MG Jack Singlaub hits a milestone
Special Forces Chapter 78 member John Styker Meyer visits with Jack Singlaub for his 100th birthday, 10 July 2021.

[ARSOF ICONS] John K. Singlaub was recruited by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) in November 1943. As part of JEDBURGH Team JAMES, he jumped into France on 11 August 1944 to arm and direct the French resistance. Sent to China, as the commander of the PIGEON Mission, he jumped onto Hainan Island on 27 August 1945 to rescue Dutch and Australian Prisoners of War. As one of a handful of Special Operations Branch personnel retained the Strategic Services Unit (successor to the OSS), Singlaub stayed in China to report on the Civil War. Singlaub was again involved in special operations when he was an instructor at Fort Benning, Georgia and helped to establish the Ranger Training Center in 1950. He then had two tours in Korea, including one with the Central Intelligence Agency’s Joint Advisory Commission, Korea (JACK). Singlaub returned to special operations in from 1966-1968, when he commanded a joint unconventional warfare command, the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam, Studies and Observation Group (MACV-SOG). Retiring in 1978, Major General Singlaub has remained active in the Special Operations community and was recognized with the United States Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) Bull Simons award in 2011.

Government Corruption
The Insanity Accelerates
Los Angeles ports will fine cargo ships waiting to unload their goods in an attempt to relieve congestion that is as desperate as it is gobsmackingly stupid.
It’s a fine so pointless and wrong that, of course, Presidentish Joe Biden has chimed in with his support for it.
According to CNBC, the White House is "hopeful" that fines will "ease the intensifying logjam of cargo ships" waiting to unload at Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles. Together, the two account for 40% of the country’s seaborne imports.
Carriers will have to pay "$100 per day for each container lingering past a given timeline" starting on the first of the month. Containers moved by truck will have nine days before they’ll start paying, and containers moved by rail will have just three days.
To show you just how wrong that is, allow me to use a down-home example.
My sons, ages 15 and 11, like to play a familiar game. The older, bigger one will hold the younger, shorter one at arm’s length by his forehead. The shorter one will then try to hit the taller one — to no avail because his shorter arms just can’t get there.
Now imagine that the older boy fined the younger one $100 for each missed punch because that’s pretty much what Los Angeles ports are doing to carriers.

Facebook KNEW that women were being trafficked from Asia for sex work in US massage parlors but did little to stop it, investigators say
  • David Williams, plead guilty in November 2019 to trafficking women from Asia to the United States for sex work in Pennsylvania, Florida and Virginia

  • Facebook confirmed it was aware of the trafficking ring in a 2019 internal report where they boasted how it had 'disrupted' the criminal network

  • Yet, court documents made no note of any Facebook investigation or evidence the tech firm provided to the FBI or authorities

  • People closely involved with the criminal investigation also said they had no memory of Facebook involvement or findings in the case

  • Facebook insist they did assist police, but spokesman Andy Stone has not provided any details of the information given

  • In 2018 a new law was enacted to make tech companies civilly and criminally liable if they do not act to stop sex trafficking on their platforms

  • The latest revelations are part of an intense focus on Mark Zuckerberg's firm, thanks to whistleblower Frances Haugen

  • Earlier on Wednesday it emerged that Facebook did little to prevent Donald Trump whipping up partisan fury after riots following George Floyd's death

#2  Spengler opined the following before this was news:
Nonetheless, a war over Taiwan remains a significant risk during the next several years. If Washington stations troops on the island, as former National Security Adviser John Bolton urges, or takes other steps to establish Taiwan’s sovereignty, China probably will seize the island.

What might ensue is depicted in the novel 2034 by former Pacific Command chief John Stavridis and Elliot Ackerman: A nuclear exchange that erases a few Chinese and American cities with no victor.

#4  Do the US troops serve a a tripwire to deter China, or does their presence up the ante and force China to go big when they make their move?

The best thing for China is to win Taiwan without fighting through territorial salami-slicing, buying up politicians, and military threats. If things do jump off, keeping the US out of the game would be a huge help.

It may be that the Chinese do the math and decide that their advantage will never be greater, so let's do it now. Just like Japan back in the 1940s. Given the current Chinese focus on unrestricted war against both civilian and military targets, I'd expect a lot of damage to CONUS in order to keep us busy at home and out of the South China Sea. Hey, didn't someone test a port-destroying weapon the other day?

Iraq
How UNSCOM found and destroyed Iraq's biological weapons
Forwarded from a former colleague:

Editor’s note: Kings College London and the UN’s Office for Disarmament Affairs hosted a webinar in April to mark the 30th anniversary of the founding of the UN Special Commission (UNSCOM), which oversaw destruction of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction after the Persian Gulf War. What follows is an edited transcript of that event. The July issue of the Bulletin’s bimonthly magazine features an array of essays and recollections from officials and inspectors involved in the disarmament of Iraq. It can be found here.

Government Corruption
Why Democrats' Scheme to Tax Unrealized Capital Gains Should Terrify You
[American Thinker] Our current secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, is busy trying to find a way to tax wealth without calling it taxing wealth. She has eyes on taxing unrealized capital gains. What this means simply is taxing people for money they have not earned or received. That's it in a nutshell. That definition should leave even those who have never had a course in accounting or finance shaken.

Not only is Janet Yellen considering this, but the Democrat party is on board as well. Democrats claim that it is needed in order to pay for their agenda. You know — the one that President Biden says pays for itself. The idea of taxing you for the income you have not made is also a policy speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi proposes. Apparently, there is some confusion here.

Looking at this from my point of view, I recalled a picture of Casey Stengel, nicknamed "the ol' Professor," when he was the manager of the New York Mets in 1962 — a team considered the worst team to ever play in the major leagues. He had his hat off and scratched his head with the caption: "Can't anybody here play this game?"

Think about how absurd this idea is. Imagine if an Internal Revenue Agent showed up at your house and said, we decided that you have to pay tax on the money you never earned. Aside from how insane that sounds on the surface, one need only ask: "If I didn't receive or earn that money, with what do you expect me to pay the tax?" That, in a nutshell, is the entire problem.

This is not the first time the government and corporate officers have made this insane mistake. Our "smartest guys in the room" types keep proving they are anything but. There are more than enough lessons from history that show for a fact how ridiculous this idea is.

I recall a lesson from my professor in Intermediate Accounting. He described a time when corporate executives told accountants they were doing their jobs wrong. One of the examples he gave was that management would tell the accountants we have assets — our buildings, for example — that are worth more than what you are showing on our balance sheet. The accountants told them, that is because we adhere to the historical cost principle of accounting. That principle is related to the conservative principle of accounting — which, incidentally, has nothing to do with a political viewpoint.

The professor went on to explain by asking the class: if you increase the value of an asset on the balance sheet by debiting that asset, where does the offsetting credit go? This is based on the double-entry system of accounting. There is only one place it could go: retained earnings. REMEMBER THE FLAT TAX PLAN?

Putting an end to all the Federal Hidden Taxes on top of the Income Tax.

Pass a Constitutional amendment that:
Establishes a National Flat Tax, applied to ALL purchased items except food and medical related care and med's.

A Tax that treats and taxes everyone equally, including Illegals and the wealthy.

Eliminate the Federal Income Tax, which is bloated with loop holes and gaps for higher income certain special people and groups.

Limits future congressional spending to the previously years collected revenues, MINUS 10% to pay off the Nation Debt. Except in case of National Disaster or US Declared War caused by being attacked by another nation.

Once the National debt is paid off, then the 10% is paid into an emergency fund in case of National Disaster or Declared War until it reaches 2 times the average tax revenue collected over the last 5 years adjusted for officially declared inflation or deflation each year.

Forbidding Congress from borrowing against, or being used in any way or manner in less of a National Disaster or Declared War.

FDA Committee Members Reviewing Pfizer Vaccine For Children Have Worked For Pfizer, Have Big Pfizer Connections
[National File] The FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee is holding a virtual meeting Tuesday October 26 to discuss authorizing a Pfizer-BioNTech Coronavirus vaccine for children between the ages of 5 to 11 years old.
This committee has a lot of sway with the FDA and their findings will be relevant, considering the Biden administration is getting ready to ship vaccines to elementary schools and California has already mandated the vaccine for schoolchildren pending federal authorization.

But the meeting roster shows that numerous members of the committee and temporary voting members have worked for Pfizer or have major connections to Pfizer.

Members include a former vice president of Pfizer Vaccines, a recent Pfizer consultant, a recent Pfizer research grant recipient, a man who mentored a current top Pfizer vaccine executive, a man who runs a center that gives out Pfizer vaccines, the chair of a Pfizer data group, a guy who was proudly photographed taking a Pfizer vaccine, and numerous people who are already on the record supporting Coronavirus vaccines for children. Meanwhile, recent FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb is on Pfizer’s board of directors.

HERE’S THE MEETING ROSTER: Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee October 26, 2021 Meeting Draft Roster.

Kentucky principal investigated after getting lap dance at homecoming event
[NYP] A Kentucky school district is investigating after a teenage boy gave lap dances to his high school principal and other staff members during a homecoming event.

Other provocative photos of spirit events at Hazard High School posted on social media showed teen girls parading around the gym dressed as Hooters waitresses and boys being paddled, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

Hazard Independent Superintendent Sondra Combs told the paper Wednesday that the incidents are under investigation.

The most eyebrow-raising pics show a teen dancing seductively near Donald "Happy" Mobelini, who is both principal of Hazard High School and the city’s mayor.

