-Signs, Portents, and the Weather-
White House Details Plan To 'Quickly' Vaccinate 28 Million Children Age 5-11
[ZERO] The jab - which doesn't prevent transmission of Covid-19 will be available at pediatricians, local pharmacies, and possibly even at schools, according to the White House, which expects FDA authorization of the Pfizer shot for children - the least likely to fall seriously ill or die from the virus, in a matter of weeks, according to the Associated Press.
Federal regulators will meet over the next two weeks to weigh the benefits of giving shots to kids, after lengthy studies meant to ensure the safety of the vaccines.

Within hours of formal approval, expected after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory meeting scheduled for Nov. 2-3, doses will begin shipping to providers across the country, along with smaller needles necessary for injecting young kids, and within days will be ready to go into the arms of kids on a wide scale. -AP

According to the announcement, the White House has secured enough to supply more than 25,000 doses for pediatricians and primary care physicians who have already signed up to deliver the vaccine, while the country now has enough Pfizer vaccine to jab roughly 28 million kids who will soon be eligible, meaning this won't be a slow roll-out like we saw 10 months ago when doses and capacity issues meant adults had to wait.

Meanwhile, the White House is rolling out an 'advertising' campaign to convince parents and kids that the vaccine is safe and effective. According to the report, "the administration believes trusted messengers — educators, doctors, and community leaders — will be vital to encouraging vaccinations."

"COVID has also disrupted our kids lives. It’s made school harder, it’s disrupted their ability to see friends and family, it’s made youth sports more challenging," said surgeon general Dr. Vivek Murthy in a Wednesday statement to NBC. "Getting our kids vaccinated, we have the prospect of protecting them, but also getting all of those activities back that are so important to our children."

According to Murthy, the administration is leaving the question of mandates for school, local and state officials.

Posted by: CrazyFool || 10/21/2021 13:41 Comments || Top||

#16  Even Better.

OSHA has declared it does not want any documentation concerning side effects.

"DOL and OSHA, as well as other federal agencies, are working diligently to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations. OSHA does not wish to have any appearance of discouraging workers from receiving COVID-19 vaccination, and also does not wish to disincentivize employers' vaccination efforts. As a result, OSHA will not enforce 29 CFR 1904's recording requirements to require any employers to record worker side effects from COVID-19 vaccination at least through May 2022. We will reevaluate the agency’s position at that time to determine the best course of action moving forward."

The ruling some six months ago was that if your occupation required The Jab, side effects were considered job related injuries.

Government Corruption
Local Gov't Employees Took Hundreds of Hours of Paid Time Off To Elect Warnock, Docs Show
[Free Beacon] A pair of highly paid Atlanta government employees took hundreds of hours of paid time off to consult for Sen. Raphael Warnock's (D., Ga.) political campaign, a double dip that saw them rake in nearly $100,000.

According to campaign finance records, Phillana Williams and Erica Pines received a combined $97,500 from Warnock during the Georgia Senate runoff elections. Williams and Pines held six-figure salary jobs with the city of Atlanta throughout the election period, during which the operatives took a combined 297 hours in paid vacation time, payroll records provided by the city of Atlanta show.

The move allowed Williams and Pines to minimize their public service responsibilities as they raked in lucrative payments from taxpayers and the Warnock campaign. A veteran Georgia political operative told the Washington Free Beacon that while congressional staffers often take time off "to lend a hand in the closing weeks of their boss's campaign," that time is unpaid.

"The employee of an unrelated and nonpartisan public office taking paid leave to make a buck on Warnock's campaign is a bad look for everyone involved," the operative said.

Williams, Pines, and Warnock did not return requests for comment.

Williams, who still serves as director of marketing and strategy in Atlanta's Office of Entertainment, took 24 vacation leave days from Nov. 23, 2020, to Jan. 6, 2021—a total of 192 hours, City Records show. She went on to receive $62,500 from Warnock's campaign on Jan. 26 through her consulting company, the Phillana Factor. In addition to her work with Warnock, Williams took $65,000 in combined payments for consulting work on President Joe Biden and Sen. Jon Ossoff's (D., Ga.) campaigns.

From Oct. 24, 2020, to Jan. 15, 2021, meanwhile, Pines took 105 hours of "scheduled" paid time off from her role as Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) senior director. During that time, she received $35,000 from the Warnock campaign through Sweet Tea Consulting, an LLC that Pines did not establish with the state of Georgia until late June, according to Business Records.

The paid time off proved fruitful for Pines—she submitted her Letter Of Resignation to MARTA's chief of staff in April, writing "it is time for me to leap full time into political consulting."

Since most GA State Merit System employees get 2 weeks vacation a year.

NIH changes story, confirms it funded Wuhan experiment that made bat coronavirus more dangerous
[Just The News] Key scientist says admission shows that top administrators, including former NIH Director Francis Collins and NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, "lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public" in denying NIH funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan.

Two weeks after National Institutes of Health director Francis Collins announced his retirement, his agency has complicated congressional testimony by Collins and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci about alleged gain-of-function virus research sponsored by the U.S.

Both officials have denied approving grants for such research through the EcoHealth Alliance and Wuhan Institute of Virology, but a letter Wednesday from NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak to House Oversight Committee ranking Republican James Comer describes an unforeseen experimental result that calls the denials into question.

The letter shows that "NIH — and specifically, Collins, Fauci, and Tabak — lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public," Richard Ebright, lab director at Rutgers University's Waskman Institute of Microbiology, tweeted Wednesday night when sharing the letter. "Knowingly. Willfully. Brazenly."

#1  Camel's nose admission?

We're not there yet, but in the coming weeks and months I would not be at all surprised to learn that the Wuhan Lab effort was a fully funded, NIH-DARPA-USARIID-PLA collaborative effort. The construction of the building and BIO Safety Level 4 lab itself may have been US taxpayer funded.

