Turkey starts bombing Kurds
[DailyMail] Turkey fires first shots: Ankara bombs Kurdish supply route ahead of invasion to create a 'peace corridor' along border just hours after Trump pulls US troops - as president reveals he has invited Erdogan to the White House next month
  • Turkey confirmed it carried out strikes against Kurdish forces on the Syria-Iraq border overnight Monday

  • Strike was designed to sever supply lines between Kurds in the two countries in preparation for invasion

  • Turkey plans to create a 'peace corridor' in northern Syria by driving Kurdish forces away from its border

  • Comes after Donald Trump agreed to withdraw U.S troops from Syria, but denied he abandoned the Kurds

  • Trump revealed on Tuesday that he has extended an invitation to Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to meet with him at the White House in November

  • He tweeted that Turkey was a 'good trading partner' of the U.S and 'have been very good to deal with'

Trudeau Rumored To Be In Talks To Suppress Potentially Career-Ending Sex Scandal
The only relevant question - was it with a guy or with a gal? Place your bets!
[Zero Hedge] - Somehow, the Liberal Party has managed to minimize the blowback from Justin Trudeau's 'blackface' scandal, and with two weeks to go until election day, is still well within the margin of error in most polls.

But there might be another scandal in the works. According to a report in the Buffalo Chronicle, the party is doing everything in its power to suppress a sex scandal involving Trudeau and the daughter of a wealthy Canadian businessman who Trudeau reportedly may have become involved with when she was a student at West Point Grey Academy, a prestigious private school where Trudeau worked as a substitute teacher in his 20s.
Looks like I lost that bet!
The Chronicle's sources claim that political observers had been anticipating an expose in Saturday's Globe and Mail. However, it appears Trudeau and his people have gotten to the woman, and are in the process of negotiating an NDA. The woman is being represented by counsel, and is reportedly being offered monetary compensation.
It's called 'hush money', jackass.
Trudeau worked as a substitute teacher at the private school from 1999 until an abrupt departure in June 2001. It has long been rumored that Trudeau had improper relations with female students while working at the school, though nothing has ever been substantiated.

The prime minister was briefly embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal after being accused of "groping" a reporter back in 2000. Trudeau swiftly acknowledged that he was wrong and apologized for groping the reporter.

But a sex scandal involving a potentially underage student would likely end his political career.
The ol' 'October Surprise' - couldn't have happened to a nicer effete wuss soyboy guy.

Syrian sources claim Turkey attacked in Iraq, not Syria
[Jpost] The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights denied a report
No, no! Certainly not!
by Syrian state news agency SANA earlier on Monday evening claiming that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
had conducted Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in Syria against the Syrian Democratic Forces. According to the SOHR, the airstrikes hit targets in Iraq.

A White House official stated later on Monday night that the US has not seen any signs of a Ottoman Turkish operation in Syria yet, according to Steve Herman, a news hound from Voice of America news.

"It appears the Turks are intent on some sort of military operation, possibly combined with an effort to resettle refugees," said the White House official.

There are only 50 to 100 "special operators" in the region who the US does not want endangered if the Turks come over the border to engage with the Kurds. "This does not constitute a withdrawal from Syria," said the official to Herman, adding that the US does not endorse any Ottoman Turkish operation in Syria.

A U.S. official said that no one that needed to know could have been blindsided by the move to withdraw troops, as Trump discussed the move with senior advisors.

The commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Gen. Mazloum Kobane, told NBC news that they didn't expect the withdrawal at all. He received a call at 3 a.m. on Monday informing him of the decision.

Last December, Trump announced that the US would completely withdraw from Syria, but US officials convinced him to reverse the decision.

Ottoman Turkish forces carried out attacks against Kurdish forces and the anti-Assad Syrian Democratic Forces militia near the Ottoman Turkish border on Monday evening. Ottoman Turkish forces attacked SDF positions in the city of al-Malikiyah in the Hasakah area in northern Syria, reported SANA on Monday evening. The SDF includes Kurds and others in eastern Syria which the US has helped train, assist and advise during the war on ISIS
...embracing their inner Islamic Brute...
The Ottoman Turkish Air Force "neutralized" three PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) members in northern Iraq on Monday, according to the Ottoman Turkish National Defense Ministry, reported the Ottoman Turkish Anadolu Agency. The attacks were carried out in the Gara region near the Turkey-Iraq border.

Turkey will move forward with its long-planned military operation to create what it calls a "safe zone" in northern Syria and U.S. forces will not support or be involved in it, the White House press secretary announced early Monday morning.
The forces realign:
The SDF withdrew from an oil field in the Deir ez-Zor area and headed towards the Ottoman Turkish border on Monday, according to the SOHR. The SDF lead protests against Iranian-backed militias in the Deir ez-Zor area in September.

The SOHR recorded a high alert level among the SDF in the Hasakah area due to concerns about a possible imminent Ottoman Turkish invasion.

"Turkey’s unprovoked attack on our areas will have a negative impact on our fight against ISIS and the stability and peace we have created in the region in the recent years," said the SDF in a press statement. "As the Syrian Democratic Forces, we are determined to defend our land at all costs."

Iran's foreign minister on Monday backed Syrian illusory sovereignty and opposed military action in a phone call with his Ottoman Turkish counterpart, state media said, after a U.S. pull-back of troops in northeast Syria appeared to open the way to a Ottoman Turkish attack.

"(Mohammad Javad) Zarif, opposed military action and emphasized respect for Syria's territorial integrity and national illusory sovereignty and the need to fight terrorism and bring stability and security to Syria," state broadcaster IRIB said, about the phone call with Turkey's Mevlut Cavusoglu.

In a phone call on Monday, Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu assured Zarif that the planned operation in Syria was only a "temporary measure," according to Sputnik news.

Afghanistan
Asim Umar, Chief of AQIS Reported Toes Up in Afghanistan
[TheHindu] Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security said Umar was a Pakistani citizen, though some reports claim he was born in India.

The leader of al-Qaeda’s South Asian branch was killed in a U.S.-Afghan joint raid in southern Afghanistan in September, Afghan officials confirmed on October 8.

Asim Umar
...chief of al-Qaeda's Sharia Committee for Pakistain, named head of al-Qaeda in India. His video appearances are frequently accompanied by clips of al Qaeda's senior propagandist in Pakistan, Ahmad Farooq. Umar the author of The Army of Anti-Christ: Blackwater, Documentation of the Dreadful Terrorist Activities of America's Blackwater in Islamic Countries...
, who led al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) from its inception in 2014, was killed during a raid September 23 on a Taliban compound in the Musa Qala district of Helmand Province.
Many Thanks, noble warriors !
Afghanistan's National Directorate of Security said Umar was a Pakistani citizen, though some reports claim he was born in India.

He "was killed along with six other AQIS members, most of them Pakistani", the NDS tweeted, adding that Umar had been "embedded" with the Taliban.

The raid was part of a lengthy and confusing overnight operation between September 22 and 23 for which the U.S. provided air support.

Authorities said they would investigate reports that 40 civilians, including children, were killed in an air strike during the operation.

The NDS said that among the six other AQIS members killed in the raid was a man identified as "Raihan", a courier for al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

U.S. forces in Afghanistan declined to comment.

Under a stalled withdrawal plan negotiated between the U.S. and the Taliban, Washington agreed to pull troops from Afghanistan if the insurgents abide by security guarantees and cut all ties with al-Qaeda.

Andrew McCarthy: If the House won't vote, impeachment inquiry is just a Democratic stunt
[FOX] "The House of Representatives ... shall have the sole Power of Impeachment."

It’s right there in black-and-white: In article I, section 2, clause 5, our Constitution vests the entirety of the power to call for removal of the president of the United States in a single body ‐ the House.

Not in the speaker of the House. In the House of Representatives. The institution, not one of its members.

