Turkey Halts All Stock Trading As Currency Disintegrates, Central Bank Powerless To Halt Collapse
[ZH] Another day, another collapse in the Turkish lira, only this time there was a twist: as the hyperinflating currency implodes, Erdogan has finally had enough of the relentless pummeling, and is starting to shut down Turkey's markets.

But first, let's back up: heading into Friday, the lira accelerated its historic descent, weakening past the 16 per-dollar mark for the first time ever, as the central bank's pledge to end a four-month cycle of interest rate cuts on Thursday failed to convince investors that inflation can be brought to heel. That was just the start however, and the currency plunge only accelerated crashing as low as 17.14 just hours later, bringing declines this week to 17%. YTD the currency has lost more than half of its value!

As a reminder, the central bank yesterday cut its benchmark one-week repo rate by a further 100 basis points to 14%, its fourth reduction since September spurred by demands from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to lower borrowing costs in the face of surging consumer prices as part of his batshit insane monetary policy Erdoganomics whose only possible outcome is the collapse of Turkey's economy and hyperinflation. The resulting sell-off accelerated a 54% plunge in the currency so far this year as real rates fall further below zero with inflation now standing at an annual 21.3%.

Erdogan then responded to the economic pain caused by rising prices by ordering a 50% increase in the minimum wage next year, guaranteeing even more inflation as it will increase production costs that will see inflation accelerate by a further 2% to 8% next year, Erkin Isik, chief economist at QNB Finansbank, wrote in a note to clients.

In any case, once the lira plunged to 17, the central bank spent another billion or so intervening, its 5th intervention just in December. Needless to say, this intervention like all those preceding it, had a half-life of just a few minutes, and shortly after the USDTRY was trading back at just shy of all time highs.

And then, a stunning new development: as Bloomberg reports, all trades on Turkey’s benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul 100 were halted after a sudden plunge in stocks - which until now were trading gingerly higher as one would expect in a time of runaway inflation - triggering a market-wide circuit breaker.

Trading of equities, equity derivatives and debt repo transactions were "halted temporarily" at 4:24 p.m. in Istanbul after the index reversed gains and fell as much as 5%, according to a public filing. Trading was scheduled to restart at 4:54 p.m, however we are confident it will only lead to more selling.

And this is what the realization that hyperinflation has arrived and may not be good for stocks looks like:

Of course, such attempts to halt a panic only make it worse, and sure enough, the furious selling only accelerate after the reopen, leading to another halt...

... and headlines such as these:

HSBC MSCI TURKEY UCITS ETF SINKS TO RECORD LOW

TURKISH STOCK INDEX CRASHES 9%, MOST SINCE MARCH

The bottom line, as Delphine Arrighi from Guardcap Asset Management, said "Turkey has entered some uncharted territories here by responding to rampant inflation with rate cuts. As long as real rates remain negative, dollarization will continue to add pressure on the currency."

For what it's worth, our view is clear and what is happening is very much charted: it is our view that Erdogan is purposefully hoping to spark economic collapse and hyperinflation...

Is Erdogan trying to singlehandedly destroy the Turkish economy to deflect attention from the billions he has pillaged
— zerohedge (@zerohedge) December 16, 2021

... to deflect from the historic pillaging he and his cronies have done over the years. And the only way to do that is with a broad economic collapse that he can pin on "foreign intervention" and in the ensuing chaos, quietly sneak out of the country. A few coup or two should help.

J&J Vax Get the Jab from CDC
[ET] A panel of advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) unanimously voted on Thursday to recommend the agency tell the public that the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are preferred to the jab from Johnson & Johnson (J&J).

Hours after the vote by the advisory panel, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky endorsed the recommendation.
A conclusion, one supposes, of the Phase 3 part of the study in which we are supposed to participate.
The panel voted after hearing presentations on a serious combination of blood clotting and low blood platelet levels that has been seen at higher than background rates in people who have gotten the J&J vaccine.

The link prompted a near-nationwide pause in administration of the vaccine in April but health agencies lifted the pause after determining the benefits of the shot outweighed its risks.
How's that April decision looking now, CDC?

Here we go in a flung festoon,
Half-way up to the jealous moon!
Don't you envy our pranceful bands?
Don't you wish you had extra hands?
Would n't you like if your tails were -- so --
Curved in the shape of a Cupid's bow?
Now you're angry, but -- never mind,
Brother, thy tail hangs down behind!

Here we sit in a branchy row,
Thinking of beautiful things we know;
Dreaming of deeds that we mean to do,
All complete, in a minute or two --
Something noble and grand and good,
Won by merely wishing we could.
Now we're going to -- never mind,
Brother, thy tail hangs down behind!

All the talk we ever have heard
Uttered by bat or beast or bird --
Hide or fin or scale or feather --
Jabber it quickly and all together!
Excellent! Wonderful! Once again!
Now we are talking just like men.
Let 's pretend we are... never mind,
Brother, thy tail hangs down behind!
This is the way of the Monkey-kind.

'Significant amounts of water' found in Mars' massive version of the Grand Canyon
[CNN] Mars has its own version of the Grand Canyon, and scientists have learned this dramatic feature is home to "significant amounts of water" after a discovery made by an orbiter circling the red planet, according to the European Space Agency.

The ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter, launched in 2016 as a joint mission between the European Space Agency and Roscosmos, detected the water in Valles Marineris on Mars. This canyon system is 10 times longer, five times deeper and 20 times wider than the Grand Canyon.

The water is located beneath the surface of the canyon system and was detected by the orbiter's FREND instrument, or Fine Resolution Epithermal Neutron Detector. This instrument is able to map hydrogen in the top meter (3.28 feet) of Martian soil.

Most water on Mars is located in the planet's polar regions and remains frozen as water ice. Valles Marineris is just south of the planet's equator, where temperatures typically aren't cold enough for water ice to remain.

Ireland Launches 1st Ever Mission to Mars

In its first ever space mission, Ireland reaches for Mars, to use the newly found abundant water supply for agricultural purposes, that is to raise barley, malt, and hops. This is all in an effort to bring Beer and Whiskey to new reaches of our solar system and ultimately to the far reaches of the Universe.
Irish whiskey (Irish: Fuisce or uisce beatha) is whiskey made on the island of Ireland. The word 'whiskey' (or whisky) comes from the Irish uisce beatha, meaning water of life. Mars is after all named for Roman god of war and agriculture. The Irish are well known for their Red Beer as well.
Off to Mars it is, the Red Planet, don't forget the Irish Yeast Killian, or it'll be off with Yeast head.

KKK Disbands As Progressive Left Accomplishing All Their Goals
(Bzzzz) HARRISON, AR—It was a somber day for white-hooded members of the Ku Klux Klan as they received news that their organization was disbanding, since the progressive Left was accomplishing all of their goals with unparalleled effectiveness.