#3  /\ Thanks for the links UB. Buried therein however, is the following revealing paragraph.

Between October 2009 and May 2019, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) provided $1.1 million to the U.S.-based EcoHealth Alliance for a sub-agreement with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, according to USAID. EcoHealth Alliance also received funding from the Department of Defense’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency that was subcontracted to the Wuhan lab, New York magazine reported. National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants to EcoHealth Alliance totaling $600,000 between 2014 and 2019 were subcontracted to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Key words and phrases "sub-agreement." French bricks, US dollars and technology. Further explanation of USAID's role and this Washington Post late arriving veiled cover, totally unnecessary.

Hat tip to the French for the early warning. Apparently, it was ignored.

Ashoori Loses Final Appeal to be Released from Iran Prison
[AAWSAT] Anoosheh Ashoori,
...in our archives as Anoush Ashoori...
. the British-Iranian dual national held in Evin prison in Tehran for more than four years, has had his request for conditional release and an appeal against his 10-year sentence thrown out, according to The Guardian.

Ashoori faces a conviction for spying on Iran, which he denies.

He was told that the court had rejected the appeal against his sentence some months earlier, but he was only informed at the weekend.

Ashoori’s daughter, Elika, said "the loss of his conditional release appeal means we have now exhausted all avenues and hopes of having our father back with us."

"The fate of our family is at the mercy of the UK government. They are the ones who will decide whether we see our dad in the near future or when he is an old man in his 70s having wasted a decade of his life in a dirty vermin-infected jail," Elika added.

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has written to the family to say the case is still being examined.

Ashoori’s wife, Sherry Izadi, said the Iranians have openly linked the release of British dual nationals to the payment of a £400m debt owed to Iran

Nikolas Cruz pleads guilty to 2018 Parkland school massacre
[IsraelTimes] Nikolas Cruz
...diagnoses of autism, depression and significant psychological problems, described as a troubled kid obsessed with guns — the police came to the family home frequently to deal with him — Mr. Cruz was adopted at birth. His adoptive father died when he was young, then his adoptive mother died a few months before he ran amok, so really he was a classic school shooter...
has pleaded guilty to murder in the 2018 high school massacre in Parkland, Florida, that left 17 dead.

Cruz, 23, entered his pleas in a courtroom hearing attended by a dozen relatives of victims, after answering a long list of questions from Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer aimed at confirming his mental competency. He was charged with 17 counts of murder and 17 counts of attempted first-degree murder for those maimed in the February 14, 2018, attack at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, located just outside Fort Lauderdale.

A penalty trial will determine whether Cruz will receive a sentence of death or life in prison without parole. Scherer plans to begin screening jurors next month in hopes testimony can begin in January.

As several parents shook their heads, Cruz apologized, saying, "I’m very sorry for what I did... I can’t live with myself sometimes." He also added that he wished it was up to the survivors to determine whether he lived or died.

Several parents and other relatives of victims broke down in tears while listening to the court proceedings via a Zoom call.

Report: Russia disbanding Syrian militia it formed, opening up Golan for Iran
[IsraelTimes] Russia is disbanding a militia it formed, funded, and armed in southern Syria over the past few years, Channel 12 reports, without citing sources.

The network’s Arab affairs analyst Ehud Ya’ari says the Syrian and Iranian regimes have long been unhappy with the force, which did not answer to either of them but rather to Moscow.

Ya’ari says Moscow has now stopped paying salaries to militia members and is demanding that they hand in their arms to the Syrian military.

"This opens a wide door for the Iranians, for Hezbollah, for Assad’s forces... to complete a takeover of all this region near the [Israeli] Golan."

L70 Anti Aircraft guns inducted by Indian Army along China border
I’m sure this is all very interesting and meaningful, though my takeaway is they’ve got some shiny new guns.
[OneIndia] In a major boost to its fire power, the Indian Army has deployed a sizeable number of upgraded L70 anti-aircraft guns in the high mountains along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh in addition to its existing M-777 howitzers and Swedish Bofors guns, officials said on Wednesday.

PTI reported that the deployment of the anti-aircraft guns having a range of 3.5 km in the treacherous region is part of a series of measures that the Army has taken to bolster its operational preparedness along the over 1,300-km LAC in eastern sector in the face of the 17-month standoff in eastern Ladakh.

#1  I _think_ the guns in question are 70 calibre 40mm guns, where the 40mm is the bore diameter and the 70 is the length of the barrel in multiples of 40mm. But I may be wrong.

(Hmm. 70*40 = 2800mm ~ 3 meters long.)

Japanese ghost ships that were sunk by the US during WWII at Battle of Iwo Jima are RAISED from the seabed by tremors from one of island's most active volcanoes
[MAIL] Two dozen ships that sank during the Battle of Iwo Jima, one of World War II's most epic battles and one of the bloodiest in U.S. Marines' history, have been raised from the bottom of the ocean after tremors at one of Japan's most dangerous volcanoes, Mount Suribachi.

Satellite photos from Japan's All Nippon News show the leftover hulks of 24 Japanese transport vessels that were captured by the U.S. Navy in the latter part of the war.

They were moved to the western part of Iwo Jima to form a port, as the island had no such facilities at the time.

The seabed has started to rise due to the seismic activity from Mount Suribachi, in particular on the western part of the island.

[An Nahar] Six members of a pro-government militia were killed Wednesday in an arms depot blast in the central Syrian province of Hama, a war monitor reported.

Seven other members of the National Defense Forces militia were maimed in the blast, the cause of which remains largely unclear, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
The pro-government Al-Watan daily reported the same death toll and said a "technical error" caused the explosion, without elaborating.

