Chemical weapons watchdog warns against strikes on Syria’s stockpiles
[IsraelTimes] Raids could cause contamination, harm evidence in ongoing investigations, says Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) chief Fernando Arias, after Israel attacked stockpiles to keep them out of extremists’ hands.

Demoralized and abandoned by allies: Why Syria’s army didn’t fight for Assad
[IsraelTimes] Corruption, underpaid soldiers, poor morale and dependence on Iran and Russia led to desertions and military collapse as rebel advance stormed through Syria without much of a fight

Twenty-three-year-old Syrian military conscript Farhan al-Khouli was badly paid and demoralized. His army outpost in scrubland near the rebel-held city of Idlib should have had nine soldiers but it just had three, after some had bribed the commanding officers to escape serving, he said.

And, of the two conscripts with him, one was regarded by his superiors as mentally unfit and not trusted with a gun, Khouli said.

For years, the Salafist tough guys of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS) had sat behind the nearby frontline, with Syria’s long civil war frozen. But on Wednesday, November 27, Khouli’s commanding officer — at another post behind the frontlines — called his mobile phone to tell him a rebel convoy was heading his way.

The officer said the unit should stand its ground and fight.

Instead, Khouli put his phone on airplane mode, changed into civilian clothes, dropped his rifle and fled. As he walked along the road back south, other groups of soldiers were abandoning their posts too.

"I looked back and saw everyone walking behind me. When they saw one person flee, everyone started to toss their weapons and run," he told Rooters this week in Damascus, where he has found work at a horse stable.

In a little less than two weeks, the rebels would sweep into the capital Damascus, toppling former president Bashir al-Assad as his army simply melted away. The rout abruptly ended a 13-year conflict that had killed hundreds of thousands of people.

Rooters spoke to a dozen sources including two Syrian army deserters, three senior Syrian officers, two Iraqi militia commanders working with the Syrian army, a Syrian security source and a source familiar with the thinking of Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, one of Assad’s main military allies.

The sources, along with intelligence documents Rooters found in an abandoned military office in the capital, painted a detailed picture of how Assad’s once-feared army had been hollowed out by the demoralization of troops, heavy reliance on foreign allies particularly for the command structure, and growing anger across the ranks at rampant corruption.

Most of the sources asked not to be named because they were not authorized to talk to media or feared retribution.

Since the war began in 2011, Assad’s army command had come to depend on allied Iranian and Iran-funded Lebanese and Iraqi forces to provide the best fighting units in Syria, all the senior sources said.

Crucially, much of the Syrian military’s operational command structure was run by Iranian military advisors and their militia allies, they said.

But many of the Iranian military advisers had left this spring after Israeli air strikes on Damascus, and the rest departed last week, said the Iraqi militia commanders, who worked alongside them.

Hezbollah fighters and commanders had already mostly left in October to focus on the escalating war in Leb

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
with Israel, the source familiar with Hezbollah thinking said.

The Syrian army’s own central command and control center no longer functioned well after the Iranian and Hezbollah officers left and the military lacked a defense strategy, particularly for Syria’s second city of Aleppo, a Syrian colonel, two Syrian security sources and a Lebanese security source familiar with the Syrian military said.

By contrast, rebels in the northwest, on paper numerically far weaker than the army, had spent years consolidating under a single operations room that coordinated their groups and units in battle, an International Crisis Group report said after the fall of Aleppo.

Rooters was unable to contact a current representative of the armed forces. Syria’s new most powerful figure, HTS chief Ahmad al-Sharaa told Rooters on Wednesday he would dissolve Syria’s security forces. Iran’s mission to the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
, the Iraqi militias and Hezbollah did not respond to requests for comment.

THE FALL OF ALEPPO
As Aleppo came under attack in late November, army units were not given a clear plan but were told to work it out for themselves or to fall back to the strategic city of Homs to try to regroup, two Syrian security sources said.

Aleppo fell without a major fight on November 29, just two days after the offensive began, sending shockwaves through the military, three senior Syrian officers said.

What was left on the ground was a Syrian army severely lacking in cohesion, all the sources said, describing multiple units that were undermanned because officers were accepting bribes to let soldiers off duty, or had told soldiers to go home and were collecting their salaries themselves.

In 2020, the army had 130,000 personnel, according to think tank IISS’ Military Balance report, describing it as significantly depleted by the long civil war and transformed into an irregularly structured, militia-style organization focused on internal security.

In the days ahead of the regime’s collapse on Sunday, the United States had information of broad levels of desertions and military forces changing sides, as well as some elements fleeing to Iraq, a US official, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said.

Rooters could not establish the overall manpower shortage in the military or current force strength.

The Syrian army sources described officers and troops alike as demoralized by pay that was consistently low even after painful military victories earlier in the war and by reports, which Rooters could not verify, that Assad’s close family were growing immensely rich.

On November 28, the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces issued a telegram, ordering all troops to be on full combat readiness, according to a military document found by Rooters at an Air Intelligence office in Damascus.

In a sign the regime was desperate, Syria’s Air Intelligence Directorate, a key agency close to the Assad family, accused its men of "laxity" at checkpoints throughout the country after one was overrun by rebels in the south on December 1, and warned of punishment "without leniency" if they did not fight, the document seen by Rooters shows.

Despite the orders and threats, increasing numbers of soldiers and officers began to desert, all the sources said.

Instead of confronting the rebels, or even unarmed protesters, soldiers were seen by residents of Syrian cities, and in many videos that began circulating online, abandoning their posts, changing into civilian clothes and going home.

Rooters journalists entering Syria on Sunday found army uniforms still strewn across Damascus streets.

CORRUPT OFFICERS
The corruption and poor morale went up through the ranks.

Many midranking officers had been growing increasingly angry in recent years that the army’s sacrifices and successes during the war were not reflected in better pay, conditions and resources, two serving, one recently retired and one defected officer said.

In 2020, Russia and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
agreed a deal that froze the frontlines after Assad retook all major cities and the main highway linking Damascus to Aleppo, further partitioning a country also split by Kurdish-controlled areas.

But Syria’s economy continued to reel from US sanctions and reduced foreign aid, said Aron Lund, a fellow at Middle East-focused think tank Century International. Rampant inflation ensued.

"Things just got worse for everyone, except for the oligarchs and elites around Assad. That seems to have been incredibly demoralizing," Lund said.

While decrees in 2021 roughly doubled military salaries to keep up with inflation that topped 100 percent that year, buying power rapidly fell anyway as the Syrian pound crashed against the dollar.

Col. Makhlouf Makhlouf, who served in an engineering brigade, said that if anybody complained about corruption they were called in for questioning at a military court — something that had happened to him more than once.

"We were living in a scary society. We were afraid to say a word," Makhlouf said. He had been stationed in Hama but deserted before the city fell to the rebels on December. 5, he said in an interview in Aleppo on Tuesday.

Anger had been building particularly over the past year or so, a serving senior military intelligence officer said, saying there was "growing resentment against Assad," including among core high-ranking supporters from his Alawite minority community.

YEARS OF DECAY
Khouli’s military experience illustrated the army’s problems — and helps explain his lack of loyalty.

He was drafted for the obligatory 18-month service at age 19, after having paid-off an officer to delay his service for a year.

When his service period expired, he was ordered to remain in the army indefinitely. He deserted but was later picked up by a patrol, put in prison for 52 days and then sent to the remote outpost near Idlib.

He was paid 500,000 Syrian pounds ($40) a month. Army rations were often pillaged before arriving. Sometimes his entire pay went on buying more food, he said.

Comrades with money would pay officers $100, which he lacked, to get out of service, Khouli said. Khouli’s brigade was supposed to have 80 soldiers, but in fact there were only 60, he said.

He described bad treatment from officers, including being assigned heavy manual labor digging earth berms in both very hot and very cold weather and during nights.

Rooters was not able to verify independently the details of his experiences.

One former major described the use of forced conscripts as a "fatal mistake."

A former army logistics serviceman, Zuhair, 28, said in an interview in Damascus on Tuesday he had seen officers steal and sell electricity generators and fuel. "All they cared about was using their positions to enrich themselves," he said.

He had fought for Assad for years but he had cousins among the rebels and when they advanced, he cheered, he said. "I don’t know how to describe how happy I am," he said.

OVER RELIANCE ON ALLIES
To fight back the earlier opposition uprising, which began with protests in 2011, Assad relied on allies. Russia sent jets that bombed rebel positions, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
sent military advisers and fighters from Hezbollah. Iran-backed militias from Iraq and another group it formed from Afghan Shi’ite fighters also came.

Their fighting skill and well-being contrasted with Syria’s own soldiers. An Iraqi militia commander serving near Aleppo said he knew of a Syrian platoon meant to consist of 30 soldiers that had only eight present.

The militia often invited those soldiers to eat with them out of pity at the poor condition of their rations, the commander said.

Hezbollah and allied militias regarded the regular Syrian forces with little more than contempt, the Iraqi militia commanders and a source familiar with Hezbollah thinking said.

They did not trust them for important operations and often would not fight alongside them, those sources added.

OCTOBER 7 CHANGED EVERYTHING
Iran’s presence in Syria was curtailed in the months following the attack on Israel by Tehran-backed Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
on October 7, 2023, the Iraqi militia commander based near Aleppo and an Iraqi military adviser based in Damascus said.

Israel’s response to Hamas’ incursion, which killed 1,200 people and resulted in the kidnapping of over 250 hostages, included escalating strikes on Iran-linked targets, including in Syria.

On April 1, a strike killed top commanders from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards at a building in an Iranian consular compound in Damascus. Israel has not confirmed or denied responsibility for the strike, but it was widely attributed to Israel.

The Iraqi sources both said the number of Revolutionary Guards commanders present in Syria dropped significantly after that. One said Syria’s military operations command became ineffective as a result, a situation exacerbated by the withdrawal of Hezbollah in October.

Russia conducted air strikes on rebels as they advanced on Hama and Homs, both sides said at the time, but unlike in earlier phases of the war there were no effective ground forces able to benefit.