"Welp, I guess it’s both good news and bad news," said current CEO of the KKK, Bob U. Genics while overseeing Klan members turning in their robes and pointed hats. "Them Lefties cornered the racism market for sure, and look at how they undermined minority communities through low school standards, drug legalization, and rampant decriminalization. Impressive."

The head of the now-dissolved KKK reassured the gloomy crowd, reminding them that it was an honor to pass the baton of hate and division to people with their tentacles deeply woven into American politics, education, business, and entertainment.

"Racism is in good hands," he said, misty-eyed.

Following the disbandment meeting, the former members excitedly showed their support for the new face of racism and hate by donating to Ilhan Omar's campaign.

China Mocks NFL for Kowtowing When Chinese People Don't Even Like Football
[Breitbart] Falsely labeling the country of Taiwan as part of China will do little to improve the National Football League’s (NFL) financial prospects in the communist country, state propaganda newspaper Global Times declared on Friday.

The Times was responding to a controversy erupting this week when the NFL announced a series of international partnerships meant to promote the popularity of American football. While football remains America’s most popular sport at home, it has made no significant progress in constructing a global fanbase and, to that end, the NFL announced it had designated special markets for its teams to generate energy behind them.

In the announcement, the NFL published a map showing that it assigned the Los Angeles Rams the entire nation of China as its "international home marketing area." The map of China, highlighted in red to show it is part of the program, incorrectly including the island of Taiwan. The inclusion was particularly egregious in light of exclusions of legitimate offshore territories of other countries, most prominently Spain.

Louisiana Judge Placed On Leave For Using N-Word On Video After Black Suspect Burglarized Her Car
[National File] Lafayette City Court Judge Michelle Odinet has been placed on unpaid leave after uttering a racial slur in a viral video. Odinet used the "n-word" after a black suspect attempted to rob her family.

The video shows Odinet and members of her family watching a security video of the moment two of them wrestled 59-year-old Robert Handy to the ground in their driveway after he allegedly tried to break into one of their cars early Saturday.

"When the suspect observed the victim arrive, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly caught by the victim. Victim held the suspect down until officers arrived," reads a police report on the attempted break-in.

Odinet released a statement saying she was on sedatives while the slur was uttered in a video recorded after the incident. She also said that she was shaken from the robbery attempt and issued an apology.

McDonald's to use packaging to promote COVID-19 vaccines
[Today] McDonald's will soon be serving its customers a friendly reminder to get their COVID-19 vaccine. The fast food chain has partnered with the Biden administration on its "We Can Do This" campaign to help share vaccine information with its customers across the country and the restaurant plans to spread the word in multiple ways over the coming months.

As part of the campaign, McDonald's will debut COVID-19 vaccine information from trusted third parties on its Times Square billboard later this month. The billboard is located right above one of the iconic McDonald's restaurants in the country, so the company is hoping to get a lot of eyeballs on it.

As noted by Stacey Matthews on Legal Insurrection, Realtor.com and redfin.com decided on the same day that providing crime information on neighborhoods would promote racial bias. Helping families avoid moving to a house or condo in a dangerous crime-ridden neighborhood is far less important to them than virtue signaling their trendy "anti-racism."
Decorative exterior window trim can oftentimes provide a key.
Apparently they both nave forgotten the ancient maxim "caveat emptor" — "let the buyer beware." I am not certain how to render "Let the buyer be anti-racist" in Latin, but that is the replacement philosophy for these real estate marketing geniuses.

For connoisseurs of PC doubletalk, the statements issued by Realtor.com CEO David Doctorow and redfin.com’s Chief Growth Officer Christian Taubman are worth a look.

Doctorow writes:
...earlier this month, we removed the crime map layer from all search results on Realtor.com to rethink the safety information we share on Realtor.com and how we can best integrate it as part of a consumer’s home search experience.

In the weeks and months ahead, we plan to examine closely what neighborhood safety means for buyers and renters who use our site so we can reimagine how we integrate safety data on Realtor.com. Our goal is to ensure we are providing consumers with the most valuable, fair and accurate neighborhood data so they can make informed decisions about where they want to rent or purchase their next home.

We’ve also been collaborating with impressive advocates who have decades of fair housing experience.

I wonder who those "impressive advocates" are? BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors, perhaps? She knows a lot about real estate, having laid out $3.2 million for four houses, including one in lily-white Topanga Canyon.

#6  Haha... they both aggregate and publish Greatschools.net demographic and quality score data. With two clicks any prospective buyer can see the racial composition of the nearest public schools. Crime is of course highly correlated with this demographic 'thing that must not be noticed,' per Steve Sailer.

More fun: the real estate sites also aggregate and publish the Greatschools rating. They give a 1-10 score for academic quality and publish this for every local elementary, middle and high school. This of course is positively correlated with home prices.

The kicker: a public school with a Greatschools rating below 5 is 90% likely to be majority-minority (black or Hispanic).

A public school with a rating of '9' or '10' is 90% likely to be at least 40% Asian and not more than 10% black or Hispanic.

Schools with scores in the middle ranges tend to be between 20% and 30% black or Hispanic.

The NAR's stance was that his speech from the pulpit was incompatible with the NAR's beliefs regarding fair housing and non-discrimination towards the alphabet soup gang (LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ).

We had an icons, invisible to the end users, that we put on rich neighborhoods that marked them so that nobody would routed through the area that didn't have a destination in the area. Then our field guys started returning with data on bad parts of town where people drew guns on them and threatened them.

I suggested using the same icon to avoid navigating folks through these dangerous areas. I was told the suggestion was racist.

Anyway phone navigation replaced it before anyone got killed and the company go sued so live and learn. Not sure I had a point but this madness, refusing to accept reality, has been going on a long time.

Studies Proving Generic Drugs Can Fight COVID Are Being Suppressed
[Federalist] Omicron emerging in the United States and news of the first reported death in the United Kingdom remind us how little we understand the novel coronavirus, and with vaccines less effective against the new variant, how much we are in need of additional ways to fight it. To broaden our knowledge of COVID-19 and identify the best ways to treat and prevent it, doctors should be able to use every possible safe means at their disposal to help patients. Unfortunately, that is impossible in our current political climate.

Since the summer of 2020, U.S. public health agencies have continually shut down the use or even discussion of generic treatments that are minimally profitable. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded 20 large research studies of patented pharmaceutical industry drugs before only recently (and slowly) agreeing to study repurposed generic medicines.

The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control have recommended next to none. Instead, the Biden administration has thrown its political weight almost solely behind mass vaccinations, and hospitals and pharmacies have dogmatically followed suit. But this approach is proving insufficient to arrest COVID-19.

REPURPOSED GENERIC MEDICINES THAT HELP FIGHT COVID
Just look at the evidence on fluvoxamine, a widely used generic antidepressant. A randomized controlled trial (RCT) published in November 2020 showed that the drug led to far less clinical deterioration in treated patients. Another, larger, double-blind RCT, published in The Lancet in October of this year, found fluvoxamine reduced COVID-19 mortality rates by up to 91 percent and hospitalizations by two-thirds. This is an FDA-approved drug. Dosed correctly and for such short periods, it is safe. And it costs about a dollar a pill.

