The father of a US-Israeli held hostage in Gazoo said Thursday there is no truth to a report that the families of captives with American citizenship are petitioning the Biden administration to cut a unilateral deal with Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... to free their loved ones.
Jonathan Dekel-Chen, whose son Sagui Dekel-Chen was kidnapped from Nir Oz on October 7, told Channel 12 that the report, carried by NBC News on Wednesday, is false.
"I am in continuous contact with the other American families and all levels of the US government," he said. "The report that the American families are demanding a separate US-Hamas is not correct.
"I am in the room [for the meetings administration officials hold with the families of the hostages], and anything else is speculation," he said.
Dekel-Chen added that US officials are telling him they are doing everything they can to advance the deal that is "on the table" and that they are waiting for the agreement of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his coalition partners, as well as Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
There are seven hostages with dual US-Israeli citizenship; four of them have been declared dead.
The NBC News report said the relatives pushed for Washington to look at other ways of securing freedom for their loved ones. It said officials told the families they would look at "every option" but that a deal between Israel and Hamas was still the best way to proceed, the report said, citing people familiar with the meeting.
Those sources told the outlet that the idea of a unilateral deal had been floated as family members and some administration officials were becoming convinced that Netanyahu will not reach an agreement with Hamas. Critics accuse Netanyahu of shying away from a deal to satisfy far-right members of his coalition, who want the war to continue until Hamas is destroyed.

Current and former officials said the possible prisoners the US has to offer include the leaders of a Texas-based charity, Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development. In June, NBC News had a similar report of discussions for a unilateral deal, but the proposal did not advance at the time, with some senior administration officials strongly against it, the network said. I watched Netanyahu on Fox this morning. He again said Israel had agreed to a ceasefire multiple times but Hamas refused every time. He could really blasted Biden for saying Netanyahu isn't doing enough to free the hostages. I enjoyed it.

[Rudaw] A shepherd was killed in a Ottoman Turkish bombardment of a village in northeastern Erbil on Tuesday, according to a local health official and a war monitor. The area is known for festivities between the Ottoman Turkish military and Kurdish fighters.
Badi’ Kamal Mohammed, 29, was maimed when Ottoman Turkish air forces hit the Senin meadow in the Sidakan district of Erbil province, hospital director Karwan Faysal told Rudaw. Faysal added that Mohammed was brought to Sidakan hospital, where the civilian succumbed to his wounds
The incident took place around 4 pm, also striking houses of villagers, Rudaw has learned.

Turkey’s bombardment of PKK positions can be heard daily in the highlands. The situation in these areas is increasingly tense as the Ottoman Turkish army continues its incursion into the Kurdistan Region.
The mayor of Sidakan told Rudaw in July that nearly half of the district was no longer under local control.
"Of the total 1,617 kilometers of Sidakan area, 46 percent is no longer under our control, due to Turkey's entry to a depth of 30 kilometers and fighting between Turkey and the PKK," Ihsan Chalabi said.

Most states still forbid both professionals and relatives from forcing mental health treatment on anyone aged eighteen or over beyond a three-day hospital stay for evaluation. And even a three-day stay for evaluation generally can’t be forced on an 18+ adult unless the judge agrees the person is an imminent danger to self or others, where imminent danger requires being in the process at that moment of physically attempting murder or suicide.

[NYP] The daughter of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was arrested last month for allegedly driving with a suspended license, according to a report in Georgia.
Kinaya Willis, 25, was pulled over in Tyrone, Ga., on Aug. 24 for driving while using a cellphone when police discovered she also had a revoked license, according to an incident report obtained by the Daily Mail.

[ZeroHedge] In yet another headline you won't see from corporate media, 75% of those arrested in Midtown Manhattan in recent months for crimes like assault, robbery, and domestic violence are migrants.
In Queens, it's around 60%, the NY Post reports, citing police sources.
On any given day, Big Apple criminal court dockets are packed with asylum seekers who have run afoul of the law.
The problem is made much worse by sanctuary city laws that mean New York cops aren’t allowed to work with ICE on cases in which they believe suspects are in the country illegally. Additionally, the NYPD says it is barred from tracking the immigration status of offenders.
According to the report, the sanctuary city laws make it 'almost impossible' for authorities to handle the problem.
"New York City eliminated a tool to get rid of violent criminals. What a mess," said Jim Quinn, a veteran former prosecutor at the Queens District Attorney’s Office.
"The sanctuary city law is pathetic. It’s disgusting. It’s crazy."
Compounding matters, police sources say that word has gotten out among the migrant community about NYC's soft-on-crime policies which kicks criminals back onto the street quickly after they're arrested.
And even if they do end up serving time, one Bronx cop told the Post: "They don’t care if they get arrested — they laugh if they get sent to Rikers. Where they come from, they get tortured in jail."
The problem is so bad that Democrat Mayor Eric Adams has called on the City Council to change the sanctuary city laws - saying last week: "Right now, we don’t have the authorization to be able to go and coordinate with ICE. We have to follow the law."
According to a NYPD spokesperson, overall crime may be down last year, however they confirmed that "police officers are prohibited from asking about the immigration status of crime victims, witnesses, or suspects and therefore the NYPD doesn’t track data pertaining to immigration statuses."
"I would say about 75% of the arrests in Midtown Manhattan are migrants, mostly for robberies, assaults, domestic incidents and selling counterfeit items," one Midtown officer told the outlet.
He said the figure is an estimate because “you can’t be 100% sure [they’re migrants] unless you arrest them in a shelter or they’re dumb enough to give you a shelter address.”
Another Manhattan cop said that excluding petty larcenies at drugstores, the number of local arrests involving migrants is “easily” 75%, noting that most who get caught shoplifting go more for the pricey branded goods.
"They can’t be bothered with lower-end stores. They like Lululemon and Sunglass Hut," said the Manhattan cop, adding that migrants are responsible for "most" of the pickpocketing and similar crimes that the NYPD encounters.
Meanwhile in the courts, "there are days we have so many migrant cases, we have to call in for extra Spanish interpreters," said one law enforcement officer at the Queens Criminal Courthouse. Another told The Post: "Come on Mondays! Almost every case is a migrant."
Some of the crimes migrants are being arrested for include gang violence or vicious sexual assaults.
Venezuelan migrant Yurlex Daniel Guzman Quintero was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Aug. 28, accused of a deplorable act of sexual abuse against his girlfriend in which he viciously choked her and held a knife to her head. Court documents allege it all happened in front of her child.
The same day, migrant Dionisio Moran Flores was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court for allegedly raping his 5-year-old daughter. He was ordered held on $150,000 bail. -NY Post
The Post also notes that Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua, which has been terrorizing citizens around the country, has also set up shop in NYC and are already tied to hundreds of crimes - including the shootings of two NYPC officers who were trying to arrest a member in June. The gang has been arming up - smuggling guns into city-run shelters in food delivery bags in an effort to evade metal detectors.
"Most of the people we arrest are professionals — these aren’t their first crimes," said one law enforcement source, who added that Biden-Harris open border policies combined with sanctuary city laws are responsible for the current situation.
"Crime would be down significantly if there was a wall and we could account for everyone who comes into the country," the source told The Post. "And more importantly, throw them out if they commit a crime."

The reasoning, obviously, is that Harris would be weaker on Russia than Trump, which Putin himself essentially said in explaining his endorsement.

