Leaked video shows federal contractors flying migrants to suburban NY: 'Betraying the American people'
[FOX] Leaked video shows migrants being transported on secret charter flights under the cover of night from southern border states to Westchester, New York.

"The government is betraying the American people," a federal contractor told a Westchester County police officer in a conversation recorded on the officer’s body camera on the tarmac of a Westchester airport on Aug. 13, 2021.

The footage was obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request by former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino. Reports first surfaced of such flights back in October when the New York Post captured video of the scene at the airport in White Plains, New York.

"Our government is completely out of control right now. They have lied to us. They've lied to the American people," Astorino, who is running as a Republican for the governor of New York, said Wednesday on Fox News’ "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

Astorino said he personally saw the migrants being put on a bus to a Costco, where they were "then released into cars into the community."

The 51-minute footage of the August incident shows Westchester Police Sgt. Michael Hamborsky peppering federal contractors early in the morning with questions about the after-hours flights and why local police were not provided details.

"You’re on a secure facility here; we really don’t know anything and we’re in charge of security," he told one of the contractors.

"This is anti all our security stuff," Hamborsky said.

Such flights first streamed into the suburban airport from places such as McAllen, and Houston, Texas, last August, according to the New York Post. They only stopped after the outlet captured footage of the scenes back in October.

Texas teen brothers and their friend are arrested 'for beating stepdad to death with BRASS KNUCKLES after he sexually abused their half-sister, nine'
  • Siblings Christian Trevino and Alejandro Trevino, both 18, were arrested in Pharr, Texas, on Saturday

  • The boys along with their friend Juan Eduardo Melendez, 18, were taken into custody for last Thursday's murder of their stepfather, Gabriel Quintanilla

  • The Trevino brothers approached Quintanilla after their nine-year-old half-sister came forward and said her 42-year-old father had sexually assaulted her

  • Quintanilla was beaten on three different occasions and was thrown into the back of a pickup truck before they abandoned his body in a McAllen field

  • Christian Trevino and Melendez were charged with capital murder
Pharr police chief Andy Harvey revealed during a press conference Tuesday that Quintanilla had a 2019 arrest warrant for allegedly sexually abusing another minor.

Quintanilla had sexually assaulted the girl between 2014 and 2016.

'He was being elusive, obviously hiding from us,' Harvey said.

This is an ongoing thing in England, so clearly it is being tolerated. Also beatings of native Englishmen, regardless of faith or lack thereof, because being accused of racism is worse than arresting the vicious colonizing scum who enjoy indulging themselves in this way.

The beating is really just a hook to hang the the story of a leading English politician posturing. Illegal immigrant entries have increased on Minister Patel’s watch as well, contrary to promises made by her and PM Boris Johnson.

Long COVID expert says the world is in 'deep trouble' and millions may suffer from debilitating physical and cognitive issues for YEARS after being infected
Isn't that old AGE?
  • While the Covid pandemic could come to an end at some point this year, the long-term effects of the virus will linger

  • 'Long Covid' is a mysterious yet surprisingly common condition where someone feels effects of Covid long after infection - sometimes to a debilitating effect
    How common? Hard numbers needed.
  • With millions of Americans having contracted Covid in recent weeks, and up to 30% of them likely to develop long Covid, it could be a massive issue

  • One expert, Dr Leonard Jason, warns that the condition can disrupt the every day life of millions and hurt society as a whole

  • Another, Dr Noah Greenspan, warns that the world's current Covid situation puts it in 'deep trouble'
Could, may and up to? Someone is having fun panicking. Also, given that this is only the second year that Covid-19 has been out in the wild, our precious Long Covid specialists need at least three more years of data before they can come up with a reliable prognosis.

Dr Leonard Jason (pictured), psychology professor at Depaul University that works with long Covid patients, warns the condition can disrupt the lives of millions, though he is optimistic effective treatments for the condition will be developed over time

#4  Long Covid looks an awful lot like a variety of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. CFS most often is triggered by an immune system overreaction to an infection — any infection. According to the NIH

Studies have given a current prevalence rate ranging from 0.007% to 2.8% in the general adult U.S. population and from 0.006% to 3.0% in the primary care population.

Whether or not Long Covid is eventually included as CFS depends on whether most cases resolve within a year or so, within three years, or never. If within a year, it’s just a slow healing version of Covid, if within three it’s a benign version of CFS, if never — typical CFS.

I remember back when I was burning 20,000 calories a day a Snickers would satisfy. Today, it takes two, and is mostly sugar instead of ingredients.

Same thing with big chicken/seafood drive through. Back then, a 3 piece chicken would do it. Now, it takes a 5 piece.

The new Bushmaster BA30 bolt action
[Guns America] Bushmaster Firearms is under new management, and they’ve hit the ground running with a new straight-pull bolt-action rifle, the BA30.

GunsAmerica editor True Pearce called it one of the fastest bolt-action guns he’s ever shot, and we had a blast putting the BA30 through its paces at this year’s SHOT Show Range Day.

Fed signals first interest rate hike coming in March as it scrambles to curb inflation
[Washington Examiner] The Federal Reserve has signaled that the first interest rate hike in years is on the horizon as it moves to leave its pandemic crisis posture and limit inflation.

The Federal Open Market Committee released its decision Wednesday after a two-day monetary policy meeting. The central bank said in a statement that "it will soon be appropriate to raise" its interest rate target.

Bond markets reacted to Wednesday's announcement by raising the implicit odds of a rate hike in March to 95%.

Economists and investors have been eagerly awaiting news on when the central bank will decide to start raising rates from the near-zero level they have been at since the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The last time interest rates were hiked was in 2018.

The Fed also announced Wednesday that its asset-purchasing program will end at the beginning of March.

#3  NMBS, that was before our UniParty hit upon their miraculous policy of Serial Asset Bubbles stoked by a lax Fed and deficits as far as the eye can see.

Productivity's been falling since 1970. Even the supposed digital tech / computer-driven increases in the late 1990s were illusory. Per Robert Gordon's research, nearly all the really big breakthroughs occurred from 1870-1930 or so.

Allison Nathan (Goldman Sachs): Why has productivity growth stalled?

Robert Gordon (Northwestern U.): Let me put this in perspective. For the total economy, productivity growth was 2.7% from 1920 to 1970, 1.6% from 1970 to 1994, 2.3% from 1994 to 2004 during what we call the dotcom era, and just 1.0% from 2004 to the second quarter of 2015. So the productivity growth of the last 11 years was not only slower than in the dotcom era, but even slower than in the so-called slowdown period beginning in the early 1970s.

The reason for the slowdown after 1970 is straightforward: we simply exhausted the productivity benefits of prior innovations.

In the late 19th century, hugely important “general purpose” technologies, like electricity and the internal combustion engine, were invented. Then there were major developments in entertainment and communication in the form of the telephone, telegraph, radio, motion pictures and television. We made major breakthroughs in health. And we vastly improved working conditions.

All of that came together between 1920 and 1970. The last three spin-offs of the great inventions— interstate highways, commercial air travel, and air conditioning in most businesses—were also largely complete by 1970. So at that point we had run through the productivity payoffs.

We have also now run through the payoffs of the digital revolution that followed. Between 1980 and 2005 there was a total transformation of business practices from paper and filing cabinets to flat screens and search engines. But that transition is over. And the temporary revival of productivity during the dotcom era was uniquely concentrated in a very short span, with remarkably few gains in productivity growth since.