The administrator is standing with a big grin on his face, while the boy — clad in a black dress — bends over in front of him, photos show. The same teen is also pictured with the dress pulled down below his stomach, as he danced shirtless for other adults in a gym.

We have worked closely with the Americans for many decades and we have never seen such a shambles of incompetent administration, diplomatic incoherence, and complete military ineptitude as we have seen in these nine months.

"We were startled by Trump, but he clearly knew what he was doing, whatever we or anyone else thought about it. This is just a disintegration of the authority of a great nation for no apparent reason.”

#8  Long post but worth it -- more from Conrad Black's report from Europe, "AMERICA GONE MAD":

Various well-informed British and Europeans told me that they found a variety of utterances by Joe Biden and his spokespeople grievously inappropriate or absurd. Most upsetting were ...

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ po-faced assurance that “the border is closed” while on the other half of the split-screen people were simultaneously wading or walking into the country illegally;

climate czar John Kerry importuning the Chinese government to decelerate their pell-mell commissioning of new coal-fired power plants;

Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s fatuous lamentation about the “lack of diversity” in the new Taliban government in Afghanistan;

and White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s assertion that the administration “welcomed the competition” of Russia’s hypersonic nuclear-tipped missiles.

The Internet assures a very widespread transmission of such howlers and the next time Biden or Blinken lay the egg about America being “back” and trusted, the Washington Post should dedicate its entire front page to Pinocchio.

... The thought of the most successful alliance in history being “led” for three more years by an American president whose round-the-clock gaffes are not protected in Europe as Biden is in the United States by a totalitarian social media platform cartel and terminally biased national political media is a subject of profound and general disconcertion.

Despite my substantial agreement with their concerns, I vigorously attempted to defend the American interest. The best I could do was to remind them that the United States was the most successful country in history and always worked out its problems and that even after three more years of this ramshackle defeatism, a nation as great as America could quickly be restored to its traditional confidence and solidity. I was not entirely persuasive: my knowledgeable British and European friends not only do not think America is back, they think it has gone mad.

Economy
68% Say Economy Is Getting Worse as Confidence Collapse Continues
[Breitbart] Confidence in the U.S. economy continues to weaken despite the Biden administration’s insistence that the economy is doing great.

The share of Americans saying the economy is getting worse climbed from 63 percent in September to 68 percent in October, Gallup reported Wednesday.

This was not a case of partisan politics. Democrats and Republican views of the economy were essentially unchanged in October, according to Gallup. What happened was the percentage of independents who say economic conditions are getting worse soared nine points from 63 percent to 72 percent.

The Economic Confidence Index fell to negative 25 in October, the lowest reading since negative 33 in April 2020 and negative 28 the following month. Gallup’s index has a theoretical high score of +100, if everyone says the economy is excellent or good, and a possible low score of -100, if everyone says the economy is poor and getting worse.

Before the eruption of pandemic in the U.S., confidence was high. The Gallup index registered +41 in February 2020, the best reading since 2000. It collapsed in March and hit the nadir of -33 in April. Since then, confidence has fluctuated but has never risen above the +2 recorded in April 2021. The October decline is the fourth consecutive retreat.

Americans are increasingly mentioning economic issues as one of the most important challenges facing the U.S.

"The upticks in citations of the deficit and inflation are largely responsible for an increase in mentions of any economic issue — from 16 percent in September to 24 percent in October. The percentage of U.S. adults mentioning any economic issue as the most important has not been this high since April 2017, although the 23 percent figure from last June is similar to the current reading," Gallup said.

The rest of the "stack" of most important issues is also not good news for the Biden administraiton.

Can someone name the last time prices did not go thru the roof, when we had a Liberal Democrat/Socialist running things?

GAS now $1.10 MORE since the Socialcrats stole the election.

Min Wage is up about $2. Some places claim they can't find help. But actually are holding off fully staffing for P&L reasons.

Some food places have found only offering drive-thru service mean greater PROFITS.

Meat prices have gotten so ridiculous that we are seeing Cattle and Dairy cow rustling again. Yearlings (300-500 lbs) are disappearing from fields greater numbers.

Container-trains on remote sidelines are getting ram-shacked in greater numbers.

ALL of these increases are adding to the purchase price we pay.

...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
on Wednesday declared the Lebanese Qard al-Hasan Association a terrorist entity due to its direct connection with Hezbollah as the terror group’s financial arm.

Al-Qard al-Hasan, whose name in Arabic means "the benevolent loan," offers interest-free loans up to $5,000 and is considered Lebanon’s largest non-banking financial institution giving microloans.

The association, officially a non-profit charity, is one of the tools by which the Iran-backed Hezbollah entrenches its support among the country’s Shiite population, even as the group has come under enormous criticism over the past year among Lebanese furious at the political elite.

"The association works on managing funds for the terrorist organization (Hezbollah) and its financing, including support for military purposes," the Saudi Presidency of State Security said in a statement.

Riyadh said it was freezing all of Qard al-Hasan’s assets, prohibiting any entity from conducting direct or indirect dealings with the association, and warned of "strict measures" against those who are confirmed to be connected to the Hezbollah-linked group Wednesday.

"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue to work to combat the terrorist activities of the terrorist organization (Hezbollah), and will coordinate with international partners to target the sources of financial support for the organization, whether they are individuals or entities," the Saudi statement added.

With poverty rising across Lebanon, Hezbollah provides its community with low-cost schools and hospitals, and distributes heating fuel to the poor. Hezbollah continues to pay its fighters and employees in its institutions in US dollars, while everyone else gets their salaries in Lebanese pounds, which lost about 90 percent of its value in the crisis.

Amid the ongoing economic, political and social crisis in Lebanon, the al-Qard al-Hasan association has seen a significant increase in the number of clients it serves, despite it being under US Treasury sanctions since 2007.

India-Pakistan
2013 serial blasts at Modi rally: Patna convicts 9 Indian Mujahideen terrorists
[OneIndia] A Special NIA Court in Patna has convicted 9 accused in connection with the 2013 Gandhi Maidan serial blasts. It may be recalled that the blasts took place just before Narendra Modi, the then prime ministerial candidate was to deliver an address during the Hunkar rally.

While 9 were convicted, one person Fakhruddin has been acquitted in the case. The sentencing of the nine accused including Haider Ali, Numan Ansari, Majibullah, Umar Siddiqui, Firoz Aslam and Imtiaz Alam will take place on November 1.

Six people were killed and scores were maimed in the serial blasts that took place in Patna, Bihar on October 27 2013. The rally however went on with Modi delivering the address, thanks to which a stampede was avoided at the packed Gandhi Maidan. The speech also calmed the nerves of the people present there.

The Indian Mujahideen

was accused of carrying out the blasts. Nine IM operatives and a cadre of the Students Islamic Movement of India were made arraigned as accused in the case.

Haider Ali alias Black Beauty, Human Ansari, Mohammad Ansari, Umar Siddiqui, Azharuddin Qureshi, Faqruddin Mohammad, Ahmed Ansari, Mohammad Alam were identified as the accused.

The identity of one accused was protected as he was a minor. The minor was sentenced to three years by the Juvenile Justice Board.

One accused, Tariq Ansari died while trying to plant a bomb inside a public toilet in Patna. The accused are currently launched in a Patna jail.

The case was taken up by the NIA on November 6 2013 and a chargesheet was filed on August 21 2014. The NIA said that the accused had planned the Patna blasts after they failed to get close to Modi during his previous rallies in Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi.

In this case there were 250 prosecution witnesses all of whom deposed before the court. In all there were 17 IEDS of which seven had been detonated.

Israel shuts down culture festival in East Jerusalem, claiming PA funding
[IsraelTimes] But organizers of festival at French-protected site deny any financial involvement by Paleostinian leadership
Did they apply to the Israeli mayor of Jerusalem before putting this train on the rails?
Israel has blocked a cultural festival at a French-protected site in East Jerusalem, claiming it was sponsored by the Paleostinian Authority without Israeli permission, an assertion organizers denied Wednesday.

The scheduled three-day festival at Abraham’s House for religious pilgrims, with performances by Paleostinian arts groups, was supported by the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
Development Program (UNDP), Finland and Austria.

Abraham’s House manager Bernard Thibaud told AFP that performances had already begun for children on Tuesday when police arrived and shut it down, adding that he was "shocked and ashamed" by the cancellation.

The French consul general in Jerusalem as well as the consulate’s religious affairs adviser had also already visited the festival, diplomatic sources told AFP.

In the cancellation order, Israel’s Public Security Minister Omer Barlev wrote that the event was being held "with sponsorship and funding of the Paleostinian Authority, and this without written permission."

Police who came to the venue wore plain clothes and traveled in unmarked cars, the diplomatic sources said.

Abraham’s House is managed by a religious charity, Secours Catholique-Caritas La Belle France. It is under the protection of the French Consulate in Jerusalem, similar to the Church of Sainte-Anne in the Old City, which President Emmanuel Macron visited last year.

"The purpose is to bring a little joy and leisure to kids and adults of these surroundings who are experiencing lots of poverty and violence," Thibaud said.

"Having the police stop these cultural events is just bringing more violence to the district."

Israel prohibits official Paleostinian Authority activity in Jerusalem, viewing it as an infringement of its illusory sovereignty in the capital. The Paleostinians hope to establish the capital of their future state in East Jerusalem.

The festival was organized by the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, El-Hakawati Paleostinian National Theater and the Qafilah mobile theater in Jerusalem.

Asked if the PA supported his organization or the festival, conservatory director-general Suhail Khoury told AFP, "no, not at all."