He elaborated that a Harris administration was likely to refrain from additional sanctions on Russia, noting that Trump had introduced more sanctions against Russia than anyone in the White House before him.

The nonprofit Americans for Citizen Voting (ACV) launched a campaign on Wednesday to pass constitutional amendments in eight states this November to prevent non-citizens from voting in those states' elections.
The eight states with these constitutional amendments on the ballot in November are Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Wisconsin.
While it is illegal for non-citizens to vote in U.S. elections, 17 cities across California, Illinois, Maryland, Vermont, and Washington, D.C., allow non-citizens to vote in municipal elections. New York City's law allowing non-citizens to vote is currently subject to a court block. If the city's law takes effect, then 800,000 non-citizens would be eligible to vote in municipal elections.
“Despite what you’ve seen in the news, non-citizen voting is happening right now, legally, in cities across the country,” ACV President Avi McCullah said in a statement. “This November the voters of eight states will get their chance to address the issue. I believe they will pass the Citizen Only Voting Amendment and send a powerful message nationwide.
“I am a naturalized citizen,” McCullah added. “I was born in Brazil and went through the process to become a citizen of the United States. Does our immigration system have problems? Of course, but diluting the citizenship I worked very hard for is not the solution.”
“Federal law requires that voters in federal elections be citizens of the United States. That isn’t the case for state and local elections,” Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said. “The only way to stop activist city councils, county boards, and state legislatures from legalizing foreign citizen voting is to pass a Citizen Only Voting Amendment.”

A judge in Los Angeles County ordered the county to rapidly produce court-ordered homelessness program audit data, saying, “If there isn’t documentation of work being done, it’s not being done.”
Judge David O. Carter is overseeing a settlement from two years ago between the LA Alliance for Human Rights and both Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles. The City of Los Angeles’ separate settlement requires the city to bring shelter online in each city council district for some 60% of the city’s unsheltered homeless based on the 2020 homelessness count; once each district reaches that threshold, it can begin enforcing anti-camping ordinances.
Los Angeles County has approximately 75,312 homeless individuals as of the most recent July annual homelessness report.
LA County’s side of the settlement includes an agreement to provide a wide variety of homelessness services such as “intensive care management, mental health and substance use services” and even “job training … family reunification, education, childcare,” said L.A. County Supervisor Holly Mitchell at a press conference at the time of the settlement, according to LAist.
L.A. County also said it would provide 3,000 mental health treatment beds. According to the California Health and Human Services Agency, 21% of homeless individuals in California have a “serious mental illness.”
Carter ordered an audit of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority be completed by November or October.
"An audit like this is a tool that helps us try and figure this out, but at the end of the day we need more beds. We need more services. If the city and county don't know where the documentation is that shows beds and services are being provided, we've got a massive problem,” LA Alliance for Human Rights attorney Matthew Umhofer told ABC.
Umhofer also noted Carter could impose sanctions on the government, and even appoint a receiver to take over services.
“He can impose sanctions on the city and county and at some point, if the city and the county aren't complying with our agreements, the judge can appoint a receiver," Umhofer continued.
Last month, California Gov. Gavin Newsom slammed Los Angeles County for its homelessness response, warning that the over $3 billion he’s provided to the county could come to an end if there aren’t results soon.
“$144 million has been provided through the Encampment Resolution Grants in LA County Broadly … this in addition to $3.1 billion in other resources … in just the last few years coming from the State of California [in Los Angeles],” said Newsom. “Do your job. There’s no more excuses. You got the money … you got the support from the state … If we don’t see demonstrable results I’ll start to redirect money … that will start in January.”
A state audit from earlier this year found the state’s $24 billion in homelessness spending between 2018 and through the 2022-2023 fiscal year, or approximately since Newsom took office, was often not tracked and evaluated.

After Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton warned Bexar County officials not to potentially engage in election fraud, they went forward with their voter registration plan utilizing what some called a far-left group and Paxton sued.
At a Bexar County Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday, commissioners voted 3-1 to approve a plan to spend $392,000 to hire a company to print and distribute voter registration forms to unregistered county residents.
Paxton sent a letter to county officials Monday night warning them not to take the action or his office would sue. “It is unlawful and reckless for counties to use taxpayer dollars to indiscriminately send voter registration forms with no consideration of the recipients’ eligibility and without any statutory authority to do so,” he said.
Paxton’s lawsuit names the county judge, four commissioners and the election’s administrator as defendants. It asks the court to halt the plan from going into effect and seeks emergency injunctive relief.
Distributing voter registration forms to unverified recipients “could induce ineligible people – such as felons and noncitizens – to commit a crime by attempting to register to vote,” he warned, also saying that doing so violates state law. “Texas counties have no statutory authority to print and mail state voter registration forms, making the proposal fundamentally illegal.”
He said their plan “is illegal, and if you move forward with this proposal, I will use all available legal means to stop you.”
They moved forward with it, even after numerous residents expressed alarm and publicly opposed it. They also moved forward with it after Bexar County Election Administrator Jacquelyn Callanen said there were already 900 organizations in the county registering people to vote more than once, with numerous duplicates.
So many residents were being registered to vote that her office had to hire temporary workers to process the increased volume. They still have a 3,000 to 4,000 backlog of registration cards to process, she said. The cards keep coming in.
She also expressed alarm about pre-filled voter registration forms being sent to residents. One brought her a form with her sister’s name on it. “Her sister passed away ten years ago. This woman came in and literally threw this at us,” Callanen said, adding that constituents are “very angry.”
She also explained that her office processes the information on the card they receive and send it to the SOS, which then verifies the data. This includes checking Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses, citizenship and other information. Once the SOS confirms a voter’s registration, it sends back a unique voter ID number to her office.
“Every day we get back information on voter registration,” she said. “There’s a deceased person registered to vote, birthday doesn’t match, TEL doesn’t match, SSN doesn’t match, it’s a noncitizen. We get back a list of names … and we cancel them if we have to.
“What we’re seeing are tons of duplicates coming in,” she said, referring to numerous organizations registering the same person to vote more than once.
“As of today, we have 1,270,000 registered voters in Bexar County,” she said. She also expressed concerns about the county’s responsibility to “protect the voter.”
Resident after resident spoke against the plan. One, Melinda Roberts, told the court, “you are hiring a far-left organization to register Democrats to vote,” noting that the owner of the company “runs partisan organizations and his targeted eligible voters are Democrats. His companies are tech based, and he's on the record stating their political. They are progressive political entities. His companies and connections all lead to partisan politics.”
Paxton’s lawsuit names the county judge, four commissioners and the election’s administrator as defendants. It asks the court to halt the plan from going into effect and seeks emergency injunctive relief “to prevent them from giving a partisan organization, and violation of state and local procurement procedures, hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to mail unsolicited voter registration applications to an untold number of Bexar County residents, regardless of whether those residents requested such an application or are even eligible to vote.
“Defendant’s actions will create confusion, facilitate fraud, undermine confidence in elections, and are illegal ultra virus acts because they exceed statutory authority.”
“Despite being warned against adopting this blatantly illegal program,” Paxton said, “Bexar County has irresponsibly chosen to violate the law,” adding that he plans to stop them.