We’re using software and computers now that are very similar to the ones we used ten years ago. So it is no surprise that productivity growth has been slower over this decade.

Flying Car Certified to Fly, Paving Way for Mass Production of ‘Very Efficient Flying Cars'
[ET] A hybrid car-airplane known as "AirCar" has been issued a certificate of airworthiness by the Slovakian civil aviation authority, potentially paving the way for the future of flying vehicles.

The dual-mode car-aircraft vehicle, which looks like a sports car, was created by a team of eight highly-skilled specialists at the Slovakian company Klein Vision, which was founded by Professor Stefan Klein.

Klein has devoted the last 20 years to making the flying car a reality.

It was awarded the certificate by the Slovak Transport Authority after successfully completing 70 hours of "rigorous flight testing compatible with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards," Klein Vision said in a statement (pdf).

Flight tests included over 200 takeoffs and landings and a full range of various flight and performance maneuvers that Klein Vision says demonstrated "astonishing static and dynamic stability in the aircraft mode."

The takeoff and landing procedures were achieved even without the pilot having to touch the flight controls, the company said.

It took the team of specialists over 100,000 man hours to convert design drawings of the air vehicle into mathematical models and to then create the final two-seater 1,000-kilogram (2,200-pound) vehicle that is powered by a 1.6-liter BMW engine.

US Trade Deficit Tops $1 Trillion for First Time
[Free Beacon] The U.S. trade deficit topped $1 trillion for the first time last year, according to Market Watch.

The deficit jumped from $893.5 billion in 2020—the nation's previous record—to $1.08 trillion in 2021. The United States' economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic has outpaced other nations, spurring increased demand. But Americans have tended toward buying more foreign goods as U.S. businesses have struggled with supply chain shortages caused by worker illness due to COVID-19 as well as government-imposed restrictions and mandates.

During a marathon press conference last week, President Joe Biden credited his administration with having fixed supply chain disruptions brought on by the pandemic.

"I often see empty shelves being shown on television," Biden said. "Eighty-nine percent are full, which is only a few points below what it was before the pandemic."

But supply chain issues are still being reported, especially in the auto industry, where new car sales still lag their pre-pandemic levels. Manufacturers reported about 15 million new vehicle sales in 2021—2 million less than the year before the pandemic.

Activist Uses Apple AirTags to Uncover Secret German Intel Agency
[Breitbart] An activist in Germany has reportedly used AirTags, a mass-market GPS tracking device developed by Apple, to identify a secret arm of German intelligence.

Activist Lilith Wittmann suspected that a mysterious German agency called the "Federal Telecommunications Service," of which little is publicly disclosed, actually belonged to the country’s intelligence services. Wittman then utilized a novel method to discover the truth.

By mailing an AirTag to the innocuously-named federal telecoms authority and then tracking it via GPS, the activist was able to observe that the device ended up at the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the federal domestic intelligence agency of Germany.

Michael Flynn Says Hundreds of Millions Could Die
(AmericanProsperity.com) — Once a national security advisor to former President Donald Trump, Michael Flynn is a retired Army Lieutenant General who recently gave his opinion on the continuing Ukraine conflict. With neither side budging, Flynn issued a grim warning, asserting that hundreds of millions of people could die as a result of the escalating situation.

Lt. Gen. Flynn mentioned how things are going between Russia, Ukraine, NATO, and the United States; war may be inevitable. The former national security advisor noted that American people are essentially in the dark, with the media only telling the public what they want them to hear. The retired general offered a unique opinion in The Western Journal’s recent exclusive.

Florida human smuggling suspect released without bond after migrants found dead in Canada
Florida to Canada, that's quite a reach.
[FoxNews] Four Indian nationals, including a baby and a teen, were found dead in the snow near the U.S.-Canada border.

A Florida man who is facing human smuggling charges after four migrants were found dead in the snow and seven others were found near the Canadian border last week was released from jail Monday without having to pay bond, according to reports.

Steve Shand, 57, was stopped by the U.S. Border Patrol in North Dakota on Jan. 19 with two Indian nationals in his 15-passenger van, authorities said.

As Shand and the two migrants were being transported to a Border Patrol station, five other people were found in freezing conditions across the state line in Minnesota.

"The five Indian nationals explained that they had walked across the border [from Canada] expecting to be picked up by someone," the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota said.

Law enforcement was notified that a family was still out in the cold and a search ensued.

Four people, including a baby and a teen, were then found frozen in Canada about 30 feet north of the U.S. border by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Shand was charged with human smuggling but has not been charged in the deaths of the four migrants.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Hildy Bowbeer of Minnesota ordered Shand to report to a supervisor in his home state of Florida and surrender his travel documents, but did not set a bond.

Shand, who is a suspect in other human smuggling operations, also must undergo a mental health evaluation in the next 60 days.

Migrant encounters at the northern border have been elevated recently, with 16,528 from October through December of last year. There were only 6,605 during that same time frame in 2020 and 10,667 in 2019.

Navy SEALs to stop using Washington state parks after residents voice fears of seeing 'armed men'
[FOX] The Navy has used Washington state coastal parks for over 30 years for SEAL cold water training and other special operations exercises, with leaders saying the area offers the perfect environment to simulate what the elite forces may encounter on difficult operations overseas.

"This area provides a unique environment of cold water, extreme tidal changes, multi-variant currents, low visibility, complex underwater terrain, climate and rigorous land terrain, which provides an advanced training environment," Navy spokesman Joe Overton told Coffee or Die Magazine.

But the Navy's use of Washington shoreline has recently come under fire from local residents who are concerned about both the physiological and environmental impact the SEAL training can have on others using the parks.

"I do not care to catch a glimpse of apparently armed men skulking around and I DEFINITELY do not want to risk having my young grandchildren see such a sight," a resident wrote to state regulators during a public comment period while the state was attempting to renew its agreement with the Navy.

Other residents expressed similar concerns, arguing that the parks are supposed to serve as a place to relax for residents.

"In these days of great division in our civil society, we don’t need stealthy men in camo uniforms toting toy guns around our State and County Parks," another commenter said. "People frequent parks to escape tension, not to encounter more. Keep the Navy commando training out of our parks!"

Another commenter expressed concerns over UAVs, arguing, "The Navy’s plan is to use larger, gasoline-powered UAV’s as well as smaller, electric-powered types. This offers significant potential for direct and indirect injury to birds as well as auditory disruption to the experience of park visitors."

January 6 rioter who wore ‘Camp Auschwitz’ sweatshirt pleads guilty

A witness who contacted law enforcement recognized Packer as a regular customer at a store near Newport News. A surveillance camera captured an image of him wearing the same sweatshirt in the store in December 2020.

Assistant US Attorney Mona Furst said Packer entered the Capitol despite seeing broken glass and coppers using tear gas. Packer was in the area where a police officer shot a rioter, Ashli Babbitt, and he left the building after that fatal shooting, Furst said.

Ousted Burkina president held by army 'well', says party source
[AlAhram] Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
's ousted president, Roch Marc Christian Kabore, "is physically well" and is being held by the army in a villa, a source in his party said on Wednesday.

"He's pining for the fjords, tho'"
The West African bloc ECOWAS has lashed out at the "military coup" -- the third in one of its 15 nations in less than 18 months, and said it will meet virtually for an extraordinary summit at 1000 GMT on Friday to consider possible sanctions.