By Saturday, December 7, Russia was calling for a political transition. The Kremlin and Russia foreign ministry declined to comment for this story. Russia, the Kremlin said on Tuesday, had "spent a lot of effort" to help Assad during the civil war but the situation had then deteriorated.

In Aleppo, Syrian forces had relied on Hezbollah to provide operational command, an Alawite Syrian army colonel said. Without Iranian advisers or Hezbollah, the army could not hold onto territory near the city, the colonel, the Iraqi commander and the Iraqi adviser said.

Iraqi militias sent more fighters to Syria last week, but they found all the contact channels to Iranian military advisors had been cut, the Iraqi commander said.

On Friday, after rebels had taken the city of Hama, the Iraqi groups were told to leave, he said.

"The battle for Syria was lost from day one," the Iraqi military adviser added.

Report finds progress in Egypt’s education reform, with students taught peace, tolerance
[IsraelTimes] A new report by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se) notes significant progress in Egypt’s education reform, with 80% of schoolchildren now studying from revised textbooks. The changes promote peace, tolerance and coexistence while rejecting violence and extremism, IMPACT-se says.

The revised elementary curriculum has removed or restructured antisemitic and anti-Israel content. For instance, Israel is presented as a legitimate peace partner, and Christian Education textbooks reference Jewish historical connections to Jerusalem. Grade 9 students study the Israel-Egypt peace treaty, with students learning of the “advantages of peace for Egypt and the Arab states.”

However, prejudice persists in unrevised materials used in higher grades, which still depict Zionism negatively, the group says. These textbooks are slated for reform as part of Egypt’s ongoing 12-year curriculum overhaul, currently in its seventh year.

ActBlue Bombshell: Dem money platform tells Congress it didn’t block foreign gift cards until fall.
The times, they are a-changing. This time President Trump and the Republicans need to be sure to pass them into law, not just depend on executive orders than can be as easily reversed by the next president as the Biden administration did last time.
[JustTheNews] ActBlue disclosed that it updated its policies on Sept. 9 to “automatically reject donations that use foreign prepaid/gift cards."

ActBlue, the massive online fund-raising platform for liberal causes, has informed Congress it did not automatically block donations made with foreign-bought gift cards until recently, a potentially significant revelation in an ongoing investigation into whether China, Russia, Iran or Venezuela routed illicit money to Democrat candidates.
Or Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the PLO…
House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil, R-Wis., whose panel oversees election integrity, told Just the News on Tuesday that ActBlue turned over documents under subpoena showing a major change in September to its donor verification policies designed to protect against illicit money flowing into political campaigns.

ActBlue disclosed that it updated its policies on Sept. 9 to “automatically reject donations that use foreign prepaid/gift cards, domestic gift cards, are from high-risk/sanctioned countries, and have the highest level of risk as determined,” by its solution provider, Sift.

The change occurred just three days after Steil introduced the Secure Handling of Internet Electronic Donations (SHIELD) Act on Sept. 6 to ensure foreign money stayed out of online political fundraising. Before the change, Steil said, donations made with foreign gift cards were not automatically rejected by ActBlue before the change.
Or even rejected at all — it was to enable that kind thing that it was set up that way.
“While this is a positive step forward, there is still more work to be done to ensure our campaign finance system is fully protected from fraud and unlawful foreign interference," Steil told Just the News. "The documents provided to the Committee also confirm that ActBlue still accepted these concerning payment methods in July, a period when Democrats raised a record number of campaign money before implementing these safeguards.

Steil disclosed earlier this fall that his committee is investigating whether four foreign powers -- China, Russia, Venezuela and Iran -- used ActBlue to route illicit foreign money into Democrat coffers.

His committee referred thousands of suspicious donations to state attorneys general in five states, prompting an investigation that has now expanded to 19 states.
*Blink*
In addition, a Wisconsin Republican strategist filed a lawsuit in October alleging his email identity was misused to make Democrat and liberal donations he did not authorize or pay for. The judge in the case recently approved a subpoena compelling ActBlue to disclose certain evidence in the case.

Meanwhile, Steil and House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer have requested to see suspicious activity reports filed by banks flagging certain monies flowing through Act Blue. Comer recently alerted lawmakers there could be hundreds such reports to review.

ActBlue has broadly denied wrongdoing but says it is cooperating with the various investigations.
”We dindunuffin,” the spokescritter said (it wouldn’t do at all to assume the creature is human, after all).
It claims to have raised more than $2 billion in small online fund-raising donations for Democrat and liberal causes since its inception in 2004.
How much of it donated knowingly and willingly?
In a recent statement on its site to users, ActBlue said it was the victim of “disinformation” and was committed to complying with the law and protecting donors’ privacy.

“We rigorously protect donors’ information by maintaining a robust security program and strict fraud prevention measures – often beyond what is required by law,” it said. “ActBlue holds itself to the highest legal and ethical standards, and all contributions made through ActBlue are disclosed in full compliance with federal, state, and local laws.”
Uh huh.
Steil said while getting to the bottom of any foreign funds that flowed through ActBlue is imperative, he also is focused on ensuring new legislation closes any potential loopholes that allowed bad actors to cheat on political fund-raising.

"We must keep working to ensure that no foreign funds were illegally funneled into U.S. political campaigns during this election cycle," he said. "It is also critical that we enact lasting reforms to prevent illicit contributions in future election cycles.
*Whoosh!* There goes the last Democratic candidate’s billion dollar election campaign kitty. It will be very interesting to see how much they can collect after seriously annoying major donor classes and being constrained to comply with election laws.
"Advancing legislation like the SHIELD Act will permanently close these vulnerable loopholes and safeguard the integrity of our campaign finance system," he added.

IDF intercepts two drones from Iran’s proxies; no damage or casualties
[IsraelTimes] Sirens sound in southern Israel throughout the morning due to UAVs and apparent false alarms

The Israel Defense Forces said on Thursday that a drone launched from Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
was intercepted over the Red Sea, near Israel’s southernmost city of Eilat.

The drone did not enter Israeli airspace, the military said.

Earlier on Thursday, another drone heading to Israel from the east was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force over southern Israel, the military said.

There were no injuries in that incident either, and sirens did not sound in any towns. The IDF said alerts were activated in relevant areas "according to protocol."

The IDF has described past attacks from Yemen and Iraq as being launched "from the east."

Separately, the IDF said suspected drone infiltration sirens in southern Israel earlier in the morning were apparently false alarms.

terror group led a massive cross-border attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people and saw 251 taken hostage.

Israel has twice bombed Houthi targets in retaliation for their attacks.

The Houthis have also waged a harassment campaign against shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden during the Gaza war, severely disrupting the vital trade route.

They have targeted more than 80 merchant vessels with missiles and drones since the war in Gaza started last October,
…actually hitting a few of them, significantly damaging even fewer…
including seizing one vessel and sinking two in a campaign that also killed four sailors. Other missiles and drones have either been intercepted by a US-led coalition in the Red Sea or failed to reach their targets, which have included Western military vessels.

The rebels maintain that they target ships linked to Israel, the US, or the United Kingdom to force an end to Israel’s campaign against the Hamas terror group in Gaza. However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
many of the ships attacked have had little or no connection to the conflict, including some bound for Iran.

Trump hopes to keep winning when he takes ABC News, CBS News to court over alleged 'dishonest reporting'
[FoxNews] Trump seeks legal wins against ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, CBS’ ’60 Minutes’

President-elect Donald Trump is not letting up in a pair of high-profile lawsuits against ABC News and CBS News, even after his resounding White House victory last month.

Trump is suing ABC News and anchor George Stephanopoulos for defamation over on-air remarks he made earlier this year. Trump is also suing CBS News for $10 billion in damages, stating the network practiced "deceptive conduct" for the purpose of election interference in its interview in October with Vice President Kamala Harris. Both lawsuits remain active and ongoing with a pre-trial discovery hearing set for Friday in the suit against the Disney-owned outlet, while the CBS suit could potentially impact an enormous media merger.

"President Trump will continue to hold those who have committed, and are committing wrongdoings, accountable for blatantly false and dishonest reporting, which serves no public interest and only seeks to interfere in our elections on behalf of political partisans," incoming Trump White House communications director Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital.

The first lawsuit stems from comments ABC's Stephanopoulos made in March when he asserted that Trump was found "liable for rape" in a civil case.

Stephanopoulos' comments were made during a tense exchange with Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., on his Sunday program "This Week." After playing a clip of Mace discussing being a victim of rape, Stephanopoulos asked her, "How do you square your endorsement of Donald Trump with the testimony we just saw?"

"You've endorsed Donald Trump for president. Judges and two separate juries have found him liable for rape and for defaming the victim of that rape," Stephanopoulos said, alluding to the legal victory by Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll.

Stephanopoulos repeated that claim ten times during his spat with Mace, despite the fact that a jury actually determined Trump was liable for "sexual abuse," which has a distinct definition under New York law.

After the federal jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse, but not rape, Judge Lewis Kaplan wrote in a later ruling that just because Carroll failed to prove rape "within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape.’"

The suit against ABC recently saw the start date for a jury trial pushed from April 2025 to June 2025 after both sides sought extensions.

U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Judge Lisette M. Reid issued a protective order last month urging parties to engage in "disclosure and discovery which may involve, among other things, the production of documents and information deemed confidential, including confidential newsgathering, research, or commercial information, and personal information of parties and third parties," an "entry of a protective order pursuant to Rule 26(c) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is necessary to protect such information that may be produced or provided by the parties or non-parties" whereas "good cause exists for entry of a protective order of confidentiality."

ABC stood by Stephanopoulos following the interview. Pre-trial discovery hearings have been set for December 13 and December 19.

Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against CBS came when he accused the network of practicing "deceptive conduct" for the purpose of election interference in its "60 Minutes" interview with Harris.

Correspondent Bill Whitaker asked Harris why it seemed like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasn’t listening to the United States. However, the vice president’s lengthy answer that aired on Oct. 6 didn’t make the version that aired the following night on "60 Minutes" and a shorter, significantly more focused answer to the same question was shown instead.

CBS insisted it was edited down for time, but Trump’s legal team feels otherwise.