These findings have since been further reinforced by another study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association in November, which showed a strong "class effect" of benefits from anti-depressants very similar to fluvoxamine against COVID-19. Yet, despite the large double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, neither the NIH nor the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has arrived at a recommendation for routine use of these drugs to treat COVID-19.

The NIH to date has ignored the study. Its last update on fluvoxamine dates back to April, more than seven months ago. More disturbing is the fact that the IDSA recently reviewed this high-quality trial, yet still held fast to its recommendation of "do not use outside of a clinical trial." Why do repurposed drugs require numerous trials prior to an agency recommendation, while high-profit, novel, patented drugs get routinely approved after only a single trial?

TikTok ‘challenge' warns of school shootings nationwide today…
[CitizenFreePress] An anonymous threat made on TikTok has school districts on high alert. The threat, which is also being reported as a "challenge," claims that multiple school shootings will take place on Friday.

As a result, numerous schools across the nation have increased security and issued letters to parents as a precaution. Authorities, however, have deemed the threat to be fake.

"Law enforcement agencies have investigated this threat and determined that it originated in Arizona and is not credible," the official Baltimore County Public Schools reported.

"Many of our schools are being inundated with parent calls this morning asking about these latest threats and their validity," Florida’s Citrus County School District tweeted of the situation. "As of Thursday morning, we have not received any indication of a credible threat to any of our schools."
This may not belong in the WOT category but it is a real thing sponsored by the CCP. Many schools in my area are going remote or requesting police on site today. Major disruption.

Joe Biden Flying Illegal Aliens, Deported by Trump, Back to U.S.
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden’s administration is flying illegal aliens, previously deported by former President Donald Trump’s administration, back to the United States.

This week, National Public Radio (NPR) reported that two previously deported illegal aliens, Claudio Rojas of Argentina and Jean Montrevil of Haiti, have since been brought back to the U.S. after they claimed that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency retaliated against them for their open borders advocacy.

Before his 2019 deportation, Rojas had lived as an illegal alien for 19 years while Montrevil was deported in 2018 following more than a decade in the U.S.

Attorneys for the illegal aliens are now demanding that both be given amnesty as reparations for being deported from the U.S. by the Trump administration.

NPR reports:

Claudio Rojas was deported to Argentina in 2019 at exactly the same time that a film about his activism for undocumented immigrants was premiering in theaters. Rojas knew it was going to be an uphill fight to come back. [Emphasis added]
...
Jean Montrevil is an immigrant rights advocate in New York. He was deported, too, in 2018 to Haiti. Montrevil, too, was allowed back into the U.S. under the Biden administration. He landed at JFK Airport in New York in October. [Emphasis added]

Afghanistan
Dozens Of Afghan Helicopters Have Now Arrived At The U.S. Air Force's Boneyard
[The Drive] A total of 24 helicopters that once belonged to the defunct Afghan Air Force are now at the U.S. military's main aircraft boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. Over the past few weeks, an additional four Russian-made Mi-17 Hip transports and 17 MD 530F Little Bird armed light helicopters have joined the three Mi-17s that arrived last month. The War Zone was first to report on the delivery of that initial trio.

It is not clear how many former Afghan Air Force Mi-17s, MD 530Fs, or other types that had belonged to that service the U.S. military ultimately plans to relocate to Arizona. As of July, the month before the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, the Afghan Air Force had 13 Mi-17s and 49 MD 530Fs, according to the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), a U.S. government watchdog.

Regardless, it is clear the U.S. government continues to be under immense pressure to recover as many ex-Afghan Air Force aircraft of all types as possible, or otherwise prevent the repatriation of any airframes that are still in other countries back to the current Taliban-controlled government of Afghanistan. The total number of former Afghan aircraft in storage at Davis-Monthan is likely to grow even further in the near term.

What might happen to any of the aircraft that ultimately end in the boneyard remains to be seen. By and large, the Afghan Air Force operated types that are not in widespread U.S. military service. That being said, Mi-17-type helicopters are notably in use by highly secretive U.S. military special operations units and the Central Intelligence Agency. These organizations could be interested in acquiring some of these former Afghan examples. There have been reports that President Joe Biden's administration has been considering transferring some to the Ukrainian military, which operates Hips, as part of possible new military aid packages to that country as it faces the prospect of a new large-scale Russian invasion.

Multiple New Hampshire Pawn Shops Hit By Smash & Grab Robberies
Yep, that ol' dirtbag hometown of mine, Manchester, NH has made the roster of damn near complete lawlessness:
Fashionable in Massachussetts, too.
[WHDH, Boston] Police have launched an investigation after at least eight brazen smash-and-grab suspects robbed a pawn shop in New Hampshire early Thursday morning, officials said.

Officers responding to a burglary alarm at Gold and Pawn on South Willow Street in Manchester around 4 a.m. found the front door smashed, as well as shattered glass cabinets inside, according to the Manchester Police Department.

Police noted that surveillance video showed eight people enter the store and take various items, including laptops and jewelry. They were said to be in the pawn shop for about three minutes.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Manchester police at 603-668-8711.
I know this area fairly well (1/2 mile from where I used to live, 1/4 mile from my high school), and I believe it's (South Willow St. location) the pawn shop once owned by a former client of my last CPA boss. He got out of the business when gold got to $2,000 back in the early 2000's. Great call, Mr. Milardo!

BTW: has anyone notice how the media was telling us Omicron HIT Europe HARD ☺ over a Month ago.
But here in the USA, we are only see a few 100 cases here and there in the USA.

AN BTW: CDC reports U.S. omicron cases have been mostly mild. WHO Update: with several 1000 cases world wide ONLY one Death with Omicron was reported as of Dec 13, 2021.

Adding FACT to the False JB Flame On: "South Africa, Dr. Unben Pillay is seeing dozens of sick patients a day. Yet he hasn’t had to send anyone to the hospital …“They are able to manage the disease at home,” Pillay said of his patients. “Most have recovered within the 10 to 14-day isolation period.” said Pillay. And that includes older patients and those with health problems that can make them more vulnerable to becoming severely ill from a coronavirus infection, he said."

-War on Police-
Baltimore Police Officer in Critical Condition After Being Shot Several Times in Execution-Style Attack
[Gateway Pundit] A Baltimore police officer is in critical condition after being ambushed and shot while sitting in a patrol vehicle early Thursday, authorities say.

Dr. Thomas Scalea said at a briefing outside the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Shock Trauma Center that the officer was shot multiple times and was on life support, The Baltimore Sun reports.

Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said the officer was on duty but not responding to a call in the Curtis Bay area of southern Baltimore about 1:30 a.m. when the shooter approached from behind and opened fire and the officer’s vehicle accelerated and crashed.