Amer Khalil, director of el-Hakawati, also told AFP the PA was "not at all" supporting his group or the festival, adding that it was a UNDP program.

Imad Mitwalli, director of Qafilah, said his organization "never ever" received money from the PA.

Barlev did not immediately reply to AFP questions.

The arts groups publicized the event with the help of a local association in Silwan, a Paleostinian neighborhood at the edge of Jerusalem’s Old City.

Eyeing drone threat from Iran, Israel working to boost radars, air defenses
[IsrqelTimes] Military hopes to have full coverage of northern airspace within two years, as part of plan to establish a nationwide air defense umbrella.

In addition to the threats that Israel’s air defenses have faced in the past — rocket and missile fire, enemy aircraft — the IDF is now increasingly forced to contend with large and small unmanned aerial vehicles. Once the domain of nation-states, drone technology has become increasingly available to terrorist groups

Most of the funding for this effort has already been allocated, with some of it — roughly a quarter of a billion shekels — coming from a deal that was brokered in late 2019 between the Defense, Energy, and Finance ministries. That agreement also secured the military’s approval for the construction of wind turbines on the Golan Heights. (As such turbines interfere with radar reception, the money was meant to go toward developing technological solutions to work around those issues.)

Military court convicts Palestinian terrorist in Esther Horgen’s murder
[IsraelTimes] Muhammad Mruh Kabha convicted of killing in the Reihan forest last year; family says he should ’rot behind bars till the end of his days’

The Samaria Military Court on Wednesday convicted a Paleostinian man who confessed to killing Israeli Esther Horgen in a terror attack late last year.

The court found Muhammad Mruh Kabha
...also spelt Mohammad Maroh Kabaha...
guilty of intentionally causing Horgen’s death as well as various other offenses.

Horgen’s family responded in a statement, saying they were "satisfied with the conviction of the terrorist."

"The terrorist should get his punishment with the full severity of the law and rot behind bars till the end of his days," the statement said.

The family went on to accuse the Paleostinian Authority of being responsible for Horgen’s murder, by "encouraging terror with blood libels and education to hate and kill, and by paying enormous sums to Death Eaters and their families after the act."

The PA pays monthly wages to Paleostinians who are in prison for carrying out attacks on Israelis and to their families if the attackers are killed.

In February this year, the IDF demolished Kabha’s home in the village of Tura al-Gharbiya, near Jenin in the northern West Bank.

According to court papers, on December 20, 2020, Horgen, 52, a mother of six, went for a hike in the Reihan forest, near her home in the Tal Menashe settlement. Kabha, who had been waiting in the area for a potential victim to pass by, ran after her and knocked her to the ground. Horgen tried to fight him off but he pinned her down and then repeatedly hit her over the head with large rocks, causing her to bleed and breaking bones in her arms and chest, until she stopped moving.

Horgen’s body was found in the early hours of the next morning after her husband, Benjamin, reported her missing.

Kabha escaped and was captured after a four-day manhunt.

According to the Shin Bet security agency, Kabha carried out the terror attack as a form of vengeance for the death of a security prisoner, Kamel Abu Waer, who died of cancer six weeks before.

Europe
EU fines Poland €1 million per day over judicial reforms
[DW] The European Court of Justice has fined Poland €1 million per day for ignoring an EU ruling that called for the country's Supreme Court disciplinary chamber to be suspended.

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) ordered Poland to pay a fine of €1 million ($1.2 million) per day on Wednesday over its decision to ignore an EU ruling on Warsaw's judicial reforms.

The top EU court imposed the penalty as Poland has not suspended the disciplinary chamber of its Supreme Court, which critics say allows for the dismissal of judges on political grounds.

The ECJ had ruled in July that the chamber does not guarantee judicial impartiality, and ordered that it be suspended.

The ECJ said in a press release Wednesday that the fine was "necessary in order to avoid serious and irreparable harm to the legal order of the European Union and to the values on which that Union is founded, in particular that of the rule of law."

The European Commission had requested "financial penalties" be levied on September 9 after Poland failed to comply with the July ruling.

Other EU nations have insisted that Poland not be allowed to collect EU subsidies while disregarding the bloc's principles.

"You cannot pocket all the money but refuse the values,'' Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said Wednesday, adding Poland cannot treat the EU like "a cash machine.'' He also pointed out that Poland is a major recipient of EU funds.

On Twitter, Poland's Deputy Justice Minister Sebastian Kaleta called the fine "usurpation and blackmail."

Radoslaw Fogiel, a spokesperson for the right-wing ruling party, claimed that Poland contributes more to the bloc than it receives. However, EU figures show that Warsaw is a net recipient of €12 billion a year.

EU CAN CUT FUNDS IF WARSAW REFUSES TO PAY
DW spoke with Polish MEP Radoslaw Sikorski about the ongoing dispute.

Sikorski, who opposes the current government's stance, said that Poland’s refusal to pay the fine would be a technicality. "Poland doesn't need to pay, the commission will simply deduct the money from funds that flow to Poland," he said.

He also rejected claims of blackmail made by Polish lawmakers, saying that "every international organization has some rules" that can incur punishments if broken.

As for how Poland will now proceed, Sikorski said: "I would expect Poland to fulfill the judgments of the European Court of Justice, there's no there's no way around it. We voluntarily signed up to the European legal system in our accession treaty."

The former Polish minister went on to say that while there is room to debate the relationship between EU and national courts, "the issue here is that the ruling party in Poland has packed the Constitutional Court and it's trying to pack ordinary courts."

POLAND AND ITS JUDICIARY
The disciplinary chamber of Poland's Supreme Court was set up in 2018 by the conservative Law and Justice (PiS) and is able to dismiss judges and prosecutors.

The ECJ fears this could be abused to inflict punitive sanctions on those who show independence in not bowing to political will.

Since then, the chamber is at the center of a row between the PiS and the EU.

Earlier this month, Poland's constitutional court ruled Polish law supersedes EU law when there is a conflict between the two.

Last week, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told the European Parliament the disciplinary chamber will be abolished, but he gave no timeline for when that would occur and no draft law has been introduced.

Poland has been accused of backsliding when it comes to the independence of the judiciary and press freedom by other EU member states.

The EU asserts Poland has politicized the judiciary with the placement of judges loyal to the ruling Law and Justice Party.

Diab Sues State over His Port Blast Prosecution
[An Nahar] Former Prime Minister Hassan Diab filed Wednesday a lawsuit against the state, over his prosecution by lead investigator in the Beirut port blast, Judge Tarek Bitar.

Judicial sources told al-Jadeed TV that once Bitar is officially notified of the suit by Diab’s defense lawyers, the ex-PM’s prosecution will be paused until a decision is made.

The lawsuit was filed one day before Bitar’s scheduled session to interrogate Diab.

Diab, along with three ex-ministers and incumbent MPs Ali Hassan Khalil, Ghazi Zoaiter and Nohad al-Mashnouq had been charged by Bitar in the port case with negligence.

Khalil and Zoaiter on Wednesday also filed a lawsuit before the Court of Cassation to specify the competent authority for Bitar’s dismissal, media outlets said.

Lebanon Scrambles to Contain Fallout after Kordahi Remarks Anger Gulf
[An Nahar] The Gulf Cooperation Council condemned Wednesday the statements made by Minister of Information George Kordahi about the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
war, saying it reflects "a limited knowledge and a shallow understanding" that are not acceptable.
Saudi sources told MTV media station that "we are facing a severe diplomatic crisis due to Kordahi's offensive statements to Arab countries, regardless of the timing of the interview."

Kordahi had raised controversy by accusing Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
and the UAE of "aggression against Yemen" in a recorded interview with al-Jazeera Online in August, a month before he was appointed as a minister in the government of Prime Minister Najib Miqati.

"The Yemeni war is absurd and it should stop," he said, adding that "the Huthis are defending themselves against an external aggression."

After the interview surfaced late Tuesday on social media, Kordahi tweeted that he "did not intend, in any way, to offend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the Emirates," and expressed his love and loyalty to the leaders and people of the two countries.

"What I said about the war in Yemen, I said it with conviction, not in defense of Yemen, but also out of love for Saudi Arabia and the UAE," he said.

The Yemeni Ambassador to Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. ...
said he will present a protest to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and responded to the latter’s recent tweets by saying that "it added insult to injury, as he did not apologize, but rather confirmed what he had said."

Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani, for his part, tweeted about Kordahi saying "it reflects a flagrant ignorance of the Yemeni issue, blind bias towards the terrorist Huthi militia, and disregard for the role of the Iranian regime and its expansionist agenda in Yemen and the region," asking the Lebanese government for a "clear position."

Prime Minsiter Najib Miqati said that Kordahi’s statements do not reflect the government’s position and stressed the brotherly ties between Lebanon, KSA and UAE.

He reiterated Wednesday after meeting President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
in Baabda that "we are keen on having the best relations with the Arab countries and the Gulf, and President Aoun has asked me to confirm this position."

Earlier this year, former foreign minister Charbel Wehbe made comments in a televised interview blaming Gulf states for the rise of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in Iraq and Syria. He resigned over the comments in May.

New Migrant Caravan Clashes with Mexican Feds Before March to U.S.
The caravan continues north through Mexico.
[BREITBART] A caravan of thousands of migrants colonists, mostly Haitian and Central Americans, started making their way to Mexico City with the intent of reaching the U.S. border. Moslem colonists Migrants clashed with immigration authorities and broke through blockades set in southern Mexico.

Officials estimate between 2,000 to 3,100 people formed the initial caravan over the weekend with additional migrants colonists expected to join along the way, potentially swelling the group’s size to 5,000, Noticieros Televisa reported.

