Bob Dole, Former Republican Presidential Candidate, Dies at 98
[EpochTimes] Bob Dole, a former Republican U.S. Senator from Kansas and GOP presidential candidate, has died at age 98, his family confirmed in a statement on Sunday.

“Senator Robert Joseph Dole died early this morning in his sleep. At his death, at age 98, he had served the United States of America faithfully for 79 years,” said his family in a statement via the Elizabeth Dole Foundation.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Dole was being treated for advanced lung cancer.

For 30 years, Dole was a senator for Kansas, and in 1976, he was President Gerald Ford’s vice presidential nominee. The pair was defeated by then-Democrat candidate Jimmy Carter and his running mate, Walter Mondale.

Dole, who was injured while fighting in World War II, was the Senate majority leader from 1985 to 1987 and later, from 1995 to 1996. In 1996, Dole clinched the Republican nomination for the presidency but was ultimately defeated by incumbent President Bill Clinton, a Democrat.

Writing in his memoir, “One Soldier’s Story,” Dole said that his experiences in World War II defined his life.

Drew Hammill, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), confirmed that the speaker had ordered the flags at the Capitol to be flown at half-staff following Dole’s passing.

Dole is survived by his wife, former Sen. Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.), and his daughter, Robin Dole.

#1  Dole searched for his radio operator to call for reinforcements. The man was slumped over in his own blood, radio in hand. Dole crawled over to him to pull him to a shell hole.

And that’s when it happened.

“I felt a sting, as something hot, something terribly powerful crashed into my upper back behind my right shoulder,” Dole wrote.

It could have been a mortar round, an exploding shell or machine gun fire. Whatever it was, it tore through his shoulder and spine, instantly paralyzing him from the neck down. His body twisted in the air, and he landed face down in the dirt.

Soon, one of his men pulled him behind a wall before being ordered to keep going. A sergeant dragged him another 60 yards to relative safety. Dole was drifting in and out of consciousness and remembered only excruciating pain and bleeding profusely.

He was given a dose of morphine, and the sergeant wrote an “M” on his forehead with Dole’s own blood to signify as much when the medics showed up.

They waited for more than six hours. Two medics who had been sent to retrieve him were themselves killed. Dole lay flat on the ground in the rain, thinking about Kansas.

Eventually, Dole was carried down the mountain on a stretcher and transported to a military hospital.

#5  Most politicians of that era were better by far than the lying conniving, self-aggrandizing weasels who make up out current moronic elite.

Even that era's lefties like McGovern served honorably. Carter, Mondale, Ford, Dole: for all their flaws, none of them used his office to line his pockets like Bathhouse Barry or Gore or the Clintons have, or the Bidens have done and continue to do.

'DeSantis Proposes Resurrecting World War II-Era Force That Doesn't Answer to Washington, DC
[Western Journal] Rather than relying upon the shaky reed of federal support from the Biden administration, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is proposing the restoration of a WWII-era force to protect the state.

DeSantis is calling for the return of the Florida State Guard, a civilian volunteer force that will assist the National Guard, according to a release posted on the governor’s website.

DeSantis is seeking $3.5 million in his upcoming budget to establish the force.

According to the release, the Florida State Guard would enhance "emergency response efforts in the event of a hurricane, natural disasters and other state emergencies."

The funding would support training for those who join, the release said.

BLUF provided by Jonathon Turley:
[Citizen Free Press]...There is a risk to improvisational element in charging such a case. The question is whether there is actual knowledge or complicity by the parents as opposed to negligence. Otherwise, charges in this case could present strong grounds for challenge.

#1  actual knowledge or complicity

Perhaps local school officials should be thoroughly questioned by the local DA as well. A starting point might be the failure to contact the local Police Department.

No, there is no escaping the fact that the parents are morons. Buying firearms for a troubled youth? Taking him to the range? Shades of Sandy Hook shooter's mother's attempt to "help" her son. Clearly the actions of morons.

'Never Seen Anything Like It': Los Angeles Residents Stunned As Violent Crimes Creep Into Wealthier Communities
[LA Times via Zero] After two years of rising crime in Los Angeles, residents of upscale neighborhoods are finally starting to freak out after a spate of 'flash mob' lootings at high-end retail stores have been accompanied with a disturbing increase in violent crimes committed in the suburbs, according to the LA Times.

Crews of burglars publicly smashing their way into Los Angeles’ most exclusive stores. Robbers following their victims, including a star of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and a BET host, to their residences. And this week, the fatal shooting of 81-year-old Jacqueline Avant, an admired philanthropist and wife of music legend Clarence Avant, in her Beverly Hills home.

...these incidents have sparked a national conversation and led to local concern about both the crimes themselves and where the outrage over the violence will lead.

"The fact that this has happened, her being shot and killed in her own home, after giving, sharing, and caring for 81 years has shaken the laws of the Universe," said Oprah Winfrey, expressing grief over Avant's killing via Twitter. "The world is upside down."

The Times notes that while overall crime rates within Los Angeles remain far below the notoriously violent 1990s, much of it has been concentrated in poor communities - so it receives virtually no attention. Now that crime has "crept up in wealthier enclaves and thrust its way to the center of public discourse" across the city.

Afghanistan
Despite expectations, China not rushing to cash in on post-U.S. economic collapse in Afghanistan
[Just The News] With Afghanistan's economy reeling in the aftermath of the abrupt U.S. withdrawal from the country in August, the ruling Taliban hopes — and Western democracies fear — that China will come to the regime's economic rescue. Such hopes and fears may prove slow to materialize, however, thanks to Beijing's ingrained economic pragmatism coupled with its apprehensions about Afghanistan-based jihadist support for the Uyghurs, China's oppressed Muslim minority.

The Afghan economy is collapsing. For decades, the country has been largely dependent on foreign aid, most of which has been halted since the Taliban seized control in August.

The Taliban's U.S. bank accounts have been frozen. Inflation is soaring, as is unemployment. Many workers who have jobs have not received their salary for months. The U.N. Development Programme (UNDP) expects 97% of the population to fall below the poverty line next year.

Historically, the country has been plagued by drought, corruption, and under-utilization of human capital. Other issues, such as brain drain and capital flight have intensified since the fall of Kabul in August. Widespread sanctions have further complicated the country's economic stability.

Government Corruption
Biden Administration State Department Official To Keynote Pro-China Gala
[Free Beacon] A top State Department official is set to deliver the keynote address at a gala hosted by a pro-China group that wants to give the country a free pass on human-rights abuses.

Jose Fernandez, the undersecretary for economic growth, energy, and the environment, will speak at the U.S.-China Business Council gala on Thursday about the Biden administration’s bilateral approach to China. Chinese ambassador Qin Gang will also speak at the event, which is sponsored by the council’s corporate donors.

The council is one of Beijing’s most effective allies in Washington. The group, which represents hundreds of American companies that do business in China, has lobbied Congress and the White House to soften language on bills that would sanction China over human-rights abuses against Uyghurs, according to Politico. The Washington Post reported that council officials took part in a conference call this week with Chinese officials who urged American companies to continue their support for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Calls to boycott the games have grown following the disappearance of a Chinese tennis professional who alleged she was raped by a Chinese Communist Party official.

Fernandez’s address to the pro-China trade group comes as the Biden administration and congressional Democrats signal a willingness to ignore China’s human-rights record in order to win cooperation on climate change. The White House has pressured lawmakers to kill a bill that would restrict imports on goods made in Xinjiang, where the Chinese government is carrying out genocide against Uyghurs. Senate Democrats quietly excluded the bill from consideration on Wednesday, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Italy Arrests Suspected Terrorist Living in Migrant Reception Facility
[Breitbart] A suspected radical Islamic terrorist was arrested this week at a migrant reception facility in Venice. He is believed to belong to an Islamic State cell.

The Tunisian national, 25, was taken into custody after police began suspecting that he may match the profile of a man believed to be an Islamic State member who had been the subject of an Interpol report in October.

The 25-year-old’s fingerprints later confirmed his identity as the suspected Islamic State member. Tunisian authorities had also issued an international arrest warrant for the man for “participation in a terrorist association with acts of terrorism”, newspaper Il Giornale reports.

The alleged terrorist is said to have come to Italy in August on one of the many migrant boats that have landed in Sicily in recent months.

Ferretti also stated that the Tunisian had not wanted to remain in Italy.