Officers responding to a report of a crash found the officer, who appeared to be suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds, then worked to get the wounded officer to Shock Trauma as quickly as possible, police said in a news release. The officer, who was not immediately identified by name or gender, was listed in "guarded condition," police said.

"This was a cowardly, brazen act to walk up and open fire on a police officer who was doing what we asked that officer to do — to go out to protect and serve," Harrison said in a statement. "Our prayers are with the officer’s family. We are determined to find those responsible for this heinous crime and will not rest until we do."

Afghanistan
Ghani Fled to Save His Life: Mohib
[ToloNews] A former aid to ex-president Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, ex-president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. When Biden abandoned the country left with a helicopter, four cars, and part of the national treasury...
said that Ghani fled the country to save his life and rescue himself from being hanged.

The former national security adviser, Hamdullah Mohib, made the remarks in an interview with Radio Liberty. According to Mohib, the fall of the republic started after the US and the Islamic Emirate signed an agreement on February 29, 2020.

He said that Ghani’s fleeing was unexpected and that a delegation was set to visit Doha on the same day to reach an agreement with the "Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
" over a transition of power.

"We were preparing to travel to Doha to negotiate with the Taliban about convening a Loya Jirga (National Assembly) and about a transition of power," Mohib said.

Mohib said that he was living in the US but the president was still in the UAE. He suggested that Ghani will give his account at some point.

On August 15 Kabul fell to the forces of the Islamic Emirate.

-Land of the Free
Classified JFK assassination files FINALLY released: Lee Harvey Oswald was in contact with member of KGB two months before shooting and CIA was told 'Russia was planning to pay hitman $100k to kill the president' a YEAR before he died
Wednesday the announcement, herewith the results.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • More than 1,500 files were released by the National Archives at noon on Wednesday about JFK's assassination

  • They include memos by CIA officers in the immediate aftermath of the shooting on November 23, 1963

  • One details how Lee Harvey Oswald met with a KGB agent on September 29, 1963, in Mexico City

  • The documents also included previously sealed files on Operation Mongoose, the CIA's plan to destabilize the Cuban government and remove Fidel Castro from power

  • Unsealed files from the 1975 Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Activities state that President Kennedy's brother, Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, was part of the secret National Security Council group overseeing Mongoose

  • Not all of the files will be released; the NSA is holding some back pending further review

  • The secrecy has fueled conspiracy theories about JFK's assassination

  • The President was killed in 1963 by Lee Harvey Oswald while riding in his motorcade in Dallas, Texas

  • Oswald denied shooting JFK in his interviews with police; he was killed two days later while being transported by police by a nightclub owner who shot him

  • Biden had promised to make the files public by October but he delayed, claiming COVID back logs stalled the release

My problem with all this is simple.

After 50+ years and numerous release delays, partial releases and reschedules.

PLUS: "Not all of the files will be released; the NSA is holding some back pending further review" An what still needs review (protected) after 50+ F'ing years of being sifter thru a .0001 micron filter a dozen times?

Now it raises the questions like:
How many people on Operation Mongoose met with odd or untimely deaths?

Whom had the KGB compromised in Congress/US Gov?

Were any of the US political elite steering families involved?

An what still needs review after 50+ F'ing years that has not been sifter thru a 1 micron filter a dozen times.

So how can we trust a damn thing now?Because, at this point even if they did release the real truth, over 1/2 of the readers would still question it.

Afghanistan
Jizya: Fourth batch of $19.2 million arrives in Kabul
[KhaamaPress] Afghanistan’s central bank (Da Afghanistan Bank) announced that Afghanistan International Bank (AIB) received the fourth batch of dollars in cash that contained $19.2 million.

The money is part of humanitarian aids from the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
to Afghanistan that arrived in Kabul on Wednesday, December 15.

Prior to that Afghanistan had received the same amount of dollars in cash both by the UN and UNAMA.

It comes as Afghanistan is now going through the toughest times when it comes to having dollars in cash in the banks.

Economic analysts believe that cash can solve the problem of the absence of cash and the highest price of dollars against Afghani.

The UN has decided to be sending Afghanistan $20 million every week until March 2022.

Businessman Assists Teachers, Needy Families in Mazar-e-Sharif
Nice to see his charity going to the legitimate poor instead of supporting jihad.
[ToloNews] About 10,000 aid packages of flour, oil and other foods will be distributed to school teachers and poor families in Mazar-e-Sharif city by an Afghan businessman.

The process of helping teachers and families started on Wednesday in the city.

Mujtaba Osmani, coordinator of the program, told a TOLOnews’ news hound: "7,000 packages are for teachers, 1,000 are for teachers of Madrassas (religious seminaries) and 2,000 packages will be given to families who were identified as needy."

The teachers, who have not been paid for the past three months, were grateful for the program to assist teachers and needy families.

They stated that their families are struggling with a deteriorating economic situation. "At this critical and bad moment, all teachers and people need assistance," said Hamid, a teacher.

"Our salaries should be paid, I have not received my salary for four months," said another teacher.

In the meantime, Qudratullah Abohamza, governor of Balkh, said some efforts are underway to resolve the economic problems of teachers and that salaries will be paid.

"There is no worry, be sure, salaries which remained unpaid, will be paid, Inshallah," said Abohamza.

The teachers added that such assistance is vital in a situation where the price of basic goods like food and fuel is climbing and families with low income face serious challenges.

Kabardino-Balkaria suspect convicted in recruitment case
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
]KavkazUzel] A military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria Aznaur Chechenov to 10 years in a strict regime colony, having found him guilty of recruiting a local resident into the ranks of Syrian militants. Chechenov pleaded not guilty.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, Aznaur Chechenov was detained on March 23, 2020. In February, a court in Rostov-on-Don extended his detention.

Aznaur Chechenov, a 30-year-old native of the Sovetsky village in the Sovetsky region of Kabardino-Balkaria, was accused of aiding terrorism, illegal arms trafficking and illegal arms manufacture.

"It was established that at the end of January 2020, in the urban settlement of Kashkhatau in the Cherek region of Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechenov, in the course of communication with the citizen "Petrov " (pseudonym), urged him to go to Syria to participate in the armed struggle against the government forces of this state as part of an international organization, Islamic state.

Then Chechenov remade a single-barreled hunting rifle barely enough, which he placed in the trunk of his car. On February 13, 2020, the sawn-off shotgun was discovered and seized by law enforcement officers," court.

Chechenov was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in a maximum security colony with four years in prison, as well as a fine of 100 thousand rubles.

Earlier, lawyer Kazim Atabiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the accusation against Chechenov is based on the testimony of a secret witness, and the accused himself denies his guilt. During the trial, Chechenov also did not admit his guilt, the press service said.

The criminal case against Chechenov entered the court on January 29, the sessions on the merits began at the end of March, the process took 20 sessions, follows from the card index on the website of the Southern District Military Court.