PJAK says 2 fighters reported dead in August are alive
[Rudaw] A Kurdish opposition party on Tuesday said two of its members it had declared dead in festivities in Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
this summer are in fact alive and one is being held by Iranian forces.

In August, the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) said two of its members were killed on July 27 in festivities with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Bukan, West Azerbaijan province. The two were identified as Idris Fiqhi, known by his nom de guerre Aryo Zal, and Muhsin Qadri, known as Shahin Agri.

After an investigation, PJAK announced that neither of them was killed. Fiqhi was "captured by the occupying forces of the Iranian regime" and Qadri has returned to the group "in perfect health," it stated.

PJAK apologized to the families and said its investigation is ongoing.

Qadri, from Bukan, joined PJAK in 2012 while Fiqhi, who is originally from Sanandaj, joined in 2017.

Established in 2003, PJAK is considered the Iranian wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), though PJAK claims it is linked only by shared ideology. Both groups use the Kurdistan Region as a safe haven from which to launch attacks on Ottoman Turkish and Iranian security forces.

PJAK has lost 300 fighters in festivities with Iranian security forces and shelling by both Iran and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

since the group's foundation, according to a written statement sent to Rudaw English by senior PJAK member Ahvand Chiako in July.

Germany's Seehofer sees key to Belarus migrant problem in Moscow
[DW] German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has said Russia is likely behind a wave of illegal immigrants colonists from Belarus. He also says the EU has much to do on migrant policy despite numbers being below those of 2015 and 2016.

Outgoing German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said on Wednesday that Berlin did not intend to introduce controls on the border to Poland despite a growing number of migrants colonists entering via Belarus, a phenomenon he ultimately blamed on Russia.
Yet despite Russian malignancy, Germany has firmly connected its energy supply to Russian goodwill. Clever.
WHAT DID SEEHOFER SAY?
Speaking at a presser after reporting to the Cabinet on the current migration situation, Seehofer said such a step would be "legally questionable."

Two killed in Turkish drone attack in Kobane: conflict monitor
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish drones on Wednesday targeted a vehicle in the Kurdish city of Kobane in northern Syria a conflict monitor said, reporting causalities.

The attack killed two military personnel who were in the car, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

Security forces have cordoned off the area preventing more people from being harmed, it added.

Hawar News Agency both reported the attack, not disclosing details.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
has not confirmed the offensive yet.

The assault follows Ankara’s fresh threats of military force against Kurdish forces in Syria. President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
has blamed the People’s Protection Units (YPG) for the death of two Ottoman Turkish coppers on the Syrian border last week.

"We have no patience left regarding some areas in Syria which are the source of attacks on our country," Erdogan told news hounds. "We are determined to eliminate the threats emanating from these places either together with the forces active there or with our own means."

The YPG is a Kurdish armed force in northeastern Syria. Ankara considers it to be the Syrian extension of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), named a terrorist group in Turkey. Ankara has used this alleged link as a pretext for multiple military operations across the border into Rojava.

In October 2019, Turkey launched an offensive against Kurdish forces in northeast Syria. Ceasefires were brokered by Moscow and Washington, but the truces are frequently violated.

Egyptian military consolidates grip on northern Sinai
[JPost] Egypt's military has secured large areas of the strategic stretch of land bordering Palestinian-run Gaza and Israel on one side and the Suez Canal on the other.

A string of watchtowers, checkpoints and army posts mark the northern edge of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula and troops patrol in armored vehicles along repaved roads.

Branch roads have been blocked off with piles of sand and some houses demolished to deprive militants of cover between Al Arish and Sheikh Zuweid, a focal point of the war between the Egyptian military and Islamist insurgents over the past decade.

The measures reflect a significant shift in the security situation in the past two years.

The military has secured large areas of the strategic stretch of land bordering Palestinian-run Gaza and Israel on one side and the Suez Canal on the other, and is no longer on the back foot, witnesses, security sources and analysts say.

Civilian life is still severely curtailed but the long-neglected region is changing as the state forges ahead with development schemes.

Many of the militants have been killed, fled or surrendered. As few as 200 are still active, down from 400 two years ago and 800 in 2017, according to three Egyptian security sources.
It’s nice to have relatively solid numbers.
In place of big attacks, they increasingly depend on snipers, homemade bombs and mortars.

On the outskirts of North Sinai's main city Al Arish, near where razed olive farms once stood, the government has built new apartment blocks.

A resident said people just sought a return to normality.

"We've had enough," said the man in his 50s, declining to be named. "We want to return to our houses or even the new ones they are building. We want to live in peace again."

Egyptian authorities did not respond to a request for comment on the situation in North Sinai.

The 'Equality' blues: Feminists cry foul when boys' netball team wins girls' tournament
[AMERICANTHINKER] The Queensland Suns won the Nissan State under-18 netball tournament last month, and the wrath of many, by easily defeating seven other teams. The issue? The Suns are sons — not daughters like the rest of their competitors.Netball is a variation on basketball played in many Commonwealth countries. The game also apparently doesn't have many male competitors in Australia, which is why the Suns were allowed to compete with the lasses. As Netball Queensland, the organization running the Nissan tournament, stated, it was choosing "inclusion over exclusion."

For a little background, this is an example of the chickens coming home to roost for the feminist clucking hens. We've long had a Title IX—based standard in the United States dictating "that members of the underrepresented gender ['sex' is the proper word, do note] be permitted to play on teams provided for the overrepresented gender or that separate teams in that sport be created for underrepresented gender," as the Women's Sports Foundation puts it.

From a practical standpoint, this initially meant that girls would be trying out for boys' teams, not vice versa, as decades ago there were few if any athletic endeavors in which females were numerically dominant and male opportunity was lacking. But this has changed, and feminists have soured on "equality" now that it less often means "special advantage."