The incident took place on October 27th and is said to have seen 18-year-old Malek B., who arrived in France in 2014 and is described as being in an irregular situation, allegedly call the police from his friend’s mobile phone to inform them that someone was in the middle of stealing the wheels from a car.

After police arrived on the scene to find there was no car with its wheels removed, they were then set upon and violently attacked by four individuals.

Following the ambush, police traced the phone back to a young woman who had created the phone account for the teen.

Police were able to identify and arrest Malek B. on November 24th. Investigations also found he had a criminal record that included acts of violence against police and drug offences, and that he had previously been sentenced to five years in prison by a juvenile court.

Anti-police violence has become more and more common in France in recent years, with Ministry of the Interior statistics noting that the number of attacks on officers has more than doubled in the last two decades to an average of 85 attacks per day on public authority officials. According to the statistics the Nord department, where the city of Lille is located, is one of the areas with the highest number of attacks on police.

Luring police to areas for ambush attacks is also not uncommon. In 2018, local youths in the city of Mulhouse used guerrilla-style tactics that included laying traps for officers such as setting garbage cans on fire.

In Marseilles, attacks on police have been even worse, with officers reportedly targeted by Kalashnikov rifle fire in October of this year.

Rudy Manna, departmental secretary of the Alliance police union in the Bouches-du-Rhône, said the situation in the southern French city was like a military conflict. “It is war in the northern districts of Marseilles. It is almost a lawless area,” he said.

400 Migrants Expelled from Makeshift Camp Near Dunkirk
[Breitbart] Police have expelled a group of 400 migrants from a makeshift camp near the northern French city of Dunkirk, just two weeks after police cleared another site in the area.

Police dismantled the camp in the area of the Bourbourg Canal in Grande-Synthe near Dunkirk on Tuesday at around 8 a.m., with 400 migrants moved from the site while tents and other shelters were taken down.

According to a report from the news service Reuters, the police normally transport the migrants to various centres across France, but many simply end up back in northern France where they hope to reach the United Kingdom by crossing the English Channel.

The dismantling of the camp comes just two weeks after another in Grande-Synthe was cleared of around 1,500 migrants on the order of Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin.

Georges-François Leclerc, the prefect of the northern region, commented on the dismantling of the camp, saying: “This morning, the border police proceeded to arrest 13 traffickers. During the evacuation of the camp, about 30 other traffickers, criminals, or suspected smugglers were arrested.”

Interior Minister Darmanin had added: “This morning, the dismantling of a network of smugglers in Dunkirk resulted in the arrest of 13 migrant smugglers, bringing the total to 1,308 since January. These smugglers are criminals who exploit human misery and are responsible for irregular immigration.”

Illegals Occupy Belgian Church for Several Months Demanding Residency
[Breitbart] Some 50 illegal immigrants who have occupied a church in Brussels, Belgium, demanding residency have complained that now with winter approaching, the church is too cold for them.

Initially, in February, around 200 migrants had occupied the 17th-century St John the Baptist Church in Béguinage in the heart of the Belgian capital, demanding residency. Reports from July revealed the number of squatters had swelled to 450, who had recently given up on a hunger strike that had lasted for 60 days.

The church is still occupied, but the number of migrants has greatly reduced to just around 50, with many abandoning their attempts to force the government to give them residency in Belgium.

Migrants protesting for residency papers have become common in some parts of Europe, such as in France, where the NGO Utopia 56 has organised several occupations of areas in Paris in the last year.

Hunger strikes among migrants are also not an uncommon occurrence. In February, a group of migrants staying in a Reading hotel in the UK engaged in a hunger strike after complaining about the quality of the free food they were being given.

UK Govt: ‘Not In Public Interest’ to Disclose How Many Afghan Evacuees Are Ex-Deportees or on Watch Lists; ‘MidEastern’ Men Try To Buy Local Girls
Moslem colonists making the news in England over the past few days.
[Breitbart] The British government has told Breitbart London it knows how many Afghans airlifted to the UK were on watch lists or had previously been deported from the country — but insists it is not in the public interest to reveal it.

Germany and Sweden — countries with a less than stellar reputation for being forthright about public safety issues linked to immigration — have both admitted that some of the Afghans they evacuated from Kabul during its fall to the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
turned out to be people they had previously deported, with German interior minister Horst Seehofer revealing that his country had taken in Afghan evacuees who were "high-calibre criminals", some "relevant to security" and regarded as a "serious threat".

Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
’s government has been less forthcoming about such issues, although reports have got out that at least one Afghan evacuee had been on Britannia’s "no-fly" list and was seemingly airlifted in error. Another Afghan — a former special forces commando — was revealed to have been arrested in a dawn raid on the hotel he was hosted at not long after his arrival.

A separate Freedom of Information request was made concerning the potential relocation of members of the Afghan National Police (ANP) to the United Kingdom, and whether any measures had been put in place to vet them in light of the systemic child sexual abuse which has been reported among its ranks.

The Home Office’s response was vague, simply claiming that any such evacuees would be subject to "the same strict security checks as those resettled through other schemes" and alluding to "civil powers... and other measures to manage those who pose a threat to our national security" in general.

Asked whether it had "produced any reports, reviews, etc. related to potential child safeguarding issues with respect to the relocation of Afghans to the UK since the beginning of 2021" the Home Office admitted that it had not.

Police: Man of ‘Possible Middle Eastern Origin’ Tried to ‘Buy’ Woman’s Daughter Outside School

[Breitbart] A mother in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, was left alarmed and horrified when a man of “possible Middle Eastern origin” approached her as she walked her young daughter to school and attempted to “buy” her.

The incident in the multicultural city took place on the morning of December 1st, with the male — one of a group of three, it is believed — described as looking like he was in his late thirties or early forties and wearing a grey hooded top and dirty navy bottoms, with his face partly obscured by a head warmer.

The shocking incident follows similar events in Doncaster, another urban centre in South Yorkshire, earlier in November, when another woman was followed through a Primark store in the city centre and offered a “good price” for her daughter.

South Yorkshire Police — who initially denied they had received reports of the incident — later announced an investigation, saying that “It was reported that on the 12th of November at around 4 p.m., a woman and young girl were in Primark where they believed they were being followed by a group of men” and that “The men made them feel uncomfortable and allegedly made inappropriate comments towards the young girl.”

While the police offered no descriptions of the suspects beyond referencing their sex, the mother of the girl said in a social media post quoted by local media that they were “Four foreign men”.

Yorkshire has been exposed a hotbed of so-called grooming gang activity in recent years, with a large number of mostly-South Asian background men raping and pimping mostly white working-class girls and young women in locations including Huddersfield, Rochdale, and Rotherham, with police and social services repeatedly failing to intervene even when they were aware of the abuse.

Kurdish, Iraqi forces meet in Baghdad following increased ISIS attacks
[Rudaw] A high-level security meeting was held on Saturday in Baghdad between Kurdish Peshmerga forces and Iraqi forces to ramp up cooperation following a deadly attack by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) group on civilians and Peshmerga, Iraq’s security media cell published.

"It was agreed to strengthen intelligence work and increase cooperation between the central [Iraqi] and Region’s forces and to combat terrorist operations and prevent their occurrence," the statement, issued by Joint Operations Command and published on Telegram read.

"It was agreed to continue bilateral meetings between the joint security and military leaders to develop a clear vision for confronting terrorism," added the statement.

Three civilians and 18 Peshmerga fighters have been killed in the attacks conducted in recent days by ISIS forces of Evil in areas disputed by Erbil and Baghdad. The group has increased its attacks on Kurdish forces in these areas.

The latest was late on Thursday night when ten Peshmerga fighters and three non-combatants were killed with others injured in Erbil’s Makhmour town.

"ISIS [Arabic acronym for ISIS] is not looking to control cities and places, they are aiming to kill, injure and weaken the forces," the Kurdistan Region’s Vice President Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, who is also the former commander of the Unit 70 forces, told Rudaw on Saturday.

Sirwan Barzani, commander of Peshmerga forces in Makhmour, told Rudaw late Friday that the US-led global coalition against ISIS have decreased Arclight airstrike

s against the group "because the ISIS [ISIS] movements have changed. Now, their tactic is to carry out partisan war, and by the time the [war]planes arrive they hide or go into the caves and tunnels."

The coalition shared photographs of a recently-conducted operation against ISIS with Kurdish forces on Saturday without providing details. "We will continue to work side by side with our partners forces to #DefeatISIS," it said.