Trump attorneys said the complaint is due to "CBS’ partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference through malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion calculated to confuse, deceive, and mislead the public." They also argued the edits were done in an effort to "attempt to tip the scales in favor of the Democratic Party as the heated 2024 Presidential Election — which President Trump is leading — approaches its conclusion."

"President Trump brings this action to redress the immense harm caused to him, to his campaign, and to tens of millions of citizens in Texas and across America by CBS’s deceptive broadcasting conduct," the lawsuit states.

Last week, CBS filed a motion to dismiss over "lack of subject-matter jurisdiction and failure to state a claim," according to a court document obtained by Fox News Digital.

CBS’ legal team pushed to dismiss the suit with prejudice over a variety of reasons, including the claim that Trump’s "attempt to punish defendants for their editorial judgments is barred by the First Amendment."

There has been no further action since the notion to dismiss was filed.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Biden administration 'can't find' 500,000 migrant kids as Eric Adams changes sanctuary city policies
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
claimed the Biden administration has lost 500,000 migrant children as he announced plans to use executive orders to stop some of the Big Apple's 'sanctuary city' policies.

Adams met with Donald Trump's incoming 'border czar' Tom Homan on Thursday, with the Democratic mayor expressing an enthusiasm to work with the incoming administration amid the president-elect's promise of mass deportations.

Following the meeting Adams defended his recent efforts to work with the Trump administration while taking a swipe at the Biden White House for its inaction on the migrant crisis.

'We have 500,000 children who have sponsors in this country that we can't find. We can't find them,' he said.

'We don't know if they're doing child labor, sex crimes, being exploited, 500,000 children,' Adams reiterated.

'There is a level of hypocrisy for people who say they want to protect everyone. I want to support innocent children and those who are victims of crimes. Those who don't understand that, it's not up to me to try to convince them.'

In the weeks since Trump´s election win, Adams has mused about potentially scaling back the city´s so-called sanctuary policies and coordinating with the incoming Trump administration on immigration.

'New York remaining a sanctuary city is determined by the city council, I'm going to attempt to use my executive orders to go after dangerous people committing violent acts against migrants, asylum seekers, longtime New Yorkers, and undocumented immigrants. No one should be a victim of crime in this city - particularly violent crimes.'

He has also said migrants accused of crimes shouldn´t have due process rights under the Constitution, though he eventually walked back those comments.

The mayor's meeting with Homan, who will oversee the southern and northern borders and be responsible for deportation efforts in the Trump administration, came as Adams has welcomed parts of the president-elect's hardline immigration platform.

Adams told reporters at a brief news conference that he and Homan agreed on pursuing people who commit violent crimes in the city but did not disclose additional details or future plans.

'We´re not going to be a safe haven for those who commit repeated violent crimes against innocent migrants, immigrants and longstanding New Yorkers,' he said.

'That was my conversation today with the border czar, to figure out how to go after those individuals who are repeatedly committing crimes in our city.'

The meeting marked Adams' latest and most definitive step toward collaborating with the Trump administration, a development that has startled critics in one of the country's most liberal cities.

The mayor further stunned Democrats when he sidestepped questions last week on whether he would consider changing parties to become a Republican, telling journalists that he was part of the 'American party.' Adams later clarified that he would remain a Democrat.

For Adams, a centrist Democrat known for quarreling with the city's progressive left, the recent comments on immigration follow frustration with the Biden Administration over its immigration policies and a surge of international migrants in the city.

He has maintained that his positions have not changed and argues he is trying to protect New Yorkers, pointing to the law-and-order platform he has staked out throughout his political career and during his successful campaign for mayor.

At his news conference Thursday, Adams reiterated his commitment to New York´s generous social safety net.

'We´re going to tell those who are here, who are law-abiding, to continue to utilize the services that are open to the city, the services that they have a right to utilize, educating their children, health care, public protection,' he said.

'But we will not be the safe haven for those who commit violent acts.'

While the education of all children present in the U.S. is already guaranteed by a Supreme Court ruling, New York also offers social services like healthcare and emergency shelter to low-income residents, including those in the country illegally.

City and state grants also provide significant access to lawyers, which is not guaranteed in the immigration court as they are in the criminal court.

Still, Adams´ recent rhetoric has been seen by some critics as an attempt to cozy up to Trump, who could potentially offer a presidential pardon in his federal corruption case.

Adams has been charged with accepting luxury travel perks and illegal campaign contributions from a Turkish official and other foreign nationals looking to buy his influence. He has pleaded not guilty.

Homan, who was Trump´s former acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement director, also met this week with Republicans in Illinois, where he called on Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, both Democrats, to start negotiations over how Trump's mass deportation plans, according to local media.

Separately, New York City officials this week announced continued efforts to shrink a huge emergency shelter system for migrants because of a steady decline in new arrivals.

Among the planned shelter closures is a massive tent complex built on a federally owned former airport in Brooklyn, which advocates have warned could be a prime target for Trump's mass deportation plan.

Elsewhere, Republican governors and lawmakers in some states are already rolling out proposals that could help him carry out his pledge to deport millions of people living in the U.S. illegally.

Like, remember that gal who video'd herself walking the streets to document cat calls or whatever? If someone did that in the NYC subway the censors would absolutely zap the video, bad.

Cyber
Google founder Sergey Brin is the latest tech titan to make Mar-a-Lago pilgrimage for Trump meeting
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] One of Google's billionaire founders is the latest tech giant to cozy up to Donald Trump, dining with the president-elect at his Mar-a-Lago home on Thursday night, according to multiple sources.

It is a remarkable turnaround for Sergey Brin, who described Trump's 2016 win as 'deeply offensive.' But it shows how the online aristocracy is having to set aside their worries to grapple with a new reality.

Details of his visit emerged hours after Facebook's parent company Meta and Amazon revealed they were giving $1million to Trump's inauguration fund. All of them are playing catch-up as Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, watches his fortune grow as he sits in on meetings at Trump's political headquarters.

Google was one of the companies that Trump this year accused of being part of an election plot against him.

A source familiar with Brin's visit told DailyMail.com that it was set up by Jessica Reed Kraus, an Instagram influencer known as HouseInhabit, who is close to the Brin family.

'It was Sergey who reached out and wanted to have dinner with Trump,' said the source.

'Of course Trump said yes. These are the biggest companies on the planet and he takes them very seriously.

'But you can bet he always was frank in telling them what he thinks of them.'

Trump returned to his Palm Beach home on Thursday afternoon after visiting New York, where he was named Time Man of the Year. It was a rare public appearance. Trump has kept the media at bay since winning the election, forgoing publicity in favor building his administration, with dozens of meetings and personnel interviews every day.

On Thursday evening, it was back to business with Brin, who is worth an estimated $146 billion.

Brin was previously married to Nicole Shanahan, who went on to become Robert F. Kennedy's Jr.'s running mate. The Wall Street Journal reported that their marriage broke down after she had an affair with Trump's self-proclaimed 'first buddy' Musk, which could have made for an awkward atmosphere, although all parties deny it

Brin's visit to Mar-a-Lago marks an extraordinary turnaround from Trump's last victory in 2016. Then Brin and other Google executives were caught on a video expressing their horror.

The Wall Street Journal reported that their marriage broke down after she had an affair

'As an immigrant and a refugee, I certainly find this election deeply offensive and I know many of you do, too,' Brin said.

'I think it’s a very stressful time. It conflicts with many of our values. It’s a good time to reflect on that.'

Trump filed lawsuits against Google and Meta in 2021, accusing them of censorship for banning him from social media platforms.

And this year Trump threatened Google after reports surfaced that it allowed the Biden-Harris campaign to use doctored headlines in adverts.

In a post on his Truth Social website, he said: 'Google is a Crooked, Election Interference Machine. Totally Illegal, they will pay a big price for what they are doing!'

Brin is the latest tech mogul to make the visit to Mar-a-Lago.

Elon Musk, the world's richest man, has been ever present at the president-elect's side, and coming out for Trump during the election.

Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook dined with Trump last month.

And Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos is reportedly due to meet Trump next week.

Home Front: Politix
The Evaporation of the Obama Mystique
[AMGREATNESS] Barack Obama
I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody...
had long been rumored as the catalyst for the 2020 Biden nomination—and thereafter played the whispering puppeteer behind the subsequent lost Biden administration years.

As such he and his coterie proved the virtual architects of the Biden administration, one of the most unpopular and failed presidencies in American history.

Recall earlier that after a flailing candidate Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
lost the first three 2020 primaries and caucuses, his inert campaign was headed nowhere.

Barack Obama and fellow Democratic insiders abruptly engineered the withdrawal of his rival 2020 presidential candidates: hard left but likely sure-loser candidates, including Bernie Sanders

...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being an Independent socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
, Elizabeth Being Native American has been part of my story since the day I was born Warren
...The Great White Squaw, Lizzie is the Dem Senatrix from Massachussetts. She traces her noble lineage all the way back to Big Chief Spouting Bull. She has high cheekbones that stretch all the way to the top of her head. It has been alleged that she speaks with forked tongue but she denies that. She had a DNA test to prove her lineage and it turns out she's colorless...
, and Pete Buttigieg

...the testicleless former mayor of South Bend, Indiana. Buttigieg graduated from Harvard College and, on a Rhodes Scholarship, from Pembroke College, Oxford. From 2007 to 2010, he worked at McKinsey and Company, a consulting firm. From 2009 to 2017 Buttigieg served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve, attaining the rank of lieutenant and deploying to Afghanistan in 2014. Buttigieg was first elected mayor of South Bend in 2011 and was reelected in 2015. During his second term, he announced he was gay, which surprised no one. Buttigieg also campaigned for Indiana state treasurer in 2010 and for chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2017, losing both elections. He ran for the Dem nomination in 2020 on the theory that being mayor of a nondescript medium sized city is qualification to run the country. He lost that one too. Biden appointed him Secretary of Transportation, which he turned into shambles...

The Obamas ignored or withheld from the public their own firsthand knowledge that Biden was suffering from signs of dementia.

