Biden Judicial Nominee Said ‘Proof of Citizenship' is ‘Voter Suppression'
[Daily Wire] A left-wing activist with ties to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) nominated by President Joe Biden to be a federal judge has argued photo ID and proof of citizenship constitute "voter suppression."

Nancy Gbana Abudu, the deputy legal director at SPLC, was picked by Biden in December to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. The 11th Circuit covers parts of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. The vacancy came about upon the retirement of Judge Beverly B. Martin — a President Barack Obama appointee.

Abudu worked for the ACLU from 2005 to 2019 and was an 11th Circuit staff attorney from 2002 to 2004. Along with U.S. District Judge J. Michelle Childs, she was part of Biden’s twelfth round of judicial nominees, according to a White House memo.

#4  The name is real — probably Nancy is her “American” name. According to Wikipedia,

Abudu was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of immigrants from Ghana.[1] After graduating from Mercersburg Academy in 1992, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in 1996 and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School in 1999.[2][3]
Abudu received her master's in judicial studies from Duke University School of Law in 2016.

It sounds like she was either a child of privilege, though, or lots of scholarships.

Migrants Wearing Camo Apprehended in Far West Texas near Border

[Breitbart] Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agents teamed up with CBP’s Air and Marine Operations to apprehend a group of migrants attempting to use camouflage to conceal their location. The migrants attempted to conceal their location in the rocks and brush after fleeing from Border Patrol agents.

Big Bend Sector Chief Patrol Agent Sean McGoffin tweeted multiple images of migrants wearing camouflage as they attempted to avoid apprehension by Van Horn Station agents. The tweet shows a CBP Air and Marine Operations aircrew operating overhead to assist ground-based agents in finding and apprehending the migrants.

“On Dec. 27, @CBPAMO assisted Van Horn agents with the apprehension of more than 25 undocumented non-citizens attempting to conceal themselves in the brush after fleeing from the agents,” Chief McGoffin stated.

During the air and land operation, agents took 25 camouflage-wearing migrants into custody.

In many sectors, migrants being smuggled into the U.S. tend to seek apprehension and even turn themselves in to the first law enforcement official they find after crossing the border. In the Big Bend Sector, migrants frequently wear camouflage and utilize other tactics to avoid apprehension.

So far this year, Big Bend Sector agents apprehended 6,872 migrants according to the most recent report available from CBP officials. Of that, all but 524 were classified as single adults. Included in the total are 292 unaccompanied alien children (an increase of 76 percent over the same period in FY21) and 232 family unit aliens (a 201 percent increase). The Big Bend Sector ranks ninth out of the nine southwest border sectors.

Five-Year-Old Georgia Girl Murdered After Being Sex-Trafficked by Mother, Authorities Say
[Breitbart] A five-year-old Georgia girl was murdered after her mother allegedly sex-trafficked her to a man who raped her, sodomized her, and strangled her to death, according to a report.

Kristy Siple, 35, of Columbus, GA, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder during the course of kidnapping, murder during the course of sodomy, and murder during the course of rape in connection to the brutal killing of her five-year-old biological daughter Kamarie Holland, WTVM reports.

Investigators say Siple reported the child missing on December 13, claiming Kamarie had disappeared from their Columbus home by the time she had woken up, according to WRBL. She also claimed to find the home’s front door open.

Authorities say Siple sex-trafficked Kamarie to Jeremy Williams, 37, who has abused children in the past, WRBL reports. He was arrested on December 13, and after authorities found Kamarie’s body in a vacant apartment in nearby Phenix City, Alabama, he was “charged with Capital Murder of a child less than 14.”

AP identifies Tucker Carlson as the 'main driver' of Jan 6 misinformation
BLUF: Another Fox host, Tucker Carlson, has spread the idea that the FBI orchestrated the riot. He cites as evidence the indictments of some Jan. 6 suspects that mention unindicted co-conspirators, a common legal term that merely refers to suspects who haven’t been charged, and not evidence of undercover agents or informants.

Yet Carlson claimed on his show that "in potentially every single case, they were FBI operatives."

Carlson is a "main driver" of the idea that Jan. 6 was perpetrated by agents of the government, according to Zignal’s report. It found the claim spiked in October when Carlson released a documentary series about the insurrection.

Members of Congress, including Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., have helped spread the theories.

#5  #4 AP "knows the truth." The "truth" however, is not wat their handlers are paying them to disseminate.

I targeted a local outlet that was on a leftist tilt once making a list of every local business that was running ads with them. I called each local business, found the individuals who placed ads and had a conversation with them about the garbage slant the local outlet wrote their stories with and suggested they never longer advertise there. I even gave them suggestions where else to advertise locally. In one week the local media outlet completely changed to tune to a conservative perspective.

It worked!

#6  When I was a reporter in the early 1980's, I worked at an ostensibly "conservative" small-town newspaper owned by a fairly high-profile conservative millionaire who was a mover and shaker in conservative politics at the national level. In spite of that, the majority of the people I worked with (especially people hired straight out of school, like myself) were either actively liberal or simply unformed and uninformed. Let there be no doubt that the organizational aspiration was to join all the "kewel kids" on the left side. It was the work of a staff of veteran editors who were much more professional newspaper people than political idealogues to keep things on the straight and narrow. I am not doubting #5's account at all, but it is definitely the exception. Here, in an age where all the cable news outlets (except FauxNews) are cratering viewership, the drool cups are still firmly in place.
At the local level, you are probably better off getting your local news from the nearest cracker barrel (not the restaurant chain) than from your local fishwrap or rah-rah small wattage radio station. Truly independent local bloggers are a help, but realistically, their reach is miniscule.

In the end, "Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you read or hear," remains great advice.

Two people shot and wounded after an apparent altercation at the Mall of America
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Two people were shot and maimed Friday following an apparent altercation at the Mall of America, sending New Year’s Eve shoppers scrambling for safety and placing the Minneapolis mall on temporary lockdown, authorities said.

One man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during the shooting that happened about 4:30 pm on the third floor of the mall and another person was grazed, police said. Shoppers ran for cover and the mall was evacuated until the lockdown ended about 45 minutes later, a mall official said during a news briefing.

Deputy Bloomington Police Chief Kim Clauson said police and mall security arrived within a minute of shooting. The man shot in the leg was taken to a hospital, while a second victim was treated at the scene and released. Both injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and the suspect is believed to have fled the mall, police said. Clauson said the shooting did not appear to be random.

"It does appear there was an altercation between two males before the shot was fired," Clauson said.

Gonzalez said he saw people running as the mall lockdown alarms began, and people rushed into his store.

Media reports showed New Year’s Eve shoppers screaming and running from the mall. Police said the lockdown was lifted by Friday evening and officers were no longer searching for a suspect inside. The mall, which had been scheduled to close at 6 p.m., remained closed.

The Mall of America bans guns on its premises, according to its website. The mall does not utilize metal detectors and shoppers are not searched upon entry. Mall spokesperson Dan Jasper said lockdown drills are performed each month to prepare for shooting scenarios.

[Epoch Times] Woozle's comment #10 - "The response to this pandemic by our public health authorities will go down in history as the most disastrous in modern times. There will be a coordinated effort to rewrite history about these monumental errors. We have been told for 2 years that there are only 3 things that will help us; masks, lockdowns and novel therapies like these "vaccines". You can not go a day without hearing hundreds of references to these 3 courses of action. Every time I turn in the radio it is an ad for the vaccines. Now we are being told these novel treatments, the antiviral pills at hundreds of dollars per course, may be the answer.