It is not for the Speaker and her adjutants to decree that there is an inquiry.

To be sure, Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a very powerful government official: second in the line of succession to the presidency; arguably, the most powerful member of Congress. She wields decisive influence on the business of her chamber. She even has the power to induce the House to vote on whether to conduct an impeachment inquiry.

But she does not have the power to impeach on her own.

In the end, Speaker Pelosi is just one member, a representative elected biannually by one district (in her case, the 12th district of California, centered in San Francisco and not particularly representative of the nation at large). Sure, she enjoys primus inter pares status because she is chosen by a majority of the House’s 435 members. But like each of those other members, her vote counts as just one ‐ in a body that generally requires 218 votes to get the important things done.

#2  Mr. Schiff, etal, are trying to hide their actions from everyone, not just Trump supporters.

And there is a reason for this.

Mr. Trump is now painting the Progs into a corner they *really* don't want to be in. Prog supporters are going to increase the volume of their demands for a *real* impeachment, not impeachment lite.

And a vote will have to be held.

VDH - The Death of American Citizenship
[National Review] Migrants from Honduras approach the U.S.-Mexico border fence in Tijuana, Mexico, December 26, 2018. (Mohammed Salem/Reuters) Open borders and sanctuary cities are blurring the distinction between illegal immigrants and Americans, and activist judges are eroding the Bill of Rights.

The American Founders institutionalized the best of a long Western tradition of representative government, with the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. These contracts outlined the rare privileges and responsibilities of new American citizens.

Yet the concept of citizenship is being assaulted on the premodern side by the legal blending of mere residency with citizenship.

Estimates on the number of
ILLEGAL ALIENS
undocumented American residents range from 11 million to more than 20 million. The undocumented are becoming legally indistinguishable from citizens and enjoy exemption from federal immigration law in some 500 sanctuary jurisdictions. An illegal resident of California will pay substantially less tuition at a California public university than will a U.S. citizen of another state.

Multiculturalism has reduced the idea of e pluribus unum to a regressive tribalism. Americans often seem to owe their first allegiance to those who look like they do. Citizens cannot even agree over once-hallowed and shared national holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the Fourth of July.

It is eerie how such current American retribalization resembles the collapse of Rome, as Goths, Huns, and Vandals all squabbled among themselves over what was left of 1,200 years of Roman citizenship ‐ eager to destroy what they could neither create nor emulate.

We'll all be born residents, citizenship will be earned by exam, taking of oath of loyalty, and registration with the militia with the fundamental right to own and bear arms. Only citizens may vote or hold elected or appointed governmental positions.

Of course, if you are called upon and refuse, you're shipped back to resident status (or convicted of commission of high crimes). When you are release from the militia, usually age 45 you return to resident status as well, unless you have the equivalent of a DD-214 with an original discharge status of general or honorable service. Those keep it for life unless they commit one of those high crimes thingies.

#6  Kind of ironic that the assault on citizenship is coming from the left.

Citizenship is the foundation of a democratic republic and the antidote to slavery, to monarchy, to oligarchy.

Citizenship is what the civil rights movement was all about.

Today's woke morons have no understanding of citizenship, civil rights or republican or democratic values. They're just stooges for oligarchs.
Posted by: Lex || 10/08/2019 13:13 Comments || Top||

#7  For the left, it's always been about distributing the fruits of one group's efforts to an undeserving, but malleable second group.

Only now, it's not solely about property, but the patrimony itself.

Navy CO Was Fired Over 'Repeated, Vigorous and Obvious False Statements:' Investigation
Diversity is our strength.
[Mil.com] Investigators probing several allegations of wrongdoing by a Navy officer say they were met with a "disturbing lack of candor," leading them to doubt the validity of the commander's testimony and causing his admiral to question his professionalism.

Cmdr. Jesus "Manny" Cordero, who was relieved of command as the head of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Sicily last fall, refused to take responsibility for even minor infractions when investigators began looking into several complaints against him, according to a command investigation and endorsement letter, obtained by Military.com through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Vice Adm. Timothy "T.J." White, who relieved Cordero of his duties in September 2018, said the commander made "repeated, vigorous and obvious false statements" during an investigation into his behavior. Those actions severely compromised Cordero's integrity and judgment as a leader," White wrote in a Sept. 27, 2018, relief letter.

White then warned Cordero against contacting any member of his former command or taking "any action in retaliation against any member of NCTS Sicily, or any other member as a result of the relief."

I've known budget trimming assholes like him.
Painting rocks on the airfield and raking the parade ground when the command center roof leaks. Restricting use of diesel to the motor pool when the only power you have is a Korean war vintage 50kw generator. Reducing mess hall hours to day shift and yesterday's bag lunches when you run a 24x7 operation. Cutting the base weekend bus schedule to reduce contract driver's hours. Closing the guard post and gate access to officer housing because there's too much traffic. Prioritizing access to the base laundry so enlisted wash their clothes at midnight. Closing the base exchange but giving pilots after hour passes as 'merit' recognition. Expanding the Oclub to include a dance floor when the Enlisted socialize in a empty warehouse with the doors chained shut. Motherfuckers.

Biden, son could be forced to testify in Trump impeachment trial
[Washington Times] Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden and his son Hunter could be forced to testify if the Senate ends up holding an impeachment trial of President Trump, say congressional aides who questioned whether Democrats have thought through the full implications of their impeachment drive.

Not only could Mr. Biden be forced to be in D.C. at a critical moment in the presidential campaign, but so could many of his chief rivals ‐ the half-dozen senators also vying for Democrats’ presidential nomination, impeachment experts said.

For that matter, if the House chooses to impeach Mr. Trump on charges stemming from the special counsel’s Russia investigation, aides said it could open the door to witnesses such as fired FBI Agent Peter Strzok or even major figures from the Obama administration.

Mr. Trump could even be present for the entire spectacle. Experts said the Senate would have a hard time refusing him if he demanded to confront the witnesses against him.

"I don’t think the Dems have thought this through at all," one staffer told The Washington Times.

They just want to have the illusion of an impeachment and drag it out to election time if they can. They don't want the Biden stuff to come out. One of Hunters partners in his Ukraine business was Whitey Bulger's nephew. The DNC's role in Ukraine would come out as well as Obama's role in this corruption. How the Hobbs Act Could Sink Joe Biden
[AmericanThinker] To say the drive-by media have circled the wagons for Joe Biden is putting it mildly. Every day, in print and on their TV broadcasts, they thunder that there is no evidence! He broke no laws when his son raked off millions of dollars from China and Ukraine for no-show jobs. Even New Jersey's most famous traffic judge seems to be confused. A guy in Ukraine also posits that Biden broke no laws there, either, as if there were really any laws to break in that wild West corruption show.

But as an American lawyer, who often has to advise public officials on state and federal ethics laws, I can say yes, just by the public record we already have, Joe Biden, his son, their bag-man Devon Archer, and possibly John Kerry likely violated 18 USC 1951, the dreaded Hobbs Act, the federal anti-extortion law. Hobbs has a really nasty bite to it for public officials, because it prohibits not just bribery, but merely the collecting of political tribute under color of official right.

A couple of important things to remember about Hobbs: "Color of official right" applies only to public officials while they are in office. This guy, for example, is very confused, mixing up Jeb Bush's sleazy fundraising while out of office with Hillary's activities in and out of office. It would apply to Hillary, for example, only during the time she was secretary of state. Also, the illegal payoff money can go to a close relative or associate, or even a charity, if there is enough of a connection to the accused, like the Clinton Foundation scam. Anybody assisting the public official in the pay-offs would also be guilty of conspiracy, at the very least.

Energy Company Says Their Solar Power Program Is Increasing NOx Pollution
h/t Instapundit
Duke Energy, a North Carolina energy company, has asked for a waiver of the state’s emission standards because their solar power production spews more pollution into the atmosphere than its natural gas production.