Although the migrants colonists carried a sign which read, "migrants colonists, peace, and justice," the atmosphere became charged over the weekend when they encountered officers from the National Institute of Migration (INM), blocking a road in Tapachula, Chiapas.

The migrants colonists pushed through lines of INM agents and Mexican federal forces who used batons, shields, and riot gear to stop the group. Activists have recently called out authorities for excessive force. WRadio reported that INM agents beat a child, causing head injuries.

The caravan has since pushed north to reach central Mexico. The development comes weeks after more than 14,000 migrants colonists from Caribbean nations made their way to Del Rio, Texas, rapidly overwhelming the detention and housing capabilities of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Breitbart Texas reported.

Currently, thousands of other migrants colonists wait in Mexico’s southern border region for official travel documents to lawfully move about the country as registered for refugee assistance. Haitians now outnumber Hondurans in the number of applications submitted requesting refuge in Mexico, El Diario del Sur reported.

At the end of September, about 31,884 Hondurans submitted refugee applications in Mexico, while Haitians had submitted about 26,007, figures from Mexico’s government revealed. By mid-October, the number of applications from Haitians reached 33,000, outpacing the 32,000 from Hondurans.

Mass shootings continue in US, leaving two dead, four hurt
[DAILYTIMES.PK] On Monday, two people were murdered and four others were maimed — including a police officer — when a gunman opened fire in a shopping mall in the US state of Idaho. After the incident, Police in Boise were called to the mall with reports "that at least one person was shot and down," the city’s police chief Ryan Lee told news hounds.

They encountered a man matching the description 911 callers had given, with one officer being hit.

A suspect was taken into custody and there is "no ongoing threat or danger to the community on the lam from this incident," Lee said.

"We really cannot at this time speak to any motivation behind it, or anything else that may impact the investigation," he said.

The New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

reported the two-story Boise Towne Square mall is made up of more than 150 stores and restaurants.

Ukrainian and separatist artillery units exchange fire
Ukrainian and Russian backed separatists claimed the other fired on locales less then five kilometers from the other, according to Ukrainian and Russian language official reports.

A news account from the online edition of lb.ua said that separatist artillery units fired 20 shots at Trokhizbenka, damaging buildings and briefly knocking power out to the village.

The report, quoting an official from nearby Schastye said the separatists units used large caliber artillery.

Trokhizbenka sets on the left bank of the Severodoetsk River, less than five kilometers west northwest of Schastye.

According to an official account from the breakaway People's Republic of Lugansk, Ukrainian artillery units fired on the villages of Golubovskoye and Smeloe in the Slavyanoserbsky region.

The report said that 120mm mortar and small arms fire were used in the attack. The report did not specify casualties.

In a post from separatist militants on their VKontakte account, 122mm artillery was used in the attack, landing a total of 30 shells. The firing came from the Ukrainian 57th Brigade.

Ukrainian units take over Staromaryevka
A Ukrainian Army unit has captured the village in the gray zone, south of Donetsk city, according to Russian language and official reports.

Staromaryevka is on highway T0512, just south of Granitnoye.

Not commenting further, Ukrainian army units continued its tactic -- started in 2016 -- of taking over unoccupied territory between the lines of contact between the two combatants.

The tactic enabled Ukrainian forces to deploy snipers and artillery spotters to harass separatist units in the area.

LF Supporters Rally on Maarab Road as Geagea Dodges Court Summons
[An Nahar] Members and supporters of the Lebanese Forces
A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb...
party on Wednesday flocked to Maarab in their cars in solidarity with LF leader Samir Geagea
...Geagea was imprisoned by the Syrians and their puppets for 11 years in a dungeon in the third basement level of the Lebanese Ministry of Defense. He was released after the Cedar Revolution in 2005...
.The move comes after Geagea was summoned to appear before the army’s Intelligence Directorate as a witness in connection with the deadly Tayyouneh-Ain al-Remmaneh festivities. The summoning had been scheduled for 9am Wednesday and the LF leader did not show up.

The National News Agency said the roads leading to Maarab were completely filled by Geagea’s supporters and the vehicles that carried them.

"The atmosphere is calm and has not been marred by any incident," NNA added, noting that the protesters carried Lebanese and LF flags, chanted patriotic anthems and shouted slogans supportive of Geagea.

LF politician Chawki Daccache and ex-MP Elie Keyrouz were meanwhile taking part in the demo.

Geagea has stressed that he will not testify in the case if Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
chief Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
is not also summoned.

The festivities on October 14 left seven people dead, mainly Hizbullah and Amal Movement members. Hizbullah and Amal accused the LF of being responsible for sniper fire against unarmed protesters that ignited armed festivities.

Geagea has denied responsibility
Nope. Nope. Wudn't us.
for the deaths, saying that residents of Ain al-Remmaneh had "defended" themselves against "Hizbullah Death Eaters who tried to enter their homes." He also said that a protester fired handgun shots and injured four people in Ain al-Remmaneh before any rounds were fired from the neighborhood.

The LF official in charge of Maarab security, Simon Musallem, two Amal Movement members, two Syrians and a Lebanese Army soldier were among 68 suspects who were charged Tuesday over the festivities by Judge Fadi Akiki, the State Commissioner to the Military Court. The rest of the charged suspects are residents of Ain al-Remmaneh and LF members and supporters according to media reports.

What will the Taliban campaign against IS in Afghanistan lead to?
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
By Boris Rozhin

[Riafan] One of the main commitments of the Taliban in the consultative negotiations with Russia and China, as well as in the negotiations with the United States in Doha (including the inter-Afghan negotiations with the government of Ashraf Ghani , which were unsuccessful) was an active counter-terrorism fight against international terrorist groups. First of all, we are talking about IS, represented on the territory of Afghanistan by the autonomous "Vilayat Khorasan", as well as about "Al-Qaeda" 1.

Ep93 – NC Nonprofit Using Data Analysis Algorithms to Red Flag Potential Illegal Voting!
[MAGA Institute] Longtime North Carolina political hand Hal Weatherman joins the MAGA Institute Podcast to discuss his Electoral Education Foundation and the data analysis tool it has developed to identify and red-flag potential illegal voting, using the official state voter roll database.

As Hal said in the show, "There is such distrust in our voting system...but the only way to restore that trust is to hold the system accountable."

The EEF tool uses the same data analysis algorithm strategy employed by white collar crime prosecutors to identify potential money-laundering amongst millions of corporations. It takes a digital "snapshot" of the official state election voter file, as it is updated and published in regular intervals, and then archives those updates. Those archived updates will then each be analyzed for changes, known as "movements," from the previous archived file, and then those movements that have the highest correlation to illegal voting methods will be identified and isolated for further investigation.

The potentially problematic movements will be published for evaluation in such a way that they will be understandable by everyone, especially the average voter.

The beauty of this approach is that it only examines week-to-week (or daily, during the election window) changes to the file, rather than analyzing the entire file, which would be impossible given its size. E.g., the North Carolina voter file contains over 8.3MM voters, with each voter requiring perhaps 300-400 lines of code, depending on their voting history and activity.

The tool will be particularly useful for campaigns to identify potential problems within the post-election challenge period, so they can timely challenge questionable election results and preserve their right to litigate.

This approach is open and transparent to everyone and is non-partisan in operation. The tool flags potential voter fraud problems regardless of location, political party affiliation, or other potentially biased data inputs. The goal is to end illegal voting across the board, regardless of who is committing it, in order to restore the public’s confidence in our elections.

Um, no. Not impossible at all. This isn't high-dimensional data -- you're only talking about a dozen attributes at most -- and this isn't really a large number of events, either. The big data data companies routinely process events data that's orders of magnitude bigger than this. This is actually pretty trivial.

This effort is to the Woke Big Data Oligarchs as the Danes were to the Wehrmacht.

[TheLibertyDaily] According to Dr. Pierre Kory and the FLCCC Alliance, between 100-200 members of Congress have been secretly treated for Covid-19 with protocols that include Ivermectin. None of those treated required hospitalization, having successfully used the drug in early stages of Covid-19, just as FLCCC Alliance and others have recommended. This is obviously a major story that mainstream media and Big Tech will desperately try to suppress because it goes against their narrative that Ivermectin is just a horse dewormer.

The ruling meant that slaughter in accordance with Jewish law, which requires animals be conscious when their necks are cut, would be prohibited in those regions, as it is in some other parts of Europe.

Greece’s top court doesn’t cite that ruling in its decision on a petition filed by the Panhellenic Animal Welfare and Environmental Federation, according to the Greek news site Protothema. But Jewish watchdogs who have been monitoring bans on ritual slaughter across the European continent say the connection is undeniable.

"We warned in December about the downstream consequences that the European Court of Justice ruling carried with it, and now we see the outcome," says Rabbi Menachem Margolin, chairman of the European Jewish Association. "Jewish freedom of religion is under direct attack. It started in Belgium, moved to Poland and Cyprus and now it is Greece’s turn."

The Greek court says there should be ways to meet the demands of animal rights advocates and the needs of Jews and Moslems who follow the laws about food in their traditions.

"The government should regulate the issue of slaughtering animals in the context of worship in such a way as to ensure both the protection of animals from any inconvenience during slaughter and the religious freedom of religious Moslems and Jews living in Greece," the court says, according to Protothema.

Dutch court convicts Iranian refugee on terror charges
[IsraelTimes] A court in the Netherlands convicts an Iranian refugee of preparing and financing terror attacks in his homeland targeting the Iranian government and its supporters. The 42-year-old man is sentenced to four years imprisonment.