"There are 100 - 150 people [ISIS] in the area, they have created chaos, they are not a force that defends, they attack and return. Their formation and resting place is Gharra area. Civilians help them too, for sure," Ibrahim Ahmed, Peshmerga commader in the Qaratapa-Hamrin front said on Saturday.

Man stabbed near Jerusalem’s Old City; assailant shot dead while lying on ground
[IsraelTimes] Victim suffers moderate-to-serious wounds; Arab minister criticizes police as video shows them firing repeatedly at incapacitated suspect; PM and other ministers hail forces

A young Israeli man was stabbed in Jerusalem Saturday afternoon, in what authorities said was a suspected terror attack.
Not actually suspected. This is the Istraeli version of the America alleged, so often used for those caught in flagrante delicto.
The Haredi man, aged around 20, was moderately-to-seriously injured in the attack near the Old City’s Damascus Gate.

Police said the suspected assailant then attempted to stab a policeman. He was shot and killed by security forces at the scene.

Paramedics rushed the stabbing victim to Shaare Zedek Medical Center. According to the Ynet news site, he had suffered a stab wound to his neck.

A video from the scene showed Border Policemen firing at the suspected assailant several times as he lay incapacitated on the ground.

Police later released a video showing the entire incident. It showed the officers did not immediately fire at the assailant, doing so only after he repeatedly lunged at them.
Propaganda tweet can be seen at the link, along with the longer police video showing the entire incident. It’ll probably turn out to be a case of suicide-by-IDF.
Ynet identified the attacker as Muhammad Shaukat Muhammad Salima, a 25-year-old from the West Bank town of Salfit who was in Israel illegally.

Paleostinian rioting later developed at the scene, with police using stun grenades and other measures against the protesters.
Of course.
Damascus Gate was the epicenter of protests and festivities between Paleostinians and Israeli police last spring, during the Moslem holy month of Ramadan. The unrest spread to other parts of the city, eventually helping to ignite an 11-day Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
war.

There have been dozens of attacks in recent years in and around the Old City, nearly all carried out by individual Paleostinians with no known links to gangs. The Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, terror group, which rules Gaza, praised Saturday’s attack but did not take responsibility for it.

UN Renews Anti-Piracy Ships Off Somalia for Only 3 Months
[Garowe] The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously Friday to allow international naval forces to continue using all necessary means to fight piracy off the coast of Somalia — but only for the next three months because the Somali government says there has been no piracy incident for over four years and it's time end the operation.

The council had been renewing the authorization for regional organizations and countries to fight against piracy and armed robbery off the coast of the Horn of Africa nation for 12 months. But this year the Somali government, whose consent is required, objected to another yearlong renewal sought by the United States, which drafted the resolution, and agreed only to three months after negotiations with the U.S. and other council members.

"We believe that the Security Council resolutions on piracy and armed robbery off the coast of Somalia have successfully achieved its intended objective," Somalia's U.N. Ambassador Abukar Dahir Osman told the council after the vote.

Europe
Afghans lodging most asylum applications in the EU
And some of them are real Afghans, just as before some of those applying as Syrians were actually Syrian. Whatever it takes, dude.
[KhaamaPress] European Asylum Support Office (EASO) has said that the asylum requests by Afghan people to Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
have increased dramatically and is now the biggest country that lodges the highest number of asylum requests in Europe.

Syrians were previously the largest asylum seekers for the past seven years consecutively who have now made 50% lesser requests compared with Afghans.

Latest statistics indicate that there were 10,000 asylum applications by Afghans in August that reached 17,000 in September showing a 72% rise.

An analysis released by EASO shows that 71,200 asylum applications were lodged in the EU in September this year that is the highest number of applications since November 2016.

The rise in applications by Afghans to the EU also reflects evacuation operations by the EU after the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
takeover in mid-August.

Afghans becoming the largest group lodging the most number of asylum applications to the EU is not a surprise as the ongoing humanitarian crisis and the greatest economic collapse have forced over hundreds of thousand Afghans to leave their home country one way or another.

Despite the undesired situation in Afghanistan, there are still people who are waiting for everything to settle and return to normal.

War: What Israel talks about when it talks about striking Iran’s nuclear program
Long. Herewith a few key sentences.
[IsraelTimes] Israeli officials have regularly called for a ‘credible military threat’ against Tehran’s nuclear facilities, but less discussed is the major conflict that’s almost sure to follow.

Billions of additional shekels have been poured into the defense budget specifically to prepare for strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

The Israel Defense Forces has been making strides to prepare itself for the multi-front war that is liable to follow a strike on Iran, holding a number of large-scale exercises simulating such a conflict in recent months and investing roughly NIS 1 billion ($315 million) toward training for next year. The military is also working to improve its air defenses, particularly in northern Israel, in an effort to prevent the worst of the damage from rocket barrages and drone strikes in a future conflict.

But the propensity of Israeli officials to discuss the technical aspects of an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities belies the true calculus at play in deciding whether to carry it out: it’s not about the strike, but the war that follows.

Record of Turkey's violations in northeast Syria revealed
[NPASYRIA] A local committee for documenting violations in the Tel Abyad area, northern Syria, working in the adjacent town of Ain Issa, revealed figures for the outcome of violations it documented in the area during the current year.

Since the beginning of 2021, they have documented 150 killing cases, including 15 children and 25 women, perpetrated by the Ottoman Turkish forces and the affiliated opposition factions, said Fattah Kurdo, co-chair of the Documentation Office in the Euphrates Region (administrative division affiliated with the AANES that includes the areas of Kobani, Raqqa and Tel Abyad).

The figures include those who bit the dust in the frequent bombing by Ottoman Turkish forces and the affiliated factions on the countryside of Tel Abyad and the town of Ain Issa, as well as the deaths in the infightings between the opposition factions in Tel Abyad.

150 people have been arbitrarily arrested by the opposition factions, including 40 women, some of whom were released for ransom, Kurdo told North Press.

He noted to the continued thefts and seizure of property of the natives, as well as the imposition of royalties.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

and the Syrian National Army have arrested and illegally transferred at least 63 Syrian nationals from northeast Syria to Turkey to face trial on serious charges that could lead to life in prison, Human Rights Watch said on February.

Since the Ottoman Turkish forces and the Ottoman Turkish-backed opposition factions took control of the cities of Tel Abyad and Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in 2019, human rights
One man's rights are another man's existential threat.
reports have documented continuous violations against the local population.

The Documentation Office of the Autonomous Administration documented the displacement of 2,000 families from Tel Abyad and its countryside. Those families were replaced with families from other Syrian regions such as Duma, Harasta and Daraa, and others from Iraq, Afghanistan and Chechnya.

Since the beginning of 2021, the town of Ain Issa and its countryside and the M4 Highway have been repeatedly bombed by Turkey its backed opposition factions, even though the area houses displaced people, most of whom fled the Ottoman Turkish military operation in 2019.

According to human rights reports, the Ottoman Turkish incursion in 2019, under the pretext of establishing a safe zone, displaced 300,000 people from their homes, about 175,000 of them were from the area between Sere Kaniye and Tel Abyad.

Lifting sanctions on Iran will be political suicide for Biden administration: US analyst
One can only hope...
[NPASYRIA] Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
calls for the elimination of all sanctions, but honestly I am not very optimistic as some sanctions are included in the law of Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), David Roches, professor at Near East South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Studies said yesterday.

This came with the resumption of nuclear talks with Iran in Vienna last week, with Iran returning to the negotiating table after a five-month hiatus.

In an exclusive statement to North Press, Roches excluded the lift of the sanctions on Iran as it called for the inclusion of all sanctions, the matter that is not going to be happened due to the refusal shown by American circles, for a simple example, the money sent to Iran for American hostages is taken from US taxes.

On the other, the US called to expand the agreement to include prohibitions on Iran’s control on militias and ballistic missile program, but "I do not think the Iranians are going to accept that."

"So I think there will a breakdown in the negotiations which will lead to re-imposition sanctions based on who blames who for the breakdown," Roches added.

"The latest round of Iran nuclear talks ended because Iran right now does not seem to be serious about doing what is necessary to return to compliance with a 2015 deal," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said yesterday.

"The United States would not let Iran drag out the process while continuing to advance its program and that Washington will pursue other options if diplomacy fails," he told Rooters.