Iraq
Bodies of Iraqi soldiers found in ISIS mass grave in Kifri, or possibly police in Duraji
[Rudaw] Kurdish Peshmerga forces have discovered a mass grave in the northwest of Kifri containing the bodies of at least ten members of the Iraqi army, a Peshmerga official told Rudaw on Thursday.

The mass grave holding members of the Iraqi army was found in a former Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) prison, which the terror group used during their grip on the country to imprison people, Mohammed Syasi, the deputy head of Qaratapa-Hamrin front told Rudaw.

The soldiers "were kidnapped by ISIS militias in 2018," Syasi said.

The mass grave was found between Palkana and Duraji villages, around 10 kilometers northwest of Kifri. It is one of hundreds of mass graves in the country.

Rudaw English reached out to Iraqi Grave Protection but they were not immediately available for comment.

There are more than 200 ISIS mass graves in the country that could contain up to 12,000 bodies, according to the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...

Kurds find mass grave of Islamic State victims in Iraq

[IsraelTimes] Kurdish forces in northern Iraq find a mass grave containing the bodies of at least 11 Iraqi policemen presumed killed by jihadists, a peshmerga security official says.

“A mass grave was discovered on Thursday in the Duraji area” where there are many caves once used as hideouts by the Islamic State group (IS), the official says.

Duraji is in Salaheddin province in an area disputed between the federal government and the autonomous region of Kurdistan.

“The bodies of at least 11 Iraqi police officers have been taken from the grave so far” since the operation began in the morning, says the official. “We think they had been prisoners of IS in 2018,” the official says, adding that both peshmerga and Iraqi federal police were taking part in the search.

He says the mass grave was discovered as a result of “information obtained from IS hideouts in the region where the jihadists imprisoned members of the Iraqi forces they captured.”

Afghanistan
Normalcy: Provincial judges appointed, Mazar-e-Sharif processes IDs

Talib Supreme Court Appoints 69 Provincial Judges

[ToloNews] The Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
has appointed 69 judges to 33 provinces (Panjshir province was not included.)
Hmmm...Is that because it is still under military rule or because they are still working in subduing it?
The Islamic Emirate said that the appointees to the provinces are qualified to address legal cases.

"The 69 individuals are introduced by the Supreme Court and are appointed to positions of appellate court judges and provincial judges- they are all skillful and are experts in Sharia law," said Inamullah Samangai, deputy front man for the Islamic Emirate.

But some political officials reacted to the new appointments in the judicial system, saying that the system needs well-experienced officials.

"It is necessary to appoint officials based on talent, skills, integrity and capability," said Janat Fahim, a political analyst.

"These should be lawyers who are familiar with Afghan and international law," said Toreq Farhadi, a political analyst.

Some lawyers said that the newly appointed officials should not have been accused of committing war crimes.

"The individuals who are being appointed in this section should not have any background of violating human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
or committing war crimes--they should be honest," said Rohulah Sakhi Zada, a lawyer.

The citizens hoped that the new judges would take decisive action in judicial cases.

"Honest and good people should be appointed who can ensure justice," said Khalil Rahman, a Kabul resident.
Electronic ID Distribution Restarts in Mazar-e-Sharif

[ToloNews] Four months since the processing and distribution of electronic Nations Identity Cards (eNIC) was halted, the National Statistics and information Authority (NSIA) of Balkh province said on Wednesday that the process of distributing identity cards (e-Tazkiras) has resumed in Mazar-e-Sharif.

The acting head of the NSIA in Balkh, Mohammad Noor Wasiq, said so far one center has been activated to restart services and two more centers will be opened in the coming days.

"People can register offline for the electronic Tazkira ... we will reopen more centers, if the capital ( Kabul Officials) gives permission," said Mohammad Noor Wasiq.

The residents of Mazar-e-Sharif, who were queuing in front of the center, welcomed the opening of the center. They called on officials to reopen more centers in the city.

"The process restarted, we are happy about it, women are allowed to receive Tazkiras, we are happy," said Maasoma Nazari, a resident in Mazar.

Officials said that more than 300 persons a day go through the biometric processing at the center.

After the victory of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan, the process of issuing passports and identity cards was disrupted for weeks across the country, and citizens--including students who study abroad and patients who need to travel for medical care--were faced with serious travel challenges.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Project Veritas reveals ANOTHER pedophilia scandal involving a CNN producer
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] Wednesday night, Project Veritas published graphic texts and videos of a CNN
...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for...
producer fantasizing about molesting his fiancé’s daughter.

According to the outlet, one text exchange featured the producer telling the source how his fiancé’s daughter was "wearing very closely cut bottoms at the pool," before graphically describing how he could see the outline of her genitals.

The CNN producer also allegedly solicited sexually explicit photos of the source’s underage daughter.

The messages and videos were allegedly obtained by a woman who was involved in a relationship with the CNN producer for over a decade, Janine Banani, a case manager for human trafficking victims, as well as those of domestic violence and sexual assault.

The source claimed to have obtained the information for authorities but contacted Project Veritas when she was worried that action might not be taken. The source told the outlet that she "felt disgusted" and felt the need to come forward because "these people with power seem to get away with it."

"I feel disgusted. I feel dirty and I reply (to the texts) you know, it's, it's your girl's kid like your girlfriend's kid. Usually every time we text, it's always about him wanting to see me and a stepdaughter together."

She then provided a recording in which the producer allegedly said, "...after I'm done having my mouth on her, I'm going to walk up and put my crotch very close to her face," he said referring to the minor, "...slowly unzip my zipper and just guide her head a little closer and I'm just going to have her kiss the head and I'm going to put her hand on it so she can feel what the hard flesh feels like."

The source added, "He sent me a text saying, 'I love that she is getting hot. I want to taste how wet she makes you,' and he's talking about who his second daughter, who's 14 years old, even about my daughter."

The source also alleged that the CNN producer offered her money in exchange for nude pictures of her and her daughter.

She added, "I do not want this girl to be a victim. I'm not a journalist. I'm not a detective to people with power seem to get away with. I just want this kid to be safe."

#5  What gets me is that he is so damn confident and open about it.

Lot of that about.

Biden and son brazenly sell access to the Chinese in Beijing -- on an official vice-presidential trip -- because they're confident and open about it.

Democrats confidently and openly encourage months of murder, arson, looting and mayhem in 2020 in order to create a public perception of chaos, which they then deflect toward OrangeMan.

Comey, Brennan, McCabe, Mueller, Schiff, Isikoff, Korn, Simpson, Rice Obama and a host of others stage a preposterous Russia Hoax about OrangeMan -- and are confident and open about it.

Sens. Hirono, Warren, and half the Senate put forth an absurd lying nutcase from Palo Alto, where she boards a billionaire's plane and flies (despite her avowed terror of flying) across the continent to lie shamelessly about and slander one of our most distinguished judges -- confidently, openly.

Biden lies about his knowledge of AFG's imminent collapse -- confidently, openly.