Kabore's state and whereabouts have been a key issue since he was tossed by mutineering soldiers on Monday, with the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
leading calls for his release.

"President Kabore is physically well, but I cannot say anything about his state of mind," said a source in Kabore's People's Movement for Progress (MPP) party.

Kabore "is still in the hands of the army, not in a military camp, but in a presidential villa under house arrest", the source said.

"He has a doctor available... (and) access to his mobile phone, but under surveillance, obviously."

Kabore, 64, was elected in 2015 following a popular revolt that forced out strongman Blaise Compaore, who came to power in a putsch in 1987.

He was re-elected in 2020, but the following year faced a wave of anger over a jihadist insurgency that has ravaged the impoverished West African country.

On Sunday, mutinies broke out in several army barracks a day after police broke up banned protests, and on Monday the rebels moved against Kabore.

EX-MINISTERS NOT TO LEAVE
The former French colony is now in the hands of the Patriotic Movement for Preservation and Restoration (MPSR) -- the name of a junta led by Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, a regional commander in the jihadist-torn east.

It has announced the suspension of the constitution and the dissolution of the government and parliament.

The junta also closed land and air borders. The air borders were reopened on Tuesday, along with an easing of restrictions on some products moving across land borders.

Damiba met ministers of the ousted government on Wednesday, telling them not to leave the country unless given permission, political sources told AFP.

He also told them he wanted all national components involved in managing the transition, the sources said.

MPP vice-president Clement Sawadogo said that Prime Minister Lassina Zerbo, who was appointed by Kabore in December, has also been detained.

Sawadogo also told AFP that Kabore wrote a resignation letter after the coup "to preserve peace, to avoid a bloodbath that we do not need with what we are already suffering," referring to jihadist violence.

The MPP source also gave details about some of the key events on Monday.

As the revolt widened, Kabore was smuggled out of his residence by his bodyguards in an unmarked car and taken to a safe location, the source said.

"It was later, as pressure from the mutineers rose, that his guards, who were mainly gendarmes, had to leave him in the hands (of the putschists) and join them," the source said.

"The gendarmerie had no other choice but to join (the putschists) because the whole army was in favor of stripping the president of the office."

Biden stands by pledge to nominate a Black woman to Supreme Court
[Al-Rooters via JPost] That "black woman VP" has done so well....
President Joe Biden stands by his pledge to nominate a Black woman to the US Supreme Court, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Wednesday.

Psaki did not confirm liberal Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer's retirement, telling reporters any announcement would be up to Breyer.

Given the SUPREME COURT carries so much authority and control over our rights and daily lives.

Shouldn't the pick be the BEST POSSIBLE ---> Constitutionally Focused <--- person, and not limited to some Political Promise made for votes?

Such a promise clearly eliminates 100's of more qualified individuals, all more focused on the constitution as written and how to adapt it for "social" issues.

#4  Now they're saying it's going to be either Judge Leondra Kruger (CA Supreme Court) or Judge Ketanji Jackson (D.C. Court of Apeals). Each is a former Supreme Court clerk.

Kruger is known as a "cautious incrementalist" with a respect for precedent. Lefty publication Vox says:

In a 2018 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Kruger explained that her approach to the law “reflects the fact that we operate in a system of precedent.” She said that she aims “to perform my job in a way that enhances the predictability and stability of the law and public confidence and trust in the work of the courts.”

SNA troops seize villages from Al-Shabaab in central Somalia
[Garowe] The Somali National Army [SNA] has seized several villages in central Somalia, in what has significantly boosted the fight against al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
, a group that has terrorized the country for a decade

Security sources told the media that most of the villages seized were in Middle and Lower Shabelle, where the bully boyz are dominant. The al-Shabaab controls the region.

Operations were conducted in Hawadley and Jameo, located on the outskirts of the Balad district, 40 kilometers north of the Somali capital Mogadishu, the official in the region told Anadolu Agency on the condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The operation also triggered the liberation of eight more villages against an al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab group that has been carrying out a suicide kaboom, attack on the army bases, and also targeting the African Union

peacekeeping mission forces in Somalia [AMISOM] since 2007.

The government said at least ten al-Shabaab bully boyz were killed during the deadly operation. The operation comes hours after al-Shabaab attacked Bal'ad town killing six people, with a number of them being members of SNA.

Al-Shabaab still controls large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia, but operations activated by AMISOM and SNA troops have seen the group substantially degraded. Thousands of people have died in the process.

The United States and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

have also actively participated in the fight against al-Shabaab, training Danab Special Forces and Gorgor forces respectively. The two elite squads have been instrumental in the fight against the group.

NYC hospital shooting suspect arrested after he wrote his name in sign-in book: report
[FoxNews] The gunman caught on video opening fire inside the emergency room of a New York City hospital has been taken into custody after police discovered he wrote his name in the facility’s sign-in book, reports say.

Keber Martinez, 25, of the Bronx, now faces attempted murder, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a firearm charges stemming from the shooting that unfolded Tuesday at Jacobi Medical Center, according to the New York Police Department.

Police told Fox5 NY that Martinez wrote his name in the Bronx hospital’s sign-in book, making it easier for investigators to track him down. He was arrested late Tuesday night.

In a statement, the NYPD said they responded to the hospital midday Tuesday after receiving a 911 call about a person being shot inside there.

"Upon arrival Police discovered a 35-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the arm," the statement read. "The victim was immediately treated by medical personnel on location."

Police say Martinez got into a verbal dispute with the victim before discharging "several rounds."

The victim, who has not been identified, is expected to survive. He and Martinez also are believed to have known each other, according to ABC7.

The entire incident was captured on hospital surveillance cameras, showing calm in the waiting room before the gunfire erupted.

Martinez is familiar to police as he has had six prior arrests, the most recent being in May 2020 for charges of assault, drugs, grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon, ABC7 reported.

Border Patrol agents confront DHS chief Mayorkas in contentious meeting of Yuma Sector officers
[JustTheNews]\\ Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents met Wednesday with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who admitted the Biden administration's border policies are unpopular while agents are facing what may be the border's worst-ever situation.

Townhall obtained an audio recording of the meeting that sources reportedly said left Mayorkas visibly upset.

"The job has not gotten any easier over the last few months and it was very, very difficult throughout 2021," Mayorkas said. "I know apprehending families and kids is not what you signed up to do. And now we got a composition that is changing even more with Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and the like, it just gets more difficult."

He told agents that DHS is attempting to work with Mexican authorities to stop migrants before the U.S. border.

"I know the policies of this administration are not particularly popular with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but that's the reality and let's see what we can do within that framework," he said, according to Townhall.

One agent asked Mayorkas how his department could say Border Patrol's main mission is border security while agents cannot do their job at the border due to administration policies.

Mayoraks responded that he appreciated "the candor" and said he working to make sure Border Patrol agents can do their job.

The agent said they have heard that response for years. He then reportedly turned his back on Mayorkas.

Fact-Checkers Are Used To Confuse The Public: Sharyl Attkisson
[ZeroHedge] Five-time Emmy award-winning journalist Sharyl Attkisson said she has seen an increased effort to manipulate the public to appreciate censorship and disapprove of journalism. One of the strategies that has been employed is the use of third-party fact-checkers, she said.

“Nearly every mode of information has been co-opted, if it can be co-opted by some group, [and] fact-checkers are no different,” Attkisson told EpochTV’s “American Thought Leaders.”