The NESA professor pointed out that most of the sanctions on Iran are imposed by the president, and there are some sanctions that are required by the law of Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA). Therefore, "it would just be political suicide for president Biden to lift these sanctions."

On December 1, the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iran had started the process of enriching uranium to up to 20% purity with one cascade, or cluster, of 166 advanced IR-6 machines at Fordow. Those machines are far more efficient than the first-generation IR-1.

Regarding the plan B which is being discussed every now and then, Roches indicated that "Plan A is JCPOA and plan B is to go in war with Iran," adding, "to go on war with Iran is plan ZZ it is way down the priority because president Biden does not want to have another war in the Middle East."

"In negotiating with Iran, the Iran is not negotiating in very good faith. There will be some attempts to counter some of Iran’s marine behavior like seizure of ships and attacks on neutral shipping in the Strait of Hormuz."

In his speech with North Press, the US analyst, mentioned Israel and its response to Iran’s acts in the region, "If Israel sees a clear threat and it thinks that it has the ability to do something about it, it will do it without waiting for American support or sanctions."

Following the Vienna talks, the diplomats of Britannia, La Belle France and Germany issued a statement saying, "Over five months ago, Iran interrupted negotiations, and since then, Iran has fast-forwarded its nuclear program."

"This week, Iran has backtracked on diplomatic progress made. Iran is breaking with almost all of the difficult compromises crafted in months of tough negotiations and is demanding substantial changes to the text that undermine the draft, which was between 70 and 80 percent finished," they added

Attorney Buta Biberaj is refusing to recuse herself from the case to remove School Board Chair Brenda Sheridan, despite what district parents say is an apparent conflict of interest.

Fight for Schools, the parent organization that filed to remove Sheridan, has now also filed a petition to remove Biberaj - who received a $861,039 contribution from the George Soros-funded Justice and Public Safety PAC during her 2019 election - from the case.

You give money to a non-profit organization that you have created. the non-profit can give as much as you want to any candidate.

[SUDANTRIBUNE] South Sudanese President Salva Kiir appointed brother-in-law deputy as the chief security, according to a decree issued on Wednesday.Major General Gregory Deng Kuac, as the new Deputy Director-General of the General Intelligence Bureau of the National Security Service (NSS), announced the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).

"In exercise of powers conferred upon me under section 17/1 of the NSS Act 2014, I Salva Kiir Mayardit, president of the Republic of South Sudan and Supreme commander of all the regular forces do hereby issue this republican decree for the appointment of Maj. Gen. Gregory Deng Kuac as Deputy Director-General of the General Intelligence Bureau, NSS with effect from 1 December 2021," read the decree.

Analysts say the move could be a preparation to replace General Akol Koor Kuc, a long-serving director-general of the internal bureau of the national security services.

Maj Gen Kuac served as the governor of the Gogrial State before its dissolution and the reestablishment of the 10-states system in the country.

What's Next for Govt. after Kordahi's Resignation?
[An Nahar] Conflicting reports emerged Saturday on whether Najib Miqati’s Cabinet will convene next week following yesterday’s resignation of Information Minister George Kordahi.

Unnamed sources told Kuwait’s al-Anbaa newspaper that the standoff over Judge Tarek Bitar’s probe into the Beirut port blast will be defused through partitioning the case and referring the accused ex-PM and former ministers to the Higher Council for Trial of Presidents and Ministers. The sources added that this would be the second part of a bargain that started with Kordahi’s resignation.

"The second phase begins with the convention of Cabinet in the presence of the ministers of Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
and the Amal Movement, which will likely happen on Friday," al-Anbaa quoted informed sources as saying.

Al-Joumhouria newspaper meanwhile reported that no "appropriate solution" has yet been reached despite the intensification of contacts.

It, however, added that "a new attempt is seeking to revive the first initiative of the Justice Minister, which had called for forming a judicial committee tasked with laying out the foundations on which the trial of presidents and ministers should be based."

Cabinet has not convened since October 14, when a political crisis erupted over Bitar’s investigations, with Hizbullah and Amal demanding that a decision be taken in Cabinet to remove him over alleged bias. President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
’s camp and other parties had meanwhile voiced their rejection of political interference in the judiciary.

Saudi Arabia, France Say Lebanon Must Enact Comprehensive Reforms
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
and La Belle France issued a common statement on Saturday saying that the Lebanese government must implement comprehensive reforms in the fields of finance, energy, anti-corruption and border control, the Saudi state news agency (SPA) reported.

The statement was issued after French President Emmanuel Macron visited Saudi Arabia and met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince and modernizer of Saudi Arabia as of 2016. The Turks hate him, so he must be all right, despite the occasional brutal murder of Qatar-owned journalists. As crown prince, Moe has quietly jettisoned his country's policy of trying to impose its religion on the rest of the world...
bin Abdulaziz.

Riyadh and Gay Paree also agreed to establish a common humanitarian mechanism to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese, the statement added.

'Horrific, cold-blooded murder': Civil-military leadership deplores Sialkot mob lynching
[GEO.TV] Pakistain's civil-military leadership on Friday strongly reacted to the Sialkot mob lynching, where a Sri Lankan national was tortured to death over allegations of blasphemy
...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran...
.The man, identified as Priyantha Kumara, was working as a production manager at a private factory on Wazirabad Road in Sialkot. The workers also vandalised the factory premises and blocked traffic.

Authorities have been able to arrest "more than 100 people" and claim to have apprehended the main suspect behind the incident, which has drawn sharp rebuke from a wide section of society.

In response to the incident, Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five...
said he was supervising the probe and vowed that the government would take action against the culprits.

"The horrific vigilante attack on [a] factory in Sialkot and the burning alive of [the] Sri Lankan manager is a day of shame for Pakistain," the prime minister said.
One of many. Usually they don't murder foreigners, but the dear departed probably looked like a Hindoo.
The premier said he was "overseeing the investigations and let there be no mistake all those responsible will be punished with [the] full severity of the law".

"Arrests are in progress," he added.

'DEFINITELY VERY SAD'
President Arif Alvi appreciated the "prompt action" taken by the prime minister and the government, as he termed the incident "definitely very sad and shameful, and not religious in any way whatsoever".
Just another disgrace on a disgraceful nation.
"Islam is a religion that established canons of deliberative justice rather than mob lynchings," the president noted.
That's why we never see them in other Islamic countries.
'COLD-BLOODED MURDER'
The Inter-Services Public Relations issued a statement on behalf of Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa which termed the act a "cold-blooded murder".

"The cold-blooded murder of Sri Lankan [national], Mr Priyantha Kumara, by a mob in Sialkot is extremely condemnable and shameful," the statement said.

"Such extrajudicial vigilantism cannot be condoned at any cost," it added.
Two thirds of them will be released without charges. The remainder will either skip bail or be acquitted down the road.
The ISPR said that Gen Bajwa has directed the army to extend "all-out support to civil administration to arrest perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice".

RASHEED CALLS FOR NATION'S COLLECTIVE EFFORT
Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed said the heartbreaking incident was condemnable and assured that federal agencies were assisting the Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

government in apprehending the culprits.

"National Crisis Management Cell is monitoring the situation [...] we will present the culprits before the court," the interior minister said.
While you're at it, why not round up the people who killed the Christian couple at the brickyard? Remember, they were burnt alive too.
Rasheed added that the entire nation would have to work to halt "extremism in the name of religion".
This happened in Pakistain, not in the world.
'MOST REPREHENSIBLE ACT'
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan termed the incident "shameful and most reprehensible".
They don't feel shame like we do, and they never get reprehended.
"No one can take law into their own hands and kill and maim. [The Government of Pakistain] will make sure that those who did this act are arrested, brought before law and justice is delivered ASAP," he said.
Sure they will.
'HORRIFIC'
Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari said mob violence was not acceptable under any circumstances as Pakistain had laws to deal with "all" offences.
Happens all the time. Ask Mukhtaran Mai.
"Horrific and condemnable act of the mob attack on factory and murder of Sri Lankan manager in Sialkot [...] Punjab govt's action must & will be firm and unambiguous," the minister said.

'HEARTBREAKING; BRUTALITY'
PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz said the incident was heartbreaking and wondered whether "this brutality" was the country's identity.
It's the sort of thing I think of every time I think of Pakistain.
"Is this brutality our identity and the future of our coming generations? Will this country be considered a safe country? Will this state be considered safe? Whom will a person ask a question, when there is no such thing as a government?" she asked.