...
Under its current permits in the heavily regulated market, Duke must completely shut down the backup combustion turbines when solar peaks under a full sun, then restart them when the sun recedes.

(...)Without any solar power in the mix, "a typical combined cycle combustion turbine emits NOx at approximately 9-11 lb/hr, assuming 24 hours of ’normal’ operation," Crawford said. That is equivalent to 264 pounds of NOx emissions daily. When those same plants are operated to supplement solar power facilities, daily emissions more than double to 624 pounds a day, based on a table in Duke’s application.

Venezuelans turn to alternative medicine amid shortages
[MedicalXpress] The small waiting room at the home of self-styled healer "Brother Guayanes" in Caracas' rundown Petare district fills up quickly with patients—business has never been better.

With Venezuela's chronic medicine shortages and hyperinflation, more and more people are turning to alternative medicine to treat common ailments in the crisis-wracked South American country.

"We go to the hospital and there's nothing there. They don't have medicines, or they're too expensive, what are we to do?" said Rosa Saez, 77, who has come to get treatment for a painful arm.

Carlos Rosales—he uses the more ceremonious "Brother Guayanes" for his business—is finishing up a "spiritual intervention" on a patient in what passes for his surgery.

The patient lies, eyes closed, on a cot as, in a series of swishes and clicks, the healer waves five pairs of scissors one after another over his prone body.

Syria Could be Turkey's Vietnam
h/t Instapundit
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s is once again threatening to invade northeastern Syria and, late Sunday night, President Donald Trump greenlighted a Turkish operation. While Erdogan has threatened to send troops into the Kurdish-governed area more than a dozen times before, this time he appears serious: His economy is teetering, he suffered a blow to his prestige when the opposition party won Istanbul twice, and he is in desperate need of a distraction.

Erdogan may talk about a terror threat emanating from northern Syria, but he has yet to prove that one exists. Quite the contrary: Not only were Syrian Kurds the most effective indigenous fighting force against the Islamic State, there is also overwhelming evidence that Turkey cooperated, profited from, and at times coordinated with Syria’s Al Qaeda affiliates and the Islamic State.

...Erdogan may be cocky, but he could be falling into a trap. Turkey’s drones may give it a qualitative military edge in mountains and rural regions but may be of substantially less utility in the northern Syrian cities if limiting collateral damage is any concerns. The Kurds have extensive experience fighting on the ground. Meanwhile, recent political purges of the Turkish military make the Turkish Army a shell of its former self.

...Even if the Turkish military makes initial gains, Erdogan’s greatest mistake may be his belief that a fight between Turkey and Syrian Kurds will remain limited to that. Turkey has engaged in proxy warfare in the Gaza Strip, Libya, and political warfare against Saudi Arabia.

...Turkish forces might march into Syria with the arrogance that the Red Army invaded Afghanistan, or the United States entered Vietnam. As both Moscow and Washington both learned, getting in was far easier than getting out.

Erdogan may believe striking a blow against Kurds while confiscating their oil is a win for Turkey, but he is wrong. He is simply opening the door for a war of attrition Turkey cannot afford and which it ultimately might lose.

Intel Community IG Stonewalling Congress On Backdated Whistleblower Rule Changes
[The Federalist] Michael Atkinson, the inspector general for U.S. intelligence agencies, acknowledged that his office secretly changed key whistleblower forms and rules in September, but refused to explain to lawmakers why those changes were backdated to August.

In tense testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) on Friday, the inspector general for federal spy agencies refused to disclose why his office backdated secret changes to key whistleblower forms and rules in the wake of an anti-Trump whistleblower complaint filed in August, sources told The Federalist.

As The Federalist reported and the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) confirmed, the spy watchdog secretly changed its whistleblower forms and internal rules in September to eliminate a requirement that whistleblowers provide first-hand evidence to support any allegations of wrongdoing. In a press release last week, the ICIG confessed that it changed its rules in response to an anti-Trump complaint filed on August 12. That complaint, which was declassified and released by President Donald Trump in September, was based entirely on second-hand information, much of which was shown to be false following the declassification and release of a telephone conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Michael Atkinson, the intelligence community inspector general, told HPSCI lawmakers during a committee oversight hearing on Friday that the whistleblower forms and rules changes were made in September, even though the new forms and guidance, which were not uploaded to the ICIG’s website until September 24, state that they were changed in August. Despite having a full week to come up with explanations for his office’s decisions to secretly change its forms to eliminate the requirement for first-hand evidence and to backdate those changes to August, Atkinson refused to provide any explanation to lawmakers baffled by his behavior.

‘Very small number' of troops pulled from Syria-Turkey border: US official
[Times of Israel] The United States has pulled back a "very small number" of troops from areas of northern Syria along the Turkish border, a senior State Department official says, after US President Donald Trump seemed to indicate a wider retreat.

The pullback only concerns "two very small detachments" ‐ meaning less than 25 people in total ‐ that have been moved a "very short distance," the official says.

The announcement of the redeployment was interpreted as an American green light for a Turkish military operation against Kurdish forces in northeast Syria.

But the State Department official insists that Trump had clearly told Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the US did not endorse any such operation ‐ a message also conveyed by the Pentagon.

"We think this operation is a very bad idea. We do not think this operation will provide more security," the official says.

He says that, beyond the small pullback of troops, "there’s no change to our military posture in the northeast."

Fox Confirms Whistleblower Did Not Tell IG About Contacts With Schiff, Had Prior Working Relationship With Dem Politician
[Weasel Zippers] Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, in testimony to House lawmakers about the whistleblower complaint on President Trump’s controversial phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart, could not explain what accounted for the 18-day window between the July 25 call and the Aug. 12 complaint filing ‐ or when exactly the whistleblower contacted a key Democrat’s staff, sources familiar with the testimony told Fox News.

The whistleblower’s contact with Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff’s staff before filing the complaint in mid-August has prompted renewed scrutiny of Schiff.

The top Democrat previously said "we have not spoken directly to the whistleblower," but his office later revised the claim, saying that Schiff himself "does not know the identity of the whistleblower, and has not met with or spoken with the whistleblower or their counsel" for any reason.

Sources familiar with Atkinson’s closed-door, transcribed interview Friday with members of the House Intelligence Committee also noted that Atkinson said the whistleblower did not disclose the contact ‐ during that 18-day window ‐ with Schiff’s office, as Fox News first reported Friday. Sources said Atkinson testified that the whistleblower, in filing the complaint, left "blank" a section in which he or she could have disclosed that congressional contact.

Atkinson revealed that his only knowledge of the contact came from media reports, sources said.

Sources further have told Fox News that Atkinson revealed the whistleblower volunteered he or she was a registered Democrat and had a prior working relationship with a prominent Democratic politician. Attorneys for the whistleblower at the firm Compass Rose did not respond to requests for comment on this work history or on the lack of disclosure about the contact with Schiff’s office.

After Trump, We're Next
[American Thinker] The Democrats in 2016 graciously gave Americans the opportunity to do as we were told and vote for Hillary Clinton. And just as we so many times disappointed Barack Obama, we failed them as well, proving our illegitimacy as a citizenry.

Electing Trump was the last straw for them ‐ plastic, of course, paper is for us rabble. They used to want only our money, but since we elected Trump, they’ve decided to come for everything else we enjoy as free citizens of the Republic.

Trump is all that stands between the America we cherish and the left’s policies for "fundamentally transforming the United States of America." They know that for us, 2020 is a "Flight 93" election and impeaching Trump on what is the thinnest of gruel, and arguably the finest example of projection today, is a last-ditch effort to either depose him or damage him enough politically to make him unelectable come next November.

With the media, their unctuous allies in scurrility, the left knows every specious allegation will be portrayed as fact in every article, on every news panel, and in every talking-head utterance. It used to be the "big lie." Now it is a million little lies told by a camarilla of politicians and skirling media that they hope will rid the left of their Orange Man bane.