“Either they’ve been co-opted, in many instances, or created for the purpose of distributing narratives and propaganda,” said Attkisson.

“This is all part of a very well-funded, well-organized landscape that dictates and slants the information they want us to have.”

Attkisson said she first started to notice news being controlled in the early 2000s when the media company she was working for was actively trying to suppress certain stories.

“The pushback came to be more about keeping a story from airing or keeping a study from being reported on the news, not just giving the other side, not just making sure it was accurately reported,” she said of pharmaceutical company stories she was covering at the time.

In 2016 Attkisson heard former President Barack Obama say news needed to be curated, after which mainstream media outlets started to consistently use the term fake news to describe mostly conservative news stories that they deemed untrue.

“And I remember thinking that was such a strange thing to say, because there was no big movement among the public, that people needed to have their information curated, that someone needed to step in and tell us what to think, curate what was online. But … after that, if you look at the media, day after day, there were headlines about fake news and curation of what should and shouldn’t be reported.”

Attkisson was referring to Obama’s comment at the White House Frontiers Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in October 2016.

“It’s relevant to our democracy, citizenship. We’re going to have to rebuild, within this wild, wild west of information flow, some sort of curating function that people agree to,” Obama said.

Because Attkisson was curious about this idea of curating news, she researched the topic of misinformation, which led her to a non-profit called First Draft, which was funded by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.

“And if you looked at the nonprofit’s website when they said fake news, they meant entirely conservative-base fake news and their viewpoint; there was no liberal version of fake news. And then within a matter of weeks, President Obama gives the speech, the media takes off and runs with it.”

Attkisson said the fake news phrase was actually started by the left but was effectively turned on its head by former President Donald Trump and now most people think he coined the phrase.

“But it’s actually well documented as an invention of political activists on the left during the time period I described,” Attkisson said.

For her book “Smear” she interviewed people who work to spread misinformation and propaganda with the goal of confusing the public. “And they explained to me that, if they do nothing more than confuse the information landscape, maybe you don’t totally buy what they say, but they’ve done enough to make you not sure of anything.”

CENSORSHIP DURING THE PANDEMIC
Attkisson criticized large news outlets for being a “mouthpiece” of the government or other special interest groups instead of challenging them or holding them accountable, particularly as it relates to the pandemic.

She said that soon after the pandemic began, she spoke to many scientists, government as well as private, about the virus and the course it was taking before she formed an opinion. She asked some of the scientists to speak out but they were afraid.

“They said they dare not speak out for fear of being controversial, and for fear of being called coronavirus deniers, because that phrase was starting to be used in the media. And secondly, they feared contradicting Dr. Fauci, who they said had been kind of lionized or canonized in the press for reasons that they couldn’t understand.”

#1  The bigger problem is the public happiness with being confused.

I think it was Cicero's brother who said (way back in 55 BC) "The people wish to be deceived; let them be deceived." Or for the Latin purists, "Populus vult decipi; decipiatur!"
Posted by: Tom || 01/27/2022 10:56 Comments || Top||

#2  I'm not confused. I know which media brands I can ignore out of hand. I assume ones I used to trust could join the "ignore list" any day (looking at you, FauxNews). As soon as I see the phrase "fact check," my BS detector redlines.

Same thing goes for pols. You can make a mis-step or mis-speak any time. But only once and I tune out your "walk-back" immediately and permanently.

#3  With COVIDianism, this backdoor censorship has gone off the rails. Here's Dr. Robert W. Malone on the media's Orwellian "Trusted News Initiative":

The scientific process requires constant external challenge and criticism to reach a working approximation of truth. Such (typically autocratic, paternalistic) people lose the ability to maintain objectivity and typically transition to functioning as an enforcer of their version of reality. These people often resort to a form of crude binary thought – their version of the truth versus all alternatives.

In contrast, the modern scientific practitioner approaches the effort to draw truth out of the unknown as something closer to mathematical calculus, a process of serial approximation which gradually approaches an asymptote hypothesized to be scientific truth.

Enter the "Trusted News Initiative." Here is the official BBC justification for this intrinsically anti-science, pro-censorship insult to the free exchange of ideas, and an alternative interpretation of this Orwellian bureaucracy. This intellectual obscenity purports to be able to discern and enforce scientific “truth” by defining truth as that which established public health bureaucracies (and singularly autocratic public health “leaders”) say it is.

The Trusted News Initiative aggressively employs both globally coordinated media and the tools of modern big technology to censor, demean, de-platform, delegitimize and de-license all others who seek to document, advance or discuss alternative versions of officially endorsed reality.

The "Trusted News Initiative" has functionally morphed into Orwell’s predicted ministry of truth. Backed by the combined power of national and international governmental structures, massive transnational investment funds the likes of which the world has never seen before, and the commercial assets (Big Pharma, Big Media, Big Tech) over which the funds exert horizontally integrated control through access to investment capital and structural leadership ties.

This is the most intrinsically anti-science global organization ever implemented in the history of modern man. The closest historical approximation to this monstrosity is the Catholic Church during the Spanish inquisition.

Alabama man accused of feeding meth to ‘attack squirrel' faces new charges
[FoxNews] The Alabama man who has denied allegations that he fed meth to an attack squirrel at his home will reportedly face additional charges—delaying his trial.

Mickey Joel Paulk, 39, was scheduled to appear in court next week to face charges of possession of a wild animal, stolen property and possession of a weapon by a felon after his initial arrest in June 2019, AL.com reported.

The bizarre case started in 2019, when deputies raided his Athens home and said they found meth, ammunition and body armor. The paper reported that they also claimed to have found the squirrel and released it into the wild. Limestone County deputies said they were told that Paulk fed the animal meth but said there was no safe way to test the animal, the report said.

Paulk was not home during the raid. Ronnie Reynolds, who was allegedly inside the home at the time, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and loitering at a known drug house, WBRC reported.

Paulk was arrested following a manhunt. He will now appear in court on Feb. 28, court documents show.

Paulk was arrested in December stemming from other drug offenses, AL.com reported.

US says something delphic about Nord Stream 2
WASHINGTON, Jan 26 (Reuters) - U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price said on Wednesday the Nord Stream 2 pipeline between Russia and Germany will not move forward if Russia invades Ukraine.

"I want to be very clear: if Russia invades Ukraine one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward," Price told NPR. "I'm not going to get into the specifics. We will work with Germany to ensure it does not move forward."
How is this clear if we don't know the specifics? For that matter what does 'go forward' mean since I thought all the construction was done and the pipeline was being pressurized.

Instead, they told us to go fuck ourselves and got in bed with Russia. Can someone tell me why we're still allied with them? Europeans are adversaries, plain and simple.

#3  How much gas did Nordstream 2 supply last winter?
Its function is to bypass Ukrainian pepelines and its transit fees.

US natural gas price is $4.42/MMBtu at the Henry Hub Louisiana (price was about $2.00 in 2020). (Say thank you to Biden and this commie puppeteers.

EU gas price is €92.10($103.90)/MWhr. It takes 3.41MMBtus to equal 1MWhr, so US gas is $15.07 vs $103.90 in Europe. The US should be supplying much of Europe's gas needs, cratering the price and still making a windfall profit.

National Guard Helps Agents Deter Border Crossings in New Mexico
[Breitbart] National Guardsmen operating night-vision surveillance cameras assisted El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents in keeping migrants from crossing into New Mexico. The video shows multiple migrants moving up to a barrier near Santa Teresa.

