the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,-run health ministry in Gaza said three Paleostinians were maimed from IDF live fire and three more suffered tear gas inhalation.

One of the Hamas-linked groups behind the riots said one of its members had been seriously injured by live fire from the IDF.

There was no immediate comment from the IDF and no reports of injuries on the Israeli side.

The "night confusion units" behind the border riots do not officially tie themselves to Hamas, though their activities could not take place without the approval of the terror group that rules the Strip.

The groups, which are affiliated with various terror factions, have said that the nightly riots on the border will continue until at least Thursday, starting at around 8 p.m. each evening.

Speaking to defense officials Monday night, IDF chief Aviv Kohavi warned that Israel would not tolerate the border riots.

in his top national security advisers before the horrible bombing, they were making this sound like a smashing success, but you heard what Secretary Blinken just said."

Karl said, "They have been describing something that isn’t reality. This has been an incredible airlift. More than 100,000 people evacuated, but what a disaster. Clearly, Thursday was the worst day of the Biden presidency, and we don’t really know, Martha, how bad it really is. We know the disaster that has unfolded. Now the big question is, does Afghanistan once again become a safe haven for terrorist attacks on U.S. interests around the world or at home?"

Raddatz said, "Which is, of course, why they said they were getting out. that was solved."

Karl said, "Maybe part of the reason why Afghanistan had not been such is there was a military presence in Afghanistan. But now, we will have this over the horizon capability. But the bottom line is the terror threat has increased, and our ability to combat it has decreased."

Today, with the great collapse, similar sentiments are being yelled out at gas stations: "strangers" are filling their tanks in "our" stations, using "our" gas.

...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan...
’s mistakes.

Acosta said that what was needed, instead, was national unity — not holding Biden politically accountable:

It is often said that war is hell, but Thursday felt like one of the darkest corners of that hell. These fallen U.S. service members gave their lives evacuating women and kiddies. They were on a mission to end America’s engagement in Afghanistan with some measure of compassion and dignity. They represent the best of this country. If there were ever a moment for some sense of national unity, this was it. And yet in the hours that followed, the divisions in this country were all too apparent. Appearing on Fox, former President Donald Trump immediately pounced on the attack in Kabul ...

At a coronavirus briefing in March 2020, during the depths of the national economic shutdown, Acosta accused Trump of having downplayed the coronavirus pandemic, reading past quotes at him. (Trump’s response: he did not want to sow panic.)

A week ago, Acosta and a guest accused Trump of wanting his supporters to die — after Trump recommended they be vaccinated.

Germany Arrests Woman Accused of Helping ISIS Group
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] A German woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of helping the ISIS group by backing efforts to transfer money to bad boys, prosecutors said.

The suspect, identified only as Denise S., was arrested in Geretsried, near Munich and faces possible charges of supporting a foreign terrorist organization. She is accused of supporting Aymen A.-J., an Iraqi man who was arrested in Germany earlier this year.

Federal prosecutors said that the woman's main job was to establish contact with female ISIS members and keep them up-to-date on upcoming money transfers.

She is accused of calling for donations for an ISIS member who was supposed to be freed from a Kurdish refugee camp, to enable her return to the bad boy group, and of setting up an account to receive donations.

She also allegedly had Aymen A.-J. transfer 200 euros ($235) to an ISIS member in Idlib, Syria.

Afghanistan
Al Qaeda/Bin Laden's Arms Chief Amin ul-Haq RETURNS to Afghanistan after 20 years
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A close aide of Osama bin Laden has returned to his home in Afghanistan after 20 years of US occupation just hours until American forces finish their evacuation from the war-torn country by President Joe Biden's deadline, a video purports to show.

Amin ul-Haq, a top Al Qaeda arms supplier, returned to his hometown in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province on Monday just over two weeks after the Taliban completed its lightening fast offensive to take over nearly all of the country.

Ul-Haq headed bin Laden's security when he was occupying the Tora Bora cave complex. The two men escaped together when US forces attacked the complex, according to NBC.

The Al Qaeda leader was killed by US forces in Pakistan in 2011.

In the video, a car carrying ul-Haq is seen driving through a checkpoint amid a small crowd.

At one point the car stops and ul-Haq rolls down the window. Apparent admirers crowd the vehicle's passenger side, with men taking turns grasping and even kissing the top Al Qaeda associate's hand.

Two men take a few steps forward along with the slow-moving car in order to take a next to ul-Haq.

The car is then followed by a procession of vehicles carrying heavily-armed fighters, some flying the Taliban's flag.

Ul-Haq had been a member of Hizb-i Islami Khalis, one of seven groups that fought against the Soviet Union's occupation of Afghanistan.