'TIME WE FOLLOWED PROPHET'S (PTUI!) MESSAGE'
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif
...Pak dynastic politician, brother of PM Nawaz Sharif, chief minister of Punjab...
dubbed the incident as "utterly horrific and shocking", as he said that such actions must be condemned and discouraged.

The PML-N president said the people responsible should be held responsible in line with the law. "It is time we followed our beloved Prophet's (PTUI!) message of peace, compassion, love, and mercy for all in true letter and spirit!"

'WEAPONISING RELIGION LEADS TO MOB RULE'
PPP Senator Sherry Rehman said "weaponising religion leads to mob rule" and stressed that religion could not be used to justify unlawful acts.

"Justice lies at the heart of legitimacy and must be done by the state. [...] Sialkot is a terrible example that has to be addressed head on," the PPP senator said.

TLP DEMANDS TRANSPARENT PROBE
Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain's (TLP) spokesperson said that it was a disappointment that some elements were connecting the TLP to the incident.

"The Sialkot incident must be investigated transparently keeping in mind various angles, including the context of the incident and the conspiracy factor," stated the spokesperson.

"All those who are part of the Sialkot lynching should be arrested."

The TLP spokesperson added that no one would be allowed to take the law into their hands if rule and law were established in the country.

"Our country cannot tolerate chaos and bloodshed."

'INSULT TO ISLAM AND HUMANITY': JI
Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
chief Siraj-ul-Haq condemned the Sialkot lynching in the strongest words, saying that it was an insult to Islam and humanity.

"The cold-blooded murder of the Sri Lankan factory manager has brought shame to Pakistain," he lamented. "A transparent inquiry should be held into the incident and all those found guilty should be handed exemplary punishments."

Maryland homeowner who tried to get rid of a snake infestation by smoking out the reptiles sets off massive blaze and burns down $1.8M house
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • A Maryland homeowner tried to rid the house of a snake infestation by smoking the serpents out, but ended up setting off a massive fire by accident

  • The fire required 75 firefighters from Dickerson and neighboring towns to battle the blaze at around 10 pm

  • By the time authorities arrived, the multi-story home had its roof and structure collapse, while showing heavy amounts of flames

  • To make matters worse, MCFRS spokesman Pete Piringer said there was no fire hydrants near the home, which has a nearly mile-long driveway

  • No one was injured in the fire, which was deemed accidental

  • The status of the snake infestation remains 'undetermined,' said Piringer

Sulaimani to Dover: The journey of a young Kurdish migrant to the UK
Very long, but an easy read.
[Rudaw] The weather was getting cold and wet when Harem Osman (not his real name) arrived on the French coastline in late October, hoping to board a dinghy that would take him to the UK. He had set off from the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq with a group of friends in October, taking a route which had seen him travel through Belarus, Poland, Germany, and finally La Belle France, where he says he could even see the white cliffs of Dover not far from where he was sleeping rough in northern La Belle France.

Harem said that he travelled with seven of his friends from Sulaimani province on a "guaranteed journey" to the UK which cost him 16,000 dollars.
"Life was not easy in Kurdistan, the last job that I did was selling watermelon by the side of the road with my dad," Harem said. "I wanted to come to the UK to work."

Harem and his friends were determined to reach the UK but as he watched and heard the ordeals of so many migrants colonists, mostly Iraqi Kurds, who would jump into inflatable boats from the coastline of Dunkirk before falling into issues and having to be rescued by the French coastguard, he made a promise to find another way to reach the UK.

Suppliers Of Food Items To Boko Haram In Borno Nabbed
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The North East Chairman and Commander of Hunters/Vigilantes (Sarkin Baka) in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State, Shawulu Yohanna, has arrested some people supplying food to Boko Haram
...Nigeerian Islamist group, formerly paying homage to al-Qaeda, then, when the money ran out, to the Islamic State, and headed by nutcase Abu Bakr Shekau. Once he exploded in a gunfight with ISWAP, many in the group surrendered to the govt and others went with their new overlords. The remainder are a shell of their former selves, stmbling glassy-eyed and lonely through the Sambisa Forest and the soothing waters of Lake Chad, asking themselves What is truth?, or maybe just I wonder what's for dinner? I hope it's not rhinocerous again! ...
and recovered N6.050million in their possession.
At the current exchange rate of 1 NGN = 0.00243486 USD, 6.05million Naira is about US$14,700.
The development followed calls by concerned residents in Hawul and other communities of Garkida town of Adamawa State including Ishaku Yakubu, Mohammed Madu, Isa Mwajim and Peter John demanding Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, Mohammed Ali Ndume, and Chief of Army Staff, General Farouk Yahaya, to deploy troops of ’Operation Hadin Kai’ to the axis to protect lives and property of people as ahead of yuletide.

The community has come under series of attacks by terrorists and have since been without military formations since the beginning of the Boko Haram crisis.

The arrest of the Boko Haram food suppliers and recovery of over N6million was coordinated by Yohanna at the fringes of Sangere community bordering Tashan Alade, Sabon Gari and some parts of Askira Uba council area where Brigadier General Dzarma Zurkusu and four other soldiers were ambushed and killed by terrorists during operations in the theatre last month.

“The North East Chairman of Hunters, Alhaji Yohanna, and his team did a wonderful job this week. They acted on intelligence information that was given to them by some farmers.

“The farmers volunteered and hinted Yohanna that they usually sighted a truck conveying food items into the fringes of Sangare Village. If you are in Sangare, there are roads that will link you to some parts of Sabon Gari in Damboa Local Government, the other road will take you to Askira-Uba axis or Garkida and even to Hawul Local Government Area.

“Upon receiving the information, Yohanna mobilised his team and stormed the spot in the evening. Luckily, the team sighted the vehicle after its owner was about to hand over the food items to the terrorists, they (hunters) engaged them with fire and captured the driver and some other two occupants, while the terrorists fled having known the terrain better than their suppliers.

“After arrest, Yohanna interrogated the driver and the two occupants and they admitted that they have been supplying Boko Haram with food items for quite some time from Taraba State. They also told the hunters that they do supply even the commander of kidnappers in Taraba with food items.

“As it is, Yohanna and his team have already handed over the suspects to the Commanding Officer of the 231 Battalion, Biu in Borno State for further action,” a source disclosed.

Muttaqi Meets 16 Foreign Envoys in Doha
[ToloNews] The Islamic Emirate delegates led by acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi today in Doha met with "16 designated ambassadors and representatives" from various countries and discussed issues related to Afghanistan, the Foreign Ministry announced.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi said many of the ambassadors and envoys came from European countries, and there were also representatives from the United States, Australia and Canada.

Macron: France, Europeans Seek to Open Joint Mission in Kabul
[ToloNews] Several European countries are working on opening up a joint diplomatic mission in Afghanistan that would enable their ambassadors to return to the country, French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday, Reuters reported.

Western countries have been grappling with how to engage with the Taliban after they took over Afghanistan in a lightning advance in August as US-led forces were completing their pullout.

The United States and other Western countries shut their embassies and withdrew their diplomats as the Taliban seized Kabul, following which the Taliban declared an interim government.

"We are thinking of an organisation between several European countries... a common location for several Europeans, which would allow our ambassadors to be present," Macron told reporters in Doha before heading to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The United States, European countries and others are reluctant to formally recognize the Islamic Emirate, accusing them of backtracking on pledges of political and ethnic inclusivity and to uphold the rights of women and minorities.

US spooks say Russia is planning an invasion
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Russia is allegedly planning an invasion of Ukraine in early 2022, the Associated Press reports, citing a source in the United States presidential administration.

It is noted that the US intelligence has come to the corresponding conclusion.

According to them, Moscow allegedly plans to deploy up to 175,000 servicemen on the border with Ukraine, half of which are already deployed in positions.

The source also said that Moscow allegedly plans to send 100 battalion tactical groups to the border.

As reported by IA REGNUM , earlier the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said that the armed forces of Ukraine pulled forces into the conflict zone in the Donbass 125 thousand people.

This, according to her, is half of the entire composition of the country's Armed Forces. At the same time, violations of the ceasefire regime are recorded along the entire line of contact.