Clinicians who actually treat many Covid patients know there are dozens of cheap and effective agents that can help lessen the severity of the disease yet there is almost no effort to promote them. In fact, there has been a concerted effort to withhold availability of these and lie about them (like the Ivermectin is only for horses or HCQ is fish tank cleaner, etc)

Public health authorities have even gone to great lengths to make sure pharmacies take supplements like NAC or quinine off the shelves. And the big chain pharmacies won’t fill prescriptions for Ivermectin or HCQ. These "public health" authorities would rather people die than have them find solutions outside of there 3 mandates.

Don’t you ever wonder why in 2 years time there has been no effort, no radio ads or TV commercials or anything for that matter, that would help people prophylactically, or as early treatment at home in the early stages of the disease should they get it? Things like boosting your vitamin D, add in some zinc, protect the lungs from clotting with a low dose of aspirin if you get the disease, etc., etc., etc.

We could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives by promoting safe and simple immune boosting measures rather than the a sole focus on the 3: experimental "vaccines", masks and lockdowns.

The public health authorities should be driven out in shame from their ivory towers."

Abortion Leading Global Cause of Death in 2021 with 43 Million Killed
[Breitbart] Abortion was the leading cause of death globally in 2021, with nearly 43 million unborn babies killed in the womb, according to data provided by Worldometer.

As of noon on December 31, 2021, there were 42.6 million abortions performed in the course of the year, Worldometer revealed, while 8.2 million people died from cancer, 5 million from smoking, 1.7 million of HIV/AIDS, 1.3 million from traffic fatalities, and 1 million from suicide.

Totaling all the deaths in the world from causes other than abortion reveals a figure of 58.7 million, meaning that abortions accounted for just over 42 percent of all human deaths in 2021.

By comparison, worldwide deaths from coronavirus in 2021 totaled around 3.5 million, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Worldometer — voted one of the best free reference websites by the American Library Association (ALA) — keeps a running tally through the year of major world statistics, including population, births, deaths, automobiles produced, books published, and CO2 emissions.

It also registers the total number of abortions performed worldwide, based on the latest statistics on abortions published by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The 49th annual March for Life in the United States will take place in Washington, D.C., on January 21, 2022, with the theme “Equality Begins in the Womb.”

#1  How many of them "died with COVID?" No, I'm not making a joke. I would love to live in a world where the completely defenseless were not killed as a convenience. Let's also remember some lefty bint journolist-creature some years back called it "a sacrament." I'd also love to live in a world where people too stupid to take free and freely-available precautions against unwanted pregnancy did not propogate.

It's a conundrum, for sure.

Nearly 400K Anchor Babies Born in 2021, Outpacing U.S. Births in 49 States
[Breitbart] Illegal aliens, tourists, and foreign visa workers delivered nearly 400,000 children in the United States over the last 12 months, prior analysis concludes, securing birthright American citizenship.

The analysis, published in 2018 by the Center for Immigration Studies, states that close to 400,000 “anchor babies,” the term used to describe the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens, are delivered across all 50 states each year.

Anchor babies are rewarded with birthright American citizenship despite their parents having no legitimate ties to the U.S., many having only recently arrived. Years later, when the child is considered an adult, they can sponsor their parents and foreign relatives for green cards — anchoring their family in the U.S. for generations.

Specifically, about 300,000 anchor babies are delivered to illegal alien parents every year. In addition, about 72,000 anchor babies are delivered to foreign tourists, foreign visa workers, and foreign students annually.

That total, at about 372,000 anchor babies born each year, outpaces the total number of births in 49 states, according to the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) statistics.

Only the state of California, with nearly 420,000 births in 2020, exceeds the number of anchor babies born each year. The number of births in Texas, at about 366,000 in 2020, is now less than the annual number of anchor babies born in the U.S.

Islamic Jihad threatens Israel as hunger-striking detainee reported in critical condition
[JPost] Let him die a skinny martyr
The detainee, Hisham Abu Hawwash, has been on a hunger strike for 138 days in protest of his administrative detention.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) organization warned over the weekend that if a Palestinian administrative detainee who is on hunger strike dies it would consider his death an "assassination" by Israel.

The detainee, Hisham Abu Hawash, has been on hunger strike for 138 days in protest of his administrative detention. He was recently transferred to the Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh), where he is reported to be in critical condition. Abu Hawash has been held in administrative detention since October 2020.

PIJ Secretary-General Ziyad al-Nakhala threatened that if Abu Hawash dies, his organization would consider the death an assassination and respond accordingly.

A PIJ statement issued in the Gaza Strip claimed that Abu Hawash was "being subjected to a process of assassination."

"All options are open and on the table in case the occupation continues its procrastination and evasion of responsibility," the statement cautioned.

A PIJ-affiliated armed group called the Jenin Brigades in the West Bank threatened that Israel would pay a heavy price if the prisoner dies. The group announced a "state of general mobilization" among its members, saying it was ready for retaliation.

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh on Saturday called on Israel to release the detainee. "Abu Hawash is in critical condition and we hold the occupation authorities fully responsible for his life," he said.

On Friday, a delegation from the PA Health Ministry visited Abu Hawash at the hospital and found that his health condition was seriously dangerous as he suffers blurry vision, significant muscular atrophy and inability to move and talk, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry said that it had reached out to international human rights organizations to demand that Abu Hawash be moved to a Palestinian hospital after the serious deterioration in his health condition.

28,500 Children Killed in Past 16 Years in Afghanistan: UNICEF
[Tolo] Right. Uncle Sam did this (f*ck off Herb). "Give us money" Agitprop
UNICEF says the number of children killed in Afghanistan in the past 16 years accounts for 27 percent of all verified child casualties around the world.

Over 28,000 children have been killed in conflicts since 2005 in Afghanistan, the United Nations Children’s Fun (UNICEF) said on Friday in a press release.

According to UNICEF, Afghanistan has the highest number of verified child casualties since 2005: "Afghanistan, for example, has the highest number of verified child casualties since 2005, at more than 28,500 — accounting for 27 percent of all verified child casualties globally," the press release reads.

Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and northern Ethiopia are the places where children have paid a devastating price as armed conflict, inter-communal violence and insecurity continued, UNICEF said.

"Year after year, parties to conflict continue to demonstrate a dreadful disregard for the rights and wellbeing of children," said UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore. "Children are suffering, and children are dying because of this callousness. Every effort should be made to keep these children safe from harm."

According to the statement, the UN has verified 266,000 cases of grave violations against children in more than 30 conflict situations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America over the past 16 years. The statement says these are only the cases verified by UN-led monitoring and reporting mechanisms, meaning that the true figures may be far higher.

UNICEF says that so far there is no data available about grave violations against children in 2021, but in 2020, 26,425 grave violations against children were verified by the UN.

UNICEF has called on "all parties to conflict" to take concrete measures to protect children.

"Ultimately, children living through war will only be safe when parties to conflict take concrete action to protect them and stop committing grave violations," said Fore. "As we approach the end of 2021, I call on all parties to conflict to end attacks against children, uphold their rights and strive for peaceful political resolutions to war."

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported that in western Afghanistan a father sold his 10-year-old daughter into marriage without telling her mother to feed his five-member family.

Aziz Gul, the girl's mother, described her despair at learning the news: "My heart stopped beating. I wished I could have died at that time, but maybe God didn't want me to die."

Gul rallied her brother and village elders and with their help secured a "divorce" for Qandi, on condition she repays the 100,000 afghanis (about $1,000) her husband received, AP reported.

Biden's Staring into the Abyss — and So Are We
[BUCHANAN.ORG] "’Hope’ is the thing with feathers / That perches in the soul," wrote Emily Dickinson. "And sore must be the storm / That could abash the little Bird / That kept so many warm."