The left must make sure that someone like Trump never happens again, should they succeed at deposing Trump, or better yet, damaging him to the point where he loses in 2020, for defeating him at the polls can be trumpeted as the "will of the people."

They will take our citizenship. Citizens have the right to vote and that is something they can’t fully rig until they accumulate enough power to implement democracy as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan understands democracy: "One election, once." Instead, they are honing the art of cheating and weakening election integrity efforts while flooding the country with enough illegal aliens to negate our vote and guarantee eternal leftist primacy. In short, they will replace us with a more compliant citizenry.

Police release man who brought a knife into a Berlin synagogue
[Jpost] Police have released a knife-wielding Syrian refugee who had to be subdued by pepper spray by security guards outside a Berlin synagogue after he crossed its security barrier.

Investigators said they had to release the man, a 23-year-old from Damascus, because they did not have enough evidence to charge him with a crime at this point. The investigation is ongoing, according to the state Prosecutor’s Office.

The response was woefully inadequate and even dangerous, Josef Schuster, head of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, said in a statement Monday. He said the violent nature of Friday’s incident prior to Shabbat services at the historic Neue Synagogue should have merited a tougher response.

A "dangerous man" is now on the lam, he said.

According to a statement from the Prosecutor’s Office, two security guards drew guns on the man, identified by police as Murad M., after he crossed the security barrier, but he did not respond to their order to drop his knife and continued mumbling in Arabic. Local media reported that he said "God is great" in Arabic, a phrase often used by Arab terrorists.
“Allahu akhbar,” said Murad M. to the volunteer guards while they awaited the arrival of the police, and “Fuck Israel.” The motivation seems brutally clear to me, but then I believe open threats, unsubtle naif that I am.
Police subdued the man using pepper spray. He dropped the knife and was arrested.

The man has a residency permit ending in December 2020 and did not have a prior police record.
No wonder, when he is released without charge for so blatantly illegal behaviour. It’s as if no one wanted any official record to suggest he might ever become a problem.
On Saturday morning, the man was released after a search of his apartment initially failed to turn up any evidence for a motive.

#4  So is it in France, EC. Didn't save the police.

Isn't enough for the media to write and speak against the bureaucratic largesse to muslims. It is the people themselves who need to protect their country. Weapons and laws are not enough to protect people. What it requires most is public intent.

I've seen third world villagers mob an armed posse of sasquatches and beat them to death with sticks and shovels. When the police came to 'rescue them', they were beaten too !

I think Austrians are faring better in that regard. The populations of the west have become easy targets because of lax immigration control, zero protection of the citizen against the 'affirmatively' privileged diversity, and disconnected leaders with no accountability.

The elites flaying and screaming is only making it worse — you’re going to see things that will make you wonder why on Earth good American boys died in WWII. Because we’re about to get National Socialism, the sequel. Iraqi police to replace army in Baghdad neighborhood
[Ynet] Iraq's army command says the prime minister has ordered that police replace the army in a heavily populated Shiite neighborhood of Baghdad where dozens were killed or maimed in festivities over the weekend.

This comes after a week of violence gripping Iraq has left more than 100 dead and thousands maimed.

Monday's order for the withdrawal of the army from Sadr City appears aimed at calming tensions in the neighborhood, where a populist Shiite holy man enjoys wide support.

New Law Requires You To Listen To Greta Thunberg Lecture Before Purchasing Gasoline
[Babylon Bee] U.S.‐A series of new bills working their way through state legislatures in New York, California, Oregon, Hawaii, and several other progressive states will require you to listen to a Greta Thunberg lecture before purchasing gasoline.

Motorists will be required to watch a 20-minute lecture by the 16-year-old climate activist before they purchase gallons and gallons of harmful fossil fuels.

"We want to make sure drivers are informed," said California Governor Gavin Newsom, who says he will sign the bill into law. "So we are having them get lectured by a 16-year-old so they will have all the facts before they do something rash like put gasoline in their cars to go to work."

Once the driver has listened to Thunberg's entire lecture, they will be prompted to complete a quick, fifteen-question quiz to show they understand how horrible they are for driving a car. Drivers who get at least 80% will then be allowed to refuel their vehicles. As they refuel, the screen will simply play a clip of Thunberg saying, "How dare you!" over and over again.

The law will not apply to celebrities purchasing jet fuel.

FBI verifies Samuel Little murder confessions, says he is worst serial killer in US history
[The Hill] The FBI on Monday verified confessions provided by convicted murderer Samuel Little and certified him as the most prolific known serial killer in U.S. history, according to the bureau.

Authorities have verified 50 of the 93 killings Little, 79, has confessed to and are seeking help to confirm the unverified confessions, the FBI said Monday. Little has confessed to killings ranging from 1970 to 2005.

"For many years, Samuel Little believed he would not be caught because he thought no one was accounting for his victims," said Christie Palazzolo, an analyst with the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program. "Even though he is already in prison, the FBI believes it is important to seek justice for each victim‐to close every case possible."

Little evaded justice by maintaining a nomadic lifestyle and targeting sex workers and drug addicts, knowing that their murders would be less likely to be investigated. Many of his victims’ deaths were initially believed to be the result of overdoses.

Little was already serving three consecutive life sentences after his conviction for killing three Los Angeles-area women, and he pleaded guilty to killing another in Texas when he made the confession last year. He was extradited to Texas last year after pleading guilty to killing Denise Christie Brothers in 1994 and will likely spend the remainder of his life there.

Chinese muslims reveal rapes, abortions, forced sterilisations 'using chilli paste' at 'concentration camps' as footage emerges of 100s of shackled and blindfolded prisoners
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Muslim women who have fled China's 'concentration camps' have revealed a world of rapes, abortions and sterilisations as they find refuge abroad.

It comes as shocking footage emerged allegedly showing hundreds of shackled and blindfolded Muslim prisoners being transferred in Xinjiang, western China. UN experts and activists say at least one million ethnic Uighurs and other Muslims are held in the detention centres in Xinjiang.

China describes them as 'training centres' helping to stamp out extremism and give people new skills. But the escaped women and local rights groups say attempts to curb the Muslim population - using methods such as rubbing chilli paste on women's privates - are common.

Student Ruqiye Perhat, who was arrested in Xinjiang in 2009 and spent four years in prison before fleeing to Turkey, told the Washington Post: 'Any woman or man under age 35 was raped and sexually abused.'

And others who have fled the camp more recently claimed the rapes had become more systematic than in normal prisons. The camps' guards would 'put bags on the heads of the ones they wanted' before dragging the women outside and raping them through the night.

In one case, a human rights activists claimed there had been seven instances of women forced into having intrauterine devices implanted. And it was claimed women who were pregnant when they were arrested were made to have brutal abortions. Gulzira Mogdyn, 38, who fled to Almaty, Kazakhstan, told of the gruesome way officials cut her open and ripped out her fetus without anaesthetic.

Others have previously said the Chinese guards would also medically experiment on them ahead of planned organ harvesting.

#3  No way of knowing if it's just muslim 'boo hoo hoo' or true. The truth is, we only have a muslim's word for it. Which ain't jack shit.

China is perfectly right on the Uighur score. They knew the rapid rise of islamists after 9/11 had increased morale enough to fuel jihad as far as the orient. So they contained their 'islamist types', effectively quarantining them away, with a media blackout. There they are desperately using everything from psychology to neurochemistry to alter the minds of the Turkic savages.

Every sane country should have done this right after 9/11. The islamists are only empowered by our inability to meet them halfway on the path to inhumanity. Some evils can only be fought with evil. Islam is one such evil. Nobody cried 'oh humanity' when soldiers had to burn, execute and bomb germans to victory, or the use of agent orange or hiroshima.

Sometimes, violence is necessary.