Says Russia Online:
The well-known Russian political scientist Sergei Markov came to this conclusion after analyzing the possible outcome of the escalation of the military conflict in eastern Ukraine. In an interview with the information portal Ukraina.ru, Markov spoke in detail about the “red line” that Kiev should not violate, and also explained what move the Russian army is using to completely demoralize the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sergei Markov first of all drew attention to the fact that the Russian Federation will be forced to intervene in the situation if Kiev nevertheless decides to launch a full-scale military operation against the residents of Donbass. Thus, the Ukrainian authorities will violate the "red line" by provoking an escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. This state of affairs will give Russia an excuse to implement a military strategy, thanks to which about 70% of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be transferred to the side of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

61 Baptist Church Worshippers, Nine Others Freed From Abductors In Kaduna After Ransom Payment
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

The abductors of 66 worshippers at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kaduna State, have set free the remaining 61 hostages from captivity.

Also, nine other persons regained freedom from the abductors after the payment of a ransom, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter, Rev Joseph John Hayab, said.

Recall that the worshippers were kidnapped on October 31 at Kakau Daji in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state. The bandidos reportedly shot at five of their victims, killing three and injuring two of them.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the bandidos asked for N99million as ransom to release the 61 persons in captivity.
At the current exchange rate of 1 NGN = 0.00243486 USD, 99 million Naira is about US$241,000 or about $3400 per Christian. This compares to the country’s per capita income of $2100, practically unchanged since 1981.

Fredo Fired by CNN
[NY Post] Embattled CNN anchor Chris Cuomo has been fired by the network, in the wake of new revelations about his close involvement with the political woes of his brother, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

"This is not how I want my time at CNN to end," Cuomo said in a statement issued by a representative.

"But I have already told you why and how I helped my brother," he continued.

CNN confirmed the firing in a statement, and said that Cuomo had been "terminated ... effective immediately" as an outside law firm continues to investigate "his involvement with his brother’s defense."

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
and wrote: "I want to thank Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the kind gesture."

On November 29, the central bank of Pakistain and the Saudi Fund for Development signed a deposit agreement for funds worth $3 billion.

According to a joint statement, under this deposit agreement, SFD shall park $3 billion in the SBP. "The deposit amount under the agreement shall become part of SBP’s foreign exchange reserves," it had said.

Suspected jihadists kill 30 in central Mali: Local officials
[AlAhram] Suspected jihadists killed at least 30 civilians in an attack on a passenger vehicle in central Mali's volatile Mopti, local officials said Saturday.

"The passengers were sprayed with bullets and the vehicle was torched," during an attack by "terrorists" near the town of Bandiagara on Friday, the officials told AFP.

"The state has sent security forces to the scene," they said, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
An elected official in Bandiagara confirmed the corpse count, saying the victims included women and kiddies.

The attack has not been claimed by any of the numerous gangs active in the West African country.

Mali has been struggling to contain an Islamist insurgency that first erupted in the north in 2012 and has since claimed thousands of military and civilian lives.

Despite the presence of thousands of French and UN troops, the conflict has engulfed central Mali and spread to neighbouring Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
and Niger.

Central Mali has become one of the most violent mostly peaceful hotspots of the Sahel-wide conflict, where ethnic killings and attacks on government forces are frequent.

A military coup last year, brought about after mass protest against the ongoing violence, has failed to stem the bloodshed.
The Times of Israel adds:
The mayor of Bandiagara, Housseini Saye, said the truck was carrying about 50 civilians when the gunmen attacked the vehicle Friday about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) outside the town.

“The shooting caused the truck to catch fire, and 31 people died, most of them burned to death,” said the mayor, who is also a member of Mali’s transitional parliament. “There were several injured and two missing.”

Mali’s transitional government said in a statement broadcast on state TV that 31 people were killed and 17 injured, and vowed to do everything necessary to “arrest and punish” the perpetrators.
More from the Guardian:
The bus was attacked on Friday by unidentified gunmen as it travelled its twice-weekly route from the village of Songho to a market in Bandiagara six miles (10km) away, said Moulaye Guindo, the mayor of the nearby town of Bankass.

“Armed men … shot at the vehicle, slashed the tires, and shot at the people,” Guindo said.

Also on Friday, unidentified armed men attacked a convoy belonging to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Mali, killing one civilian worker and wounding another, the mission said.

The convoy was travelling from the northern city of Kidal to Gao and came under fire about 62 miles north-east of the town of Bourem, the mission said.

ISIS is using an extremist group to carry out attacks in Iraq, Intelligence info confirm
[SHAFAQ] A senior military commander in the Peshmerga forces revealed that ISIS has used an Death Eater gang called "Jund Allah" to carry out attacks in Iraq.

The assistant commander of the Qara Tapa / Hamrin axis of the Peshmerga, Major General Muhammad Rustom, said that ISIS's capabilities have enhanced in Iraq, and began launching attacks instead of planting explosives and kidnapping shepherds to prove its presence in the country.

He added, "An Death Eater gang consisting of 200 elements called Jund Allah was separated from ISIS, but pledged allegiance to it recently, and was brought from Syria to Iraq and distributed to the governorates to carry out attacks."

He pointed out that this information was reported by the Global Coalition to the Iraqi authorities.

"A person close to the former terrorist leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was located in a specific area on the Syrian borders", he said, noting that he might be al-Baghdadi's brother or cousin.

He added, "This person made many changes in the terrorist organization's battalions, and warned them of accountability if they did not carry out the required activities."
Rudaw adds:
Fatal attacks by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) group against Kurdish Peshmerga forces have been on the rise, according to officials.

"We’ve been warning that ISIS [militants] are reorganizing since 2018. They have now reorganized in all the areas," says Mohammed Syasi, a Peshmerga commander on the Qaratapa-Hamrin front.

"They bring groups of button men from Syria every now and then. As we have learned, there was a group known as Jundullah [Army of God] that previously did not support ISIS. Now they are allied with ISIS," he added. "It is said that 200 faceless myrmidons have been brought from Syria to Iraq."

Ibrahim Ahmed, a Peshmerga commander on the Qaratapa-Hamrin front, says over 100-150 faceless myrmidons are present in the area.

"They make chaos. They destroy people's social stability. They are not a defending force. They attack and retreat. Their living quarters are in the Gharra area [near Kifri]. People definitely help them," he said.

"I don’t want to disclose their ethnicity. They are a mix of different ethnicities. There are Kurds, Turks, Arabs, Shiites, and Sunnies among them. Their food comes from these [neighboring] countries," the commander added.

Biden Admin Waives Sanctions on Iran as Nuclear Talks Restart
Of course he does. Wouldn’t want to inconvenience our Iranian friends.
[Washington Free Beacon] The Biden administration quietly waived sanctions on Iran to allow the hardline regime to sell electricity to Iraq, according to a non-public notification obtained by the Washington Free Beacon that was provided to Congress just as nuclear talks between the United States and Tehran resumed this week.

The timing of the waiver notification—which was signed Nov. 19 but not transmitted to Congress until Nov. 29, the day nuclear negotiations resumed—has prompted accusations the Biden administration is offering concessions to Tehran to generate goodwill as talks aimed at securing a revamped version of the 2015 nuclear deal restart following a months-long standoff.

During the several-month pause, Tehran increased its nuclear program, including the enrichment of uranium and installation of advanced nuclear centrifuges. One senior congressional source familiar with the matter said the delay in transmitting the waiver to Congress indicates the administration is sensitive to the optics of waving sanctions just as negotiations resume.

Richard Goldberg, the former director for countering Iranian weapons of mass destruction on Trump's White House National Security Council, told the Washington Free Beacon that the latest electricity waiver amounts to a "dressed-up Chanukah present to" Iran.

"This is just another unfortunate example of projecting weakness and deference at a time when the U.S. needs to build leverage and project strength," said Goldberg, who is now a senior adviser to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies think tank. "If the waiver was going to be renewed for Iraq relations, it should have been messaged and announced well before arrival in Vienna. It just screams desperation."

Iran insists the United States unwind all economic sanctions that were imposed by the Trump administration, a demand the Biden administration says it is willing to make good on. The E3—Germany, the United Kingdom, and France—said on Friday, however, that Iran's demands are "not serious," according to reports. "Iran is backtracking on almost all of the difficult compromises reached in months of tough negotiations and is demanding substantial changes to the text," E3 diplomats were quoted as saying in Axios.

The sanctions waiver gives Iran another 120 days to sell electricity to Iraq without facing penalties, an arrangement that has generated income for the hardline regime. The Trump administration had limited the waiver's time frame in an effort to wind down these sales, but the Biden administration renewed it for the maximum period of 120 days.

