[Breitbart] The domestic crises continue in U.S. ports and on the southern border but President Joe Biden and his administration are focused on so-called climate change, including releasing a a 40-page report on Friday on how the issue threatens the U.S. economy.
The report connects weather to endangering finances, insurance, housing, and savings for American families.
The summary of the report states:
Climate change poses serious and systemic risks to the U.S. economy and financial system. As outlined in this report, the United States government is using all of its tools to properly account for and mitigate climate change-related financial and economic risks, as climate impacts are already affecting American jobs, homes, families’ hard-earned savings, and businesses.
The country must work with urgency to reduce the risks of climate change by addressing its drivers and creating a stronger, more resilient economy. This report lays out a roadmap for measuring, disclosing, managing, and mitigating climate-related financial risk across the economy, including to the Federal Government, while also catalyzing public and private investment to seize the opportunity of a net-zero, clean energy future.
This comes following Biden’s May 2021 executive order. Biden said of his order:
The intensifying impacts of climate change present physical risk to assets, publicly traded securities, private investments, and companies…the failure of financial institutions to appropriately and adequately account for and measure these physical and transition risks threatens the competitiveness of U.S. companies and markets, the life savings and pensions of U.S. workers and families, and the ability of U.S. financial institutions to serve communities. … In this effort, the Federal Government should lead by example by appropriately prioritizing Federal investments and conducting prudent fiscal management.
The report speaks about an economic “realignment” and even the supply chain — without mentioning the current crisis:
This realignment will also include a greater exploration of climate-related financial risks related to the agricultural, forest, and land use sector (AFOLU). The Federal Government needs to better understand how AFOLU climate-related financial risk might affect U.S. supply chains and U.S. farmers, ranchers, foresters, and agricultural workers as well as how the Federal Government can play a positive role by promoting climate-smart agricultural and forestry practices, investing in coastal resilience and other land and water projects that mitigate climate impacts, and using financial and other tools to conserve critical carbon sinks.
“If this year has shown us anything, it’s that climate change poses an ongoing urgent and systemic risk to our economy and to the lives and livelihoods of everyday Americans, and we must act now,” Gina McCarthy, the White House national climate adviser, told reporters, according to Time magazine.
Time said the timing of the report is significant because it is designed “to showcase to the world how serious the U.S. government is about tackling climate change ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference running from Oct. 31 to Nov. 12 in Glasgow, Scotland.”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is seeking proposals for a new system that will allow it to track the biometric data of its workers in order to monitor their physical and mental well-being.
DHS said in a call for proposals this week that it is looking to “find innovative technological solutions that will improve the overall health and wellness of those consistently placed in high-stress and dangerous conditions” under DHS employment.

Aimed at their own workers, it’s a step up from the FitBits Toyota gave to trailing daughter #2 and Mr. Daughter2 a few years ago with financial rewards for walking X steps/week or month, the data from the thing being automatically shared in both directions. It worked wonderfully for about the first six months, until it occurred to some extra competitive employees that the thing would count arm waves as if they were real steps, making achieving payoff goals that much faster and easier.
The Big Brother aspect of the thing didn’t trouble them at all in the beginning. Nor later, when they were functionally lying to her employer. The possibility of which no doubt has not occurred to the hip executives considering this thing at Homeland.

I've heard Biden speak at several conferences. On at least two occasions he said he not only believed in the 'all politics is local' theory of the late Tip O'Neill but also 'all foreign policy is personal' which he wanted to call the Biden rule.
Of course both theories have a little bit of truth but are mostly non sense and the Biden one is more nonsensical than the O'Neill one. Biden cited his 'productive meetings' with various leaders to emphasize his point. I wish I could have asked him about his comment back in 2010 that he had spoken to 'literally every leader in Iraq' and determined that ISIS wasn't a threat.