Staring ahead on New Year’s Eve, at what appear to be the coming storms of 2022, this once-hopeful country is going to have to fall back on its reserves.

What storms?

Suddenly, the omicron variant of the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
is sweeping the nation, shutting schools, shops, restaurants and bars that were only lately reopened. In this last week of 2021, new infections twice set records.

Is a fifth wave of the pandemic arriving, just two years after the first wave hit in March 2020?

What is hopeful here?

While the numbers of infected are exploding and deaths are rising anew, the omicron variant appears to be less severe and less lethal than the delta variant — and possibly less enduring.

From the medical community one hears the hope that the omicron variant could displace the delta and, as has happened in South Africa, burn itself out.

Still, if the present rate of infections and deaths continues, we could have a virus-related million American deaths by spring.

A second storm is economic, with inflation now running at 6.8%, the highest rate since the last days of Jimmy Malaise Carter
...peanut farming former nuclear sub officer, who succeeded Gerald Ford as president. Carter perfected the approach later used by Joe Biden to get elected, presenting himself as a moderate whose Zero-based Budgeting was going to so away with the federal deficif. Once in the hands George McGovern's rejects, who were ever so much more virtuous than the rest of us, the nation immediately spun into a Malaise®. By the time Jimmeh, as he was contemptuously referred to, was running against Ronald Reagan, the liberal columnists were pronouncing the nation's problems as too severe to be solved by anyone; they were simply unsolvable, or maybe insoluble. That was why Reagan was such a flop. After Obama, Jimmeh's's only the second worst president ever, and by the time Biden's done maybe the third. Depending on how many Dems we elect in coming years, he may even end up looking competent...
and first days of Ronald Reagan.

Should this trend continue, inflation could be crushing to President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier. Of course Corn Pop is a real person....
’s party and presidency next November. And, according to Thursday’s Washington Post, that may be what is coming:

"Strong consumer demand, continuing supply chain troubles and the emergence of the omicron variant of the coronavirus threaten to prolong sharply rising prices well into 2022, potentially making inflation the premier economic challenge of the new year."

As for U.S. economic growth, forecasts for the first quarter of 2022 are being cut back from 5.2% to 2.2%.

At the grocery store I'd say mask usage is under 30%. At other box stores even lower. We need to understand, if a complete cure / effective vaccine arrived tomorrow, we will all see people wearing masks as long as we live. It's a virtue flag, a vestment, a binky. Eric Adams rides the subway to City Hall on his first day as NYC mayor
[NYPOST] Mayor Eric Adams
...retired New York City police captain, member of the New York State Senate, first Black Brooklyn borough president, law and order Dem after a brief fling with the Publicans. The New York Times isn't fond of him, suspecting he may not actually be black...
had an eventful subway ride early Saturday on his first day in office — calling 911 to report an assault he witnessed while waiting for the J train in Brooklyn, and encountering drunk, mentally ill and homeless New Yorkers on the trip in.

"This is not my first day, ’So let me do, you know, some photo op.’ No. This how I flow. I’m a Metro card holder," Adams told news hounds shortly before 8:00 a.m. on the 30 minute ride between his Brooklyn home and City Hall.

"The joy of doing this is you’re carrying out an observation. If it’s happening on the J line it’s happening on the 4 line, it’s happening on the 5 line, the B line. So we have to think, ’What are we doing proactively?’ " Adams said.

The former transit cop and retired NYPD captain took the 30-minute commute without any noticeable NYPD security presence.

"I feel safe in my city," he said.

While waiting on the platform at the outdoor subway station at Kosciuszko Street, Adams witnessed three young men throwing punches on the street below. He called 911, only identifying himself to the operator at the end of the call as "Adams, Mayor Adams."

A few minutes later two squad cars pulled up, but left within seconds without questioning the young men, who’d stopped fighting and were getting inside a vehicle.

Adams said the coppers should have stopped and questioned the men. He vowed to use the incident as a "teachable moment" later Saturday, when he planned to speak to officers at the 103rd Precinct station house in Jamaica, Queens.

The new mayor also chatted briefly with a loud, inebriated rider and a man who was ranting and raving and asking if Adams wanted to see his identification. Finally, he acknowledged a third individual sprawled out sleeping on the train’s bench.

"These are real things that you see," Adams said.

"When I talk about the homelessness problem in the transit system it’s not a theoretical problem, I’m seeing it," he said.

Adams vowed to send mental health workers through the subway system to offer services to homeless and sick riders— to prevent a crime or violent mostly peaceful incident from occurring.

Hizzoner arrived to City Hall by 8:30 a.m., shaking hands with coppers and administration employees as he entered the building.

The new mayor had a packed schedule planned for his first day, starting with a cabinet meeting at 9:00 a.m. and ending with a 3:30 p.m. news conference after greeting police at the 103rd Precinct.

Twelve Persons Killed In India Religious Shrine Stampede On New Year Day
[PUBLISH.TWITTER] Minor altercation led to stampede situation at Vaishno Devi shrine
[GREATERKASHMIR] A minor altercation among some young boys led to the stampede at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in which 12 people "unfortunately" died, Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said on Saturday.

Talking to PTI, he said the incident was very unfortunate, and police and other officials responded to the situation in no time.

Preliminary information from the scene suggests there was an altercation among some young boys, and within seconds, there was a stampede situation, Singh said.

"Police and officials from the civil administration were quick to respond, and the order within the crowd was immediately restored, but by that time, the damage had been done," he said.

"Immediately the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals," the police chief said, adding that 15 people were maimed.

Soros Backed Manhattan DA Sworn In To Investigate Trump/Release Criminals Who Attack Cops
[NBC New York] Alvin Bragg has already notched one historic first, taking office Saturday as Manhattan’s first Black district attorney. Now he’s weighing another: whether to make Donald Trump the first former president ever charged with a crime.
Or to prosecute anyone else on the right who dares to challenge the corrupt Bidens/DNC hold on US power.
As district attorney, Bragg inherited an investigation into Trump and his business practices from his predecessor, Cyrus Vance Jr., who declined to seek reelection last year after 12 years in the high-profile job.

After weeks of speculation about whether Vance would close his tenure with a bang by indicting Trump, the former D.A. has passed that decision to Bragg, a 48-year-old civil rights lawyer and former federal prosecutor who was sworn in at a private ceremony, in part because of COVID-19 concerns.

Bragg told CNN last month that he’ll be directly involved in the Trump matter. He also said he has asked the two veteran prosecutors who led the case under Vance — general counsel Carey Dunne and former mafia prosecutor Mark Pomerantz — to stay on and see it through.

#1  Manhattan’s first Black district attorney.

I have become wary of anyone being marketed as the first black|woman|gay|trans|POC|BIPOC|QWERTY|WHATEVER. Somehow, promoting your phenotype is just not as convincing as saying I'm good at my job.

The Trump thing is tricky. One one hand, it's great fun being the little chihuahua barking and tugging at President Trump's pant's leg. On the other, it keeps Trump in the news. You don't want Trump playing the media. He is better at it than you are. And given that he was a rich real estate developer - a prime target for auditors, inspectors, lawyers and accountants - likely nothing new will turn up. It's going to be tough to resist though, what with all that Soros money as a lubricant.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Refugee shot dead at Syrian camp housing ISIS-affiliates
[Rudaw] A refugee was killed early Saturday morning in the notorious al-Hol camp housing thousands of Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) affiliates in northeast Syria (Rojava), a conflict monitor reported.

The Syria man was shot full of holes "at dawn today [Saturday] in front of the Syrians mosque inside the camp," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

The conflict monitor attributes the crime to ISIS sleeper cells that are active in the camp.