He was detained by Pakistan's intelligence agency in 2008 but released in 2011, according to the Daily Telegraph - roughly half a year after bin Laden was killed.

'Amin al-Haq had been arrested mistakenly, therefore, the police failed to prove any charge of his association with Osama bin Laden and the court set him free,' a security source told the outlet.

Possible Terrorist Attack In Garland, Texas, USA
BLUF: Wannabe masked jihadi Emron Ali Rashid murdered his Lyft driver in one suburb of Dallas, stole her car and drove it to the police station in another suburb of Dallas, where he shot a few warning shots in the lobby before being gunned down by by the police on duty.
[MSN] Garland Police identified the Lyft driver who was killed Sunday, August 29, in Garland, shortly before a masked gunman was shot at Plano Police Headquarters.

The driver, Isabella Lewis, 26, of Garland, was shot and killed after she dropped off or picked up someone who had requested a ride, according to Garland Police said.

The shooter in Garland and Plano has been identified as Emron Ali Rashid.

He was the one Lewis went to pick up for a ride.

There was a note left in the Lewis’ car, that led to a possible motive for the crime, authorities said, but did not elaborate.
"Dirka dirka jihad jihad. Allahu Akhbar!"
Authorities: "We'll probably never know his motivation. It's unclear. Possibly White Supremacy"

Matthew DeSarno, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Dallas, said the Dallas FBI has joined in the investigation to see what led to the investigation and if it was an act of terrorism.

"Rashid may have been inspired by a foreign terrorist organization to commit these acts," DeSarno said.

He was the subject of a counterterrorism investigation from 2010 to 2013.

At this point, we do not believe the suspect was provided assistance by others or that others were involved in the incident," said DeSarno.

There is no indication Rashid and Lewis new each other.

Just before noon on Sunday, Garland police responded to a gunshot wound call in the 400 block of Forest Gate Drive.

Police say the caller stated someone was shot and the victim’s vehicle was stolen.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

"She was either going there to pick up a client or going there to drop off a client, we’re still kind of unsure why she was at that location but it was a hired ride," said Matt Pesta of the Garland Police Department.

A spokesperson for Lyft has since released the following statement:

"We are heartbroken by this incident and our hearts are with the driver’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Safety is fundamental to Lyft and we are ready to assist law enforcement."

Minutes later, at approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to a complaint of a man "behaving erratically" in front of the Plano Police Department.

Prior to their arrival, the suspect entered the department’s lobby. And upon entering the lobby a second time, officials say he displayed a handgun, raised it and then fired it in the direction of a civilian police employee who was assisting a visitor.

Both the employee and visitor took shelter in a secure room off the lobby of the department, police said. At that time, two police officers reportedly responded from inside the building and exchanged fire with the suspect.

The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital where his current status is unknown, police said.

During their investigation, Plano police found the stolen Lyft driver’s vehicle outside the department.

No police employees or visitors were injured.

"Things kind of appear what they are, but we still need to link them with evidence, to be able to make that solid connection," Pesta said. "It’s just a sad deal all the way around. I mean, let’s face it, a life was lost today, and there could have been many more if it wasn’t for the heroic actions of [the] Plano Police Department."

Plano Mayor John Muns released the following statement:

"What could have been a horrific tragedy was avoided, thanks to the swift and effective action of our Plano police officers... I applaud the response of the officers who responded who stopped a dangerous situation from taking a deadly turn."

In this their youth will experience the conflicted self-identification that comes from being a "'tween" we first assessed after 9/11 as we looked at Jihadist movements in the US Muslim communities. Youth who face not feeling like they belong or are accepted hers as Americans, but who cannot feel they belong in the nation of their parents either, "between" cultures, and adrift longing for a connection. The fertile field of the Jihadi propagandist and recruiter.
Complicating this will be multi-generational anger over the whiplash of emotional dislocations and anger over the miasma that Afghanistan now suffers yet again. This is a breeding ground for terrorism, and the reintroduction of the lovely tactic of IED and car-bombing, skills well learned in former homeland homes. Our regret for the entire post Tora-Bora military strategy will last for a very long time, as will the devastating reminder these remnants of a failed nation building strategy will be for a generation.

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. ... a Yemeni governate located in the southwestern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. It is the stomping grounds on the southern secessionist al-Harak movement
province, Yemeni source said on Sunday.

The attack took place during morning training and is the second to target the base in as many years.

President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi vowed that the Houthis will "pay dearly" for the attack.

"They will be held accountable for every crime they commit against the Yemeni people," he added, according to the Saba news agency.

"The Yemeni people’s battle against the Persian agenda in Yemen will continue and it will soon be victorious," he pledged.

"The sacrifices of the people will not be in vain. The Houthi’ attempts to drag Yemen back to a hateful past will fail. The people will defeat them and establish their state," he continued.