[Breitbart] The Polish parliament has passed a new law that will see illegal migrants turned away at the border and banned from entering Poland for a number of years, and a wall on the border with Belarus funded.
The legislation was passed on Thursday by Poland’s parliament, and will allow Polish border guards to turn away migrants at the border and push them back to the country they illegally crossed from.
The law also states that anyone caught entering Poland illegally will be banned from entering the country again from a period of six months to three years, and also states that asylum claims from those who have entered Poland illegally can be ignored, broadcaster SVT reports.
According to the EU-funded website InfoMigrnats, there are exceptions for asylum seekers who have come directly from a country where their lives and freedoms are threatened and have not stopped in other countries before coming to Poland.
Polish lawmakers have also given the go-ahead to build a wall on the roughly 250-mile border with Belarus, estimated to cost around €353 million.
The former Soviet Socialist Republic is believed to be engineering the surge in crossings by migrants — originally from Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, for the most part — in order to punish Poland for sheltering Belarusian dissidents.
Poland’s Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said the wall would be a “solid high barrier with a surveillance system of cameras and movement sensors.”
A similar barrier has been built in Greece along the country’s land border with Turkey and is also equipped with “extremely technologically advanced” surveillance systems according to the Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis.
Both Greece and Poland are among 12 signatories to a letter addressed to the European Union earlier this month which called on the political bloc to do more to tackle illegal immigration.
Tensions along the border with Belarus have increased in recent weeks, with reports that Belarusian forces opened fire at Polish personnel stations along the border, although no one was injured during the inciden.
A spokeswoman for the Polish border guard speculated that the shots fired were not live ammunition.

Biden made the comment after a toddler hugged him, and while a protestor across the street shouted "F--k Joe Biden," the New York Post reported.
"When I talked to all your folks out on the playground, I joked that everybody knows I like kids better than people," Biden said outside the center in Hartford. "Fortunately, they like me. That’s why maybe I like them."
Biden was jeered by protesters throughout his visit to Connecticut. The protesters included both Trump supporters and immigration reform activists, according to reports.
According to numerous pool reporters, Biden was called a slew of names, along with profanity being shouted at him and his motorcade.
Biden's trip to Connecticut comes at a time when his political agenda has so far stalled in Congress.
[American Military News] Robert Malley, President Joe Biden’s Special Envoy for Iran, warned this week to prepare for Iran to ignore all constraints on its nuclear program, as Iran continues to approach weapons-grade nuclear fuel.
During a virtual discussion on Iran policy hosted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Malley said, "We have to prepare for a world . . . where Iran doesn’t have constraints on its nuclear program."
Malley also criticized President Donald Trump’s administration for withdrawing the U.S. from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Trump withdrew from the deal in May 2018, following criticisms the agreement did little to constrain Iran and that Iran had violated it by not disclosing a past nuclear weapons program.
Following the U.S. withdrawal from the deal, Iran has also begun ignoring constraints on its nuclear program, such as the amount and enrichment levels of nuclear materials it can have. According to a September report, Iran stands poised to achieve a nuclear breakout in which it could rush to enrich enough nuclear material to fuel its first nuclear warhead in a matter of weeks.

The six additional freighters include one for FedEx and five for unidentified customers.
They bring the total number of 777Fs ordered this year to 36, alongside orders for another 23 freighters — comprising 19 767-300Fs and four 747-8Fs.
Boeing says September generated 22 net orders, the eighth month in succession for which net orders have been positive.

[NYPost] China tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile in August that circled the globe before speeding towards its target, The Financial Times reported.
The test shows China has advanced space capability that “caught US intelligence by surprise,” the outlet reported.
Citing five people “familiar with the test,” the report said the Chinese military launched a rocket that carried a hypersonic glide vehicle, which flew through low-orbit space before cruising toward its target.
It missed the target by about two-dozen miles, but shows China’s “astounding progress” on hypersonic weapons, the report said.
The U.S., Russia and China have all been working on hypersonic weapons. Russia tested one such missile in July. The US plans to outfit all of the Navy’s destroyers with these missiles, which can travel five times faster than the speed of sound. That makes them slower than some existing ballistic missiles, but unlike the older technology, hypersonic missiles can be controlled after launch, making it easier to evade defense systems.