Australia apparently also has a Title IX-like standard, hence the Suns' crushing of the daughters. Yet this thrashing inspired not only condemnation and vulgar comments directed at the boys from some parents during the final game (shameful), but also some caterwauling from a women's sports advocate, seen in the video below.

Perhaps, but my peers at that age would have been laugh smirking the whole time. But that was back when the catcher could talk shit and hopefully you didn't get a snicker from the ump.

Back in the day, the town had a really good softball team; so good, they were basically unchallenged in the league. Coach wanted to give them a test, so they challenged us boys to a softball scrimmage.

Obviously, none of us boys had ever played softball. Called the game after a couple innings - they hardly got on base and we hardly got out. I mean, legging out slappers to second bad.

Germany: Police seize weapons in raid on far-right group
What with one thing and another, the natives are getting restless.
[DW] Authorities said the suspects, allegedly linked to the far-right murderous Moslem group "Berserker-Clan," had talked about "an armed uprising" against German institutions.

Police said on Wednesday they have searched 14 premises across Germany that are allegedly linked to far-right murderous Moslem groups.

The premises searched are allegedly linked to 15 suspects believed to be members of a far-right murderous Moslem group that calls itself "Berserker Clan," police said.

Police raided buildings in Berlin, the northern Schleswig-Holstein state, the southwestern Baden-Wurttemberg state and the central state of Hesse.

Security forces seized firearms, ammunition and other weapons, as well as drugs and doping substances, according to the police.

'AN ARMED UPRISING'
Police and the public prosecutor's office accuse the 15 suspects of forming, or being members of, a criminal organization.

The far-right murderous Moslem group members had been communicating about the preparation for a so-called "Day X," authorities said. According to Sherlocks, this meant "an armed uprising" against German institutions.

Over the past year, Germany has seen a rise in murderous Moslem groups. A report by the German intelligence agency BfV showed that this year 40% of the 33,300 far-right Lions of Islam in the country were categorized as "violence-oriented," the highest proportion ever.

There had been a 10% rise in the number of far-right violent mostly peaceful crimes over the past year to 1,023, of which 842 were cases of physical assault, according to the BfV.
Now brace yourself for the fair and balanced reporting, dear Reader:
There was also a significant rise in the number of violent mostly peaceful far-left crimes, the BfV said.
Whoops! There it went — hope you didn’t blink or you missed it.

Six arrested in Turkey planning an attack in Chechnya
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Four Russians, a citizen of Ukraine and a citizen of Uzbekistan, were detained in Istanbul on charges of preparing an armed attack on oppositionists from Chechnya.

Six suspects in the preparation of armed attacks in Istanbul and Antalya were detained on 8 October.

Among them are Russian citizens Abdula Abdulaev, Ravshan Akhmedov, Bislan Rasaev and Aslanbek Abdulmuslimov, Ukrainian citizen Igor Efrim and Uzbek citizen Amir Yusupov, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported on October 20.

The court arrested them on charges of political and military espionage, and they are all detained in a prison in the Maltepe district of Istanbul province, the report said.

The "Caucasian Knot" wrote earlier that Khasan Khalitov in September accused the Chechen security officials of abducting his relatives living in the republic.

Khalitov also said that the Chechen authorities are behind the announcement of blood feud against him and several families in the republic. He called on the head of Chechnya to send a representative to Turkey to "sort it out."

In October, Chechen president Ramzen Kadyrov personally visited Turkey with his aide, Press Minister Akhmed Dudayev. The latter said that they "went along and across several Turkish cities," but did not meet any of the "shaitans" who declared their readiness to meet with the head of Chechnya.

In response, Khalitov reproached Kadyrov's associates for cowardice, suggesting that they deliberately avoided meeting with him. Kadyrov did not avoid meeting with his critics during a trip to Turkey, Dudayev reacted on 15 October.

Dudayev also  published a video message from  his brother Khasan Khalitov, where he in harsh terms condemns a relative for criticizing the leadership of the republic. None of the Chechen officials will enter into dialogue with the blogger, Khalitov's brother said, promising to rip out his tongue.

But instead of blaming themselves for their many failures, none of which was seen during the Trump administration, one White House official decided to mock consumers instead.

According to the New York Post:

WASHINGTON — Boiling down the concerns of millions of Americans about shortages of everything from consumer goods to food to holiday gifts from a supply chain crisis to its minimum effect, a White House official insisted Monday that the biggest impact will be a lack of choice.

Concerns have been raised by politicians on both sides of the aisle and businesses about the massive supply chain disruptions as the holiday season quickly approaches, with some experts suggesting consumers start shopping early due delays and lack of inventory.

But during a call with governors' representatives on Monday, Liz Reynolds, special assistant to the president for manufacturing and economic development, told the gubernatorial staffers, "You won't be able to get the jacket in 15 colors, but you will be able to get the jacket," a source on the National Governors Association call told The Post.

Europe
German officials seize 1.2 tons of banned stimulant khat
[DW] Bavarian customs officers have found a large shipment of khat bound for the US market. Smugglers had hoped to trick officials into thinking the narcotic plant leaves were an ordinary domestic adornment.

Munich airport officials on Tuesday said they had seized a bumper haul of illicit khat leaves that was on its way to the United States.

The 1.2 metric ton haul — a record amount for the airport — was headed to the US from Dubai, through Germany.

FALSE DECLARATION
Customs officials at the Munich airport discovered the leaves in a cargo shipment that had been declared as "table decoration."

German customs officials often inspect and, if necessary, seize shipments that are only in transit.

"This is the largest amount of khat seized since Munich Airport was established," said Thomas Meister, press front man for Munich's main customs office.

The office said "appropriate proceedings" had been initiated and the goods seized, with the investigation ongoing.