Instead, they found Biden's cognitive decline and his former concocted reputation as workingman's Joe useful as a veneer for a veritable Obama third-term, ''phone it in'' administration. Or as wistful Obama once conditioned his dream of a third term—''If I could make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a front man or front woman, and they had an earpiece in.''

The Obamaites then got their wish for four years of enacted hard-left directives that they could only have dreamed of while in actual power.

But their radical menu since 2021 had divided and nearly wrecked the nation—hyperinflation, 12 million illegal aliens, a ruined border, spiraling crime, a shattered foreign policy of appeasement, the popular backlash against DEI/Woke/trans chauvinism, partisan lawfare, and weaponization of the government.

And the ruling radicalism beneath the Biden facade eventually cost the Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
nearly everything—the presidency, the House, and the Senate.

An inert Biden is departing office with a 36 percent favorability rating in a recent Emerson poll. His Democratic nominee replacement, losing presidential candidate Vice President Harris, also has virtually vacated her office with 40 days left of her tenure.

Failed candidate Harris has been roundly faulted by staffers and donors for blowing through some $2 billion in assorted 2024 campaign money.

She ended up doing worse against Trump than Biden himself had in 2020.

Many Democrats believe that they might have done just as well had Biden stayed on the ticket even in his vastly diminished state.

The Obamas were further blasted for nullifying the wishes of 14 million primary voters by forcing Biden off the ticket—ironically in the same backroom, anti-democratic manner they had cleared the way for him in 2020.

Obama emerged from his comfortable retirement to hit the 2024 campaign trail, schooling the country that President-emeritus Donald Trump
...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down...
was a dictator, a fascist
...anybody you disagree with, damn them...
, a tyrant, and, of course, a ''racist.''

The more Trump polled even with, or ahead of, Kamala Harris
former senatrix from California, 2020 Dem presidential hopeful and ultimately Joe Biden's intended successor
, the more an exasperated and ignored Obama talked down to supposedly low-information voters.

But by the time Harris lost the election, voters had tuned out a nagging and patronizing Obama—and his stale, now-dated hope-and-changey boilerplate speeches.

What Obama did not mention, but what the voters knew, was that the border was more secure under Trump than during either the Obama or Biden tenure.

Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
invaded countries during the Obama and Biden administrations but stayed put on Trump's watch.

Barack Obama's bizarre vision of a new Middle East had sought to empower Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
as a supposed counterweight against moderate Arab nations and our ally Israel.

Years ago, Obama invited the Russians into Syria, empowered dictatorial Syria, berated Israel nonstop, and all but ignored the terrorist violence of Iran's surrogate Death Eaters of Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
, Hezbollah, and the Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s.

But after October 7, Israel retaliated to the mass slaughter of Jewish civilians with all-out war against Hamas and Hezbollah—rendering these once feared Death Eaters nearly impotent.

In an exchange of air attacks with Iran, Israel showed the world that Iran was as militarily weak as its chanting and threats were tiresome and shrill.

Iran is now tottering on the brink, as its terrorist appendages—including most recently the Assad dynasty—are melting away.

Israel and the moderate Arab regimes are in ascendance, as the entire crazy Obama-envisioned Middle East agenda melts away.

The 2024 anemic Democratic campaign and the Trump electoral college and popular vote victories—combined with record defections of Hispanic and African-American voters from the Democratic Party to Trump—proved a resounding rejection of the Obama legacy and his surrogates' left-wing visions.

Yet after the people spoke in the election, the more Obama whined that democracy itself had failed him. Voters, he remonstrated, who disagreed with him were written off as racist and sexist.

Obama again harped that constituents did not know what was good for them.

And then, the disappointed former community organizer suddenly disappeared—pondering to which of his own four mansions his private jet would fly him home to commiserate.

's border czar Tom Homan has revealed that the nation's largest mass deportation effort will begin in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
Homan, 63, the former acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement during Trump's first term, laid out his plans to remove migrants colonists who illegally crossed the southern border.

'Chicago is in trouble because your mayor sucks and your governor sucks,' Homan told the crowd at the Northwest Side GOP holiday party where attendees included Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson
...Hizzonner da Mare of Chicago. He was elected in April 2023 to replace the disastrous Lori Lightfoot and immediately set about out-Richtering her. A member of the Democratic Party (naturally), Johnson previously worked as a social studies teacher in the city's stellar public schools system. He helped organize the 2012 teachers strike. Prior to becoming Da Mare, he served on the Cook County Board of Boodlng Commissioners from 2018 to 2023...
He went on to call them both 'terrible,' while also urging them to follow in the footsteps of New York City Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
and 'come to the table' for discussions, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Homan also warned Johnson, who had vowed to fight the Trump administration's deportation plan, not to 'impede' his efforts.

'If he doesn't want to help, get the hell out of the way,' Homan said.

'If he knowingly harbors or conceals an illegal alien - I will prosecute him.'

Argentina''s Javier Milei Announces 90% Tax Reduction in 2025
[BREITBART] President of Argentina
...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita...
Javier Milei announced Wednesday that his administration is preparing a structural tax reform that will eliminate 90 percent of existing taxes in 2025.

Milei announced the plan, alongside other policies he seeks to implement in his second year in office, while marking the end of his first. Among them was a plan to negotiate a trade deal with President-elect Donald Trump
...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!...
's administration once he takes office in January.

Tuesday marked one year since Milei took office on December 10, 2023, and became Argentina's first libertarian president, succeeding socialist former President Alberto Fernandez. At the time he took office, Argentina faced a severe economic crisis that dramatically worsened as a result of Fernandez's disastrous socialist policies. Milei implemented a series of drastic ''shock therapy'' measures to avert the collapse of the country's economy and avoid a hyperinflation spiral.

Milei's policies successfully reduced the inflation rate in Argentina, dropping it from 25.5 percent in December 2023 to 2.7 percent in October 2024 while also allowing the nation to experience ten months of continued trade surplus as of November.

Additionally, Milei spearheaded a dramatic overhaul of the Argentine government during his first year, reducing the number of ministries from 18 to nine on his first day and outright replacing other institutions — such as Argentina's bloated AFIP revenue service, which was dissolved and substituted with a much smaller agency in November. The Argentine president also introduced a series of sweeping reforms that Congress passed in late June.

Milei marked his first year in office by delivering a speech in the evening hours of Tuesday in the company of his ministers and members of his administration. He reviewed the results of his policies and announced a series of upcoming measures.

China quietly carried out a sweeping military operation this week in the Western Pacific itslargest naval deployment in decades
[X]
Earlier this week, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) conducted a massive joint military exercise around the Taiwan Strait and Western Pacific, targeting the entire first island chain.

Taiwan’s military spokesperson said the scale of the naval deployment was the largest since the 1996 Taiwan Strait Crisis. In a notable first, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Theater Commands participated together in coordination.

According to Taiwan security sources, Chinese aircraft simulated attacks on foreign naval ships, practiced driving away military and civilian aircraft and intercepting commercial vessels during a “blockade exercise,” and rehearsed disrupting sea routes.

“The real objective appears to be asserting control within the first island chain and establishing strategic deterrence ahead of the U.S. presidential transition,” a senior Taiwanese national security official told AFP.

PLA designated 7 reserved airspace zones east of Zhejiang and Fujian. ROCArmedForces have identified PLA Eastern, Northern, and Southern Theater Command naval formations, along with Coast Guard vessels, entering areas around the Taiwan Strait and the Western Pacific.

US appeals court tosses Nasdaq board diversity rules
[REUTERS] A U.S. appeals court on Wednesday ruled that Nasdaq could not impose rules designed to increase diversity in corporate America by requiring companies listed on the exchange to have women and minority directors on their boards or explain why they do not.

The 9-8 ruling by the conservative-majority New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that the rules approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ran afoul of federal securities law.

The decision is a significant legal victory for opponents of policies meant to boost racial and gender diversity in corporations.

The diversity rules were challenged by conservative think tank the National Center for Public Policy Research and Alliance for Fair Board Recruitment, a group founded by Edward Blum, who led the successful U.S. Supreme Court challenge against race-conscious college admissions policies.

SDF says has deals with HTS, to send a delegation to Damascus
[Rudaw] Mazloum Abdi, chief of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced on Thursday that they have reached agreements with the new authority in Damascus, adding that they are working on sending a delegation to the capital.

"At the outset of the incident, HTS informed us that our territories are not their target," he said during an interview with the SDF-affiliated Ronahi TV aired on Thursday, referring to the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS) - a jihadist group which recently led a coalition of rebel groups and successfully toppled Bashir al-Assad’s regime.

The new authority has avoided festivities with the US-backed SDF so far.

"We have agreements with HTS regarding Aleppo and Deir ez-Zor," Abdi said.

When the HTS took over Aleppo city, they allowed the SDF to maintain its control of Kurdish-majority neighborhoods, mainly Sheikh Maqsood.

When the former regime’s army withdrew from parts of Deir ez-Zor to support Assad in other parts of the country, the SDF replaced them, saying the deployment was aimed at preventing the Islamic State

(ISIS) from exploiting the security vacuum.

The SDF remains in control of parts of the oil-rich province.

"Efforts are underway to send a delegation to Damascus for some negotiations," revealed Abdi.

The Kurdish administration in northeast Syria (Rojava) decided on Thursday to raise the new flag of the country, previously used by the opposition, across its institutions.

The flag, featuring three red stars and the colors green, white, and black, has been used by various opposition groups fighting against Assad’s oppressive regime.

Referring to it as "the flag of independence," Abdi said the flag is "suitable" for them "because this is not the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic but the flag of the Syrian Republic, which represents all components."

800 Yazidi women believed to be held in Syria’s rebel prisons: Activist
[Rudaw] Around 800 Yazidi women and dozens of Peshmerga fighters, who once were Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
[ISIS] captives, are believed to be held in a prison under the control of Syrian rebel forces, according to a rights activist.