A jacket anticipated to cost $150 is on sale for $75, so now you can spend the other $75 on a pair of shoes because you save 50% of the jacket. That’s girl math. Or you forgot you had $20 in your Venmo account; so, paying your friend back for dinner was actually “free.” That, too, is “girl math.”
While “girl math” is usually a funny joke between friends, it can go too far to justify irresponsible spending, and no one is better at justifying lavish and wasteful spending than the federal government.

Given that lawmakers hold the power of the purse, it’s the job of Congress to pass 12 appropriations bills before the start of the new fiscal year on Oct. 1. Instead, what has happened in previous years, and what’s expected to happen again this year, is Congress will disagree over spending levels and, in order to keep the doors of the government open, a continuing resolution will be passed to keep the government funded.
Eventually, after enough arm-twisting and hand-wringing, Congress will pass a budget for the new fiscal year, likely a couple of days before Christmas. In the end, American taxpayers are left trying to foot a bill citizens never asked for and can’t afford.
[Breitbart] A Haitian migrant is accused of molesting a 10-year-old boy in Mansfield, Massachusetts, after he was reportedly flown into the United States last year through President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s parole pipeline.
Akim Marc Desire, an 18-year-old Haitian national, was arrested late last month by the Mansfield Police Department and charged with indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
According to a report from Fox News, Desire allegedly molested a 10-year-old boy who lived next door to him in the area. A day after his arrest, Desire was arraigned in Attleboro, Massachusetts, District Court on the child sex crime charges.
Desire was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents following the arraignment and he remains in federal custody.
Desire, Fox News reports, was flown into the U.S. in June 2023 through Biden and Harris’s controversial CHNV program — the parole process created by the administration that has successfully brought hundreds of thousands of Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans to the U.S.
Last month, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas temporarily shut down the CHNV program over reports of widespread fraud and abuse. Just weeks later, though, DHS restarted the program.
[Breitbart] An illegal alien is now accused of raping a child numerous times on Martha’s Vineyard — the elite island off the coast of Massachusetts where the likes of former President Obama and billionaire Oprah Winfrey are known to vacation during the summer.
Warley Neto, a 24-year-old illegal alien from Brazil, first crossed the United States-Mexico border near Paso Del Norte, Texas, in March 2018.
Just a week later, Neto was given a Notice to Appear (NTA) before a federal immigration judge by Border Patrol and released from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) custody into the U.S. interior.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents issued a detainer against Neto, requesting custody of him, in February 2023 after he was arrested on Martha’s Vineyard and charged with strangulation or suffocation, assault and battery on a family household member, and making threats to commit a crime.
For those charges, Neto was found guilty and sentenced to 364 days in prison. All but 90 days, though, of that sentence were suspended. Neto, likely thanks to Massachusett’s sanctuary state policy, was not turned over to ICE agents.
In January of this year, ICE agents again issued a detainer against Neto after he was arrested by the Tisbury Police Department on Martha’s Vineyard for five counts of child rape and five counts of enticing a minor under 16 years old.
The charges were then elevated to the Dukes County Superior Court, where Neto was indicted. Last month, Neto was turned over to ICE agents after the Dukes County Sheriff’s Office honored the detainer lodged against him.

[Breitbart] Maverick County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from citizens reporting banging coming from an abandoned semi-trailer on the city’s outskirts early Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, deputies found 26 migrants sealed inside the abandoned trailer, gasping for air. The migrants had been loaded into the trailer by unknown persons who had fled the scene before the arrival of law enforcement authorities.
Sheriff Tom Schmerber told Breitbart that Texas interviews conducted at the time of the rescue indicate the migrants were brought to the trailer in small groups in preparation for the longer trip to San Antonio. Eagle Pass is 157 miles southwest of San Antonio. At the time of the discovery, the temperature outside the trailer was slightly above 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
The trailer parking area is approximately three miles from the international boundary between Mexico and the United States. Schmerber says the migrants who had spent the greater amount of time sealed in the trailer began to beat on the walls and scream for help.
Several migrants were transported to a local hospital for medical attention and were subsequently treated and released to the Border Patrol. Authorities say the migrants were from Mexico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Central America. According to Sheriff Schmerber, the migrants were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol, and the incident will be investigated by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
The incident is reminiscent of the tragic June 2022 incident in San Antonio, Texas, that claimed the lives of 53 migrants. In that human smuggling event, 65 migrants were discovered in a semi-tractor trailer after smugglers abandoned the vehicle near an industrial park outside the city. At the time of discovery, 48 migrants were found dead inside the sweltering trailer. Five migrants died at local medical facilities within days of the event.
Thus far, four suspects have pleaded guilty for their involvement in the deadliest human smuggling event in the United States. A Guatemalan national, Rigoberto Ramon Miranda-Orozco, was arrested in relation to the San Antonio smuggling event in Guatemala in August. The Department of Justice announced his arrest after the conclusion of a joint enforcement effort with Guatemalan authorities, resulting in the arrest of Miranda, who is suspected of smuggling 21 Guatemalan nationals in the deadly 2022 event. Miranda is alleged to have charged some of the victims between $12,000 and $15,000 to traffic the migrants to the United States.
[Breitbart] CNN host Erin Burnett said Wednesday on her show “OutFront” that their reporting found 50 times Vice President Kamala Harris criticized former President Donald Trump’s border wall but then featured a section of that exact area of the wall on a campaign ad.
Burnett said, “The K File team scoured Kamala Harris’ tweets and statements going all the way back to 2017, and what they found was more than 50 instances of Harris slamming Trump’s border wall, but now new Harris campaign ads actually showcase that very wall.”
She continued, “K File’s Andrew Kaczynski joins me now. So Andrew, I mean, you and you all have gone through and scoured an incredible amount of material. Tell me more about what you found.”
Kaczynski said, “Yeah, that’s right. We found more than 50 of those those tweets criticizing the border while before she used that in her ad.”

This is like, I mean, you heard her talking about it there, though, Trump’s wall in his campaign during his presidency, there was really no greater symbol of Trump’s presidency than the wall in the way that Democrats were attacking him over the wall and his restrictive immigration policies. So we looked in that ad and if you look at it, that exact area of wall is in Sasabe, Arizona and that is a portion of wall that was actually built by Donald Trump.”

All Jewish institutions in Munich are guarded by police at all times. There's also a heavy police presence at the main Munich synagogue right now. S and U-Bahn ystations are currently guarded by police with automatic guns. But police says danger has passed.

In Frankfurt (am Main) back when we were there, and no doubt still today, the Jewish day school had an armed police guard, according to the headmaster’s nanny. She was friends with our nanny, and used to hang out at our house on her days off.

In the 1980s there was a Jewish kindergarten very close to Prinzregentenplatz. Only people who lived there knew that it existed. It was discreetly guarded at all times. Right across the street was (and still is) a police station located in the house that was Hitler's residence in Munich.

The name of the terrorist is given as Emra I. His car has a Salzburg number plate and he's said to be an "Austrian" with known Islamist ties.
Emra is a Bosnian name.
The gun is a WW-2 rifle. I'm pretty sure that the Israeli General Consulate was the target (islamists wouldn't care much about a NS Doku Center), and the bayonet speaks for itself. This guy wanted to kill Jews, and many of them.