WHAT IS KHAT?
Khat is a regularly used stimulant in the Horn of Africa and parts of the Middle East.

It is chewed and then held in the cheek as the juices are extracted for its stimulant and euphoric effects.

However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
it can lead to psychological dependence, depression and paranoid delusions, and is a controlled or banned substance in most of Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and North America.

The leaf is particularly popular in the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i, Æthiopian and Somali cultures.

US officials say khat use there is most prevalent among immigrants colonists from those countries.

Government Corruption
Trump Organization under tax investigation — report
[DW] US media reports that Trump National Golf Club's finances are under scrutiny, with a probe launched into whether it has misled a valuation for tax purposes.

Former US President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
's family business, which is already under indictment, now faces another investigation, according to a report published in The New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

on Wednesday.

Citing sources with knowledge of the matter, the publication reported that finances at a golf course The Trump Organization owns are under scrutiny.

WHAT DID THE REPORT SAY?
The district attorney's office is understood to have subpoenaed financial records from the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester.

Records from the town of Ossining, which administers the areas taxes, have also been requested, the report states.

According to the publication, the investigation is being led by District Attorney Mimi E. Rocah,
...US prosecutor under President Obama. When she was running for West Chester DA as a Democrat her top issue was DONALD TRUMP!!! But really, she’s just a Hillary fangrrrl...
and centers around whether Trump's company submitted misleading valuations of the golf course, in order to benefit from a lower tax threshold.

The Trump Organization said in a statement that the investigation was politically motivated and labeled it a witch hunt.

"The suggestion that anything was inappropriate is completely false and incredibly irresponsible," the statement said. "The witch hunt continues."

This is not the first criminal probe to be launched against Trump's family business.

In July, the Trump Organization, which is an unlisted family holding company that owns golf clubs, hotels and luxury properties, was charged with tax crimes, along with Trump Payroll Corporation and its Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg, in a tax avoidance scheme.

According to the indictment from 2005 through this year, Weisselberg and the Trump Organization cheated the state and city out of taxes by conspiring to pay senior executives "off the books."

TRUMP'S TAX CONUNDRUM
While Trump himself was not implicated in that indictment, the former president has been in a long-running battle to prevent handing over his tax returns and financial records to prosecutors.

In July, the Justice Department ordered the Internal Revenue Service (IRS
...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies...
) to hand his tax records over to Congress.

The New York Times reported in September 2020 that Trump paid just $750 (€644) in federal income taxes in 2016, the year he ran for president, and in 2017, his first year in the White House.

He also paid no federal income taxes in 10 out of 15 years because he reported losing more money than he made, the report said.
Real estate investments are legally structured to lose money on paper due to depreciation of the improvements that will be recaptured as taxable profits when the property is sold. This is normal, and the reason why doctors invest in strip shopping malls,
At the time, Trump dismissed the accusations as "totally fake news."
Not so much fake as displaying an embarrassing level of parochial ignorance on the part of the journalists and those who believed them.

Prosecutors investigate Romanov family role in USSR genocide during WWII
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] It is important not to forget that among the allies of the Nazis in the genocide of the peoples of the USSR there were also representatives of the Russian emigration, noted the observer of IA REGNUM, Mikhail Demurin on Wednesday, October 20.

Earlier, RIA Novosti, citing an official representative of the Prosecutor General's Office, reported that the Russian side had sent requests for legal assistance in the investigation of the genocide of the peoples of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War to the competent authorities of Germany, Canada, Latvia, Poland, the United States and Estonia. Information has already been received on some of the requests.

"Speaking about the genocide of the peoples of the USSR by the Nazis and their allies, it is important to never forget that among these allies, among those who supported the very barbaric 'Drang nach Osten' against our Motherland, there were also representatives of the Russian emigration. They, including the elite of the Romanov family and many ROCOR clerics, are also involved in the policy of genocide of our compatriots carried out by the Nazis.

Specific war crimes and crimes against humanity, which were investigated immediately after that war and are being investigated today, became possible only due to the general misanthropic attitude of the German authorities of that time for all who participated in the invasion supported by the majority of the leaders of the Russian emigration, in military, punitive or political actions on the territory of the USSR. Collaborators will never wash this stain off!" Mikhail Demurin noted.

On October 27, 2020, the Soletsky District Court of the Novgorod Region recognized the mass murder of peaceful Soviet people by the German invaders and their accomplices in the village of Zhestyanaya Gorka in 1942 as genocide.

More than 2,500 Soviet citizens from among the civilian population and prisoners of war of the Red Army became victims of the massacres. This is the first genocide case in the history of Russia.
The Holodomor in the Ukraine being... something else, it appears.
The application was sent to the court by the prosecutor's office of the Novgorod region on behalf of the General Prosecutor's Office.

Former soldiers of Nazi Germany are being tested for involvement in the genocide of the peoples of the USSR

By Lydia Misnik

[Gazeta] Former servicemen of Nazi Germany, located in different countries of the world, will be checked for involvement in the genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War, the official representative of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia Andrei Ivanov told RIA Novosti.

He drew attention to the fact that instructions to deliberately destroy the peaceful Soviet population were revealed in federal, regional and local archives. In addition, eyewitnesses testify to these crimes.

Some states have already provided the department with the information it needs to conduct an investigation.

Russia has previously prepared a bill on consolidating the concepts of 'Nazism,' 'Fascism' and 'genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union,' which is designed to recognize "the inviolability of the principles of international law recognized by the charter of the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal."

The day before, it was reported that the 96-year-old former secretary of a concentration camp, who was trying to escape, was brought by ambulance to court in Germany.

Related: from the VKontakte wall of the Mius Front Association, which is involved in excavations in and around the Mius front in WWII, near the Mius River in Lugansk. The interviewee is identified as Colonel Andrey Kudryakov, who apparently works on the dig.