Biden, Mayorkas, Harris, Ocasio-Cortez lie about the border fiasco they deliberately created -- confidently, openly.

Powell and Yellen repeat their ridiculous and obvious lie about inflation being transitory -- confidently, openly.

Zuckerberg, Bloomberg, Steyer and Soros spend over a billion dollars to rig elections across the country and push their agenda -- confidently, openly.

And now we have ped0philes, ped0philes, f--king disgusting wretched ped0philes all over our Establishment from the PervOTUS and his depraved spawn to Epstein-Clinton-Andrew-Gates to the C!A and CNN -- confidently, openly assault ing children and laughing about it.

Why? In the words of rapist-in-chief Willie Jeff Clinton, Because they can.

Iraq
Two ISIS arms smugglers arrested in Erbil
[Rudaw] Kurdish counterterrorism forces conducted operations against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) in Erbil province, arresting two arms smugglers of the group, the anti-ISIS global coalition said on Thursday.

"Today the CTD [The Directorate General of Counter Terrorism] conducted operations in the Al Zaytun area of Erbil, Iraq which resulted in the capture of two #ISIS arms smugglers. These operations deny ISIS the ability to smuggle, store and transport weapons," read a tweet from the Special Operations Joint Task Force-Levant.

Kurdish counterterrorism forces in Erbil have yet to report the arrests.

This comes weeks after ISIS killed at least 20 members of Peshmerga forces and three civilians in areas disputed between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, especially areas which border Erbil city.

ISIS claimed on its propaganda channel on Telegram earlier this month that it has killed 23 members of Peshmerga and injured 14 others in the disputed areas in nine days.

Europe
France moves to shut mosque with preacher ‘targeting Christians, homosexuals, Jews’
[IsraelTimes] Interior minister begins process to close house of worship for up to 6 months over ’unacceptable’ preaching; authorities say religious leader also defended jihad in sermons

La Belle France’s interior minister said on Tuesday he had launched a procedure to close a mosque for up to six months because of the radical nature of its imam’s preaching.

Gerald Darmanin told the Cnews TV channel he had "triggered" the process of shutting the mosque in Beauvais, a town of 50,000 some 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Gay Paree, because of "unacceptable" preaching.

He said the mosque’s imam "is targeting Christians, homosexuals and Jews" in his sermons.

Authorities in the Oise region, where Beauvais is located, had already announced that they were considering closing down the mosque because of sermons they said incited hatred, violence and "defend jihad."

An official at the Oise prefecture told AFP that a letter had been sent last week announcing the plan, adding that a 10-day period of information-gathering was legally required before any action could be taken.

Local daily Courrier Picard reported that the mosque’s imam was a recent convert to Islam.
What kind of pathetic mosque can only get recent converts to lead prayers?
The paper quoted a lawyer for the association managing the mosque as saying that his remarks had been "taken out of context," and said that the imam had been suspended from his duties following the prefecture’s letter.

Darmanin announced earlier this year that La Belle France would step up checks against places of worship and associations suspected of spreading radical Islamic propaganda.

The crackdown came after the October 2020 murder of teacher Samuel Paty who was targeted following an online campaign against him for having shown controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed published by the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
during a civics class.

According to the interior ministry, 99 mosques and Moslem prayer halls out of La Belle France’s total number of 2,623 have been investigated in recent months because they were suspected of spreading "separatist" ideology.

Of the total, 21 were currently shut for various reasons, and six were being probed with a view to closing them down on the basis of French laws against extremism and Islamist separatism.

Multiple jewelry stores in Massachusetts targeted in smash-and-grab robberies
It’s fashionable in New Hampshire, too.
[WCVB] Police are searching for the people responsible for smash-and-grab robberies at several Massachusetts jewelry stores.Surveillance video shared by Touch of Midas in Burlington shows nine people breaking through the front door in the overnight hours between Saturday and Sunday. Those people then used hammers to smash display cases in order to grab fistfuls of jewelry. Those thieves were able to run off before anyone could catch them.

Roland Racicot, the owner of Roland's Jewelry, said thieves broke into his 30-year-old Medford business and stole about $15,000 in merchandise the same night Touch of Midas was robbed. The two stores are approximately eight miles apart.

"You work your butt off your whole life and then you see what happens. And that hurts," Racicot said.

Some of the items stolen from Roland's Jewelry were for sale while others were waiting for repair.

Rita Ranzo said her Movado wristwatch, a gift from her late husband that was being repaired, was stolen from Roland's.

"My husband worked to pay for that. It wasn't cheap. It was expensive. And these people just come in and think they can take it without any consequence?" Ranzo said. "I hope it turns their wrist green. Believe me, I do."

Time to redesign the store security.

Or Instant roll up barrier walls like used in the UK banks.

Or Display Flush concept.

‘Israel Has Transformed Into a Dictatorship’
Israeli politicians do enjoy their hyperbole.
[GatesOfVienna] In the following video an Ethiopian Jew who is a member of the Knesset in Israel describes the draconian totalitarian laws that have recently been enacted by the new leftist government, ostensibly in response to the latest surge of the Eternal Corona.

Many thanks to RY for the translation, and to Vlad Tepes and RAIR Foundation for the subtitling:

Video transcript:

00:01 Shalom. It’s 4:00am, on Friday.
00:08 Like thieves in the night,
00:13 right now, they pass a draconian legislation...
00:18 One can argue that Israel has been transformed into a police state.
00:23 In fact, it’s the Knesset coalition, members of Meretz, Labor party,
00:27 all the progressive Left, liberal democrats —
00:31 they pass a draconian law stating that it’s possible to arrest an Israeli citizen in the street,
00:36 to enter his/her home without a police warrant,
00:39 and to transform Israel into a dictatorship.
00:43 Now, after 73 years since Israel’s independence,
00:48 officially, owing to the Left, Israel has transformed into a dictatorship.
00:54 This is the ’contribution’ of this Knesset,
00:57 that such a law is passed in the Israeli Knesset, by Meretz, and the Labor Party.
01:01 They enact this cruel legislation against the citizens of Israel.

'Antiracism and Healthy Equity Center' claims 'birthing people' are at higher risk of premature deliveries in over-policed neighborhoods
  • [Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] University of Minnesota School of Public Health (SPH) on December 8 published a report into premature births in certain Minneapolis communities

  • It is titled: 'Association of Residence in High–Police Contact Neighborhoods With Preterm Birth Among Black and White Individuals in Minneapolis'

  • Rachel Hardeman, director of the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity at the university, said her findings were damning

  • She found that 'birthing people' - both black and white - in heavily-policed areas had a significantly raised chance of preterm birth

  • Hardeman reported that white 'birthing people' living in 'high police contact areas' had a 90% higher chance of preterm birth versus different parts of the city

  • Among black Americans, it was a 100% higher chance of preterm birth compared to residents in what are deemed 'low-contact areas'

  • Foreign-born black residents of 'high police contact areas' had a far lower chance of preterm birth than those born in the U.S.