Araz Jalal, a representative from the Egypt-based International Organization for Development and Human Rights, told Rudaw’s Nasir Ali this week that al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front (Jabhat al-Nusra), which has been rebranded as the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS), is still "holding 800 Yazidi women and girls who had been held hostage by the Islamic State (ISIS)" when the group attacked their hometown of Shingal in 2014.

Syria’s civil war dramatically reignited late last month when a coalition of rebels led by the jihadist HTS launched a blistering offensive against the Syrian army, seizing the northern cities of Aleppo, Hama, Homs, and ultimately capturing the capital Damascus as Assad fled the country, ending over five decades of Baathist rule.

Celebrations across Syria, sparked by the fall of the regime, were abruptly halted as stories about the inmates of the Sednaya prison in the Damascus suburbs began to emerge.

Hundreds of prisoners who were freed from the notorious prison, following the fall of the regime, have been admitted to hospitals across Syria to receive treatment following years of abuse. Families have flooded the hospitals looking for their long-lost loved ones.

Rudaw’s cameras inside the prison on Wednesday captured workers digging through walls and the ground, following social media rumors suggesting that more inmates might be in hidden sections of the prison.

Jalal also said that after the fall of ISIS in Iraq, nearly 60 Peshmerga fighters were held hostage by the holy warriors who were taken to Syria but have not been found yet. He believes that they were kept alive because they needed them for hostage exchange deals.

He added that after ISIS lost most of its territory in Syria, the Peshmerga hostages must have been transferred to the HTS or Syrian regime prisons.

"According to our information, about 60,000 prisoners have been released from Syrian prisons, but hundreds more have not yet been released," Jalal said.

Iraq
Five Amedi schools halt studies due to Turkey-PKK clashes
[Rudaw] Five schools in Duhok province’s Amedi district have halted studies due to ongoing clashes between the Turkish army and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the border areas of the Kurdistan Region.

Schools in Amedi’s Barche village on Wednesday halted classes and sent students home after two drones were dropped in the village. A day later, students of two schools in Barche, and three schools in the nearby Guharze, Balava, and Sargale villages did not return to school.

The decision was taken by the elders of the village.

“The security situation in all four villages is very bad…There are daily clashes between the Turkish army and the PKK guerillas,” Mala Lazgin Barchi, a resident of Barchi village told Rudaw.

“We decided that the students do not go to school until the [security] situation is resolved,” he added.

According to Barchi, at least 25 artillery and mortar shells have been dropped in the village since the start of the clashes.

Rebar Gwizi, the head of the nearby Deralok subdistrict, said that he will visit the villages to find a solution.

“Today I will visit the four villages and meet with the people to find a solution for that problem so that students can return to classes once more and continue their studies normally,” Gwizi said.

Turkey began intensifying its decades-long war against the PKK, especially in Duhok province, in mid-June after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan repeatedly said he would launch a new offensive during the summer. Ankara has deployed hundreds of troops to the province.

Erdogan said in March that Ankara is close to completing a zone that will “permanently resolve” the security issues along their border with the Kurdistan Region and Iraq by the summer.

Last month, Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler said that the Turkish army “secured” the key Zap area of the Kurdistan Region from the PKK. The Zap region was one of the last remaining routes for the PKK to move from the Kurdistan Region into Turkey.

The defense minister vowed to continue the army’s activities in the region.

Bill Clinton: I'm Open to Discussing Preemptive Pardon for Hillary Before Trump Takes Office
Such a loving husband.
[BREITBART] Former President Bill Clinton

…he was also a dear friend of Jeffrey Epstein, or at least greatly enjoyed partying with him…
said Wednesday on ABC's ''The View'' that he was open to discussing a potential preemptive pardon for his wife Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away. Politix is not one of her talents, but it's something she keeps trying to do...
with President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
Co-host Sunny Hostin said, ''Do you think it would be wise of President Biden to preemptively pardon any potential targets? What about your wife, Hillary Clinton? She apparently is on Kash Patel's list.''

Clinton said, ''They've got a problem with her because first, she didn't do anything wrong. Second, she followed the rules exactly as they were written. Third, Trump's State Department — Trump's State Department — found — remember how the emails were such a big issue in 2016? Trump's State Department found that Hillary sent and received exactly zero classified emails on her personal device. It was a made-up phony story.''

He added, ''So, you know, I guess if Kash Patel is determined to make one up, he could do it, but I think if President Biden wanted to talk to me about that, I will talk to him about it, but I don't think I should be giving public advice on the pardon power. I think it's too — it's a very personal thing, but it is — I hope he won't do that, Trump, you know. Most of us get out of this world ahead of where we'd get if all we got was simple justice. And so it's normally a fool's ear and to spend a lot of time trying to get even.''

If so, that's a blank ticket to murder any political party rival and never have the evidence released to the public to see....

OH! That's right, there's a lot that fits that scenario already.

#9  The Bidens are going to do bulk pardons as cover for the few ones that they want to hide. Their argument will be that sure they pardoned Liz Cheney, but they pardoned 10,000 other folks too. With respect to the political pardons, I don’t think you will see the people that participated in the summer coup. I also don’t think these will be cash deals as they would have to set up entirely new shell companies to process the payments. Instead, I expect to see Biden family members getting appointments to boards or a spike in the value of Hunter’s fecal collages.

Democrat John Fetterman says he's a 'hell yes' on a top Trump Cabinet pick
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Democrat Senator John Fetterman announced he is enthusiastically backing one of President-elect Donald Trump
...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!...
's top Cabinet picks.

Having split with his partly over the Israel-Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
war over his devout defense of Israel, the first-term Pennsylvania politician has carved out a unique position standing on the edge of his party's rightward line.

So it is fitting that he is one of the first Democratic senator to have met with any of Trump's Cabinet picks as most on the left hold their fire while GOP politicians take meeting after meeting.

Following a sit down on Wednesday with Trump's pick to lead the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
, Rep. Elise Stefanik, the 55-year-old former steel town mayor gave the upstate New York native a glowing review, all but saying 'hell yes' he will vote for her.

'Always was a hard yes for Elise Stefanik but it was a pleasure to have a conversation,' he wrote on X following their meeting.

'I support defunding UNRWA for its documented Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
infiltration and fully look forward to her holding the UN accountable for its endemic antisemitism and blatant anti-Israel views,' his post continued.

The image shows Fetterman, 6′ 8″, wearing his classic Carhartt sweatshirt towering over Stefanik who's donning a plaid blazer.

The pair can be seen smiling into the camera while each holding two thumbs up, indicating the Republican House Conference Chair and the Democrat senator had gotten along as fast friends.

#1  I listened to Shawn Ryan’s latest interview of Sarah “Superbad” Adams yesterday. She is saying that Hamas, AQ and ISIS have formed a cooperative which now is disbursing teams throughout the US and Europe for coordinated strikes similar to O7. If that is true, the Pro-Palestinian groups will be very unpopular in the US very soon.

Free Sednaya prisoners battle trauma, illnesses in Syrian hospitals
Heartbreaking.
[Rudaw] Hundreds of prisoners who were freed from the notorious Sednaya prison, following the fall of the Bashir al-Assad regime, have been admitted to hospitals across Syria to receive treatment following years of abuse.

Mohammed Salmu was only 19 years old when he was arrested and put in the infamous prison in Damascus. His relatives still do not know the reason behind his arrest.

Salmu has spent at least 43 years in the Syrian regime prisons.

He's severely traumatized, lost his memory, and is unable to speak.

"His condition is zero. He's worn out and has lost his memory. He doesn't respond and doesn't talk at all, he's scared. When we try to talk to him, he startles and scares you, me, and people around him," said Ahmed Hussein, his son-in-law.

Salmu is one of the thousands of freed inmates receiving treatment at the Syrian hospitals, including al-Mouwasat Hospital, after they endured the worst kinds of torture in Syrian prisons.

Alla Ramadan, another prisoner, has been missing for over 14 years. His mother has been looking everywhere for her son, but to no avail.

"I can't find him. He's been missing for 14 years. 14 years and no signs, he went and never came back," Ramadan's mother said in tears.

"He didn't participate in demonstrations, neither did he do something wrong. They took him, and I'm not sure if he's dead or alive. I'm still looking for him. May God punish the perpetrators," she added.

More than 100 freed prisoners are currently admitted to al-Mouwasat Hospital in Damascus, with the majority of them suffering from trauma, lost the ability to speak, and unable to recognize their loved ones.

"Frankly, their condition is extremely exhausting. But we like the fact that they feel secure and we are by their side. And we provide medicine based on the condition of the detainee," said Nadin Matni, Head of the ambulance team at Al Mouwasat Hospital.

According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, more than 136,614 people, including 3,698 children and 8,504 women, were detained in Syrian prisons during the Syrian civil war between March 2011 and December 2024.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights estimated in January 2021 that 30,000 detainees were brutally killed by the Assad regime in Sednaya from torture, ill-treatment, and mass executions since the outbreak of the Syrian civil war.

Notorious Syrian prison deeply traumatizes Kurdish man
[Rudaw] A Kurdish man was finally found in the infamous Sednaya prison near Damascus after disappearing from the border town of Suruc (Pirsus) in Turkey’s Sanliurfa province over five years ago.

Aydin Dagac disappeared in Suruc five years and six months ago. Until now, there had been no information about him, but he was found and freed by rebels led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) when they broke into prisons after ousting Bashar al-Assad.

The experience has left him severely traumatized. His mother, Nayide Dagac, describes him as someone with a mental illness. His time there left him suffering from PTSD and his mental illness has worsened.

At his family home, Dagac wanders as if he is still in prison, moving from one corner to another and unable to accept reality - that he is free.

Syria’s civil war dramatically reignited late last month when a coalition of rebels led by the jihadist Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched a blistering offensive against the Syrian army, seizing the northern cities of Aleppo, Hama, Homs, and culminating their victory by capturing the capital Damascus as Assad fled the country, ending over five decades of Baathist rule.

Celebrations across Syria, sparked by the fall of the regime, were abruptly halted as chilling stories about the inmates of the Sednaya prison in the Damascus suburbs began to emerge. These stories provide a disturbing look into how the Assad family brutally treated prisoners during their decades-long rule.