On Friday Amtrak Train 822 was passing by Thackerville when it slammed into a car hauler tractor trailer that got stuck on the track
Officials said the tracks the tractor trailer got stuck on were built up higher at that crossing and the weight of all the cars on the trailer held the vehicle down
Footage captured the Amtrak train honking it's horns before it slams at full speed into the truck sending cars and debris flying into the air
Miraculously, the driver of the tractor trailer and his dog were not injured, just 'shaken up' following the collision

The problem here is that the crossing and immediate entry area are property and responsibility of the railroad, while the road approach is maintained by the local street authority. That's why you have all of these 'hump backed' railroad crossings.
Meanwhile, trailer manufacturers have lowered the bed of most trailers to lower the center of gravity, increase the payload, and increase aerodynamics. It's always somebody else's problem.

[Mercer] America’s crumbling education system is in the news. On October 5th, Joe Biden managed to disgorge some dismal indicators as to the future prospects of America’s youth compared to the rest of the developed world.
Joe didn’t quite say it, but America’s kids, the product of an obscenely well-funded school system, rank last in the developed world in reading, writing and math, making homegrown retardation a far more pressing problem in modern-day America than homegrown terrorism.
Yet conservatives have kept insisting, throughout the Covid lockdowns and quarantines, that kids were missing out on an education because they were out of school.
To paraphrase Joan Rivers, how can you miss out on a rash? (When Madonna accused Lady Gaga of stealing her music, the great, late, lady Joan wanted to know how you could steal a rash.)
A particularly startling fact caught my attention in the Economist. "At 15, children in Massachusetts, where education standards are higher than in most states, are so far behind their counterparts in Shanghai at math, that it would take them more than two years of regular education to catch up."
This last fact is enormously telling and alarming. It tells you that America’s best schools and students can’t compete with the world’s best.

The Chinese get all their education from paid tutors, beginning as soon as the kids can read. Chinese and Korean (also Russian) immigrants to this country continue the tradition here: they know our schools suck and are unwilling to let their kids fall 2+ years behind their cousins in the home country.
Given the collapse of American education, remote-education tutors and homeschooling will be the only viable path for American high-achieving kids of any background. Which means the American public school system will collapse in about 15-20 years.

[KhaamaPress] Afghanistan’s ministry of transport and civil aviation said that Pakistain International Airlines (PIA) and Afghanistan’s Kam Air and Ariana Airlines to resume their normal fights from Kabul to Islamabad.
The decision was made after the acting minister of transport and civil aviation met with Pakistain’s ambassador to Kabul and authorities of the three Airlines.
The trilateral meeting was conducted on Friday, October 15 in Kabul.
It comes after PIA suspended its flights from Kabul following a warning by Afghanistan’s Civil Aviation Administration. The statement had warned of the ban on PIA and Kam Air if they do not reduce fares.
The ministry, ambassador, and Airlines unanimously agreed to be reducing the prices of tickets, and a trilateral technical team will be established by the Airlines to do so.
Recently, PIA was charging $2,500 for each ticket the price of which was once $150 from Kabul to Islamabad.
Pakistain has closed all its land crossing points with Afghanistan that has put tens of thousands of people in trouble.
The closure of crossing points has also rotten tens of tonnes of pomegranate and the Afghan traders have inflicted heavy financial loss.
Intl Backing for Food, Farming Programs Halted: FAO
[ToloNews] The UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said that some of the organizations supporting food and agriculture in Afghanistan have halted their operations.
Deputy FAO Representative Fabrizio Cesaretti said on Friday that the organization would cover 3.5 million people who are in grave need. "Agriculture is still one of the main sectors for the economy of Afghanistan and it is surely the basic food production for the people and rural livelihoods are at risk because ... many government-sponsored projects funded by the World Bank or other donors are now suspended," he added.
The recent drought, Covid-19 crisis and halt in international humanitarian support are said to be the main reasons for the increase of food insecurity and challenges to the agriculture sector of Afghanistan.
The World Food Program (WFP) warned that Afghanistan was facing a severe food shortage crisis.
According to WFP officials, this year’s theme for the celebration of International Food Day was "climate change." They called climate change a main factor in hunger and food insecurity.
"There are a lot of problems this year in Afghanistan, food insecurity is a challenge, and organizations including the WFP are attempting to provide assistance to the people," said Wahidulllah Amani, a front man for the WFP.
A Kabul resident, Haji Mohammad, said: "I usually buy four pieces of bread and eat them together with a family of 13 members just to stay alive, we don’t have anything else."
October 16 is designated World Food Day. According to initial statics, over 60 percent of Afghans are jobless, and more than half of the country’s population is facing hunger.