The entry features a translatable video.

Premiere! The film is about all of us, about the people of the search. Although it is called "Search Engine Kudryakov", it talks about the phenomenon of searching for the missing.

The All-Russian project "People" drew attention to us and they managed to make the film modern, bright and interesting. At the heart of the filming of Kudryakov's interview to a group of journalists, as well as archival video and photo materials of the Mius Front Association, on which many may recognize themselves.

From the description of the video:
Andrey Kudryakov in our October issue. For the head of Mius Front, a profession that does not exist has become a matter of life. In many countries, the army is engaged in the search for the remains of soldiers.

We have volunteers. Moreover, the first search engines were veterans. Mius Front is the place of the hardest battles. Almost 300 km of trenches.

According to some estimates, almost 800 thousand Red Army soldiers perished in these steppes.

For two decades Kudryakov and his comrades have been working at the Mius Front. And not only there. What makes people leave a quiet life, and go to the Memory Watch? What did the search engines find in the Sal'sk death pit? How does a rookie feel when raising his first soldier? And what does Kudryakov himself feel when he manages to return the name of the missing war and bury a soldier of the Great Patriotic War with honors? More about this in our new issue.

Al-Shabaab militants raid Kenya's Wajir country, kill one local
[Garowe] Suspected al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
gunnies on Tuesday raided Konton village in Wajir East, it has now emerged, with the attack becoming the first on Kenyan soil in as many months. The gunnies have not attacked the country in recent weeks.

Reports from Konton village in Wajir indicate that the gunnies stormed a home in the village killing one local from fleeing the scene. Authorities are yet to establish the motive behind the gruesome murder.

The krazed killers, whose number could not be determined at that time, are said to have disappeared into thickets after committing the murder. No coppers or members of the Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] were at the scene at the time of the attack.

Konton location shares a common border with Somalia and the gunnies have been taking advantage of proximity to the Horn of Africa nation to attack innocent civilians, members of security forces, and at times, senior government officials.

In 2019, at least 12 Administration Police officers were killed by the al-Shabaab gunnies within the vicinity of Konton village. The attack on the was one of the worst targeting security forces within the Republic of Kenya. Reports suggested that out of 11 Administration Police officers in the vehicle, only one survived the attacks.

The officers were on normal patrol between Khorof Harar and Konton village along the Kenya-Somalia border when their vehicle ran over the improvised bomb [IED]. Other sources indicate the officers were in pursuit of al-Shabaab forces of Evil who had stormed Konton center the previous day.

The targets of the attack, witnesses said, were the National Police Reservists based in the center. "The NPRs fought the Al-Shabaab krazed killers, while the locals fled the town center," a witness said.

The police reservists were however overpowered by the forces of Evil after they ran out of ammunition. It is feared that three reservists were kidnapped by the krazed killers.

In 2018, the gunnies also kidnapped two herders in Konton village only to release them months later following intervention by the elders from both Kenya and Somalia. Northeastern Kenya is prone to al-Shabaab raids due to its proximity to the Horn of Africa nation.

12,000 Afghans in U.S. Now with No ID Whatsoever
[FRONTPAGEMAG] First there was the multifaceted disaster of the way Biden’s handlers’ woke military mishandled the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Now another Biden catastrophe is in the offing, but Team Biden is working hard to cover it up. "You know what they’re hiding?" asked Jonathan Wilcox, a front man for Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA). "The latest Afghanistan disaster from the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us...
. The White House is turning the page and closing the door." Wilcox said this after a bipartisan delegation from the House, including some members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was denied admission to Camp As Sayliyah, a U.S.-run military facility in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
where over two thousand America-bound Afghan evacuees are currently being housed. The reason why became clear in the briefing the politicians received before they were turned away.

What are they hiding now? We can’t be sure, but it is reasonable to conclude that if everything were working like clockwork at Camp As Sayliyah, with the cheerful efficiency for which the Biden people have become renowned (yes, kids, I’m being sarcastic), then there would have been no problem with letting the politicians in to behold the glory of The Adults being back in charge.

Instead, Issa said that officials of Biden’s woke military "never let us meet with the 2,300 remaining America-bound refugees, maybe some of whom are American citizens and others who are green card holders." Issa had his own theory about why Biden’s handlers are taking a page out of the Nixon playbook and stonewalling it on this one: "We think the number one classified piece that they were protecting is called embarrassment. Many of these people have stories of the difficulty getting out, the lack of cooperation or help by the State Department, and now they find themselves being artificially held longer in some cases. We think it’s just that they don’t want people telling their stories."

That could be it. Issa’s staff, according to the Washington Free Beacon, "spent weeks petitioning the Department of Defense for access to these Afghan refugees on behalf of the delegation," but it was still no dice Thursday when they arrived at Doha’s Al Udeid Air Base "for a scheduled briefing on the American evacuation effort."

Philippines protests as its patrol boats are threatened by Beijing in South China Sea
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Philippines has issued a diplomatic protest over Chinese vessels challenging its ships patrolling the South China Sea with sirens, horns, and radio communications, its foreign ministry said on Wednesday.

Tensions between Manila and Beijing have been simmering for years in the strategic waterway where both countries have territorial claims.

"These provocative acts threaten the peace, good order, and security of the South China Sea and run contrary to China’s obligations under international law," the foreign ministry said on Twitter.

The ministry said on Wednesday more than 200 such challenges took place while the Philippines was conducting routine patrols over and around its territory and maritime zones. It did not specify over what time period the challenges took place.

The Chinese embassy in Manila did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside of business hours.

China claims illusory sovereignty over vast swathes of the South China Sea, but Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam also have lodged competing claims for some or all of the islands.