Media reports point to teenage Islamist from Austria
First reports on the identity of the man started to emerge in Germany and Austria just after lunch.
The joint investigative reporting team of the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper and broadcasters WDR and MDR, typically reliable and with good connections to German security services, reported that the suspect was an Austrian citizen born in 2006.
Similarly, Germany's Der Spiegel, on its website, and Austrian newspaper Der Standard reported that he was an 18-year-old Austrian national. They also said he was already known to security services for Islamist tendencies, and was a resident of the state of Salzburg that borders Bavaria and Germany. He drove to Munich on Thursday morning, they said.
Different reporters confirming details. As I recall, it’s a pleasant drive from Munich to Salzburg, even with small children. ;-)

Young Emra I. had been investigated last year for religious radicalization and interest in explosives and weapons, and links to ISIS were found on his phone, but the investigation was dropped. His phone today contained ISIS propaganda and gaming links. He was banned from having a gun until 2028, but 18th century repeating carabiners (if I have that right) do not require a gun license or permit. Austrian police are currently searching his home in Neumarkt am Wallersee.

The Austrian-born Mohamed Mahmoud was particularly well known: The Islamist was part of the leadership of the Islamic State (IS) in Syria. The rifle is probably a Mauser repeater rifle used in WW2 (not 18th century). It was freely available in Germany (and Austria, I guess) until 1976 and now sells cheaply on the black market (300 Euros). It always required a permit, which the shooter was not allowed to have.

The Mauser 98 was introduced as early as 1898, before the First World War, in the time of Kaiser Wilhelm II. A legendary, groundbreaking weapon at the time. Mauser proudly writes that it is the ancestor of all bolt-action rifles, often copied but never equaled. The Mauser, also known as the Gewehr 98, is the culmination and also the end of a development. It is a multiple-shot rifle without an automatic firing sequence. The rifle has a magazine with five cartridges, which are individually pushed into the barrel using the conspicuous lever.
During the Second World War, the shorter 98K variant was the standard weapon of the German infantry. The robustness of the breech and the possible accuracy spoke for it. The only disadvantages were the five cartridges in the magazine and the heavy caliber of the cartridges.

Thank you for actually knowing what I was trying to talk about, European Conservative. While my German grandfather was a gunnery sergeant in WWI and an avid hunter, and my father was a shooting instructor for Haganah, due to his training as a schoolboy in Latvia, I did not grow up with guns. I’ve actually only physically touched a gun once in my life, and never had occasion to shoot one. I was transcribing what Merkur and Deutsche Welle reported today.

Al Nusra/Al Qaeda in addition to ISIS? That fits with things we’ve seen over the years from other young jihadis: they just want someone to sanction their murders — and maybe even pay the cost for supplies and a stipend. They don’t care about the fine points of doctrine and loyalty that differentiate the various jihadi groups and had their elders at daggers drawn, in previous generations.

Two months after Crooks shot the former president's ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a preliminary report from Rep. Clay Higgins offered a differing narrative to the official one pushed by the FBI.
While it was initially claimed that Crooks was shot in the head within seconds by a Secret Service sniper, Higgins' report claimed it was actually a local SWAT operator who stopped the gunman's hail of bullets.
The congressman said the local cop's shot 'hit Crooks' rifle and fragged his face/ neck/ right shoulder area from the (gun) stock breaking up', which meant Crooks was unable to keep firing before he was killed.
It comes amid mounting scrutiny on the FBI and Secret Service's investigations into the shooting, weeks after Higgins also revealed Crooks' body was mysteriously cremated with approval from the FBI after just 10 days.
Newly released images of Crooks' AR-style rifle show the stock end of the firearm with a large hole where the bullet purportedly struck near the shooter's shoulder.
According to Higgins' report, the rally could have been worse had it not been for the actions of local officers.
After Crooks fired eight bullets at the crowd, striking Trump's ear and hitting three rally attendees, one fatally, officers were scrambling to locate the source of the bullets and fire back.
Higgins said the SWAT operator - who he described as a 'total badass' in his report - fired at Crooks from the ground around 100 yards from the AGR building where he had been perched.
'When he had sighted the shooter Crooks as a mostly obscured by foliage moving target on the AGR rooftop, he immediately left his assigned post and ran towards the threat,' Higgins wrote.
The congressman noted that the officer ran into Crooks' possible line of fire and took a 'very hard shot' that struck the end of Crooks' rifle and destroyed the gun's functionality.
'This means that if his AR buffer tube was damaged, Crooks’ rifle wouldn’t fire after his 8th shot,' Higgins wrote.
Seconds later, a Secret Service sniper killed Crooks on the rooftop perch, which 'entered somewhere around the left mouth area and exited the right ear area.'
'Yes, we'll get the reports and pictures, but I will not ever be able to say with certainty that those reports and pictures are accurate according to my own examination of the body.
'Again, similar to releasing the crime scene and scrubbing crime scene biological evidence... this action by the FBI can only be described by any reasonable man as an obstruction to any following investigative effort.'
Higgins states that on July 23, the day that Crooks was cremated, both the Homeland Security Committee and the Oversight Committee had opened investigations into the assassination attempt, while Speaker Mike Johnson had stated he was forming a congressional investigative body.
'Why, then, by what measure, would the FBI release his body to the family for cremation? This pattern of investigative scorched earth by the FBI is quite troubling,' Higgins writes.
His 'preliminary investigate report' was submitted to Task Force Chairman Mike Kelly (R-PA) on August 12 and released to the public on Higgins' website on August 15.
On July 29, the Louisiana congressman was named as one of seven Republican members of a bipartisan group tasked with investigating the attempted assassination of Trump.
The task force consists of 13 members - seven Republicans and six Democrats. Its mission is to determine what went wrong on the day of the attempted assassination and it will make recommendations to prevent future security lapses.
The task force will issue a final report before December 13.

IIRC there are reports that they knew about the presence of a suspicious armed individual minutes before the shooting, perhaps even before Trump took the stage.

Kamaran Abdullah, mayor of Khalakan, told Rudaw that three people were killed in a dronezap on a vehicle between Mergapasha and Khalakan villages, and their bodies are unidentified due to them being completely burned.
"A Jeep vehicle containing three people was bombarded and all three were burned and bit the dust," Khalakan health director Malband Hamad told Rudaw, adding that their identities remain unknown.
Local security forces have launched an investigation into the incident.
"The car was hit by a drone. The car immediately went up in flames and the three citizens were martyred," Sirwan Lala Sarhad, mayor of Dukan district, told Rudaw.
"The bodies were burned, the car was burned. We could not recognise them," he added.
Sarhad said that the sub-districts within the administration of Dukan have been bombed multiple times over the past few years, however this was the second time a drone targeted a vehicle.
No one has grabbed credit for the attack, but it was carried out in an area that Turkey has previously targeted on the grounds of fighting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
The PKK is a Kurdish group that has waged an armed insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state in the struggle for greater Kurdish rights for decades and is designated a terrorist organization by Ankara.
PKK-affiliated Rojnews accused Turkey of carrying out the strike, saying it struck a civilian vehicle.
In August 2023, a Ottoman Turkish drone struck a vehicle on the Dukan-Khalakan road, commonly used by civilian vehicles, killing one person.
Ankara routinely accuses the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), which controls Sulaimani province, of having close ties with the PKK. A flight ban on Sulaymaniyah International Airport has been in place since April 2023, due to what Turkey alleges is an "intensification" of PKK activity in the province.
On Tuesday, Ottoman Turkish warplanes bombarded a village in northeastern Erbil’s Sidakan district, killing a shepherd. The area is infamous for festivities between the Ottoman Turkish military and the PKK.
[Rudaw] An Iraqi army officer was killed and two others were maimed on Wednesday when an improvised bomb (IED) detonated in Kirkuk province.
"At around 6:30 this evening in the village of Tuwelaa near al-Gharra Mountain in the Dubz district, an improvised bomb detonated on an Iraqi army military vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of one lieutenant colonel and injuries to another lieutenant colonel and a soldier," Amer Nuri, spokesperson for Kirkuk police, told Rudaw.
The injured were transferred to a hospital in Kirkuk. The blast destroyed the vehicle.
The officer who was killed was named as Laith al-Hayali, intelligence director for the 8th Division of Kirkuk Operations Command.