The man, whose identity is not released in line with Dutch privacy rules, is linked to the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz
...in our archives as Ahvaz. They’re Sunni Arabs who’re tired of being ruled by Shiite Persians, so they’ve been getting feisty...
, a separatist group in the oil-rich Ahwaz region of southern Iran.

The man is from Ahwaz, but he was tried in Rotterdam District Court because he has lived in the Netherlands since being granted residency as a refugee.

The court says in a statement that the defendant was in contact with separatists who planned and carried out attacks in Iran, including torching banks, but also targeting people linked to the Iranian government. He discussed possible targets, offered financial support and urged separatists to make video recordings of attacks, the written judgment says.

Through his actions, "the suspect played an important role in a criminal and terrorist organization whose goal was to support attacks in Iran," the court says.

Prosecutors sought a six-year prison sentence, but judges say they gave a lower sentence because of the man’s personal history, which he said included being imprisoned and tortured in Iran.

Kosovo sanctions 7 businessmen, company for Hezbollah links
[IsraelTimes] Kosovo sanctions seven local businessmen and a company for links with Leb
...the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity™, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade...
’s terror group Hezbollah.

The decision is in line with sanctions the US imposed on Hezbollah, a powerful Shiite faction that holds seats in Lebanon’s parliament.

A statement says that seven people and the AID Properties company had their assets frozen. The seven can neither leave the country nor receive money from other individuals or companies from Kosovo.

Neither Lebanon nor the Paleostinians recognize Kosovo’s 2008 independence.

Kosovo established diplomatic ties with Israel earlier this year following a Kosovo-Serbia summit held at the White House in September 2020. A month later it opened its embassy in Jerusalem, the first European country and a Moslem-majority one to do that, following the US and Guatemala. Most international embassies are in Tel Aviv.

Pakistan: Saudi Arabia to Deposit $3 Billion with State Bank
[AnNahar] Pakistain said Wednesday that Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
will deposit $3 billion into its central bank to help bolster the cash-strapped fellow Islamic nation's shrinking foreign reserves.

Shaukat Tarin, Pakistain's top finance ministry official, also said on Twitter that Saudi Arabia will additionally supply 1.2 billion worth of oil to Pakistain on credit.

The latest development comes two days after Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who ain't the brightest knife in the national drawer...
returned from a visit to Saudi Arabia.

Pakistain's economy is currently under pressure because of an increase of oil prices in the international market. Khan has repeatedly increased oil prices at home, drawing criticism from his countrymen.

Saudi Arabia is a close Pak ally and a leading supplier of oil to Islamabad.

It'd be a quick way to get your hands on one. Who wants to be the only one without in nuclear ME?

Or at least the threat of possessing one, to deter Iranian aggression?

As Alinsky said, it's not what you have necessarily, but what the enemy *thinks* you have (or maybe it was Sun Tzu talking about deception). The point being that if you live in a rough neighborhood, you have an interest in appearing to be a badder mofo than you really are. Saddam ran the same game to enhance his WMDs. Which we know he had. Don't even start!

VIDEO: Mexican Border City Government Vehicles Used by Gulf Cartel to Block Police
[Breitbart] Gulf Cartel gunmen used municipal vehicles to set roadblocks throughout the border city of Matamoros as a way to slow down military and police responses to a shootout. It remains unclear if the government vehicles were taken by force or not, however, the criminal organization and local authorities have a long history of cooperation.

Videos from Tamaulipas government surveillance cameras revealed that during last week’s large-scale shootout between cartel forces and Mexican authorities, Gulf Cartel men used trash collection vehicles from the City of Matamoros to block traffic.

The city government has not released any statements regarding the use of their trash collection vehicles. However, Matamoros has a long history of cooperation with the Gulf Cartel, where local police, city employees, and others have been outed as working for the criminal organization. In the past, several key cartel members have been listed on municipal payrolls.

Last week, Mexican troops and state police clashed with Gulf Cartel gunmen in a series of skirmishes which spread terror throughout Matamoros. Security forces killed one of the top enforcers for the Gulf Cartel, identified as Ariel “El Tigre” Trevino.

Moscow-bound EgyptAir flight returns after threat message
[AlAhram] A Moscow-bound EgyptAir flight returned to the Egyptian capital shortly after takeoff Wednesday after a threatening message was found onboard, authorities said.

A statement by Egypt’s flagship airline said flight MS79 had returned safely to Cairo International Airport some 22 minutes after takeoff. The flight was heading to the Russian capital, it said.

Citing an unnamed official, the statement said the written message was found on a seat of the Airbus A220-300. It did not elaborate on the content of the message or who wrote it.

Later on Wednesday, EgyptAir said a security inspection determined that there was no threat to the flight. It said another aircraft was being prepared to fly passengers to their destination.

All flights between Moscow and Cairo were suspended for 2 1/2 years after the local affiliate of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group downed a plane over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula in October 2015, shortly after the aircraft took off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

The flights between the two capitals were resumed in April 2018 after Egypt beefed up security at Cairo’s international airport. But Russia only allowed resumption of flights between its territory and Sinai’s Red Sea resorts in August, after a nearly six-year hiatus.

CORRUPTION: Hunter Biden's "Art" Costs $100,000 MORE Than Signed Picasso Paintings
[Trending Politics] On Tuesday night, NY Post columnist Miranda Devine sounded the alarm on the shady "business" of Hunter Biden’s paintings. During an appearance on Tucker Carlson, Devine revealed that some of Hunter’s paintings cost $100,000 MORE than signed pieces by Picasso. (Nothing weird about that, right?)

"In the end, I went across the road to another art gallery, very high end art gallery called the Martin Lawrence gallery. And they have beautiful paintings by Picasso and Marc Chagall and Roy Lichtenstein and so on, and they are cheaper. You can buy a signed Picasso for $400,000 which is cheaper than Hunter Biden’s $500,000 paintings," she said.

"So I think that the people who are paying insane prices for Hunter Biden paintings are not really doing it for the art," she concluded.

Glen,

The way it is supposed to work (one can never tell for sure these days) is that if the Vice Presidency is vacant, the President nominates someone, and the Senate confirms. Pelosi is a factor only as long as there is no VP or approved nominee.

Where this gets old-Chinese-saying interesting is if somebody decides to get cute and not nominate a VP. As I've pointed out a couple times, although that makes Pelosi next in line, she doesn't want the job. SotH is arguably a more powerful and influential job than POTUS these days, at least at the domestic level, and if she became POTUS she'd lose her House seat and seniority - you can't hold two Federal-level elected offices at once, and there's no provision for giving her her House seat back after she's done.

As far as a 25A effort to get rid of Harris...the nice folks who made that story up really should read the 25th. No mention of anything even resembling the VP being 'unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office", and that's that. I absolutely see why they would want to get rid of her; she will be a literal drag on the Democratic ticket next year and a flat-out hazard in 2024. Historians will eventually say that Biden crippled himself the minute he locked his campaign into selecting Harris as VP, and we're already seeing the results of that.

Bottom Line: There's no provision for removing a VP simply because you don't like her, and suddenly deciding she's incapable of fulfilling her duties would be a stretch even for the MSM.

30 Cases of Violence Against Afghan Reporters Cited: ANJU
[ToloNews] More than 30 cases of violence against journalists were recorded since the Islamic Emirate swept into power, the Afghanistan National Journalists Union said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a news conference in Kabul, the head of the union, Masroor Lufti, said that 90 percent of the violence was committed by forces related to the Islamic Emirate. The rest of the cases were committed by unidentified individuals. "The Afghanistan’s National Journalists' Union conducted a general assessment over the journalists’ status for Afghanistan across the country and it shows that over 30 cases of violence against journalists happened," he added. "Nearly 90 percent of these cases belong to the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
The journalists expressed their deepest concern over the ongoing situation of the media in Afghanistan and called on the Islamic Emirate officials to form a way for journalists to deal with the safety issues as well as to provide access to information.

"One of the man problems that we have is that we don’t have proper access to information. When we go to cover a news event, we face problems," said Mohammad Sahibzada.

"My wish is that if we (women) are capable of working, why are women not allowed to work in the government media? They should be allowed," said Farahnaz, a journalist.

The front man for the Ministry of Interior, Sayed Khosti, said that efforts were underway to provide security for the journalists.

"The Islamic Emirate in some cases arrested the perpetrators," he said. "Those who humiliated the journalists have been advised."

The union earlier said that based on findings, over 70 percent of media organizations in the country have halted their activities after the collapse of the former government due to restrictions to access to information and economic challenges.

Bassil Says LF, Amal 'Colluding' at Expense of Port, Tayyouneh Victims

A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb...
and the Amal Movement and accused them of "collusion.""When I talked about the collusion of the ’Tayyouneh duo’, a major uproar happened," Bassil tweeted.

"We saw this collusion on the streets over the blood of the people and we saw it in parliament over the electoral law and the rights of expats," Bassil noted.

He added: "Tomorrow we will see it in parliament and in the judiciary over the victims of both the port and Tayyouneh."

"No to burying the truth of the biggest explosion that Leb
...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady days of human sacrifice to Baal Moloch...

Bassil’s remarks come after Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi proposed an initiative to resolve the standoff over the port investigations. According to media reports, the initiative calls for parliament to refer ex-PM Hassan Diab three ex-ministers to the Higher Council for the Trial of Presidents and Ministers and for Judge Tarek Bitar to continue his investigations without questioning politicians.