Hadi urged the people to stand united against the Houthi agenda, saying anyone supporting them is being deluded. He called on them to show solidarity and be more vigilant and wary against any hostile Houthi acts.

The call for solidarity appears to be a message to end the dispute with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) - the interim government’s partner in rule - in order to implement the military and security aspects of the Riyadh Agreement.

The latest figures from Yemen showed that 44 people were killed and 60 maimed in the al-Anad attack.

The majority of the maimed were being treated at hospitals in Lahj, which is located some 60kms from Aden, the interim capital. Other casualties were being treated in Aden.

Governor of Lahj and commander of the 17th infantry unit, Ahmed Turki vowed to retaliate to the Houthi attack.

"The response will be on the battlefield, not by using inhumane means that are adopted by the Houthis," he said as he visited the maimed at hospital.

Military front man said the Houthis struck the military base with three ballistic missiles and armed drones.

Witnesses said the attack was launched from the neighboring Taiz province, where some regions are still held by the militias.

The Houthis have not grabbed credit for the attack in what observers said was an attempt to raise suspicions between the government and STC, similar to what happened in the past when camps in Aden were attacked.

In 2019, the Houthis said they launched a dronezap on al-Anad during a military parade, with medics and government sources saying at the time at least six loyalists were killed -- including a high-ranking intelligence official.

Observers said the Houthi attacks are a message that they are not seeking peace in Yemen, citing also their ongoing refusal of nationwide ceasefire proposals by the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
and international mediators.

rebels launched intensified attacks against the country's oil-rich province of Marib, a military official told Xinhua.

The local military source said on condition of anonymity that "the Houthi militia began launching coordinated and intensified armed attacks against various areas of the government-controlled province of Marib."

More than 11 members of the pro-government Yemeni forces were killed and several others injured following the assaults, he said.

He confirmed that the pro-government forces backed by local tribal fighters managed to repulse most of the Houthi attacks, and that the group's button men made limited progress in Sirwah district.

The Yemeni official indicated that the battles are still going on between the two warring sides, on most of the fighting fronts in Marib, various heavy weapons are used, while Saudi Arabia

No information, however, was given about casualties among the fighters of the Houthi rebel group during the exchange of fire with pro-government forces in Marib.

The Houthis began in February a major offensive on Marib in an attempt to seize control of the oil-rich province, the government's last northern stronghold.

Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
appears to have restarted the operation of its main nuclear reactor used to produce weapons fuels, the U.N. atomic agency said, as the North openly threatens to enlarge its nuclear arsenal amid long-dormant nuclear diplomacy with the United States.

The annual report by the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency refers to a 5-megawatt reactor at the North's main nuclear complex in Yongbyon, north of Pyongyang. The reactor produces plutonium, one of the two key ingredients used to build nuclear weapons along with highly enriched uranium.

Pakistani Military Opens Fire on Afghan Refugees at Border, Kills 6
[BREITBART] Pak troops opened fire on a group of Afghan civilians attempting to cross into Pakistain from Afghanistan on Friday, killing at least six people, Pajhwok Afghan News reported.

The incident reportedly occurred at the Torkham border crossing, a major trade and travel corridor linking Afghanistan and Pakistain. Torkham is the name of the Pak city on the eastern side of the border crossing, while the western side of the port pertains to the Afghan province of Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
An unknown number of Pak soldiers "opened fire" on an unknown number of Afghan civilians at Torkham on August 27 "when they rushed towards the crossing gate and wanted to enter [the] Pak side," according to Pajhwok Afghan News.

"Some sources confirmed six people were killed and two others injured in the incident," the news outlet revealed, adding that provincial officials in Nangarhar "have not spoken about the incident."

Pakistain’s federal government ordered the total closure of the Torkham crossing this week to avoid an influx of Afghan refugees fleeing the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
terror group’s recent takeover of Afghanistan, an unnamed Pak border official told the U.K.’s Telegraph newspaper on August 26.

"We have closed the border on the government’s directives because Pakistain cannot afford to house more refugees. Pakistain is already home to three million Afghans," the border official said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Rahi: Corruption Has Spread in Lebanese Society
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi said Sunday he regrets that the Lebanese society has become corrupt, and called on the security services to close illegal border crossings and prevent smuggling.

Rahi was hinting at the latest security raids on hidden fuel and diesel tanks amid the severe fuel shortages that have crippled hospitals and caused long power cuts, and the tons of medicine that have been hoarded at warehouses throughout the country.

"I encourage security apparatuses to expand their raids to include every person monopolizing medicine and basic goods," he said.

The Patriarch also called on concerned security officials to close all illegal border crossings and prevent the smuggling of goods from Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady human sacrifice days of Baal Moloch. In 2020 Hezbollahblew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate faci8lity exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that...
to Syria.