Sednaya has become a symbol of the regime's brutal repression, notorious for torture, sexual assault, and mass executions.

People from across Syria have traveled to Sednaya, hoping to find traces of loved ones arrested during anti-government protests throughout the 14-year Syrian civil war.

Man identifying himself as American Travis Timmerman found in Syria after being freed from prison
[CBSnews] A man identifying himself as an American from Missouri, Travis Timmerman, was found Thursday in Syria after he said he was freed from a prison earlier in the week, when longtime dictator Bashar al-Assad was forced from power by a shock rebel offensive.

Timmerman told CBS News senior foreign correspondent Elizabeth Palmer that he had been trying to make his own way out of the country after walking out of the prison where he'd been held for more than half of a year. He said he was detained upon entering Syria without permission seven months ago after spending a month in neighboring Lebanon.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking to reporters in Aqaba, Jordan, briefly addressed the discovery of Timmerman.

"In terms of an American citizen who was found just today, I can't give you any details on exactly what's going to happen except to say that we're working to bring them home, to bring them out of Syria and to bring them home," Blinken said. "But for privacy reasons, I can't share any more detail than that at this point."

A U.S. official previously told CBS News the government was aware of the reports that an American had been found outside Damascus and that it was seeking to provide support, but the official declined to provide any further detail out of respect for his privacy.

Timmerman said two men armed with AK-47s broke his prison door down Monday with a hammer.

"My door was busted down, it woke me up," Timmerman said. "I thought the guards were still there, so I thought the warfare could have been more active than it ended up being… Once we got out, there was no resistance, there was no real fighting."

Timmerman said he had gone to Syria for Christian "spiritual purposes" and that his experience in prison "wasn't too bad."

"I was never beaten. The only really bad part was that I couldn't go to the bathroom when I wanted to. I was only let out three times a day to go to the bathroom," he said.

Timmerman said he left the prison with a large group and started walking away. He said he had been trying to head toward Jordan.

He said he "had a few moments of fear," when he left the prison, and hadn't really processed that he was free.

"I still haven't really thought about that. I've been more worried about finding a place to sleep each night since then," he told CBS News. "So I've been working, really."

Timmerman said he hadn't been afraid to approach people to ask for help or a place to sleep at night on his journey.

"They were coming to me, mostly," Timmerman said, adding that he'd spoken with his family three weeks ago, through a phone that he had while in prison. He said he had been allowed to use it.

"I'm feeling well. I've been fed and I've been watered, so I'm feeling well," Timmerman said.

Timmerman was named as "Travis Pete Timmerman" on a missing person's bulletin published by Hungarian police in August, which said he had been last seen at a church in the country.

A missing person's bulletin published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol said that Timmerman, whose first name was listed as Pete, had been last seen in Budapest. The bulletin said the date of his last contact had been June 2, 2024, and that he was 29 years old when he went missing.

Too Much Eggnog? Kamala Harris Looks Sloshed at Christmas Party in DC (VIDEO)
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Kamala Harris
who got her start in politix between former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's' knees
looked inebriated again during a Christmas party at her residence at the Naval Observatory on Wednesday evening.

''I give you permission that if you are going to someone's house who doesn't know how to cook, bring your own dish!'' Harris said cackling.

Kamala Harris went on a holiday party speaking circuit over the last week and she sure was looking and sounding rough.

Harris slurred her words as she encouraged a room full of Democrat activists and influencers to keep fighting last week.

Harris partied last weekend at her residence at the Naval Observatory.

''Our work continues and so please everyone, look I know this election was not what we intended, certainly not what we wanted. I know there's a lot of emotion that we are all feeling right now. I get it,'' Harris said cackling.

''Please I have to just, I have to insist, that please do not let your spirit or your purpose be defeated,'' Harris added. ''Try and get some good food on the table, you know and you go to other peoples' house—'' Harris said.

''You answered a calling to serve in so many ways, so in this season it is very important to make first room for you, for us that we celebrate each other, that we celebrate our work that has had and will continue to have meaning, ours has been the work that is intentional about building community, ours has been the work that has been intentional about building coalitions,'' she said.

#5  Thought experiment/curmudgeon conspiracy theory musings:

Crescendo of large scale "drone" events on the Eastern seaboard approaching Christmas inducing panic, the end of the rudder-less and sclerotic Biden Administration with attendant absences and staff departures/vacancies, massive Chinese illegal immigration surges in the past year, particularly of military-aged young men, and just developing, an epic surge in Chinese military exercises near Taiwan. One could see the targeted assemblage of domestic interdiction and key infrastructure nodes being readied as a move on Taiwan is initiated, with simultaneous US sabotage/disruption/blackouts/civil unrest actions which freeze the government into domestic responses, OCONUS hesitation and undermine any sustained military support ops as Taiwan is invaded.

Or it could just be crackpot inferences and assumptions from the cheap seats while the professionals in DC have everything under control!

#6  CIA has a long-standing strategy of seeding the media with UFO stories when they want to change the subject from something shameful they've done that has come out.

It's a way of managing the media narrative away from news damaging to them.

So what has the Deep State done that is shameful that is now coming out?

Well.... Ukraine losing to russia,
or Trump winning the election and his appointments which will expose their Russia lies

witness the frantic efforts by Joe Biden to pardon his son and fauci

#5  They picked a number that they knew Kash would find. Certainly, they are destroying evidence of the true number. Beyond those receiving Fed money you will find auxiliaries like Ray Epps who were being paid by NGOs of some sort. Too many people under oath have said that Ray was not taking Fed money. None of them have said that Ray was not being paid. There was a large number of Dem operatives likely being controlled by whoever buses rally participants in. The Pelosi family seemed to know exactly what was going to happen on J6. I would look at the daughter’s comms, if I was doing an investigation.

Israeli strikes target former regime military supplies in Latakia, Tartous: Monitor
[Rudaw] The Israeli military on Thursday launched its latest round of strikes against military warehouses belonging to the former Syrian regime in Latakia and Tartous provinces, a war monitor reported, as part of its ongoing plan to prevent rebels from seizing them.

"Israeli warplanes launched Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s targeting the port of Latakia, Dahr al-Zuba in Baniyas, and military warehouses of the former regime in Dahr Safra in Tartous countryside, which caused missiles to explode at the site and launch randomly," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based war monitor.

Israel has carried out over 350 airstrikes on military sites of the former government of Bashir al-Assad since his ousting on December 8, according to the Observatory. The strikes are an attempt to destroy Syria’s military stockpiles. It has also sent troops marching across the border into a buffer zone east of the annexed Golan Heights, a move condemned by Arab countries and the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
On Tuesday, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said that two Syrian navy facilities, dozens of sea-to-sea missiles, anti-aircraft batteries, airfields, dozens of weapons production sites across several provinces, and an entire arsenal of missiles, drones, fighter jets, tanks, and helicopters were destroyed in the air raids.

"Israeli warplanes continue to destroy what remains of Syria’s military arsenal," the Observatory said.

As Assad’s regime fell, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a "historic day for the Middle East."

"The collapse of the Assad regime, the tyranny in Damascus, offers great opportunity but is also fraught with significant dangers," Netanyahu said on X.

UK high school encourages students to join ‘collective fast’ to raise money for Gaza
[IsraelTimes] A UK high school is encouraging students to join a “collective fast” this coming Friday to raise money for Gaza amid Israel’s war with the Hamas terror group.

George Green’s School, located in London’s Tower Hamlets, has held a series of fundraiser events in recent weeks for UNICEF’s Gaza Appeal for Children in Crisis, and after raising more than £1,000 (roughly $1,270) across two bake sales and two sports tournaments, the school is now encouraging students to join a “Collective Fast Event” this coming Friday.

“On 13th December, both staff and students will come together in a collective fast, demonstrating our solidarity and raising awareness,” the school states on a fundraising page for the event. “Through this initiative, we aim to gather much-needed funds to provide food, medical aid, and other critical resources. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference.”

The UK’s Jewish Chronicle newspaper says that it obtained a copy of the letter sent to parents in an effort to encourage their children to sign up for the event.

“We are asking students to sign up for the fast and raise sponsorship,” the letter states. “We are already halfway to our target of £2500 but need your support.”

Speaking to the news outlet, a parent of a Jewish student at George Green’s School says that the event, and a previous one like it last December, instills a feeling of “shame” in her child and other Jewish students.

“The school has decided who is good and who is bad. Judaism has been portrayed as bad,” she tells the Jewish Chronicle. “No one is going to go out and announce [they are Jewish] at that school.”

In response, the school’s principal Jon Ryder tells the Jewish Chronicle that the event is “entirely voluntary,” but that it is “well-supported by members of the school community, including students, parents and staff.”

Terrorists liberate terrorists from other terrorists
Writer Daniel Greenfield has a wickedly sly sense of humour.
[IsraelNationalNews] In a stunning win for freedom, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a Sunni terrorist organization defeated the Assad regime and its Shiite terrorist groups to take over Syria. HTS is led by Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani, a Saudi former associate of the caliph of ISIS who has a $10 million reward on his head from the U.S. while Assad was supported by Hezbollah, whose leaders had multi-million dollar rewards on their heads until Israel killed them (but didn’t collect the money.)

Assad was backed by the Shiite terror state of Iran while HTS is backed by the Sunni terror state of Turkey. Geopolitical experts say that Sunni Islamists defeating Shiite Islamists to rule the pile of rubble that’s left of Syria is the biggest win for human freedom since the Muslim Brotherhood took over Egypt and parts of North Africa (before being ousted from Egypt and some other parts of the region) in the freedom phenomenon known as the Arab Spring.

The media broadcast scenes of Jihadists praising Allah for helping them defeat the other Jihadists who also praise Allah (but not in the right way)
*Snicker*
and liberating political prisoners to shortly replace them with other political prisoners (assuming that they even bother taking political prisoners or any kind of prisoners.) Talks are underway between the terrorists of the former regime with the terrorists of the current regime to see if they can work it out.

And maybe just focus on killing Christians, Jews and other infidels.