El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria Chavez tweeted surveillance video operated by National Guardsmen. The video shows multiple migrants attempting to approach the border wall under cover of darkness.

The video shows Santa Teresa Station Border Patrol agents in vehicles responding to the area. The migrants appear to be unsuccessful in their attempts to illegally enter the United States.

Elsewhere in the sector, Lordsburg Station agents stopped a human smuggling scheme where 19 migrants were packed into a single-cab pickup truck, according to a tweet by Chief Chavez. The interdiction occurred when agents became suspicious and conducted a traffic stop on the truck.

An air ambulance helicopter aircrew responded to another human smuggling incident where agents found a female migrant unresponsive in the freezing weather conditions near Santa Teresa. Border Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) agents arrived first on the scene and stabilized the unresponsive migrant.

The aircrew transported the woman to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.

Canadian Killed in Mexican Resort Tied to Vietnamese Mafia, Say Police
[Breitbart] Mexican authorities revealed the shooting of three Canadians at a luxurious resort in the Mayan Riviera is linked to an apparent organized crime dispute. One of the fatal victims was a relative and alleged money launderer for a top Vietnamese mafia leader operating in Canada.

The shooting took place Friday afternoon at a luxurious resort in Mexico’s Mayan Riviera, approximately 40 miles from Cancun, where a lone gunman approached three Canadian tourists and shot them before making an escape. Two died from their injuries.

In the days after the shooting, the Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office identified one of the victims as Robert James Dinh, a Canadian citizen wanted on money laundering charges. According to Mexican authorities, Dinh is a blood relative of Cong Dinh, a man identified as a top leader in the Vietnamese mafia operating in the U.S. and Canada. In 2019, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police offered a $50,000 reward for Cong Dinh and identified his organization as a major player in the Canadian drug trade with ties to Mexico, Australia, California, and Vietnam, the Vancouver Sun reported.

Mexican authorities also revealed the murder was planned since an unknown individual delivered the firearm to the gunman. Both of those individuals remain at large.

In recent months, Caribbean resort areas including Cancun, Tulum, and Playa Del Carmen have seen a rise in violence as rival organizations fight for control of the local drug trade and routes into Mexico. While most of the violence takes place away from tourist hotspots, there have been recent cases where gunmen clashed near hotels and high-profile destinations. In some cases, tourists were killed.

Italian police investigate physical assault of 12-year-old Jewish boy, Jew-hate incidents up in Italy and France
[IsraelTimes] Italian authorities in Tuscany are investigating an attack on a 12-year-old Jewish boy who said teenagers kicked him, hit him on the head and hurled antisemitic abuse at him.

The boy’s parents on Tuesday reported the weekend attack in a park near their home in the town of Campiglia Marittima, near Livorno, according to a statement from town officials.

Florence daily The Nation reported that the assailants told the boy: "You need to be quiet because you are Jewish," and used other demeaning and insulting language. They also said "you should die in the oven," a reference to World War II Nazi death camps where Jews were murdered and their remains burned.

The boy’s father told the paper that nobody intervened on his son’s behalf.

The mayor of Campiglia Marittima, Alberta Ticciati, said video recordings from the park were being reviewed by Sherlocks.

Antisemitic incidents have been on the increase in Italia, in particular over the last half dozen years, according to a database compiled by the Milan-based Center of Contemporary Jewish Documents’ Observatory on Anti-Jewish Prejudice.

Antisemitic incidents in France increased by 75% in 2021, also up in Italy

[IsraelTimes] Jewish community’s main watchdog group records 589 hate crimes against Jews, including a 36% jump in physical assaults, with many attacks carried out by neighbors

Reports of antisemitic incidents in La Belle France increased by 75% in 2021, according to the French Jewish community’s main watchdog group.

SPCJ recorded 589 hate crimes against Jews last year, including a 36% increase in physical assaults over 2020. The group released its annual report Wednesday.

Incidents targeting people — as opposed to communal buildings and institutions — accounted for 45% of all incidents in 2021. Of those, 10% were physical assaults.

A quarter of all incidents happened inside or just outside the victims’ homes, typically perpetrated by a neighbor, SPCJ wrote, adding this was a new and worrisome phenomenon.

Use of weapons, mostly knives and guns, in antisemitic incidents was also unusually high in 2021, occurring in 20% of all assaults and 10% of all cases of intimidation, the report said.

In nearly a third of all cases, perpetrators indicated they were motivated by issues connected to Paleostinians, the report added.
It seems reasonable to assume that at least half of those were by Muslim colonists, but the reporters seem not to have asked the question.
Dozens of incidents happened within the space of 11 days in May, when Israel and Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", were exchanging fire amid rioting by Israeli Arabs and attacks on Arabs by Israeli Jews. During that period, SPCJ documented on average five antisemitic incidents per day.

Out of 160 incidents that SPCJ classified as "violent mostly peaceful crimes," 60 were assaults against people. There were three cases of arson and 68 incidents involving antisemitic vandalism. Additionally, SPCJ recorded 429 cases of what the group classified as "intimidation."

In one incidents from 2021, guards protecting a Jewish school in Marseille overpowered a man wielding a knife whom they suspected intended to stab patrons at a nearby kosher store and bakery.

In another, occurring a month later, Jewish residents of a Gay Paree suburb chased and overpowered a man who witnesses said tried to stab three Jews. They handed him over to police.

Israeli troops nab 2 Gaza infiltrators, one armed with a grenade
They keep trying.
[IsraelTimes] Two Paleostinians, one armed with a grenade, were detained by Israel Defense Force soldiers after infiltrating into southern Israel overnight from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip, the military said Wednesday morning.

The suspects were taken for further questioning, the military said.

According to the IDF, the two attempted to cross into Israel from the Gaza Strip through the southern section of the border fence.

While Israel has a high-tech series of fences and walls guarding its frontier with Gaza, both above and below ground, a number of gaps remain in the steel fencing surrounding the Strip. In times of low visibility, these gaps have been used by Paleostinians in Gaza to illegally enter Israeli territory, often with hopes of fleeing the beleaguered enclave.
I recall discussions here at Rantburg about the purpose of walls and fortifications — on our southern border, in that particular discussion — being to funnel incoming bad guys to designated kill boxes, making it easy for defending forces to defend.
In December, another pair of Paleostinians — armed with three grenades and two knives — were arrested after crossing into Israel through the northern section of the fence, the IDF said at the time.

Though Paleostinians regularly attempt to cross into Israel from Gaza, it is highly uncommon for them to make it far into Israeli territory without being seen and detained by Israeli troops.

Ex-Irish soldier goes on trial for Islamic State membership
[Rudaw] A former Irish army soldier went on trial in Dublin on Tuesday accused of being a member of the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadist group in Syria.

Lisa Smith,
...captured with her child in Northeast Syria by Turkey in 2019...
39, from Dundalk, on Ireland's east coast, has pleaded not guilty
"Wudn't me."
to membership of an unlawful terrorist group between October 28, 2015 and December 1, 2019.

She has also denied funding terrorism by sending 800 euros ($900) to aid medical treatment for a Syrian man in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
But prosecutor Sean Gillane said Smith had "enveloped herself in the black flag of ISIS" in response to a call to arms from the group's leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

In doing so, she had "self-identified" as a member of the proscribed group, he told three judges at the Special Criminal Court in the Irish capital.