[Rudaw] An official of the internal security forces (Asayish) in northeast Syria (Rojava) was killed on Tuesday after his car went kaboom!, allegedly due to a Ottoman Turkishdronezap, near a prison complex in the city of Qamishli, a war monitor reported.
"A car belonging to a commander in the Asayish went kaboom! near the prison of Umm al-Fursan in the countryside of Qamishli, north of Hasaka," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war monitor.
The car explosion coincided with the presence of a Ottoman Turkish drone in the air, the Observatory added.

[KhaamaPress] The China-Pakistain Economic Corridor (CPEC) was launched close to 10 years ago, but it is struggling to meet its envisaged expectations. The CPEC is a crucial part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), but many of its components have been marred by slow implementation, making them infeasible and unviable. Several thermal power, hydroelectric, transport infrastructure, and special economic zone projects have not become operational yet.
The CPEC fiasco was acknowledged by Pak Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal recently. He did not just accept that the CPEC had lost steam but also said that the progress had regressed by at least 10 years.[1] While Islamabad has its own concerns, the Chinese have blamed Pakistain for the delays in CPEC project construction. "Chinese ambassador has complained to me that you have destroyed CPEC and no work was done in the past three years," Saleem Mandviwalla, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Pakistain, said earlier.[2]
Although the CPEC projects looked ambitious, there were problems with implementation due to misgovernance and improper policies, said Pakistain’s former foreign secretary, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry. "Signing MoUs does not automatically translate into projects. For that, we need to create a congenial business environment with minimal red tape and fast-track facilitation. Security of foreign investors and investments has emerged as a serious issue," he said.[3]
It is not just delays but the CPEC is going to be detrimental for Pakistain as the megaproject can witness delays for another ten years, said Osama Ahmad, a researcher at the Islamabad-based Pak Institute of Peace Studies. "Now, a decade after CPEC was first launched, the initiative has landed in uncharted territory, delivering very little and attracting myriad controversies. Not only have Pakistain’s development projects stalled over the past decade, but CPEC has also exacerbated longstanding tensions in Pakistain’s Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... province," he said.
Some areas regarding the CPEC implementation have become concerning. Tardy decision-making, Pak leaders’ propensity to speak more and perform less, political instability, dynastic politics, domination of the military, and rising debts are among them. Imtiaz Gul, author and head of the Islamabad-based Centre for Research and Security Studies, said "Ten years on, many Chinese expectations associated with CPEC have gone sour — a journey of lofty rhetoric and shallow promises by Pak leaders and less inclination to implementation and reform required for desired economic progress."
China and Pakistain have held regular meetings to keep the CPEC on track. However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... it failed to produce the intended benefits. Social scientist Dr Muhammad Ali Sheikh highlighted how lack of transparency, unsustainable imports and Chinese dumping, and political indecision obstructed the implementation of the CPEC projects. "These developments considerably slowed down the implementation and expansion of the programme. One decade on since it was announced, the weaknesses in its implementation should also be addressed," said Sheikh, who is a former vice-chancellor of Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...

The CPEC-driven prosperity, employment opportunities, and poverty reduction remain a distant dream for Paks.[6]
Despite the first phase of the CPEC failing to achieve its objective, the Pakistain government is talking about the launch of another new phase of the programme. However,
it's easy to be generous with someone else's money... there seems no possibility of it since for China, CPEC is solely establishing connectivity between Xinjiang and Gwadar, which serves its geopolitical interests in the Middle East, said economy journalist Khurram Husain. "No such thing is about to happen, and all the noise around a revival of the China-Pakistain Economic Corridor (CPEC) is either wishful thinking (at best) or a way to camouflage what really is going on," he wrote.[7]

"Some Afghans living here in Pakistain have been residing here for the past forty years and continue their lives. They are not physically or mentally prepared to return to Afghanistan so soon," said Ehsan Ahmadzai, an Afghan migrant in Pakistain.
"There are migrants colonists who were born in Pakistain. If they are sent to Afghanistan, they will become refugees once again. In Afghanistan, they will face problems such as a lack of shelter and access to education," said Allah Mir, another Afghan migrant in Pakistain.

[IsraelTimes] The Jerusalem District Court issues a temporary seizure order for NIS 160 million ($43 million) against Paleostinian Authority funds frozen by the government, in response to a lawsuit by the families of Paleostinian terror victims demanding compensation from the Paleostinian governing body for supporting and encouraging such violence.
A new law passed in March this year allows victims of Paleostinian terrorism and their families to sue the Paleostinian Authority for compensation, since the body pays monthly stipends to Paleostinians Lions of Islam and their family members.
Under a law from 2018, the Israeli government deducts the sum of money distributed by the Paleostinian Authority in terrorist stipends from the tax funds Israel collects and transfers to the PA.
Some NIS 2 billion has been accumulated in frozen funds from the PA’s terrorist stipend program.
The original compensation suit, filed by the Arbus, Kedem, Tzur law firm, was submitted on behalf of 78 victims of Paleostinian terrorism and the NIS 160 million addresses their claims.
But some 200 more victims and the family members have since joined the suit, meaning that a further seizure order covering their claims could be issued by the court in the coming days.
Among those party to the lawsuit are family members of victims of the October 7 massacres committed by Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... and other terror groups.
Attorney Barak Kedem says it will take several more months before the case comes before the court in a hearing.
"The court’s decision to seize huge sums of money from the Paleostinian Authority is an important first step on the way to the transfer of terrorist financing funds for the benefit of the victims of terrorism and an important contribution to the fight against terrorism," say Kedem and Arye Arbus in response to the decision.
The Paleostinian Authority filed a petition to the High Court of Justice in July against the legislation allowing Israeli citizens to sue it for compensation, but the attorney general rejected its standing to file such a petition, while the justices of the court expressed skepticism as to the validity of the petition during a hearing in August.

On August 18, a few days before Mashaal’s speech, Hamas and the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... had claimed an intended suicide kaboom in Tel Aviv. The attacker died when his backpack went kaboom!, and a passerby was injured. The joint statement by the two terror groups referred to the operation as a suicide kaboom.
Hamas championed this type of attacks for years, and conducted them throughout the 1990s and through the end of the Second Intifada in the early 2000s, but they have been rare in the years since.
According to government sources, the latest suicide kaboom claimed by Hamas inside Israel was in a shopping center in the southern city of Dimona in February 2008, in which a woman was killed and 38 were maimed.
Another suicide attack was carried out by a member of Hamas’s military wing on a bus in Jerusalem in April 2016, in which 21 were maimed. The group did not officially claim the operation at the time.
Experts indicate that multiple attempts to carry out suicide kabooms were foiled in recent years.