Some might suspect that a former ISIS associate tied to Al Qaeda (who admittedly turned on his former group to lead another Jihadist organization) taking over a country would be bad news. But they’re clearly bad people who don’t realize that Al-Jawlani is a changed man, an austere religious scholar
…oh dear. That’s never good…
who underwent a makeover courtesy of Queer Eye for the Syrian Guy and now, in the words of the BBC, wears a "more western style wardrobe". At least if you count rocking Zelensky’s military fatigue hand-me-downs as looking like a regular western warlord.

The Biden administration has already made contact with the terrorist organization led by a man on whose head is a $10 million reward to offer to rebuild Syria just in time for the next civil war. Publicly, the administration has already taken credit for helping defeat Assad by insisting that the Israelis must stop attacking Hezbollah at once. Had the Israelis listened, Assad would still be in power. But the Biden administration was surely using reverse psychology and by threatening Israel with an arms embargo was really getting the Israelis to fight even harder.

Or at least that’s the story that National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is going with.

While the world (or at least the parts of it that completely forgot about the Arab Spring) rejoices, the Israeli government which (for all its failings) has more sense than the State Department or a headless chicken, has begun bombing what’s left of Syria’s rocket factories and chemical warfare plants that Secretary of State John Kerry (despite promising Obama) somehow never got around to making sure that Vladimir Putin would dismantle and put away in cold storage.

The Israelis are also expanding their presence in Mt. Hermon and building their own security zone because they trust Syria’s new terrorist masters as much as they trusted the old.

What Jerusalem knows and Foggy Bottom has yet to learn is that the Middle East is a bunch of tribal factions, warlords and gangs pretending to be countries, but despite the flags, anthems, UN memberships, World Bank positions and invites to climate change summits, are all some version of Al-Jawlani bouncing between ISIS, Al Qaeda and a new governing coalition.

Over a thousand years of Islam comes down to some guy with a beard uniting a few key families with whose backing he then seizes a bunch of cities that used to belong to long lost great civilizations, and then his men settle down to some murdering, looting and raping while thanking Allah for the privilege of a mission to kill, loot and rape the world. Or die trying.

The stationary bandit theory isn’t some abstraction in the Middle East: it’s everyday reality.

As we all should have learned in the last generation, every Arab Muslim country is one inflationary spiral away from some guy with a ’nom de guerre’ or ’kunya’ riding into town on a pickup truck with 300 fellow bandits and becoming the new government in Allah’s name.

Georgetown idiots with PhDs then cheer as statues of the old dictator are toppled as if Damascus, Cairo, Baghdad, Tripoli or Tunis were Prague, Berlin or any city where democracy means more than ’my tribe has more guns than your tribe’. The old Pharaohs (not to mention Caesars) would tear down each other’s monuments too. That didn’t make old Tutankhamen a liberator or a democrat. At least not the kind who is acceptable outside Chicago.

Assad heading off to shop at Moscow’s GUM for more luxury handbags is no great loss and his replacement by other terrorists is no great gain. At least not for us. Or likely for Syria’s Christians. Or Israel. Or really anyone else except members of the new regime.

#1  They will strike in the US soon. Trump will then release the Kraken on them again. Biden like Obama was infiltrated by Iranian interests. This undercut the effectiveness of our response to Iranian and ISIS provocations. If the special forces is utilized correctly without being tethered to some globalist nation building baloney, there will be no terrorist threat in the MiddleEast in short order.

Trump on peace talks with Putin
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] "I can't say whether I called Vladimir Putin after I was elected. It's just inappropriate. The reason I don't want to discuss it is because as a negotiator, I first come up with a very good plan to help. But when I start laying out that plan, it often turns out to be almost useless.

The war in Ukraine would never have happened if I had been President. It would never have happened. I had a meeting recently with a group of government officials. They came and briefed me, and I'm not exaggerating, that the number of soldiers who have died in the last month is staggering - both Russians and Ukrainians. The numbers are about equal. You know, I know a lot of people say the opposite, but they are about equal. The number of dead young soldiers lying in fields all over the country is staggering. It's crazy what's happening.

It's crazy. I strongly disagree with launching missiles hundreds of miles into Russia. Why are we doing that? We're only fueling this war and we are making it worse. This should not have happened. Now they are producing not only missiles but other types of weapons. I think this is a very big mistake. But the level of death is unacceptable, and I am talking about both sides. It is better for both sides if this stops.

I want to come to an agreement, and the only way to do that is to not give in. You know what I mean, right? In my opinion, you cannot reach an agreement if you go back on your word. And I disagree with all this because it should never have happened. Putin would never have invaded Ukraine if I were President, for many reasons.

First of all, they raised the price of oil. When the price of oil went up, it was profitable for him, and the price of oil had to go down. If the price had gone down, the war would not have started, at least for economic reasons. But when the price reaches 80, 85, 90 dollars a barrel... I mean, he made money, he made a lot of money. I'm not saying it's good because he suffered too, but they keep moving forward. You know, this is war, this is tragedy. This is death, which is much worse than anyone can imagine. When the real numbers come out, you won't believe your eyes."

(c) Agent Donald.

Don't have any illusions about peace talks with Trump.
Two leaders who put their own country first. It should be clarifying.

Retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and ethnic cleansing
Text taken from a news article which appeared in southfront.press.

Commentary by Russian military journalist is in italics.

Ethic Cleansing: Ukrainian Army resorts to 'scorched earth' tactics in Retreat

Over the past few months, in addition to news about the advance of Russian troops and the consistent retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from a number of populated areas, there have been reports of brutal reprisals against civilians by Ukrainian soldiers and officers.

It is difficult to accept such information at face value, which resembles military propaganda from one of the parties (in this case, Russia). Unfortunately, many facts are confirmed by eyewitness accounts, photo and video surveillance data. There is a cruel but iron logic to the reprisals. The Ukrainian Armed Forces intend to give the Russians a "scorched earth" on which no one should live. And if anyone remains there, old people, women, children - it does not matter, then they are automatically classified as spies and provocateurs, who are only subject to execution.

Ukrainian officials indignantly report that the population that left the territories now under Russian control is returning home. The first to announce this on October 23 was ombudsman Dmytro Shulyak, who complained about the socio-economic difficulties that refugees face. The chairperson of the ruling party "Servant of the People", Olena Shulyak confirmed the information from her namesake, adding that Russia makes large payments to victims for destroyed property. A person who left Mariupol or Volnovakha and returned to the ruins has the right to receive a subsidy of 45 thousand rubles (406 euros) per square meter. Thus, for an apartment of 60 square meters, the Russian government will pay 2 million 700 thousand rubles (more than 24 thousand euros), which is a significant amount for people who have lost their homes.

According to the former mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko, about a third of the refugees have already returned to the city. The Ukrainian government was unable to provide them with housing, and Russia restored the destroyed areas in a short time. Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy, Maksym Tkachenko said that 150,000 people have returned to the "occupied" lands, 70,000 of whom have returned to Mariupol. These reports have caused a storm of criticism and indignation from the top Ukrainian leadership. Tkachenko was pressured, and he took his words back. Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk said: the return of refugees to their homes, to the "Russian-occupied" territories "is not and cannot be." However, these words sound like empty justifications [for the sad results of Ukraine's short-sighted policy].

Another problem for Kiev is the passive waiting of the civilian population for the arrival of Russian troops. Former member of parliament and member of the ultra-nationalist battalion "Azov" Igor Mosiychuk told journalists that many Ukrainian citizens are rushing to register their permanent residence in such frontline towns as Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) and Chasov Yar. The calculation is clear: with a high degree of probability, these settlements will be occupied by the Russian army, and those who had Ukrainian registration there will receive the right to Russian citizenship and compensation for lost housing. For the Ukrainian leadership, such actions are akin to high treason.

This is most likely what is behind the brutal purges in the frontline zones carried out by Ukrainian troops and Western mercenaries. During the retreat from Selidovo (Donetsk People's Republic), Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters deliberately killed civilians who refused to be evacuated to the rear. According to the testimonies of the townspeople, the reprisals were carried out against entire families. RIA Novosti military correspondents filmed a man who miraculously escaped being a victim of the purge. His family members were killed by the Ukrainian military: “I don’t know how my legs carried me out. And when I came back, I saw that they [the relatives] had already been burned. Completely.”

Video:
Video

Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rodion Miroshnik promised to thoroughly investigate these crimes and announced the first results of the investigative actions. To date, 15 people have already spoken about the reprisals in the town of Selidovo - all the witnesses are residents of this settlement. The townspeople named the specific streets where the crimes were committed, as well as the names of the people killed. The circumstances of the death of 50 civilians are known. Moreover, not only the Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters took part in the cleansing, but also foreign mercenaries. Residents of Selidovo heard Polish speech and saw people in Ukrainian uniform, but without identification marks. It has also been proven that French mercenaries also took part in the shooting of civilians.

Video

The International Public Tribunal for Ukraine (created in March 2022, investigates the crimes of Ukrainian neo-Nazis and their accomplices; consists of representatives of civil society from more than 20 countries) provides horrific details of what happened. Selidovo resident Volodymyr Romanenko told representatives of this public organization the following:

“On October 24 this year, my family was shot by Ukrainian soldiers right next to our house. At 7 a.m., I went out into the garden and heard shouts: “Everyone get out of the house!” A man in Ukrainian camouflage was shouting, and there was another one standing a little further away. They took my wife, grandson, son, daughter-in-law, and her mother out of the house and put them facing the wall. My daughter-in-law was crying, “What are you doing?” The Ukrainian soldier just started shooting. First, he killed my wife, then the rest. I ran through the garden and hid. A few days later, I returned to the house. At the place where they were shot, I found remains - burnt bodies, bone fragments, and personal belongings. I collected everything I could into five bags and buried them near the entrance. This is all that is left of my family.”

Video

Another testimony was provided by Natalia Ravinskaya, a resident of Selidovo:

“In Selidovo, in house No. 12 on Shchorsa Street, a Ukrainian sniper or mercenary opened fire on civilians. Many of our friends died in the yard. People tried to come out of hiding to cover the bodies of the dead, and they themselves became victims. The sniper in house No. 12 killed about 20 people. In our yard, we counted at least 8 dead. In house No. 19 on the same street, Ukrainian soldiers broke into apartments and shot civilians. We heard Georgian speech: they shouted, offered help, but in fact they killed.