"The unknown gunman is likely to be from the Islamic State [ISIS] group," SOHR noted.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested thousands of ISIS fighters and their wives and children when they took control of the group’s last stronghold in Syria in March 2019. Most of these people are held at al-Hol, which is home to more than 60,000 people - mostly women and kiddies of different nationalities.

The recent killing of the Syrian refugee is one of several recent incidents of murder at the camp. At least six people, including Iraqis, were killed in al-Hol last month, AFP reported SOHR as saying.

The camp reported 73 crimes that led to the death of 79 people, including security members, in the first eleven months of 2021, according to SOHR.

However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
a media outlet affiliated with the Kurdish authorities in Rojava raised the toll to 126 crimes during that year, marking 2021 as "the deadliest" at the camp.

Al-Hol has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism. The camp’s internal security forces (Asayish) in late November, arrested 14 Iraqis that "confessed to killings, chaos, raiding reception centers and targeting internal security forces" inside the camp.

There have been repeated calls from Kurdish and US officials asking the international community to repatriate their nationals from al-Hol, but only a few countries have responded positively as they are worried about security concerns.

Russia has so far repatriated 233 children. A group of 194 people from 48 families left the camp in November.

Gwen Strauss was enjoying a leisurely lunch with her 83-year-old great-aunt, Hélène Podliasky.

Hélène was French and Gwen, an American author, lives in France.

It was 2002 and the conversation turned to Hélène's past. Gwen knew her great-aunt had worked in the Resistance in France during World War Two, but didn't know anything about that time in her life.

Hélène told the story of how she was captured by the Gestapo, tortured and deported to Germany to a concentration camp. As the allies drew near, the camp was evacuated and she was forced to walk for miles on a Nazi death march.

"Then I escaped with a group of women," she said briefly.

Libyan Parliamentary Committee Denounces PM's Statements on Women
[LIBYAREVIEW] The Youth, Labour, and Social Affairs Committee of the Libyan Parliament strongly condemned the comments made by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba on unmarried Libyan women.

In a statement, the committee demanded that the PM apologize for insulting women, and describing them as commodities. It condemned such "irresponsible statements. It is not surprising that they were issued by him after he violated his moral commitment when he nominated himself for the presidency, although he pledged not to run."

"We assure Libyan women that society has been able to give them the right to lead," the statement read.

The committee added that Libyan women’s aspirations go beyond marriage, cooking, and homemaking, adding: "encouraging her to participate in elections and national political institutions is a duty."

The committee pointed out that Libyan women have made great gains in recent decades. It called on Dbaiba and the GNU to preserve the high position guaranteed to them by local legislation, and international conventions.

On Wednesday, the PM said he wanted to "revitalise the market" for unmarried women to make the prospect of marriage more lucrative, during a ceremony to distribute cheques for his marriage support grant in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
. He explained, "Sometimes we give bonuses, especially to old women."

The comments provoked outrage on social media, with the hashtag "Libyan women are citizens, not commodities" becoming a trending topic. Dbaiba was accused of insinuating that women were only desirable as marriage prospects.

In a televised presser on Thursday, he refused to apologise and defended himself against widespread criticism, which he claimed came from "those dwelling outside Libya" and those "unacquainted" with Libyan culture and language.

"The Prime Minister should act as a role model for the people," members of the Libyan Women’s Platform for Peace (LWPP) said. The organization pushes for women’s participation in the country’s political process.

Indictment targets mullahs in Istanbul for using Kurdish terms ‘adopted’ by PKK
Hurrah. The sultan has found a new scapegoat to exploit for fun and profit.
[Rudaw] An indictment recently prepared by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office targets dozens of Kurdish mullahs for using their mother tongue’s terms which have allegedly been adopted by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), claiming that these words are not used by Kurds in the country.

As part of recent investigations against the opposition-held Istanbul municipality for allegedly recruiting people affiliated to terrorist organizations, the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against Religious Scholars Mutual Aid and Solidarity Association (DIAYDER) which is consisted of Kurdish mullah who preach during Friday congregational prayers and funerals.

The 335-page indictment, a copy of which has been obtained by Rudaw English, claims that DIAYDER is affiliated to the PKK and allegedly follows instructions of the gang’s locked away
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
leader Abdullah Ocalan. The PKK, which struggles for increased cultural and political rights of Kurds in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
, is considered a terrorist group by Ankara.

Kurdish common words like civak (community), parastin (protection), jiyan (life), asiti (peace), taybet (special), ol (religion), bersiv (answer), and rojhilat (east) are among terms the indictment claims "are not used by people" but "used and adopted" by the PKK.

Kurdish language is banned in formal settings in Turkey and usage of certain words like "Kurdistan" may put someone in jail for years. Kurdish music is sometimes targeted as well for allegedly propagating for the PKK.

"Unfortunately, your ignorance and hatred towards the Kurdish language and Kurds has reached the highest point," Kurdish Language and Culture Network said in a tweet, attaching part of the indictment about Kurdish terms. "If they can, they will write our grammar as well."

Mehmet Emin Ekmen, deputy leader of the Ottoman Turkish opposition Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA), tweeted in Kurdish, using the terms which the indictment claims are affiliated to the PKK.

The trial of 23 people affiliated to the Kurdish religious association will begin on February 18. Nine of them have been detained, reported state media on December 24. The indictment seeks the sentencing of each of the mullahs to up to 15 years for "being a member of an armed terrorist organization" and "knowingly and willingly aiding an armed terrorist organization."

The indictment claims that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, held by the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), employed these clergymen as imam who also bathed the dear departed as per Islamic tradition. It adds that DIAYDER aided the families affiliated to the PKK.

Ottoman Turkish interior ministry said on December 26 that it is investigating the recruitment of hundreds of "terrorists" by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipalitym including 455 affiliated to the PKK.

Last surviving Lethpora attacker likely killed in Anantnag: Police
[GREATERKASHMIR] IGP Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain.
Vijay Kumar on Saturday said that one of the hard boyz killed in December 30 in south Kashmir's Anantnag encounter on December 30 is likely the last surviving holy warrior involved in Lethpora attack of February 14, 2019 in which 40 CRPF troopers were killed.

"The picture of one of the killed #Millitants in #AnantnagEncounter on Dec-30th matches with JeM top commander Samir Dar, who was the last surviving holy warrior involved in Lethpora #Pulwama #militant Attack. We are going for DNA sample matching," IGP Kashmir said in a tweet.

Police had said that a soldier and three JeM bad boyz were potted and their bodies retrieved from the site of the encounter that took place at Nowgam Dooru area of the South Kashmir district on Thursday.

Police had then identified those killed as Sultan alias Rayees alias Mavia (a foreign holy warrior), Nisar Ahmad Khanday, a resident of Dudwangan Kapran, and Altaf Ahmad Shah, a resident of Nathipora Dooru.

The IGP had said that Shah and Sultan along with another holy warrior Suhail Rather were involved in an attack at Zewan Srinagar in which three coppers were killed and 11 others injured.

Iraq
Turkish army detains two Kurdish villagers in Erbil province: family
[Rudaw] Two villagers were detained on Friday by the occupying Ottoman Turkish army operating from inside Iraqi territory in Kurdistan Region's Erbil province, family of one of the detainees and a resident of the village told Rudaw English.

Akram Khalil Zikri, 20, and Zedan Nabi Mustafa,18, from Dayla village in Sidakan sub-district were attending to their horses when they entered an area that the Ottoman Turkish army considers a "conflict zone" and were immediately arrested by the Ottoman Turkish soldiers in the morning, a close family member of the two cousins told Rudaw English on Saturday.

Ottoman Turkish army has established dozens of outposts in the bordering areas in the Kurdistan Region in pursuit of the the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters that have fought The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
since the 1980s.