‘Fragile’ Song Pillorying China’s Online Troll Army Gets Millions of Views
[BenarNews] A pop duet taking aim at China’s army of nationalistic "Little Pink" commentators and trolls has garnered nearly 10 million views on YouTube after the singers’ accounts were blocked on Chinese social media and their songs removed from online platforms.

In the official video for "Fragile," Malaysian singer Namewee and Australian Kimberly Chen sing repeated apologies to a dancing panda, who lives in a hobbit-style house and waves a flag bearing the online insult "NMSL," frequently used by Little Pinks to wish death on the mothers of those they believe have insulted China or hurt the feelings of its people.

China frequently demands apologies from companies and celebrities if they use sensitive words not in line with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda, including the idea that Taiwan is a sovereign country that has no interest in being invaded or ruled by its larger neighbor.

US to review support for Danab following clashes with Sufi militia in Somalia
[Garowe] A US diplomat says Washington will review its support for Danab, an elite unit of the Somali National Army [SNA], following the decision by the team to fight Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama'a [ASWJ], a moderate Sufi militia, which initially used to fight al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
holy warriors.

Before falling out with the federal government, ASWJ was a close ally of both Americans and SNA in the fight against al-Shabaab. The emerging differences have derailed the fight against the holy warriors.

According to an official from the US embassy in Mogadishu told VOA the US is not taking reports of Danab fighting with ASWJ "lightly". Already, the Sufi militia has withdrawn from Guriel town following persuasion from the business community.

For years, Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama'a has been a credible partner to security forces in the fight against al-Shabaab. Last week, the militia, which took over Guriel town, came under attack from SNA and Galmadug regional forces.

During the intense battle, a Danab commander, Major Abdilatif Ahmed Ali Fayfle, was among those killed in the fighting.

The source, who spoke in confidence, said the US has intelligence that Danab Special Forces participated in the duel. The official said the support would be reviewed as a result of that involvement.

"The United States provides training and support coordination to Somali National Army Danab Brigade units to advance our shared objective of defeating al-Shabaab," said the official. "As a result of this incident, we will be reviewing the support we provide to ensure it is being used appropriately and consistent with U.S. policy and objectives."

Until now, General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh, the Chief of Defense Forces of Somalia, could not be reached for comment. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
it's understood that the Galmadug regional administration asked for backup, forcing the federal government to deploy Danab to the region.

The US has been a major financier of the Danab forces, including but not limited to training and equipping them. The vision of supporting the Special Forces was to prepare them adequately in the fight against al-Shabaab holy warriors.

The official added that the US was sympathetic to the affected families given that already, over 120 people have been killed. "We call on all sides to cease military operations and engage in political dialogue towards a peaceful resolution," said the official.

ASWJ left Guriel on Monday evening following an intervention by local businessmen, leading to a total takeover by Somali National Army. It's not clear if the moderate Sufi militia will participate in the fight against the al-Shabaab in the future.

Uganda bus blast a 'suicide bomb attack', says police
[Garowe] For the second time in as many days, authorities in Uganda reported a kaboom, raising questions about the East Africa nation's preparedness in the fight against violent mostly peaceful extremism, which seems to be taking shape within the region.

In terms of counterterrorism, Uganda has been one of the most effective countries within the Horn and East Africa, but the two explosions within days apart could prove to be just the beginning of worst days in the coming months.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said a suicide explosion hit a bus in Lungala, central Uganda on Monday evening, leaving one person dead and scores injured. The bus was travelling from the capital Kampala to Bushenyi.

"A team of bomb experts has been dispatched to Lungala, along the Kampala-Masaka highway, after a deadly explosion occurred on a bus belonging to Swift Safaris Bus company under registration number UAU 989T, at around 5pm . The bus was traveling from Kampala to Bushenyi," he said.

"So far one person has been confirmed dead and several other victims including injured persons being evacuated from the scene. The explosion comes three days after the kaboom in Komamboga," he added.

The scene, he noted, was cordoned off pending a thorough assessment and investigation by the bomb experts. "We shall periodically give updates surrounding the incident," added the police spokesperson.

Komamboga explosion on Saturday also left one person dead, in what was a terror-related attack in Uganda after almost a decade. The Islamist State fighters grabbed credit for Saturday's attack but for Monday, no group is yet to take responsibility.

The explosion killed a 20-year-old waitress and injured three people, two of whom were at death's door, police said, adding all indications suggest an act of domestic terror.

President Yoweri Museveni

said the attack "seems to be a terrorist act".

In 2010, the Somali Islamist bully boy group al-Shabaab

killed dozens of people in Kampala in a kaboom, saying it was punishing Uganda for deploying troops in Somalia.

Uganda has been one of the most effective peace and security partner in East and Horn of Africa, deploying close to 4,000 troops to Somalia in the fight against al-shabaab. Neighboring Kenya has been one of the most affected nations in the war against al-shabaab in Somalia.

Korea was a delaying action while Europe was being reinforced as fast as they could. The fact that the cabal of traitors had passed the atomic bomb info on to the Soviets who subsequently detonated one, took that card out of the deck for the time being.

Besides MacArthur had been warned about the intervention by the Chinese, they even carried out an attack prior to the full blown counter attack as a demonstration they meant business. MacArthur ignored it and created situation for the debacle that followed.

Armed Robbery Increasing in Kabul: Residents
So much for all becoming roses and rainbows once the Taliban took over.
[ToloNews] Several residents of Kabul spoke to TOLOnews Wednesday and complained that armed robbery cases have increased during the last several weeks in the capital city and in other provinces.

Residents said that armed robbery was expected to decrease under the reign of the Islamic Emirate, but crimes are still occurring across the country.

"Unlike our expectations, unfortunately, robbery and kidnapping still exist and are not prevented," said Shuja, a Kabul resident.

"With the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
takeover, we expected robberies to decrease, but cases are still happening," said Mohammad Younus.

The residents called on the Islamic Emirate officials to stand up against criminal activity.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said that more than 100 persons were arrested in the past two weeks on charges of various crimes including robberies and kidnappings.

"Over 100 were arrested only in the last 15 days," said Saayed Khosti, the Interior Ministry front man.

The intelligence department of the Islamic Emirate in a statement urged Kabul residents to continue closely cooperating with the Islamic Emirate forces to detain criminals and prevent their activity in Kabul.

Arabia
Saudi-led coalition says 105 Iran-backed rebels killed around Yemen’s Marib
[IsraelTimes] The Saudi-led military coalition backing the government in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
says that 105 Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
rebels were killed in Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s around the strategic city of Marib.

That brings to more than 1,800 the number of Houthis the coalition says it has killed around Marib in strikes it has reported almost daily since October 11. The Iran-backed rebels rarely comment on losses, and AFP can’t independently verify the toll.

"Thirteen military vehicles were destroyed and 105" gunnies were killed in strikes in the past 24 hours in al-Jawba, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) south of Marib, and al-Kassara, 30 kilometers northwest, the coalition says, according to the official Saudi Press Agency.

#2  The battle for Marib, which is in the west central part of Yeman has been going on for most of 2021.

It seems that the Saudi+ coalition began a new airstrike intensive operation in mid Oct 2021. This was probably because the Houthis were close to surrounding the city which is the last west Yemen stronghold of the pro Saudi govt headed by Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. The Houthis have captured a lot of neighborhoods and some of the center city. The govt forces have lost a fair number of soldiers in the past few months (not mentioned in Saudi reports) and the airstrike intensive attacks are most probably meant to stall the Houthi ground offensive.

Intelligence Directorate Probe 'Closed' after Geagea Dodges Summons
[An Nahar] The army’s Intelligence Directorate on Wednesday communicated with State Commissioner to Military Court Judge Fadi Akiki to inquire about the next step after Lebanese Forces

chief Samir Geagea
...Geagea was imprisoned by the Syrians and their puppets for 11 years in a dungeon in the third basement level of the Lebanese Ministry of Defense. He was released after the Cedar Revolution in 2005...
failed to attend a testimony session, MTV reported.

Akiki asked the Directorate to "close the investigation file" without requesting any other step, the TV network added.

LBCI television for its part reported that "Geagea’s file has been closed at the Intelligence Directorate."

"It has been referred to the military prosecution without the issuance of a subpoena or a search and investigation warrant," LBCI added.

"The military prosecution will continue the legal measures according to the file’s content," the TV network said.

Geagea had warned last week he would ignore the summons if Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...

was not called in for questioning too.

Seven people were killed in street fighting two weeks ago, following a rally organized by Hizbullah and its ally Amal Movement against the judge investigating last year's deadly blast at Beirut port.

Hizbullah and Amal accused the LF of firing the first shots in the October 14 violence. Geagea denied any involvement and claimed that his summons had no legal grounding.

Afghanistan
Daesh Capable of Attacking US in 6 Months: Pentagon
[ToloNews] The U.S. intelligence community has assessed that Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
in Afghanistan could have the capability to attack the United States in as little as six months, and has the intention to do so, a Pentagon brasshat told Congress on Tuesday.

The remarks by Colin Kahl, under secretary of defense for policy, are the latest reminder that Afghanistan could still pose serious national security concerns for the United States even after it ended its two-decade-old war in defeat in August.

The Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
, which won the war, are enemies of Islamic State and have seen its attempts to impose law and order after the U.S. pullout thwarted by suicide kabooms and other attacks claimed by Islamic State.

They include bombings targeting the minority Shi'ite sect and even an Islamic State beheading of a member of a Taliban militia force in the eastern city of Jalalabad.

In testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Kahl said it was still unclear whether the Taliban has the ability to fight Islamic State effectively following the U.S. withdrawal in August. The United States fought the Taliban as well as striking groups like Islamic State and al Qaeda.