Gillane said Smith was a member of the Irish Defence Forces from 2001 to 2011 but applied to leave after converting to Islam.

Smith, said by one witness to have had a difficult upbringing with a violent mostly peaceful, alcoholic father, had applied unsuccessfully for the right to wear a hijab.

In 2012, she went on pilgrimage to Mecca, and on an Islamic Facebook page expressed a desire to live under Sharia law and to die a martyr.

'RUNNING WITH ISIS'
Smith moved to IS-controlled territory in October 2015 after buying a one-way ticket from Dublin to Turkey, and from there crossing the border to Syria.

The court was told she lived in Raqqa, the capital of Baghdadi's self-styled caliphate, and unsuccessfully attempted to get her husband to join her.

He refused and she divorced him in 2016. Some months later, she married a UK national who had moved to Syria and been involved in patrols on the Iraq border.

When Raqqa fell to allied forces in 2018, she moved to Baghouz, the group's last remaining stronghold.

After that too fell in March 2019, she eventually returned to Ireland and was arrested on arrival with her young daughter at Dublin airport on December 1.

Gillane said the judges had to consider Smith's conversations, state of mind and statements, arguing that her IS membership could be inferred from her conduct.

Moving to IS-controlled territory "is a central act of allegiance ... an act without which the terrorist government can not survive", he added.

The bad boy Sunni group, known for brutally executing those who did not share its radical ideology, required pledges of loyalty for "sustenance and vitality", he said.

Smith, described by one witness as "naive and easily taken in" who may have been "looking for a sense of belonging" in Islam, was "running with ISIS, not running away", Gillane said.

US charges man who sold gun used in synagogue hostage crisis
Very good. Now tell us how Mr. Akram knew how to find a felon to sell him an illegal gun, and who put him together with Mr. Williams.
[JPost] Henry "Michael" Williams, has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The US Justice Department has filed criminal charges against a man for allegedly selling the gun that Malik Faisal Akram later used to take hostages earlier this month at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas.

Henry "Michael" Williams, 32, has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, the US Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Texas announced Wednesday.

Williams, who was previously convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted possession of a controlled substance, sold Akram the semiautomatic Taurus G2C pistol on Jan. 13, according to prosecutors.

Two days later, Akram brought the pistol to Congregation Beth Israel during Saturday morning prayers, where he held four people, including the rabbi, hostage for nearly 11 hours. The first hostage was released around 5 p.m. The other three broke free unharmed when Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker threw a chair at Akram to distract him and fled out a side door.

Interviewed by the FBI days later, after his arrest on an outstanding state warrant, Williams identified a photo of Akram and affirmed he had made the firearm sale for $150.

The pistol was found inside the synagogue after FBI agents breached the building on Jan. 15, killing Akram in the process. The FBI is investigating the hostage situation as both terrorism and a hate crime.
The Times of Israel adds:
Malik Akram purchased semiautomatic Taurus G2C pistol 2 days before Texas standoff, telling dealer he needed it to ’intimidate’ someone who owed him cash, Justice Department says.

"After viewing a photo of Mr. Akram, Mr. Williams confirmed he sold Mr. Akram the handgun at an intersection in South Dallas," the Justice Department continued. "Analysis of both men’s cellphone records showed that the two phones were in close proximity on January 13."

Initiative to recognize DPR and LPR agreed three times with Putin
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The initiative to recognize the DPR and LPR, coming from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, has been agreed three times with the only person in Russia in whose hands the strategy is, President Vladimir Putin , said the leader of the movement "The Essence of Time," Sergey Kurginyan on the air of the author's program "The Meaning of the Game" on the movement channel in YouTube.

The strategic problems of war and peace, the management of tensions between countries, for example, Ukraine and Russia, in the Russian Federation are handled by one person - the President of Russia and Supreme Commander Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. He is alone. Not the State Duma, not some departments, not separate elite groups, the political scientist said.

According to him, Putin, of course, listens to the information provided to him by one or another competent source, as well as some opinions of a very narrow circle of people who are involved in these issues, after which he can easily say to all these people in the spirit of Chapaev from the film of the same name: "About everything you said here, do not care and forget, listen to what I say," which has already happened more than once.

"Accordingly, I have a question about what certain types of actions mean, carried out as if in anticipation of something else. For example, we are well aware that on such important issues, and I don’t see anything wrong with that, the Communist Party faction in the State Duma will be completely silent when it comes to war and peace, tension, and everything else. So, if it nonetheless puts forward an initiative like recognizing the LNR, DNR, then it is related to something.

She does this not because she wants to, or because it will increase her popularity among the people. Onaya agrees to this five times before doing something like that, ”Korginyan said.

But even if this is an eccentric behavior of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, not coordinated with the highest authorities, and no more than that, according to the expert, is completely excluded, then she would have been given a short sentence, after which she would have immediately shut up.

But this was not carried out. Therefore, taking into account the soft support for this decision in the State Duma, we are talking about thrice coordinated actions. And there can be no other understanding of this plot, the political scientist added.

Texas Border City Officials Resign After FBI Raids Congressman's Home
[Breitbart] Two Laredo municipal officials resigned their posts shortly after federal agents carried out a search warrant at the home of U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX).

On Friday, Laredo City Manager Robert Eads resigned, local news reported. One day before, City Attorney Dean Roggia also handed his resignation. Both reportedly came as a surprise to the public. The officials cited private reasons for their departures.

Both resignations came soon after federal agents raided Cuellar’s house in Laredo as part of a federal inquiry, Breitbart Texas reported. Agents took computer equipment and documents from the raid.

One day after the raid, Laredo Major Pete Saenz issued a statement to local outlets announcing that Laredo Police had not taken part. Saenz claimed the sudden resignations are not linked to Cuellar.

“We are hoping all goes well for Congressman Henry Cuellar and his family, and may truth and justice prevail,” Saenz reportedly said in the statement per the Laredo Morning Times.

According to ABC News, the raids stem from a federal grand jury inquiry into Cuellar, his wife, and associates regarding dealings with officials from Azerbaijan. The inquiry is reportedly looking into “anything of value” that Cuellar or his associates may have been offered by foreign interests and any favors in return. Grand jury proceedings and inquiries are traditionally sealed. It remains unclear how ABC News was able to get access to the documents.

SDF declare victory in week-long ISIS stand off in northeast Syrian prison, 181 dead thus far
[Rudaw] The week-long stand off between Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) turbans and US-backed Kurdish forces has drawn to a close on Wednesday, with thousands of prisoners recaptured and fighting stalled, according to the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in a conflict that has killed at least 181 people.

Fighting continued for the seventh day in and around the surrounding area of al-Sina’a prison, known to locals as Ghweran prison, in Hasaka province, northeast Syria, following an attempted jail-break by ISIS on the building housing around 5,000 of its affiliates on Thursday. Footage circulated by the Syrian North Press Agency on Wednesday depicted an Apache helicopter and sound of fierce gunfire.

By Wednesday afternoon, SDF media head Farhad Shami declared turbans previously detained within the prison defeated, with the force having "entire control of the al-Sina'a prison in al-Hasaka and the surrendering of all ISIS terrorists." According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, fighting in and around the prison since Thursday has killed 181 people, including 124 ISIS jihadists, 50 Kurdish fighters and seven civilians.