In 2016, an international tribunal invalidated China’s expansive claim in the strategic waterway where about $3 trillion worth of ship-borne trade passes annually.

But President Rodrigo Duterte shelved the favorable ruling and pursued a rapprochement with Beijing in exchange for pledges of billions of dollars of loans, aid and investment, much of which have yet to materialize.

Since Duterte took office in June 2016, the Philippines has filed more than 80 diplomatic protests against China.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Teen shot Tuesday was 54th child shot in Minneapolis this year
[KSTP] Tuesday night's shooting in Minneapolis left a 15-year-old in critical condition and marked the 54th person younger than 18 to be shot in the city in 2021.

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and had surgery Tuesday night.

The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) says the teen was shot near the intersection of 40th Street East and Columbus Avenue at around 6:45 p.m.

That intersection is next to Phelps Park, and the Minneapolis Park Police Department (MPPD) says a youth football game was just wrapping up there when the teen was shot.

"The impacts of violence on our community members, and our park users, are always concerning and they're always tragic," MPPD Chief Jason Ohotto said.

Ohotto's department isn't in charge of the shooting investigation – that is led by MPD – but said a park police officer was at the game. He said the football team coaches had asked for the officer's presence.

"[The officer] arrived on scene within seconds," Ohotto said about his officer responding to the shots fired. "[He] was able to provide first aid that likely contributed to the saving of life."

Of the 54 people younger than 18 to be shot in Minneapolis this year, MPD says seven of those young boys and girls have died.

"That is exceptionally frustrating that people are losing their lives losing [and] their feeling of safety," Celia Mccoy, who lives near Phelps Park, said.

"It feels like there's nothing that we as community members, and as citizens of the city of Minneapolis, can do," Mccoy added. "I don't know what that solution is – it's not my job to figure out that solution. My job is to vote for people who can come up with that solution."

Minneapolis City Council member Andrea Jenkins sent the following statement to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS regarding Tuesday night's shooting:

"There is simply too much access to guns for very young people in our communities. My heart goes out to the young victim and his family. We as city leaders must create more opportunities for young people to engage in positive, productive afterschool activities. Parents must take more responsibility for their young people who are perpetrating much of this violence, destroying and disrupting their own lives before they really get started. This must be an entire community effort, we cannot rely on police alone. I will continue working with groups like Summit OIC, Sabathani Community Center, PPL, Renewable Energy Partners and anyone else to create job training programs and job opportunities as well as mentoring and support programs in South Minneapolis."

A representative with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS there aren't any plans to put youth activities on hold following the shooting.

No one has been arrested in the case at this time.

#1  "There is simply too much access to guns for very young people in our communities. "

And too many very young people who believe that firepower is the answer to interpersonal disagreements. But we digress...

"My heart goes out to the young victim and his family. We as city leaders must create more opportunities for young people to engage in positive, productive afterschool activities."

And if any of them WENT to school, that might have some vague, chimerical hope of relevance. But do go on.

"Parents must take more responsibility for their young people who are perpetrating much of this violence, destroying and disrupting their own lives before they really get started. This must be an entire community effort, we cannot rely on police alone."

Parents who are too stoned, drunk, absent, abusive, uncaring, or any combination of the above. Yeah, that's the ticket.

"I will continue working with groups like Summit OIC,

A real vocational school? How the hell did THAT get in there?

"Sabathani Community Center, "

Looks to be well meaning folks who try but are shoveling water off the beach.

"PPL,"

No idea.

"Renewable Energy Partners,"

Unless you've got the little angels polishing windmills and solar panels, there may not be much they can do. On the other hand, it's a great tax break.

"and anyone else to create job training programs and job opportunities as well as mentoring and support programs in South Minneapolis."

Angel of Death? Or perhaps, as appropriate for a convert to Islam, Inshallah, as a sentiment all pious Moslems should submit to.

The thing about having a rapid turnover in the upper levels of any organization, especially when resulting from rapid death in office rather than retirement, is the huge amount of institutional knowledge that evaporates, until nobody knows what projects are planned, what any of the computer passwords are... nor even where the spare executive bathroom key is kept.

This, my dear Mr. McCoy, is a good part of the reason why ambitious jihadis chose suddenly to run off to ISIS and other local organizations instead of hieing themselves off to the training camps on both sides of the Af-Pak border as they’d done so avidly in the first decade of the millennium.

Likely US airstrikes on Iranian-linked positions in eastern Syria soon
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Courtesy of Frank G:
Drone attack targeting US forces reported in Syria

[JPost] While pro-Iranian militias in Iraq have increasingly used drones, the use of drones in Syria against US forces is relatively rare.

An attack aimed at Tanf, a lonely outpost in Syria near the Jordanian and Iraqi border, was reported on Wednesday night. There were no casualties, according to a statement by US officials. According to BBC correspondent Nafiseh Kohnavard, there was a "drone attack on US troops in Al Tanf, Syria." She noted that local forces said the drone came from the Iraq-Syria border area. Other reports online said the attack may have been done with rockets, not drones, though US officials confirmed it was a drone attack. An inquiry to the US-led Coalition was sent to confirm the incident, but no reply was heard as of press time.

Pro-Iranian groups have increasingly used drones to target US forces in Iraq— including at the airport in Erbil— as well as Al-Asad base and US forces based in Syria. The drones were likely manufactured in Iran and trafficked to Iraq, though some of them may also be constructed in Iraq. Iran has exported drone blueprints and technology to Yemen, Gaza, Lebanon, and to pro-Iranian groups in Syria and Iraq. An Iranian drone flown from Syria targeted Israel in February 2018, and in May 2021 a drone flown from Iraq or Syria also flew into Israeli airspace. In both cases, Israel shot them down. Hamas also used Iranian-style drones in the conflict in May.