Time bombs planted in society will continue to explode if not defused: Fawad
[NATION.PK] Federal Minister of Information Fawad Chaudhry Saturday said that "time bombs that we planted in society will continue to explode if not defused".

In a series of tweets on Saturday, Fawad condemned the Sialkot incident and slammed the apathy towards such incidents and warned that it will lead to a bigger tragedy.

"I’ve been thinking what to write to condemn the Sialkot incident since yesterday, words have become useless. Such incidents only affect us for 48 hours, after which everything returns to normal."

"Until the next such incident occurs, our conscience remains buried; this apathy is an indication of a bigger storm. Blood has been spilled in the countries due to people’s dead conscience," he remarked.

Sudan sentences six militiamen to death for killing student protesters, PM sez time to disband militia
[SUDANTRIBUNE] El-Obeid Court in North Kordofan state Thursday sentenced to death six members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for the killing of student protesters two years ago.

On July 29, 2019, six students were rubbed out by the RSF snuffies as they dispersed angry protests in the capital of North Darfur state over food and fuel shortages and high inflation.

The death sentence
...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead...
did not include one of the RSF recruits who took part in the killing of protesters many of whom were wearing school uniforms. The court found that was a minor under the age of 18 when he committed the crime.

The SRF militia which operates under the command of the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereign Council Mohammed Hamdan Daglo Hemetti is widely accused of recruiting children, also they are accused of committing widespread brutalities and grave human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
violations in Darfur and South Kordofan.

The Public Prosecution had charged the Rapid Support personnel under Articles 21, 130 and 186 of the Criminal Code, related to criminal participation, premeditated murder and crimes against humanity.

RSF militia has no future in Sudan says Hamdok's adviser

[SUDANTRIBUNE] Yasir Arman, Political Advisor to the Sudanese Prime Minister, said that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have no future as an independent militia but must be integrated into the national army.

Arman who is also the deputy head of the SPLM-N Agar was recently appointed as a political advisor to Abdallah Hamdok. His appointment comes as the prime minister has seen a decline in his popularity due to harsh economic reforms and failure to achieve justice, especially for the victims of bloody raids by the RSF on the pro-democracy protesters in June 2019.

In an interview with Sudanese TV Saturday, Arman said he accepted the position offered to him last February because it would allow him to mobilize the Sudanese street to support the civilian-led transitional government.

Speaking about the RSF, Arman stressed the need to integrate the gunnies into the unified national army within a framework of the security arrangements agreed in the Juba Peace Agreement.

"We are against creating strife between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces, but the RSF have no future as independent forces because Sudan cannot have two armies."

Last May, the RSF General Commander Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo "Hemetti", voiced his rejection of the integration of his forces into the unified national army saying the militia was established by law by the former regime.

Arman pointed out that the RSF leaders can have ambitions, interests and fears.

"If its leaders have political ambitions, they should participate in the elections just like the others," he said.

"As for their interests and fears, they must be clearly discussed and resolved and a single national army is formed," he stressed.

Arman was referring to the idea that Hemetti who owns many companies engaged in gold mining, agriculture and trade wants to keep to protect his interests.

Hemetti reiterated several times his support for the democratic change in Sudan. He says he encouraged the army generals to stand with the popular protests and to oust the former president. However,

Hizbullah Says 'Open to Solutions' Leading to Cabinet Revival
Suggestions, yes, but not any changes that in any way reduce Hazbollah power.
[An Nahar] Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
is "still open to all solutions that lead to reviving Cabinet sessions," MP Hassan Fadlallah of the group’s Loyalty to Resistance® bloc said on Saturday, a day after one of two crises paralyzing Cabinet was resolved with the resignation of Information Minister George Kordahi."We in Hizbullah are seeking the success of the government in its work... and we have always expressed our support and encouragement for the ministers to carry out their missions and for the work of ministerial panels, but we also want the government to work collectively," the MP added.

He, however, noted that there is "a clear path that can be taken by those in charge" of the government in order to end the crisis.

"They have solutions in their hands which they can resort to in order to exit the crisis of its meetings’ suspension, especially that the reasons have become known," Fadlallah went on to say.

Cabinet has not convened since October 14, when a political crisis erupted over the investigations of Beirut port blast investigator Judge Tarek Bitar, with Hizbullah and Amal Movement demanding that a decision be taken in Cabinet to remove him over alleged bias. President Michel Aoun

Man accused in Boulder King Soopers shooting is found incompetent to stand trial
[Colorado Sun] Experts have found a man charged with killing 10 people at a Colorado supermarket earlier this year is mentally incompetent to proceed in the case, attorneys said during a court hearing Friday.

Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa,
the ISIS-curious, Trump-hating, untreated paranoid schizophrenic known wolf whose aggressive, infidel-hating Syrian refugee family did not bother to stop him from getting guns and running amok in a Jewish grocery store just before Passover. Mr. Al Issa would have preferred to shoot up a Trump rally the previous year, but the Covid shutdown meant the scheduled rallies were cancelled...
22, is accused of opening fire at a busy King Soopers in the college town of Boulder in March, killing a police officer, shoppers and several store employees including an Olympic hopeful distance runner.

His motive has not been revealed by prosecutors.

District Attorney Michael Dougherty said four doctors have now determined that Alissa isn’t mentally competent. He requested that Alissa be sent to the state hospital for treatment.

Senior SPLA-IO officers join Kiir's ruling party
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Four senior South Sudan People’s Liberation Army-In Opposition (SPLA-IO) officers have abandoned First Vice President Riek Machar and joined President Salva Kiir’s ruling Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM).The defectors made the announcement at a meeting with Kiir in Juba Thursday.

They were accompanied by traditional leaders hailing from the sections of the Malual Gahoth in Longechuk County and Maiwut County in Upper Nile State.

The defectors included Major Generals Khor Chuol Giet, Kang Riek Diew, Lol Nguoth Chom and the Longechuk County Commissioner, Wiyual Kun Gatluak.

Giet, who spoke on the behalf of the group, said they quit SPLA-IO to free people from tribal hatred and sectional conflicts allegedly spread by Machar’s aides.

He claimed the First Vice President was no longer recognized in the area because they have to control the civil population and the fighters in their constituencies.

"There is currently no more SPLM/A-IO in Gajaak areas and there is no going back. Our people are for peace, stability and they need service delivery", said Giet.

Attempted assassination of Turkey's Erdogan foiled - report
[JPost] Lira down, Mercs expelled from Libya, Erdy needs a new distraction
An explosive device was found under a police car securing a rally held for the Turkish president.

An assassination attempt on the life of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan was foiled by Turkish intelligence on Saturday evening, Turkish media reported. An explosive device was found under a police car securing a rally held for Erdogan in the southeastern city of Siirt.

The device was found only moments prior to the start of the rally, Turkish media reported.

After the device was found, it was dismantled and defused by a Turkish police bomb disposal team, according to Turkish news outlet KARAR.

Forensic investigators scanned the explosive device and police vehicle for fingerprints and an investigation to find the perpetrator has reportedly begun.

This is a developing story.
The Times of Israel adds:
A small bomb was reportedly attached to a car belonging to a police officer who was supposed to secure a rally attended by Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
on Saturday. The bomb was affixed to the undercarriage of the officer’s private car. The explosive was found on the officer’s vehicle in the province of Mardin, around 125 miles from the rally in the city of Siirt, the report said.

Virginia GOP completes sweep of elections with House win
[APNEWS] A three-judge panel overseeing a recount in a close Virginia state House race upheld the Republican candidate’s victory on Friday, a decision that also reaffirms the GOP’s takeover of the chamber and completes the party’s sweep of last month’s elections.

Republicans also claimed the statewide offices of governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general in the Nov. 2 balloting. Those wins were a dramatic turnaround in a state where the GOP had not won a statewide race since 2009. Democrats still hold a 21-19 majority in the Senate — where elections won’t be held until 2023 — splitting control of Virginia’s state legislature.

The certified results from the election showed Republicans leading in 52 districts and the Democrats leading in 48. The recount in the 85th District race resulted in Democratic incumbent Alex Askew gaining 12 votes, but he still trailed Republican challenger Karen Greenhalgh by 115 votes. There was one contested ballot. The panel found that the intent of the voter was unclear, so that ballot was not counted for either candidate. The 85th District covers a portion of the city of Virginia Beach.