Dick's Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack virtue signals
[Breitbart] Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack told CBS News that his company destroyed $5 million worth of "assault-style rifles" to keep them out of private hands.

Dick’s announced a halt to "assault-style rifles" two weeks after the February 14, 2018, Parkland high school shooting.

On April 17, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Dick’s was destroying its "assault-style rifle" inventory, rather than returning the firearms to their manufacturers. Fox News quoted a spokesperson from Dick’s saying, "We are in the process of destroying all firearms and accessories that are no longer for sale as a result of our February 28th policy change. We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations."

During his October 6, CBS News appearance, CEO Ed Stack said the company ended up destroying $5 million worth of "assault-style rifles."

Stack also admitted the Dick’s gun control stance has resulted in "a quarter of a billion [dollars]" in loses. But Stack does not regret the gun control stance. Rather, he is considering taking the company even further down the gun control path.

As of right now, 100 Dick’s stores no longer sell guns of any kind. Stack is thinking about expanding that policy so that no Dick’s store sells a gun.

Iraqi army admits using 'excessive force' against protesters
[THEBAGHDADPOST] The Iraqi military has acknowledged for the first time that some of its troops used "excessive force" against unarmed protesters as the corpse count from six days of anti-government protests

The statement came after at least 15 people were killed overnight in Sadr City, a densely populated Shia neighbourhood of Baghdad, where security forces fired live ammunition at crowds of demonstrators.

Adel Abdel Mahdi, Iraq’s embattled prime minister, ordered the army to withdraw from Sadr City after the killings and be replaced by police units.

"Excessive force outside the rules of engagement was used and we have begun to hold accountable those commanding officers who carried out these wrong acts," the military said in a statement.
"Our bad"
The acknowledgement came as social media was flooded with videos of Iraqi troops opening fire on unarmed demonstrators. One video appeared to show the military firing a rocket at a crowd of protesters.

Thai court approves detention of suspected militant
[Bangkok Post] A Thai court on Friday approved the Department of Special Investigation's (DSI) request to further detain for questioning a suspected militant who was arrested on Thursday after 14 years in hiding.

Mahamarormuelee Samae, a resident of Yala province, was taken into custody by the DSI in Pattani's Nong Chik district, where he was interviewed about bomb and gun attacks in Pattani's Khok Pho district last month. The 56-year-old suspect was accused of conspiring with others in recruiting people for the Barisan Revolusi Nasional (BRN) and wanted by the DSI for his alleged involvement in insurgency activities between 1993-2004.

Mr Mahamarormuelee is also accused of being involved in the Sept 16 attacks on a teacher protection unit in Khok Pho district in which two people were killed and four others injured. It is alleged that he procured mobile phones and SIM cards for the attackers. Police found one of the SIM cards at the scene and traced it to Mr Mahamarormuelee, a religious teacher at a school in Satun.

On Friday, the Criminal Court approved his detention for 12 days, from Oct 4-15.

Lawmaker Wants To Make Gun-Free Zones Liable If Someone Hurt
[MichiganCapitolConfidential] State Rep. Gary Eisen, R-St. Clair Township, introduced House Bill 4975, which would revoke governmental immunity from lawsuits arising from injuries sustained on government property where guns are banned. Eisen is also the sponsor of House Bill 4976, which would make a government, business or individual that designates a property a gun-free zone responsible for the safety of individuals who enter it.

Eisen said the intention was to require a business or government that enforces a gun-free policy to take responsibility through measures like hiring security guards.

You rely on hate, not reason and certainly not reconciliation. Dehumanizing your opponent desensitizes your supporters which encourages them to commit acts of violence and atrocities. These are hateful accusations that you make. Do not be surprised when the hate comes back at you. It is one of the first steps toward war. Cory Booker Warns Trump: 'If You Come After Joe Biden, You're Going to Have to Deal with Me'
[TOWNHALL] Presidential candidate Sen. Cory Spartacus Booker
U.S. Senator-for-Life from Noo Joisey, formerly the mayor of Newark. Booker is a candidate for president in 2020, running on a platform of Make America Newark. He once wrote an essay on how to grope babes. He is noted for having an imaginary friend named T-Bone...
(D-NJ) said if President Trump continues his attacks against former Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'...
with regards to Ukraine, he is going to have to go through him.
"I'm like...4-PLY Tissue, man!"
Trump has accused Biden of trying to stop an investigation into the Ukrainian gas company where his son, Hunter, was a board member.

"Senator, if the overwhelming issue is President Trump must be defeated, do you feel you and other Democrats must be doing more to speak in one voice that Joe Biden’s family is off-limits?" CNN anchor Ana Cabrera asked on Sunday.

"I’ve said time and time again that this is unacceptable, that if you come after Joe Biden you’re going to have to deal with me in this case," Booker said. "These are baseless, unfounded, scurrilous lies plain and simple, trying to undermine the character of one of the statesman of our country, not our party but our country."

John Brennan Complains He's Being 'Pilloried As an Example of the Deep State'
[CNSNEWS] Republicans have questioned, and continue to question, whether the Obama intelligence community used foreigners -- from Australia, Italia and the United Kingdom -- to spy on the Trump campaign. Did they outsource spying, in other words.

That is part of what Connecticut Attorney General John Durham is investigating, at the request of Attorney General William Barr.

But in a very sympathetic interview with former CIA Director John Brennan
...director of the CIA under the Obama administration. One of the deeper dwelling denizens of the Deep State, possibly even the guy who lit the match that launched the Russiagate coup attempt...
, NBC's Chuck Todd never asked difficult questions about the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation and Brennan's possible role in it.

Instead, Todd told Brennan, "You have been completely character assassinated -- and eviscerated. And it doesn't matter whether the people like you or hate you, I think everybody can agree, you have been put through this. Do you understand how you got here?"
Not sleeping well, Comrade?
Brennan, a dedicated Trump hater, blamed Trump:

Well, I think it all goes back to Mr. Trump and his dishonesty and his complete obliteration of the norms of honesty in terms of his public statements. He was the one who started the birther conspiracy as far as Barack Obama
My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it...
was concerned. He has continued to fabricate information, and clearly Senator Johnson is running scared of Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
as are the other Republican senators, because if they say anything against him, he comes after them with a vengeance.

So, he is the typical bully. And so now I have become, you know, being pillaried as an example of the deep state.

Taliban release 3 Indian engineers, insurgents say
[DAWN] The Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
have released three Indian engineers who were kidnapped in Afghanistan last year, Taliban sources told AFP on Monday, as part of an apparent prisoner swap that saw 11 fighters released.

In May 2018, the Taliban seized six Indian engineers who were working on a power plant project in Baghlan in northern Afghanistan, along with their Afghan driver.

Taliban officials in several different locations told AFP on condition of anonymity that three of the engineers were released in Baghlan province on Sunday.

The whereabouts of the others were not immediately clear.

Details about the swap, and who coordinated it, were also unclear, with the Afghan government, the Indian embassy in Kabul and the United States military in Afghanistan all declining comment.

In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...

Security Council (UNSC) to bring up the subject of Pyongyang’s recent missile tests, which are "self-defensive measures."

North Korea's UN Ambassador Kim Song made the warning on Monday.

Germany, La Belle France and Britannia have called for a closed-door UNSC meeting on Tuesday to raise the issue of North Korea’s test last week of a sea-launched ballistic missile.

The trio claimed that the North’s missile test had been a "serious violation" of UN resolutions. The discussion at the 15-member council was requested by Germany with the support of Britannia and La Belle France.

Addressing a small group of news hounds at Pyongyang’s UN mission, the North Korean diplomat warned that raising the issue "will further urge our desire to defend our illusory sovereignty."

"We know well that the United States is behind impure moves of the UK, La Belle France and Germany," Kim said, adding that Washington and its followers "should bear in mind that if they raise the issue of our self-defensive measures at the UN Security Council meeting in this moment, it will further urge our desire to defend our illusory sovereignty."