Turkey regularly bombs the area and Ottoman Turkish drones monitor the Kurdistan Region on a daily bases, launching missiles that have killed and maimed dozens of civilians.

The two young men have been taken to Rubarok (Derecik) district in Turkey’s Kurdish-populated Hakkari province and they have been seen by locals, the source said, adding that the Kurdish authorities in the Bradost area are in contact with the Ottoman Turkish army to release the men.

Sirwan Hassan, a resident of Dayla village, confirmed to Rudaw English that the two cousins have been arrested by the Ottoman Turkish army after they ventured into the so-called conflict zone where PKK fighters are known to have clashed with the soldiers.

Rudaw English reached out to Ihsan Chalabi, mayor of nearby Sidakan sub-district, several times but he was not immediately available.

Chalabi on Saturday evening confirmed the arrest to Rudaw.

The Iraqi border guards have looked into the case, confirming that the two young men were detained by the Ottoman Turkish forces, he noted.

Suspected Turkish attack injures at least one person in Hasaka
[Rudaw] At least one person was injured in a suspected Ottoman Turkish attack in northeast Syria (Rojava), a conflict monitor reported on Saturday, days after a similar offensive took the lives of three people.

"With heavy artillery, the Ottoman Turkish forces targeted the public facilities and the municipality building" in Hasaka’s Zarkan district, injuring at least one person, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

There are initial reports of more injuries, but are not confirmed yet, SOHR added.

The recent attack resulted in material damage as well.

Hasaka has been a recent target of Ankara.

At least three people, including a mother and a child, were killed while several others were maimed when Ottoman Turkish forces bombed Zarkan and Tel Tamer districts in Hasaka on Thursday.

Four other people died in Ottoman Turkish shelling in Zarkan district on December 21.

Rojava’s internal security forces (Asayish) have previously described The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

’s offensives targeting northern Hasaka as "an attempt to displace the residents."

Several families have left the province as Ottoman Turkish Arclight airstrike

s and bombardment spark fear in its residents, according to SOHR.

Turkey has conducted three military operations in northern Syria since 2016, two of them against Kurdish fighters who Ankara considers a branch of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and a threat to its national security. It has been threatening a new offensive against Kurdish forces in Rojava in the recent months.

Turkey: Military and Maritime Agreements With Libya Still Valid
[LIBYAREVIEW] Ottoman Turkish presidential Spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, claimed that the maritime and military agreements signed with the outgoing Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) are still valid.

In an interview with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
’s Anadolu Agency, Kalin said that his country will continue to support the political process in Libya, including the elections.

"Ankara has provided the necessary proposals to hold the elections on time, but the conditions were not favorable and they the elections have been postponed," the Ottoman Turkish presidential Spokesman said.

"Turkey will continue to stand by the Libyan people and government, wether in terms of security, support for the political process or rebuilding infrastructure," he added.

Kalin also expressed his hope to announce soon the new political process within a good timetable and a transparent roadmap, without causing any tension or conflict.

In 2019, the GNA and Turkey signed two agreements on military cooperation and maritime boundaries in the Mediterranean Sea. The military agreement aims at ensuring protection of Turkey’s interests in Libya, strengthening ties between the two countries and allowing Ankara’s direct intervention in the North African country. It also allowed for Ottoman Turkish troops to be sent to Libya at the request of the Libyan government.

Earlier, Kalin said the continued Ottoman Turkish military presence in Libya will help support political stability and security in the country. "We are there as a force of stability and to help the Libyan people. And our priority as far as security is concerned is to help the Libyans establish their united Libyan National Army (LNA)," he affirmed.

Last month, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, said that Turkey is the common denominator which threatens the stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region, accusing it of exploiting the migrant crisis as a lever to apply geopolitical pressure.

"Unfortunately the common denominator of many of the challenges that we face in this region...is our neighbor Turkey," Dendias said at a meeting in Athens with the Foreign Ministers of La Belle France, Egypt and Cyprus, Jean-Yves Le Drian, Sameh Shoukry and Nikos Christodoulides.

Relations between Greece and Libya also deteriorated in November 2019 to their lowest point in years. Libya’s GNA had signed a controversial memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Turkey on the delimitation of maritime zones in the eastern Mediterranean.

IDF strikes Hamas targets in Gaza in response to rocket fire
[JPost] Smiting you asked for, smiting you received. Followup on yesterday's post
The IDF struck targets in the southern Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire which landed off the coast of Tel Aviv earlier.

The IDF struck targets in the Gaza Strip on Saturday night in response to two rockets which were fired earlier from Gaza and fell in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of central Israel, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced on Saturday night.

A Hamas site located west of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip was targeted by the Israel Air Force (IAF), according to Palestinian reports. IDF artillery targeted sites in the northern Gaza Strip during the strikes as well.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced that it had struck a number of targets in Hamas's rocket production complex. Additionally, IDF tanks targeted posts belonging to Hamas along the Gaza border.

"The terrorist organization Hamas is responsible for what is happening in the Gaza Strip and bears the consequences of terrorist acts from the Gaza Strip," said the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.

Two rockets launched from the Hamas-run Gaza Strip fell in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of central Israel early on Saturday morning.

"Earlier this morning, two rocket launches were identified from the Gaza Strip toward the Mediterranean. The rockets fell off the coast of the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. According to protocol, no sirens were sounded and no interception took place," the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement.

The rockets were heard in the cities of Tel Aviv, Holon, Bat Yam and Rishon Lezion.

The rocket fire comes just days after a civilian working on the Gaza border fence was shot and lightly wounded near the border with the northern Gaza Strip.

Shortly after the shooting on Wednesday, the IDF responded with artillery fire towards a number of Hamas posts in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian reports claimed that at least three Gazan farmers were wounded in the retaliatory strikes.

The rocket launches come as the Israeli military said that this had been the longest period of operational quiet in relation to the four most recent operations in the coastal enclave.

The spike in tensions around the Gaza Strip comes amid a wave of terror attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem, as well as growing tensions in Israeli prisons.

Additionally, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has demanded the release of Hisham Abu Hawash, a Palestinian in administrative detention who has been on hunger strike for over 130 days. Hawash’s detention has reportedly been frozen in recent days, although he is continuing his hunger strike and is hospitalized.

This is a developing story.

Libya's Finance Ministry Accused of 'illegally' Transferring Large Funds to Entities
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Saturday, the Libyan Attorney General, al-Siddiq al-Sour, called on the Ministry of Finance to provide the Public Prosecution with the reasons for transferring large amounts of money to various entities funded by the state’s Public Treasury beyond the budget items.

In a statement, the Attorney General demanded those in charge of the Finance Ministry to clarify the reasons for transferring more than 4 million Libyan dinars to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), which is an off-balance sheet item.

He also demanded to know the reasons for transferring funds to the Libyan Media Centre for Studies and Consultations in Cairo, and an indication on whether this transfer was made in accordance with the Financial Law and the Budget bylaw in 2021.

The Attorney General urged the Finance Ministry’s Officials to abide by the work of the regulatory bodies, including the NACC, and to empower its members to detect and investigate crimes and violations.

Notably, al-Sour ordered the arrest of the NACC Head, Noman al-Sheikh in July, and the NACC’s agent, Amr Qadqud following corruption charges.

Al-Sheikh was accused of personal profiteering through the NACC. This includes checks and transactions from the commission’s account to his personal account and the accounts of his family members, with some exceeding 200,000 Libyan dinars.

On Wednesday, Libya’s Attorney General ordered the detainment of the Minister of Culture, Mabrouka Touki, on allegations of corruption.