Rahi spoke during Sunday’s mass in his summer residence in Diman.

He called for expediting the formation of a rescue government that is up to the challenges, and that is neutral, non-partisan, and includes highly qualified people.

On the Aug. 4, 2020 Beirut port explosion, Rahi said he is against "politicizing or paralyzing the investigation," saying "no official should be exempted from being questioned by the judiciary over the blast."

The Patriarch said even President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
had told the country's public prosecutor he was ready to give a statement about the earth-shattering kaboom.

"What has become with the investigation into the port explosion crime? What is the fate of the summons issued against deputies, ministers and the head of security and military apparatuses?" he asked.
Rahi was hinting to the subpoena issued by Judge Tarek Bitar for caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab after the latter failed to show up for questioning in the case.

Bitar, leading the inquiry into the huge explosion, issued requests in July to question Diab and other brass hats, including former ministers, who were charged by his predecessor with negligence over the blast.

However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the subpoena drove dismay and negative reactions from former prime ministers and Dar al-Fatwa.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch cautiously raised his hat over the edge of the horse trough on the end of a stick......
Metropolitan Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch for the Archdiocese of Beirut Elias Audi wondered in his sermon on Sunday if the concerned authorities have held accountable any of the persons who had hidden fuel tanks or illegally stored medicines.

The Bishop urged the Lebanese to be loyal and supportive to one another and to their country, saying: "Love your brethren who need you most, and do not abuse them, imitating the unjust, who only care about themselves by securing what they eat, what they drink, and what they store."

Border policeman dies from Gaza riot shooting injury
[Jpost] Border Police St.-Sgt. Barel Hadaria Shmueli died on Monday, succumbing to gunshot wounds inflicted on him by a Palestinian gunman during the Gaza border riots on Saturday, August 21."Today we parted with the child who sacrificed his life to protect us and be the best man he can be," Shmueli’s grieving parents said in a statement. "Barel, we may be saying goodbye but we will never forget you. It was a privilege to know you and a shame we didn’t have more time."

"The medical staff fought for Shmueli’s life as he underwent several surgeries. In spite of all the efforts and due to the complex nature of the injury sustained, we were forced to determine his death," a statement from Soroka read.

Shmueli was a native of Beer Ya’akov in central Israel.

The 21-year-old sniper was in the special Yamas undercover Mistaravim Border Police Unit, and according to his father, was set to be discharged from his mandatory service in two months.

Shmueli’s commander, Chief Superintendent "K," told 103FM radio prior to Shmueli’s passing that the staff sergeant was "a valued, sociable, professional fighter" who had been mentoring new recruits.

Israeli politicians offered their condolences on Monday as news broke of Shmueli’s death.

"There are no words sufficient to comfort the family in its deep mourning," Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said. "Barel was a fighter in his life and in his death. He fought for his life until the last moment, as all of Israel prayed for him. I would like to embrace the family, which has lost what was most precious to it. May Barel’s soul be bound in the chain of life."

Pentagon Had Advanced Intel on 'Mass Casualty Attack' at Kabul Airport Attack But Failed to Stop It: Report
[PJ Media] Politico has released bombshell information, obtained through a confidential source at the Pentagon, angering top military officials. The informant gave copies of detailed notes from three conference calls to Politico that showed military brass knew that a deadly attack was coming 24 hours before the suicide bomb at Kabul airport and was unable to stop it. Politico reported:

Speaking from a secure video conference room on the third floor of the Pentagon at 8 a.m. Wednesday — or 4:30 p.m. in Kabul — Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin instructed more than a dozen of the department’s top leaders around the world to make preparations for an imminent "mass casualty event," according to classified detailed notes of the gathering shared with POLITICO.

During the meeting, Gen. Mark Milley, the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, warned of "significant" intelligence indicating that the Islamic State’s Afghanistan affiliate, ISIS-K, was planning a "complex attack," the notes quoted him as saying.

Commanders calling in from Kabul relayed that the Abbey Gate, where American citizens had been told to gather in order to gain entrance to the airport, was "highest risk," and detailed their plans to protect the airport.

Later that day, officials on another call decided to close the Abbey Gate by that afternoon. The closing plan was stalled when it was decided to leave the gate open to allow for British allies to continue evacuating their personnel through that gate. The delay was a deadly mistake. A suicide bomber entered Abbey Gate around 6 p.m. on Thursday and detonated a bomb that killed almost 200 people, including 13 U.S. military personnel.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby had no statement to make about why the gate closure was delayed so long after the recommended deadline but did take time to criticize the press for digging into what happened leading up to the deadly attack.
I’m getting to really dislike this retired admiral.