Earlier in the day, the SDF announced that a thousand ISIS turbans previously detained within the prison had surrendered to the forces battling to retake control, and confirmed the liberation of 23 prison employees, with Shami sharing an image showing medical staff treating a maimed ISIS fighter in the prison.

"Our forces managed to capture more terrorist attackers and forced other mutineers Lions of Islam inside the prison to surrender themselves," the force said, adding that "the number of Lions of Islam forced to surrender has risen to about 1,000."

Video footage distributed by SDF Media showed a line of re-captured ISIS turbans in orange jumpsuits and shabby grey sweaters.
With the US and other foreign forces stepping in to support Kurdish elite units, the neighbourhood around the prison was secured and the besieged Death Eaters inside the prison started turning themselves in.

The corpse count could rise as Kurdish forces and medical services gain access to all parts of the prison following the end of the attack.

Kurdish forces had cut off food and water to the jail for two days to pressure holdout jihadists to give themselves up, the Observatory said.

The SDF has been reluctant to refer to talks between them and IS fighters, and it remains unclear exactly what led to the end of the attack.

Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman said a Syrian IS jihadist had negotiated with Kurdish forces to end the standoff and secure medical care for maimed jihadists.

Since Monday, Kurdish forces had freed at least 32 prison staff, some of whom appeared in video footage that IS had shared on social media after launching the attack.

Prissy Neil Young deletes open letter calling for Joe Rogan censorship on Spotify
By Christina Maas

[ReclaimTheNet] Young had tried to threaten Spotify with pulling out if it didn't censor the world's number one podcast.

This is not the first time Young has asked Spotify to remove his music. In 2019, he removed most of his music after he complained about sound quality. Eventually, he allowed the music back.

This isn’t the first time Young has been out of his depth when making demands. Young also hit the headlines when he attempted to block President Donald Trump from playing "Rockin’ in the Free World" at rallies before realizing that he had no legal power to do so.

Canadian-American singer-songwriter Neil Young, who was big in the 60s and 70s, tried to give streaming platform Spotify an ultimatum; it either bans Joe Rogan or removes his music.

Young sent an open letter to his record label and management team with the ultimatum. He accused Spotify of "spreading fake information about vaccines," for interviewing doctors against vaccine mandates.

"I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines — potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them," he wrote. "Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule."

"I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform," he continued. "They can have Rogan or Young. Not both."

However, the demands were short lived as Young has quickly deleted the letter.

Young likely realized that he has no grounds to make the demands. Rogan has an exclusive deal with Spotify and Young sold 50% of the rights to his music to a British investment company a year ago.

Young’s open letter comes days after some doctors wrote an open letter to Spotify, calling on the streaming platform to develop a stronger censorship policy. The open letter by the doctors came after the episode on Joe Rogan’s podcast featuring mRNA pioneer Dr. Robert Malone.

Young has only 6 million monthly listeners on the platform and Rogan has over 11 million per episode, averaging 15 episodes per month, with some single episodes thought to be as high as 40 million listeners.

Media and Political Attacks on National Guard at Border ‘Inaccurate, False,' Says Texas Military
[Breitbart] After weeks of what appears to be politically motivated criticism, the Texas Military Department fired back with an official response to questions over pay issues, housing conditions, and suicide incidents.

“After multiple failed attempts to correct the record with these outlets, the Texas Military Department wants to set the record straight to ensure accurate reporting on this mission,” Colonel Rita Holton, Public Affairs Director for the Texas Military Department said in a written statement.

“It is clear that reporters have gleaned information from anonymous sources and unverified documents, which have then been skewed to push an agenda,” Col. Holton explained. “Allegations relate to the state’s mobilization, deployment, and operations in support of Operation Lone Star.”

The Texas military says the “nebulous charges” that members of the Texas National Guard are not paid are “inaccurate.” Col. Holton reports that “every service member assigned to Operation Lone Star is being paid.” She admits there were some administrative challenges in the rapid spin-up of Operation Lone Star.

Perhaps the biggest issue being exploited for what appears to be political purposes relates to the suicides of members of the Texas National Guard.

Texas military officials processed more than 900 hardship requests in connection to Operation Lone Star, the statement reports. Seventy-five percent of these requests have been approved.

Colonel Holton said the media narrative that the Texas Military Department is systematically or routinely denied hardship requests are “false reports.”

“In regards to four service member deaths, there has been misleading and false information pushed to the public without proper context, irrespective of family sensitivities and desires,” Col. Holton stated. “Two of the four service members mentioned by outlets were mobilized in support of Operation Lone Star.”

Holton said that while the investigations are still underway, “there is no evidence to support an assumption that their decisions were made as a direct result of hardship denials.”

“It would be irresponsible journalism at this point in time to tie these tragedies to Operation Lone Star,” Col. Holton said.

During calendar year 2021, the Texas Military Department experienced a total of nine suicides out of their 22,000 members.

Holton also addressed the issues of equipment, living conditions and COVID-19 protocols.

“There have been inaccurate reports and social media posts attempting to malign and undermine Texas Military Department efforts to support our service members along the border,” the colonel added. “Our personnel are trained to operate and adapt in austere environments at home and abroad. As with any mission, we continue to adjust as the situation evolves.”

Science & Technology
Some Covid-19/22 Figures To Munch On That Were Collected 1-25-22
Reported cases of COVID-19/22 in the last 7 days= 4,498,817.
So roughly 0.04324% of the total US Population was infected in the last 7 days.
Roughly about 1 in 2,312.67 persons.

Using the new CDC death counting guidelines.
There were roughly 14,444 COVID-19/22 deaths.
So this equals approximately 0.321% of the 4,498,817 infected population died.
Or about 1 in 31,152.64 infected of of the 1 in 2,312.67 did not survive.

COVID-19/22 VACCINE DATA
Experts estimate that in the U.S., 70% of the population — more than 200 million people — would have to recover from COVID-19 to halt the pandemic. It is estimated roughly 251,000,000+ people or 76% of the US population have received at least one dose of the Covid-19/22 Vaccine. But are told now we still haven't reached Covid-19 Herd immunity.

Maybe this figure more what they need to be 70%. Overall, roughly 211,000,000+ people or 65% of the population have been now fully vaccinated and have boosters.

VACCINE ISSUES
Among all Covid-19/22 vaccine recipients, 66.6% reported at least one systemic reaction in the 7 days after vaccination. The frequency and severity of systemic adverse events was higher after dose 2 than dose 1. Fatigue, headache, chills, and new or worsened muscle pain were most common.

US Cardiologists are reporting a huge spike in heart inflammation cases after vaccination to the American Heart Association (AHA). The warning to the AHA is clear: "Patients had a 1 in 4 risk for severe problems after the vaccines, compared to 1 in 9 before."

SEE: VACCINE RELATED SERIOUS EVENTS & DEATHS:
Look at the figures yourself. They are crappy when compared to other Vax's used.

BTW: As of this morning (07:32EST) the USA is showing 20% reduction in cases over the last accounting period (last week).

#1  Check your math.
Posted by: Muggsy Uning1913 || 01/27/2022 0:27 Comments || Top||

#2  YOU ARE CORRECT #1, I HOSED THE MATH !!

There no excuses for incorrect or bad data when posting to the RANT BURG or any Website that feeds 1000's of users information. (I will feed the RB Penalty Kitty)

MY CORRECTED 1-25-2022 FIGURES
Using "https://percentagecalculator.net/" as my calculator.
Using a USA Population of about 334,045,943.