This comes a week after Libya’s Education Minister, Moussa al-Megarief, was also arrested, as part of an inquiry into a lack of schoolbooks.

In a statement, al-Sour announced that Touki would be enjugged
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
for four days on charges of "falsifying official documents in order to complicate the processes of review and oversight of public spending."

She also faces charges related to a contract for maintenance works on Ministry buildings, which had already been refurbished last year.

crash on Interstate 70 is blasting Gov. Jared Polis for reducing the sentence of the truck driver convicted of causing four deaths. Polis commuted the sentence for Rogel Aguilera-Mederos to 10 years in prison, shaving 100 years off the original sentence. Duane Bailey, who lost his brother William "Bill" Bailey in the crash, called Polis a "despicable human being."

"As far as I’m concerned, [Polis] undermined the integrity of the courts," Duane Bailey told CBS4 on Saturday morning.

The clemency was announced Thursday, during the height of mass evacuations prompted by the Marshall Fire. Duane Bailey took issue with the sentence reduction — and the timing of the announcement. A reconsideration hearing had previously been set for Jan. 13.

The crash killed Miguel Angel Lamas Arellano, 24; William Bailey, 67; Doyle Harrison, 61; and Stanley Politano, 69.

"The governor has decided political and social media pressure is more important than the victims of this crash," Duane Bailey stated.

More than five million people signed an online petition to reduce the driver’s 110-year sentence. The movement made headlines nationwide and caught the attention of celebrity activist Kim Kardashian West, who called on Polis to take action — and then praised his decision.

#1  Hard cases make bad law. The "mandatory" part of the sentencing rubbed many the wrong way, and not just on the left. That said, if every case is to be second-guessed by social media, and that second-guessing rubber-stamped by timorous governors, we are in for a "men (and lots of stupid young kids and box wine aunties) not law" era in this country, such as it is tending towards being.

Also, if the driver had been "Tom Smith from Arkansas," he'd be doing the max and Kim Kardashian wouldn't care.

-War on Police-
Ashley Ferris Identified As Heroic Lakewood Agent
[DENVER.CBSLOCAL] A Lakewood police agent who was shot in the line of duty during a deadly shooting spree has been identified by police officials as Agent Ashley Ferris. She underwent another surgery on Wednesday.

Lakewood police officials say Ferris shot and killed the gunman, Lyndon McLeod, who ultimately killed five people on Dec. 27.

They say he encountered Ferris at Alaska and Vance Streets in the Belmar shopping center. Ferris ordered him to drop his weapon as he walked toward her. He then shot her in the abdomen.

While on the ground, Ferris shot McLeod, killing him.

"All of us at the Lakewood Police Department are incredibly proud of Agent Ferris and the bravery shown by her and her fellow law enforcement officers during this active shooter situation. The entire Lakewood Police family will be here to support Agent Ferris and her family as she embarks on this recovery process." says Lakewood Police Chief Dan McCasky, "Our hearts are incredibly heavy with the loss of life and injuries suffered by others during this rampage. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cardenas, Gunn-Maldonado, Scofield, Steck and Swinyard families, as well as the families of those injured."

Lakewood police say they first received a call about shots fired at Colfax Ave. and Kipling St. at around 6 p.m. One person died at that scene. Police had a section of a parking lot in front of a liquor store, tattoo parlor and Thai restaurant taped off.

Officers found that suspect vehicle in the Belmar area, and when they tried to approach the suspect, they shot at officers who shot back at the suspect. The suspect was able to get away on foot.

There was also heavy police presence at Alaska Drive and Vance Street. Police say the suspect committed “felony menacing” at one store while armed.

Then the suspect went inside the Hyatt House hotel on Alaska Drive. The suspect allegedly shot one person inside the hotel, and that victim was taken to the hospital.

Officers then confronted the suspect again outside of the hotel, and the suspect reportedly shot at them, hitting one officer. The officer is in surgery in unknown condition.

The suspect died at that scene.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
3 dead, 7 wounded during first few hours of new year in Philadelphia
[BIZPACREVIEW] The left-wing city of Philadelphia rang in the New Year with more death and grief, continuing a cycle that’s plagued the city since far-left, Soros-funded prosecutor Larry Krasner was voted into office in 2017.According to Philly station WTXF, three people were fatally shot and seven maimed within the first few hours after the New Year had begun at 12:00 a.m.

"[P]olice were called to the 100 block of East Luray Street New Year’s morning, around 1:30, on a report of shots fired. Responding officers found a 33-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he died," the station reported.

"Just before 2 a.m., Philadelphia and Temple police responded to multiple calls regarding gunshots on Cecil B. Moore, between Willington and 17th Streets. Officers found two unidentified people suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They were rushed to Temple were (sic) they both died," according to WTXF.

The report was published at 6:35 a.m., meaning there was still plenty of time for additional murders to be committed on New Year’s Day. As disturbing as that may sound, this is, sadly, what one might call the "my truth" of Philadelphia.

According to a statement published by Philadelphia City Council President Darrell L. Clarke fairly early on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve, 559 people had by then been killed and 2,300 shot in Philadelphia in 2021 alone.

"More than 60 homicide victims were children or teens. No neighborhood is immune. More lives were lost to gun violence this year than any year in Philadelphia history," he wrote in a statement on New Year’s Eve.

Al-Rahi Says National Dialogue Must be Sponsored by U.N.
As if the UN cared in the least.
[An Nahar] Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on Saturday commented on President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
’s latest call for national dialogue."We laud the promising preliminary step that was taken by the President, the Prime Minister and the Interior Minister to set the date of the parliamentary elections and sign the decree of organizing them," al-Rahi said in his New Year’s Day sermon.

He added that "should there be good intentions, the remaining period would be enough to revive governmental work, finish talks with international financial institutions, control the border, repair ties with Gulf nations topped by KSA, and to rectify Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...a formerly French, now an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. ...
’s position."

Lebanon would then "move from alignment to neutrality and from the policy of axes to the policy of balance," a-Rahi said.

"This is how Lebanon would provide the appropriate atmosphere to launch in the future a national dialogue sponsored by the U.N., as part of an international conference that would give dialogue a U.N. guarantee and an executive mechanism," the patriarch added.

He explained that "the domestic dialogues, which we had always welcomed and supported, remained without implementation, and some participating parties disavowed them."

"What also necessitates an international conference is that some aspects of the Lebanese crisis are related to regional and international issues, such as the fate of Paleostinian refugees, the return of displaced Syrians and the settling of the border and security disputes with Israel," the patriarch went on to say.

The military provided no further details about the slain soldiers and detained Death Eaters.

North Waziristan served as a Death Eater stronghold for decades. The military carried out a full-fledged offensive in the region after an army-run school was attacked in December 2014 in the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

The attack, claimed by Pak Taliban, killed 147 people, mostly schoolchildren.

D.C. Jail Cuts J6 Prisoners' Communications After Newsmax Interview
[PJMEDIA] Jacob Lang has been awaiting trial without bail in the D.C. jail for his involvement in the January 6 riot at the Capitol for almost a year, along with many others who have been charged with crimes connected to that day. With no trial date in sight, he and his fellow inmates languish in a jail they say is inhumane. The J6 prisoners’ complaints about filthy conditions and inhumane treatment resulted in a surprise inspection that found everything they were saying was true. As a result, over 400 prisoners were moved to different facilities—none of them J6 prisoners.

Lang has been in contact with PJ Media and several other media sources and was recently giving an interview on Newsmax TV when the jail cut off his phone access. Afterward, Lang reported to PJ Media that the jail took away all access to the internet and cut off phone privileges for all the detainees. They are now on lockdown and Lang says he’s not even able to call his lawyer.