Truckloads of Medicine Stopped At Customs Borders
[ToloNews] The union of pharmacy owners said that the over 50 trucks loaded with medical supplies have been stopped at the borders for unknown reasons.
The union warned that if the trucks are not allowed to enter Afghanistan, there will be a severe shortage of medical supplies across the country within the next month.
“The medicine factories are faced with a shortage of medicine and the important medicine is used up,” said Azizullah Shafiq, a member of the union. “If this situation continues, Afghanistan will face a serious crisis of medical supplies.”
The majority of medical supplies are imported to Afghanistan from foreign countries.
Shukrullah, a resident of Kabul, said: “The doctor gave me this prescription. I have been searching for this medicine for the last three days but couldn't find it. The important medicines don’t exist.”
The owners of the medicine factories said that many factories stopped operating due to a shortage of medicine elements.
The chief inspector of medical factories, Abdul Karim Khosti, said: “The flights are suspended and the customs stopped many trucks with medical products and now many factories lack access to medical materials to produce medicine.”
Pharmacy owners voiced concerned, saying that the stopped flow of medical supplies at the border is affecting their business.
“The increasing rate of the dollar and closure of ground borders and suspension of flights caused us to face a shortage of drugs,” said Abdullah, a pharmacy owner.
Earlier, the World Health Organization warned that due to the suspension of flights, the public hospitals in Afghanistan are facing a shortage of medical supplies.
[KSTP] A group of Minneapolis neighbors is calling Gov. Tim Walz’s response to a request for help "insufficient."
More than two dozen people who live on the north side sent a letter to the governor in September asking him to send the National Guard and State Patrol to the city to assist Minneapolis Police amid ongoing violence.
On Thursday, the Public Engagement Department responded with a letter of its own.
"My gut response is it was exactly what I thought," said Becka Thompson, who’s lived in the Victory neighborhood for 11 years. "It was a lot of ’we’ve done this, we’ve done that,’ but at the end of the day, ’we’re not going to do anything.’"
Tyler Balbuena, who received the letter on behalf of the neighborhood group, echoed those frustrations.
"Nothing in this letter commits to sending additional resources to Minneapolis to aid us. To me it seems the Governor is telling us we are still on our own," Balbuena said through email. "Several of my neighbors are pursuing carry permits since the city and state have failed in their duty to provide for public safety. I expect that trend to continue the longer we are left to fend for ourselves. I can't imagine this level of homicide and violent mostly peaceful crime would be allowed to continue anywhere else in the state."
The letter from the Governor’s Office is dated Oct. 14, 2021. It says, in part, "Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan are committed to ensuring that every Minnesotan lives in a safe and supportive community. The challenges the City of Minneapolis faces in public safety are troubling and a manifestation of a nationwide rise in violent mostly peaceful crime during the pandemic."

"In the video he appears to be under duress," she said, and the wording of the statement was unlike his usual language.
"All this suggests that Hoteit issued the video statement because he felt pressured to do so."

But Judge James Linn noted that Smollett's case now was being led by a special prosecutor appointed by another judge, an arrangement that he would not upset.
A Cook County judge on Friday shot down former ’Empire’ star Jussie Smollett's effort have a criminal case against him dismissed. Smollett is accused of lying to police when he reported that two masked men attacked him in downtown Chicago in January 2019.
Linn said jury selection in Smollett's trial would start Nov. 29.
Smollett, a gay Black man, told police in 2019 that two masked men attacked him when he was in Chicago working on "Empire." But he was charged weeks later with filing a false police report, after Sherlocks concluded that he staged the attack and paid two brothers to carry it out because he was unhappy about his salary and wanted to promote his career. That case, however, was dropped.
The case was revived when a special prosecutor charged Smollett with disorderly conduct over the police reports. The actor has pleaded not guilty "Wudn't me." Although Uche tried to have the case dismissed, he said Smollett wants "nothing more than to go to a jury and clear his name."