"It is our assessment that the Taliban and ISIS-K are mortal enemies. So the Taliban is highly motivated to go after ISIS-K. Their ability to do so, I think, is to be determined," Kahl said, using an acronym for Islamic State in Afghanistan.

Kahl estimated Islamic State had a "cadre of a few thousand" fighters.

Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi of the new Taliban government has said the threat from Islamic State forces of Evil will be addressed. He also said Afghanistan would not become a base for attacks on other countries.

Kahl suggested al Qaeda in Afghanistan posed a more complex problem, given its ties to the Taliban. It was those ties that triggered the U.S. military intervention in Afghanistan in 2001 following al Qaeda's Sept. 11 attacks on New York and Washington.

Kahl said it could take al Qaeda "a year or two" to regenerate the capability to carry out attacks outside of Afghanistan against the United States.

Democratic President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences. So does Afghanistan, aka Biden's Bungle...
, whose supervision of the chaotic end to the war last summer has damaged his approval ratings, has said the United States will continue to be vigilant against threats emanating from Afghanistan by carrying out intelligence-gathering operations in the country that would identify threats from groups like al Qaeda and Islamic State.

Kahl said the goal was to disrupt those groups so that Islamic State and al Qaeda don't become capable of striking the United States.

"We need to be vigilant in disrupting that," he said.

Still, U.S. officials privately warn that identifying and disrupting groups like al Qaeda and Islamic State is extremely difficult without any troops in the country. Drones capable of striking Islamic State and al Qaeda targets are being flown in from the Gulf.

Kahl said the United States did not yet have any agreement with countries neighboring Afghanistan to host troops for counterterrorism efforts.

439 Americans still stuck in Afghanistan: Pentagon
[KhaamaPress] As Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., who gives the term geriatric a bad name. He blames Afghans for losing Afghanistan....
’s administration is under grave criticism for the "hasty" withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and not disclosing the number of US citizens who are still stuck in the country, the Pentagon during a Senate hearing on Tuesday, October 26 said that there are 439 American trapped in Afghanistan.

US undersecretary of defense Colin Kahul has said that they are in contact with 363 Americans in Afghanistan and added that only 176 of them are ready and want to leave the country.

Kahul added that 243 of those trapped in Afghanistan either do not want to leave Afghanistan or they are not ready to leave but acknowledged that those who want to leave will be taken out by any means possible.

had been saying that the number of Americans left behind does not exceed 200.

It comes as prominent republican Lindsey Graham
...soft-spoken senator from South Carolina, former best buddy of John Maverick McCain. Since McCain's demise, Graham has become more outspoken, more Republican and more of a supporter of President Trump. The speech he gave in support of Brett Kavanaugh was downright manly and really cheesed off the Dems...
lashed out on Joe Biden two days ago accusing him of taking 350 to 700 Americans out of Afghanistan but remaining indifferent to thousands of Afghans who have helped US men in service in the country.

Joe Biden is widely criticized as he withdrew troops from Afghanistan and left behind hundreds of American citizens.

Human Smugglers Crash While Pursued by Texas Troopers near Border, TX Man Gets 30 Years For Same
[Breitbart] An alleged pair of female human smugglers led Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on a pursuit with five migrants on board. The armed driver lost control and crashed following the lengthy pursuit.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin tweeted a video showing a vehicle being pursued by DPS troopers. The voices, reportedly coming from five smuggled migrants, can be heard cussing as the pursuit becomes more dangerous.

Melugin reported the two women drove from Austin to Del Rio, Texas, to carry out the human smuggling attempt.

It is not clear in the video if anyone was injured in the crash. It is also not clear where or when the pursuit took place.

Elsewhere in the Del Rio Border Patrol Sector, Carrizo Springs Station agents arrested another armed human smuggler. The agents found a loaded Glock pistol with an extended magazine near the reach of the driver.

Texas Man Gets 30 Years for Deadly Human Smuggling Conspiracy

[Breitbart] An Eagle Pass, Texas, man was sentenced last week to 360 months in federal prison for his role in a human smuggling event which resulted in the deaths of five migrants. The case stems from a June 2018 incident when Monsivais led authorities on a deadly high-speed chase.

Court documents state Jorge Luis Monsivais Jr., 23, was driving a Suburban on Texas Farm to Market Road 2644 with 13 migrants when Border Patrol attempted to stop the vehicle. Monsivais tried to evade and eventually crashed on Highway 85 near Big Wells. Several occupants were ejected. Four died at the scene and another passed away during transport to a hospital. Others suffered serious injuries.

On May 11, 2021, Monsivais pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death; one count of conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in serious bodily injury; one count of conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens; one count of illegal alien transportation resulting in death; and one count of illegal alien transportation resulting in serious bodily injury.

Four co-defendants previously pleaded guilty in this case and were sentenced, bringing a close to the matter. On July 29, 2019, 58-year-old Mexican Marcial Gomez Santana pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death; conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in serious bodily injury; conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens; and harboring illegal aliens for private financial gain. Gomez was later sentenced to 262 months in federal prison for his role.

On August 20, 2019, Marcial’s son and daughter, 24-year-old Rudy Gomez of Hockley and 22-year-old Johana Gomez of Houston, along with 48-year-old Mexican citizen Mariela Reyna, all pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens. Each of these defendants were sentenced to 10 years in prison and financial restitution to the victims.

HSI investigated this case with the U.S. Border Patrol—Del Rio Sector and the Dimmit County Sheriff’s Office.

Kenya on alert after terrorist attacks in Uganda
[Garowe] Authorities in Kenya are on a high alert following two separate terror incidents in Uganda which left two people dead and scores injured, with the Islamist State fighters claiming responsibility, in what could change tactics in the fight against extremism.

At Mpigi District in central Uganda, one person died following a kaboom at the bus station, injuring scores of others. Ugandan police confirmed Tuesday that the Monday attack was staged by a jihadist from the Allied Democratic Forces
...the ADF is one of several murderous Moslem groups in NE Congo. In 2019 the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on them for the usual reasons. They don't appear to be affiliated with al-Qaeda or Islamic State, though ISIS claims their work from time to time — they just like killing infidels....
[ADF] group.

Last week, another person died near the capital Kampala following an attack which was staged by ISIS holy warriors, perhaps the first attack by the group within East Africa. IS has been operating within Somalia's Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
state.

Bruno Shioso, the police spokesperson, told Capital FM that the government has taken several measures to prevent the occurrence of such an incident in Kenya.

"We are aware and we have taken cognizance that our sister country [Uganda] was attacked, it is very unfortunate. As a country and as neighbors there is so much, we could have done about it and we are alert. We have taken all the measures that I cannot discuss for security reasons, they are very confidential. As we know in Kenya, we have some levels of leadership in terms of counter-terrorism," said Shioso.

According to him, the government has boosted security along with the border areas and secured all the critical infrastructure in efforts to prevent attacks in the country.

"I assure Kenyans that they are safe and that the security is very tight and we are on top of things, hence there is no cause for alarm," he added.

Kenya has suffered a brunt of terrorist attacks from Somalia-based rag-tag militia al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
since it launched a military offensive against the terror group in October 2011, in what was dubbed "Operation Linda Nchi,".

During Mashujaa Day celebrations, President Uhuru Kenyatta stated that the transformation of the security sector in the country including the military has been among his administration’s key agenda.

"This visible transformation of our security organs has been done in honour of their sacred national duty of defending our illusory sovereignty, maintaining our territorial integrity, securing our borders, and preserving our cherished freedoms and our way of life. As an affirmation of this, today, Kenya’s police to population ratio is at its highest level in our history and is higher than the U.N. prescribed standard," President Kenyatta stated.

The president further added that the administration had rolled out a successful campaign over the years to modernize the military in a bid to guarantee the security of the country.

"In the last eight years, we have undertaken the most consequential and expansive modernization of our military in our nation’s history. We continue to tool and re-retool our security resources to the highest standards so as to keep our people safe and secure," he said.

Somalia: ASWJ leaves Guriel after mediation efforts by local community
[Garowe] Moderate Sufi militia Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama'a [ASWJ] has left Guriel town in Central Somalia, it has been established, following mediation which was brokered by the local business community, an entity which has suffered the most.

For almost a week, the militia-controlled Guriel town but a response by government forces left over 120 people dead according to the group. Both sides suffered heavy casualties as the militia pushed further to the regional capital of Dhusamareeb.

Sources said the Somali National Army [SNA] has since taken full control of the town, adding that the group voluntarily left to avoid further festivities with the government forces. The military appeared to have been overwhelmed with the Sufi militia.

ASWJ also handed over two military vehicles seized during the fighting according to a source privy to the new development in central Somalia. Their militias are heading towards Godwiil village, the source added.

On Tuesday, Galmadug regional President Ahmed Karie alias Qoorqoor claimed foreign countries and some Federal States in Somalia are behind the resurgence of Ahlu Sunna in Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
. His accusation came as fighting continues for the 4th day in Guriel, a strategic city seized by ASWJ in early October.

Qoor-Qoor said they had been calling on Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama'a to leave Guriel for 22 days, but refused. "We had no option but to go to war," he said, adding that the militia was not keen on fighting against al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
, their initial mission.

Analysts argued that the violence is a setback to the election as Galmudug and SNA opened a new front after failing war on al-Shabaab in Mudug. The militia initially cooperated with government forces in the fight against al-Shabaab bad boys.

In a statement, the international partners expressed concerns over fighting in the strategic Guriel town, arguing that the fighting could erode gains made in terms of securing Somalia's future after years of political turmoil.