Regardless of what crimes these people are charged with, there is a protocol for how prisoners are supposed to be treated, especially pre-trial detainees who have the presumption of innocence. None of that seems to have been followed in the cases involving the J6 arrestees.

In a text sent to PJ Media by Lang’s family, Lang wrote, "I am being held in true solitary confinement, locked in my cell 22 hours a day. In response to my viral Newsmax interview yesterday, where the D.C. jail cut my interview mid-sentence, and the automated message rung [sic] out on live national TV, ’this call is being terminated by the jail.’ I have now been completely cut off from the outside world! They have suspended my phone and tablet access. I cannot talk to my family or my attorney. I literally have nothing left but food and my Bible."

Lang says he has "no lawyer access, no visitation, no calls, no haircuts, and no religious services."

Lang is charged with assaulting a police officer and was seen on video wielding a baseball bat. He claims it was in self-defense and in the defense of others who were suffocating to death and being trampled. Lang also claims he did not bring the bat but found it on the ground. Lang says that police were attacking people, including Roseanne Boyland, who died after being pulled out from the bottom of a pile of people Lang says police created.

On December 27, a few days before the Newsmax interview, Lang spoke to PJ Media and said that the solitary confinement began before Christmas in response to alleged covid outbreaks. Lang says he doesn’t know anyone who is sick in his jail pod. "We are literally being mentally tortured in here," he said. "Solitary confinement over 10 days was ruled by the Geneva convention to be cruel and unusual punishment and I’ve lived like that the first 200 days I got to this jail." After that, the prisoners were given five hours a day out of their cells, which Lang says is a little better. But that all changed before Christmas. "Now we’re back to this 22-hour lockdown and two hours out a day."

"They let out two or three people at a time so we get minor human interaction," he said. "There are some people in here who have really been drained by this."

Lang says they are treated like animals. "We are considered innocent until proven guilty and we are supposed to have all of our rights afforded to us except our freedom of movement," he said. "Our privacy rights are supposed to be maintained. Our freedom of speech rights are supposed to be maintained. How could I have my freedom of speech rights if I’m locked in a cell away from my lawyer, away from my family, away from doing interviews?"

COVID, Ivermectin, And 'Mass Formation Psychosis': Dr. Robert Malone Gives Blistering Interview To Joe Rogan

mRNA inventor Dr. Robert Malone gave a fascinating interview to Joe Rogan which aired on New Year's Eve.

If you've got three hours to spare, we recommend you watch the entire thing.

Malone, an expert in mRNA vaccine technologies who trained at UC Davis, UCSD and the Salk Institute, was suspended by Twitter with no explanation on Thursday. It appears he's preparing to sue, as Alex Berenson is currently doing.

The suspension came after Malone was vilified by a hit piece in The Atlantic which was funded by Facebook and Johnson & Johnson.

They then went deeper into the topic of ivermectin and early interventions in general. According to Malone, "There are good modeling studies, that show a half a million excess deaths have happened in the US, through the intentional blockade of early COVID treatment by the US Government.

Clash in southeast of Iran kills three IRGC members, six 'armed criminals'
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and a group of "armed criminals" clashed in the southeast of the country, leaving three IRGC members dead in addition to six criminals, state news agency IRNA reported on Saturday.

The IRGC said in a statement they identified through their intelligence a hideout and headquarters of a number of well-known armed criminals.

The clash between the IRGC and the criminals also lead to five other criminals being maimed and the destruction of their headquarters.

According to the IRGC statement, the criminals used "human shields" in the clash, and that three local members of the Basij militia fighting along the IRGC were killed in the festivities.

The clash took place in the predominantly Sunni Moslem Sistan-Balochistan

The Sistan-Balochistan province has also long been plagued by Sunni hard boyz fighting the Iranian regime’s Shia authorities, as many Sunni Iranians complain of discrimination, which Tehran denies.

Myanmar military reverts to strategy of massacres, burnings
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] When the young farmhand returned to his village in Myanmar, he found the still smoldering corpses in a circle in a burned-out hut, some with their limbs tied. The Myanmar military had stormed Done Taw at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7, he told the AP, with about 50 soldiers hunting people on foot. The farmhand and other villagers fled to the forest and fields, but 10 were captured and killed, including five teenagers, with one only 14, he said. A photo taken by his friend shows the charred remains of a victim lying face down, holding his head up, suggesting he was burned alive.

"I am very upset, it is unacceptable," said the 19-year-old, who like others interviewed by the AP asked to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal.

The carnage at Done Taw is just one of the most recent signs that the Myanmar military is reverting to a strategy of massacres as a weapon of war, according to an AP investigation based on interviews with 40 witnesses, social media, satellite imagery and data on deaths.

The massacres and scorched-earth tactics — such as the razing of entire villages — represent the latest escalation in the military’s violence against both civilians and the growing opposition. Since the military seized power in February, it has cracked down ever more brutally, abducting young men and boys, killing health care workers and torturing prisoners.

The massacres and burnings also signal a return to practices that the military has long used against ethnic minorities such as the Moslem Rohingya, thousands of whom were killed in 2017. The military is now accused of killing at least 35 civilians on Christmas Eve in Mo So village in an eastern region home to the Karenni minority. A witness told the AP that many of the bodies of the men, women and kiddies were burned beyond recognition.

Chief Justice John Roberts warns against 'inappropriate political influence' in federal courts
[NYPOST] Chief Justice John Roberts issued a blunt warning Friday about the danger of political meddling in the nation’s federal courts."The Judiciary’s power to manage its internal affairs insulates courts from inappropriate political influence and is crucial to preserving public trust in its work as a separate and co-equal branch of government," Roberts said in his year-end report released Friday Fox News reported. "Decisional independence is essential to due process, promoting impartial decision-making, free from political or other extraneous influence."

The high court has become increasingly partisan in recent years with both parties jockeying to lock in sympathetic jurists inclined to support their legislative agenda.

Former President Trump appointed three judges to the high court and sparked called from liberals to pack the bench in order to dilute conservative judicial power.

President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass. Don't say he didn't warn us......
formed a special commission to study the issue in April, but they ultimately punted on whether they felt the packing scheme was a good idea.

Roberts made no mention of the commission in his remarks.

The Chief Justice — who has led the court since 2005 — also used the address to highlight reporting from the Wall Street Journal which found that 131 federal judges had overseen cases in which they had a financial interest.

"Let me be crystal clear: the Judiciary takes this matter seriously," Roberts wrote. "We expect judges to adhere to the highest standards, and those judges violated an ethics rule," Roberts said.

Iraq pockets over $7 billion in December oil sales: ministry
For information.
[Rudaw] Iraq pocketed more than seven billion dollars from oil sales in December, the ministry announced on Saturday, noting a slight fall in revenues compared to the month before.

Iraq exported 101.5 million barrels of oil in December, with an average daily exports of 3.27 million barrels, the oil ministry said.

The exports brought in $7.37 billion, selling at over $72 per barrel, it added.

The Iraqi government is dependent on oil revenues to cover its costs and pay the salaries of civil servants. Record low oil prices during the pandemic last year caused a financial crisis in Iraq, but a recent boost in oil markets and the central bank’s decision in December to devalue the dinar against the dollar have eased the crisis.

A source from the Iraqi Central Bank last month told the country’s state newspaper that the bank’s reserves have increased from $51.9 to $64 billion "due to a rise in the oil markets."

In November, Iraq exported over 98 million oil barrels, pocketing over $7.59 billion. In October, it increased exports by more than four million compared to the month before.

Europe
France: +800 carbecues on New Year's Eve
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

A total of 874 cars have been set alight during New Years Eve celebrations in La Belle France, police say.