On Kuchurinskaya Street, Ukrainian soldiers entered the house, took the whole family outside and lined them up against the wall. They shot everyone on the spot. Grandfather survived. He hid for several days and then returned to bury his loved ones. The bodies were burned. He collected the remains, put them in bags, wrote down the names and buried them all in one grave. And there are many like that. You go into the yard, there is a grave, there is a grave. A Ukrainian soldier shot an elderly woman in the street: he simply turned around, shot her in the head and left. Ukraine has always disliked Donbass. We have always been outcasts for them, and since 2014 this hatred has only intensified."

Video

Ukrainian soldiers and mercenaries are especially cruel in the Kursk region, where they a priori place "collective guilt" on the entire civilian population. Radio intercepts carried out by the Russian side indicate mass executions of civilians in the area of the border settlement of Plekhovo. Intercepted conversations between the command and servicemen of the 253rd separate assault battalion of the 129th territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have leaked online, where an order is directly given to shoot 34 civilians, including the elderly.

Video

Earlier, Russian journalists published horrific testimonies of people who managed to escape from the territories occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Slavik Aloyan, a resident of the village of Blagovatnoye (Kursk region) says: “The Ukrainian Armed Forces are shooting everyone. I don’t know why. They are shooting everyone. Civilians are dying. That day, many civilians were shot both in the village and in Korenevo. Andrey was in the hospital with me. He was evacuating civilians. He saw how people were shot. He miraculously survived, the sabotage and reconnaissance group was also shooting at him, at civilians. The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot many civilians on the bridge that day.”

Unfortunately, there are many such stories. The International Public Tribunal for Ukraine has already published dozens of testimonies of ordinary people – pensioners, adults, teenagers. The mournful list of atrocities committed by the Ukrainian military and foreign mercenaries not only highlights the cynicism of the military aid provided to Kiev by the United States and the European Union, but also demonstrates that the “truce” dreamed of by some Western politicians is impossible. As the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin emphasized, Russia is against “freezing” the conflict. Signing a peace treaty following the war is clearly impossible without a trial of those who committed crimes against civilians - this is Moscow's firm position.

Plus a summary of material for 2022-2024 from Maksym Grigoriev, who has been actively researching and documenting the topic of war crimes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Ukrainian structures since 2014. You can download it here There are also many testimonies of direct witnesses of war crimes, as well as prisoners, on the channel.

Multiple Hamas supporting NYU professors are being arrested after physically taking over and shutting down the library during finals

Anti-Israel protesters rally outside NYU library on last day of class

[IsraelTimes] Demonstrators demand the university shut down its Tel Aviv campus, call for an intifada, as students study for finals

Several dozen anti-Israel protesters rallied outside New York University’s main library on Thursday, snarling students’ study plans on the last day of class for the fall semester.

The protesters chanted "intifada revolution" and "Tel Aviv is stolen land" while beating a wooden spoon on a metal bowl. Many were covering their faces with keffiyehs.

"While you’re learning, Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
’s burning," they chanted. One protester held a sign that said, "Shut down NYU Tel Aviv."

"We gain strength from our deaders," a speaker told the crowd.

The campus tightened security at the library, restricting access to a single door. Around a dozen campus security officers manned a barricade at the building entrance and checked student IDs for those entering. A line of students stretched down the block huddled against the winter cold. The protest took place on the sidewalk, on public property.

An NYU spokesperson said the protesters had tried to block all entryways into the building, ignoring directions from campus safety officers. Entry to the library was temporarily halted, but was later restored, the spokesperson said.

The university said police made eight arrests. Two protesters were visible in a police van next to the protest. Other demonstrators cursed at officers and called them "pigs" as a police drone buzzed overhead.

NYU spokesperson John Beckman said the university "rejects any claims that this is peaceful protest."

"The people involved were intentionally targeting members of our community," Beckman said, adding that their "harassing behavior" disrupted studies at a critical time in the semester as final exams began and ignored the rights of students.

The protesters demanded that the university disclose and divest holdings in "companies aiding the Israeli occupation of Paleostine." They targeted the university’s president, Linda Mills, chanting, "Linda Mills, you can’t hide, you’re supporting genocide." A masked demonstrator handed out fliers that demanded the university "DIVEST from the settler state of ’Israel'" and close its campus in Tel Aviv.

Students outside the library said protesters had staged a demonstration inside the building on Wednesday night, disrupting studies ahead of final exams. NYU’s branch of Students for Justice in Paleostine said on Instagram it had staged a "sit in" at the library to demand divestment from "war profiteering."

NYU saw raucous anti-Israel protests last year, but the campus has been relatively quiet in the fall semester.

The Forward, which writes from the Manhattan socialist Jewish perspective familiar to lovers of Woody Allen films, pulls back the lens:
YU hoops game closed to general public after NYU protest

Thursday was the last day of finals at New York University, and the evening promised students following the undefeated NYU basketball team — ranked seventh in the country — an intriguing matchup with Yeshiva University, which had already defeated one opponent ranked in Division III’s Top 25 this season.

But after a pro-Palestinian student protest resulted in several arrests just a few blocks away from the campus athletic center, the game was closed to the general public. Instead, only people added to a guest list by each team were allowed to attend.

MacsLive, which broadcasts Yeshiva University men’s basketball games, announced the decision but did not say who was behind it or state their rationale.

The dozen or so students, faculty and other New Yorkers who handcuffed themselves together in a blockade of the entrance to Bobst Library — the school’s 12-story main library — were protesting to demand NYU disclose its financial holdings in “the industries that massacre people globally” and divest from companies “aiding the Israeli occupation of Palestine,” according to a statement from the group.

NYPD arrested eight protesters, NYU wrote in a statement. Two of the arrests were of NYU faculty members, according to the Washington Square News, NYU’s student newspaper. It identified one of them as Andrew Ross, a professor in the school’s College of Arts and Sciences.

According to NYU Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine, three faculty members at the protest were subsequently barred from campus by Georgina Dopico, the school’s provost. The group said all three faculty were Jewish. (Dopico did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)

The group’s statement did not mention Yeshiva University or the basketball game. But there were reasons to suspect the protest might have spilled over into the John A. Paulson Center, the arena just a few minutes’ walk away from the library.

Yeshiva University, an Orthodox Jewish university in Washington Heights, is one of the most prominent Zionist institutions in New York. The school has a campus in Jerusalem, and its president, Rabbi Ari Berman, has posed for photos with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since the war began.

Nicknamed the Macs, the basketball team, whose perennial on-court success has made it a point of pride at the institution, is a hallmark of the school’s connection to Israel. The team fields Israeli players, it plays the Israeli national anthem before home games and some of its players have gone on to play in Israel after graduating. Its head coach, Elliot Steinmetz, has offered trenchant pro-Israel commentary on social media throughout the war.

Steinmetz said in a text message Thursday that limiting attendance was a “security decision.”

“It’s sad to see such uneducated people in an institution of higher education,” Steinmetz added. “Especially knowing there are faculty members involved that [are] unfortunately shaping future generations based on hate fueled propaganda. But that’s the world we live in right now. We lack educators and leaders in important places.”

NYU Athletics and the John A. Paulson Center did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Gen. Michael Kurilla traveled to Beirut, Lebanon and met with Gen. Joseph Aoun, Commander of the Lebanon Armed Forces
[PUBLISH.TWITTER] It’ll be interesting to see what, if anything of all this frantic effort, will be confirmed by President Trump after he is formally sworn into office — and everyone knows it.

… for the cessation of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon. The leaders discussed ongoing efforts to advance a lasting cessation of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon via the mechanism, which is chaired by the U.S. and assisted by France, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and the Israel Defense Forces.

Gen. Kurilla was present at the implementation and monitoring headquarters today during the ongoing first Israeli Defense Forces withdrawal and Lebanese Armed Forces replacement in Al Khiam, Lebanon as part of the agreement. “This is an important first step in the implementation of a lasting cessation of hostilities and lays the foundationfor continued progress,” said Gen. Kurilla.

Gen. Kurilla and Gen. Aoun also discussed the ongoing, evolving security situation in Syria, the impact it has on stability in the region, and ways to increase the military to military partnership between the LAF and CENTCOM.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Briana Boston, a 42-year-old mother of three, was arrested for making threats to BlueCross BlueShield over a rejected medical claim
[X] This is why we don’t post things that could be interpreted as threats. Who now will care for her children?

… who is now facing up to 15 years in prison, allegedly quoted Mangione, saying, "Delay, Deny, Depose. You people are next."

This was a similar message that Mangione left on his bullet casings.

The woman told investigators that "healthcare companies played games and deserved karma from the world because they are evil," adding that she was inspired by the recent news cycle.

Boston was charged with threats to conduct a mass sh**ting or act of terrorism.

Her bond was set at $100,000. She faces up to 15 years behind bars.

OK, threatening or worse anyone, is illegal and immoral.
I am sure, many others have felt utter life consuming frustration trying to hold them to their carefully worded and semi-promised coverages.

The Healthcare & Medical Industrial Complex needs to be held to a Patient Bill Of Rights standard. Patient Rights that prohibit their many haphazard, randomly approved/disapproved claims and randomly adjusted amounts paid.

Rights that are clearly written in plainly written/spoken English. Rights that hold their butts to directly answering and/or rewarding the customer, not the Federal Gov.

#3  Its a sign of the promised government oversight failure. The olde vigilantism follows failed law enforcement.

Like I shared, person who has paid in all their life needs medicine, gets it and is covered, then gets a letter saying, nah no more but here is this cheaper, ineffective, and literally mortally allergenic medicine which we will. Thoroughly reviewed, they said. We can't drop you so fuck off and die, they said.

Hold this woman and Luigi accountable to the fullest extent of the law, but let’s get the corporate gravy train that is Obamacare back on the docket for demolition. Obamacare created United.