A U.S. Navy command senior chief was demoted for conspiring with other Navy chiefs to install an illegal Wi-Fi network on a warship that they used to check sports scores and watch TV shows.
Grisel Marrero, a senior enlisted Navy officer, reportedly installed a Starlink network on the USS Manchester called "STINKY."
The command senior chief installed and operated the unauthorized network during a deployment in 2023. She charged the $1,000-a-month cost of the network to a leadership association debit card.
Marrero lied and misled her commanding officer about the network at least three times, according to a charge sheet reviewed by Fox News Digital.
As the Manchester prepared for a West Pacific deployment in April 2023, Marrero conspired with the ship’s chief to install the secret network. It would be exclusive to them: They didn’t share it with rank-and-file sailors who were forced to deploy without connectivity.
The chiefs used the network to check sports scores, text and stream movies, according to an internal investigation obtained by Navy Times.
Marrero was demoted from senior chief petty officer to chief petty officer after being found guilty of dereliction of duty and providing false official statements to commanders on May 29. Before her trial, Naval Surface Force Pacific, or SURFPAC, quietly relieved her of her leadership position aboard the Manchester, according to Navy Times.
SURFPAC spokesman Cmdr. Arlo Abrahamson told Navy Times that other sailors were disciplined in connection to the unauthorized WiFi but declined to provide further details.
Using such a wireless network for entertainment could cause a serious security breach, the investigation warned: "The danger such systems pose to the crew, the ship and the Navy cannot be understated."
Prosecutors said Marrero "failed to prevent the USS Manchester’s exposure to operational security risk, as it was her duty to do."
Marrero had paid for the $2,800 Starlink dish on her personal credit card and was the network administrator. She and another chief installed the dish during an "aloft" time period when duties aren’t recorded in the ship’s logs, according to Navy Times.
She named the network "STINKY" to make it sound like a wireless printer, though there were no such printers on the ship.
When junior sailors and commanding officers began to notice the network, Marrero denied its existence, according to the sheet. She also altered a data display image for the Starlink account to reflect lesser data usages.
The Starlink dish was discovered on Aug. 18 of that year by a civilian installing an authorized satellite communication system.
"The gig is up," Marrero texted a crew member at the time, according to the investigation.
After being confronted, she and the other chiefs tried to remove the dish, then told commanders they only used it while in port.
Marrero finally admitted to being behind the illegal network to her commanding officer on Aug. 26, 2023.
Court records show Marrero pleaded guilty to two counts of dereliction of duty and one count of obstruction of justice.
She was used to certain comforts that she didn't want to give up just because she was out on that icky boat. And worse, the rest of the goat locker went along with her and paid money for the privilege.

Saw this story a couple of days ago; yes why is she still in the service and while the results of the NJPs for the E-7/8/9s involved ( I refuse to call them Chiefs) have not been released, every one needs busted back to E-5/6. Broke the trust.
I also suspect that the CO was, to some degree complicit; her ‘investigation’ into the rumors of this network appear halfhearted; why didn’t any of the ETs or Radarmen see a strange antenna mounted on the ship? She (the CO) in my opinion, was covering ‘for the sisterhood.’
And just why did the XO get transferred? Asking too many uncomfortable questions?

Reading the CDR Salamander link in #7, it is hard not to marvel at the persistence of the chief perps (no pun!) and the number of people involved in maintaining this network, even to the extent of re-installing it after they were found out. How could she not be in prison? How could she not be booted from the force? Are there no security officers who routinely monitor signals incoming-and-outgoing and not notice the irregularity? How did the $1,000 a month credit card charge go un-noticed? I haven't seen a "Starlink dish", but aren't there routine patroles on such vessils looking for "stuff that shouldn't be here" (like just part of maintaining a ship that spends 24/7 outdoors)?

[WRDW] WINDER, Ga. - Hundreds of law enforcement officers have swarmed Apalachee High School in Barrow County after a shooting injured multiple people.
CBS reported it had confirmed through its sources that two people are dead and possibly four more were injured.
Sheriff Jud Smith wouldn’t comment on that during a news conference just after 1 p.m.
He called it a "very active, ever-fluid" situation, with new information emerging minute by minute.
"It’s very early," he said.
He was clear about one thing, though: "An evil thing" happened at the school, he said.
With roads blocked up to a mile away, panicked parents set out on foot running to the school to check on their kids. They were being reunified around 1 p.m., and the sheriff asked the media to respect their privacy.
The sheriff said he plans to give another update around 4 p.m.
The first call came in at 9:30 a.m., Smith said, and officers and medical personnel from multiple agencies were sent.
One suspect was in custody and casualties were reported as of noon, according to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office. Casualties could mean either injuries or deaths.
Dozens of ambulances and officers were on the ground at the nearly 2,000-student school about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta., alongside medic helicopters.
CNN reported that a hospital in Winder was receiving patients with gunshot wounds.
At least one person was loaded into the helicopter on a stretcher around 11:20 a.m. The helicopter flew to Grady Memorial Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center.
Then a new helicopter arrived around 12:10 p.m.
At least eight ground ambulances, including ones from other counties, responded, with several leaving the school with lights and sirens on.
A heavily armed group of law enforcement officers were seen in formation entering the building, but they hadn’t come out as of noon. Individual SWAT-type officers could be seen checking around around the perimeter of the building as late as 1 p.m.
The FBI was among the agencies on the scene along with hundreds of law enforcement vehicles from other agencies, including the Georgia State Patrol. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said it was involved, as well.
"We urge anyone near the area to stay clear while authorities investigate," GBI said.
The White House said President Joe Biden had been briefed on the matter.
Atlanta schools bolstered security in response to the shooting, Mayor Andre Dickens said. After the shooting was reported, the school was placed on a hard lockdown and students were evacuated. Also on lockdown was a nearby middle school.l
"FBI Atlanta is aware of the current situation at Apalachee High School," Tony Thomas, FBI Atlanta spokesperson said. "Our agents are on scene coordinating with and supporting local law enforcement."
It’s unclear how the gun got into the school. But the district’s code of conduct says it has the ability to conduct screening with handheld metal detectors.
A new law required annual active shooter drills at schools in Georgia, and that may have played a role in authorities’ response. The measure requires every public school to complete an active shooter drill by Oct. 1 of each year. Students are required to participate, although districts can choose to allow parents to opt their children out.
The measure also requires the state Professional Standards Commission to create a school safety and anti-gang license endorsement for teachers and other certified personnel who complete a training program in "multidisciplinary best practices for promoting and preserving safe schools and for identifying and deterring youth gangs."
The measure amended an existing law requiring school safety plans be submitted yearly to not only local law enforcement but also the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency

After a school shooting killed four people and injured others in Barrow County, FBI Atlanta officials say the suspect was previously interviewed for online threats made in 2023. Too busy...
“In May 2023, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center received several anonymous tips about online threats to commit a school shooting at an unidentified location and time. The online threats contained photographs of guns. Within 24 hours, the FBI determined the online post originated in Georgia and the FBI’s Atlanta Field Office referred the information to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for action,” said FBI Atlanta and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in a joint statement. “The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office located a possible subject, a 13-year-old male, and interviewed him and his father. The father stated he had hunting guns in the house, but the subject did not have unsupervised access to them. The subject denied making the threats online.”
FBI Atlanta officials confirm the subject from the 2023 threats is 14-year-old Colt Gray, who is the suspect in Apalachee High School’s deadly shooting.
On Wednesday, hundreds of law enforcement officers swarmed Apalachee High School in Barrow County and took a suspect into custody after a shooting killed four people.
Gray was confronted by a school resource officer, and the teenager immediately got down on the ground and surrendered, authorities said.
Smith said the boy surrendered because it was clear things would not go well for him.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said four people were killed – two students and two teachers – and nine were taken to hospitals with injuries.
The suspect was identified as Gray, a student at the school who’ll be charged as an adult, authorities said.
Meanwhile, CNN reported that law enforcement sources said the school got a phone call warning there would be shootings at five schools and that Apalachee would be the first. Authorities are investigating.