However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
the interior ministry said the number was much lower than in 2019. Authorities also reported a rise in the number of people stopped and detained.

A curfew to tackle COVID-19 meant no significant disruption took place this time last year.

Car burning has effectively become an annual event in French suburbs since riots in 2005 in several cities.

Some 95,000 police and gendarmes were mobilised during recent New Year's celebrations, French media report - including 32,000 firefighters and security personnel.

In Gay Paree, where face masks have been made compulsory again, 779 people were fined for not wearing a mask.

While restrictions have been partially lifted in La Belle France, more rules will come into place this month due to concerns for the Omicron variant.

From 3 January, public gatherings will be limited to 2,000 people for indoor events, and remote working will become compulsory for those who are able to.
Deutsche Welle adds:
La Belle France saw a drop in the number of cars set alight this New Year's Eve due to the COVID pandemic. There were 874 cars burned at the end of 2021 compared to 1,316 on New Year's Eve 2019, the Interior Ministry said.

Last year, La Belle France's coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
lockdown meant there were no statistics available for 2020.

The French practice of setting cars on fire at the start of the new year dates back to the 1990s in the region around Strasbourg in the eastern part of the country.

Youths in primarily lower-income neighborhoods began the practice in earnest in the 90s, where it then spread as a sign of protests.

During protests in housing projects across La Belle France in the fall of 2005, police said nearly 9,000 vehicles were torched during political unrest.

A variety of reasons are given for car burnings in La Belle France, from rebellious youths, to a desire to cover up criminal acts, as well as false insurance claims.

Ukrainian Soldier Killed as Tensions with Russia Soar

for the second time of a tough response should he invade Ukraine.

In his New Year's Eve address, Zelensky said ending the war in the east remains his "main goal".

"One serviceman of the Joint Forces was fatally maimed," the army said in a statement, adding that separatists had launched three attacks within 24 hours, using grenade launchers and small arms.

The army gave no further details of how the soldier was killed.

Tensions with Moscow have soared in recent months, with Russia massing troops near Ukraine's borders.

The West has accused the Kremlin of planning an invasion.

This week, Biden held his second phone call with Putin in just over three weeks, threatening Moscow with major economic sanctions should it launch an attack.

The Russian leader said anti-Moscow sanctions would be a "colossal mistake".

Dick Morris Predicts Hillary, AOC to Compete for the 2024 Dem Nod
[Breitbart] Former Clinton adviser and Newsmax TV Dick Morris said he sees former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) vying for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination.

Morris said Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and current Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg would also be among those competing for the party’s nod.

"I’ve always said that the way you could tell if Hillary is running again is check whether she has a pulse or not — and if she does, most likely she’s running," he said. "But lately, there have been very significant signs that indicate that she is, in fact, planning to run. She gave an interview earlier this week with MSNBC where she talked about, quote, ’We have to think clearly and be clear-eyed about what it will take to win the House and the Senate. And she then proceeded to basically blame [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] and the progressives for policies that she said could endanger the Democratic majorities."

"It’s kind of hard to see candidates during the blame game for an election that hasn’t happened yet," Dick Morris continued. "She was, and then, interestingly, the reply came from AOC, who said we need to enact the ... Build Back Better program, and then unless we do, so we’re going to lose the midterm elections. So you have dueling views from the center, and the left about what’s going to happen. What’s going to cause the collapse of the party, even though it hasn’t happened yet. I think that’s presaging a campaign. I think Hillary’s message will be after the wipeout that will happen next year. They’re going to blame each other, and AOC will use that to challenge the leadership and say she should run. And I think that Hillary is going to use that — to say that we need to sane, more moderate approach in order to win. And I think it will set up a conflict between Hillary and AOC for the democratic nomination. There will be two other candidates. The blacks will have one, probably Cory Booker, and the establishment, probably Pete Buttigieg, and I see a four-way race coming."

Iraq
Death toll of Basra landmine blast rises to seven
[SHAFAQ] The corpse count from the landmine blast that took place in Basra, far south of Iraq, earlier today, Saturday, has risen to seven, all from the same family.

A source told Shafaq News Agency seven members of the family of the well-known Shiite holy man, Ahmed Abu Lefteh, perished in the earth-shattering kaboom.

"Five others were maimed," the source added.

Earlier, a security source revealed that five members of the same family died in a kaboom while on a trip to the northern al-Rumayla desert in Basra. Five others were severely injured.

Militant killed in encounter in north Kashmir’s Kupwara
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

An unidentified krazed killer was killed in an encounter with security forces at Jumagund area of north Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain.
's Kupwara district on Saturday evening.

Africa North
Expert: Libyan PM Not Legally Entitled To Perform Duties
[LIBYAREVIEW] Salem al-Alem, a Libyan constitutional expert, said that the interim Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdelhamid al-Dbaiba, is in a grave position as he is not legally entitled to perform his duties, while he is still a candidate in the country’s delayed presidential elections, which have not yet been cancelled.

In press statements, the Libyan expert added that al-Dbaiba has the right to return back to his position only after withdrawing his candidacy, however this did not occur.

Therefore, al-Dbaiba’s chairing of the GNU’s Cabinet meeting last Thursday was a legal violation.

Al-Alem pointed out that al-Dbaiba should be held accountable, as all tasks assigned to him, according to the outcomes of Geneva peace talks, have not been achieved.

The constitutional expert pointed out that there is no vacuum in the government, as al-Dbaiba can be replaced by another person according to the law.

Notably, Libya’s interim Prime Minister led a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, marking his return to the post despite concerns that postponement of the country’s presidential election could jeopardize his position.

The election, set for December 24th, was meant to be the culmination of United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
(UN)-led efforts to drag Libya out of a decade of conflict since a 2011 revolt against long-time leader Moammer Qadaffy.

The mandate of the interim government was theoretically meant to end on December 24th, but the United Kingdom’s (UK’s) Embassy in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
said in a tweet that London "continues to recognize the GNU as the authority tasked with leading Libya to elections and does not endorse the establishment of parallel governments or institutions."

A separate joint statement by the UK, La Belle France, Germany, Italia and the United States (US) on December 24th insisted that the "transfer of power from the current interim executive authority to the new executive authority shall take place following the announcement of the results" of polls when they happen.

The parliamentary committee charged with overseeing the elections on Monday called for a reshuffle of al-Dbaiba’s interim government, and said it would be too risky to fix a new date for the ballot.

Iraq
Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq: the ''resistance'' will force the Americans to leave Iraq
[SHAFAQ] The Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Qais Khazali, confirmed on Saturday that the "resistance" would force the American occupation to leave Iraq.

On the anniversary of the liquidation of the Commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, and the Iraqi leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis Khazali said, "the sons of the Resistance® are ready to teach you more lessons, and they will force the American occupation to leave Iraq."

Addressing the U.S. forces in Iraq, he added, "You have to understand well that these people (Iraqis) cannot accept the occupation," noting that "the lessons that the heroes of the resistance in Iraq addressed to you are a message to expel them (foreign forces) from Iraq."

Soleimani, head of an elite overseas unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, was killed along with Iraqi leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis on January 3, 2020, in a U.S. dronezap on his convoy at Baghdad airport.

Washington had accused Soleimani of criminal masterminding attacks by Iranian-aligned "militias" on U.S. forces in the region. His killing took U.S.-Iranian hostilities into uncharted waters and stoked concern about a major conflagration.

Today, Supporters of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) gathered, on Saturday, in central Baghdad commemorating the second anniversary of the liquidation of the Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani
and the PMF leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Hadi al-Amiri, the head of the al-Fateh Alliance, Faleh al-Fayyad, the head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, participated in the gathering with other prominent leaders of the Shiite Factions.