After Democrats requested recounts in two races with razor-thin margins, that left open the remote possibility of a 50-50 split.

Though the second recount, in the 91st District, is still expected to proceed next week, Democrats no longer have a shot at undoing the GOP’s majority. Askew is an incumbent freshmen first elected in 2019, when Democrats flipped both the House and Senate.

After the recount results were announced, Askew thanked his supporters, campaign staff and volunteers.

"While this is not the outcome we hoped for, I continue to be filled with optimism for the future of our Commonwealth and of the city of Virginia Beach," he said in a statement.

House Republicans — who won 52 districts, according to the certified results — had said they were confident their candidates’ leads would hold.

"With only one recount outstanding, House Republicans are excited to begin working for the people of Virginia. Now that the majority is official, we can move forward with a timely transition as to be prepared to work on day one," Speaker-designee Todd Gilbert said in a statement after the results were announced.

Outgoing House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn praised Askew for his work in the House and congratulated Greenhalgh on her victory.

"While the results of the recount did not change the initial outcome of the election, it was a necessary step to ensuring faith in our Democratic process. And a similar, necessary process to ensure every vote is counted will occur next week in House District 91," Filler-Corn said in a statement.

Democratic Socialists of America won’t expel Rep. Jamaal Bowman for trip to Israel
“In the short term we have to tolerate such things to get to the long term, donchaknow. Kinda like Erdogan and his tram stations.”
[IsraelTimes] Group, which supports boycotting Israel, says it still sees him as an advocate in Congress for Paleostinian rights, despite visit and Iron Dome vote

Ever since he entered Congress this year, Rep. Jamaal Bowman has tried to walk a fine line between those who support Israel and its fiercest critics.

On Thursday, he got a signal that his balancing act was working: The Democratic Socialists of America — which endorses the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel, or BDS — opted not to expel Bowman for a trip he took to Israel last month with the liberal Israel lobby J Street.
The straight up Progressives who pretend to be pro-Israel — well they would be, if Israel were still run by the Labour Socialists — is a wholly owned subsidiary or Soros, Inc.
Activists in the DSA had called for Bowman to be expelled for the trip, in which he met with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, as well as for his recent vote to give Israel supplemental funding for its Iron Dome missile defense system. (The trip also took Bowman and his colleagues to Paleostinian areas of the West Bank.)
”Jews are icky, and anyone who talks to them is tarred by the same brush. Not racism — only Republicans are racist.”
But in a statement, the DSA’s leadership said that it would not expel Bowman because, in the big picture, it sees him as an advocate in Congress for Paleostinian rights and against what it calls the "Zionist lobby."
Protocols of the Elders of Zion stuff right there.
The group said it "strongly condemns" Bowman’s trip and Iron Dome vote. But it added that Bowman has "continued to criticize the Israeli government, while challenging his constituents to recognize Israel’s roots in the Nakba for Paleostinians." ("Nakba" is the word meaning "catastrophe" that Paleostinians use to refer to Israel’s creation, when many Paleostinians were expelled from Israel or fled
...mostly fled, planning to return in the train of the victorious Arab armies for the traditional pillage, plunder, and rape of the conquered juices...
and were prevented from returning.)
Photo at the link of Rep. Jamaal Bowman with Sally Abed and Alon-Lee Green of Standing Together, a progressive Jewish-Arab grassroots movement, during his visit to Israel as part of a Congressional delegation arranged by J Street
“We recognize the threat that Bowman and other members of the squad pose to the Zionist lobby and the important role DSA can play with them in advancing Paleostinian rights and anti-imperialist struggle at the federal level," the statement said, adding that the DSA would not endorse Bowman in next year’s Congressional election "unless he is able to demonstrate solidarity with Paleostine in alignment with expectations we have set."

The statement came after other activists, including the global BDS Movement, defended Bowman. The BDS Movement, in a statement that did not name Bowman, nevertheless said, "Partners are best positioned, we believe, to decide their objectives and strategies according to their context’s nuances and political particularities, while upholding the movement’s principles."

Bowman represents parts of the Bronx and Westchester, including neighborhoods with large Jewish communities, and has sent a range of signals on Israel in the 11 months he’s been in office. He has sponsored legislation to place conditions on aid to Israel, but voted for the Iron Dome funding. He’s sent out a fundraising pitch for IfNotNow, the left-wing Jewish group that frequently allies with BDS supporters, but also works with J Street. He has also met repeatedly with the Israeli consulate in New York.

He doubled down on taking the Israel trip in a Q&A with a group of college students this week, when he endorsed the establishment of a Paleostinian state alongside Israel and said Israel has a right to defend itself. He expressed a desire to return to the country and he also criticized Israeli leadership, including Bennett, for opposing the establishment of a Paleostinian state.

"Working with Israeli activists on the ground is really, really important because I’m telling you, I felt it," he said at the event on Monday. "There was this, ’Y’all aren’t over here, y’all in America, y’all can’t tell us what to do’ kind of vibe coming from some of the leaders that we met with."

Mossad recruited top Iranian scientists to blow up key nuclear facility
More on this story from two days ago.
[The Jewish Chronicle via Citizen Free Press] 90 per cent of the plant's centrifuges were destroyed, putting the complex out of action for up to nine months

Mossad recruited a team of Iranian nuclear scientists to carry out a covert operation which blew up one of the regime’s most secure nuclear facilities earlier this year, the JC can reveal.

Up to 10 scientists were approached by Israeli agents and agreed to destroy the underground A1000 centrifuge hall at Natanz in April, though they believed that they were working for international dissident groups.

Some of the explosives they used were dropped into the compound by a drone and quietly collected by the scientists, while others were smuggled into the high security facility hidden in boxes of food on a catering lorry. The ensuing destruction caused chaos in the highest echelons of the Iranian leadership. It demolished 90 per cent of the centrifuges at the nuclear plant, delaying progress towards a bomb and putting the key complex out of action for up to nine months.

The new details are among astonishing secrets of three connected Mossad operations that took place over an 11-month period of sabotage in Iran. The first two, in July 2020 and April 2021, targeted the complex in Natanz using explosives, while he third, in June this year, took the form of a quadcopter assault on the Iran Centrifuge Technology Company (TESA), in the city of Karaj, 30 miles northwest of Tehran. The full details are published for the first time by the JC today.

Afghanistan
Afghan Military Aircraft Abroad Being Returned: Officials
[ToloNews] Afghan military aircraft--fixed wing planes and choppers-- have been brought back from neighboring countries, authorities said on Saturday. Further details, such as the exact number of aircraft, was not provided.

With the rapid fall of the country to the Islamic Emirate, many Afghan Airforce pilots and maintenance workers, fearing for their lives, fled the country in military aircraft to neighboring countries.

The commander of the al-Fath Corps in the northern province of Balkh, Ataullah Omari, said that efforts were underway to transfer the aircraft back.

"Those aircraft transferred abroad have been returned to the country. As a result of continued efforts, some of the aircraft were brought back to Afghanistan," he said.

The Islamic Emirate once again called on Afghan pilots to return home, saying there is no threat to them.

Balkh Airforce Commander Zia ul Haq
...the creepy-looking former dictator of Pakistain. Zia was an Islamic nutball who imposed his nutballery on the rest of the country with the enthusiastic assistance of the nation's religious parties, which are populated by other nutballs. He was appointed Chief of Army Staff in 1976 by Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, whom he hanged when he seized power. His time in office was a period of repression, with hundreds of thousands of political rivals, minorities, and journalists executed or tortured, including senior general officers convicted in coup-d'état plots, who would normally be above the law. As part of his alliance with the religious parties, his government helped run the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, providing safe havens, American equipiment, Saudi money, and Pak handlers to selected mujaheddin. Zia died along with several of his top generals and admirals and the then United States Ambassador to Pakistain Arnold Lewis Raphel when he was assassinated in a suspicious air crash near Bahawalpur in 1988...
Assim said that maintenance staff had recently repaired an aircraft that was broken.

"An aircraft was broken, and it should have been sent to Dubai for repairs... but our engineers and maintenance repaired the aircraft," said Ziaulhaq Assim, commander of Balkh Airforce.

This comes as the Afghan Air Force conducted a military drill about one week ago.

Acting Defense Minister Mullah Mohammad Yaqob said that the Islamic Emirate was committed to establishing a strong Air Force.