  • Hardeman's use of the term 'birthing people' is part of a growing trend, as people attempt to be more inclusive and socially aware

  • Critics have said it is nonsense to avoid the term 'mothers', because only those born female can give birth

Driver indicted for transporting terrorist to Old City stabbing attack
[IsraelTimes] A 48-year-old resident of Kafr Qasim is being indicted in connection with the stabbing attack of a man in Jerusalem’s Old City earlier this month.

The man, a taxi driver, drove the suspect from the Paleostinian village of Qalqilya to Jerusalem, where the terrorist stabbed a young Haredi man before being rubbed out, according to the indictment.

The indictment charges the taxi driver with negligence for bringing a West Bank resident to Jerusalem, and says that he "should have suspected that a West Bank resident could carry out an attack in Israeli territory."

Children's remains were found near the former concentration camp in the Oryol region
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA Novosti] Children's remains found at the site of construction works in the city of Bolkhov Oryol region near the place where during the Second World War settled hosted by Nazi occupiers camp for Soviet prisoners of war, information about the discovery transferred to the Investigative Committee, told RIA Novosti the head of the regional branch of " Search Engine traffic Russia," Sergey Shcherbaty.

“We were looking for Red Army soldiers who died and went missing during the Great Patriotic War."

During the occupation, dozens of prisons and concentration camps operated on the territory of the Oryol region. In Bolkhov, the Nazis set up a POW camp in the building of the Karl Marx School .

The Red Army men, exhausted from hunger, worked on the construction of German defensive structures for 10-14 hours a day. When the prisoners were escorted through the city to work, they were brutally beaten with rifle butts and sticks.

From torture, torture and hunger, as well as executions in the concentration camp, 500 prisoners of war died, whose corpses were taken out of the city by the Nazis and thrown into a ditch.

Russian law enforcement agencies, search engines and historians are doing a lot of work to identify new facts of the crimes of the Nazi invaders and their accomplices against civilians during the Great Patriotic War in different regions of the USSR. The data obtained are necessary for a legal assessment of those atrocities, regardless of the time of their commission.

The first lawsuit regarding the massacre of civilians and prisoners of war in the village of Zhestyanaya Gorka was upheld by the Novgorod court in October 2020.

This was followed by similar processes in a number of other regions. In August, the Pskov regional court, at the suit of the prosecutor's office, recognized the newly revealed crimes committed in 1941-1945 by the Nazis on the territory of the former concentration camp in Moglino, as well as in different areas in the Pskov region, where more than 75,000 civilian Soviet citizens were killed, more than 377,000 prisoners of war, forcibly driven away for forced labor more than 192 thousand citizens of the USSR .

In September, Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov reported on the impending claims on this topic in the Bryansk and Rostov regions .

[Last Refuge] The Commerce Department November retail sales data was release today [DATA HERE] — [DETAIL pdf HERE]. The top line issue is a shocking drop in retail sales for November in key categories that align with previous discussion of inflation spending priorities for all U.S. consumers.

Before getting to the data, one point is critical to remember. The commerce department sales figures are based on dollars spent. This point is important, because the items being purchased have inflation within them. When prices are higher due to inflation, sales figures should be higher due to higher prices. Ex. If there is an 8% increase in retail price, but only a 4% increase in retail sales, that means less stuff is being sold. [Less units sold at a higher price gives the illusion of an increase in sales.]

Despite the start of the traditional holiday sales and shopping period, the total sales growth in November was 0.3% over October [Column A]. Factoring in inflation during the same month to month comparison at 0.9%, you can tell that overall in November there was a drop in units sold across the total of retail sales outlets.

Afghanistan
Uruzgan: 2 Children Killed in Explosion of Leftover Ordnance
[ToloNews] At least two children were killed and eight other people were maimed, including women, in a blast in the southwestern province of Uruzgan on Thursday.

The blast occurred on Wednesday evening in Gaizab district of the province, officials said.

According to the provincial head of information and culture, the blast was due to a kaboom of ordnance left over from past fighting in the area.

All of the victims were children and women, he added.

Due to the conflict in Afghanistan that has lasted over 40 years, a lot of explosive ammunition remains in the countryside and civilians are killed or injured in detonations.

Burundi contingent commander hails SNA in Al-Shabaab war in Somalia
[Garowe] A top general with Burundi Defense Forces has hailed the Somali National Army [SNA] for their dedication in the fight against al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
bad boys, who have been wreaking havoc in the Horn of Africa nation for over a decade.

Brig Gen. Telesphore Barandereka, whose tenure in Somalia has ended, attributed his contingent’s victories over al-Shabaab to the existing cordial relations with Somali security forces and residents of Hirshabelle State.

Brig Gen. Barandereka completed his one-year tour of duty under AMISOM. He commanded the Burundi troops based in Jowhar, under the AMISOM Sector 5, which oversees security in the Middle Shabelle region.

"It was a good opportunity as an African military officer to contribute to the stability of Somalia, the region, Africa, and global stability because terrorism haunts the entire world," Brig. Gen. Barandereka said.

According to him, despite a myriad of challenges including the outbreak of Covid-19, the Burundian troops serving under AMISOM had played a key role in fulfilling the mission’s mandate. AMISOM Burundi troops operate in 18 forward operating bases [FOBs].

They also secure the major population centers of Jowhar, Balcad, Mahaday, and Adale along the Indian Ocean coastline north of Mogadishu.

"There are so many challenges that we had to overcome, which tested my command capabilities as I had to try to overcome the challenges. There were particularly climate-related challenges, others related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which raged and affected several activities. However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
we tried to adapt to the environment," he added.

During his one year of service as Burundi contingent commander, Brig Gen. Barandereka and his troops conducted joint operations with the Somali National Army to degrade al-Shabaab in Hirshabelle State and liberated key locations from al-Shabaab control.

"Some of the important operations conducted to degrade al-Shabaab threat included the operation to liberate Basra, which was an al-Shabaab stronghold. The operation was carried out in collaboration with Sector One and jointly with the Somali security forces," said the Brigadier General.

Other achievements included supporting the Somali security forces to secure the elections in Hirshabelle State for the Upper House of the federal Parliament and extending the runway at the Jowhar Airport.

Also, AMISOM Sector 5 has established a Joint Operations Coordination Cell to bolster planning and coordination of joint operations against al-Shabaab snuffies by AMISOM and Somali security forces.

Barandereka also urged the people of Somalia to support ongoing efforts by the federal government and international partners to restore peace and stability in the country.

In 2007, Burundi became the second country to deploy troops in Somalia, after the federal republic of Æthiopia. Currently, the Force Commander Lt. General Ndegeya, comes from Burundi and has been at the helm for almost a year.