A Chicago man who allegedly shot and killed four passengers at random as they were sleeping on a train on Monday has been charged.
Rhanni S. Davis, 30, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder, Fox Chicago reported.
The four victims were sleeping on a Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line train around 5:30 a.m. when they were shot, authorities said.
The train arrived at the Forest Park station and CTA workers notified police.
Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth victim was taken to Loyola University Medical Center before being pronounced dead.
Two of the victims were identified as Adrian Collins, 60, and Simeon Bihesi, 28. The other two victims have so far been identified only as a male and a female.
Davis fled the scene after the shootings but was arrested on the CTA's Pink Line. Police reportedly recovered a gun during the arrest.
Surveillance video allegedly showed Davis walking through a train car and shooting three of the victims seated separately, police said.
[ABC7Chicago] The I-Team has uncovered more information about the person accused in a shooting on a CTA Blue Line train that killed four sleeping passengers Monday, including red flags in their past.
Forest Park police announced the arrest of 30-year-old Rhanni Davis on Tuesday, and at a news conference, said Davis has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder.
Police and court records show Davis has a criminal history, and over the years, has gone by several different spellings of their name.
In 2013, court records show Davis filed a petition to change their birth name from James Wesley D McDavis, III, to Rhianni J. Davis.
The ABC 7 I-Team found state regulatory records showing a person with that same name -- Rhianni Davis - as well as the same date-of-birth and residing zip-code was officially licensed by the state of Illinois as a private security guard.
In addition to the private security guard license, known in Illinois as a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC), this individual also had a Firearm Control Card and Firearms Instructor Card.
State officials tell the I-Team those cards authorize a licensed security guard to carry a firearm while working, as well as authorize the individual to train other state licensees on handling firearms.
A person with the same name, Rhianni J. Davis of Chicago, also has a Linked-In profile listing employment with several private security firms.
Those listed firms have not responded to the ABC 7 I-Team's inquiries regarding Davis' possible employment.
Forest Park police have not confirmed whether the licensed individual is the suspect arrested for Monday's CTA shooting.
The accused CTA shooter's criminal history begins in 2014, when Chicago police arrested the then 20-year-old Davis and charged them with misdemeanor battery using their birth name: James McDavis.
That case ended with a guilty plea and was the beginning of a series of criminal, gun and traffic charges and arrests, many of which ended with the cases dismissed.
Davis was also arrested with a loaded gun at a public transit station in the past.
The I-Team obtained records revealing METRA commuter rail police arrested Davis in 2019 with 9mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun, with one 9mm Luger hollow point bullet in the chamber and seven in the magazine. That case was dropped by Cook County prosecutors, court records show.
There was another gun arrest in 2021, also for a 9mm, when the weapon was found by Chicago police following a traffic accident. Again, the case was dropped by prosecutors.
The cases may have been dropped because Davis had a legal Illinois FOID card, according to CPD records.
And in the decade since the first arrest, even while Davis had multiple arrests, there was only one misdemeanor conviction connected to a looting incident.
Authorities now claim Davis roamed between two CTA train cars early Monday morning when he shot and killed four sleeping passengers.
Davis' first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday at noon.

Conservative estimates put the Venezuelan population in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex at at least 20,000-- many of them living in Villa Dallas.
In July 2023, the Dallas Police designated The Oaks as a habitual crime property and confirmed officers have increased their presence there.
'Our Neighborhood Police Officers are setting up a crime watch meeting to speak with tenants and address the crime in the area,' Dallas police said in a statement.
Law-abiding migrants who have the money to move out have already left, and those who don't try to keep their heads down and hope they don't get hit by a stray bullet or sucked into the violence.
Since Dallas police first moved in to crack down on crime in Villa Dallas, the apartment that was the center of the chaos is under new management, and many of the trouble markers have been forced out. However residents say the trouble makers have simply re-located, not left.

Now in Northern Mexico, TdA is once again taking advantage of desperate migrants. Gangsters are charging huge fees to smuggle migrants to the US border and then into Texas. However, the mobsters are also kidnapping migrants who have made it to the US-Mexico border without their help in a bid to make even more money.
'According to the security reports we have, this group of Venezuelans, Tren de Aragua, control which migrants can ride the train,' Mexico state prosecutor Carlos Manuel Salas said - referring to the many migrants who ride a top trains in Mexico to reach Juarez to avoid having to make the journey by foot.
Kidnapped migrants are often held captive in Juarez until TdA can get a ransom from the migrant's family back home, with many women forced into prostitution.

Later Wednesday, the IDF said that it struck a building in southern Lebanon’s Houla where several Hezbollah operatives were identified.
Eliezer Peretz, whose home in Kiryat Shmona was struck by a rocket, told the Walla news outlet that he had been in the northern city of Safed, where he runs a market stall, when he received a call from his municipality telling him that his home had taken a direct hit. Peretz said he had still not seen the damage but that officials told him it was heavy.
"This is really hard," Peretz said, explaining that it was a brand new home for him and his family.
"My wife and I put a lot of energy and money into it," he said. "This is a really harsh situation and you can’t get used to it."
"The important thing is that we are healthy and well," he said. "What was destroyed we will rebuild."
As a child growing up in the city, he said his parents’ home had also been hit by a rocket from Lebanon.
"I grew up in this reality," he said.
The Peretz family, along with the rest of Kirya Shmona, was evacuated to a hotel in Tiberias when fighting in the north started last year. Tens of thousands of northern residents were moved to safer areas and have still not returned to their homes.
Earlier Wednesday, the IDF said it struck a Hezbollah rocket launcher in southern Lebanon’s Zibqin, used in a previous attack on Israel. Buildings used by Hezbollah in Khiam and Ayta ash-Shab were also struck, the military added.
Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis. More than 8,000 rockets have been fired at Israel from Lebanon since the start of the war.
So far, the skirmishes have resulted in 26 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 20 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.
Hezbollah has named 432 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon but some also in Syria. Another 76 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier, and dozens of civilians have also been killed.

No fewer than eight persons were confirmed dead on Wednesday following two separate attacks by button men in the Congo and Zarap communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Among the victims was a member of the Community Peace Service in Bokkos identified as Kenneth Kadish.
It was gathered that one of the attacks occurred around 7 p.m. near the Congo community’s market, shortly after it had closed for the day.