According to the 1-25-22 provided data, over the last 7 days in the USA 4,498,817 were infected. Which equaled about 1.34% of the US population was said to have been infected??

Of the 4,498,817 infected, we are told about 14,444 died over the same 7 Day period. While we know, not all of the infections relate to the same deaths. It provides something of a running Infection to Death average. So we have something like a 0.321% +/- Death/Infection morbidity rate over the last 7 days.

A wider view of Daily Deaths in the USA.
According to CDC and other sources, on any given day in the USA about 7,300+/- people die for collection of reason in the USA. The daily Covid-19/22 average for 1-25-22 was about 2,063.42. vs. the US normal daily death rate of about 7,300 which is still about 2.53 X higher than Covid-19/22.

Again my many apologies.

Evansville Wartime Museum advocate, World War II pilot Allen Sanderson, 99, passes on
[Courier & Press] EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Allen Sanderson, who flew 118 missions in an Evansville-made P-47 Thunderbolt during World War II and later became a staunch supporter of the Evansville Wartime Museum, has died. He was 99.

The native of Roanoke, Virginia, moved to Evansville in the late 1950s and had a 35-year career with the company formerly known as American General Finance. He was involved with Hadi Shrine for 50 years, as well as several other organizations.

Establishing the local war museum, though, was Sanderson's great passion. Given his life story, it's easy to understand why.

Yemen gov't forces sweep through Marib in setback for rebels
[AlAhram] Forces of Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
's internationally recognized government and their United Arab Emirates-backed allies swept through a strategic central province, forcing Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
rebels out of its second largest district, officials said Wednesday.

The development in Marib province is another setback for the Iranian-backed Houthis, who for a year attempted to take control of the oil-rich province. Their offensive crumbled when the UAE-backed Giants Brigades helped reclaim the nearby Shabwa province earlier this month before advancing in Marib under air cover from the Saudi-led coalition.

Government forces and the Giants retook the district of Harib and its center south of Marib city after nearly two weeks of fighting, pushing their way to the nearby district of Juba, said Brig. Abdou Megali, a military front man. The Houthis had taken the two districts last year, part of their offensive on Marib.

Fighting also raged between government forces and the Houthis elsewhere including in the provinces of Jawf and Taiz, he added.

The Giants posted footage purportedly showing their forces roaming through what they said was the center of Harib. Other footage showed fighters on armored vehicles speeding in what they said were mountainous areas overlooking the district.

Two other military officials from inside the coalition also said the district had been taken. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

In a decree for local authorities, Marib's provincial governor Sheikh Sultan al-Aradah ordered the restoration of all services in the district, which he said the Houthis disrupted when they took it in September.

Houthi spokesmen did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The recent escalation of ground fighting has coincided with intense Houthi cross-border attacks on Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
and the UAE, as well as heavy coalition Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s on the rebel-held Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

The Houthi military media reported dozens of coalition airstrikes on Sanaa and elsewhere in Yemen over the past 24 hours. The rebels said there were at least 20 airstrikes overnight on Sanaa alone.

The ongoing battlefield setbacks prompted Brig. Yahia Sarei, a Houthi military front man, threatened further attacks on the UAE.

The Houthis have made Marib city their main target for the past three years. They first retook town after town in the neighbouring province, before finally reaching the outskirts of the city itself. But their hopes in capturing it diminished when the UAE-backed forces joined the festivities, shifting the tide of the conflict.

Home Front: Politix
Red wave alert for Senate Democrats
[NationalJournal] President Biden’s weak approval ratings, compounded by ugly Democratic divisions, have increased the likelihood of a significant Republican wave election this year. Biden’s job approval rating at the one-year mark is just under 41 percent, according to the RealClearPolitics average, the second-lowest of any president in the modern era. Republicans now hold a 3-point advantage on the generic ballot per RCP, a position that’s similar to the party’s commanding positions in the midterm elections of 2010 (when they netted five Senate seats) and 2014 (when Republicans regained the Senate majority, winning nine Senate seats).

Indeed, the race-by-race analysis hasn’t kept up with the deteriorating macro-political reality for Democrats. At the beginning of the cycle, Senate Democrats looked like they would benefit from a favorable Senate map, not defending a single state that Trump carried in 2020. But with Biden’s downturn, the swing states that the president carried narrowly (Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin) now look like tough territory for the party in power. Meanwhile, Republican-leaning states like Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio, which once looked competitive, now look like longer shots—even with a solid Democratic recruit in Florida, the presence of a Trump-endorsed candidate in North Carolina, and an underwhelming Republican field in Ohio.

When STEALING AN ELECTION, make sure the persons

Otherwise you and your political party will pay dearly.

#2  Peter Drucker asserted that "An organization can have one mission. As soon as it has two, it will fail at both." So give the dems credit for focusing on election theft and letting the suitability of their candidates to fate.

Now, if we could get GOPe to have a mission to distract from "sucking up to the left and selling out conservative voters," we'd be getting somewhere.

Spain: More than 300 migrants rescued at sea near Canary Islands
[DW] Spain's emergency services said it had rescued more than 300 people from seven different boats. Activists said at least 18 would-be migrants colonists were dead.

Spain's emergency services on the Canary Islands said it had rescued 319 people among then 59 women and 24 children from seven different vessels.

One of the boats purportedly was carrying as many as 120 people. A Maritime Rescue Service spokeswoman told the AP that Spanish rescue boats reached the boats at different locations overnight Tuesday and early Wednesday.

At its closest point to Africa, the Canary Islands are just 100 kilometers (60 miles) off the coast in the Atlantic Ocean.

WHAT CONDITION WERE THE PEOPLE RESCUED ON BOATS IN?
Rescuers did not find bodies near or on the boats found. The spokeswoman for the maritime rescue service only said that rescue services found nine individuals clinging to a capsized boat 45 nautical miles from the island of Lanzarote.

The boat engaged in that rescue had to handle another rescue immediately.

Footage taken by the news agency Rooters showed dozens of people in red blankets being helped off a rescue boat at the port of Arguineguin by masked emergency workers in protective gear.

Nine adults and one baby had to be transferred for medical care on Lanzarote and the nearby island of Gran Canaria. Most of those rescued are believed to be from North and Central Africa.

The Walking Borders NGO that works with migrants colonists however reported that 18 people on one of the boats had died.

The group's founder Helena Maleno wrote on Twitter, "Rescue means were activated too late, despite having the boat's location."

Last year, more than 22,000 migrants colonists arrived by sea on the Canary Islands, half of the recorded total in Spain.

According to the International Organization of Migration, at least 384 people died in 2021 attempting the perilous sea journey. By contrast, the NGO Walking Borders reports 4,404 deaths in 2021.

Kurdish activist attempts English Channel crossing to highlight migrants’ plight
[Rudaw] A Kurdish activist boarded a dinghy on Tuesday evening with around two dozen migrants colonists, including at least two toddlers, in an attempt to cross the English Channel in order to highlight the desperate plight of migrants colonists, and the great risks they face.

"Greetings to you, I am live on Instagram in French waters heading to Britannia... my aim in taking this journey is to be with these Kurdish migrants colonists as a Kurdish activist and that is why I have taken this big risk with my own life, we will be in the water for five hours," Ranj Pwahdari, an activist who has reported on the Kurdish migrants colonists crisis for years said in a video posted on his Instagram at 1:00am on Wednesday morning.