1918: Before the Brest Peace
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On February 9, 1918, the Germans and Austrians issued an ultimatum demanded that representatives of Soviet Russia recognize their treaty with the Central Rada. In response, on February 10, Trotsky categorically refused to make concessions. He was sure that the Germans and Austrians would not be able to afford an offensive. The Bolsheviks hoped for a powerful ally - the revolution. Trotsky stated:

"In anticipation of the, we hope, close, hour, when the oppressed classes of all countries will take power into their own hands, like the working people of Russia, we are withdrawing our army and our people from the war ... We are withdrawing from the war. We inform all peoples and their governments about this.

(ISIS) group, an official from northeast Syria (Rojava) said on Thursday, raising the toll of repatriated orphans to the soviet state from the region’s camps to over two hundred.

Rojava will handover eight Russian children to the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Russia Maria Lvova-Belova and her accompanying delegation, the co-chair of Rojava’s foreign relations commission Abdulkarim Omar said in a presser on Thursday.

"We have previously handed over 225 orphaned children to Russia," Omar added.

Omar did not disclose from which camps the children were taken from.

At least 126 crimes have been committed in al-Hol camp since the start of the year and 13 tents were deliberately set on fire, ANHA said. A Syrian refugee was found shot dead on Wednesday morning.

The head of a humanitarian organization described the camp as “the place where hope is going to die” during a visit to al-Hol in late March.

CAIR-Ohio fires director for being an anti-terrorist mole
Former newspaperman has thoughts on this story from yesterday.
[DonSurber] The Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations fired its Executive and Legal Director Romin Iqbal for working with the Investigative Project on Terrorism, founded by Steven Emerson in 1995.

CAIR labeled the organization an anti-Muslim hate group, and thus the media did as well.

CBS reported, "A director of the Ohio Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) has been fired for allegedly aiding an anti-Muslim hate group."

Few media outlets named this alleged anti-Muslim hate group.

The Columbus Dispatch did name the group.

It said, "For several years, Iqbal, the executive and legal director of CAIR-Ohio, has been recording network meetings and sharing information regarding CAIR’s national advocacy work with the Investigative Project on Terrorism, a known anti-Muslim group, according to a Tuesday press release from the organization’s Ohio chapter.

"Saying he was among moles for the IPT, a Washington-D.C. Based nonprofit, Nihad Awad, CAIR’s national executive director, released information on the situation late Tuesday night, saying that last year the national office was sent information about the Investigative Project on Terrorism."

While the newspaper's story was thorough, no one contacted IPT for its side of the story. The fired director apparently did not return phone calls.

Also not mentioned in the Dispatch story -- or anyone's -- was IPT's work in bringing down the Holy Land Foundation, which 20 years ago was the largest Muslim charity in America. It also was funding Hamas. The founder of CAIR-Texas in Dallas was among those sentenced in 2008 for their terrorist activities. He got the longest sentence: 65 years.

I can see why CAIR might mot like IPT and would brand it a hate group.

But CAIR may have had cause to fire Iqbal.

CBS reported, "CAIR-Ohio said its Columbus office found suspicious purchases from ammunition and gun retailers in recent weeks made with a credit card linked to Iqbal.

"Staffers also found a suspicious package Monday mailed to the CAIR-Ohio Columbus branch containing parts for an AR-15, the group said, adding that the parts were bought with the credit card, though it couldn't say who bought the parts.

"The organization fill in law enforcement, which is investigating."

I don't know.

'Tis a weird story. We shall see if the media bothers with it or it goes down the memory hole along with the black supremacist who ran his SUV into Waukesha's Christmas Parade, killing six people and injuring another 50.

Western coalition in Syria shoots down menacing drone
[AlAhram] A drone that threatened a base with US and partner forces in southern Syria was shot down by a British fighter jet with the Western anti-Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
coalition, the Pentagon said Thursday.

The US Central Command said that two "unmanned aerial systems" had flown toward the al-Tanf desert garrison near the Syrian border with Iraq and Jordan late Tuesday.

"As one of the UAS continued its course deeper into the al-Tanf Deconfliction Zone, it was assessed as demonstrating hostile intent and was shot down," said Bill Urban, front man for the US Central Command.

The second drone was not attacked and "likely left the area," Urban said in a statement.

The British defense ministry said the drone was downed by a missile from a Royal Air Force Typhoon, the first-ever air-to-air engagement by one of the British fighter jets.

The small size of the drone made it a "very challenging target," the ministry said.

But officials did not say if it was armed or not.

"This strike is an impressive demonstration of the RAF's ability to take out hostile targets in the air which pose a threat to our forces," said British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace.

Neither the United States nor the British would say who launched the drones toward the base.

The Pentagon has blamed drone attacks on US forces in Iraq over the past years on Iran-backed militia groups.

Iran-backed forces are deployed in close proximity to al-Tanf, which sits on the strategically important Baghdad-Damascus highway.

In October the base came under attack by artillery fire and drones.

"We know that this is an increasingly used and increasingly potentially lethal threat that these Iran-backed militia groups are using, the use of drones," Pentagon front man John Kirby said Thursday.

Man is jailed for life for driving Mercedes into German carnival parade last year, seriously injuring 90 people
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Maurice Pahler, 31, given life term for German carnival attack in February 2020

  • He was convicted of 89 counts of attempted murder after driving into crowds watching parade in Volkmarsen in Hesse

  • Prosecutors said attack was deliberate, and he filmed it using a dash camera

  • But not motive was given - Pahler has never spoken to police about the attack, gave no testimony, and refused to cooperate with psychologists
It seems reasonable to assume this was therefore not jihad — jihadis tend to shriek their devotion to the skies.
Deutsche Welle adds:
A psychiatric assessment of Maurice P. concluded that he suffers from a severe personality disorder that includes narcissistic, schizophrenic and paranoid traits.

However, he was not deemed to be in need of stationary psychiatric care.

#11  It's not like the type/make/model, of the vehicle makes any difference.

Clearly they're heavy, gas hog, CO2 belching SUVs.

#12  "The court also ruled that there was a "particular severity of guilt" in the crime, which in Germany means that the accused will not be automatically eligible for a parole hearing after 15 years as is usual with other life sentences."

Looks more like 25 years before parole could be granted but if he's considered a danger after this time he will remain locked up.

One Israeli dead after terror shooting attack in West Bank
[JPost] Terrorists shot towards a moving car on a northern West Bank road, killing one of three Israelis inside.

Three IDF battalions scoured the West Bank for the Palestinian gunmen who riddled a car with bullets on Thursday night, killing Yehuda Dimentman, 25, and injuring two others.

Dimentman was married and had a toddler. He was a resident of the Shavei Shomron settlement and a student at the Homesh Yeshiva.

The IDF blamed a terror cell for the attack, noting that more than 10 bullets had been shot at the vehicle. "The security forces will get their hands on the terrorists very soon and will ensure that justice is served," Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said.

"Together with all the people of Israel, I send heartfelt condolences to the family of the person killed and a speedy recovery to the wounded," he said.