"In Angwa Congo, residents were relaxing and enjoying themselves after the market day when armed assailants suddenly appeared and opened fire on those nearby. Six people were killed on the spot, and several others were maimed. Among the victims was Kenneth Kadish, a member of the Community Peace Service in Bokkos LGA.
"In the Zarap community, button men on cycle of violences shot and killed two individuals standing in front of their homes. Both attacks followed a similar pattern and occurred on Tuesday night."
The chairman condemned the attacks and confirmed that the incidents had been reported to security agencies. "We informed the authorities, as the attack on the Angwa Congo community took place close to a security checkpoint. They have inspected the site and begun investigating to identify and apprehend the perpetrators," Mallai added.

[Rudaw] An Iraqi migrant stabbed the manager of a hotel hosting asylum seekers to death in the northwestern German state of Lower Saxony, local media reported on Tuesday, amid rising anti-migration sentiment and right-wing parties in the country.
The suspect, identified as a 35-year-old Iraqi man, fatally stabbed 61-year-old Afghan native "Ahmed A." at the train station in the small town of Sarstedt in Germany’s Lower Saxony state on Monday, German newspaper BILD reported.
A, was found bleeding heavily at the train station and died from his wounds shortly after, while the assailant had expeditiously departed at a goodly pace and was later caught in an operation by German special forces.
The Afghan national moved to Germany 34 years ago and ran a small hotel that provided accommodation for asylum seekers. He leaves behind a wife and six children, according to BILD, which added the suspect had arrived in Germany two years ago.
The spokeswoman for Hildesheim, a nearby city whose prosecutor has jurisdiction over Sarstedt, described the incident as "tragic," on local public broadcaster NDR Media.
"Officials currently have no information on whether the incident will affect the operation of the refugee accommodation in Sarstedt," Birgit Wilken said. "We are continuing to collaborate with the relevant authorities."

German police launched widespread raids early on Wednesday targeting a suspected people-smuggling ring that's thought to have helped at least 140 people come to Germany via the Balkans illegally in exchange for payment.
A front man for the federal police said that the focal points of the operation were the eastern state of Thuringia and the city of Jena.

Police said that 15 of the 19 properties searched were in Thuringia, and 10 of them in Jena itself.
Individuals brought into the country were initially being housed in an apartment there, police said.
A total of roughly 340 officers mobilized across five states in all, including special GSG9 units in Jena, with searches also taking place further west in Baden-Wurttemberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and North Rhine-Westphalia.
"The goal of the measures was the discovery and seizure of evidence that could prove the crimes," police said of Wednesday's raids. "Documents, electronic storage devices, cash and other valuables were the focus."
WHAT POLICE SAID ABOUT THE ALLEGED GROUP AND SUSPECTS
Police said five men were arrested in Wednesday's operation — three Syrian nationals and two with Iraqi citizenship. All five were arrested in Thuringia. Three were detained in the city of Jena, one in Sondershausen and another in Bad Sulza.
Police said that in total the case involved 18 suspects, ranging from 23 to 57 years of age, from drivers up to the more organizational level.
"Investigations indicate that since December 2022 at least 140 people were transported to Germany by the group," police said in a statement. "The smugglers are thought to have demanded around €700 (roughly $775) for transportation to Germany from Slovakia." For continued transportation to another country neighboring Germany, they would charge a further €500, police said.
This was done in exchange for payment made via intermediaries using the informal so-called "Hawala" transfer system that is outlawed in Germany. Two Hawala intermediaries, known as hawaldar, are among the suspects.
Investigators identified and tracked down the suspects after intercepting several vans, the group's preferred method of transport, at the borders.
A core responsibility of Germany's federal police force, or Bundespolizei, is policing Germany's borders.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A man is accused of killing more than 80 farm animals during a disturbing shooting in rural California.
Salinas resident Vicente Joseph Arroyo, 39, allegedly committed the horrifying slaughter early on Tuesday morning over the course of three hours, before being found in a crashed car on the property by police.
His victims ranged in species from ponies and goats to guinea pigs, cops said - adding how a host of chickens, birds, rabbits and ducks, were killed as well.
A miniature horse was also murdered, as the bloodbath that caused residents nearby to take shelter still remains unexplained. It did, however, end with the suspect's arrest, and multiple long rifles, shotguns and handguns being found at the scene.
An illegal assault weapon was also seized from the weapons cache, as it was revealed some animals survived but were later euthanized. Police in Prunedale issued a statement detailing Arroyo's arrest.
'The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect after he began to randomly fire multiple weapons and killed approximately 80 animals during an approximate 3-hour period,' the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said.
'On Tuesday September 3rd at about 3:25am, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office began receiving multiple calls of numerous shots being fired.
'Deputies responded to the scene and upon arrival could hear shots continuing to be fired in the area. A shelter in place order was put into effect.'
The bulletin went on to reveal how 'various calibers of weapons could be heard being fired' during the event, which began in the dead of night as families slept.
The firing of hundreds of rounds from the weapons cache followed 'in an area that was extremely dark and covered in thick vegetation,' cops said.
'This made it difficult for deputies to immediately locate the person or persons responsible for firing the weapons.'
Because of this, assistance was requested from a Monterey County SWAT team, and a drone was deployed by the Seaside Fire Department and Gonzales Police Department, the sheriff's office said.
With use of the drone, the suspect and his crashed vehicle were observed within the property - a vineyard set along the 16000 block of Avery Lane, cops said.
The SWAT team proceeded to approach the suspect in an armored vehicle, statement said, and photos released by the sheriff's office showed Arroyo getting on his knees and surrendering.
Some animals survived but were taken by SPCA to be euthanized, cops revealed - citing the 'severity of their injuries.'
Whom the animals belonged to still remains unknown - as does Arroyo's motive and ties to the property in question.
Deputies also said that Arroyo - whose mugshot has yet to be released - may have recently moved to the rural area.
The local DA, meanwhile, said that Arroyo, depending on the exact amount of animals killed, could face 10 years in prison. Officials will not know the number until the case is submitted.
In the interim, Arroyo remains incarcerated on $50,000 bail.
He has been charged with willful discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, cruelty to animals, illegal possession of an assault weapon, vandalism, criminal threats and felon in possession of a firearm.
The suspect lived in a small trailer next to the property where the animals were being kept, Cmdr. Andres Rosas, Monterey County sheriff’s spokesperson, told the Chronicle. One of the miniature horses belonged to one person, while the rest of the 80 animals belonged to another person, who was renting the area from the horse owner.
Rosas said that both animal owners do not want to be identified and do not want to speak with the media at this time.
The property is a private piece of land that has no name and is not a farm, Rosas said, adding that the land had several animal pens constructed in which the animals lived.
Rosas told the Chronicle the suspect was not employed at the property.

Because they took the money from Americans, Brits, and Europeans and kept it for themselves, while leaving the people of Gaza in misery and poverty. Since 2005, there has been a complete counterfactual of what could have happened, but the Hxmas leadership didn’t want that. They’ve openly said they’re willing to use Palestinian children as human shields to manipulate world opinion. These are fanatics. They’re willing to sacrifice their own citizens to turn the world against Israel.
Again, how do you negotiate with that? The assumption in the West today is that because we’re so comfortable, we believe peace is the norm and historically expected. But that’s not true. We always think wars end with compromise and coming to the table, to use the cliché. But historically, most wars end because one side wins, and one side loses.
And one of the reasons, in my view, why there are endless rounds of conflict in this region is because Israel is never allowed to win, and Hxmas is always allowed to come out even. I think that simply sets up the next round of conflict. If Hxmas comes out of this with any fighting capability, then we will see another round of this war in a few years.