"This is outrageous," railed real estate executive William Abramson, who represents residential and commercial clients around the city, many of whom have complained to him about addicts found whacked out in their stoops and doorways.
"Once again, quality of life in New York City continues to deteriorate because of laws that do not consider the residents and businesses of the city. We all agree that something needs to be done to help addicts. But letting them shoot up on the streets does not help anyone. This is bad for everyone."
Drug deaths across the city are skyrocketing. The Centers for Disease Control reports 2,243 people died from drug overdoses in New York City for the 12-month period that ended March 31 — a staggering 36 percent increase in overdose deaths from the year before.
The NYPD decree also tells cops that "it is no longer a violation of law for an individual to possess a hypodermic needle, even when it did not come from a pharmacy or a needle exchange program."

The prosecution’s investigations resulted in the identification of the perpetrator of the migrant’s murder in the shelter, and an arrest warrant was issued for him. The statement did not mention the name or the rank of the perpetrator.
The Attorney General’s Office denied the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) report that four migrants colonists were killed during those events, describing the statements as false.
On the 6th of October, 500 migrants colonists managed to escape from the Gheriyan centre and were chased by guards who opened fire using live ammunition.

Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt of the Upper Darby Police Department said officers were called to the 69th Street terminal around 10 p.m. Wednesday after the assault on the westbound train on the Market-Frankford Line.
An employee of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority who was in the vicinity as the train went past called police to report that "something wasn’t right" with a woman aboard the train, Bernhardt said.
SEPTA police waiting at the next stop found the woman and arrested a man. The woman was taken to a hospital.
The entire episode was captured on surveillance video that showed other people on the train at the time, Bernhardt said.
"There was a lot of people, in my opinion, that should have intervened; somebody should have done something," Bernhardt said. "It speaks to where we are in society. I mean, who would allow something like that to take place? So it’s troubling."
Fiston Ngoy, 35, has been charged with rape, aggravated indecent assault and related counts, according to Delaware County court records. Bernhardt said both SEPTA and Upper Darby Police are familiar with Ngoy.

Upon their arrival, the group of around 60 migrants were immediately detained by police stationed on the beach.

[CHICAGO.SUNTIMES] Democrats in the Illinois General Assembly released the proposed new congressional map on Friday, with the lines drawn to yield 14 Democratic and three Republican districts.
The current House delegation is made up of 13 Democrats and five Republicans. Illinois lost a seat because of population shifts reflected in the 2020 census.
The potential three-seat pickup for Democrats in the Illinois remap could determine whether Democrats, led by House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. GOP Reps. Adam Kinzinger and Rodney Davis have said they may run for senator or governor if they determine there is no district where they have a chance to win.
Kinzinger, of Channahon, who carved out a national profile with his anti-Trump crusade, is in a district with freshman Democrat Marie Newman of LaGrange. The district has a Democratic edge. Kinzinger’s political problem is that he is a major target of the pro-Trump forces in the GOP and he would face a primary battle he may not survive no matter the district he picked to run in.

People said the number of victims has risen to nearly 50 people and 90 injured.
ISIS has grabbed credit for Friday's attacks.
According to locals, this was the first ISIS attack on the Shia community in Kandahar.
Following the earth-shattering kabooms, a number of Kandahar Sunni people rushed into hospitals to donate blood to those injured in the attack. They said no group can create discord among them based on religious lines.
The Kandahar police chief meanwhile said they are working to arrest those behind the attack.
Eyewitnesses said four button men first opened fire on the mosque’s guards and one of them were killed by the guards but three of them entered the mosque and deronated their explosives.
Eyewitnesses said three back-to-back explosions hit Imam Bargah Fatimeyah mosque, one of the largest mosques in Kandahar city during the Friday prayers.
According to eyewitnesses, three men equipped with guns and explosives first opened fire on the worshippers and then exploded their explosives at three different parts of the mosque.
In the wake of the explosions, Kandahar police chief Maulvi Mehmood said security for the mosque had been provided by guards from the Shia community but that following the "brutal attack" the Taliban would take charge of its protection.
Witnesses spoke of gunfire alongside the explosions, and a security guard assigned to protect the mosque said three of his comrades had been shot as the bombers fought their way in.
Sayed Rohullah told AFP: "It was the Friday prayer time, and when we were preparing I heard shots. Two people had entered the mosque.
"They had opened fire on the guards and in response the guards had also opened fire on them. One of them committed a suicide blast inside the mosque."
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in its Telegram channel confirmed on Saturday, October 16 that the attack and twin blasts were carried out by them.
Khorasan branch of ISIS in their statement said that two of their suicide bombers conducted the attack on a Shite mosque in Kandahar province on Friday killing and wounding over 150 worshipers.
The statement of ISIS-K reads that the first suicide bomber detonated his explosives in the hallway of the mosque and others did it inside the mosque where hundreds of people had gathered to perform Friday prayer.
It was first said that there were three suicide bombers who shot the security guards of the mosque and then entered the mosque and detonated their explosive vests.
As per local health officials, the number of people killed rose to 63, and those who were wounded increased to 83.