Europe
Germany: Muslim migrant who murdered three while screaming ‘Allahu akbar’ is not guilty, not an ‘Islamist’
BLUF: He’s nuts, but superior German medicine has made him sane enough. Now the question is whether he is entitled to be kept in Germany so the dhimmis can pay for his lifelong treatment, or send him back to Somalia to run amok against his Muslim neighbours after he decides to stop taking his meds.
[JihadWatch] “Somali killed three people and shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’: Not guilty, not an Islamist,” translated from “Somalier tötete drei Menschen und rief “Allahu Akbar”: Schuldunfähig, kein Islamist,” by Rene Rabeder, Exxpress, October 22, 2021 (thanks to Medforth):

Incredulous amazement in the trial of the knife attacker of Würzburg. The Somali attacked with a stolen knife in June, killing three women and injuring several people, some of them fatally. According to a new expert opinion, the Somali was “incapable of guilt” at the time of the attack. This has consequences for his trial. Authorities are now struggling with the decision to deport him.

The African has now been healed, reports his lawyer. Four months after he killed three women in downtown Würzburg,
...sometimes spelt Würzburg and sometimes simply Wurzburg...
Abdirahman Jibril A.
...elsewhere in our archives as Abdirahman J. and Jibril A., the 24-year old has been living in Wuerzburg on the German dime since 2015, and was sent for psychiatric treatment because he pulled a knife on another resident of the homeless shelter where he was living...
is said to be “master of his senses” again. The suspect Somali is currently placed in a psychiatric hospital in Bavaria by order of the local court. There the doctors had “put together such a medication” that a reasonable conversation with A. was now possible again. In the case of the insane act, of course, it should have been different. The General Public Prosecutor’s Office in Munich commissioned two experts to prepare expert reports in mid-July. They conducted so-called exploration talks with the Somali in the clinic. As reported by “Welt,” the experts’ results essentially coincide with the first preliminary report from the summer. So “innocent of guilt.” On the day of the crime, he claims to have heard voices; according to a witness statement, he is said to have talked to birds.

The public prosecutor’s office is expected to apply for permanent placement of the accused in a closed ward of a psychiatric hospital by the end of the year, the statement said. The procedure was a much discussed borderline case from the start. Witnesses spoke of the perpetrator shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

However, the investigators do not have evidence of a political motive of the devout Muslim.
Perhaps not political, but he most assuredly wanted to kill infidels for the greater glory of Allah.
The police did not find any Islamist-related material on the suspect’s cell phone or in his apartment. If the perpetrator is convicted by Würzburg, according to the spokeswoman, the responsible Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is examining the revocation of his subsidiary protection and the responsible immigration authority is examining the issue of an expulsion order. After a revocation, deportation would be “in principle legally possible.”

“According to § 53 Abs. 3b AufenthG, deportation is only permitted if a foreigner has committed a serious crime or if he represents a danger to the general public or the security of the Federal Republic of Germany.”

In view of the facts, it can be assumed that these requirements are met in the Jibril A. case, “regardless of the fact that he may be judged as incompetent.”

Hans-Jochen Schrepfer, the Somali’s lawyer, wanted to give “no prognosis” on the question of a possible deportation at the request of the “Welt.” In the past few weeks, his client could finally be questioned by investigators after a treatment in the clinic. Schrepfer describes A’s statements as “very reflective”: “He expressed his regret for the fate of his victims and explained his subjective point of view.”

U.N., U.S. Sanction Libyan Official over Human Trafficking
[AnNahar] The United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
Security Council and the United States have imposed sanctions on a Libyan official over the alleged abuse and torture of migrants colonists in a detention center.

The Security Council and the U.S. said in separate statements late Tuesday that Osama al-Kuni is the de facto head of a detention center in the North African nation's west. Moslem colonists Migrants there are said to have been subjected to torture, sexual and gender-based violence and human trafficking.

Libya emerged as a major conduit for African migrants colonists hoping to reach Europa

in 2011. The country subsequently slid into chaos, with rival governments and parliaments based in its western and eastern regions, each backed by different militias and tribes.

The al-Nasr Martyrs detention center is located in the western town of Zawiya, home of two of the country's most wanted human traffickers, Abdel-Rahman Milad, and militia leader Mohammed Kachlaf.

Both Milad and Kachlaf were sanctioned by the Security Council in 2018 over allegations of human trafficking and abuse of migrants colonists.

A front man for the Libyan government did not answer calls seeking comment.

In its statement Tuesday, the U.N. sanctions committee said al-Kuni "has acted for or on behalf of or at the direction" of Milad and Kachlaf.

The Department of the Treasury blamed al-Kuni on "systematic exploitation of African migrants colonists at the detention center where these migrants colonists are subject to various human rights

abuses."

It said he or others under his direction "have been involved in or facilitated the killing, exploitation, abuse, and extortion of migrants colonists at the detention center, including through sexual violence, beatings, starvation, and other mistreatment."

Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged the Libyan government to hold al-Kuni and others implicated in human rights abuses accountable.

Libya holds migrants colonists in overcrowded detention centers, like al-Nasr, where torture, sexual assault and other abuses are rife. Detention center guards beat and tortured migrants colonists, then extorted money from their relatives, supposedly in exchange for their freedom, The News Agency that Dare Not be Named reported earlier this month.

U.N.-commissioned Sherlocks said earlier this month that abuse and ill treatment of migrants colonists in Libya amount to crimes against humanity.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Israel Opens Border to Lebanese Agricultural Workers as 'Gesture of Goodwill'
[An Nahar] Israel has said it is opening its border to agricultural workers from neighboring Leb
...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. ...
, with which it is technically at war, to pick olives."In light of the economic situation in Lebanon, and as a gesture of goodwill to the Lebanese people, the IDF opened the border to agricultural workers from Mays al-Jabal, Aitaroun and Blida," an Israeli army statement read.

"The IDF allowed the workers to cross the Blue Line, to a certain extent, allowing them to harvest olive trees in Israeli territory," the statement added, referring to the 2000 U.N.-drawn demarcation line.

An Israeli army front man told AFP several groups had been allowed across since October 10.

The statement said the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) overseeing a buffer zone between the two states had "reported the gesture" to the Lebanese side.

Tensions had been escalating afresh between the two sides since August, when Israel carried out its first air strikes on Lebanese territory in seven years and Hizbullah

claimed a direct rocket attack on Israeli soil for the first time since 2019.

In 2006, the most recent large-scale confrontation between Israel and Hizbullah left some 1,200 Lebanese dead, mainly civilians, as well as 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers.

That month-long engagement ended in a U.N.-backed ceasefire.

Lebanon and Israel last year began historic U.N.-brokered talks on setting their maritime border, even though the discussions are currently stymied.

Lebanon has for the past two years been mired in economic, political and social crisis and its residents are subject to draconian banking restrictions preventing easy access to money.

Meanwhile the local currency has plummeted some 90 percent against the dollar on the black market. Around 80 percent of the population are struggling to escape poverty amid ballooning inflation and shortages of fuel, medicine and electricity.

Government Corruption
Government-Funded Researchers Linked to Dr. Fauci and NIH Sought Aborted Minorities for Organ Harvesting
[Free Beacon via Gateway] The federal government gave at least $2.7 million in taxpayer money to researchers who sought out minority babies who had been aborted in order to harvest their organs, according to internal documents released Tuesday.

The University of Pittsburgh targeted minorities in its request for infant organs—including those taken from full-term babies—to create a "pipeline" for fetal research. Researchers said they needed 50 percent of the donated fetuses to be minorities and specified that 25 percent must come from black women. The Pittsburgh metropolitan area is 85 percent white and 8 percent black. Researchers stressed the importance of maintaining organ blood flow in the request, which watchdogs say could violate federal law by asking doctors to illegally preserve organs during labor-inducing abortions.

The National Institutes of Health has overseen experiments on fetal organs at the University of Pittsburgh since 2015 in what the school claimed to be a "tissue hub." Aborted babies used in this research ranged from 6 to 42 weeks of gestation, according to government documents. The grant request from the university to the government agency redacts key information, including how many fetuses were obtained and who provided them. Its language, however, raised troubling questions.

David Daleiden, founder and president of the pro-life Center for Medical Progress, called on the federal government to investigate the NIH and Pitt after obtaining more than 300 pages of information related to the program through a public records request.

LONDON — The organs of members of marginalized groups detained in Chinese prison camps are being forcefully harvested — sometimes when patients are still alive, an international tribunal sitting in London has concluded.

Some of the more than 1.5 million detainees in Chinese prison camps are being killed for their organs to serve a booming transplant trade that is worth some $1 billion a year, concluded the China Tribunal, an independent body tasked with investigating organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience in the authoritarian state.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iranian Firm to Rehabilitate Power Station in War-Torn Syria
The hegemon’s burden…
[AnNahar] Syria's electricity ministry has signed a $115 million contract with an Iranian company to rehabilitate a power station in a central province of the war-torn country, state media reported

Under the agreement involving the two allies — who are both under U.S. sanctions — the Iranian company Peymanir will rehabilitate the Mhardeh power station in Hama province.

Syria's electricity sector was hard hit by the country's 10-year conflict that killed hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed large parts of the country.

State news agency SANA said the rehabilitation of the station will cost 99.5 million euros ($115 million) and will take 26 months to complete. The station will then have a production capacity of 576 megawatts, according to SANA.

Syria suffers hours long electricity cuts daily and over the past months the government has been encouraging businesses and private homes to rely more on solar energy..