Russian military increases presence in northern Aleppo to block potential Turkish Army operation
Oh? Fascinating.
[ALMASDARNEWS] A Russian military convoy was spotted patrolling the area around the key town of Tal Rifa’at, which is jointly controlled by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG).

According to an army source in the Aleppo Governorate, the Russian Armed Forces have recently increased their presence in Tal Rifa’at after the Ottoman Turkish military threatened to launch a new operation in northern Syria.

The source said Russia is committed to not giving up this part of northern Aleppo or any part of Syria that is controlled by the Syrian Arab Army and their allies.

This also bodes well for the YPG forces in the area because it will prevent the Ottoman Turkish military from launching a wide-scale assault in this part of the Aleppo Governorate.

While the Syrian Arab Army and YPG are not engaged in any hostilities against one another, the former is hoping to eventually take over this part of the Aleppo Governorate after a political settlement is reached between the government and Syrian Democratic Council (SDC).

Minneapolis police union selling 'Cops for Trump' T-shirts in response to uniform ban
[KSTP] The Minneapolis police union announced they are selling T-shirts that read "Cops for Trump," just days after the Minneapolis Police Department banned officers from wearing their uniforms in support of candidates at political events or in ads.

Lt. Bob Kroll, head of the officers' union, posted the T-shirt image on his personal Facebook page on Saturday just before noon. The post goes on to say the shirts will be for sale starting Monday at the union's headquarters for $20 each and will soon be available online.

The Minneapolis Police Department implemented the new policy on Oct. 1, barring its officers from being in uniform at political events or advertisements.

Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said in a statement the policy is aimed at strengthening public trust.

The head of the coppers' union says the timing of the policy makes him suspect of political partisanship because it came a day after Trump announced a rally at the Target Center on Oct. 10.

PROOF: Audio, email evidence shows DNC colluded with Ukraine to take down Trump in 2016
[The Blaze] "What was crazy, was the Isikoff article that came out was stuff from the dossier from Fusion GPS," Glenn pointed out. "This is why Tony Podesta shut down the Podesta Group, like on the day that Paul Manafort was arrested. Okay? As soon as they arrested him, the biggest lobbying firm, the Clinton lobbying firm, millions of dollars, [Podesta] walks into the office in one day, and says, 'close the doors.' Not like, 'Hey, at the end of the week, or at the end of the month, we're going to wrap things up,' [he said ] 'Close the doors.' And he shut his firm down. Well, why? Because he's working with the same group of people, that Manafort [was.]"

"So, you're expecting me to believe that Manafort got money under the table, but the Podesta Group didn't?" Glenn asked. "No way. No way."

"They [the Podesta Group] only existed from 1988 to 2017. It's just a coincidence they happened to stop the thing right there," Stu joked. "It was a fly-by-night operation, one of the biggest lobbying firms in Washington for 30 years."

Glenn went on to play an audio recording of Artem Sytnyk, Director of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine who was tried and convicted in Ukraine for interfering in the U.S. presidential election in 2016, speaking with friends, "Kolya" and "Ivan."

Glenn shared a translation of the Ukrainian tape:

Kolya: Did they, those Russians, help Trump? Your people?

Sytnyk: I think they did. Yeah. I helped him, too. Not him, but Hillary. I helped her.

Kolya: Yeah. Right. Then her position tottered, right?

Sytnyk: Well, this is how they write about it, right.

Ivan: Hillary's humanitarian aid ... [indiscernible.]

Kolya: Well, I'm about ... the commentaries. At the time, we were not [indiscernible.]

Sytnyk: Trump ... his purely inner problem ... issue ... they dominate over the external matters. While Hillary, she is -- how shall I put it? She belongs to the cohort of politicians who comprise the hegemony in the US. Both in the US and the entire world, right? For us, it's ... sort of ... better. For Americans ... what Trump is doing is better for them.

Kolya: Well, we have lots of those American experts here now ... [indiscernible.]

Sytnyk: Well, there, you see why Hillary lost the elections? I was in charge of the investigation of their "black accounting" records. We made the Manafort's data available to general public.

Kolya: So what?

Sytnyk: He was imprisoned. Manafort then was the head of the Supreme Headquarter of Trump, right? Then he was dismissed, too, including due to the "black accounting." After that, he was sentenced to 80 years of imprisonment term. How about Trump? Did he not give a s***. They have their system working there and it works smoothly.

Kolya: Everybody worked smoothly there.

Sytnyk: And when they carried out the elections, a week before the elections, the FBI reopened the investigation in respect of Hillary. So her rating dropped for 7 percent and that's why Trump managed to win the elections at a pinch.
I'm still unable to understand why he's fighting with the FBI. They try to catch him on the hand. If it were not the FBI, he would not have won the elections. They torpedoed Hillary's ratings for 7 percent.

...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
to save Tehran’s collapsing nuclear deal with world powers.

Ali Akbar Salehi told Iranian state TV that an array of 30 IR-6 centrifuges will be inaugurated in the coming weeks.

Under the terms of its 2015 deal ‐ which the US unilaterally withdrew from over a year ago ‐ Iran had committed to not using the array until late 2023.

Iran has steadily increased its breaches of the nuclear accord as it pushes its European partners to find a way around US sanctions that have kept it from selling oil abroad and crippled the Iranian economy.

Salehi also said Iran is now producing up to six kilograms of enriched uranium daily.

"It means we have restored pre-deal" capacity, he said.

In September, Iran inaugurated an array of 20 IR-6 centrifuges that can produce enriched uranium 10 times as fast as the IR-1 that Iran was already using.

Iran is currently enriching uranium to about 4.5%. Prior to the nuclear deal, it only reached up to 20%, which is a short technical step away from the weapons-grade levels of 90%.

Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
Militia in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) has said it was ready to implement government orders to prevent "a coup d'etat or a rebellion" after protests that have left more than 100 dead.

Speaking to news hounds, Faleh al-Fayyadh, who heads the force, said he wanted "the fall of corruption, not the fall of the regime."

"We know who stands behind these protests. The plan to bring down the regime has failed," Fayyadh said.

Protests swept through Baghdad and major Iraqi cities last Tuesday with calls to reduce youth unemployment and corruption but have spiraled to demand a total overhaul of the Iraqi political system.

The Iraqi government says more than one hundred protesters were killed and hundreds maimed as security forces reacted to the unrest, while other reports said government snipers on rooftops directly targeted protesters.

On Monday, Iraq’s military admitted for the first time it had used "excessive force" against the protesters.

India-Pakistan
JKLF asks AJK government to remove hurdles, let marchers cross LoC
[DAWN] The Jammu Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Liberation Front (JKLF) on Monday asked the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government to remove the containers at the Muzaffarabad-Srinagar Highway which had obstructed the movement of their march towards the Line of Control (LoC) since Sunday, warning that the marchers would otherwise continue to stage a sit-in before the hurdles for "an indefinite period".

"The AJK government should remove the hurdles and allow the marchers to cross the ceasefire line (LoC) or else the sit-in will continue at this place for an indefinite period," said Mohammad Rafiq Dar, central spokesperson for JKLF, at a presser in Jiskool, located 8 kilometres before the LoC, where the administration had placed containers, barbed wires, electricity poles and mounds of earth to block the march.

"Otherwise, the government should bring here any special representative of the United Nations
...the Oyster Bay money pit...
Secretary General as well as representatives of the five permanent UN Security Council members so that we are able to give them our charter of demands," added Dar, who was flanked by JKLF’s ailing acting chairman Abdul Hameed Butt and other leaders.
"And a pony. We want a pony, too!"
"How can we lead a normal life here when our brothers and sisters across the ceasefire line are going through nightmarish conditions at the hands of the Indian army," he questioned.