[Rudaw] Two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed and four injured in a roadside explosion in rebel-held northwest Syria on Friday, according to a conflict monitor. Ankara has not immediately reported on the incident.
"Two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed and four others were maimed due to an IED [improvised bomb] explosion which targeted a Ottoman Turkish military convoy near Kafriya-Maarrat Masrin junction on Idlib-Bab al-Hawa road to the north of Idlib city," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.
Ottoman Turkish forces quickly brought in reinforcements to the area on the road linking the border town of Bab al-Hawa with Idlib city, according to North Press Agency.

Ottoman Turkish media and the country’s defence ministry have not reported the attack that was claimed by Ansar Abi Bakir al-Sadiq brigade, a Syrian militia group that has carried out several attacks against Ottoman Turkish forces in Idlib. Instead, it is a framework that authorizes the federal bureaucracy to spend trillions to achieve the goals of this new economic and cultural framework.
In a functioning parliamentary system, annual budgets are debated among the representatives, usually over taxes and spending. For decades now, the American system has been one where the prior budget is the baseline. Additions and subtractions are what get debated in Congress. In other words, budget debates are largely ceremonial, but there is room for tinkering around the edges of the budget for political purposes.
Even though budget debates have been reduced to ceremony, the budgets actually exist, and in theory they can be altered. In this new bill, the thing that passes is more like a set of suggestions, which will be filled out later with other bills passed by Congress and regulations created by the bureaucracy. In other words, the people endlessly yapping about threats to "our democracy" are about to kill the democratic process.
In principle, this is not a bad thing, as democracy is the most ridiculous form of government ever conceived. If taxing, spending, and war are no longer topics of debate, then most people can get back to their lives and forget about politics. After all, if it no longer matters which party wins, then there is no point in voting. Think about how much happier life would be if politics was removed from the public square.
The trouble, as was quickly discovered by the Russians after the revolution, is that putting unbalanced lunatics in charge never ends well. Having that ridiculous sissy Mark Milley in charge of the military, for example, ensures a future disaster. Putting the legions of innumerate simpletons who make up the federal bureaucracy in charge of the economy is probably worse than communism.
The absurdity of empowering the managerial class to take full control of the economy and culture will not stop the Death Eaters from carrying the day. That is the great lesson of Western liberalism. The Death Eaters always win. The NEPmen of the Soviet system learned this the hard way. The so-called moderates of the inner party will soon learn the same lesson, although in less colorful fashion.
The consolation, if there is any, is that it will prove that you cannot defeat radicalism with moderation. The only antidote to the egalitarian madness of liberal radicalism is an equally fanatical illiberal radicalism. If the West is ever going to awake from this egalitarian madness called liberal democracy, it will start with Occidental people waking up to the reality of their situation. Only then can we Build Back Better.

Keep in mind, the end-state is to turn all Red States blue. The handouts/freestuff funded by the 'Federal' gummit will not always be funded by the 'Federal' gummit, but must one day (2-4 years hence) be continued by the States.
This means higher taxes and regulations cast upon the people by the States. The "Free Stuff" must be continued or our elected thieves lose their positions of power whether they be dem or pub.

The United Kingdom’s then-foreign minister Dominic Raab condemned the second sentence, saying that Iran’s treatment of Zaghari-Ratcliffe amounted to torture and she was being held unlawfully.
Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been living with her parents in Tehran while her appeal was underway, barred from leaving the country.