Iran has trained drone operators across the region at a base called Kashan. Israel revealed information about this base in September 2021. An Iranian drone was also used to target a tanker off the coast of Yemen and Oman in July—two crewmembers on the tanker were killed. Iran also targeted Saudi Arabia in September 2019 with drones and cruise missiles.

The attack on Tanf is an escalation. While pro-Iranian militias in Iraq have increasingly used drones, the use of drones in Syria against US forces is relatively rare. These drones tend to be "kamikaze" drones, meaning they fly into their target. In June 2017, the US downed an Iranian drone near Tanf. An Iranian-made drone also targeted a US-led Coalition patrol in June 2017 in the same area.

Grenade Targets Taliban Vehicle in Afghan Capital
Nothing about this in Khaama Press or Tolo News.
[AnNahar] A grenade attack on a Taliban
...Arabic for students...
vehicle maimed two fighters and four nearby school children in Kabul on Wednesday, officials said.

A probe has been launched to "find the perpetrators", Taliban interior ministry front man Qari Sayed Khosti told AFP, adding two soldiers were maimed after "a grenade was thrown at a mujahideen vehicle in Deh Mazang".

Another official said: "Our initial information shows four school students maimed."

The explosion happened just before 8 am (0330 GMT) during rush hour in the Deh Mazang district in the west of Kabul, a witness told AFP.

"I was on my way to work, it was 7.55 am and I heard this very big explosion on the road. I managed to escape," said Amin Amani.

"I saw a lot of smoke in the mirror of the car and I saw people running," the 35-year-old translator said.

Images shared on social media showed plumes of smoke and dust rising into the air on the streets of the capital.

Broken glass could be seen at the scene of the blast as security forces stood guard, ushering bystanders away as traffic resumed on the surrounding roads.

'250' Daesh Members Arrested in 1 Month: Officials
[ToloNews] More than 250 fighters affiliated with ISIS were arrested within the past month, officials said, adding that many of them are the prisoners who had fled from the prisons across the country.

"250 individuals affiliated with ISIS have been arrested. They were those who fled from the prisons," he said. "Some of their plans were to carry out blasts but the plans failed, tens of their attacks were thwarted."

ISIS took responsibility for the two recent deadly attacks, one in the northern province of Kunduz and the other in the southern province of Kandahar.

Dozens of non-combatants were killed and a great number of them received injuries.

"The intelligence agency of Afghanistan should detect the sanctuaries and supporters of this group and eliminate them, otherwise it will be a great danger for Afghanistan in the future," said Sadiq Shinwari, a former member of the military.

The US defense secretary Llyod Austin said that the US will pursue efforts to counter the ISIS group.

"No doubt we'll talk about, I hope we'll talk about NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
's role post-Afghanistan and some of the lessons learned from Afghanistan. And we'll also hopefully have an ability to talk about, or an opportunity to talk about, our current counter-ISIS efforts and discuss some things with our allies that are involved in that coalition," he added.

"If a serious move was not made against ISIS and it was not eliminated, it would pave the ground to harm many countries and the people in the region, and would commit crimes," said Iran's president Ebrahim Raisi.

The countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, led by Russia, carried out military exercises in the vicinity of the border between Afghanistan-Tajikistan.

Government Corruption
USS Bonhomme Richard Fire: A Long Chain of Failures...
[USNI News] A cascade of failures — from a junior enlisted sailor not recognizing a fire at the end of their duty watch to fundamental problems with how the U.S. Navy trains sailors to fight fires in shipyards — are responsible for the five-day blaze that cost the service an amphibious warship, according to an investigation into the July 2020 USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6) fire reviewed by USNI News.

The investigation into the fire aboard Bonhomme Richard, overseen by former U.S. 3rd Fleet commander Vice Adm. Scott Conn, found that the two-year-long $249 million maintenance period rendered the ship’s crew unprepared to fight the fire the service says was set by a crew member.

"Although the fire was started by an act of arson, the ship was lost due to an inability to extinguish the fire," Conn wrote in his investigation, which was completed in April and reviewed by USNI News this week.

"In the 19 months executing the ship’s maintenance availability, repeated failures allowed for the accumulation of significant risk and an inadequately prepared crew, which led to an ineffective fire response."

Beyond the ship, Conn concluded that training and oversight failures throughout the fleet — from Naval Sea Systems Command, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Naval Surface Force Pacific Fleet and several other commands — contributed to the loss of the $2 billion warship. Conn singled out 36 individuals, including five admirals, who were responsible for the loss of the ship due to either their actions on July 12 or lack of oversight leading up to the alleged arson.

"The training and readiness of the ship’s crew were deficient. They were unprepared to respond. Integration between the ship and supporting shore-based firefighting organizations was inadequate," wrote Pacific Fleet commander Adm. Samuel Paparo in his Aug. 3 endorsement of the investigation.

"There was an absence of effective oversight that should have identified the accumulated risk, and taken independent action to ensure readiness to fight a fire. Common to the failures evident in each of these broad categories was a lack of familiarity with requirements and procedural noncompliance at all levels of command."

#4  Just this morning I finished reading Ian Toll's 'Six Frigates: the Epic History of the Founding of the U. S. Navy.' I really learned a lot about a most important and least taught period of our history - the Quasi-war with France, the Barbary pirate campaign, the War of 1812: 'Old Ironsides' is a lot more significant than just an old ship on display, but we don't even learn the significance when we read the exhibits, which is sad.

#5  It's hard to imagine how the USN is going to win any engagements "West of Wake" when you see top-down pooch-screwing like this.

Different ship, different circumstances, but when the terrible fire broke on on the Forrestal in 1967, Chief Gerald Farrier was fighting the fire 54 seconds after it broke out. He lost his life and didn't stop the fire, but he knew his duty and did it without hesitation.