The JKLF front man said the best option in the prevailing situation was the deployment of UN peacekeeping forces in Jammu and Kashmir until a plebiscite was held to ascertain the opinion of Kashmiris about their future.

He said other demands would be shared soon in the shape of a memorandum.

The JKLF led marchers had reached Jiskool on Sunday afternoon to be greeted by the road blockades. While a majority of them returned to Chinari and other rear areas to spend the night, the leaders and many others took shelter under a big canopy that was erected on the main road late at night.

Iraq
Iraq says all evidence points to 'malicious hands' in protests
No doubt. Just not the malicious hands they’re pretending they believe them to be.
[PRESSTV] Iraqi officials say there are "malicious hands" behind the killing of both protesters and security forces during the recent spate of unrest in Baghdad and some other cities.

Interior Ministry front man Saad Maan confirmed for the first time on Sunday that 104 people had been killed, including eight security officers, and more than 6,000 maimed in the protests.

Maan said the ministry was working with other government institutions to find out who was behind the killings. According to medical sources, the majority of protesters killed were struck by bullets.

The protests began last Tuesday, with demonstrators calling for better living conditions. The rallies soon turned into riots as some protesters started vandalizing public properties and attempted to enter the Green Zone in the capital Baghdad -- which houses government offices and foreign diplomatic missions.

On Saturday night, armed elements and violent rioters attempted to take over local TV stations in Baghdad after the government removed a days-long curfew.

Maan said protesters burned 51 public buildings and eight political party headquarters but Iraqi security forces did not confront them.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Kansas City bar shooting: One suspect arrested as manhunt continues
[BBC] Kansas police have arrested one of two men suspected over a bar shooting that left four dead, while a manhunt continues for the second shooter.

Javier Alatorre was arrested in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday, police said.

The second suspect, Hugo Villanueva-Morales, remained at large and was "considered armed and dangerous", police said.

Both men were charged with murder for allegedly shooting nine people after a dispute at a bar on Sunday.

Kansas City Missouri police took Mr Alatorre into custody on Sunday afternoon, with the assistance of agents from the FBI and federal bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

Bond was set for both men at $1m (£811,000) each.

As the hunt for Mr Villanueva-Morales continued, police warned citizens to not approach him and instead call authorities with any information about his whereabouts.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
What would an all-out war between Turkey and the SDF entail?
Key bits from a longer piece:
[Rudaw] According to Dr Micha’el Tanchum, a senior fellow at the Austrian Institute for Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an and Security Studies (AIES), a large-scale Ottoman Turkish invasion "risks Ankara becoming mired in a quagmire that may also spread north of the border".

"By maintaining military positions across Syria and in Iraq, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
is stretching its need for force protection against guerrilla operations," Tanchum told Rudaw English.

Turkey has expanded its operations against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq since early 2018. It established several new forward operating bases in areas where the PKK is active. From August 2018, it has also had some success in killing senior PKK members through targeted air and dronezaps, a first in the decades-long conflict.

In May it launched Operation Claw against the group, which after three different phases is still ongoing as of writing.

Tanchum believes that a major war in northeast Syria could see a convergence of sorts, with the SDF fighting Turkey in northeast Syria while the PKK also fights Ottoman Turkish forces in southeast Turkey and possibly even in the Kurdistan Region simultaneously.

"Turkey has no shortage of adversaries who would fund and supply guerrillas for such a campaign," he said, adding that "much will depend" on what kind of arrangements Turkey has made with Russia, the Syrian regime and Iran.

"The greatest threat would be concurrent guerrilla campaigns against Turkey in northern Syria and within southern Turkey itself," he said.

Tanchum offers the precedent of youth militias in Turkey’s Kurdish regions back in 2015.

"Turkey could face another popular uprising spearheaded by similar militias in the southeast," he said.

Tanchum noted that the YPG ‐ the main component of the multiethnic SDF ‐ has had "close to a year to prepare for the eventuality of a Ottoman Turkish invasion".

"There have been reports of extensive tunnel building in northeast Syria," he said.

"Turkey’s administration of a large swath of northern Syria may prove more costly than Ankara anticipates, depending on the response of Kurds on both sides of the border."

#1  The more I read and listen, it appears that nearly all of the MSM is against Trump's annoucement of a pull-back of 50-100 advisors. The fact there is universal MSM condemnation of his decision makes a person suspicious. It seems like quite a few people would like to keep the U.S. mired in some M.E. conflict. Turkey has had a 35 year history of sparring with the far left Kurdistan Worker's Party, a part of the S.D.F.

Khamenei’s representative grimaces fearsomely: Saudi Arabia, Israel fear destruction by Iran
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Israel and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. against its enemies.

"[Iran’s] deterrence [power] has today reached a point where Israel and Saudi Arabia are worried that something may happen, leaving no trace of them," the semi-official Entekhab news website quoted holy man Abdollah Haji Sadeghi, Khamenei’s representative in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as saying.

Iran has accomplished far more in the past six months since taking the approach of "resistance" than it has done negotiating in the past six years, he said.

Iran is accused of pursuing aggressive policies in the region, including attacking Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities, threatening shipping in the Arabian Gulf, and continuing to support proxy organizations in Leb, Iraq, and Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
Tensions in the region have been heighted after the September 14 attacks on Saudi Aramco oil facilities, which Iran is widely accused of carrying out.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
has said that the response to Iran must be well-calculated, adding that "The political and peaceful solution is much better than the military one."

The US said it will be deploying a Patriot battery, four Sentinel RADARs, and nearly 200 support personnel to Saudi Arabia in response to the recent attacks.

Sadeghi had previously claimed that Iranian-backed Hezbollah can inflict irreparable damage on Israel. Hezbollah and Israel clashed over the Lebanese border in late August. The terrorist organization recently reaffirmed its loyalty to Iran, with its leader His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
saying that Khamenei was key to its foundation.

Iran continues to threaten to destroy Israel. IRGC commander Hossein Salami said last week that Iran is capable of attacking its enemies anywhere, and added that Israel’s destruction is now an "achievable goal.”

Multiple Injuries As Stolen Truck ‘Rams Into Traffic' In German State Of Hesse
[RT] A stolen truck has rammed into traffic in the city of Limburg, Germany, causing a number of injuries. The driver has been arrested, though police are still determining whether the incident was an accident or a deliberate attack.

The truck plowed into the cars as they were stopped at a traffic light on Monday evening, injuring at least seventeen people, one of them seriously, according to local media. The driver was also reportedly injured in the collision.

At least 17 people were injured, local media outlets reported siting police.
Here's some additional information from a German TV newscast I saw:

The truck was stolen very close to the site of the incident. The perp opened the parked truck's door and dragged the surprised driver out without saying a word.

According to a witness who rendered first aid to the injured perp he's a young man of 'southern' appearance who said his name was Mohamed.

Thank you, Elmerert Hupens2660. Yahoo has the story from the AFP feed. Key new/confirming bits:
The daily Frankfurter Neue Presse (FNP) quoted the rightful driver of the truck, who was not named, as saying: "A man dragged me out of my lorry."

He said the man, in his 30s with short dark hair and a full beard, had yanked open the driver-side door and stared at him wide-eyed before forcing him out of the vehicle.

"I asked him 'What do you want from me?'," he told FNP. "He didn't say a word."

The newspaper quoted witnesses saying the truck sped into the parked cars before coming to a stop several metres from the traffic light.

When the man behind the wheel of the truck emerged from the crash, several passers-by provided first aid, FNP reported.

"The passers-by said the driver said 'Allah' several times" and spoke Arabic, FNP reported. Police did not confirm this account.

Bettina Yeisley from Limburg, whose office is directly next to the scene of the crash, told FNP that she heard a loud bang and ran out onto the street with colleagues.

They found the man sitting beneath a tree without knowing he had been driving.

"He was bleeding from the nose, his hands were bloody, his trousers torn. He said that everything hurt. I asked him his name and he said, 'My name is Mohammed'."
So now the question is whether he is a registered asylum seeker, a long term legal resident/citizen, or whether he is not supposed to be there, either because of unregistered entry or refusal to leave after being rejected.

Ukraine’s President: ‘I Was Never Pressured’ by Trump, ‘No Conditions’ Were Imposed

In what was billed as his first major interview by non-Ukrainian media since the row erupted, Zelensky was quoted as telling Japan’s Kyodo News agency that neither his invitation to the White House nor the sale of anti-tank missiles to Ukraine were made conditional on his willingness to cooperate in the Biden matter.

"I was never pressured and there were no conditions being imposed" to secure an Oval Office meeting with Trump or the weaponry, he said.

Zelensky said he had had no discussions with Kurt Volker, the former U.S. special envoy for Ukraine, about investigations into Biden, as a condition for being invited to visit Washington. Neither would he have accepted such a condition, he said.

Internet services partially back to normal in Iraq despite renewed protests
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) ‐ Internet services were partially back to normal in Iraq after several days of blackout due to ongoing anti-government protests, which entered their seventh day.

It’s unclear which of Iraqi districts restored the internet service, Sky TV channel reported.

Earlier on Wednesday, internet access was cut off across much of Iraq including the capital Baghdad with connectivity falling below 70%, internet blockage observatory NetBlocks said, amid renewed anti-government protests that turned violent and spread nationwide.

Social media platforms Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as messaging application WhatsApp all appeared to be have been disabled across Iraq except in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region which has a separate internet infrastructure.

The services were only accessible by using a VPN, which effectively disguises the location of a device.

Tens of thousands flock to Western Wall ahead of Yom Kippur
[IsraelTimes] Final penitential prayer service held ahead of holiest day of Jewish calendar.

Tens of thousands of worshipers flocked to the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Monday night and Tuesday morning for penitential prayers ahead of Yom Kippur, which begins Tuesday evening.

The prayers are traditionally said in the days leading up to the High Holidays. The service was the last before the Day of Atonement.

Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, begins at sundown Tuesday.

For religious Jews, the day is marked by fasting, abstinence and prayer over its 25 hours.

Driving during Yom Kippur is considered taboo, and many secular Israelis have turned the day into a biking holiday, taking advantage of the car-free roads.

Israel shuts down on every year on Yom Kippur, with public transportation, government services and television broadcasters ceasing operations for the duration of the holiday.

Abu Sayyaf militant nabbed in Quezon City
[Inquirer] An alleged Abu Sayyaf sub-leader was arrested in Quezon City in a joint police and military operation last week.

Police spokesman Ronnie Montejo reported that Ibrahim Lambog Mullo, 26, was arrested in Batasan Hills, Quezon City on the evening of September 27. Montejo said Mullo was among the three militants of the terror group under police surveillance in Metro Manila. The two others were arrested in July, he said.

Mullo, who was presented by National Capital Region Police chief Guillermo Eleazar to the media, denied that he was a sub-leader of the terror group and claimed that he was in Metro Manila to live a normal life away from the Abu Sayyaf. He claimed that he had just moved to Quezon City to attend to his wife who recently gave birth.

He claims to be now working in a housing project for the Army Scout Rangers in Kamias and Calumpang, Bulacan which is a project of a construction owned by his wife’s uncle.

Police said Mullo was recruited by the Ajang-Ajang sub-group initially through social media by Abu Sayyaf sub-leader alias Pading [sic] in 2017 while he was in Zamboanga City and has joined Abu Sayyaf operations in Patikul, Sulu.

Nine dead as refugee boat sinks off Italian coast
[PRESSTV] At least nine people died when a boat carrying dozens of migrants colonists sank off the coast of the island of Lampedusa, south of Sicily, Italia's coastguard said on Monday.

The coastguard said rescue vessels had picked up 22 people, and search operations for other survivors were underway after an alert was received late on Sunday night that a boat carrying some 50 people was in difficulty.

The UN migration agency said the boat had set sail from Tunisia and had been carrying Tunisian and west African migrants colonists.

Vessels from the coastguard and customs police had reached the vessel, which overturned in rough seas about six nautical miles from the coast of Lampedusa, the coastguard said in a statement. Nine bodies had been recovered, it added.

"This highlights once again that urgent action is needed to address the situation in the Mediterranean," said Charlie Yaxley, a spokesperson for the United Nations

According to the Syrian military, the joint Russian-Syrian attack resulted in the death of more than 30 holy warriors from the Hurras al-Deen group, with almost all of the reported casualties being foreign combatants.

Among the dead jihadists were several hard boyz from the Russian Caucasus region, including the countries of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Chechnya.

Ansarallah forces kill several Sudanese soldiers in devastating attack in western Yemen
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ansarallah forces carried out a devastating attack against a group of Sudanese soldiers that were deployed to the western countryside of Yemen’s Ta’iz Governorate.

A statement from the official media wing of the Ansarallah Movement on Monday said that their forces carried out a direct missile attack on a Sudanese military gathering in the Al-Waziya District of the Ta’iz Governorate.

The spokesperson for the Ansarallah Movement added that this missile attack resulted in the death of several Sudanese soldiers.

On May 8th, 2018, the pro-government forces took control of the Waziya Junction after a fierce battle with the Ansarallah forces.

They would later score more advances in the Al-Waziya District after their allies arrived to help drive the Ansarallah troops out of this imperative area in western Yemen.

More than 16,000 flee unrest in Indonesia’s Papua
[PRESSTV] More than 16,000 scared residents have fled an unrest-hit city in Indonesia's Papua region, the military says, as one of the deadliest eruptions of violence in years sparked calls for an independent probe.

Several dozen people were killed when violence broke out in Wamena city last month, with some victims burned alive when buildings were ablaze, and others stabbed in the chaos, according to authorities.

Since mid-August, Papua has been hit by waves of mass protests and violence fueled by racism against indigenous Papuans by Indonesians from other parts of the archipelago, as well as calls for self-rule in the impoverished region.

The majority of Papuans are Christian and ethnic Melanesian with few cultural ties to the rest of Moslem-majority Indonesia.

On Monday, the air force said about 11,400 people -- mostly migrants colonists -- had been evacuated aboard military aircraft.

Several thousand more have left aboard commercial aircraft since late September, it added.

Israeli troops attack Palestinians near Joseph's Tomb in West Bank
[PRESSTV] Israeli troops have attacked Paleostinians who were trying to prevent hundreds of Death Eater settlers from storming Joseph's Tomb on the outskirts of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

According to a report by the Paleostine Information Center, Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets at the Paleostinian residents who attempted to tackle the break-in on Sunday night.

A Paleostinian journalist was hit and injured in the abdomen by a bullet of that kind. The exact number of casualties remains sketchy.

The report added that nearly 1,000 Death Eater Jewish settlers, under tight protection by Israeli soldiers, broke into the tomb and performed Talmudic rituals at the site, which is venerated by Jews, Christians and Moslems.

Citing eyewitnesses, it added that several Israeli military vehicles surrounded the site and the neighboring areas to make way for the settlers’ raid.

Joseph's Tomb is situated in the West Bank's Area A, which is controlled by the Paleostinian Authority (PA). However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
the Israeli military allows settlers to visit the site without approval, and even escorts them into the place.

The Israeli regime prevents Moslems from worshiping there.

Israelis claim the site contains the tomb of a rabbi, but the site is part of an old mosque where Moslem scholar Yusef Dweekat is buried.

Paleostinian residents in the area say the Israeli regime is planning to reoccupy the historical site after its military left the place in 2000.

#3  A close reading reveals that this describes a normal trip to the tomb, guarded as always from Palestinian attackers by the Israeli army. Once again the story did not appear in the three Israeli news sites I check regularly, nor any of the other sites I collect articles from.
